Lebana Essay
After its partial withdrawal from most Lebanese territory in 1978 following Operation Litani, Israel
maintained a military occupation of roughly 10% of Lebanon through a self declared nine mile deep
security zone in the southern part of the country (Ruebner, 2000: 1). The security zone was designed
to act as a buffer zone between Israel and Lebanon, in order to minimize cross border attacks (Ibid). In
defending the security zone with the IDF, the SLA bore a large share of the fighting against Hizballah
(Party of God) and to a lesser extent, Amal (Hope), two Lebanese Shi a organizations that fought to
oust Israel from the security zone (Ruebner, 2000: 2).
The SLA militia emerged out of a battalion of the former Lebanese army, after ... Show more content

Haddad operated independently of the Beirut government despite efforts of various Christian parties to
control him (Ibid). Lahad, a former Lebanese army officer, was chosen by the Israelis to head the
militia after Haddad s death in 1984 (Ibid).
Israel paid an average monthly salary of between $500 and $800 to SLA members and together with
maintenance and infrastructure expenditures, it is estimated that it spent a total of 35 million annually
on the SLA and its dependents (Ruebner, 2000: 2). Israel s control over the SLA was pervasive,
especially that it trained, equipped, advised, resupplied and paid the salaries of the troops (Directorate
of Intelligence, 1986). SLA units in the zone sustained most of the casualties and bore the brunt of the
fighting (Ibid). According to an SLA spokesperson, since its inception to March 2000, the SLA
suffered 621 military fatalities and 200 civilian fatalities, compared to the IDF roughly 250 fatalities
in the security zone , since its establishment in 1985 to April 2000 (Blanche, 1999: 78 sandbags).
Upon forming his government in July 1999, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak pledged to withdraw
the IDF from Lebanon within a year responding to a mounting frustration over continued Israeli
casualties in Lebanon (Ruebner, 2000: 3). On the 5th of March 2000, the Israeli cabinet unanimously
endorsed Barak s plan to withdraw by the 7th of July 2000 (Ibid). Seeking to minimize its casualties,

Causes Of Teen Suicide
Teen Suicide
Teenage suicide is a major public health concern in the United States. According to the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention there were approximately 5,079 suicides in 2015. This occurred
mainly between the age of 15 and 19. This is the second leading cause of death among this age group.
There are different reasons why teenagers may have suicidal thoughts and commit suicide. This essay
will identify the different causes of suicide among teenagers and propose solutions to the problem.
Teen suicide may be defined as the intentional act of a teenager ending his or her own life. Teen
suicide attempts are more common among females when compared to males even though male
teenagers are the ones who actually carry out the act of suicide. The higher rates of suicide in the
United States are attributed to the changes in the suicide methods. Suffocation which happens through
strangulation and hanging is the most lethal method of suicide that is considered by teenagers. The
other forms of suicide that are used by teenagers include firearm suicide in which the teenagers use
firearms to end their lives (Holliday and Vandermause 168). Teen suicide affects both male and female
teenagers even though males are at an increased risk of suicide. Teen suicide rates in the United States
doubled between 1960s and 1990s. There is no clear explanation on this trend even though the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention attributes this to increased reporting. There has been

Global warming refers to a clear and constant increase in the temperature of the earth s climate.
Scientists agreed that there are several reasons caused the global warming. For example, human
activities, such as mining, industry and agriculture contributed to release the carbon from soil. Soil is
rich in precipitated carbon content it saved thousands years ago, and green house effect. United
Nations held many conferences to discuss global warming, control it and eliminate it, many decisions
made, but the remedy is not active or not equal to the size of problem.

Governments (not all) and many people are working hard to minimize the emission of the green house
gases, by find new technologies and uses, for example the use of efficient windmill in some suitable
regions or the use of solar cells in other regions to produce clean electrical power. Moreover, hydrogen
produced by renewable sources, nuclear power and natural gas. In the other hand, scientists invented
efficient tools to absorb carbons from air, as the artificial tree that absorb carbon gases from air and
transferred them to a solid state, which is uncomplicated to collect them and put in the ground, store
deeper in earth. This process called carbon sequestration.
Increasing the forestland and farms, green areas filled with trees and plants who can absorb carbon

Abjection By Maria Irene Fornes
Through her dramas, Maria Irene Fornes investigates issues that concern female struggle in the male
dominated society. In her play, Fornes discuss the female suffering to achieve identity completion. In
fact, Fornes focuses on strong female characters who are able to speak of their longing for enlightment
of their passions, or who mare political or philosophical observation (Fornes, Creative danger 15). She
is interested in portray female characters that fight to create their identity and challenge the
domination of men over their destinies. Mala Renganathan argues that Fornes metaphor in her plays is
women s psyche seen as a dual component of victim / tyrant or the oppressed / oppressor as within
herself (40).
In her theory of abjection Kristeva argues that to each ego its object , and to each superego its object

Through the play, Julia acts as Fefu s double. In fact, Julia is Fefu s abject. Through the play, she
speaks the truth about herself and about Fefu. Gayle Austin argues that Fefu and Julia together, overtly
bonded and overtly in conflict, mare an open statement of women s predicament in public forum of
the theatre (The Mad Woman, 80).
While Fefu identifies herself with male view of women, Julia sees her sexuality as a source of evil.
She believes that women are sexual spirits that is why they do not enjoy sexuality, but men are not
sexual spirits that s why they enjoy sexual affairs and do not have to be punished for that. She reveals
how women are defined as sexual tools and how they are devalued.
Julia: [..........] Women s spirit is sexual...... Their sexual feelings remain with them till they die. And

sequence of mathematical coded electronic instruction by man to fabricate a model to solving
problems or to improve upon preexisting ones. Also, one may just say it is an application in which
human apply to solving problems. As the world keep changing, so do technology. Today technology
has inspired a lot of change into the way we do things or relate to certain problems. We will all agree
that, we cannot talk about technology without mentioning inventions. Most importantly, it is an
undeniable fact that, all the sophisticated gadget we see around were invented through the application
of science and technology. Some of these gadgets such as cell phones, computers, tablets, etc. have
indeed made life so easy to operate and also help in creating non existing jobs. Burkhardt, M. E.,
Brass, D. J. (1990) states that, the computer system offered distributed processing capabilities,
including file editing, data base management, statistical analysis, spreadsheet analysis, and word
processing to all employees. Prior to the introduction of distributive processing capabilities, an
external computing facility was accessed for computer analysis of research data for all employees .

Effective Use Of Metatheatre In Shakespeare s Hamlet
Metatheatre is a theatrical device that has been frequently applied to by playwrights in order to
provide their works with a greater richness and in a sense, complexity. One example of the use of this
device is found in William Shakespeare´s Hamlet. The use of this resource served him not only as a
weapon to teach the audience a moral lesson, but thanks to it, he was also able to raise fundamental
questions about the nature of life and the human being.
We cannot deny that one of the main plots of the play is built around theatre within theatre. Hamlet
uses it in order to demonstrate the culpability of his uncle, the king Claudius. Besides, there are other
examples in the play that make us think as if were watching a theatre play within the ... Show more

Hamlet is a character that performs his own madness. Therefore, the fact of finding a character that is
playing a role within his major role in the play, makes the audience lose reliability of what we are
watching inside it. Thus, the idea of theatre as a device that would serve the playwright to show a part
of reality is questioned by the English writer. People can no longer trust in what they are watching, for
some characters might be performing a role within a major role. Characters in Hamlet become more
like human beings, become real, and as real people they might act accordingly with what they want to
achieve and would not doubt in changing their behaviour in order to do that. This is what Hamlet does
and there are several instances in the play that demonstrate it. For example he says to Claudius that the
performance by the comedic actors is something he must to worry about when he knows that the play
did actually had a function. Furthermore when talking with Polonius we are told that Though this be
madness, yet there is method in t (Shakespeare 47) implying that it is actually reason what is guiding
the protagonist. Therefore, there is theatrical awareness in some characters. Also, the security cameras
used in the film adaptation served as a way to remind us that what we were watching is was play. As if
it was necessary to make the audience remember that what they are watching is not reality, but

This can be shown in areas that are considered fenceline communities. These are communities that are
located directly in the midst of toxic pollution. Residents who live in these communities often accept
their conditions of their surroundings and wait for disasters to happen. These disasters include
chemical spills or toxic contamination that can demolish their communities at some point. These
individuals are also put at a higher risk for possible terrorist attacks. Moreover, residents who live
nearby also suffer by having their wealth stolen through lowered property values. To show example, in
1992 the National Law Journal found discrepancies in the way the Environmental Protection Agency
enforced its Superfund laws (Bullard Wright 2012). In the same year Michigan s Department of
Environmental Quality signed off on permits allowing Genesee Power Station to build an eighty
million dollar incinerator for construction use. This incinerator was built beside a predominately black
low income neighborhood (Burke 2017). The residents were forced to be exposed to particulate
matter, carbon monoxide, lead, and acidic gases. Being within walking distance from a chemical site
would eventually begin to affect their quality of life and health (National Research Council). If
disasters are to take place they are often blamed on natural occurrences. This concept tends to be
pushed by corporations who do not want to own up to

Marriage Private By Stephanie Coontz
For the past, few centuries the concept of marriage has become a matter of church and state. Those
who wish to become a married couple within the United States must get permission from the states by
obtaining a marriage license. According to Taking Marriage Private by Stephanie Coontz for sixteen
centuries marriage was valid based upon the couples wishes. If both the man and women claimed they
had exchanged vows, then the Catholic Church would recognize it as a valid marriage. Today all states
require that a couple obtain a marriage license from the state if they want the marriage to be legal and

In the United States Constitution, the Ninth Amendment is often forgotten or not commonly taught.
The ninth amendment is often denoted as Enumeration of Rights. This amendment outlines the human
rights that were not written or protected by the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Marriage is a right.
Everybody and anybody should have the right to marriage. Putting rules and regulations on marriage
is a clear violation of the United States Constitution and a clear violation of our unalienable rights.
Marriage has only become a way for the government to collect extra tax money and fees. Marriage is
only a business for the government. Instead of marriage being a civil union of a man and a woman. It
is a union between a man, woman, and government. For many gay, bisexual, or lesbian couples
privatizing marriage would allow them to marry who they want freely without any government say.
Therefore, no institution will be able deny marriage to nontraditional marriage couples because of
personal beliefs of government employees or because of state laws. Supporters of marriage
privatization believe it is a very personal thing between two people who want celebrate their life
together. Marriage after all is a celebration of the connection between one another. Anybody should be
able to marry whoever they want without having to worry about what the government would say about
that marriage. Rather if it is right or wrong. The government shouldn t interfere with marriage no

The Robot Invasion Analysis
Running from denying the fact that robots are taking over is only delaying the inevitable, robots will
soon take over they could be among the people right now looking like humans. In the passage The
Robot Invasion by Charlie Gillis he exclaimed that robots are on the rise and getting used to the fact
would be beneficial. This work by Charlie Gillis made his point proficiently when he uses the
foundations from others in robot engineering.
The robot invasion talks about bringing the people to a day when robots simple and complex, are a
part of everyone s daily lives. It could be possible that robots would become more like people to the
point that it would be all right to share work and home spaces. But a couple of problems arise when it
comes to that, one problem is that nothing stays the same no matter how long so it would be
problematic if robots do not have the capacity to respond. Next is the fear that the robots are going to

people dislike robots that do not act perfectly like humans. For something that was created for the

Difference Between Nominal And Nominal Scale
Nominal Scale
Nominal scale is also known as labels. It is most commonly used for labelling variables without any
quantitative values assigned to it. In this classification of data is done without any measurement.
Example:
We can understand the nominal scale in more detail with below example:
A normal question asked to a boy that what is the colour of his hairs and below options are given to
him.
a.) Black b.) Brown c.) Gray d.) Blonde e.) Other
If you notice in above example all the mentioned options are mutually exclusive which means no
overlap and even none of them carry any numerical significance. The best way to remember is that
nominal seems more like a name and the nominal scale seems like labels.
Let s take one more example:
What is your gender?
a.) Male b.) Female
In this case, the nominal scale has only 2 categories i.e., male and female and this kind of nominal
scale are known as dichotomous.
Sometimes in statistical analysis, non numeric variables are given numeric values. For example,
students who eat healthy breakfast are +1, the students who eat an unhealthy breakfast are 0 and the
students who do not eat breakfast are 1. This is the way to get who is in which group but don t really
have value.
Ordinal Scale
An Ordinal scale is a measurement which looks at the variables where order matters but the difference
does not matter. While thinking of the ordinal you must think about the word order. Hence, it is easy
to remember as in this scale only order

management and workers, and lack of clarity in the goals of change. He formulated these results by

U.S. Policy on Libyan Chemical Weapons Proliferation Essay
U.S. Policy on Libyan Chemical Weapons Proliferation
Introduction
A legacy of aggression exists between the United States and Libya which pervades every facet of U.S.
foreign policy, particularly in the non proliferation arena. The absolute distrust of Revolutionary
Leader Colonel Mu ammar Abu Minyar al Qadhafi and his government expressed by U.S. officials has
prompted the United States to play the role of policing non proliferation of nuclear, chemical, and
biological weapons, the so called weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), in Libya. As Libya is a party
to the Pelindaba Treaty for the establishment of the African nuclear weapon free zone (ANWFZ), it is
bound to a commitment of nuclear non proliferation. However, this treaty ... Show more content on

The definition of proportionality, however, is difficult to ascertain and the doctrine can only be
invoked in the case of attack. Therefore, U.S. use of nuclear weapons in response to the present
Libyan production of chemical weapons is unjustifiable.
The chemical weapons non proliferation regime boasts a strong treaty in the form of the Chemical
Weapons Convention (CWC), but as Libya is not a party to this treaty, its restrictions have no bearing
on Libyan chemical weapons production. Libya, therefore, presents a problem in that its chemical
weapons production constitutes a world threat, but its actions are fully legal. The Geneva Protocol of
1925 merely prohibits the use of chemical weapons, not their production, stockpiling, or possession.
Thus, though U.S. policy options are constrained by its agreements and security assurances, the
United States must seek out legal and effective means of ending Libyan production of chemical
weapons.
Background
Libya has long been considered a state threatening the interests of the WMD non proliferation
regimes. Though Libya is a non nuclear weapon state party to the NPT, [its] commitment to the accord
is suspect because of [its] demonstrated interest in acquiring nuclear arms (Jones 1995:15). This
resolution became more suspicious when Libya joined Bhutan and India in casting a negative vote in
the overall 158 to 3 vote in favor of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (Jones 1995:16).

Theories And Theories Of Development
Theories of Development According to authors Boyd and Bee Psychologists use theories to formulate
hypothesis, or testable answers, to why questions about behavior. At the broadcast level there are three
families of theories including psychoanalytic theories, learning theories, and cognitive theories. These
theories attempt to provide developmentalists with compressive explanations for just about every fact
of human development. Additionally, theories that deal with the biological foundations of
development and interactions between these factors and development and interactions between these
factors and the environment extend developmentalists understanding of age related changes beyond
that provided by three major families of theories. Thus, the most comprehensive explanations of
development phenomena often include ideas from the psychoanalytic, learning, and cognitive
approaches as well as from biological and contextual theories (Chapter 2: Theories of Development.
Page 27 In The Growing Child) The psychoanalytic theory also known as psychoanalysis is a method
of observing and treating personality disorders which is used in psychotherapy. The psychoanalytic
theory includes the idea that there are different factors that happen to people during childhood that can
contribute to how they later function as an adult. The psychoanalytic theory is commonly used to treat
anxiety and depression disorders. It is only providing psychological relief through the open

the details in the sculpture. Even though Buonarroti was reticent to use superfluous adornments he did
believe that certain aspects were better told in the details.
NON FINITO
In various works he does indeed use the non finito as a technique. In the Pietà from Florence, the non
finito on Nicodemo s head is a strategic solution to avoid the similarities between the saint and himself
and in the Day and the Dawn statues it is a device to flee from a rigorous iconographical definition.
The non finito not only destroys the definition of the forms, but also the meaning behind them, giving
them conceptual incongruities and the fascination that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s the non finito which manifests his emotivity in the figurative art, which gives an interpretation to
his poems as rants of a disenchanted soul. Thus he developed a mystical ideal of poetry as he did of
sculpture. Neither had to be finished to produce its effect or convey the proper idea.
The non finito is as a result of its own definition present in all aspects of his life. Imbuing his creations
with a deeper sense that I think could only be explained by his words in the poems as they are musings
on these concepts that Michelangelo tries to show through the art he makes. It was gives his work a
more conceptual significance as it forgoes the most explicit of forms to make the viewer understand
what is in front of them.
Both tondi in marble of the Virgin and the Saint Matthew shows how he leaves behind all refinement
in the execution of details, giving way to a more solid and synthetic art. Many, say this is the
florentine style being replaced by the roman one. These are the first artworks that reveal that
Michelangelo has surpassed the classical harmony in favor of a more monumental

Positive And Negative Effects Of Absolutism In Europe
During the 16th century to the 18th century, Monarchs in Europe used absolutism. Monarchs such as
King Louis and Peter The Great used absolute tactics because they wanted to consolidate power from
the nobility. They wanted to consolidate power from the nobility because they wanted to take the
power they lost during the middle ages. King Louis and Peter the Great used all multiple means to
reclaim power. They used their power to glorify themselves and their country. The practice of
absolutism can be argued to have both positive and negative effects.
King Louis XIV of France used absolute tactics. He used absolute tactics from the late 17th century to
the early 18th century. What does king Louis do to create absolutism? King Louis creates absolutism
by building the most brilliant court ever known to Europe, Versailles. He built the court because he
wanted the nobility to live there. They didn t really have a choice because he commanded them to
leave their castles in the country. King Louis wanted the nobility to live with him because he wanted
to watch over them. He wanted to watch over them because he wanted to take their power. Without
knowing it, the nobility challenged each other. They all fell into the habit of trying to please him. It
was very unwise to be disobedient or disrespectful to him while living at Versailles (DOC 2). King
Louis wanted absolute power because he wanted to be the one and only to make decisions. He did not

The Ideological Origins Of The American Revolution Essay
Bailyn, Bernard. The Ideological Origins of the American Revolutions. Cambridge: The Belknap
Press of Harvard University Press, 1992. Thesis: In The Ideological Origins of the American
Revolution, Bernard Bailyn argues that the ideology of the American Revolution was inspired by a
variety of source such as enlightenment writers, past revolutions, and political corruption in the
homeland of England. Themes: A theme that is prominent throughout the text in many forms is liberty.
One of the causes of revolutionary thought is in America is the thought that liberty was being
threatened in England, and therefore would spread to America. Liberty became a dream for some in
America once independence from England was obtained, as slavery thrived here in irony. Liberty
branched out past the physical sphere as well as Freedom of Religion became based on the idea of
religion being the liberty of conscious (263). Another theme of the text is fear . Fear of loss of liberty
in their homeland drove many colonists to begin thinking in Revolutionary terms, as previously
mentioned. There was also fear on the English side of an American rebellion. Fear is what drove
England to force a standing British Army on the Americans. These fears would not subside and would
eventually lead to war as neither side would back down. Evidentiary Base: One of the biggest primary
sources that Bailyn utilizes is pamphlets from the pre Revolutionary Revolutionary era in America.
Pamphlets, as Bailyn

Pet Ownership In Australia
Introduction
In 2013, Australia has one of the highest rates of pet ownership in the world, with more than 5 million
household out of 7.6 million households in Australia owning a pet (Animal Health Alliance, 2013).
The most common pet owned by households in Australia are dogs, where an estimated 4.2 million pets
in Australia are dogs (Animal Health Alliance, 2013). Due to the high companion animal ownership
rates and the need to attend to the welfare of pets, companion animal veterinary services are in
demand among pet owning households. Pet owners spend approximately $1.7 billion on veterinary
services a year which include visit to the veterinarian for vaccination, general check up, dentistry and
de sexing (Animal Health Alliance, 2013). De sexing a companion animal is defined as a surgical
procedure intended to permanently remove gonads of the pet and is considered a routine medical
procedure that involves visits to a veterinarian (Cocia Rusu, 2010). The de sexing rates are relatively
high in Australia, with 78% of dogs de sexed (Animal Health Alliance, 2013).

Illegal Immigrants In America
Illegal immigration is a very controversial topic in America today. There is a controversy over whether
or not America should be allowing these illegal people in, and whether or not they should receive
privileges reserved for American citizens. The humanitarian argument is to let everyone who needs
help in and to allow them to establish residency and be afforded all of the privileges of a citizen,
which would include welfare, public schools, etc. However, the overall state of the country must be
considered over that of the happiness and comfort of non citizens. People need to realize there are
many negative consequences to letting these people in, besides the fact the crime of crossing the

When the Irish came to America they were persecuted and discriminated against, many not being able
to find work being turned away with signs such as Irish need not apply. However, the real problem
began when immigrants from South America began crossing the nation s southern border to come here
illegally. An estimated eleven million illegal immigrants are in the United States today. That is an
increase of roughly one third since 2000, when there were 8.5 million illegal immigrants, according to
the Center for American Progress.(Goldfuss) Also eighty six percent of illegal immigrants have been
living in America for seven years or longer.(LeMay) Many argue that becoming a legal immigrant is
next to impossible and that it is too hard and the process takes too long , meaning that by the standards
they have created there are not enough visas awarded and the process to legally emigrate takes too
long, so they decide to take it upon themselves to commit a crime and cross the United States southern
border. (Herreras) The current legal channel for people to become citizens is through getting either a
green card or a work visa, which can be seasonal or year round.(U.S. Department of State.) However,
there are only so may awarded so not every person will be able to enter America legally, but that does

Personal Statement On The American Cancer Society
. Jettowyne, (The Compassionate Friends, 2011, November 4), stated, Friends don t want to say your
child s name, because they think it will make you feel bad . Being open and asking or commenting on
the child is essential in the healing process and showing support.
Other important ways to comfort a friend is by acknowledging the child s death. Crying with the
parent(s). Being available for additional childcare or rides to the funeral home. It is also important to
respect each parent s grief process.
The American Cancer Society (2015) reports some key ways to assist a friend when they are grieving:
Acknowledge the situation. Example: I heard that your_____ died. Use the word died That will show
that you are more open to talk about how the person really feels.
Express your concern. Example: I m sorry to hear that this happened to you.
Be genuine in your communication and don t hide your feelings. Example: I m not sure what to say,
but I want you to know I care.
Offer your support. Example: Tell me what I can do for you.
Ask how he or she feels, and don t assume you know how the bereaved person feels on any given day.
Being a good listener and being there is very comforting to a person in grief. Giving reassurance and
showing empathy are also key in helping a friend in need. This may be done by going on errands for
them, offering to do housework, shopping or bringing over food dishes. In addition, it is important to
remember that grieving parents may

Christian Worldview Essay
At any given point in time, and with any given human being, an individual s opinion and behavior
expose their worldview by demonstrating their perception of what they believe to be true. The
worldview of every person has a comprehensive perspective of reality in every aspect of life. It is
important to note that a person s worldview might not actually possess the truth, but it is their truth,
and that is what makes it their worldview. Consequently, one s personal understanding seeps into
every matter of one s life and the lives of others, both in private and public issues. Furthermore, the
essence of an established worldview is shaped by external influences such as one s cultural
environment, upbringing, companions, and the media. As a result of differing and incompatible

Diary Of Anne Frank Relationship Essay
The Diary of Anne Frank Relationship Essay
The relationships in The Diary of Anne Frank between the characters has a prodigious change over

attitude, or connection. You really won t understand if you ve only done a first read. Here s just a little
boost of the idea of the story s relationship in a bunched essay.
The Van Daan relationship severely increases with selfishness, attitude, with not much connection as
shown. You may find that in the story at one point, Mr. Van Daan wanted to sell Mrs. Van Daans coat
for the money. You may think that he would want the money for food and water, but that s not the
case. Mr. Van Daan wanted to sell Mrs. Van Daan s coat for cigarettes, hence the selfishness. Mrs. Van
Daan also sulks and is upset that her husband is selling her coat, so Mr. Van Daan doesn t care about
her coat, except getting money for it. In paragraph 75, page 161, a part of the selling of the fur coat,

and wait for me to finish looking around the house and then we can leave. I said, it may take a little bit
for me to finish looking in the house, but they said, that s ok. I finished our conversation and then I
went back into the house. When I went back into the house, I heard something say DO NOT GO ANY
FURTHER in a belligerent way. I was paralyzed when I heard something say that, I thought that was
kind of an irrational and debacle way of saying it, but I don t think they meant to say it in a malicious

The War On Drugs Should End
The United States absurdly spends billions to concentrate its efforts on the interdiction of substance
use. Law enforcement and labors of exclusion have not been met with reductions in the accessibility
of drugs in America. Aside from being remarkably expensive, drug task agencies have demonstrated
racial discrimination and unequal anguish distressed by minority communities. Ultimately, it costs the
government extreme amounts of taxpayer dollars to maintain this futile war while disregarding the
rights of American citizens.
Minority Target
Since the birth of the United States, people of color have been the object of many societal injustices.
For example, the War on Drugs has produced a staggering number of African American and Latino
arrests and incarceration rates throughout the U.S. Although the levels of drug consumption and
peddling are similar amongst Caucasians, minorities are largely more susceptible to be detained,
prosecuted, and imprisoned for drug law violation. And between federal and state governments, this
discriminatory war costs billions of dollars annually to enforce. The war on drugs should end because
it is awfully biased towards minorities, the epitome of ineffective policy, and unconstitutional.
First, programs such as D.A.R.E. and the Just Say No campaign were launched to bring drug
awareness to children due to the War on Drugs. However, this operation should end because it has

  • 2. Lebana Essay After its partial withdrawal from most Lebanese territory in 1978 following Operation Litani, Israel maintained a military occupation of roughly 10% of Lebanon through a self declared nine mile deep security zone in the southern part of the country (Ruebner, 2000: 1). The security zone was designed to act as a buffer zone between Israel and Lebanon, in order to minimize cross border attacks (Ibid). In defending the security zone with the IDF, the SLA bore a large share of the fighting against Hizballah (Party of God) and to a lesser extent, Amal (Hope), two Lebanese Shi a organizations that fought to oust Israel from the security zone (Ruebner, 2000: 2). Haddad operated independently of the Beirut government despite efforts of various Christian parties to control him (Ibid). Lahad, a former Lebanese army officer, was chosen by the Israelis to head the militia after Haddad s death in 1984 (Ibid). Israel paid an average monthly salary of between $500 and $800 to SLA members and together with maintenance and infrastructure expenditures, it is estimated that it spent a total of 35 million annually on the SLA and its dependents (Ruebner, 2000: 2). Israel s control over the SLA was pervasive, especially that it trained, equipped, advised, resupplied and paid the salaries of the troops (Directorate of Intelligence, 1986). SLA units in the zone sustained most of the casualties and bore the brunt of the fighting (Ibid). According to an SLA spokesperson, since its inception to March 2000, the SLA suffered 621 military fatalities and 200 civilian fatalities, compared to the IDF roughly 250 fatalities in the security zone , since its establishment in 1985 to April 2000 (Blanche, 1999: 78 sandbags). Upon forming his government in July 1999, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak pledged to withdraw the IDF from Lebanon within a year responding to a mounting frustration over continued Israeli casualties in Lebanon (Ruebner, 2000: 3). On the 5th of March 2000, the Israeli cabinet unanimously endorsed Barak s plan to withdraw by the 7th of July 2000 (Ibid). Seeking to minimize its casualties, the IDF ... According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention there were approximately 5,079 suicides in 2015. This occurred mainly between the age of 15 and 19. This is the second leading cause of death among this age group. There are different reasons why teenagers may have suicidal thoughts and commit suicide. This essay will identify the different causes of suicide among teenagers and propose solutions to the problem. Teen suicide may be defined as the intentional act of a teenager ending his or her own life. Teen suicide attempts are more common among females when compared to males even though male teenagers are the ones who actually carry out the act of suicide. The higher rates of suicide in the United States are attributed to the changes in the suicide methods. Suffocation which happens through strangulation and hanging is the most lethal method of suicide that is considered by teenagers. The other forms of suicide that are used by teenagers include firearm suicide in which the teenagers use firearms to end their lives (Holliday and Vandermause 168). Teen suicide affects both male and female teenagers even though males are at an increased risk of suicide. Teen suicide rates in the United States doubled between 1960s and 1990s. Thus, the idea of theatre as a device that would serve the playwright to show a part of reality is questioned by the English writer. People can no longer trust in what they are watching, for some characters might be performing a role within a major role. Characters in Hamlet become more like human beings, become real, and as real people they might act accordingly with what they want to achieve and would not doubt in changing their behaviour in order to do that. This is what Hamlet does and there are several instances in the play that demonstrate it. For example he says to Claudius that the performance by the comedic actors is something he must to worry about when he knows that the play did actually had a function. Furthermore when talking with Polonius we are told that Though this be madness, yet there is method in t (Shakespeare 47) implying that it is actually reason what is guiding the protagonist. Therefore, there is theatrical awareness in some characters. Also, the security cameras used in the film adaptation served as a way to remind us that what we were watching is was play. As if it was necessary to make the audience remember that what they are watching is not reality, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is most commonly used for labelling variables without any quantitative values assigned to it. In this classification of data is done without any measurement. Example: We can understand the nominal scale in more detail with below example: A normal question asked to a boy that what is the colour of his hairs and below options are given to him. a.) Black b.) Brown c.) Gray d.) Blonde e.) Other If you notice in above example all the mentioned options are mutually exclusive which means no overlap and even none of them carry any numerical significance. The best way to remember is that nominal seems more like a name and the nominal scale seems like labels. Let s take one more example: What is your gender? a.) Male b.) Female In this case, the nominal scale has only 2 categories i.e., male and female and this kind of nominal scale are known as dichotomous. Sometimes in statistical analysis, non numeric variables are given numeric values. For example, students who eat healthy breakfast are +1, the students who eat an unhealthy breakfast are 0 and the students who do not eat breakfast are 1. This is the way to get who is in which group but don t really have value. Thesis: In The Ideological Origins of the American Revolution, Bernard Bailyn argues that the ideology of the American Revolution was inspired by a variety of source such as enlightenment writers, past revolutions, and political corruption in the homeland of England. Themes: A theme that is prominent throughout the text in many forms is liberty. One of the causes of revolutionary thought is in America is the thought that liberty was being threatened in England, and therefore would spread to America. Liberty became a dream for some in America once independence from England was obtained, as slavery thrived here in irony. Liberty branched out past the physical sphere as well as Freedom of Religion became based on the idea of religion being the liberty of conscious (263). Another theme of the text is fear . Fear of loss of liberty in their homeland drove many colonists to begin thinking in Revolutionary terms, as previously mentioned. There was also fear on the English side of an American rebellion. Fear is what drove England to force a standing British Army on the Americans. These fears would not subside and would eventually lead to war as neither side would back down. There is a controversy over whether or not America should be allowing these illegal people in, and whether or not they should receive privileges reserved for American citizens. The humanitarian argument is to let everyone who needs help in and to allow them to establish residency and be afforded all of the privileges of a citizen, which would include welfare, public schools, etc. However, the overall state of the country must be considered over that of the happiness and comfort of non citizens. People need to realize there are many negative consequences to letting these people in, besides the fact the crime of crossing the border has already been committed. Despite people ... When the Irish came to America they were persecuted and discriminated against, many not being able to find work being turned away with signs such as Irish need not apply. However, the real problem began when immigrants from South America began crossing the nation s southern border to come here illegally. An estimated eleven million illegal immigrants are in the United States today. That is an increase of roughly one third since 2000, when there were 8.5 million illegal immigrants, according to the Center for American Progress.(Goldfuss) Also eighty six percent of illegal immigrants have been living in America for seven years or longer.(LeMay) Many argue that becoming a legal immigrant is next to impossible and that it is too hard and the process takes too long , meaning that by the standards they have created there are not enough visas awarded and the process to legally emigrate takes too long, so they decide to take it upon themselves to commit a crime and cross the United States southern border. (Herreras) The current legal channel for people to become citizens is through getting either a green card or a work visa, which can be seasonal or year round.(U.S. Department of State.) However, there are only so may awarded so not every person will be able to enter America legally, but that does not give the right to the excluded for them to illegally cross into the country and act as if they are one of the ones which a green card or a ... Christian Worldview Essay At any given point in time, and with any given human being, an individual s opinion and behavior expose their worldview by demonstrating their perception of what they believe to be true. The worldview of every person has a comprehensive perspective of reality in every aspect of life. It is important to note that a person s worldview might not actually possess the truth, but it is their truth, and that is what makes it their worldview. • 35. Descriptive Essay About A Old House It was a dark and spine chilling night and my friends and I stumbled across a really creepy house. This old house was big and did not have any windows to peek inside of it. I also thought that it looked very ominous, sinister, and abandoned. My friends wanted to check the house out, but I didn t want to go in. I thought the house looked eerie and ghastly, but they said, you ll be fine your just a chicken. I wanted to shriek it looked so scary, but instead, I said, I am not a chicken, I ll show you. I went into the house by myself... there were COBWEBS, SPIDERS, and BUGS OH MY! I suddenly heard my friends outside talking and I came out to see what the commotion was all about? They were shaking and said, we don t want to go into the house anymore, so I said, ok then just stay outside in the dark and wait for me to finish looking around the house and then we can leave. I said, it may take a little bit for me to finish looking in the house, but they said, that s ok. I finished our conversation and then I went back into the house. When I went back into the house, I heard something say DO NOT GO ANY FURTHER in a belligerent way. I was paralyzed when I heard something say that, I thought that was kind of an irrational and debacle way of saying it, but I don t think they meant to say it in a malicious way. I then heard something say YOU SHALL NOT GO ANY FURTHER! the second time, they then started to say it incessantly, it kind of got annoying. Then something said, ARE ... • 37. The War On Drugs Should End The United States absurdly spends billions to concentrate its efforts on the interdiction of substance use. Law enforcement and labors of exclusion have not been met with reductions in the accessibility of drugs in America. Aside from being remarkably expensive, drug task agencies have demonstrated racial discrimination and unequal anguish distressed by minority communities. Ultimately, it costs the government extreme amounts of taxpayer dollars to maintain this futile war while disregarding the rights of American citizens. Minority Target Since the birth of the United States, people of color have been the object of many societal injustices. For example, the War on Drugs has produced a staggering number of African American and Latino arrests and incarceration rates throughout the U.S. Although the levels of drug consumption and peddling are similar amongst Caucasians, minorities are largely more susceptible to be detained, prosecuted, and imprisoned for drug law violation. And between federal and state governments, this discriminatory war costs billions of dollars annually to enforce. The war on drugs should end because it is awfully biased towards minorities, the epitome of ineffective policy, and unconstitutional. First, programs such as D.A.R.E. and the Just Say No campaign were launched to bring drug awareness to children due to the War on Drugs. However, this operation should end because it has become a war on the people, especially minorities. Major arrest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
