Brick Wall Reflection
My father was always sharing with me, his stored words of wisdom as a kid growing up. One in
particular that I heard many times over, was, this world is made up of all kinds of people from all
walks of life.
You just never know what people are going through in their life s and do not deserved to be judged by
anybody and by all means not to be judged by you. He followed up with the usual question, do you
understand me? And from time to time, he would challenge me to make sure I did.
He stressed for me to take ownership of your own responsibilities and treat everyone with the same
respect, that you want in return. Do not turn your head, do not look down and never be disrespectful to
anyone in passing.
Always be the first to extend your hand with a simple gesture, because you never know, you might
need that same hand to help you up.
This brick wall represents the variation of tone and color of each brick. No two bricks are truly the
same, but yet, very similar.
My father continued with; the human race is very much like this brick wall, different shapes, different
tones and colors, and from different places from all over the world.
While viewing this presentation, the focus was highlighting to compare similarities between the bricks
and the human races, attributes.
But here is the true story behind the brick wall:
It s the mortar between these bricks that give it, it s strength to with stand all weather conditions to last
for years.
As for the human race, this mortar

Health Care Reform 2010
For the first time in U.S. history, every American will have access to quality, affordable health care
under the updated health insurance reform legislation passed by the House. The Affordable Health
Care for America Act or H.R. 3962, blends and updates the three versions of previous bills passed by
the House committees. (Kruger, M. 2010) This bill is expected to ease the out of control costs of
health insurance, introduce competition into the health care marketplace that will help maintain
coverage affordability, protect people s choices of doctors and health plans, and guarantee all
Americans access to quality, consistent, affordable health care.
The Association of American Medical Colleges stated in a Mar. ... Show more content on

Under existing law, therefore, the tax is clearly constitutional. Many important and popular
government programs are based on Congress s ability to give incentives through taxation and
redistribute tax revenues for public purposes. To strike down the individual mandate the Supreme
Court would have to undermine many years of precedence justifying these programs that stretch back
to the New Deal.
Other opposing views against the mandates argue that the bill and won t produce what was promises
but instead will create higher costs and less health insurance. Physicians for a National Health Plan
(PHNP), stated in their Mar. 22, 2010 press release, As much as we would like to join the celebration
of the House s passage of the health bill, in good conscience we cannot. We take no comfort in seeing
aspirin dispensed for the treatment of cancer. Instead of eliminating the root of the problem the profit
driven, private health insurance industry this costly new legislation will enrich and further entrench
these firms. This bill s passage reflects political considerations, not sound health policy..... ( Pro single

and burdens on small businesses, create dangerous new entitlements while ... ultimately doing little to

The Concept Of Sin In Dante Alighieri s Inferno
Dante Alighieri s Inferno is the first of three books in The Divine Comedy. A comedy in Dante s time
didn t mean what it means today: a comedy was a piece of literature that moved from dark to light or
from damnation to salvation in the eyes of God. In The Inferno, Dante delves into darkness and
damnation, and his view of the nature of Hell. Dante was a devout Catholic, so most of his inspiration
for The Inferno came from the Bible. In Dante s version of Hell, there are nine circles that reach to the
center of the Earth: Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Avarice and Prodigality, Wrath and Sullenness, Heresy,
Violence, Fraud, and Treachery. Those who commit the least severe sins are put near the top, as in
Limbo, and the worst sins at the bottom come with the worst punishments. Dante, the character in the
book, is escorted by the poet Virgil to literally explore Dante s descent into sin. To better understand
the book s concept of sin, the reader should compare the least sinful part of Hell, Limbo, to the most
sinful part of Hell, the ninth circle where Satan is kept.
The poem begins with Dante waking up in a forest. Dante tries to climb the mountain and sees three
beasts: a leopard, a lion, and a wolf. Later, Dante meets Virgil, a Roman poet Dante is fond of, to help
him climb the mountain. Virgil says they have to go through Hell first before reaching Heaven, where
Beatrice, a woman Dante loved in real life, will be waiting for him. Eventually, Dante and Virgil get to

Buddhist Art Analysis
Everything means something. The artwork of Buddhism has special ways of conveying meaning
through their artwork. Everything from colors to hand gestures means an incredible amount of
information. As a newcomer to these ideas the best way to convey what I have learned is by showing
the artwork that made everything come together and explain what they mean to the practice and to me.
The first place we visited was right outside of Chengdu. (See Figure.P1) This was the Wenshu
Monastery, the first monastery we visited on the program; it set the tone for the difference between
Chinese Buddhist Art and Tibetan Buddhist Art. The architecture seen in Figure.P1 can be attribute to
the Qing Dynasty around 1700 AD, although, the main buildings were original ... Show more content

with prayer beads in one hand and the other resting in a relaxed position. His pose while sitting is also

both feet meet together. The artwork of the Laughing Buddha Chinese Maitreya is immediately

Henequen Wheat Complex Analysis
Walking along the aisles of a local home improvement store or even farm, many would not think or
even be aware of twine s vast history in shaping the world around us. However, to a historian much is
known about this commodity and its relation to the henequen wheat complex as well as its effects on
sustainability, economics, and society in both North America and Mexico as described in Sterling
Evan s novel, Bound in Twine. Not only did the henequen wheat complex itself play a significant role
in influencing many aspects within the two regions, but it had numerous benefits and disadvantages
that ultimately changed the history and lives of many affected by its development, particularly those in
Yucatan.

With the increased desire to produce larger amounts on henequen in the Yucatan to support its
monocrop economy, the complex consequently permanently altered the landscape and overall
environment of the state. As mentioned previously, prior to the development of the henequen complex,
the area could be described as a varied landscape on the remarkably flat Yucatan terrain. However, the
Yucatan later bear more resemblance to a patchwork of haciendas, so much so that with the boom in
henequen at the end of the century, haciendas and even the much venerated cattle ranches were
converted to plantations. Thus, the henequen wheat complex played a significant role in permanently
transforming the once diverse ecosystem of the Yucatan into a uniform landscape solely dedicated to
the harvesting of one crop, the henequen. In addition to these environmental alterations, this complex
as well as the established monocrop economy introduced deforestation and subsequent erosion that
would ultimately cause the ecological improvishment of the henequen zone in which it was
economically benefiting from. However, to others the henequen wheat complex can be considered a
sustainable model since after the severe decline of henequen production following the 1980 s, Yucatan
experienced much ecological improvement. Remarkably,

Romeo And Juliet Dialectical Journal

Imagine if you were walking down the aisle on your wedding day which is meant to be the best day
ever, but the person at the end is a stranger. How would you like if the day you have been waiting all
your life is just practically handed to you and isn t even what you wanted or who you wanted to be
with. Well, this is actually how some people s lives happen for them. Such as they have no say in who
they marry because their parents are in control of it all. In Romeo and Juliet this is the same situation
that Juliet and Paris went through in the story. Like how Juliet s parents wanted her to marry Paris at
the age of fourteen. Juliet s family was for arranging marriage since they were arranged when they got
married, but on the other hand Juliet was very against the whole idea of marrying at fourteen,
especially since she was very in love with Romeo even though their two families hated each other.

This is a big deal when things are arranged for people even though some people don t see it. For
example, Tim Arango stated, I tried to kill myself, she said. I did not want to get married. I was forced

endings leading to death. In like manner Arango also stated that, Officials are alarmed by what they
described as a worsening epidemic of suicides, particularly among young women tormented by being
forced to marry to young, to someone they do not love . So even though some people do realize the
amount of stress put on people it is still necessary that everyone needs to realize what could happen if
you force something to happen when it s not meant to be. It s clear now that if you are doing this to
someone that you could have more severe things happen that you need to keep in

Stents that deliver anti proliferative drugs from durable polymer, have reduced both clinical and
angiographic restenosis compared with bare metal stents without increasing adverse events (AEs)
including death or myocardial infarction (MI) (1 2). However, permanent polymers may be associated
with hypersensitivity reactions, delayed and/or incomplete vascular healing which may contribute to
an increased risk of both late (30 days to 1 year) and very late (beyond 1 year) stent thrombosis (ST)
which was particularly evident following first generation DES (5,6). Even newer durable polymers
with enhanced biocompatibility and improved clinical outcomes have still been incriminated in
chronic inflammation, thrombosis and neoatherosclerosis (which occurs earlier and with increased
prevalence following both 1st and 2nd generation DES (7,8,9). To reduce the risk of stent thrombosis

I Am On The Uconn Women s Basketball Team
When I tell people I am from Phoenix, Arizona, they look at me funny and ask, What are you doing in
Connecticut? My response is always the same, I m on the UConn women s basketball team. Sport has
played a large role in my life and has definitely impacted me. My parents were key factors that helped
me get to where I am now. Both of my parents were college athletes. My father played basketball at
Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Before that, he was an all state basketball player,
tennis player and pitched for his high school baseball team. My mother played tennis at Marquette
University. She was voted most valuable player all four years and won the prestigious McCahill
Award as the university s top student athlete her senior year. She came from a tennis family. Her two
sisters, her dad, and several uncles played college tennis. Her father, like her, won the McCahill award
as Marquette s top student athlete. To this day, they are the only father child combination to win the
award. My parents met in line for drug testing when they were both athletes at Marquette. With
parents so into athletics, it is not surprising that they decided early on in their relationship that their
children would play sports. They decided my brother and I would participate in sports at a young age
and knew that sports would teach us valuable life lessons.

The independent variable in this experiment is whether I am going to use cues or not, and the
dependant variable is how many words participants remember. The extraneous variables could involve
things like a mobile phone going off, or the noise outside or anything that might not be expected. To
make sure the extraneous variables are controlled, I will make sure the room is well away from any
possible means of noise, and also make sure everybody s mobiles are switched off. My experimental
design is independent measures, meaning I used two groups. The numbers of participants in each of
the two groups is 10. They are mixed so the experiment is fair, and can get a true result from each

The Pros And Cons Of Contract Contracts
Formed contracts usually consist exclusion or exemption clauses limiting the liability of party/parties
for contractual breach. These clauses aim at excluding the legal responsibilities of the parties for
particular types of injuries, losses/damages sustained by the other party. However, the courts had made
distinction between exclusion and limitation clauses limiting the amount of compensation for
contractual breaches. Traditionally, the courts do not assess the exclusion clauses on merit grounds, to
avoid contradicting the general idea of freedom of contract . Hence the courts, in order to supervise
and for better use of these clauses; developed common law rules addressing incorporation and
construction. Additionally, the governmental developed statutory regulations, Unfair Contract Terms

However, if the clause is put forward after the contract, then it cannot be incorporated as seen in the
cases of Olley v Marlbourough Court Hotel; and Thornton v Shoe Lane Parking. Incorporation can
also be done by a course of previous dealings as the parties are fully aware of the terms and clauses
that could form the part of the contract. Regularity and consistency in dealings is crucial, evident in
the cases of McCutcheon v MacBrayne; and Hollier v Rambler Motors; where exclusion clause could
not be incorporated due to a non consistent course of conduct. In cases of onerous or unusual clauses,
more efforts must be made to draw the attention of the party. Considering present case facts closely, it
is established that the exclusion clause was incorporated into the contract through previous dealings as

Third Party
Third party has been widely used in the Islamic community in Malaysia to handle family matters
especially in marital dispute. They have played their role especially in resolving conflict including
civil suit in Syariah Court (Osman, 1999). Previous research showed that third party has played it
roles to resolve conflict among Malays. Some of the examples of the third party are, Imam or religious
leader, Ketua Kampung (Village Head) and the Penghulu (Village Chief) (Syed Hussin, 1977, and
Yaacob, 1991). These peoples became the advisor in the Malay tradition to help in resolving conflict.
Most of the time they became the third party that is referred to, for any problem or occasion in the
village. In the extended family, each family was not only depending on their close family, thus all of
them were also considered as family (Yaacob, 1991). The implementation of Syariah Enactment as
well as Islamic Family Law since 1880 then amended in 1885 did not isolate the role of those parties
in any family matters (Ahmad Ibrahim, 1987 and Osman, 1999). Only after the implementation of
Islamic Administration Enactment, the role of third party had shifted from those mentioned earlier to
the Religious Officer appointed by the government.

5.5 Limitations
Due to the limited amount of studies done on strategic budgetary system as it relates to power
infrastructure development in public sector in Nigeria, the survey used in this study was partially
based on survey instruments adapted and some generated by the researcher. A number of questions
used in the instrument were developed specifically to suite this dissertation. However, researchers
undertaking studies in strategic budgetary system in the future would benefit from survey questions
validated more specifically in the context of power sector infrastructure development. Furthermore,
the answers from respondents also need to be understood in the context of public servants giving
answers that they felt were expected rather than absolutely honest answers for fear of exposing
important personal and government secrets. Lastly, in Nigeria public sector there is dearth of data for
research. As a corollary, collection of data for this study was difficult especially in the past years
during the military regime.

Based on the research conducted in this dissertation, the study hereby makes the following
recommendations in line with the nine hypotheses tested:

level and quality of projects to be executed. It is recommended that proper power planning should be

Commerce Is Creating Wealth For Society
The among the many functions of commerce is creating wealth for society. However, it is questionable
if the firm in Margin Call follows through with its role acting in the interests of society in its bleak
predicament. Once it is revealed that there is a high probability of the firm being devalued beyond
market capitalization, the employees of an unnamed company attempt to formulate a solution to the
imminent crisis. Although there is some dissent from Sam Rogers, Head of Sales and Trading, CEO
Tuld promptly decides to liquidate the firm s toxic assets onto the market. Despite the unanimous
direction the firm moves in, there are various sources of internal tensions between the firm s
employees in that they individually represent differing perspectives within the social context of the
firm. Through the various rationales the executives possess as well as the relationships between the
employees and the firm itself, Margin Call illustrates the conviction that although the role of
commerce is to engender a certain lifestyle for the public, the executives in the firm have warped this
belief into a justification for the extreme measures they lead the firm to take in the name of their profit

Reflecting The Viewpoints of Time in Art Essay
Throughout history, ideals such as heroism and patriotism as well as concepts such as war and
violence, have acquired different connotations. During the 19th century, they had a positive
connotation. With the occurrence of revolutions war and violence was justified under the ideals of
patriotism and heroism. During the 21st century, society began to was in the process of developing a
more sophisticated view. The century was even more violent than the 19th century with conflicts such
as the world wars and in particular the Vietnam War. Yet they were no longer were justified outright
by ideals. America, for example, began to question its involvement in the Vietnam War for a number
of reasons. Two artists, two centuries apart, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
David depicts Leonidas and his men in the final moments before battle. At the center and focus of the
painting, David has placed Leonidas sitting on a rock. He seems to be thinking about the fate of
himself and his men. While Leonidas is looking stoically at the viewer, flurries of activity are
occurring around him. To Leonidas s right, sentinel trumpeters sound the call to arms increasing the
sense of the movement. Seated at his feet is his wife s brother Agis, awaiting orders. Behind Leonidas,
are three figures lifting up wreaths about two altars to Hercules and Aphrodite. Two very young
warriors are by Leonidas after refusing to carry a message so that they could stay and fight. A man
inscribes the words Passer by, tell Sparta that her sons died for her on the rock. All of the figures are
ready to die for the glory of Sparta. David painted Leonidas at Thermopylae using oil on canvas. He
had an extremely laborious working procedure, in which draughtsman ship played a major role . He
made countless studies in preparing for the painting. He would even complete drawings of the
skeletons of his figures. David painted on a small part of a picture at a time. The purpose was to create
the effect of the look out man signals the arrival of the Persians, the trumpeters sound the warning
fanfare, and Leonidas looks up from his supreme moment of life on earth . David s Leonidas

Analysis Of Raphael Ravenscroft s The Moonlight Sonata...
It is my belief that every instrument has an anthem, every instrument has an instantly recognizable
piece that forms its epitome. Whether it be Beethoven s Moonlight Sonata for piano, Raphael
Ravenscroft s Sax hook in Gerry Rafferty s Baker Street, or G.C Colemans s Amen Break which has
been referred to as Six second drum break that shaped 1500 songs , every instrument has this end goal
to strive for, for violin, this piece is Méditation Religieuse.
Méditation, the dramatic interlude from the opera Thaïs by French composer Jules Massenet, like no
other piece so thoroughly shows off the range and passion that in the right hands a violin can execute.
No longer confined to the realm of the Opera; Massonett s Méditation has taken on a life of its own as
a soloist piece. As a consequence, almost all of the great violinists of the modern age have graced it
with their own unique spin such as: Jascha Heifetz, Andre Rieu, and of course Joshua Bell. Joshua
Bell was born in Bloomington, Indiana on December 9th,1967. Bell s interest in music was discovered
at the age of four when his parents bought him a violin after finding Joshua making music my
stretching rubber bands to different lengths on dresser drawers. At the age of 12 Bell he became
serious about the violin when he attended the Medowmount music camp in Westport, New York.
Joshua was discovered to be a prodigy, and at the age of 14 he made his orchestral debut at age 14

Human Dissection Essay
Though dissections have been occurring since humans first began seeking knowledge, it has often
been done in secret. Among them (means of obtaining human subjects for dissection) are the bodies of
the executed, bodies stolen from graveyards, unclaimed bodies from poorhouses, hospitals and
prisons, the bodies of suicides or duelists, and the bodies of persons murdered for the purpose of
dissection (Hildebrandt p.2). These unconventional means were necessary until in the late 13th
century and early 14th century Europe, dissection of the bodies of executed criminals was legalized
(Perloff p. 6) but there has been a long standing opposition of the church to human dissections,
especially the Roman empire. As per research of Mary Niven Alston, ... Show more content on

Andreas Vesalius was the most influential component of the field of anatomy in modern time. After
the time he graduated from the University of Padua he became a professor but demanded he be
allowed to dissect which was untraditional because of the traditional lecture with barber surgeon

observations did not match the material he was taught. In 1543 he published the results of his
disagreements with Galen, a new method, and a new philosophy in De humani corporis fabrica...
Vesalius showed that the liver was not five lobed but one mass, that men did not have one less rib and
women one more, that nerves were not hollow, and that bones were a dynamic foundation of the
human body (Ede 124). One of the most important aspects was the illustrations. It contains over 600
engravings. The different volumes address the skeleton, the muscles, the vascular and the nervous
systems, the abdomen, the thorax, and the brain. The book devoted to the muscles contained a series
of images showing successively uncovered muscular layers. Notably, the human figures were
presented in natural, rather than schematic, poses (Dominiczak p. 5). This rejection of the traditional

A Experiment On Breaching Experiment
Breaching Experiment
The first norm I violated was sitting with my own clique during lunch. This is more than common in
high schools and even middle schools. In regards to social control, this norm creates a spot in society
for an individual, giving them a sense of belonging. This sense of belonging leads to self assigned
seats and allows people with similar interests or ideals to be better connected. To violate this norm I
sat with people who did not know who I am without asking prior to sitting down.
There are a lot of possible reactions that could have been a result of violating the norm. Before I began
the experiment I figured students would try to focus on their food as a mean of avoidance. If not that,

The other boy took off his earbuds and told me about his classes. As long as the subject was school,
the conversation moved smoothly.
The most important part was the interaction between the both of them. The second boy tried to get the
first one to be kind and talk to me instead of using his phone, but he protested that he was shy. What
stuck out the most was when Boy #2 told Boy #1 to just be himself. It implied that he was actually
more talkative and that I made him uncomfortable. Despite this it really wasn t that bad. The first boy
even admitted that if I sat there more often it wouldn t take long to see him act weird, which I later
learned meant how he normally acts.
The second day was on March 24th at 12:21pm. I sat down across from a girl at a table that was a lot
less populated than the one next to it. I was early for lunch that day so I thought there would be more
people coming to sit down but it turned out that this girl sat alone. It took me a minute or two to come
to that realization so by the time I said hi, it was awkward. However, we broke that awkwardness and
exchanged names soon after.
I started to ask more open ended questions about her family and the day she was having. She told me
about herself as long as I asked but kept it at that. There were no questions directed towards me and
her voice was very quiet. For the times she didn t know what to say she would keep her eyes on her

Comparing Michelangelo And Bernini s David
One can see from the many depictions through paintings, sculptures, and architecture that the biblical
young David served as an heroic influence and inspiration for many artists. The creation of these
masterpieces, although constructed in different moments in time, individually display and bring out
great emotional responses from its viewers. When speaking on the statue of David, Michelangelo s
sculpture is world famous and most highly noted. However there is more than one David; one in
which was created more than a century later by the great Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
When looking at Michelangelo s depiction of David in comparison to Bernini s depiction of David,
one can see similar aspects as well as the demonstrated differences. The most obvious difference
would be between the eras in which these sculptures were constructed and the moment in time in
which both artist decided to present. Michelangelo s David, developed in the High Renaissance
period, is that of a brave, confident, and strong young man; preparing himself for the battle ahead of
him. His statue illustrates the human form at the greatest level of achievement, in which it is modeled
after Greek gods; the perfect version of human form. This form of David is elegant, composed,
relaxed, and athletic; creating a sense of pride and peacefulness ... Show more content on

Genocide In The Film The Devil Came On Horseback
Genocide is rightfully seen as one of the most emotionally heavy words in the English language.
When many people think of genocide, they might correlate the word to the attempted, and nearly
successful, extermination of the Jewish people during World War II. To stand by and watch fellow
human beings killing each other because of their race, religion, sexuality, etc., leads many to conclude
those who stand by are just as guilty as those who commit the act. Unfortunately, horrendous acts are
kept silent from the global eye, as the film The Devil Came on Horseback intends to show us. Anne

It is possible that one of the reasons for the momentum for the cause slowed down is due to the Great
Recession between 2007 2008, around a year after The Devil Came on Horseback was released.
Americans became more focused on their own needs than those of other countries or even the less
fortunate in the United States. The compelling techniques utilized by the filmmaker could not
overcome the changing environment or mindsets in America. Being an activist or seeking to aid other
countries is highly disliked in today s America, as there has been an increase in nationalism from its
citizens. Although it might seem harsh, it does seem logical for some to worry about getting their own
lives into an orderly state before interfering in those of others. There are even groups who believe that
the people of Darfur brought this crisis upon themselves. Ultimately, the work of Anne Sundeburg and

Piaget’S Cognitive Developmental Theory States That Children
Piaget s Cognitive Developmental Theory states that children go through four stages of cognitive
development as they actively construct their understanding of the world. Stage one of this theory, or
the sensorimotor stage, infants of the age newborn through two years construct an understanding of
the world by sensory skills (hearing and seeing) with physical actions. This for example could be a
simple game of peak a boo. Skye, the infant in the video clip, giggles at his mother playing the game.
According to Piaget s theory, young infants do not know what happens when object go out of sight.
During the first year, infants learn that objects have life of their own, even when not visible. This is
known as object permanence. Mya knew to look ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When asking the child which has more, she counted and stated that they were the same. When
spreading out the quarters in only one row, making it look like there was more in it than the other, the
child states as observed; the row with the more spread out quarters has more. This is because one row
was longer than the other. The final experiment consisted of Graham crackers. The young girl was
handed one cracker while the adult had two. The girl did not think it was very fair for the adult to have
more. When her cracker was cut in half, she instantly believed she had the same amount and was
content. These experiences were an excellent example of this stage. It would take an older child to
realize it was the same amounts. Children in this experiment was going by what they saw.
During stage three, or the concrete operational stage, children can now reason logically about concrete
events and classify objects into different sets. This stage consists of children who are older in age.
These children are between the ages of seven and eleven. Concrete operational thinkers though cannot
image the steps needed to complete a math equation. This is because it would require a level of
thinking that is too nonconcrete for this stage of development. An example of this stage uses the same
experiment in stage two with the liquids, which I believe is easy to understand because it is already

There are many obstacles, notions of self preservation, and even temptations that one has to confront
when choosing the right decision. To choose what is right, one must, often times, abandon resist all of
the above even the most difficult of obstacles. In Albert Camus The Guest , the author illustrates these
obstacles in the choices made by protagonist Daru, as he is faced with an impossible moral decision
with regards to the Arab prisoner. Daru, a schoolmaster serving in the French Resistance Movement, is
alone with his thoughts and sense of moral righteousness when approached with the incredible
decision to free or not to free the Arab. As Daru reaches his fork in the road, he is confronted by

Albert Camus establishes Daru s benevolent character by describing how everyday [he] would

standing, that he is in an authority figure poor , yet an honorable and trustworthy leader. Daru
equalizes poverty with being a victim. The detailed thoughts and concern that Daru shows for the Arab
underscores how immediately Daru is drawn to helping the prisoner. Even as Balducci, the gendarme,
waves and greets, Daru did not reply, lost as he was in contemplation of the Arab dressed in a faded
blue jellaba (Camus 6). In this scene, Daru shows what his concern is aimed toward, the poor Arab
victim, rather than a long time friend. It is clear from this division that Daru puts his beliefs ahead of
personalities, in such a way, delineating that he indeed does what s right, aside from the fact that there

Marketing And Communication In Fashion Marketing
Fashion Marketing is a way to contribute to the field of the fashion industry s process to success. I
have always seen fashion marketing and communications as an opportunity, appreciation and passion
for fashion and all that it stands for. Jobs within fashion marketing can include; merchandising,
product development and production, trend forecasting, public relations, visual merchandising and
marketing and leadership related positions. A large part of all these jobs is having an understanding for
what consumers enjoy, love and want to spend their money on. For example, label and logo design can
read into what consumers feels a brand represents and may entail. In fast fashion, (having worked with
Forever 21 for over a year myself) it has given me an insight for how a large scale fast fashion
businesses run one store of their many locations around the world. In my generation, social media has
a very large influence on the way people in today s day and age consume clothing. This comes with
the need of a product wanted right away and instantaneously. Consumers are impatient just like all of
us are, we love express shipping, to get the latest trends that released on Instagram, and to wear the
new clothing we purchased the very next day. This is what has lead to the success of the fast fashion
industry. Knowing this, the way fashion is marketed must bring awareness of new media, for
companies and brands to succeed in the future. The people consuming product will contribute

Dulce Et Decorum Est And The War Poem Analysis
Individual experiences of war are eccentric and can be disparate which reflect upon the complexities
and intricacies of World War II. These contrasting experiences and judgments have been demonstrated
and explored thoroughly throughout both Rupert Brooke s 1914 war poem The Soldier and Wilfred
Owen s war poem Dulce et Decorum Est . Poet Rupert Brookes, has displayed the ideology of honour
through sacrifice resulting from patriotism within his 1914 sonnet The Soldier . The poem was written
at the beginning of the First World War in 1914, as a part of a series of sonnets written by Rupert
Brooke. The Soldier illustrates the ideals of honour sacrifice and patriotism that were valorised during
the period of WW1. Rupert Brooks 1914 war poem The Soldier , illustrates a conflicting perspective
and judgment on the concept and ideals of Patriotism so commonly referred upon by displaying the
vast patriotism and honour linked with sacrifice which affirms the hegemony of British cultural
imperialism. Wilfred Owen s 1917 war poem, Dulce et Decorum Est , explores the conflicting anti war
perspective through the vivid demonstration of the psychological and physical trauma inflicted upon
those involved in the conflict of World War 1. Owen s 1917 war poem Dulce et Decorum Est ,
denounces the traditional belief in patriotism and the honour associated with giving one s life for their

The Importance Of Cultural Diversity In The Classroom
As I read all the literature and watched the videos that were provided to us, I kept thinking about how
diverse our nation is. The United States is the most culturally diverse nation, and that is what makes it
such a great country. Unfortunately, having such great amounts of diversity can bring forward many
problems for health educators who are not well prepared to teach individuals of different cultures and
customs. Cultural competence can be defined as the ability to be responsive and effective with
students of all cultures. Having cultural competency is what allows a teacher to successfully serve a
culturally diverse classroom. Many teachers lack the cultural awareness that will allow them to
successfully teach, and have trusting and respectful relationships with students of all cultures. In order
for students to succeed in the classroom and in school they must have a sense of connectedness or a
sense of belonging with the classroom environment, teachers and other students. Students must feel
that they are part of the classroom, that they are accepted, respected and that we genuinely care for
their learning and care for them as individuals. The more I think about it; in order to gain a sense of
connectedness with anyone I must be genuine, meaning that I must be myself and not pretend to be
something I am not. There must also be trust, respect and acceptance of cultural differences. This
acceptance and respect of cultural differences is an important and crucial

formation of the CCA. Fredric Wertham was a German American psychiatrist who s specialty was in
child development and behavior. Wertham was a major member of the anti comics revolution that was
forming amongst literary critics and fellow psychiatrists during the 40s and 50s. During his time at the

of metal problems and juvenile delinquency. Some of the patients included a young woman who
dreamed of killing her own brother and said she looked at crime comics for inspiration and others
included homosexual boys that said they saw the Batman and Robin relationship as something they
always wanted. From his observations at the clinic Wertham would write and publish in 1954 what is
considered the book nearly ended comics in Seduction of the Innocent. In Seduction Wertham
describes the dangers comics had on young minds by depicting acts of sexual intercourse and extreme

Rhetorical Devices In The Cask Of Amontillado
For one to convey the explicit and implicit main ideas in one s story, one must employ a multitude of
rhetorical strategies. In Poe s The cask of Amontillado , a horror story in which a man sets out to kill
his friend during a festival, his use of rhetoric allowed him to strike a sense of fear and anticipation
into the audience. However, the main purpose of the rhetoric Poe used is in order to convey the
explicit main idea of revenge and the implicit main idea of the price for foolishness. The explicit main
idea of revenge in The Cask of Amontillado is conveyed to the reader through sundry rhetorical
strategies. For example Montresor, the malefactor of his friend s murder, states that, THE thousand
injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge.
From this, it is clearly seen the main idea is revenge. Furthermore, he tells the reader that in order for
his revenge to be satisfactory he must, not only punish but punish with impunity. (Poe 1) In other
words, he must seek revenge in such a manner that Fortunato will not know about him attempting to
gain his vengeance until the last moment.
On the other hand, the implicit main ideas of foolishness and violence are stated much more discreetly
than the explicit main idea. In How to Read Literature Like a Professor, Foster provides an
explanation for why Poe chose to have Montresor kill Fortunato by stating writers kill off characters
for the same set of reasons make

Genetic Privacy And The Human Genome Project
With bounding advances in the field of genomics, genetic privacy has sparked a controversy. In the
1980s, the Human Genome Project was established to sequence the entirety of the human genome.
The first draft of this project was published in Nature in February, 2001, about 10 percent short of
completion (National Institutes of Health [NIH], 2015). Originally, scientists had hypothesized that
there was anywhere from 50,000 to 140,000 genes. However, after the release of the first draft and the
later completion of the full sequence in April of 2003, it was revealed that there were actually about
20,500 genes (NIH, 2015). Since April 2003, the structure, organization, and function of these many
genes has begun to be better understood (NIH, 2015). As genetics moved forward, there was hope of
application in the fields of criminal justice and medicine. According to the International Homicide

loved ones are still alive. If the justice system had access to a national genetic database, this issue
could be resolved; if all citizens could provide the justice system with samples of their DNA, criminal
cases and missing persons cases could be solved at a more efficient rate. Furthermore, if doctors had
access to every patient s genetic information, they could be informed about possible health

The Core Of Any Good Business And Call Center
At the core of any good business and call center is a strong platform in place that meets the current
needs of the company and the ability for growth in the future. This proposal is to identify which
vendor I suggest that can not only meet our current needs but also give us flexibility in the future. I
will establish my findings and reasons for selecting the proposed platform from a specific vendor. To
determine the best fit for our needs, I will be evaluating the following vendors to narrow my selection
from Avaya, Genesys, and Interactive Intelligence. I. Avaya Interaction Center and Contact Center
Express Avaya is one of the more well known and reputable IP Contact Center vendors that are
available today. Avaya has been awarded as one of the Best Reporting, IP Contact Center, 2005 IP
Contact Center Review. Being one of the larger vendors for call and contact centers, Avaya estimates
it has shipped well over 6 million contact center seats over the last dozen years. This equates to about
25,000 active contact centers around the world, and it is also clear that competitors are working to beat
Avaya. They may claim that their packages are doing things cheaper, faster, easier, better managed,
and/or with more integrated features than Avaya provides. Despite the claims of Avaya s competition,
they have their work cut out for them. After further review, Avaya s current high end offering of
Interaction Center 7.0, and Contact Center Express 2.1, which is aimed at the mid size

Dehydration Lab Report
Hydration plays a fundamental role in body function. As such, fluid intake and excretion are tightly
regulated by various heterogeneous body mechanisms that work together to maintain a homeostatic
fluid balance. Fluid and solute balance affects every organ system in the body, especially, the
cardiovascular system, the nervous system, the genitourinary system, and the various fluid
compartments such as the interstitial and intracellular spaces. Dehydration occurs when there is an
extracellular fluid volume deficit and can originate from a variety of diverse causes. It can be the
result of insufficient fluid intake, excess fluid loss, or a combination of the two. Common causes of
excessive fluid loss that lead to dehydration include unmonitored ... Show more content on

These mechanisms include activation of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), which elicits systemic
vasoconstriction (via catecholamine binding of α1 receptors) in an attempt to increase peripheral
vascular resistance (PVR), and increases heart rate (via catecholamines binding to β1 receptors) in an
attempt to increase CO, both of which are fundamental components of the blood pressure equation.
This is done to maintain an adequate perfusion pressure in order to oxygenate the tissues and prevent
hypoxic cell injury. If hypovolemia is present, the body will first shunt the blood away from less
critical organs such as the GI tract in order to maintain perfusion of critical organs such as the brain,
the heart system, and the kidneys. If hypovolemia and tissue hypoperfusion are severe enough, major
organ damage will occur as a result of hypoxia (Copstead Banasik, 2013). This patient experienced
clear signs of systemic tissue hypoperfusion secondary to severe hypovolemia as evidenced by his
syncopal episode (cerebral hypoperfusion), his persistent pressure like chest pain (myocardial
ischemia), and his acute renal failure (renal hypoperfusion). The fact that these critical organs were
affected indicates just how severe his state of hypovolemia, hypotension, and hypoperfusion

The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a program that employed millions of young, unmarried
men on environmental projects during the Great Depression from 1933 1942. The CCC was one of
FDR s most popular and most successful New Deal programs. It employed 300,000 men that helped
plant over three billion trees, constructed nature trails in more than 800 parks around the United
States, and shaped the national parks we enjoy today (History.com). The CCC s impact can be noticed
everyday all around the nation. The book Hitch by Jeanette Ingold is historically accurate with its
portrayal of the Civilian Conservation Corps. This CCC stuff is just temporary for me, to bring in a
little cash (Ingold 36). This quote gives a good representation ... Show more content on

Compton is pretty angry in this quote because he is working beside criminals. In fact, Moss had been
arrested for trespassing on railroad property. A lot of men and women were arrested for petty crimes,
and many were sent to the CCC to get them off of the streets and to give people something to do.
According to ccclegacy.com, one Chicago judge felt the CCC was largely responsible for the large
reduction in crime. The CCC gave young men a job, taught them skills, and provided them with a lot
of benefits. It gave them a sense of self worth and value as they helped their families, it helped the
communities they worked in, and it boosted their own self esteem. Having real work to do charged up
the guys (Ingold 285). The CCC was developed to create jobs that would boost the economy. The
CCC specifically targeted young men, providing them with employment, food, and shelter. These
young men often sent money home to their families. In exchange, the men received training and
education that would stay with the throughout their lives. Besides economic benefits, the CCC also
provided a lasting legacy in our country. There are 16 parks that were built by the CCC in South
Carolina alone. The CCC was a resounding success for the New Deal and the country because it
supplied jobs, education, and a place for young men to

Manorialism During The High Middle Ages
Manorialism was an economic structure during the high middle ages that consisted of a lord and his
vassals who served him and his wife. The serfs had more rights than slaves but they were tied to the
land of their lord even when their land was captured by another lord. Unlike slaves, serfs could keep
some of their crops and maintain their own family. Cottagers ranked below serfs and were only given
cottage and a small plot of land to work on. At the top of the working class were freeholders. These
peasants owned their own land and were not subjects of a lord. Peasants would work the fields
together as a family regardless of sex or age, although mostly men worked with the heavy plows and
women wove clothes during the least demanding seasons. The lands ... Show more content on

Sometimes the wife of the lord would preside over the peasants when the lord was away waging war,
indicating some gender equality. Feudalism originated around the ninth century around the collapse of
the Carolingian empire and aided in the rise of manorialism. During these times of anarchy, people
fought alongside warlords to seek protection from invaders. Invaders like the Vikings frequently
raided villages and churches for silver and food that severely damaged the Carolingian empire, which
proved that the bonds between warlords and their followers were stronger than the bond between the
king and his subjects. Eventually, warlords became lords and their followers became their vassals
through an oath and a special ceremony where the vassal kneeled down in front of the lord. Under this
oath, a vassal swore loyalty to their lord while the lord in return offered protection for the vassal.
Vassals would sometimes fight for their lord and help conquer the land of other lords, and help their
lord become the lord of other lords. In return for their services they were granted a fief, or a plot of
land. Knights would often rent out their land to

  • 3. Brick Wall Reflection My father was always sharing with me, his stored words of wisdom as a kid growing up. One in particular that I heard many times over, was, this world is made up of all kinds of people from all walks of life. You just never know what people are going through in their life s and do not deserved to be judged by anybody and by all means not to be judged by you. He followed up with the usual question, do you understand me? And from time to time, he would challenge me to make sure I did. He stressed for me to take ownership of your own responsibilities and treat everyone with the same respect, that you want in return. Do not turn your head, do not look down and never be disrespectful to anyone in passing. Always be the first to extend your hand with a simple gesture, because you never know, you might need that same hand to help you up. This brick wall represents the variation of tone and color of each brick. No two bricks are truly the same, but yet, very similar. My father continued with; the human race is very much like this brick wall, different shapes, different tones and colors, and from different places from all over the world. While viewing this presentation, the focus was highlighting to compare similarities between the bricks and the human races, attributes. But here is the true story behind the brick wall: It s the mortar between these bricks that give it, it s strength to with stand all weather conditions to last for years. • 7. The Concept Of Sin In Dante Alighieri s Inferno Dante Alighieri s Inferno is the first of three books in The Divine Comedy. A comedy in Dante s time didn t mean what it means today: a comedy was a piece of literature that moved from dark to light or from damnation to salvation in the eyes of God. In The Inferno, Dante delves into darkness and damnation, and his view of the nature of Hell. Dante was a devout Catholic, so most of his inspiration for The Inferno came from the Bible. In Dante s version of Hell, there are nine circles that reach to the center of the Earth: Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Avarice and Prodigality, Wrath and Sullenness, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery. Those who commit the least severe sins are put near the top, as in Limbo, and the worst sins at the bottom come with the worst punishments. Dante, the character in the book, is escorted by the poet Virgil to literally explore Dante s descent into sin. To better understand the book s concept of sin, the reader should compare the least sinful part of Hell, Limbo, to the most sinful part of Hell, the ninth circle where Satan is kept. The poem begins with Dante waking up in a forest. Dante tries to climb the mountain and sees three beasts: a leopard, a lion, and a wolf. Later, Dante meets Virgil, a Roman poet Dante is fond of, to help him climb the mountain. Virgil says they have to go through Hell first before reaching Heaven, where Beatrice, a woman Dante loved in real life, will be waiting for him. Eventually, Dante and Virgil get to the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With the increased desire to produce larger amounts on henequen in the Yucatan to support its monocrop economy, the complex consequently permanently altered the landscape and overall environment of the state. As mentioned previously, prior to the development of the henequen complex, the area could be described as a varied landscape on the remarkably flat Yucatan terrain. However, the Yucatan later bear more resemblance to a patchwork of haciendas, so much so that with the boom in henequen at the end of the century, haciendas and even the much venerated cattle ranches were converted to plantations. Thus, the henequen wheat complex played a significant role in permanently transforming the once diverse ecosystem of the Yucatan into a uniform landscape solely dedicated to the harvesting of one crop, the henequen. In addition to these environmental alterations, this complex as well as the established monocrop economy introduced deforestation and subsequent erosion that would ultimately cause the ecological improvishment of the henequen zone in which it was economically benefiting from. However, to others the henequen wheat complex can be considered a sustainable model since after the severe decline of henequen production following the 1980 s, Yucatan experienced much ecological improvement. • 25. Analysis Of Raphael Ravenscroft s The Moonlight Sonata... It is my belief that every instrument has an anthem, every instrument has an instantly recognizable piece that forms its epitome. Whether it be Beethoven s Moonlight Sonata for piano, Raphael Ravenscroft s Sax hook in Gerry Rafferty s Baker Street, or G.C Colemans s Amen Break which has been referred to as Six second drum break that shaped 1500 songs , every instrument has this end goal to strive for, for violin, this piece is Méditation Religieuse. Méditation, the dramatic interlude from the opera Thaïs by French composer Jules Massenet, like no other piece so thoroughly shows off the range and passion that in the right hands a violin can execute. No longer confined to the realm of the Opera; Massonett s Méditation has taken on a life of its own as a soloist piece. As a consequence, almost all of the great violinists of the modern age have graced it with their own unique spin such as: Jascha Heifetz, Andre Rieu, and of course Joshua Bell. Among them (means of obtaining human subjects for dissection) are the bodies of the executed, bodies stolen from graveyards, unclaimed bodies from poorhouses, hospitals and prisons, the bodies of suicides or duelists, and the bodies of persons murdered for the purpose of dissection (Hildebrandt p.2). These unconventional means were necessary until in the late 13th century and early 14th century Europe, dissection of the bodies of executed criminals was legalized (Perloff p. 6) but there has been a long standing opposition of the church to human dissections, especially the Roman empire. Comparing Michelangelo And Bernini s David One can see from the many depictions through paintings, sculptures, and architecture that the biblical young David served as an heroic influence and inspiration for many artists. The creation of these masterpieces, although constructed in different moments in time, individually display and bring out great emotional responses from its viewers. In Poe s The cask of Amontillado , a horror story in which a man sets out to kill his friend during a festival, his use of rhetoric allowed him to strike a sense of fear and anticipation into the audience. However, the main purpose of the rhetoric Poe used is in order to convey the explicit main idea of revenge and the implicit main idea of the price for foolishness. The explicit main idea of revenge in The Cask of Amontillado is conveyed to the reader through sundry rhetorical strategies. For example Montresor, the malefactor of his friend s murder, states that, THE thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge. From this, it is clearly seen the main idea is revenge. Furthermore, he tells the reader that in order for his revenge to be satisfactory he must, not only punish but punish with impunity. (Poe 1) In other words, he must seek revenge in such a manner that Fortunato will not know about him attempting to gain his vengeance until the last moment. On the other hand, the implicit main ideas of foolishness and violence are stated much more discreetly than the explicit main idea. In How to Read Literature Like a Professor, Foster provides an explanation for why Poe chose to have Montresor kill Fortunato by stating writers kill off characters for the same set of reasons make ... However, after the release of the first draft and the later completion of the full sequence in April of 2003, it was revealed that there were actually about 20,500 genes (NIH, 2015). Fluid and solute balance affects every organ system in the body, especially, the cardiovascular system, the nervous system, the genitourinary system, and the various fluid compartments such as the interstitial and intracellular spaces. Dehydration occurs when there is an extracellular fluid volume deficit and can originate from a variety of diverse causes. It can be the result of insufficient fluid intake, excess fluid loss, or a combination of the two. Common causes of excessive fluid loss that lead to dehydration include unmonitored ... These mechanisms include activation of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), which elicits systemic vasoconstriction (via catecholamine binding of α1 receptors) in an attempt to increase peripheral vascular resistance (PVR), and increases heart rate (via catecholamines binding to β1 receptors) in an attempt to increase CO, both of which are fundamental components of the blood pressure equation. This is done to maintain an adequate perfusion pressure in order to oxygenate the tissues and prevent hypoxic cell injury. If hypovolemia is present, the body will first shunt the blood away from less critical organs such as the GI tract in order to maintain perfusion of critical organs such as the brain, the heart system, and the kidneys. If hypovolemia and tissue hypoperfusion are severe enough, major organ damage will occur as a result of hypoxia (Copstead Banasik, 2013). This patient experienced clear signs of systemic tissue hypoperfusion secondary to severe hypovolemia as evidenced by his syncopal episode (cerebral hypoperfusion), his persistent pressure like chest pain (myocardial ischemia), and his acute renal failure (renal hypoperfusion). The fact that these critical organs were affected indicates just how severe his state of hypovolemia, hypotension, and hypoperfusion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a program that employed millions of young, unmarried men on environmental projects during the Great Depression from 1933 1942. The CCC was one of FDR s most popular and most successful New Deal programs. It employed 300,000 men that helped plant over three billion trees, constructed nature trails in more than 800 parks around the United States, and shaped the national parks we enjoy today (History.com). The CCC s impact can be noticed everyday all around the nation. The book Hitch by Jeanette Ingold is historically accurate with its portrayal of the Civilian Conservation Corps. This CCC stuff is just temporary for me, to bring in a little cash (Ingold 36). This quote gives a good representation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Compton is pretty angry in this quote because he is working beside criminals. In fact, Moss had been arrested for trespassing on railroad property. A lot of men and women were arrested for petty crimes, and many were sent to the CCC to get them off of the streets and to give people something to do. According to ccclegacy.com, one Chicago judge felt the CCC was largely responsible for the large reduction in crime. The CCC gave young men a job, taught them skills, and provided them with a lot of benefits. It gave them a sense of self worth and value as they helped their families, it helped the communities they worked in, and it boosted their own self esteem. Having real work to do charged up the guys (Ingold 285). The CCC was developed to create jobs that would boost the economy. The CCC specifically targeted young men, providing them with employment, food, and shelter. These young men often sent money home to their families. In exchange, the men received training and education that would stay with the throughout their lives. Besides economic benefits, the CCC also provided a lasting legacy in our country. There are 16 parks that were built by the CCC in South Carolina alone. The CCC was a resounding success for the New Deal and the country because it supplied jobs, education, and a place for young men to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Manorialism During The High Middle Ages Manorialism was an economic structure during the high middle ages that consisted of a lord and his vassals who served him and his wife. The serfs had more rights than slaves but they were tied to the land of their lord even when their land was captured by another lord. Unlike slaves, serfs could keep some of their crops and maintain their own family. Cottagers ranked below serfs and were only given cottage and a small plot of land to work on. At the top of the working class were freeholders. These peasants owned their own land and were not subjects of a lord. Peasants would work the fields together as a family regardless of sex or age, although mostly men worked with the heavy plows and women wove clothes during the least demanding seasons. The lands ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sometimes the wife of the lord would preside over the peasants when the lord was away waging war, indicating some gender equality. Feudalism originated around the ninth century around the collapse of the Carolingian empire and aided in the rise of manorialism. During these times of anarchy, people fought alongside warlords to seek protection from invaders. Invaders like the Vikings frequently raided villages and churches for silver and food that severely damaged the Carolingian empire, which proved that the bonds between warlords and their followers were stronger than the bond between the king and his subjects. Eventually, warlords became lords and their followers became their vassals through an oath and a special ceremony where the vassal kneeled down in front of the lord. Under this oath, a vassal swore loyalty to their lord while the lord in return offered protection for the vassal. Vassals would sometimes fight for their lord and help conquer the land of other lords, and help their lord become the lord of other lords. In return for their services they were granted a fief, or a plot of land. Knights would often rent out their land to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
