a) You could complete your plan as either:
1. A numbered list, making sure to explain each point
2. A flow diagram ensuring that each process has enough description for the apprentices to
understand what is happening.
(Hint: think back to class where we discussed the sequence of activities that must be included in
preparing for upgrades and installations)
b) Your second plan must detail the sequence of activities required for the upgradeof the anti virus

Task 2
(P4) (P5) Record and complete both a software installation and upgrade. In preparation for (D1)
you should have in mind what you will install / upgrade and why.
Use annotated screen shots to document the processes and stages of each task.
(M3) (M4) what do we mean by data integrity and security? Data is the most valuable commodity
in a PC system. You need to plan and use procedures to enable the safe recovery of user data in the
event of data loss during upgrading and also the safe recovery of the entire system in the event of
catastrophic failure resulting from upgrading.
Write the plan and use before and after screenshots to prove that you have successfully completed
both sets of procedures.

Immigration Reform In The US
The federal government has failed to enact immigration reform and invest in infrastructure to
restore the U.S. economy. More illegal immigrants are residing in the U.S., unlawfully crossing the
border, and overstaying visas each year. The goal of American politics is equal treatment under the
law. All persons that stand before the law are treated the same regardless of their race, religion, skin
color, national origin, and even sexual identity. I think that the U.S. is ready for immigrationreform
because it s become a matter of basic civil rights for the millions of people who are living in the
U.S. illegally. Immigration laws encourage racial profiling by law enforcement. The problem for
immigration is that the institutional design of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Over the years, lawmakers didn t make big investments into infrastructure in the U.S. because
they didn t know how to fund infrastructure without raising taxes or adding to the national deficit.
So, the root cause of a problem like neglected infrastructure in the U.S. stems from American
political processes. Political processes are basically how something gets done. In 2009, fiscally
conservative Republicans turned down a $478 billion investment plan for infrastructure
(Berman, 2015). But, I don t think that lawmakers can keep putting off on investments in public
safety because the U.S. is losing economic competitiveness, jobs, and growth. One of Trump s
biggest campaign promises was revitalizing U.S. roads, bridges, and airports. Trump says that his
$550 billion infrastructure plan will grow the U.S. economy and create more jobs (Great Again,
2015). Trump s also planning on private sector investors funding this project with tax credits to
give investors a return on their investments. I think it s about time for a more reliable and
efficient transportation system. For example, in 2007, the I 35W bridge in Minneapolis
collapsed during rush hour, killing 13 people and injuring 145 people (Change, 2007). Faulty
design led to the bridge collapse. One more example is an Amtrak train that derailed in
Philadelphia in 2015, killing 8 people and injuring 200 people (Calvert Loftus, 2015). The train
accelerated toward a curve but investigators didn t know if the engineer caused the train to speed
up, if there was a mechanical error, or if there was something about the track that cased the crash.
Airports in the U.S. are also operating beyond the capacity that they were intended to manage and
that s why terminals are crowded and there s longer waiting times to get through customs especially
at international airports. One time, Joe Bidden even compared LaGuardia Airport in New York to

Comparison Of Depression In The Big Sur By Jack Kerouac
Depression affects 350 million people and is the leading cause of disability worldwide. Everyone
deals with depression a different way but it is not easy, the best way is to see a professional and
talk about it to try to let it all out, but most people come up with their own way. Depressed modern
poets such as Jack Kerouacand Sylvia Plath tried to shock themselves into reality and heal their
depression and feelings about certain subjects with alcohol and electroconvulsive therapy but could
not. They both decided to chose the outlet of poetry and release their negative feelings by writing
about similar themes. This becomes evident when one draws similarities between themes such as
isolation, nature and loveproven by examining The Big Sur by Jack Kerouac and many poetic
works from Sylvia Plath. Being a popular poet can do alot to one, and if ones fans only care about
their work and not their true feelings the artist tends to feel isolated.
When one is depressed he/she tends to isolate themselves. Kerouac and Plath both do this when
they are writing. In many of Plath s poems she writes about her loneliness, and in some she even
tells God. Plath is so depressed that she associate s life with loneliness, which proves that Plath
feels she is isolated God, but life is loneliness (Under the Night Starry Sky, Plath). Plath feels
empty, she feels useless, she is tired and just wants to relax, this proves that Plath is giving up and
she is so upset with her life that she does

On Dumpster Diving Rhetorical Analysis
Lars Eighner represents the thousands of homeless people that have simply fallen victim of
financial struggles, holding strongly onto his respect for others, his community, and himself,
despite the difficulties he faces. According to Eighner s website, he spent time at the University of
Austin, Texas studying creative writing, which is clear through his writing techniques and narrative
style. However after falling on hard times, Eighner ended up homeless. While homeless in the late
80 s Eighner composed the essay On Dumpster Diving. It need not take long for one to find his
purpose in writing the essay. Dumpster diving and homelessnessare deeply connected to a notion of
poor life choices, mental illness, and substance abuse. And while Eighner doesn t deny that many
people he encounters are winos, Eighner s purpose is to represent dumpster diving, in sense, as an
art; reclaiming homelessness as a modern form of self reliance. ... Show more content on

Essay about The Physics of Car Collisions
Basic Concepts
Issac Newton was the first to state the concepts that are necessary to understanding the physics of
collisions. His three laws are used again and again in all the fields of physics:
Newton s 1st Law
In the absence of external forces, an object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in
motion with a constant velocity.
This law can be best observed in space, far from the gravity of a star or planet, where there is no
friction or air resistance. If, in the middle of deep space, you give a rock a little push, it will
continue with the direction and velocity you gave it forever. The only way to stop it is to apply a
force in the opposite direction. This law is not intuitive because we are surrounded ... Show more

Every single action has an equal and opposite reaction. If you were standing in the middle of a
perfectly slick frozen lake, and needed to get off, you could throw an object away from you.
When you applied force to the object you threw, it also applied an equal force pushing you back.
You would travel in the opposite direction from the throw, although slower, because you probably
have mass more than the object you threw.
Static and Kinetic Friction
Friction is a key concept when you are attempting to understand car accidents. The force of
friction is a force that resists motion when two objects are in contact. If you look at the surfaces of
all objects, there are tiny bumps and ridges. Those microscopic peaks and valleys catch on one
another when two objects are moving past each other.
This explanation is a little simplified. There are other processes at work, including chemical
bonding and electrical interactions.
The level of friction that different materials exhibit is measured by the coefficient of friction.
The formula is Вµ = f / N, where Вµ is the coefficient of friction, f is the amount of force that
resists motion, and N is the normal force. Normal force is the force at which one surface is being
pushed into another. If a rock that weighs 50 newtons is lying on the ground, then the normal force
is that 50 newtons of force. The higher Вµ is, the more force resists motion if two objects are
sliding past each other.

Vinegar Lab Report
How Much Acetic Acid Is in Vinegar?
The chemical makeup of certain acids and bases that are not managed reacted properly can be
harmful and a result of improperly measured acids and bases. This could have a negative effect
on humans pertaining to different liquids that could be consumed or physically hazardous to the
body. However, due to decades of research in the department of science, it can be confirmed that
ideas like the HSAB Principle and the Lewis Principle help categorize acids and bases between
being harmful or not and secondarily help humans be more cautious, according to professor Tse Lok
Ho.1 However, experimental these measurements can be specified and determined through
titrations. According to Jakub Ederer and other researchers, titrations have quick and determinable
results and do not require a lot of money and are commonly used for acids.2 The Lab Manual
provides an experiment that includes a titration to determine the moles of acetic acid (HC2H3O2) in
a specific amount of vinegar.3 To follow through with this experiment, the acid basereaction has a
known molar concentration of NaOH solution that reacts with an unknown molar concentration of
acetic acid to make water and NaC2H3O2, resulting in a titration. Before the initial trial titration, a
thorough cleaning procedure of the buret and materials was necessary to ensure there is no
contamination of other chemicals or solutions. The buret was washed out with soap, tap water, and
distilled water with no

Design Oriented And Patterns Oriented Perspective On An...
Introduction
Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a coherent set of descriptions, covering a regulations oriented,
design oriented and patterns oriented perspective on an enterprise, which provides indicators and
controls that enable the informed governance of the enterprise s evolution and succesd1. In simple
terms, an EA is a conceptual blueprint that defines the structure of an organization in terms of its
operation and interaction among various units within it.
As organizations become larger, operations management become bigger and more cumbersome,
hence the need for an enterprise architecture framework that can describe the underlying
infrastructure, providing the groundwork for the hardware, software, networks and people to work2.
There are a number of enterprise architecture framework in use today with many of them having
similar views and approaches in an attempt to address various needs and concerns of an
organization. Zachman framework for enterprise architecture is one of the major EA framework in
use today and is considered to be one of the pioneers in the ES domain. Zachman EA framework
adopts principles of classical architecture that establish a common vocabulary and set of
perspectives for describing complex enterprise systems2. The Zachman Framework is made up of
six perspectives or views, which are Planner, Owner, Designer, Builder, Subcontractor, and User.
The second dimension of Zachman s Framework deals with the six basic questions: what, how,

The Classical And Hellenistic Period
Greek sculpture is known for its beauty and attention to detail. Two of the most prominent eras in
Greek sculpture are the Classical and Hellenistic periods. The Classical period took place from
500 323 BC. It is the period between Persian wars and ends with the death of Alexander the Great
(History). Classical sculpturesare known for being less detailed more stagnant. The Hellenistic
period begins when the Classical period ends, in 323 BC. This period ends in 31 BC with the
conquest of the last Hellenistic kingdom by Rome (Simonin). Hellenistic sculptures are known for
being more realistic and active. Both periods of sculpturefocused heavily on human anatomy, they
just differed in their approaches to illustrate the human body.... Show more content on

Zeus gave Dionysus to Hermes to protect the baby from Zeus wife, who was jealous because
Zeus was unfaithful to his wife Hera with Dionysus s mother, Semele (Bergman). Hermes, the
messenger of the Greek gods, is sculpted leaning against what appears to be a tree covered in
draping. His right arm, that is broken, reaches upwards as if he is holding something. His left
arm, holds a small child, Dionysus, who reaches towards something that Hermes may have been
holding. Dionysus is the god of wine and fertility. The tree trunk alludes to symbolism of
Dionysus as he is also the god of things that grow by leaps and bounds suddenly in spring (Csapo
258). Dionysus was also known for the chaos and parties that would erupt around him. Hermes
appears to be looking at Dionysus. They are both sculpted nude as many sculptures of this time
were. Hermes s body language suggests that he is very relaxed. The sculpture also appears to be
unfinished and features some rasp and chisel marks [that] reveal a partial reworking of the back
, as well as, Traces of red paint may indicate that Hermes hair, lips, and sandals were gilded
originally (Wilcox Classical Museum). The statue of Hermes and Dionysus laid a foundation for
sculpture of the later eras. Hellenistic sculpture became more varied in subject matter and style.
This period of time was characterized by a strong sense of history (Hemingway). This era is known
for its innovation, expansion

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Natural Gas

This transfers the Carbon from the Earth to the Environment leading to the Global Warming
Effect. Natural Gas has been touted as a much Greener Fuel as compared to Oil and Coal.
However some experts dispute the fact that Natural Gas is cleaner and say that if you consider the
lifetime impact from the mining of Gas to its use it may be more harmful to the environment than
Oil. Natural Gas leads to Air Pollution due to some Gas that escapes into the Air and it?s not
possible to capture all the Natural Gas that is released. Water pollution is also accounted for as one
of the shortcomings of natural gas
Furthermore, the deliberate increase in terrorism in USA can be traced to huge amount of money
been generate from natural gas. E.g. terrorist attack on America by Osama Bin Laden Like other
sources of fossil fuel energy, Natural Gas Energy has much impact in depleting, and does not form
a sustainable answer to man?s energy questions. Natural Gas is highly combustible and it can lead
to explosions if not carefully handled. This is the reason that it is not used in vehicles more. Also it
exists mostly in the gaseous state which makes handling it more difficult than Oil.

1.3 Skopos theory
I will use the skopos theory to support my ideas in this whole thesis, which will be explained
roughly in this paragraph and in detail with instance in the following part. Skopos theory is the
most important part of the German Functionalist School. It was first advanced by Hans J.Vermeer
and improved by Justa Holzв€’Manttari and Christiane Nord later. The word skopos comes from
Greek, meaning purpose, motive and function . The point of this theory is the principle of
purpose, defined by those German Functionalist translators as every activities of translation is
decided by the purpose of translation, which in one word means method depends on purpose
(Reiss and Vermeer 1984: 101; Nord 2001: 29).
Generally speaking, the skopos theory believes that the result decides the method. So this theory
solves the contradiction between some of the traditional western translation theory, such as
equivalent value , equivalent effect and functional equivalence . It discards the traditional western
translation standard, believing that the quality of a translation is not judged by its equivalent value
or equivalent effect with the original version but the adequacy with the purpose of translation. It
means that translation can use various methods to translate, such as literal translation or rewrite or
any method between these two, as long as it can help to achieve the expected function of the

Underlying Causes Of Ww1 Research Paper
The three underlying causes of WW1 were militarism, alliances, and imperialism. WW1 was a
war fought in Europe between Germany, Russia, France, Great Britain, the U.S. and other
countries. But the main cause of WW1 is unknown. The question remains, what is the real reason
for WW1. A few reasons that could be responsible for one of the greatest wars the world has ever
seen are militarism, alliances, and imperialism. Militarism was one cause for the start of WW1.
Germany spent millions of dollars to strengthen their military to get it ready for war. Many
countries then felt threatened, and this caused them to also put millions into their militaries as
well. With having the largest military, Germany was more than ready to to use their army.
Germany was so confident that they could win the war with their new army that as soon as war
was declared, they didn t hesitate to be the hammer. But this would be a problem because of the
other nations rushing to industrialize their armies. Militarism was a huge factor in the cause of

Difference Between Pre And Prehistory
1.History vs. Prehistory
a.What is prehistory and how is this concept or term defined?
ANSWER: Prehistory is the era before people could write. It is the time and events that happened
before the history has written down and led to the development of something. [ ] Others defined
prehistory as from the creation of the universe, while some refer to it as time since the
development of life on earth. But others mainly define prehistory as the period of time beginning
with the appearance of human beings. Basically, prehistoric period is the era when the existence of
human beings began. [ ]
b.What is the history of the term (and etymology) as well as the discipline that covers history?
How did it begin and what were the reasons for its beginning?
ANSWER: The Ancient Greek word бј±ПѓП„ОїПЃ ОЇО± (historia) which history originates mean
inquiry, knowledge so obtained, information, an account of one s inquiry, narrative and from Latin

Trinitarian Baptismal Formula
Baptism is introduced in the Gospels when John the Baptist begins his ministry as the forerunner
of Jesus Christ. John s baptism was a baptism of repentance for Jews; he preached a simple
message to the Jews that they were to repent of their sins in preparation for Kingdom of God and
the coming of the Messiah. In Matthew 3:13 17, Jesuscomes down to the Jordan River to be
baptized by John. After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the
heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of Goddescending as a dove and lighting on Him, and
behold, a voice out of the heavens said, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
At the end of his earthly ministry, Jesus gave the command to his disciples to Go, ... Show more

The Triune character and language raises a number of important questions. In what ways do the
baptized relate to the mystery of the Triune God? Does it mean that they somehow appropriate the
activities and energies of the Trinity? Do they bear the Triune name like a calling card or as a
symbol of allegiance? What does it mean to be baptized into one the name which is multiple? How
does this shape an understanding of the Christian life in the context of the church and the wider
society? The rite implicitly poses these questions and other like them.
Any claim we might make about naming God in baptism needs to be tested against the biblical and
historical witness to the meaning, purpose and form of the baptismal rite. We turn now to a review
of New Testament, early Christian, and subsequent historical perspectives.
Scripture is the indispensable source for our knowledge of faith, yet we do not read it in a
fundamentalist way. We realize that the authors of the New Testament books wrote at least two
decades after Jesus death and resurrection. These writings thus give us direct access to the faith of
the first Christian generations, and indirect access to the historical Jesus himself, but this
recognition does not diminish their significance. The New Testament documents are both human
documents and God s revelatory word to us. We come to discern the will of Christ through

Humorous Wedding Speech by the Father of the Groom Essay
Humorous Wedding Speech by the Father of the Groom
Good evening. I would like to begin by welcoming each and every one of you to this joyous and
stressful occasion.
You know, while I was watching my son and future daughter in law suffer through the painful
process of planning their wedding, I asked myself, What would it be like if men were responsible
for organizing weddings?
I m guessing that my son might rename the Rehearsal Dinner to the Rehearsal Dinner Kegger . The
invitations would not read Gracious dinning from 7 to 10 but rather, Raucous Drinking from 7 until
the cops show up.
Bridesmaids would wear matching blue jean cut offs and halter tops with more skin showing than
not.
Tuxes would have team logos ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wedding vows would mention cooking and sex specifically, but omit that forsaking all others part.
The couple would leave the ceremony in a souped up 73 Charger or some other Mopar with racing
tires and flame designs on the side of the car. Better yet, a Harley!
Idiots who tried to dance with the bride (unless they were really old) would get punched in the head.
There would be Tailgate Receptions .
Outdoor weddings would be held during sporting events at half time or between innings.
Ceremonies would be short and honeymoons would be long.
Ceremonies and honeymoons would be inexpensive compared to the cost of the bachelor party.
The cost of strippers and liquor really do add up.
I m certain my son wouldn t ask, Well, what do you think, dear? The burgundy or the wine colored
napkins? They d just grab extras from the local pub, tavern or donut store.
Favors would be matchbooks and cigars. Better yet, free drink passes at the local bar (pub).
Instead of a sit down dinner or a buffet, there would be a hog roast or buckets of chicken, pizza and
plenty of b b q.
No one would bother with that Veil Routine . But they would insist that the garter be as high up on
her leg as it could go.
The bridal bouquet would be recycled from a previous funeral/wedding (what s the difference).
On a more serious note, I find great pleasure in formerly welcoming Maria into the family. I say
formally , because

Essay on Euthanasia in the United States
Euthanasia in the United States
The frail woman lay on her bed, chatting quietly with her grandchild. They had spent the day
talking about unicorns, Cinderella, and the olden days. As they conversed, the woman s daughter
looked on. She nodded to the doctor, and by the end of the evening the joyful spirit of old woman
was gone. Euthanasia is a practice that has become more common than realized in the United States.
Various states in the Union have tried to legalize euthanasia within the past few years. Those states
include Colorado, Florida, Maine, Michigan, New York, Washington, California and Oregon

Carolina, Utah and Wyoming do not necessarily ban physician assisted suicide. Euthanasia is

A Right to Life lawyer named Annette Patterson said: It s becoming the abortion issue of the
next century and just as nasty. Yet it is even more important because how we die concerns
everyone (Johnson 31). There is a strong element of truth in this statement. Even though a
miniscule percentage of people would ever request assistance in dying, to legalize controlled
euthanasia would create a wide doorway for open and uncontrolled physician assisted suicide
(Meier 37). Oregon s Death with Dignity law, effective since November 4, 1997, did exactly that
(Oregon 41). God wants the sanctity of life to be upheld at every cost, no matter the
circumstances surrounding the issue. In our modern world, people only think of themselves and
their own selfish desires, not necessarily for the good of another s life. To love someone is to
help that person improve the condition of life, not destroy it because it was a personal choice. In
Matthew 24:12, it states that And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold
(Matthew). America has become as selfish nation that harbors sin, and is therefore looking for a
way to eliminate those who need her help the most. The Death with Dignity law is based off
Netherlands laws on euthanasia enforcement and regulations (Oregon 52). It is now the basis for
many stateside proposals, such as California s, on euthanasia (Johnson 33). It has several
requirements, such as a waiting time

the core is the same. Myth relies on the rationale that all things are continuous with each other. No
matter which definition is used, the Bibleis not a myth.
Chapter 3: Continuity: The Basis of Mythical Thinking
As Oswalt revealed in the other chapters the worldview is continuity, myth s distinct character, and
it is pantheistic in nature. This means, there is no fundamental distinction between the three realms:
humanity, nature, and the divine. 5 Oswalt verbalizes in this chapter, those who believe this
concept, the visible world is a reflection of the invisible (divine) world. What happens to one in the
divine, happens to them in the world, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Martin Luther Characterize Paul s Letter To Believers In Rome
Martin Luther (1483 1546), Paul and his thought are at the very heart of the Christian theological
enterprise. Thus, Luther wrote that Paul s letter to believers in Rome is in truth the most important
document in the New Testament, the gospel in its purest expression. . . . It is the soul s daily
bread, and can never be read too often, or studied too much. . . . It is a brilliant light, almost
enough to illumine the whole Bible. This is how I feel when I read about Paul and his writings.
Paul has traditionally been portrayed as having converted from Judaism to Christianity, and thus as
both the original apostate and a threat to the Jewish people and to Judaism (Jant, 551). Paul s
conversion was not the conversion of a terrible sinner from

David Foster Wallace, Jessica Mittford s Essay
Being considerate toward everybody and everything is the ideal goal that everybody hopes to
achieve. Though the idea of being considerate is different depending on the person so reaching
that point in the world is impossible to achieve since there is no baseline for that, we have many
competing ideas as to what that could be. Some people see being considerate as being thoughtful
of other people but others will see it as a deeper meaning with being courteous toward all living
things on Earth and their belongings. There are so many different ways to be considerate and the
readings of David Foster Wallace, Jessica Mittford, and Caitlin Doughty all have underlying
messages of how people need to be more aware of what they are doing. Each piece... Show more

This is after he just gets done about talking about his own thoughts on the lobsters and how it is
alright if people keep eating it. Now if he is fine with people eating lobsters and wants to keep
eating animals on his own time why does he spend time writing this entire essay? This essay is
filled with so many sensory details that the reader can feel such as the noise of the scuttling against
the boiling pot with the lobster in it. He does this on purpose to bring to light something you may
not think about or brush off as nothing is actually going against your morals. Wallace poses an
interesting question in the conclusion of his essay by saying, Do you think much about the
(possible) moral status and (probable) suffering of the animals involved? If you do, what ethical
convictions have you worked out that permit you not just to eat but to savor and enjoy flesh
based viands (510). This is his whole purpose of writing this essay since this question alone
brings you back through his entire essay and all the insignificant details he talked about and
made you realize how significant they are in the amount of harm you may be bringing to the
animal. This whole idea of awareness and making sure your actions line up with your morales is
echoed in the writings of Jessica Mittford in her story The American Way of Death Revisited.

Global Finite Element Matrix Construction Based on a...
Introduction
Many physical phenomena in stationary condition such as electrical and magnetic potential, heat
conduction, fluid flow and elastic problems in static condition can be described by elliptic partial
differential equations (EPDE). The EPDE does not involve a time variable, and so describes the
steady state of problems. A linear EPDE has the general form as presented in Eq. (1), where a,b,c
are coefficient functions, the term f is a source (excitation) function and u is the unknown variable.
All of this function can vary spatially (x,y,z).
∇(c∙∇u)+b∙∇u+au=f(1)
EPDE can be solved exactly by mathematical procedures like Fourier series [1]. However, the
classical solution frequently no exists and for those problems where is possible the use of these
analytical methods, many simplifications are done [2]. Consequently, several numerical methods
have been developed to efficiently solve EPDE such as the finite element method (FEM), finite
difference and others.
The FEM have several advantages over other methods. The main advantage is that it is particularly
effective for problems with complicated geometry using unstructured meshes [2]. One way to get a
suitable framework for solving EPDEs by using FEM is formulate them as variational problems
also called weak solution.
The variacional formulation of an EPDE is a mathematical treating for converting the strong
formulation to a weak formulation, which permits the approximation in elements or subdomains,
and the EPDE

Women During World War II
During World War II, the roles of women have forever been changed. Young men and women
decided to marry just before their sweethearts went overseas to fight for their country. As the men
fought abroad, we began to see women on the Home Front encouraged to be more independent
and finding jobs of their own. These females in the United States stepped up to the plate and began
working jobs that many men had before. Women stepped up and began working in factories,
participating in organizations in regards to the war, all while still running things smoothly at home.
While the men were away for battle, women became proficient cooks and housekeepers, managed
the finances, learned to fix the car, worked in a defense plant, and wrote letters to their soldier
husbands.
Women became dominant in the work force during World War II and we saw the roles of the
Hispanic culture specifically go through a huge transformation here in the United States.
Many Latino s were drafted into armed services, which triggered a major migration of Mexicans
into the U.S.
Mexican Americans suffered a high amount of racism and bigotry during World War II and it
reached a breaking point during the Zoot Suit Riots. The Zoot Suit Riots were a series of riots that
took place in East Los Angeles in 1943. Zoot Suiters or pacuchos were the target of U.S.

Media and the Antifeminist Agenda
The cinema conveys representations of race, gender, and class that indicate the development and
cultural ideologies of society. Motion pictures illustrate and are depicted from real life settings, and
it is for this reason that the cinema plays a vital role in shaping and sustaining cultural normalcies.
Socialization of gender and identity are mirrored through sexist media depictions that convey the
relative positions of women and men in modern western democracies. There are substantial
quantities of motion pictures that ascribe traditional gender roles to both men and women that
continue to perpetuate social constructs of inequality. Contemporary media places men and women

On a lighter note, Disney s animated feature Tangled (a take on Grimm s fairytale Rapunzel) is
funny and visually stunning; however, it rekindles the same plot and recurring theme across all
genres. As a woman, you can be one of two things, either a princess awaiting rescue from her
prince or an evil stepmother (witch). On the contrary, as a man, you get all the action, and in
many aspects, the world is handed to you. Rapunzel, imprisoned within the tower since a child,
is a meek like female with green eyes, blonde hair, and a teeny waist who sings about doing
chores and wonders when her life will begin. Rapunzel is stereotypically overly emotional,
swinging from one end of a mood swing to another, overly preoccupied with being saved, and of
course, is beautiful. Beauty, with respect to this context, equals white, blonde, thin and young. In a
modern day perspective, this is problematic because her body represents the celebration of White
femininity and disregards other ethnicities. Not only does this movie portray females from a
stereotypical frame work, but it induces a false perception of beauty, one that we must all attain or
strive for.
Carrying on Disney s tradition of problematic representations of race, of the 15 Disney princess s
movie franchise ever produced, only four have been non white

Essay Outline The Evidence For Natural Selection
Outline the evidence for natural selection
Comparative Anatomy
Different organisms that have similar basic structures, but can be used for different purposes are
evidence for a common ancestor. These are called homologous structures. An example is the
pentadactyl limb, which is the basic structure found in amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.
The basic structure is formed of:
One bone in the upper limb
Two bones in the lower limb
Five fingers of toes In bats, the limb is a wing, and does contain the finger structure, which are
extended across the wings and skin stretched over. Within a whales fin, they possess a fully formed
pentadactyl limb.

As well as this, certain blood proteins are found in a number of species. When genetic code (DNA
and RNA) is used by a cell, it builds amino acids in a sequence, which forms protein. Chemical tests
can determine whether one species has the similar blood proteins to another, thus showing evidence
of evolutionary relationships. Organisms with a common ancestor have a close number of amino
acid sequences in common. For example, chimpanzees and humans have no difference in their
amino acid protein count in their haemoglobin evidence for a common ancestor.
Palaeontology
Fossils provide a record of how organisms have evolved overtime, as they contain the remains of
life trapped in sediment, ice or amber and preserved for over millions of years. Transitional fossils,
which provide evidence for evolutionary change, have features that show the transition of
characteristics of organisms from ancestors to descendents. An example is Archaeopteryx, which
featured reptilian features, including teeth and skeleton, however, also had feathers and a wishbone
sternum (used to attach muscles for flying). The evidence of the fossil shows the evolutionary

A. Basic Concepts 1. Observational LearningThe Social Learning Theory says that people canlearn
by watching other people perform the behavior. Observational learningexplains the nature of
children to learn behaviors by watching the behaviorof the people around them, and eventually,
imitating them. With the ―Bobo Doll‖ experiment(s) , Bandura included an adult who is
tasked to actaggressively toward a Bobo Doll while the children observe him. Later,Bandura let
the children play inside a room with the Bobo Doll. He affirmedthat these children imitated the
aggressive behavior toward the doll, whichthey had observed earlier. After his studies, Bandura was
able to determine 3 basic models of observational learning, which include: a. A Live Model, which
includes an actual person performing abehavior.b. A Verbal Instruction Model, which involves
telling of details anddescriptions of a behavior.c. A Symbolic Model, which includes either a real or
fictional characterdemonstrating the behavior via movies, books, television, radio, online media and
other media sources.2. The state of mind (mental states) is crucial to learning. In this
concept,Bandura stated that not only external reinforcement or factors can affectlearning and
behavior. There is also what he called intrinsic reinforcement, which is in a form of internal reward
or a better feeling after performing thebehavior (e.g. sense of

13th Century Russia History
Even though Russia wasn t founded until 25 December 1991, its history traces back to the 9th
century. During this period, the first signs of the country s infrastructure began. Creation of trade
routes enabled empires being supplied, while leading to the country s growth. When the 10th
century hit, we got the first mention of Moscow. At the time, Moscow was a small settlement that
would soon become the pre eminent city in Russia(A Brief History of Russia). By the 15th century,
Moscow became the capital of, which consequently became, Russia. Moreover, in the centuries that
would follow, Russia would battle through many wars, variety of leaders who wanted to take the
country in different directions, weak infrastructure, communism, and failures of economic growth.
Russia has become the world s largest country, expanding across 11 different time zones while
covering 17 million sq km.
Russian and Soviet military history extends from the time of the Mongol invasions (13th century)

Mutual Mistakes In Business Law Essay
Mutual Mistakes in Contract Law
This situation raises some questions for me. Did the manufacturer notify the dealers of the fact
that they were making these changes to the cars? Where the dealers told that the manufacturer

engines with a 3.5 liter engine. If the dealer had was informed of the changes, why didn t the
salesperson know this information. Or did the salesperson know and just forgot to tell the customer.
Was the information in any of the paperwork for the car?
Yes both parties in this sales contract should be able to resend the contract due to mutual mistake of
facts. Mistake of facts is when both parties enter into an agreement under a mistake as to a matter of
fact essential to the agreement, almost to the point where it s a completely different agreement,
making the agreement voidable. A mutual mistake occurs when the parties to a contract are both

Maybe they could come to an agreement on a different price for the car that offers a better
engine but also worse fuel economy for Josh. It may be necessary to make a deal for an entirely
different car all together, that way all the facts will be known upfront and Josh can get the fuel

One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest Character Analysis
Analyse how the actions of a character influenced events or situations in the written text you have
studied.
One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest By Ken Kesey is a text based around a psychiatric ward
somewhere located in the heart of Oregon. The novel takes place sometime between the 1950s
1960s. We know this as memories of World War II are prominent and sexism along with racism is
still a recurring problem.
The actions of a character by the name of Randle McMurphy influenced a series of events
throughout the novel. Right from the beginning when he managed to scheme his way out of
prison time, till the very end of the novel when he influenced Chief Bromden to go on a great
escape. Some of McMurphy s actions had positive influences some negative, no matter how vast or
how small each action was it would have a lasting impact on the majority of the ward. I think two
significant actions in the text that influenced an event in some shape or form was first off
McMurphy s organisation and persistence of the boat trip. And secondly McMurphy forcefully
undressing Nurse Mildred Ratched then proceeding to strangle her.
During McMurphy s stay at the psychiatric ward it was mundane and lifeless. So McMurphy
decided to take this matter into his own hands, starting a petition which would allow the men on the
ward to take part in a boating expedition. For the men to actually go on this trip Nurse Ratched
required that at least sixteen of the thirty men on the ward had to sign the

Errors And Expectations Summary
The next chapter of the book Errors Expectations by Mina Shaughnessy discusses spelling.
Shaughnessy asserts that there are many reasons why a basic writing student will misspell
words. These reasons include being unfamiliar with the structure of words, mis pronunciation,
not being familiar with homophones, failing to remember or see words, and not having a firm
grasp on spelling rules. Shaughnessy spends the majority of the chapter giving suggestions on
how to help students improve their spelling. She lines out several key ways in which this can be
done. First of all, a teacher must believe that her student can become a good speller. If she thinks
that spelling cannot be taught and simply notes errors in the margin of her student s paper, her
student will get the idea that he is a lost cause and will give up on trying to improve his spelling.
However, if a teacher is optimistic and gives her student tools and strategies for becoming a better
speller, the student will begin to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The teacher must first help him to discover his spelling problems by teaching him to analyze his
errors, and then focus on specific rules or exercises that will help him to tackle the root of his
errors. Over time, he will learn to recognize and correct his errors and will become a much better
speller. Shaughnessy s viewpoints coincide with those of Constance Weaver in her book Grammar
to Enrich and Enhance Writing. In Chapter 9 of her book, Weaver discusses how to teach English
Language Learners to edit their errors, a very similar subject to Shaughnessy s chapter on spelling.
Like Shaughnessy, Weaver takes the constructivist approach and believes you must first discover
why the student makes specific errors. You can then assist them by providing active learning
strategies needed to target their areas of struggle. Over time, they will then begin to recognize and

Invisible Man Women
The unnamed narrator in the novel, Invisible Man, by Ralph Ellison is subjected to an impossible
situation shortly after the beginning of the novel when he is forced to watch a white woman
perform a sexual dance all for the entertainment of the town s wealthiest of white men. The female
characters are portrayed not as individuals but rather as symbols and as a collective representative
of the female gender and women s situation at the time. The aim of this essay is to show that the
inequality and invisibility forced on the Invisible Manis not exclusively reserved to him; it is also

The dancer is the first white female the Invisible Man encounters. Although it was known that
white females were considered to be of a higher status than black women at the time, they were
looked upon as possessions and as second class citizens. At this point in the novel, the boys are
shoved to the center of the circle, surrounded by the men. The fear that the boys and the narrator
feel is obvious in his descriptions, as is the uncertainty of their situation. When they see the
naked white woman they are in an unfeasible disagreement, as he says, Then I became aware of
the clarinet playing and the big shots yelling at us. Some threatened us if we looked and others
if we did not, (Ellison, 16). The vivid image of these powerful men threatening the boys is all too
real. Through his writing, we can sense his conflict as he describes the way the dancer looks,
and we can also tell he is attracted to her by the way he describes the curves of her body. Yet we
can also see that the dancer herself is in as much uncertainty as the boys; the narrator tells us
how the woman is chased and harrassed by the men, who grabbed her and toss her into the air,
and that through her facade he can see, ...above her, fixed smiling lips i saw the terror and disgust
in her eyes, almost like my own terror and that which I saw in some of the other boys, (Ellison, 17).

Separate But Equal Essay
Was Separate but Equal really equal? In many states colored people were not treated equal,
many were discriminated against and many children were not treated fairly. Their schools and
learning conditions were terrible, many of there schools didn t even have running water.
Houston, Charles H. states in his article that many African Americans were referred to as second
class citizens. Many colored people were separated from whites by the laws put in place; such as
separate but equal and many others. There were many groups that stood up against these laws
such as the NAACP which held many protests. These groups also stood up against many laws
such as separate but equal . The Passing of separate but equal laws was unfair to blacks it s
discrimination lead to the Brown v. Board of Educationcase that had a positive result because public
schools were desegregated.
Separate but Equal laws were created to separate colored people from white people. Despite
many disagreements they still made segregation legal the courts challenged earlier civil rights

Trickery In The Odyssey
Odysseus, the King of Ithaca is trying to come home, after helping the Greeks win the Trojan
War, by making the plan of the Trojan horse. Odysseus and his men struggle through their 10 year
journey home and only with Odysseus trickery, bravery, and god honoring ways, he is able to
make it back alive. Odysseuson his journey back home goes through some human flawed situations,
but has many heroic moments. Odysseus overcomes these human flaws, making him become an
Epic Hero. Odysseus embodies the Greek value of trickery, when in the battle of Troy and on his
journey back home. Odysseus is in the Trojan War, comes up with the idea to penetrate the wall of
Troy, Odysseus does this by building the hollow Trojan Horse, (with Geeks inside) as a
surrender gift to the Trojan (Homer, Iliad). This plan Odysseus organized was trickery because
the Trojans brought the Greek s Trojan horse into Troy, with Greeks hiding inside the horse, the
Greeks were able to get out of the horse at night and opened the gates, in to Troy. With Odysseus
trickery the Greeks are able to defeat the Trojans and win the Trojan War and bring back Hellen.

Les Demoiselles D Avignon
Les Demoiselles d Avignon Les Demoiselles d Avignon (The Young Ladies of Avignon, and
originally titled The Brothel of Avignon) is a large oil painting of 1907 by the Spanish artist
Pablo Ruiz Picasso (1881 1973). The work portrays five nude female prostitutes from a brothel on
AvinyГі Street in Barcelona. Each figure is depicted in a disconcerting confrontational manner and
none are conventionally feminine. The women appear as slightly menacing and rendered with
angular and disjointed body shapes. Two are shown with African mask like faces and three more
with faces in the Iberian style of Picasso s native Spain, giving them a savage aura. In this
adaptation of Primitivism and abandonment of perspective in favor of a flat, two dimensional...

While he already had a considerable following by the middle of 1906, Picasso enjoyed further
success with his paintings of massive over sized nude women, monumental sculptural figures
that recalled the work of Paul Gauguin and showed his interest in primitive (African,
Micronesian, Native American) art. He began exhibiting his work in the galleries of Berthe
Weill (1865 1951) and Ambroise Vollard, (1866 1939) quickly gaining a growing reputation and
a following amongst the artistic community of Montparnasse. Picasso became a favorite of the
American art collectors Leo Stein (1872 1947), and his sister Gertrude Stein (1876 1946),
around 1905. The Steins older brother Michael and his wife Sarah also became collectors of his
work. Picasso painted portraits of both Gertrude Stein and her nephew Allan Stein.] Gertrude
Stein began acquiring Picasso s drawings and paintings and exhibiting them in her informal
Salon at her home in Paris. At one of her gatherings in 1905 he met Henri Matisse (1869 1954),
who was to become in those days his chief rival, although in later years a close friend. The Steins

Understanding And Exploring Assumptions Of Assumptions
Understanding and Exploring Assumptions Assumptions are important, but not in the way; many
would think. The term assumption sometimes is associated with the word guess, but that s not the
meaning as it concerned statistics to ensure that your data. In the area of statistics , the word
assumption signifies completeness of the data collected (Triola, 2008) . The assumption aids the
researcher in verifying the data because if the data does not meet the requirement, the researcher
must, then treat the data in a different way to ensure the best interpolation of the data. Assumption
is required in completing statically analyses: histograms, levenes test for homogeneity of
variance, normality, normal pp plots as well in the use of chi square (Field, 2013; Hayes Cai,
2007; Triola, 2008)witch use the assumption of random sampling. In the use of ANOVA method,
the assumption of normality is the basis for the technique. Assumptions aid in identifying
deviation of data as it concern normality. Perhaps one way to identify or investigate deviation is
to simply view a histogram from within a package such as SPSS, Minitab, SAS and Statdisk.
Assumptions matter for a number of reasons, according to (Field, 2013; Hayes Cai, 2007) there are
perhaps three components of importance when talking about assumptions, e.g., Parameter estates,
confidence intervals, and significance tests. Download Festival Histograms and p p plots Figure 1

Analysis Of Adaptation Of The Military
Adaptation in the military, especially during wartime, is a known need. The adage no plan survives
first contact was not created because it sounds cool. It is an ominous warning that at some point
while executing your plan, you will be faced with unanticipated and unplanned for situations to
which you will have to adapt. Adaptation is a skill that must be attained, yet is very difficult to
learn and even more difficult to achieve effectively. Every militaryorganization, regardless of
nationality, location, posture, etc., will be required to adapt and their ability to do so effectively
may very well decide their success.
Adaptation, by its very definition, requires something to change, to be altered or presented in
another form. In order to have change, you must have something to change from , a normalcy, a
standard or regular pattern, or as the military calls it, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP s).
Tactically speaking, the use of SOP s in the development of military organizations is what permits
these organizations to develop an effective fighting force. The more knowledgeable and proficient
an organization is of executing their SOP s, the more tactically proficient they become. Through
constant and persistent training in a benign environment, each person of the organization learns and
understands their roles and responsibilities within the organization. Continued training leads to
continued improvement and ultimately to mastery of their

The Theories And Beliefs Of The Enlightenment Era
The study of philosophy has existed since the beginning of time because of human curiosity. It
fueled the minds of countless philosophers, all in pursuit of understanding the world through the
five branches Epistemology, Metaphysics, Ethics, Politics, and Esthetics. Throughout the age s
different theories and beliefs of philosophers contributed to our current understanding of the world.
During the different eras philosophical beliefs influenced events and documents of the time. The
Enlightenment Era, often called the Age of Reason, brought about many astonishing works
deliberating the nature of human beings. As times progressed to the age of Enlightenmentthe
different ideas surfaced changing the way humans thought of themselves. Philosophers of the time
believed in the essential goodness of human nature, this was based on the scientific and
technological achievements. However, Rousseau claimed the development of civilization corrupted
the natural goodness of humans. The beliefs during the age of Enlightenment were presented that
we are creatures with the ability to reason and human nature is essentially good, contributing many
ideas. Each Philosopher of the Enlightenment Period with very different works; Diderot, Rousseau,

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF JOURNALISM IN DEMOCRACY AND WHAT IS THE MOST
POWERFUL CURRENT THREAT TO THAT ROLE?
Journalism and democracy are arguably inextricably intertwined concepts, each having a vital role
in the effective function of the other. Democracy as a term and an inherent notion finds it origins
from Ancient Greece with the term being derived from the Ancient Greek words demos people and
kratia power (The Daily Miracle: An Intriduction to JOuranlism p. 45). Traditionally, journalism
has been considered to play an integral role as somewhat of a gatekeeper of democracy by

Accordingly, arguably the most powerful threat to Four Corners role in promoting and upholding
democracy in Australia is the Executive s constant threats to cut network funding. This can be
explored through looking through the lense of the libertarian and social responsibility arms of the
theory of the press developed by Fred Siebert, Theodore Peterson and Wilbur Schramm (whatever
the book is (1956)) and the propaganda model developed by Herman and Chomsky (Manufacturing
Consent, 1988).
Cutting funding threatens the ABC s and thus Four Corners ability to uphold the values of

This is on the basis that the loss of 400 jobs and funding to the ABC (http://about.abc.net.au/our

libertarian model is one of the four facets of the theory of the press developed by Fred Siebert,

where project managers have fully and directly authority on managing project. Here, project

Forshadowing And Foreshadowing In Crash By Paul Haggis

significance to the audience. Foreshadowing of inevitable tragedy and sorrow is first seen during
one of the initial scenes, which interrupts the process of Persian man (Fahad) and his daughter
(Dorri) buying a firearm. Firearms are a symbol of violence and the purchase of the weapon,

Pepsi Of Coca Cola Company Essay
A great question arose in the 80 s as a constant innovation and aggressive behavior arose towards
brand building. Pepsi, a brand that suffered two bankruptcies, pushed forwards towards their
growth as the company by expanding their portfolio as a Food and Beverage Company. As it
became a food and beverage company, Pepsi was able to become the Coca Cola s main
competitor. Each company constantly competed and tried to outdo each other with their
campaigns. While both brands competed with each other, Pepsi began to target Coca Cola s
commercials causing Coca Cola to respond with the same aggressive behavior creating the
beginning of the Cola Wars. The Cola Wars brought forth a great question that made one wonder
if either Coke was better than Pepsi or if Pepsi was better than Coke? Based off the Cola Wars, the
best soft drinkproducer is the Coca Cola Company.
The Coca Cola Company contains more value than Pepsi. According to an article in Coca
Cola.com, Coca Cola has retained the No. 3 spot on Interbrand s annual Best Global Brands
ranking for the fourth consecutive year, with an estimated value of $73.1 billion, proving that
the brand coke falls under the list of the most valuable brands which is worth up to $73.1 billion
dollars unlike, Pepsi that is only worth 19.4 billion dollars. The Coca Cola Company does not
only own the coca cola brand, but has also recently purchased many other brands in order to

  • 4. Immigration Reform In The US The federal government has failed to enact immigration reform and invest in infrastructure to restore the U.S. economy. More illegal immigrants are residing in the U.S., unlawfully crossing the border, and overstaying visas each year. The goal of American politics is equal treatment under the law. All persons that stand before the law are treated the same regardless of their race, religion, skin color, national origin, and even sexual identity. I think that the U.S. is ready for immigrationreform because it s become a matter of basic civil rights for the millions of people who are living in the U.S. illegally. Immigration laws encourage racial profiling by law enforcement. The problem for immigration is that the institutional design of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Over the years, lawmakers didn t make big investments into infrastructure in the U.S. because they didn t know how to fund infrastructure without raising taxes or adding to the national deficit. So, the root cause of a problem like neglected infrastructure in the U.S. stems from American political processes. Political processes are basically how something gets done. In 2009, fiscally conservative Republicans turned down a $478 billion investment plan for infrastructure (Berman, 2015). But, I don t think that lawmakers can keep putting off on investments in public safety because the U.S. is losing economic competitiveness, jobs, and growth. One of Trump s biggest campaign promises was revitalizing U.S. roads, bridges, and airports. Trump says that his $550 billion infrastructure plan will grow the U.S. economy and create more jobs (Great Again, 2015). Trump s also planning on private sector investors funding this project with tax credits to give investors a return on their investments. I think it s about time for a more reliable and efficient transportation system. For example, in 2007, the I 35W bridge in Minneapolis collapsed during rush hour, killing 13 people and injuring 145 people (Change, 2007). Faulty design led to the bridge collapse. One more example is an Amtrak train that derailed in Philadelphia in 2015, killing 8 people and injuring 200 people (Calvert Loftus, 2015). The train accelerated toward a curve but investigators didn t know if the engineer caused the train to speed up, if there was a mechanical error, or if there was something about the track that cased the crash. Airports in the U.S. are also operating beyond the capacity that they were intended to manage and that s why terminals are crowded and there s longer waiting times to get through customs especially at international airports. One time, Joe Bidden even compared LaGuardia Airport in New York to some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Comparison Of Depression In The Big Sur By Jack Kerouac Depression affects 350 million people and is the leading cause of disability worldwide. Everyone deals with depression a different way but it is not easy, the best way is to see a professional and talk about it to try to let it all out, but most people come up with their own way. Depressed modern poets such as Jack Kerouacand Sylvia Plath tried to shock themselves into reality and heal their depression and feelings about certain subjects with alcohol and electroconvulsive therapy but could not. They both decided to chose the outlet of poetry and release their negative feelings by writing about similar themes. This becomes evident when one draws similarities between themes such as isolation, nature and loveproven by examining The Big Sur by Jack Kerouac and many poetic works from Sylvia Plath. Being a popular poet can do alot to one, and if ones fans only care about their work and not their true feelings the artist tends to feel isolated. When one is depressed he/she tends to isolate themselves. Kerouac and Plath both do this when they are writing. In many of Plath s poems she writes about her loneliness, and in some she even tells God. Plath is so depressed that she associate s life with loneliness, which proves that Plath feels she is isolated God, but life is loneliness (Under the Night Starry Sky, Plath). Plath feels empty, she feels useless, she is tired and just wants to relax, this proves that Plath is giving up and she is so upset with her life that she does ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Efficacy of the Modifying Phonation Intervals (MPI) Stuttering Treatment Program With Adults Who Stutter. American Journal of Speech Language Pathology, 24(2), 256 271. A phonated interval (PI) is the duration of a signal in a voiced unit in speech production. The use of prolonged speech, or increased PIs, in the treatment of stuttering has been determined to be effective. In the long term, however, the client who receives this treatment may relapse into their dysfluencies. What this study sought to do was compare the use of this standard form of treatment with a new adult stuttering treatment program, known as Modifying Phonation Intervals (MPI). According ... • 7. On Dumpster Diving Rhetorical Analysis Lars Eighner represents the thousands of homeless people that have simply fallen victim of financial struggles, holding strongly onto his respect for others, his community, and himself, despite the difficulties he faces. According to Eighner s website, he spent time at the University of Austin, Texas studying creative writing, which is clear through his writing techniques and narrative style. However after falling on hard times, Eighner ended up homeless. While homeless in the late 80 s Eighner composed the essay On Dumpster Diving. It need not take long for one to find his purpose in writing the essay. Dumpster diving and homelessnessare deeply connected to a notion of poor life choices, mental illness, and substance abuse. And while Eighner doesn t deny that many people he encounters are winos, Eighner s purpose is to represent dumpster diving, in sense, as an art; reclaiming homelessness as a modern form of self reliance. ... • 8. Essay about The Physics of Car Collisions Basic Concepts Issac Newton was the first to state the concepts that are necessary to understanding the physics of collisions. His three laws are used again and again in all the fields of physics: Newton s 1st Law In the absence of external forces, an object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion with a constant velocity. This law can be best observed in space, far from the gravity of a star or planet, where there is no friction or air resistance. If, in the middle of deep space, you give a rock a little push, it will continue with the direction and velocity you gave it forever. The only way to stop it is to apply a force in the opposite direction. This law is not intuitive because we are surrounded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Every single action has an equal and opposite reaction. If you were standing in the middle of a perfectly slick frozen lake, and needed to get off, you could throw an object away from you. When you applied force to the object you threw, it also applied an equal force pushing you back. You would travel in the opposite direction from the throw, although slower, because you probably have mass more than the object you threw. Static and Kinetic Friction Friction is a key concept when you are attempting to understand car accidents. The force of friction is a force that resists motion when two objects are in contact. If you look at the surfaces of all objects, there are tiny bumps and ridges. Those microscopic peaks and valleys catch on one another when two objects are moving past each other. This explanation is a little simplified. There are other processes at work, including chemical bonding and electrical interactions. The level of friction that different materials exhibit is measured by the coefficient of friction. The formula is Вµ = f / N, where Вµ is the coefficient of friction, f is the amount of force that resists motion, and N is the normal force. Normal force is the force at which one surface is being pushed into another. If a rock that weighs 50 newtons is lying on the ground, then the normal force is that 50 newtons of force. The higher Вµ is, the more force resists motion if two objects are sliding past each other. There are

The chemical makeup of certain acids and bases that are not managed reacted properly can be harmful and a result of improperly measured acids and bases. This could have a negative effect on humans pertaining to different liquids that could be consumed or physically hazardous to the body. However, due to decades of research in the department of science, it can be confirmed that ideas like the HSAB Principle and the Lewis Principle help categorize acids and bases between being harmful or not and secondarily help humans be more cautious, according to professor Tse Lok Ho.1 However, experimental these measurements can be specified and determined through titrations. According to Jakub Ederer and other researchers, titrations have quick and determinable results and do not require a lot of money and are commonly used for acids.2 The Lab Manual provides an experiment that includes a titration to determine the moles of acetic acid (HC2H3O2) in a specific amount of vinegar.3 To follow through with this experiment, the acid basereaction has a known molar concentration of NaOH solution that reacts with an unknown molar concentration of acetic acid to make water and NaC2H3O2, resulting in a titration. Before the initial trial titration, a thorough cleaning procedure of the buret and materials was necessary to ensure there is no contamination of other chemicals or solutions. Introduction Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a coherent set of descriptions, covering a regulations oriented, design oriented and patterns oriented perspective on an enterprise, which provides indicators and controls that enable the informed governance of the enterprise s evolution and succesd1. In simple terms, an EA is a conceptual blueprint that defines the structure of an organization in terms of its operation and interaction among various units within it. As organizations become larger, operations management become bigger and more cumbersome, hence the need for an enterprise architecture framework that can describe the underlying infrastructure, providing the groundwork for the hardware, software, networks and people to work2. There are a number of enterprise architecture framework in use today with many of them having similar views and approaches in an attempt to address various needs and concerns of an organization. Zachman framework for enterprise architecture is one of the major EA framework in use today and is considered to be one of the pioneers in the ES domain. Zachman EA framework adopts principles of classical architecture that establish a common vocabulary and set of perspectives for describing complex enterprise systems2. The Zachman Framework is made up of six perspectives or views, which are Planner, Owner, Designer, Builder, Subcontractor, and User. Two of the most prominent eras in Greek sculpture are the Classical and Hellenistic periods. The Classical period took place from 500 323 BC. It is the period between Persian wars and ends with the death of Alexander the Great (History). Classical sculpturesare known for being less detailed more stagnant. His left arm, holds a small child, Dionysus, who reaches towards something that Hermes may have been holding. Dionysus is the god of wine and fertility. The tree trunk alludes to symbolism of Dionysus as he is also the god of things that grow by leaps and bounds suddenly in spring (Csapo 258). Skopos theory is the most important part of the German Functionalist School. It was first advanced by Hans J.Vermeer and improved by Justa Holzв€’Manttari and Christiane Nord later. The word skopos comes from Greek, meaning purpose, motive and function . The point of this theory is the principle of purpose, defined by those German Functionalist translators as every activities of translation is decided by the purpose of translation, which in one word means method depends on purpose (Reiss and Vermeer 1984: 101; Nord 2001: 29). Generally speaking, the skopos theory believes that the result decides the method. So this theory solves the contradiction between some of the traditional western translation theory, such as equivalent value , equivalent effect and functional equivalence . It discards the traditional western translation standard, believing that the quality of a translation is not judged by its equivalent value or equivalent effect with the original version but the adequacy with the purpose of translation. WW1 was a war fought in Europe between Germany, Russia, France, Great Britain, the U.S. and other countries. But the main cause of WW1 is unknown. The question remains, what is the real reason for WW1. A few reasons that could be responsible for one of the greatest wars the world has ever seen are militarism, alliances, and imperialism. Militarism was one cause for the start of WW1. Germany spent millions of dollars to strengthen their military to get it ready for war. Many countries then felt threatened, and this caused them to also put millions into their militaries as well. With having the largest military, Germany was more than ready to to use their army. Germany was so confident that they could win the war with their new army that as soon as war was declared, they didn t hesitate to be the hammer. But this would be a problem because of the other nations rushing to industrialize their armies. Militarism was a huge factor in the cause of WW1.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Matthew 3:13 17, Jesuscomes down to the Jordan River to be baptized by John. After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of Goddescending as a dove and lighting on Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Does it mean that they somehow appropriate the activities and energies of the Trinity? Do they bear the Triune name like a calling card or as a symbol of allegiance? What does it mean to be baptized into one the name which is multiple? How does this shape an understanding of the Christian life in the context of the church and the wider society? The rite implicitly poses these questions and other like them. Any claim we might make about naming God in baptism needs to be tested against the biblical and historical witness to the meaning, purpose and form of the baptismal rite. Scripture is the indispensable source for our knowledge of faith, yet we do not read it in a fundamentalist way. We realize that the authors of the New Testament books wrote at least two decades after Jesus death and resurrection. These writings thus give us direct access to the faith of the first Christian generations, and indirect access to the historical Jesus himself, but this recognition does not diminish their significance. Oregon s Death with Dignity law, effective since November 4, 1997, did exactly that (Oregon 41). God wants the sanctity of life to be upheld at every cost, no matter the circumstances surrounding the issue. Introduction Many physical phenomena in stationary condition such as electrical and magnetic potential, heat conduction, fluid flow and elastic problems in static condition can be described by elliptic partial differential equations (EPDE). The EPDE does not involve a time variable, and so describes the steady state of problems. A linear EPDE has the general form as presented in Eq. (1), where a,b,c are coefficient functions, the term f is a source (excitation) function and u is the unknown variable. All of this function can vary spatially (x,y,z). ∇(c∙∇u)+b∙∇u+au=f(1) EPDE can be solved exactly by mathematical procedures like Fourier series [1]. However, the classical solution frequently no exists and for those problems where is possible the use of these analytical methods, many simplifications are done [2]. Consequently, several numerical methods have been developed to efficiently solve EPDE such as the finite element method (FEM), finite difference and others. The FEM have several advantages over other methods. The main advantage is that it is particularly effective for problems with complicated geometry using unstructured meshes [2]. One way to get a suitable framework for solving EPDEs by using FEM is formulate them as variational problems also called weak solution. The variacional formulation of an EPDE is a mathematical treating for converting the strong formulation to a weak formulation, which permits the approximation in elements or subdomains, and the EPDE ... • 37. One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest Character Analysis Analyse how the actions of a character influenced events or situations in the written text you have studied. One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest By Ken Kesey is a text based around a psychiatric ward somewhere located in the heart of Oregon. The novel takes place sometime between the 1950s 1960s. We know this as memories of World War II are prominent and sexism along with racism is still a recurring problem. The actions of a character by the name of Randle McMurphy influenced a series of events throughout the novel. Right from the beginning when he managed to scheme his way out of prison time, till the very end of the novel when he influenced Chief Bromden to go on a great escape. Some of McMurphy s actions had positive influences some negative, no matter how vast or how small each action was it would have a lasting impact on the majority of the ward. I think two significant actions in the text that influenced an event in some shape or form was first off McMurphy s organisation and persistence of the boat trip. And secondly McMurphy forcefully undressing Nurse Mildred Ratched then proceeding to strangle her. During McMurphy s stay at the psychiatric ward it was mundane and lifeless. So McMurphy decided to take this matter into his own hands, starting a petition which would allow the men on the ward to take part in a boating expedition. For the men to actually go on this trip Nurse Ratched required that at least sixteen of the thirty men on the ward had to sign the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Shaughnessy asserts that there are many reasons why a basic writing student will misspell words. These reasons include being unfamiliar with the structure of words, mis pronunciation, not being familiar with homophones, failing to remember or see words, and not having a firm grasp on spelling rules. Shaughnessy spends the majority of the chapter giving suggestions on how to help students improve their spelling. She lines out several key ways in which this can be done. First of all, a teacher must believe that her student can become a good speller. If she thinks that spelling cannot be taught and simply notes errors in the margin of her student s paper, her student will get the idea that he is a lost cause and will give up on trying to improve his spelling. Shaughnessy s viewpoints coincide with those of Constance Weaver in her book Grammar to Enrich and Enhance Writing. In Chapter 9 of her book, Weaver discusses how to teach English Language Learners to edit their errors, a very similar subject to Shaughnessy s chapter on spelling. Like Shaughnessy, Weaver takes the constructivist approach and believes you must first discover why the student makes specific errors. The term assumption sometimes is associated with the word guess, but that s not the meaning as it concerned statistics to ensure that your data. In the area of statistics , the word assumption signifies completeness of the data collected (Triola, 2008) . The assumption aids the researcher in verifying the data because if the data does not meet the requirement, the researcher must, then treat the data in a different way to ensure the best interpolation of the data. Assumption is required in completing statically analyses: histograms, levenes test for homogeneity of variance, normality, normal pp plots as well in the use of chi square (Field, 2013; Hayes Cai, 2007; Triola, 2008)witch use the assumption of random sampling.
