My interest in learning English is due to the fact that I have always liked to challenge myself.
Even though many of my friends and family warned me from majoring in English, as it would
be difficult for me, I have accepted the challenge. I have always felt that learning English would
increase myself confidence and have people around me impressed. This interest has also grown
through my passion in learning about languages, cultures, and traditions. Where I come from,
Saudi Arabia, a big number of people came from different countries and spoke different
languages. I have realized that English could be a means to interact with a lot of people speaking
different languages. I have also realized that English is the lingua franca of today s world with no

First, I wanted a career where I can be satisfied both intellectually and financially. Second, in
academia intelligent, motivated and stimulating individuals, who in turn, would motivate me and
shape my thoughts, goals and research, would surround me. In addition, I would have the
opportunity to interact with leading professionals in my field. Also, the journey towards learning
and discovery never ends in academia. Not mention, my high GPA which made me eligible for

out applications, making interviews, and travelling around Saudi Arabia, I received a phone call

In this day and age, technology takes center stage. Temple College students understand this well,
considering nearly all school assignments require access to a computer and the internet. This need
for technology prompts a vast majority of students to take advantage of the computers provided by
the school. However, these students are forced to maneuver around blocked websites and other
internetrestrictions put in place by T.C. Temple College students should have access to all websites
when they are using T.C. computers on the grounds that students are mature, they are paying for
access, and restricted access to the internet limits students resources. College students are mature
enough to have access to the full, uncensored internet. Society expects young adults, more
specifically college students, to manage their own lives and time. If they fail to do so, it is their
own fault. If they choose to slack off and browse the internet instead of writing a paper, then they

When college students pay tuition, they are paying not only for their classes, but for the resources
that the school offers; this includes access to school libraries, tutors, and, yes, school computers.
By limiting students access to school computers, school administrators are essentially ripping
college students off. Many would counter this statement with claims that colleges have the right to
block any website that they desire to, and this is correct, however, by including the cost of these
resources in with the cost of tuition, college officials are not being reasonable. Students pay a full

engendering significant public concern. As long as the most significant fear was a speeding
ticket in the low three figures, the technology of mounting a moving or stationary camera with

Jim Thorpe Biography
James Francis Thorpe was born in Prague, Oklahoma. His parents were Hiran P. Thorpe and
Charlotte View. He was given the name Wa Ho Thuck by his mother, which meant bright path.
Thorpe had Sac, Fox, and Potawatomi Indian bloodlines, as well as French and Irish roots. In
1913, he married his college girlfriend, Iva Miller. They had four children together before they
divorced in 1925. Thorpe remarried to Freeda Kirkpatrick in 1925. They had three children
together before they divorce in 1941 due to Jim Thorpe s alcohol addiction.
Jim Thorpe s peak of career came early in life. In 1912, he was named to the U.S. Olympic team for
the Olympic Games in Stockholm, Sweden. He won a gold medal in the pentathlon by winning
four out of the five events. A week later, he won another gold medal in the decathlon. Thorpe beat
the runner up be almost 700 points, despite wearing a pair of mismatched shoes. Gustaf V, the

Museum Essay In the following essay, I will look at 2 works of art: If I Knew What I Knew
Then and The Last Judgement Triptych. I will describe all the details I see in the paintings and
come up with a conclusion of what the artist was trying to accomplish, and then conducting
research to combine my thoughts with the actual meaning of the artwork. After researching, I will
determine if the artist was successful in what I found they tried to accomplish in this artwork. The
first five minutes I spent staring at the artwork, all I saw were lines, figures, and colors. Two hours

contains very light pastel colors. The left side, where the shadow so happens to be located, has
darker colors such as black, gray, dark blues and small amounts of red. The right side, where the

The arc in her back gives the sensation of vulnerability. My first explanation for this artwork is
that the artist is showing a woman reflecting on her past and not being happy with what she has
done. Her shadow or her decisions are haunting her present life. With the white gown, I can make
the assumption that she is getting married and is looking at her past, maybe reminiscing on
about another lover. She could have been young and in love. Made a couple of wrong decisions
and was heartbroken. She is now afraid to love again but knows that she has a brighter future
ahead of her which is why there appears to be light coming from the windows direction. The
small women figure in the center of the painting could be a symbolization of her not wanting to

the feeding habits of the Cordylophora carefully. While observing the feeding, I focused on one
particular hydranth with 18 tentacles that captured and ingested 8 Artemia. Meanwhile, a
hydranth of similar size with 15 tentacles caught no brine shrimp, even though many passed by it
