The And Its Effects On The Earth
Incas believed that before anything was created, there was a being called Viracocha Pachayachachi,
which translates to Creator of All Things . He then created everything in this universe and then he
created humans. When he created humans he gave them some rules such as there shall be no
quarrelling on earth. As they disobeyed this rule, Viracocha cursed the beings on earth. Some were
swallowed by the earth and some were swallowed by the sea. He then brought a flood that washed
away all the humans. After the flood Viracocha saved 2 humans who he called upon when he needed
help later on. Out from the dark depths of Lake Titicaca Viracocha bought eternal light to the new
earth summoning the sun, moon and the stars. Viracocha then created everyone differently. Some
women he painted as pregnant, some caring for their babies beside them and on each figure he painted
clothes so that they would continue to wear. He also carved out the different nations and tribes that he
wanted to exist. Viracocha then divided these stones up into separate groups and buried them in the
earth to wait for their command of summoning. After, Viracocha commanded his 2 helpers to travel
the earth to awake the people who were lying deep in earth in caves, streams, rivers and waterfall. He
sent one helper to east region and the other to west region. They were sent there to awaken the people
and inform them of the stories they have experienced. Viracocha then went to Cuzco. Along the way
he woke up the

Perception In The Truman Show
The film The Truman Show portrays an array of the ways of knowing continuously throughout. One
of these ways can easily be deciphered as intuition. The essential gut feeling can swallow up any other
reliable source solely because of a certain unexplainable phenomena pulling the heart and mind in
polar directions. Initially, it is Truman s intuition that over powers his refuting thoughts and this is
demonstrated when Truman explains his theory to Marlon, who then proceeds to invalidate it. This
leaves Truman empty handed and with a lack of reliable sources, except his intuition. The memory of
Sylvia s statement was the bases of Truman s instinctiveness and other events such as the sight of his
dead father further developed this gut feeling. The authenticity of these events cannot ... Show more

At the start of the film, Truman believes that he has a clear understanding of the reality in which he is
presented, but only through his mere sight. Eyes have a tendency to be deceiving, therefore, it should
take more than one out of the five senses to be reassured of a particular belief. The film follows
Truman as he soon begins to become skeptical of his surroundings, which in turn become the initial
cause of his route to discovering the truth. The doubt that beings to form within Truman, caused by his
sense of sight, could not support him entirely until it merges with his sense of touch. This is heavily
depicted in the duration of the final few scenes where Truman s ship collides with the sky. Despite
Truman seeing the solid plaster wall as a supposed sky, the moment he touches the wall with his bare
hands, his theory is comprehensively validated through the act of him breaking down into tears with
utter shock from realization. Forms of sense perception were put forth in order to convince Truman of
his ignorance to the falsehood of his alleged

The Effects of Marijuana Essay
People might think smoking marijuana is cool. They might try it without knowing what it is or what
affects is has on you. Once someone smokes it for the first time, they might keep doing it again and
again and they could get hooked on it for life. People who use marijuana usually never use any other
type of illegal drugs, but more than seven thousand five hundred people get arrested for using
marijuana every year. There is a wide variety of marijuana, but they are all based off of two marijuana
plants, Indica and Sativa. Marijuana is very popular in America, and all over the world. Marijuana

As soon as someone smells smoke that smells sweet and sour, they know that it is definitely marijuana
smoke. It can be used in many ways such as smoked, usually in joints, bongs, and blunts. Some people
even put it on their food and brew as tea! The two most common types of marijuana plants are Sativa
and Indica. The only differences are the Indica grows short and wide and are better suited to grow
inside. The Sativa are thin and tall and are suited to grow outside because they can even grow to reach
twenty five feet in height. Some popular types of marijuana are White Widow, Sour Diesel,
Bubblegum, Vortex, and Holland s Hope. All of them give the user the high feeling, which leaves
them happy and dizzy at the same time.
Marijuana was first used in ancient China by a Chinese Emperor by the name of Shen Nung. Even
Queen Victoria used it. Shen Nung the Chinese Emperor was the first recorded person who used
marijuana. He would use it as a pain killer during operations. In ancient India marijuana was holy. A
Hindu god by the name of Shiva gave hemp as a gift to all humanity. It was inexpensive and available
to almost everyone. It was known as The Poor Man s Heaven . Cannabis leaves were commonly
brewed, and they would add milk and sugar to make a drink. In ancient Rome there was a physician
named Galen. He recommended the use of marijuana to reduce pain in operations, or for just everyday
pains.

Clim Climbing Mount Everest Research Paper
Climbing Mount Everest is more technical than grabbing a big coat and some rope and trudging to the
top. There are weeks of training before hand to acclimate to the absurd altitudes. There is a base camp
and then 4 camps along the route to the top. Each camp allows the climbers to acclimate and allow
themselves to rest. Even then, at such high altitudes, acclimating may only help so much. High levels
of altitude can have effects on a person s body that can range from what would seem like a cold, to
death. Altitude has numerous effects on the body that can cause not only severe harm, but death.
Altitude sickness is very common in climbing Mount Everest. The higher altitude you are, and the
faster you get there, the you are to get this.

The Effects Of Social Media On Australian Contemporary...
BRIEF INTRODUCTION Good afternoon everyone I m here to talk about my Personal Interest
Project, which is based around the topic area FoMo ( defined by the Oxford dictionary as an anxiety
that an exciting or interesting event may currently be happening elsewhere, often aroused by posts
seen on a social media website. ) and its relation to adolescents using social media in Australian
contemporary society. FoMo is a concurrent issue in Australia (and internationally) amongst
teenagers, FoMo refers to a blend of anxiety, irritation, inadequacy, and depression while skimming
social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram FoMO is new, a concept brought about by the
digital era. WHY I CHOSE... I initially chose this area of investigation because i had no other ideas
for a PIP topic, time was running out, and so was my capacity for good ideas. However, with further
investigation and reflection on personal experiences into FoMo, I soon began to find myself becoming
more rapt with the phenomenon of how one photo or status update could impact an individual s self
concept and wellbeing. Secondary research described the nature of FoMo as feelings of inadequacy
and anxiety mainly catalysed by living in a Western Society. I thought it was interesting how even big
marketing companies were using an internet meme as a basis for research. HYPOTHESIS And thus, i
had decided my hypothesis would be: how FoMo has become a psychological reality entity and how it
affects

Silent Film The Artist And Singin In The Rain
The Artist is a film set in the silent film era that is an almost silent film itself and I found it incredibly
effective that a film about the silent film era is practically silent itself. The lack of spoken dialogue
and diegetic sound makes it ever so clear to the viewer that this movie is about the silent film era and
it is attempting to make a statement about that style of film. Although the advent and surge in
popularity of talkies has been addressed in other films, such as Singin in the Rain, The Artist is unique
in that it addresses the takeover of talkies in the context of a silent film. Prior to watching The Artist, I
read a short synopsis of the plot, so I somewhat knew what to expect from the plot of the film and it
seemed like a film that I would enjoy. My husband had seen the film previously, and said that he
enjoyed it, but because his opinions of films can differ so greatly from mine, I wasn t sure how to
interpret his enjoyment of the film. Before I watched The Artist, my expectation was that it would be
an enjoyable, interesting almost silent film, with what feels like a stereotypical plot line ( washed up

The cinematography and cinematic language were quite effective, and although I initially suspected
that the plot would ultimately be satisfying but stale, I was pleased that it surpassed my expectations.
The plot ended up feeling like a fresh take on an old standard, in large part due to the setting and the
cinematic language used. I generally struggle to ascertain anything beyond the surface when I am
watching films, and I found that by watching The Artist with the intent of analyzing certain aspects of
it, I was more engaged and enjoyed it more than I think I would have

I unfolded the little piece of paper handed to me.when I started riding my hand was steady, but it

Bob: I was at the appointed place on time. When you struck the match to light your cigar I saw it was

The Influence Of Music Education
The Influence of Music Education on Our Modernised Day
Music education is the study associated with the teaching and learning of music. It includes the
appreciation and sensitivity of music which helps in the development of the affective domain. The
involvement of music is a fundamental component to human s behaviour and culture. Today, many
country provide music education from preschool through postsecondary as the result of music
education have brought many benefits in a way such as the children s concentration, their logic and
problem solving skills, their communication, their emotional intelligence and their cultural
understanding. (Hermann Hudde) Music education had been playing an important role in building the
interpersonal and intrapersonal ability of oneself.
According to the research of Eva Brand and Ora Bar Gil, learning music carry side benefits to us, one
of these is the potential to enhanced interpersonal abilities through listening activities. Listening is a
core skill that may increase the interpersonal effectiveness of individuals and communication. It is a
learnable skill, although it is not widely taught in school, but it may have long term implications for
quality of life at an individual and community level. Besides that, listening ... Show more content on

The Macroscopic Material Behavior Of Concrete
The macroscopic material behavior of concrete is influenced by the geometry, spatial distribution and
material properties of individual material constituents and their mutual interactions. Therefore, it is
essential to study the influence of each material constituent in order to estimate the residual strength of
the structural components. Thus, failure of concrete is a complex phenomenon due to its multiscale
and multiphase nature. When the normal stress in a material reaches its tensile strength, the
inhomogeneities in concrete promote the formation of an inelastic zone ahead of an existing crack
termed as the fracture process zone (FPZ). The FPZ is dominated by various complicated mechanisms
such as crack shielding, crack deflection, aggregate bridging and microcracking around the crack tip
and exhibits a post peak softening behavior under tensile loading. It therefore becomes necessary to
include these effects for predicting reasonably well the residual strength of existing cracked and
damaged structures.
Bridging of coarse aggregate occurs when the crack advances beyond an aggregate that continues to
transmit stress across the crack until it ruptures or is pulled out. The bridging aggregate may be
considered to exert a closing pressure on the crack surface thereby resisting the crack growth and its
magnitude strongly depends on the interfacial properties between coarse aggregate and cement mortar.
Upon loading of plain concrete beams under three point bending, it is

Analysis Of Gloria Anzaldua s Poem, The And English, A...
Southwestern America is home to numerous cultures, all of which intermingle and interact on a daily
basis. This creates a wealth of literature and art from the perspective of those who live with such a
variation of experiences. Authors and artists experiencing the culture associated with being a part of
many communities show the culture as they see it through their work. One such author is Gloria
Anzaldua. In her poem, To Live in the Borderlands Means You, Gloria Anzaldua reveals her identity
as a multicultural woman and the struggles that she faces in doing so. She relates this through the use
of Spanish and English, first person perspective, and gender. Acculturation was first defined by
Redfield and colleagues as a phenomenon which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Initially, the sight of Spanish within a work that is primarily English is unexpected, forcing readers to
take a moment to fully comprehend the text. Anzaldua s use of Spanish utilizes this quality, but it also
demonstrates her flexibility in language and the way that both Spanish and English play important
roles in how she identifies herself. Both languages are a part of Anzaldua, and applying them
acknowledges her refusal to conform into one simple stereotype or idea. The poem is written from the
second person perspective, placing the reader into Anzaldua s viewpoint. Anzaldua could easily
employ first person perspective, using the pronouns I or me to describe her experiences, yet she did
not. Instead, she uses the pronoun you. This is a bold choice that forces readers to see Anzaldua s
experience from her viewpoint. Second person perspective is evident before the poem is even read. To
Live in the Borderlands Means You is both the title and the phrase repeated in some form at the
beginning of each stanza. Such a strong statement acts almost as a call to action that captures readers
and tells them of the experience of living in the borderlands. Each stanza frames the reader as the
person experiencing life as Anzaldua experiences it, creating a more intimate relationship with the
text. First or third person perspective creates a narrative setup in which the poem is directed at the
world around the reader, giving them a view into the poem

Breast Feeding Vs. The Bottle
Breast feeding vs. The Bottle: The Decision is yours Some mothers have to give up breastfeeding even
though they want to breastfeed. To give up breastfeeding can be a sensitive issue in a time when
breastfeeding is promoted as the healthiest for mother and child (Larsen Kronborg, 2013, p. 848). The
debate over whether breast feeding is better than bottle feeding or vice versa has been a debate for
many years. With more and more research that is continuously being developed, the option to breast
feed or bottle feed is ultimately up to the parents of the child. Although the decision could be based on
factors such as a physical incapability or financial burdens, the end result should always be what is
going to be best for the baby. As research continues to grow, there has been proven evidence of the
positive and negative aspects that come with breast feeding and bottle feeding.
The Benefits of Breast Feeding Starting from infancy, parents have the right to make the decisions in
their new child s life, which includes breast feeding their child. Infant nutrition is important in
development and health throughout life (Klag, McNamara, Geraghty, Keim, 2015, p. 1059) Although
the process has been known to bring some complications and many attempts, the end result has been
proven to be beneficial to not only the infant during that time but can be tracked in their life down the
line. The decision to breast feed is a decision that will not only impact the child, but can also

Social Structure And Hierarchy At The Gym
For the deviance assignment I decided to break the social norms that are prevalent in the gym while
working out. Cal Poly has a very active campus that uses the gym very regularly. The gym has its own
set of rules and norms that are followed by everyone. I personally do not spend a lot of time in the
gym so to prepare I watched 30 minutes of YouTube videos and read multiple lists of unwritten gym
rules and things not to do at the gym. The social structure and hierarchy at the gym is different than
real life. The gym social structure is based on how much muscle the person has and for how long the
person has been lifting. Therefore, I was at the bottom due to the fact that I am rail thin and do not
work out regularly. As someone at the bottom of the social order I was for the most part ignored,
similar to how one ignores the poor and homeless. The only way to get a reaction out of people was to
act out and disturb the social order. No one offered to help me and spend time with me to improve out
of the goodness of his or her heart, most people stick to themselves. The only way to be noticed is to
act out, similar to how poor people and homeless act out to get attention because they do not know
any other way. The only person to talk to me and tell me that I was messing around was a male in his
30 s who was very muscular and was a workout regular. He, in the social structure, is much higher and
the advice is similar to a teacher speaking down to a student. He told me that

The Olympic Games Of The Games
The Olympic games originated in Athens in 776 B.C. The more popular modern day Olympic games
began nearly 2300 years later in 1896. The games no longer represented a religious festival, but a
sports competition instead. The games can be studied via multiple aspects such as political, social, and
economic, but this paper will concentrate on the economic aspect of the games and more specifically,
the macroeconomic impacts the games possess. It is evident that hosting the Olympics games is no
walk in the park. The countries trusted with this task have to spend billions to make the games a
reality. Some people believe that the countries, even after spending billions of dollars benefit from the
games, while others believe that the money can be spent elsewhere more efficiently. To reach a
conclusion, one must study all of the different impacts in all of the different sectors the games have.
London was not the only option when it came to the 2012 summer Olympics. France was also in the
running and was actually pretty close to getting the gig. London won the bidding race with 54 50 votes
from the International Olympic Committee. The need of some economic spark for London s economy
may have been the reason why the vote went their way. London s economy had been stuck in a
recession for almost a nine month period. The question was: Are the Olympics going to provide a
positive benefit for London s economy?
Employment
Preparing for the Olympics takes a lot of time, effort and money.

Nondiegetic music of the Doors in the scene waiting in Saigon
Sound plays a significant part in all movies and one of the most interesting of all the sound techniques
would be the use of nondiegetic music. In the movie Apocalypse Now, there is a double disc
soundtrack with thirty tracks on it. The one song on there that has the most meaning would The Doors
song The End . This song not only set the mood for the scene waiting in Saigon and the move as a
whole but is also used to foreshadow the death of Coronal Kurtis. Mr. Coppola, the director of the
film, was a genius for picking this song to represent the movie. It not only fits the movie with the

This music is used to bring a hallucinatory intensity to the movie. Without the song in the background
all we would see is the destruction that the war had on the jungle. With the music we get more of
feeling of the destruction that it had mentally, not only physically on Willard mind. We get the sense
that Willard knows something that we as viewers don t and is trying to forewarn us that something is
going to end. The first spoken words of the song add the needed intensity to the sequence and the
whole movie. To let the viewers know that something is going to end. Whither it is the end of the war,
or the end of a life.
As we move into the montage sequence of shots, the music words are used to express what we are
seeing on screen. Mr. Coppola uses the rest of the sequence to foreshadow what is going to happen at
the end of the movie. This is the main function of the song in the movie, which is to get the viewers
mind thinking about the end of the movie. It starts out with an overlapping dissolve from the burning
jungle into Willard s burnt wet face. As the dissolve leads to Willard s face we hear the song say, I ll
never look into your eyes...again. This symbolizes death. We get the sense through the music that
someone, either Willard or someone else in the move, is going to die. The music is still playing as we
get a delusional view of what Willard is thinking about. Then we get to another shot where we see a

the core of the systems they both have a micro kernel which addresses thread management, space
management and other communications at the system level and is more resistant to attacks from a
virus.
Mac OS X is a powerful development platform; it supports multiple development technologies like

Apple also wants as many developers as it can get for the Operating System; therefore they have

Decision support systems assist managers who must make decisions that are not highly structured,
often called unstructured or semi structured decisions. A decision is considered unstructured if there
are no clear procedures for making the decision and if not all the factors to be considered in the
decision can be readily identified in advance. Judgement of the manager plays a vital role in decision
making where the problem is not structured. The decision support system supports, but does not
replace, judgement of manager.
4. Office Automation Systems
Office automation systems are among the newest and most rapidly expanding computer based
information systems. They are being developed with the hopes and expectations that they will increase
the efficiency and productivity of office workers typists, secretaries, administrative assistants, staff
professionals, managers and the like. Many organisations have taken the First step toward automating
their offices. Often this step involves the use of word processing equipment to facilitate the typing,
storing, revising and printing of textual materials. Another development is a computer based
communications system such as electronic mail which allows people to communicate in an electronic
mode through computer terminals. An office automation system can be described as a multi function,

Prisons Ineffective In Prisons
Canadian prisons are ineffective at rehabilitating inmates due to overcrowded conditions and failure of
proper preparation of reintegration into society. Overcrowding is when more people are placed into a
confined space, than it can actually hold. Factors that lead to the cause of failure in the correctional
system consist of gender biases, cultural biases, and the lack of rehabilitative resources/social support.
Mandatory minimum sentencing and substance abuse also play a role in increased incarceration rates.
When a crime is committed, the offender is taken to court where a judge will determine if the offender
is innocent or guilty. If the offender is found guilty, the penalties may include the following;
community service, a fine, or incarceration for a certain amount of time depending on the severity of
the crime committed. The purpose of the Canadian prison system is to serve justice to both society,
and the law breaker. Justice is served to society by punishing criminals with isolation from society at
large. The criminal is served justice through receiving rehabilitation in order to successfully
reintegrate into society, once released from incarceration. The focus of Canadian prisons should first

Summary Of Pete Rose An American Dilemma
ntroduction The author of the book Pete Rose An American Dilemma is Kostya Kennedy. The book
was published in 2014. It has 315 pages in total.
Rationale I chose this book because I am a huge Cincinnati Reds fan. I also am aware of the Pete Rose
situation and wanted to learn more about him.
Author The title of the book is Pete Rose An American Dilemma. I think Kostya Kennedy picked this
title because Pete Rose is a dilemma for baseball fans. On one hand we see all of the accomplishments
he has achieved in baseball. You could argue that he is the greatest baseball player ever. However, we
also know that he has bet on baseball games he has played in. What we don t know is whether those
bets ever affected the outcome of a game. So, Pete ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Harry Rose Harry, Pete s dad, was 5 9 , 175 pounds, had blue eyes, straight jawline and a wide nose..
He was a semi pro football player who embodied the phrase no bull . He never missed a day of work,
always looked you right in the eye when he talked to you, and gave a firm handshake. In many ways
Pete was a mirror image of his father Harry.
Characterization In this book, Pete changed in multiple ways. In the beginning, Pete learned that you
had to earn everything in life and he kept that with him his entire life. However, with all the success he
gained, he also gained a cockiness. When the commissioner of baseball asked him why he bet on
baseball his answer was I thought I could get away with it. Pete learned that even though you may
deserve to be in the Hall of Fame one mistake could cost you everything and in his case, it did.
Setting Pete grew up on the west side of Cincinnati. His boyhood home was 4404 Braddock Street. It
was a three bedroom home on a hill near the Ohio River. The house wasn t spectacular but was a nice
enough house for the Rose s. Pete lived here up until after his rookie season. He continued to live in
Cincinnati, the west side of course, and moved to Philadelphia and Montreal for a few short years
while playing for local

Research Paper On Marfan Syndrome
Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder. A mutation, or change, in the gene that controls how the body
makes fibrillin causes Marfan syndrome. Fibrillin is a protein that plays a major role in your body s

Sometimes Marfan syndrome isn t inherited. The mutation in the fibrillin gene occurs in the egg or

Toyota Organizational Culture
Different and many definitions about organizational culture have been given since managers started to
use this term at late of 80s , when it became widely known.
The term of organizational culture is defined as the whole of ideas, company mission, values,
expectations, goals and behavioral theories or spiritual parameters shared by a group of people or
members of the organization.
According to Edgar Schein (2006) organizational culture is a structure of common assumptions that
are distributed among all members of the group to solve internal and external problems of an

Toyota Motor Corporation starting from April 16 of 2016, has unveiled a new management structure

added through this new management structure, in which nine product and region based business units
will compete with and learn from one another, while operating alongside TMC s Head Office. When a
large organization such as TMC produces products for different markets, this structure works because
each department is an autonomous group. For that purpose TMC will create seven product based in

Emotional Labour In Australia
In a global world, post industrial economies are required to focus on the workforce s emotional labour,
particularly in service and blue collar areas due to the emotional impact that certain situations and
work place interactions require of the employee. In Australia Emotional labour is a key issue in
Human Resources and People management and is a focus of Industrial relations due to the
significance of these interactions on the wider community. Emotional labour is a human emotive
process produced at a personal level which involves the sacrifice of one s personal emotions in order
to provide the face of the company and to present a certain disposition that promotes a feeling of well
being on another. In 1979 Airlie Hochschild provided the first definition of emotional labour the
management of feeling to create a publicly observable facial and bodily display (Hochschild, 1979).
Since Hochschild s definition, thirty seven years have passed and the argument as to whether
emotional labour is beneficial or detrimental to the workplace has led to dramatic developments of HR
practices since the shift of a post industrial economy in advanced countries like Australia. ... Show

Assignment On Divine Law
STUDY QUESTIONS
Chapter 4: On Divine Law
1. What does it mean to know the divine law?
Basically, divine law is the kind of law that is not forced by any punishment or rewards in order to
follow them. Knowing divine law means acting good and behaving in a way that follows the nature
and how thing are; as an example, serving in the interest of nature which is understanding that all and
every human are free and every person should have their own freedom and choice and not abusing
others and doing your best to follow everything in nature in its own way. Following the divine law
automatically is following the law of God because law of nature is exactly the law of God and how he
made everything. Therefore, people who follow the divine law do not need any force to act and
behave correctly because they truly believe in their heart and mind to the law of nature and law of God
and they would not do anything but all the stuff that are correct in nature/God law.
2. What is the difference between joy and suffering?
Difference between joy and suffering as its explained in the text is that when God gave us the law of
nature and also gave us the free choice which is the freedom that we can choose between good and
evil acts, he provided us with our own good and bad. If a person decide to act good and follow the
divine law he is making himself joyful and helping himself/herself to be the person he/she decides and
if the person choose to act bad and not follow the path of nature law he/she is

that is the sheer numbers the Union had and could produce compared to the Confederacy. In the Battle
of Antietam, the Union army consisted of 65,000 men, where as the Confederacy only consisted of
40,000. One huge advantage that the Union had in this before the battle is originally General Robert E.
Lee planned on fighting somewhere else, but Confederate curries lose the opord for the attack which
Union cavalry found bringing it back to General McClellan giving him a massive advantage. Another
advantage the Union army has in this battle is the battle occurred in Maryland, which is Union
territory giving them the better advantage of using the terrain to their advantage. The beginning of the
battle started at the Battle of South Mountain. This was an attack led by 38,000 Union soldiers against
only 12,000 defending Confederate troops, where the Confederate soldiers ended up being pushed
back around dusk before the main battle began. By the end of this pre battle the Union ended up with
2,500 Union casualties and the Confederate taking a loss of 3,800 casualties. The significant factor of
this was General Lee made it look like he outnumbered General McClellan, but if he were to use his

Gentrification In Global Cities Essay
Each of the three characteristic contribute to economic growth that subsequently affects social and
spatial relationships within global cities. Sassen states that, Research covering the last two and even
three decades shows sharp increases in socioeconomic and spatial inequalities within major cities of
the developed world and now increasingly also in cities of the global South (Sassen, 241). With the
rise of global cities and an increase in socioeconomic inequalities comes gentrification. Gentrification

Since the mid 1970 s there has been economic and social transformation in the economy in terms of
specific form of urban labor (Sassen, 246). A key shift is the change in occupational and industrial
employment which has also seen a shift in balance. Sassen states that, Such shifts directly affect the
mix of job characteristics, including earnings levels and employment stability, and the types of careers
available to local workers (Sassen , 246). The new type of flexibility leads to an increase in flexible
employment and precarious work. This means that there is an increase in part time jobs that include no
regular scheduling, no set hours and can be highly unstable for the employee. With this also comes the
rise of jobs paying under the poverty level. This affects different cities because workers under the
poverty level can not maintain a middle class level of living, thus shaping the decline of the middle.
Instead of having more areas of middle class structure there is an increase in the separation between
high and low. An example of this can be seen throughout cities with the decrease in middle retail,
which means that there is large separation between the retail to high end and low end, but not much in
the middle. Aside from retail, labor markets in cities are also structures around sets of jobs that are

Essay On Ambulatory Care
Ambulatory care, also known as outpatient care consists of care that is done outside of the hospital

Liquidity And Liquidity Risk Management Essay
Liquidity and Liquidity Risk Assets come in many forms, differentiating in their liquidity. Liquidity,
by definition, is how easy an asset can be traded (Hertrich, 2015). Different assets have different
abilities to be traded, cash being the easiest; hence cash is the most liquid asset. This causes price
differentiation, where more liquid assets have higher price tags and lower trading costs (Hertrich,
2015). This makes more liquid assets more attractive for investors. When assets have low liquidity
there are risks involved for investors because there is a chance that the asset cannot be turned into cash
when needed. Liquidity risk calculates the difficulty of selling an asset in return for cash (Currie,
2011). Liquidity risk is associated with low liquidity; hence there is a negative relationship between
liquidity and liquidity risk (Hertrich, 2015). This implies that the higher the liquidity risk of the asset,
the less the possibility the asset can be traded.
Typically, financial markets in developed countries are liquid; however, in the US during the Global
Financial Crisis [GFC], many homeowners were unable to sell their houses due to declining prices and
falling demand, so the housing market became illiquid (Currie, 2011). The GFC demonstrated how
volatile liquidity can be and that liquidity disruption could be system wide, seen by its global effect
(Bessis, 2015). During the GFC, there was also a systemic bank crisis. At a bank s perspective,

The Puritans Religious Beliefs
Critics often paint the Puritans as a miserable people, whose only concern was protecting themselves
from the outside world. This, however, is not the only supposed offense the Puritans committed. These

  • 2. The And Its Effects On The Earth Incas believed that before anything was created, there was a being called Viracocha Pachayachachi, which translates to Creator of All Things . He then created everything in this universe and then he created humans. When he created humans he gave them some rules such as there shall be no quarrelling on earth. As they disobeyed this rule, Viracocha cursed the beings on earth. Some were swallowed by the earth and some were swallowed by the sea. He then brought a flood that washed away all the humans. After the flood Viracocha saved 2 humans who he called upon when he needed help later on. Out from the dark depths of Lake Titicaca Viracocha bought eternal light to the new earth summoning the sun, moon and the stars. Viracocha then created everyone differently. Some women he painted as pregnant, some caring for their babies beside them and on each figure he painted clothes so that they would continue to wear. He also carved out the different nations and tribes that he wanted to exist. Viracocha then divided these stones up into separate groups and buried them in the earth to wait for their command of summoning. After, Viracocha commanded his 2 helpers to travel the earth to awake the people who were lying deep in earth in caves, streams, rivers and waterfall. He sent one helper to east region and the other to west region. They were sent there to awaken the people and inform them of the stories they have experienced. Viracocha then went to Cuzco. Initially, it is Truman s intuition that over powers his refuting thoughts and this is demonstrated when Truman explains his theory to Marlon, who then proceeds to invalidate it. This leaves Truman empty handed and with a lack of reliable sources, except his intuition. The memory of Sylvia s statement was the bases of Truman s instinctiveness and other events such as the sight of his dead father further developed this gut feeling. The authenticity of these events cannot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the start of the film, Truman believes that he has a clear understanding of the reality in which he is presented, but only through his mere sight. Eyes have a tendency to be deceiving, therefore, it should take more than one out of the five senses to be reassured of a particular belief. The film follows Truman as he soon begins to become skeptical of his surroundings, which in turn become the initial cause of his route to discovering the truth. The doubt that beings to form within Truman, caused by his sense of sight, could not support him entirely until it merges with his sense of touch. This is heavily depicted in the duration of the final few scenes where Truman s ship collides with the sky. Despite Truman seeing the solid plaster wall as a supposed sky, the moment he touches the wall with his bare hands, his theory is comprehensively validated through the act of him breaking down into tears with utter shock from realization. Forms of sense perception were put forth in order to convince Truman of his ignorance to the falsehood of his alleged ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

BRIEF INTRODUCTION Good afternoon everyone I m here to talk about my Personal Interest Project, which is based around the topic area FoMo ( defined by the Oxford dictionary as an anxiety that an exciting or interesting event may currently be happening elsewhere, often aroused by posts seen on a social media website. ) and its relation to adolescents using social media in Australian contemporary society. FoMo is a concurrent issue in Australia (and internationally) amongst teenagers, FoMo refers to a blend of anxiety, irritation, inadequacy, and depression while skimming social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram FoMO is new, a concept brought about by the digital era. WHY I CHOSE... I initially chose this area of investigation because i had no other ideas for a PIP topic, time was running out, and so was my capacity for good ideas. However, with further investigation and reflection on personal experiences into FoMo, I soon began to find myself becoming more rapt with the phenomenon of how one photo or status update could impact an individual s self concept and wellbeing. Secondary research described the nature of FoMo as feelings of inadequacy and anxiety mainly catalysed by living in a Western Society. I thought it was interesting how even big marketing companies were using an internet meme as a basis for research. Silent Film The Artist And Singin In The Rain The Artist is a film set in the silent film era that is an almost silent film itself and I found it incredibly effective that a film about the silent film era is practically silent itself. The lack of spoken dialogue and diegetic sound makes it ever so clear to the viewer that this movie is about the silent film era and it is attempting to make a statement about that style of film. Although the advent and surge in popularity of talkies has been addressed in other films, such as Singin in the Rain, The Artist is unique in that it addresses the takeover of talkies in the context of a silent film. Prior to watching The Artist, I read a short synopsis of the plot, so I somewhat knew what to expect from the plot of the film and it seemed like a film that I would enjoy. My husband had seen the film previously, and said that he enjoyed it, but because his opinions of films can differ so greatly from mine, I wasn t sure how to interpret his enjoyment of the film. • 10. The Macroscopic Material Behavior Of Concrete The macroscopic material behavior of concrete is influenced by the geometry, spatial distribution and material properties of individual material constituents and their mutual interactions. Therefore, it is essential to study the influence of each material constituent in order to estimate the residual strength of the structural components. Thus, failure of concrete is a complex phenomenon due to its multiscale and multiphase nature. When the normal stress in a material reaches its tensile strength, the inhomogeneities in concrete promote the formation of an inelastic zone ahead of an existing crack termed as the fracture process zone (FPZ). The FPZ is dominated by various complicated mechanisms such as crack shielding, crack deflection, aggregate bridging and microcracking around the crack tip and exhibits a post peak softening behavior under tensile loading. It therefore becomes necessary to include these effects for predicting reasonably well the residual strength of existing cracked and damaged structures. Bridging of coarse aggregate occurs when the crack advances beyond an aggregate that continues to transmit stress across the crack until it ruptures or is pulled out. The bridging aggregate may be considered to exert a closing pressure on the crack surface thereby resisting the crack growth and its magnitude strongly depends on the interfacial properties between coarse aggregate and cement mortar. This creates a wealth of literature and art from the perspective of those who live with such a variation of experiences. Authors and artists experiencing the culture associated with being a part of many communities show the culture as they see it through their work. One such author is Gloria Anzaldua. In her poem, To Live in the Borderlands Means You, Gloria Anzaldua reveals her identity as a multicultural woman and the struggles that she faces in doing so. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Initially, the sight of Spanish within a work that is primarily English is unexpected, forcing readers to take a moment to fully comprehend the text. Anzaldua s use of Spanish utilizes this quality, but it also demonstrates her flexibility in language and the way that both Spanish and English play important roles in how she identifies herself. Both languages are a part of Anzaldua, and applying them acknowledges her refusal to conform into one simple stereotype or idea. The poem is written from the second person perspective, placing the reader into Anzaldua s viewpoint. Anzaldua could easily employ first person perspective, using the pronouns I or me to describe her experiences, yet she did not. Instead, she uses the pronoun you. This is a bold choice that forces readers to see Anzaldua s experience from her viewpoint. Second person perspective is evident before the poem is even read. To Live in the Borderlands Means You is both the title and the phrase repeated in some form at the beginning of each stanza. Such a strong statement acts almost as a call to action that captures readers and tells them of the experience of living in the borderlands. Each stanza frames the reader as the person experiencing life as Anzaldua experiences it, creating a more intimate relationship with the text. To give up breastfeeding can be a sensitive issue in a time when breastfeeding is promoted as the healthiest for mother and child (Larsen Kronborg, 2013, p. 848). The debate over whether breast feeding is better than bottle feeding or vice versa has been a debate for many years. With more and more research that is continuously being developed, the option to breast feed or bottle feed is ultimately up to the parents of the child. Although the decision could be based on factors such as a physical incapability or financial burdens, the end result should always be what is going to be best for the baby. Overcrowding is when more people are placed into a confined space, than it can actually hold. Factors that lead to the cause of failure in the correctional system consist of gender biases, cultural biases, and the lack of rehabilitative resources/social support. Mandatory minimum sentencing and substance abuse also play a role in increased incarceration rates. When a crime is committed, the offender is taken to court where a judge will determine if the offender is innocent or guilty. If the offender is found guilty, the penalties may include the following; community service, a fine, or incarceration for a certain amount of time depending on the severity of the crime committed. The purpose of the Canadian prison system is to serve justice to both society, and the law breaker. Justice is served to society by punishing criminals with isolation from society at large. The criminal is served justice through receiving rehabilitation in order to successfully reintegrate into society, once released from incarceration. One huge advantage that the Union had in this before the battle is originally General Robert E. Since the mid 1970 s there has been economic and social transformation in the economy in terms of specific form of urban labor (Sassen, 246). A key shift is the change in occupational and industrial employment which has also seen a shift in balance. Sassen states that, Such shifts directly affect the mix of job characteristics, including earnings levels and employment stability, and the types of careers available to local workers (Sassen , 246). The new type of flexibility leads to an increase in flexible employment and precarious work. This means that there is an increase in part time jobs that include no regular scheduling, no set hours and can be highly unstable for the employee. With this also comes the rise of jobs paying under the poverty level. This affects different cities because workers under the poverty level can not maintain a middle class level of living, thus shaping the decline of the middle. Instead of having more areas of middle class structure there is an increase in the separation between high and low. An example of this can be seen throughout cities with the decrease in middle retail, which means that there is large separation between the retail to high end and low end, but not much in the middle. Aside from retail, labor markets in cities are also structures around sets of jobs that are very particular (Sassen, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Liquidity And Liquidity Risk Management Essay Liquidity and Liquidity Risk Assets come in many forms, differentiating in their liquidity. Liquidity, by definition, is how easy an asset can be traded (Hertrich, 2015). Different assets have different abilities to be traded, cash being the easiest; hence cash is the most liquid asset. This causes price differentiation, where more liquid assets have higher price tags and lower trading costs (Hertrich, 2015). This makes more liquid assets more attractive for investors. When assets have low liquidity there are risks involved for investors because there is a chance that the asset cannot be turned into cash when needed. Liquidity risk calculates the difficulty of selling an asset in return for cash (Currie, 2011). Liquidity risk is associated with low liquidity; hence there is a negative relationship between liquidity and liquidity risk (Hertrich, 2015). This implies that the higher the liquidity risk of the asset, the less the possibility the asset can be traded. Typically, financial markets in developed countries are liquid; however, in the US during the Global Financial Crisis [GFC], many homeowners were unable to sell their houses due to declining prices and falling demand, so the housing market became illiquid (Currie, 2011). The GFC demonstrated how volatile liquidity can be and that liquidity disruption could be system wide, seen by its global effect (Bessis, 2015). During the GFC, there was also a systemic bank crisis. This, however, is not the only supposed offense the Puritans committed. These critics then protest that the Puritans, fixated on their desire of creating a skewed reality, eagerly stripped away any right one had that might contradict this delusional existence! Contrary to this opinion, the Massachusetts colony proved to be a community knitted together in their longing to serve God and desire to know their God given liberties on these controversial issues of their day: marriages and families; physical labors and charitable activities; and finally, education and government. First, the Puritans understanding of Biblical principles permitted them the freedom to enjoy the liberties God gave married couples, which ensured a stable foundation for raising a godly family. During this period, the Roman Catholic Church had continuously condemned sex between married persons while praising virginity to the point of worshiping it. However, the Puritans believed this view twisted God s purpose for marriage and assumed the ideology came from the devil himself. The Puritans considered sex not only to be natural but necessary in bonding a husband and wife in the union God ordained!
