Evaluation Capacity Analysis
In this portion of the evaluative assignments, there will be an analysis to assess the role and
function of evaluations and processes with the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS).
ADHS is a large and complex agency which encompasses many departments, divisions, and offices.
As a result, each component and program collects different data and evaluates their capacities
differently. Therefore, for this evaluation capacity analysis, the program that will be focused on is,
the High Risk Perinatal Program/ Newborn Intensive Care Program (HRPP/NICP) within the
Bureau of Women and Children s Health(BWCH), Office of Children s Health (OCH). This
capacity analysis draws on data collected from previous evaluations, as well as data compiled
from conversations with agency staff. With this data, the paper will discuss forms of data
collected, the processes used to collect data, key players, reporting procedures, a discussion of
how data is used within the agency, and a discussion of previous evaluations undertaken to assess
the HRPP/NICP program. The purpose of the overall... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to accomplish the program s specified mission, the HRPP/NICP developed goals which
include: (1) early identification of women and children at risk of mortality and morbidity, (2)
education for health professionals, families, and communities, (3) linkage of infant, toddlers, and
pregnant women to risk appropriate services, and (4) establishment of standards of care (ADHS,
2009). As a result, the program has provided a safety net for Arizona families and a method for
ensuring availability and accessibility of risk appropriate care to critically ill newborns and high
risk pregnant women, regardless of their ability to pay (ADHS,

Journal Entry Reflection
In last week s journal entry I stated that this week PVEPD would be conducting active shooter
training, but the training is postponed for now. During this week s shifts, I finished the putting
together the emergency operation plan binders, cleaned the briefing room, and went to the
department s shooting range where I had the opportunity to shoot AR 15 and a Glock 22. I spent
both Monday and Tuesday s shift at the shooting in the basement of the policedepartment. The
shooting range which is located underneath the department and can be accessed through the parking
garage. There are two rooms in the basement one room is storage for the gunrange and the other
room is the actually shooting range. Each room requires a special type of key and passcode... Show

To disinfect and clean both the kitchen and briefing room I used Clorox wipes. So I started off
wiping all the handles on the cabinets and doors and then moved to the tables in briefing. Once I
knew that tables and all the handles were wiped down good I moved to wiping down the two
phones in briefing. In the kitchen, I washed the dishes that were in the sink and made a fresh pot
of coffee. I also wiped down the kitchen table and all the appliances in the kitchen. I also made
sure to give the kitchen phone a good wipe down as well. Once the cleaning part was done I
emptied both the kitchens and briefing trash cans in the dumpster

Alexander Hamilton Vs. Thomas Jefferson
Selina Lewis
October 17, 2014
Government
Ms. Bishop Alexander Hamilton vs. Thomas Jefferson During the ratification of the Constitution of
1787, the Federalist and Anti federalist views created tensions and barriers between the two.
Federalists, who supported the making of a new document, the Constitution, differed from Anti
federalists who believed that the new system threatened liberties and failed to protect individual
rights. Anti federalist, such as Patrick Henry, James Winthrop and Samuel Adams, believed in state
s rights and only urged the need of alterations to the Articles of Confederation rather than dispose of
it. Likewise, several arguments arose including the issue of slavery, the duties of the Supreme
Court, but majorly the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights is the general name for the first ten
amendments in United States Constitution. These were proposed to alleviate the fears of Anti
Federalists; furthermore, well known Founding Fathers disputed that the Constitution should not be
ratified because it failed to protect the basic principles of human liberty. Contrastingly, Hamilton
and Madison alike disagreed with the beliefs of the Anti federalists and believed that the
Constitution did not need a Bill of Rights; it would create a parchment barrier that limited the rights
of the people, as opposed to protecting them. However, they eventually made the decision to
willingly establish the said amendments into the Constitution which

Twelfth Night Social Order
Change in Social Order If there was no way of out of your current social status, would you be
happy with it? Twelfth Night is one of the great comedies written by William Shakespeare. The
play showcases many truths about society. Status was important in the Elizabethan Age, and
people could not raise in the social ranks. The purpose of turning over the social order in Twelfth
Night is to reveal that status is just a label through showing love does not abide by these
boundaries, status does not display true character, and status is not obtained by those who aim for
it. First of all, love does not have any boundaries because it is merely the attraction and adoration of
another person, no matter their age, status, race, and beliefs. Many characters in Twelfth Night fall

Malvolio is tricked into thinking the lady of the house is in love with him and does everything
he can to please her. Malvolio believes he will be the Duke of the house with servants at his feet
and loads of fortunes. Malvolio pleases the countess by smiling, cross gartering, and wearing
yellow stockings all of which are absurd and Olivia laughs at him for his foolishness. Olivia later
feels sorry for Malvolio because he was considered a madman for thinking she was in love with
him and partially for that he could move up in the hierarchy. Sebastian, on the other hand, was
placed in a great situation. Or I am mad, or else this is a dream. Let fancy still my sense in Lethe

similar appearance to Cesario and asked Sebastian to marry her. Of course he said yes because
someone wealthy was offering. Sebastian was not looking to move up in the social order, but when
presented with the chance he took it. Sebastian and Malvolio were two completely different

Compare And Contrast Arizona And Virginia
Where to live? This is a question many people ask themselves, but narrow it down to two states
such as Virginia and Arizona. While on the surface, Arizona and Virginia are beautiful states that
most people would love to live in. But both states have their drawbacks from weather to the size of
their state and population and politics. In another light they both have quite a few number of
benefits such as accessibility and law enforcement. First most, Arizona is known as one of the
hottest states with temperatures sometimes reaching 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature has
been proven to be able to cook food items such as eggs and cookie dough. In addition to having hot
weather, during summer Arizona begins its monsoon season with heavy winds and occasional rain.
While this may not be appealing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Arizona comes in at 113, 998 mi2 and Virginia pales in comparison by 42,775 mi2. While
Virginia is smaller size, the population size comes in at 8.412 million people. Especially due to
weather, Arizona only has 6.931 million people residing in the state. Furthermore, agriculturally,
Arizona is mainly famous for growing cotton and their 5 C s: cotton, cattle, citrus, cattle, and
copper. In contrast, Virginia is widely known for growing tobacco. In addition, both states grow
marijuana which rakes in more cash than other cash crops. Equally important, Arizona and
Virginia are blessed with access to multiple utilities which are usually taken for granted. They
have access to clean water, electricity, internet, cell service, and much more. Also, they have
access to modern medical facilities for humans and animals. While they may be similar in
accessibility, the median cost of homes differentiates significantly. The median costs of homes in
Arizona are about $223,700. This comes to about $142 per square foot. In Virginia, the median
cost of homes increases to $299,999 and about $153 per square

in many different habitats. It blends in the best when the leaves change through fall to winter, and
then early spring before everything starts to green up. It has a soft background, that includes tree

Charles Bukowski s Poem Radio With Guts
Radio With Guts Charles Bukowski was a man who didn t have an easy going childhood like a
typical child should have. Bukowski and his mom were physically abused by his father which
later caused him to be a barbarous bitter young man. However, even though he was a man full of
vexation he was very famous for his poems and short stories. One of his most memorable poems
to me was a Radio with guts because of the theme that I got out of this poem. I strongly believe
that the theme was no matter what you do to a person physically, mentally, and emotionally you
can never crack them split open. This theme is so memorable because it acknowledges to never
let others put you down. Also even when people are hurting you to always get back up and find
a solution for it. Lastly, remove all inadequate memories in your life so it s not taking a toll on
your future. Therefore, I feel that radio with guts should be a poem everyone should read because
to show others no matter what your going through never break for anybody because it will soon
show how fragile you may be. To begin with, Bukowski use to get so drunk that he would smash

Service For Sony Computer Entertainment
To begin this letter, I would first like to congratulate you on your impressive fifteen years of
service for Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE), and I have been affected by your wonderful
service to such a prosperous company. With an impressive background and dedication to a
company whose products many people of all ages have enjoyed, you have indirectly touched
countless people throughout time and have probably caused many youths to go into gamedesign and
development, some of whom may even be your colleagues or co workers. I wish you continued

I shall get to the point of my writing you, and perhaps give insight to the consumer side and help
with continued success. Since the PlayStation 3was introduced into the market, as well as the
competing consoles, downloadable content has become commonplace among many games to this
date and has been the bane, or joy, of many consumers.
Now, as a businessman, your first responsibility to the company is to ensure success and to partner
with the companies and organize the content for the console. Which, is any sound business strategy,
to earn revenue and get a return on profit (or investment), on the product that has just been released
that took two or more years to produce. As the president of Sony America, you may not have direct

she must pay the balance owing no later than 10 days after receiving the statement; if McClain

the unit. This offended the Charanians and they told McClain that measuring the area would be
very costly due to the odd angles of the space. The Charanians insisted that McClain could rely
on their measurements of the area. 15.In early 2005, McClain obtained a copy of Octagon s

Xbox Vs. Xbox Systems
With so many kind of gaming consoles out there it can be hard for new gamers to decide which
one to use. PlayStation, the Nintendo WII, and Xbox are the three big players and usually
everyone will like one, but the Xbox systems are the best way to go. The Xbox systems have
always been my favorite consoles, since my first one I started to prefer them over the others. All of
the other consoles that I have tried I have ended up having multiple problems with and get
frustrated trying to fix them because I don t have the extra spending money to buy new ones.
PlayStation consoles are what I used prior to discovering the Xbox. One of the biggest problems I
always found with these consoles is how delicate they are. They have always been made with ...

issue I always had with the Nintendo WII is trying to just find a good game. Most of the games
are made for children or are family appropriate games. For a person who is really into gaming
and is above ten years old, don t get truly interested in the gameplay of these kind of games.
These people like games with good action and stories that keep you focused and thinking. The
games that Nintendo put out for the WII are just too simplistic. Then when you actually find the
few games that are well known names you know that you like are end up hard to control
properly. So than you try to mess with the apps that are provided with the WII and it always has a
slow internet connection that causes the apps to glitch and take a long time to load. Trying to
watch TV shows or movies on Netflix was always a nightmare with the WII.

The Houston Equal Rights Ordinance
Introduction
HERO, the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance, according to the City of Houston Equal Rights
Ordinance (2014), covers nondiscrimination against sex, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age,
familial status, marital status, military status, religion, disability, sexual orientation, genetic
information, gender identity, and pregnancy. The ordinance lists sections of protection within city
services and employment, contracting with the city, public accommodations, private employment,
and housing (Exh A, 2014). (Ord. No. 2014 530, В§ 2(Exh A), 5 28 2014)
Although the ordinance protects several classes of people within five separate categories, the
ordinance became the policy in favor of men in women s bathrooms. With a lot of attention on
transgender people within the last year alone, the media was able to manipulate public perception
by focusing on one aspect of the ordinance. Many Houstonians, still weary of the LGBTQ
community and ill informed, were fully against the ordinance, claiming to defend their women and
children against predators. Voters believed the ordinance created an open door for sex crime to
increase in the city. Consequently, the ordinance failed to pass with a 60% opposing vote. The
ordinance for equality should have passed, however, Houstonians focused only on their false
perceptions and myths of sexual predators, such as strangers and queers.
HERO initial policy Openly gay mayor Annise Parker introduced the ordinance April 2014. Because

Explain the role of discretion in the criminal justice system.
As a society we believe that offenders should be held accountable for their actions but also treated
fairly in the criminal investigation, trial process and sentencing. As a result of this, the power of
discretion, that is the ability to choose from a range of options, is granted to some authorities
ensure some flexibility for decision making within the system, enabling a more holistic outcome for
all parties involved. The issues that explore and reflect the role of discretion within our criminal
justice system are police discretion, charge negotiation and judicial discretion in sentencing.

Meanwhile, Don Weatherburn as director of BOCSCAR expressed his concern as he stated; it is
naГЇve to imagine that a young offender, after years of involvement in crime, will suddenly become
law abiding . As a result, police discretion is a very important aspect of prosecuting juvenile
crime, as it is clear that in some cases going to court should be the outcome for young offenders.
However the role of discretion for police lies in being able to decide which cases and which
circumstances warrant the result of court, as opposed to the multiple alternative forms of
punishment that police have the power to enforce.
A controversial aspect of the criminal justice system is the Crown s use of discretion when it
decides to make charge negotiations. This means that the crown offers the accused a lesser
charge should they plead guilty to it. In doing so, the crown benefits from the assured conviction
(maintaining peace and security by an efficient means) and the accused benefits from a lesser
sentence. However by employing powers of discretion in this case and making a deal with
offenders, is seems to be at the expense of victims as there if insufficient retribution. The case of
Nannette May (2009) epitomises the concern of victims, as May was not given a chance to give
evidence against her attacker due to his acceptance of a

The Properties Of Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates contain the elements carbon, hydrogen and oxygen and are hydrated due to the
2;1 ratio of hydrogen and water. Carbohydrates have 3 groups; monosaccharides, disaccharides
and polysaccharides (see figure 7) Monosaccharides are simple sugars that made up of 1 sugar unit
and include glucose, fructose, galactose which are substrates for respiration. When 2
monosaccharides gain a glycosidic bond to attach to another they become disaccharides. On the
reverse, when they are broken down from 2 to 1, a condensation reaction and this is called
hydrolysis. Adding one monosaccharide after another to the chain, it polysaccharides; this is called
condensation polymerisation and the monosaccharides are then referred to as monomers. The
properties of a polysaccharide molecule depend on the length and any folding which results in a

Leader and Managing the Changes in Health Care
Leader and Manager Healthcare is constantly changing and advancing, which requires nurses to
possess complex leadership skills that can be utilized to accomplish the most successful
outcome possible for each individual patient (Titzer, Phillips, Tooley, Hall, Shirey, 2013).
Managing these fundamental challenges necessitates the ability to acquire knowledgeable
research and implement it into a strategic plan of care for individuals and/or communities (Titzer
et al., 2013). In this paper I will explain why I chose the leader and manager role, and I will
examine the challenges and opportunities faced with this role. I will also discuss the theories
related to this role, and I will review the competences and experience that must be achieved for
this role. Leader and Manager Role I personally chose the leader and manager role due to the fact
that I have the desire and ability to empower individuals and communities to achieve the highest
goals possible. As a new nurse, I experienced the negative attitudes of nurses that seemed to be
stagnant in their roles. I witnessed the day to day care that was delivered to the patients without
the incentive to go above and beyond to make a difference. However, my next job exposed me to
a team of nurses that collaborated and strived to make a difference in the lives of their patients on
a daily basis. Being exposed to a caring environment with positive attitudes made me realize what
my role in nursing should be. Challenges and Opportunities

Company Evaluation
Free Cash Flow Estimation
The first part of the company evaluation was focused on the historical performance of the
company for the last 5 years and projection of its free cash flow in the future. As presented in
Appendix 1, in those years the Allianz Group faced fluctuations in its total income but managed
to keep its business profitable, with total expenses averaging around 93% of its Total Income. In
terms of growth, the company is expected to grow at a slower pace, 2,4% in 2012 due to the
variety of cataclysms faced throughout the year. In coming years however, the strong Real GDP
growth of 5,5% in the emerging markets (representing close to 50% of company s clients), a
steady growth of 3,22% is to be expected.
The growing revenues however do not seem to have large impact on the total expenses: the third
quarter interim report for 2012 shows lowering expenses, totaling to 91% for 2012. In the coming
years however, the rising number of cataclysms and the stagnating economic environment in Europe
will most probably increase slightly those numbers and a 93%, a number in line with the
incremental changes for the past years. (Appendix 4)

The Flaws Of Foots Moral System Essay
Shortcomings of Foots Moral System
In Morality as a System of Hypothetical Imperatives, Philippa Foot argues that moral judgments are
in hypothetical imperatives rather than categorical imperatives. For Kant, categorical imperatives
are actions that are good in themselves and do not depend on desires, while, hypothetical
imperatives are actions that are good to some purpose (306). According to Foot, hypothetical
imperatives alone serve as the basis of moral judgments because categorical imperatives give us no
reason to obey them. In this paper, I will explain foots argument that moral judgments are
hypothetical imperatives. I will then argue that that Foot s theory of moral judgments fails in two
ways. First, placing moral judgments in hypothetical imperatives fails to designate moral from
immoral contingent ends, and second, the hypothetical imperative weakens morality by making it
too optional. To show this, I will first argue that placing moral judgments in hypothetical
imperatives begs the question of what is the moral basis of its own contingent end. I will then
propose a decision procedure for determining the moral value of the contingent ends of hypothetical
imperatives. Then I will argue that the Leningrad does not solve and that basing moral judgments in
hypothetical imperatives still makes morality too optional.
In her paper, Foot argues that moral judgments must exist in either categorical or hypothetical
imperatives. If moral judgments are not in categorical

SWOT Analysis Of Persistent Poverty In South Carolina
Poverty in South Carolina is an issue for all citizens. The issue is particularly acute if you are a
citizen living in poverty, but the issue is of critical importance to those citizens that must support
those areas stricken by persistent poverty. Unbeknownst to many South Carolinians is the persistent
povertycorridor in which certain counties struggle much more than others along Interstate 95.
Allendale County stands out even amongst its peers as a county that is struggling to address
multigenerational poverty. This paper deals with Allendale County poverty beginning by offering
insight into poverty issues within South Carolina, followed by a SWOT analysis, a finagling
offering a few possible solutions.
Persistent Poverty in South Carolina
Poverty within the United States is defined as having an income below a federally determined
poverty threshold. Poverty thresholds were developed by the United States government in the
1960s to benchmark levels of subsistence. Over time these thresholds are often adjusted to
account for inflation; it is now typical for the federal government to adjust the poverty threshold
levels annually. Poverty levels represent the government s estimate of the point below which a
family has insufficient resources to meet their basic needs. Any family with less income than the
established poverty amount is officially classified as poor or as living in poverty. Income, as
defined by the federal rules, can include cash and cash like welfare

An Interesting Topic Of Taxation
The Observer illustrated an interesting topic of taxation. New York Senator Charles Schumer has
introduced a call for a new type of taxation. He proposed a tax on customer service calls being
outsourced to another county (The Observer, 2015). While the tax sounds a bit odd at first, there is
actually for rhyme to the senator s reasoning. The senator s goal is to ultimately keep more jobs on
United Statessoil. Many jobs in the United States have been lost to cheaper labor overseas. This
proposal aims to bringing someone of those jobs back to America by implementing a high
taxation on customer service phone calls that are being answered outside of the United States.
Schumer s policy states, the tax per outsourced call would be 25 cents for the company. In
addition to informing the caller of this, companies would be required to release reports quarterly

Differences Between Peet s Coffee And Dunkin Doughnuts
My project will be on the differences between Peet s Coffee and Dunkin Doughnuts. I have
pondered about what makes these coffee shops different from one another. During my exploration
on Wabash Avenue, I came to the conclusion that location is important regarding customer
population in stores. I also realized the importance of customers, customer service, store
management, and store atmosphere. Because of my project I got to understand what my topic truly
was. At first, I thought that it would be based completely off of location. Throughout time though, I
realized that I would discuss how the effect of a store s environment depends more on the store s
management than the location itself. Management plays a key role in the store itself.... Show more

Wabash is located in South Loop. Wabash surrounds Columbia College and restaurants. In the
1960 s Wabash was flooded with all sorts of shops and people. In the present time mostly college
students roam on Wabash. In the past there were all ages on Wabash. I have this knowledge
from the photos I discovered at the Harold Washington Library. One particular photo stuck out to
me out of the 6 I observed. The photo was of crowded adults waiting to get into a christmas shop
on Wabash. It stuck out to me because it showed how even back then customers still got excited
to buy new products. In present day we do the same. Waiting for the next updated Iphone or to
go black friday shopping to get the best deals. Which shows how important management can be
by, promoting new products to bring in customers and get business. Peets and Dunkin each have
posters to show off their new beverages or deals that they have in store. For example, Dunkin
has a special between 2 and 6pm for 2 dollar iced drinks. These posters really work because of
their location being right where college students are. College students love their coffee. In other
words the location is easy and convenient for them. It s all about convenience for customers. If the
coffee shops were really out of the way and not by campuses. The shops would not have that much
business because it is not in a convenient location and their advertisements would not be seen. After

Market Segments Based On Region For Cowsmoo Milk Bar Essay
There are three possible market segments based on region for Cowsmoo Milk Bar. The first
segment consists of those residing in rural areas. This market segment would not be ideal for
our organization. Rural regions have a low population, and the majority of people who live in
rural areas are more likely to be indifferent about the benefits that our company offers. This
indifference may be caused from their isolated, secluded location, and their lack of a pressing
need to keep up with a modern lifestyle. Therefore we feel that rural locations wouldn t result in
as much business for our establishment as other possible locations. Another regional market
segment to consider is suburban areas. On one hand, suburban locations would be feasible for our
business because customers in these locations are mostly families. Young families will benefit
from our product because it presents them with a healthier alternative to taking their kids out for
traditional ice cream. On the other hand, suburban locations wouldn t benefit Cowsmoo Milk Bar
as much as our next option because our goal is to get people in and out quickly so we can sell a
large volume of products. That suburban locations are not heavily populated will make this
company goal more difficult to reach. Lastly, there are urban locations. Urban locations are the best
market segment for our organization because they contain many people who keep up with trends
and are health conscious. Choosing our location came down to two

The Teaching of the Roman Catholic Church and Their Influence on People s Views on Abortion
The R.C Church teaches that all human life is sacred. The word sacred means devoted or help
especially acceptable to a deity. Both the old and new testaments teach that human life is sacred
and should not be terminated. God created life in his image and each one of us is like him. To kill
a human being is like killing a part of god and this has greatly influenced the teachings of the R.C
Church about abortion.

Attracting younger customer also help us improve brand image compare to competitor. From
data (Chart 4) we can see that BMW driver are younger compare to main competitor, such as
Lexus and Mercedes, if we can make BMW brand attach with young and then make other
competitor brand look old this will help to attract more younger customer and make them
commit to use BMW for the rest of their life. Another thing that we can see from BMW customer
base is while average ages of BMW owner are younger but their average incomes are higher we
make people remember that BMW is the car for highly educate, bright, affluent person who want
to have a great driving experience . If we can own that position which utilize BMW strong point
as Ultimate driving machine then push other competitor to car for boring and old people . This
campaign also improve brand image by reduce bad thing that associate with BMW brand such as
Status symbol, Yuppie Machine and also stress what BMW is all about amazing performance and
try something new and exciting. This show people what make a BMW a BMW which is the main
purpose of this campaign.
From all reason above I think this campaign is successfully improving brand image of BMW and
since target customer of BMW in another part of the world is almost the same we can use this

beginning with having a family incapable of normal expressions of love and protection. Nearly
every event in her life leaves her a victim, Although their poverty was traditional and stultifying,
it was not unique. Their ugliness was unique (Morrison 53 ). The novel examines what
influences led to her fate and what influences kept her from being helped. She believes she

This fact leads to Pecola s desire for blue eyes, as she believes blue eyes would change the way

Furthermore, Pecola is repeatedly teased and abused. She is teased at school, gets punched in the

Annotated Bibliography On Vascular Access Essay
Vascular Access
Usually, accessing vascular structures is done through a needle to puncture the vessel
percutaneously, followed by a wire introduced through the needle to secure the vascular access.
The needle is then removed and a sheath is advanced over the wire. Vascular sheaths are hollow
structures with a built in diaphragm to prevent bleeding. Catheters are then placed into and out of
the sheath with a minimal loss of blood.11
Access to the Cardiovascular System
Femoral arterial and venous access is traditionally the method of choice in infancy. The right and
/or the left groins may be used. This port of access provides advantage of being away from the
thoracic region for ease of catheter manipulation away from the radiographic cameras surrounding
the child s thorax. Umbilical arterial and venous access can be used in newborn babies up to 7
days of age. Other alternative route for arterial access includes: carotid artery, brachial artery, and
axillary artery. On the other hand, alternative venous access includes: internal jugular vein,
subclavian vein, axillary vein, and transhepatic venous access. Alternative vascular access
(ARVA) is occasionally required due to the lack of femoral vascular patency or the need to
position the catheter at a particular trajectory not provided through the traditional femoral access.
The use of ARVA is safe and effective for performing a wide variety of interventions across. In

Essay about Sikh Marriage
Sikh Marriage
Introduction
Expect among some westernised subgroups in the larger Indian cities social mixing between the
sexes is restricted, even in co educational schools. Also, the joint or extended family system is still
the Indian norm. It is in this context, which can only be referred to in passing in this piece of
coursework, that Sikh marriage must be understood. Marriage, traditionally, is not a private matter
between two persons. Through the couple two families become closely connected and into one
family comes a stranger, the wife. She has therefore to be compatible not only with her husband but

The emphasis upon family life as that which God has ordained is such that few Sikhs wish to
remain single. The family assists in finding a partner. Suitability should have as its criteria
virtuous qualities, temperament and age. Then, if they have any place, societal status and
economic position. A final factor will be caste consideration. A Jat is likely to marry a Jat, an
Arora an Arora, a Ramgarhia a Ramgarhia, but there are many exceptions. It is most important that
a Sikh marries a Sikh. The true life of discipleship to the teaching of the Gurus can most
completely be carried out in the householder (grihasthi) state and it is important that it is expressed
in a united family. Mixed marriages are not successful in normal experience, whether the tensions
be caused by conflict between town a village, wealth and poverty, laxity and piety. Kinship has a
negative influence. Sikhs should marry someone whose family (got) as denoted by surname is the
same at the distance of the four grandparents.

Essay on Child Development and The Ecological Theory
Bronfenbrenner s (1977, 1979, 1989, 1993, 1994) ecological theory suggested that child (human)
development occurs for the child within the context of various environments. These environments,
or systems, are influenced from within and between other environments. The individuals within
each system influence each other through various transactions that occur between them. In
ecological theory, these systems are nested with the child at the core, embedded within his/her
immediate family environment. The system with the closest proximity to the child is the
microsystem; this includes the child and family, peers, neighborhood and school. A critical impact

Chronosystem represents change or consistency over time; transitions and events that occur over
the life span such global war or etting married. Changes over the life course are represented as the
chronosystem. Belsky (1988, 1993) shared Bronfenbrenner s belief that development occurs within
various environmental contexts, or systems. He explored specifically the issue of child
maltreatment from an ecological model. Belsky (1988) conceptualized the etiology of child
maltreatment as occurring from four contexts: the individual (ontogenic development), the family
(microsystem), the community (exosystem), and the culture (macrosystem). The child was
positioned at the core of this model. In keeping with evolving understanding of child maltreatment
from research and clinical experience, Belsky (1993) expanded this ecological perspective and
introduced a developmental ecological analysis of child maltreatment. This approach included the
developmental context , the immediate interactional context , and the broader context . Belsky
made a distinction stating that aspects within the child, innate and or biological, play a role in the
child s experience of maltreatment and developmental dysfunction. These include aspects such as
the child s age, health and behaviors. Belsky further determined that parent child interaction was a
key factor related to child maltreatment and occurred within the immediate interactional context.

Behind The Great Emancipator Analysis
Behind the great emancipator s created public persona lies the real Abraham Lincoln, a man who
not only used his political standing on slavery to get into presidency by consistently changing his
opinion on them, but actually had an ulterior motive to free the slaves with a questionable
document, the emancipation proclamation. While some historians like Eric Foner in The Fiery
Trial: Abraham Lincolnand American Slavery and Richard Striner s Father Abraham: Lincoln s
Relentless Struggle To End Slavery would agree that this change can be described as growth,
others like James Oakes essay Freedom National: The Destruction of Slavery in the United States,
1861 1865 would say that it was all part of his initial plan to free the slaves. James M. McPherson
would complement Lincoln on his character, but other more daring historians would challenge the

shackles from four million black slaves are removed but not the physical shackles that tie them to

questionable. In McPherson s review of Cox s book, he mentions Vincent Harding who makes the
point that Lincoln did not free the slaves, they freed themselves by escaping from their master to
Union lines. Gates, Bennett and Lincoln himself also makes the observation that only 200,000
slaves were actually freed because of the Emancipation Proclamation. It was actually the thirteenth
amendment that had actually freed the slaves on January 1st,

elements from these three viewpoints. American anthropologist and historian Joseph A. Tainter is

Each of these seemingly invincible dynasties all went on to eventually collapse for a myriad of
reasons. The Western Roman Empire was marked by its vast territorial supremacy, as it conquering
its neighbors to absorb their energy surpluses whether in agricultural outputs, mineral resources, or

other logistical elements grew as well. This cost grew to the point there simply weren t enough
resources to defend against invasion especially when disgruntled peasants welcomed the removal of
Roman control. The Maya empire failed due to the burdens of competitive warfare between the
various city states of the region. This was unsustainable especially given the population was already
weakened by crop failure and drought. The Chaco Empire failed due to the communities coming to
the conclusion that the costs paid to the central faction to be redistributed outweighed the benefits

collapse of societies stemmed from the failure of problem solving institutions. That once these

Socio Political Allegory in Park Chan Wook s Oldboy
10 December 2015
Abstract One of Director Park Chan Wook s most renowned works is the film Oldboy (2003). At
face value, this film appears to be a regular mystery thriller film. However, after further analysis,
there are many parallels to contemporary Korean history and society. These parallels, or allegories,
become more apparent upon review of the film. The film contains references to Korea s tumultuous
history and contemporary culture, highlighting the multiple disappointments felt by the Korean
people (Seth). The main character Oh Dae su also stands in for the average Korean citizen while
his adversary, Lee Woo jin, represents upper class citizens, or chaebols, in Korea. After analyzing
these points, this paper argues that Oldboy does in fact serve as a socio political allegory for
problems faced in contemporary Korea. Problems that are addressed include democratization, class
structure and privilege, capitalism, and the importance of power and money in Korea (Kim).
Socio Political Allegory in Park Chan Wook s Oldboy While films are primarily for
entertainment, they often also stand as an excellent medium for spreading awareness about social
issues. It is often seen in cinema that a small point or effect actually has a much larger meaning.
Historically, directors have used to raise awareness and spread knowledge about social issues.

The Hebrew Bible
In the course of human history, few books have fascinated scholars to the extent of the Hebrew
Bible. This is not to say that biblical scholarship has been static. Instead, it has evolved over the
course of many centuries of scrutiny, both of preceding scholarship and the Bible itself. Scholarship
relating to the Hebrew Bible, then, is often grouped into two categories: the work of the ancient
interpreters and that of modern scholarship. Operating from two very different sets of assumptions,
there are many similarities and differences that can be found between the ways the ancient
interpreters and modern scholars read and understand the Bible. The ancient interpreters, according
to Kugel, were Jews and early Christians living and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The text clearly states that if man eats of the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, he will
instantly die. However, according to Genesis 5:5, Adam lived a total of 930 years. Ancient
interpreters viewed this not as a contradiction or error, but rather an instance which can be clarified
by using other passages (such as Psalm 90:4, which equates 1 day to 1000 years in the sight of the
Lord.) This is discussed in the book of Jubilees, an apocryphal work attributed to the ancient
interpreters. Thus, the ancient interpreters did not view Genesis 2:15 17 as contradictory or
troubling, but rather drew upon their foundational assumptions to aid their understanding of a text.
Modern scholars, however, have very a different understanding of the same text. Since the Bible
contains no cryptic meaning, the issue of Adam s death cannot be explained using other biblical
texts. This, then, must be an error which exists within the text. Modern scholars noticed something
else, however, which caused them to closely examine the language used in Genesis 1 3. The
portrayal of God in Genesis 1 differed greatly from the portrayal in Genesis 2 3. This led to another
key difference

go to prison in the modern day and many people have never heard or thought about it. Throughout
history, people have tried to find the truth about crimes and torture was an effective way of getting
a false confession. It is effective because it creates a situation for the victim where confessing, even

most false confessions arise. This situation where confessing to something you didn t commit is

examining the differing approaches to waging war of U.S. Grant and George B. McClellan one

He suffered what some might refer to in today s vernacular as something akin to analysis paralysis.
(McPherson, 1988, pp. 361 365)
McClellan s caution in waging war is evidenced clearly in the Army of the Potomac s Peninsula
Campaign. McClellan was charged with leading the assault on Richmond, delivering what could
have been a fatal blow against the Confederacy. During the Army of the Potomac s movements
towards Richmond, McClellan repeatedly delayed, believing he had inferior numbers to his initial
adversary, Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston. Johnston knew the caution McClellan was
prone to, and slowly drew McClellan closer to Confederate forces defending Richmond. At the
Battle of Seven Pines, Johnston reinforced the idea in McClellan s mind that caution was
necessary. (McPherson, 1988, p. 461) The surprise attach by Johnston s forces, though ultimately
defeated by the Army of the Potomac, delayed McClellan s advance as he called for more
reinforcements from Washington. Johnston was wounded in the battle, and replaced by General
Robert E. Lee. Lee, whose prowess as a tactician bordered on legendary, led a series of surprise
attacks against McClellan s Army of the Potomac in the Seven Days Battle. McClellan s forces
were pushed back, and he was relieved of duty as commander of the Army of the Potomac, until
later in 1862. (McPherson, 1988, pp. 462 470)
In contrast with McClellan stood U.S.

The Egg Drop Experiment
An egg is a fragile object that breaks when a small amount of force acts upon it, but many people
have tried to prevent it from breaking when it falls by building contraptions for it. The egg drop
experiment is generally used as an experiment to teach students about the concepts of physics.
There are many ways to prevent an eggfrom breaking when it falls. One example is to use a
parachute to slow down the descent of the egg. Another example is to wrap the egg in bubble
wrap to cushion the egg s landing. The technique you decide to use determines the results that you
get. I have always been interested in doing an egg drop experiment because it involves building
and dropping things. For my first MOS project, I decided to build different contraptions

Essay on Compare and Contrast Chinese and Japanese Mythology
Chinese and Japanese Mythology in Life Classic Chinese and classic Japanese mythology are quite
similar, in fact, they have more commonalities than differences. As examples, one can compare and
contrast the two mythologies in terms of characters, form and structure, creation myths, and
mythology s relevance to life. Animals and dragons also appear repeatedly in Chinese and Japanese
mythology. In this paper it will be shown that Chinese and Japanese mythologies are more similar
than different. The characters in both Chinese and Japanese myths have similar personalities and
reactions. For example, heroes in both mythologies use tricks, cunning schemes, and intelligence in
general achieve their goals, instead of just force and wit.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And although Chinese dragons are powerful fighters, they choose not to fight. Chinese mythology
has several distinctive qualities, one of the most individual is the fact that Chinese myths are very
concise: a single myth might only be one page long, but tells a story that could take up two or
more pages. For example, the sentence, The Wise Old Man at the River Bend stopped the foolish
old man shows an entire short scene. Japanese myths, on the other hand, are more story like in their
structure, and they are told simply. In fact, the Japanese myths are told so simply and this author
believes that they can be understood by children. Also Japanese myths have more of a definite
beginning, middle, and end.
Chinese creation myth
In the beginning, the universe was a black egg where heaven and earth were mixed together, and
in this egg was contained Pangu. He felt suffocated, so he cracked the egg with a broadax, and
the light, clear part of the egg floated up to form Heaven while the cold, heavy part stayed down
and formed Earth. Pangu stood in the middle, and he and the egg s two parts grew and grew until
he was nine million li in height.
When Pangu died, his breath became the wind and clouds, his voice the rolling thunder, and his
eyes the sun and the moon. His hair and beard became the stars in the sky, the flowers and trees
from his skin, the marrow in his bones became jade and pearls, and his sweat the good rain

Communication Breakdown In Sonny s Blues And Ysrael
Sevag Kassabian
English 102
Professor Robinson
Communication Breakdown
Communication problems entail so many variables ranging from the environment you re born in,
the cards you have been dealt with pertaining to genetics and parental guardians, internal and
external stimuli, etc... The lapses in communication in Sonny s Blues and Ysrael occur in external
and internal realms, and are differentiated by how the characters interact with one another and what
motivates their actions, in addition to their respective environments. Gayatri Spivak s The
Subaltern cannot speak! can be applied to characters in either story that are oppressed and/or

Sonny, on the other hand, has aspirations to achieve his dreams of becoming a jazz musician and
follow what he loves, which is very exciting for him and he knows the chances of achieving
stability are slim to none but it seems he firmly believes that there is no other reason to be alive
than to do what you love. On page 135, The narrator states Well, Sonny, you know people can t
always do exactly what they want to do (line 27 28) and Sonny retorts No, I don t know that, I
think people ought to do what they want to do, what else are they alive for? (lines 29 30) Their
different views about life become as clear as day when they argue over Sonny s future. Sonny
would choose a life of suffering and uncertainty over a life of mediocrity, stable yet slowly dying
on the inside with each passing day. For the majority of the story up until the ending where Sonny
performs at the jazz club, the narrator cannot understand why Sonny refuses to finish school and
acquire his degree. Sonny is adamant on pursuing his passion for music and making a career out
of it by any means necessary, and he is certainly not budging by having his brother try to confine
his talents. Sonny is quite sour that his brother doesn t listen to him and this statement on page
143 proves that: You walk these streets, black and funky and cold, and there s not really a living

Identity In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
To thine own self be true is a respected age old saying, but while it epitomises the value of self
understanding and integrity, society often forces false identities onto individuals. What ensues is a
culture where we constantly act in a way that is not genuine to who we are, to please family,
friends and to follow society s pattern. Revered writer William Shakespeare addresses this theme
over multiple texts, namely Romeo and Juliet, in which two star cross d lovers challenge their
identities with true love, and ultimately forfeit their lives as a result. Shakespeare presents the
notion that despite the pain and suffering that may come with being true to oneself, it is necessary
to achieve authenticity regardless of these consequences. He proves... Show more content on

Thus it is hard for Juliet to challenge her family to be true to herself and be with Romeo, as this
challenge could lead to death. In a similar encounter, Romeo decides that he must reconcile with
Tybalt as being with Juliet is being true to himself, and being with Juliet means becoming kin of
Tybalt. He completely disregards his status as a Montague and his hate for Capulets to prove his
sincerity, by stating, And so, good Capulet which name I tender as dearly as my own be
satisfied. This is another scenario in which Shakespeare shows the pain that comes with
challenging identity, by killing Romeo s dear friend Mercutio in the fight that ensues. The highly
revered modern film Dead Poet s Society (1989) continues Shakespeare s theme through Neil s
journey. Neil attends an elite private school and his parents wish for him to be a doctor, but his
true passion is acting. Upon deciding that [He s] gonna do it! Whether [his] father wants [him] to
or not! (ref) He commits to acting, yet his family don t accept him for his true self, only what they
want him to be. As a result he falls into depression and commits suicide. This is again evident of
the pain that can follow one becoming their true

Fiscal Deficit
Fiscal deficit
In a system of indicative planning reliance, fiscal policy plays an instrumental role in the
economy of any country. Planning Commission of India had pointed out in the Seventh Five Year
Plan that, the Fiscal policy has a multi dimensional role which particularly aims at improving the
growth performance of the economy and ensuring social justice to the people. However, when a
fiscal policy is not used discreetly, it is likely to create a fiscal mess.....A fiscal imbalance requires
immediate corrective measures because a large fiscal deficit is non sustainable.

Capital expenditure is made by the establishment to consistently maintain the operational activities.
In India, the fiscal deficit is financed by obtaining funds from Reserve Bank of India, called deficit
financing. The fiscal deficit is also financed by obtaining funds from the money market (primarily
from banks).
Revenue deficit: Revenue deficit is the difference between the revenue expenditure and the revenue
receipts (the recurring income for the government). When a country runs a revenue deficit it means
that the government is unable to meet its running expenses from its recurring income. To put it
simply
Revenue expenditure is the expense incurred for the normal running of the Government s various
departments and services, interest charged on debt incurred by Government, subsidies etc., whereas
Revenue receipts consist of tax collected by the government and other receipts consisting of interest
and dividends on investments made by Government, fees and other receipts for services rendered
by government.
Capital expenditure: It is the fund used by an establishment to produce physical assets like property,
equipments or industrial buildings. Capital expenditure is made by the establishment to

dams, roads, etc.

Dichotomy Of Woman
The personal is political is the idea that problems that relate to women s lives, such as abortion
and rape laws, child care policies, etc., can be solved through political action or means (Pateman,
299). The idea is for women to be more attentive in the politics that affect their lives. According to
Pateman, the idea is that public factors, such as laws and policies, are structured by personal
events (299). The dichotomy of the public/private has been divided by the state meanwhile
subordinating women to the domestic/private sphere (Pettman 5). Women have been excluded
from the political throughout history by notions of being considered different culturally or
biologically (Pettman 6). Because women are viewed away from public spheres, the political is
absent of women, thereby establishing the citizen as male, and power and authority being
synonymous with masculinity (Pettman 7). The public/private divide views women as mothers
and men as workers. Therefore, a state s view that women are mothers helps justify women s
unpaid work (Pettman 8). For example, states have viewed domestic violence as a private matter,
thereby reducing state responsibility for violence against women. However, legislation and policies
that seek to protect women against violence would make a huge difference for women (Pettman 8).

The Importance Of Race In Waking Up White
As a white individual that grew up in a predominantly white town, I rarely talked about race when
I was growing. The only time I typically talked about race was when we studied the Civil Rights
movement in school, and even then it was only talked about in a historical context. Consequently,
prior to this class, I assumed that racewas a biological difference of skin color and genetics. I
thought that people of other races would have a larger difference in genetic make up because race
was a genetic difference race between individuals. I then saw society using this difference as a
means to belittle certain races and favor others. However, after taking this class my
understanding of how we define race has changed dramatically. This class has proven my
assumptions wrong, and shown me that race is not biological but rather a social and historical
construct created to ensure a racial hierarchy. Debby Irving s book Waking Up White: And
Finding Myself in the Story of Race helped me to see that I never talked about race because I am
part of the dominant culture. While in her class at Wheelock College, Irving s African American
classmate spoke about how she had to talk about race because she is treated differently because of
it. (Irving, 2014).Like Irving, I have white privilege that allows me to not have to talk about race.
Consequently, I always assumed that racial differences were due to genetic variation. I found out
that this assumption was wrong when I started reading Waking

Take the Time to Read a Book
Leonard Pitts, Jr. says, I am not alone. He continues, There are at least two of us who have
forgotten how to read. He doesn t mean that people have forgotten how to read; rather people have
forgotten how to become one with the text. There is more than one person who feels that
concentration becomes blurred when the text in front of one requires full attention. Short ads and
topics one finds interesting are usually easier to read than intellectual books that are imposed on
one. It s a little funny, isn t it?
I liked this article because I identify myself with it. I often begin reading a paragraph and my brain
begins to move away from what my eyes are reading. The problem is that I don t realize it until I
get to the end of the page. Like Pitts, I have found myself drifting away or unable to sit down to
read material that my job requires me to study and discuss.

However, I want to achieve the same results Pitts did when he read a paper book titled What

began to unclench. He is referring to the time when he put himself on a chair that would keep him
from distractions. He achieved, once again, submerging in the text. I shall find an uncomfortable

Evaluation Of A Interview Or Interrogation
Interviews and interrogations are similar in that the officer must establish a relationship with
individuals and ask good questions in a planned out and controlled surrounding or semi controlled
setting while carefully listening and documenting the statements. Interviews are conducted to
gather information from individuals who may have detailed information that can further the case
such as information obtained from bystanders or the victim themselves. Interrogations, on the
other hand, can be perceived as a more adversarial approach to again or test the information
collected to obtain a confession or eliminate a suspect. According to Swanson et al. (2012), an
officer must be persuasive and knowledgeable in the psychological approach to avoid a defensive
personality as they establish a relationship in both the interrogations and the interview process.
Such is often portrayed in understanding the emotional aspect of empathy, fear, anger, and
sympathy so officers can control and respond appropriately in each given situation (p. 125). Either
way, planning a successful interview or interrogation requires officer s to do their research and to
be well versed in the facts of the case. This may require reviewing the evidence recovered and
checking out the background of the victim, suspect, and witnesses to have a better understanding of
their daily lives, perceptions, and suspect s motives (Swanson et al., 2012, p.126). Planning
successful interviews consist of seeking out those

The Shampoo to Beat All Shampoos
Mickel Angelo A. Martinez EN 11 R 49 On the 1st of July 2007, Unilever launched its new
shampoo brand: Clear Anti Dandruff Shampoo. It claims to rid the hair of men and women alike
of all dandruff, and nourish the scalp at the same time. Once it was launched, there was
immediately alot of buzz over the product. Maybe it was because the product contained Zinc
Vitanol, an ingredient not used in any other anti dandruff shampoo. Or maybe it was just because it
was marketed well, having high quality television commercials and the international pop star, Rain,
as its endorser. But nevertheless, after a few months the brand became incredibly popular, having
elite Filipino celebrities such as Piolo Pascual, Bea Alonzo, and John Lloyd Cruz in its... Show

In addition, the commercial mentions that the group is composed of ten million people, which
would be very appealing to consumers because if that much people are using the product, then it
must be effective and good. And in the same commercial they have three elite Filipino celebrities
to further persuade consumers into buying the product. This part would be similar to the first
commercial with Rain, but more appealing to the Filipino market, basically because the endorsers
in these commercials are Filipino celebrities. Another important factor seen in every Clear
advertisement is the use of the color black. Their campaign has always emphasized that the color
black meant freedom from dandruff. If you think about it, the color black for Clear can symbolize
shiny black hair, or confidence; because wearing black is often avoided by those who suffer from
dandruff. And this was creative; it makes the advertisements unique and eye catching because they
re the only advertisements wherein the people, the background, and pretty much everything is
colored black. Black is mysterious, classy, and elegant, and it makes it seem as though the Clear
commercials were perfume commercials, which makes them unique. It makes consumers feel as
though they re buying a premium product, even though the product is actually just about 10 pesos
more expensive than regular anti dandruff shampoos. When we talk

The Treaty Of Versailles And Japan
On January 1919, Saionji Kinmochi, Japan s representative to the Versailles Peace Conference
found himself seated alongside the leaders of the Big Four (Great Britain, France, Italy, and the
United States). This occasion marked Japan s status as one of the world s great powers after the
First World War. More importantly the Treaty of Versailles expanded the Japanese Empire
because it legalized Japanese annexation of former German concessions in China and its colonies
in the South Pacific. Although far from the battlefields of Europe, Japan was an active participant
of the First World War because of the Anglo Japanese Alliance. The alliance called for mutual

In 1858 Britain imposed another treaty called the Anglo Japanese Treaty of Amity and Commerce
which forced Japan to make concessions to Britain such as the opening of the ports of Hakodate,
Kanagawa, and Nagasaki to British commerce. For a while parts of Japan were turned into semi
colonial status, which motivated the Meiji regime to modernize and strengthen Japan. Although
Britain imposed unequal treaties to Japan, it helped Japan to modernize, because Britain played
host to the Japanese delegation that studied the political system, industries, education, and the
militaries of the western world. The military cooperation between the two countries was especially
strong because the leaders of the Imperial Japanese Navy were keen on modelling the organization
after the British Royal Navy. Since the 1870 s, Japanese sailors and officers were sent to the
United Kingdom to study the methods and organization of the Royal Navy. Moreover the newly
formed Imperial Japanese Navy acquired some of its first vessels from Britain. In 1894, a new
treaty called the Anglo Japanese Treaty of Commerce and Navigation was signed which paved the
way for the Anglo Japanese Alliance in 1902. Unlike the previous two treaties between Britain and
Japan, the 1894 treaty was a breakthrough agreement because it heralded the end of the unequal
treaties and the system of extraterritoriality in Japan. British citizens living in Japan were now

  • 2. Evaluation Capacity Analysis In this portion of the evaluative assignments, there will be an analysis to assess the role and function of evaluations and processes with the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). ADHS is a large and complex agency which encompasses many departments, divisions, and offices. As a result, each component and program collects different data and evaluates their capacities differently. Therefore, for this evaluation capacity analysis, the program that will be focused on is, the High Risk Perinatal Program/ Newborn Intensive Care Program (HRPP/NICP) within the Bureau of Women and Children s Health(BWCH), Office of Children s Health (OCH). This capacity analysis draws on data collected from previous evaluations, as well as data compiled from conversations with agency staff. With this data, the paper will discuss forms of data collected, the processes used to collect data, key players, reporting procedures, a discussion of how data is used within the agency, and a discussion of previous evaluations undertaken to assess the HRPP/NICP program. • 3. Journal Entry Reflection In last week s journal entry I stated that this week PVEPD would be conducting active shooter training, but the training is postponed for now. During this week s shifts, I finished the putting together the emergency operation plan binders, cleaned the briefing room, and went to the department s shooting range where I had the opportunity to shoot AR 15 and a Glock 22. I spent both Monday and Tuesday s shift at the shooting in the basement of the policedepartment. The shooting range which is located underneath the department and can be accessed through the parking garage. There are two rooms in the basement one room is storage for the gunrange and the other room is the actually shooting range. Each room requires a special type of key and passcode... So I started off wiping all the handles on the cabinets and doors and then moved to the tables in briefing. In the kitchen, I washed the dishes that were in the sink and made a fresh pot of coffee. I also wiped down the kitchen table and all the appliances in the kitchen. I also made sure to give the kitchen phone a good wipe down as well. Once the cleaning part was done I emptied both the kitchens and briefing trash cans in the dumpster ... • 4. Alexander Hamilton Vs. Thomas Jefferson Selina Lewis October 17, 2014 Government Ms. Bishop Alexander Hamilton vs. Thomas Jefferson During the ratification of the Constitution of 1787, the Federalist and Anti federalist views created tensions and barriers between the two. Federalists, who supported the making of a new document, the Constitution, differed from Anti federalists who believed that the new system threatened liberties and failed to protect individual rights. Anti federalist, such as Patrick Henry, James Winthrop and Samuel Adams, believed in state s rights and only urged the need of alterations to the Articles of Confederation rather than dispose of it. Likewise, several arguments arose including the issue of slavery, the duties of the Supreme Court, but majorly the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights is the general name for the first ten amendments in United States Constitution. These were proposed to alleviate the fears of Anti Federalists; furthermore, well known Founding Fathers disputed that the Constitution should not be ratified because it failed to protect the basic principles of human liberty. Contrastingly, Hamilton and Madison alike disagreed with the beliefs of the Anti federalists and believed that the Constitution did not need a Bill of Rights; it would create a parchment barrier that limited the rights of the people, as opposed to protecting them. However, they eventually made the decision to willingly establish the said amendments into the Constitution which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Twelfth Night Social Order Change in Social Order If there was no way of out of your current social status, would you be happy with it? Twelfth Night is one of the great comedies written by William Shakespeare. The play showcases many truths about society. Status was important in the Elizabethan Age, and people could not raise in the social ranks. The purpose of turning over the social order in Twelfth Night is to reveal that status is just a label through showing love does not abide by these boundaries, status does not display true character, and status is not obtained by those who aim for it. First of all, love does not have any boundaries because it is merely the attraction and adoration of another person, no matter their age, status, race, and beliefs. Many characters in Twelfth Night fall in love with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Malvolio is tricked into thinking the lady of the house is in love with him and does everything he can to please her. Malvolio believes he will be the Duke of the house with servants at his feet and loads of fortunes. Malvolio pleases the countess by smiling, cross gartering, and wearing yellow stockings all of which are absurd and Olivia laughs at him for his foolishness. Olivia later feels sorry for Malvolio because he was considered a madman for thinking she was in love with him and partially for that he could move up in the hierarchy. Sebastian, on the other hand, was placed in a great situation. Or I am mad, or else this is a dream. Let fancy still my sense in Lethe steep. If it be thus to dream, still let me sleep. (IV.iii.145) Olivia was fooled by Sebastian s similar appearance to Cesario and asked Sebastian to marry her. Of course he said yes because someone wealthy was offering. Sebastian was not looking to move up in the social order, but when presented with the chance he took it. • 6. Compare And Contrast Arizona And Virginia Where to live? This is a question many people ask themselves, but narrow it down to two states such as Virginia and Arizona. While on the surface, Arizona and Virginia are beautiful states that most people would love to live in. But both states have their drawbacks from weather to the size of their state and population and politics. In another light they both have quite a few number of benefits such as accessibility and law enforcement. First most, Arizona is known as one of the hottest states with temperatures sometimes reaching 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature has been proven to be able to cook food items such as eggs and cookie dough. In addition to having hot weather, during summer Arizona begins its monsoon season with heavy winds and occasional rain. While this may not be appealing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They have access to clean water, electricity, internet, cell service, and much more. Also, they have access to modern medical facilities for humans and animals. While they may be similar in accessibility, the median cost of homes differentiates significantly. The median costs of homes in Arizona are about $223,700. This comes to about $142 per square foot. • 8. Charles Bukowski s Poem Radio With Guts Radio With Guts Charles Bukowski was a man who didn t have an easy going childhood like a typical child should have. Bukowski and his mom were physically abused by his father which later caused him to be a barbarous bitter young man. However, even though he was a man full of vexation he was very famous for his poems and short stories. One of his most memorable poems to me was a Radio with guts because of the theme that I got out of this poem. I strongly believe that the theme was no matter what you do to a person physically, mentally, and emotionally you can never crack them split open. This theme is so memorable because it acknowledges to never let others put you down. Also even when people are hurting you to always get back up and find a solution for it. Lastly, remove all inadequate memories in your life so it s not taking a toll on your future. Therefore, I feel that radio with guts should be a poem everyone should read because to show others no matter what your going through never break for anybody because it will soon show how fragile you may be. • 9. Service For Sony Computer Entertainment To begin this letter, I would first like to congratulate you on your impressive fifteen years of service for Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE), and I have been affected by your wonderful service to such a prosperous company. With an impressive background and dedication to a company whose products many people of all ages have enjoyed, you have indirectly touched countless people throughout time and have probably caused many youths to go into gamedesign and development, some of whom may even be your colleagues or co workers. I wish you continued luck and success. However, there is a point to this letter, and given you are an incredibly busy man, I shall get to the point of my writing you, and perhaps give insight to the consumer side and help with continued success. Since the PlayStation 3was introduced into the market, as well as the competing consoles, downloadable content has become commonplace among many games to this date and has been the bane, or joy, of many consumers. Now, as a businessman, your first responsibility to the company is to ensure success and to partner with the companies and organize the content for the console. Which, is any sound business strategy, to earn revenue and get a return on profit (or investment), on the product that has just been released that took two or more years to produce. As the president of Sony America, you may not have direct control over the content the actual gaming companies produce or their decisions for downloadable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This offended the Charanians and they told McClain that measuring the area would be very costly due to the odd angles of the space. The Charanians insisted that McClain could rely on their measurements of the area. 15.In early 2005, McClain obtained a copy of Octagon s earthquake insurance, which disclosed the correct size of the shopping center as 12,800 square feet, rather than 11,835 square feet the Charanians used in calculating McClain s share of the common expenses. 16.McClain also discovered her unit was only 2,438 feet rather than the 2,624 square feet represented. • 11. Xbox Vs. Xbox Systems With so many kind of gaming consoles out there it can be hard for new gamers to decide which one to use. PlayStation, the Nintendo WII, and Xbox are the three big players and usually everyone will like one, but the Xbox systems are the best way to go. The Xbox systems have always been my favorite consoles, since my first one I started to prefer them over the others. All of the other consoles that I have tried I have ended up having multiple problems with and get frustrated trying to fix them because I don t have the extra spending money to buy new ones. PlayStation consoles are what I used prior to discovering the Xbox. One of the biggest problems I always found with these consoles is how delicate they are. They have always been made with ... Causing you to have to move slowly to navigate anything from a game to just the home screen of the console. When you re intensely focused on a game you do not want to move slowly, you want to be able to move freely, and just be able to react to anything. Another issue I always had with the Nintendo WII is trying to just find a good game. Most of the games are made for children or are family appropriate games. For a person who is really into gaming and is above ten years old, don t get truly interested in the gameplay of these kind of games. These people like games with good action and stories that keep you focused and thinking. The games that Nintendo put out for the WII are just too simplistic. Then when you actually find the few games that are well known names you know that you like are end up hard to control properly. So than you try to mess with the apps that are provided with the WII and it always has a slow internet connection that causes the apps to glitch and take a long time to load. The Houston Equal Rights Ordinance Introduction HERO, the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance, according to the City of Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (2014), covers nondiscrimination against sex, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, familial status, marital status, military status, religion, disability, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, and pregnancy. The ordinance lists sections of protection within city services and employment, contracting with the city, public accommodations, private employment, and housing (Exh A, 2014). (Ord. No. 2014 530, В§ 2(Exh A), 5 28 2014) Although the ordinance protects several classes of people within five separate categories, the ordinance became the policy in favor of men in women s bathrooms. With a lot of attention on transgender people within the last year alone, the media was able to manipulate public perception by focusing on one aspect of the ordinance. Many Houstonians, still weary of the LGBTQ community and ill informed, were fully against the ordinance, claiming to defend their women and children against predators. Voters believed the ordinance created an open door for sex crime to increase in the city. Consequently, the ordinance failed to pass with a 60% opposing vote. The ordinance for equality should have passed, however, Houstonians focused only on their false perceptions and myths of sexual predators, such as strangers and queers. Meanwhile, Don Weatherburn as director of BOCSCAR expressed his concern as he stated; it is naГЇve to imagine that a young offender, after years of involvement in crime, will suddenly become law abiding . As a result, police discretion is a very important aspect of prosecuting juvenile crime, as it is clear that in some cases going to court should be the outcome for young offenders. However the role of discretion for police lies in being able to decide which cases and which circumstances warrant the result of court, as opposed to the multiple alternative forms of punishment that police have the power to enforce. A controversial aspect of the criminal justice system is the Crown s use of discretion when it decides to make charge negotiations. This means that the crown offers the accused a lesser charge should they plead guilty to it. In doing so, the crown benefits from the assured conviction (maintaining peace and security by an efficient means) and the accused benefits from a lesser sentence. However by employing powers of discretion in this case and making a deal with offenders, is seems to be at the expense of victims as there if insufficient retribution. Leader and Managing the Changes in Health Care Leader and Manager Healthcare is constantly changing and advancing, which requires nurses to possess complex leadership skills that can be utilized to accomplish the most successful outcome possible for each individual patient (Titzer, Phillips, Tooley, Hall, Shirey, 2013). Managing these fundamental challenges necessitates the ability to acquire knowledgeable research and implement it into a strategic plan of care for individuals and/or communities (Titzer et al., 2013). In this paper I will explain why I chose the leader and manager role, and I will examine the challenges and opportunities faced with this role. I will also discuss the theories related to this role, and I will review the competences and experience that must be achieved for this role. Leader and Manager Role I personally chose the leader and manager role due to the fact that I have the desire and ability to empower individuals and communities to achieve the highest goals possible. As a new nurse, I experienced the negative attitudes of nurses that seemed to be stagnant in their roles. I witnessed the day to day care that was delivered to the patients without the incentive to go above and beyond to make a difference. However, my next job exposed me to a team of nurses that collaborated and strived to make a difference in the lives of their patients on a daily basis. Being exposed to a caring environment with positive attitudes made me realize what my role in nursing should be. Challenges and Opportunities ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As presented in Appendix 1, in those years the Allianz Group faced fluctuations in its total income but managed to keep its business profitable, with total expenses averaging around 93% of its Total Income. In terms of growth, the company is expected to grow at a slower pace, 2,4% in 2012 due to the variety of cataclysms faced throughout the year. In coming years however, the strong Real GDP growth of 5,5% in the emerging markets (representing close to 50% of company s clients), a steady growth of 3,22% is to be expected. The growing revenues however do not seem to have large impact on the total expenses: the third quarter interim report for 2012 shows lowering expenses, totaling to 91% for 2012. • 17. The Flaws Of Foots Moral System Essay Shortcomings of Foots Moral System In Morality as a System of Hypothetical Imperatives, Philippa Foot argues that moral judgments are in hypothetical imperatives rather than categorical imperatives. For Kant, categorical imperatives are actions that are good in themselves and do not depend on desires, while, hypothetical imperatives are actions that are good to some purpose (306). According to Foot, hypothetical imperatives alone serve as the basis of moral judgments because categorical imperatives give us no reason to obey them. In this paper, I will explain foots argument that moral judgments are hypothetical imperatives. I will then argue that that Foot s theory of moral judgments fails in two ways. First, placing moral judgments in hypothetical imperatives fails to designate moral from immoral contingent ends, and second, the hypothetical imperative weakens morality by making it too optional. To show this, I will first argue that placing moral judgments in hypothetical imperatives begs the question of what is the moral basis of its own contingent end. I will then propose a decision procedure for determining the moral value of the contingent ends of hypothetical imperatives. Then I will argue that the Leningrad does not solve and that basing moral judgments in hypothetical imperatives still makes morality too optional. In her paper, Foot argues that moral judgments must exist in either categorical or hypothetical imperatives. If moral judgments are not in categorical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Unbeknownst to many South Carolinians is the persistent povertycorridor in which certain counties struggle much more than others along Interstate 95. Allendale County stands out even amongst its peers as a county that is struggling to address multigenerational poverty. This paper deals with Allendale County poverty beginning by offering insight into poverty issues within South Carolina, followed by a SWOT analysis, a finagling offering a few possible solutions. Persistent Poverty in South Carolina Poverty within the United States is defined as having an income below a federally determined poverty threshold. Poverty thresholds were developed by the United States government in the 1960s to benchmark levels of subsistence. Over time these thresholds are often adjusted to account for inflation; it is now typical for the federal government to adjust the poverty threshold levels annually. Poverty levels represent the government s estimate of the point below which a family has insufficient resources to meet their basic needs. He proposed a tax on customer service calls being outsourced to another county (The Observer, 2015). While the tax sounds a bit odd at first, there is actually for rhyme to the senator s reasoning. The senator s goal is to ultimately keep more jobs on United Statessoil. Many jobs in the United States have been lost to cheaper labor overseas. This proposal aims to bringing someone of those jobs back to America by implementing a high taxation on customer service phone calls that are being answered outside of the United States. Schumer s policy states, the tax per outsourced call would be 25 cents for the company. In addition to informing the caller of this, companies would be required to release reports quarterly on total calls and the percent outsourced (The Observer, 2015). This would be a hefty tax if implemented and would frustrate many companies. However, the senator s goal is job creation. The purpose of this homework is to analyze this proposed taxation, propose two reasons for and two reasons again Senator Schumer s policy, and to then expand on my opinion of this policy. The first segment consists of those residing in rural areas. This market segment would not be ideal for our organization. Rural regions have a low population, and the majority of people who live in rural areas are more likely to be indifferent about the benefits that our company offers. This indifference may be caused from their isolated, secluded location, and their lack of a pressing need to keep up with a modern lifestyle. Therefore we feel that rural locations wouldn t result in as much business for our establishment as other possible locations. Another regional market segment to consider is suburban areas. On one hand, suburban locations would be feasible for our business because customers in these locations are mostly families. Young families will benefit from our product because it presents them with a healthier alternative to taking their kids out for traditional ice cream. On the other hand, suburban locations wouldn t benefit Cowsmoo Milk Bar as much as our next option because our goal is to get people in and out quickly so we can sell a large volume of products. He explored specifically the issue of child maltreatment from an ecological model. Belsky (1988) conceptualized the etiology of child maltreatment as occurring from four contexts: the individual (ontogenic development), the family (microsystem), the community (exosystem), and the culture (macrosystem). The child was positioned at the core of this model. In keeping with evolving understanding of child maltreatment from research and clinical experience, Belsky (1993) expanded this ecological perspective and introduced a developmental ecological analysis of child maltreatment. This approach included the developmental context , the immediate interactional context , and the broader context . Belsky made a distinction stating that aspects within the child, innate and or biological, play a role in the child s experience of maltreatment and developmental dysfunction. These include aspects such as the child s age, health and behaviors. Others see it as the complete disintegration of economic prospects and commerce. Some even think of it political ruin with the demise of states and ruling factions that maintain order. The most general definition for collapse can includes elements from these three viewpoints. American anthropologist and historian Joseph A. The Western Roman Empire was marked by its vast territorial supremacy, as it conquering its neighbors to absorb their energy surpluses whether in agricultural outputs, mineral resources, or human capital. With the rapid growth of the Empire, the cost of maintaining order, production, and other logistical elements grew as well. This cost grew to the point there simply weren t enough resources to defend against invasion especially when disgruntled peasants welcomed the removal of Roman control. The Maya empire failed due to the burdens of competitive warfare between the various city states of the region. • 37. Socio Political Allegory Of Park Chan Wook s Oldboy Mehtasim Mahfuz CCS 394 Professor Pi Ju Liang Socio Political Allegory in Park Chan Wook s Oldboy 10 December 2015 Abstract One of Director Park Chan Wook s most renowned works is the film Oldboy (2003). At face value, this film appears to be a regular mystery thriller film. However, after further analysis, there are many parallels to contemporary Korean history and society. These parallels, or allegories, become more apparent upon review of the film. The film contains references to Korea s tumultuous history and contemporary culture, highlighting the multiple disappointments felt by the Korean people (Seth). The main character Oh Dae su also stands in for the average Korean citizen while his adversary, Lee Woo jin, represents upper class citizens, or chaebols, in Korea. After analyzing these points, this paper argues that Oldboy does in fact serve as a socio political allegory for problems faced in contemporary Korea. Problems that are addressed include democratization, class structure and privilege, capitalism, and the importance of power and money in Korea (Kim). Socio Political Allegory in Park Chan Wook s Oldboy While films are primarily for entertainment, they often also stand as an excellent medium for spreading awareness about social issues. Instead, it has evolved over the course of many centuries of scrutiny, both of preceding scholarship and the Bible itself. Scholarship relating to the Hebrew Bible, then, is often grouped into two categories: the work of the ancient interpreters and that of modern scholarship. Operating from two very different sets of assumptions, there are many similarities and differences that can be found between the ways the ancient interpreters and modern scholars read and understand the Bible. The text clearly states that if man eats of the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, he will instantly die. However, according to Genesis 5:5, Adam lived a total of 930 years. Ancient interpreters viewed this not as a contradiction or error, but rather an instance which can be clarified by using other passages (such as Psalm 90:4, which equates 1 day to 1000 years in the sight of the Lord.) This is discussed in the book of Jubilees, an apocryphal work attributed to the ancient interpreters. Thus, the ancient interpreters did not view Genesis 2:15 17 as contradictory or troubling, but rather drew upon their foundational assumptions to aid their understanding of a text. Modern scholars, however, have very a different understanding of the same text. Since the Bible contains no cryptic meaning, the issue of Adam s death cannot be explained using other biblical texts. This, then, must be an error which exists within the text. Modern scholars noticed something else, however, which caused them to closely examine the language used in Genesis 1 3. The portrayal of God in Genesis 1 differed greatly from the portrayal in Genesis 2 3. This led to another key difference ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

False Confession and Wrongful Convictions, they are a big reason that innocent people still go to prison in the modern day and many people have never heard or thought about it. Throughout history, people have tried to find the truth about crimes and torture was an effective way of getting a false confession. It is effective because it creates a situation for the victim where confessing, even though the victim might be innocent, would be better than not confessing. This situation is how most false confessions arise. This situation where confessing to something you didn t commit is better than not confessing is clearly seen taking place in multiple areas of Arthur Miller s 1953 play, The Crucible. During the Army of the Potomac s movements towards Richmond, McClellan repeatedly delayed, believing he had inferior numbers to his initial adversary, Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston. At the Battle of Seven Pines, Johnston reinforced the idea in McClellan s mind that caution was necessary. Identity In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet To thine own self be true is a respected age old saying, but while it epitomises the value of self understanding and integrity, society often forces false identities onto individuals. What ensues is a culture where we constantly act in a way that is not genuine to who we are, to please family, friends and to follow society s pattern. Revered writer William Shakespeare addresses this theme over multiple texts, namely Romeo and Juliet, in which two star cross d lovers challenge their identities with true love, and ultimately forfeit their lives as a result. He completely disregards his status as a Montague and his hate for Capulets to prove his sincerity, by stating, And so, good Capulet which name I tender as dearly as my own be satisfied. Dichotomy Of Woman The personal is political is the idea that problems that relate to women s lives, such as abortion and rape laws, child care policies, etc., can be solved through political action or means (Pateman, 299). The idea is for women to be more attentive in the politics that affect their lives. According to Pateman, the idea is that public factors, such as laws and policies, are structured by personal events (299). The dichotomy of the public/private has been divided by the state meanwhile subordinating women to the domestic/private sphere (Pettman 5). Women have been excluded from the political throughout history by notions of being considered different culturally or biologically (Pettman 6). Because women are viewed away from public spheres, the political is absent of women, thereby establishing the citizen as male, and power and authority being synonymous with masculinity (Pettman 7). The public/private divide views women as mothers and men as workers. Therefore, a state s view that women are mothers helps justify women s unpaid work (Pettman 8). For example, states have viewed domestic violence as a private matter, thereby reducing state responsibility for violence against women. Consequently, prior to this class, I assumed that racewas a biological difference of skin color and genetics. I then saw society using this difference as a means to belittle certain races and favor others. However, after taking this class my understanding of how we define race has changed dramatically.
