Observation Infant Child Observation
On October 16, 2017, I observed in the infant room from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.. The child I
observed was a female and just turned eight months old. Indicators given by the child during the
observation, show that the child is progressing at a normal developmental pace and even
excelling in other areas. Through observing her, I noticed her motor skills were excelling
beyond what was expected. She was pulling herself up and standing. I would often notice her
attempting to walk after she was standing or even balancing on one foot. She would often be
standing on her toes and using her arms to hold herself up. She showed a lot of strength in her

Once it landed, she headed for the ball to check out what happened. More than once, I witnessed
another infant in the room take the toy she was using away from her. Surprisingly, instead of
crying, she decided to solve the problem. She simply, looked around and grabbed another toy.
This also shows that she is beginning to self regulate her emotions. Also, when she was trying to
get ahold of the papers I had in my lap, I decided to hide them from her to observe what her
response would be. She curiously looked around trying to determine where it went. She didn t try
to find the paper, but she recognized that it disappeared. She was more attracted to the exciting and
noisy objects. There was one object in the room that worked like a noisy version of an hour class.
After I would flip the toy, she would watch the beads travel to the bottom, then she attempted to flip
the toy herself. She used her thumb and index finger to grab onto the object and even though she

Theodor Adomo and Max Horkheimer created a term known as culture industry which is the
commercial commodification, and the mass production of pseudo culture by corporations (1947,
p.29). The creation of the culture industry resulted in the standardisation of the cultural form, which
eliminated an individual s ability to think critically. This occurred because of the greed that
capitalism creates, the heads of production firms mass produce cultural goods that are aimed at
people s desires to increase profitability. They argued that capitalism abandoned its liberal roots and

How do people really cope with tragic events that can alter their life style? The loss of a loved
one, being laid off from work, serious sickness, terrorist attacks and many other horrific events are
examples of difficult experiences we could face in our lives. Many of which will respond quite

Telling myself I can accomplish anything and that the horrific things I went through should not
define me. Not to mention, that I can do so much more in life because I went through something
so horrendous. Continuing through this hardship I started reverting to times of tragedies where
all I did was make excuses for and realize there may have been a purpose for it. There may have
