No One In Government Pays The Slightest Attention To The
No one in government pays the slightest attention to the root of the undocumented immigrants
complaints and demands. None of the present reform efforts in Congress is relevant to or
addresses the true cause of these immigrants claims for legal rights as other Americans. Consider
you were walking home at night. A pickpocket, suddenly, jumps on your front with a gun pointed
at you and demands your valet. Unwillingly, you surrender your valet and he lets you go. The
valet contained all the money you owned. You hide in a corner and follow him to his resident.
You know you cannot face him openly to get your valet back. You try to find a way to get in the
house attempting to retrieve your valet or take some of his belongings in return. He... Show more

citizens. This responsibility comes from the U.S. government s bloody hands in establishing
influence and dominance in their native country in order to sustain stability and security for the
operation of the U.S. corporate entities who ravaged the nation s resources and wealth, subjugated
its working class and suppressed its people through a dictatorial government under American
protection. For example consider the power and influence of the American Fruit Company in
Central and South America established and operated for decades at the cost of tens of thousands
lives of innocent citizens whose only crime was to have control over their own land and national
resources. The history is well illustrative of the American direct or indirect and often bloody
suppression in countries such as Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama,
Colombia, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia,
Iran and Iraq. In some of these countries the U.S. military operation had amounted to the level of
genocide such as Vietnam where 2 to 4 million human lives were destroyed including total
population of many villages; Indonesia, where by the help of the U.S. government the socialist
government of Sukarno was overthrown and replaced by that of Suharto who slaughtered about

Essay Remember the Titans Rhetorical Analysis
Multicolored Dream In the movie Remember the Titans Coach Boone gives a speech on the
battle ground of Gettysburg. Coach Boone was hired and made head coach over the nominated
Hall of Fame Coach Yoast. Racial tensions were building between team members because their
school, T.C. Williams became integrated. His team of football players had a problem with open
prejudice and hostility between the black and white players. After a day of bad practice, Coach
Boone took his team out for a run in the middle of the night through the forest to deal with the
issue. When the players were finally given a chance to breathe they realized that they were at the
Civil War battle ground of Gettysburg. He utilizes his strong demeanor and gives a speech... Show

The strong imagery paints a picture of the battlefield and draws a connection between the past
and present leaving the football players with a feeling of loss. In the beginning of the movie,
Coach Boone had to build ethos for himself because of racial differences. Coach Boone, being of
African American descent, was hired over their current caucasian coach and this caused the
white football players to boycott the team until Coach Yoast became their assistant coach. Coach
Boone lead his team by example and his dedication to his craft. He showed the players that he
did not care about what color you wore on your skin, but of the sport that brought them together.
During his speech he states I don t care if you like each other or not. But you will respect each
other. And maybe, I don t know, maybe we ll learn to play this game like men (Boone). He uses
the built trust aspect of ethos very well to close this speech. Another aspect of ethos Coach
Boone used in his speech was borrowed credibility from Gettysburg. Towards the end of the
speech he told the boys to take a lesson from the dead (Boone) and realize that if they do not stop
these actions of hostility towards each other they will not be able to move forward as a team. The
Civil War, and the Civil Rights Movement were turning points in American history and he used
facts about the battle to build his ethos. Racial differences were still strong during the 1970s and if

The Impacts of Hydraulic Fracturing
The impacts of hydraulic fracturing can be hard to analyze due to a lack of data available. The
following case studies explored the effects of fracking on animals and humans within areas of
hydraulic fracking sites. The case studies were completed in six states in which hydraulic
fracturing sites has increased in recent years. These six states are Colorado, Louisiana, New York,
Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. The studies focus on the effects of animals because they may serve
as sentinels for human exposure, with shorter lifetimes and more opportunity for data collection
from necropsies (Bamberger Oswald, 2012, p.52). The case studies also take into account human
exposure within the same area as the animals affected. The first case studyin the article observed
two homes within a short distance of 25 shale wells. These two homeowners both had farm
animals on their property and used well water for their personal water source. Both homeowners
reported incidents relating to wastewater exposure for both their animals and humans. One
incident was when a truck carrying wastewater drove away from the impoundment site with an
open valve, releasing approximately 20 gallons of wastewater onto the impoundment access road
(62). The water that was released was also spilled onto a road near one of the homeowners
property. Another incident occurred when the barriers for the wastewater impoundment failed
causing a spill into a creek. It is believed that this occurrences could have

Mythical Creature Research Paper
The belief in mythical creatures has been circling in the minds of humans for ages. Many people
throughout history even claimed to have evidence of a large variety of these creatures. A mythical
creature is a type of animal or hybrid. For centuries, humans have been inspired by animals and
fossils to create fascinating stories about intriguing creatures. These fantasies were not confined to
just one area but originated from all over the world. Mythical creatures are often hybrids of types of
animals, insects, or humans such as the minotaur. This creature has the body of a man and the head
of a bull. The minotaur is often known for its monstrous and threatening behavior. Another example
of a crossed mythical creature is the griffin. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Medusa vowed to be celibate her entire life as a priestess of Athena until she fell in love with
Poseidon. Because of Medusa s actions she was punished and put under a curse that whoever
she looked at would be turned into stone. Medusa was also was made into a hideous creature
with wings and venomous creatures such as snakes in her hair. The dragon is a very popular
mythical creature. It is usually described as a very large winged serpent. The dragon appears in
many stories and movies around the world. It has become one of the most talked about mythical
creatures. There are many people who actually believe that dragons existed at one time but, no
evidence has ever been presented. The dragon is known for its massive size and fire breathing
capability. They are usually talked about as very disruptive but intelligent creatures. The kraken,
this creature is probably one of the most well known of the fictional mythical sea creatures. This
monster is known for its huge size, sharp teeth, and terrifying capability to take whole ships under
in just a few minuets. The modern day view of this terrifying creature is a large squid like

The Gold Rush Of California
Gold is a very precious metal that with in any community is pressed very highly. To a surprise to
several, after the United States won California from Mexico. A land owner had found several
pieces of gold along the river bed of the San Francisco. Circumstances lead to this land owner not
wanting to reveal this information to the world. Nevertheless, the information was spread so
began the Gold Rush in California. This magnificent event gave light to great change but was it
the right move for progress and growth for the new founded country the United States. Growth in
my eyes is defined as the increase of wealth among all the population that is living in a general area.
Wealth should be defined as in a way where a family can live with good... Show more content on

However the turning point was the way the environment was being effected by the means of
destroying the land to get to the gold dug into the ground. Over all the gold rush was looked at
as a great passage in the right direction for developing a modern world but it ended up leading us
back, words, back into an era where monarchy rules the world. The daily life of a miner was far
from perfect. The way the papers and other means of propaganda had portrayed getting rich
quick, but it was far from easy. All the equipment that was needed to start out as a miner was for
the most part outrageous. The earning wages from gold was sixteen dollars an ounce pg.8. Even
so, the work was backbreaking. There was swarms of minors trying to get rich quick. To many
miners that traveled to get a piece of the precious metal they where resorted to taking land from
previous land owner just to get ahead in the Gold Rush. Not to mention that the living conditions
where also outrageous. The rentals of hotels and other business structures, whether of boards or
of canvas, reached even dizzier heights than did commodity prices pg.8. This spaces where set
prices at 3,000 dollars a month or 40,000 dollars for a year, there was also other prices around the
area of San Francisco. And in some cases miners where resorted to living in a room filled to the
brim with other miners. This lead to very poor conditions for any one to live in. But nothing was
better then being rich in a few months or

Jung Typology Test And Personality Temperament
The Jung Typology Test determined that my personality temperament was ISFJ, being 41
percent introvert, 22 percent sensing, 6 percent feeling, and 25 percent judging. My Keirsey
Temperament is the SJ or Guardians group, meaning that I am a protector and nurturer. This
paper will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of this personality group, as well as an
application of its relevance in the workplace. This paper will conclude with a discussion of how
to apply the Christian worldview for the successful implementation of my personality
temperament in the workplace. Project One: Personality Type and Temperament Step 1 I
Introvert The Jung Typology Test (1998) found that I am 41 percent introverted. Kroeger,
Thuesen, and Rutledge (2002) describe introverts as needing time to think things over when
faced with a decision, and they prefer stating their opinions without being interrupted. This is
definitely accurate for me, because I do not like to jump to quick decisions, I need time to think
over what I have to say, and if it is something important, then I do prefer rehearsing it a few times
before discussing it with someone else. Kroeger et al. (2002) state that introverts enjoy having
time to themselves and will often need time alone to recharge after engaging in social events. In
addition, introverts are usually described as being shy, and enjoy sharing special events with one
or two close friends (Kroeger et al., 2002, p.18). I enjoy

No Good And Nobody Is All Evil
Nobody is all good and nobody is all evil. Throughout all history, whether it be in the United
States or somewhere else in the world, there has always been people who are infamous for
unspeakable crimes or for their tremendous acts of bravery. There has always been people who
have seemed to be the literal definition of good and evil and have always been made out like
they were exactly that: completely good or completely evil. It s easy to label a person like that,
to ignore any of their other actions that may contradict what the world knows them as, but that s
the thing about labels; nobody can truly fit completely under them. Even someone like Adolf
Hitler was once upon a time an okay person before he was completely driven by fear and
bitterness to the point he actually attempted to wipe out an entire group of people. The question is,
if a person s actions were courageous or wicked enough, should they only be defined by those
actions? Someone like Nathan Bedford Forrest, who was a racist his whole life, someone who was
involved in the trading of slaves and even joined the Ku Klux Klanafter the war because he was so
bitter about the defeat of the Confederacy; should he be defined by only these hateful actions?
The answer depends: because while no one is completely good or completely evil like Adolf
Hitler, Forrest believed that one group of people was superior to another; and instead of silently
hating, Forrest decided to take action and help fight for a cause that went

Lab #6: Preparation of 2 chloro 2 methylbutane an Sn 1 Reaction
Purpose
The purpose of this experiment was to prepare an alkyl halide, 2 chloro 2 methylbutane by
reacting 2 methyl 2 butanol (t amyl alcohol) with hydrochloric acid. Alkyl halides are of wide
interest because they are widespread and have diverse beneficial and detrimental impacts .The
overall reaction is given below:
Procedure
1 ml of 2 methyl 2 butanol was measured using 1 ml syringe and transferred into a 5 ml conical
vial. 2.5 ml of highly concentrated Hydrochloric acid was then slowly added while the vial was
constantly swirled. After mixing alcohol with HCl the vial was capped with a screw cap and
gently shaken for about 10 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this particular reaction calculations were straight forward due to 1:1 stoichiometric ratio with
an excess of acid. Using physical density constant, the volume of 2 methyl 2 butanol was first
converted into grams of alcohol. The grams were then converted into moles of alcohol using its
molecular weight. Using the reaction stoicheometry, the moles were then converted into moles of
chloride (product). Finally knowing the molecular weight of the product allowed to convert grams
into moles.
Calculating mass of 2 methyl 2 butanol:
Density = mass/volume mass = density x volume = 0.815 (g/ml) x 1 (ml) =0.815 g
Moles = grams/ MW = 0.815 (g) / 88.15 (g/mol) = 0.00925 moles
Using 1:1 stoichiometric ratio for product theoretical yield estimation:
0.00925 moles x MW of chloride (35.45) = 0.328 grams of product
Percent Yield = Actual yield / theoretical x 100% = 0.228 (g) / 0.328 (g) x 100% = 69.51 %
Discussion
It is not uncommon to have a percent yield less than 100% as was observed in our experiment.
Imperfect percent yield can be interpreted that the condition were not optimal and could be
improved. Despite careful measurements some component will still be lost during transferring
between containers. One way to get a better percent yield is by minimizing transfers. A low percent
yield could be a result of evaporation

Building A New Start Up Site
The company I work for, Glass Etching Incorporated, has given me the task and opportunity to
expand their business by choosing the next location abroad for a new start up site. Glass
Etching Incorporated has been in business since August of 2003 and currently provides services
within the United States. The business was originally created in the home of its owners, Tom
and Heidi Morgan. Tom and Heidi started this business by selling their products online through
various forms of social media websites and buying and selling sites, such as EBay. The products
offered by GEI include an array of glassware items to choose from, in which, these items are then
sand blasted (etched) with a specific illustrated design, letters, and/or wording, chosen by the
customer. These products are then expedited to the customer. The company s mission is to
provide high quality etched artwork and design on glassware. Also, the company s purpose is to
provide a one of a kind product for the customer, priced reasonably and competitively and to have
the business be solely conducted online by means of electronic commerce. With the momentum of
the company s progress, profit and popularity, the Morgan s decided it was time to expand and
attempt to grow their abroad. The United Kingdomis being considered for the new export location.
They are a higher ranking country, in terms of their economy and the probability for a successful
business start up is more likely. Major trade items in the United Kingdom

A mysterious vial filled with a white substance is given to you, and you are told to figure out
what it is, but where would you even begin? This is the problem a group of 8th graders has

chemical properties, such as temperature, color, fizz, they were able to narrow down their options.
They believe the mystery mixture is made up of Citric Acid and Sodium Bicarbonate. The group of

properties of the mixture. While studying the physical properties of different substances they found
that Sodium Bicarbonate possessed many of the same qualities that were

Analysis of Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman
Arthur Miller s play Death of a Salesman was a hit nearly from its debut, and its importance to
American literature and theater has not diminished in the over half a century since its first
performance in 1949. However, the specific areas of the play that have most intrigued critics have
changed over time, as different historical, social, and literary concerns lead critics to come up with
different interpretations. By analyzing three different critical responses to Death of a Salesman, it
will be possible to not only understand the playbetter, but also actually see how the reception of
the play has changed as society s standards of criticism and discourse changed over the
intervening years. One is able to see how shifting views on patriarchy lead to a change in the
play s reception, and particularly the characterization of Willy Loman, who transforms from a
tragic, albeit flawed man into the contemptible lackey of a patriarchal, capitalist society that has
little regard for human health or happiness. The first critical response to Death of a Salesman
considered here actually comes from 1949, just as the play was first debuting on Broadway. The
first reviews of the play were almost unanimously positive, and February, 1949, review in the Los
Angeles Times is indicative of the praises it received at the time. The Times review, like most
popular reviews, does not bother with literary theory, but rather focuses solely on the plot and
reviewing the constituent elements of the

Overview of Three Interpretations of Samuel Beckett s...
Samuel Beckett wrote Waiting for Godot between October 1948 and January 1949. Since its
premiere in January of 1953, it has befuddled and confounded critics and audiences alike. Some
find it to be a meandering piece of drivel; others believe it to be genius. Much of the strain between
the two sides stems from one simple question. What does this play mean? Even within camps where
Waiting for Godotis heralded, the lack of clarity and consensus brings about a tension and
discussion that has lasted over sixty years. I will look at what I have determined to be the three
most predominant interpretations of the play, including anti Christianity, existentialism, and nihilism
. By also examining Beckett s life and influences, I believe... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Furthermore, Basaninyenzi writes a fairly common claim. He says, Godot, as many critics
maintain, is a diminutive of God. He is a supremely powerful being, for it is he who holds in his
hand the future of mankind Vladmir and Estragon (Basaninyenzi 70). Godot is an entity who is
ever present, but is never explicitly there and yet controls the entire movement or lack thereof in the
show stands directly parallel to God as a spiritual entity. Basaninyenzi believes that based on these
two similarities that Waiting for Godot is an inherently anti Christian text.
Ashkan Shobeiri agrees to an extent, but takes his stance a bit further. In his article for the
International Journal of Humanities and Social Science, Shobeiri provides a reason as to why
Beckett could be so anti religion, with special

Analysis Of The Book Rush Men
Most everyone knows what Greg Hardy brings to the table. He was pro bowler in 2013. Hardy s
stacked up an average of 13 sacks and 40 solo tackles in his last two full seasons with the
Carolina Panthers. He s extremely explosive off the edge and has elite hands that make it almost
impossible to block him for an entire game. Hardy will be a huge upgrade for the Cowboys.
With one position improved in the rush men rotation, who else can the Cowboys count on to
contribute not only during Hardy s four game suspension but also for the entire season. For
starters, nobody should sleep on Jeremy Mincey. He doesn t get talked about much but he was
kind of the unsung hero of the Dallas pass rush last season leading the team in sacks with 6, and
QB pressures with 39. He was also named team captain after Justin Durant went on IR. This is a
contract year for him and at the age of 31 he won t see many more. With more help along the
defensive line he should get some more favorable match ups and have another nice season.
Tyrone Crawford didn t see snap his entire rookie season but last season was his coming out
party. The 2013 third round pick wrecks absolute havoc up the middle. There were several times
last season when Jeremy Mincey and Henry Melton got the credit for the sack but it was Crawford
who pushed the line taking on two or three blockers at once giving them a free run at the QB.
Crawford had a good season last year ranking in the top 15 of all DT s (according to

Pine Forests Of The Colorado Plateau
Ponderosa pine forests of the Colorado Plateau cover a large portion of the higher mesas and
mountains from elevations of 6000 to approximately 8000 feet. They often form almost pure stands
encompassing tens of thousands of acres at elevations above 6500 feet in the southern area. Located
southwest of Flagstaff to the White Mountains of eastern Arizona, the Mogollon Rim comprises the
southern edge of the Colorado Plateauin Arizona. The escarpment reaches close to 200 miles across
central Arizona, with an average elevation of approximately 7000 feet. It contains the largest
ponderosa pine forestin the United States.
The three needled Rocky Mountain ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa var. scopulorum) is the
prevalent form of pine throughout the Colorado Plateau. Gambel oak (Quercus gambelii) is
commonly associated with the ponderosa pine at lower elevations as well as the New Mexico

The Conflicted Linda Loman in Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman
Watching a solitary blade of grass will never tell you the direction of hurricane, just as one
characteristic can never describe Linda Loman. In Death of a Salesman, Linda Loman is a woman
torn between guilt, retaliation, and pity. Her guilt stems from the fact that she prevented Willy
from pursuing his true American Dream; she retaliates in response to Willy s failure; she feels
sorry for Willy, because he is a pitiful lone adventurer of the road (47). As the battling motivations
blow from opposing directions, the reader is left to decide to which one motivation Linda will
succumb.
Willy is a source of guilt for Linda, because, in part, she blames herself for ... Show more content on

Willy undermines her authority with the boys. He denies any negative comments out of her
mouth when their children are discussed. He interrupts her. He shouts at her. Linda reacts with
veiled hostility to Willy?s disrespect. She laughs at the idea of planting a garden, pointing to
Willy?s past failures at growing a garden. Every time Linda pokes at his failures, she is retaliating
against Willy?s failures and the fact that she has been pulled into Willy?s dead end dream against
her will.
When Linda refers to Willy as a little boat looking for a harbor, another wind blows against
Linda, pushing her to act with pity (1247). To her, he is nothing more than a small, helpless old
man. She blames the business for forgetting Willy in his old age, and passing him over like an
orange peel. Toward the end of Act I, Linda presents a sorry image of Willy, describing his past
greatness as a salesman and ending with a sad description of treachery. She tells her sons that
Willy is exhausted from driving 1400 miles without earning a penny, and that his reward from the
ones he loved the most, his sons, is spite and rejection (1237). The picture she paints of her
husband is on filled with pity and sorrow.
All the motivations conflict with each other constantly. On one hand, Linda more than loves her
husband, she admires him (1213). She wants to follow his dreams to the end, but at the same time

Research Paper Theme: Social Impact of the Internet 8 October 1997 ABSTRACT The Internet
is the largest source of information in the world today. With its web sites and chat rooms, it is a
means of communicating with people in places all over the face of the earth. Since its conception
in 1973, the Internet has grown at a whirlwind rate. 51 million adults, were on line as of the second
quarter 1997 in the United States alone. Some say that the Internet is so enjoyable that it is almost
addictive. The problem is that researchers are beginning to agree with them. Studies are revealing
that there may be an actual form of addictioninvolved with over use of the Internet. Identifying

They argue that the chemicals in marijuana activate the same stimuli as the Internet.5 Most
researchers to this date do, however, agree that this is some type of behavioral addiction. People
can become addicted to activities even when there is no physiological dependence or
physiological addiction. Overeating, sex, work, exercise and gambling can be addictive if done
to excess.6 Behavioral addiction means (2) that the activity alters your emotional state in some
way. The main way to determine if an activity is addictive is if it is having a negative impact on
some other important area of your life. The questions to be answered now are, if there is such a
thing as Internet addiction, what are the effects of this addiction and why are people falling into
this trap? According to Dr. Maressa Orzack of the Computer Addiction Services at Harvard
University s McClean Hospital in Boston, The single greatest factor in becoming an addict is
boredom. They re lonely, and the Internet, with its chat rooms and endless information, fills a need.
7 The chat rooms, whether they are used for sexual and romantic encounters or just to talk to other

the ability to create false identities of oneself. Although this ability to create a false identity is not
one of the main lures, it does play a major role when looking at the

Delaney In The Classroom
Throughout the course of the semester I had the chance to connect with Delaney in the CHAMP
lab. She is eight years old and she is also in third grade. Her favorite sports to do are gymnastics
and soccer. Her favorite movies are finding Nemo and finding Dori. Her favorite foods are pizza,
carrots, grapes, raspberries, l and chicken curry. Her favorite things to drink is milk, hot
chocolate, orange, grape, and apple juice. Her favorite thing to do outside in the wintertime is to
go sledding with her friends. Her least favorite things are spinach, onions, and spicy foods.

When I had her throw to me she had her shoulders facing towards me in a vertical wind up. Then
she performed a contralateral and she had a limited spinal rotation. What she needs to work on
for overhand throwing to get into the mature stage is to stand sideways and practice the
segmented rotation then following through. What I would do to help her is I would put a
resistance band with handles on the goal post on the turf. then I would have her grab the handle
and stand sideways. Then I would have her step and rotate with the band in a throwing motion.
This would help her get the concept of the rotation part. Then I would give her a towel then I
would have grab and folding chair. I would have her non dominant leg sit on the chair and then
she would have to snap the towel on the ground to get the concept of the follow through. This
would be the way how I would fix her overhand throwing. What I could see Delaney in the future in
sports is soccer and basketball. The way she can dribble in kick and pass on the turf when we play
soccer she shows signs that she has a lot of potential of being a soccer player. I can also can see her
playing basketball, even though I have never seen her shoot a basketball, but guessing by how well

Endotherm
Endotherm refers to animals that adjust core temperature by internal corrective mechanism such as
humans. Most of the endotherm keep their body temperature around 35В°C to 40В°C. The body
temperature is controlled by the thermoregulatory centre in the hypothalamus. The temperature
regulating centers are discovered in the preoptic area situated in the anterior portion of the
hypothalamus. The function of this area is to receive information from temperaturereceptors located
in the skin, mucous membranes and also from the central thermoreceptors that monitor the
temperature of bloodthat pass through the brain. The hypothalamic thermostat works with other
areas of the brain to maintain the core temperature. When human facing cold weather, our skin
temperature drops. This stimulates skin cold receptors. When The thermoregulatory centre is
stimulated, hypothalamic thermostat and higher cortical centers are received all those signals. The
temperature change in the blood activated the thermostat. It cause response to control temperature.

The Cause Of A Child Living In Poverty
Society has gotten to a point in which many of those whom are left in poverty stricken situations
are forgotten. We sometimes seem to care more about the health and wellbeing of those in other
countries before helping those closest to home during their time of need. Many continue going
about their day to day lives not realizing those forgettable people we threw to the side were once
children that could have been helped if we had just taken the extra time and concern. Those people
could have had the chance to live up to their full potential and perhaps could have changed the
world. Children who live in povertyare subjected to such things as lower education attainment as
well as low earning potential. Poverty stricken children are more likely to be raised in poor
neighborhood environments, have less access to food, minimal access to health care, and a toll
can be taken on their emotional and behavioral development. So what could be the cause of a
child living in poverty? There is only one answer to that question and that is INCOME . If a
family does not have the financial means to run a family then there will be many things that they
will have to go without. The most important of those things is a child would be growing up and
missing out on many mental growth developments. Living in poverty brings forth lots of risk to a
child s overall development. However, we must get to the root of the issue in order to find a way
to solve the problem. Through research I was able to

Conformity Quotes In Fahrenheit 451
Don t step on the toes of the dog lovers, the cat lovers, doctors, lawyers, merchants, chiefs,
Mormons, Baptist, Unitarians, second generation Chinese, Swedes, Germans, Texans
,Brooklynites, Irishmen, people from Oregon, or Mexico. (Bradbury 57). This quote, a
statement from Captain Beatty, is an example of how conformity is a big ideology in the
society. His statement proves that they believe conforming removes conflict. Take away
opinions, likes, dislikes, and everyone is happy. Tell the people how they should feel and what
they should believe. Montag s society s idea of a utopia is that compliance is honing. Mildred
backed away as if she were suddenly confronted by a pack of mice that had come out of the floor.
(Bradbury 66). In this quote, Bradbury describes Mildred s reaction to being presented books by
Montag. An example of complying to the law. She reacts in fear to illegal objects. She is unsure
of why she s apprehensive of the books, other than that because the society says she should be. If
a book, tradition, or common practice, anything human, doesn t conform to the societal standards,
then it is offensive, therefore in need of being burned, or forgotten. They erase books to erase the
past. Erase tradition. An example to support the previous statement is when Beatty says, Colored

Video games in Hollywood
Super Mario Bros, Doom, BloodRayne, and Mortal Kombat. These are all great, classic, or
memorable video games in their own right, but their silver screen counterparts? Not so much.
Why though? Why is it that video games can not translate into the same box office success that
has been experienced by comic books and novels since the early 2000s? I have identified four
crucial reasons why video games will never see the same commercial success as other mediums
have: video games are not respected as an art form, Hollywood does not understand gaming, video
games are difficult to translate from an interactive to non interactive medium, and unqualified
directors, who are unfamiliar with both video games and the source material from which they are
adapting from.
Besides a few select directors such a Sam Raimi or Peter Jackson, Hollywood generally views
gaming as a novelty in its infancy and gamers as a select demographic to profit from. Since
video games are viewed less seriously compared to novels or other artistic mediums, they have
been treated as such. By definition, video games cannot be considered art, as they are inherently
popular, while art serves to appeal to a niche audience. Video games as an art form have been
debated feverishly in the past decade, with the general consensus being that video game are not an
art form but an extension of artistic expression or at the very best, art in a non traditional sense.
Roger Ebert argued that due to the nature of video games they

he/she talks about his/her parents. The narrator opens the piece by telling the reader that his/her
father, Thomas, was an explorer who left for an expedition and was never heard from again (Sloss

mother. The mother, Mary, was considered a wild woman (Sloss 5) growing up. Her family had
concerns that she was unsuitable for any man. Upon meeting each other, the narrator s mother
and father found common ground in that they both loved adventure and had a habit of

described to be a man in love (Sloss 7) with the wilderness like a schoolboy (Sloss 7). He cannot
be home from expeditions long without getting restless. As days pass, the father spends his time
planning his next adventure, a hot air balloonride to the Arctic, something that he claims will write
his name beside Darwin s in the history books (Sloss 13). The father does not tell Mary of his

ABSTRACT
The system memories requirement depends greatly on the nature of the applications which run
on the system. Memory performance and capacity requirements are small for simple, low cost
systems. In contrast, memory throughput can be the most critical requirement in complex, high
performance systems. The following general types of memories can be used in systems such as
Volatile and non volatile memories. SRAM can be found in the cache memory of a computer or
as a part of the RAM digital to analog converters on video cards. Static RAM is also used for
high speed registers, caches and small memory banks like a frame buffer on a display adapter.
Several scientific and industrial subsystems, modern appliances, automotive electronics, electronic
toys, mobile phones, synthesizers and digital cameras also use SRAM. It is also highly
recommended for use in PCs, peripheral equipment, printers, LCD screens, hard disk buffers etc.
Different transistor counts in used in SRAM architecture such as Bipolar junction transistors used
in TTL and ECL which is very fast but consumes a lot of power and MOSFET used in CMOS
which is used at low power and also very common today. This paper proposed to improve the
stability of SRAM cell and also reduces

The Effect Of Exercise On Cardiovascular Function
Introduction:
Tokui and Hirakoba (2007) define exercise efficiency as the given rate of power output in
relation to the amount of energy expended in a given time (as cited in Gaesser and Brooks, 1975).
Efficiency during exercise varies due to several biomechanical and physiological factors namely,
contraction velocity and the force produced by muscles (Tokui and Hirakoba). Research shows that
exercise efficiency ranges differ among the various types of exercise modalities commonly used
in clinical and recreational settings (McArdle, F. Katch, and V. Katch, 2010). Measuring exercise
efficiency allows researchers to examine which modalities of exercise are most efficient, enabling
athletes and individuals in rehabilitation to choose the proper mode of training to fit their needs.
During rehabilitation or training, improving cardiovascular function is a essential measure of
outcome; thus, doctors, physical therapists and coaches are left to decide which mode of exercise
will better yield results based on an individual s abilities and disabilities (Barfield, Sherman and
Michael, 2003).
Different exercise modes may elicit varying physiological responses; therefor professionals aiming
to augment their patient or athlete s rehabilitation and training regimens should consider the latter
(Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Different exercise modes target variable body segments,
some being full body and others targeting only the lower or upper body. Due to differing numbers of

Ancient Egyptian Civilization
The ancient Egyptian civilization is arguably the oldest civilization in the world. It is believed to
have emerged around 5,500 years ago, although some scholars have estimated an even earlier date.
During the predynastic period the Egyptians were not united, but as the Sahara desert expanded
many people began moving their settlements around the Nile River. These settlements started
coming together to form towns. As these towns progressed they developed many new ideas to help
the society run smoother. However the total unification and start of the ancient Egyptian
civilization did not happen, until Hierakonpolis expanded and conquered Naqada. The ancient
Egyptian civilization was now created. Since this civilization was one of the first in the world,
there was no structure to start with. In order to function as a thriving civilization, the Egyptians
had to accomplish agricultural, architectural, medical, and educational advancements. The ancient
Egyptian s advancements in agriculture is one of the driving forces that lead to the success of
their empire. The Egyptian civilization came together because of the need for fertile soil and a
constant supply of water. Although the Nile was a constant supply of water, the Egyptians still
needed to find a way to bring the water to their crops. Murray shows the reason why irrigation was
needed, In Egypt, 6000 years ago, when the latest rainy interlude began to wane, neolithic tribesmen
from both sides flocked into the Nile Valley

Solution for Air Pollution
2 March, 2008
The Solution for Air Pollution
Society as a whole faces many environmental problems, and as a result, environmental awareness
tends to be a pressing issue. Every day, people recycle cans, glass bottles, and newspapers. Many
people buy bottled water, or own filters for their tap water, as a health precaution from the
pollutants in normal everyday drinking water. Air pollutionis perhaps the biggest environmental
issue the Earth is facing. Automobiles are responsible for a notable amount of the air pollution
problem. Of course, on the other hand so are factories. If the fight against air pollution were to be
taken to a higher level, putting pressure on factories that produce air pollution will have a greater

There are many practical, cost effective measures that can be taken to reduce the emissions of air
pollutants, including the adoption of energy conservation measures and switching to natural gas.
Many existing Clean Air Act programs, such as the acid rain program, and the ground level ozone
smog programs, if properly implemented, will do much to reduce the concentration of fine
particles by controlling the pollutants. These give a hopeful outlook that the air pollution problem
can cease to exist in the severe form that it now does, and with the support of not only
governmental agencies and non profit organizations, but also the help of everyday citizens, the
problem can be overcome in no time.
The air that people breathe everyday is critical to the very existence of not only civilization, but
also the entire Earth; therefore, taking care of it should be a priority to everyone that inhabits it.
A commitment needs to be made by all. It is not necessary for everyone to be radical protesters
against factories and automobile manufacturers, but if everyone were to get involved, even in the
slightest way, such as carpooling to work, the air that is inhaled by all as a matter of survival
would be increasingly cleaner. The air pollution created by these factories is dangerous to the
environment and to the health of people everywhere. Industrial air pollution is

Economies of Scale
The largest single driving force behind mergers and acquisitions is probably economies of scale.
Economies of scale means that if you have a large company, you can leverage your suppliers.
This is a very powerful capability, and exercising it can be a strategic move for a company s
operations. You can save a tremendous amount of money on services such as health insurance
we all know that health insurance is extraordinarily expensive and getting more so every day. I
know about the strategic benefits of economies of scale from my personal experience of working
as a consultant in a small merger and acquisition in 2006 in which two failing private schools
joined together to become one successful entity. One of the major contributing factors for the
success of this merger was that the combined organization had more people who were buying
health insurance; as a result, the health insurance company substantially dropped their premiums
because the risk was being spread across more people. Large companies can also buy basic supplies
such as paper, pencils, and paperclips less expensively from suppliers when they buy in larger
quantities. They simply get a

also be produced by the X Men: Apocalypse star. Although not much is known about the lead
character Callum Lynch, Fassbender recently opened out about his mysterious role.
The Shame actor shared a few details about Callum with GeekTyrant, and admitted that the
character has had a difficult past even before he found out about his abilities.
He is an outsider, Fassbender said of the character. He s been institutionalized from his early teens.

the early stages of the plot is his cluelessness. In the very opening scene, Fiver alerts Hazel in a
panic that a great danger is to come over the Sandleford Warren. Without any evidence or proof,
except for the minor fact that Fiver s past predictions have been found truthful, Hazel goes to The
Threarah with Fiver to inform him of this impending threat. Well, sir, said Hazel rather hesitantly, it

Oxygen On The Heatedime Of A Lit Candle
What is the effect of the amount oxygen in a beaker on the burntime of a lit candle beneath the
beaker? Our group agreed that if the beaker were bigger, which would allow more oxygen in the
beaker, then the candle will take longer to burn out then it would with a smaller beaker and less
room for oxygen. In this experiment we used clay to hold a birthday candle up with in a pie pan.
The pie pan had a little bit of water in it so it would help seal the beakers we used. After lighting
the candle we put many beakers of different sizes over the candle to time how long it took for the
candle to burn out. We discovered that our hypothesis was, in fact, correct. The larger the beaker
was that we used, the longer the candle burned. The different sized

Compare And Contrast Dracula And Parable Of The Sower
Similarly to Dracula, in Parable of the Sower, Lauren is initially condescended by more
dominant males, including her father, Harry, Bankhole, and Travis. Her religion has not taken
full form and she cannot yet present it in a compelling and coherent manner to convince people
to join her community. She is somewhat fantastical about venturing beyond her housing wall
and fully forming her religion. She literally lives surrounded by walls, symbolizing a cave that
shields her from all that the outside world has to offer. Even if the exterior of the wall only
presents her with danger, violence, and a crumbling society, it is reality and a dangerous reality
is safer than the illusion of safety. Once she is forced to exist and live on her own, she structures
Earthseed, her religion, and becomes able to fend for herself. Parable of the Sower takes place
in a dystopian california in the not too distant future. At first, Lauren resides in the relative
safety of a walled community of eleven homes, but her community is burned to the ground and
she is forced to undergo a change. As she enters the real world and leaves her home, she gains
knowledge and knowledge is powerful. Her change is apparent in both her actions and excerpts
from her religion. Lauren exclaims, There has to be more that we can do, a better destiny that we
can shape. Another place. Another way. Something! (151). Here, she haphazardly searches for
something. She cannot even identify what she is looking for. Her desires are unclear and she
presents them immaturely. It is a very youthful manner in trying to solve problems; irrationally
looking for something, anything, to help, but refusing to step back and analyze the situation in a
methodical way to discover what actually needs to be done. She had dreams of moving north, but
never actually implemented or underwent a plan to relocate to a better living condition. Logging
accounts of the annihilation of her neighborhood, lauren writes, Last night, when I escaped from
the neighborhood, it was burning. The houses, the trees, the people: burning (153). She is then
forced to escape and develop a new life. She approaches her trip in a very practical manner, taking
note of her funds, food

Beowulf Compare And Contrast
Beowulf is one of the oldest poems in history, it was originally written in Anglo Saxon, and it was
told orally with many literary devices so it could be remembered throughout generations. It shows
what their society was based on back in the Anglo Saxon era. Although throughout history the poem
has been changed to fit our modern day society. For example, having different values and morals
and how we look at religion has all changed. In the Beowulfpoem and movie there are many
similarities and differences in Religion, Characterization, and Morals it highlights the value and
beliefs of each society.
The first example of the similarities and differences between the poem and the movie is the
representation of religion. For example, both the movie and the poem of Beowulf included
Christianity and Paganism. However, in the movie it was more about the Pagan religion, trying to
make Christianity look bad. As an example, in one scenes of the movie, Beowulf says the
Christianity killed the time of all heros. On the other hand, in the Beowulf poem, Beowulf is
compared to the gods of Christianity. For example, in the passage The Battle With Grendel the

What Is The Theme Of The River By James W. Brown
Analytical essay on The river by James W. Brown
Raising a child can be done in various ways. Of course it depends on which gender your child is,
but overall it is pretty much the same. The best way to raise a child is to make sure that they respect
things around them. That they cannot go around behaving, as they want too. But, men have a thing
that they always want to learn their boys. Manhood. Manhood is something a boy needs. Manhood
is the thing that separates the boys from the men. It can be taught in many ways and some men
take their boys on survival trips. This is what a father does with his young boy in the short story
The river by James W. Brown written in 2009.
In the short story The river we hear about a father and a son on a trip. The father wants to teach
the son how to cross a strong river. Trying to make a manout of him. While trying to teach his son,
he makes some mistakes and it will make him pay a great price.
The short story The river takes place in a few places. We first hear about the father and his son
sitting in a car on the way, on their trip. Later we hear about them in the forest, of some kind,
while the father explains to his son how to get over the river. We hear about the father and the son,
but we do not hear that much about the mother. The only thing we hear about her is in line 18 20: At

The Duty of the Federal Reserve
The Federal Reserve Act was signed into law on December 23, 1913. Due to a series of financial
panics around 1907, the Federal Reserve (also referred to as the Fed ) was created by Congress to
promote a stable banking system and an active economy. The Federal Reserves greatest client and
biggest spender is the government of the United States. All proceeds from taxes generated and
disbursements are managed through the account that the United States government has set up with
the Federal Reserve. The Fed operates independently of the government; however, the Feds
jurisdiction originates from Congress and the Fed is subject to congressional supervision.
Furthermore The President nominates the members of the Board of Governors which must be
confirmed by the Senate. The salaries of the Fed are also set and appointed by the government.
Although the Fed can exercise freedom in monetary determinations, the existing relationship with
the government invites corruption particularly with the present administration and its champagne
socialists.
Thomas Jefferson in the Debate of the Recharger of the Bank Bill in (1809) warned that banking
systems would decimate America. Regardless of the original premise of good intentions, whenever
any system wields this much power manipulation and avarice ensue. Many consider the economic
approach of our forefathers as too primitive and unsophisticated; however, the laws and standards
they established has made the United States the

in the movie Dill is Miss Stephanie Crawford s nephew, but in the book Dill is actually Mrs.

I Am On The Clock Right Now
As I neared Bryant Street, I shifted the box with car parts. I had to get them to that guy up the
block as quickly as I could. There wouldn t be anything to smile about if I got fired for being too
slow. Music was blaring from a radio perched on top a phone booth down the block, where a
group of men leaned against cars in front of the barbershop. I rushed past them, trying to balance
the car parts in the box with one hand while rubbing my other hand; trying some of the sticky
grease off of it. I spotted Sam and Maxie and crossed toward them. Hey, Sam. Maxie. Hey,
Bucky, she replied, You finally got a free afternoon? Hardly. No, girl, I m on the clock right now.
Just dropping off some parts to a guy up the block. I pointed my thumb over my shoulder. I
suddenly remembered that I had to talk to Stick about that. I m glad I ran into you, Sam. Do you
a favor, will ya? Tell Steve to stop by the shop tomorrow. We gotta talk. I sped up my speaking, It
s real important. I tried to catch him earlier, but I missed my shot. Yeah, no problem, Bucky. I ll
tell him. I grinned, relieved. Thanks man, I gotta go. Get back to work fore they dock me. I
slapped his shoulder. Catch ya later. I jogged off down the sidewalk and then slowed to wave at
some friends coming out of the mini grocery carrying bottles of soda. One of them called out and I
turned partway, still jogging. You coming tonight, man? Can t. Working, I called back. I waved and
dashed toward the corner.

If possible, wet the end first to cool it off. When you put the cigarette into the ashtray, make sure
that it is completely in and stable so it won t fall out and onto something that could catch on fire.
Don t overload outlets. If you can, unplug anything that you re not using to help clear some outlet
space. If you do have to have electronics plugged in, distribute them instead of putting them all into
one outlet.
Expert Insight * Run out of the house immediately if there is a fire. Don t run around trying to
grab valuables or other items, and absolutely don t run back in to get anything. Get to your
neighbors house to call 911.
Have multiple escape routes out of your home. If you don t plan one and there is an emergency,
you may get disoriented on where you should go. Having multiple plans set up could help you to
get out alive.
Stop, drop and roll if your clothes catch on fire. Running will only make the situation worse.
Misconceptions
* Many people think that a fire won t ever happen to them, especially in their own homes, but
there is always that chance even if you don t want to acknowledge it. Instead of being in doubt
that it will ever happen, you re better off taking precautions just in case. If a fire were to happen, it
s better to be prepared instead of being caught off guard

The Musical Adaptation Of The Lion King
The musical adaptation of the Disney classic The Lion King, directed by Julie Taymor, is a creative
myriad of modern and traditional music, successfully merging the plot and soundtrack of the
original film with a stunning cast of powerful vocals and ingenious actors to delight and entertain.
The musical, which is currently showing at the SHN Orpheum Theatre through November and
December 2016, stays true to the animated original s heartbreaking and inspirational plot, easily
touching the hearts of the audience through its incredibly talented cast. Mark Campbell portrays a
devious and somewhat sassy Scar, while Gerald Ramsey plays the role of the wise father and ruler

The musical takes a bold approach to its adaptations of the Disney soundtrack, incorporating electric
guitars in a few of the numbers.
The transitions throughout The Lion King were smooth and barely noticeable, except for one
technical difficulty in the first act. After a special effect failed to occur, the audience was given a
brief five minute intermission before the show resumed. The actors made a quick recovery and the
scene ended seamlessly.
The set and costumes weave a visual masterpiece, emulating a natural, yet lively and beautiful
theme through the use of brightly patterned fabrics. People in elaborate, intricate costumes acted
out each plant and animal, communicating the key theme that all living creatures in the wilderness
are connected. Timon, Pumbaa, and Zazu s costumes were more comic than the rest of the more
natural costumes. This was likely done to keep younger audiences interested but ended up
disrupting the uniformity of the production s overall appearance.
Despite this costume design flaw, The Lion King musical will undoubtedly entertain and amaze
audiences of all ages with its gorgeous sets, talented cast, and well crafted

In the story The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst, the author shows many similarities between the
narrator s little brother Doodle and an exotic bird. While reading through the story the young
boy is not thought very highly of. No one including, the doctors, ever thought Doodle would live
past a couple days. But Doodle did just that, he lived for 6 whole years. His parents even named
him William Armstrong, because they thought it would look good on a tombstone. His brother
later renamed him Doodle because with that kind of name no one would expect much from him.
Doodle had many obstacles growing up and didn t really fit it. While going through life Doodle
was constantly trying to prove that there was a reason for his life. Doodle s brother tried very to
have a normal little brother, so he pushed him in many ways to enable him to do normal things.
Doodle could not stand up or crawl and when he did he crawled backwards, earning him the
name Doodle. The brothers says to Doodle, Aw, come on, Doodle, I urged. You can do it. Do you
want to be different from everybody else when you start school? Does it make any difference?
It certainly does, I said. Now, come on, and I helped him up (Hurst ll. 254 527). Doodle was
expected to die hours after he was born, he couldn t even talk, crawl, or anything. The family
viewed him as worthless but Doodle proved all of them wrong.

Examples Of Hypothyroidism In The Fault In Our Stars
A quote that changed who I was.
Optimistic or pessimistic, these were the two options I had when I was diagnosed with
hypothyroidism. This diagnoses is common in women, but because they discovered it after
many years I was put under observation in the hospital. The doctors were afraid that I might fall
into a coma because of a procedure that was done earlier before discovering my thyroid did not
function properly. After being depressed and terrified, I stumbled up on a quote from a book called
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and the character Augustus Waters said It s a metaphor, see:
You put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don t give it the power to do its
killing. . (12). This is a simple quote that changed my perspective of how I viewed the situation I
was facing.
The Fault in Our Stars is a book about teenagers who were diagnosed with cancer. The main
character of the book was a girl who had thyroid cancer and her name is Hazel Grace. She fell in

was strong and tried to find the positive in any negative situation. This is when I started to take
care of my own health by doing everything as the doctor said. I started to hang out more with my

Diet Soda Essay
How many times are people at a restaurant and their waitresses continuously refill their glasses of
soda? Soda is one of the most popular drinks that people consume on a daily basis. There are
many different flavors and types. The most common types include Pepsi, Coke, and Dr. Pepper,
each including diet and zero. Many people only think about the sugarcorrelating to caries and not
the acid. Citric acid and phosphoric acid are the main acids found in soft drinks. Phosphoric acid
is a corrosive acid found in many different forms. It can be found in fertilizers, soaps, dyes,
polishing metals, and other food products (Singleton, 2015). Many people believe that diet soda is
better for them because of less calories and sugar; however, there are many artificial sweeteners and

According to Dimensions of Dental Hygiene the acid can be as corrosive as acid in car batteries.
The acid is able to demineralize the enamel without sugar causing the PH of the mouth to lower.
The acid attack lasts twenty minutes each time a sip is taken. Root beer may be the best soda to
consume because it is the least acidic. It is often not carbonated and has very little to no citric or
phosphoric acid (Lloyd, 2007). The best time to drink a soda would be with meals to reduce the
constant sipping through the day. The caries from soda can be worse in children because their
enamel is not fully developed until they get older. According to Dimensions of Dental Hygiene,
the dietary guidelines for added sugars are different for children, men, and women. Children
should consume three teaspoons, about 50 calories, per day. Men should consume nine teaspoons,
about 150 calories, per day. Women should consume six teaspoons, about 100 calories, per day.
Men and women guidelines are about one soda per day (Dimensions 2015). In the United States

Grave Of The Fireflies Analysis
The film Grave of the Fireflies expertly depicts World War II from the perspective of two young
Japanese citizens of the city of Kobe. As viewers follow their story they learn several things
such as the hardships of the people of Japan, the endangerment of the regular civilians, and the
unnecessary brutality of the American military. But the film, like all else, has its limitations,
these include prospective and lack of time. Hardship is emphasized everywhere in the film, it is
constantly poking the viewer to see the pain and suffering. This is immediately seen at the
beginning of the film when we see one main character, Seita, on the ground of a train station.
The director uses a pan shot to capture the condition of the boy, through this shot we see that he
is badly famished and struggling for life. The director also uses an extreme close up on the boy
with a fly on his face to convey that he lacks the energy to even swat a fly away. We can also
later see the hardship of losing a family member to the bombings in the other main character,
Setsuko. In the film, she as well as her brother lost their mother. Viewers can see the hardships that
this carries with the author s use of reiteration. Again and again Setsuko is shown crying over their
mother, asking about her, among other reactions due to the sudden loss of their mother. The fact
that she keeps struggling with this loss shows the extent of the pain that this direct result of World
War II brings to typical people of

  • 2. No One In Government Pays The Slightest Attention To The No one in government pays the slightest attention to the root of the undocumented immigrants complaints and demands. None of the present reform efforts in Congress is relevant to or addresses the true cause of these immigrants claims for legal rights as other Americans. Consider you were walking home at night. A pickpocket, suddenly, jumps on your front with a gun pointed at you and demands your valet. Unwillingly, you surrender your valet and he lets you go. The valet contained all the money you owned. You hide in a corner and follow him to his resident. You know you cannot face him openly to get your valet back. You try to find a way to get in the house attempting to retrieve your valet or take some of his belongings in return. He... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... citizens. This responsibility comes from the U.S. government s bloody hands in establishing influence and dominance in their native country in order to sustain stability and security for the operation of the U.S. corporate entities who ravaged the nation s resources and wealth, subjugated its working class and suppressed its people through a dictatorial government under American protection. For example consider the power and influence of the American Fruit Company in Central and South America established and operated for decades at the cost of tens of thousands lives of innocent citizens whose only crime was to have control over their own land and national resources. The history is well illustrative of the American direct or indirect and often bloody suppression in countries such as Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq. In some of these countries the U.S. military operation had amounted to the level of genocide such as Vietnam where 2 to 4 million human lives were destroyed including total population of many villages; Indonesia, where by the help of the U.S. government the socialist government of Sukarno was overthrown and replaced by that of Suharto who slaughtered about ... • 3. Essay Remember the Titans Rhetorical Analysis Multicolored Dream In the movie Remember the Titans Coach Boone gives a speech on the battle ground of Gettysburg. Coach Boone was hired and made head coach over the nominated Hall of Fame Coach Yoast. Racial tensions were building between team members because their school, T.C. Williams became integrated. His team of football players had a problem with open prejudice and hostility between the black and white players. After a day of bad practice, Coach Boone took his team out for a run in the middle of the night through the forest to deal with the issue. When the players were finally given a chance to breathe they realized that they were at the Civil War battle ground of Gettysburg. He utilizes his strong demeanor and gives a speech... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The strong imagery paints a picture of the battlefield and draws a connection between the past and present leaving the football players with a feeling of loss. In the beginning of the movie, Coach Boone had to build ethos for himself because of racial differences. Coach Boone, being of African American descent, was hired over their current caucasian coach and this caused the white football players to boycott the team until Coach Yoast became their assistant coach. Coach Boone lead his team by example and his dedication to his craft. He showed the players that he did not care about what color you wore on your skin, but of the sport that brought them together. During his speech he states I don t care if you like each other or not. But you will respect each other. And maybe, I don t know, maybe we ll learn to play this game like men (Boone). He uses the built trust aspect of ethos very well to close this speech. Another aspect of ethos Coach Boone used in his speech was borrowed credibility from Gettysburg. Towards the end of the speech he told the boys to take a lesson from the dead (Boone) and realize that if they do not stop these actions of hostility towards each other they will not be able to move forward as a team. The Civil War, and the Civil Rights Movement were turning points in American history and he used facts about the battle to build his ethos. Racial differences were still strong during the 1970s and if it were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Impacts of Hydraulic Fracturing The impacts of hydraulic fracturing can be hard to analyze due to a lack of data available. The following case studies explored the effects of fracking on animals and humans within areas of hydraulic fracking sites. The case studies were completed in six states in which hydraulic fracturing sites has increased in recent years. These six states are Colorado, Louisiana, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. The studies focus on the effects of animals because they may serve as sentinels for human exposure, with shorter lifetimes and more opportunity for data collection from necropsies (Bamberger Oswald, 2012, p.52). The case studies also take into account human exposure within the same area as the animals affected. The first case studyin the article observed two homes within a short distance of 25 shale wells. These two homeowners both had farm animals on their property and used well water for their personal water source. Both homeowners reported incidents relating to wastewater exposure for both their animals and humans. One incident was when a truck carrying wastewater drove away from the impoundment site with an open valve, releasing approximately 20 gallons of wastewater onto the impoundment access road (62). The water that was released was also spilled onto a road near one of the homeowners property. Another incident occurred when the barriers for the wastewater impoundment failed causing a spill into a creek. It is believed that this occurrences could have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many people throughout history even claimed to have evidence of a large variety of these creatures. A mythical creature is a type of animal or hybrid. • 6. The Gold Rush Of California Gold is a very precious metal that with in any community is pressed very highly. To a surprise to several, after the United States won California from Mexico. A land owner had found several pieces of gold along the river bed of the San Francisco. Circumstances lead to this land owner not wanting to reveal this information to the world. Nevertheless, the information was spread so began the Gold Rush in California. This magnificent event gave light to great change but was it the right move for progress and growth for the new founded country the United States. Growth in my eyes is defined as the increase of wealth among all the population that is living in a general area. Wealth should be defined as in a way where a family can live with good... Over all the gold rush was looked at as a great passage in the right direction for developing a modern world but it ended up leading us back, words, back into an era where monarchy rules the world. The daily life of a miner was far from perfect. The way the papers and other means of propaganda had portrayed getting rich quick, but it was far from easy. All the equipment that was needed to start out as a miner was for the most part outrageous. The earning wages from gold was sixteen dollars an ounce pg.8. Even so, the work was backbreaking. There was swarms of minors trying to get rich quick. To many miners that traveled to get a piece of the precious metal they where resorted to taking land from previous land owner just to get ahead in the Gold Rush. Not to mention that the living conditions where also outrageous. The rentals of hotels and other business structures, whether of boards or of canvas, reached even dizzier heights than did commodity prices pg.8. This spaces where set prices at 3,000 dollars a month or 40,000 dollars for a year, there was also other prices around the area of San Francisco. And in some cases miners where resorted to living in a room filled to the brim with other miners. This lead to very poor conditions for any one to live in. • 7. Jung Typology Test And Personality Temperament The Jung Typology Test determined that my personality temperament was ISFJ, being 41 percent introvert, 22 percent sensing, 6 percent feeling, and 25 percent judging. My Keirsey Temperament is the SJ or Guardians group, meaning that I am a protector and nurturer. This paper will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of this personality group, as well as an application of its relevance in the workplace. This paper will conclude with a discussion of how to apply the Christian worldview for the successful implementation of my personality temperament in the workplace. Project One: Personality Type and Temperament Step 1 I Introvert The Jung Typology Test (1998) found that I am 41 percent introverted. Kroeger, Thuesen, and Rutledge (2002) describe introverts as needing time to think things over when faced with a decision, and they prefer stating their opinions without being interrupted. This is definitely accurate for me, because I do not like to jump to quick decisions, I need time to think over what I have to say, and if it is something important, then I do prefer rehearsing it a few times before discussing it with someone else. Kroeger et al. (2002) state that introverts enjoy having time to themselves and will often need time alone to recharge after engaging in social events. In addition, introverts are usually described as being shy, and enjoy sharing special events with one or two close friends (Kroeger et al., 2002, p.18). I enjoy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. No Good And Nobody Is All Evil Nobody is all good and nobody is all evil. Throughout all history, whether it be in the United States or somewhere else in the world, there has always been people who are infamous for unspeakable crimes or for their tremendous acts of bravery. There has always been people who have seemed to be the literal definition of good and evil and have always been made out like they were exactly that: completely good or completely evil. It s easy to label a person like that, to ignore any of their other actions that may contradict what the world knows them as, but that s the thing about labels; nobody can truly fit completely under them. Even someone like Adolf Hitler was once upon a time an okay person before he was completely driven by fear and bitterness to the point he actually attempted to wipe out an entire group of people. The question is, if a person s actions were courageous or wicked enough, should they only be defined by those actions? Someone like Nathan Bedford Forrest, who was a racist his whole life, someone who was involved in the trading of slaves and even joined the Ku Klux Klanafter the war because he was so bitter about the defeat of the Confederacy; should he be defined by only these hateful actions? The answer depends: because while no one is completely good or completely evil like Adolf Hitler, Forrest believed that one group of people was superior to another; and instead of silently hating, Forrest decided to take action and help fight for a cause that went ... Essay Chem Lab Chem 201 Lab October 21, 2011 Lab #6: Preparation of 2 chloro 2 methylbutane an Sn 1 Reaction Purpose The purpose of this experiment was to prepare an alkyl halide, 2 chloro 2 methylbutane by reacting 2 methyl 2 butanol (t amyl alcohol) with hydrochloric acid. Alkyl halides are of wide interest because they are widespread and have diverse beneficial and detrimental impacts .The overall reaction is given below: Procedure 1 ml of 2 methyl 2 butanol was measured using 1 ml syringe and transferred into a 5 ml conical vial. 2.5 ml of highly concentrated Hydrochloric acid was then slowly added while the vial was constantly swirled. After mixing alcohol with HCl the vial was capped with a screw cap and gently shaken for about 10 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this particular reaction calculations were straight forward due to 1:1 stoichiometric ratio with an excess of acid. Using physical density constant, the volume of 2 methyl 2 butanol was first converted into grams of alcohol. The grams were then converted into moles of alcohol using its molecular weight. Using the reaction stoicheometry, the moles were then converted into moles of chloride (product). Finally knowing the molecular weight of the product allowed to convert grams into moles. Calculating mass of 2 methyl 2 butanol: Density = mass/volume mass = density x volume = 0.815 (g/ml) x 1 (ml) =0.815 g Moles = grams/ MW = 0.815 (g) / 88.15 (g/mol) = 0.00925 moles Using 1:1 stoichiometric ratio for product theoretical yield estimation: 0.00925 moles x MW of chloride (35.45) = 0.328 grams of product Percent Yield = Actual yield / theoretical x 100% = 0.228 (g) / 0.328 (g) x 100% = 69.51 % Discussion It is not uncommon to have a percent yield less than 100% as was observed in our experiment. Imperfect percent yield can be interpreted that the condition were not optimal and could be improved. Despite careful measurements some component will still be lost during transferring between containers. One way to get a better percent yield is by minimizing transfers. • 15. Analysis of Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman Arthur Miller s play Death of a Salesman was a hit nearly from its debut, and its importance to American literature and theater has not diminished in the over half a century since its first performance in 1949. However, the specific areas of the play that have most intrigued critics have changed over time, as different historical, social, and literary concerns lead critics to come up with different interpretations. By analyzing three different critical responses to Death of a Salesman, it will be possible to not only understand the playbetter, but also actually see how the reception of the play has changed as society s standards of criticism and discourse changed over the intervening years. One is able to see how shifting views on patriarchy lead to a change in the play s reception, and particularly the characterization of Willy Loman, who transforms from a tragic, albeit flawed man into the contemptible lackey of a patriarchal, capitalist society that has little regard for human health or happiness. The first critical response to Death of a Salesman considered here actually comes from 1949, just as the play was first debuting on Broadway. The first reviews of the play were almost unanimously positive, and February, 1949, review in the Los Angeles Times is indicative of the praises it received at the time. The Times review, like most popular reviews, does not bother with literary theory, but rather focuses solely on the plot and reviewing the constituent elements of the ... Since its premiere in January of 1953, it has befuddled and confounded critics and audiences alike. Some find it to be a meandering piece of drivel; others believe it to be genius. Much of the strain between the two sides stems from one simple question. What does this play mean? Even within camps where Waiting for Godotis heralded, the lack of clarity and consensus brings about a tension and discussion that has lasted over sixty years. I will look at what I have determined to be the three most predominant interpretations of the play, including anti Christianity, existentialism, and nihilism . Hardy s stacked up an average of 13 sacks and 40 solo tackles in his last two full seasons with the Carolina Panthers. He s extremely explosive off the edge and has elite hands that make it almost impossible to block him for an entire game. Hardy will be a huge upgrade for the Cowboys. With one position improved in the rush men rotation, who else can the Cowboys count on to contribute not only during Hardy s four game suspension but also for the entire season. For starters, nobody should sleep on Jeremy Mincey. He doesn t get talked about much but he was kind of the unsung hero of the Dallas pass rush last season leading the team in sacks with 6, and QB pressures with 39. The body temperature is controlled by the thermoregulatory centre in the hypothalamus. The temperature regulating centers are discovered in the preoptic area situated in the anterior portion of the hypothalamus. The function of this area is to receive information from temperaturereceptors located in the skin, mucous membranes and also from the central thermoreceptors that monitor the temperature of bloodthat pass through the brain. The hypothalamic thermostat works with other areas of the brain to maintain the core temperature. When human facing cold weather, our skin temperature drops. This stimulates skin cold receptors. These are all great, classic, or memorable video games in their own right, but their silver screen counterparts? Not so much. Why though? Why is it that video games can not translate into the same box office success that has been experienced by comic books and novels since the early 2000s? I have identified four crucial reasons why video games will never see the same commercial success as other mediums have: video games are not respected as an art form, Hollywood does not understand gaming, video games are difficult to translate from an interactive to non interactive medium, and unqualified directors, who are unfamiliar with both video games and the source material from which they are adapting from. Besides a few select directors such a Sam Raimi or Peter Jackson, Hollywood generally views gaming as a novelty in its infancy and gamers as a select demographic to profit from. Since video games are viewed less seriously compared to novels or other artistic mediums, they have been treated as such. By definition, video games cannot be considered art, as they are inherently popular, while art serves to appeal to a niche audience. Video games as an art form have been debated feverishly in the past decade, with the general consensus being that video game are not an art form but an extension of artistic expression or at the very best, art in a non traditional sense. Roger Ebert argued that due to the nature of video games they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Scholar NIIST, Bhopal India abhishekjain37@gmail.com Braj Bihari Soni Assistant Professor NIIST, Bhopal India brizsoni@gmail.com ABSTRACT The system memories requirement depends greatly on the nature of the applications which run on the system. Memory performance and capacity requirements are small for simple, low cost systems. In contrast, memory throughput can be the most critical requirement in complex, high performance systems. The following general types of memories can be used in systems such as Volatile and non volatile memories. SRAM can be found in the cache memory of a computer or as a part of the RAM digital to analog converters on video cards. Static RAM is also used for high speed registers, caches and small memory banks like a frame buffer on a display adapter. Several scientific and industrial subsystems, modern appliances, automotive electronics, electronic toys, mobile phones, synthesizers and digital cameras also use SRAM. It is also highly recommended for use in PCs, peripheral equipment, printers, LCD screens, hard disk buffers etc. Different transistor counts in used in SRAM architecture such as Bipolar junction transistors used in TTL and ECL which is very fast but consumes a lot of power and MOSFET used in CMOS which is used at low power and also very common today. This paper proposed to improve the stability of SRAM cell and also reduces ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Effect Of Exercise On Cardiovascular Function Introduction: Tokui and Hirakoba (2007) define exercise efficiency as the given rate of power output in relation to the amount of energy expended in a given time (as cited in Gaesser and Brooks, 1975). Efficiency during exercise varies due to several biomechanical and physiological factors namely, contraction velocity and the force produced by muscles (Tokui and Hirakoba). Research shows that exercise efficiency ranges differ among the various types of exercise modalities commonly used in clinical and recreational settings (McArdle, F. Katch, and V. Katch, 2010). Measuring exercise efficiency allows researchers to examine which modalities of exercise are most efficient, enabling athletes and individuals in rehabilitation to choose the proper mode of training to fit their needs. During rehabilitation or training, improving cardiovascular function is a essential measure of outcome; thus, doctors, physical therapists and coaches are left to decide which mode of exercise will better yield results based on an individual s abilities and disabilities (Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Different exercise modes may elicit varying physiological responses; therefor professionals aiming to augment their patient or athlete s rehabilitation and training regimens should consider the latter (Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Different exercise modes target variable body segments, some being full body and others targeting only the lower or upper body. Due to differing numbers of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, the circumstances of the events that unfolded are greatly debated as to whether he was drunk when he shot the soldier and so on (209). However, for Samad, Pande represents an unsung hero of eastern culture, preserving the culture of Bengalfrom the British (215). • 37. Ancient Egyptian Civilization The ancient Egyptian civilization is arguably the oldest civilization in the world. It is believed to have emerged around 5,500 years ago, although some scholars have estimated an even earlier date. During the predynastic period the Egyptians were not united, but as the Sahara desert expanded many people began moving their settlements around the Nile River. These settlements started coming together to form towns. As these towns progressed they developed many new ideas to help the society run smoother. However the total unification and start of the ancient Egyptian civilization did not happen, until Hierakonpolis expanded and conquered Naqada. The ancient Egyptian civilization was now created. Since this civilization was one of the first in the world, there was no structure to start with. In order to function as a thriving civilization, the Egyptians had to accomplish agricultural, architectural, medical, and educational advancements. The ancient Egyptian s advancements in agriculture is one of the driving forces that lead to the success of their empire. The Egyptian civilization came together because of the need for fertile soil and a constant supply of water. Although the Nile was a constant supply of water, the Egyptians still needed to find a way to bring the water to their crops. Air pollutionis perhaps the biggest environmental issue the Earth is facing. Automobiles are responsible for a notable amount of the air pollution problem. There are many practical, cost effective measures that can be taken to reduce the emissions of air pollutants, including the adoption of energy conservation measures and switching to natural gas. Many existing Clean Air Act programs, such as the acid rain program, and the ground level ozone smog programs, if properly implemented, will do much to reduce the concentration of fine particles by controlling the pollutants. These give a hopeful outlook that the air pollution problem can cease to exist in the severe form that it now does, and with the support of not only governmental agencies and non profit organizations, but also the help of everyday citizens, the problem can be overcome in no time. The air that people breathe everyday is critical to the very existence of not only civilization, but also the entire Earth; therefore, taking care of it should be a priority to everyone that inhabits it. A commitment needs to be made by all. It is not necessary for everyone to be radical protesters against factories and automobile manufacturers, but if everyone were to get involved, even in the slightest way, such as carpooling to work, the air that is inhaled by all as a matter of survival would be increasingly cleaner. Economies of scale means that if you have a large company, you can leverage your suppliers. This is a very powerful capability, and exercising it can be a strategic move for a company s operations. You can save a tremendous amount of money on services such as health insurance we all know that health insurance is extraordinarily expensive and getting more so every day. I know about the strategic benefits of economies of scale from my personal experience of working as a consultant in a small merger and acquisition in 2006 in which two failing private schools joined together to become one successful entity. One of the major contributing factors for the success of this merger was that the combined organization had more people who were buying health insurance; as a result, the health insurance company substantially dropped their premiums because the risk was being spread across more people. Large companies can also buy basic supplies such as paper, pencils, and paperclips less expensively from suppliers when they buy in larger quantities. They simply get a

Her religion has not taken full form and she cannot yet present it in a compelling and coherent manner to convince people to join her community. She is somewhat fantastical about venturing beyond her housing wall and fully forming her religion. She literally lives surrounded by walls, symbolizing a cave that shields her from all that the outside world has to offer. Once she is forced to exist and live on her own, she structures Earthseed, her religion, and becomes able to fend for herself. Parable of the Sower takes place in a dystopian california in the not too distant future. At first, Lauren resides in the relative safety of a walled community of eleven homes, but her community is burned to the ground and she is forced to undergo a change. As she enters the real world and leaves her home, she gains knowledge and knowledge is powerful. Her change is apparent in both her actions and excerpts from her religion. Lauren exclaims, There has to be more that we can do, a better destiny that we can shape. Another place. Another way. Something! (151). Here, she haphazardly searches for something. She cannot even identify what she is looking for. Her desires are unclear and she presents them immaturely. Due to a series of financial panics around 1907, the Federal Reserve (also referred to as the Fed ) was created by Congress to promote a stable banking system and an active economy. The Federal Reserves greatest client and biggest spender is the government of the United States. All proceeds from taxes generated and disbursements are managed through the account that the United States government has set up with the Federal Reserve. The Fed operates independently of the government; however, the Feds jurisdiction originates from Congress and the Fed is subject to congressional supervision. Furthermore The President nominates the members of the Board of Governors which must be confirmed by the Senate. The salaries of the Fed are also set and appointed by the government. Although the Fed can exercise freedom in monetary determinations, the existing relationship with the government invites corruption particularly with the present administration and its champagne socialists. The musical takes a bold approach to its adaptations of the Disney soundtrack, incorporating electric guitars in a few of the numbers. The transitions throughout The Lion King were smooth and barely noticeable, except for one technical difficulty in the first act. After a special effect failed to occur, the audience was given a brief five minute intermission before the show resumed. The actors made a quick recovery and the scene ended seamlessly. The set and costumes weave a visual masterpiece, emulating a natural, yet lively and beautiful theme through the use of brightly patterned fabrics. As viewers follow their story they learn several things such as the hardships of the people of Japan, the endangerment of the regular civilians, and the unnecessary brutality of the American military. But the film, like all else, has its limitations, these include prospective and lack of time. Hardship is emphasized everywhere in the film, it is constantly poking the viewer to see the pain and suffering. This is immediately seen at the beginning of the film when we see one main character, Seita, on the ground of a train station. The director uses a pan shot to capture the condition of the boy, through this shot we see that he is badly famished and struggling for life. The director also uses an extreme close up on the boy with a fly on his face to convey that he lacks the energy to even swat a fly away. We can also later see the hardship of losing a family member to the bombings in the other main character, Setsuko. In the film, she as well as her brother lost their mother. Viewers can see the hardships that this carries with the author s use of reiteration. Again and again Setsuko is shown crying over their mother, asking about her, among other reactions due to the sudden loss of their mother. The fact that she keeps struggling with this loss shows the extent of the pain that this direct result of World War II brings to typical people of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
