Values Of The Game, By Bill Bradley
Schema To reiterate, Bill Bradley s Virtues of leadership, resilience, and passion are what account
most for his legacy as a citizen. According to Bill Bradley, author of Values of the Game he discusses
leadership and what it means to him. Leadership means getting people to think, believe, see, and do
what they might not have to do without anyone being present while they are doing that particular
thing. What he means by this is being able to see yourself set goal and being able to accomplish it on
their own behalf; being cautious of their surroundings led by fears and anxiety created by those who
are leading them to where they need to be, in order for you to do that you must overcome that anxiety
and your fears.(103) On the other hand, according to the Bulls Phil Jackson, leadership for coaches
meant getting their players to commit to something that is bigger themselves.(103)According to Bill
Bradley, found on SuccessTelevision.biz showed leadership in many ways on the basketball court, 18
years as Senate, and when he helped 13 million children from poverty, expanded opportunities for
others to receive an education, and helped lower taxes for everyone in America (Bill Bradley,Success

from 10 Professional Coaches Theory to Practice Bill Bradley chose to wait for a good time to become
an active leader.(246) When Bill Bradley came to the Knicks, he did not get

Technology In Aeolus
The subject matter of Eric D. Smith s essay is the examination of the recording of Aeolus in relation to
Platonic and post Heideggerian concepts of technology. He suggests that Ulysses self consciously
highlights how the ways of authority and modern technology are divided in a manner that both
anticipates and clears Derrida s response to Heidegger and Plato. The key to understand Joyce s
motivations for his decision to record is acquiring an understanding of Joyce s relationship to the
question of modern technology in general. More specifically, Smith searches for answers to questions
such as Why use Aeolus ? , What is the connection between the concept of modern technology and
Joyce s incorporation of fragmentation of authority as a central ... Show more content on

There is a realization that human memory is itself a technology. Memories are not a product of an
original moment but rather a complex network of mnemotechnic reproductions in which each element
authorizes the recollection. Aeolus represents the technological as indistinguishable from the natural.
In the article Smith states: As technology gradually replaces the human the privileged role of author
becomes less and less necessary and more difficult to fix. (464) Yet one can ask himself whether we,
then, don t give too much credit to technology or machines while we actually should admire the
human inventor? The irony of selecting a recorder to authorize is itself an imperfect recreation of a
recreation of a speech even that can never be legitimately authorized.

In the film Her , directed by Spike Jonze, the main protagonist,Theodore Twombly conveys the idea of
alienation via technology and its possible effects, due to his depression via his divorce and his easy
going relationship with an artificial intelligence operating system named Samantha. The idea of
alienation and technology and its possible effects on human relationships is conveyed via the quote,
Sometimes I think I have felt everything I m ever gonna feel. And from here on out, I m not gonna feel
anything new. Just lesser versions of what I ve already felt. Theodore recently experienced is his

Multicultural Resetting
In order to develop a deeper sense of awareness about the challenges of working with children within
a multicultural resetting, and also to further develop my inclusive research, choosing a methodology
was an essential step together with understanding different criteria for the assessment of educational
research as discussed in Teaching and Learning Research Briefing , no 80, 2009. But before deciding
on a methodology for this project, it is important to mention that the scope of my investigation is not
finding a solution to a problem, but rather learning about potential issues related to working with
children in a multicultural nursery setting, and problematise the diversity and inclusion aspects
derived from this using critical thinking and academic research methodology. The process of research
required an approach to interviewing, mainly the necessity to plan and conduct a narrative interview,
which can be defined by an interaction or dialogue with one or more individuals in order to build a
narration of their lives within a certain environment. (Soler, 2013) A narrative based methodology in
the form of conducting interviews to research diversity and inclusion have been successfully used for
different levels of research and key studies (Nutbrown and Clough, 2006). ... Show more content on

Descriptive Essay On The Blue Ridge Mountains
It was finally time to take off. I had anticipated this trip south for several weeks. Now the last item
was packed in the RV and we were ready to hit the road. One of the things I enjoy most is getting off
the beaten path and traveling the backroads. And, we were going to be able to do that on most of this
trip. Part of the advantages of traveling the backroads is being able to take in some fantastic views of
this country s landscape, slowing down our pace enough to enjoy all the simple pleasures along the
way, and specifically on this trip, enjoying that native southern hospitality.
No matter how many times I see them, my heart always perks up when I first see those Blue Ridge
mountains. And, it is always an inspirational sight to behold when you see that mist rising in the
Smoky Mountains. However, I am just as awe struck by the magnificent views as you wind through
the Nantahala in North Carolina. Beautiful rapids and waterfalls are throughout this National Forest
also. It is spectacular!
As we made our way further south, crossing over in to Georgia, we were greeted by droves of cars
parked along the sides of the roads. People were enjoying the simple pleasure of whitewater rafting.
However, when you are the one pulling a 35 ft RV maneuvering through those hair pin turns, trying to
avoid the cars on both sides of the road, it doesn t seem like a pleasure; at least for the moment. Then,
in the middle of dodging the cars on the side of the road, a van stopped right in front of us. No
kidding, the van stopped in the middle of the lane on a blind curve to let their little boy go to the
bathroom. However, as you can well image, there are no bathrooms! Seriously, traffic came to a
complete halt in the Chattahoochee River National Park. We had to shake our head and laugh at that
one, thankful that no one got hurt! It is at times like this you have to laugh and say, traveling the
backroads is also an adventure!
After that it was smooth sailing. We finished out the last part of our trip driving through a beautiful
little college town. The picturesque setting of Young Harris is what I love about traveling the
backroads. It takes longer but you gain a glimpse of small town living. And then we pulled into

Healthcare Regulation Of The Pharmaceutical Industry
Healthcare Regulation The pharmaceutical industry is one of the most heavily regulated of all
industries and Pfizer is a global US based pharmaceutical company and in the pharmaceutical industry
companies are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), World Health Organization
(WHO), and Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Each of these
regulatory bodies focus on the manufacturer, drug sellers, and prescribing to physicians process.
(World Health Organization). In accordance to the Internal Revenue Service, the US firms must meet
government regulatory requirements. The drug company must get market approval and show it safe
for human consumption through animal and human testing and prove it is effective for the illness and
its intentions to alleviate. The scientific community established a four phase method to establish
effectiveness. First phase is animal and toxicity studies, second phase is the investigational new drug
application filed to test small numbers of human and allow transportation of unapproved drugs.
Thirdly, a large scale trials conducted with thousands of patients proves the product is effective against
a specific disease. Human trial subjects must provide consent for the experimental group. Lastly, a
post approval marketing testing which are conducted to generate marketing data for the competitive
market (involves competitor products) (Internal Revenue Service, 2015) These measures must be in

Black Corona White Potential Imagination Summary
Black Corona and the article White Spatial Imagination both touch upon how real estates agents
favored lending and financing white families because black communities were a poor lending risk .
Another tactic that the white community often use was violence, because they viewed the idea of
black homeowners as a target on their own financial stability, as it would lead to property value
decrease, they employed violent tactics in order to ensure the physical separation of the black bodies
and to showcase Black people inferiority. Although they were no longer slaves they were treated
terribly to the point where they were constantly being segregated because of the melanin of their
skin.when the whites moved the factories out of the cities and whites ... Show more content on

Once again, because there were black bodies who were considered immoral, the government did not
give them as much resources as they would have had they been white. Due to such racial policies and
the decline of home property value in areas where black families resided in, the education children
received was not as invested in as in white schools. The infrastructure was run down and black
children had to take a bus to get to schools, whereas on the school that hosted the white children had
much nicer infrastructure thus making learning a more enjoyable experience. By giving students of
color such bad education it makes it that much harder to find careers in the future. Students who were
not given an adequate education because of the way the schools were funded became parents, who had
to work labor jobs in order to make ends meet, and once again their children would be left learning at
inadequate schools. Many neighborhoods that populate a majority of either black or latino students
have negative policies that ultimately serve these youths as a sacrifice from being students to prisoners
through the school and through prison pipelines. Essentially, when you grow up in poverty and you
see that no matter how much you try to succeed and integrate yourself into the education system, the
fact that a child isn t invested in based on merit,

INEZ BEVERLY PROSSER

Professor Sara Molloy
Abstract
Inez Beverly Prosser (1895 1934), was an African American psychologist of the early twentieth
century. Her main focus was on the significance of racism and its effects upon children relative to the
obtainment of fair and adequate education. This writing will address the endeavors, perspectives, and
accomplishments of this significant yet vastly under recognized African American female
psychologist. A psychologist who led us on a journey through her perspectives as seen through the

This theory focuses on the potential of an individual and the importance of self actualization. As an
educator, Prosser felt that Caucasian teachers within the institutions of the south were not equipped,
from a psychological perspective of the black culture to adequately teach African American students.
Prosser felt that the Caucasian educators could not relate to those students in the same manner as an
educator of the same race. Prosser set out to bring attention to the significance of her view by creating,
The Comparative Reliability of Objective Tests in English Grammar. The design of this study was
meant to demonstrate that the English grammar tests that were being administered at that time were
unreliable because they did not take into consideration the background or culture of the African
American students. During her tenure, Prosser conducted an extensive study to prove this point. In her
reason given for choosing Cincinnati for her research, this was made clear by her following statement,
(1) to measure vocational interests, leisure interests, play interests, social participation, emotional or
neurotic tendencies, social distance, ascendancy submission, overstatement, introversion extraversion,
and general personality adjustment. . . , (2) to ascertain the difference, if any, that exists in these traits,
and (3) to determine whether one or the other of these schools is better fostering growth in personality

Reality and the Movie The Truman Show Essay example
The reality of the world and the truth of it is questioned everyday, especially when something goes
wrong. This is shown in the Truman show, when Truman finally starts to question the reality of the
world and the truth of the people that surrounds him. So we need to ask to following questions to
understand what the film is essentially about. Firstly, do we agree with the statement We accept the
reality of the world which we are presented? Secondly, what messages is the director trying to give us
about modern society? Last of all, explain the part which the media plays in this and power and
control it has over individuals? In this essay, I will discuss human nature, our controlling society and

I believe that after the preschooler stage and before the teenager stage, this is true usually. Although
before and after that stage, it isn t true generally, just Truman s lasted a little while longer. So how
does questioning to truth relate to modern society?
The director (Peter Weir) has many views about modern day society that he is trying to convey in The
Truman Show though two were stand outs. The first will focus on is that we will never have the whole
truth. It is impossible because of the amount of people that lie and bring deceit. Also, the world and
media tries the hide things from us that degrade the higher society or itself in our eyes. It might cause
a backlash like from the people, like in The Truman show when Christof said Listen to me, Truman.
There s no more truth out there than there is in the world that I created for you. Same lies. The same
deceit. But in my world, you have nothing to fear. I know you better than you know yourself.
Subsequently, when Truman said You never had a camera in my head. From these two quotes show
that you can t know everything about a person just buy watching them their whole life. So in turn,
means that not the whole truth can be found. Also that Christof is trying to protect him from the real
world, which is like and example of the higher grade society or media trying to hide people from the
truth or show it in such a way that reverses the

Internet And The Internet Essay
Since the late 1960s and early 1970s, computer scientists have improved the accessibility of the
internet to all people. Technology has continuously improved through the introduction of computer
programming and coding and the use of cellular devices. Today, anyone can have access to internet
through the various forms of technology such as cell phones, computers, laptops, tablets, smart
watches, etc. Over the past 15 years, the internet has begun to incorporate itself into education by
allowing students to perform research more efficiently and have more interactive learning through the
use of educational websites, Smart Boards, etc. Accordingly, not only has the internet greatly impacted
education making it more interesting, but it has also impacted domestic lives. Parents now have an
easier way for their children to learn online at earlier ages through educational websites and online
learning programs, such as Starfall and ABCMouse. Children, from ages as young as three years old to
teenagers, have learned to operate the internet. Although children have developed this knowledge,
consequently, many have failed to learn the repercussions of their actions when inappropriately using
the internet. One of the most common repercussions one can often face is bullying through the
internet, entitled as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is defined as verbally harming an individual or
group by anonymously or non anonymously posting harmful information through the internet. The

Andy Warhol s Telephone
To complete my project I decided to visit the museum of contemporary art. The piece I m going to
focus on is Andy Warhol s Telephone, which was painted in 1961. I had already chosen to do my essay
on this piece because I d been interested in Warhol and his overarching themes of consumerism and
product idolization in America. Although this piece isn t blatantly judging America and its
materialistic mentality, I like the commentary he was attempting to make about traditional and modern
forms of art. Upon first seeing this piece I was taken aback by its size. I d seen a photo of the work on
MOCA s website, but to see it in person truly was a different experience. When I began to really look
at it, I noticed how clean cut all the lines were and made the assumption that Warhol had used silk
screening as he did in many of his pieces. However, when I read the description on the side and found
out he hand painted it I was extremely surprised. There aren t any visible brush strokes, the lines are
clean and the colors look so solid. Instead of depicting a modern telephone of his time he illustrated
one that could be decades old. This is a painting that because of its subject material and creation
method, could ve been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

back to Warhol s constant attempts to make his audience believe that his work meant less than it really
did. He was hiding the meaning by making it look like his other pieces in that aspect. Just another
piece to be visually consumed by his audience. It wasn t meant to be analyzed, only enjoyed. This also
thought this could mean that even if a piece of art is hand drawn people don t appreciate that form of
art as much as they used to. Art is art and the method is no longer a tool for judging value or artistic
ability, so conspicuously displaying the techniques he used was an unnecessary waste of

The Most Memorable Place Of The World
The United States Navy often takes me to various and unique locations of the world. I ve sailed
throughout the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, Persian Gulf, Indian Ocean, and Pacific Ocean. I
ve stepped foot in Rome, the Middle East, various tropical islands, and my favorite region Southeast
Asia. To be more specific, one of the most memorable places I ve visited was when my third ship hit
port in Thailand. During one such occasion, I was wandering the streets of Pattaya late at night with
my friends. We noticed there was a crowd congregating around a rickety boxing ring in the middle of
a bar. Around the ring, there were bets being placed. In the old wooden seats, there were men drinking

This was not a move of cowardice, as I could tell neither of the fighters was intimidated by the other.
They had trained for most of their young lives and they were not afraid of anything or anyone. To
them this was just another fight. After they were done figuring each other out, the fight quickly picked
up the pace. The fighters came forward and threw punches and kicks to each other s head and body.
Both kids were putting on a good show and I could tell they were fighting for real. Even though they
were giving it their all, I could sense they loved fighting and there was no place they would rather be.
In each of the corners of the ring, the boys team of trainers and family members was screaming
instructions and words of encouragement. The crowd had also begun to cheer and chant, excited by
the back and forth volley of fists and feet. Even the people across the street started to gain interest and
watched from the sidewalk. The Muay Thai match continued like this, each kid getting their hits in
and even getting knocked down onto the floor. Each round lasted approximately two minutes, with
five rounds total. During the breaks in between rounds, the fighters sipped their water and received
coaching from their team. In my eyes every round seemed to be the same, although that could be the
alcohol in my system at the time that made everything blurry. At the end of the final round, the referee
gathered all the scores and brought the two boys

The aim of the essay is to link sociology and the law and show how law and society are related and

INTRODUCTION
Discrimination separates people instead of uniting them. Discrimination also hampers the self
confidence and affects the psychology of the person being discriminated against. Prejudice causes
several changes in society .Even though these changes might not be intended .Discrimination is a
threat to democracy, democracy is based on the idea of a society in which all individuals enjoy equal

Prejudice could also exist in order to get approval from peers and to be accepted in a group for
behaving in a discriminatory way towards someone from another group. Prejudice, discrimination, and
violence against others is effected by times of economic difficulty when others come into the city to
do jobs that the indigenous people would otherwise do. Prejudices normally are carried on after
generations and such prejudice with histories are not easy for societies to get rid of. It could be the
result of race, religion, disability, social status, upbringing, trying to maintain an advantage, for
financial/material gain, prejudice, gender, looks, age, background etc.
It is a right of every individual to be given equal protection against discrimination to ensure there is
equality before the law. This right is a universal human right(Universal D eclaration on Human
Rights) and its violation is not limited to a country in particular; discrimination in today s world is
everywhere.
Prohibition of discrimination is also an essential element of national legal systems, as it seeks to
eliminate arbitrariness in dec ision making, en hancing the in clusiveness and predictability o f

Three Cups Of Tea By Greg Mortenson Essay
The astonishing, uplifting story of a real life Indiana Jones and his remarkable humanitarian campaign
in the Taliban s backyard is the introduction given to Greg Mortenson s readers before even opening
his book, Three Cups of Tea. This phrase slapped on the back cover of the millions of books sold in
America prepares readers to not only buy into Greg Mortenson s heroic story but even support his
cause. One song we hear too often is the one in which Africa serves as a backdrop for white fantasies
of conquest and heroism (Cole). The problem with Mr. Mortenson s song is that it provides a single

Mortenson also shows the underdevelopment of the Muslims through the women of Pakistan. The
women in the book are depicted as helpless and shameful. For example, when Greg was captured by
the violent Taliban he pleaded for release from the savage men by lying about his wife giving birth to
a son soon (Mortenson, 170). Mortenson essentializes the Muslim men as underdeveloped and violent
by portraying that they value males over females, believing they would only let him go because he
was having a son. The worst part about this example from Mortenson was that it was a myth,
according to John Krakauer s critique Three Cups of Deceit. Greg staged the Another instance of
Mortenson s essentialism was when Mortenson nursed Rhokia back to health. The women and baby
were shown as weak and no one but Greg, of course, was able to help them. Mortenson shows the
primitive nature of the people by describing their helplessness. Mortenson said, For a Balti to let a
foreign man, an infidel, have that kind of intimate contact with your wife took an incredible leap of
faith (Mortenson, 179). He once again mentions the underdevelopment and male dominance by asking
Rhokia s husband if it was okay to remove her placenta, instead of directly asking her. Mortenson
essentializes the women of Pakistan and portrays them as if they are inferior to men according to

The Experience Machine By Nozick
Have you ever wished you could have anything you wanted in life? I know I have. I ve always wanted
a world where everything would be to my liking and nothing would be to my dissatisfaction. Nozick
sets up a scenario where we can get a maximum amount of pleasure by plugging into an experience
machine that allows us to undergo anything we wanted while we are in a tank with electrodes attached
to our heads. One will be plugged in for two years at a time but while one is attached, the experiences
are going to seem like they are actually happening. He takes this machine to disprove the hedonism
view that says consciously experience pleasure is the most important thing to living a good life. In his
opinion he would not plug in because while one is in the machine, one cannot do certain things, be a
certain person or come in contact with reality. I had never really thought about the option of
experiencing anything I wanted versus living a normal life before, but after reading The Experience
Machine by Nozick, I would pick living in a normal life because even though experiencing anything I
wanted would cause as much pleasure as possible, it limits one to things that are important to human
life such as being able to physically perform or experience things and having an impact in society
The experience machine makes one feel like you are actually performing or experiencing the things
one is doing while plugged in but in reality, as Nozick described, you are floating in a tank with

Companies conduct this analysis to stay abreast of the issue in the current business environment. Here
PEST framework will be used to analyze the macro environment which is divided into four parts
political, economic, social and technological factors.
2.1 Political As for the political environment, there are two aspects to be mentioned here.
2.1.1 Country s situation Country s situation includes three points. One of these three points is that at
the beginning of 1990s, China enforced a practical policy which is called change market for
technology. Secondly, according to more than 20 year long experience of joint venture with other
countries, we can know that it is unwise for domestic enterprises to continue to take this way to

A Dream Jobs And Potential Career Opportunities
In researching a dream jobs and potential career opportunities I came across an internship at the highly
acclaimed Morgan Stanley. This would be a dream job of mine to work in one of the largest business
firms across the globe with multiple locations in numerous counties. Morgan Stanley offers an
extensive number of internships one of these being a Summer Analyst in the finance sector of the firm.
The opportunity to do these would develop my knowledge within the industry and networking with
senior members of the organisation would ideally lead to getting a job within the firm as a financial
planner or as a stockbroker.
In the description of the skills required Morgan Stanley make it explicitly clear what type of workers
they are looking for. To acquire an internship at this firm it states you must have excellent leadership
skills. In every workplace in the industry of finance it is key to demonstrate leadership qualities. There
will be times where you need to be the leader and take command of a project and ensure all the other
workers are on task and achieve the goals that were set out at the start.

How often people drink coffee
How often people drink coffee
ENC 1101
Florida International University
Abstract
In today s society, over half of the adults in the United States drink coffee daily, and the percentage
has been in increase for the past years or decades. In general, this increase of consuming coffee has
been affected by various factors. It depends on ethnicity, race, age, gender, life stress and even the
weather or hours of the day disturbs why people consume it. But how often people drink coffee? Or,
What properties coffee drinkers know coffee has? These are some question that many people do not

The first question was about how many times in the day they drink coffee, or if they do not drink
coffee at all. This question was to create some insight about all the caffeine they are giving to their
body. The second one was about the usual time they drink coffee. This one was to show them the
pattern they might use without even noticing it. The third question was asking for a reason why they
drink coffee. This one was used to identify the key terms that induce them to have a coffee and the
dependency from it. The fourth one was about the kind of coffee they usually drink. This one was used
just to find differences between the addictions of drinking coffee, if any. Finally, the fifth one was as
simple as the knowledge about coffee s side effects. This one was used to identify consumer s
knowledge about the coffee they are drinking. The survey can be found below in Appendix B.

When Did The Cold War End Essay
It has been about 26 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall marked, as many believed the end to
Communism, and the Cold War. For years, there was a lot of tension between the United States and
Soviet Union that can be described as a competition between two universalist models: each claimed to
represent the future (Dinning). As most global conflicts involving war go, one always loses. Since the
USSR does not exist any longer, many believe that the United States won this Cold War, but in reality
neither power won, and the USSR became present day Russia. From the time of his presidency,
Ronald Reagan is credited with ending the Cold War, but had nothing to do with the fall of the Berlin
Wall that dissolved Communism in Europe. Since he was president, ... Show more content on

With our current president, nuclear war is as possible as it was in the Cold War. Recently, Hawaii used
Cold War era sirens that would alert for an incoming attack, this is in preparation from possible
defense against North Korea (The Associated Press). Tensions like these today raise the question: Did
the Cold War really end? Rather, did the United States succeed in becoming the superpower it claims
to be? Historians argue that the Cold War did end, but the United States is entering another Cold War
like conflict with North Korea. However, the USSR had a strong influence on the Northern peninsula
of Korea, so they are the main cause of today s conflicts as well. They had a direct influence to what is
occurring today. So, if the Cold War ended, why does the Korean War s effects still resonate on the
relationship with the U.S? Under Trump, many of his actions are reflecting what Reagan would do. In
the 1980 Olympics, the United States boycotted the games being held in Moscow after the USSR

Bias In Twelve Angry Men (Film) Essay
‘It s very hard to keep personal prejudice out of a thing like this. And no matter where you run into it,
prejudice obscures the truth. [Juror 8, page 53] Perhaps this best sums up the basis of ‘Twelve Angry
Men by Reginald Rose. This play is about a young delinquent on trial for the murder of his abusive
father. The jury must find him guilty if there is no reasonable doubt, and in turn, sentence him to
death. ‘I don t envy your job. You are faced with a grave responsibility. [Judge, page 1] People s bias
and predispositions can affect their opinion of different circumstances and different people. This is
very evident throughout the play. After the first group vote and juror 8 votes not guilty, a discussion

You re not gonna tell me you believe that phony story about losing the knife, and that business about

don t even have to tell you. They don t know what the truth is! And lemme tell you, they don t need
any real big reason to kill someone, either! No sir! [Juror 10, page 51] This type of prejudice offended
many of the other jurors, especially Juror 5 who is of similar race to the accused. However, it isn t just
the jurors own personal prejudice that affects the way they vote. The prosecution of the boy led the
jurors to believe that he was a guilty beyond all doubt. Also, the boy s representation was uninterested
and uncaring. ‘I kept putting myself in the boy s place. I would have asked for another lawyer, I
think. I mean, if I was on trial for my life I d want my lawyer to tear the prosecution witnesses to
shreds, or at least to try. [Juror 8, page 14] This case was one of truth and justice. It becomes evident
when the Juror 9 says to Juror 10. ‘Do you think you have a monopoly on truth? [Juror 9, page 8]
The fact is, nobody really knows what the truth is, and at the end of the play, still nobody does. The
boy may have been guilty, but as Juror 8 pointed out, who were they to make that assumption? Most
of the Jurors had taken for granted that what the prosecution had told them was the truth. Through
much discussion the Jurors realised that this may

Systems Theory Of Systems Thinking Essay
Systems Thinking in Organizations
Systems thinking described human thinking in a spiritual activity of the brain, that is, brainwork,
following the concept of being as the spiritual alive body. It asserts that thinking means the processing
of information that is essential for the management of the human body life (Broks, 2016). This paper
discusses systems theory of systems thinking as applied to organizations today, in particular to
learning institutions versus those of traditional organizations, and their functionalities. Research has
taught us that companies are compelling, hierarchically structured entities. Such dynamism lives in the
emergence of significant events at every organizational level (Caldwell, (2012).
Characteristics of Systems Thinking.
According to Davis, Powell, Dent and Wharff (2015), the features of discovery, action, and framing
are the characteristics of systems thinking that promote organizations success. These three features
analyze the organizations leadership processes between the linkages and interactions of the whole
systems. For example, the three characteristics view the complete organization with its environment
and incorporate the discovery component to explores and guarantee boundaries that include all
concerns parties. The framing nature gathered patterns of behaviors and make feedback loops design

Customer Loyalty And Brand Loyalty Essay
The term Brand Loyalty also called as Customer Loyalty has been in the business industry since a
very long time as a model to be used in conducting business. But it wasn t until the mid to late 1900 s
that the term was actually given its due importance by making it a vital part of advertising and
marketing. The concept of marketing evolved substantially from being focused on sales of a product
to having Customer satisfaction to be its focal point. Studies further revealed that there was a positive
correlation between customer satisfaction and Brand Loyalty.
The behavior in which a consumer keeps buying a product time and again instead of buying products
from other competitive companies is called Brand Loyalty. Brand loyalty can often be termed as
Customer Loyalty, Brand Commitment, Product Loyalty etc. Brand Loyalty is seen among consumers
when they realize that the product is better than the other products that are available in the market.
This affinity of a consumer towards a particular product is considered to be brand loyalty. Although,
this consumer behavior is not limited to a simple repetition of a purchase, there is also a psychological
reasoning behind the consumers affinity towards behavior.
The concept of Brand loyalty is defined in terms of 6 necessary and sufficient conditions. These
conditions are as follows:
1. Biased (i.e., nonrandom),
2. Behavioral response,
3. Expressed over time,
4. Some decision making unit,
5. With respect to 1 or more

However conflict is viewed, students who can manage their conflicts in a rational, civil and effective
way, allow teachers to devote more time to teaching rather than resolving student disputes and/or
dealing with disruptive situations, which supports student achievement (www.knowconflict.com,

environment where students can focus on learning. (www.knowconflict.com, 2006). Additionally,
exposure to conflict resolution skills by disseminating attitudes, knowledge, and skills that deter
violence throughout the school day, may result in more peaceful resolutions of conflict and fewer
episodes of violence both in and out of school (Mauricio, Dillman Carpentier, Horan, 2005).

it is not uncommon for retirement communities to allow small cats and dogs, the resident needs to be

Age And The Importance Of Voting In The United States
Although all Americans have the right over the age of 18, not all citizens vote because of four
common, yet relevant reasons. One s educational level, age, level of income, and prestige of
occupation determine if they will vote or not. First and for most, the education one has is the single
most important factor in predicting whether they vote. Although mostly, all American citizens know
they have the right to vote, they do not know how to get registered or where to vote. That does seem
like a poor excuse, considering we live in a technology based society and pretty much anything can be
looked up online. Despite the fact that some citizens truly do not understand the importance of voting,
some choose to not understand it. Secondly, age

A hero in general is someone who stands foe strength, endurance, humbleness and shows great
bravery. In our modern day society, we have many heroes, such as, firefighter, police officers,
lifeguards, soldiers, doctors and even ordinary man and women whom risk their lives everyday. For
example, soldiers fight wars on the borders of our country to keep civilians safe. Firefighter control
deadly situations in spite of putting themselves in danger to save someone s life. Ordinary men and
women fight incurable diseases like cancer, AIDS, mental and physical disabilities and still have the
strength to face life with a positive approach. Heroes are everywhere in everyday life from movies to

Female Characters, By John Wyndham
Female characters are influential in John Wyndham s The Chrysalids. In the novel, three women are of
paramount importance in comparison to all others in shaping David s views and opinions: Sophie, the

thoughts and make him question the authenticity of his society s belief system. It is hind sight that

Types Of Communications And Establishing A Standard Format...
integrating the different cultures. It will come as no surprise the communication style at each of the
organizations need to be clearly identified. The two groups coming together could have very different
styles of communicating to not only staff but customers as well. One organization may use electronic
communication means as the main way they communicate within the organization. Maybe most of the
communication is done via email instead of direct conversation. Where another company may prefer
having direct communication face to face or via the telephone. As you can see, this could create a
significant challenge for both organizations because as they merge they will become frustrated or
could even misinterpret an email whereas the staff that is meeting face to face may feel neglected or

myself both grateful and devastated for the learning opportunities. As learning opportunities always

this course was the need to research my documents to prevent unintended plagiarism. I was raised to

principles will fall into place. Plagiarism, in my definition, is the combination of all three values in

Assyrian Art Essay
Assyrian Art
The reliefs from the palace of King Assurnasirpal II at Nimrud play an important role in portraying the
power and importance of the Assyrian king. These reliefs are similar to other Assyrian reliefs in terms
of their purpose; however, there is a contrast in the methods used to glorify the king. By examining
such factors as style, iconography and historical significance, we find many similarities and
differences between the ceremonial reliefs and the more common reliefs depicting war and hunting.
The reliefs belonging to the sacred or ceremonial category consist of panels depicting a sacred tree, a
human headed genius fertilizing a sacred tree, a griffin fertilizing a sacred tree, and a scene of King

In term of stylization, both the human headed deities and Assurnasirpal have very stylized hair falling
in straight locks to the back of their necks; furthermore, they possess highly stylized beards of intricate
waves and ringlets which end evenly at the bottom.
Because these features are similar to that of Assurbanipal and the mythological bullmen at the palace
at Khorsabad, it can be construed that it is a coiffure characteristic of royalty and divinity alike (Art
History Anthology 28).
Moving on to the facial expression, we find that all the human headed figures contain large eyebrows,
large eyes that are deeply undercut, an elongated nose, conventionalized ears, and highly
conventionalized lips which appear as a simple slit. On the other hand, the beardless griffin has an
eagle s head adorned with a feather headdress and a curved beak with a long tongue. To show the
strength of the deities and Assurnasirpal, the artist depicts muscles within the arms and legs through
simple lines and curves. This style of depicting the facial and body features is common in other
Assyrian reliefs including the hunting scenes of Assurbanipal.
Although there are many similarities in body structure, there is also a distinctive element that
separates the deities and the king. Each deity possesses a set of four highly stylized wings made up of

Examples Of Peeking Order Theory
Peeking Order Theory
Based on the finance dictionary, a peeking order theory means an argument that external financial
financing transactions, especially those related to poor selection of issues, create a dynamic
environment where firms have a priority, or borrow a financial source, when all others are the same.
Internally generated funds are the most popular funds, followed by new debt, and debt equity grants.
Finally, new equity is the least important source. Order theory assumes that there is no target capital
structure. Due to the weak selection, the firm chose internal for external finance. When external
funding is needed, firms prefer debt to equity as information related to debt issues is low cost. This
theory emphasizes that businesses must comply with hierarchy and internal funding sources if
available, and debts are preferred over equity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The static trading theory and pecking order theory are two financial principles that help companies
choose their capital structure. Both play the same role in the decision making process depending on
the type of capital structure the company wishes to achieve. However, empirically the pecking order
theory is most widely used in determining the company s capital structure.
Static trading theory is a theory of finance based on the work of economists of Modigliani and Miller.
With the theory of static trading, and since corporate debt repayment is a deductible tax and there is
less risk involved in taking debt on equity, debt financing is initially cheaper than equity financing.
This means that companies can reduce the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) through capital
structure with debt on equity. However, increasing the amount of debt also increases the risk to the
company, somewhat offsets the WACC decline. Thus, static trading theory identifies a mix of debt and
equity where the WACC decline offsets the increased financial risk to the

identical to the popular song Here, There, and Everywhere by The Beatles. The album starts off with
Nikes, a slow, hypnotic song, featuring high pitched vocals from Ocean, and a very dreamy sound,
somewhat creating a mood for the rest of the album. The next songs, Ivy and Pink and White, are
polar opposites about love, where in Ivy, Ocean talks about how he failed to keep a relationship going

also contains skits like Be Yourself where Frank s mother leaves a phone call for him telling him not

  • 3. Technology In Aeolus The subject matter of Eric D. Smith s essay is the examination of the recording of Aeolus in relation to Platonic and post Heideggerian concepts of technology. He suggests that Ulysses self consciously highlights how the ways of authority and modern technology are divided in a manner that both anticipates and clears Derrida s response to Heidegger and Plato. The key to understand Joyce s motivations for his decision to record is acquiring an understanding of Joyce s relationship to the question of modern technology in general. More specifically, Smith searches for answers to questions such as Why use Aeolus ? , What is the connection between the concept of modern technology and Joyce s incorporation of fragmentation of authority as a central ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a realization that human memory is itself a technology. Memories are not a product of an original moment but rather a complex network of mnemotechnic reproductions in which each element authorizes the recollection. Aeolus represents the technological as indistinguishable from the natural. In the article Smith states: As technology gradually replaces the human the privileged role of author becomes less and less necessary and more difficult to fix. (464) Yet one can ask himself whether we, then, don t give too much credit to technology or machines while we actually should admire the human inventor? The irony of selecting a recorder to authorize is itself an imperfect recreation of a recreation of a speech even that can never be legitimately authorized. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Multicultural Resetting In order to develop a deeper sense of awareness about the challenges of working with children within a multicultural resetting, and also to further develop my inclusive research, choosing a methodology was an essential step together with understanding different criteria for the assessment of educational research as discussed in Teaching and Learning Research Briefing , no 80, 2009. But before deciding on a methodology for this project, it is important to mention that the scope of my investigation is not finding a solution to a problem, but rather learning about potential issues related to working with children in a multicultural nursery setting, and problematise the diversity and inclusion aspects derived from this using critical thinking and academic research methodology. The process of research required an approach to interviewing, mainly the necessity to plan and conduct a narrative interview, which can be defined by an interaction or dialogue with one or more individuals in order to build a narration of their lives within a certain environment. (Soler, 2013) A narrative based methodology in the form of conducting interviews to research diversity and inclusion have been successfully used for different levels of research and key studies (Nutbrown and Clough, 2006). ... • 6. Descriptive Essay On The Blue Ridge Mountains It was finally time to take off. I had anticipated this trip south for several weeks. Now the last item was packed in the RV and we were ready to hit the road. One of the things I enjoy most is getting off the beaten path and traveling the backroads. And, we were going to be able to do that on most of this trip. Part of the advantages of traveling the backroads is being able to take in some fantastic views of this country s landscape, slowing down our pace enough to enjoy all the simple pleasures along the way, and specifically on this trip, enjoying that native southern hospitality. No matter how many times I see them, my heart always perks up when I first see those Blue Ridge mountains. And, it is always an inspirational sight to behold when you see that mist rising in the Smoky Mountains. However, I am just as awe struck by the magnificent views as you wind through the Nantahala in North Carolina. Beautiful rapids and waterfalls are throughout this National Forest also. It is spectacular! As we made our way further south, crossing over in to Georgia, we were greeted by droves of cars parked along the sides of the roads. People were enjoying the simple pleasure of whitewater rafting. However, when you are the one pulling a 35 ft RV maneuvering through those hair pin turns, trying to avoid the cars on both sides of the road, it doesn t seem like a pleasure; at least for the moment. Then, in the middle of dodging the cars on the side of the road, a van stopped right in front of us. No kidding, the van stopped in the middle of the lane on a blind curve to let their little boy go to the bathroom. However, as you can well image, there are no bathrooms! Seriously, traffic came to a complete halt in the Chattahoochee River National Park. We had to shake our head and laugh at that one, thankful that no one got hurt! It is at times like this you have to laugh and say, traveling the backroads is also an adventure! After that it was smooth sailing. We finished out the last part of our trip driving through a beautiful little college town. The picturesque setting of Young Harris is what I love about traveling the backroads. The infrastructure was run down and black children had to take a bus to get to schools, whereas on the school that hosted the white children had much nicer infrastructure thus making learning a more enjoyable experience. By giving students of color such bad education it makes it that much harder to find careers in the future. Students who were not given an adequate education because of the way the schools were funded became parents, who had to work labor jobs in order to make ends meet, and once again their children would be left learning at inadequate schools. Many neighborhoods that populate a majority of either black or latino students have negative policies that ultimately serve these youths as a sacrifice from being students to prisoners through the school and through prison pipelines. The director (Peter Weir) has many views about modern day society that he is trying to convey in The Truman Show though two were stand outs. The first will focus on is that we will never have the whole truth. It is impossible because of the amount of people that lie and bring deceit. Also, the world and media tries the hide things from us that degrade the higher society or itself in our eyes. It might cause a backlash like from the people, like in The Truman show when Christof said Listen to me, Truman. There s no more truth out there than there is in the world that I created for you. Upon first seeing this piece I was taken aback by its size. I d seen a photo of the work on MOCA s website, but to see it in person truly was a different experience. When I began to really look at it, I noticed how clean cut all the lines were and made the assumption that Warhol had used silk screening as he did in many of his pieces. However, when I read the description on the side and found out he hand painted it I was extremely surprised. There aren t any visible brush strokes, the lines are clean and the colors look so solid. I ve always wanted a world where everything would be to my liking and nothing would be to my dissatisfaction. Nozick sets up a scenario where we can get a maximum amount of pleasure by plugging into an experience machine that allows us to undergo anything we wanted while we are in a tank with electrodes attached to our heads. One will be plugged in for two years at a time but while one is attached, the experiences are going to seem like they are actually happening. He takes this machine to disprove the hedonism view that says consciously experience pleasure is the most important thing to living a good life. In his opinion he would not plug in because while one is in the machine, one cannot do certain things, be a certain person or come in contact with reality. I had never really thought about the option of experiencing anything I wanted versus living a normal life before, but after reading The Experience Machine by Nozick, I would pick living in a normal life because even though experiencing anything I wanted would cause as much pleasure as possible, it limits one to things that are important to human life such as being able to physically perform or experience things and having an impact in society The experience machine makes one feel like you are actually performing or experiencing the things one is doing while plugged in but in reality, as Nozick described, you are floating in a tank with ... But it wasn t until the mid to late 1900 s that the term was actually given its due importance by making it a vital part of advertising and marketing. The concept of marketing evolved substantially from being focused on sales of a product to having Customer satisfaction to be its focal point. Additionally, exposure to conflict resolution skills by disseminating attitudes, knowledge, and skills that deter violence throughout the school day, may result in more peaceful resolutions of conflict and fewer episodes of violence both in and out of school (Mauricio, Dillman Carpentier, Horan, 2005). Items Used The questions selected are used to not only help identify how students deal with conflict, but how often they display unconstructive conflict management behaviors as well. While it is not uncommon for retirement communities to allow small cats and dogs, the resident needs to be able to independently care for their pet either by themselves, family, or paid caregivers. One s educational level, age, level of income, and prestige of occupation determine if they will vote or not. First and for most, the education one has is the single most important factor in predicting whether they vote. Although mostly, all American citizens know they have the right to vote, they do not know how to get registered or where to vote. That does seem like a poor excuse, considering we live in a technology based society and pretty much anything can be looked up online. Despite the fact that some citizens truly do not understand the importance of voting, some choose to not understand it. Secondly, age ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Types Of Communications And Establishing A Standard Format... integrating the different cultures. It will come as no surprise the communication style at each of the organizations need to be clearly identified. The two groups coming together could have very different styles of communicating to not only staff but customers as well. One organization may use electronic communication means as the main way they communicate within the organization. Maybe most of the communication is done via email instead of direct conversation. Where another company may prefer having direct communication face to face or via the telephone. As you can see, this could create a significant challenge for both organizations because as they merge they will become frustrated or could even misinterpret an email whereas the staff that is meeting face to face may feel neglected or ignored because they are not having direct interactions. Identifying the different types of communications and establishing a standard format that meets the needs of the employees without comprising the effectiveness of the message must be one of the first steps when integrating multiple cultures. Enrolling in this class I was unclear as to what to expect, but within the first weekly assignment I could understand the benefits it would bring to my current endeavors. As the class progressed, I found myself both grateful and devastated for the learning opportunities. As learning opportunities always provide opportunities to improve, please allow me to expand on each. Perhaps my biggest take from this course was the need to research my documents to prevent unintended plagiarism. I was raised to not lie, steal or cheat as the most important values one can possess. With these values in place, other principles will fall into place. Plagiarism, in my definition, is the combination of all three values in one. Gurak and Lannon list four key principals to avoid unintentional plagiarism including identify sources, taking accurate notes, understanding how to include the information, and how to document the use of sources (Gurak Lannon, 2016, p. 406). In completing my assignments I fully considered my work meeting the requirements and avoiding any inference of plagiarism. With that said, I was wrong. First up in my ... • 37. Assyrian Art Essay Assyrian Art The reliefs from the palace of King Assurnasirpal II at Nimrud play an important role in portraying the power and importance of the Assyrian king. These reliefs are similar to other Assyrian reliefs in terms of their purpose; however, there is a contrast in the methods used to glorify the king. By examining such factors as style, iconography and historical significance, we find many similarities and differences between the ceremonial reliefs and the more common reliefs depicting war and hunting. The reliefs belonging to the sacred or ceremonial category consist of panels depicting a sacred tree, a human headed genius fertilizing a sacred tree, a griffin fertilizing a sacred tree, and a scene of King Assurnasirpal (whose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In term of stylization, both the human headed deities and Assurnasirpal have very stylized hair falling in straight locks to the back of their necks; furthermore, they possess highly stylized beards of intricate waves and ringlets which end evenly at the bottom. Because these features are similar to that of Assurbanipal and the mythological bullmen at the palace at Khorsabad, it can be construed that it is a coiffure characteristic of royalty and divinity alike (Art History Anthology 28). Moving on to the facial expression, we find that all the human headed figures contain large eyebrows, large eyes that are deeply undercut, an elongated nose, conventionalized ears, and highly conventionalized lips which appear as a simple slit. On the other hand, the beardless griffin has an eagle s head adorned with a feather headdress and a curved beak with a long tongue. To show the strength of the deities and Assurnasirpal, the artist depicts muscles within the arms and legs through simple lines and curves. This style of depicting the facial and body features is common in other Assyrian reliefs including the hunting scenes of Assurbanipal. Although there are many similarities in body structure, there is also a distinctive element that separates the deities and the king. Each deity possesses a set of four highly stylized wings made up of very detailed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Examples Of Peeking Order Theory Peeking Order Theory Based on the finance dictionary, a peeking order theory means an argument that external financial financing transactions, especially those related to poor selection of issues, create a dynamic environment where firms have a priority, or borrow a financial source, when all others are the same. Internally generated funds are the most popular funds, followed by new debt, and debt equity grants. Finally, new equity is the least important source. Order theory assumes that there is no target capital structure. Due to the weak selection, the firm chose internal for external finance. When external funding is needed, firms prefer debt to equity as information related to debt issues is low cost. The static trading theory and pecking order theory are two financial principles that help companies choose their capital structure. Both play the same role in the decision making process depending on the type of capital structure the company wishes to achieve. However, empirically the pecking order theory is most widely used in determining the company s capital structure. Static trading theory is a theory of finance based on the work of economists of Modigliani and Miller. With the theory of static trading, and since corporate debt repayment is a deductible tax and there is less risk involved in taking debt on equity, debt financing is initially cheaper than equity financing. This means that companies can reduce the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) through capital structure with debt on equity. However, increasing the amount of debt also increases the risk to the company, somewhat offsets the WACC decline. Thus, static trading theory identifies a mix of debt and equity where the WACC decline offsets the increased financial risk to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
