In times of uncontrollability, there is evidence to suggest that individuals tend to invoke superstious
beliefs. Anecdotal evidence has also suggested that highly superstitious people believe that they have a
level of control over situations where they objectively have none. For example, some people have
lucky charms that they believe allow for a greater sense of perceived control of external factors.
Locus of control has often been used to explain the relationship of perceived control and superstious
belief and has been dichotomized as internal or external (Rotter, 1966). Whereas an internal locus of
control is inherent of the belief that all events are due to internal dispositions, an external locus of
control believes that events are a result of other people, or chance/luck. This concept is associated with

In many American middle and high schools, there are rules on how you must dress. The most known
of these are that boys must wear shirts and must not show their underwear, and girls must have shorts

rules vary by school, but most of these rules are geared towards young women. College and real life
do not have dress codes. Employers have dress codes so that their employees can convey to customers
what the business wants them too, but dress codes in public high schools are sexist and teach young

aimed at girls. According to the dress code of my alma mater, Lakota West High School, there are

man getting ready for school in the morning. If your outfit doesn t have oversized armholes, dog

you re a young woman getting ready for school, your outfit must not show your bra straps, have
sleeves that cover your entire shoulder, and not have oversized armholes. Your shorts or skirt cannot
be past your fingertips, which for some girls with long arms means wearing jeans even in 90 degree
weather. Your jewelry and piercings must not be potentially harmful (it is up to the staff to dictate
what is and what s not), and your hair and makeup must not disrupt the educational process. (Again, it

How The Body Works Is Incredibly Complex
The way our body works is incredibly complex, but a wonderful thing that we are given. Without
everything working it would be hard to do simple tasks. When certain things do shut down or stop
working properly it can ruin a life. The littlest of organs can have an enormous effect on the body
which it did on me. The thyroid a small organ on the front of your neck gave me some serious
problems for about 2 years. From little things like sleep, appetite, and headaches it quickly scaled to
many more major things like heart palpations and severe dehydration. It may seem like something
