Strategies And Characteristics Of The Crowned Eagle In Africa
Everyone probably had a thought of being a specific animal for a period of time, perhaps at that
moment, she didn t want to be a human being. So she thought, A Crowned Eagle would be pretty
interesting. Not only does the name sound super cool and fascinating, but it is a large bird of prey,
in other words, it is the most powerful eagle. The Crowned Eagle won t have to have concerns
about getting eaten, and mostly food supply. Moreover, the Crowned Eagle could just enjoy life
without having to worry about most of the survival needs. Because the strategies and steps of how
the eagle hunts are fantastically amazing. It even has a partner to support on huntingthe fast
monkeys. Besides the efficient hunting ability, it also has a strong build up body. The Crowned
eagle has many firm body parts that will help it to survive, such as the body mass, the strong talons,
and the beak length. Additionally, the flying ability that the Crowned eagle is able to do is beyond
expectations. Being a Crowned Eagle is an interesting thought with combinations of strong hunting
skills, the powerful body structure, and the beauty of flying.
The Crowned eagle is the most powerful eagle in Africa, in other words, the Crowned eagle is
considered the Africa s strongest predator. It s even eliminating over two heavier eagles: the Martial
Eagle, and Verreaux s eagle. According to, DinoAnimals it states, Crowned Eagle is an excellent
hunter on the ground, as opposed to the Harpy eagle which strikes

In A Long Walk to Water, Linda Sue Park tells a story about one out of a thousand Southern
Sudan lost boys named, Salva. Salva is a boy who ran away during the Southern Sudanese War.
Salva moves from country to country to get away from this war. During the war he loses touch
of his family. Salva soon escapes the war, now he s trying to find his way to safety. Salva was
able to survive In A Long Walk to Water, by having bravery, courage, and showing grit. Salva
shows bravely In A Long Walk to Water, when he crosses the river while the rebels were

starts to second guess his decision, but soon he makes up his mind and jumps in the river and
starts to swim. In the book it states, The soldiers started shooting into the river..... Salva had no
choice he jumps into the river and begins to swim. (Chapter 13, Page 78) This quote shows an
example of survival because he has to make a do or die decision to cross the river while the rebels

first day Salva had became the leader of the group of 1,500 lost boys. (Chapter, 13, Page 80) This

Colonization Of Native American Education
Colonization was detrimental to not only the physical bodies of the Native Americans, but to their
minds as well. The shift in indigenous education was a destructive one; Western education
completely overtook the indigenous education that had thrived for generations. Instead of allowing
education to benefit both indigenous and European peoples, it was used as a tool to destroy
indigenous culture. When the settlers from Europe and Spain first came to the Americas,
indigenous men and women articulated their petitions for more educational spaces (DГaz 60). The
attempt to share educational spaces was continuously rejected by the settlers in an attempt to spur
assimilation instead of cooperation. Educational spaces were slowly transitioning to becoming...

Europeans had different ideologies than indigenous peoples when it came to land in terms of
who could own the land. As a result of European entitlement, they assumed that the land was
available to be taken. The process of removing indigenous people from their land began, and the
settlers were justifying it by suggesting that is was not necessarily stealing land, but rather it was
saving the land from being misused by the savages that lived there previously (Sahlins 19).
Mindsets such as these finalized the traumatic process of Native American invisibility as they were
forced out of their land and their homes. As a direct result of the stealing of indigenous land,
racism began to influence other decisions that the colonizers were making. The settlers began to
spread the idea that they were more intelligent and more capable of building a society than the
Native Americans were. This mindset and many others were used to justify things such as stealing
the land from ocean to ocean, as well as disrespecting many treaties and even slaughtering Native
Americans to make them move off of their land (Finzsch

Paradiso On Extra Sensory Perception
After analyzing the text from Looking Glass House and the article by Paradiso and Dublon titled
Extra Sensory Perception provided by the stimulus packet, I was inspired to look into the effects of
violent video games on adolescents by asking the question, Do violent video games contribute to
youth violence? The advancing technology making virtual scenarios more lifelike that was
mentioned in Extra Sensory Perception combined with Alice s active imagination in Looking
Glass House made me question how impactful the use of violent video games might be on an
adolescent s mind. The impact of violent video games is becoming a more common debate
because, over the past few years, the sale of video games has skyrocketed and therefore, so many
teenagers and children are being exposed to the content of these games. The advancements in
technology have further enhanced the appeal of video games.... Show more content on

advancements in the recent past the gyroscopes and accelerometers that are now in every

in the article, the realistic graphics and animations of video games has also advanced. This increase
in life like video games draws more attention the violent content within the games and the effects of
this violence. Some psychologists, pediatricians, and parents are concerned that the violence in
video games influences youth to commit violent crimes or to act aggressively. When looking at the
issue from a psychological, a cultural/social, and a criminal perspective, it can be concluded that

Something I found particularly fascinating was the intricate process behind making a tomb that is

The Disney Princess Effect I Felt
The Disney Princess Effect I felt as though the text related to me in regards to being a little girl
and recalling exactly what the author is pertaining to. Going through the stages of wishing to be
a princess or waiting for your prince to arrive for the simple fact of the visual enchantment

would have more intelligent, confident and free women. The problem is the hidden message

Coquille Indian Tribe Research Paper

Mr. Luengo

Coquille Indian Tribe Located in Coos Bay, Oregon, lies the Coquille Indian Tribe standing strong
with over 1,000 members situated on 7,043 acres of land. This group of native americans derived
from a, mispronounced or misunderstood native word that described the river along which our
forebears lived or some particular physical attribute of the surrounding estuary environment, (Tribal
Heritage). Not to mention, that s exactly what this tribe is about, settling on low valleys of the
Coos and river waters. As can be seen, the Coquilles are a very distinctive group of native
americans due to their unique living styles. There are several features that make this group the way

The group has a unique lifestyle that makes them known as food gatherers and hunters. Most of
their settlements were located along lower parts of streams and rivers as well as the tidewaters.
This made travel easy, because all they had to do was follow the river home, and they would
rarely get lost. Another positive of the settlement near running waters was the abundant supply
of fish year round. The general hunting area was located on the highlands away from the water.
These techniques were not a secret, many tribes used this style of hunting and gathering.
Typically, the villages that were permanent were occupied by the members of a family or band
that lived in houses built of cedar timbers and planks. Villages have several buildings and
housing options to make it unique. Usually there was a long house used for communal purposes
and sheds used for either sleeping or storage. If there was a married couple, they received their
own house to live in with their families as well. Near hunting areas, shelter was no where near as
permanent, and housing was a lot less elaborate, considering they were made of branches under
trees, just enough shelter to keep away rain and wind and to provide shade.
The Coquille Indian Tribe is a very interesting tribe with unique

Leslie Sponsel s Approach to Investigation of the Amazon...
Leslie Sponsel takes a remarkably sensible approach to certain academic controversies over
anthropological investigation of the Amazon Basin. To some degree, Sponsel s article demands to
be understood in a larger context within the overall ecosystem of academic anthropology, so to
speak. As indicated in the title of her article, Sponsel approaches the subject with a special focus on
adaptation, which necessarily implies changing conditions. As she notes in her introductory remarks:
For convenience the review is organized around the following domains: ecosystem, cultural system,
change, and research trends and needs. An ecosystem is composed of abiotic and biotic components
which interact through the flow of energy, matter, and information, and all of this varies in space
and time. (67)
It is here that a reader in 2012 gets a glimpse of the much larger context. At the time of Sponsel s
writing in 1986, an ecological approach that included the flow of В¦information which varies in
space and time appears remarkable prescient, considering that in the three decades that have passed
since the article s original publication, Sponsel s own culture has undergone a complete
technological revolution in flow of В¦information : the Internet, the cellular telephone, the personal
computer were all in their infancy. This may seem like a minor point, but it indicates the
fundamental validity of Sponsel s approach: the contentious battles over theory between
anthropologists like

Education Of A School s Physical Education Program
education in a school system equally. Looking at it from this standpoint, we can say physical
education will have meaning when all of these factors are contributed and put together. We have to
work together to implement physical education in the schools, but it will all be worth it in the
long run (France, 2011, p.51). Staff, as stated from the article written by Huberty, is a big part of a
school s physical educationprogram. Most of the participants and staff from this study believe
physical activity is important, but limited because of the amount of homework given, pressure

Taking into consideration those factors and learning to differentiate lessons for those students is
very important for success and building of a physical education program. The most important part
about a physical education lesson is so each and every student is participating to his or her
fullest and best ability, while also learning something. Whether or not a lesson has to be
differentiated or adapted, they should all be learning (Ebbeck, 2015, p. 54). Saving the best for
last, obesity. According to schools in Texas and Governor Rick Perry, these schools will be
participating in physical education to reduce the beginning of diabetes. Since America is
considered overweight, they did not think there was a better way to hopefully decrease obesity
than to incorporate more physical education in to schools. Kindergarten through fifth grade
graders are required to exert for thirty minutes during PE or structured recess, which students will
begin this fall (Obesity, 2007, p.1). This also goes along with the taking away of recesses. We
should not be taking away things, which benefit our students lives. Overall, physical education
courses can help a students overall well being and health. This is the goal they aim to pursue at
these Texas schools. They also are requiring mandatory testing based upon levels of attendance,

The Jordan Brand
It is safe to say that everywhere we look, some form of the Jordan brand can be seen. From 1985
to present day, the Jordan label has filled the world with its products. So what is it about an
insignia of a miniature man with his arm outstretched that has millions of people clamoring for

himself, Michael Jordan. Some will also argue that the brand is not beneficial to the
impressionable adolescents of today. Does the Jordan symbol represent the greatness of a sport or
is it just a costly fad for the consumer?

Every year newer versions of the tennis shoe are put on the shelves. Sensibly, each new pairs are
just as expensive as the last, or even more so. Regardless of the prices, the little man with his ball

pricey tennis shoes? The answer can be found in the argument for the Jordan brand, greatness. If
people see others who are wearing these sought after tennis shoes receive good responses and
praises, it would only make sense for them to want to buy them. Unfortunately, a target for this
marketing strategy also includes young children and susceptible teens. Most of them are at the age

My Dream Of Becoming An Information Security Essay
As a child, I grew up enjoying mathematics and science; this led to my dream of becoming an
Information Security Analyst by majoring in Computer Engineering in college. I chose this
profession because over the past couple of years, the world has become more dependent on
technology, which means that there is more technology that needs to be developed and better
network securitywill need to be implanted to meet the progressing world s standards. By being in
this profession, there will always be job opportunities in small and large companies because
networks, computers, cell phones and many other gadgets are prone to being compromised. For
example, Boeing is a prestigious, global company that is one of the leading manufacturers of cyber
security that offers several internship and job opportunities to undergraduates and graduates. Future
graduates will be able to learn reliable information on what they need to become an information
securityanalyst because an intensive amount of time was taken to research and find credible sources.
Prior to graduating, future analysts will need to have knowledge of the profession and how they
will be able to become an information security analyst. Graduates should expect to plan and carry
out security measures to protect an organization s computer networks and systems in this
profession(United). Analysts also have duties such as monitoring the organization s networks for
security breaches, conduct investigations when breaches occur, install

What Makes One Happy In Bette Greene s Summer Of My German...
Summer of My German Soldier by Bette Greene is a poignant book that delivers a powerful
message about discovering what makes one happy. In this book, a young girl named Patty
Bergen is living in Arkansas during WWII. She lives with a family who makes her feel unloved
and she longs for a friend. Patty hides Anton, a German prisoner in her house and she ends up
developing a close bond with him. The main theme of Summer of My German Soldier is that one
must find the values within themselves in order to derive happiness and lead a successful life.
This is proven by the actions of both Patty and her father. Patty is able to demonstrate the theme
through her actions in the book. Before hiding Anton, Patty was constantly abased by the critiques
of her parents telling her that she wasn t pretty or that she had no worth. From the day you were
born you ve brought me nothing but misery, (Greene 161). This particular quote that was said to
Patty by her father shows why it was so difficult for Patty to find happiness. By hiding Anton, Patty

on other people to make him feel loved and better about himself. His failure to discover his own
values proves the theme of this book, as Mr. Bergen failed to find

The seventies can be known for many things, for you it could ve have meant the year that your

soon taken out in 2003 when it crashed in 2000. During the seventies a lot of singers died, which
could ve had left you heartbroken. Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and Elvis Presley were all found
dead in the 1970s. Over in England it was a huge year in 1977, there was a huge royal
celebration, and the sex pistols released God Save The Queen which was a huge hit. Many things

Led Zeppelin became really huge in the 70s recording up to ten albums, but broke up in the 80s
when one of the members died. Disco is also a widely know, and its sometimes its used to

Types Of Personality Tests Exist Today
ISFJ Personality Type Many types of personality tests exist today. The Meyers Briggs test has
been proven valid and reliable by hundreds of studies over the past 40 years (MBTI Basics). My
personality type is ISFJ which stands for Introverted, Sensing, Feeling and Judging. Learning
about my personality type has helped me realize which careers that would be good, the best way
for to study, my ability to successfully work on a team and even how my personality typeimpacts
my personal relationships. The description of this personality type seems to be an accurate

Why Is Casablanca An Historical Evidence
Response Paper #3 Casablanca As Historical Evidence
Looking at the socially or culturally history of the United States, many historians use
Hollywood films as a primary source. I also used many films such as Easy Rider (1969) or
Dance, Girl, Dance (1941) to support my historical thesis paper and to make the topic more vivid
by using the images of the film. Even though, some people think that films are accurate and
authentic in its depiction, it is important to mention that films are still fictional. Directors and
actors are responsible to make us believe their story, but this story does not have to be necessarily
true. In that way, fictional films cannot be used as historical evidence in terms of how things

Nevertheless, it seems that they represent American society in the 1940 s. The character of Rick
portrays an unconventional hero who tries to stay outside of everyone s business, but in the end it
is him who saves Laszlo s and Ilsa s life. This reminds me of the role of America during WWII. At
first, the United States tried to stay out of the war, but when they were forced to react after Pearl
Harbor, they got involved. The film also refers to this when Rick asks his friend Sam if he knows
what time it is in New York. Before Sam can reply, Rick says that it must be December 1941,
which was the time when the attack against Pearl Harbor occurred. Ilsa, on the other hand,
represents the role of American women. She is described as the most beautiful woman that has
been seen in Casablanca. Her appearance reminds me of the typical image of an ideal American
girl blonde, pretty and conservative. She tries to act in a moral way when she finds out that her
presumed dead husband is still alive and she leaves Rick at the station in Paris. This reminds me
of how women were treated during the 1940 s. It was their responsibility to take care of the
family business, but in the end men would have the final decision. Ilsa tries to get the transit visa

The Battle of Midway
The Battle of Midway
The United States faced the Japanese in the Pacific Ocean during World War II in what was later
known as some of the most gruesome battles in either country s history. The Pacific theatre of
World War II consisted of a series of bloody conflicts in which the United States responded to early
Japanese victories with an offensive campaign that won a decisive victory for the Allies. Although
many significant battles were fought in the Pacific, the most important battle was the Battle of
Midway, because it was a decisive victory for the Allies that changed the course of the war
completely.
The United States officially joined World War II on December 8, 1941, the day after the
devastating attack on Pearl Harbor and the loss of more than 2,000 lives. However, American
forces were already on the defensive as the Japanese military pushed British Borneo, Hong Kong,
Guam, and the Philippines. The battle that occurred at Luzon was a devastating defeat, resulting
76,000 American soldiers surrendering to Japanese forces. These men were forced to march from
Bataan, a long and terrible journey in which thousands of men were killed by Japanese soldiers,
malnutrition, and diseases such as malaria. Losing the Philippines was disastrous; the Bataan
death march and the defeat of General MacArthur seriously damaged the morale of the American
people. The islands of the Philippines itself were also a major loss to the United States as their
location had provided for a

Consequence Of Expectations In Oedipus The King And Offred
Consequence of Trying to Meet Others Expectations It is human nature to expect a lot from the
people around us. Expectations are all achievable with effort, but what if those expectations
prevented the chance to make our lives extraordinary? Carpe diem, seize the day, it is this principle
that makes life worth pursuing, others expectations should not interfere in the making of a pleasant
life. In the play, Death of a Salesman, Oedipus the King , and the novel Handmaid s Tale, Willy
Loman, Oedipus, and Offred all strive to meet these expectations set by others. In attempts to do so,
the main characters decide to prevent their own satisfactory lives for the betterment of the people
around them and neglect the potential consequences of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As King, Oedipus feels like it is his duty to serve the needs of his people over his own. In other
words, he feels expected to do everything in his power to make the lives of his people
extraordinary. He states to his people: You pray to the gods? Let me grant your prayers...
(Sophocles 13). Evidently, Oedipus is confident and truly feels expected to do this for his
people, when in reality, he has the choice to not do anything at all. It was his decision to support
his people despite people like Teiresais advising against it. Oedipus s determination to solve the
problem of his kingdom ended up with him realizing that he was the problem. As king, he stayed
true to his word and banished himself from the land for the betterment of his people. Similarly,
in the novel The Handmaid s Tale, Offred Suffered her entire purpose in life, contradicting the
principle of Carpe Diem for the betterment of men. Once presented the opportunity to escape
from what can only be seen as slavery, she questioned herself. She said to herself I ve crossed no
boundaries, I ve given no trust, taken no risk, all is safe... (Atwood 92) It s the choice that
terrifies me, a way out, a salvation (Atwood 92) Clearly, Offred has done nothing wrong and till
this point, has lived up to everyone s expectation so that everyone (being men) can live
satisfactory lives. If she had made the decision to avoid the risk of essentially being a sex slave, she
wouldn t have to lose her

The Implementation Of The Internal Revenue Code Of 1954

The waste to energy skill is explored to development the possible materials in waste which are
biomass, plastic and rubber tire to be oil. The bulk of waste tyres are disposed in landfills, ensuing
in a sort of troubles such as taking up huge quantity of more and more precious landfill space and
unintentional fires resulting in highly toxic emissions such as nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulphur
dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), carbon monoxide (CO) and hazardous polycyclic
aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) [2 4]. A variety of strategies have been planned as choices to
waste tyre managing, all planning at tyre reprocess. Waste tyres can regrettably not be recycled
in traditional ways such as glass, metal or plastic by thaw out to attain raw material for new
products. This is as a consequence of the compound nature of tyres, which consist of steel,
rubber, carbon black, ash, fillers, etc. [5]. One more snag is that the polymers in the tyres are
cross linked, and these bonds cannot be chemically broken down simply [6]. Pyrolysis is distinct
as the method by which materials are thermally degraded by subjection to high temperature in the
lack of oxygen [7]. The pyrolysis process is effectual in the recycling of waste materials, counting
waste tyres, and thus contributes to decrease the ecological impact of waste tyres [8]. The
pyrolysis process yields three main products i.e., a gas, liquid and solid [9]. The

Evaluation Of The Systems Functions, Vulnerabilities, And...
SCADA Systems is considered a vital aspect of Critical Infrastructures, which is tied to all other
Critical Infrastructures. In the modern age where automation is emerging as a normal part of daily
function, the need for a system to monitor and control these automated processes is required. While
automationyields an overabundance of benefits such as reduced operating costs and efficiency, it is
not without flaws. SCADASystems are like any other program in the sense that it is vulnerable to
attacks. As the automation continues to evolve, security threats will parallel the growth and
demands innovative protection methods. This paper will provide an overview of SCADA Systems
functions, vulnerabilities, and protection suggestions.
What is SCADA and why do we as a society need it? Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition
(SCADA) systems are a distributed network over a large geographic area to control industrial
automated services. Some examples are the electric energy systems, nuclear energy systems, water
and sewage treatment facilities, and transportation systems. Think of a factory with a foreman
overseeing production. The foreman is monitoring employee s activities to ensure the production is
as efficient, safe, and of the highest quality possible.

The environment, defined by Duncan (1972) as the totality of physical and social factors that are
taken directly into consideration in the decision making behavior of individuals in the organization
has changed for the Senate. Specifically, the collective bargaining agreement put in place has
changed the social structure of the relationship between the faculty and the administration. The
previously understood purview of the Senate has been altered by this significant environmental
change.
The process undertaken to brainstorm the issue of Senate direction was an example of the senate
working to modify an element of the university collegium in place at BGSU. University
collegium is described by Downey (2006) in part as: the complex network of assumptions,
traditions, protocols, relations and structures which permit the professoriate to control the
academic affairs of the institution . Utilizing general principles of social constructionism, ideas
were considered by the senators in an informal peer to peer fashion to address the above
questions. Working as a community of scholars with a wide variety of specializations, the senators
made an effort to collectively define a new role for the Senate. Their ideas were collected and will
be synthesized, with the intent of producing a sense of the Senate document to be used to guide
further activities. The outcome of this

The Government And Specific Interest Groups Create Public...
In the United States, the government and specific interest groups create public policies to solve
internal problems and protect their citizens. Public policies can include any action, plan, or rule,
which relates to issues of domestic national importance. Once a certain issue becomes a concern
for a significant amount of people, it becomes a component of the national agenda, which is what
the public wants the government to acknowledge. Many of these problems are addressed because
they negatively affect a significant amount of people (Sparknotes: How Policy Gets Made). For
the past few years, one of the major issues in the United States is illegal immigration. Unlike today,
a person immigrating illegally was not a major issue years ago. Today unfortunately, there are so
many illegal immigrants from all over the world that it has become an issue no one can completely
control.
It was recorded in 2012 that approximately 40.8 million illegal immigrants live in the United States,
which makes up thirteen percent of the country. Data on the nativity of the U.S. population were
first collected 1850 decennial census. That year, there were 2.2 million immigrants in the United
States, representing almost ten percent of the total population (Nwosu, Chiamaka). What is the
total number of immigrants that have entered the United States since 2000? Approximately thirty

The overall purpose of this brief paper is to characterize the main concepts, main techniques, and
any current research that supports contextual therapy in relation to contextual theory. While the
purpose of this exercise was to demonstrate knowledge of counseling theories not addressed in class
sessions, contextual therapy (which has also been referred to as contextual family therapyin prior
literature) is not per se a theory as much as it is a method of therapy based on Ivan Boszormenyi
Nagy s contextual theory. In his determination that there is more to understanding an individual s

Excluding such information could lead to misrepresenting the factors by which the client
experiences the world and bankrupt the influence of culture on development. Boszormenyi Nagy
stretches facts to include those details about world views that are a product of our own created
reality that is culminated by choice and agency. While a child certainly does not have a choice into
what family they are born into, the parents do have a choice into how they will interact with each
other around that child, such that, inconsistencies or neglect of that healthy relationship could
create for the child a fact that unhealthy conflict is normal or that they must choose sides of
affection (Goldenthal, 2005). Since there is an underlying foundation of psychotherapy present,
contextual therapy accounts for facts that may be present that the client may not be able to bring to
their conscience or that they may be unwilling to acknowledge that were out of their control, but
nevertheless, still occurred (Ruzgyte, 2011).
Psychology. The functioning of the person within was also heavily regarded by Boszormenyi Nagy,
such that his reflections from psychoanalytical theories would illuminate the need to connect the
parts of the individual psyche: cognitive abilities; emotional functioning; instinctual drives; internal
conflicts; moral and intellectual development; and concepts of object relations theory with the other

Analysis Of The Movie The Film
I was not planning on reviewing this before it aired, but after screening it, I was so utterly

this one goes far beyond that. I never once had to remind myself to concentrate on the positive
aspects of the film. The acting, the story, and the message were one of the finest Hallmark has
featured in some time. Not to mention, it was gentle, amusing, and genuinely enjoyable family
viewing. At the beginning of the film, we are introduced to Maya and Addison as played by
Rachael and Hannah respectively. To be honest, Rachael was new to me I am far behind on
television films from the past. I am playing proverbial catch up right now. Hannah was a returning
favorite from both October Kiss and even My Sweet Adrina. Both actresses were enchanting, and I
could sympathize with single mother Maya dropping off her techie daughter at summer camp. I
think many parents will understand the dilemma. What? No cell phones at camp? Rachael infused
Maya s character with precisely the right kind of motherly intuition and skills (well, she is a mother
in real life, and I would suppose that is advantageious in this situation). And Hannah characterizes
Addison just as one would expect. Definitely a wonderful relationship between the two actresses to
play such a convincing mother daughter relationship on

O Neill s Non Fiction Piece, The Firecracker Boys
O Neill s non fiction piece, The Firecracker Boys, provides an in depth depiction of the morality
and ecological problems behind the peaceful use of nuclear bombs . Unmasking true intentions, O
Neill describes the Atomic Energy Commission s (AEC) push to continue nuclear bomb testing,
regardless of the global moratorium or the resulting implications it would have on national
relations with the Soviets. O Neill provides a perspective that sees through all of the
misconstrued data and influential power of the AEC, showing clear drivers behind the backing of
these destructive practices. As a whole, The Firecracker Boys addresses both the environmental
and social injustices that the AEC and its proponents wholeheartedly represented. On October 31,
1958, a global moratorium on all nuclear bomb testing was put into effect after the scientific and
public community became increasingly aware of the negative effects that the radioactive fallout
was having on both the ecological and social communities. Strontium 90, a toxic chemical found
in this fallout was being taken up as calcium by the living organisms in the radioactive zones.
According to O Neill, A single teaspoon of it, if distributed evenly among all the people on earth,
would kill every one of them within a few years (O Neill, 51). Once this chemical is taken up by
living organisms, it enters the immensely interconnected food chain. Specifically in Alaska, the
radioactive fallout found its way into the native

Rhetorical Devices Used In A Modest Proposal
In any piece of literature, consideration of the audience is key in assuring that not only the overall
theme, but also the desired reaction to the work is attained. In terms of analysis, identifying the
audience may lead to greater insight, as depending on individual traits and beliefs, responses can
vary wildly from one group of people to the next, and in identifying the audienceand their
respective feedback, one can hone in on the author s intended purpose of the work and judge
whether or not the work in itself is effective in communicating its point. In Jonathan Swift s
controversial essay A Modest Proposal, he achieves this successful conveyance by utilizing
careful appeals such as logos, ethos, and pathos in a prolific manner and in such a way so as to

Irish populace. In addition to this, Swift also distances himself from the issue of Irish

Besides that, buyers can persuade sellers to reduce price again by immediate payment. At last,
after the price reduction of the seller for several times, there is almost little space to reduce it
continually, so it appeals to be better that both sides can seek the middle price between the range
so that no matter the buyer or the seller both are able to share the loss then achieve a win win
situation. As the seller, first of all if the buyer offer 7500 at the beginning, actually the upper
limit price he can accept is 8000, so the seller at this moment should take the strategy that the
scope of reduction should be smaller than last time, at fist the scope can be larger but then at the
latter reduction the scope should be much smaller like 8500 8200 8050 8000.In this way the
seller not only let the buyer realize it has already reached the limit but also every reduction will
cause huge loss to seller side. Therefore, the buyer will feel it seems to benefit from the seller.
Then, initiatively offer some alternatives such as the car cover to increase the whole value of the
used car, at the meantime, let the buyer know the seller side has made concessions. At last, the
seller should stick to the first price as far as possible, and make the comparison with the

Essay On Vitamin D
Breast tumors in laboratory mice deficient in vitamin D grow faster and are more prone to
metastasis than tumors in mice with adequate levels of vitamin D , according to a preliminary
study conducted by researchers at the University s School of Medicine. Stanford, in the United
States. The research points to a direct relationship between circulating levels of vitamin D and the
expression of a gene called ID1, which is known to be associated with tumor growth and breast
cancermetastasis.
The finding is based on several previous studies that suggest that low levels of vitamin D not only
increase a person s risk of developing breast cancer, but also correlate with more aggressive tumors
and worse prognosis.

calcium absorption and bone health .
The existence of a relationship between vitamin D and calcium metabolism is well known , but

know that I will enjoy my time there with the dorms that look very nice and comfortable
(Housing). The dorm that that would be the comfortable for me would cost $4,856 (Housing).
Not only is the collage a great price and the dorms are very nice, but the Millersville soccer team is
also what I am looking for (Millersville University Athletics). Millersville soccer team is Division II
and they have a pretty goot record (Millersville University Athletics). Their record of 2017 is 6 9
2 (Millersville University Athletics). Lastly, the soccer team carries a lot of girls on the team,
which is something to consider because I want to be able to get a lot of playing time in my four
years of playing (Millersville University

  • 6. Colonization Of Native American Education Colonization was detrimental to not only the physical bodies of the Native Americans, but to their minds as well. The shift in indigenous education was a destructive one; Western education completely overtook the indigenous education that had thrived for generations. Instead of allowing education to benefit both indigenous and European peoples, it was used as a tool to destroy indigenous culture. When the settlers from Europe and Spain first came to the Americas, indigenous men and women articulated their petitions for more educational spaces (DГaz 60). The attempt to share educational spaces was continuously rejected by the settlers in an attempt to spur assimilation instead of cooperation. Europeans had different ideologies than indigenous peoples when it came to land in terms of who could own the land. As a result of European entitlement, they assumed that the land was available to be taken. The process of removing indigenous people from their land began, and the settlers were justifying it by suggesting that is was not necessarily stealing land, but rather it was saving the land from being misused by the savages that lived there previously (Sahlins 19). Mindsets such as these finalized the traumatic process of Native American invisibility as they were forced out of their land and their homes. As a direct result of the stealing of indigenous land, racism began to influence other decisions that the colonizers were making. The settlers began to spread the idea that they were more intelligent and more capable of building a society than the Native Americans were. This mindset and many others were used to justify things such as stealing the land from ocean to ocean, as well as disrespecting many treaties and even slaughtering Native Americans to make them move off of their land (Finzsch ... Leslie Sponsel takes a remarkably sensible approach to certain academic controversies over anthropological investigation of the Amazon Basin. To some degree, Sponsel s article demands to be understood in a larger context within the overall ecosystem of academic anthropology, so to speak. As indicated in the title of her article, Sponsel approaches the subject with a special focus on adaptation, which necessarily implies changing conditions. As she notes in her introductory remarks: For convenience the review is organized around the following domains: ecosystem, cultural system, change, and research trends and needs. An ecosystem is composed of abiotic and biotic components which interact through the flow of energy, matter, and information, and all of this varies in space and time. (67) It is here that a reader in 2012 gets a glimpse of the much larger context. At the time of Sponsel s writing in 1986, an ecological approach that included the flow of В¦information which varies in space and time appears remarkable prescient, considering that in the three decades that have passed since the article s original publication, Sponsel s own culture has undergone a complete technological revolution in flow of В¦information : the Internet, the cellular telephone, the personal computer were all in their infancy. Summer of My German Soldier by Bette Greene is a poignant book that delivers a powerful message about discovering what makes one happy. In this book, a young girl named Patty Bergen is living in Arkansas during WWII. She lives with a family who makes her feel unloved and she longs for a friend. Patty hides Anton, a German prisoner in her house and she ends up developing a close bond with him. The Battle of Midway The Battle of Midway The United States faced the Japanese in the Pacific Ocean during World War II in what was later known as some of the most gruesome battles in either country s history. Although many significant battles were fought in the Pacific, the most important battle was the Battle of Midway, because it was a decisive victory for the Allies that changed the course of the war completely. Public policies can include any action, plan, or rule, which relates to issues of domestic national importance. Once a certain issue becomes a concern for a significant amount of people, it becomes a component of the national agenda, which is what the public wants the government to acknowledge. Many of these problems are addressed because they negatively affect a significant amount of people (Sparknotes: How Policy Gets Made). For the past few years, one of the major issues in the United States is illegal immigration. Unlike today, a person immigrating illegally was not a major issue years ago. Today unfortunately, there are so many illegal immigrants from all over the world that it has become an issue no one can completely control. I never once had to remind myself to concentrate on the positive aspects of the film. The acting, the story, and the message were one of the finest Hallmark has featured in some time. Not to mention, it was gentle, amusing, and genuinely enjoyable family viewing. At the beginning of the film, we are introduced to Maya and Addison as played by Rachael and Hannah respectively. To be honest, Rachael was new to me I am far behind on television films from the past. I am playing proverbial catch up right now. Hannah was a returning favorite from both October Kiss and even My Sweet Adrina. Both actresses were enchanting, and I could sympathize with single mother Maya dropping off her techie daughter at summer camp. I think many parents will understand the dilemma. What? No cell phones at camp? Rachael infused Maya s character with precisely the right kind of motherly intuition and skills (well, she is a mother in real life, and I would suppose that is advantageious in this situation). O Neill s Non Fiction Piece, The Firecracker Boys O Neill s non fiction piece, The Firecracker Boys, provides an in depth depiction of the morality and ecological problems behind the peaceful use of nuclear bombs . Unmasking true intentions, O Neill describes the Atomic Energy Commission s (AEC) push to continue nuclear bomb testing, regardless of the global moratorium or the resulting implications it would have on national relations with the Soviets. O Neill provides a perspective that sees through all of the misconstrued data and influential power of the AEC, showing clear drivers behind the backing of these destructive practices. As a whole, The Firecracker Boys addresses both the environmental and social injustices that the AEC and its proponents wholeheartedly represented. On October 31, 1958, a global moratorium on all nuclear bomb testing was put into effect after the scientific and public community became increasingly aware of the negative effects that the radioactive fallout was having on both the ecological and social communities. Strontium 90, a toxic chemical found in this fallout was being taken up as calcium by the living organisms in the radioactive zones. According to O Neill, A single teaspoon of it, if distributed evenly among all the people on earth, would kill every one of them within a few years (O Neill, 51).
