The Perception Of The Human Brain s Brain
The significance of this video s phenomenon is that it assists people learn what kinds of conduct
can help protect themselves to acceptably fit in their civilization making them into, instinctive
copycats and for a really good reason: survival... as deep in the brain...we got special cells known
as mirror neurons (H. C. Sinclair, 2013). It also relates to current human behavior for the reason
that it echoes the modeling or imitation behavior executed by children and adolescents. For
example, individuals that are into Football will get worked up from just watching it due to
similarly reacting to the responses of the actual audience at the game. The reason as to why is
because of the outcome of the human brains premotor cortex initiating its mirror neurons via trying
to mentally mimicking the same movements communicated by their facial expressions. Ultimately,
the simulation of these neurons on a cellular level is fundamental for humans to effectively
comprehend the feelings of others or empathize that can straightforwardly be influenced without
their knowledge such as the case of advertisers that earn millions each year from making use of this
unique wiring to their advantage.

Why Is Jack D Ripper Important
Jack D. Ripper is important, because he is the person who gives the orders and the soldiers
would not know what to do without him. He is instructive, bossy, and he tells Mandrake what to
do with very specific instructions. He is the air force commander and he is the go to guy if no
one wants to do the things he does. He gives orders and makes sure men know what they are
doing. His leadershipmakes him a symbol, and he is a metaphor for control because no one else
has guts to give instructions like he does. Therefore, Jack D Ripper is important, because he is the

This character is very important, because he is the person who gives the orders and the soldiers
would not know what to do without him because he is instructive, bossy, and he tells Mandrake
what to do with very specific instructions. Things can be done his way or no way at all, because
he is in charge of everybody. Many of the soldiers and people around him are scared of him since
he is such an intimidating man. He has a lot of experience with war, so he knows how to handle it.

The Hybrid Fiber Wireless Networks
II. Related work
The hybrid Fiber Wireless networks are the combination of both optical back end and wireless front
end. The commercial deployment of FiWi access networks faces a number of challenges including
network deployment [5 7], network routing [8 12], frame aggregation [13],[14] and bandwidth
allocation. The main focus of this paper is on the bandwidth allocation process where network
resources are shared between the users on the same network. This process manages the distribution
of available bandwidth in terms of Bytes, timeslots, channels, sub channels and subcarriers to the
users. Bandwidth allocation algorithms could be static/fixed or dynamic bandwidth allocation
algorithms (DBA). The static algorithms distribute bandwidth equally between users in the same
network. These algorithms suffer from inefficient utilization of bandwidth thus degrading the
network performance. Therefore, researches on DBA algorithms have gained many researchers
attention in FiWi networks.
Several dynamic bandwidth allocation techniques have been proposed in the research community
adopted on different FiWi networks architectures, which combine different technologies of optical
and wireless networks.
The integration of both EPON and WiMAX technologies has been emerged a possible architecture
to properly deploy FiWi networks. Several DBA algorithms have been examined considering the
MAC integration of both EPON and WiMAX. In [15], a QoS based DBA algorithm combined with

Role Of Women In Frankenstein
The Temperament of the Natural Role of Women in Frankenstein The scientific advances in
Frankenstein led to disastrous consequences, but on a more biological level than one would think.
The author, Mary Shelley was a woman born in Somers Town, London, in 1797. She was raised by
her father William Godwin, who was a writer and philosopher. When she wrote Frankenstein,
Shelley portrays a determined, male character, Victor Frankenstein as an obsessed scientist who
creates a so called monster out of various body parts he dug up out of a graveyard. The reason for
the description, so called monster is because a true monster is evil, inhumane, and lacks remorse. In
addition to this, the stigma around appearance being sociated with monster like... Show more

It s important to realize that Frankenstein s nineteenth century is founded on the division of
gender roles: the male inhabits the public sphere, the female is relegated to domestic sphere. For
example, the men in all work outside the home, as public servants, scientists, merchants, or
explorers. Also, the women are confined to the home; Elizabeth, for instance, is not permitted to
travel with Victor. Interestingly, this is the reason why his wife wasn t involved with the idea of
this experiment. Throughout the novel, intellectual activity is segregated from emotional
activity. With this in mind, Victor Frankenstein cannot do scientific research and think lovingly
of Elizabeth and his family at the same time. While working on his experiment, he states to
forget those friends who were so many miles absent, and whom I had not seen for so long a
time, ( Shelley 50) which means he became disconnected from his relationships. This directly to
his downfall because Frankenstein cannot work and love at the same time. This results in him
failing to feel empathy for the creature. The reason for this is because being in isolation for so
long, he starts to lose his sense of humility. By not maintaining a loving relationship with his wife,
he lost his reason to show compassion. Also, he fails to love or feel any parental responsibility. As
a matter of fact, Frankenstein manages to eliminate the biological role of women, but didn t fulfill
the motherly aspect. He fails to raise the monster as a mother would raise a child. The reason for
this is because he created the monster for his own personal gain. Women, on the other hand, give
birth with the intention to nurture and raising a life. By eliminating the biological role of women,
but not fulfilling the motherly aspect, it results in the monster seeking revenge on his creator,

Sara Bareilles Research Paper
Often overlooked and not properly recognized, singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles is a vocal
sensation and musical mastermind. Stunning live audiences with her rare ability to sound better on
stage than in the recording studio, she brings every ounce of emotion, from hitting rock bottom or
having a terrible heartbreak to becoming comfortable and proud of oneself, to every performance.
Bareilles was born and raised in Eureka, California and attended University of California, Los
Angeles before entering the musicindustry. She grew up in a family that loved and valued musical
theater and wanted to become a performer herself; however, she feared that she would not find a
break and would be working as a waitress her whole life to support a dream. After graduation, she

Bareilles was born for the stage; her shows involve and engage the audience as well as strategically
approach specific tracks to make listeners race with unknown feelings. On top of that, she delivers
her unrelenting, heartfelt lyrics with possibly the strongest vocal range in the music industry. It is
hard to imagine someone with the songwriting ability and raw vocal talent she possesses going
unnoticed. Despite unrivaled skill though, she has a rather low profile among today s musicians,
partially attesting to the fact that the majority of the music industry relies on danceable electronic
beats, auto tune, and body image for popularity and success. Bareilles stands out in the music
industry by doing the exact opposite. The singer/songwriter keeps a low profile on social media
and keeps her personal life out of the public domain. Additionally,

Short Essay On Boudicca
Boudicca is one of Britain s greatest heroines. She was a freedom fighter who rebelled against the
Roman government. She was Queen to the Celts and was one of history s fiercest warrior queens
in history.
Boudicca was a famous queen of ancient Britain who led a rebellion against the Roman
occupiers. She was born in Colchester, South East England in 30 AD. Before marrying into
kingship she was a simple girl of royal descent. Around CE 48, she married Prasutagus, the head of
an Iceni tribe in south East England. Boudicca and her husband lived in what is now known as
Norfolk, England. They were granted semi independence from the Roman occupiers. Prasutagus
was given the freedom to remain King of Iceni, but under the control of Rome. Even though ...

The Roman commander on the island, Gaius Suetonius Paulinus, amassed all the man power that
was available to him, numbering only 10,000 men. Even though Paulinus was heavily
outnumbered, he did have several advantages. His legionaries were well trained, properly
equipped with weaponry and military experience gained throughout other battles. The Roman
military was skilled at open combat due to their superior discipline and resources. The limited
maneuverability of the British forces, combined with lack of military offensive tactics in the field,
put them at a disadvantage to the Romans. Historians note that many of the rebels had no body
armor and were provided with makeshift weapons, such as simple agricultural tools. Suetonius
strategically selected a narrow gorge with a forest behind him, opening out into a wide plain. The
gorge would serve as protection to the Roman flanks from attack, whilst the forest would block
approach from the rear. This also prevented Boudicca from bringing considerable forces to bear on
the Roman position, and the open plain in front made ambushes impossible. Before the battle
began, Suetonius and the Romans had strategically gathered on a rocky landscape that offered good
protection, forcing Briton troops to charge uphill. When the Britons reached the top of the hill they
were out of breath and tactically vulnerable. The Romans saw their chance and

The Tragedy Of Nero And The Great Fire Of Rome
Nero and the Great Fire of Rome Tragedy is well documented throughout history, yet we still
struggle to determine the cause of one the of the greatest tragedies of the ancient world: the great
fire of Rome. Very few written accounts exist from the time of the fire so it has been incredibly
hard for historians to find the true cause of the blaze that destroyed more than half the city in 64
A.D.. Fingers have been pointed at simple things like the weather or hooligans, at several unpopular
religious sects including christians, and at several high powered officials or merchants seeking to
knock out competition. But the most controversial and most debated cause is Emperor Neros
involvement in setting the fire and killing thousands of his own people to achieve his own selfish
goals.
Nero was well known for being ruthless and unorthodox during his whole life and especially in the
time that he held power in Rome. Since he first took power he made it clear he wanted to rebuild
the majority of the city, and ultimately he achieved this goal but he did so in a subversive and
rather horrific way. In order for Nero to build his golden house and dream city around it much of
Rome would need to be destroyed first, it was for that very reason the senate rejected his request
to build. Nero refused to take no for an answer, he would stop at nothing to get his way, even if it
cost the lives he swore to protect as emperor. The Emperor himself set the fire so he could build
where the senate

Margaret Edson. Wit centers on Vivian s journey after learning she has ovarian cancer. As the
story progresses, Vivian s characters grows and changes with each passing moment. Edson does a
magnificent job of displaying this character development through Vivian s actions and dialogue.
The play opens with Vivian speaking directly to the audience. As she explains her situation, the

articulate, well educated, straight forward woman. She does not sugar coat anything, especially her

lighthearted, even sharing a laugh here and there, and develops a close relationship with her
nurse, Susie. After consciously having no visitors, Dr. Ashford comes to see her. It is revealed
through flashback that Dr. E.M. Ashford is the one person who Vivian regards with the upmost
care and respect. She is a former professor of Vivian s, who was very tough on her. Vivian feels
as though she helped turn her into the scholar she is today. Her close connection with the
professor is apparent when Dr. Ashford becomes her only visitor. By the time she arrives, Vivian
is not her former self. She is extremely sick, and very weak. Vivian tells Dr. Ashford that she
feels so bad and then she begins to cry (1122). Dr. Ashford comforts her, and begins to read a
children s book to Vivian in an attempt to calm her. Through this she manages to lull Vivian

Essay On Texting And Driving
Making it illegal to use a hand held cell phone while driving is a smart and safe idea. Using a cell
phone while driving is distracting and dangerous, bringing damage to cars, people, relationships,
finances, and much more. Cell phones in this current society have taken over a majority of peoples
attention, having them while drivingis reckless and life threatening. In order to use a cell phone
one must be looking at the screen to know what they are doing. When the driver takes their eyes
off of the road for longer than a second or two then they are automatically in grave danger.
Without looking at the road, someone could easily drive out of their lane and either hit another car

These cell phones are causing accidents therefore, they are indirectly responsible for a plethora
of other problems as well, through the domino effect. For example, if a lady was driving her car
and received a text from her son that he needed gym shoes for school, then she proceeded to text
him back about what time he needed them and suddenly, she loses all focus she had on driving
and turns it towards her phone. Focus lost, she starts to drift towards the inside lane. Without so
much as a warning she has lost her life due to the drifting into the guard rail at 60 miles per hour.
Her phone cost that lady her life; it cost her husband his wife and numerous financial debt for the
car and funeral expenses, not to mention a life time of longing; and depressingly it cost her son
his mother and possibly his chance of going to college easily with their significant financial
decline. Texting, or any other cell phone usage, while driving does not only deprive people of
their money or their loved ones, but relationships too. One guy decides to let his best friend drive
his car to work because his best friend s car is in the shop. The best friend is running late and

Dalida Research Paper
In a career that spanned four decades, 30 years, 1,000 songs, and earned her more than 90 gold
and platinum records, Egyptian born and French residing pop singer Dalida lived a fascinating
and tragic life of celebrity. After her breakout in 1956, Dalida s breathtaking beauty and distinctive
voice made her an instant star, which gave her all the riches and spoils one could hope for, but
amplified her vulnerabilites and weaknesses which fame and success exploited.
Directed by Liza Azuelos (LOL), the film tells the singer s story in a non linear way, beginning
with her lying to her brother in a French airport in 1967, then secretly heading to a Parisian hotel.
She is reeling from the recent suicide of her lover, burgeoning Italian pop singer Luigi Tenco, and
has decided to attempt to take her own life. Not successful, she then is moved to a facility and
doctors bring in those closest to her to learn more about her struggles.
We traverse through her life at a relatively rapid speed, making Dalida a film that quickly becomes
a highlight reel of a subject s life. Born Iolanda Gigliotti, she was bullied and rejected by her peers
in grade school and saw her family persecuted during World War II. Her vocal talents soon emerged
and in her early 20 s she was discovered by radio station magnate Lucien Morisse (NAME). So
taken with one another, Morisse left his wife for Iolanda and began managing her career.
Once stardom begin to swirl around Dalida, her rise is rather meteoric and

Construction Of The Natural Environment
. INTRODUCTION: Nigeria like other developing countries is undergoing rapid growth
accompanied by rapid development pressure with high demand for Housing and Infrastructure as a
result of population growth. In 2000 the United Nation food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)
found that the role of population dynamics in local setting may vary from decisive to negligible
and that deforestation can result from a combination of population pressure and stagnation of
economy, social and technological condition . The present administration of Niger State
Government embarked on mass constructions projects in order to reduce the alarming demands of
housing. This leads to the obliteration of the natural environment Forests are being destroyed for
several reasons, among which are the continued urbanization of the world and thus the need for
construction of roads and buildings. The need for fuel and timber for construction is another
major factor leading to deforestation (Domries and Salati, 1991). However, over half of the
worlds tropical rainforest have already been destroyed, and they are continuing to be destroyed
today (Dowroes 1991). Moreover, the nature of construction in Nigeria has visibly affected the
environment. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in Nigeria is faced with so many
challenges from enforcement of laws governing the necessity of EIA in some projects by relevant
agencies of Government to collation of adequate baseline data and implementation processes of the

architecture of the restaurant involved thick wooden pillars, a wooden ceiling, a smooth wooden

This instance is a unique demonstration of one of the many aspects of Confucianism: collectivism.
Through collectivism A human being is born to be a member not only of a family, but a village and,
in a broader sense, a member of a country. (Nghia 2013:10). I was able to observe the influence of
Confucianism on Vietnamese culture as the manager described why he choose these employees. He
mentioned that the employees were going through the same struggle that [he] went through when
[he] was young... [he] did not speak English very well... . This particular instance allowed me to
better understand ways in which unique Vietnamese values were able to be sustained in Western
Culture. I was surprised initially because I had thought that the restaurant had preserved their
culture physically through their architecture, cooking, and paintings. Instead, this represents an
aspect of Vietnamese culture that one cannot simply understand through physical observation, it
represents a deep rooted sense of integrity that is characteristic of Vietnamese culture. Through this
conversation, I began to better understand how immigrants of a minority population such as
Vietnam, were able to preserve their culture despite it being easier to simply succumb to values
popular in Western culture such as collectivism. Thus far, the concept of Confucianism has served
as an example of how aspects of Vietnamese culture are still present in the Vietnamese descendents

that pump carbon dioxide into the air seem hardly controversial. The controversy is about what

If John goes the large business route, he will be able to raise the franchising cost. This move would
really get Dual Pane s name out there, but there would also be a bigger risk. The quality that Dual
Pane has worked so hard to achieve could potentially be compromised by these larger businesses. It
would also be more difficult to successfully pitch this idea to a huge company and persuade them to
heavily invest in something that would seem small scale to them.
On the other hand, if he markets to small businesses, Dual Pane will more easily be able to keep
its reputation as a quality restoration business. The company likely would not get national
recognition, but it would be easier to franchise to individuals. It would also be easier to manage the
relationships between the franchisor and the franchisees. The main downside to this alternative is
the fact that John would have to charge a much lower price to these franchisees.
Decision
In order to keep its reputation of a small, quality business, Dual Pane will franchise to individuals
in the Massachusetts area. This will, of course, mean that Grayson will have to charge a lower
price for this franchising opportunity, but he will also be able to keep his original vision of being
all about quality. This alternative is much less risky than marketing to large businesses and with the
uniqueness of this machine Dual Pane is practically guaranteed to be a success.

A Clear Midnight By Walt Whitman
The poem A Clear Midnight by Walt Whitman is only one quatrain, yet the poem enacts a threshold
experience. The time of midnight is the transition from one day to the next. Whitman uses this
moment as a metaphor from corporal existence to spiritual existence. Whitman describes this
transition to be clear as nothing is hidden nor feared. Whitman is trying to correspond the inner and
outer world, the physical and spiritual worlds. To achieve this harmony, Whitman seems to address
his soul; the soul being the idea that connects the physical and spiritual world. One may believe that
Whitman wants the poem to be trigger to his soul dwelling in eternity. A Clear Midnight is
contemplative and deals with the vast subject of human s nature to wonder. This poem is a... Show

Whitman is essential judging the deepest part of himself, his soul. The soul is so deep that you
need everything quite and peaceful just to think about it. Whitman is looking at his true self, not
physical but spiritually. Whitman is thinking about his essence, what truly make Whitman who he
is. The theme of A Clear Midnight is the connection between life and spirit and how we understand
that to be. As humans, our knowledge of the spiritual world is limited. All humans know about is
the physical world, how things look and how the work. But, human have the wisdom to
acknowledge that there is a spiritual side. The poem is saying that this spiritual side show our true
self, and how is it is difficult to look into. In A Clear Midnight , everything in the world has to calm
and quite just to even think about this spiritual side. Whitman shows that this spiritual side is hard
to comprehend and understand as physical humans. Yet, this complex side of people means the
most to humans. It shows how you think and why you think it, the true man that you

Rene Descartes Dream Argument
Rene Descartes was a French philosopher and scientist. He is famous for his method of doubt
which is he decided not believe things that are not sure or slightly doubted, he wished to believe
things that cannot be doubted and he knew absolutely certain about these things. So the big goal
for Descartes is to find one foundational belief and one can doubt that everyone who is skeptical
about it will say that is a hundred percent true. And we start build knowledge on it. The
motivation for Descartes method was he found that people always disagree with each other. He
wants us all can agree on this one foundation belief, one central belief then we can resolve this
conflict. Descartes also gave an example to illustrate his opinion: if you have an... Show more

In the text, he said we have to take everything you think you know, everything you think is true
and doubt it. Be skeptical about any claim. If there is any possibility, even it super small chance
that the belief is wrong. We still treated it as entirely false. Because we are looking for a belief
that are a hundred percent certain about. However, there is something we are not sure or slight be
doubt about it, for instance, why two add two equal four. He knew this is truth but he didn t know
why this is true, so he created the demon argument. He said I will suppose not a supremely good
God, the source of truth, but rather an evil genius, supremely powerful and clever, who has
directed his entire effort at deceiving me. I understand this argument but we are also not a
hundred percent sure whether there is a evil demon actually exist or not. Besides, if Descartes
ignore everything he is not sure about it, he may also ignore some truth even if it s not with
absolutely certainty. In the world, there will always be something we can t explain. So just
because we can t prove it, doesn t mean it s totally false. The danger if his method of doubt is he
may miss some truths. I also have some concerns about Descartes Cogito, he said what makes us
human is our minds. And my question is does it mean we are not human if we don t have our
mind? I don t think it make

A. 1 Describe Market Segmentation
Part A 1 Describe Market Segmentation
Market Segmentation was introduced by Wendall Smith (Smith, 1956). Benefits of market
segmentation include a better and fuller understanding of the market, the ability to predict customer
behaviour with more accuracy and an increased chance of detecting potential market opportunities
(Kotler and Cox, 1988).
The total market is perceived to be made up of several smaller segments, each segment in some way
different from the other. This enables businesses to identify which segments are appealing to them
and they can then profitably target their products and services to these customer segments through
their marketing (Meyer and Graham, 2015)
Similarly (Tynan and Drayton, 1987) states that the aim of market segmentation is to identify
market segments, or individual sets of customers, which would form targets for the company s
future marketing plans. The elements used to separate customers into segments can include: age,
gender, occupation, income, life stage, amongst others. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Basketball has been around since 1891 it has seen a lot of improvements and some flaws, but
with its flaws basketball is a great sport. The game has grown from a sport with just a few teams
in the northeast to a nationwide sport with thirty NBA teams in almost all states and one in
Canada. Basketball has also grown in paying wise, from the original $2.50 for home games and
$1.50 for road game to the now league minimum of $507,336 for players who have not been in
the NBA for ten years to $1,448,490 for those who have been playing for ten years. Basketball
also saw in less then 100 years Juwan Howard get offers from the bullets and heat for $100

been the most expensive player, but he was far from a star. The NBA s first star was Walt
Chamberlain from UCLA later being joined by future star Bill Russell from San Francisco
University. Walt and Bill would open up the door for future superstars like Michael Jordan,
Irving (magic) Johnson, and Nate Archibald. Players like Michael, Magic, and Nate would open

moment, it can escalate fast. Terrible things happen to everyone, even those who don t seem to

outweigh the prize. I decided to do my paper on Job because I find Job s life similar to mine. There
is times in my life that I don t understand what Godis doing, times I ve asked what I ve done to

I let my teenage angst get the best of me sometimes and call them the worst , and sometimes, even
today, I don t understand why they ve told me no . However, they are still my parents and no
matter if I think they are right or wrong, they will always have authority over me and I have to
respect that.
In the Zondervan bible study of Job, Garland talks about Job s first responses to God s
questionings. David Garland writes, He was of small account that is, he had by his actions
manifested an attitude which was contemptible. (Garland,97) Job had an attitude that s similar to
our when we don t understand what God is doing in our lives. He felt like a coward the moment
that he gave up but he also used that moment when he was feeling low to let God speak to him.
Job recognized God had all authority and Job had to listen.
In this passage, Job taught us to listen to the Lord despite our hurt or our belief that something is
possible. This means that we have to trust in the Lord that his will for our lives will be done.
Because we have to trust Gods authority over our lives, we also have to trust God s love for our
lives. In the book, How to read Job, the authors write,
One of the ways we trust God s wisdom is by refraining from inquiring why God did such a thing
to us, or why he allowed it to happen. (Walton, 136)
The first step to knowing that God loves us is to not get caught up in the pain of our suffering,

The Concept Of Learning Process
3.LEARNING PROCESS APPROACH
David Korten stated the concept of learning process in 1980. According to him, the process of
learning is continuous and involved not only planners and implementers, but rural people. The goal
of this approach is to develop capabilities through developing ideas, for making decisions and
creating continual innovations. The process includes the areas of technology and organization or
even a mix of both. The learning process serves an alternative to the blueprint approach, taking into
account the particular context of the project. (Krishna et al., 1998)
The possibility of embracing error is another particular characteristic of this approach. The use of
small scale projects generates a substantive knowledge about the factors of success and the elements
to improve in any stage of the development programs. For completing this process, the individuals
in the project must document the findings and develop a structured system of learning which
would be the base for building the local capabilities. This usually explains the tendency to slowly
start the programs which use the learning process approach.
The local capabilities construction becomes the main resource for the sustainability of the project
through the development of the self reliance. The projects of development usually include an
assisted process for generating this condition of self reliance. Individuals in rural communities
should understand that they are responsible for their resources and

Action Potential Essay
RESTING POTENTIAL
Resting potential is the membrane potential when a neuron is not conducting any electrical impulse
or signal. The resting potential is around 75 mV. During resting potential, the inside of the axon is

GRADED POTENTIAL
ACTION POTENTIAL
Action potential is a fleeting reversal of the membrane potential, caused by changes in permeability
of the plasma membrane of neuron to potassium and sodium ions causing an electrical impulse to
be transmitted along the axon.
When a stimulus depolarizes the membrane, a few of the voltage gated sodium channels that are
found in the neuronal plasma membrane open permitting sodium ions to pass through. Since there

This is called temporary hyperpolarisation. The potassium channels then close, and the sodium
potassium pump begin to act again, restoring the normal/original distribution of sodium and
potassium ions across the membrane, and therefore restoring the resting potential. This process
takes time. THE REFRACTORY PERIOD Refractory period is the period of time during which a
neuron is recovering from an action potential, and during which another action potential cannot be
generated. At this period, the voltage gated sodium channels are still firmly closed (or temporary
inactivated) and the membrane cannot produce an action potential, regardless of the stimulation.
CONDUCTION/PROPAGATION/TRANSMISSION OF ACTION POTENTIAL An action
potential at any point along an axon s plasma membrane triggers the production of an action
potential in the membrane on either side of it. During the action potential, sodium ions enter a
point on the axon. The temporary depolarization of the membrane where the action potential is
causes a local circuit to be set between the depolarized region and the resting regions on either side
of it. Sodium ions flow sideways inside the axon, away from the positively charged region towards
the negatively charged regions on either side. This depolarizes these adjoining regions and so
generates During the action potential, sodium ions enter

How Religion Is Affecting The Rights Of Women
84 percent of the world population has faith and identify themselves as religious, that is nearly
5.8 billion adults and children. Religion plays a major role in our world; it affects people
positively and negatively causing conflict. In this report I will be writing about how religion is
affecting and changing the world positively and negatively. I will be focusing on three major
religions; Hinduism, Islamand Sikhism. Hinduism is the 3rd largest religion in the world with
more than 900 million followers worldwide, Islam is the 2nd largest religion in the world after
Christianity with more than 1.7 billion followers and Sikhism is the 5th largest religion in the
world with more than 25 million followers. My focus will also be on how religion is affecting the
rights of women. My research and sources will help me answer the questions on my topic.
Positive Impacts of Religions:
Hinduism: Hinduism has impacted the world quite positively, those who follow the religion find it
very peaceful and calm because it preaches peace. Even those who don t practise the religion they
do yoga and meditation to help them calm the body and mind and create peaceful atmosphere.
Hinduism is full of many men and women who have created amazing philosophies and ideas and
one of whom is Gandhi. Gandhi a Hindu leader in the early 20th century who taught equality, love,
respect and tolerance.
Islam: Islam is often seen as a hatred and bad religion by many people because of war and terrorism.

Why Women Stay In Violent Relationships Essay
In every nation, individuals have seen or experienced violent relationships at some point in their
lives. Some people even have a pattern of being trapped in violent relationships. Usually, this
individuals that are caught in a love and war relationship are sometimes reluctant to leave. There are
many reasons for this social phenomenon that constantly occurs in violent relationships. According
to Seccombe, Intimate partner violence(IPV) refers to violence between those who are emotionally
or sexually intimate, such as spouses, partners, or those who are dating (264). It seems that has two
people date, their connections begin to blossom as time goes on. Soon after, they decide to be in a

Sociologist have even wondered, A common question is why women stay in an abusive situation
(271). Even though studies show that most of them do leave after a certain amount of time. It
seems there are many factors that keep men and women staying in violent relationships.
Seccombe lists many of them that are still relevant today. One of the tactics that abusers will use
is the shaming tactic. They will shame their victims or in this case, their intimate partners by
blaming them for everything. The abuser will blame their intimate partner for the reasons why
the abuser is hitting them in the first place. As crazy as it sounds, but this is very common in the
psychological process of abusers. Another reason why individuals stay in violent relationships is
due to the fact that the victims feel ashamed. In the psychological process, they feel people will
judge them and look down on them. Plus, they are aware that they are plenty of people who do not
have violent relationships so they do not want people knowing about their own violent relationship.
Then, it does not help that the victim s self esteem are usually low since the abuser has made them
believe that they do not deserve a positive happy

Job satisfaction is one of the most frequently measured organization variables. Organizations use
these measurements to determine how satisfied their employees are and researchers use this
information to determine if the job satisfaction or the lack of job satisfaction is a situational
perspective or interactional perspective. Organizational commitment is critical to organizations
due to the desire to retain a strong workforce. Organizations want to know why employees stay or
leave their organizations so if correction is needed they have some tools to proceed with the
correction. High turnover of employees in an organization can determine if an organization is
successful or not. While turnover is related to all three areas of commitment researchers have
determined that Affective commitment is one most associated with absenteeism and organizational
citizenship (Williams J. 2004). Example on Organizational Commitment to Positively Impact Job
Satisfaction At times employees go to work each day knowing they have to complete the daily
task of doing so. Some individuals may not like their current job or what occupation they currently
hold for one reason or another. At times, it may not be the fact they may not like their job, but the
working conditions, policies or even the people they make work with. Job satisfaction and
organizational commitment are two of the most important roles people live with each and every day.

The print portrays a man and a woman under a futon, assumedly intimately. The soft colors of
pink and green of their clothes and of the mattress on them further affirm the softness of the piece;
they are lovers. Although the man s attire contrasts with that of the woman, it is difficult to
discern where their bodies apart. Just like how the futon is both green and pink like the man and
woman s robes respectively, the piece is supposed to indicate a romantic union between the two.
The patterns on the futon and robe help add dimension to the print, which would later be reprinted
for the consumption of the merchant class in the Tokugawa period. It is particularly important to
note how Utamaro portrays the woman; women by Utamaro not only had an idealized form with
slender features, but she barely resembles the common woman of the period with her impossible
proportions. In direct contrast with the realism movement and their aspiration in portraying people
the way they truly are, Utamaro s depiction of women and romance are dreamily hedonistic just
like many Vogue editorials. Lovers under a Futon is truly romantic, with a sense of equality
between the two people; she is not there to serve him or vice versa. Instead, the couple is both

Block Nested Loop Join
1. Abstract:
The project deals with the Block Nested loop Join operation on given relations. In the project, we
used Adventure Works databaseto demonstrate the results. We observed the execution of the
block nested loop Join. The project also takes into account the technical details of each relations,
for example, what is the tuple size of the relation, what are the total number of blocks allocated
for each relation, what are the number of tuples per block and so on. The algorithm for the Join
are detailed and explored. Also for the algorithm, the best, the worst case is being elaborated.
Further, even the available memory size, allocated memory size, are taken into account while
retrieving the tuples from the relations. The number of Block transfers, and number of I/O seeks
required for each relation are calculated. Finally, these time of each relation in the algorithm are
compared to determine the role of tuples in Block Nested loop join.
2. Implementation:
For the implementation purpose, Adventure Works is used as the database and Java is used for

The Kingdom Of God from Mark s Gospel Essay
The Kingdom Of God from Mark s Gospel
In Mark s Gospel there are six parables that relate to the kingdom of God. The parable of the Seed
Growing secretly (4:26 29), The Parable of the Sower (4:1 9, 13 20), The Parable of the Lamp (4:21
25, The Parable of the Mustard Seed (4:30 34), Jesus and the Children (10:13 19), The Rich Man
(10:17 27) and The Greatest Commandment (12:28 34). In each of the parables there is a simple
meaning behind each of them. The meaning behind them is not explained and is left for the reader
to work out and understand.

The responsive hearer, (the fourth soil) this soil hears the word of God and understands it; they
bear the fruits of life and have a lot of faith in their life. To enter the Kingdom of Goda person has
to ensure that they let God work in their lives, this becomes apparent in the Parable of the Sower.
This parable highlights that it is important for people to concentrate, understand and live by the
word of God, as much as they can, so that they will be accepted into the Kingdom of God.
The Rich Man (Mark 10:17 27). Jesus was asked by the man, what must I do to inherit eternal
life? Jesus then said that he must live by the Ten Commandments. Jesus then told the man to sell
everything he has and give the money to the poor, the man then goes away every upset because he
has great wealth. Jesus sees being rich as being an obstacle for entry into the Kingdom of God.
This parable highlights the importance of putting God first, and doing exactly what he says, if you
want to be accepted into the kingdom of God.
The Parable of the Lamp (Mark 4:21 25). Jesus tells the disciples to not hide their faith, not to be
ashamed of what God has given them, and to use talents to the best of their abilities. By using
talents, we may be encouraging others around us. By encouraging others we are helping to build
the Kingdom of God.

The Uncanny In Alfred Hitchcock s Vertigo
In The Uncanny, Freud discusses the different definitions and claims that various theorists have
made regarding the feeling of uncanny. He defines the different factors that provoke the uncanny in
humans and demonstrates how these factors elicit that strange and seemingly inexplicable feeling.
Similarly, in Vertigo, Alfred Hitchcock, adopts the various factors that cause the uncanny to alter
Scottie s identity and beliefs. Ultimately, when Scottie is transformed from a rational being to a
psychotic obsessive, it serves to indicate the severity of Scottie s mental instability and his
detachment from reality.
In Vertigo, Hitchcock begins with building credibility and composure in Scottie s character. The
film starts off with a chasing scene in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The camera cuts to a close up shot showing viewers Scottie s facial expression, which indicates
distress and agony. The tone of the frame begins to change colors. It begins with a cool color and
then alternates between colors of opposite temperatures. As Scottie opens his eyes, the camera
cuts to an identical bouquet of flowers, which is one of the defining objects that both Madeline
and Carlotta had. Now that the two are both dead, the reappearance of the flower, which serves
as an indication of either Carlotta s or Madeline s presence, bears an uncanny aura as Scottie and
the viewers are well aware of their deaths. As seen in his facial expression right before the
camera cuts to the image of the flower, the image haunts him by suggesting the imminent return
of the two dead souls. The screen continues to alternate its colors as the flower decomposes until
we see Carlotta standing beside Elster. At first, we only see the silhouette of a man and a woman
but as the color of the frame switches, Elster can be seen more clearly with a woman beside him.
After the camera cuts to a close up of Carlotta s necklace, the woman beside Elster can be

High School Near Future Research
High School is a completely different compared to middle school. For the first time ever, your
going to have to think about your future and what will be the best thing for you in the long run.
Some of you already have an idea of what you see yourself doing in the future, but the rest of you
may not have a clue what you want to be. When I was in your position, I was repeatedly asked
What do you want to be in the future. I always responded back that I was not sure yet. However,
I was trying to completely avoid that topic as I didn t want to worry about any of that stuff. To
this day I m not 100% sure what I want to be as I believe that all the puzzles will join together in
the near future.
To be successful in high school, you do not have to have everything planned out, but you should
have at least a small idea of what you are going to do. This will be completely up to you as you
have to chose what you like the most or in other words what makes you happy. If you want to
join a club or a specific class, go ahead if it truly makes you happy, but with that being said, do
not join anything in which you are forced to as it has to come naturally to you. I never had a
problem with this, however; I have seen many people that have taken that path and they are ... Show

In the future, you are not going to want to remember any high school experience because the only
thing you are going to think of is all the stress that you had. Nonetheless, if you truly feel like
you can handle it and want to try it, I encourage you to do it. You do not have to be a full IB or
AP student to succeed as I ve seen countless of CP students join extremely good colleges. My
recommendation would be to have one or two advanced classes, most preferably your core classes,
in order to find the right balance between school and your personal

The First Generation Of The Family
Mike had given a speech to Bodnar about the hardships that the men went through in the mills.
He wondered if God had put him on his earth was to be worked in the furnaces. Once I used to ask
myself, Is this what the good God put me on earth for, to work my life away in Carnegie s blast
furnaces, to live and die in Braddock s alleys? I couldn t believe it. Now I know that God had
nothing to do with it. Chance rules the world (Bell, 197). Mike felt everyone should lovethe job
they work in and shouldn t feel as if they re not appreciated. I don t mind work. But a man should
be allowed to love his work and take pride in it (Bell, 196).
The third generation of the family seemed to be the strongest willed. Mike and Mary s son, Dobie,
did everything George wouldn t do and was against not standing up to anyone. He created the birth
of labor unionism during his time working at the steel mills. It was against the law to join this labor
unionism act. Many of the mills were go into protests about how they were getting treating working
at the mills and they weren t afraid to speak their mind. This interest Dobie that something needed
to be done and he started to met with lawyers and investigators. Eventually he was able to get the
steel corporation to sign a contract to end the hardships with the steel mills. The steel corporation
signed a contract with the S.W.O.C. and the most important job ever undertaken by organized labor
in America ended with victory for the union (Bell,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Analytics
Background
There are two aspects of an analytics i.e. Discovery and Communication. Discovery is all about
identifying patterns in data. Whereas, Communication provide insights in a meaningful way so that
the decisions can be made effectively to increase sales and make company more efficient in terms
of cost or human resource saving.
Broadly, there are two types of Analytics i.e. Business/Cube Analytics and Predictive Analytics.
Business Analytics is a traditional way where historical measures (revenue, profit, loss etc.)
available are extracted, transformed, modeled and stored for analysis. It is about getting insights on
events that already happened. E.g. Year on Year sales report. In the contrary, Predictive analysis
applies data mining and statistics on large volume of data for Forecasting, projecting, and
predicting. E.g. KFC giving combo offer based on prediction of consumer s possible purchase
behavior to increase overall sales. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Amendment Of The United States Constitution
The right to express ones opinions without censorship or restraint can be considered as a basic
provision enshrined in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. To elaborate, the first
amendment to the constitution prohibit the legislative arm of government in making of any law
abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press and prohibiting the
petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances. Post this amendment, there have been
several cases where the Supreme Court has been required to interpret or make a decision to
uphold its provisions. One of such landmark cases is the Hazelwood School District vs Kuhlmeier.
The case involved two articles that were refused publication by a principal in a student newspaper.
One of the articles dealt with the experience of students whose parents are divorce and the other
with teenage pregnancy.
In my view, the Supreme Court decision that restricting free speech is acceptable when the
newspaper is not public is appropriate. First of all, the Students produced the school newspaper as
part of their journalism class. Therefore it cannot be classified as a public newspaper that could
leverage the provisions of the bill of rights. For this reason, the principal in my opinion has the
rights to censor such school sponsored student publications when they have purposes reasonably
related to genuine educational concerns. The educational concerns may be related to the impact of
the articles on teenage

The Payment Card Industry For My Organization
I have chosen the Payment Card Industry for my organization to write about. Mainly because I
work in the industry and know it fits the criteria for security. So I will get down to the name
three major information threats to the Card Service Industries. I got my three major information
security threats form PC World (Bradley, 2015). For the Payment Card Industry I have chosen
Social Engineering, Sophisticated DDoS Attacks, and The Insecurity of Things (Bradley,
2015). due to the access of the ATMs and Credit Card Readers. The first threat is Social
Engineering. The Payment Card Industry is a prime target for Social Engineers because they
can gain larger profits off of the information. With this information a theft can steal larger
amounts of money in a short period. They best defense against Social Engineering is training.
On eSecurity Planet s website by Thor Olavsrud they list 9 Best Defenses Against Social

The Importance Of Attacks During An Emergency
Attacks such as 9/11 and other recent disasters have forced organizations to become more proactive
rather than waiting for an emergency to happen and then responding afterwards which leads to
astronomical costs and fines to companies. The approach to risk management in organizations is
looking more extensively at their technology infrastructure and deciding the best ways to recovery
of data and making sure the employees can still work. Organizations have greater awareness of the
importance of recovery and the time an organization will need to recover. Additionally,
organizations are spending more money on IT and new technologies that will allow employees to

Organizations do need to consider geographic locations when preparing for backup operations or
datacenters. The effects of recovery point objectives (RPO) and recovery time objectives (RTO)
help organizations make decisions such as where they should locate their secondary site and if
it is at enough distance from the primary site to ensure that if a natural disaster takes out one, it
won t take out the other. Ultimately, organizations need to know how fast their critical
operations can be back online before putting the business at serious risk. The recovery point
objective (RPO) is the time files that must be recovered from backup storage for normal
operations to resume if a computer, system, or network goes down because of a hardware,
program, or communications failure (Manning, 2014). The Recovery Time Objective (RTO)
specifies how long an organization will need to recover. Organizations may have multiple RTOs
depending on the data involved. For example, one RTO may specify how long before the major
functions of the enterprise are back on line while a second, longer, RTO will determine how long
until everything is fully recovered. It is an important consideration in disaster recovery planning

Economic Inequality Of The United States
Economic Inequality Paper
Homelessness is one of the main problems plaguing the United States today, with low income
earners at a higher risk of becoming homeless than previous years. There have been countless laws
and ordinances put in place throughout the country in hopes of solving this growing problem but
many of them have failed to address one of the main things causing this issue, economic inequality
and the unequal distribution of wealth in the United States. Although there are many non profit
organizations working not only to get people off the streets, but to prevent them from becoming
homeless in the first place, they are facing an uphill battle until the United States government
addresses its country s current unequal distribution of wealth. Throughout this essay I will be
discussing the strategies multiple non profit organizations, including the one I worked with last
semester, are using in their battle to combat homelessness, the relationship between economic
inequality and homelessness in the United States, and my experiences working with LifeMoves,
formerly known as InnVision Shelter Network.
One of the most popular strategies non profit organizations use to help combat this problem is
offering homeless people temporary shelter. One local non profit organization that offers this
kind of shelter is HomeFirst. The type of shelter HomeFirst offers is called the cold weather shelter
program. This service offers homeless people a warm meal and a safe place to stay

1. Introduction
The significance of language is a broad theme in the Г‡ity of Glass . The detective fiction novel
Г‡ity of Glass written by Paul Auster portrays different concepts of prelapsarian and postlapsarian
language.
Which are revealed through characters, such as Daniel Quinn, Peter Stillman Jr., Peter Stillman Sr.,

Introduction Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder ( ADHD ) is a common childhood
disorder that represents developmentally inappropriate levels of inattention, impulsivity and
overactivity. It occurs in 3% to 5% of the school age population as stated by (Craighead,
Craighead, Kazdin Mahoney, 1994). Another author (Barkley, 1981) stated that ADHD occurs in
at least one child in every classroom. As a result of these statistics, ADHD has become one of the
most commonly referred and heavily studied psychological disorders of childhood. Studies show

Some major causal variables that have been identified are categorised as neurological factors, toxic
reactions, genetic linkages and environmental factors. However, most of the available evidence
found, points to neurological factors, which are imbalances of neurotransmitters in the brain, and
genetic variables as the primary causes of ADHD. The environmental factors and toxic reactions
(such as lead exposure and food additives) are considered very minimal causes of ADHD. The
search for causes of ADHD continues. There are many variables which are biological or thought to
have an affect on biological functioning. Assessment of ADHD An evaluation of a child with
ADHD includes multiple assessment techniques. The main goals of the assessment are: 1. to gather
information about the developmental deviance of ADHD symptoms or other behavioural problems.
2. to rule out other psychiatric, learning or emotional problems that may be causing inattention,
impulsivity, and/or overactivity. 3. to determine the degree of consistency between the sources and
across situations with respect to reports of behaviours associated with ADHD. 4. to identify and
prioritise targets for intervention. Conducting interviews with parents, teachers and the child. To
determine the four factors just mentioned, the following methods are used: 1. Interviews to be

War and Trade In between 1783 1860, the United States had many trade routes. One of the
biggest traders we have partnered with is Europe. We have traded about a value of $50 billion
dollars or more with Europe. Europe and America did not have conflict, there was too much at
stake. Both were making a lot of money off of each other, so if they went to war they would both
most likely lose money.War and trade were overlapping other places possibly because of money
, also because of who is trading with who and what they re trading. Trading agricultural goods and
industrial goods was a good thing, until trade partners started fighting. If trade led to war it had to

The Perception Of The Human Brain s Brain The significance of this video s phenomenon is that it assists people learn what kinds of conduct can help protect themselves to acceptably fit in their civilization making them into, instinctive copycats and for a really good reason: survival... as deep in the brain...we got special cells known as mirror neurons (H. C. Sinclair, 2013). It also relates to current human behavior for the reason that it echoes the modeling or imitation behavior executed by children and adolescents. For example, individuals that are into Football will get worked up from just watching it due to similarly reacting to the responses of the actual audience at the game. The reason as to why is because of the outcome of the human brains premotor cortex initiating its mirror neurons via trying to mentally mimicking the same movements communicated by their facial expressions. Ultimately, the simulation of these neurons on a cellular level is fundamental for humans to effectively comprehend the feelings of others or empathize that can straightforwardly be influenced without their knowledge such as the case of advertisers that earn millions each year from making use of this unique wiring to their advantage. • 4. The Hybrid Fiber Wireless Networks II. Related work The hybrid Fiber Wireless networks are the combination of both optical back end and wireless front end. The commercial deployment of FiWi access networks faces a number of challenges including network deployment [5 7], network routing [8 12], frame aggregation [13],[14] and bandwidth allocation. The main focus of this paper is on the bandwidth allocation process where network resources are shared between the users on the same network. This process manages the distribution of available bandwidth in terms of Bytes, timeslots, channels, sub channels and subcarriers to the users. Bandwidth allocation algorithms could be static/fixed or dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithms (DBA). The static algorithms distribute bandwidth equally between users in the same network. These algorithms suffer from inefficient utilization of bandwidth thus degrading the network performance. Therefore, researches on DBA algorithms have gained many researchers attention in FiWi networks. Several dynamic bandwidth allocation techniques have been proposed in the research community adopted on different FiWi networks architectures, which combine different technologies of optical and wireless networks. The integration of both EPON and WiMAX technologies has been emerged a possible architecture to properly deploy FiWi networks. Several DBA algorithms have been examined considering the MAC integration of both EPON and WiMAX. In [15], a QoS based DBA algorithm combined with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Role Of Women In Frankenstein The Temperament of the Natural Role of Women in Frankenstein The scientific advances in Frankenstein led to disastrous consequences, but on a more biological level than one would think. The author, Mary Shelley was a woman born in Somers Town, London, in 1797. She was raised by her father William Godwin, who was a writer and philosopher. When she wrote Frankenstein, Shelley portrays a determined, male character, Victor Frankenstein as an obsessed scientist who creates a so called monster out of various body parts he dug up out of a graveyard. The reason for the description, so called monster is because a true monster is evil, inhumane, and lacks remorse. In addition to this, the stigma around appearance being sociated with monster like... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s important to realize that Frankenstein s nineteenth century is founded on the division of gender roles: the male inhabits the public sphere, the female is relegated to domestic sphere. For example, the men in all work outside the home, as public servants, scientists, merchants, or explorers. Also, the women are confined to the home; Elizabeth, for instance, is not permitted to travel with Victor. Interestingly, this is the reason why his wife wasn t involved with the idea of this experiment. Throughout the novel, intellectual activity is segregated from emotional activity. With this in mind, Victor Frankenstein cannot do scientific research and think lovingly of Elizabeth and his family at the same time. While working on his experiment, he states to forget those friends who were so many miles absent, and whom I had not seen for so long a time, ( Shelley 50) which means he became disconnected from his relationships. This directly to his downfall because Frankenstein cannot work and love at the same time. This results in him failing to feel empathy for the creature. The reason for this is because being in isolation for so long, he starts to lose his sense of humility. By not maintaining a loving relationship with his wife, he lost his reason to show compassion. Also, he fails to love or feel any parental responsibility. As a matter of fact, Frankenstein manages to eliminate the biological role of women, but didn t fulfill the motherly aspect. He fails to raise the monster as a mother would raise a child. The reason for this is because he created the monster for his own personal gain. Women, on the other hand, give birth with the intention to nurture and raising a life. By eliminating the biological role of women, but not fulfilling the motherly aspect, it results in the monster seeking revenge on his creator, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bareilles was born and raised in Eureka, California and attended University of California, Los Angeles before entering the musicindustry. It is hard to imagine someone with the songwriting ability and raw vocal talent she possesses going unnoticed. Despite unrivaled skill though, she has a rather low profile among today s musicians, partially attesting to the fact that the majority of the music industry relies on danceable electronic beats, auto tune, and body image for popularity and success. • 7. Short Essay On Boudicca Boudicca is one of Britain s greatest heroines. She was a freedom fighter who rebelled against the Roman government. She was Queen to the Celts and was one of history s fiercest warrior queens in history. Boudicca was a famous queen of ancient Britain who led a rebellion against the Roman occupiers. She was born in Colchester, South East England in 30 AD. Before marrying into kingship she was a simple girl of royal descent. Around CE 48, she married Prasutagus, the head of an Iceni tribe in south East England. Boudicca and her husband lived in what is now known as Norfolk, England. They were granted semi independence from the Roman occupiers. Prasutagus was given the freedom to remain King of Iceni, but under the control of Rome. Even though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Roman commander on the island, Gaius Suetonius Paulinus, amassed all the man power that was available to him, numbering only 10,000 men. Even though Paulinus was heavily outnumbered, he did have several advantages. His legionaries were well trained, properly equipped with weaponry and military experience gained throughout other battles. The Roman military was skilled at open combat due to their superior discipline and resources. The limited maneuverability of the British forces, combined with lack of military offensive tactics in the field, put them at a disadvantage to the Romans. Historians note that many of the rebels had no body armor and were provided with makeshift weapons, such as simple agricultural tools. Suetonius strategically selected a narrow gorge with a forest behind him, opening out into a wide plain. The gorge would serve as protection to the Roman flanks from attack, whilst the forest would block approach from the rear. This also prevented Boudicca from bringing considerable forces to bear on the Roman position, and the open plain in front made ambushes impossible. Before the battle began, Suetonius and the Romans had strategically gathered on a rocky landscape that offered good protection, forcing Briton troops to charge uphill. When the Britons reached the top of the hill they were out of breath and tactically vulnerable. The Romans saw their chance and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Tragedy Of Nero And The Great Fire Of Rome Nero and the Great Fire of Rome Tragedy is well documented throughout history, yet we still struggle to determine the cause of one the of the greatest tragedies of the ancient world: the great fire of Rome. Very few written accounts exist from the time of the fire so it has been incredibly hard for historians to find the true cause of the blaze that destroyed more than half the city in 64 A.D.. Fingers have been pointed at simple things like the weather or hooligans, at several unpopular religious sects including christians, and at several high powered officials or merchants seeking to knock out competition. But the most controversial and most debated cause is Emperor Neros involvement in setting the fire and killing thousands of his own people to achieve his own selfish goals. Nero was well known for being ruthless and unorthodox during his whole life and especially in the time that he held power in Rome. Since he first took power he made it clear he wanted to rebuild the majority of the city, and ultimately he achieved this goal but he did so in a subversive and rather horrific way. In order for Nero to build his golden house and dream city around it much of Rome would need to be destroyed first, it was for that very reason the senate rejected his request to build. Nero refused to take no for an answer, he would stop at nothing to get his way, even if it cost the lives he swore to protect as emperor. The Emperor himself set the fire so he could build where the senate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Using a cell phone while driving is distracting and dangerous, bringing damage to cars, people, relationships, finances, and much more. Cell phones in this current society have taken over a majority of peoples attention, having them while drivingis reckless and life threatening. In order to use a cell phone one must be looking at the screen to know what they are doing. When the driver takes their eyes off of the road for longer than a second or two then they are automatically in grave danger. Without looking at the road, someone could easily drive out of their lane and either hit another car or fall into a ditch causing self harm. Cell phone usage while driving is an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These cell phones are causing accidents therefore, they are indirectly responsible for a plethora of other problems as well, through the domino effect. For example, if a lady was driving her car and received a text from her son that he needed gym shoes for school, then she proceeded to text him back about what time he needed them and suddenly, she loses all focus she had on driving and turns it towards her phone. Focus lost, she starts to drift towards the inside lane. Without so much as a warning she has lost her life due to the drifting into the guard rail at 60 miles per hour. Her phone cost that lady her life; it cost her husband his wife and numerous financial debt for the car and funeral expenses, not to mention a life time of longing; and depressingly it cost her son his mother and possibly his chance of going to college easily with their significant financial decline. Texting, or any other cell phone usage, while driving does not only deprive people of their money or their loved ones, but relationships too. Directed by Liza Azuelos (LOL), the film tells the singer s story in a non linear way, beginning with her lying to her brother in a French airport in 1967, then secretly heading to a Parisian hotel. She is reeling from the recent suicide of her lover, burgeoning Italian pop singer Luigi Tenco, and has decided to attempt to take her own life. Not successful, she then is moved to a facility and doctors bring in those closest to her to learn more about her struggles. We traverse through her life at a relatively rapid speed, making Dalida a film that quickly becomes a highlight reel of a subject s life. Born Iolanda Gigliotti, she was bullied and rejected by her peers in grade school and saw her family persecuted during World War II. Her vocal talents soon emerged and in her early 20 s she was discovered by radio station magnate Lucien Morisse (NAME). So taken with one another, Morisse left his wife for Iolanda and began managing her career. Once stardom begin to swirl around Dalida, her rise is rather meteoric and ... • 12. Construction Of The Natural Environment . INTRODUCTION: Nigeria like other developing countries is undergoing rapid growth accompanied by rapid development pressure with high demand for Housing and Infrastructure as a result of population growth. In 2000 the United Nation food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) found that the role of population dynamics in local setting may vary from decisive to negligible and that deforestation can result from a combination of population pressure and stagnation of economy, social and technological condition . The present administration of Niger State Government embarked on mass constructions projects in order to reduce the alarming demands of housing. This leads to the obliteration of the natural environment Forests are being destroyed for several reasons, among which are the continued urbanization of the world and thus the need for construction of roads and buildings. The need for fuel and timber for construction is another major factor leading to deforestation (Domries and Salati, 1991). However, over half of the worlds tropical rainforest have already been destroyed, and they are continuing to be destroyed today (Dowroes 1991). Moreover, the nature of construction in Nigeria has visibly affected the environment. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in Nigeria is faced with so many challenges from enforcement of laws governing the necessity of EIA in some projects by relevant agencies of Government to collation of adequate baseline data and implementation processes of the ... I was able to observe the influence of Confucianism on Vietnamese culture as the manager described why he choose these employees. This particular instance allowed me to better understand ways in which unique Vietnamese values were able to be sustained in Western Culture. I was surprised initially because I had thought that the restaurant had preserved their culture physically through their architecture, cooking, and paintings. Instead, this represents an aspect of Vietnamese culture that one cannot simply understand through physical observation, it represents a deep rooted sense of integrity that is characteristic of Vietnamese culture. Through this conversation, I began to better understand how immigrants of a minority population such as Vietnam, were able to preserve their culture despite it being easier to simply succumb to values popular in Western culture such as collectivism. It would also be more difficult to successfully pitch this idea to a huge company and persuade them to heavily invest in something that would seem small scale to them. On the other hand, if he markets to small businesses, Dual Pane will more easily be able to keep its reputation as a quality restoration business. Benefits of market segmentation include a better and fuller understanding of the market, the ability to predict customer behaviour with more accuracy and an increased chance of detecting potential market opportunities (Kotler and Cox, 1988). The total market is perceived to be made up of several smaller segments, each segment in some way different from the other. This enables businesses to identify which segments are appealing to them and they can then profitably target their products and services to these customer segments through their marketing (Meyer and Graham, 2015) Similarly (Tynan and Drayton, 1987) states that the aim of market segmentation is to identify market segments, or individual sets of customers, which would form targets for the company s future marketing plans. • 26. The Concept Of Learning Process 3.LEARNING PROCESS APPROACH David Korten stated the concept of learning process in 1980. According to him, the process of learning is continuous and involved not only planners and implementers, but rural people. The goal of this approach is to develop capabilities through developing ideas, for making decisions and creating continual innovations. The process includes the areas of technology and organization or even a mix of both. The learning process serves an alternative to the blueprint approach, taking into account the particular context of the project. (Krishna et al., 1998) The possibility of embracing error is another particular characteristic of this approach. The use of small scale projects generates a substantive knowledge about the factors of success and the elements to improve in any stage of the development programs. For completing this process, the individuals in the project must document the findings and develop a structured system of learning which would be the base for building the local capabilities. This usually explains the tendency to slowly start the programs which use the learning process approach. The local capabilities construction becomes the main resource for the sustainability of the project through the development of the self reliance. The projects of development usually include an assisted process for generating this condition of self reliance. At this period, the voltage gated sodium channels are still firmly closed (or temporary inactivated) and the membrane cannot produce an action potential, regardless of the stimulation. CONDUCTION/PROPAGATION/TRANSMISSION OF ACTION POTENTIAL An action potential at any point along an axon s plasma membrane triggers the production of an action potential in the membrane on either side of it. Some people even have a pattern of being trapped in violent relationships. Usually, this individuals that are caught in a love and war relationship are sometimes reluctant to leave. There are many reasons for this social phenomenon that constantly occurs in violent relationships. According to Seccombe, Intimate partner violence(IPV) refers to violence between those who are emotionally or sexually intimate, such as spouses, partners, or those who are dating (264). Even though studies show that most of them do leave after a certain amount of time. It seems there are many factors that keep men and women staying in violent relationships. Seccombe lists many of them that are still relevant today. One of the tactics that abusers will use is the shaming tactic. They will shame their victims or in this case, their intimate partners by blaming them for everything. The abuser will blame their intimate partner for the reasons why the abuser is hitting them in the first place. As crazy as it sounds, but this is very common in the psychological process of abusers. Another reason why individuals stay in violent relationships is due to the fact that the victims feel ashamed. In the psychological process, they feel people will judge them and look down on them. Plus, they are aware that they are plenty of people who do not have violent relationships so they do not want people knowing about their own violent relationship. Then, it does not help that the victim s self esteem are usually low since the abuser has made them believe that they do not deserve a positive happy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If an individual is unhappy with their occupation it may affect other parts of their life. Job satisfaction can be seen in what one wants in a job as to what one has in their current job. Definition of Job Satisfaction Job satisfaction can be defined as an attitude or feeling one can have toward ones job. Job satisfaction is the extent to which people like (satisfaction) or dislike (dissatisfaction) in their jobs. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Job satisfaction is one of the most frequently measured organization variables. Organizations use these measurements to determine how satisfied their employees are and researchers use this information to determine if the job satisfaction or the lack of job satisfaction is a situational perspective or interactional perspective. Organizational commitment is critical to organizations due to the desire to retain a strong workforce. Organizations want to know why employees stay or leave their organizations so if correction is needed they have some tools to proceed with the correction. High turnover of employees in an organization can determine if an organization is successful or not. While turnover is related to all three areas of commitment researchers have determined that Affective commitment is one most associated with absenteeism and organizational citizenship (Williams J. 2004). Kitigawa Utamaro prevailed as one of the most important artists under the ukiyo e genres, focusing on the beauty of women in the hedonistic and rigidly organized Tokugawa period as it enjoyed stability the island yearned for. Of an unknown artist of the Rajasthani school in neighboring Madhya Pradesh, foreign powers from the Mughal Empire to the Portuguese slowly encroached in India, yet managed to maintain its traditions in Radha Krishnain its epic romance in Jayadeva s Gita Govinda. The soft colors of pink and green of their clothes and of the mattress on them further affirm the softness of the piece; they are lovers. Although the man s attire contrasts with that of the woman, it is difficult to discern where their bodies apart. Just like how the futon is both green and pink like the man and woman s robes respectively, the piece is supposed to indicate a romantic union between the two. The patterns on the futon and robe help add dimension to the print, which would later be reprinted for the consumption of the merchant class in the Tokugawa period. It is particularly important to note how Utamaro portrays the woman; women by Utamaro not only had an idealized form with slender features, but she barely resembles the common woman of the period with her impossible proportions. In direct contrast with the realism movement and their aspiration in portraying people the way they truly are, Utamaro s depiction of women and romance are dreamily hedonistic just like many Vogue editorials. To elaborate, the first amendment to the constitution prohibit the legislative arm of government in making of any law abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press and prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances. Post this amendment, there have been several cases where the Supreme Court has been required to interpret or make a decision to uphold its provisions.
