Descriptive Essay About My First Plane
As I scanned my boarding pass and walked down the tunnel hallway that led to the airplane, my heart
began to beat a little faster in my chest and my hands got clammy. I had never been outside of the
country before! After boarding the airplane, I sat down in my seat next to my dad, so ecstatic to finally
be on my way to Peru for my first mission trip! With the seat belt fastened snugly across my hips and
the cool air from the vents comfortably blowing on my face, I peered out the window as the plane took
off, my excitement growing as we rose up past the clouds into the clear blue sky. Although it felt like
any other normal flight, somehow I knew this one would be different.
Shortly after we took off and reached a higher elevation, I put my tray table down in preparation for
the meal and drinks that were being served by the flight attendants. Rolling their food and drink carts
in front of them, the flight attendants slowly made their way down the aisle. Finally, they reached my
row and I received my first international flight meal mozzarella cheese, basil, and tomato sandwich, a
square of cheesecake, and a small chocolate. As I was unwrapping my sandwich and getting ready to
enjoy my meal, totally captivated by the newness and the excitement of it all, the plane suddenly
experienced some unexpected turbulence. Nothing crazy at first, only a couple bumps that caused me
to hold on to the arm rests and grow a little nervous. But then it happened!
We dropped.

The Information Processing Model ( Woolfolk And Margetts...
Briefly, describe a past academic (school or tertiary) learning experience that you found difficult. With
specific reference to the relevant elements of the Information Processing Model (as described in
lecture and in Woolfolk and Margetts 2016), explain why you found the learning situation difficult.
What strategies, drawn from the readings and lecture, would you now put in place to improve such a
situation if you faced it again in the future.
This essay will briefly describe a past academic learning experience that I found difficult. I will use
elements of the Information Processing Model (Woolfolk Margetts, 2016) to help explain why the
difficulties occurred and to uncover different strategies that could be put in place if ever I was to face
this, and other situations again.
The past learning experience that I found difficult was a speech assignment at high school when I was
14 years old. It wasn t just the presenting but the process of researching and having to write a 30
minute speech for an internal English assignment. I found it hard and it ended with me failing.
Our five senses are constantly being battered by new sights, sounds and smells from the environment.
For us to make appreciate these senses, there is an initial process that transforms these new sensations
or information it s called sensory memory (Woolfolk Margetts 2016). I would describe it as a
temporary holding cell that stores new sensations to allow processing to take place.

The Emerald Isle Research Paper
The Emerald Isle evokes a vision of lush green hills, misty mountains, the scent of fresh spring air,
and breathtaking sea cliffs. It is a land of rich traditions and a people known for hospitality. If I could
choose to visit anywhere in the world it would have to be Ireland. This emerald Isle beckons me
because of its diverse natural beauty and Irish culture.
Geography and Climate Ireland is an island located off the northwestern coastline of continental
Europe and is west of the United Kingdom. It is boarded by the Irish Sea, Atlantic Ocean, and St.
George s Channel. Its absolute location is 53.4129 degrees N 8.2439 degrees W. The independent

Much of the calendar still reflects the old pagan customs, with later Christian traditions also having
significant influence. In Ireland, Christmas has multiple traditions and some aren t connected to
Christianity in any way at all, but reflect even older cultural and religious practices. To many of the
Irish, St Stephen is believed to be the first Christian martyr. Around the year 33 CE he was stoned to
death. He was hiding from his enemies when a wren gave him away. Another legend has it that
Vikings raided Ireland on St Stephen s day. Soldiers were moving in toward the Viking camp to drive
them out, but a wren started eating crumbs from a drum and alerted the Vikings of the presence of the
Irish soldiers. Some people believed that it was the wrens that betrayed them and should be stoned to
death, just as St Stephen was. Boys would go out hunting for wren and throwing stones at them. They
also would tie the dead bird to a stick and parade around with it. They did this in attempt to get money
so the entire village could celebrate. Though the tradition of killing wrens on Stephen s day died out in
the 1900 s, St Stephen s Day is still known as the Day of the Wren, mainly in rural areas. St Stephen s
Day has been a holiday in Ireland for hundreds of years. It became a public holiday following the

Thomas Cole and The Hudson School of Romantic Landscape
The first American group of painters, The Hudson School of Romantic Landscapes, was lead by
Thomas Cole, who was born in 1801 in England. He went to Philadelphia and Ohio as a traveling
portrait painter in 1819. In addition, he traveled to Europe where he painted many Italian subjects, and
later many of the scenes in his paintings came from his European studies. He died in 1848 at the age
of 47. Cole s artwork represents the Romantic style of painting, especially in his famous work The
Oxbow (Fulwider 618). In the life and time around Thomas Cole, three things stand out. The major
themes in Cole s artwork, what was romantic about the Hudson River School s art, and why landscape
was a national religious symbol for Americans. A self taught artist, who lived on a bluff overlooking
the Hudson River, he was an outdoor enthusiast. He would hike throughout the area in summer, fall,
and spring, sketching the gorgeous scenes. In the winter, when his memory of specific settings faded,
he would paint the crucial mood of a place with oil paints. Reflecting his working method, his finished
work was a mixture of ideal and real. He blurred the distant vistas and painted the foreground in
painstaking detail, which suggested the infinite American landscape. His work illustrated the proud
belief that America was a fresh beginning for humanity; a primeval paradise (Strickland and Boswell
81). In addition, Cole inspired a group of painters that eventually became known as the Hudson River

Benefits During Middle Childhood
During middle childhood, being a good parent requires the ability to adjust to your child s fluctuating
needs with as little conflict as possible (Eccles, 1999, p. 40). Children at this age are looking to gain
independence while still needing the stability of home (Eccles, 1999, p. 40). Because of this, if a
parent is trying to be their child s friend, there may not be a positive outcome for the parent or the
child. Being a child s friend puts you emotionally on the same level with them; however, during
middle childhood a child benefits from knowing that there is an adult who loves them, that can handle
the tough times and decisions in life, can give them instruction, and can set clear rules (Centers for

Geology s Control of the Coastal Features in the Swanage Area
Geology s Control of the Coastal Features in the Swanage Area
Geology can have a great affect on many coastal features. This is because the lithology or structure of
the rocks may affect the coastal landforms, and the different processes occurring may also affect the
way the landforms turn out.
Starting with the Swanage area it can be seen that the area of Swanage is an Atlantic coast. This means
that there are bands of hard and soft rock in the coast and therefore due to rocks of different hardness,
the rocks erode at different rates and so you get distinct landforms. At Swanage the main types of
rocks are Wealden clay, Purbeck (limestone) and Portland stone. Below is a basic map of the area ...

In Studland Bay there s a beach and the reason for this is that it has retreated about 2km (maximum)
from the original cliff line and so this means that incoming waves have longer to travel till they reach
the cliff and since the shoreline gets shallower it means tat the waves start to loose a lot more energy
and so they deposit whatever load they are carrying, which causes the formation of the first type of
landform the beach.
The Foreland is made up of chalk. Chalk is fairly resistant and is defiantly a lot more resistant than the
clay and sands, with which it s surrounded by. This make the Foreland very resistant and so the sea
can t erode it that much and so its left as a headland. However, some erosion has occurred, evidence
for this is Old Harry and the Pinnacles, which can only be formed due to erosion. This erosion could
be due to the fact that on either side of the headland are two bays or so this means that due to wave
refraction wave energy is focused onto the headland causing it to erode. Another distinct thing about
the landform of the Foreland is that it has a slanted shape, instead of just sticking out. This is shown

Esperanza Rising Book Report
The book Esperanza Rising, written by Pam Munoz Ryan is a historical fiction story about a girl
named Esperanza who once lived in Mexico. She was very rich until one day her father was killed by
infamous bandits. Soon, Esperanza s house was burned down, and the remaining members of the
family fled to United States. Although the characters may not all be real, the events reflect to the time
period, which is in the 1930s, during the Great Depression.
There are several main characters in this story Esperanza Rising. First of all, there is Esperanza, a girl
who faced many conflicts throughout the story. PaPa, Esperanza s father was generous, however, later
killed by bandits. Ramona, Esperanza s mother was very nice, but later became very sick. Alfonso,
Ramona s servant, brought Esperanza and MaMa to the United States. Miguel, Ramona s servant and
Alfonso s son, also went with Esperanza. One day, Miguel took Esperanza s money and used it to
bring Abuelita to America. Abuelita, Esperanza s grandma tried to flee to the U.S. to have a better
living away from the corrupt uncles. As I stated before Esperanza Rising is a story about a girl named

These obstacles made Esperanza stronger. In the end, Esperanza might not have money, but has much

The Federal Reserve System is not necessarily owned by anyone. However, sections of the Federal

Legal tender is a average of wage recognized by a legal rule to be authentic for accomplishing a
financial duty. Paper currency and coins are common forms of legal tender in many countries. The
government does not let up on the debt responsibility until payment is enlisted. Why do prices change
and why does the Fed aim for a 2% inflation rate?
Prices change because of the economy. Inflation is represented as a rise in the general price level. For
example, prices of many goods and services such as housing, apparel, food, transportation, and fuel
must be increasing in order for inflation to occur in the overall economy. If prices of just a few types
of goods or services are growing, there isn t necessarily inflation. Demand Pull Inflation and Cost

informal inflation goal over a long period, only making its policy official in January of 2012, when it

longer run with the Federal Reserve s statutory

Although 8,398 Iowans died during World War II, the death of the University of Iowa s only Heisman
Trophy winner shook the state like no other wartime tragedy. Although College Football ranked him
as the ninth greatest college football player of all time, Nile Kinnick is perhaps best remembered, as
Charles Bullard summed up in The Des Moines Register, for his strength of character and his sacrifice
to his country (Lidd).
Nile Kinnick was born on July 9, 1918 in Adel, Iowa, the grandson of a governor. He attended the
University of Iowa after failing a football tryout at Minnesota. At Iowa, Kinnick became the team s
main passer. Kinnick played halfback and during his senior year, played 402 minutes (of a possible

The Death Of The Western World
If she felt any misgiving, my presence would prevent it from being too late, even at the supposed last
moment... But her look of reply was quite sufficient; she had not come without counting the cost. Her
belief in the Pythagorean doctrine of transmigration was firm and fixed; and she looked forward,
without a doubt, to secure for herself and her husband, by this sacrifice, a new life of happier
existence, and more refined enjoyments than the sordid realities which the world now offered... This
quote, recorded by Richard Hartley Kennedy, a 19th century British surgeon living in British India
exemplifies the almost macabre fascination with the Hindu rite of widow burning known as Sati that
the Western World has developed over the course of the last several hundred years. Perhaps, this
morbid obsession originated with the Western World seeing in Sati a Romeo and Juliette like
expression of true love. Subsequently, the West s fascination can perhaps be credited to the ensuing
human rights controversy that this rite has generated over the course of the past two hundred years.
Regardless as to the reason of why the West has taken an interest in this rite, I will attempt in this
paper to decipher and interpret this ritual mostly through the lens of a Western philosopher of religion,
Mircea Eliade. Eliade, in his work The Sacred and The Profane: The Nature of Religion, postulates
that for modern men to truly understand religion, they must remove themselves from contemporary

Food Digestion Research Paper
Digestion begins when one sees food. Upon seeing food the brain sends signals for the salivary glands
to release saliva. When food is first placed into the mouth by taking a bite it is masticated and broken
down to increase the surface area so that food can be digested faster, as well as allowing it to be
swallowed. While being masticated food is moistened with saliva, which contains Amylase, which
begins the process of breaking down carbohydrates. Once thoroughly chewed saliva forms the food
into a clump, which is called a bolus. Once food is chewed and formed into a bolus the tongue pushes
the food to the back of the mouth into the throat so that it can be swallowed. Swallowing occurs by
reflexes opening and closing the epiglottis, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bile that is released is produced by the liver, which then fills the bile duct before overflowing and
then being stored in the gallbladder, which then allows it into the duodenum through a duct. In
between meals the gallbladder absorbs water and electrolytes from the bile. The bile that is released is
used to emulsify fats, which is to make the fats separate into small droplets. This allows them to be
mixed with water and then acted upon by enzymes to further help their digestion. It is easier for the
lipids to be broken down once they are emulsified because they are smaller and the lipase can attack it
more completely. Bile itself is a green colored fluid that is made of minerals, cholesterol, neutral fats,
phospholipids, bile acids also called bile salts, and bile pigments. Bilirubin is what gives the color to
the bile, and it is produced from the decomposition of hemoglobin as previously stated. Bile acids are
steroids that are formed from cholesterol. Both bile acid and lecithin, which is a phospholipid, help
digest and absorb fats. Anything else that is in bile is waste that will be excreted. In the end however
around eighty percent of the bile acids are reabsorbed in the ileum, which is the last section of the
small intestine, and they are returned to the liver where they are absorbed and re secreted by
hepatocytes. The circle of secretion and reabsorption is called the enterohepatic

knows that it would be useful. She also picked things that she needed, as she knew that she would

come across some objects.
This demonstrates Preparation as the young girl knew that Baba Yaga would use her, so she was
prepared to go and try to escape the house.
Oonagh was very prepared even with little amount of time. After Finn McCool made the bridge he
realised he did the wrong thing and led The giant to his house. Even with little time Oonagh was
prepared to get him back to his land. You men are always boasting about your muscles, but sometimes
you should use your brain instead.
Oonagh definitely has Preparation as she was prepared to meet the Massive Giant and scare him to go
back to his land.
The young girl and Oonagh certainly have similar characteristics to make them heroes of the story.
There are many more Characteristics that make heroes, the hero of their story.
Gilgamesh and Oonagh share parallel characteristics which both have Bravery. They show bravery in
different ways but make them both heroes.
Gilgamesh showed Bravery when he was in the forest cutting wood for the village. Then Humbaba
showed and Gilgamesh and Enkidu were fighting a great giant. Gilgamesh was brave and fought untill

Essay On The Picture Of Dorian Gray
London is a commonly utilized backdrop for novels, plays and films. The monuments make for
stunning backgrounds in modern cinematography while the history and character of the city add
meaning and symbolism to a number of works and the works, in turn, contribute to the reputation of
London. In Oscar Wilde s The Picture of Dorian Gray, Dorian is a beautiful young man with an
increasingly corrupted soul as he is seduced by the city. The story of his decay takes place in two
famous parts of London the West End, known for its wealth and opulence and the East End, better
known for its poverty and opium. The two sides of the city mirror the two sides of Dorian himself, his

s portrait has been altered with each sin. The stereotype already established of the West End as pristine
and perfect is ruined in this scene. The drugs, violence, and overall wickedness had previously been
contained but spilling over into the West End, London as a whole appears wicked and immoral. The
West End had been the place where Dorian was introduced to the temptations that would lead him to
ruin but the West End is not where the action took place. The East End, like Dorian s portrait, bears
the weight of reality while the West End is more like Dorian, perfectly clean on the

Organizational Structure And Leadership Style Of Greater...
Organizational Analysis: Greater Baltimore Medical Center
The adaptability of healthcare industries in an evolving world of change requires dynamics to
identifying weakness and distinction. Often times, these organizational modifications mirror changes
in the society. They are inspired by collective experiences, perceptions, norms, values, economics and
political forces at a given particular period (Thomas, 2014). The purpose of this paper is to explore the
organizational structure and leadership style of Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC), identify
its culture, mission, values and goals. The complex adaptive system, level of greatness and readiness
for change will also be addressed.
Complex Adaptive System
Currently, the complexity of the adaptive system of the healthcare organizational structure remains
convoluted due to the opposition to change, the fear of the unknown and the acceptance of
unpredictability. According to Plesk Greenhalgh (2001), the complex adaptive system (CAS) in the
21st century healthcare organization comprises of a group of individual representatives with the
autonomy to operate in a manner that is not entirely foreseeable thereby hindering the outcome of
other agents. Due to multiple disciplines operating collectively to achieving the desired outcome, work
environment could be inhabitable for some while adapting to change. One of the challenges of the
transformation of the CAS is the perception of seeing the whole as the sum of its parts,

Life Is Beautiful Film Analysis
Life is Beautiful Movie Analysis
Life is Beautiful, directed by Italian director Roberto Benigni, released in 1997, is a film about love,
war and death. Set just before and during WWII, the main character, Guido falls in love with the
woman of his dreams, they have a child but they get separated by the horrors of the war. Guido and his
little son strive to get reunited with his wife but their internment in a Nazi concentration camp halts
him from doing so. Nevertheless, he slyly keeps in contact with his wife so she knows they are safe
and well.
Roberto Benigni uses cinematic techniques such as music, costume and lighting to convey the strong
theme of love between two characters in the film Life is Beautiful.
In Life is Beautiful, the love between two people is a recurring theme. The music, composed by Italian
light classical composer Nicola Piovani, is one of the major factors that helps successfully convey this
theme to the audience.
In the film, the same upbeat tune is used for many of the romantic scenes between Guido and Dora.
This tune, in a more subtle tone, is the theme song for the film, and when it is repeated for the
romantic themes it gives a powerful sense of love. For example, when Dora falls out of that farm
house, and Guido catches her, the music is used for the first time in a romantic setting. The same
music is then repeated in the scene at the 11 minute mark when Guido falls off his bike into Dora and
they both fall over into a big pile of sand. This

Effects Of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
Fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) is physical and mental damage in a child due to alcohol exposure while
in the womb. Every year, 1 in 750 infants in the U.S. are born with fetal alcohol syndrome, which is
the leading known preventable cause of birth defects in the U.S. Another 40,000 children are born
with fetal alcohol effects. Some infants born with fetal alcohol syndrome have symptoms such as a
low birth weight, small head circumference, and facial abnormalities (e.g. smaller eye openings,
flattened cheekbones, etc.). Children born with fetal alcohol syndrome also experience developmental
delay, organ dysfunction, lack of imagination or curiosity, and behavioral problems (including

desirable outcomes as job satisfaction (Bateman Stasser, 1984; Mowday, Porter, Steers, 1982),
motivation (Mowday, Steers, Porter,1979), and attendance (Mathieu Zajac, 1990; Steers Rhodes,
1978) and negatively related to such outcomes as absenteeism and turnover (Clegg, 1983; Cotton
Tuttle,1986). Also, Horton stated that stronger commitment could result in less turnover and
absenteeism, thus increasing an organization s productivity (Schuler Jackson, 1996, p.302). However,

The Character Of Simon As An Allegory Of Jesus Christ
The character of Simon, from the novel Lord of the Flies , is often viewed as an allegory of Jesus
Christ, which is highly important, as Simon plays a significant role through the novel. Simon and
Christ do not only share natural, unconditional kindness, there are many parallels to be drawn with
Simon s and Jesus lives. Many would argue that the following arguments discussed are more than just
a coincidence, and that Golding intended and/or based Simon on Christ.
Firstly, a main reason why it can be interpreted that Simon is an allegory of Christ, is their role that
they both had society which can be described as controversial and tendentious; essentially, they are
both viewed as outcasts. This can be shown when he said: Maybe, he said hesitantly, maybe there is a
beast [...] What I mean is . . . maybe it s only us [...] We could sort of . . . . This tells us that the
concept of the beast being an illusion of fear, is a very taboo and a neglected concept on the island.
Moreover, the repetition of the word maybe and the use of could , indicates that Simon is very
precarious with his wording and does not want to Ralph to think of him as batty , as referenced
numerous times through the novel. Therefore, it could be argued that maybe and could connotes open
mindedness, and willingness to express ideas peacefully, not by force, because those words sound very
open and free to interpretation. This contrasts with considerable extent that Jack and the other boys

Personal Characteristics Of My Personal Experience
Personal Characteristics
I am being open to the possibilities of what I can learn from this course, and I do not take it for
granted. At the moment I am feeling overwhelmed and out of place. That being said, and so much to
learn, I will follow the process flow. I place a lot of value on my past experience, and I consider that
experience to be one of my best strengths. That experience has given me the opportunity to
communicate with people from diverse cultures, lifestyles, nationalities, professionals, etc. I had a
love for talking, wanting to know what made people say, do, or behave in certain ways. Aside from the
experiences of communicating with others; I can relate to almost anyone on a genuine level, based on
truth. Experience has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have used the verse of Scripture which says, Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty if our
strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly
away (Psalms 90:10 NIV). This has everything to do with my time spent in this life, and nothing to do
with my eternal life, which I have in Jesus Christ. I do talk about this concept with others regardless of
their age, gender, nationality etc. In doing so, I am about the Father s business pointing them to Jesus
Christ. I am riveted on the future in the sense of eternity; in fact, I believe we are living in eternity. I
would like to be more in the here and now, because that is the world we live in today, and in order to
be an effective Christian counselor, I need to be in step with those I communicate with. Effective
therapists appreciate the influence of cultureIt s one thing to communicate with those of another
culture, however, understanding that culture is a different matter. That s something I would like to
develop a deeper understanding, as I believe it would enhance my ability to gain their trust. I have
come to the realization that my own cultural bias and preconceived notions are a cause for my
sweeping away the needs of others because of their values, lifestyles, or status. For example, I would

The Vietnam War On The United States
The Vietnam War is a more frequently and familiar name for the Second Indochina War. It was the
longest war America has fought in. The Vietnam War had an impact on the American people, since it
was the first war to ever be broadcasted on television. The country was able to see what was
happening on the battleground. This war would have lasting effects on the United States and the
nation it divided. The Vietnam war started way before America became involved (1955 1975).
Indochina, which included Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, were all under French colonial rule. The
Vietnam communist nationalist, Vietminh, fought for freedom from the French. The United States sent
resources to France to help them defeat the communist risk. In 1961, when John F. Kennedy was
inaugurated, the Vietnam war was not a substantial issue. However, Vice President Johnson was sent
to Vietnam. Upon his return, he urged Kennedy to grab hold of the conflict. Kennedy decided to send
special forces instead of sending combat troops. Kennedy s secret advisors reported to him that Aerial
spraying of herbicides were used to starve the Vietcong of their food and jungle cover. The president
was forced to send more troops. Which increased the numbers from 900 to 15,000. Ngo Dinh Diem,
the leader of Vietnam at the time, was blamed for worsening the situations of the war. Since he was
Catholic and the majority of Vietnam was Buddhist, many South Vietnamese united against the
Vietnam leader. In October 1963, a

The Prince Of Machiavelli s Prince
When evaluating the political leaders in modern times there is one leader that wields his power the
most like Niccolo Machiavelli s Prince, from his book The Prince, that leader is President Vladimir
Putin of the Russian Federation. Although, Putin does not hold the title of Prince, he has held
influential positions throughout the years, i.e. Prime Minister and Acting President, that hold power
similar to the Prince. Every position that Putin has held in Russia he has acted as if he were a Prince.
Putin has held such all consuming control and influence over Russia that some would say that Putin is
the state , a position that Machiavelli strongly suggest that all Princes should have. Although, there are
infinite examples showing Putin acting similar to Machiavelli s Prince throughout the years, the
current interaction between Syria and Russia exemplifies Putin s similarity to Machiavelli s Prince. In
the interaction between Russia and Syria, Putin mostly resembles the trait of the Prince that
Machiavelli describe in chapters 14, 18, and 21 In chapter 14 of Machiavelli s The Prince Machiavelli
explains how a prince should act when dealing with military affairs. Machiavelli says that the Prince
should be the head of the military, the Prince should know all things military, and the Prince should
always be pursuing military advances (Machiavelli Chapter 14). Machiavelli says that between an
armed and unarmed man, the armed man will not follow the demands of an unarmed man, but

Catholicism In America
The United States of America is known for having a history consisting of intolerance towards ideals
and opinions. However, America is showing a turn towards liberalism. America has shown a turn in
religion, immigration, and race. America has become more liberal through religion as well. Although
many believe that people came to America in seeking refuge from religious discrimination, there was
actually quite the opposite. In 1732, the founders of the Georgia colony drew up a charter that
specifically banned Catholicism. Many efforts in the past have been made to restrict Catholicism, yet
today Catholicism is the largest religion in the United States, taking up 22% of the U.S. population.
Catholics are not the only ones who faced obstacles

Why A Bank Serves A Geographic Area
If a bank serves a geographic area that extends substantially beyond a state boundary, the bank must
delineate separate assessment areas for the areas in each state. If a bank serves a geographic area that
extends substantially beyond an MSA boundary, the bank must delineate separate assessment areas for
the areas inside and outside the MSA. PERFORMANCE TESTS AND STANDARDS The Regulatory
Agencies evaluate a bank s CRA performance under various standards depending on whether the bank
is a large or small banks, is a wholesale or limited purpose bank, or is operating under a strategic plan.
CRA ratings are publicly available. Therefore, a poor rating may have an effect on a bank s reputation.
There is no monetary fine or other direct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A large bank is graded on each of the tests as Outstanding, High Satisfactory, Low Satisfactory, Needs
to Improve, or Substantial Non compliance. The three grades are then melded into a single grade for
the bank. A high rating under one of the tests can offset a low rating on one of the other tests. Lending
Test In assessing a bank s lending activities, the Regulatory Agencies review the following
information: Lending activity: The number and dollar amount of home mortgage, small business, and
small farm loans in the bank s assessment area(s). The general standard is that 80% in number and
dollar amount of a bank s loans should be in its assessment area(s). This number is not a regulatory
requirement; it is more of an industry best practice. If the number is less than that, the bank has
probably been too restrictive in defining its assessment area. Geographic distribution: The geographic
distribution of a bank s mortgage, small business, small farm, and consumer loans including: o The
proportion of lending in the bank s assessment area(s); o The dispersion of loans across the bank s
assessment area(s); and o The number and amount of loans in low , moderate , middle , and upper
income areas in the bank s assessment area(s). Borrower characteristics: The demographics of the
bank s borrower s including: o Mortgage loans to low , moderate , middle , and upper income
individuals; o Small business and small farm loans to small businesses and small farms

Galactic Thieves Short Story
Galactic Thieves
When I was a boy I always thought I was different. I thought I was meant for greatness and I was
going to change the world. Come on Chris we got a job to do , Jacob said I put my journal down and
got my gear on. The galactic thieves and I jump out of our ship and rocketed into planet X 9. Yes, it is
true that I am different but I am not doing anything great. As we plunged into the Castro sea we
watched the ship take off. When we washed up on shore we saw the building that our job was taking
place at. We went over the plan one last time and it seemed easy enough. We were heisting a very
special star called sinister. This star could be used in many wrong ways if put in the wrong hands.
As I sat there in there in the getaway car watching the cameras making sure the live feed didn t come
back on a bunch of cars pulled into the garage. While I watched them bag the star I saw a guard
coming. As he got closer and closer I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that Carlos left in the cell next to mine when he was fixing it last time we had a leak.
After a couple of hours of figuring out how to use these strange tools I finally loosened the bolts of the
bars. As soon as I went to kick open the cage door I heard the doors down the hallway slide open. I
quickly threw the tools under a blanket that was in the corner of the room and sat up against the wall
and watched him look at me. He asked me a few questions that I really didn t understand but there was
one question he asked that made me feel relief. He asked me, Where is Jake and Carlos ? This had to

Inky, I think we ve lost our way. Sheldon the Sea Crab scratched his spiky head with his front claw.
We ve wandered out too far; I don t know where we are. Inky the Octopus frowned. He looked out

right; nothing looked familiar. How would they find their way back to Hawke s Bay? Inky closed his
eyes and thought as hard as he could. And then it hit him! We turn at the sunken ship! Inky exclaimed.

Child Beauty Pageants Argumentative Essay
One of the biggest issues related to beauty pageants is engaging children, especially young girls,
taking part in these activities. America has about three million young girls between the ages of 6
months and 16 years taking part in beauty contests. Many people argue whether or not children should
be participating in these pageants. The participants and their parents are obviously all for these
children beauty pageants. However, there are many people against the idea. The people that believe
that it is okay for young girls to be a part of children s beauty pageants see them as the young girls
showing off their beauty. However, are they really showing off their beauty by walking down a
runway with big, sparkly dresses and caked on makeup? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In her journal, Protecting Pageant Princesses: A Call for Statutory Regulation of Child Beauty
Pageants, Lindsey Lieberman recalls Brooke Breedwell, a childhood pageant contestant. As a girl, she
suffered from stress and anxiety while striving for an unrealistic standard of perfection. As a child, not
later in life, she suffered from stress and anxiety because of beauty pageants. Lieberman also speaks
about the later effects on Breedwell s life, saying, Her mother s ambition, coupled with her own
obsessive drive to win, resulted in severe social and psychological consequences. It s not just the
pageants or the other contestants that contribute to the stress, it s also the parents. The parents have a
tendency to get more competitive than their kids in these contests. They push their children to their
limits and to prove what exactly? Is this simply an opportunity for the parents to relive their own
youth through their child; or maybe a means to feel like winners themselves through the hard work
and devotion they have put in? Lieberman states that as a result, little girls who participate are prone
to persistent lifetime challenges, including body shame, perfectionism, depression and eating
disorders. Many people, after their life in pageants, suffer from low self esteem, anxiety, depression,
and eating disorders. Despite all

Colin Kaepernick s Views On Racism
Try This 2.3 I am using the same blog I did in the previous assignment. It is about Colin Kaepernick, a
quarterback for the 49ers, not standing during the national anthem. He refused to stand. During the
interview that night this is the statement he made. Passage I chose: I am not going to stand up to show
pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than
football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and
people getting paid leave and getting away with murder. ... This is not something that I am going to
run by anybody. I am not looking for approval. I have to stand up for people that are oppressed. ... If
they take football away, my endorsements from me, I know that I stood up for what is right, said Colin
Kaepernick during his interview. This puzzled me. I was angry, just like a lot of other americans, that
Kaepernick would disrespect our country like that. Even though there are problems in our country
today, this isn t how you address it. Racism has been in our country since the founding fathers have
stepped foot on american soil. Its a sad the way white american have treated black, or other color
people, in the past and present. It something that has died down in the last ... Show more content on

you don t do anything wrong, you should have know problem with them. In a perfect world and

Greco-Christian Beliefs Of Christianity And The Gospel Of...
The Greek Alexander Romance describes the life of Alexander the Great, focusing primarily on his
great military feats as a leader of Greece and highlighting why he is remembered as a great Greco
Roman leader. Similarly, the Gospel of Matthew explains the life of Jesus Christ through his teachings
and miracles, which underline why he is known as the greatest figure from Judeo Christian culture.
Alexander and Jesus easily compare because they died in their early thirties, were known as kings, and
are remembered for impressive triumphs while on earth. Alexander sought to build his empire and
essentially rule the world through victories on the battlefield and the conquering of neighboring
countries. Jesus sought to destroy evil on earth by establishing God s Kingdom and teachings in the
hearts of all. Comparing the lives of these great Greco Roman and Judeo Christian leaders highlight
the differences in cultural opinion on the highest good in life, how one obtains that good, and what
that means in connection to an afterlife. Judeo Christian and Greco Roman perspectives on elements
of a meaningful life contrast in the sense that Judeo Christian actions to pursue these elements are
motivated by the desire for everlasting life in heaven, while Greco Roman actions are motivated by
the desire for perpetual fame on earth after one dies.
Both Alexander the Great and Jesus Christ establish relationships with their communities in order to
obtain their respective highest good in life. In an effort to bring salvation for all, Jesus tried to lead
everyone on earth on the path towards the kingdom of heaven. In the beginning of the Gospel of
Matthew, God says that Jesus will, save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). The idea of
salvation is repeated later when Jesus himself announces, He who endures to the end will be saved
suggesting that whoever follows his guidance on redemption will be able to go to heaven (Matthew
10:22). On the other hand in The Greek Alexander Romance, Alexander seeks to obtain the highest
good of power by uniting surrounding empires under his rule and becoming the ruler of the world
(66). In an effort to build unity and trust in him, he fought alongside his men on the front line in battle.

The Pros And Cons Of Gentrification
Everyday buildings and shops seem to be coming to a rust and becoming of age. There is a process in
which it gives the neighborhood or streets a fresh new sense to the community. In doing this brings in
a variety of different people from different customs and making the community more diverse. This
process is called gentrification which is urban change, particularly, the transformation of a low income
or economically depressed area of a city into a higher income more economically prosperous.
Gentrification is not tied to race and ethnicity but social class. Although it seems like all negatives to
the community because they have lost their childhood store or restaurant, there are positives to
gentrification. Gentrification is beneficial to our community because of the displacement of not only
the buildings but of the people, urban renewal, and property value. During gentrification there are
certain displacements that improve and benefit our community as a whole. The displacement of people
coming from all different races and culture increasing the diversity in the communities and not only
create a diversity but also benefits the citizens around that community. Although some people believe
the increase of diversity is a negative and will cause harm, studies found no evidence of displacement
or harm ( Buntin). In 2010, a university examined gentrification across the nation as whole and they
saw that when african americans are living with a more diverse community (with whites

Debate proceeds with today over the DC 10 s security as a result of the 1989 accident of United

mischance was a metallurgical blemish in the fan gathering of the back motor. A split in the 370 pound

  • 2. Descriptive Essay About My First Plane As I scanned my boarding pass and walked down the tunnel hallway that led to the airplane, my heart began to beat a little faster in my chest and my hands got clammy. I had never been outside of the country before! After boarding the airplane, I sat down in my seat next to my dad, so ecstatic to finally be on my way to Peru for my first mission trip! With the seat belt fastened snugly across my hips and the cool air from the vents comfortably blowing on my face, I peered out the window as the plane took off, my excitement growing as we rose up past the clouds into the clear blue sky. Although it felt like any other normal flight, somehow I knew this one would be different. Shortly after we took off and reached a higher elevation, I put my tray table down in preparation for the meal and drinks that were being served by the flight attendants. Rolling their food and drink carts in front of them, the flight attendants slowly made their way down the aisle. Finally, they reached my row and I received my first international flight meal mozzarella cheese, basil, and tomato sandwich, a square of cheesecake, and a small chocolate. As I was unwrapping my sandwich and getting ready to enjoy my meal, totally captivated by the newness and the excitement of it all, the plane suddenly experienced some unexpected turbulence. Nothing crazy at first, only a couple bumps that caused me to hold on to the arm rests and grow a little nervous. But then it happened! We dropped. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Information Processing Model ( Woolfolk And Margetts... Briefly, describe a past academic (school or tertiary) learning experience that you found difficult. With specific reference to the relevant elements of the Information Processing Model (as described in lecture and in Woolfolk and Margetts 2016), explain why you found the learning situation difficult. What strategies, drawn from the readings and lecture, would you now put in place to improve such a situation if you faced it again in the future. This essay will briefly describe a past academic learning experience that I found difficult. I will use elements of the Information Processing Model (Woolfolk Margetts, 2016) to help explain why the difficulties occurred and to uncover different strategies that could be put in place if ever I was to face this, and other situations again. The past learning experience that I found difficult was a speech assignment at high school when I was 14 years old. It wasn t just the presenting but the process of researching and having to write a 30 minute speech for an internal English assignment. I found it hard and it ended with me failing. Our five senses are constantly being battered by new sights, sounds and smells from the environment. For us to make appreciate these senses, there is an initial process that transforms these new sensations or information it s called sensory memory (Woolfolk Margetts 2016). I would describe it as a temporary holding cell that stores new sensations to allow processing to take place. In relation to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Emerald Isle Research Paper The Emerald Isle evokes a vision of lush green hills, misty mountains, the scent of fresh spring air, and breathtaking sea cliffs. It is a land of rich traditions and a people known for hospitality. If I could choose to visit anywhere in the world it would have to be Ireland. This emerald Isle beckons me because of its diverse natural beauty and Irish culture. Geography and Climate Ireland is an island located off the northwestern coastline of continental Europe and is west of the United Kingdom. It is boarded by the Irish Sea, Atlantic Ocean, and St. George s Channel. Its absolute location is 53.4129 degrees N 8.2439 degrees W. The independent country of Northern Ireland is located in the islands northeast corner. Ireland s central ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Much of the calendar still reflects the old pagan customs, with later Christian traditions also having significant influence. In Ireland, Christmas has multiple traditions and some aren t connected to Christianity in any way at all, but reflect even older cultural and religious practices. To many of the Irish, St Stephen is believed to be the first Christian martyr. Around the year 33 CE he was stoned to death. He was hiding from his enemies when a wren gave him away. Another legend has it that Vikings raided Ireland on St Stephen s day. Soldiers were moving in toward the Viking camp to drive them out, but a wren started eating crumbs from a drum and alerted the Vikings of the presence of the Irish soldiers. Some people believed that it was the wrens that betrayed them and should be stoned to death, just as St Stephen was. Boys would go out hunting for wren and throwing stones at them. They also would tie the dead bird to a stick and parade around with it. They did this in attempt to get money so the entire village could celebrate. Though the tradition of killing wrens on Stephen s day died out in the 1900 s, St Stephen s Day is still known as the Day of the Wren, mainly in rural areas. St Stephen s Day has been a holiday in Ireland for hundreds of years. It became a public holiday following the Bank Holidays Act ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Thomas Cole and The Hudson School of Romantic Landscape The first American group of painters, The Hudson School of Romantic Landscapes, was lead by Thomas Cole, who was born in 1801 in England. He went to Philadelphia and Ohio as a traveling portrait painter in 1819. In addition, he traveled to Europe where he painted many Italian subjects, and later many of the scenes in his paintings came from his European studies. He died in 1848 at the age of 47. Cole s artwork represents the Romantic style of painting, especially in his famous work The Oxbow (Fulwider 618). In the life and time around Thomas Cole, three things stand out. The major themes in Cole s artwork, what was romantic about the Hudson River School s art, and why landscape was a national religious symbol for Americans. A self taught artist, who lived on a bluff overlooking the Hudson River, he was an outdoor enthusiast. He would hike throughout the area in summer, fall, and spring, sketching the gorgeous scenes. In the winter, when his memory of specific settings faded, he would paint the crucial mood of a place with oil paints. Reflecting his working method, his finished work was a mixture of ideal and real. He blurred the distant vistas and painted the foreground in painstaking detail, which suggested the infinite American landscape. His work illustrated the proud belief that America was a fresh beginning for humanity; a primeval paradise (Strickland and Boswell 81). In addition, Cole inspired a group of painters that eventually became known as the Hudson River ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Benefits During Middle Childhood During middle childhood, being a good parent requires the ability to adjust to your child s fluctuating needs with as little conflict as possible (Eccles, 1999, p. 40). Children at this age are looking to gain independence while still needing the stability of home (Eccles, 1999, p. 40). Because of this, if a parent is trying to be their child s friend, there may not be a positive outcome for the parent or the child. Being a child s friend puts you emotionally on the same level with them; however, during middle childhood a child benefits from knowing that there is an adult who loves them, that can handle the tough times and decisions in life, can give them instruction, and can set clear rules (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], ... • 7. Geology s Control of the Coastal Features in the Swanage Area Geology s Control of the Coastal Features in the Swanage Area Geology can have a great affect on many coastal features. This is because the lithology or structure of the rocks may affect the coastal landforms, and the different processes occurring may also affect the way the landforms turn out. Starting with the Swanage area it can be seen that the area of Swanage is an Atlantic coast. This means that there are bands of hard and soft rock in the coast and therefore due to rocks of different hardness, the rocks erode at different rates and so you get distinct landforms. At Swanage the main types of rocks are Wealden clay, Purbeck (limestone) and Portland stone. Below is a basic map of the area ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Studland Bay there s a beach and the reason for this is that it has retreated about 2km (maximum) from the original cliff line and so this means that incoming waves have longer to travel till they reach the cliff and since the shoreline gets shallower it means tat the waves start to loose a lot more energy and so they deposit whatever load they are carrying, which causes the formation of the first type of landform the beach. The Foreland is made up of chalk. Chalk is fairly resistant and is defiantly a lot more resistant than the clay and sands, with which it s surrounded by. This make the Foreland very resistant and so the sea can t erode it that much and so its left as a headland. However, some erosion has occurred, evidence for this is Old Harry and the Pinnacles, which can only be formed due to erosion. This erosion could be due to the fact that on either side of the headland are two bays or so this means that due to wave refraction wave energy is focused onto the headland causing it to erode. Another distinct thing about the landform of the Foreland is that it has a slanted shape, instead of just sticking out. This is shown below: [IMAGE] From the simplified diagram above it can be seen that the main wind comes from the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Legal tender is a average of wage recognized by a legal rule to be authentic for accomplishing a financial duty. Paper currency and coins are common forms of legal tender in many countries. The government does not let up on the debt responsibility until payment is enlisted. Why do prices change and why does the Fed aim for a 2% inflation rate? Prices change because of the economy. Inflation is represented as a rise in the general price level. For example, prices of many goods and services such as housing, apparel, food, transportation, and fuel must be increasing in order for inflation to occur in the overall economy. If prices of just a few types of goods or services are growing, there isn t necessarily inflation. Demand Pull Inflation and Cost Push In cause an increase in the overall price level within an economy. • 10. Nile Kinnnick Research Paper Although 8,398 Iowans died during World War II, the death of the University of Iowa s only Heisman Trophy winner shook the state like no other wartime tragedy. Although College Football ranked him as the ninth greatest college football player of all time, Nile Kinnick is perhaps best remembered, as Charles Bullard summed up in The Des Moines Register, for his strength of character and his sacrifice to his country (Lidd). Nile Kinnick was born on July 9, 1918 in Adel, Iowa, the grandson of a governor. He attended the University of Iowa after failing a football tryout at Minnesota. At Iowa, Kinnick became the team s main passer. Kinnick played halfback and during his senior year, played 402 minutes (of a possible 420) and was directly involved in 107 of Iowa s 130 points that season (Flatter). • 11. The Death Of The Western World If she felt any misgiving, my presence would prevent it from being too late, even at the supposed last moment... But her look of reply was quite sufficient; she had not come without counting the cost. Her belief in the Pythagorean doctrine of transmigration was firm and fixed; and she looked forward, without a doubt, to secure for herself and her husband, by this sacrifice, a new life of happier existence, and more refined enjoyments than the sordid realities which the world now offered... This quote, recorded by Richard Hartley Kennedy, a 19th century British surgeon living in British India exemplifies the almost macabre fascination with the Hindu rite of widow burning known as Sati that the Western World has developed over the course of the last several hundred years. Perhaps, this morbid obsession originated with the Western World seeing in Sati a Romeo and Juliette like expression of true love. Subsequently, the West s fascination can perhaps be credited to the ensuing human rights controversy that this rite has generated over the course of the past two hundred years. Regardless as to the reason of why the West has taken an interest in this rite, I will attempt in this paper to decipher and interpret this ritual mostly through the lens of a Western philosopher of religion, Mircea Eliade. Eliade, in his work The Sacred and The Profane: The Nature of Religion, postulates that for modern men to truly understand religion, they must remove themselves from contemporary ... • 12. Food Digestion Research Paper Digestion begins when one sees food. Upon seeing food the brain sends signals for the salivary glands to release saliva. When food is first placed into the mouth by taking a bite it is masticated and broken down to increase the surface area so that food can be digested faster, as well as allowing it to be swallowed. While being masticated food is moistened with saliva, which contains Amylase, which begins the process of breaking down carbohydrates. Once thoroughly chewed saliva forms the food into a clump, which is called a bolus. Once food is chewed and formed into a bolus the tongue pushes the food to the back of the mouth into the throat so that it can be swallowed. The bile that is released is produced by the liver, which then fills the bile duct before overflowing and then being stored in the gallbladder, which then allows it into the duodenum through a duct. In between meals the gallbladder absorbs water and electrolytes from the bile. The bile that is released is used to emulsify fats, which is to make the fats separate into small droplets. This allows them to be mixed with water and then acted upon by enzymes to further help their digestion. It is easier for the lipids to be broken down once they are emulsified because they are smaller and the lipase can attack it more completely. Bile itself is a green colored fluid that is made of minerals, cholesterol, neutral fats, phospholipids, bile acids also called bile salts, and bile pigments. Bilirubin is what gives the color to the bile, and it is produced from the decomposition of hemoglobin as previously stated. Bile acids are steroids that are formed from cholesterol. Both bile acid and lecithin, which is a phospholipid, help digest and absorb fats. Anything else that is in bile is waste that will be excreted. In the end however around eighty percent of the bile acids are reabsorbed in the ileum, which is the last section of the small intestine, and they are returned to the liver where they are absorbed and re secreted by hepatocytes. The monuments make for stunning backgrounds in modern cinematography while the history and character of the city add meaning and symbolism to a number of works and the works, in turn, contribute to the reputation of London. In Oscar Wilde s The Picture of Dorian Gray, Dorian is a beautiful young man with an increasingly corrupted soul as he is seduced by the city. The story of his decay takes place in two famous parts of London the West End, known for its wealth and opulence and the East End, better known for its poverty and opium. The two sides of the city mirror the two sides of Dorian himself, his split personality giving the two sides of London their reputations. Dorian kills his old friend in his home, a hint that the East End has not only corrupted Dorian, but now led to bloodshed in the previously pure West End. The glamour has been poisoned by the vileness and the loveliness of London destroyed by indecent acts, as Dorian s portrait has been altered with each sin. The stereotype already established of the West End as pristine and perfect is ruined in this scene. The drugs, violence, and overall wickedness had previously been contained but spilling over into the West End, London as a whole appears wicked and immoral. The purpose of this paper is to explore the organizational structure and leadership style of Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC), identify its culture, mission, values and goals. The complex adaptive system, level of greatness and readiness for change will also be addressed. Complex Adaptive System Currently, the complexity of the adaptive system of the healthcare organizational structure remains convoluted due to the opposition to change, the fear of the unknown and the acceptance of unpredictability. • 18. Life Is Beautiful Film Analysis Life is Beautiful Movie Analysis Life is Beautiful, directed by Italian director Roberto Benigni, released in 1997, is a film about love, war and death. Set just before and during WWII, the main character, Guido falls in love with the woman of his dreams, they have a child but they get separated by the horrors of the war. Guido and his little son strive to get reunited with his wife but their internment in a Nazi concentration camp halts him from doing so. Nevertheless, he slyly keeps in contact with his wife so she knows they are safe and well. Roberto Benigni uses cinematic techniques such as music, costume and lighting to convey the strong theme of love between two characters in the film Life is Beautiful. In Life is Beautiful, the love between two people is a recurring theme. The music, composed by Italian light classical composer Nicola Piovani, is one of the major factors that helps successfully convey this theme to the audience. In the film, the same upbeat tune is used for many of the romantic scenes between Guido and Dora. This tune, in a more subtle tone, is the theme song for the film, and when it is repeated for the romantic themes it gives a powerful sense of love. For example, when Dora falls out of that farm house, and Guido catches her, the music is used for the first time in a romantic setting. The same music is then repeated in the scene at the 11 minute mark when Guido falls off his bike into Dora and they both fall over into a big pile of sand. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Character Of Simon As An Allegory Of Jesus Christ The character of Simon, from the novel Lord of the Flies , is often viewed as an allegory of Jesus Christ, which is highly important, as Simon plays a significant role through the novel. Simon and Christ do not only share natural, unconditional kindness, there are many parallels to be drawn with Simon s and Jesus lives. Many would argue that the following arguments discussed are more than just a coincidence, and that Golding intended and/or based Simon on Christ. Firstly, a main reason why it can be interpreted that Simon is an allegory of Christ, is their role that they both had society which can be described as controversial and tendentious; essentially, they are both viewed as outcasts. This can be shown when he said: Maybe, he said hesitantly, maybe there is a beast [...] What I mean is . . . maybe it s only us [...] We could sort of . . . . This tells us that the concept of the beast being an illusion of fear, is a very taboo and a neglected concept on the island. Moreover, the repetition of the word maybe and the use of could , indicates that Simon is very precarious with his wording and does not want to Ralph to think of him as batty , as referenced numerous times through the novel. Therefore, it could be argued that maybe and could connotes open mindedness, and willingness to express ideas peacefully, not by force, because those words sound very open and free to interpretation. The Vietnam War had an impact on the American people, since it was the first war to ever be broadcasted on television. The country was able to see what was happening on the battleground. This war would have lasting effects on the United States and the nation it divided. The Vietnam war started way before America became involved (1955 1975). Indochina, which included Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, were all under French colonial rule. The Vietnam communist nationalist, Vietminh, fought for freedom from the French. The United States sent resources to France to help them defeat the communist risk. In 1961, when John F. Kennedy was inaugurated, the Vietnam war was not a substantial issue. However, Vice President Johnson was sent to Vietnam. Upon his return, he urged Kennedy to grab hold of the conflict. Kennedy decided to send special forces instead of sending combat troops. • 33. Greco-Christian Beliefs Of Christianity And The Gospel Of... The Greek Alexander Romance describes the life of Alexander the Great, focusing primarily on his great military feats as a leader of Greece and highlighting why he is remembered as a great Greco Roman leader. Similarly, the Gospel of Matthew explains the life of Jesus Christ through his teachings and miracles, which underline why he is known as the greatest figure from Judeo Christian culture. Alexander and Jesus easily compare because they died in their early thirties, were known as kings, and are remembered for impressive triumphs while on earth. Alexander sought to build his empire and essentially rule the world through victories on the battlefield and the conquering of neighboring countries. Jesus sought to destroy evil on earth by establishing God s Kingdom and teachings in the hearts of all. Comparing the lives of these great Greco Roman and Judeo Christian leaders highlight the differences in cultural opinion on the highest good in life, how one obtains that good, and what that means in connection to an afterlife. Judeo Christian and Greco Roman perspectives on elements of a meaningful life contrast in the sense that Judeo Christian actions to pursue these elements are motivated by the desire for everlasting life in heaven, while Greco Roman actions are motivated by the desire for perpetual fame on earth after one dies. Both Alexander the Great and Jesus Christ establish relationships with their communities in order to obtain their respective highest good in life. In an effort to bring salvation for all, Jesus tried to lead everyone on earth on the path towards the kingdom of heaven. In the beginning of the Gospel of Matthew, God says that Jesus will, save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). The idea of salvation is repeated later when Jesus himself announces, He who endures to the end will be saved suggesting that whoever follows his guidance on redemption will be able to go to heaven (Matthew 10:22). On the other hand in The Greek Alexander Romance, Alexander seeks to obtain the highest good of power by uniting surrounding empires under his rule and becoming the ruler of the world (66).
