Rhetoric Of Obama
America as we probably am aware it affluent, effective, confident is not what Obama needs. He needs
a little America, a poorer America, an America not able to apply its will, an America upbeat to be one
power among numerous, an America in decay so that different countries may rise all for the sake of
worldwide reasonableness. To Obama, the loathed one percent isn t quite recently affluent Americas; it
is America itself. In Obama s view, America should be brought down a peg.
That is the startling finish of top of the line creator Dinesh D Souza in Obama s America. Expanding

The truly difficult work of racial governmental issues is finished by Steele, who, clarifying that he, as
well, is the offspring of an interracial couple, depicts, as far as his own understanding, the dark
individual s technique for being loved by whites (abstaining from appearing to be furious). Be that as
it may, in declaring that Obama owes his ascent to being aided by whites, he repeats another anti
agents generalization, that of the reliant dark individual who lives grayish individuals abundance and
blame. D Souza suggests that Obama was chosen as an analgesic to that blame and came to office as a
void image and an unexamined amount, whose inclinations and most profound standards that s
covered outrage have been kept under tight restraints by the possibility of reelection. With respect to
the genuine condition of race relations in America the motion picture offers not a word about it; the

International Cricket Essay
South Africa is one country where India have always been found out. Only two victories out of 17 Test
matches in the Rainbow Nation, is a clear reflection of their struggle on those wickets, where there has
been a plenty of pace, bounce and sideways movement for the fast bowlers, both in the air and off the
pitch. In fact, in international cricket, for any team, winning a Test series in South Africa is regarded
as one of the toughest challenges and no team barring England and Australia have achieved this glory
so far. Hence, prior to such a high profile assignment, your preparations have to be full proof if you
are going there with a realistic chance of winning a series which according to many experts, Virat
Kohli s Indian team has on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To acclimatise themselves to the English conditions, they got just one three day game before the first
Test and one in the middle of the series. Later that year, in Australia, they were again whitewashed in
the four Test series. There too they played one two day followed by one three day game before the
first Test. Following those series of overseas defeats, there was a lot of hue and cry in the Indian
cricket fraternity. Despite that, in the next tours of England and Australia, the Indians got only one
extra warm up game. They lost both the series with 3 1 and 0 2 margins respectively. Once again, prior
to this important tour of South Africa, the same lethargic approach is being repeated by BCCI.
However, this lack of co operation from the board has recently forced the Indian team management to
come out with a radical idea of using the just concluded India Sri Lanka series as a warm up for the
tour of South Africa. The thank thank tried to emulate the foreign conditions by asking for green
tracks for the series. Yes [we requested for the pace friendly wickets], because unfortunately, we get
only two days before we fly to South Africa after this series gets over. So, we have no choice but be in
a game situation and think of what s coming ahead of us. Had we got a month off, we would have
done a proper preparation in a camp sort of scenario, the Indian captain had to no hesitation to

Validation of the Enterprise Ontology and Information Security Capability Driven Framework is
obtained from the creation of a business strategy to business capability value map and quantification
of key business and security metrics. A set of ontology based competency questions allows the
business to understand and make informed and prudent decisions regarding how and where security
should be applied to ensure a favourable outcome for the enterprise. Analysis of the results of this
study demonstrates the usefulness of the model in guiding the organization to assess current security
risks and make informed and business directed security decisions. The result is a deployment strategy
that balances the scarce resources of the enterprise whilst maintaining strategic alignment. Further
opportunities exist to improve the creation and quality of enterprise ontology including development
of a more rigorous and systematic approach to modelling the enterprise s current state and future state
scenarios using the business capability framework. Semantically driven conceptual models of the
enterprise may also be expressed within key security technologies and systems that support the
organization by forming a collection of ontology aware technologies that respond and react

Being About Our Father s Business
Being About Our Father s Business Jennifer Butler PT Summer 2014 Dean Lee August 16, 2014
When looking at the three dimensions of worship, our first instinct is to put them in order of priority
for ourselves. This is what I did. I remember a pastor saying once in a sermon that if your relationship
with God is right, then you, your relationships, and your service/ministries will fall in line. I truly
believe that. So, I believe that the most important of the three is Upward Worship. Our main purpose
in life is to give God all of our praises and all of our honor. It s not about me. It s about living in God
and for God. Colossians 1:16 says For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created
through him and for him. This means that we should be about our Father and not about ourselves. This
doesn t mean that on Sunday, we spend a couple of hours in church, it means that in everything we
think, say, or do we do to glorify and honor God. Some examples of Upward Worship would be
prayer, praise and thanksgiving, listen to his word in study and meditation. It is when we dedicate
ourselves to His will and His edification that we have the security of knowing that this upward form is
fulfilling. The Inward dimension of worship refers to our relationships with others. We are called to
serve, and serve with humility. When we are serving

Father Flynn in John Patrick Shanley’s Doubt Essay
It is difficult to make the decision if Father Flynn is innocent or guilty. In John Patrick Shanley s
Doubt; a parable, he eclipses the truth very well. The scenes about the toy, the camping trip and the
undershirt cause much confusion; causing the audience to go back and forth in their minds and doubt
Father Flynn. Law says that people are innocent until proven guilty although; realistically, everyone
knows that people are guilty until proven innocent. It is very possible that Father Fynn is only helping
Donald, because he is less fortunate than the other students at his school; and it is also very possible
that he is hurting the child by molesting him. The decision is left to the audience as the jury. Father
Flynn gave Donald Miller ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maybe take the boys on a camping trip. The point being? (Shanley, 2008)Sister Alyosuis is clearly
dismissing his plan altogether. Much so, because she would never permit something like that, with her
traditional views on how her school was run, and her plans of keeping it that way. Father Flynn makes
the suggestion maybe just for some bonding time with the children, and to be more appealing to them
and their parents. Father Flynn Says to Sister Aloysuis We should be friendlier. The children and the
parents should see us as members of their family rather than emissaries from Rome. But we are not
members of their family. We are different. (Shanley, 2005) Shanley expresses a fine line between
friendly, and too friendly. Father Flynn may have suggested the trip for a chance to be alone with the
boys where no one would see them if he planned on doing incongruous things with them. Since the
trip was only a offer, and Sister Aloysuis would never allow it, Shanley shows Father Flynn s concept,
but never uncovers his real intentions with the kids on this camping trip.
Sister James sees Father Flynn putting an undershirt in Donald s locker while the children are in their
dance class. Father Flynn did not know anyone saw him. Sister James says I saw you put and

History Extended Essay

Introduction April 25,1846 a Mexican Cavalry consisting of 3,000 men ambushed 70 US soldiers
under Zachary Taylor s command at the disputed area between the Nueces River and the Rio Grande.
Mexican troops ended up killing 16 American Citizens. This led President James K. Polk to write a
letter to Congress asking for a Declaration of War against Mexico on May 11, 1846. In his declaration
of war he included the famous quote: But now, after reiterated menaces, Mexico has passed the
boundary of the United States, has invaded our territory and shed American blood upon the American
soil. She has proclaimed that hostilities have commenced, and that the two nations are now at war.
Congress approved the Declaration of War after only a few hours of debate, and so on May 13, 1846
the United States of America declared war on Mexico.
Though it seems like the main reason for the Mexican American war was the shooting between
American troops and a Mexican cavalry because of the fact that James K. Polk asked Congress for
permission to declare war on Mexico right after the incident and the event was very prevalent in the
letter, another reason for the Mexican American War may have been the popular ideology of Manifest
Destiny. In 1845 John L. O Sullivan coined the term Manifest Destiny. Manifest Destiny was the
ideology

Congo History
A brief history of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) consists of civil war and corruption. In
1960 they achieved Independence, which was followed up by a civil war and a temporary
fragmentation of the country. In 1965 Mobutu Sese Seko seized power. Then in 1997 rebels ousted
Mobutu and Laurent Kabila becomes president. From 1997 until 2003 there was another civil war,
pulling in several surrounding countries (Africa s first world war). From 2003 to 2016 conflict
persisted in the east, where there are still armed groups. In 2006 the first free election in four decades
took place. Joseph Kabila won the run off vote. In 2015 at least 30 were killed in protests against

Recently released displacement figures bring the total number of internally displaced people (IDPs) to
3.9 million (Neuzd). The provinces and regions with the largest numbers of IDPs include North Kivu
with more than a million, Greater Kasai with 762,000, Tanganyika with 584,000 and South Kivu with
545,000 (UNHCR). The UN Refugee Agency has warned that more displacement is probable in these
regions. The World Food Programme and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization estimate that 7.7
million people are food insecure (Staff). Farmers in Kasai have missed two consecutive planting
seasons because of the violence, which broke out last August with the killing of a regional tribal leader
who had defied the government of President Kabila. The violence adds to an already unstable situation
in the DRC. The region now accounts for more than 40% of the DRC s food insecure population
(Staff).
The country is also in the midst of a cholera outbreak affecting 20 of its 26 provinces (Gayer).
Outbreaks and epidemics are more likely in unsanitary conditions, low income countries, and
displaced populations are especially at risk. The country has been in conflict for the majority of 20
years, but evidence shows that the situation for the most vulnerable people has deteriorated severely in
recent years and is on track to worsen. This population is under immunized either due to conflict
and/or geographical remoteness. Risks are compounded

Impact Of Modernisation Of Ireland
The modernisation of Ireland through the period of 1534 1750 was monumental in the development of
Ireland itself. While it would be impossible to delve into detail of all the occurrences and reforms that
modernised Ireland in this period, it must be acknowledged that the reformation, restoration,
plantations, constitutional changes and various monarch s interests and activities in Ireland greatly
affected the changes in the country. Throughout this essay the focus shall be directed towards political
changes, plantations and Oliver Cromwell s activities in Ireland that led to a modernised early modern
Ireland by the end of the 18th century. In the year 1534 Thomas FitzGerald, the 10th Earl of Kildare,

The modernization of Ireland was now vividly clear in the parliament held in Dublin in 1541 the
active constitutional status of the Ireland had monumentally become altered Ireland was now
established in law as a single and distinct sovereign entity joined to England only under the rule of a
common monarch, it could no longer be counted as a divided lordship but now Ireland was an equal
part of the United Kingdom This so called constitutional revolution understandably modernized
Ireland, the Tudor resolution to Irelands problems seemed to be that a civil society would be created
and obtained in Ireland through the government systems already in place there as well as using
institutional development and reform. It could be stated that these reforms were not necessarily
unsuccessful in Ireland throughout this time as it was not until 25 February of the year 1570 when
Pope Pius V issued a papal bull, Regnans in Excelsis, declaring Elizabeth I of England a heretic and
allowing all her subjects to be released from any allegiance to her therefore allowing the catholic
people of Ireland to rebel against the monarchy and establishment in

Agribusiness and large scale farming have seen their fair share of both critics and supporters,
especially today, as the internet has become an unlimited source of information and biased articles.
Throughout the last few decades, technologies in the farming industry have advanced immensely as
the need for more food faster has increased, but some still question the safety and trustworthiness of
genetically modified organisms, also known as GMOs, while others find these technological advances
necessary to feed our endlessly increasing population. By far the more popular view of agribusiness
and the large scale farming is the critical, anti GMO point of view. As Mary Jalonick (2014) writes on

the size of crops and therefore the number of human bodies was limited by the amount of nitrogen that
bacteria and lightning could fix, he writes. By 1900, Europeans scientists had recognized that unless a
way was found to augment this naturally occurring nitrogen, the growth of the human population
would soon grind to a very painful halt (p. 2). Genetic modifications of our foods had to be made in
order to sustain the rate at which our population was growing. Agribusiness focusses on the
advancement of technology in order to produce more food at a more efficient pace. Donald Barlett and
James Steele (2008) write, Monsanto developed G.M. seeds that would resist its own herbicide,
Roundup, offering farmers a convenient way to spray fields with weed killer without affecting crops.
Convenience is key in agribusiness as it allows farmers to produce more, which is necessary to keep

Advertising is attempting to influence the buying behaviour of customers and clients by providing a
persuasive selling massage of the products and services. Technically, advertising is only one way of
promoting business and it has to be sure that whatever form of advertising is chosen; it has to fit the
business marketing plan and marketing strategy. On the other hand, promotion includes all the ways
available to make a product or service known to and purchased by customers and clients. Promotion is
communicating with the public in an attempt to influence them towards buying the products and

The Trials Of The Scottsboro Boys
The trials of the Scottsboro Boys, one of the most important judicial cases of the 1930 s arose when
nine African American young men rode the train in Scottsboro, Alabama in search for work. Instead of
finding job opportunities, they found themselves faced with death sentences after being wrongly
accused of raping two white teenage girls. The case lasted approximately six years due to campaigns
that claimed it dealt with racism and began to demand their right to a fair trial. Fiela s Child, published
in 1985, takes place during the mid nineteenth century, rural Africa, during which the struggles for
civil rights for African Americans continued. Fiela s Child tells the gripping story of a black woman,
Fiela Komoetie, and a white, three year old child, Benjamin, whom she finds on her doorstep and
raises him as one of her own. However, after nine years, census takers discover Benjamin and do not
accept the idea of leaving a white child with an African American family. They compel him to live
with a family of woodcutters, the Von Rooyens, who claim him as their son. Benjamin is follows an
identity search and fundamental changes affecting the families who claim him. During this journey he
undergoes a harsh transition from two distinct environments: the sunny, warm Wolwekraal to the
dense and foggy forest, each of which is relevant to Benjamin s emotional state: of happiness and
tranquility or fear and confusion.

Caribbean Integration
CARIBBEAN POLITICS and SOCIETY
Caribbean Integration
Rationale for Integration.
The Caribbean remains fragmented both economically and politically as a result of competition and
conflict among the European powers. Fragmentation is in part the product of a long history as separate
colonies of a metropolitan power or powers. It is also in part the psychological effects on people of
separation by sea.
The case for regional integration is both simple and irrefutable. First we are small and we need to
achieve economies of scale. We need to achieve such economies in markets, production, the
mobilisation of regional capital for regional use, university education, science and technology, sea and
air transport to mention some areas.

Psychological Dependence on the outside world
In spite of our achievements in many fields of endeavour, we still have a strong sense of psychological
dependence on things external particularly North American, Europe, and some of the bigger countries
of Latin America. We still (as good ex colonials) see big countries in the hemisphere and in Europe as
being some sense better (intrinsincally and not just economically) than out individual countries and
the other West Indian countries and we sometimes carry this perception into the field of international

The Theory Of General Strain Theory Essay
Introduction
In the 1980 s, Criminologist, Robert Agnew, presented his theory of general strain, in which he covers
a range of negative behaviors, especially how adolescents deal with stresses of strain. General strain
theory focuses on the source, such as anything that changes in the individual s life that causes strain.
His theory provides a different outlook on social control and social learning theory for two reasons:
the type of social relationship that leads to delinquency and the motivation for the delinquency
(Agnew, 1992). He states that certain strains and stresses increase the likelihood for crime such as
economic deprivation, child abuse, and discrimination. These factors can cause an increase of crime
through a range of negative emotions. For some people it can take a lot of willpower to take a
corrective action and try to deter away from committing crime in a way that they can relieve these
negative emotions. When people cannot cope with the stresses of the strain, they turn to crime as a
coping mechanism. Agnew also states, that not all people that experience the stresses of strain will go
forward to committing crime and live a deviant life.
Agnew assumes that all people of all social classes experience and deal with frustration when
experiencing a great amount of stress. The general strain theory bridges the gap between the poor and
the rich. The stresses of strain is a universal feeling that every individual experiences at some point in
time of their life.

Joseph Campbell Monomyth
Myths and stories about great heroes serve to let people realize the hero potential that they have in
themselves. It has always been the prime function of mythology and rite to supply the symbols that
carry the human spirit forward, in counteraction to those that tend to tie it back. (Campbell, The Hero
with a Thousand Faces) Joseph Campbell, an American mythologist, developed the idea of
monomyth, which is the theory that all myths are variations of the same story. He believed that
everyone has the potential to be a hero, and that heroes all follow the same journey described in the
monomyth theory. The idea of monomyth states that no matter what time period, the journey for a
hero will be very similar. Campbell s theory can be seen in traditional myths, such as the Anglo Saxon
tale of Beowulf, and also in the lives of contemporary heroes such as Martin Luther King Jr. Beowulf
and Martin Luther King Jr. both fit the profile for a hero and their journey is laid out similarly to the
monomyth steps of departure, initiation and the return.
The departure phase of monomyth is the starting point to a hero s story, it is the key moment when he

Is Hamlet Dishonest
Truth never damages a cause that is just. (Gandhi). Truth is an intimate aspect of any relationship
between two people. It s value cannot be replicated in material objects because it is priceless. People
are not truthful all the time because they think it is the most beneficial route to their goal. But, like
Gandhi said, the goal is not just if truth can be detrimental to it. Most people are aware of this and yet
the truth is so seldom spoken or acknowledged. People are dishonest in order to gain power, or in an
attempt to protect loved ones. Both are present in Hamlet, Prince of Denmark with Claudius drive to

So, when the Ghost says Taint not thy mind, nor let thy soul contrive , the Ghost is telling Hamlet to

s relationship with his mother and that is not what the Ghost wishes of Gertrude and Hamlet. The
value that the Ghost places in Gertrude and Hamlet s relationship suggests that the love of family is
the most important thing one can have in life. Taint suggests a stain to something that had previously
been pure or clean. So when the Ghost advised Hamlet to Taint not thy mind , he is telling Hamlet to
recognize the truth of his relationship with his mother as something clean or pure and to not ruin that
relationship with thoughts of revenge against Gertrude. The Ghost knows that the reality of the
situation is that Hamlet would not be satisfied by any revenge he might take against his mother, as
shown by his use of taint and contrive in regards to Hamlet s feelings. Through the Ghost s attempts to
convince Hamlet of this, love is revealed to be one of the most powerful emotions. The Ghost s love
for his family overpowers any betrayal he may feel from Gertrude. Through this, the Ghost defines
love to be clean and pure, washing away any negative feelings the Ghost might harbor towards
Gertrude and he wishes the same for Hamlet. The pureness of love is reflected

3.1 Independence and unity to restore national sovereignty
In the lapse of time between the two world wars, China was experiencing the so called awakening . In
1912 the empire was abolished and the republic was announced, but it fell into the hands of a ruling

In foreign relations, trade had a marginal value and foreign investment both inwards and outwards
were essentially absent. One of the greatest failures of Mao s notable project Great Leap Forward in
1958 turned out to be one of the greatest failures as it was intended to collectivize all agricultural,
industrial and service life under people s communes and militias control . The first consequence of this
measure was an economic autarky that led to one of the worst famines of the twentieth century.
Developments in international policy pushed China towards a gradual isolation and growing conflicts.
Eventually China s international political and economic relations degenerated and led to a serious
military confrontation with its main ally, the Soviet Union and fighting a border war with India in the
60s. Isolation, political and economic, reaches its highest levels with the outbreak of the Cultural
Revolution in 1966 until 1976 .

Ralph Waldo Emerson Quotes
Quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no
path and leave a trail describes me because I liked to venture into the unknown, the thought of not
knowing the outcome of your choice always intrigued me. The idea of carving your own path or
choices and leaving it for theirs take is fascinating. From an early childhood, I loved doing things my
own way, not because I wanted to be ignorant, rude or stubborn. I just want to take my own way,
taking an obvious path has no rewarding factor, no excitement or thrill. For example, during
kindergarten, I was assigned a simple task to bring in something you liked and share it with a class.
Normal you have several common option of bringing a favorite toy or a book. I in the other had taken

I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the lion s roar, signalling the beginning. Do you ever fight
with someone all the time, over absolutely everything? That s what happens in the show called, Tom

and Jerry are the two main characters in the show. Tom is a grey cat, who stands like a human and
walks like one. In some of the many different episodes, Tom can either be homeless, have a home, or
be on a vacation alone. Jerry is a brown mouse, who also stands and walks like a human. In most of
the episodes, Jerry is always living in some type of building, weather it be a house or an apartment. He

have developed a marketing campaign to involve our elite fan base with changing the Washington
Redskins name, to one that is well accepted within the community. Since the organization is enriched

Our plan is to keep the Redskins brand as consistent as possible, while assuring the uniformity of the

the colonies need to unite in order to be strong during the French and Indian war. When each piece of

One Should Never Give Up In The Caged Bird Poem Analysis
One should never give up when faced with difficulties. When faced with a challenge, the way one
reacts shows strength or weaknesses, and can close or open doors for them. In all 5 texts the author
shows some way that the character either gives up or faces their challenge. When one works hard they
are rewarded, but when one gives up when faced with a challenge they are punished.
When one gives up, or acts hopeless, he shows how he has no determination or work ethic. In the
Escalator and Calvin Situation, they gave up when faced with a challenge. In the Stuck on an
Escalator, the people just sat there complaining, looking hopeless and weak, when they could ve just
walked up the escalator. In the Calvin at school comic, he has so many high expectations for himself
but when when told that a pleasant future and getting paid well required hard work and dedication in
school, he gave up before he even tried. So how would one know his full potential when he doesn t
want to put even a little effort in to reach his goal. In the Caged Bird poem, both birds show signs of
failure in life. The free bird has had many opportunities given to him, so he has no sense of hard work
or what challenge really is, so when eventually he has arrived on a difficult time he is going to
struggle and might not have the strength to keep going. The Caged bird has had a rough time, because
he is going through the hardship that the free bird knows has never experienced, so he lets anger and

Urbanization Of China s Urbanization
Urbanization in China
Urbanization is all around us. Every day somewhere along a route that someone takes to school or
work, they will likely pass a construction site constructing a new apartment complex or housing
community or even the building of a new shopping centre. All of these are ways urbanization creeps in
on our daily lives. We may think of urbanization as something that benefits our world but it can also
have many negative consequences such as traffic congestion which is the number one factor of air

(Shin, 2015, pg.3). This was the spark of urbanization in the megacities. A few decades later the
urbanization population ratio has skyrocketed in the past two decades from 26% in 1990 to 50% in

megacities comes the factor of urbanization. Many of these cities will be flooded with large amounts
of people that need the basic necessaries of life and therefore these megacities will become urbanized.
Urbanization of these cities means the building of many resources such as housing, transportation

The Death Of The Scout Essay
Then the specter arrived, a certain fear of death, it was dull and oppressive, it came to the Scout. This
fear wasted no time becoming poignant as the Scout realized that it was now no longer a mere matter
of just freezing some fingers and maybe a few toes, or of losing his hands and feet altogether, but that
now it was a matter of life and death with the odds solidly stacked very much against survival. This
threw the Scout into a full panic, and it turned and ran up the ammonia creek bed back along the old,
dim trail. The pequoti quickly joined in behind and kept up but it kept a safe distance. The Scout now
ran blindly, and without any willful intention, in fear such as it had never known before. Slowly, as the
Scout ploughed and floundered through the argon snow, it began to see things again the banks of the
ammonia creek, the old growth timber jams, the leafless trees, and the beautiful sky. This running
made the Scout feel much better. The Scout no longer shivered. Maybe, just maybe, if the Scout ran
on, its feet would thaw and dry out; and, anyway, if it ran far enough, the Scout would reach the safety
of camp and the others. Without a doubt the Scout would lose maybe a finger and maybe a toe and
maybe some of its face; but the others would take good care of the Scout, and save the rest upon

Ambiguity In Shakespeare s Julius Caesar
Introduction
Overall, the main character, Julius Caesar is a character that readers are often very ambiguous about.
On one hand, it is said that Julius Caesar would likely become a tyrant if he was crowned king. On the
other hand, Julius Caesar is made out to be a great hero. Therefore, readers are faced with a dilemma
about who they should side with in this story. By having many of the supporting characters going
against the decision to crown Julius Caesar king, this creates an even larger dilemma for readers. If a
man s own friends are against him, is there any way that he could good? By creating these scenes of
ambiguity in Julius Caesar, Shakespeare is able to lead readers to feel indifferent about the main

The oblivious nature of Julius Caesar during these exchanges adds to the ambiguity of the event by
hinting that he is unaware that all of his conspirators are against him. Right before his murder, Julius
Caesar says: I could be well moved, if I were as you: If I could pray to move, prayers would move me:
But I am constant as the norther star, Of whose true fix d and resting quality There is no fellow in this
firmament. The skies are painted with unnumber d sparks, They are all fire and every one doth shine,
But there s but one in all doth hold his place: So in the world; tis furnish d well with men, And men

on his rank, Unshaked of motion: and that I am he, Let me a little show it, even in this; That I was
constant Cimber should be banish d, And constant do remain to keep him so (III.i.1263 78)
This speech helps erase some of the ambiguity from the scene and cements the idea that Caesar must
be assassinated, because there is no other way he is going to go. He spends all of these lines saying
that he basically sticks to his guns and will not change his mind about the banishment. This displays
some of his dictator like tendencies. Saying these lines clearly did not help his cause and likely
confirmed that the conspirators must do what they have to do.

that still is left unanswered, who is inferior? In her novel, The Second Sex, Simone de Beauvoir
discusses the role of women as being oppressed in the views of men who ... Show more content on

Beauvoir notes in her second volume, When I wrote that one is not born, but rather becomes a woman
I meant just this that women become feminine through the process of social brainwashing and
stereotyping. She states key points of womanhood that are notably unseen or foreign in man:
pregnancy, lactation, and menstruation. Thus, this type of phenomena contributes to the marked
difference in women all together. Furthermore, what society seems to overlook when they take these
types of differences are the existential importance s that each carry on. Thus, woman may fail to lay
claim to the status of subject because she lacks definite resources, because she feels the necessary
bond that ties her to man regardless of reciprocity, and because she is often very well pleased with her
role as the Other.
Women overall are raised believe that the only way to achieve happiness and gain success is through
the acceptance of denying her true identity. Women all over are being deprived of their possibilities for
fulfillment and opportunity because they are shaped based on their childhood where they learn to
accept the dissatisfying life of work around the house, nurturing and raising children, and the sexual
slavishness. While living the kind of adulthood, Beauvoir addresses the certain roles women live in a
sexist society: wife, mother,

Essay Chronicle Of A Death Foretold And Machismo
When Honor Overshadows Morality
It is ingrained into society that men have to be strong. They must uphold the standard of their family,
and must be strong, bold, courageous, and have great honor. These expectations greatly impact how
men behave, causing them to act in a way that would be deemed unethical if machismo was not a
factor in society. In the novella Chronicle of a Death Foretold, author Gabriel Garcia Marquez uses
various characters to critique the idea of machismo by exposing how it inhibits one s ability to reason,
forcing one to value respect and honor more than morality.
There is a double standard for men and women in the society when it comes to premarital sex. The
man is congratulated and unaffected by his decision to have sex before marriage, while women are
scorned and exiled for the same action. A family s honor is only tainted if it is the daughter having sex,
but not the brother. Shaming unmarried women who were not virgins is unfortunately common in the
town of the Vicarios, and machismo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It inhibits logical thinking, and causes people to view honor as more important that morality. It
prevents women from reaching their full potential, as it causes men to believe that they are superior to
women. Machismo has the ability to let people believe that they are committing horrendous acts for
their own good, and alters how society views their motives. In Chronicle in a Death Foretold,
machismo is a prevalent theme found throughout the novella that impacts how they characters behave
and interact with each other. Garcia Marquez s insightful details into the minds of the characters
further allows the audience to realize that not only is machismo an intense force that drives one to
value respect more than integrity, but a power that causes people to behave in terrible ways. They will
do anything in there power to remain honorable, even if it goes against everything that they believe

Taking a Look at Strokes
The history of stroke first started with Hippocrates, the father of medicine, who was the first to
identify stroke 2,400 years ago, during that decade stroke was known as apoplexy meaning in Greek
struck down by violence . This was due to the fact that a person developed sudden paralysis and
change in well being. This term continued until the mid 1660 s when Jacob Wepfer realized that
apoplexy is due to either bleeding within the brain or blockage inside one the brain veins. The
transformation of the term apoplexy to stroke was a major revolution in the history of stroke. Now
stroke is known as brain attack to show the urgency needed for an instant action.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that stroke caused 5.7 million deaths in 2004
which accounted for 9.7% of deaths in the world [1]. Strikingly as it might be, stroke is considered to
be the 4th leading cause of death among all causes, when considered separately from cardiovascular
diseases, on an average every 4 minutes someone dies by a stroke [2] . According to data from the
Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics reveal that 2.9% of men and 2.9% of women ≥18 years of age had
a history of stroke [3]. On the other hand, in terms of disability stroke is considered to be the leading
cause of long term disability in the united states with an impact of 36.5 billion dollars of direct and
indirect costs in 2010 [3]. According to the American Heart Association statistics from 2012 till 2030
the total direct

Homecoming Summary
Novel: Homecoming
Author: Cynthia Voigt
Report by: Sophia Anderson
Genre: The genre is adventure. Four kids are going all over the Northeast part of the country to find
their family, when abandoned by their mother.
Plot Summary: When four kids, Dicey, James, Sammy, and Maybeth Tillerman are left on their own at
a mall in Conneticut, they decide to travel many miles to find their other family, whom they have
never met, Aunt Cilla. After locating her house, they only want to stay together as a family, so even
though the Tillermans find she isn t there, only her daughter, they chose to stay with her for a while.
Discovering that this would not be their forever home, Dicey, James, Sammy, and Maybeth journey to
Crisfield, where their mother ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Tillermans first start their journey in a city called Provincetown, where they first lived, next, they
travel to Bridgeport, where they find their cousin, after that, they end up in Crisfield, where their
mother grew up.
Mood: While finding their Aunt Cilla, the mood is worried, because in this book, it s all improv, where
the Tillermans must find a new shelter every day, somehow make money, and they aren t sure if they
even get to eat daily, so they worry.
Tone: I think the tone is hopeful, because the Tillermans just want to stay one family, so they do
everything to stick together. Through everything, the good and the bad, they believe things will turn
out right, hoping, and eventually their lives improve.
Theme: The theme may be stick together. As long as you have people there to support and help you,
you can count on things to turn out alright. When their family split up, things weren t perfect, but
when Dicey, James, Sammy, and Maybeth stuck together, their life was always getting better,
especially when they discovered their grandmother.
Irony: It s ironic that, Mr. Rudyard came to attack the Tillermans, for running away, but he got
attacked instead.
Imagery: The leaves made designs on the background of the sky, intricate patterns that shifted with
any slightest breeze. On page 69, this creates a picture in your mind, making it imagery.
Symbolism: This book has a boat in it, that the Tillermans travel on for a while, and it

D Souza suggests that Obama was chosen as an analgesic to that blame and came to office as a void image and an unexamined amount, whose inclinations and most profound standards that s covered outrage have been kept under tight restraints by the possibility of reelection. Only two victories out of 17 Test matches in the Rainbow Nation, is a clear reflection of their struggle on those wickets, where there has been a plenty of pace, bounce and sideways movement for the fast bowlers, both in the air and off the pitch. Later that year, in Australia, they were again whitewashed in the four Test series. There too they played one two day followed by one three day game before the first Test. Following those series of overseas defeats, there was a lot of hue and cry in the Indian cricket fraternity. Despite that, in the next tours of England and Australia, the Indians got only one extra warm up game. They lost both the series with 3 1 and 0 2 margins respectively. Once again, prior to this important tour of South Africa, the same lethargic approach is being repeated by BCCI. However, this lack of co operation from the board has recently forced the Indian team management to come out with a radical idea of using the just concluded India Sri Lanka series as a warm up for the tour of South Africa. • 5. Being About Our Father s Business Being About Our Father s Business Jennifer Butler PT Summer 2014 Dean Lee August 16, 2014 When looking at the three dimensions of worship, our first instinct is to put them in order of priority for ourselves. This is what I did. I remember a pastor saying once in a sermon that if your relationship with God is right, then you, your relationships, and your service/ministries will fall in line. I truly believe that. So, I believe that the most important of the three is Upward Worship. Our main purpose in life is to give God all of our praises and all of our honor. It s not about me. It s about living in God and for God. Colossians 1:16 says For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. This means that we should be about our Father and not about ourselves. This doesn t mean that on Sunday, we spend a couple of hours in church, it means that in everything we think, say, or do we do to glorify and honor God. Some examples of Upward Worship would be prayer, praise and thanksgiving, listen to his word in study and meditation. It is when we dedicate ourselves to His will and His edification that we have the security of knowing that this upward form is fulfilling. The Inward dimension of worship refers to our relationships with others. We are called to serve, and serve with humility. When we are serving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In John Patrick Shanley s Doubt; a parable, he eclipses the truth very well. Law says that people are innocent until proven guilty although; realistically, everyone knows that people are guilty until proven innocent. Father Flynn makes the suggestion maybe just for some bonding time with the children, and to be more appealing to them and their parents. Father Flynn Says to Sister Aloysuis We should be friendlier. The children and the parents should see us as members of their family rather than emissaries from Rome. But we are not members of their family. We are different. Father Flynn may have suggested the trip for a chance to be alone with the boys where no one would see them if he planned on doing incongruous things with them. Leila Elhail History Extended Essay 12 Introduction April 25,1846 a Mexican Cavalry consisting of 3,000 men ambushed 70 US soldiers under Zachary Taylor s command at the disputed area between the Nueces River and the Rio Grande. Mexican troops ended up killing 16 American Citizens. This led President James K. Polk to write a letter to Congress asking for a Declaration of War against Mexico on May 11, 1846. In his declaration of war he included the famous quote: But now, after reiterated menaces, Mexico has passed the boundary of the United States, has invaded our territory and shed American blood upon the American soil. She has proclaimed that hostilities have commenced, and that the two nations are now at war. Congress approved the Declaration of War after only a few hours of debate, and so on May 13, 1846 the United States of America declared war on Mexico. Though it seems like the main reason for the Mexican American war was the shooting between American troops and a Mexican cavalry because of the fact that James K. Polk asked Congress for permission to declare war on Mexico right after the incident and the event was very prevalent in the letter, another reason for the Mexican American War may have been the popular ideology of Manifest Destiny. In 1845 John L. O Sullivan coined the term Manifest Destiny. Manifest Destiny was the ideology ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Theory Of General Strain Theory Essay Introduction In the 1980 s, Criminologist, Robert Agnew, presented his theory of general strain, in which he covers a range of negative behaviors, especially how adolescents deal with stresses of strain. General strain theory focuses on the source, such as anything that changes in the individual s life that causes strain. His theory provides a different outlook on social control and social learning theory for two reasons: the type of social relationship that leads to delinquency and the motivation for the delinquency (Agnew, 1992). He states that certain strains and stresses increase the likelihood for crime such as economic deprivation, child abuse, and discrimination. These factors can cause an increase of crime through a range of negative emotions. For some people it can take a lot of willpower to take a corrective action and try to deter away from committing crime in a way that they can relieve these negative emotions. When people cannot cope with the stresses of the strain, they turn to crime as a coping mechanism. Agnew also states, that not all people that experience the stresses of strain will go forward to committing crime and live a deviant life. Agnew assumes that all people of all social classes experience and deal with frustration when experiencing a great amount of stress. The general strain theory bridges the gap between the poor and the rich. The stresses of strain is a universal feeling that every individual experiences at some point in time of their life. ... It has always been the prime function of mythology and rite to supply the symbols that carry the human spirit forward, in counteraction to those that tend to tie it back. (Campbell, The Hero with a Thousand Faces) Joseph Campbell, an American mythologist, developed the idea of monomyth, which is the theory that all myths are variations of the same story. He believed that everyone has the potential to be a hero, and that heroes all follow the same journey described in the monomyth theory. The idea of monomyth states that no matter what time period, the journey for a hero will be very similar. Campbell s theory can be seen in traditional myths, such as the Anglo Saxon tale of Beowulf, and also in the lives of contemporary heroes such as Martin Luther King Jr. Beowulf and Martin Luther King Jr. both fit the profile for a hero and their journey is laid out similarly to the monomyth steps of departure, initiation and the return. So, when the Ghost says Taint not thy mind, nor let thy soul contrive , the Ghost is telling Hamlet to not stain his mind or to let his heart scheme something bad against his mother, which suggests that the Ghost wants Hamlet and Gertrude to stick together as a family now that King Hamlet is gone. The Ghost tries to convince Hamlet not to take revenge on his mother because doing so would ruin Hamlet s relationship with his mother and that is not what the Ghost wishes of Gertrude and Hamlet. The value that the Ghost places in Gertrude and Hamlet s relationship suggests that the love of family is the most important thing one can have in life. This was due to the fact that a person developed sudden paralysis and change in well being. This term continued until the mid 1660 s when Jacob Wepfer realized that apoplexy is due to either bleeding within the brain or blockage inside one the brain veins. The transformation of the term apoplexy to stroke was a major revolution in the history of stroke. Now stroke is known as brain attack to show the urgency needed for an instant action. The World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that stroke caused 5.7 million deaths in 2004 which accounted for 9.7% of deaths in the world [1].
