Analysis Of The Pink Car By Mark Halliday
Different Perspectives
In recent generations, typical looks or ideas have dominated fashion. People write about this topic through
articles, newspapers, and papers. While models style and display the most recent styles, they also represent
what women should look like. Not until very recently, people have realized that not all women look like
models, unless they starved themselves or worse. In the poems, Fat is Not a Fairy Tale and The Pink Car ,
the authors convey their main message of the poem as the social aspect of the world and what they believe
has the characteristics of the ideal person by using imagery and personification. Admiration for
individuality, a common theme throughout The Pink Car , was constantly mentioned through the words of
the Mark Halliday. Furthermore, Halliday personifies the cars in the poem as people; specifically focusing
in on the pink car. He repeatedly describes the other cars in a jaundiced way; for example, he would
characterize these cars as boisterous, rowdy, and big. However, he identifies the pink car as disparate, one
who does not worry or care about other cars perspectives. The author wrote, Other cars might honk their
horns to seem big // the pink car doesn t honk and doesn t worry (Halliday 25 26). Halliday symbolizes the
car as pink because society commonly construes the color as feminist, sweet, playful, the color of love,
flowers and romance. His intention of this poem was to help one find peace within themselves.

Comparison of Behaviorism and the Humanistic Approach
It is said that humanistic psychology was developed upon the limitations of behaviourism. The humanistic
approach is often referred to as the third force in psychology coming after psychoanalysis and
behaviourism; it is an alternative approach to psychology (Maslow, 1968). It offered a more wholesome
approach to psychology at the time in comparison to behaviourism and psychoanalysis. This essay will
compare and contrast behaviourism and humanistic psychology; it will focus on their contributions to
psychological theory and their applications in the real world. Why don t we make what can be observed the
real field of psychology (Watson, 1929). Watson (1878 1958) was born into a poor family in South
Carolina. His mother was a religious woman, and his father drank a lot and had multiple affairs (Watson,
1999). Watson himself married twice, having two children in each marriage. He didn t seem to have good
relationships with his children it is said that one of the main reasons for this may be because he used his
children throughout his research. He studied in the University of Chicago where he later became known as
the founder of Behaviourism. He wrote an essay in 1914 titled Psychology as the Behaviourist views it
where he stated that behaviourism is an objective experimental branch of natural science (Watson, 1914).
Behaviourism is a theory of learning that argues that all behaviours are acquired through conditioning
(Carver Scheier, 2012). Behaviourists believe

The Ecstasy Of Themes In The Lion King
The Lion King film exposes an array of themes. Discuss.
The Lion King animation by Walt Disney reveals a variety of themes. Simba experiences intrapersonal and
interpersonal conflict. Due to this conflict three important themes loss, family and change are emphasized.
An important theme The Lion King exposes is loss. To confirm this, Simba gets caught in gorge during the
wildebeest stampede. Scar tells Mufasa. Mufasa runs to save his son. Scar causes his death and then blames
Simba. Simba what have you done?... it was an accident I didn t mean for it to happen. . Simba losing his
father clarifies death of a parent is a difficult thing to deal with. In addition, when Simba returns to Pride

Timon and Pumba walk Simba to their humble home and when they get there Simba is surprised because of
how beautiful the whole place is.Timon and Pumba introduced Simba to bugs and he is disgusted but he
learns to eat them. When Simba leaves Pride Rock this illustrates that sometimes people need to enter a new
environment. Furthermore, when Simba is all grown up, one afternoon he hears Timon and Pumba
screaming because of a big, crazy lion is chasing them to eat them. He runs to help his friends and all of a
sudden a couple of seconds later Simba and the big, crazy lion start fighting. Simba is pinned to the ground
and then Simba is surprised when he finds out it is Nala. Nala is that you?... . Simba has to change and

Abstract :
As no of patients that are suffering from cardiac diseases are increasing very rapidly, it is important that
remote ECG patient monitoring systems should be used as point of care (PoC) applications in hospitals
around the world. Therefore, huge amount of ECG signal collected by body sensor networks from remote
patients at homes will be transmitted along with other personal biological readings such as blood pressure,
temperature, glucose level, etc., and get treated accordingly by those remote patient monitoring systems. It
is very important that patient privacy is protected while data are being transmitted over the public network
as well as when they are stored in hospital servers . In this paper, a one new technique has been introduced
which is the hybrid of encryption and wavelet based ECG steganography technique .
Encryption allows privacy and ECG steganography allows to hide one sensitive data into other insensitive
host thus guaranteeing the integration between ECG and the rest.

Alternate Possibilities And Moral Responsibility By Harry...
Alternate Possibilities and Moral Responsibility talks about the principle of alternate possibilities. The
principle of alternate possibilities states that someone is morally responsible if they could have chosen to do
otherwise. People who believe in free will are very supportive of the principle Free will is the power of
acting without the constraint of necessity or fate; the ability to act at one s own discretion. The principle of
alternate possibilities, moral responsibility, and free will are all involved in this paper written by Harry
Frankfurt. Frankfurt states that its exact meaning is a subject of controversy, particularly concerning
whether someone who accepts it is thereby committed to believing that moral responsibility and

The similarity is that all 3 of them can be coerced into doing something by a threat. There are also
differences between each of these Jones . Jones 4 had another person in the picture unlike any of the other
Jones and his name was Black. Black is a lurker who watches what Jones 4 does, but Jones 4 is totally
unaware that anyone is watching him. If Jones 4 decided to do what he was going to do then Black will stay
away without making any threats, but if Jones 4 decides to not do what he is going to do then Black will
reveal himself to threaten and force Jones 4 into doing what he had decided not to do. If Jones 4 decided to
do what he was going to do without Black having to intervene in anyway then that makes Jones 4 morally
responsible for since he had chosen to do it himself. If Jones 4 had decided to not do what he was going to
do and Black intervened by threatening and forcing Jones 4 into doing something he initially decided he
didn t want to do, that would make Black morally responsible. In the case of Jones 4, he never really had a
choice on whether or not he could or could not do what he was going to do. Either way he was going to
have to do what he was going to do. Jones 4 situation proves the principle of alternate possibilities wrong in
the fact that Jones 4 never had a choice so someone can be morally responsible even without having a
choice in the matter, which Jones 4 never knew he did not have. Harry Frankfurt then presents a revision of
the principle of alternate possibilities. The new principle says that someone is morally responsible for their
action if they did it only because they could not have done otherwise. This revision on the principle of
alternate possibilities made it work for each of the different Jones

Imogene King Essay
a) How would you answer the questions below that were posed by King based on what you know about
current nursing practice?
Imogene King s theory of goal attainment focused on the cooperation between nurses and patients (Masters,
2015). Both parties would share information, set a common goal, and work to achieve the set objectives.
King was convinced that nurses had to help people to maintain fundamental aspects of their health and
hence ensure wellness (Masters, 2015). The questions posed by King would be answered by considering the
points of synergy between the current practice and perceived health outcomes. In this manner, the focus of
the nursing will be on the patient.
b) What is the scope of practice of nurse practitioners, nurse educators and nurse leaders, and in what kind
of settings do these nursing professionals perform their functions?
The scope of practice for medical practitioners includes all systems levels of care (Masters, 2015). Hence,
nursing professionals participate in both direct and indirect care. Besides, nursing ... Show more content on

About this, the system seeks to reduce the differences in health outcomes among diverse populations

current nursing goals may place more emphasis on reducing existing differences in medical care outcomes

Furthermore, current nursing goals intend to promote excellence in practice. The medical system in the past
half century was also focused on improving patient and population health outcomes systems (American
Association of Colleges of Nursing, 2014). Although nursing goals may be similar to those in the past 50

The Effects Of Underage Drinking
According to the New York Times, More than 1,800 students die every year of alcohol related
causes...600,000 are injured while drunk, and nearly 100,000 become victims of alcohol influenced sexual
assaults (Mcmurtrie). This is the case as many students in America find happiness in the consumption of
unhealthy amounts of alcohol and underage drinking. Unfortunately, these issues have been more prevalent
on college campuses, where students have formed a culture of abusing alcohol. There seems to be no
solution in sight as many college students fall victim to the devastating effects of alcohol abuse and
underage drinking despite the legal drinking age. Regardless of the brutal effects of misusing alcohol,
college students still continue to binge drink and participate in underage drinking. This leads one to wonder
the cause of this destructive phenomenon. While some blame the minimum drinking age, others blame the
society and the ignorance of the college students. Although these factors may contribute, in reality, college
students in the U.S. tend to abuse alcohol because of their perception of alcohol and its consumption.
To begin with, students think of alcohol as helpful and necessary for social engagement. This is because
they are burdened with the societal pressure of fitting in when they get to college. They are placed in a new
environment, where they feel they have to get acquainted with their peers in order to survive. In an article
about college drinking, Dr. Jodi

The United Kingdom Of England And Northern Ireland
Arguments by the UK:
The United Kingdom of England and Northern Ireland believes that Ecuador has no legal right or basis to
grant political or diplomatic asylum to Assange for various legal reasons that the Court is set to debate.
First, the United Kingdom s involvement in the topic comes from their obligation to extradite Julian
Assange to Sweden under Article 35, Clause 3 of the Extradition Act of 2003. Since Sweden has filed for an
EAW that has been approved by the UK, the UK is under a formal legal obligation to extradite Assange to
Sweden. An EAW is a legal document that obligates European members to surrender persons who have
committed or are suspected of committing crimes in EU territories.15
The United Kingdom counter argues Ecuador s claim that Assange is a political refugee who has been
granted political asylum on the grounds that he is escaping persecution due to his political beliefs. They see
no relevance of Assange s political actions or views to this case as the primary purpose of his extradition is
due to allegations of sexual assault that have supposedly occurred in Sweden. Due to sexual assault being a
crime that has no known relation to his political views, the UK claims that Assange does not fit the criteria
listed within Article 1 of the United Nations Convention and Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees.
Therefore, Assange s status as a political refugee is unfounded in the opinion of the UK.
On the topic of his potential extradition to the

Exxon Valdez s Effect On The Environment

(Gannon, M. 2014). The oil tanker at the time was being driven by Joseph Hazelwood. He been drinking
which caused him to be drunk which caused him to lose control of the oil tanker. This caused the world s
biggest oil spill at that time. The purpose of this chemical being researched is that since it was the largest oil
spill in history, it was so expensive which caused financial conflicts in society. It caused a lot of
environmental hazards, which affected all kinds of marine life. Exxon Valdez was a global issue because it

because it was ignored by the government (Kroh, K.). That was the main reason people were enraged
because then they had to pay for it with their taxes which could have been used for something else (Adler, J.
H. 2000). During the incident of the Exxon Valdez spill there were a lot of lawsuits filed from citizens
because the government wasn t enforcing the law. The government were saying that these policies were fair
and they had things under control (Schneider, K.). The U.S. Justice Department said they weren t charging
the Exxon Valdez company money because some scientific studies weren t done yet (Kroh, K. 2016). In the
end, we ended up working together to solve this problem anyways so things didn t turn out to bad.
In conclusion, the Exxon Valdez oil spill left a huge impact on the world and the marine life around it. It
had effects on a lot of people each with different viewpoints on this incident and what went on after. When
this oil spill happened, people took precautionary principle and started to work on removing the oil right

A Modest Proposal To Visit
The purpose of this letter is to ask that you read the enclosed proposal about putting bike lanes in the City
of Manhattan. Currently, in the City of Manhattan doesn t have enough bike lanes in town where bicyclists
can ride safely on the road.
While the bike lanes might not currently have high traffic, adding more will increase the use of the current
ones. It is a challenge as a bicyclist when bike lanes are not on every road throughout the city. For example,
when bicyclists ride down or up Casement Road and on Westwood Rd meets with Fort Riley Blvd, the road
starts off wide enough for both a car and a bicyclist. The lane shrinks, so there s only room for a car, which
leaves bicyclist in an awkward position with nowhere to go since bikes shouldn t be on the sidewalks.
When bicyclists ride around Manhattan, they know how much it gets them moving and ready to tackle a ...

And having bike lanes also keeps citizens from the nearby neighborhood from riding on the sidewalks,
which is illegal for them to ride on.
Given that at least half of the bicyclists never use the bike paths, I am advocating for bike lanes, particularly
on the uphill side of the road. Simply adding 2 feet of pavement and minimizing the ditch alongside the
road will both maximize bicycle safety and minimize cost. I believe that the bike lane is needed to keep
them safe. In the winter, the bike lane will help keep cars from getting stuck in the ditch after snowstorms
when it is virtually impossible to tell where the road ends and the ditch begins.
When there are more bikes around, people drive safe and when there are more bikes around, people drive
safer and are aware of them. The more bicyclists we see, the safer the roads are going to be for them. I think
Manhattan should be doing everything it can to encourage people to bike safe and make the city a safer
place to bike

The Movement Of Child And Youth Care Practice Within The Uk
This paper will focus on key factors which hold prevalence to the movement of child and youth care
practice within the UK. Reference will be made to Child and Youth Care (CYC) within the context of a
Residential Child Care setting (RCCS) which will be defined. Attention will be drawn to the most
significant historical events which have influenced the development of Residential child care (RCC) and the
overarching identity attached to it. Consider will be given to relationship between RCC and Social Services
and the importance of RCC as a single profession. This will include discussion around knowledge base and
qualification of the Residential Child Care Worker (RCCW). For the context of this paper any reference to
RCC or the RCCS will refer to a children s home based in the UK.
Smith et al (2013) describes the RCCS as a children s home, residential school, hospital or secure
accommodation . Smith adds that within RCC a child is offered care physical nurturing, learning
opportunities, specialised behaviour training and promotion of health and wellbeing . A modern approach

This essay will discuss obligatory elements in implementing the breach of Section 184 of the Corporations
Act 2001 by Mr Clive Palmer. Corporation law is a wide concept of law which comprise of all the legal
issues related to Business organisations. With the help of reference to relevant case law this essay will argue
that Mr Palmer breached section 184 of the Corporation Act 2001 by not acting in good faith, improper use

director commits an offence if they are reckless or intentionally dishonest, and fail to exercise their powers

mentioned earlier Mr Palmer was reckless in decision making by waving loans and using the company

A Brief Note On Legislation And Poor Oversight
Cause: deregulatory legislation and poor oversight Since 2001, the Federal Reserve System chose easily
monetary policy and reduced loan level again. As a result that America began to decrease interest in the two
half years. FRS totally reduced interests in 13 times. It allowed financial institution to borrow money for
unlimited times. And then, it leaded to increase American money supplement in unusual. The liquidity of

brought investors enthusiasm. At last, it became inflation. It is clear that there are many causes leaded to the
financial crisis in the 2008. However, America s macro policy is definitely the core reason for the financial
crisis. Since 1999, America began to release financial regulation. It made American financial ecological
environment break out many problems. For example, financial derivative instruments occurred changes,
value chain became longer and longer, which leaded to a subprime crisis. Before subprime crisis happened,
the American government proposed a series of acts and policies involved limited export. American
government adopted different trade barriers for developing countries. And it also limited technology
products which push the domestic products price increase and decrease the job opportunities. At the same
time, the government controlled domestic economical innovation power. That is also a main reason of
financial crisis. Another

The Importance Of Cultural Anthropology
Anthropology is the social sciences discipline that looks to understand humanity. In this discipline there are
subdivisions such as cultural anthropology and primatology, and the beauty of anthropology is that you can
more than you think, link some of your life event to some anthropological context.
Cultural anthropology is one of the four fields of anthropology. It looks for patterns of beliefs or behaviours
in a group and how they are connected. Anthropologist looks at differences and similarities between
different groups and different cultures. They obtain their data through field work. There is actually two
method of for anthropologist to study a culture of a group; ethnography and ethnology. Ethnography is a
detailed description of a particular group based on the information you get with field work. Most
anthropologist actually go live with this particular group for a certain amount of time to get the more
information possible and write the most detailed and accurate description of this group. The other method,
ethnology, is a study of different cultures from cross cultural comparison. In this method, they generalized a
lot and they using the information of some ethnographic studies already done.

The Waste Of Waste Production And Generation
1. INTRODUCTION
As the rate of urbanization and industrialisation in India has gone up so has the rate of waste production and
generation. As per the report of CPCB 2012, India generated 127485.107 MT/Day out of which 70 % is
collected, rest are lying either on the roads or water body. The waste collected is inadequate to reuse,
recycle or generate it for the energy due to its mixed character, lack of financial constraint and competence
of the municipal body.
As a result the inadequacies occurred in the management will cause littering of the waste on the sides of the
roads, open dump sites, water body, any depression etc. These activities induce unhygienic conditions and
degradation of the environment.
1.1 INFORMAL SECTOR
The waste ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The informal recycling sector is highly skilled at identifying waste with a potential value, and locating
customers within certain markets (Nzeadibe, 2009). The composition of solid waste produced, and therefore
available to recycle, depends on dietary habits, culture/traditions, lifestyle, climate and income status of the
community where the waste is produced (Damghani et al., 2008). The recyclable materials most frequently
targeted are plastic, paper and cardboard, metal scrap (aluminium, steel, tin), glass, PET bottles, rubber,
wood and textiles.
The level of earning generated depends upon the degree of the waste that can be recycled. The more the
virgin the material the more would be the value of its selling for recycling. So if the waste is directly
extracted from the source stations its value would be more than the waste from the dump site.
The sector faces problem regarding the social acceptance by the government as well the public. In the
process of collecting the waste this sector also prone to many health risks.
1.2 INTEGRATED SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
Informal sector plays vital role in segregation and recycling of solid waste and this sector has been working
from the long ago. But giving them dignity, identity for their work is always explicit in Indian legislation. In
the year 2000, the Municipal Solid Waste (Collection and Handling) Rules mandate urban local body for

History Of National History Day District Competition
Oh, have I caught your attention? Obviously, I did, with such an eye catching blog post title like that.
Apparently Marc Gamayo beat me to a blog post of National History Day District competition (I should

interviewed for their projects and to know who are going to state competition. Warning! Super long

in answering or responding to my interview, making a good impression; however, my partner only spoke

After the interview, there wasn t much to do since our interview finished at about 9:07 or so and there were
no available activities, so we (Quincee and me) explored the campus a bit more, and I have to say I m

The Grandmother O Connor Analysis
This family is portrayed by O Connor as wannabe perfectionism by thinking they are better than they truly
are, but the grandmother specifically is the worst of them. She tries to convince the family to take a trip to
Tennessee rather than Florida which is their usual vacation spot. The grandma persuades them all by saying
that there is a misfit of an escaped convict in Florida to make the decision on where to go a no brainer.
Bailey knows that wherever they go, grandma will also go. On the trip towards Florida, they detour to an
unknown road the grandma thought she visited before, unfortunate events happen while on this road; her cat
gets out of its cage and manages to startles the driver Bailey who ends up crashing and getting them killed.
The grandmother s concern for the trip is ironic since the trip ends up going sour even though the grandma
had tried avoiding possible dangerous situation especially with the scare of the escaped convict.
Grandmothers concern foreshadows the trip, first the fact that she dressed in a floral dress and hat, just in
case of an accident people would know she is a lady, as if preparing for a possible funeral. A second
foreshadowing occurs when Bailey reads the article of the escaped convict and the grandmother responds ...

Los Angeles hoping for fame and fortune in his song, Californication. When Kiedis sings And if you want
these kind of dreams/ It s Californication, he is describing the lost dreams and false promises associated
with Los Angeles and the LA lifestyle. Even though Kiedis is living the life people come to Los Angeles in
search for, he has also experienced the loneliness and isolated feelings that can be caused by the city. Kiedis
went through tough times when he fights drug addiction, and has to rebuild his life. Kiedis opens up about
these feelings of loneliness in many of his songs, and one example of this in in This Velvet Glove. Kiedis
sings about himself as Someone who s been/ Sittin by the phone, I m left alone/ In another zone. The Los
Angeles lifestyle is a cause of Kiedis drug addiction that creates a serious feeling of loneliness and isolation
when he loses everyone in his life. Kiedis is singing about himself getting ready to inject Heroin, and he is
lamenting on his vast array of drug experiences. Kiedis is waiting for a call that never comes and he feels
the bearing weight of isolation that is created by his Los Angeles lifestyle. Kiedis isolation relates to
Leonard Mead s isolation while walking down the streets of Los Angeles. This is one example that proves
Bradbury s allegory of how LA changes people can be seen

Key Leadership Skills
There are a variety of leadership models which emphasize key leadership skills. Some of the best models
are designed for specific organizations because it is usually difficult to describe key leadership skills with a
broad brush. However, there are some fundamental skills that all great leaders share in common regardless
of the type of group that they are leading. Whether you are leading a commercial enterprise or a nonprofit
organization, or if you are an elected leader in government, these are five key leadership skills that you
must master:
Strategic Thinking: Leaders must be able to think strategically. This is a complex skill set that includes the
ability to define critical issues, analyze the relevant facts and information, and decide ... Show more content

Once they have formulated a vision, then they must be able to communicate it. The best leaders not only
communicate the facts, but do it in an inspiring way. They are able to persuade their followers that they will
be able to lead them to a better place. If a leader can t communicate effectively, then he or she will be
ineffective as a leader.
Political Savvy: Political savvy is a skill that leaders use to assess the needs of the various stakeholder
groups within their organization. They are also good at recognizing who represents these groups as key
subordinate leaders within their organization. Using their political skills, great leaders are able to build
coalitions by common cause among the key stakeholders. If a leader is unable to build collation, they will
find it very difficult to move ahead with their agenda.
Resilience: Resilience is the skill that leaders need to overcome obstacles. No matter what agenda or vision
the leader may want to pursue, it is always the case that they will run into road blocks on their journey.
Resilience is the skill that leaders use to circumvent the road blocks and continue their journey. They focus

Gender Stereotypes In Disney Movies
People grow up conditioned to believe heavily in gender roles. One of the major contributors to our way of
thinking is the media. Many young children watch Disney movies, through which, they learn how certain
actions affect how they are seen; even material goods like clothes becoming symbolic of not only gender
roles but status. At that age, people are easily influenced by the information that is presented in front of
them. What little girl didn t dream of being a Disney Princess? What little boy didn t want to be a brave
saviour? Girls are taught to want to be damsels in distress, waiting for their princes to come and rescue
them. They are taught to be feminine and use their body in an exclusively seductive (and arguably,
provocative) way. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aladdin has the typically muscular physique, the only thing he wore as a shirt was a purple vest. Aladdin s
body type doesn t actually make any sense for someone who was a street rat who had to steal to eat. The
male body doesn t get as much interest as the female body, but the media, like the female body, also
presented the ideal male body that should be attained. Aladdin is muscular and fit, is the protagonist, the
good guy whereas Jafar, a skinny and bonelike figure is the antagonist, the bad guy . Even the king, who is
short and rounded is an obstacle for Aladdin and Jasmines romance up until the very end. This indicates that
the ideal body type Aladdin teaches boys, is to be muscular and fit and that no other body type is
acceptable. This is also tragic in that in today s media, female body type is touched upon (not as much as it
should), but the struggle for men is completely ignored so there are many men who struggle in silence,
because it is also deemed feminine to be a damsel in distress and require assistance. This vicious cycle
affects men on a daily basis, and Aladdin is just proof that this conditioning is happening from an early

History of Ethnic Relations in Afghanistan, An Outline Essay
I. Introduction
A. Proposal
Afghanistan s national anthem identifies 14 cultural groupings among the list of the nation 27 million
individuals: Pashai, Pashtuns, Aimaq, Tajiks, Qizilbash, Hazaras, Brahuis, Uzbeks, Gujars, Balochis, Arabs,
Nooristanis, Pamiris, as well as Turkmens (Salem Press Encyclopedia, 2013). Several groupings tend to be
native to Afghanistan; the majority of the bigger ones possess considerably higher masse within nearby
nations. Regulating a viable state with such demographics happens to be a key problem. Sustaining
tranquility between these types of groupings is among the greatest issues facing Afghanistan these days and

C. Throughout the following half century, Afghanistan observed a well balanced, central, mainly Pashtun
dominated administration, which depended upon international help to prompt progressive modernization
(Carberry, 2014).
III. Body paragraph #2 Ethnic Division and Unity since 2001
Within the beginning of the 21st century, the discord within Afghanistan had been observed first and
foremost as a possible cultural battle. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia seemed to be bankrolling a Pashtun
takeover in the region simply by assisting the Taliban (Mujtaba, 2013). Then again, Iran, Russia, some
Central Asian states and India backed the fundamentally non Pashtun Northern Alliance, to avoid an entire
Taliban triumph when the fundamentalist militia currently managed in excess of 90 % of Afghanistan s area
(Mujtaba, 2013). Peace building initiatives after that aimed at the development of a representative
government.
A. The majority of United Nations Security Council resolutions backed the initiatives of the Personal
Representative of the Secretary General for Afghanistan in order to move forward a peace procedure by
means of governmental discussions involving the Afghan parties directed at the institution of a broad based,
multiethnic, and fully representative administration (Mujtaba, 2013).
B. Even though the Taliban defied these kinds of promises, the Northern Alliance in addition to Afghanistan

How Technology Has Changed Our Human Condition Essay
Transhumanism...Author sighs deeply... where to begin. Transhumanism (abbreviated as H+ or h+) is an
international and intellectual movement that aims to transform the human condition by developing and
creating widely available sophisticated technologies to enhance human intellectual, physical, and
psychological capacities.
The Transhumanism race will have enhanced bodies and minds. These bodies and minds will change
equality between humans. The physical change will cause basic human rights to be revisited because many
believe transhumanism will promote inequity between economic Transhumans and normal humans.
Today, there are many forms of technology. Just 10 years ago, there was barley the portable cell phone.
These days there are attachments that one can put on a gun and shoot an EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse).
Technology has had break through after ground shattering breakthrough; however, we do not yet have
cyborgs and droids walking around the streets. There are many technologies that exist today that most
people do not know exists. Some of the coolest technology such as cryonics, Virtual reality, gene
therapy/RNA interface (gene enhancements), cybernetics (or robotic body parts), autonomous self
replicating robotics, molecular manufacturing, and mega scale engineering are just a few innovations that
are changing the world as it has never seen before. With these changes comes great responsibility. If the

Islam In America Research Paper
Islam, the world s fastest growing religion and America s third largest faith, continues to prosper at
unprecedented rates. However, despite its growth and prominence in today s society, Muslims in America
continue to be denied a basic right to practice their religion. Throughout the year, there are two major
Islamic holidays that take place: Eid al Fitr and Eid al Adha. Christianity and Judaism, the religious
frontrunners in the U.S., already have several national observances set in place. It is time that Islam, a
religion that will soon surpass Judaism and nearly equal the Christian faith, also gains the right to observe a
national holiday(s).
For this reason, we, the Muslim people of the United States, are asking Congress to make the two

Factors And Mechanisms Of Chain Shifts
Q:What.are.the.motivation.and.mechanisms.of.chain.shifts,and.what.kinds.of.evidence.can.we.use.to.study.them?
Chain.shifts.(870/1000)
Definition.(206/100)
According to Labov (2010:140), chain shifts is a series of sound changes, affecting group of phonemes,
which are causally linked in way that preserve the number of distinctions. Chain shift is a balance system,
and the phonemes within are interrelated. This means that in order to maximized the difference among
phonemes, a change in one part will automatically leads to a change in another. This series of reactions is
called chain shifts. A famous example of chain shift is Grimm s law.(examples?.grimm s.or.any.one)

There are two kinds of chain shifts: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Labov (2010) states that the chain shift is a mechanical result of the language learning process; and this
process includes three stages.
In stage one, there is a tendency of misunderstanding between the pronunciation of phoneme B and A, due
to the fact that some outlying realizations of phoneme B appears to be similar as A. This will make
phoneme tokens of B less likely to be recognized by language learners.
In stage two of a push chain, B encroaching on A, causing a major overlap. In this stage, A tokens in turns
will be mis recognized as B tokens. In this stage, language learners generalize a position which A is pushed
to, and leads to the output in stage 3.
In stage three, the distinction between phoneme A and B is restored, and the system remains balanced.
With the same stable starting point as push chain in stage one, phoneme A in a pull chain shifts away from
B in stage two, leaving a more distinct gap between A and B. As a result, the previously mis recognized
tokens are more likely to be recognized as tokens of B instead of A. Then phoneme B is dragged to fill the
position vacated by A. As a result, restoring a stable boundary between A and B in stage three.
However, this mechanism only describes how chain shifts might work, without explaining the reason
behind this phenomenon. For

What Is Proactive Interference
Introduction
By the age of seven, reading is an activity many children are well accustomed to. With the amount of time
most individuals have been reading, this task is relatively easy. Yet, there are still instances in which we are
reading a novel, a magazine, or even a simple text message, and we simply cannot manage to remember
what we read. This is event is due to interference. Interference theory states that there are two forms of
interference that can hinder our ability to properly encode information into our memory (Bergstrom 1892),
proactive interference and retroactive interference. When reading, however, visual interference can play a
large part in disrupting out learning process.
In the experiment commonly known for the development ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A controlled process is a task which is new or unique to the person. It is serial, takes heavy demands on
attention, requires conscious efforts to direct attention towards the task and is slow. Whereas an automatic
process is a task which has already been learned. It can be parallel, makes no demands on attention, does
not need conscious direction of attention towards the task and is fast. This implies that when we are
presented with a word, the action of stating its color is a relatively new task compared to the already learnt
behavior to read just words. Therefore, reading is seen as the automatic process which interferes with the
slower controlled process of stating the color. With the alteration of the original Stroop Effect experiment,
the automaticity model is discredited due to the fact that instead of stating the word the participant points at
the observed color instead. This nonverbal response, pointing at the color, is not believed to be an automatic
process, thus the automaticity model is questioned when researchers note an interference in the speed of
processing in incongruently colored

Disadvantages Of Group Decision Making
1. Introduction Decision making means to choose the best alternative over many solutions to a problem or
task and it is crucial to the success of a given project or firm. However is it also seen more widely as a
process which includes eight major steps which are: Identification of the problem, identification of decision
criteria, allocation of weights to criteria, developments of alternatives, Analysis of alternatives, selection of
an alternative, implementation of the alternative and evaluation of decision effectiveness. This process is
common to all types of decision making, however in this essay it will be attentively analysed Group
decision making. Group decision making is a modus operandi by which many people conjointly, inspect a
given problem or issue and find a commonly thought solution. These people analyse in depth each possible
strategy that comes up and elect the best option. People composing these working groups can either have
the same cultural background or have different ones but often share a common task. These people are
generally the most affected by the decision taken and are chosen because of their skills. The number of
people comprising these groups may vary indeed. In this essay the effectiveness and the pros and cons of
group decision making will be scrutinized. 2. Effectiveness On a general scale group ... Show more content

Firstly, often it happens that since everyone in a group is responsible for the decisions taken, no one really
is. This means that since the entire group should be accursed for a possible error often people in the group
blame each other. Secondly, since more people participate to a decision to be taken, oftentimes this results
in a time loss. This means that generally groups are not time efficient as individuals. Lastly, it regularly
happens that group components feel inhibited to expose personal thoughts openly because are scared of

The Characteristics Of The Character Of Detectives
1A. A good detective is a very smart person who is able to use evidence and to detect lies and truth. And is
also able to think things in a logic and quicker way as well as understanding criminal s movements. For
example, detective Dupin in the Murders of the Rue Morgue from how the bones were broken and how a
lot of hair was pulled out, he figured out that the criminal was not a human, but rather an
criminal(Orangutan). I proceeded to think thus à posteriori. The murderers did escape from one of these
windows. This being so, they could not have refastened the sashes from the inside, as they were found
fastened; the consideration which put a stop, through its obviousness, to the scrutiny of the police in this
quarter. Yet the sashes were fastened. They must, then, have the power of fastening themselves. There was
no escape from this conclusion. I have seen the character of detectives evolve from one author to the next
by having a brilliant life in Doyle s novel The Sign of the four to love as in Rampo s Beast in the Shadows.
In The Sign of the Four it said, I cannot live without brain work. What else is there to live for? In the Beast
in the Shadows it said, Thus, I fell for her completely, sending her meaningless on a frequent basis. Doyle s,
Rampo s, Gaboriau s, Christie s, and Borges s fiction character and plot were similar as Poe s detective and
plot. Therefore, they do depend on earlier models. In respect, Gaboriau aims to glorify or support the
French police while it said, Well done, Goulard! quoth the commissary, approvingl; Poe has a contemptuous
attitude towards the agency. I believe that Gaboriau got the idea from Poe, but did the opposite from what I
see, I could definitely tell that Poe deserves the title One of American Greatest Storyteller because so many
authors followed his example of how to write a detective novel. Which shows that his writing impact others
to write detective novels. 2A. Rule number 10: The culprit must turn out to be a person who has played a
more or less prominent part in the story that is a, person with whom the reader is familiar and in whom he
takes an interest. I think Christie played fair with this. The book she used this idea in with great

Summer Vacation
It s not often that our family gets to fly back to the states to visit family so when my brother and I flew back
during the summer of 2015, we were more than excited to be going back to South Carolina to see close
relatives that we d been missing. Since our relatives live on the coast it is often customary to visit the beach
during our vacation to kick back and enjoy ourselves. After moving to Germany our experience with the
sun and beach had been little to none. Needless to say, we were all excited to be going to the beach again
since it had been some years and we d forgotten what it was like to be at one. That summer vacation my
brother and I were quickly reminded of all the fun to be had, the people we could meet, and the lessons we
could learn while we were at the beach. When first arriving at the beach we were greeted by the sights of
wet sand, crashing waves, strong blowing winds, and a hot radiating sun. After the initial setup of towels,
umbrellas, and applying of sunscreen my cousins, brother and I bolted for the waves that rose up the shore.
Swimming in a pool is nothing like swimming in the ocean, everything felt more extreme as we floated
over waves and were dragged around by the current. It wasn t long until my brother and I were reminded of
a childhood joy of ours, which was facing off against the waves. We would swim to a place where we could
stand firmly and try to remain standing as waves would crash down often taking us with them. When we d

Conflict Between The Political Factions Of Palestine

THE INTRACTABLE CONFLICT AMONG THE POLITICAL FACTIONS OF PALESTINE
CHAPTER 3
AN INTRACTABLE CONFLICT:
SOCIAL CLEAVAGES WITHIN THE POLITICAL STRUCTURES OF PALESTINE
The Intractable Conflict: What It Is How Does it Correlate with the Political Factions of Palestine?
Intractable Conflicts go by many names, such as the Protracted Social Conflicts or the Identity Related
Conflicts. These are long conflicts that are self sustaining, deep rooted and the product of long lasting
hatreds and wars; since WWII, which has made international politics unpredictable and unstable.
[footnoteRef:1] Most of these prolonged conflicts (not all) have had international interventions or have
involved superpowers that have made efforts to end the conflict through diplomatic, mediatory,
peacekeeping, humanitarian development assistance and in extreme cases, military intervention means.
However, some of these conflicts have resisted any kind of settlement and/or resolution, which can
complicate the situation further.[footnoteRef:2] [1: Chester A. Crocker, Fen Osler Hampson, and Pamela
Aall Ed., Grasping the Nettles: Analyzing Cases of Intractable Conflict, (United States Institute of Peace
Press: Washington, D.C., 2005), 4.] [2: Ibid. ]
The intractable conflicts or the protracted social conflicts have various unique components such as
religious, cultural, or ethnic communal identities; they may be functioning of the fundamental needs of

Personal, Social And Institutional Power
1. Define personal, social and institutional power. Give an example of each type of power that is displayed
in the movie.
a. Personal power is the degree of control an individual has over their own decisions. In Remember the
Titans, an example of personal power was when the white boy made a decision to start a fight with Petey
Jones (a black boy) because Petey was talking to his girlfriend and threw the first punch.
b. Social power is expressed in the way different people relate to each other, or in social dynamics . An
example of social power in the film is when the white team captain, Gerry Bertier took the advice of his
fellow teammate and black team captain when he disciplined one of his team members for not defending
adequately.
c. Institutional power is when some people have authority over others because of their position of
responsibility, usually based on their expertise or experience. Institutional power is when Coach Herman
Boone says, This is no democracy. It is a dictatorship. I am the law, as he is the head of power in the
football team and was asserting his dominance.
2. Belonging, stereotyping and discrimination are 3 key issues explored in Remember the Titans. Why is it
important for young people to develop an understanding of these three concepts in today s society? (Link
your response with examples from the movie and/or personal experience.)
It is essential for adolescents to acquire an awareness of belonging, stereotyping and discrimination as

Semi Structured Interviews
This research will be processed by using qualitative methods, specifically semi structured interview. Semi
structured interviews are a valuable research method when focus of the study is exploring meanings and
subjective perceptions (Gilham, 2000). Furthermore, semi structured interview is appropriate when the
focus of research is primarily on gaining insights and disclosure of personal experiences or meanings.
This research will be designed to gather information about the mothers of child aged 0 5 who has been
fostered at young age. It will be focused on sharing their experiences as a foster child, how they would want
to rear their children, what was most difficult being a raised by non biological parents, and how they would
want to establish bonding with their child. If they feel their certain behaviour to the child is caused due to
personal foster history. The mothers with at least one pre school child will receive an invitation to engage in
the study. The population sample size will be determined by the constraints of limited resources, the number
of interviews to be managed and the time and resources available (Bryman, 2012). The participants will be
selected to establish range of wide spectrum including age, ethnicity, socio economic, and kin and non kin
placement to provide consequential meanings through interviews. From this cohort, 12 mothers of children
who may be risk of poor attachment development will be hoped for this research. Number of interviews

  • 2. Analysis Of The Pink Car By Mark Halliday Different Perspectives In recent generations, typical looks or ideas have dominated fashion. People write about this topic through articles, newspapers, and papers. While models style and display the most recent styles, they also represent what women should look like. Not until very recently, people have realized that not all women look like models, unless they starved themselves or worse. In the poems, Fat is Not a Fairy Tale and The Pink Car , the authors convey their main message of the poem as the social aspect of the world and what they believe has the characteristics of the ideal person by using imagery and personification. Admiration for individuality, a common theme throughout The Pink Car , was constantly mentioned through the words of the Mark Halliday. Furthermore, Halliday personifies the cars in the poem as people; specifically focusing in on the pink car. He repeatedly describes the other cars in a jaundiced way; for example, he would characterize these cars as boisterous, rowdy, and big. However, he identifies the pink car as disparate, one who does not worry or care about other cars perspectives. The author wrote, Other cars might honk their horns to seem big // the pink car doesn t honk and doesn t worry (Halliday 25 26). Halliday symbolizes the car as pink because society commonly construes the color as feminist, sweet, playful, the color of love, flowers and romance. His intention of this poem was to help one find peace within themselves. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Comparison of Behaviorism and the Humanistic Approach It is said that humanistic psychology was developed upon the limitations of behaviourism. The humanistic approach is often referred to as the third force in psychology coming after psychoanalysis and behaviourism; it is an alternative approach to psychology (Maslow, 1968). It offered a more wholesome approach to psychology at the time in comparison to behaviourism and psychoanalysis. This essay will compare and contrast behaviourism and humanistic psychology; it will focus on their contributions to psychological theory and their applications in the real world. Why don t we make what can be observed the real field of psychology (Watson, 1929). Watson (1878 1958) was born into a poor family in South Carolina. His mother was a religious woman, and his father drank a lot and had multiple affairs (Watson, 1999). Watson himself married twice, having two children in each marriage. He didn t seem to have good relationships with his children it is said that one of the main reasons for this may be because he used his children throughout his research. He studied in the University of Chicago where he later became known as the founder of Behaviourism. He wrote an essay in 1914 titled Psychology as the Behaviourist views it where he stated that behaviourism is an objective experimental branch of natural science (Watson, 1914). Behaviourism is a theory of learning that argues that all behaviours are acquired through conditioning (Carver Scheier, 2012). Behaviourists believe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Therefore, huge amount of ECG signal collected by body sensor networks from remote patients at homes will be transmitted along with other personal biological readings such as blood pressure, temperature, glucose level, etc., and get treated accordingly by those remote patient monitoring systems. It is very important that patient privacy is protected while data are being transmitted over the public network as well as when they are stored in hospital servers . In this paper, a one new technique has been introduced which is the hybrid of encryption and wavelet based ECG steganography technique . Encryption allows privacy and ECG steganography allows to hide one sensitive data into other insensitive host thus guaranteeing the integration between ECG and the rest. Keywords: ECG ,encryption ... • 6. Alternate Possibilities And Moral Responsibility By Harry... Alternate Possibilities and Moral Responsibility talks about the principle of alternate possibilities. The principle of alternate possibilities states that someone is morally responsible if they could have chosen to do otherwise. People who believe in free will are very supportive of the principle Free will is the power of acting without the constraint of necessity or fate; the ability to act at one s own discretion. The principle of alternate possibilities, moral responsibility, and free will are all involved in this paper written by Harry Frankfurt. Frankfurt states that its exact meaning is a subject of controversy, particularly concerning whether someone who accepts it is thereby committed to believing that moral responsibility and determinism ... Jones 4 had another person in the picture unlike any of the other Jones and his name was Black. Black is a lurker who watches what Jones 4 does, but Jones 4 is totally unaware that anyone is watching him. If Jones 4 decided to do what he was going to do then Black will stay away without making any threats, but if Jones 4 decides to not do what he is going to do then Black will reveal himself to threaten and force Jones 4 into doing what he had decided not to do. If Jones 4 decided to do what he was going to do without Black having to intervene in anyway then that makes Jones 4 morally responsible for since he had chosen to do it himself. If Jones 4 had decided to not do what he was going to do and Black intervened by threatening and forcing Jones 4 into doing something he initially decided he didn t want to do, that would make Black morally responsible. In the case of Jones 4, he never really had a choice on whether or not he could or could not do what he was going to do. Either way he was going to have to do what he was going to do. Jones 4 situation proves the principle of alternate possibilities wrong in the fact that Jones 4 never had a choice so someone can be morally responsible even without having a choice in the matter, which Jones 4 never knew he did not have. Harry Frankfurt then presents a revision of the principle of alternate possibilities. The new principle says that someone is morally responsible for their action if they did it only because they could not have done otherwise. • 7. Imogene King Essay a) How would you answer the questions below that were posed by King based on what you know about current nursing practice? Imogene King s theory of goal attainment focused on the cooperation between nurses and patients (Masters, 2015). Both parties would share information, set a common goal, and work to achieve the set objectives. King was convinced that nurses had to help people to maintain fundamental aspects of their health and hence ensure wellness (Masters, 2015). The questions posed by King would be answered by considering the points of synergy between the current practice and perceived health outcomes. In this manner, the focus of the nursing will be on the patient. b) What is the scope of practice of nurse practitioners, nurse educators and nurse leaders, and in what kind of settings do these nursing professionals perform their functions? • 8. The Effects Of Underage Drinking According to the New York Times, More than 1,800 students die every year of alcohol related causes...600,000 are injured while drunk, and nearly 100,000 become victims of alcohol influenced sexual assaults (Mcmurtrie). This is the case as many students in America find happiness in the consumption of unhealthy amounts of alcohol and underage drinking. Unfortunately, these issues have been more prevalent on college campuses, where students have formed a culture of abusing alcohol. There seems to be no solution in sight as many college students fall victim to the devastating effects of alcohol abuse and underage drinking despite the legal drinking age. Regardless of the brutal effects of misusing alcohol, college students still continue to binge drink and participate in underage drinking. This leads one to wonder the cause of this destructive phenomenon. While some blame the minimum drinking age, others blame the society and the ignorance of the college students. Although these factors may contribute, in reality, college students in the U.S. tend to abuse alcohol because of their perception of alcohol and its consumption. To begin with, students think of alcohol as helpful and necessary for social engagement. This is because they are burdened with the societal pressure of fitting in when they get to college. They are placed in a new environment, where they feel they have to get acquainted with their peers in order to survive. In an article about college drinking, Dr. Jodi ... • 9. The United Kingdom Of England And Northern Ireland Arguments by the UK: The United Kingdom of England and Northern Ireland believes that Ecuador has no legal right or basis to grant political or diplomatic asylum to Assange for various legal reasons that the Court is set to debate. First, the United Kingdom s involvement in the topic comes from their obligation to extradite Julian Assange to Sweden under Article 35, Clause 3 of the Extradition Act of 2003. Since Sweden has filed for an EAW that has been approved by the UK, the UK is under a formal legal obligation to extradite Assange to Sweden. An EAW is a legal document that obligates European members to surrender persons who have committed or are suspected of committing crimes in EU territories.15 The United Kingdom counter argues Ecuador s claim that Assange is a political refugee who has been granted political asylum on the grounds that he is escaping persecution due to his political beliefs. They see no relevance of Assange s political actions or views to this case as the primary purpose of his extradition is due to allegations of sexual assault that have supposedly occurred in Sweden. Due to sexual assault being a crime that has no known relation to his political views, the UK claims that Assange does not fit the criteria listed within Article 1 of the United Nations Convention and Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees. Therefore, Assange s status as a political refugee is unfounded in the opinion of the UK. On the topic of his potential extradition to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Currently, in the City of Manhattan doesn t have enough bike lanes in town where bicyclists can ride safely on the road. While the bike lanes might not currently have high traffic, adding more will increase the use of the current ones. It is a challenge as a bicyclist when bike lanes are not on every road throughout the city. For example, when bicyclists ride down or up Casement Road and on Westwood Rd meets with Fort Riley Blvd, the road starts off wide enough for both a car and a bicyclist. The lane shrinks, so there s only room for a car, which leaves bicyclist in an awkward position with nowhere to go since bikes shouldn t be on the sidewalks. And having bike lanes also keeps citizens from the nearby neighborhood from riding on the sidewalks, which is illegal for them to ride on. Given that at least half of the bicyclists never use the bike paths, I am advocating for bike lanes, particularly on the uphill side of the road. Simply adding 2 feet of pavement and minimizing the ditch alongside the road will both maximize bicycle safety and minimize cost. I believe that the bike lane is needed to keep them safe. In the winter, the bike lane will help keep cars from getting stuck in the ditch after snowstorms when it is virtually impossible to tell where the road ends and the ditch begins. When there are more bikes around, people drive safe and when there are more bikes around, people drive safer and are aware of them. The more bicyclists we see, the safer the roads are going to be for them. I think Manhattan should be doing everything it can to encourage people to bike safe and make the city a safer place to bike ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ethnography is a detailed description of a particular group based on the information you get with field work. Most anthropologist actually go live with this particular group for a certain amount of time to get the more information possible and write the most detailed and accurate description of this group. As per the report of CPCB 2012, India generated 127485.107 MT/Day out of which 70 % is collected, rest are lying either on the roads or water body. The waste collected is inadequate to reuse, recycle or generate it for the energy due to its mixed character, lack of financial constraint and competence of the municipal body. The Grandmother O Connor Analysis This family is portrayed by O Connor as wannabe perfectionism by thinking they are better than they truly are, but the grandmother specifically is the worst of them. She tries to convince the family to take a trip to Tennessee rather than Florida which is their usual vacation spot. The grandma persuades them all by saying that there is a misfit of an escaped convict in Florida to make the decision on where to go a no brainer. Bailey knows that wherever they go, grandma will also go. On the trip towards Florida, they detour to an unknown road the grandma thought she visited before, unfortunate events happen while on this road; her cat gets out of its cage and manages to startles the driver Bailey who ends up crashing and getting them killed. The grandmother s concern for the trip is ironic since the trip ends up going sour even though the grandma had tried avoiding possible dangerous situation especially with the scare of the escaped convict. Grandmothers concern foreshadows the trip, first the fact that she dressed in a floral dress and hat, just in case of an accident people would know she is a lady, as if preparing for a possible funeral. Labov (2010) states that the chain shift is a mechanical result of the language learning process; and this process includes three stages. In stage one, there is a tendency of misunderstanding between the pronunciation of phoneme B and A, due to the fact that some outlying realizations of phoneme B appears to be similar as A. This will make phoneme tokens of B less likely to be recognized by language learners. In stage two of a push chain, B encroaching on A, causing a major overlap. In this stage, A tokens in turns will be mis recognized as B tokens. In this stage, language learners generalize a position which A is pushed to, and leads to the output in stage 3. In stage three, the distinction between phoneme A and B is restored, and the system remains balanced. With the same stable starting point as push chain in stage one, phoneme A in a pull chain shifts away from B in stage two, leaving a more distinct gap between A and B. As a result, the previously mis recognized tokens are more likely to be recognized as tokens of B instead of A. Then phoneme B is dragged to fill the position vacated by A. As a result, restoring a stable boundary between A and B in stage three. However, this mechanism only describes how chain shifts might work, without explaining the reason behind this phenomenon. This implies that when we are presented with a word, the action of stating its color is a relatively new task compared to the already learnt behavior to read just words. Therefore, reading is seen as the automatic process which interferes with the slower controlled process of stating the color. With the alteration of the original Stroop Effect experiment, the automaticity model is discredited due to the fact that instead of stating the word the participant points at the observed color instead. • 30. The Characteristics Of The Character Of Detectives 1A. A good detective is a very smart person who is able to use evidence and to detect lies and truth. And is also able to think things in a logic and quicker way as well as understanding criminal s movements. For example, detective Dupin in the Murders of the Rue Morgue from how the bones were broken and how a lot of hair was pulled out, he figured out that the criminal was not a human, but rather an criminal(Orangutan). I proceeded to think thus à posteriori. The murderers did escape from one of these windows. This being so, they could not have refastened the sashes from the inside, as they were found fastened; the consideration which put a stop, through its obviousness, to the scrutiny of the police in this quarter. Yet the sashes were fastened. They must, then, have the power of fastening themselves. There was no escape from this conclusion. I have seen the character of detectives evolve from one author to the next by having a brilliant life in Doyle s novel The Sign of the four to love as in Rampo s Beast in the Shadows. In The Sign of the Four it said, I cannot live without brain work. What else is there to live for? In the Beast in the Shadows it said, Thus, I fell for her completely, sending her meaningless on a frequent basis. Doyle s, Rampo s, Gaboriau s, Christie s, and Borges s fiction character and plot were similar as Poe s detective and plot. Therefore, they do depend on earlier models. In respect, Gaboriau aims to glorify or support the French police while it said, Well done, Goulard! quoth the commissary, approvingl; Poe has a contemptuous attitude towards the agency. I believe that Gaboriau got the idea from Poe, but did the opposite from what I see, I could definitely tell that Poe deserves the title One of American Greatest Storyteller because so many authors followed his example of how to write a detective novel. Which shows that his writing impact others to write detective novels. 2A.
