A Summary Of The Ancient Greek And The Byzantine Empires
Both the Ancient Greek and the Byzantine Empires have a long and familiar history with warfare,
acclimated to crushing losses and sweeping victories. In Greece, military action has fended off the
Persian invaders and brought warring city states deep set rivalries. Within the Byzantine Empire,
conquest has brought Rome back into the Roman Empire. Despite both civilizations high esteem in
military conquest and glory, they had contrasting views of warfare and how their respective armies
went to work. The Greek Classical Terracotta volute krater, attributed to the Painter of the Woolly
Satyr, illustrates two messy front line battles in separate registers. Meanwhile, from the Early
Byzantine period, the silver Plate with the Battle of David and Goliath depicts not so much a battle
between two armies, but rather a dramatic yet organized duel, over the course of 3 registers. From
these two pieces, one could all but assume one statement: of the artists and commissioners of the
terracotta volute krater and the Plate with the Battle of David and Goliath, only those of the former
have seen battle. In the terracotta volute krater, the viewer immediately sees from any angle that there
is indeed a raging battle afoot in the register occupying the body of the vase. The amazonachae, a
battle between the mythical Amazon (a race of warrior women) and Greeks, were a popular subject of
works, particularly in Athens. On one face of the neck of the vase, there rages a fight between centaurs
and Lapiths. Meanwhile, the Byzantine Plate with the Battle of David and Goliath depicts the titular
duel from the holy text. Despite drawing the viewer s eyes to the larger middle register depicting the
biblical fight, the silver plate s top register begins the plate s narrative: David is confronting the giant
Goliath. More importantly, among the two holding their hands out in blessing (thumb to ring finger),
David has the the blessing of God (depicted as a hand descending from the sky). In this narrative,
David s victory is assured; after all, he has the approval of God; such is not the case in the
amazonachae nor the centauromachia depicted on the volute krater, in which victory is still uncertain.
Needless to say, these works of art do not

The Pros And Cons Of Corporal Punishment
A new study suggested that kids who suffered spanking may have relationship issues later in life.
According to the researchers, led by Dr. Jeff R. Temple of the University of Texas Medical Branch,
children who experienced corporal punishment have a tendency for domestic abuse upon adulthood.
In the study, the researchers surveyed 758 young adults, 61 percent were female, with a mean age of
20 years. They asked the participants on how often they were slapped, spanked or struck with an
object as punishment when they were young. The participants who experienced such punishment in
their childhood admitted to committing abuse on their dating partners.
The findings specifically noted 68 percent of the participants experienced corporal punishment as
children, while 19 percent reported physical dating abuse perpetration. The result was sustained even
with controlled factors, such as gender, age, ethnicity, parental education, child physical abuse, and
childhood corporal punishment.
Corporal or physical punishment is a punishment designed to cause physical pain to a person,
commonly practiced at home and school settings. The common methods of corporal punishment are
spanking and paddling. The subject is a controversial topic even if it clearly delivers negative effects
in children.
You cannot punish out these behaviors that you do not want. There is no need for corporal punishment
based on the research. We are not giving up an effective technique. We are saying this is a

The Impact Of The Environment On The Environment
Humanity is slowly discovering new diseases, infections, and deadly illnesses. Researchers blame
genetics and how it is passed down from generation to generation through shared chromosomes. If
they don t blame genetics they blame the adaptation of species or the animals consumed by the
population. However, these animals carry what they consume: plants, insects, water, oxygen, and any
other animal the predators consume. People eat the meat, the vegetables, and breathe the oxygen that
the trees let out during photosynthesis, the food chain is being disrupted because of the impact that the
humans have on the ecosystem and vice versa. The realistic view of what is happening is that citizens
are innovating having the tendency to litter, industries are being created causing pollution and oil
spills, malls are being made while parks and forests are being cut down for parking. With this said, the
ecosystem is, in reality, the reason for the diseases affecting human health. As the environment
changes in the community, the human species struggle to adapt and accommodate themselves because
of pollution in the air, land, and water causing problems such as Cancer, Asthma, and other diseases.
Although the environment impacts human health, the human community is also having a drastic
impact on the environment because of gentrification, innovation, and accommodation.
The impact that the environment has on human health is just as drastic as humanity having an impact
on the environment. In

Liquidity Risk, Distinctions Between Asset Liquidity And...
Excusive summary
This report is designed to investigate liquidity risk, distinctions between asset liquidity and liability
liquidity management, as well as the main features of an effective liquidity management. In order to
gain insight of liquidity, there is a graph based on the liquidity ratio to analyze the liquidity risk of
four major banks in Australia and the advantages and disadvantages of the liquidity ratio.
Furthermore, it outlines how Basel III effects the banking liquidity management.
Introduction
In recent years, liquidity risk has become the public problem to the commercial banks. Bank for
International Settlement (2008) indicates that the most of bank failures happened with the reason that
the liquidity can not satisfy the demand, therefore, the liquidity risk is the most basic aspect of risk
management. Moreover, the production and implementation of Basel III is able to address the liquidity
risk effectively by applying two ratios which are LCR and NSFR.
1.0 Liquidity risk and liquidity management
1.1 define liquidity risk
Liquidity risk refers to the bank s ability to meet maturing obligations as deposits come due and quick
processing the assets into cash with minimum loss or being able to get enough funds when necessary
and processing profitable securities trading by using available funds (Gup, 2007, p19). The reasons for
liquidity risk occurs can be concluded in two aspects, which are asset side and liability side. On the
asset side, the loan commitments

First thing is first you must Remove Your Computer from the network, In order to discontinue the link
that the hacker is exploiting (pull the Plug) on your PC, you have to quarantine it so that it cannot
transmit on the network. Separation will avoid it from being utilized to harm other computers a long

network cable out of your computer and shut down the Wi Fi connection. If this is a laptop, there is
normally a button to turn the Wi Fi off. Do not depend on executing this through software, as the
hacker s malware might correspond you something is turned off while it is in actuality still connected.
It is possible to also utilize the Firewall to separate the computer from the network. Log into the

Strategies for Downsizing Essay
Abstract Layoffs, frequently called downsizing, describe the process in which companies remove
temporarily or indefinitely a number of employees from their payroll. The reasons why companies
downsize are related to dramatic changes occurring in the environment of the organization.
Globalization and the breakdown of trade barriers among nations and the emergence of technology
and automation have also necessitated companies to downsize. For companies to practice effective
downsizing they must follow the following steps: education, reinforcement of company goals and
values, honesty and dignity at all time, planning, and communication. Besides the steps described
above there are other important points to consider when conducting ... Show more content on

This may make the company lose a market share in its industry or respond to fierce competition from
its rivals resulting in the need for the company to cut costs through altering its size to fit its market and
customer base. Globalization and the breakdown of trade barriers among nations and the emergence of
technology and automation have also necessitated the company to downsize. Thus, the overriding
rationale for downsizing by the company appears to be the need for survivial and the ability to
compete in the new global economy (Beylerian and Kleiner, 2003). Strategies for Layoffs and
Downsizing For the company to practice effective and successful downsizing, the following steps
should be included: Education Reinforcement of the company goals and values Honesty/dignity at all
times Planning Communication Education – The company needs to educate its employees on the
needs of the organization through regular meetings with employees in focus groups or feedback
sessions. This will send a clear message to employees that the management is receptive to their needs
and at the same time, it will help the management to design an effective downsizing program.
Education can also take the form of training the employees to look beyond their existing roles and
duties thus prepare them for taking additional tasks and roles in the event of a downsizing.
Reinforcement of the company

The Philosophy Of Servant Leadership
The Philosophy of Servant Leadership Servant leadership is a theory based on the notion that one
should be a servant to others first, and a leader second. A person should have the desire to serve
others, in order to be a servant leader. The following paper will address several key components of the
servant leadership philosophy related to the book: The Servant: A Simple Story About the True
Essence of Leadership, written by James C. Hunter. First, I will examine the theory of servant
leadership including its history, definitions, and major concepts. Next, the function of this leadership
style in the field of nursing and nursing roles will be discussed. Finally, how this philosophy can be
utilized in my personal nursing practice and how the theory has sparked personal growth in myself as
a leader will be examined.
History of Servant Leadership The philosophy of servant leadership began with Robert K. Greenleaf
in 1977. He first came about the idea of servant leadership while reading Journey to the East by
Herman Hesse (Keith, 2016). This is a story of a group of travelers who were served by a man named
Leo. He performed their menial chores and lifted their spirits with his song and his spirit (Keith,
2016). Leo disappeared one day, throwing the travelers into disarray (Keith, 2016). This ended the
journey of the travelers. Many years later, one of the travelers saw Leo in a new job role as the head of
the order that once sponsored the journey (Keith, 2016). Once a servant,

The Importance Of Superstitions In Sports
One doesn t acquire superstitions, curses, or obsession out of nowhere towards a sports team. It s
something that s involuntarily part of someone when they participate in these gatherings with other
sports fans. Having a passion specifically for a team could get a crowd riled up, so when they begin to
lose, people try to generalize what could have caused the circumstance.
Fear of one s team being in a losing streak, who never seem to win, sports fans try to hold on to a
sense of hope and something to believe in that could explain the reasoning as to why they haven t won
for a period of time. However, there is no logical evidence that superstitious or curses are the cause of
a team lost in a game.
Being a fan of a sports team, specifically baseball, could result in being prone to believing the curses
or superstitious that comes with the team when they have lost. People are always trying to fill in the
gaps of what could cause such a loss, and when they can t find a legitimate reason they direct their
attention to superstition. Many attribute it to events that occurred earlier that could be the cause of a
team losing, even though the event could have no relation to the outcome of the game. Before the
Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016, ending the 108 year old drought that began in 1908, a
curse began to surface called the Curse of the Billy Goat. When a Cubs fan was ejected from Wrigley
field after many people complained about the smell

Human Relation vs Human Resources
Discuss the difference between human relations theory and human resources development and the
implications which each strategy has for issues of socialisation and performance control. Which of
these theories appears to be most consistent with the behaviour of contemporary managers?
There are so many fallacies for instance the term of human relations and human resources where the
contemporary organisation unseen the differences between this two approaches. Both human relations
and human resources manager might use the same kind of organisational behaviour but for very
different reasons (Miller 2009). Human relations approach emphasize on productivity where the

In Herzberg s Motivation Hygiene theory led to development of extensive lists of these motivator and
hygiene factor (Miller 2006). According to Miller (2006), the category of motivator factors is
responsibility, achievement, recognition, challenging work and advancement in the organisation. The
category of hygiene factors are physical working conditions, salary, benefits, company policy and the
technical quality of supervision (Miller 2006). Herzberg believes that the absence of these factors will
lead to unhappiness and dissatisfaction. Effective job performance is highly dependent on the
adequacy and balance of both motivator and hygiene factors. A US retailer, Costco is known to be
incredibly loyal, which can be keep profitability for the organisation (Leberecht 2010). Keeping the
employees satisfied will make employees perform well and it results in higher profitability for the
organisation in the long run (Leberecht 2010).
The fact that human relation approaches can really enhance the performance control for an
organisation is undisputable however it will bring some negative impacts to an organisation at the
same time. Human relations theories revolve broadly around fulfilling employees needs as an
individual in correlation to their job performance. Therefore, individualism could also indirectly cause
the breakdown of cooperation as well as social cycle. For instance, Maslow s and Herzberg s theory
which mentioned about reward as motivator

Sustainable Design Versus Aesthetic Design
Design is that area of human experience, where skill and knowledge is concerned with man s ability to
mould the environment according to his material and spiritual needs. It is used to analyse and identify
problems to find an appropriate solution. Designers have created all kind of functional designs to help
improve people s lives. They were interested in the nature of beauty, art, and taste and with the
creation and appreciation of beauty. Although there are examples of pre historic art, they are rare and
the guidelines that they followed are not so clear, Thus the aesthetic doctrines that guided their
production and interpretation one mostly unknown. However, recently designer notice what happing

However, these cultural aesthetic merits have been undermined by very restricted pro environmental
guidelines (Donald et al, 2008) such as, The Design Accord. As a result, modern architecture has lost
the engagement with the local cultural identity and the sense of creativity has been reduced (Donald et
al, 2008). Where experimenting and exploiting the plant resources will result in a better world than
trying to protect the environment (Donald et al, 2008). A good architecture does not need any ethical
diminution and responsibility regarding the environment and just design for the design sake (Donald
et al, 2008).
What they both fails to consider is that the aesthetic value and the environment value, if they are used
together it will benefit the design. Good design should have the flexibility, creativity and responsible
design approaches and methods, and also good communication (Wolf 2010). According to Meyer
(2008) the aesthetic value could increase the functionality of a particular the design. He also states that
In designing urban eras parks consider as aesthetic value, but it also has an important effect on the
environment in two ways: they are environment cleaning machines and shady groves of trees reducing
temperatures, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen.

Realism In The Picture Of Dorian Gray
Wilde combines both the ornamental and the natural elements of the definition of aestheticism here by
describing both the Persian saddle bags and honey coloured blossoms. The set description is so
enamoring that one could almost miss Lord Henry Wotton, instead engaging their imagination in the
appreciation of the objects around him. The descriptions are so elegantly articulated by Wilde that they
can only be imagined through their beauty alone; one would not imagine plain tables and chairs while
reading this, and the descriptions are certainly not modest as George Eliot describes in her definition
of realism. This also eliminates any need for a collective spectacle; the objects simply are what they
are. The entertaining language that Wilde uses in his descriptions work in satisfying his argument for
aestheticism. Wilde also spends a lot of his time making the characters in The Picture of Dorian Gray
aesthetic focused. For Wilde, the only character who gives in to the idea of realism is Basil Hallward
by putting far too much of himself into his own painting. Basil is the physical characterization of
Wilde s criticism of artists in his preface; he does not conceal the artist when creating Dorian s
portrait. Basil even claims that the real Dorian is the painting and not the living Dorian standing
before him, saying I shall stay with the real Dorian when prompted to attend the theatre with Dorian
and Henry Wotton (Wilde 28). Since the real Dorian is not to

Copper Cable versus Fiber Optics
Copper Cable (Ethernet) versus fiber optics
The topic we picked to do our presentation on is fiber optics versus cable, which is better for a
company use and what are the future prospects of fiber optics and cable. We also talked about the
history of DSL, broadband, fiber optics, and dial up. There are both pros and cons with fiber optics
and copper cable. The main point for our research is which would companies choose. During our
research there was many obstacles because it was hard to say why companies would choose fiber
optics or copper cable because it varies from company to company. The start of our research had to be
choosing to talk about the history by showing where it all came from.
History:
The research method we used was the internet and it provided us with relevant, interesting
information. When we started our research we wanted to focus on the history of DSL, dial up,
Broadband, and fiber optics. Starting with dial up, it was created in 1962 by Bell with speeds reaching
300 bits per second. dial up evolved over years into standard 56k modem in about 1996 by Dr. Brent
Townshend. Next, DSL was invented in 1988 by Bellcore, DSL was revolutionary because it proved
that data and phone could be sent at the same time using the same line. The next is Broadband it was
created in 1996 by Roger Communications. Broadband is currently the most widely used way to
transport data. It was used in 70% of homes in the US. Last we talked about the history of fiber

views is expressed. The idea that any citizen who is not in die hard favor of World War I is a traitor to
the country is explained through Roosevelt s own explanation. Along with this theme comes the
representation of the total lack of diversity that was implemented in this time. Not necessarily in race,
but in ideas. Men like Roosevelt thought that there was one way to view the country and if not that
way than the ideas are wrong. Although some people still think that way today, there is a lot more

The Carved Vessel Summary
In around 3300 3000 BCE a sculptor created the Carved Vessel, from a stone referred to as Alabaster.
This vessel was produced in Uruk which is currently known as Warka, Iraq. Through the subject
matter, registers, and overall style, the sculptor of the Carved Vessel presented an organized story
about making sacrificial offerings to ensure a plentiful harvest. The main subjects of this story would
be the Sumerians and the goddess Inanna. Because in the process of the story it s the Sumerian people
who need the harvest and it s Inanna that they re presenting the sacrifices to for divine intervention in
a positive crop yield. It becomes clear that the goddess plays the most critical role in this ritualistic
story because of the sculptor s use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Considering the wave pattern of oceanic water this could depict water, or more specifically the Tigris
and Euphrates, which could have been their source of water. Then, in the next register, there are
distinctively grain plants, and through the process of the story it can be understood that this is the main
crop that the Sumerian people are hoping for a large upcoming harvest with. Next, there is a register of
rams and ewu and it is quite possible that they were used as sacrifices also, but they are not viewed as
being as vital as the grain because of their hieratic scale height. As the viewer looks up to the next
register, there is the men with the baskets, and the baskets have the sacrificial offerings to be taken to
the goddess. This register also raises the idea that women or children were not permitted to present
offerings to this goddess, because none are depicted. Perhaps due to the critical nature of the sacrifice
the task was left solely for men to perform. However, in the final register, the divine form that the
people are depicted presenting the sacrifices to as an offer for a plentiful harvest is the goddess

Anaylsis of a Dinner and Production
Because there was no program or playbill to accompany this production, there was no way to know
the names of the actors or actresses. The best character within the show was Sheriff Dooley Neal. Neal
was a young man who had been brought into the city by Mayor Timothy O Reilly, a corrupt politician
who is willing to acquire money by any means necessary. Neal believed that he was getting the job of
his lifetime, until O Reilly puts him in the middle of a feud between two singing and dancing families:
the Hatfield s and the McCoy s. Throughout the production, he was constantly being tricked into being
in the middle of the feud and getting in trouble for things that were not necessarily his fault. There
were a few malfunctions with the props during the production, however. For example, there was a
scene in which Neal had to shoot his gun and break a window in a barn. He made the shooting motion,
but the sound of the shot had not appeared until about one minute had passed. He and the Mayor, the
only other person in the scene, had burst out in laughter but improvised the entire scene. Their
laughter made it clear that it was not supposed to happen like that, but they attempted to play it off in
such a way that it seemed like it was a perfectly normal mishap. Minutes later, they regained their
composure and continued onto the next scene. Another great character in the dinner show was Ma

Gas audibly leaked out at high pressure, ignited and exploded and produces a catastrophic fire which

Why Did the Railroad Network Grow so Rapidly After the...
Adults are motivated entirely different in the way they learn. Adults are motivated to learn for various
reasons such as professional development, potential advancement at work or simply continuing to
improve ones lives, as one gets older. However, it is but practical to consider the ideas on how adults
are motivated to learn, what principles of learning works, so that adult educators could likewise
respond appropriately. The participatory worldview that author Lyle Yorks (2005) describes draws
heavily on the theory and practice in adult learning and action research. This creates a kind of social

Providing renewed hope in the face of adversities and depressing events that may otherwise cause
individuals to descend into the negative behavior. Brookfield (2005) addressed the third aspect of
adult learning as transformative. Adult learners are exposed to learning in the workplace. Within the
workplace, adult workers learn to be critical in analyzing their assumptions regarding the structure
business model before reaching a decision that may affect a company s performance. They view this
in conjunction with market realities before arriving at decision that may make or break the company.
For society in general, this suggest that lifelong learning is obtained as the main strategy in ensuring
the future abundance of countries such as the UK since it ensures its vision to build a new culture of
learning (Boshier, 2006, p.11). This new culture of learning can involve online learning which is very
useful in the adult learning process. It is important to help students become technically savvy in our
classrooms. What people know about online learners may not be properly addressed through one s
teaching so that educators need to collaborate so that they can share contemporary researches on the
subject (Martinez, 2010, p. 353). In Conclusion, motivation theories formed the cornerstone of adult
learning. Indeed, technology is here to stay and it has become part of the education environment.

Kinesthetic Communicator Research Paper
Kinesthetic Communicators. The last group is kinesthetic communicators who learn through
experiencing and through touch. Their interest is in how a message FEELS. They memorize by doing

kinesthetic communicator more words to articulate what they are trying to say. When talking, their

Abstract
This paper is a detailed interpretation of the movie The Day After Tomorrow. I will be thoroughly
going through this movie and how it connects with my personal philosophy of nature. This movie is a
representation of Global Warming and the drastic effects that it can have on this Earth. Although the
movie might be greatly over exaggerated, it is meant to stir the audience and conjure up emotions and
feelings of wanting to change. I would never want to see the world come to that much turmoil, which
is why there is an urgency to act now before we see our world destroyed. The paper will include my
thoughts on the movie, other writer s contributions of thoughts on the movie and global warming, my
personal philosophy of nature and how we can redeem ourselves from our influences towards global
warming.

Artificial Intelligence In Chapppie
In a world where Artificially Intelligent robot police keep the streets in order, smarter inventions are
bound to arise. In the movie Chappie, the main character Chappie, is programmed with a new system
that can make him feel and think independently. This film relates to the philosophers Searle and
Turing due to their similar topics of Artificial Intelligence.
Searle distinguishes two types of Artificial Intelligence which is Strong Artificial Intelligence and
Weak Artificial Intelligence. They are both categorized based on the objectives that the inventors and
researchers are concentrated on attaining. Strong Artificial Intelligence is a computer programmed to
mimic the behavior of a human would possess intelligence. Intelligence is ... Show more content on

On this view intelligence is just being able to imitate or mimic what a human being does. So, a
computer that can pass a turing test is intelligent. Chappie relates to Turing s position because Chappie
speaks and acts the same as a human, if it wasn t for his appearance it would be very difficult to
differentiate Chappie from a human. This film fully supports Turing because Chappie perfectly
represents Strong Artificial Intelligence. As soon as Chappie is created by his inventor, he establishes
a mother and father figure for himself. He grows up the same as a child does, starting from scratch and
learning by watching and listening to his surroundings. Then, Chappie soon gets his own ideas and
opinions the more time goes by. He acts and thinks independently, just the same as a human being,
therefore he is truly intelligent.
The Chinese Room Argument is Searle s refutation of Strong Artificial Intelligence. The idea will be
that we have an entity that will pass a Turing Test, but which clearly lacks intelligence, therefore it
represents Weak Artificial Intelligence. The Chinese Room argument Searle created has an English
speaker in a room with chinese writing and symbols and rules in English for translating a words into a
symbol. Just because the person can translate a symbol into a word does not make the room
intelligent. The answers come out right, but that

In contrast, commercial organisations actively adopt emerging SCM techniques and have responded to
volatile and dynamic markets by developing agile supply chains. These agile supply chains build
flexible and responsive capabilities in terms of their processes, networks and how they are integrated
across other organisations (Van Hoek et al., 2001). We investigate the applicability of the agility
concept to the HA supply chain, specifically NGOs, and present the results of our exploratory
investigation. This provides an exciting opportunity to develop and extend the potential originally
suggested by Oloruntoba and Gray (2006), and contribute to the theoretical underpinning of this under

from commercial to HA organisations, we gain insights into how NGOs specifically, and HA agencies

Comparing Revelation On The Relationship Of Church And State
Paper 1: Comparing Revelation to Eusebius on the Relationship of Church and State
After reading chapters twelve through thirteen and seventeen through nineteen from the book of
Revelation, I have attained knowledge that allows me to see how the author of Revelation perceives
the Roman Empire. From the beginning of chapter twelve it is clearly portrayed that the woman who
is in the sky, about to give birth, is meant to symbolize Mary the mother of Jesus, or even Israel, the
birthplace of Jesus. The Dragon of course, represents Satan. When the Dragon is thrown down to
Earth due to its repulsive actions of trying to harm the woman s baby, it decides to make war against
the faithful Christians. As the story progresses in chapter thirteen, a ... Show more content on

Overall, the Roman Empire is perceived as an evil given its unruly authority and power from Satan
himself. Rome s relationship with Satan (the Dragon) is viewed as a partnership. Satan and the Roman
Empire both wanted to persecute Christians, and Satan provided Rome with the opportunity to do so
by giving them such power and authority over everything. Men worshipped the dragon because he had
given authority to the beast, and they all worshiped the beast (Revelation 13:4 New International
Version). Although Rome pretty much had this partnership with Satan, God/Jesus was and is still in
control and that s what chapter nineteen in the book of Revelation reassures for its readers. After this I
heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting (Revelation 19:1 New
International Version). This is a victory song and also assurance to the persecuted Christians of Asia
Minor that God is still in control and always will be and that everything will fall into place when the
time is right and when he plans for it to. God defeated the whore of Babylon and therefore defeated
the Roman Empire once and for all.
I believe that there were major social and historical factors that played a crucial role in influencing the
writing of the book of Revelation due to the fact that there was so much past heat between Christians
and the Roman Empire. There were several

Alan Mann Short Story
Alan Mann s Life Story
Alan Mann
Southeastern Oklahoma State University
Alan Mann s Life Story Alan Mann was born in 1974 in the city of Monroe, Michigan. Monroe is
about 40 miles South of Detroit on Lake Erie. He has two older brothers named Jason and Michael.
Alan s parents met when they were in the Navy. His father changed services to the Army and was
stationed in Monroe as a recruiter after returning from the Vietnam War. Being born the son of an
Army member makes one an Army Brat which means moving very often and attending several
schools over one s lifetime (Baker, 2015). One of his earliest memories is of his mother bundling him
up to go outside in the heavy snows of a Michigan winter storm. In 1978, the family moved to Mainz,
Germany where he attended the first grade. While stationed there, the family visited many German
castles, learned a lot of German history, went on Volksmarches which were noncompetitive
walkathons (AVA) and met a lot of interesting people. In 1981, the family moved back to the United
States to Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. There, Alan attended Logan Heights Elementary School. His
house was on a street that had a dead end. Beyond the dead end was literally the desert complete with
cactuses, tumbleweeds, horned frogs, and tarantulas. He loved going over the border to Juarez,
Mexico with the family and haggling with the merchants for items. Finally, in 1982 the family moved
to Ft. Polk, Louisiana for his last move which is where his father retired from the military. In
Louisiana, Alan attended Leesville Junior High and High School. He graduated with honors in 1992.
He enrolled at Northwestern State University for the fall semester. However, he was working full time,
had an hour long commute to classes, and a new girlfriend that would soon be his wife. His grades
weren t very good. Alan decided perhaps he was ready for a break from school and was ready to do a
little growing up . Having a long history of military service in his family, he looked to do his duty and
serve also. After talking with the recruiters in his home town, the Air Force seemed to have the jobs he
found most interesting. He took the ASVAB test and scored high enough to select any job the Air

First Nation People In Canada
Since the Hudson s Bay Company is very famous in Canada, I have known it since I landed in
Canada. However, I never thought it had so long history, 343 years, and the strong relationship with
the First Nation people. I never despise the importance of First Nation people in Canada s history, and,
now, I believe that the initial wealth of this country was based on the First Nation people and the fur
trading. It is true that the fur trade had brought many convenient fools and many opportunities to
Aboriginal people, but the negative effect of it should not be neglected, since it had completely
changed their life style and badly impacted on their culture.
First of all, the fur trading ended the traditional lives of the First Peoples lived in Canada. I have

but not even close to the number that the UN works in. As of today, only 71 countries are eligible to be

they want to accomplish, either short term or long term. Those goals include, maintaining worldwide
peace and security, protecting human rights, deliver humanitarian aid, promote sustainable
development and uphold international law. Conversely, DWB only really has one thing they want to
accomplish. It is to help people recover from life threatening events or sicknesses. Even though the
UN and DWB have around the same percentage of money going toward the program, they have quite
different amounts going to management and general overhead. 7.2% of the money that the UN
receives goes to the administrative. Unlike DWB which gives a mere 1.5% to the management. This is
a good thing because it leaves more money for the program and for fundraising. Another difference is
who can work for the organization. To work for the UN, you need to believe in impartiality, neutrality,
independence and bearing witness. With DWB, you also need to be a skilled medic. This gives fewer

The Bombing Of The Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building
The event that I chose was the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown
Oklahoma City by an ex Army soldier and security guard named Timothy McVeigh. He parked a
rented Ryder truck in front of the building loaded with a powerful bomb made out of a deadly cocktail
of agricultural fertilizer, diesel fuel, and other chemicals. The bomb went off at 9:02 a.m. When the
smoke cleared the area looked like a war zone. Half of the building had been reduced to rubble,
surrounding cars were incinerated and nearby buildings were damaged or destroyed. The death toll
was very devastating: 168 people, including 19 children were killed that day not to mention several
hundred more injured in the blast. The bombing was considered the worst act of homegrown terrorism
in the nation s history (fbi.gov).
On April 20, axle of the Ryder truck was found, investigators were able to find the vehicle
identification number that was traced to a body shop in Junction City, Kansas.Employees of the show
were able to help investigators with a description of the man who rented the van. After agents showed
the drawing around town, a local hotel employee supplied a name: Tim McVeigh.
On April 21 it was discovered that McVeigh was already in jail. He had been pulled over about 80
miles north of Oklahoma City by a Oklahoma State Trooper who noticed a missing license plate on his
car. It was 90 minutes after the bombing. Agents found traces of the chemicals that were used for

List Of A Honor Code By Refraining From Lying, Stealing,...

Intro to History
I pledge to follow the Honor Code by refraining from lying, stealing, or cheating. I pledge that I have
not and will not receive any unauthorized help on any assignment or assessment. The Bible provides
much information on ancient history and the ancient Hebrews, but we can not verify the truth behind
many of the passages from the Bible.. Few evidence has been found to support much of what the Bible
states as history, and many people doubt the actual cosmos of the Hebrew people, meaning they doubt
that Yahweh actually even existed. The combination of archaeological evidence and Biblical stories
allow for some confirmation of the truth, including the origins of Abraham, the Hebrews journey into
Canaan, the flaws in the Hebrews monotheism, the destruction of Solomon s temple, the conquering
of the Israelite kingdom, and the evidence of Israel s waning power following the death of Solomon.
The origins of the Hebrews can be traced back to Abraham, who the Bible depicts as the patriarch of
Judaism. Yahweh promises to Abraham and his descendants the land of Canaan, saying [t]o your
offspring I will give this land (Gen. 12:7 8). Abraham lived around the year 4000 B.C.E., and the
Bible claims he lived in Ur, an ancient city in southern Mesopotamia, on a former branch of the
Euphrates river. Archaeologists estimated the size of Ur to have been around 25 acres. The Bible
described Abraham s journey from Ur to

The Need for a National Missile Defense Program in the United States
Several hundred Soviet, nuclear tipped, ballistic missiles streak towards the United States without any
form of opposition or challenge to their impeding destruction. The result of a situation like this would
be no doubt disastrous, but it is a situation that could very well take place if the United States does not
install a national ballistic missile defense program. An anti ballistic missile (ABM) system is a
precaution that the American government must pursue with all of its resources in order to protect and
preserve our society as we know it.

A calculated and combined attack could easily place nuclear ICBMs all over most of the continental
U.S.. Even when the Taepo Dong missile was tested on August 31, 1998 an Iranian delegation was
flown to North Korea bringing with them an entire plane load of telemetry equipment to monitor the
test. Shortly after the test the delegation returned to Iran with the full results of the test. The very test
of the North Korean Taepo Dong missile just goes to show how very clueless the United States is as to
the development of ICBMs by foreign countries. The CIA s national intelligence officer for strategic
and nuclear programs, Robert D. Walpole, admitted that nobody in the intelligence community
expected North Korea to develop an ICBM capability so soon. Although the launch of the Taepo Dong
1 missile was expected for some time, its use as a space launch vehicle with a third stage was not. The
existence of a third stage concerns us. We hadn t anticipated it. Debris from the rocket s third stage
was found some 3,500 miles from the site of the launch, showing that North Korea has the ability to

Procedures And Procedures Of Medical Coding
Medical coding is a very detailed process in which health care professionals use to code an insurance
claim, to submit for reimbursement of services. In the following scenario, my task would be to explain
the process and steps I took, to code patients cases using ICD 9. When coding it s very important to
code correctly to avoid delays in reimbursement and proper reimbursement. The following will
explain the steps I took to perform proper medical coding. When I code with ICD 9 I generally weed
out the diagnosis that has been stated and where on the body this diagnosis came from. Some terms
you want to avoid performing when coding a claim are, unbundling, upcoding, overcoding, jamming,
and downcoding (Green, M, 2014, pg. 12). Those terms are when you code claim improperly which
can cause delays and in some cases audits can happen, and insurance companies can revoke your
rights to submit claims to them. That could detrimental to a small practice because they wouldn t be
able to accept that insurance and bill claims, so patients would have to find another provider. There is
a Code of Ethics that helps differentiate the rights and wrongs with guidelines for ethical coding
practices (pg. 13). After I locate the correct term to code, I locate the code in the tabular list, which is
arranged numerically (Optum coding, 2015, pg. VI). While analyzing a code it s important to look for
keywords to make sure you pick the appropriate code. Some words to look for are, excludes, includes,

The Importance Of Parental Involvement In Education
Parental Involvement in regards to education is huge. Parents are the people advocating for the
children. It is important for teachers to have a good relationship with parents in order to make the best
decisions for the child. Teachers and parents can come together to make these decisions. In regards to
special education, the parental involvement MUST be there. Parents need to make sure their child is in
the right seating, receive all their services and receiving the assistive technology device that is right
for their child. Parents know their child more than anyone on this earth. Teachers do know students
pretty well but they don t see what the child is like at home or sometimes get to see the student s true
personality. Teachers can effectively choose assistive technology for students but, what works for one
student may not work for all. This is where the parental involvement needs to kick in. For example: a
student may suffer from speech difficulties and can communicate a little with sign language. The
teacher can say switch to a communication board with the parent might say my child doesn t make
decisions well and therefore communication boards might not be effective . The parent truly knows
their child and can assist the teacher will deciding what assistive technology device the child needs. In

New Zealanders Should Never Dream Of Being Cruel
New Zealanders would never dream of being cruel to an animal. After all animals are sentient beings.
Therefore they are capable of being aware of sensations and emotions of feeling pain and suffering. In
today s world, factory farming has become popular as they are cheaper ways to produce more output
efficiently. The industry strives to maximize output and revenue while minimising cost at the expense
of animals. The giant companies that run most of the factory farming have developed caging systems
which allow for greater animals to be living in small crammed space for greater profit and
output. These animals are deprived of exercise of that their body s energy contributes more towards
producing flesh, milk or egg. Drugs are fed and animals are being genetically altered to be grown fat
so they could keep them alive longer. We as humans, eat a lot of eggs. Just over 3 million eggs are
consumed by New Zealanders and the vast majority of these eggs are produced from factory farmed
eggs (Hibbard, 2014). The factory farmed hens are placed in small battery hen cages allowing space
similar to an A4 size sheet. These animals have their beaks trimmed to minimise feather pecking and
cannibalism in this overcrowded conditions. De beaking is an extremely painful process, which is
carried out with a guillotine type machine or chopped off with a hot knife machine that burns it off.

not stop or pay attention to the road. Construction road work is a stressful situation that puts everyone
involved at risk. Road construction accidents are a problem caused by following too close to the
leading vehicle, failing to slow down, and incorrect lane changes First, one way road construction
causes accidents by failure to slow down when entering work zones. Work zones on the road put
construction workers and drivers at risk. Neighborhood repaving, bridge repairs, and road repairs have
the number of accidents on the rise. Motorist have to maneuver around construction workers, barrels,

Meteorology Essay
Part one: Explain the difference between Climate, Weather and Meteorology.
Despite the fact that weather, climate and meteorology are correlated; all three topics differ from each
other. With this out of the way, meteorology is defined as the study of both the atmosphere s climate
and weather. The main difference in between climate and weather is that they are determined by time;
meaning that weather is known as the conditions of the atmosphere over a short period of time, while
climate is the average conditions recorded of the atmosphere s weather over a long period of time.
For instance, when we talk about climate change we are talking about how the atmosphere s average
behavior has changed over time based on the current weather. Weather is reported daily through
current measured aspects of the atmosphere like temperature, wind speed and direction, dew point,
pressure and precipitation. Over time, these daily weather variables help meteorologists determine the
climate for the given region they are analyzing. By determining the climate of the region,
meteorologists are able to roughly predict the weather for the future.
In summary, with the help of science and technology, meteorologists are able to accurately predict
what the weather of a region will be for the next few days. While, knowing the climate of the given
region, they are able to make rough predictions on what the

Christianity In The Church, Christianity, And Christianity
Christianity today stands as the most popular religion in the entire world. Statistically, out of every
three people in the world one is Christian. During the time of Christ, roughly 30 AD, are the first
examples of Christian worship. The religion spread across the European nations and churches began to
spring up both in the West, Romanesque and Gothic, and in the East, Byzantine.
Both sectors of Europe agree that the main purpose of a church is to establish a connection to heaven
and the center of this relation is the Lord Jesus Christ. Throughout both churches, you find the Good
Shepherd, appears as a child, a beardless man, and a Bearded Man. All forms generally depict Christ
with a halo quartered by a cross about his head. However, the method in which symbolism
incorporated into each church varies.
Byzantine churches created their own little heaven on earth with their churches. Paul Meyendorff
describes each aspect of the church and how to the Byzantines, each part of the church held spiritual
importance to be represented in the architecture thereof. For example, at the east end of the church the
apse resided, the apse alluded to the cave wherein Christ was born as well as the one that held him
after his death.
Andrew Palmer described the domes and barrel vaults of the church of Hagia Sophia as representing
the heavens above and the corners of the earth. Byzantine churches employed massive piers to support
the weight of the heavy dome. The architects added to the

Postindustrial Societies And Its Impact On The US
The daily life s for postindustrial, industrial and preindustrial societies are all different. Their
descriptions of each might sound familiar but are upgraded each time. Preindustrial is the oldest
society because it is based near the Industrial Revolution. It amazes me how far our societies have
come and how they have impacted the US. If you don t know anything about these societies your
about to. Postindustrial society is where the economic importance is about providing information and
services. In postindustrial societies information and advanced technology are more important than
manufacturing goods. Post industrialization can be found in places like Europe, Japan, even the United
States. A postindustrial society sometimes follows a industrialized

Economic Effects Of The Great Depression
Economic Fallout
On October 29, 1929, Black Tuesday, the United States of America s stock market crashed causing the
Great Depression. The Great Depression of the 1930 s greatly impacted millions of people s lives
around the world. The Depression caused millions of people to lose their homes, jobs and food for
their families. The events causing, during, and after the Great Depression will forever be an important
part of American History that will never be forgotten.
The events that leading up to and caused the Depression date all the way back to World War I. After a
small economic downfall after the First World War, the economy began to boom in 1924 . The United
States economy boomed until 1929 and was at an all time high in 1928 due to the lowering of taxes .
One of the many reasons that caused the Great Depression was an overproduction of goods. During
World War, the consumption of goods was unbelievably high. When the war ended the United States
did not slow down on production and eventually had too much product for the demand. With the
numbers of products being sold, no one needed to buy anything because they had already stocked up
on everything needed. A Second reason for the Great Depression was the lack of foreign trade around
the world. In 1930, President Herbert Hoover passed the Smoot Hawley Tariff Act . The Act increased
Tariffs to such a high rate, that no countries would trade with the United States . International trade
has fallen by two thirds since

  • 2. A Summary Of The Ancient Greek And The Byzantine Empires Both the Ancient Greek and the Byzantine Empires have a long and familiar history with warfare, acclimated to crushing losses and sweeping victories. In Greece, military action has fended off the Persian invaders and brought warring city states deep set rivalries. Within the Byzantine Empire, conquest has brought Rome back into the Roman Empire. Despite both civilizations high esteem in military conquest and glory, they had contrasting views of warfare and how their respective armies went to work. The Greek Classical Terracotta volute krater, attributed to the Painter of the Woolly Satyr, illustrates two messy front line battles in separate registers. Meanwhile, from the Early Byzantine period, the silver Plate with the Battle of David and Goliath depicts not so much a battle between two armies, but rather a dramatic yet organized duel, over the course of 3 registers. From these two pieces, one could all but assume one statement: of the artists and commissioners of the terracotta volute krater and the Plate with the Battle of David and Goliath, only those of the former have seen battle. In the terracotta volute krater, the viewer immediately sees from any angle that there is indeed a raging battle afoot in the register occupying the body of the vase. The amazonachae, a battle between the mythical Amazon (a race of warrior women) and Greeks, were a popular subject of works, particularly in Athens. On one face of the neck of the vase, there rages a fight between centaurs and Lapiths. Meanwhile, the Byzantine Plate with the Battle of David and Goliath depicts the titular duel from the holy text. Despite drawing the viewer s eyes to the larger middle register depicting the biblical fight, the silver plate s top register begins the plate s narrative: David is confronting the giant Goliath. More importantly, among the two holding their hands out in blessing (thumb to ring finger), David has the the blessing of God (depicted as a hand descending from the sky). In this narrative, David s victory is assured; after all, he has the approval of God; such is not the case in the amazonachae nor the centauromachia depicted on the volute krater, in which victory is still uncertain. Needless to say, these works of art do not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Pros And Cons Of Corporal Punishment A new study suggested that kids who suffered spanking may have relationship issues later in life. According to the researchers, led by Dr. Jeff R. Temple of the University of Texas Medical Branch, children who experienced corporal punishment have a tendency for domestic abuse upon adulthood. In the study, the researchers surveyed 758 young adults, 61 percent were female, with a mean age of 20 years. They asked the participants on how often they were slapped, spanked or struck with an object as punishment when they were young. The participants who experienced such punishment in their childhood admitted to committing abuse on their dating partners. The findings specifically noted 68 percent of the participants experienced corporal punishment as children, while 19 percent reported physical dating abuse perpetration. The result was sustained even with controlled factors, such as gender, age, ethnicity, parental education, child physical abuse, and childhood corporal punishment. Corporal or physical punishment is a punishment designed to cause physical pain to a person, commonly practiced at home and school settings. The common methods of corporal punishment are spanking and paddling. The subject is a controversial topic even if it clearly delivers negative effects in children. Researchers blame genetics and how it is passed down from generation to generation through shared chromosomes. If they don t blame genetics they blame the adaptation of species or the animals consumed by the population. However, these animals carry what they consume: plants, insects, water, oxygen, and any other animal the predators consume. People eat the meat, the vegetables, and breathe the oxygen that the trees let out during photosynthesis, the food chain is being disrupted because of the impact that the humans have on the ecosystem and vice versa. The realistic view of what is happening is that citizens are innovating having the tendency to litter, industries are being created causing pollution and oil spills, malls are being made while parks and forests are being cut down for parking. With this said, the ecosystem is, in reality, the reason for the diseases affecting human health. As the environment changes in the community, the human species struggle to adapt and accommodate themselves because of pollution in the air, land, and water causing problems such as Cancer, Asthma, and other diseases. A person should have the desire to serve others, in order to be a servant leader. The following paper will address several key components of the servant leadership philosophy related to the book: The Servant: A Simple Story About the True Essence of Leadership, written by James C. Hunter. First, I will examine the theory of servant leadership including its history, definitions, and major concepts. Next, the function of this leadership style in the field of nursing and nursing roles will be discussed. Finally, how this philosophy can be utilized in my personal nursing practice and how the theory has sparked personal growth in myself as a leader will be examined. History of Servant Leadership The philosophy of servant leadership began with Robert K. Greenleaf in 1977. He first came about the idea of servant leadership while reading Journey to the East by Herman Hesse (Keith, 2016). This is a story of a group of travelers who were served by a man named Leo. He performed their menial chores and lifted their spirits with his song and his spirit (Keith, 2016). Leo disappeared one day, throwing the travelers into disarray (Keith, 2016). This ended the journey of the travelers. Many years later, one of the travelers saw Leo in a new job role as the head of the order that once sponsored the journey (Keith, 2016). Once a servant, ... Fear of one s team being in a losing streak, who never seem to win, sports fans try to hold on to a sense of hope and something to believe in that could explain the reasoning as to why they haven t won for a period of time. However, there is no logical evidence that superstitious or curses are the cause of a team lost in a game. People are always trying to fill in the gaps of what could cause such a loss, and when they can t find a legitimate reason they direct their attention to superstition. • 12. Realism In The Picture Of Dorian Gray Wilde combines both the ornamental and the natural elements of the definition of aestheticism here by describing both the Persian saddle bags and honey coloured blossoms. The set description is so enamoring that one could almost miss Lord Henry Wotton, instead engaging their imagination in the appreciation of the objects around him. The descriptions are so elegantly articulated by Wilde that they can only be imagined through their beauty alone; one would not imagine plain tables and chairs while reading this, and the descriptions are certainly not modest as George Eliot describes in her definition of realism. This also eliminates any need for a collective spectacle; the objects simply are what they are. The entertaining language that Wilde uses in his descriptions work in satisfying his argument for aestheticism. Wilde also spends a lot of his time making the characters in The Picture of Dorian Gray aesthetic focused. For Wilde, the only character who gives in to the idea of realism is Basil Hallward by putting far too much of himself into his own painting. Basil is the physical characterization of Wilde s criticism of artists in his preface; he does not conceal the artist when creating Dorian s portrait. These agile supply chains build flexible and responsive capabilities in terms of their processes, networks and how they are integrated across other organisations (Van Hoek et al., 2001). We investigate the applicability of the agility concept to the HA supply chain, specifically NGOs, and present the results of our exploratory investigation. Comparing Revelation On The Relationship Of Church And State Paper 1: Comparing Revelation to Eusebius on the Relationship of Church and State After reading chapters twelve through thirteen and seventeen through nineteen from the book of Revelation, I have attained knowledge that allows me to see how the author of Revelation perceives the Roman Empire. From the beginning of chapter twelve it is clearly portrayed that the woman who is in the sky, about to give birth, is meant to symbolize Mary the mother of Jesus, or even Israel, the birthplace of Jesus. The Dragon of course, represents Satan. When the Dragon is thrown down to Earth due to its repulsive actions of trying to harm the woman s baby, it decides to make war against the faithful Christians. As the story progresses in chapter thirteen, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Overall, the Roman Empire is perceived as an evil given its unruly authority and power from Satan himself. Rome s relationship with Satan (the Dragon) is viewed as a partnership. Satan and the Roman Empire both wanted to persecute Christians, and Satan provided Rome with the opportunity to do so by giving them such power and authority over everything. Men worshipped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they all worshiped the beast (Revelation 13:4 New International Version). Although Rome pretty much had this partnership with Satan, God/Jesus was and is still in control and that s what chapter nineteen in the book of Revelation reassures for its readers. After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting (Revelation 19:1 New International Version). This is a victory song and also assurance to the persecuted Christians of Asia Minor that God is still in control and always will be and that everything will fall into place when the time is right and when he plans for it to. God defeated the whore of Babylon and therefore defeated the Roman Empire once and for all. I believe that there were major social and historical factors that played a crucial role in influencing the writing of the book of Revelation due to the fact that there was so much past heat between Christians and the Roman Empire. Monroe is about 40 miles South of Detroit on Lake Erie. He has two older brothers named Jason and Michael. Alan s parents met when they were in the Navy. His father changed services to the Army and was stationed in Monroe as a recruiter after returning from the Vietnam War. Being born the son of an Army member makes one an Army Brat which means moving very often and attending several schools over one s lifetime (Baker, 2015). One of his earliest memories is of his mother bundling him up to go outside in the heavy snows of a Michigan winter storm. In 1978, the family moved to Mainz, Germany where he attended the first grade. While stationed there, the family visited many German castles, learned a lot of German history, went on Volksmarches which were noncompetitive walkathons (AVA) and met a lot of interesting people. In 1981, the family moved back to the United States to Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. There, Alan attended Logan Heights Elementary School. His house was on a street that had a dead end. Beyond the dead end was literally the desert complete with cactuses, tumbleweeds, horned frogs, and tarantulas. He loved going over the border to Juarez, Mexico with the family and haggling with the merchants for items. Finally, in 1982 the family moved to Ft. Polk, Louisiana for his last move which is where his father retired from the military. In Louisiana, Alan attended Leesville Junior High and High School. He graduated with honors in 1992. He enrolled at Northwestern State University for the fall semester. However, he was working full time, had an hour long commute to classes, and a new girlfriend that would soon be his wife. His grades weren t very good. Alan decided perhaps he was ready for a break from school and was ready to do a little growing up . Nicholas Buhay Mrs. Drewicz Ewing October 21, 2016 Intro to History I pledge to follow the Honor Code by refraining from lying, stealing, or cheating. I pledge that I have not and will not receive any unauthorized help on any assignment or assessment. The Bible provides much information on ancient history and the ancient Hebrews, but we can not verify the truth behind many of the passages from the Bible.. Few evidence has been found to support much of what the Bible states as history, and many people doubt the actual cosmos of the Hebrew people, meaning they doubt that Yahweh actually even existed. The combination of archaeological evidence and Biblical stories allow for some confirmation of the truth, including the origins of Abraham, the Hebrews journey into Canaan, the flaws in the Hebrews monotheism, the destruction of Solomon s temple, the conquering of the Israelite kingdom, and the evidence of Israel s waning power following the death of Solomon. The origins of the Hebrews can be traced back to Abraham, who the Bible depicts as the patriarch of Judaism. Yahweh promises to Abraham and his descendants the land of Canaan, saying [t]o your offspring I will give this land (Gen. 12:7 8). Abraham lived around the year 4000 B.C.E., and the Bible claims he lived in Ur, an ancient city in southern Mesopotamia, on a former branch of the Euphrates river. When coding it s very important to code correctly to avoid delays in reimbursement and proper reimbursement. The following will explain the steps I took to perform proper medical coding. When I code with ICD 9 I generally weed out the diagnosis that has been stated and where on the body this diagnosis came from. Difference Between Climate, Weather And Meteorology Alejandro Delapena Atmospheric Sciences 100 May 11, 2016 Austin Harris Meteorology Essay Part one: Explain the difference between Climate, Weather and Meteorology. Despite the fact that weather, climate and meteorology are correlated; all three topics differ from each other. With this out of the way, meteorology is defined as the study of both the atmosphere s climate and weather. The main difference in between climate and weather is that they are determined by time; meaning that weather is known as the conditions of the atmosphere over a short period of time, while climate is the average conditions recorded of the atmosphere s weather over a long period of time. For instance, when we talk about climate change we are talking about how the atmosphere s average behavior has changed over time based on the current weather. Weather is reported daily through current measured aspects of the atmosphere like temperature, wind speed and direction, dew point, pressure and precipitation. Over time, these daily weather variables help meteorologists determine the climate for the given region they are analyzing. By determining the climate of the region, meteorologists are able to roughly predict the weather for the future. In summary, with the help of science and technology, meteorologists are able to accurately predict what the weather of a region will be for the next few days. Statistically, out of every three people in the world one is Christian. During the time of Christ, roughly 30 AD, are the first examples of Christian worship. The religion spread across the European nations and churches began to spring up both in the West, Romanesque and Gothic, and in the East, Byzantine. Both sectors of Europe agree that the main purpose of a church is to establish a connection to heaven and the center of this relation is the Lord Jesus Christ. Throughout both churches, you find the Good Shepherd, appears as a child, a beardless man, and a Bearded Man. All forms generally depict Christ with a halo quartered by a cross about his head. However, the method in which symbolism incorporated into each church varies. Byzantine churches created their own little heaven on earth with their churches. Paul Meyendorff describes each aspect of the church and how to the Byzantines, each part of the church held spiritual importance to be represented in the architecture thereof. For example, at the east end of the church the apse resided, the apse alluded to the cave wherein Christ was born as well as the one that held him after his death.
