It is an assertion of the

28. WHAT IS SURROGACY?
involves a woman agreeing to carry a baby for
someone else. After the baby is born the birth
mother gives custody and guardianship to the
intended parent or parents.
29. 4 TYPES OF SURROGACY
TRADITIONAL SURROGACY
-the surrogate contributes the egg while
the sperm is done through intrauterine
insemination from the intended father.
GESTATIONAL SURROGACY
-the surrogate does not contribute the egg.
The genetic material is from the intended
parents.
30. 4 TYPES OF SURROGACY
COMMERCIAL SURROGACY
-surrogates are paid for carrying the
pregnancy plus she receives a
reimbursement for all the expenses.
ALTRUISTIC SURROGACY
-there is no payment given to the surrogate
as a reward. However, surrogates can be
financially compensated in recognition of the
expenses derived from the pregnancy like
prenatal visits and laboratory fees.
At the moment there are no laws governing surrogacy in the
Philippines.
