2686bp, high uptake efficiency by the host and fast replication time. Important features of this plasmid
include the origin of replication and multiple cloning sites (MCS). The origin of replication allows the
plasmid to replicate inside the host bacterium. The MCS is located within the lacZ gene and contains
unique sites for the Xbal EcoRI restirction enzymes to cut and produce sticky ends for the CIH 1 gene
to bind to. Furthermore, the pUC19 plasmid also contains an ampiccilin resistance gene so only
transforemed E.coli are able to remain viable when spread on the agar plates that also has the addition
of ampiccilin. The lacZ gene encodes the β galactosidase enzyme which aids in indentifying the
recombinant E.coli from the non recombinant cells (Coventry University 2016). The addition of 5
bromo 4 chloro 3 indoyl β thiogalactoside (X gal) in the agar mix acts as an artifical substrate for the
enzyme so it produces blue E.coli colonies when hydrolised by the β galactosidase meaning those
specific colonies do not contain the plasmid with the CIH 1 insert (non recombinant E.coli) (Coventry
University 2016). Isopropyl β D thiogalactoside (IPTG) an artifical transcription inducer of the lacZ
gene is also added into the agar mix, binding to the repressor gene and inactivating it. Therefore when

According to Paulo Freire, a Brazilian educator and philosopher, the current education lacks teacher
student communication. In his article he reveals that, Instead of communicating, the teacher issues
communiques and makes deposits which the students patiently perceive, memorize, and repeat. This is
the banking concept of education, in which the scope of action allowed to the students extends only as
far as receiving, filing, and storing the deposits.
Basically, Freire s argument is that education should involve student teacher knowledge exchange,
rather than the teacher being the one teaching all the time. As someone who is an educator, Freire
understands that knowledge is a result of active learning rather than passive learning. He likens the
current education to a banking system whereby the teacher just deposits information into the students
empty heads. Freire complains that this type of education does not give students the understanding
they need to connect the material with reality. In fact, he stresses out that students just memorize what
is said by the teacher without understanding the concepts. Due to that, he further describes how the
concepts taught in class seem to be disconnected from reality since the students cannot relate how

Fear mongering is a tactic used to scare people away from what they do not understand whether it be
sexuality, religion or ideology. Fear mongering is intentionally used to arouse public fear about a topic

in the form of bigger companies help project the tiny house lifestyle. Two different television
networks, HGTV and FYI, produced popular shows that informed the public what tiny houses looked
like and what accommodations they came with, of those being Tiny House Big Living, Tiny House
Hunters, Tiny House Nation, and Tiny House World. Each of the shows first aired in late 2014, except
for Tiny House World which came in late 2015 (Tiny House, Big living, Tiny House Hunters, Tiny
House Nation, Tiny House World). By producing a tv show about tiny houses, whether the show
follows contractors, people who build the house themselves, or real estate agents that sell to a
prospective buyers, HGTV and FYI easily allow every household with a television set to explore a
growing movement that encourages finding freedom by thinking big on living small (St. Louis
Sanchez). In addition to bringing the tiny movement into the house of their audience, the show
producers also aim to be salesmen. According to Malcolm Gladwell, the salesmen work to convince
others that they need something they never knew about before (Gladwell). These shows make money
off of every episode they put out, and they do so in hopes that the same audience will return with more
numbers in order to watch their show. HGTV and FYI produce these shows that highlight the price,
process, and advantages of being apart of the movement. Similar tactics are shown outside of the
weekly television shows in community events, such as the Tiny House Jamboree. The jamboree is an
