The Juunishi are the twelve zodiac signs that indicate the
year, time and direction. A Chinese character is
designated to each zodiac sign. The twelve signs of
juunishi and the ten signs called jikkan are combined to
express years, months, dates, times and directions.
The combination of juunishi and jikkan complete a full
cycle and return to the original combination in 60 years.
