• Also called as Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Or Hepatoma.
• Most of Cases are Arises From Liver cells.

• Cirrhosis of Liver
• Alcohol
• Hepatitis B virus
• Hepatitis C virus
• Hemochromatosis (Increased Iron In
Blood)
• Aflatoxin (poisonous Carcinogens on Corn)
6. Clinical Manifestation
• Pain at Right upper abdomen (Rt Hc
Region),the pain extend to back and shoulder.
• Bloating
• Abdominal lump
• Enlarged liver
• Jaundice
• Steatorrhea (oily stool)
• Hepatic Encephalopathy (loss of brain function
when a damaged liver doesn’t remove toxin
from blood)
7. Management
1. Surgery : Partial Hepactomy/Liver
transplantation.
2. Radio Frequency Ablation : uses high
frequency radio-waves to destroy tumor
by local heating.
3. Percutaneous ethanol injection : the high
concentration of it used in these injections
can result in killing of tumor.
8. 4. Cryo Surgery : it includes placement of stainless
steel probe in the center of tumor and these probes
freeze the cancer cells, killing them.
5. Hepatic Arterial Infusion : it is an infusion of
anticancer drugs injected into a catheter that has
been placed in the major artery supplying blood to
liver (hepatic artery).
6. Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization : it is
done by injecting an antineoplastic drug (abnormal
cell growth control drug) with Lipidol and Embolic
agent Gelfoam in the Rt Or Lt Hepatic Artery Via
Groin Artery
9. Prevention
• Preventing viral hepatitis and cirrhosis.
• Vaccine can protect against hepatitis b.
• One of the most important is to protects
people of industries from chemicals.
• Drug before taking cirrhosis can reduce the
risk of cancer development.
• In starting phase of cirrhosis or cancer must
discussed with hepatologist.
