Outliers Reflection
After reading the chapter in the book Outliers, The Story of Success, I believe that Gladwell did a
great job explaining how different cultures can cause an impact our to the society and the individuals.
Although I love working in a work place that embraces diversity and is accepting of all kinds of
people, this may lead to some challenges due to the differences that we pertain. For example, every
coworker I work with is unique in his or her own way; we were all raised differently and were born
into other communities. Furthermore, this enabled us all have different ways of doing things or
handling situations. One thing that I was taught to do a certain way may bother a coworker of mine if
they do it differently and vise versa which could lead to those challenges. A talent that someone may
be superior at, may be extremely difficult for somebody else. In the end, everyone has their own
talents which should be embraced and used in order to become successful. In the book, they

Koreans are very similar to Colombians when it came to communication. Likewise, Koreans are also
respectful and passive people, which hindered them from confrontations whenever faced in situations.
They were submissive and often afraid of communicating the errors in the aircraft to the flight captain,
due to the authority he had. In addition, they wanted to make sure that the Captains were less
intimidating and didn t act the American air traffic controllers, so the workers on the flight wouldn t be
submissive when it came to speaking up in an emergency. This taught Koreans that they needed to
improve their communication with one another, and learn from the little mistakes that all three

Heavy Metal Music Observation And Research
People who listen to heavy metal music are often seen as a minority group in most cultures and
countries, but is it possible that heavy metal music listeners have a distinct culture of their own that
transcends the dividing lines of nations? This paper is intended to research and report the similarities
between heavy metal listeners across the world. In order to do that I will be splitting the world up into
four major categories for observation and research: 1. The United States 2. English speaking Europe
(Ireland, Great Britain) 3. Non English speaking Europe (Finland, Switzerland, France, Italy, Russia,

In most non English speaking European nations tobacco use is almost considered a national pastime.
In countries like France and Italy smokers are a majority of the population in general, so the metal
fans do not really stand apart from the cultural norm. In Asian countries smoking is more socially
acceptable than in English speaking countries, but there is a slightly higher rate of smokers who are
metal fans over smokers in the general population. The surveys that have been done in Asian countries
point to a higher rate of hero worship and idolization; being that many heavy metal musicians smoke
and are heroes to their fans this hypothesis makes a lot of sense. Most cultures also have a manner of
dress that is recognizable (although this is becoming rare due to the current globalization trend... with
the 4 different cultural groups that this paper is focusing on the fashion trends are almost identical).
Most heavy metal listeners tend to wear darker clothes (usually blacks and reds), but due to the culture
stressing individuality and truth, the actual manner of dress can vary quite a bit from metalhead to
metalhead. At a concert (no matter which cultural area it s in) the most common attire for a fan is a
black band t shirt or hooded sweatshirt and jeans. Heavy metal fans also tend to have more piercings
and tattoos then non metal fans (many long time fans will actually incorporate bands

The Minds Of Humans Are Imperfect
The minds of humans are imperfect. It is for this reason that it is often easy to mistake fantasies and
reality. Fantasies can be described as wishful thinking, as imagining something perfect and they may
or may not have their roots based on reality. Therefore, reality is what we can deduce from the fives
senses and experience. In Don Quixote, by Miguel de Cervantes, many different kinds of women are
encountered throughout the adventures of Don Quixote. There are poor peasants, rich vassals,
prostitutes, and even shepherdess. Women in this novel seem to fall under either women of fantasy or
as a women of reality. There is a stark difference between the two groups of women, but sometimes
they are so sublime that they may even jump between women of fantasy and those of reality. Dorotea,
the rich peasant and wife of the nobleman Don Fernando, and Luscinda, a very wealthy women and
wife to Cardenio, would fall explicitly into the category of sublime women which can transcend from
reality to fantasy and work their way between either realm. Dulcinea and Aldonza Lorenza fall into
categories the very contrasting categories of fantasy and reality, respectively. Therefore, Luscinda,
Dorotea, and Dulcinea serve as the fantastical ideals that men desire women to be, but truth of the
matter is that most women of the time were what Aldonza Lorenzo was a women of reality.
As far as the most ordinary woman of the three fantastical women of part I, Luscinda is the one that
most fits that

whether or not Stewart handled her indictment responsibly, it is necessary to start with an assumption
regarding her guilt or innocence. For the purposes of this paper, based on the information I have read
about the case, and based on the fact that she was found guilty of all counts (although not all
specifications) in her stock conspiracy trial (with the exception of the security fraud charge which was

Feminism can be defined as the belief that women and men should have equal rights and
opportunities.
I think Like Water For Chocolate is a feminist novel because the two main characters in the novel
exhibit characteristics that represent what a feminist is. Feminism is the belief that women and men
should have equal rights and opportunities. Tita and Gertrudis show through their behavior, actions,
and language that they believe that women should be able to live a life with the same rights and
opportunities as men.

In conclusion, we see that two main and powerful characters in Like Water For Chocolate, Tita and
Gertrudis, exemplify and demonstrate the traits that feminists have the ability and fearlessness to take
advantage of the same rights and opportunities that men take advantage of. These two characters
support my belief that Like Water For Chocolate is a feminist
