Political Socialization In America
In America, there is an immense amount of pressure to be opinionated about current issues and
politics. It is expected that when asked your opinion, you will have a clear side to take. This is
part of what makes politics so interesting; when varying sides and views clash in the political
arena. The process that shapes a person s political values and beliefs is called political
socialization. Political socialization is mainly formed through influences such as family,
involuntary and voluntary social groups, education, and the political environment. By examining
the process of political socialization and its influences on public opinion, we will see that more
often than not, a person s political opinions and worldview are highly shaped by factors... Show

When talking to someone that was private schooled, public schooled, or homeschooled, you will
notice a large difference in the views that these different types of educations can help to create. In
public school settings, children are sometimes taught that the government is a helping hand and
generally good, which can lead to them favoring more Democratic ideas and supporting government
programs later on in life. However, a homeschooler might lean more toward the conservative side,
especially if their parents (who are already influencing them) use their authority as a teacher to
communicate that the government cannot be trusted. Furthermore, people that go on to attend
college tend to be more active in the political scene and also tend to actively protest or support
things that they care about on a more public level. Lastly, political socialization can be formed
through political environment. Political environment is what current events are happening around
you that influence your opinion on certain matters. For example, the 9/11 terrorist attack forever
changed the way people saw government and its ability to protect them. Comparably, people began

Persuasive Essay On Boxer Briefs
Boxer briefs are also called tight boxers. They are longer in the leg like boxer shorts and tight
fitting like briefs. This male undergarment is mostly worn in United States, United Kingdom,
Australia and Canada. Boxer briefs are a blend of both shorts and briefs. Men are more comfortable
than boxers because briefs don t ride up like traditional boxers. This type of underwear is available
in various colors and patterns.
You can find assortments of boxer briefs from Spiderman prints to more conservative, clean
looking white ones. You can derive from the name that it is fusion of boxer types and brief type
underwear. Boxer briefs resemble cycling shorts which are worn by athletes or professional
players. Most men wear this undergarment because it can cover more area, from the waist down up
to thighs, and feature the snug fit characteristic of briefs. This type of underwear is mostly worn by
martial artists and wrestlers.
Men s boxer briefs are available in knitted versions which can be worn during the night. In the past
this type of boxer was worn for comfort and durability but now it has been shifted to sexiness. Many
religious institutions such as Mormoms wear this type of undergarment because they think that

Benefits of Raising and Showing Pigs Essay
Some say you re born into it, others say you pick it up as a hobby. I for one believe I was born into
it. Being a third generation farming family definitely had a role in raising market show pigs.
Raising show pigs is and has always been a blessing for many families. You don t have to be born in
the heart of Oklahoma to raise a Grand Champion market pig. Having the correct knowledge about
the industry, feeding regiment, and the proper showman etiquette will help a person greatly.
Before you make the decision to purchase a market pig at a barn sale or online auction you
should have the correct knowledge of the breeds that are out there. There are a total of eight
common breeds of show pigs. These eight breeds can be divided into two groups ... Show more

Berkshire hogs are known for their ability to easily gain weight; they also have traits like black
and white hair. The white hair they have on their bodies must be on their ears, tail, and feet.
Another pig breed that is black and white is the Hampshire. Hamps are heavy muscled but they
can also pack on a lot of weight. They are black with a white belt that goes around their body and
the two front feet must also be white. Hampshire pigs can also be off belts where they do not
have a full belt around their body; they may just have one leg that is white with the rest of the
body black. The last and most recorded breed of pigs in the United States is the Yorkshire. Yorks
are most famous for their outstanding mothering abilities; they are able to produce a large amount
of milk and have structural soundness. A York cannot be any other color than white or if it they
have any extra dewclaws, which we can think of as toes, on the back of their feet.
After deciding on the breed or cross that you want to buy, you need to look at the most important
aspect of a pig; their bonestructure. You can easily feed out a problem like weight or muscle but
if a pig is straight legged as a baby then the problem will only progress. A pig should have a
straight, or level, back and also should have a natural ability to keep their head up. Once you have
the right structure you need to find a pig with an adequate amount of bone so their legs aren t

Research Journal Format
The obvious goal of most research work is to reach out to appropriate readers. Therefore, some
important points should be kept in mind before submitting to a journal for acceptance. The first
question to ask yourself is, Do I have a story to tell? Editors and reviewers look for original and
innovative researchthat adds to their field of study, or immediately impacts patient care. This means
that your conclusions must be sound and based on sufficiently robust data. Secondly, ask yourself,
Is there an audience for my research findings? The more original and innovative your research, the
more people will be interested. Consider whether your research is of interest to a local, regional or
international audience. Identifying your audience... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SELF TECHNICAL REVIEW
In conducting your self technical review, please consider the guidelines shown as follows:
1. Check the type of your article: / / Review Paper / / Original Paper / / Case Report / / Critical
Review / / Book Review / / Other
2. The Title of your paper, whether it reflects your content or not, as great title entices the audience
to read on; a poorly titled article may never draw the attention of its target readers.
3. Author/s sequences as it might invite lots of issues, like conflict among authors and others, etc.
4. Structured abstract and keywords whether appropriately arranged or not?
It is essential to arrange the abstract as IMRAD format in a case of original paper, though it may
differ from case presentation and thesis writing, which has already been discussed in the previous
chapters.
Selecting appropriate keywords are very much important, as discussed. Keywords are used by
abstracting and indexing services; choosing the right ones can increase the chances of your article
being found by other researchers.
5. The body of the text: Keep the introduction brief, as discussed in the previous chapter. It should
provide context and background, but not be a history lesson. It should state the problem being
investigated, its contextual background, and the reasons for conducting the research. State the
questions you re answering and explain any findings of others that you re challenging or

Coming Of Age Story Examples
The purpose of a coming of age story is to show kids turning into young adults and young adults
turning into adults. They show this by using selective detail to show kids standing up for what we
believe and facing their fears at the same time. These coming of age examples are demonstrated in
three stories A P, The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant, and Where Have you gone Charming Billy.
In the first story A P three girls walk into a A P convenience store in nothing but bathing suits to
pick something up for one of the girls mothers. The girls are confronted by the manager in front of
the whole store. One of the store clerks working a checkout is a little mad at the manager for
embarrassing the girls. He comes over and says, Girls, this isn t the beach. This shows that the
manager strongly feels that the girls are dressed inappropriately because of how he yelled at
them in front of the whole store. Queenie s blush is no sunburn now, and the plump one in plaid,
that I liked better from the back a really sweet can pipes up, We weren t doing any shopping. We
just came in for the one thing. This quote shows that the girls are clearly embarrassed and that the
manager done them dirty. My next quote shows that he sticks up for what he believes in The girls,
and who d blame them, are in a hurry to get out, so I say I quit to Lengel quick enough for them to
hear, hoping they ll stop and watch me, their unsuspected hero. . The clerk tells his manager that he

##arison Of Creon In Sophocles Dante s Inferno
In Dante s Inferno, King Minos uses his power to condemn humans to hell based on their sins.
King Minos seeks to use his power wisely, but Creon, King of Thebes in Sophocles Antigone puts
power over family. Creon s self ambition is the driving force behind many of his ill fated
decisions. For example, this flaw of excess greed inspires Creon to commit crimes against his own
niece and son that result in a tragic ending for all involved. Thus, SophoclesCreon belongs in Circle
Eight of Hellwith the Sowers of Discord.
First, King Minos defines each individual based upon their tragic flaw. This comes from Greek
roots because a fatal flaw is a weakness by the character that brings apart their downfall. 1 This
is the first step in passing judgement on Creon. Creon s tragic flaw is his pride and his over
ambition. Creon himself admits this, That is true.... It troubles me. Oh it is hard to give in! but
it is worse to risk everything for stubborn pride. 2 Pride is very dangerous because that leads to his
over ambition. Aristotle argues the need to have proper pride. When a person is in excess, they
are too prideful and their deficiency is that they are too short of humility.3 This excess in pride
entices Creon to test out his power, so once Creon gets hold of power, he is very unlikely to give it
up. Creon s tragic flaw of pride and over ambition led to his downfall and his place in hell.
Since Creon has a tragic flaw, he cannot be in Limbo with the Virtuous. In his Nicomachean

Oil has been used by domestic and foreign governments in the development of the Middle East
both domestically and in foreign policy since 1940 by using it as a bartering item because it is
such a valid and precious resource that can fuel homes, towns, and countries. The Middle East has
had many ups and downs throughout its development as a country, but its abundant supply of oil
made it a country that outsiders wanted to either friend or control. The D Arcy Concession in the
early 1900 s were rights created for the people of the D Arcy, to search and dig for oil within Iran.

There was no competition to lower their asking price. Soon to follow in the mid 1970 s, was an oil
embargo. This embargo presented the first oil shock. Immediately OAPEC proclaimed the embargo.
Anwar el Sadat, the third president of Egypt played a role during this time. He reigned from 1970
until the early 1980 s. As a member of the free officers who overthrew King Farouk in an
Egyptian revolution during the 1950 s, Anwar el Sadat reinstituted a multiparty system creating a
domino effect leading to the October war. All Palestinian efforts were abandoned, and he was
opposed by PLO and the Muslim Brotherhood. This alienation also included him getting kicked
out of the Arab league which was in the early 1980 s. This then resulted in the United States
involvement in the October War. As retaliation to the OAPEC the United Stated decided to supply
those affected unjustly by this embargo with arms. The October War is also known as the Yom
Kippur war. The countries mainly involved at this time were Israel, Egypt and Syria, and Egypt
had an additional end goal to claim the Sinai Peninsula.
Though there were multiple conflicts in the fight to gain power of the oil in the Middle East this
helped to strengthen the Middle East. It turned their country from being seen as a stereotypical
dried up desert to being seen as a rich and prosperous advantage to those in alliance with it. Oil
provided the Middle East to have a voice in trading systems. Everyone needed oil

Identifying The Target Market Is The First Step Of...
Identifying the target market is the first step in successfully marketing a product or business
idea. The Pedego Stretch e cargo bike is a product that features a variety of cargo storage areas,
while offering the ease and comfort of a bike designed with the individual in mind [see appendix
A]. I would place this bike in the consumer market for a few reasons. Mainly, because the
majority of consumers would be purchasing this bike for personal use. While this bike could
potentially be used as part of a business, it would not be incorporated into a new product and sold
as such. The creators of the Pedego e bikes are very consumer focused. They design each bike
with the individual who will be riding it in mind, making this product a great fit for the
consumer market. Once the overall market has been determined the next step is to segment the
market. I would begin with a geographic segmentation characteristic, focusing on individuals
living in urban areas. The e cargo bike has extensive storage, and the electric aspect make it easy
to tow large loads without having to rely completely on manual peddling. This makes it a great
alternative to using a car in large cities. Parking can be very expensive and inconvenient, so the e
cargo bike could also save people a great deal of money, while offering the convenience of skipping
the traffic. Not only can the bike tow physical cargo, it can also be used to tow children, as kids
bike seats can be attached to the back. Making

Simulation Based teaching of fluid balance interpretation and prescription of intravenous fluids
Problem Identification Interpretation of the fluid balance of hospitalized patients and prescription
of intravenous fluids is one of the core clinical skills required for the practice of medicine in
almost every specialty. Failure to follow the best practice guidelines can result in increased
morbidity and mortality in cases of under prescription, over prescription or from prescribing the
wrong type of fluids as highlighted in the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and
Death (NCEPOD) report about the perioperative mortality 1999. [1] The report emphasized on the
importance of fluid prescription and recommended that it should be considered as important as
drug prescription. National guidelines exist for the best practice regarding this matter where it
reports that about 20 % of patients receiving IV fluids suffer an unwanted effect , additionally
those guidelines are supported by local protocols within the individual NHS institutes. Moreover,
most trusts employ a NICE lead for the implementation of the fluid prescription guidelines in
addition to supervising an ongoing auditing process to evaluate local practices. [2]. Despite the
importance of the issue and the resources allocated to the topic; the task of fluid prescribing is often
left to the least trained members of staff to perform, such as the foundation trainees with very
limited training in the subject.

Mergers and Acquisitions
Mergers and Acquisitions In modern business environments, there are increasing dynamics
encouraging firms to utilize mergers and acquisitions to resolve resource. In dynamic business
environments, the value of existing resources is subject to erosion, in some instances fast
erosion. Consequently, firms continuously respond to changing environmental conditions by
upgrading their resources and capabilities via renewal, acquisition, redeployment, and
recombination. Mergers and acquisitions provide firms with a practical tool to close their
resource gaps, allowing for a much faster reconfiguration of the product mix toward high profit
products than, for example, internal development (Eschen and Bresser, 2005). The need for
corporate firms to achieve competitive advantage in a highly competitive global environment
has necessitated the implementation of innovative strategies, one of them being mergers and
acquisitions (Rizvi, 2010). Mergers and acquisitions have become an increasingly popular
strategy for achieving corporate growth and diversification, with the M A activity in the 1990 s
smashing all existing records, both in terms of the number of transactions and the size of the
deals. The worldwide value of M A increased from $462 billion in 1990 to over $3.5 trillion in
2000. Even though this unparalleled wave of M A drop in the early 2000 s as the global economy
cooled off and slid into recession, the M A volume worldwide remains at a much higher level than

Analysis Of Sylvia Plath s Cinderella A Moving Reading
Cinderella a Moving Reading Believing love and romance encompass haunting uncertainty and
excitement, Sylvia Plath s poem connects my personal experiences and those depicted within a
classic fairytale, I loved all my life and enjoyed hearing my parents read day after day. Having had
many relationships begin with an unforgettable moment, blossom through school dances and dates
with friends, and end instantaneously, I relate with how the prince feels. I too have leaned forward
and kissed a date, whirled around the dance floor envisioning combined futures, and then
experienced pain as my date rapidly disappears from my life. Plath s Cinderella adaptation focuses
on the moment Prince Charming and Cinderella dance right before they separate, symbolically
representing my experiences and inspiring my poetrychoice. During scenery description, Path
brings a haunting excitement and motion within the room and readers together. Plath brings forth
memories covering past and current loves. While reading this poem, I utilized underscoring, voice
tone changes, and varying length pauses, capturing the constant movement and the progressively
building excitement throughout the scene. During the first stanza, Plath utilized both visual and
auditory imagery, such as the Cinderella s description, thus setting a romantic, slowand almost
haunting tone for the piece. Showcasing the romancebetween the girl and the prince depicted here,
with some haunting overtones, I underscored the word

Essay Functions of the Chorus in Shakespeare s Henry V
Functions of the Chorus in Shakespeare s Henry V In Shakespeare s Henry V, the chorus plays a
prominent role. There are few other plays written by Shakespeare that include a chorus, however
in no other play does the chorus have such an important role. The principal purpose of the chorus
is that of story telling. The chorus acts as a guide for the audience, narrating parts that wouldn t fit
into the action of the play. For example in the Act II Chorus, we are told about treason: The sum is
paid, the traitors are agreed, the king is now set from London, and the scene is now transported,

Caesar , a great roman emperor and by the epilogue Henry is The star of England . However,
Henry also has a less attractive side, which is occasionally portrayed in the scenes between the

then God will be on his side. If Canterbury agrees, then effectively anything bad that happens to

Description Of A On The Warehouse Manager System (...
My Proposal: Focal points: Picking пЃ¶Order is placed by a customer online/phone пЃ¶WMS
(warehouse managing system) organizes the order into pick lines/pick list. пЃ¶Based on how the
warehouse is set up we move forward with following picking strategies: пѓ By SKU (stock
keeping unit): inventory is identified by these SKU. Pro: Items are listed in order which will
minimize backtracking Con: A lot of time spent on transit, errors can be common and you need
to train people on location codes. Ex. SKU beginning with 123 is situated in which aisle. пѓ By
Location: each item is paired with a location ID. Pro: Knowing where the item is better then
SKU and software can improve productivity Con: transit time is still an issue пѓ By Zone (pick
and pass): workers assigned to a zone and once they complete their portion it is pass over to the
next person until completion. Pro: Reduces travel time of a an individual Con: Must
have a sophisticated WMS I would suggest using the zone method for organizing the warehouse
as well as picking items as this puts us in a position regardless of city or location to succeed. If
we are setting up shop in CA or NY we can bring this same methodology to any new warehouse
and since we began with the most sophisticated WMS already; it ensures that 20 years from now
we will still have something that is function. Packing пЃ¶Utilizing technology пѓ Goal Right

The Early History of Golf in the U.S. Essay
The game of golf is one of the oldest of today s modern sports. Its exact beginnings are not
known; however, some historians trace golf back to the Stone Age while others claim it
originated from the idle antics of shepherd boys knocking small stones into holes in the ground
with a crook while their flocks grazed nearby (Peper 1). Researched back to the time of the Roman
Empire, it is also believed the sports oriented Romans played a forerunner of the game of golf
called paganica. This sport involved the use of a bent stick and a ball stuffed with wool played in
the open countryside.

Reid, born in Scotland, had immigrated to the United States as a youth bringing with him an
interest in the game of golf. Golf was by then a well established and popular sport in his native
land. Just a year before, Bob Lockhart, a friend of Reid s, was planning a business a trip to
Scotland. At Reid s urging request, Lockhart brought back with him a few golf clubs and balls.
Reid laid out three golf holes in his cow pasture and on February 22, 1888, Reid and his neighbor
John Upham gave an exhibition on the Scottish game. The curious neighbors, watching the
sport, were keenly interested to the point where they wished to participate. Within a few
months, the men formed a group known as the Men of St. Andrew s. As their interest in the
game grew, golf clubs and balls began arriving from Scotland. By the end of the summer, the
three original holes in the cow pasture had become inadequate. The Men of St. Andrew s made
their first move to a thirty acre meadow owned by the local butcher. In November of that same

Replication Of The Viral Dsdna
LYTIC INFECTION
Once the viral dsDNA has entered the nucleus, if it circularizes itself and becomes an episome
within the nucleus, then the virus has entered a lytic life cycle. EBV replication takes place in
specialized sites within the host nucleus, referred to as replication compartments8. It is believed
that EBV replicates following the rolling circle replication model1. Figure 3 demonstrates how
RCR works: after being cut with an endonuclease one strand is replicated continuously and the
other is replicated discontinuously, putting together segments called linear concatamers and they
code for circular DNA. Once EBV replication has begun the three stages of transcription begin to
follow.
EBV, along with some other viruses, transcribe their DNA in a very regulated and temporal
fashion. These stages, or sets of genes, are called the immediate early (IE) genes, early (E) genes,
and late (L) genes. The tegument protein VP16 helps initiate the transcription of the IE genes,
which code for DNA binding proteins that will be useful for the remaining steps of
transcription1. E genes codes for proteins necessary for vDNA replication as well as other helpful
proteins for transcription and L genes code for structural proteins that aren t needed until after viral
replication has started1. As IE and E genes are replicated and transcribed they are exported to the
cell cytoplasm for translation and the appropriate proteins are brought back into the nucleus to aid
in transcription or

Public Relation And The Impact Of New Media
Public relation and The Impact of New Media
Advertising is a crucial piece of any business since it is the most direct correspondence between

Cotton Mather s Return Of The Several Ministers
Cotton Mathers
Cotton Mathers was born in 1663, into a family that were New England Puritan ministers, as Rev.
John Cotton and Rev. Richard Mather. Cotton was determined to reach fame, as he looked up to
his father Rev. Increase Mather, who was a well appreciated political leader, and minister of the
South Church in Boston. Cotton made outstanding grades on his Greek and Latin entrance exams
at the age of twelve, and began college at Harvard. He received his M.A. at the age of eighteen,
and felt that he should spend his life in a church in the clergy. He had a stutter that stalled him from
entering the ministry, and his demand to preach, he becoming a doctor under consideration.

Scholars also believed that Mathers dramatic description of the devil s activity on the Goodwin s
young children might have caused the first act of witchcraft among the young girls in the Salem
Village. Mather was not involved in the trials, but he wrote a letter to John Richards, one of the
magistrates in the trials, persuading caution in the use of spectral evidence. Mather also wrote
Return of the Several Ministers , a report sent to the judges of the Salem court. It was a carefully
worded document that persuaded caution in the use of spectral evidence , suggesting that the
devil could change his shape, or denounce the use of spectral evidence in the trials, though he
was warning the judges, they saw it as him saying it was okay to move forward and they
approved the trials to do so. Eyewitnesses have thoughts that Mather was more involved in the
trials. Mather, is preyed upon in history, because of the information in Robert Calef s book, More

Operating Lease, Building, Machinery, And Construction Lease
Businesses own fixed assets (such as plant, building, machinery etc). But, for a business, it is the
use of fixed assets that is important, not the ownership. A business can raise capital through debt or
equity and purchase the fixed assets. Alternative way of using the fixed asset is by leasing them.
Leasingallows a firm to use an asset even though firm does not have capital to buy the asset.
In a lease transaction, there are two parties:
1.Lessee: The user of the leased assets
2.Lessor: The owner of the assets.
Leases can be broadly classified into two categories: Operating lease and Financial lease
Operating Lease
In operating lease, the fundamental rights and responsibilities of ownership are retained by the
lessor. The lessor transfers only the right to use the property to the lessee. At the end of the lease
period, the lessee returns the property to the lessor. The lessee does not assume any risk of
ownership. Thus, operating lease does not affect the balance sheet. The lease expenses are treated as
operating expenses in income statement.
In operating lease, usually lessor maintains the property. The cost of maintenance is built into the
lease payment. Generally the lease contract is written for a period much shorter than the expected
useful life of the asset. The lease contract generally contains cancellation clause that gives the
lessee right to cancel the lease before lease expiry. The lease payment on operating lease can be
structured in two

Jaws Short Monologue Analysis

Ms. Ballard
Period One
October 5th 2014
Over the years of cinema history, we ve heard plenty lines that make our skin crawl with bone
chilling fear, but for me, none quite did it like this line from Captain Quint, in Jaws.
You know the thing about a shark, he s got... lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll s eye. When he
comes at ya, doesn t seem to be livin . Until he bites ya and those black eyes roll over white. And
then, ah then you hear that terrible high pitch screamin and the ocean turns red and spite of all
the poundin and the hollerin they all come in and rip you to pieces. Y know by the end of that
first dawn, lost a hundred men! I don t know how many sharks, maybe a thousand! I don t know
how many men, they averaged six an hour. This quote is burned into my mind forever. I was
maybe eleven when I first watched Jaws, and Captain Quints long monologue about his
experience in the waters of the Atlantic, dumped into the sea by a shipwrecked USS. Indianapolis
has always instilled fear and awe in me. Awe and fear towards sharks. So what s it called when
something instills a feeling of awe in a person? Well, it means that that thing is awesome. So that

events. In these sometime month long events, a state government will pay any fishermen to bring

support shark culling, he in fact helped raise awareness about sharks becoming endangered. He
wrote articles about how misunderstood sharks are (Benchley, Peter). This is now illegal in the
United States, but is still practiced in countries such as Japan and Australia. Even in those countries,

Vyaderm Pharmaceuticals Case Analysis Essay
Vyaderm Pharmaceuticals Case Analysis| | | As consultant to Sanders and Myers, I would
suggest they rethink the continuation of economic value added ( EVA ) bonus payout process.
The proposed EVA bonus payout structure is supposed to be an objective way to gauge and
reward employee performance; however, through no fault of their own, the Dermatology group
is slated to undergo severe ebbs and flows in their incentive and could potentially wreak havoc
on employee morale and retention. For example, in Exhibit E, we see that the dermatology
group stands to receive a $251, 451, payout as a result of a strong EVA at $31,361, a net gain of
28,440 vs. the 2009 EVA. We would also expect to see employees bank $131,451 in that same year.

I would argue that the unlimited upside and downside of a manager s bonus potential based on a
single business unit s performance causes great chaos because it may be driven by factors
beyond one s control and not necessarily as the result of true strong performance. Yes, the upside
is great! In 2000, the Dermatology group stands to pocket 200+% of their target bonus due to a
competitive exit. However, Dermatology s favorable EVA was driven by unsustainable share
gains, a fluke in the market. But, as seen with the Diagnostics group, when it s down, it s

Application Verification Calibration Circuit For Workstations
Our capstone project, DDR4 INTERFACE DESIGN VERIFICATON FOR SERVERS aims at
the design verification calibration circuit for high speed interfaces for memory subsystems.
These interfaces allow for data transfer to and from the memory to facilitate interoperability.
During the initial phase, we thoroughly studied the unique features and requirements of DDR4,
the latest and fastest version of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) and the implications
of those factors for controller and physical layer design. In this project, my initial focus was on
the physical layer that connects the DDR4 memory to its controller. After an extensive literature
review, I narrowed my focus to the design and verification of calibration circuit, which is going
to be used to calibrate resistance and slew rate of drivers at IO buffers to provide better
communication with external devices. 2.1. Overview The DDR4 memory works at twice the
data rate of its predecessors. This is facilitated by the physical layer, which needs to be capable
of reliably handling twice the data rate than it did with the previous version of DRAM, DDR3. At
the integrated circuits level, several changes have been made to allow for this. Owing to these
changes in specifications, the DDR4 subsystem is capable of achieving the doubled data rates at a
lower power consumption allowing for prolonged battery life in devices employing this

The Problem Of Crime Rates
Overview of the Problem I currently the Chief of Police in Savannah, Georgia and the problem
that our city in currently facing is an increase in the crime rate in the city especially in the area
of violent crimes. Violent crime rose 8.8 percent in 2014 over the previous year with robberies
and shooting accounting for most of those crimes. The city reported 32 homicides in 2014, which
was two more than 2013, and the number of rapes increased from 49 to 64 . The City Manager and
City Council has informed me that these numbers are unacceptable and in an effort to control, the
rising crimerate I propose the following measures (McCammon, 2015).
Constraints and Lack of Resources One of the largest constraints due to lack of resources we
face in controlling crime in the Savannah Police Department is the shortage of police officers.
On any given week between the five different precincts there can be a shortage of 50 to 60
officers overall. As a result, the officers spend most of their time responding to 911 calls and
therefore do not have time to staff their beats or practice crime prevention. This also does not
allow them any time to interact with the public, which is an important part of crime prevention,
and it can leave a precinct un patrolled if they receive as few as three overlapping calls that
require a back up as six officers can be all that is available during a short staff shift. In addition, it
results in neglected citizens complaints as it leaves the officers little

Thus, the challenge for all organizations today is to develop systems and/or strategies that will
enable them to become even more innovative around the issues of creativity, change and
innovation. How well they do this will determine how well and how far the organization evolves
in the future. What are innovation, change and creativity? Wikipedia simple definition of
innovation is to renew or change. The Shorter Oxford Dictionary (cited in Hayes, 2002) defines
change as the substitution or succession of one thing in place of another. Von Stamm (2008, p.
1) posits that creativity and innovation are [often] used interchangeably. Von Stamm (2008 p. 2)
goes on further to say that creativity is an essential part of innovation. Innovation has been
described by Boak citing West et al (2003, p17) as the introduction of new and improved ways of
doing things at work and the process of applying ideas, processes, products, or procedures, which
are new to the people and places where you are introducing them (Boak 2010). Adair (2007, p. x)
ups the ante when he states that innovation calls for a special form of creativity. Adair (2009, p.
17) states to innovate means . . . to bring in or introduce something new. Adair (2007, p .x) points
out that innovation is the key to winning and keeping leadership in world markets. Von Stamm
(2008, p. xi) posits innovation, creativity and design are . . . amongst the most frequently used

The European document, on the other hand, openly and repeatedly calls for Unification and
Cooperation (European Security Strategy, 2003, 1 8). The United States can draw from European
religious history and ethnic origin, which gives it some cultural similarities. At the same time, the
birth of our nation was so much more recent, and so dramatically different from the beginning of
European history, that it s no wonder there are fundamental differences in culture. Even before the
Declaration of Independence ( God and truth referenced) or the US Constitution were drafted (
freedom of religion ), early America was rooted in Christianity. The first Pilgrims fled religious
persecution in Europe. Christian doctrine has been quoted in speeches given by American leaders

But the development of something unknown at the time held a sufficient amount of time. And this

Exit man in space has its ideological background, leaving back centuries, and technological

On what grounds man became a sentient being and thus separated from the animal world?
The man in the social and employment created around himself a habitat that did not exist naturally
in the nature of the Earth.
In fact, as early mastery of fire and clothing from animal skins were the first means by which man
began to create themselves a stable artificial microenvironment that protects it from temperature
changes and seasonal changes. The transition from hunting and gathering to animal husbandry,
farming and craft guarantee the stability of obtaining food. Modern apartments, food and light
industry, in principle, it is the same activity on the formation of the environment. Then it was the
Neolithic Revolution, which began about six thousand years ago, the essence of which just
consisted in replacing the consumption of finished goods and the nature of their conditions of

But if a person surrounds himself microenvironment, radically different from the natural macro

Ethics, Morality, And Morality
Ethics and morality may initially seem to be interchangeable words used to describe a code of
conduct that society should follow in order to make informed decisions. However, they are in fact
two separate entities that exist as individual codes of conduct, yet share a symbiotic relationship in
decision making. Ethicscan be described as the rules of behavior and demeanor as established by
society, a certain sociological group of people, or a religion. Consequently, due to the nature of
ethics, they can ultimately be viewed as a governing body. This body is recognized by some larger
institution greater than oneself, one that someone is obligated to follow as determined by their
religion, race, or creed. On the other hand, moralityis an internal trait that is, in due course, solely
created by the individual. People may recognize ethics as virtues set by their society or creed,
whereas morality regards people determining whether the ethics in their everyday experiences
adhere to individual principles and conduct. With this prevalent symbiotic relationship between
ethics and morality, one can recognize the vital role that ethics and morality partake in when it
comes to decision making. As a result of this relationship, these two qualities become important in
areas of operation, such as business, where decisions are often made by one individual for the sake
of the greater whole. This approach, also known as utilitarianism, can often lead to questionable

Any potential new suppliers should be screened using well defined Key Performance Indicators. A
similar approach should be taken for the spare parts that fit into the Critical quadrant. Long term
contracts should be pursued in order to guarantee the supply and higher inventory levels should be
maintained to ensure that operations are not disrupted.
For both part classifications, additional resources should be dedicated to forecasting. While
Aeroxchange is a step in the right direction, it is ineffective because it does not predict
unscheduled removals, which account for 79% of all removals. CX should apply some rigor to the

mischief that transpired between Arthur and his gang, consisting of Ford Perfect, an alien named

it reveals that it will take a few billion years to process a coherent answer. When the answer is
finally processed, it is than revealed that a more powerful computer is out there somewhere. That
computer is Earth, and, yadda yadda, Earth was annihilated five minutes before it was finished
processing, causing the mice to want Arthur s brain so the true nature of life can be revealed to them.
It was hard to find a significant passage in this piece, because there are so many side plots and

The First Sex Offender Register Law
United States
California enacted the first sex offender register law in 1944. However, sex offender registers in
the United States did not become widespread until the 1990s. The Jacob Wetterling Act 1994 was
named after 11 year old Jacob Wetterling who was abducted and to this day has never been found.
The Jacob Wetterling Act implemented the first nation wide sex offenderregister. Originally, the
concept of a sex offender register was intended to for use solely by law enforcement; it was not
an intention for the sex offender register to be public. However in 1996, Megan s Law was
added to the Wetterling Crimes Against Children and Sexually Violent Offender Registration
Act 1994 and made it a requirement for the information on sex offender registers to be accessible
by the public. Megan s Law was enacted as a result of a heinous crime where 7 year old Megan
Kanka was raped and murdered by her neighbour, who had two previous convictions for sexually
assaulting young girls. In 2006, Congress passed the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act.
This Act required states to enact stricter registration requirements, including an increase in the
penalty for not registering and more frequent verification of sex offenders locations. Since 2006
public access to sex offender registers has been accessible on the Internet in most states. On these
websites you can search for an offender by name or location, and find information such as their

poderosa herramienta de motivaciГіn y evaluaciГіn.
organizaciГіn debe centrar su atenciГіn y recursos.
El BSC alinea y apoya los procesos claves de la organizaciГіn, e incluye lo siguiente:

Analysis Of Herbert Hoover s The Great Gatsby
This script presents as a historical, character driven drama that explores an interesting part of
Herbert Hoover s life as a secretary and mining scout in Australia. The tone is consistently dramatic
with a nice element of wit and humor. The era, culture, and time period feel authentic and
believable. The historical information feels well researched.
Hoover s goal to become rich and marry the woman of his dreams is well established and drives
Hoover s actions.
Will the story has the potential to be a compelling drama, the script would benefit from more
development, especially in the area of structure, pace, and tension.
First, the opening begins when Hoover is handing over his Presidency and then flashbacks back in
time. This is a workable structure, although the opening scene doesn t immediately grab the
attention of the audience. It s heavy with dialogue and doesn t highlight the emotion of Hoover.
The first act is driven by Hoover s quest for a job so that he can marry the woman he loves. The
first act is a bit repetitive in dialogue, as his friends repeatedly counsel him about meeting with
Lou s father and what to do and say. Hoover also tends to repeat his goal several times about
getting rich and marrying Lou (page 17 and page 20 are examples).
The second act is driven by Hoover s job in Australia. The concern about the second act is that there
s very little compelling tension to sustain the overall plot. The story requires stronger pivotal plot
beats that

Selling an Insurance policy to a person whose age is between 18 20 years doesn t make any
sense. So we should know if we are going to sell an Insurance policy , the person should be of such
age that understands what are the reason to buy the insurance.
Before a person going for a certain location they have to make a call or in other words I can say
they have to make an appointment. Before going to any location the sales person has to make
some cold calls also which needs to be collect from his database. In this process the sales person
has to make as much as information as he can before going to the customers location.
Another important step in personal selling is approach where a sales person has to make their
first impression to be the best impression. The sales person has to treat the customer by smiling ,
by properly greeting . First of all the sales person needs to introduce himself and focus on the
product . Once we come to know the customer is interested in the product then the sales person
needs to do a presentation. They needs to explain clear about the features and all about the product.
Then the sales person has to handle the questions from a customer in this regard. Before the sales
person moving to close the sales they have to answer to any query from the customer.

Gender And Gender Aspects Of Gender In Everyday Life
Gender in Everyday Life
Shyana Burks Diggins
Community College of Aurora
Gender in Everyday Life In today s culture, I see gender being a person s master status. In most
aspects of my life, I notice that gender overrides other statuses such as my race or occupation. I
believe gender does this because of the way it is instilled in every social institution. I imagine it is
hard to inquire about my experiences without it coming from a woman s perspective. It s not what it
means to be college educated, but what does it mean to be a college educated woman, and not
what does it mean to be black, but what does it mean to be a black woman. Parenthood is near
impossible to be understood without seeing it through a gender experience. Although gender is
a social construction, it dictates individuals in a way that I cannot imagine any other social
concept could. As I recorded my actions throughout the day, I realized that there are a lot of
them that are dictated by my gender. I recorded over 50 actions and I am sure that I could have
recorded differently depending on the kind of day. I recorded around 10 15 actions just from the
daily aspect of getting ready and clothing. For example, I thought I chose my clothing depending
on how I felt that day, but I realized small things like my choice of underwear was never of my
volition. Depending on the kind of pants I wore, I wanted to avoid a panty line not only for
fashion s sake but because that will affect future interactions with the other sex. With my
experience, I see that men pick the underwear that will suit their comfort level, like if they want
to wear briefs for exercising or boxers for a less active setting. Some of my actions I instantly
knew were gendered, like my application of makeup to uphold a feminine standard or even the
change of inflection of my voice when I talk to customers on the phone. As a woman and a
consumer, I know that when I speak to a representative about an issue I expect empathy. A
representative conveys that through smiling through the phone . Supervisors and trainers at my job
admit that this trait is better accomplished by women because if we sound any other way we sound
off putting and ingenuine. This

William Carlos Williams and His Imagist Poetry
Modernism and Imagism, two movements in literature ,which were developed in the
20th century .At the beginning of the decade ,modernism was a revolution of style .Crime,
depression, and materialism filled this era. Musician, artists, and writers broke away from technique

The Geographic Landscape Of The African Continent
When it comes to discussing the geographic landscape of the African continent people are quick
to overlook the important role that soil has played in the development of cultures and civilizations
in Africa because it can be so easily overshadowed by Africa s other geographic features such as its
rivers, mountains, deserts andgrasslands. However, to ignore soilis undoubtedly a mistake because
African soils cannot be separated from African history (Showers 118). Soils are literally the
foundation of life, used for farming, building houses, making pottery, and mined for their mineral
deposits. They are in themselves, historical bodies and they have interacted with human history
since its beginning. (Showers 118). While looking for information on the soil of Africait is not
uncommon to find descriptions such as African soils are indeed poor (Bohannan 23) while being
presented with the seemingly paradoxical fact that By far the greatest number of Africans are
farmers. (Bohannan 43). This paper will examine how it is possible for Africa to be a continent
consisting of such poor soil yet be full of such a rich history of farming that persists into present
day. It will explore the general characteristics of African soil, how humans have historically
interacted with soil, and the way that outsiders have used generalizations about Africa s soil to
perpetuate Western misconceptions.
When attempting to gain insight into the general characteristics of African soil it is

Endocrine Disruptors Essay
Endocrine Disruptors
During recent years, numerous newspaper and magazine articles have suggested that humans may
be at risk because small amounts of well known environmental contaminants, such as dioxin, PCBs
and DDT, can affect hormone levels. Hormones are produced by the endocrine system as regulators
of biological function in target organs. Because hormones play a critical role in early development,
toxicological effects on the endocrine system often have an impact on the reproductive system. The
term endocrine disruptor is used to describe chemicals that can mimic hormones and may either
enhance or counteract their effects. It has been suggested that these hormone changes can, in turn,
lead to a variety of health problems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fry and Toone (1986) found when they inject fertilised seabird eggs with DDT and its
metabolites. The male chicks produced have varying degrees of intersexuality depending on
dosage, reproductive system with both male and female structures. The female chicks had a
partial to full developed right oviducts, instead of just left functional structures. In the area where
the eggs were collected, there was multiple female female pairing and low hatchability of eggs.
Males exposed as embryos to estrogenic pesticides showed decreased to no sexual behaviour. (Fry
and Toone, 1981) Louis Guillette noticed that male alligators from Lake Apopka in Florida have
vestigial penis, follicle like testis and elevated estrogens/testosterone ratios and the female hatching
s ovaries were producing multiple egg follicles and eggs with several nuclei (Luoma, 1995,
Guillette et al., 1995) The females also had above normal estrogens levels. When he and his
colleagues did a similar injection study with DDT and DDE, they produced results similar to those
found in the field. The reduction in penis length and the abnormal gonads made the hatchlings
reproductively incapable. Both the bird and alligator studies were prompted by the contamination
of large water bodies by organochlorins and the low breeding success of the animals living and
feeding in these areas.
Of particular interest are those chemicals, which mimic the female hormone of estrogen, which is

When talking to someone that was private schooled, public schooled, or homeschooled, you will notice a large difference in the views that these different types of educations can help to create. In public school settings, children are sometimes taught that the government is a helping hand and generally good, which can lead to them favoring more Democratic ideas and supporting government programs later on in life. However, a homeschooler might lean more toward the conservative side, especially if their parents (who are already influencing them) use their authority as a teacher to communicate that the government cannot be trusted. Furthermore, people that go on to attend college tend to be more active in the political scene and also tend to actively protest or support things that they care about on a more public level. Lastly, political socialization can be formed through political environment. Political environment is what current events are happening around you that influence your opinion on certain matters. King Minos seeks to use his power wisely, but Creon, King of Thebes in Sophocles Antigone puts power over family. Creon s self ambition is the driving force behind many of his ill fated decisions. For example, this flaw of excess greed inspires Creon to commit crimes against his own niece and son that result in a tragic ending for all involved. Thus, SophoclesCreon belongs in Circle Eight of Hellwith the Sowers of Discord. First, King Minos defines each individual based upon their tragic flaw. This comes from Greek roots because a fatal flaw is a weakness by the character that brings apart their downfall. 1 This is the first step in passing judgement on Creon. Creon s tragic flaw is his pride and his over ambition. Creon himself admits this, That is true.... It troubles me. Oh it is hard to give in! but it is worse to risk everything for stubborn pride. 2 Pride is very dangerous because that leads to his over ambition. Aristotle argues the need to have proper pride. When a person is in excess, they are too prideful and their deficiency is that they are too short of humility.3 This excess in pride entices Creon to test out his power, so once Creon gets hold of power, he is very unlikely to give it up. As a member of the free officers who overthrew King Farouk in an Egyptian revolution during the 1950 s, Anwar el Sadat reinstituted a multiparty system creating a domino effect leading to the October war. The Pedego Stretch e cargo bike is a product that features a variety of cargo storage areas, while offering the ease and comfort of a bike designed with the individual in mind [see appendix A]. I would place this bike in the consumer market for a few reasons. Mainly, because the majority of consumers would be purchasing this bike for personal use. While this bike could potentially be used as part of a business, it would not be incorporated into a new product and sold as such. The creators of the Pedego e bikes are very consumer focused. They design each bike with the individual who will be riding it in mind, making this product a great fit for the consumer market. Once the overall market has been determined the next step is to segment the market. I would begin with a geographic segmentation characteristic, focusing on individuals living in urban areas. The e cargo bike has extensive storage, and the electric aspect make it easy to tow large loads without having to rely completely on manual peddling. This makes it a great alternative to using a car in large cities. Parking can be very expensive and inconvenient, so the e cargo bike could also save people a great deal of money, while offering the convenience of skipping the traffic. EBV replication takes place in specialized sites within the host nucleus, referred to as replication compartments8. It is believed that EBV replicates following the rolling circle replication model1. Figure 3 demonstrates how RCR works: after being cut with an endonuclease one strand is replicated continuously and the other is replicated discontinuously, putting together segments called linear concatamers and they code for circular DNA. Once EBV replication has begun the three stages of transcription begin to follow. EBV, along with some other viruses, transcribe their DNA in a very regulated and temporal fashion. These stages, or sets of genes, are called the immediate early (IE) genes, early (E) genes, and late (L) genes. The tegument protein VP16 helps initiate the transcription of the IE genes, which code for DNA binding proteins that will be useful for the remaining steps of transcription1. E genes codes for proteins necessary for vDNA replication as well as other helpful proteins for transcription and L genes code for structural proteins that aren t needed until after viral replication has started1. As IE and E genes are replicated and transcribed they are exported to the cell cytoplasm for translation and the appropriate proteins are brought back into the nucleus to aid in transcription or ... • 25. Operating Lease, Building, Machinery, And Construction Lease Businesses own fixed assets (such as plant, building, machinery etc). But, for a business, it is the use of fixed assets that is important, not the ownership. A business can raise capital through debt or equity and purchase the fixed assets. Alternative way of using the fixed asset is by leasing them. Leasingallows a firm to use an asset even though firm does not have capital to buy the asset. In a lease transaction, there are two parties: 1.Lessee: The user of the leased assets 2.Lessor: The owner of the assets. Leases can be broadly classified into two categories: Operating lease and Financial lease Operating Lease In operating lease, the fundamental rights and responsibilities of ownership are retained by the lessor. The lessor transfers only the right to use the property to the lessee. At the end of the lease period, the lessee returns the property to the lessor. The lessee does not assume any risk of ownership. Thus, operating lease does not affect the balance sheet. The lease expenses are treated as operating expenses in income statement. In operating lease, usually lessor maintains the property. The cost of maintenance is built into the lease payment. Generally the lease contract is written for a period much shorter than the expected useful life of the asset. The lease contract generally contains cancellation clause that gives the lessee right to cancel the lease before lease expiry. The lease payment on operating lease can be structured in two ... You know the thing about a shark, he s got... lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll s eye. When he comes at ya, doesn t seem to be livin . Until he bites ya and those black eyes roll over white. And then, ah then you hear that terrible high pitch screamin and the ocean turns red and spite of all the poundin and the hollerin they all come in and rip you to pieces. Y know by the end of that first dawn, lost a hundred men! I don t know how many sharks, maybe a thousand! I don t know how many men, they averaged six an hour. Application Verification Calibration Circuit For Workstations Our capstone project, DDR4 INTERFACE DESIGN VERIFICATON FOR SERVERS aims at the design verification calibration circuit for high speed interfaces for memory subsystems. These interfaces allow for data transfer to and from the memory to facilitate interoperability. During the initial phase, we thoroughly studied the unique features and requirements of DDR4, the latest and fastest version of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) and the implications of those factors for controller and physical layer design. In this project, my initial focus was on the physical layer that connects the DDR4 memory to its controller. After an extensive literature review, I narrowed my focus to the design and verification of calibration circuit, which is going to be used to calibrate resistance and slew rate of drivers at IO buffers to provide better communication with external devices. 2.1. Overview The DDR4 memory works at twice the data rate of its predecessors. This is facilitated by the physical layer, which needs to be capable of reliably handling twice the data rate than it did with the previous version of DRAM, DDR3. At the integrated circuits level, several changes have been made to allow for this. Owing to these changes in specifications, the DDR4 subsystem is capable of achieving the doubled data rates at a lower power consumption allowing for prolonged battery life in devices employing this ... The Problem Of Crime Rates Overview of the Problem I currently the Chief of Police in Savannah, Georgia and the problem that our city in currently facing is an increase in the crime rate in the city especially in the area of violent crimes. Violent crime rose 8.8 percent in 2014 over the previous year with robberies and shooting accounting for most of those crimes. The city reported 32 homicides in 2014, which was two more than 2013, and the number of rapes increased from 49 to 64 . The City Manager and City Council has informed me that these numbers are unacceptable and in an effort to control, the rising crimerate I propose the following measures (McCammon, 2015). Constraints and Lack of Resources One of the largest constraints due to lack of resources we face in controlling crime in the Savannah Police Department is the shortage of police officers. On any given week between the five different precincts there can be a shortage of 50 to 60 officers overall. As a result, the officers spend most of their time responding to 911 calls and therefore do not have time to staff their beats or practice crime prevention. This also does not allow them any time to interact with the public, which is an important part of crime prevention, and it can leave a precinct un patrolled if they receive as few as three overlapping calls that require a back up as six officers can be all that is available during a short staff shift. In addition, it results in neglected citizens complaints as it leaves the officers little ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wikipedia simple definition of innovation is to renew or change. The Shorter Oxford Dictionary (cited in Hayes, 2002) defines change as the substitution or succession of one thing in place of another. Von Stamm (2008, p. 1) posits that creativity and innovation are [often] used interchangeably. Von Stamm (2008 p. 2) goes on further to say that creativity is an essential part of innovation. Innovation has been described by Boak citing West et al (2003, p17) as the introduction of new and improved ways of doing things at work and the process of applying ideas, processes, products, or procedures, which are new to the people and places where you are introducing them (Boak 2010). Adair (2007, p. x) ups the ante when he states that innovation calls for a special form of creativity. Adair (2009, p. 17) states to innovate means . . . to bring in or introduce something new. • 35. Ethics, Morality, And Morality Ethics and morality may initially seem to be interchangeable words used to describe a code of conduct that society should follow in order to make informed decisions. However, they are in fact two separate entities that exist as individual codes of conduct, yet share a symbiotic relationship in decision making. Ethicscan be described as the rules of behavior and demeanor as established by society, a certain sociological group of people, or a religion. Consequently, due to the nature of ethics, they can ultimately be viewed as a governing body. This body is recognized by some larger institution greater than oneself, one that someone is obligated to follow as determined by their religion, race, or creed. On the other hand, moralityis an internal trait that is, in due course, solely created by the individual. People may recognize ethics as virtues set by their society or creed, whereas morality regards people determining whether the ethics in their everyday experiences adhere to individual principles and conduct. With this prevalent symbiotic relationship between ethics and morality, one can recognize the vital role that ethics and morality partake in when it comes to decision making. As a result of this relationship, these two qualities become important in areas of operation, such as business, where decisions are often made by one individual for the sake of the greater whole. This approach, also known as utilitarianism, can often lead to questionable ethical and moral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Gender And Gender Aspects Of Gender In Everyday Life Gender in Everyday Life Shyana Burks Diggins Community College of Aurora Gender in Everyday Life In today s culture, I see gender being a person s master status. In most aspects of my life, I notice that gender overrides other statuses such as my race or occupation. I believe gender does this because of the way it is instilled in every social institution. I imagine it is hard to inquire about my experiences without it coming from a woman s perspective. It s not what it means to be college educated, but what does it mean to be a college educated woman, and not what does it mean to be black, but what does it mean to be a black woman. Parenthood is near impossible to be understood without seeing it through a gender experience. Although gender is a social construction, it dictates individuals in a way that I cannot imagine any other social concept could. As I recorded my actions throughout the day, I realized that there are a lot of them that are dictated by my gender. I recorded over 50 actions and I am sure that I could have recorded differently depending on the kind of day. I recorded around 10 15 actions just from the daily aspect of getting ready and clothing. For example, I thought I chose my clothing depending on how I felt that day, but I realized small things like my choice of underwear was never of my volition. Depending on the kind of pants I wore, I wanted to avoid a panty line not only for fashion s sake but because that will affect future interactions with the other sex. With my experience, I see that men pick the underwear that will suit their comfort level, like if they want to wear briefs for exercising or boxers for a less active setting. Some of my actions I instantly knew were gendered, like my application of makeup to uphold a feminine standard or even the change of inflection of my voice when I talk to customers on the phone. As a woman and a consumer, I know that when I speak to a representative about an issue I expect empathy. A representative conveys that through smiling through the phone . Supervisors and trainers at my job admit that this trait is better accomplished by women because if we sound any other way we sound off putting and ingenuine. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. The Geographic Landscape Of The African Continent When it comes to discussing the geographic landscape of the African continent people are quick to overlook the important role that soil has played in the development of cultures and civilizations in Africa because it can be so easily overshadowed by Africa s other geographic features such as its rivers, mountains, deserts andgrasslands. However, to ignore soilis undoubtedly a mistake because African soils cannot be separated from African history (Showers 118). Soils are literally the foundation of life, used for farming, building houses, making pottery, and mined for their mineral deposits. They are in themselves, historical bodies and they have interacted with human history since its beginning. (Showers 118). While looking for information on the soil of Africait is not uncommon to find descriptions such as African soils are indeed poor (Bohannan 23) while being presented with the seemingly paradoxical fact that By far the greatest number of Africans are farmers. (Bohannan 43). This paper will examine how it is possible for Africa to be a continent consisting of such poor soil yet be full of such a rich history of farming that persists into present day. It will explore the general characteristics of African soil, how humans have historically interacted with soil, and the way that outsiders have used generalizations about Africa s soil to perpetuate Western misconceptions. When attempting to gain insight into the general characteristics of African soil it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Endocrine Disruptors Essay Endocrine Disruptors During recent years, numerous newspaper and magazine articles have suggested that humans may be at risk because small amounts of well known environmental contaminants, such as dioxin, PCBs and DDT, can affect hormone levels. Hormones are produced by the endocrine system as regulators of biological function in target organs. Because hormones play a critical role in early development, toxicological effects on the endocrine system often have an impact on the reproductive system. The term endocrine disruptor is used to describe chemicals that can mimic hormones and may either enhance or counteract their effects. It has been suggested that these hormone changes can, in turn, lead to a variety of health problems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fry and Toone (1986) found when they inject fertilised seabird eggs with DDT and its metabolites. The male chicks produced have varying degrees of intersexuality depending on dosage, reproductive system with both male and female structures. The female chicks had a partial to full developed right oviducts, instead of just left functional structures. In the area where the eggs were collected, there was multiple female female pairing and low hatchability of eggs. Males exposed as embryos to estrogenic pesticides showed decreased to no sexual behaviour. (Fry and Toone, 1981) Louis Guillette noticed that male alligators from Lake Apopka in Florida have vestigial penis, follicle like testis and elevated estrogens/testosterone ratios and the female hatching s ovaries were producing multiple egg follicles and eggs with several nuclei (Luoma, 1995, Guillette et al., 1995) The females also had above normal estrogens levels. When he and his colleagues did a similar injection study with DDT and DDE, they produced results similar to those found in the field. The reduction in penis length and the abnormal gonads made the hatchlings reproductively incapable. Both the bird and alligator studies were prompted by the contamination of large water bodies by organochlorins and the low breeding success of the animals living and feeding in these areas. Of particular interest are those chemicals, which mimic the female hormone of estrogen, which is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
