The Goals Of The United Nations
For me to fully understand the goals of the United Nations I had to go back to the very beginning, to
the foundation of the United Nations. The League of Nations was formed in 1920 and lasted until
1946 when it signed over its assets to the United Nations after countries began to leave. Countries
quickly began to leave once they had realized the League could not make settlements where they did
not have the power to do so causing dictators to abuse this power. In 1942, before the League of
Nations failed, Franklin D. Roosevelt first used the term United Nations . FDR saw what had
happened to the United States after it was unable to join the League of Nations after the Senate
excluded it and wanted to make sure something like this would ... Show more content on

This quote sets the foundations for what the UN stands for each and every day. Before doing my
research, I had no idea how many member nations belonged to the UN. Out of the 196 nations around
the world, 193 of them belong to the UN. These member states range in size from small nations such
as Fiji and Norway, to larger nations such as Russia and the United States. Each member of the UN
comprise the main policy making group called the General Assembly. The president of the Assembly
is elected before the opening session each year. The General Assembly s main function is to discuss
things such as budgets of the member states, international peace related topics, allowing new
members, and any suggestions for the UN. Any suggestions for changes to the United Nations requires
a two thirds vote by all the members, while any other decision only requires a majority vote. Although
the General Assembly can make suggestions for any member nation, they are not allowed to force any
decision on to that member nation. The vote made by the General Assembly is considered to be more
of a suggestion for that nation. The Assembly is broken up into six main departments: administrative
and budgetary; disarmament and international security; economic and financial; legal; social, culture,
and humanitarian; and special political and decolonization. The Assembly also has seven commissions
which include the Disarmament Commission and the

Understanding Image and Visual Media Artifact Essay
Critically analyzing of visual media artifact investigates visual culture. An analysis entails image
interpretation of image equally applicable to genres of photographs as form of advertisement. In this
paper, I will critically examine photographs. According to Barrett (2011) he suggested that critic starts
with description that involves developing a list of facts concerning the subject matter within the
image. Description is a data gathering process of photograph (p. 17). It s also establishing a typology
of the photograph s content matter. Similarly Bathes (1977) suggest that all images are polysemous (p.
38) because of the subject matter, hence creation of complexity for visual reader in making decision

This represented the children that lived in close proximity to Cape Canaveral and NASA S launc

Wunderkammer artifact speaks only of United States early space program. The 8 x10 black and white
glossy photographs have a unique characteristic in that they are the originals taken by NASA and U.S.
air force photographers. These artifacts move specific image from ordinary and become extraordinary
from other American boys and girls who lived far from the rural Atlantic coast of east central Florida.
Other artifacts in this particular image are not directly related to the space program, but were objects
collected during this timeframe and represent childhood mementos, such as the display case of pop
culture trinkets known as Rat Finks, often traded among boys playing on the school yard or during our
bus ride to and from school. In above description of photographic content comply to the process of
data gathering process which Barrett (2011) suggest for all visual critiques and analyses.
Interpretation
The interpretation of the photographs communicates to the viewer or the reader on the elements,
brought out in their own set of ideological assumption and experiences in the base of personal
experiences. The images are in the form of visual auto ethnography that dialectic the levels of
signification or connotation, (Ownby, 2011a, p. 138).

The Forms Of Birth Control In The 19th Century
For thousands of years forms of birth control have been around. People have fought for hundreds of
years to make birth control available to all women. Birth control was banned at point in the United
Sates. According to the authors at Wikipedia.org, Contraception was not restricted by the law in the
United States throughout most of the 19th century, but in the 1870s a social purity movement grew in
strength, aimed at outlawing vice in general, and prostitution and obscenity in particular. Composed
primarily of Protestant moral reformers and middle class women, the Victorian era campaign also
attacked contraception, which was viewed as an immoral practice that promoted prostitution and
venereal disease. The earliest forms of birth control was reported around 3000 B.C. Condoms were
made from fish bladders, linen sheaths, and even animal intestines. In the 1500 s, the first spermicides,
chemicals that kill sperm, were used to kill spermatozoa. The first condoms were made from linen
cloth sheaths and soaked in chemical solution and dried before using. In 1838, condoms and
diaphragms were made from vulcanized rubber. A diaphragm is a shallow, bendable cup that you put
inside your vagina. It covers your cervix during sex to prevent pregnancy. In 1873, the Comstock Act
passed in the United States prohibiting advertisements, information, and distribution of birth control
and allowing the postal service to confiscate birth control sold through the mail. In 1916, Margaret

The Beauty Myth Naomi Wolf Summary
Kaleidoscope of Beauty In our world today, society and the dictionary have a different opinion on
what constitutes beauty. The dictionary defines beauty as the qualities in a person or a thing that give
pleasure to the senses or the mind ( Beauty ). Society has a more cruel definition of beauty. It puts
pressure on women who want to appear beautiful to everyone but themselves. Naomi Wolf, author of
The Beauty Myth, wrote, Many are ashamed to admit that such trivial concerns to do with physical
appearance, bodies, faces, hair, clothes matter so much (486). So instead of accepting the fact that
everybody has flaws, nowadays women will spend unbelievable amounts of money to try to rid
themselves of these flaws just to feel beautiful. The biggest perpetrators social ... Show more content

These images make little girls and women believe that if they don t look a certain way they need to
change everything about themselves until they look exactly like those models and celebrities. Society
today refuses to accept people who accept their flaws instead of telling the population that flaws make
a person essentially unique and different. The concept of beauty revolves around three main ideas:
Physical appearance, aging, and losing control of themselves. In The Beauty Myth, Wolf explains
Contemporary standards of feminine beauty have devolved to a point that can only be described as
anorexic, and America s young women are paying the price through a near epidemic of bulimia and
anorexia (486). Girls today do not feel comfortable in their own skin and try so hard to become
somebody else. She says, The beauty myth tells a story: the quality called beauty objectively and
universally exists. Women must want to embody it and men must want to possess women who
embody it (Wolf 488). Women should want to feel beautiful, but not for herself, but for the approval
from the male population. In this essay it talks about how women must also compete with other

The Structure within the Battle of Windhover Essay
The Structure within the Battle of Windhover
The images throughout the Windhover recognize the battle Jesus Christ fought while He walked the
earth. The battle involved Jesus fighting for humankind s eternal salvation and the establishment of
the kingdom of God on earth. Gerard Manley Hopkins, author of the poem, reinforces this imagery of
the battle along with undercutting the imagery to add more confusion and mystery to this already
complex poem. Through stressed words at the beginning of the line, highlighting a particular
significance with two and even three continuous stresses, to containing seven stresses in one line,
Hopkins bluntly emphasizes pivotal words and lines in the poem, Hopkins stresses and depreciates ...

What God initially designed as pure and righteous became senseless and corrupted because of
humankind s weak free will to choose good over evil. In a like manner, Hopkins began the poem with
an innocent looking five syllable line with a normal iambic baseline. In addition, humankind s original
sinfulness profoundly hurt God as well as shattering all the trust humans and God had together.
Similarily, Hopkins first presents a regular five stressed line only to see it turn confusing and wicked
(to the readers at least). The original sin committed by humans caused Christ to incarnate into a divine
human; therefore, launching the beginning of the battle that Jesus fought.
The second stanza starts with two highly emphasized, seven syllable lines reinforcing the image of the
ascension. Just as accentuation was placed on creation and the incarnation, Hopkins places
significance on the transformation of Jesus back to His divine Godly State from His divine human
form. After Jesus died on the Cross and rose again to a new life three days later, He appeared to His
Apostles over a forty day period. Jesus then ascended to heaven and entrusted the war on earth to His
Apostles on the day called Pentecost. In the fourth stanza, the two accented words in a row thee then
represent Jesus placing the war to build the kingdom in their hands. The word thee symbolizes the
Apostles and then marks the actual action of Jesus

Communication In Autistic Children
The definition as well as the symptoms of autism have been mentioned in the previous part of the
research proposal. Symptoms of autism will usually start showing when a child is around 18months
(Hourigan Hourigan, 2009:40). The main problem concerning autism that this literature study will
focus on is the delay and defect with regards to communication in the autistic child with specific
reference to the classroom situation.
Extensive studies have been done on the autistic spectrum disorder. These children will be introverted
and usually live their lives in an isolated world. They struggle with many different aspects of everyday
life which causes them to retreat into their comfort zone of seclusion. Educators and teachers should
strive to understand this comfort zone in order to be able to relate and communicate effectively with
these children. Autistic children struggle to relate with one another, communications are extremely
difficult. Different strategies should be implemented to encourage and help autistic learners to
communicate more effectively with one another and with their teachers to facilitate teaching and
learning in the classroom. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

when compared to the average healthy child. Armstrong (2010) further states that music also seems to
have an effect on the ability of people with autism to memorise nonvisual material . Clearly, autistic
children have a strong affinity towards music. The fact that children with autism display special
interest and ability in music has led to the question whether music can t play a role in the

Descriptive Essay On Going Down Hills
The sun was playing hide and seek with the moon, the moon was seeking. The trees standing
motionless with their fingertips covered in baking sugar. As my eyes broke the horizon of the hill I felt
something hit my feet, it was my stomach. Looking down the hill for 20 minutes I came to a
conclusion, I m screwed. As we sat there, the three of us, with our eyes crawling over the hill to look
down it once more, we got up. One by one. It was the first year my cousins and I had decided to go
snowboarding. Most of the guys had no real experience going down hills while glued to a frictionless
two by four. I was proud of the experience I had, a whole one inch of it. Going on a small practice
runway just to get the feel of riding before going up was what we all started off on. My butt had
became a close friend with the rock hard ground from all those unexpected meetings when the body
wouldn t feel like going the same direction as the board. Feeling confident from making a new friend
and wanting to go up some actual hills, we left the rest of the guys behind. I was one of the ones that
felt like we were ready for some new friend making grounds. Making our way to the line to get onto
the chair lift we all laughed as we knew that we were about to get hit with some reality. As the line
slowly evaporated in front of me, I could hear the screeching sound of the cables getting louder.
Simply just walking up the the lift and sitting down wasn t an option. I had to push off with one foot

My Personal Statement On My Interview Essay
The person I used to conduct my interview was my step mom, Chris Howell. We are very close to one
another, and she has been with my dad since I was 4. I would consider her my mom not my step mom.
Since she lives 4 hours away, I was unable to meet with her in person for the interview so a phone call
was necessary. She s a very outgoing person, who is great at making conversation and telling stories.
Even though it would have been more ideal to meet in person to conduct the interview, the phone call
still felt natural and helpful. A few times over the course of the interview it was hard to hear what she
had said. I did not want to interrupt her, so I missed a few details. Overall, it went very well, and it
lasted the perfect amount of time. Since I am her daughter and already know key characteristics about
her life, she felt comfortable sharing with me. Even when talking about her ex husband, she did not
hold back. To begin, Christine Howell was born January 12th 1958 in Williamsport, PA. The
Susquehanna River flows through Williamsport, and Williamsport is a very manufacturing and
industry based place. It was the lumbering capital of world in the 1800s. As a result, there are a lot of
beautiful homes of all styles. She grew up in a beautiful 6 bedroom Victorian home that had 10 feet
ceilings, a huge staircase, and pocket doors. She is the 2nd oldest with 4 sisters and 1 brother. She

airlines. Another strength of the company has a strong brand which means it s widely recognised.
Ryanair established in the European market share. The current market cap in millions is £17,729.86

issues with current employment model applied by Ryanair. Statistics shown that the average length of
service for pilots is about 4.6 years and average of 386 pilots leave Ryanair each year since 2012. This
is caused by precarious nature of their employment relationship including disrespect towards pilots
and cabin crew, failure of giving scheduled time off and working over contracted hours. In this case
precarious work condition means that many Ryanair pilots don t have fixed permanent contract. Pilots
are grouped into Irish agency companies which have between 5 and 8 pilot directors, those agency
companies then subcontract into a UK labour provider of pilots and then that UK provider provides
the pilot labour into Ryanair. This causing a big distance between Ryanair and the

Port Security Planning
Port Security Planning
What are the components that contribute to port security planning, why are they important, and what
aspects of security planning are considered in port facility operations?
Surveillance cameras: These are special video cameras fitted at designated points of the port. They
capture at least most of the actions carried out within the premises of the port. These cameras are
normally positioned in areas that are out of bounds or inaccessible to individuals. Such a component is
important in a port as it monitors and records movements of goods and people in and out of the port.
In the event of illegal actions, those individuals captured by the camera are easily brought to book. In
addition, the presence of these cameras serves as a deterrent to people who may be planning to carry
out illegal activities at the port.
Space for expansion: this factor component falls under the designing and architectural stages. It is
important to understand that maritime is one of the most dynamic sectors of transport. The last two
decades have seen unprecedented growth in maritime activities with large cargo and cruise ships being
developed. This implies that the amount of goods or the number of passengers that a port handles have
been on a gradual rise over these years. Consequently, the architectural designs are tailored to meet
such requirements. New and redesigned facilities will require effective security provisions such as
secure buffer zones, closed circuit

Westward Expansion In The West
The influence of the westward expansion in the West is still evident today. Influences such as land,
and the individualist mindset remain the same today. Also, a lot of ways the frontier land today is
isolated compared to the West we live in today, too. The frontier emphasized the spirit of nationalism
and individualism in the United States.
As mentioned amongst the themes of the West, the frontier experience converted settlers into
individualists, who hoped to gain opportunity in the lands of the West. The ample amount of resources
and the greater social mobility of frontier areas instilled a form of individualism in American
frontiersman. This is similar to the individualism present today, for instance in politics and other
government affairs, people dislike of governmental interference in their affairs, similar to the people
that had migrated to the West so they could be more independent and have less governmental
interference. Migrating somewhere new becomes an unfamiliar environment, as travelers adapted and
devised new techniques and objects to cope with an unknown land. This can also be seen now in
Americans being able to adapt to innovations and keep innovations and ideas of the Western front. In
many rural areas, the concept of land and ranches, how to care for them, and the small settlement is
still evident today, especially in the state we live in.
Although the history of the American frontier is glorified for the vanquishing of Indian and the march
of manifest destiny that made America great and special, this is still evident today in society. For
instance, in media today, the Dakota Pipelines were on Native American tribal land, yet we as
Americans used the power of authority to make them leave their land for the supposed greater benefit
of America. That was the notion in the past, and still is the notion today, Native Americans were not
considered Americans, although the inhabited areas and lands way before we had. The representation
of the West showcased triumph of civilization over savagery. Also, back in the 19th century, scholarly
essays were written that stated moving west separated Americans from their European roots, those
who were from there. This is evident today as well,

Ran hui et al. (2016) explains that the patient made complaints about myalgia, dyspnea, dry cough as

examination that was done at the time of admission. Some of the vital signs that the patient appears
included an extremely high pressure, which was measured to be about 135/72mmHg; a peak body
temperature that was measured to be 38.60C (Hamzah, Jaffar, and Ziad, 2016). At the same time, the

pneumonic infiltrations that were located in the middle and upper lobes and also in the left lower lobe
that were taken on the chest radiography. According to Hamzah, Jaffar, and Ziad (2016), the doctors
treated the patient by administering 180 μg of pegylated interferon alpha on hospital day (HOD) 1 and
1,800 mg of ribavirin (600 mg every 8 hours) daily from HOD 3 to HOD 7. This process also led to a
discontinuation of anti viral treatments because of thrombocytopenia (lowest platelet count was

managing the conditions that the patient was suffering from, the doctors placed him on a mechanical
ventilator on HOD 4. This was also followed by the increased multiple pneumonia infiltrations that
were always identified. To stabilize the patient further, the doctors decided to undertake a

Why Is Kate Chopin Banned
Kate Chopin, being a woman in the nineteenth century, not only wrote a book, but wrote one about a

Edna returns to Grand Isle, where her awareness about her independence and sexuality came to be, to
then find herself embracing the sea s water while remembering about her freedom from her children

Because of Edna s heightened sexuality, desire for independence, and awakenings ,
The
Awakening created a series of controversy leading to the book being censored (Overview). Edna,
defying race, sex, and class, inspired women across the world to pursue their own sexuality and
independence (
Elfenbein).
In the end, the theme of solitude as the consequence of independence arises because of the fact that the
main character, Edna Pontellier, senses a feeling of solitude after becoming independent that led to her
suicide (SparkNotes). Along with the theme of solitude as the consequence of independence, the
theme of the implications of self
expression also becomes present through the different ways Edna
expresses herself (SparkNotes). Edna s expressions included: art, language, music, and love in which
were all contributing factors to Edna s desire for independence and sexual desire (SparkNotes).

Compare And Contrast Paracetamol And Aspirin
Compare and contrast the mechanism of action and therapeutic uses of aspirin and paracetamol
Aspirin, also known as acetylsalicylic acid, was among the earliest drugs to be synthesized and is still
commonly used worldwide today. Aspirin is useful as an anti pyretic, anti platelet, analgesic, as well
as, anti inflammatory drugs. Its main clinical importance now is in the treatment of cardiovascular
disease. It can be orally administered and is rapidly absorbed as the liver metabolizes 75%, but can t
be given to human beings under the age of 16. The elimination of aspirins metabolite, salicylate,

By inhibiting the COX enzyme it controls pain by controlling the signals before they reach the brain.
The analgesic mechanism of paracetamol has been suggested that the metabolites of paracetamol such
as NAPQI, which act on TRPA1 receptors in the spinal cord, suppress the signal transduction from the
superficial layers of the dorsal horn, therefore alleviating pain.
The exact mechanisms by which COX is inhibited in various circumstances are still being discussed
and this is because of the differences in activity of aspirin, paracetamol and other NSAIDs. With these
differences it has been proposed that further COX enzymes may exist. A theory of how paracetamol
may work is by the inhibition of the COX 3 isoform (a COX 1 splice variant). COX 3 has been
expressed in dogs and it shows that this enzyme shares similarities to other COX enzymes, while
producing pro inflammatory chemicals and is selectively inhibited by paracetamol. But research has

odds going against them. From 1770 1900 their population had diminished from 300 K 10K, creating
a genocide many still argue about today. California did become the most diverse location in the world,
but it had a great cost to it, the assassination of a vital culture that almost led to their extinction.

The Eruption Of A Volcanic Eruption
INTRODUCTION: THE EXPERIMENT
A volcanic eruption is one of the greatest forces of nature, they can kill, maim and obliterate. Volcanic
eruptions are too dangerous for us to come close to them and scientists are trying their best to interpret
volcanoes and see them in action so that one day every volcanic eruption can be avoided. Although we
are not scientist we can still see a volcanic eruption ourselves using chemicals, we can witness as the
chemical reacts to each other behaving like lava cascading out of a volcano.
! CAUTION: Chemical reactions can be harmful, in this experiment be careful when using hydrogen
peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is a kind of detergent and bleach, which can bleach your hair or clothes
if applied to.
Materials
Tray
Clay
Chemicals Hydrogen Peroxide, vinegar
Yeast

The Pleas of Palestinians Essay
The Pleas of Palestinians
Freedom, a common concept that is taken for granted by most people living in developed countries.
However, the idea of freedom is still wanted in developing countries and non recognized countries,
such as Palestine. Palestinians have always lived in the current country of Israel; however, they were
never able to obtain the land of their ancestors, therefore many different Palestinian groups from the
Palestinian Liberation Organization, an observer in the United Nations, to Hamas, a multi country
terrorist cell, have all been involved in helping free Palestine. The desire for a free Palestine has been
centuries overdue. Although Israel has a bigger international prominence than Palestine: should be

According to Jeanne Kuebler, a journalist for CQ Researcher states, The first World Zionist Congress,

for the Jewish people (Kuebler). Prior to the Congress, Jewish people fled their former homeland of
Palestine for various reasons. Following the Return movement and World War II, support for this
resurgence would be recognized by various countries. Great Britain colonized Palestine, to push forth
the plans of the Balfour Treaty, which insisted that Palestine would be a nation for Jewish people.
Since the declaration was made, a mass emigration to Palestine was immediate. Although there was a
cap of 75,000 Jewish immigrants, others found ways around the system finding ways to Palestine
leading to a higher number of immigrants in Palestine than the maximum allowed by Great Britain. As
Palestinians demanded their own dependence from the Jewish nation, Great Britain was unable to
create this which led to a series of terrorist attack against the Jewish residents. Great Britain sought the
help of the Leagues of Nations, which suggested a split into two nations (Brewer).
However, Great Britain was unwilling to fix the problem, so when the British government left
Palestine, the Jewish citizens declared themselves as a new nation known as Israel. However the day

Hamlet Tragedy Analysis
Hamlet, despite being an introspective look at grief as well as a cautionary tale of the human
condition, is first and foremost a tragedy. The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, by William
Shakespeare, is a play written in the early 17th century that follows the Senecan formula: a
playwriting method originating in Rome which accentuates points of revenge, honor, the supernatural,
suicide, and blood. This formula is evident throughout the play but is fully realized in the character of
Hamlet. He is a tragic hero, bound to revenge, goaded by the ghost of his father, who with each
decision moves closer to his inevitable death. Hamlet has many observable traits. He is intelligent,
emotional, temperamental, and bold but his tragic flaw is that of overthinking. Though Hamlet is
driven by instinct to right the wrong done to his father, he does not act as such. He carefully calculates
all of his advances against his antagonists and spends a considerable amount of time explaining to the
audience what complications certain issues present. O all you host of heaven! O earth! What else? And
shall I couple hell? Oh, fie! Hold, hold, my heart, And you, my sinews, grow not instant old, But bear
me stiffly up. Remember thee! Ay, thou poor ghost, whiles memory holds a seat In this distracted
globe. Remember thee! Yea, from the table of my memory I ll wipe away all trivial fond records, All
saws of books, all forms, all pressures past That youth and observation copied there, And thy
commandment all alone shall live Within the book and volume of my brain, Unmixed with baser
matter. Yes, by heaven! O most pernicious woman! O villain, villain, smiling, damnèd villain! My
tables! Meet it is I set it down That one may smile, and smile, and be a villain. At least I m sure it may
be so in Denmark. (writes) So, uncle, there you are. Now to my word. It is Adieu, adieu. Remember
me. I have sworn t. (I.v.94 1130) In Hamlet s long soliloquy he belabors the idea of fate and its
unfairness. After stewing over his villainous uncle and mother, he finally commits himself to
vengeance by the ghost s suggestion. This action in particular is the one that sets him on the path to his
death. Hamlet s tendency to overthink can most notably be

Difference Between Reasonable Suspicion And Probable Cause
Chapter 5 1. Answer the Chapter Review Questions 1, 5, 7, 10 and 11. 1. Compare and contrast
reasonable suspicion and probable cause. Reasonable suspicion is a reasonable likelihood that a crime
has been, is being, or will be committed. It is a reasonable belief based on facts or circumstances and
is informed by a police officer s training and experience. Reasonable suspicion is seen as more than a
guess or hunch but is less than probable cause. Probable cause is the logical belief, supported by facts
and circumstances, which a crime has been, is being, or will be committed. The difference between the
two are the fact that probable cause has evidence or is fact based whereas reasonable suspicion is a
hunch. 5. Compare and contrast the Aguilar Spinelli test with the totality of circumstances test in
Illinois v. Gates. The Aguilar Spinelli test states that a magistrate must be informed of the reasons to
support the conclusion that such an informant is reliable and credible. The magistrate must be
informed of some of the underlying circumstances relied on by the person providing the information
which also went by the name of the two prong test. The totality of circumstances cancelled out the two
prong test with the rules suggests that there is no single deciding factor, that one must consider all the
facts, the context, and conclude from the whole picture whether there is probable cause, or whether an

because i really don t think what i do before i do it, such as when im outside and I m riding my bike

The peer review process was critical towards the improvement of my work. For the first artifact,
which was the standard essay, I drafted the essay and received feedback on my thesis via email from
my professor Dr. Addcox as well as my roommate. The changes suggested to me clarified my paper
and strengthened my argument. It was in my second artifact however that I realized the importance of
getting an outside opinion on my work. For this assignment I had to create a new storyline for a video
game we played in class. The storyline we created had to be a branching narrative and under the
pressure of developing my own storyline my storyline was not a proper branching narrative. After
developing my first draft, I had a collaborative conference with my professor (Dr. Addcox), where I
received feedback which helped me incorporate a branching narrative structure into my idea. I then
had a comprehensive peer review session with a classmate, which allowed me to refine my storyline
and improve upon details.
The first two artifacts that were individually completed taught me how to work with discipline over a
period of time, something that I had not often done in high school. For the first assignment a blog post
based on a short reading had to be converted into a polished essay. While this seemed like a simple
task, I had to re read the short story to develop a purposeful thesis and had to add

The Great Artists Of The Conceptual Art Movement
When one thinks of Art the most popular image is of great works, famous for their visually pleasing
and intellectually rousing qualities. These works, aside from being visually and intellectually
stimulating, have been used to challenge and encourage an audience to think about what it s
representing in flexible and open minded ways, this is usually done by shocking the audience out of
their complacency when viewing artworks. The great artists of the Conceptual Art movement
especially emphasised this by focusing more on the concept behind a piece than the art itself. Three
particular artists that are famous for challenging audiences with their work include Marcel Duchamp
(1887 1968), Jenny Holzer (1950 present) and Ai WeiWei (1957 present). Even though these three
artists are part of different times, countries, political and cultural movements, they all use their works
to confront and challenge every part of their audience including critics, the media and the general
public.
Marcel Duchamp is widely considered as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, his
early works saw him in the Post Impressionist movement however his want for art to be in the service
of the mind saw his move away from that style of art. He was a French, sculptor, painter and writer
whose work is associated Dada and with being the precursor to conceptual art. Duchamp spent nearly
his whole art career challenging his audiences to think about what art really is. His critical

usually electric current, hydraulic fluid pressure, or pneumatic pressure, and translates that energy into
motion. The use of robotics for microwaves impacts the society in domestic situations. The robot
fulfils its intended purpose, which is to assist operators with their household requirements. The
automated system saves time and increases productivity as it follows a series of instructions given by
the constructor. The buttons on the membrane keyboard allows operators to modify and alter their
requirements, which can be made for easier use. The intelligence of this robotics technology leads to a
major impact on society. There are over billions of microwaves in the shops today, which are typically
used to assist people with their everyday life. When people want to warm foods, they do it through the
use of this robot technology. A microwave heats food by passing radiation through it specifically
known as microwave radiation. Microwaves can be known as a form of non ionizing electromagnetic
radiation that have a frequency higher than ordinary radio waves but the frequency is lower than
infrared light. Microwaves use radio waves at an exact set frequency to stir water molecules

The Number Three In Dante s Inferno
Symbolism can be utilized in diverse manners but remains a prominent aspect of life within most
religions throughout the world. Out of ample differential symbolic numbers, Dante showcases the
number three throughout the allegorical tale of his journey through hell. Dante bases Inferno upon the
Christian idea of hell by using the religiously symbolic number three within his choice of poetic
structure, the monsters displayed, and the associations of the number three in the Bible.
Dante s poetic masterpiece The Divine Comedy is composed of three individual cántica: Inferno,
Purgatorio, and Paradiso. The three works include 33 cantos in each poem, with the exception of
Inferno, totaling 100 cantos, which is the square of 10; 10 is the perfect number, for it is composed
solely of the square of the Trinity plus 1, which represents the Unity of God. (McAllister xxii). The

Three beasts face against Dante within the beginning of the narrative poem: The Leopard, The Lion,

encounters the three main kinds of sin committed within the Christian world: Incontinence, violence
and fraud. Each sin corresponds according to a sin in the Bible and matches with each of the three
beasts. Once Dante follows away from the three monsters and towards a pathway through hell, he
encounters a ravenous three headed dog of Hell who characterizes as monstrous Cerebus, the ravening
beast (Alighieri 44 45). Dante s usage of the number three within his choice of monsters furthermore
portrays the reoccurring usage of the number in Inferno. In addition, Dante encounters Satan whom
has three faces, each of different color. Each monster encountered by Dante within the narrative poem
Inferno symbolically displays the number three which moreover connects the number to the Christian

Outliers Reflection
After reading the chapter in the book Outliers, The Story of Success, I believe that Gladwell did a
great job explaining how different cultures can cause an impact our to the society and the individuals.
Although I love working in a work place that embraces diversity and is accepting of all kinds of
people, this may lead to some challenges due to the differences that we pertain. For example, every
coworker I work with is unique in his or her own way; we were all raised differently and were born
into other communities. Furthermore, this enabled us all have different ways of doing things or
handling situations. One thing that I was taught to do a certain way may bother a coworker of mine if
they do it differently and vise versa which could lead to those challenges. A talent that someone may
be superior at, may be extremely difficult for somebody else. In the end, everyone has their own

In most non English speaking European nations tobacco use is almost considered a national pastime.
In countries like France and Italy smokers are a majority of the population in general, so the metal
fans do not really stand apart from the cultural norm. In Asian countries smoking is more socially
acceptable than in English speaking countries, but there is a slightly higher rate of smokers who are
metal fans over smokers in the general population. The surveys that have been done in Asian countries
point to a higher rate of hero worship and idolization; being that many heavy metal musicians smoke
and are heroes to their fans this hypothesis makes a lot of sense. Most cultures also have a manner of
dress that is recognizable (although this is becoming rare due to the current globalization trend... with

The Minds Of Humans Are Imperfect
The minds of humans are imperfect. It is for this reason that it is often easy to mistake fantasies and
reality. Fantasies can be described as wishful thinking, as imagining something perfect and they may
or may not have their roots based on reality. Therefore, reality is what we can deduce from the fives
senses and experience. In Don Quixote, by Miguel de Cervantes, many different kinds of women are
encountered throughout the adventures of Don Quixote. There are poor peasants, rich vassals,
prostitutes, and even shepherdess. Women in this novel seem to fall under either women of fantasy or
as a women of reality. There is a stark difference between the two groups of women, but sometimes
they are so sublime that they may even jump between women of fantasy and those of reality. Dorotea,
the rich peasant and wife of the nobleman Don Fernando, and Luscinda, a very wealthy women and
wife to Cardenio, would fall explicitly into the category of sublime women which can transcend from
reality to fantasy and work their way between either realm. Dulcinea and Aldonza Lorenza fall into
categories the very contrasting categories of fantasy and reality, respectively. Therefore, Luscinda,
Dorotea, and Dulcinea serve as the fantastical ideals that men desire women to be, but truth of the
matter is that most women of the time were what Aldonza Lorenzo was a women of reality.
As far as the most ordinary woman of the three fantastical women of part I, Luscinda is the one that
most fits that

specifications) in her stock conspiracy trial (with the exception of the security fraud charge which was
thrown out), I will assume that she is guilty. (courttv.com) Based on that assumption, there are several
reasons that Martha Stewart did not handle her indictment responsibly which can be ... Show more

The prosecution attempted to prove that the ink used to make that annotation was not the same at the
ink used on other parts of the paper. The prosecution s witness in this portion of the case was a Secret
Service agent who was later charged with perjury for repeatedly lying on the stand (courttv.com).
Also, in later questioning the witness admitted that it was impossible to determine how many different
blue pens were used on the worksheet. At any rate, the prearranged price as set by Stewart might have
seemed a little too convenient to some. The question here continues to deal with duty and the greater
good. If Stewart and Bacanovic did not have this prior arrangement set up, then it was Bacanovic s
duty to Merrill Lynch and to the investors to uphold the responsibilities of his position. Again, this
situation deals with the greater good of the investors as a whole, not just Martha Stewart as an
individual, and therein lies the purpose behind the rules in place. Aside from lying about her decisions,
Stewart also attempted to hamper the investigation by providing false information. Stewart attempted
to alter the contents of the phone message from Bacanovic s 27 December 2001 phone call. This is a
fact that was verified by Stewart s assistant. Altering evidence is generally reserved for the purpose of
making a situation look better than it is. The fact that Stewart attempted to change

Like Water For Chocolate Feminism Essay
Feminism can be defined as the belief that women and men should have equal rights and
opportunities.
I think Like Water For Chocolate is a feminist novel because the two main characters in the novel
exhibit characteristics that represent what a feminist is. Feminism is the belief that women and men
should have equal rights and opportunities. Tita and Gertrudis show through their behavior, actions,
and language that they believe that women should be able to live a life with the same rights and
opportunities as men.
The first reason Tita supports my belief that Like Water For Chocolate is a feminist novel is that she
demonstrated her feminism by rejecting conforms to social norms for female behavior and choosing
instead her equal right to fully love Pedro by having an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This quote explains that Gertrudis earned her commission of general by working brutally hard by
fighting in many battles in the Mexican revolution. This is usually the pattern men adopt to gain the
rank they want in a war.
Leadership was in her blood and once she joined the army, she began a rapid ascent through powerful
positions until she arrived at top; ... (9, p179). We learn in this quote that Gertrudis acts like a feminist
because she availed herself of the same rights and opportunities that men take to rise to the top of their
profession. She was not afraid to show she was a leader and she was not afraid to take opportunities
that came along to show her abilities and be promoted up the military ranks to general.
In conclusion, we see that two main and powerful characters in Like Water For Chocolate, Tita and
Gertrudis, exemplify and demonstrate the traits that feminists have the ability and fearlessness to take
advantage of the same rights and opportunities that men take advantage of. These two characters
support my belief that Like Water For Chocolate is a feminist

The League of Nations was formed in 1920 and lasted until 1946 when it signed over its assets to the United Nations after countries began to leave. Countries quickly began to leave once they had realized the League could not make settlements where they did not have the power to do so causing dictators to abuse this power. In 1942, before the League of Nations failed, Franklin D. Roosevelt first used the term United Nations . FDR saw what had happened to the United States after it was unable to join the League of Nations after the Senate excluded it and wanted to make sure something like this would ... Before doing my research, I had no idea how many member nations belonged to the UN. Out of the 196 nations around the world, 193 of them belong to the UN. These member states range in size from small nations such as Fiji and Norway, to larger nations such as Russia and the United States. Each member of the UN comprise the main policy making group called the General Assembly. The president of the Assembly is elected before the opening session each year. The General Assembly s main function is to discuss things such as budgets of the member states, international peace related topics, allowing new members, and any suggestions for the UN. Any suggestions for changes to the United Nations requires a two thirds vote by all the members, while any other decision only requires a majority vote. Although the General Assembly can make suggestions for any member nation, they are not allowed to force any decision on to that member nation. The vote made by the General Assembly is considered to be more of a suggestion for that nation. The Assembly is broken up into six main departments: administrative and budgetary; disarmament and international security; economic and financial; legal; social, culture, and humanitarian; and special political and decolonization. An analysis entails image interpretation of image equally applicable to genres of photographs as form of advertisement. In this paper, I will critically examine photographs. People have fought for hundreds of years to make birth control available to all women. Birth control was banned at point in the United Sates. According to the authors at Wikipedia.org, Contraception was not restricted by the law in the United States throughout most of the 19th century, but in the 1870s a social purity movement grew in strength, aimed at outlawing vice in general, and prostitution and obscenity in particular. Composed primarily of Protestant moral reformers and middle class women, the Victorian era campaign also attacked contraception, which was viewed as an immoral practice that promoted prostitution and venereal disease. The earliest forms of birth control was reported around 3000 B.C. Condoms were made from fish bladders, linen sheaths, and even animal intestines. In the 1500 s, the first spermicides, chemicals that kill sperm, were used to kill spermatozoa. The first condoms were made from linen cloth sheaths and soaked in chemical solution and dried before using. In 1838, condoms and diaphragms were made from vulcanized rubber. A diaphragm is a shallow, bendable cup that you put inside your vagina. It covers your cervix during sex to prevent pregnancy. • 7. The Beauty Myth Naomi Wolf Summary Kaleidoscope of Beauty In our world today, society and the dictionary have a different opinion on what constitutes beauty. The dictionary defines beauty as the qualities in a person or a thing that give pleasure to the senses or the mind ( Beauty ). Society has a more cruel definition of beauty. It puts pressure on women who want to appear beautiful to everyone but themselves. Naomi Wolf, author of The Beauty Myth, wrote, Many are ashamed to admit that such trivial concerns to do with physical appearance, bodies, faces, hair, clothes matter so much (486). So instead of accepting the fact that everybody has flaws, nowadays women will spend unbelievable amounts of money to try to rid themselves of these flaws just to feel beautiful. Society today refuses to accept people who accept their flaws instead of telling the population that flaws make a person essentially unique and different. The concept of beauty revolves around three main ideas: Physical appearance, aging, and losing control of themselves. In The Beauty Myth, Wolf explains Contemporary standards of feminine beauty have devolved to a point that can only be described as anorexic, and America s young women are paying the price through a near epidemic of bulimia and anorexia (486). Girls today do not feel comfortable in their own skin and try so hard to become somebody else. She says, The beauty myth tells a story: the quality called beauty objectively and universally exists. Women must want to embody it and men must want to possess women who embody it (Wolf 488). Women should want to feel beautiful, but not for herself, but for the approval from the male population. The Structure within the Battle of Windhover Essay The Structure within the Battle of Windhover The images throughout the Windhover recognize the battle Jesus Christ fought while He walked the earth. The battle involved Jesus fighting for humankind s eternal salvation and the establishment of the kingdom of God on earth. Gerard Manley Hopkins, author of the poem, reinforces this imagery of the battle along with undercutting the imagery to add more confusion and mystery to this already complex poem. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What God initially designed as pure and righteous became senseless and corrupted because of humankind s weak free will to choose good over evil. In a like manner, Hopkins began the poem with an innocent looking five syllable line with a normal iambic baseline. In addition, humankind s original sinfulness profoundly hurt God as well as shattering all the trust humans and God had together. Similarily, Hopkins first presents a regular five stressed line only to see it turn confusing and wicked (to the readers at least). The original sin committed by humans caused Christ to incarnate into a divine human; therefore, launching the beginning of the battle that Jesus fought. The second stanza starts with two highly emphasized, seven syllable lines reinforcing the image of the ascension. Just as accentuation was placed on creation and the incarnation, Hopkins places significance on the transformation of Jesus back to His divine Godly State from His divine human form. After Jesus died on the Cross and rose again to a new life three days later, He appeared to His Apostles over a forty day period. Jesus then ascended to heaven and entrusted the war on earth to His Apostles on the day called Pentecost. Symptoms of autism will usually start showing when a child is around 18months (Hourigan Hourigan, 2009:40). The main problem concerning autism that this literature study will focus on is the delay and defect with regards to communication in the autistic child with specific reference to the classroom situation. Extensive studies have been done on the autistic spectrum disorder. These children will be introverted and usually live their lives in an isolated world. They struggle with many different aspects of everyday life which causes them to retreat into their comfort zone of seclusion. Educators and teachers should strive to understand this comfort zone in order to be able to relate and communicate effectively with these children. • 11. Descriptive Essay On Going Down Hills The sun was playing hide and seek with the moon, the moon was seeking. The trees standing motionless with their fingertips covered in baking sugar. As my eyes broke the horizon of the hill I felt something hit my feet, it was my stomach. Looking down the hill for 20 minutes I came to a conclusion, I m screwed. As we sat there, the three of us, with our eyes crawling over the hill to look down it once more, we got up. One by one. It was the first year my cousins and I had decided to go snowboarding. Most of the guys had no real experience going down hills while glued to a frictionless two by four. I was proud of the experience I had, a whole one inch of it. Going on a small practice runway just to get the feel of riding before going up was what we all started off on. My butt had became a close friend with the rock hard ground from all those unexpected meetings when the body wouldn t feel like going the same direction as the board. Feeling confident from making a new friend and wanting to go up some actual hills, we left the rest of the guys behind. I was one of the ones that felt like we were ready for some new friend making grounds. Making our way to the line to get onto the chair lift we all laughed as we knew that we were about to get hit with some reality. As the line slowly evaporated in front of me, I could hear the screeching sound of the cables getting louder. Simply just walking up the the lift and sitting down wasn t an option. We are very close to one another, and she has been with my dad since I was 4. I would consider her my mom not my step mom. Since she lives 4 hours away, I was unable to meet with her in person for the interview so a phone call was necessary. She s a very outgoing person, who is great at making conversation and telling stories. Even though it would have been more ideal to meet in person to conduct the interview, the phone call still felt natural and helpful. A few times over the course of the interview it was hard to hear what she had said. I did not want to interrupt her, so I missed a few details. Overall, it went very well, and it lasted the perfect amount of time. Since I am her daughter and already know key characteristics about her life, she felt comfortable sharing with me. Even when talking about her ex husband, she did not hold back. To begin, Christine Howell was born January 12th 1958 in Williamsport, PA. The Susquehanna River flows through Williamsport, and Williamsport is a very manufacturing and industry based place. It was the lumbering capital of world in the 1800s. • 14. Port Security Planning Port Security Planning What are the components that contribute to port security planning, why are they important, and what aspects of security planning are considered in port facility operations? Surveillance cameras: These are special video cameras fitted at designated points of the port. They capture at least most of the actions carried out within the premises of the port. These cameras are normally positioned in areas that are out of bounds or inaccessible to individuals. Such a component is important in a port as it monitors and records movements of goods and people in and out of the port. In the event of illegal actions, those individuals captured by the camera are easily brought to book. In addition, the presence of these cameras serves as a deterrent to people who may be planning to carry out illegal activities at the port. Space for expansion: this factor component falls under the designing and architectural stages. It is important to understand that maritime is one of the most dynamic sectors of transport. The last two decades have seen unprecedented growth in maritime activities with large cargo and cruise ships being developed. This implies that the amount of goods or the number of passengers that a port handles have been on a gradual rise over these years. Consequently, the architectural designs are tailored to meet such requirements. Also, a lot of ways the frontier land today is isolated compared to the West we live in today, too. The frontier emphasized the spirit of nationalism and individualism in the United States. As mentioned amongst the themes of the West, the frontier experience converted settlers into individualists, who hoped to gain opportunity in the lands of the West. The ample amount of resources and the greater social mobility of frontier areas instilled a form of individualism in American frontiersman. This is similar to the individualism present today, for instance in politics and other government affairs, people dislike of governmental interference in their affairs, similar to the people that had migrated to the West so they could be more independent and have less governmental interference. Migrating somewhere new becomes an unfamiliar environment, as travelers adapted and devised new techniques and objects to cope with an unknown land. This can also be seen now in Americans being able to adapt to innovations and keep innovations and ideas of the Western front. In many rural areas, the concept of land and ranches, how to care for them, and the small settlement is still evident today, especially in the state we live in. Although the history of the American frontier is glorified for the vanquishing of Indian and the march of manifest destiny that made America great and special, this is still evident today in society. For instance, in media today, the Dakota Pipelines were on Native American tribal land, yet we as Americans used the power of authority to make them leave their land for the supposed greater benefit of America. That was the notion in the past, and still is the notion today, Native Americans were not considered Americans, although the inhabited areas and lands way before we had. The representation of the West showcased triumph of civilization over savagery. Also, back in the 19th century, scholarly essays were written that stated moving west separated Americans from their European roots, those who were from there. This is evident today as well, ... The exact mechanisms by which COX is inhibited in various circumstances are still being discussed and this is because of the differences in activity of aspirin, paracetamol and other NSAIDs. With these differences it has been proposed that further COX enzymes may exist. A theory of how paracetamol may work is by the inhibition of the COX 3 isoform (a COX 1 splice variant). COX 3 has been expressed in dogs and it shows that this enzyme shares similarities to other COX enzymes, while producing pro inflammatory chemicals and is selectively inhibited by paracetamol. • 23. Hamlet Tragedy Analysis Hamlet, despite being an introspective look at grief as well as a cautionary tale of the human condition, is first and foremost a tragedy. The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, by William Shakespeare, is a play written in the early 17th century that follows the Senecan formula: a playwriting method originating in Rome which accentuates points of revenge, honor, the supernatural, suicide, and blood. This formula is evident throughout the play but is fully realized in the character of Hamlet. He is a tragic hero, bound to revenge, goaded by the ghost of his father, who with each decision moves closer to his inevitable death. Hamlet has many observable traits. He is intelligent, emotional, temperamental, and bold but his tragic flaw is that of overthinking. Though Hamlet is driven by instinct to right the wrong done to his father, he does not act as such. He carefully calculates all of his advances against his antagonists and spends a considerable amount of time explaining to the audience what complications certain issues present. O all you host of heaven! O earth! What else? And shall I couple hell? Oh, fie! Hold, hold, my heart, And you, my sinews, grow not instant old, But bear me stiffly up. Remember thee! • 30. The Great Artists Of The Conceptual Art Movement When one thinks of Art the most popular image is of great works, famous for their visually pleasing and intellectually rousing qualities. These works, aside from being visually and intellectually stimulating, have been used to challenge and encourage an audience to think about what it s representing in flexible and open minded ways, this is usually done by shocking the audience out of their complacency when viewing artworks. The great artists of the Conceptual Art movement especially emphasised this by focusing more on the concept behind a piece than the art itself. Three particular artists that are famous for challenging audiences with their work include Marcel Duchamp (1887 1968), Jenny Holzer (1950 present) and Ai WeiWei (1957 present). Even though these three artists are part of different times, countries, political and cultural movements, they all use their works to confront and challenge every part of their audience including critics, the media and the general public. Marcel Duchamp is widely considered as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, his early works saw him in the Post Impressionist movement however his want for art to be in the service of the mind saw his move away from that style of art. He was a French, sculptor, painter and writer whose work is associated Dada and with being the precursor to conceptual art. Microwaves also contain actuators, which is a type of motor that is responsible for moving or controlling the mechanism. It is worked by a source of energy, usually electric current, hydraulic fluid pressure, or pneumatic pressure, and translates that energy into motion. The use of robotics for microwaves impacts the society in domestic situations. The robot fulfils its intended purpose, which is to assist operators with their household requirements. The automated system saves time and increases productivity as it follows a series of instructions given by the constructor. The buttons on the membrane keyboard allows operators to modify and alter their requirements, which can be made for easier use. The intelligence of this robotics technology leads to a major impact on society. There are over billions of microwaves in the shops today, which are typically used to assist people with their everyday life. When people want to warm foods, they do it through the use of this robot technology. A microwave heats food by passing radiation through it specifically known as microwave radiation. • 33. The Number Three In Dante s Inferno Symbolism can be utilized in diverse manners but remains a prominent aspect of life within most religions throughout the world. Out of ample differential symbolic numbers, Dante showcases the number three throughout the allegorical tale of his journey through hell. Dante bases Inferno upon the Christian idea of hell by using the religiously symbolic number three within his choice of poetic structure, the monsters displayed, and the associations of the number three in the Bible. Dante s poetic masterpiece The Divine Comedy is composed of three individual cántica: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. The three works include 33 cantos in each poem, with the exception of Inferno, totaling 100 cantos, which is the square of 10; 10 is the perfect number, for it is composed solely of the square of the Trinity plus 1, which represents the Unity of God. Outliers Reflection After reading the chapter in the book Outliers, The Story of Success, I believe that Gladwell did a great job explaining how different cultures can cause an impact our to the society and the individuals. Although I love working in a work place that embraces diversity and is accepting of all kinds of people, this may lead to some challenges due to the differences that we pertain. For example, every coworker I work with is unique in his or her own way; we were all raised differently and were born into other communities. Furthermore, this enabled us all have different ways of doing things or handling situations. One thing that I was taught to do a certain way may bother a coworker of mine if they do it differently and vise versa which could lead to those challenges. This paper is intended to research and report the similarities between heavy metal listeners across the world. In order to do that I will be splitting the world up into four major categories for observation and research: 1. The United States 2. English speaking Europe (Ireland, Great Britain) 3. In most non English speaking European nations tobacco use is almost considered a national pastime. In countries like France and Italy smokers are a majority of the population in general, so the metal fans do not really stand apart from the cultural norm. In Asian countries smoking is more socially acceptable than in English speaking countries, but there is a slightly higher rate of smokers who are metal fans over smokers in the general population. The surveys that have been done in Asian countries point to a higher rate of hero worship and idolization; being that many heavy metal musicians smoke and are heroes to their fans this hypothesis makes a lot of sense. Most cultures also have a manner of dress that is recognizable (although this is becoming rare due to the current globalization trend... with the 4 different cultural groups that this paper is focusing on the fashion trends are almost identical). Most heavy metal listeners tend to wear darker clothes (usually blacks and reds), but due to the culture stressing individuality and truth, the actual manner of dress can vary quite a bit from metalhead to metalhead. At a concert (no matter which cultural area it s in) the most common attire for a fan is a black band t shirt or hooded sweatshirt and jeans. • 37. The Minds Of Humans Are Imperfect The minds of humans are imperfect. It is for this reason that it is often easy to mistake fantasies and reality. Fantasies can be described as wishful thinking, as imagining something perfect and they may or may not have their roots based on reality. Therefore, reality is what we can deduce from the fives senses and experience. In Don Quixote, by Miguel de Cervantes, many different kinds of women are encountered throughout the adventures of Don Quixote. There are poor peasants, rich vassals, prostitutes, and even shepherdess. Women in this novel seem to fall under either women of fantasy or as a women of reality. There is a stark difference between the two groups of women, but sometimes they are so sublime that they may even jump between women of fantasy and those of reality. Dorotea, the rich peasant and wife of the nobleman Don Fernando, and Luscinda, a very wealthy women and wife to Cardenio, would fall explicitly into the category of sublime women which can transcend from reality to fantasy and work their way between either realm. Dulcinea and Aldonza Lorenza fall into categories the very contrasting categories of fantasy and reality, respectively. Therefore, Luscinda, Dorotea, and Dulcinea serve as the fantastical ideals that men desire women to be, but truth of the matter is that most women of the time were what Aldonza Lorenzo was a women of reality. As far as the most ordinary woman of the three fantastical women of part I, Luscinda is the one that most fits that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to say whether or not Stewart handled her indictment responsibly, it is necessary to start with an assumption regarding her guilt or innocence. For the purposes of this paper, based on the information I have read about the case, and based on the fact that she was found guilty of all counts (although not all specifications) in her stock conspiracy trial (with the exception of the security fraud charge which was thrown out), I will assume that she is guilty. Also, in later questioning the witness admitted that it was impossible to determine how many different blue pens were used on the worksheet. At any rate, the prearranged price as set by Stewart might have seemed a little too convenient to some. The question here continues to deal with duty and the greater good. If Stewart and Bacanovic did not have this prior arrangement set up, then it was Bacanovic s duty to Merrill Lynch and to the investors to uphold the responsibilities of his position. Again, this situation deals with the greater good of the investors as a whole, not just Martha Stewart as an individual, and therein lies the purpose behind the rules in place. I think Like Water For Chocolate is a feminist novel because the two main characters in the novel exhibit characteristics that represent what a feminist is. Feminism is the belief that women and men should have equal rights and opportunities. Tita and Gertrudis show through their behavior, actions, and language that they believe that women should be able to live a life with the same rights and opportunities as men.
