Similarities And Differences Between Two University
Each university is different in it is own way, because in each building there are different nations,
faculties, and majors as well as the atmosphere of the university. However, sometimes there are some
common features between two universities and that build a similarity between the two. In the
education city at Qatar, there are more than six different universities; each university is majoring in a
specific major. For example, Texas A M University at Qatar is offering a degree in engineering and
Northwestern University at Qatar is offering a degree in communication and journalism. There are
similar features between both of the universities, and at the same time, each university is different in a
way.

So simply, one university is majoring in a science field, and the other one is more practical. The
difference causes differences in the method of studying in these universities. Each university required
a specific method of studying, for instance, studying engineering required understanding math and
physics concepts and the ability to solve equations. However, studying communication and journalism
required an understanding of the historical and political topics and the ability to read and write fast. As
a result, a different type of work needs to be done for each university because they are different. As an
illustration, at Northwestern University, the students need to write many reflections and research and
read the newspapers to see what is happening the world to major in this field. However, at Texas A M,
the students need to study calculus and mechanics and understand the process of how the object is
working to be an engineer. In other words, TAMUQ required understanding and hard studying and
NUQ required practicing and

Bystander Intervention
StepUp is an interactive workshop that talks about how to intervene in situations with problematic
behavior either intentional and unintentional. In the workshop, I learned how to assess challenging
situations and determine how to safely intercede and still be protected from or not exposed to danger
or risk implementing the 3Ds Direct, Distract, and Delegate. I also learned about Bystander
Intervention a philosophy and strategy for prevention of various types of violence, including bullying,
hazing, harassment, sexual assault, relationship violence, discrimination, binge drinking, and mental
health concerns. How these are of great importance was addressed as well why these prevent the pre
mentioned harmful situations and how we can use them.
Using these techniques direct, delegate and distract to help someone get out of a bad situation made
me feel happy to be able to make a difference in someone else s life because of the possible outcomes
that could have happened if I did not help. Also, these techniques made me feel safer in a party setting
in that if I m aware and actively using it to help others, it is likely that others are doing the same.
Although I usually do not find myself in a setting that these would be particularly useful, I feel like I
would be of good help if I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

drinking and made it clear to the people I was with. The conversation headed into the fact that I had
never drunk which turned into a drink being pushed at my face. Though I was able to assert myself
and refuse, it would have been nice if someone had stepped up, especially since I had made it clear to
the aggressor that I was not going to

The Celebrated Jumping Frog Of Calavers County Analysis
I have picked The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County by Mark Twain because it s talking
about the bet and also because at the end of the discussion forum unit 5, my classmate
(Ghobry_Raafat) says: I liked this story so much it has a life lesson that never depends on gambling to
fulfill your dream, but hard work. (Ghobry, (2017), p,n). It s the story of a man who was traveling and
was supposed to obey to his friend request (who wrote me from the East) by doing a favor for him
while he is traveling, to ask about his friend s friend called Leonidas W. Smiley. During his trip, he
found Simon Wheeler in the ancient mining camp of Angel s and told him his friend had
commissioned him to make some inquiries about a companion named Leonidas W. Smiley. And then
he asked him to tell him what he knew of Rev. Leonidas W. Smiley, he replied by the other thing, a
story of Jim Smiley, who was the most curious man about always betting on anything, particularly on
the animal s fight. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Oedipus Rex Critical Analysis
The ending of Oedipus Rex by Sophocles leaves its viewers imagining themselves in the main
character s position, grateful to be without his problems. All over the course of one day, Oedipus
learns that he has unintentionally manifested a prophecy which he thought he had previously resolved
by killing his father, replacing him as king, and marrying his wife, Oedipus mother. By the end of the
day, Oedipus is so distraught after finding out the truth and seeing that Jocasta, his mother, has killed
herself, he feels compelled to do something with all his misunderstood, piled up emotions. He takes
the gold pins off Jocasta s clothing and uses them to stab out his eyes. Oedipus takes part in this self
punishment because he believes that he, not the prophecy, is to blame for his actions, that being blind
will make him oblivious again, and because he thinks it will somehow make up for his actions so that
he can partially relieve himself of the bottomless guilt he now feels. Rather than blaming the gods and
their prophecy, Oedipus places all the guilt upon himself, and for this reason, Oedipus feels he is fully
deserving of inflicting pain onto himself in the form of gauging his eyes out. Though deep down he
may know that the future was not in his hands, when he pictures the past he sees himself, not the gods,
committing the murder, marrying his mother, etc. Because of this disconnect, he can t bring himself to
blame the gods, for in the end, he feels that he was the one in

Unit 7 M2
P5 describe the impact of international factors on a selected business.
M3 assess the impact of changes in the global and European business environment on a selected
business.
Kyoto Protocol
The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement on Climate Change. The major feature of the Kyoto
Protocol is that it sets binding targets for 37 industrialized countries and the European community for
reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This amounts to an average of five per cent over the five year
period 2008 2012.
The Protocol was initially adopted on 11 December 1997 in Kyoto, Japan, and entered into force on
16 February 2005. As of September 2011, 191 states had signed and joined the protocol. The only
remaining signatory not to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The store which is timber framed rather than steel costs 30% more to build than others stores, however
this does not bother Tesco as they know that this will be cost efficient as huge savings will be made on
electricity and water bills. This will be done by using rain water to flush toilets and to wash the cars in
the car wash while the refrigerators will have doors to save energy while also getting rid of harmful
HFC refrigerant gases.
On the Tesco website they claim that their aim is to become a zero carbon business by 2050. Another
sign that they are making forward footsteps to do this was in 2010 when they installed over 500
PowerPerfector units at a cost of about 25m. Each unit will help a store save between 5 and 8% of its
total energy usage which should equate to around 12m a year.
Tesco have established that an effective way to cut their carbon footprint is to self generate energy
from renewable sources such as solar, wind, biomass and geothermal. To do this they have set aside
£500m which will be spent over the next five years on environmentally friendly technologies such as
these.
The Kyoto protocol clearly has already had a huge impact on Tesco as massive amounts of money
have been pumped into the project in the aim of reducing first reducing its carbon footprint on stores
by 50% in 2020. The fact that Tesco are actually doing this quickly rather than simply talking about it

Summary Of Lord Of The Flies By Joseph Dyess
My name is Joseph Dyess and I am a huge fan of your book Lord of the Flies. It is one of my favorite
books and is very thought provoking. In writing you, I wanted to discuss my favorite parts of the
book, as well as some ideas and real life connections I made while reading it.
One of my favorite parts in Lord of the Flies was the ending when the naval officer criticized the boys
for exhibiting savage behavior before turning and looking at his own warship. This was one of my
favorite parts because while reading it, I thought of the irony of the naval officer s criticism. The
civilized naval officer was also part of a savage world which didn t make him that different from the
savage boys on the island. My other favorite part was when the frenzied boys mistook Simon for the
beast and killed him. This was also one of my favorite parts because of what Simon s death
symbolized. I thought about how Simon s death symbolized the loss of civilization on the island and
was the catalyst which allowed Jack to take control over the island and let chaos and savagery reign.

The majority of the boys on the island succumb to the instinct of savagery, while a few such as, Ralph,
Piggy, and Simon fight the instinct of savagery and try to establish civilization on the island. Lord of
the Flies seems to imply that the instinct of savagery is fundamental and when left on their own,
humans will naturally revert to it. I can relate to this struggle in my own daily life. For example, when
I am having and argument with someone, I am torn between using savage violence or civilized words

The Artist, Hans Rudi Giger and The Birth Machine
HR GIGER
The Swiss surrealist, Hans Rudi Giger is one of the few artists worldwide who does not and doesn t to
sign his works of art. He is considered the modern day master of the macabre and his works are
recognisable at first glance.
The motifs of birth, death and sex are the predominant subjects of Giger s art. From the beginning of
his career, powerful elements, seemingly inspired by repressed memories of a traumatic birth,
appeared from his talented hand. He willingly acknowledges that themes of birth trauma appear in his
works.
By 1966 he had begun producing a series of shaft pictures which had their primary origins in dreams.
Bottomless shafts, undoubtedly representative of the birth canal, surrounded by a series of steep
banister less stairways the embodying fear and danger predominated these pictures. Other works
produced at that time had birth allusions, and included underground cities as well as buried bio
mechanoids. These humanoid beings combined features of humans with mechanical equipment.
Continuing the birth trauma passage theme in his art, Giger later became engrossed with passages.
These pictures were the result of a series of dreams. He writes, in these I usually found myself in a

Anti Poaching Act Essay
The Honorable Doug Collins

Dear Representative Collins:
H.R. 2494 Global Anti Poaching Act interests me since I am a strong animal activist. California
Representative Edward Royce introduced this bill earlier this year with hopes of getting it approved.
The purpose of this bill is to support global anti poaching efforts, strengthen the capacity of partner
countries to counter wildlife trafficking, and designate major wildlife trafficking countries. I want you
to vote for this bill because as an animal activist and believer in animal rights I have confidence that
by getting this bill passed, the deaths of animals due to poaching and trafficking will ... Show more

Ambulatory Care
Ambulatory care is a type of medical care that is provided to patients who do not need to be admitted
to a hospital for treatment. It is often referred to as outpatient care . It includes diagnosis, observation,
consultation, treatment, intervention, and rehabilitation services. Ambulatory care can be delivered in
a variety of settings, including doctor s offices, clinics, hospitals, emergency departments, eye doctors,
etc. This type of care tends to be preferred because most people want to avoid staying in a hospital
more than needed, and it is also less expensive. Most hospitals encourage patients to choose outpatient
care if it is possible, that way the facilities will be free for more critical patients and to cut down on
overall expenses.

the company later realized that the boom in the demand in the Mumbai market was nothing but the

At first, the title seems to focus on Addie. Of the 59 sections, Addie only narrates one section, and it is
filled with stories from the past. She was alive for a quarter of the novel and when she passed, the
Bundrens began the journey to bury her as she wished; however, the farther away from home they got,
the more it seems as if the family was dying as well. What seems to be rock bottom from the

Social Media And Its Impact On New Media
The widespread use of social media and the resulting transition to a system dependent on new media
has fundamentally changed the ways in which we communicate. One significant aspect of
communication that has been drastically altered is the news media and their presence on social media
sites such as Twitter primarily as a result of our changing interactions with and procurement of the
news. Over the course of the last semester, I worked as an Assistant Producer for both Unify and
Activism Media, which are sister companies. One of the most significant experiences I had during my
internship was in my work as a journalist for Activism Media. I was assigned to cover the public s
responses to the death of Michael Brown and the subsequent protests following the failure to indict
both Darren Wilson and Daniel Pantaleo (also known as the Shut it Down protests). My experiences
during this assignment illustrated a number of theoretical concepts in the media studies field chiefly:
citizen journalism, agenda setting, and framing. The creation of the printing press and news media
significantly altered the world s ability to communicate. Many scholars have argued that with the
printing press came a transformation of the public sphere and the public s ability to discuss and
identify societal issues. Jürgen Habermas, a German sociologist and philosopher, posits that early
modern capitalism created conditions for this bourgeois public sphere to emerge. Numerous
conditions permitted

The Leader Of The Bootlegging Operations During The War On...
Throughout times there have been many great leaders and societies or organizations that have risen to
power that has attracted the looks of many. During the prohibition it was Al Capone s gang and during
the war on drugs it s the Mexican Drug Cartel and their leader Omar Treviño Morales. The two groups
follow similar paths, at first glance they have different types of leaders but they have grown to power
in similar environments that deal with their enemies in a similar fashion.
With every great criminal organization there is always a great leader showing the way. The leader of
the bootlegging operations during the prohibition was a man named Alphonse Gabriel Capone or as he
is better known as, Al Capone. Al Capone was a man that was well respected as well as feared and

Migrant Mother Image Essay
A picture of a mother and her three children became one of the most recognizable photos in history. It
came out of the Great Depression. In the black and white picture, a woman sits holding her infant,
while resting her head in her right hand, with hopelessness displayed on her face. She has two older
children leaning on her, their back facing the camera. Dorothea Lange, the photographer, worked for
the federal government. Her assignment was to take photographs of rural poverty and capture the
effects of it in her photographs. Migrant Mother did that. It was later discovered that the mother in the
image is Florence Thompson, who died in 1983. The Migrant Mother image sparks numerous

The image symbolizes most of the mothers during the Great Depression. They felt discouraged
because they could not care for their kids. Michael Austin says that she was a mother of seven at age
thirty two (568), which is how many families were. There were numerous big families during the
beginning of the twentieth century. That caused more struggle for them because there were more
mouths to feed. Henry states that the mother was Aged both by weather and misfortune, she is a victim
of intense poverty (38). Majority of Americans were like that during the Great Depression. Almost
everyone suffered from poverty. This image displayed her level of suffering, which is why it
symbolizes the Americans during the Great Depression. James C. Curtis agrees because he states After
its publication in 1936, Migrant Mother became a timeless and universal symbol of suffering in the
face of adversity (1). However, the symbolism of the picture goes deeper than that. The tent the
mother and her children was staying in represents the country. It represents how unstable the country
is. The country had fallen apart, just as easy as their home could. There are numerous instances of
symbolism in this image which contributes as to why it is so representative of that

The Impact Of James Madison On The Constitution
Back in the late 1700s, James Madison helped the U.S. constitution. He was born in 1751, and grew

3,000 slaves. James Madison got caught up tensions between colonists and British authorities.
Madison wrote more than fought. That writing took Madison to Orange county representatives.
Somewhere along the line, James Madison met Thomas Jefferson. Madison is a federalist at his best.
Madison was campaigning for a strong government. James wanted to import a new structure of checks

Human Perception Of The World
Introduction Our perception of the world as individuals is unusually thought of because we are
unaware of the physiological and psychological capabilities our brains possess. Through sound,
recognition, and vision, animals have inherited these traits for generations. One significant factor
pertaining to who we are and how we perceive the world around us are influenced by the genes
inherited in our lineage. One particular trait that is important in our lives is color vision and color
blindness, particularly cone dysfunction syndrome. Cone dysfunction syndrome is a heterogeneous
group of inherited disorders resulting from a mutation of photopigment genes (Simunovic 1998). This
rare form of visual deficiency can branch from achromatopsia, ... Show more content on

The red green opsins are the most susceptible for mutation due to the localization of each protein,
producing color blindness. The localization of the red and green opsins is near each other and contains
ninety eight percent identical in their DNA sequences (Sanders et al 2012). Mutations in these genes
are caused by an error during crossover in prophase I of female meiosis. It occurs in female meiosis
rather than male meiosis due to the fact that opsin genes are produced by the X linked chromosome
which females possess. This states that mothers are the sole carriers of color blindness and it is rare for
a female to express color blindness. Dalton s eyes contributed to the understanding of color vision 150
years after his death. His interests on color blindness have paved the way to understand color
deficiency in our society.
Achromatopsia
In Color Vision and Genetics in a Case of Cone Dysfunction Syndrome, Crognale and Neitz ask the
question: How drastic are genetic variability s influential to our perception of color vision? To further
answer this question, both researchers analyzed cone dysfunction syndrome and how it varies from
normal color vision by having a patient in the study with an abnormal case of color vision ranging
between achromatopsia to mild green deficiencies. Achromatopsia is the condition in which people
perceive the world only of shades of grey while having normal cones in the retina (Snowden 2006).

U.s. Securities And Exchange
The U.S. Securities and Exchange (SEC) was created in response to the 1929 stock market crash
which was responsible to monitor and regulate the stock market after the crash which led to the Great
Depression. Since the creation of U.S. Securities and Exchange agency multiple laws and regulations
were added to help maintain the balance and oversight of the exchanges and the stock market.
Additional laws and regulations have been added as a result in condition or incident within the stock

Costs are not only measured with the effects of the economy in mind, they are measured in how they
will affect people and their future.
The cost of under regulation can be detrimental to the future of securities. As our nation s securities
exchanges mature into global for profit competitors, there is even greater need for sound market
regulation. And the common interest of all Americans in a growing economy that produces jobs,
improves our standard of living, and protects the value of our savings means that all of the SEC s
actions must be taken with an eye toward promoting the capital formation that is necessary to sustain
economic growth. (www.sec.gov, n.d.) This statement, part of the SEC introduction, describes the
monumental task to regulate and manage investments for everyone. Costs associated with under
regulation can be measured in billions of dollars lost over the past decade in businesses such as Enron,
Tyco International, WorldCom, and many others. These corporations misused laws and regulations by
inflating earnings and bad corporate accounting practices. The cost to investors was in the billions of
dollars and led to onset of laws to include Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002, Dodd Frank Wall Street
Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, and Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act. As
all these laws were enacted to protect investors, some controversies arose outlining second and third

Representation Of Women In The Shipman s Tale
Both, The Jew of Malta and The Shipman s Tale by Christopher Marlowe and Geoffrey Chaucer,
presents women as accessory characters who are at the disposal of the male protagonist. To a medieval
reader, the restrictions women experienced when it came to participating in political, economical, and
social affairs may have been normal, yet to a contemporary reader, their treatment and participation in
literature is essential to understanding the limited role of women as social agents. Moreover, it is
important to closely analyze unanswered questions about their obedience or defiance.
On the other hand, the representation of women in both the works of Marlowe and Chaucer has been
recognized by scholars as positive. Anna Beskin in her article, ... Show more content on

Moreover, Abigail s body was a simple interchange that when no longer needed was disposed of. This
is where Beskin and I differ because I believe her father Barabas is never exposed for who is, which is
an opportunist. By using his daughter s body in order for her to enter a convent, he was able to get
what he desired the most. These materialistic desires include, the gold, the pearls, and jewels...he [had]
hid ( Marlowe 16). The reader is able to see that the pleasures of the father were fulfilled. Again the
reader must take into account that Barabas happiness revolved around his ability to retain his wealth.
To move away from the view that Abigail had the choice to decide whether to be or not be her father s
accomplice, the reader must pay attention to the expectations of a daughter. Abigail never actually had
the opportunity to decide if she was going to be loyal to her father. Abigail was expected to be
obedient to her father. This idea is reaffirmed in Kathryn Martin s article Fathers and Daughters in
Renaissance England , which states, [d]aughters are perhaps the greatest victims of a patriarchal
family and Elizabethan daughters were no exception...in this male centered society, women were held
at a lesser status, and always had to answer to her father. A man had complete control over his family;
they were considered his property to do with as he pleased (Martin 1). Even if a woman comes from a
wealthy family like the Elizabethan daughters or the rich background of the merchant Barabas, women
are subjected to a strictly patriarchal society. Inclusively, Dena Goldberg in her article, Sacrifice in
Marlowe s the Jew of Malta informs the reader that Barabas and Abigail s relationship is often times

Why Is Harvard So Important To Faber
Faber is an old, retired college professor, and as he has confessed, ...a coward. I saw the way things
were going, a long time back. I said nothing. I m one of the innocents who could have spoken up and
out when no one would listen to the guilty , but I did not speak and thus guilty myself , (79). It is true
that because of this cowardice, he often misses out and makes unwise actions. This is shown when
Montag went to Faber with his plan but refused to help until after Montag began to rip pages out of
the bible. For this reason, the phrase, Now, it s too late (79), seems to really go hand in hand with
Faber. In contrast, Montag seems to be more brave in his actions, and acting without thinking
beforehand, reading aloud pages out of one of his books to Mildred s friends, with little fear for
whatever consequences may arise after. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is that they are both dedicated to sparking a change in their society, even though Montag tends to
show this newly grown dedication more outwardly than Faber, by going to Faber demanding him to
teach how to think for himself, and to better understand what he needed to do for change to take place.
Faber has shown an intention of speaking out against these unjust actions of burning books, but
something always got in the way. That day in the park when we sat together, I knew that someday you
might drop by, with fire or friendship.. (88), is an example of this planning. It can also be said that
Faber and Montag are both lonely. Montag feels ostracized from his wife and the other firefighters,
and has lost Clarisse, admitting to Faber that Nobody listens anymore, (79). Also, when Faber shows
Montag the seashell like invention, he adds that he has been waiting forever to use it, for someone to
help aid in his plan, since there was nothing else in his life that he could do except wait half a lifetime
for someone to speak to me ,

Competitive Advantage Vs. Competitive Strategy
C. Competitive Advantage Related Theory Competitive strategy is the moves and methods that the
firm has taken and is taking to appeal buyers, improve its market position, and to endure competitive
pressures. The strategy is about what a firm s capability to try to knock off competitors and attain
competitive advantage, which can be offensive or defensive. There are three approaches to
competitive strategy, which are low cost leadership strategy where struggling to be the overall low
cost manufacturer in the in industry. Moreover, pursuing to distinguish one s product offering from
competitors (differentiation strategy), and the last one is focus or niche strategy where aiming on thin
portion of the market rather than the whole market (Porter, 1998). There are also some risks for each
strategy. Upholding cost leadership can be risky because of the requirement of frequent capital
investment to sustain cost advantage, then cost surges narrow price differentials and diminish ability
to compete with other s brand royalty. Differentiation strategy has some threats, such as imitation
decreases alleged differentiation, buyers need for differentiation falls. Meanwhile, the risks for focus
or niche strategy are the differences in preferred products or services between the strategic market and
target as a whole narrows, the cost discrepancy between wide ranged competitors and the focused
firms broadens to eradicate the cost advantages of allocating a narrow target or to offset the

Summary Of Speech-Language Pathology
While reading this article, I learned the brain acquires differently among children who are living in the
lower, middle, and upper classes. The cognitive functions, emotional development, and language
growth of individuals will be affected by those living in poverty. For example, a child s temper, anger
management skills, ability to cope, working memory, and reading skills may be affected.
To promote language growth in therapy, I could involve the client and caregiver in determining goals
and expectations for treatment. I could use the techniques and methods to engage the brain and
encourage making connections to subjects the client is interested in. I should use reassuring statements
throughout treatment to positively reinforce the client.
I learned that an important aspect of Speech Language Pathology is providing clients with the ability
to make choices. Individuals want the opportunity to express their feelings, concerns, and activities
they want to take part in. Some individuals with communication ... Show more content on

potentially coincide with linguistic or phonological deficits. Determining the contribution of motor
speech impairment is one of the most difficult tasks in the diagnosis. Symptoms that discriminate CAS

The Push for Cone-Beam Computed Tomography
Dentistry is a field of exactness and the upmost precision. Today, most dentist continue to use the
limited 2D plaster models that only show the teeth and gums from a lateral position showing only the
outside and the inside of the mouth. Plaster models tend to only show the visible, apparent problems
that may be wrong with a patient but cannot effectively showcase the many other possibilities that
may be causing a patient to have malocclusions and misalignments of the jaw. Cone beam computed
tomography shows the roots of the teeth with precision while also displaying the bones in the head so
that any anomaly can easily be noticed and allow for easier work. There have also been specific
studies to determine how each person varies in their nasal passages and how this can cause certain
problems in each case. Overall, Cone Beam Computed Tomography proves to be the best option for
orthodontists to use because it accurately scans the facial structure and teeth allowing for the ultimate
amount of precision by orthodontists when dealing with the amount of space teeth need to be moved
and compare that with the forces particularly required to achieve a satisfactory product. With this
being said, Cone Beam Computed Tomography should be pushed widespread into the field of
Orthodontics so that in cases of great complexity patients with the proper health can be properly
helped with their situations. This technology can successfully bring the accuracy into the field needed

Play in childhood
Play What is play? Play is defined as engaging in activates for enjoyment recreation rather than a
serious practical purpose. Playing is a disorganized voluntary spontaneous activity, which may include
objects, one s body, symbol usage, and relationships. Play is flexible, individualize, grouped,
motivating, self directed, open ended, or self directed. (Smith, 2013) (Saskatchewan Ministry of
Education, 2010) While playing, children are gaining creative skills for creative development, which
enhances the ability of creativity, learning techniques, and academic success. The most important
development is cognitive. This development is vital for school success. Cognitive development

Sensorimotor play, also know as functional play, involves repetitive use of reflexes, such as, swinging,
sliding, or playing on the merry go round This type of play can be observed on playgrounds. Dramatic
play is a type of symbolic play in which a child acts out an individual. When others engage in the
acting, it becomes sociodramatic play. Games with rules allow children to build social skills.
(Playground Professionals LLC, 2013)
Importance of play Why is play important? Erik Erikson third stage of psychosocial development,
initiative versus guilt emerges around 3 6 years of age. During this aggressive stage, children start to
take on life and exploring themselves. If a child has too much guilt in this stage, it can hinder the child
and slow down their social and creativity skills. Parents are to encourage the child, but give guilt as
well to establish their self control and conscience. (McLeod, 2013) Play is essential in child
development, because skills such as language, physical, emotional, social, literacy, creative, and
cognitive are developed. A variety of play, activities, and toys, require different words to describe the
play that is occurring, enhancing language development. Language development is important in
communication, language forms functions, intentional verbal interactions (asking and answering
questions), and playing with language (i.e., rhymes, jokes, riddles).

Analysis Of The Book Joyas Voladoras By Published...
In the book Joyas Voladoras by published editor Brain Doyle, Doyle begins talking about humming
birds. The heart of a humming bird, and its physical aspects. Doyle then elaborates on the title that it
translates to flying jewels, which the first explorers named them. Doyle is talking about life, the center
of all living things life, the heart and the different aspects of the heart. The memory that can be stored
there, the heartbeats, the size and even how a heart can be broken. Doyle presents his ideas differently
but causes the reader to connect emotionally, factually, and fairly personally.
Doyle takes a different approach on this essay for the beginning, he makes a move on the reader.
Doyle provides the reader with the assumption that the short essay will cover hummingbirds. Leading
to the effect of grabbing the attention of different types of readers, ones who are interested in
humming birds or readers who know little and are just curious. Doyle states consider the hummingbird
for a long moment (147). Doyle s presentation of the beginning of his essay now affected specific
readers, it pulled in readers from an animal interest. Providing readers with the assumption that while
reading this essay they should consider the hummingbird, and causes them to imagine a hummingbird
for a moment. This move works in the text because the reader s focus is pin pointed to a specific topic
from the beginning, and from that intro Doyle explains in later sentences facts about the

Have you ever been curious about how animals feel inside living in farms and who are the big bosses
that run everything within the farm? And who has the power? In, Animal Farm, size did not matter in
this case! The animals were convinced to do what the pigs tell them to. The power holders in the book

To begin with, The real power holder was o l Major, the animal that everybody praised, obeyed, and
were grateful for! After, his pass is when the pigs came in power! They were teaching and organizing

Branagh And Hamlet Comparison Essay
Mel Gibson vs. Kenneth Branagh: Hamlet Edition
Hamlet, a story of revenge, madness, uncertainty and death. The fourth act of Shakespeare s play
embarks on the falling action, leaving readers eager to known how the story may conclude. Many film
adaptions of the famous play have been created by director s eager to create their own take on this
tragedy, but the two film versions of act 4 that will be analyzed in this essay are the 1990s Franco
Zeffirelli version starring, Mel Gibson and the 1996 Kenneth Branagh version. Both films are
unarguably well produced productions and both are able to achieve their own unique perceptions of
the play. However, Kenneth Branagh version contributes an abundance of uniqueness that sets his
apart from Zeffierelli s. The thesis for this conclusion is based off an analysis of the casting, editing,

makes all the difference while watching and comparing the two films. Zephirelli used a lot of wide
shots, making use of his atmosphere, the intension probably to make the audience get a true
atmospheric feel for the setting, he also mixes this in with many close up shots. After a while his shots
become repetitive and shows no uniqueness. Branagh experiments with several different shot angles,
from the reflection shots in the mirrors, which suggest that there are eavesdroppers throughout the

conversation helps to build up the intensity and importance of the scene. These are two pf Branagh

Stockholm Syndrome In Child Soldiers
When caught in a life threatening situation, we often feel that we do not have control over the
outcome, when in reality, we do. Phycological research concludes that our brains take over for us

common thinking routes is Stockholm syndrome, a psychological phenomenon that causes those who

Auxin Is Better Than Natural Auxin Analysis
Plant hormones are chemical signals released by a tissue and delivered to a receptor tissue. Auxin is
the hormone most commonly found in plants. Auxin regulates and aids in the development of plants
(Kazan 2013). The acid growth hypothesis states that an acidic ph will enhance the effects of auxin in
seed development and plant growth. Radish seeds were planted in acidic soil and administered natural
and synthetic auxin in order to test for the effect of synthetic auxin in an acidic soil on plant growth.
The reason for this experiment is to test whether or not synthetic (man made) auxin works better than
natural auxin in growth development. It was found that the natural kind of auxin works better in an
acidic environment than synthetic auxin.

After the process of pollination and the development of the embryo stops, a seed is formed. The seed
will remain dormant until it comes in contact with water which causes gibberellins (a type of plant
hormone) to be released which will trigger the layer covering the embryo to produce enzymes needed
to break down the endosperm and release the nutrients that are stored there. Those nutrients will be
used by the embryo for growth. Hormones are chemical substances that help and regulate plant growth
and aid in seed germination (Gutzler and Brewer 2013). There are seven different types of plant
hormones and they all trigger specific reactions. One of the first hormones discovered in plants was
Auxin. Auxin is known to aid in stem elongation and shape direction of growth (Gutzler and Brewer

The Consequences Of The Treaty Of Versailles
In 1919, the Allied victors in World War I met at the Paris Peace Conference to set the peace terms for
the defeated Central Powers. The Allies created the peace terms in the hope to create and maintain
world peace. However, the Allies and Central Powers realized that the peace terms stated in the Treaty
of Versailles did not help to maintain world peace. When the Allies created the Treaty they designed it
in a bad way. Rather than specific, the Treaty didn t make much sense because it was wordy. John
Maynard Keynes an English economist attended the Paris Peace Conference and wrote the book The
Economic Consequences of Peace in which he stated his opinion about the Treaty. In Thornstein
Veblen s review of The Economic Consequences of Peace he argues that Keynes withheld information
about the consequences that the Treaty would cause. If Keynes would not have withheld any
information the economic downfall would not have happened. Keynes failed to include the
consequences of the Treaty in his analysis though, and failed to influence the Allies at the Paris Peace
Conference. In Keynes analysis of the Treaty he did not include the consequence that the Bolshevism
would come to an end. At the Paris Peace Conference the Great Powers only agreed to eliminate the
Bolshevism, other than that the Great Powers could not agree on anything. They knew that it would be
difficult to eliminate the Bolshevism in Soviet Russia, but the Great Powers thought it had to be done

Physician Assisted Suicide For The Terminally Ill Essay
Physician assisted suicide for the terminally ill is one of the most debated policies in America.
Physician assisted suicide (PAS) is only considered a when a patient has a terminal illness and
expresses their right to end their life with a physician. This scenario typically takes place when a
patient is suffering severely from a terminal illness and it is only a matter of time before they will die.
Advocates for PAS have typically had a loved one who is or was suffering through their final stages of
life. Each individual state has specific laws and policies regarding the process of PAS; however, the
requirements for a patient to be considered for PAS are similar (Death with Dignity, n.d.).
Presently, there are currently only five states in which PAS is legally permitted: Oregon, Washington,
California, Vermont, and Montana. In 2016, there are 20 states in which PAS laws could change, so in
order to fully understand the arguments and policies regarding PAS, one must be aware of the key
terms of PAS. The term euthanasia is often used interchangeably with PAS, but they are different.
Euthanasia occurs when a physician administers life ending drugs into a patient, however, PAS occurs
when the patient administers the life ending drugs themselves with a physician s assistance (Death
with Dignity, n.d.).
With the likely increase in states that allow PAS, there are many issues with stakeholders and policies

Efficient Market Theory and Behavioural Finance Essay
The behaviour of markets and investors, the decision making in the market place and the dynamics of
demand and supply in any given market cannot be determined with a hundred percent accuracy.
However master minds in the past have designed various techniques and theories that help investors
make a particular buying decision, or to make choices logically. These theories and techniques help
today s investors to peep into the future and make almost immaculate predictions regarding the future
behaviour of the market and the ongoing trends. A lay man night view the decision making of an
investor as being solely based upon speculation but in reality every move that an investor makes today
in the market place is backed up by sound calculation and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So according to the Efficient Market Theory it is impossible for any investor to beat the market that is
earn more profit or get more return than what the market is actually offering. Therefore the investor
can only earn greater profits on his investment if the investment portfolio includes a high proportion
of risky investments that is those with higher standard deviations and betas but with a good capability
of yielding high returns as well (Stephens, C.R., 2010).
On the other hand behavioural finance defines the market dynamics and movement in terms of
psychology of the participants in the trading process. Behavioural finance proposes that the amount of
information available in the market regarding the factors that determine the output or profitability of a
particular investment actually serve to determine the movement and output of the market itself (Fama,
E.F., 1998).
It is believed that Efficient Market Theory is based upon some fallacies and it does not provide strong
grounds of whatever that it proposes. More importantly the Efficient Market theory is perceived to be
too subjective in its definition and details and because of this it is close to impossible to accommodate
this theory into a meaningful and explicit financial model that can actually assist investors in making
the investment decisions (Andresso O Callaghan, B., 2007).
The basis of Efficient Market theory is considered to have a gap in theory and practice that

Scorpia Rising Essay
Scorpia Rising: A Premier Publication
Writing a book is like creating a recipe that appeals to all, elusive, yet if completed successfully,
capable of leaving all satisfied. In the book, Scorpia Rising, author Anthony Horowitz has created a
savory delicacy that is quite unique. Through his literature, Horowitz has time and time again proven
himself to be one of the best authors to reside in the United Kingdom, and this book is no exception.
As the ninth installment in the Alex Rider series, the book was created thirteen years after the original,
yet it loses none of the same appeal. Over 12 million copies have been sold worldwide, catapulting
Alex Rider to the forefront of fictitious British spies. This book has been well received by critics, ...

The author s representation of these subjects is quite accurate. In the story, the MI6 is portrayed as an
organization that is very clever and is thrifty, not to mention omnipresent within the confines of the
world. In real life, this is what can be expected of an organization with a reputation that precedes it
such as the British Secret Service. The MI6 does not intervene in many matters, but those that it does
intervene in, it manages to extinguish all turmoil and leave behind a exuberant landscape. In
November 2011, the MI6 got involved with a Benghazi terrorist plot, and managed to foil it to the
point where there is no information to this day. It is important to note that very little data exists on the
MI6. What exists, however, is very much represented successfully by Anthony Horowitz in this
mystery. The book also represents the Egyptian nation very well. Egypt as a country is quite rich, and
Alex s school in Egypt is no exception. He meets people from all walks of life, including other British,
Americans, Russians, Chinese and African students. These people are paramount to the plot, as they
are the driving force behind Razim s attack in Egypt.Without the accurate portrayals of these
seemingly insignificant characters, the plot would fail to advance due to the lack of motivation for the
antagonist. If these people were not portrayed correctly, then the whole plot would be devastated.
Therefore, the author successfully represents all subject matter in this book, Scorpia

Wireless Sensor Networks Are Used For Detecting The...
Natural disasters have become very critical due to several reasons like global warming. Wireless
sensor networks are used for detecting the natural events by measuring the temperature, air pressure,
vibration, etc. and generate alarms. WSNs can measure the agitation of buildings, CO2 levels, and
weather monitoring, etc. (Yawut Kilaso, 2011).
WSN that utilized Zigbee/IEEE802.15.4 is utilized as a weather monitoring network. It sends the
information about the weather and generates hazard alarms. Decision tree techniques are used for
analysing the data at sensor site. Weather data is checked with a notification measurement (Yawut
Kilaso, 2011).

The National Conversation In The Wake Of Littleton Is...
The article The National Conversation in the Wake of Littleton is Missing the Mark By Jackson Kats
and Sut Jhally is about finding the cause of violence and relating it to students who dispense harm to
society, as well as other students. There is a focus on masculinity, along with behavior and how that
behavior is being influenced by the environment. The article focuses on factors such as peer exclusion,
the prevalence of violence in the media and most importantly, violence in relation to gender. .
In relation to gender, masculinity plays a crucial role in shaping ego and self esteem. While answering
the question how does violence relate to masculinity? it is important that we examine the pressures of
both societal and cultural norms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This may alter children to act violently in order to keep up with the norms they are being presented by
influential, popular celebrities.
While studying a topic which has a cause and effect relationship to societal norms, we can apply two
major theories to help understand the influences shaping our perceptions and mental processes; the
first being conflict theory. Conflict theory focuses on society as a whole. While trying to find
correlations between violence and masculinity, the role of society has a large influence. It decides
whether or not you meet societal norms and if you do not, you are seen as unequal and less than those
who do. This is demonstrated in the Columbine section of the chapter where Katz and Jhally mention
dominant male athletes did not hide their distance for those who did not fit in. ( gender and sexuality )
This implies to us the shooters most likely acted out by using violence because they were deemed less
than the jocks and a separate social class. In this chapter, there is also a focus on dominance, power
and control. There is a relation to conflict theory in this idea because it acknowledges the desire of
privilege. As many try to increase theirs and be viewed as equal, they may feel the

The Nazis And The Superior Race
It is strange to study one of Europe s darkest periods and wonder how on Earth so many people
believed in the Nazis and the superior race. As much as anyone hates to admit it, Hitler was one heck
of a leader, by amassing millions of followers and being able to keep them. He could have only held
so much power by believing in his cause so much that others could not help but believe it too. Hitler,
Rosenburg, and other Nazi leaders saw the Jews as a separate, inbred, greedy, race who were trying to
dominate the economy and essentially take over the world. Though anti semitism had existed for
many centuries prior to this, it was enflamed like never before by propaganda and publications such as
The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. These racist ideals were codified in the Nuremberg Laws set forth
in 1935. This modern anti semitism was different in both kind and intensity than previously seen in
Europe. Interesting enough, are the influences the different leaders of the Nazi party had on each other
in their ideologies that became the platform for their party. Hitler was the most well known leader of
this cause. Everything Hitler believed was inspired by Karl Lueger, the mayor of Vienna when Hitler
was studying art there. Lueger was the leader of the anti Semitic Christian Social Party in Vienna.
Hitler got his idea for the Final Solution from Lueger s advocacy for the partial extermination of
Austria s Jews. During his time in Vienna, Hitler had a world view with the notion that

  • 2. Similarities And Differences Between Two University Each university is different in it is own way, because in each building there are different nations, faculties, and majors as well as the atmosphere of the university. However, sometimes there are some common features between two universities and that build a similarity between the two. In the education city at Qatar, there are more than six different universities; each university is majoring in a specific major. For example, Texas A M University at Qatar is offering a degree in engineering and Northwestern University at Qatar is offering a degree in communication and journalism. There are similar features between both of the universities, and at the same time, each university is different in a way. The building of Texas A M University at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So simply, one university is majoring in a science field, and the other one is more practical. The difference causes differences in the method of studying in these universities. Each university required a specific method of studying, for instance, studying engineering required understanding math and physics concepts and the ability to solve equations. However, studying communication and journalism required an understanding of the historical and political topics and the ability to read and write fast. As a result, a different type of work needs to be done for each university because they are different. As an illustration, at Northwestern University, the students need to write many reflections and research and read the newspapers to see what is happening the world to major in this field. However, at Texas A M, the students need to study calculus and mechanics and understand the process of how the object is working to be an engineer. In other words, TAMUQ required understanding and hard studying and NUQ required practicing and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Bystander Intervention StepUp is an interactive workshop that talks about how to intervene in situations with problematic behavior either intentional and unintentional. In the workshop, I learned how to assess challenging situations and determine how to safely intercede and still be protected from or not exposed to danger or risk implementing the 3Ds Direct, Distract, and Delegate. I also learned about Bystander Intervention a philosophy and strategy for prevention of various types of violence, including bullying, hazing, harassment, sexual assault, relationship violence, discrimination, binge drinking, and mental health concerns. How these are of great importance was addressed as well why these prevent the pre mentioned harmful situations and how we can use them. Using these techniques direct, delegate and distract to help someone get out of a bad situation made me feel happy to be able to make a difference in someone else s life because of the possible outcomes that could have happened if I did not help. Also, these techniques made me feel safer in a party setting in that if I m aware and actively using it to help others, it is likely that others are doing the same. The Celebrated Jumping Frog Of Calavers County Analysis I have picked The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County by Mark Twain because it s talking about the bet and also because at the end of the discussion forum unit 5, my classmate (Ghobry_Raafat) says: I liked this story so much it has a life lesson that never depends on gambling to fulfill your dream, but hard work. (Ghobry, (2017), p,n). It s the story of a man who was traveling and was supposed to obey to his friend request (who wrote me from the East) by doing a favor for him while he is traveling, to ask about his friend s friend called Leonidas W. Smiley. During his trip, he found Simon Wheeler in the ancient mining camp of Angel s and told him his friend had commissioned him to make some inquiries about a companion named Leonidas W. Smiley. • 5. Oedipus Rex Critical Analysis The ending of Oedipus Rex by Sophocles leaves its viewers imagining themselves in the main character s position, grateful to be without his problems. All over the course of one day, Oedipus learns that he has unintentionally manifested a prophecy which he thought he had previously resolved by killing his father, replacing him as king, and marrying his wife, Oedipus mother. By the end of the day, Oedipus is so distraught after finding out the truth and seeing that Jocasta, his mother, has killed herself, he feels compelled to do something with all his misunderstood, piled up emotions. He takes the gold pins off Jocasta s clothing and uses them to stab out his eyes. Oedipus takes part in this self punishment because he believes that he, not the prophecy, is to blame for his actions, that being blind will make him oblivious again, and because he thinks it will somehow make up for his actions so that he can partially relieve himself of the bottomless guilt he now feels. Rather than blaming the gods and their prophecy, Oedipus places all the guilt upon himself, and for this reason, Oedipus feels he is fully deserving of inflicting pain onto himself in the form of gauging his eyes out. Though deep down he may know that the future was not in his hands, when he pictures the past he sees himself, not the gods, committing the murder, marrying his mother, etc. Because of this disconnect, he can t bring himself to blame the gods, for in the end, he feels that he was the one in ... On the Tesco website they claim that their aim is to become a zero carbon business by 2050. Another sign that they are making forward footsteps to do this was in 2010 when they installed over 500 PowerPerfector units at a cost of about 25m. In writing you, I wanted to discuss my favorite parts of the book, as well as some ideas and real life connections I made while reading it. One of my favorite parts in Lord of the Flies was the ending when the naval officer criticized the boys for exhibiting savage behavior before turning and looking at his own warship. This was one of my favorite parts because while reading it, I thought of the irony of the naval officer s criticism. The civilized naval officer was also part of a savage world which didn t make him that different from the savage boys on the island. My other favorite part was when the frenzied boys mistook Simon for the beast and killed him. This was also one of my favorite parts because of what Simon s death symbolized. I thought about how Simon s death symbolized the loss of civilization on the island and was the catalyst which allowed Jack to take control over the island and let chaos and savagery reign. ... • 15. Social Media And Its Impact On New Media The widespread use of social media and the resulting transition to a system dependent on new media has fundamentally changed the ways in which we communicate. One significant aspect of communication that has been drastically altered is the news media and their presence on social media sites such as Twitter primarily as a result of our changing interactions with and procurement of the news. Over the course of the last semester, I worked as an Assistant Producer for both Unify and Activism Media, which are sister companies. One of the most significant experiences I had during my internship was in my work as a journalist for Activism Media. I was assigned to cover the public s responses to the death of Michael Brown and the subsequent protests following the failure to indict both Darren Wilson and Daniel Pantaleo (also known as the Shut it Down protests). My experiences during this assignment illustrated a number of theoretical concepts in the media studies field chiefly: citizen journalism, agenda setting, and framing. The creation of the printing press and news media significantly altered the world s ability to communicate. Many scholars have argued that with the printing press came a transformation of the public sphere and the public s ability to discuss and identify societal issues. Jürgen Habermas, a German sociologist and philosopher, posits that early modern capitalism created conditions for this bourgeois public sphere to emerge. Numerous conditions permitted ... Throughout times there have been many great leaders and societies or organizations that have risen to power that has attracted the looks of many. During the prohibition it was Al Capone s gang and during the war on drugs it s the Mexican Drug Cartel and their leader Omar Treviño Morales. The two groups follow similar paths, at first glance they have different types of leaders but they have grown to power in similar environments that deal with their enemies in a similar fashion. With every great criminal organization there is always a great leader showing the way. In the black and white picture, a woman sits holding her infant, while resting her head in her right hand, with hopelessness displayed on her face. She has two older children leaning on her, their back facing the camera. Dorothea Lange, the photographer, worked for the federal government. Michael Austin says that she was a mother of seven at age thirty two (568), which is how many families were. There were numerous big families during the beginning of the twentieth century. That caused more struggle for them because there were more mouths to feed. Henry states that the mother was Aged both by weather and misfortune, she is a victim of intense poverty (38). Majority of Americans were like that during the Great Depression. Almost everyone suffered from poverty. This image displayed her level of suffering, which is why it symbolizes the Americans during the Great Depression. James C. Curtis agrees because he states After its publication in 1936, Migrant Mother became a timeless and universal symbol of suffering in the face of adversity (1). However, the symbolism of the picture goes deeper than that. The tent the mother and her children was staying in represents the country. It represents how unstable the country is. Human Perception Of The World Introduction Our perception of the world as individuals is unusually thought of because we are unaware of the physiological and psychological capabilities our brains possess. Through sound, recognition, and vision, animals have inherited these traits for generations. One significant factor pertaining to who we are and how we perceive the world around us are influenced by the genes inherited in our lineage. One particular trait that is important in our lives is color vision and color blindness, particularly cone dysfunction syndrome. Cone dysfunction syndrome is a heterogeneous group of inherited disorders resulting from a mutation of photopigment genes (Simunovic 1998). The red green opsins are the most susceptible for mutation due to the localization of each protein, producing color blindness. The localization of the red and green opsins is near each other and contains ninety eight percent identical in their DNA sequences (Sanders et al 2012). Mutations in these genes are caused by an error during crossover in prophase I of female meiosis. It occurs in female meiosis rather than male meiosis due to the fact that opsin genes are produced by the X linked chromosome which females possess. This states that mothers are the sole carriers of color blindness and it is rare for a female to express color blindness. Dalton s eyes contributed to the understanding of color vision 150 years after his death. His interests on color blindness have paved the way to understand color deficiency in our society. Achromatopsia In Color Vision and Genetics in a Case of Cone Dysfunction Syndrome, Crognale and Neitz ask the question: How drastic are genetic variability s influential to our perception of color vision? To further answer this question, both researchers analyzed cone dysfunction syndrome and how it varies from normal color vision by having a patient in the study with an abnormal case of color vision ranging between achromatopsia to mild green deficiencies. Achromatopsia is the condition in which people perceive the world only of shades of grey while having normal cones in the retina (Snowden 2006). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Costs are not only measured with the effects of the economy in mind, they are measured in how they will affect people and their future. The cost of under regulation can be detrimental to the future of securities. As our nation s securities exchanges mature into global for profit competitors, there is even greater need for sound market regulation. And the common interest of all Americans in a growing economy that produces jobs, improves our standard of living, and protects the value of our savings means that all of the SEC s actions must be taken with an eye toward promoting the capital formation that is necessary to sustain economic growth. (www.sec.gov, n.d.) This statement, part of the SEC introduction, describes the monumental task to regulate and manage investments for everyone. Costs associated with under regulation can be measured in billions of dollars lost over the past decade in businesses such as Enron, Tyco International, WorldCom, and many others. These corporations misused laws and regulations by inflating earnings and bad corporate accounting practices. The cost to investors was in the billions of dollars and led to onset of laws to include Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002, Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, and Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act. Representation Of Women In The Shipman s Tale Both, The Jew of Malta and The Shipman s Tale by Christopher Marlowe and Geoffrey Chaucer, presents women as accessory characters who are at the disposal of the male protagonist. To a medieval reader, the restrictions women experienced when it came to participating in political, economical, and social affairs may have been normal, yet to a contemporary reader, their treatment and participation in literature is essential to understanding the limited role of women as social agents. Moreover, it is important to closely analyze unanswered questions about their obedience or defiance. This is where Beskin and I differ because I believe her father Barabas is never exposed for who is, which is an opportunist. By using his daughter s body in order for her to enter a convent, he was able to get what he desired the most. These materialistic desires include, the gold, the pearls, and jewels...he [had] hid ( Marlowe 16). The reader is able to see that the pleasures of the father were fulfilled. Again the reader must take into account that Barabas happiness revolved around his ability to retain his wealth. To move away from the view that Abigail had the choice to decide whether to be or not be her father s accomplice, the reader must pay attention to the expectations of a daughter. Abigail never actually had the opportunity to decide if she was going to be loyal to her father. Abigail was expected to be obedient to her father. This idea is reaffirmed in Kathryn Martin s article Fathers and Daughters in Renaissance England , which states, [d]aughters are perhaps the greatest victims of a patriarchal family and Elizabethan daughters were no exception...in this male centered society, women were held at a lesser status, and always had to answer to her father. A man had complete control over his family; they were considered his property to do with as he pleased (Martin 1). Even if a woman comes from a wealthy family like the Elizabethan daughters or the rich background of the merchant Barabas, women are subjected to a strictly patriarchal society. Inclusively, Dena Goldberg in her article, Sacrifice in Marlowe s the Jew of Malta informs the reader that Barabas and Abigail s relationship is often times compared to Agamemnon who sacrificed his daughter in the early Trojan War (Goldberg 233). Today, most dentist continue to use the limited 2D plaster models that only show the teeth and gums from a lateral position showing only the outside and the inside of the mouth. Plaster models tend to only show the visible, apparent problems that may be wrong with a patient but cannot effectively showcase the many other possibilities that may be causing a patient to have malocclusions and misalignments of the jaw. Cone beam computed tomography shows the roots of the teeth with precision while also displaying the bones in the head so that any anomaly can easily be noticed and allow for easier work. There have also been specific studies to determine how each person varies in their nasal passages and how this can cause certain problems in each case. Overall, Cone Beam Computed Tomography proves to be the best option for orthodontists to use because it accurately scans the facial structure and teeth allowing for the ultimate amount of precision by orthodontists when dealing with the amount of space teeth need to be moved and compare that with the forces particularly required to achieve a satisfactory product. Auxin regulates and aids in the development of plants (Kazan 2013). The acid growth hypothesis states that an acidic ph will enhance the effects of auxin in seed development and plant growth. Radish seeds were planted in acidic soil and administered natural and synthetic auxin in order to test for the effect of synthetic auxin in an acidic soil on plant growth. • 44. Physician Assisted Suicide For The Terminally Ill Essay Physician assisted suicide for the terminally ill is one of the most debated policies in America. Physician assisted suicide (PAS) is only considered a when a patient has a terminal illness and expresses their right to end their life with a physician. This scenario typically takes place when a patient is suffering severely from a terminal illness and it is only a matter of time before they will die. Advocates for PAS have typically had a loved one who is or was suffering through their final stages of life. Each individual state has specific laws and policies regarding the process of PAS; however, the requirements for a patient to be considered for PAS are similar (Death with Dignity, n.d.). Presently, there are currently only five states in which PAS is legally permitted: Oregon, Washington, California, Vermont, and Montana. In 2016, there are 20 states in which PAS laws could change, so in order to fully understand the arguments and policies regarding PAS, one must be aware of the key terms of PAS. The term euthanasia is often used interchangeably with PAS, but they are different. Euthanasia occurs when a physician administers life ending drugs into a patient, however, PAS occurs when the patient administers the life ending drugs themselves with a physician s assistance (Death with Dignity, n.d.). With the likely increase in states that allow PAS, there are many issues with stakeholders and policies that need to be addressed. There will undoubtedly be ongoing ... • 46. Efficient Market Theory and Behavioural Finance Essay The behaviour of markets and investors, the decision making in the market place and the dynamics of demand and supply in any given market cannot be determined with a hundred percent accuracy. However master minds in the past have designed various techniques and theories that help investors make a particular buying decision, or to make choices logically. These theories and techniques help today s investors to peep into the future and make almost immaculate predictions regarding the future behaviour of the market and the ongoing trends. A lay man night view the decision making of an investor as being solely based upon speculation but in reality every move that an investor makes today in the market place is backed up by sound calculation and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So according to the Efficient Market Theory it is impossible for any investor to beat the market that is earn more profit or get more return than what the market is actually offering. Therefore the investor can only earn greater profits on his investment if the investment portfolio includes a high proportion of risky investments that is those with higher standard deviations and betas but with a good capability of yielding high returns as well (Stephens, C.R., 2010). On the other hand behavioural finance defines the market dynamics and movement in terms of psychology of the participants in the trading process. Behavioural finance proposes that the amount of information available in the market regarding the factors that determine the output or profitability of a particular investment actually serve to determine the movement and output of the market itself (Fama, E.F., 1998). It is believed that Efficient Market Theory is based upon some fallacies and it does not provide strong grounds of whatever that it proposes. More importantly the Efficient Market theory is perceived to be too subjective in its definition and details and because of this it is close to impossible to accommodate this theory into a meaningful and explicit financial model that can actually assist investors in making the investment decisions (Andresso O Callaghan, B., 2007). The basis of Efficient Market theory is considered to have a gap in theory and practice that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the book, Scorpia Rising, author Anthony Horowitz has created a savory delicacy that is quite unique. Through his literature, Horowitz has time and time again proven himself to be one of the best authors to reside in the United Kingdom, and this book is no exception. As the ninth installment in the Alex Rider series, the book was created thirteen years after the original, yet it loses none of the same appeal. Over 12 million copies have been sold worldwide, catapulting Alex Rider to the forefront of fictitious British spies. This book has been well received by critics, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author s representation of these subjects is quite accurate. In the story, the MI6 is portrayed as an organization that is very clever and is thrifty, not to mention omnipresent within the confines of the world. In real life, this is what can be expected of an organization with a reputation that precedes it such as the British Secret Service. The MI6 does not intervene in many matters, but those that it does intervene in, it manages to extinguish all turmoil and leave behind a exuberant landscape. In November 2011, the MI6 got involved with a Benghazi terrorist plot, and managed to foil it to the point where there is no information to this day. It is important to note that very little data exists on the MI6. What exists, however, is very much represented successfully by Anthony Horowitz in this mystery. The book also represents the Egyptian nation very well. Egypt as a country is quite rich, and Alex s school in Egypt is no exception. He meets people from all walks of life, including other British, Americans, Russians, Chinese and African students. These people are paramount to the plot, as they are the driving force behind Razim s attack in Egypt.Without the accurate portrayals of these seemingly insignificant characters, the plot would fail to advance due to the lack of motivation for the antagonist. If these people were not portrayed correctly, then the whole plot would be devastated. Therefore, the author successfully represents all subject matter in this book, Scorpia ... Wireless sensor networks are used for detecting the natural events by measuring the temperature, air pressure, vibration, etc. and generate alarms. WSNs can measure the agitation of buildings, CO2 levels, and weather monitoring, etc. (Yawut Kilaso, 2011). WSN that utilized Zigbee/IEEE802.15.4 is utilized as a weather monitoring network. It sends the information about the weather and generates hazard alarms. Decision tree techniques are used for analysing the data at sensor site. The article focuses on factors such as peer exclusion, the prevalence of violence in the media and most importantly, violence in relation to gender. . This may alter children to act violently in order to keep up with the norms they are being presented by influential, popular celebrities. While studying a topic which has a cause and effect relationship to societal norms, we can apply two major theories to help understand the influences shaping our perceptions and mental processes; the first being conflict theory. Conflict theory focuses on society as a whole. While trying to find correlations between violence and masculinity, the role of society has a large influence. It decides whether or not you meet societal norms and if you do not, you are seen as unequal and less than those who do. This is demonstrated in the Columbine section of the chapter where Katz and Jhally mention dominant male athletes did not hide their distance for those who did not fit in. ( gender and sexuality ) This implies to us the shooters most likely acted out by using violence because they were deemed less than the jocks and a separate social class. In this chapter, there is also a focus on dominance, power and control. There is a relation to conflict theory in this idea because it acknowledges the desire of privilege. • 52. The Nazis And The Superior Race It is strange to study one of Europe s darkest periods and wonder how on Earth so many people believed in the Nazis and the superior race. As much as anyone hates to admit it, Hitler was one heck of a leader, by amassing millions of followers and being able to keep them. He could have only held so much power by believing in his cause so much that others could not help but believe it too. Hitler, Rosenburg, and other Nazi leaders saw the Jews as a separate, inbred, greedy, race who were trying to dominate the economy and essentially take over the world. Though anti semitism had existed for many centuries prior to this, it was enflamed like never before by propaganda and publications such as The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. These racist ideals were codified in the Nuremberg Laws set forth in 1935. This modern anti semitism was different in both kind and intensity than previously seen in Europe. Interesting enough, are the influences the different leaders of the Nazi party had on each other in their ideologies that became the platform for their party. Hitler was the most well known leader of this cause. Everything Hitler believed was inspired by Karl Lueger, the mayor of Vienna when Hitler was studying art there. Lueger was the leader of the anti Semitic Christian Social Party in Vienna. Hitler got his idea for the Final Solution from Lueger s advocacy for the partial extermination of Austria s Jews. During his time in Vienna, Hitler had a world view with the notion that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
