Anorexia Nervosa And Its Effects On Society
Millions of people are currently suffering from Anorexia. Anorexia Nervosa is an eating disorder in
which people suffering drastically restrict food intake due to an intense fear of gaining weight and a
distorted body image. There has been an unfortunate increase in people suffering from Anorexia
Nervosa over the past several decades. Anorexia can be caused by a combination of social,
interpersonal, and psychological factors that must be resolved through treatment. Anorexia is an
extremely dangerous disorder that results in death for many people if not treated. Anorexia Nervosa
can occur at any point in life, but is most common in men and women ages twelve through twenty
five. However, anorexia is more commonly found in young women and girls than males (). Unhealthy
or odd weight management behaviors are particularly common in teens and adolescents. One study
found that Over one half of teenage girls and nearly one third of teenage boys use unhealthy weight
control behaviors such as skipping meals, fasting, smoking cigarettes, vomiting, and taking laxatives
(Neumark Sztainer, 2005). Unfortunately for many teens, these unhealthy behaviors can develop into
something more and eventually lead to anorexia or other eating disorders. Adolescents at this age and
time in their lives are becoming more aware of their body image and comparing themselves to others.
Many adolescents are so obsessive over their body image that they look to restricting food as a way of
controlling

Drivers Of Stability Of Mali
DRIVERS OF STABILITY IN MALI Percy L. Jones II MCCC 04 15 July 30, 2015 Drivers of
Stability in Mali The West African country of Mali has from time to time been mired in un ending
overlapping humanitarian, political, economic, and security crises. Notably, the situation in the
country became worse when the government was destabilized and later overthrown in a 2012 military
coup. Following the coup, insurgents were quick to capitalize on the resulting power vacuum and
seize a greater portion of this country s vast sparsely populated north. As of 2013, a number of loosely
connected extremist groups including Al Qaeda were in full control of most towns in the northern
region. It is estimated that the region that has from time to time fallen under their control is as large as
Texas. In as much as the number of insurgent combatants (mainly Islamic) seems to be relatively
small, they are now notorious, and have become more entrenched. The seriousness of their
entrenchment is boosted by the fact that they have gone as far as ousting a separatist group of ethnic
Tuaregs that had initially been very influential, even in recruiting members among locals. Meanwhile,
the nominally civilian dominated government (based in the capital Bamako) formed in the post coup
period continues to be weakened gradually by continuous internal wrangles and military interference.
In addition, years of mega corruption and mismanagement seem to have stagnated progress in many

In the past, large organizations have implemented language assessments aimed to assess learners
ability in the use of language in higher education. These high stake tests plays a vital role when
decisions made on individual performance and its outcome is considered as a diagnosis of the learners
ability.Among these performance, the International English Language Testing System ( IELTS)
writing score is considered by most universities a benchmark against learners success in higher
education. This has increase the concern of non native raters reliability and their consistency in rating
scores in countries these tests are adopted. Although these non native raters are qualified raters, it is
undeniable that comparing to native raters the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scholars perception of the rating process in writing assessments
In terms of rating process in writing assessments, pioneer studies in the field has construct distinct
themes of raters position in the rating process. The process was earlier addressed as decision making
process which evokes the raters cognitive thoughts, commonly effected by memory constraints, to
retrieve related information.(Cumming,1990;Lumley,2002;Baker ,2012) Raters of this process
perform by comparing similar constructions in written essays to rating scales.Retention of the
retrieved information are eventually affected by individual experiences and background. The
psychological process relies on the integration of former information that finally develop into a final
score. Since the final product of each rating process is a holistic score that has different interpretations
according the scale used in the rating process, the notion that such score may ignore to describe the
learner qualifications were raised.Weigle (2002) was able to show that raters often rate holistically
when using an analytic rating scale and adjust their scores to match the analytic criteria. Alderson
(2005) also suggests that diagnostic tests should focus on specific abilities rather than global
abilities.According to these reasons, other reseachers believe that rating is merely an interaction
between the rater and three certain things that is the essay, the task and the scale

New Business Model Of College Students
College students who have to have certain kind of software for school often find themselves in a
predicament when they cannot afford software that they need for a class whether it be for an English
major or Graphics Design major. Students are facing a new business model where companies like
adobe and Microsoft Office are making their software into a monthly payment instead of a one time
pay for the software. Software companies should not have their software on a monthly payment for
students because low budgets, users rent not own, and is it worth it.
In general college students are broke, students are doing good to buy ramen noodles for themselves.
How could they pay over $50 a month for something like Adobe Creative Cloud, $30 a month for
Grammarly, or $75 a year for Microsoft Office? The C Net report talks about how software and web

The Role Of Power For Private Gain As Defined By The...
Background: Corruption is the use of entrusted power for private gain as defined by the United
Nations Development Programme (UNDP 2008). This research studies the effects and consequences
of corruption in the Nigeria health care system. Like other sectors in Nigeria, the health sector is not
immune from corruption and this is because of the high demand for health care services which has
enormously created opportunity for individuals in health care delivery to manipulate the system to
their own advantages at the expense of the general public or consumers. The gap that this has created
has made it difficult for targets and health care priorities to be met due to the administrative distance
between governance and social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Health care delivery corruption in Nigeria prevails because there is no compliance to the rule of law,
the administrative system in Nigeria lacks transparency and trust, also the public sector which could
have acted as a check and balance is ruled by ineffective civil service codes and weak accountability
methods (Husmann, K. 2011).
Causes/Manifestations: Nigeria health system information is asymmetrical in nature and is susceptible
to corruption because large numbers of care givers see this as an opportunity to create systemic
hindrances and therefore discourage transparency and accountability. It was even argued that
consumers not only suffer the consequences of the infected system but also help to encourage the
corrupt system, it was reported that some patients believed that one cannot obtain high quality health
care unless one is socially or relatively connected to a health care worker, if not, one has to pay a bribe
as an incentive to receive health care from caregivers that are trained and paid for the job. This has
created a social norm in which bribing is deemed to be legitimate (Adegboyega et al 2012).
Another cause of this social norm is uncertainty regarding real projection of who will fall ill and to
allocate geographically types of illness associated to a region. This makes it difficult to allocate
resources adequately to

American Civil War and Sectionalism
1. Approximately 180,000 Negros served in the Union during the Civil War. The Negro Soldier was
overall a good one. One example was at the Assault on Fort Wagner, South Carolina. The 54th
Massachusetts Colored troops led the assault and scaled the fort s parapet and were only driven back
after brutal hand to hand fighting. The Negro faced some discrimination in the Union Army in areas
such as pay. It wasn t until June 15th, 1864 that the Congress granted equal pay to Negro troops.
Several Negro soldiers earned the Medal of Honor. The North attitude towards Negro troops was
mainly positive, while the South did not want Negros to serve in the Confederate Army. It wasn t until
the Confederates were running low on men did they allow Negros to serve. The Negros serving in the
North felt it as their duty to serve and support the cause for their own freedom.
2. General Ulysses S. Grant was a brilliant strategist and seemed to be able to plan out movements in
advance. The people of the North thought the tremendous casualties to be horrendous. But Grant knew
that the South s casualties to be much more than the North s. Grant did have the support and trust of
the North though and his record did well to deserve that support. His commanders trusted his
completely. Grant s idea of Total War was to break down the infrastructure of the South. The Siege of
Petersburg which lasted almost years, then the capture of Richmond is among the battles Grant

Andy Warhola
Andrew Warhola, or Andy Warhol as he later became known, was born on August 6, 1928 in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1936, at the age of 8, he contracted an A beta haemolytic streptococcal
infection, and subsequently developed the neurological disorder Sydenham s chorea, which is also
known as St. Vitus Dance. This neurological disorder, which is characterized by involuntary and
uncoordinated movements of the face, hands and feet, caused him to be bedridden. It was during this
time that young Andy Warhol was taught to draw by his mother, who possessed an impressive artistic
ability. He also sought solace from his disorder in comic books and fashion magazines, which would

Following market research that was conducted in 2005, analysts discovered that there was no
consumer trend in purchases. After deeper research, using the growing field of neuromarketing, they
discovered that this lack of trend was caused by the uniformity in label design across all flavors
offered by the company, as the consumers were not able to differentiate between the thirty two flavors
offered. The absence of a trend made it increasingly difficult for the company to decide what the most
popular flavor. Is it tomato soup, the classic chicken noodle, or perhaps cream of mushroom? Analysts
were still not able to detect a trend in purchases, and because of this, the Campbell Soup Company
made the decision to redesign the cans. This redesign, which was released in 2010, included switching
the iconic red top to the bottom of the can, removing the spoon from the soup, adding steam, and
overall modernizing the can s label design. In 2012, in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of Andy
Warhol s Campbell s Soup Cans, the Campbell Soup Company released limited edition tomato soup
cans, in a series of five, that featured the original label and bright colors that were characteristic of
Warhol s personal, pop art style. This limited edition product, sold at seventy five cents a can,
illustrates the iconography of the Campbell s can, as the company acknowledges the significance of

Essay about Big Business In The Gilded Age
The late 19th century and early 20th century, dubbed the Gilded Age by writer Mark Twain, was a
time of great growth and change in every aspect of the United States, and even more so for big
business. It was this age that gave birth to many of the important modern business practices we take
for granted today, and those in charge of business at the time were considered revolutionaries, whether
it was for the good of the people or the good of themselves. The exact period of time in which the
Gilded Age occurred is ever debatable, but most historians can at least agree that it started within the
20 years after the Civil War ended and lasted until the early 1920s. (West) The Gilded Age itself was
characterized by the beginnings of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This law forced the railroads to report to the federal government before making important decisions
like how much to charge customers. The railroad companies were outraged and used the defense that
their monopolies were almost automatically formed, but there was nothing they could do since the law
was federal. (Moritz 19 24, 28) Telegraph grids were another technological advancement of the Gilded
Age. For the first time in history, transcontinental communication was possible. People could now find
out about news from across the nation within minutes of it happening, instead of days as it sometimes
took before. Businesses took advantage of this by building plants and factories all across the country,
hiring managers for each individual outfit, and communicating among each location with ease.
(Sinclair 75) Telegraph lines were also a nurturing point for one of the most famous business tycoons
of the Gilded Age, Andrew Carnegie. (Carnegie 653) Carnegie not only got his start as a young Irish
immigrant working as a railroad telegraph operator, his first major corporation was the Keystone
Telegraph Company, in which he acquired the Pacific and Atlantic Telegraph Company. Carnegie
thought of giving up on business after having moderate success, but on a trip to England in 1872, he
met with Henry Bessemer and saw his plans for steel. (Carnegie

A Brief Note On The First Time Or Recreational Paddler
For the first time or recreational paddler there is perhaps nothing scarier than having your canoe or
kayak capsize. Sometimes it is caused by the incautious tilting their boat a little further than it is meant
to go, but very often it is caused be a force beyond your control. Waves or wake caused by wind,
swell, or boats very often lead to a capsized boat and possibly a paddler in distress. There are a few
techniques to help prevent this so you can enjoy your day on the water. Boat position or angle is a very
important factor in whether you will be knocked over or the wake will roll passed you. When a wake
is approaching you or you are entering a set of waves the appropriate position for you boat is to be
perpendicular with the them, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a canoe you have the ability to lower your center of gravity by dropping from your seat and
kneeling on the floor. These techniques will help your paddling abilities and give you an enjoyable
experience on the water rather than a terrifying one. It is also important to plan ahead and be cautious
of where you travel to avoid large waves and wake all together. Make sure to get a weather report. As
a novice paddler it is also important to avoid heavily trafficked boat channels. On windy days paddle
in sheltered coves and creeks, and always where a life jacket.
It s amazing to think that what started as a functional and vital form of transportation, is today one of
the world s most popular water sports and an Olympic activity. But that s exactly how canoeing and
kayaking has evolved. Ms that a canoe in your pocket or are you simply pleased to see me? No, it s a
kayak... . Many people are confused by the difference between a canoe and kayak. In simple terms, a
kayak has a closed deck (apart from the hole you sit in) and is powered using a double bladed paddle.
A canoe, on the other hand, is an open boat in which you can either stand up or kneel, and is powered
using a single bladed paddle. Many people use the term canoeing to describe the general sport, not to
define what type of boat is used, so that s what we ll do here. Canoeing s popularity is probably due to
the huge range of activities available within the sport. It caters for

Oppression on Women in Margaret Atwood s The Handmaid s Tale and Marjane Satrapi s Persepolis
Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi, is memoir of a little girl growing in Iran. She refers to a secular pre
revolutionary time through contrast, the oppressive characteristics of the fundamentalist government
upon women in particular. Her work is a lot similar to Margaret Atwood s, A Handmaid s Tale, in
which the protagonist Offred reflects upon her former life s freedom, cherishing her former name and
in doing so emphasizes the cloistered and enslaved life that she must now endure. Although both
Margaret Atwood and Satrapi show how a totalitarian state oppresses women in different ways by
taking away the freedom to think and decide for oneself, both ... Show more content on

In Haindmaid s Tale, women are divided into a small range of social categories, each one signified by
a specific color dress in a similar style: [...] her usual Martha s dress, which is dull green, like a
surgeon s gown of the time before. The dress is much like mine in shape, long and concealing, but
with a bib apron over it and without the white wings and the veil. She puts on the veil to go outside,
but nobody much cares who sees the face of a Martha. (9)
Martha s are made less by their clothes. When a woman is wearing the green Martha s dress no one is
interested in looking at her as a person. She is just a servant. Martha s dress makes the woman
serviceable not desirable, useful but undesirable.
Pride and dignity is taken away from women in Gilead. They are isolated from their families and are
tortured by their memories. They are handed a dress code depending on the role they play and are
forced to abide by that. After Satrapi designs a new uniform for her school, she says, this is how I
recovered my self esteem and my dignity. For the first time in a long time, I was happy with myself
(298).
Undeniably this dress code in both the books make women no longer an individual but an object for
specific use, stripping them of their identities and giving them no choice.

Characteristics Of Geoffrey Chaucer
+Chaucer as a Narrator his technique and style.
As Dryden had correctly remarked, Chaucer was a man of the most comprehensive nature, because he
took into the compass of The Canterbury Tales the various manners and humors of the English society
as an integrated whole in his age. Yes, the Morning Star of English Literature Geoffrey Chaucer, is
indeed a great story teller and his descriptive and narrative skills have been praised by critics over
time and again. He is very simple, natural and an easy going poet who is humorous, but his humor is
coarse, suggestive and often paradoxical. His description is very precise and his skills of narration
made Kittredge call him the greatest of all narrative poets, without any boundary of era or language.
The most unique characteristic feature of Chaucer s narration is his sense of artistic detachment from
his subjects. He is a creative artist which finds reflection in the variety of his methods of narration.

The earlier poets of the period dealt with characters but those were compressed and did not find any
scope for independent development, Chaucer on the other hand, very intelligently, chose to be a
background voice, while allowing his characters to grow. Chaucer is a narrator through the voice of
his characters. Similar techniques were adopted by writers like William Shakespeare and Henry
Fielding in the following periods. Chaucer s methodology was medieval but his objectives were
modern. Chaucer established himself as a modern narrator whose concern was not limited to narrating
the story only, but creating certain impressions on the minds of the readers. Chaucer handles the
material so excellent that by the addition of a few skillful touches, the interest of narrative has been
subordinated to the strong impression of a noble character , as said by

Naacp Failure
Imagine never being allowed to go to school, eat at a restaurant or even use the bathroom. This was
what countless African Americans were prevented to do on a daily basis. For many years, this type of
racism was common in the United States. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored
People, or NAACP aimed to rid the nation of that racism. The establishing of the NAACP illustrates
the intention of this organization. The NAACP underwent countless lawsuits to transform into what
they are today. However, this association has failed a very important campaign, which was to end

As it states in NAACP Formed, 1908 , The event which precipitated the formation of the National

Ph and Buffers Lab
Buffers, and pH, and Diffusion oh my The pH of a solution is the measure of the concentration of

pH. Biological molecules such as proteins function only at a certain pH level and any changes in pH
can result in them not functioning properly. To maintain these constant pH levels, buffer solutions are
used. A buffer solution can resist change to small additions of acids or base s. A good buffer will have

middle hole. The three outside holes were filled with one drop each of potassium bromide, potassium
Terri cyanide, and sodium chloride. The middle hole was filled with a drop of silver nitrate. It is very
important to make sure that none of the holes overflow. After each has been filled allow to sit for an
hour and observe the results. In the final experiment we filled a dialysis bag with starch solution and
tied off both ends of the bag so that it is water tight. We then filled a separate bag with sodium
chloride and submerge both dialysis bags in two beakers of distilled water. We allowed the bags to sit
in the water for 10 minutes. We then put silver nitrate into the water that held the dialysis bag filled
with sodium chloride and recorded any changes in the water. We then added iodine to the water that
held the dialysis bag of starch and observed any changes in the water.

The Morocco Lower Chamber Introduced A 10 % Quota System
Morocco
The Morocco Lower Chamber introduced a 10% quota system in 2002. This led to the percentage of
the women in the lower house jumping from 1 to 10 percent. They moved from two seats in 1998 to
35 out of 330 parliamentarians in 2002; thirty of these were as a result of the quota, five successfully
competed against male candidates. This result was an exception of Middle Eastern and North African
standards. Sartre describes this as a major change in a formerly authoritarian state. After a critical
analysis of recent legal changes, and after a number of interviews with women parliamentarians, she
concluded that the quota appeared innovative, but relied on formal mechanisms to prevent real
political innovation and contests. What Sater describes as a „superficial democratisation‟resulted from
an effort to guarantee the survival of individual rulers. Morocco is perceived to be an example of
exceptional sources of legitimacy for the ruling family of the Arab world.Sater wrote: Multi group
competition conveys to the ruler the authority of the arbitration. King Mohamed VI has been trying to
be more modern, but the King remains a center of a system of patronage and monopolizes all political
decisions. Internally the reform of the quota is portrayed as a significant step in the State‟s efforts at
democratization. Regime interference in political parties, either through banning or co opting
individual leaders, ensuring loyal support of the regime, has been a constant feature, so

South Afric A Country Of The Country
Many years ago, Africa grew several powers from the control of European countries. The Western
countries send emissaries to explore and establish trade with native, but in that case same other attract
on working people having come there to work and live and to government the country when they
need. The word imperializem in my attention came as a domination by one country of the political,
economic or cultural life of another country. We have to be clear with what happened in Africa and the
region which represents a great rich country for materials and get attention of many European country
for goods and wealth potential. Europian estabilished colonies in the African coastal region became
more aggresive later on once they were expanding into other lands. We can see that in the names
Africa s countries have under the colony. For example, the Belgian Congo instead of The Congo,
Anglo Egypyian Sudan istead of Sudan, or German Southwest Africa Namibia insted of Namibi.
Those countries have both Europian and African names which means that they belong and under
which power rule they are. However, The African countries nowadays tried to take way the kind of
patterns they have, but the Congo, Cameroon and Central African Republic are still suffering from the
legacies of western imperialism. The Congo has a very interesting story behind it. The King of

Syer Connolly (1996) describes a team system as a group of people who constitute a system of
interrelated entities and whose members share a common goal. They argue that team members need to
develop awareness of themselves and each other, and of their differences, through giving descriptive
feedback. This allows appreciation of differences, good contact and improved communication. Trust,
respect, team spirit and synergy may then emerge. Consequently this leads to a highly developed
awareness. The notion of a cycle more easily suggests the kind of continuous process that teams go
through and need to revisit as new members ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Clarity of purpose increases but plenty of uncertainties persist. Cliques form and there may be conflict
and power struggles. The team needs to be focused on its goals to avoid becoming distracted by
relationships and emotional issues. Compromises may be required to enable progress. The leader
coaches.
Norming stage 3
Agreement and consensus is largely formed among the team, who respond well to facilitation by
leader. Roles and responsibilities are clear and accepted. Big decisions are made by group agreement.
Smaller decisions may be delegated to individuals or small teams within group. Commitment and
unity is strong. The team may engage in fun and social activities. The team discusses and develops its
processes and working style. There is general respect for the leader and some of leadership is more
shared by the team. The leader facilitates and enables.
Performing stage 4
The team is more strategically aware; the team knows clearly why it is doing what it is doing. The
team has a shared vision and is able to stand on its own feet with no interference or participation from
the leader. There is a focus on over achieving goals, and the team makes most of the decisions against
criteria agreed with the leader. The team has a high degree of autonomy. Disagreements occur but now
they are resolved within the team positively and necessary changes to processes and structure are
made

I. OBJECTIVE: To have the ability to identify gram positive and gram negative cells and understand
how the staining affects them.
II. HYPOTHESIS: if a smear of both Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis are stained,
then gram negative and gram positive stains should result respectively and be identifiable under the
microscope due to the structure of the cell walls.
III. PROCEDURE:
1. Obtain a blank, sterile microscope slide. Using an inoculating loop add one drop of distilled water
to the slide.
2. Using an inoculating loop add both Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis to the slide to
create a smear.
3. Allow the slide to dry completely, once dry heat fix the slide by passing holding the corner and
passing the slide through a Bunsen burner flame, do this quickly as to not cause the bacteria to unstick
from the slide, but slow enough to kill the bacteria to allow for staining.

Causes Of Csare Lombroso
Nowadays it is common to hear expressions like beware of that man, he has the face of a thief ; These
young people are suspicious, their appearance is deplorable, or because of that scar he has, I would
say he is a criminal. It is also often observed that certain types of people are still rejected, isolated or
labeled by society, due to their physical characteristics, because they have congenital malformations,
or they have been acquired during the course of their existence. It is not good to judge by appearances,
but there are people who at first sight seem dangerous to us. In the nineteenth century, the scientist
Cesare Lombroso developed a theory that defines potential criminals by some of their physical
features.
Cesare Lombroso, a criminologist and Italian physicians, he was one of the forerunners of modern
criminology in that he may be born predisposed to be a criminal for biological causes. His legacy is
still present, although his studies and publications caused and continue to cause considerable
controversy. This Italian, who during his career published twenty five books that combine biological
science with criminology, was one of the most important exponents of criminological positivism. It is
a current that, instead of exposing sanctions for a certain act, is done for a delinquent studying its
characteristics, crime and manner of committing it in order to then seek a legal punishment that
adjusts to each case. Lombroso believed that human evolution and the

Dream Deferred, By Langston Hughes
Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly. Langston Hughes
(Hughes 2,1 4). Dreams are a subset of today s forever changing world, and without them there would
be no advance. Because of the importance of dreams, one can only imagine the possibilities of what
may happen when these fantasies are not pursued. Dream Deferred, by Langston Hughes, brings
awareness to those thoughts when viewing African Americans. Hughes, a very influential individual,
provides a voice for these peoples, which is hardly ever issued. The text and author are products of the
Harlem Renaissance, the time of the advancement of African Americans. The Harlem Renaissance is
an impact on the Dream Deferred, and speaks of dreams ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Or does it explode? (Hughes 10 11). The literal inference of the quote supplied appertains to working
African Americans. Because Hughes acted as a voice for colored people, it paved the way for
Caucasians to better understand the position of African Americans. Some of which were in positions
that often wondered about the future and what may come next. When speaking of domestic life and
the uncertainty of what happens when fantasies are pushed to the side, it is much like an unwanted
job. When talking about a heavy load, the first thought that may come to mind is work. Certain jobs
can become very stressful, which, in return, acts as a weight on a person s shoulder. A feeling of regret
and sorrow makes the dreamers feeble and thus they sag under the burden of life (Kumar 8).
Eventually, those who suffer from large amounts of stress, crack. In history, the heavy load is those
who oppress people of color. The sag is the thought of what may happen to a dream deferred, and the
explosion is the revolt and/or protest. Domestic life may give clarity toward the unknown outcomes
toward deferred dreams of black individuals, but metaphor supplies comparisons to produce

I Love Monologue
There are places in my heart that are yours alone. In them I linger, thinking of you. As you plunge
your quivering lips into mine, I gasp for my final breath in the softness of your mouth with teardrops
in our kiss. Closing my eyes to this bittersweet suffocation, memories of our first emerge... Your lips
break free from mine, our fingers untwined. I watch you drifting from my touch as you dance into the
night. Your flowered summer dress barely touches you and I envy the glow of streetlights, kissing the
silk of your skin. Midnight breezes rush toward my way as I savour your alluring perfume; my sweet
intoxication. You re my ecstasy. Your whispers caress my addiction. The inviting air of your radiance
evokes my desire to join your melodic waltz within the shadows surrounding us. There s only silence,
yet music still resonates in the tranquillity of night. Our slow dances in darkness are the embraces I ve
longed for, through aeons in space and time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

infinite wonders above could never compare to your beauty. Here in your arms with your gentle breath
upon my face, the rhythm of your heart is my lullaby. I finally understand the place where I belong.

experiential learning theory, student learning styles and learning space in this report. Experiential
learning theory have six propositions: Learning is best conceived as a process, not in terms of
outcomes ; All learning is relearning ; Learning requires the resolution of conflicts between
dialectically opposed modes of adaptation to the world ; Learning is a holistic process of adaptation to
the world ; Learning results from synergetic transactions between the person and the environment ;
and Learning is the process of creating knowledge . This report also point out four basic learning
styles include diverging, assimilating, converging, and accommodating. Authors think learning space
was influenced by people and environment, under this kind of situation learning space can be formed
into the behaviors which combines position, region, locomotion, equilibrium of forces, positive and
negative valence, barriers in the person and the world, conflict, and goal . Then they use learning
space framework method and depend on three different universities in order to study learning space.

Bartocelli Art Analysis
The characters above are all of mythological ideas, some possessing some biblical traits such as Venus
with the halo created by the reflection of the orange grove.
The red lines drawn on the image show the commonly used technique of perspective leading to the
vanishing point which is the centre of the image. This is where Venus stands, which is a technical
element conveying her importance within the painting.
The impeccable attention and detail on Flora s face indicates that he was of the High Renaissance
movement.
Bartocelli used Egg tempera to create this painting. He has connected the colours of the paint with the
message behind each part and being of the image. With the use of egg tempera, he had to work fast aw
well as with this technique there must be an under colour and the darker colour over it. The under
colour will therefore shine through, giving a stronger and clear final product.
Symbols in the artwork include: o Fruit This including the orange which is the fruit of free will. There
are no oranges only after the incident of Zephyr and Chloris, showing after trials will there only be
fertilisation and produce o Colour The use or oranges and Red indicates the long for materialism,
indulgence, carnal desire and a desire for worldly goods.

Akron Zoo Negotiation
One example in particular started early on in the process when two or three precinct 3 E pastors
vocally opposed Issues 23 and 24. They felt like the community was only doing things for the Akron
Zoo, as in, they felt like the community was always putting together efforts that would only benefit us,
Criss said. This feedback from the pastors came after two town hall meetings organized by
councilwoman Sommervile. I think that s when we decided that we needed to sit down with these
religious leaders to facilitate a conversation about what passing the issues meant, Barnhardt said.
Because the Akron Zoo felt that the pastors in the targeted area were opinion leaders, a one on one
conversation was chosen to facilitate an open dialogue about the issues. Both Criss and Barnhardt felt
that the open conversation with the pastors allowed for clearing up confusion and misconceptions
about what Issues 23 and 24 would mean for the zoo if passed. Criss commented ... Show more

negative press from an Akron Beacon Journal reporter. After one meeting, a reporter called Barnhardt
with questions for a feature article in the Akron Beacon Journal. While the interview went well with
Barnhardt, the reporter than spoke with the CEO of the Akron Zoo about extending the current plan of
only selling alcohol after hours to daily sale. Unfortunately, this was not a planned topic for the zoo,

The Book Of Martyrs By John Foxe
I will be examining an image taken from the Book, Acts and Monuments, or better known as the Book
of Martyrs. This book was written by John Foxe in 1563. Foxe was a devout protestant during a time
where Catholicism was being revived By Queen Mary. This Image displays Thomas Cranmer.
Cranmer was the Archbishop of Canterbury during King Henry s regime and helped Henry annul his
marriage with Catherine. Cranmer supported Royal Supremacy and was a huge reason for the creation
of the Protestant Church during the Reformation. In his book, The Book of Martyrs, author John Foxe
expresses his emotions for the protestant martyr Thomas Cranmer as he is being burned alive. Foxe
was an English historian and author who used his skills to express his anger towards the suffering of
Protestants under the Catholic Church. Foxe recorded the last moments of fellow Protestants who
were executed under the rule of Mary. Cranmer was one of many martyrs that Foxe illustrated in his
book. Foxe started working on his book in 1552 when Edward had power. After the death of Mary he
met a publisher by the name of John Day where he started to publish Foxe s work. His work didn t
make him rich, but he did become a celebrity for his literally skills. This book was attacked by
Catholics and had many critics as well, which led Foxe to come out with several more editions of this
version.

Success Is Within The Individual Mind And Expectations
Success
Success is within the individual mind and expectations. The definition of success differs from just one
person s interpretation of what success means. A large block of life is spent working to become
successful: acquiring an education, being able to take care of family, achieving a life s ambition, or
making money. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots
of money. Everyone aspires to be successful at whatever we are doing: starting a new business,
repairing the car, writing a term paper or practicing basketball. Every bit our efforts are directed at
achieving success. Success is not the end; it is the journey we take and there is no right or wrong idea
of success.
Money is the primary concern for some people and the main ingredient for anyone who is trying to
succeed in life. For this type of person, achieving success starts with going to a good college to
compete in a competitive job market and to prepare people to take on the world. People work hard to
make money so they can satisfy their desires. People dream about owning a home and take pride in
what they possess. Some need to appear successful in order to feel successful. These people feel
accomplished when they can admire what their hard work has given them.
For some, happiness is all that matters. Happiness is achieved in many ways, and it does not always
involve money. A person can feel successful without a lot of money, at all. For example, feeling loved

Signals pulse through the neurons in the man s brain: a structured dance. His thoughts, his actions, and

For example, some authors, including philosopher Nick Bostrom, have envisioned a future where
human brains can be uploaded into a computer (Bostrom). Clearly, besides trivial physical properties,
such an entity does not lose any of the elements that make us human, but it is nevertheless different. If
we wish to maintain consistent in emphasizing thoughts and emotions, such a being would still be
human. This scenario will necessitate an expansion in what most people think of when they think of
humanity. Moreover, such an intelligence could then began to improve itself, becoming better and
better at doing so, resulting in a superintelligence (Bostrom). This could propel us into what Bostrom
calls the posthuman era, a society that meets one of a few conditions, including a [p]opulation greater
than 1 trillion persons [or a] life expectancy greater than 500 years (Bostrom). These scenarios may
not be as far fetched as they seem; if any one of them happens, it will be difficult to keep on
describing humans in the context of anything but our shared history. On a similar note, one can look to
Eliezer Yudkowsky, an artificial intelligence researcher and one of a growing number of
transhumanists. He defines the philosophy of transhumanism as the logical extension of humanism: it
does not make sense to value life up to a

The Changing Lives Documentary Analysis
No treatment plan is the same for every person and every recovery is different as well for everyone.
The changing lives is a transformational documentary about the lives of a few people on how they got
out of addiction. It shows the process through their very compelling group therapy. But most
importantly, what really caught me was the program for the women, that helped them with treatment
when they were at the verge of losing their children.
Body
The group therapy was very compelling to me. I really saw that they were helping one another to get
to the root of each other s problems, digging deep and peeling at the source. Some were very
uncomfortable at first but once they saw that they had a lot of similarities with others, they slowly
started opening up. The therapist was also going deep, but it was for a cause. It was to help them heal

change that struck me the most was the day they graduate. This day signifies a milestone in their lives
of how far they ve come in their journey and how successful they been in it. It s the sign that shows

How And Why A Leader Emerges From A Group Is Crucial For...
Understanding how and why a leader emerges from a group is crucial for understanding social
interactions and structures in almost any context. The leader follower dynamics shape relationships as
local as a small family relationships and as broad as top elected official s relationships with the public.
Whether its working to accomplish an organizational goal or mobilizing a movement to support a
worthy cause, leaders emerge and followers look towards them for guidance and direction. The most
interesting question, and the main objective of this paper, is how and why certain people lead and
while others follow. To answer this question, not only is it important to look at the individual
differences of emergent leaders but also the network ties formed between the leaders and the
followers. This paper will first review the variety of ways of measuring the establishment of a leader
through network analysis and then discuss the potential reasons for why leaders emerge. Leader
emergence is primarily split between three fronts, including 1) individual differences such as
personality and ties of the leader, 2) individual differences of the followers and 3) situational
differences such as network medium (i.e. in person or virtual) and leader selection processes. This
paper will also discuss how these leaders affect the entire network and organization. Finally, this paper
will discuss existing gaps in the the literature on emerging leadership in the context of network
analysis and

Anorexia Nervosa is an eating disorder in which people suffering drastically restrict food intake due to an intense fear of gaining weight and a distorted body image. There has been an unfortunate increase in people suffering from Anorexia Nervosa over the past several decades. Anorexia can be caused by a combination of social, interpersonal, and psychological factors that must be resolved through treatment. Anorexia is an extremely dangerous disorder that results in death for many people if not treated. Anorexia Nervosa can occur at any point in life, but is most common in men and women ages twelve through twenty five. However, anorexia is more commonly found in young women and girls than males (). Unhealthy or odd weight management behaviors are particularly common in teens and adolescents. One study found that Over one half of teenage girls and nearly one third of teenage boys use unhealthy weight control behaviors such as skipping meals, fasting, smoking cigarettes, vomiting, and taking laxatives (Neumark Sztainer, 2005). Unfortunately for many teens, these unhealthy behaviors can develop into something more and eventually lead to anorexia or other eating disorders. Adolescents at this age and time in their lives are becoming more aware of their body image and comparing themselves to others. Many adolescents are so obsessive over their body image that they look to restricting food as a way of controlling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Drivers Of Stability Of Mali DRIVERS OF STABILITY IN MALI Percy L. Jones II MCCC 04 15 July 30, 2015 Drivers of Stability in Mali The West African country of Mali has from time to time been mired in un ending overlapping humanitarian, political, economic, and security crises. Notably, the situation in the country became worse when the government was destabilized and later overthrown in a 2012 military coup. Following the coup, insurgents were quick to capitalize on the resulting power vacuum and seize a greater portion of this country s vast sparsely populated north. As of 2013, a number of loosely connected extremist groups including Al Qaeda were in full control of most towns in the northern region. It is estimated that the region that has from time to time fallen under their control is as large as Texas. In as much as the number of insurgent combatants (mainly Islamic) seems to be relatively small, they are now notorious, and have become more entrenched. The seriousness of their entrenchment is boosted by the fact that they have gone as far as ousting a separatist group of ethnic Tuaregs that had initially been very influential, even in recruiting members among locals. Meanwhile, the nominally civilian dominated government (based in the capital Bamako) formed in the post coup period continues to be weakened gradually by continuous internal wrangles and military interference. In addition, years of mega corruption and mismanagement seem to have stagnated progress in many state ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the past, large organizations have implemented language assessments aimed to assess learners ability in the use of language in higher education. These high stake tests plays a vital role when decisions made on individual performance and its outcome is considered as a diagnosis of the learners ability.Among these performance, the International English Language Testing System ( IELTS) writing score is considered by most universities a benchmark against learners success in higher education. This has increase the concern of non native raters reliability and their consistency in rating scores in countries these tests are adopted. Although these non native raters are qualified raters, it is undeniable that comparing to native raters the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Scholars perception of the rating process in writing assessments In terms of rating process in writing assessments, pioneer studies in the field has construct distinct themes of raters position in the rating process. The process was earlier addressed as decision making process which evokes the raters cognitive thoughts, commonly effected by memory constraints, to retrieve related information.(Cumming,1990;Lumley,2002;Baker ,2012) Raters of this process perform by comparing similar constructions in written essays to rating scales.Retention of the retrieved information are eventually affected by individual experiences and background. The psychological process relies on the integration of former information that finally develop into a final score. Since the final product of each rating process is a holistic score that has different interpretations according the scale used in the rating process, the notion that such score may ignore to describe the learner qualifications were raised.Weigle (2002) was able to show that raters often rate holistically when using an analytic rating scale and adjust their scores to match the analytic criteria. Alderson (2005) also suggests that diagnostic tests should focus on specific abilities rather than global abilities.According to these reasons, other reseachers believe that rating is merely an interaction between the rater and three certain things that is the essay, the task and the scale ... • 5. New Business Model Of College Students College students who have to have certain kind of software for school often find themselves in a predicament when they cannot afford software that they need for a class whether it be for an English major or Graphics Design major. Students are facing a new business model where companies like adobe and Microsoft Office are making their software into a monthly payment instead of a one time pay for the software. Software companies should not have their software on a monthly payment for students because low budgets, users rent not own, and is it worth it. In general college students are broke, students are doing good to buy ramen noodles for themselves. How could they pay over $50 a month for something like Adobe Creative Cloud, $30 a month for Grammarly, or $75 a year for Microsoft Office? The C Net report talks about how software and web based companies like subscription payment It s time to sign up for a subscription to everything... • 6. The Role Of Power For Private Gain As Defined By The... Background: Corruption is the use of entrusted power for private gain as defined by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP 2008). This research studies the effects and consequences of corruption in the Nigeria health care system. Like other sectors in Nigeria, the health sector is not immune from corruption and this is because of the high demand for health care services which has enormously created opportunity for individuals in health care delivery to manipulate the system to their own advantages at the expense of the general public or consumers. The gap that this has created has made it difficult for targets and health care priorities to be met due to the administrative distance between governance and social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Health care delivery corruption in Nigeria prevails because there is no compliance to the rule of law, the administrative system in Nigeria lacks transparency and trust, also the public sector which could have acted as a check and balance is ruled by ineffective civil service codes and weak accountability methods (Husmann, K. 2011). Causes/Manifestations: Nigeria health system information is asymmetrical in nature and is susceptible to corruption because large numbers of care givers see this as an opportunity to create systemic hindrances and therefore discourage transparency and accountability. It was even argued that consumers not only suffer the consequences of the infected system but also help to encourage the corrupt system, it was reported that some patients believed that one cannot obtain high quality health care unless one is socially or relatively connected to a health care worker, if not, one has to pay a bribe as an incentive to receive health care from caregivers that are trained and paid for the job. This has created a social norm in which bribing is deemed to be legitimate (Adegboyega et al 2012). Another cause of this social norm is uncertainty regarding real projection of who will fall ill and to allocate geographically types of illness associated to a region. This makes it difficult to allocate resources adequately to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. American Civil War and Sectionalism 1. Approximately 180,000 Negros served in the Union during the Civil War. The Negro Soldier was overall a good one. One example was at the Assault on Fort Wagner, South Carolina. The 54th Massachusetts Colored troops led the assault and scaled the fort s parapet and were only driven back after brutal hand to hand fighting. The Negro faced some discrimination in the Union Army in areas such as pay. It wasn t until June 15th, 1864 that the Congress granted equal pay to Negro troops. Several Negro soldiers earned the Medal of Honor. The North attitude towards Negro troops was mainly positive, while the South did not want Negros to serve in the Confederate Army. It wasn t until the Confederates were running low on men did they allow Negros to serve. The Negros serving in the North felt it as their duty to serve and support the cause for their own freedom. 2. General Ulysses S. Grant was a brilliant strategist and seemed to be able to plan out movements in advance. The people of the North thought the tremendous casualties to be horrendous. But Grant knew that the South s casualties to be much more than the North s. Grant did have the support and trust of the North though and his record did well to deserve that support. His commanders trusted his completely. Grant s idea of Total War was to break down the infrastructure of the South. In 1936, at the age of 8, he contracted an A beta haemolytic streptococcal infection, and subsequently developed the neurological disorder Sydenham s chorea, which is also known as St. Vitus Dance. This neurological disorder, which is characterized by involuntary and uncoordinated movements of the face, hands and feet, caused him to be bedridden. It was during this time that young Andy Warhol was taught to draw by his mother, who possessed an impressive artistic ability. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following market research that was conducted in 2005, analysts discovered that there was no consumer trend in purchases. After deeper research, using the growing field of neuromarketing, they discovered that this lack of trend was caused by the uniformity in label design across all flavors offered by the company, as the consumers were not able to differentiate between the thirty two flavors offered. The absence of a trend made it increasingly difficult for the company to decide what the most popular flavor. Is it tomato soup, the classic chicken noodle, or perhaps cream of mushroom? Analysts were still not able to detect a trend in purchases, and because of this, the Campbell Soup Company made the decision to redesign the cans. This redesign, which was released in 2010, included switching the iconic red top to the bottom of the can, removing the spoon from the soup, adding steam, and overall modernizing the can s label design. In 2012, in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of Andy Warhol s Campbell s Soup Cans, the Campbell Soup Company released limited edition tomato soup cans, in a series of five, that featured the original label and bright colors that were characteristic of Warhol s personal, pop art style. This limited edition product, sold at seventy five cents a can, illustrates the iconography of the Campbell s can, as the company acknowledges the significance of Warhol s artwork and the impact his style made in art ... It was this age that gave birth to many of the important modern business practices we take for granted today, and those in charge of business at the time were considered revolutionaries, whether it was for the good of the people or the good of themselves. The exact period of time in which the Gilded Age occurred is ever debatable, but most historians can at least agree that it started within the 20 years after the Civil War ended and lasted until the early 1920s. This law forced the railroads to report to the federal government before making important decisions like how much to charge customers. The railroad companies were outraged and used the defense that their monopolies were almost automatically formed, but there was nothing they could do since the law was federal. (Moritz 19 24, 28) Telegraph grids were another technological advancement of the Gilded Age. For the first time in history, transcontinental communication was possible. People could now find out about news from across the nation within minutes of it happening, instead of days as it sometimes took before. Businesses took advantage of this by building plants and factories all across the country, hiring managers for each individual outfit, and communicating among each location with ease. (Sinclair 75) Telegraph lines were also a nurturing point for one of the most famous business tycoons of the Gilded Age, Andrew Carnegie. (Carnegie 653) Carnegie not only got his start as a young Irish immigrant working as a railroad telegraph operator, his first major corporation was the Keystone Telegraph Company, in which he acquired the Pacific and Atlantic Telegraph Company. Sometimes it is caused by the incautious tilting their boat a little further than it is meant to go, but very often it is caused be a force beyond your control. Waves or wake caused by wind, swell, or boats very often lead to a capsized boat and possibly a paddler in distress. Many people are confused by the difference between a canoe and kayak. In simple terms, a kayak has a closed deck (apart from the hole you sit in) and is powered using a double bladed paddle. A canoe, on the other hand, is an open boat in which you can either stand up or kneel, and is powered using a single bladed paddle. Many people use the term canoeing to describe the general sport, not to define what type of boat is used, so that s what we ll do here. Oppression on Women in Margaret Atwood s The Handmaid s Tale and Marjane Satrapi s Persepolis Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi, is memoir of a little girl growing in Iran. She refers to a secular pre revolutionary time through contrast, the oppressive characteristics of the fundamentalist government upon women in particular. Her work is a lot similar to Margaret Atwood s, A Handmaid s Tale, in which the protagonist Offred reflects upon her former life s freedom, cherishing her former name and in doing so emphasizes the cloistered and enslaved life that she must now endure. The dress is much like mine in shape, long and concealing, but with a bib apron over it and without the white wings and the veil. She puts on the veil to go outside, but nobody much cares who sees the face of a Martha. (9) Martha s are made less by their clothes. When a woman is wearing the green Martha s dress no one is interested in looking at her as a person. She is just a servant. Martha s dress makes the woman serviceable not desirable, useful but undesirable. Pride and dignity is taken away from women in Gilead. They are isolated from their families and are tortured by their memories. They are handed a dress code depending on the role they play and are forced to abide by that. As Dryden had correctly remarked, Chaucer was a man of the most comprehensive nature, because he took into the compass of The Canterbury Tales the various manners and humors of the English society as an integrated whole in his age. Yes, the Morning Star of English Literature Geoffrey Chaucer, is indeed a great story teller and his descriptive and narrative skills have been praised by critics over time and again. He is very simple, natural and an easy going poet who is humorous, but his humor is coarse, suggestive and often paradoxical. His description is very precise and his skills of narration made Kittredge call him the greatest of all narrative poets, without any boundary of era or language. The most unique characteristic feature of Chaucer s narration is his sense of artistic detachment from his subjects. They moved from two seats in 1998 to 35 out of 330 parliamentarians in 2002; thirty of these were as a result of the quota, five successfully competed against male candidates. This result was an exception of Middle Eastern and North African standards. Sartre describes this as a major change in a formerly authoritarian state. After a critical analysis of recent legal changes, and after a number of interviews with women parliamentarians, she concluded that the quota appeared innovative, but relied on formal mechanisms to prevent real political innovation and contests. What Sater describes as a „superficial democratisation‟resulted from an effort to guarantee the survival of individual rulers. Morocco is perceived to be an example of exceptional sources of legitimacy for the ruling family of the Arab world.Sater wrote: Multi group competition conveys to the ruler the authority of the arbitration. King Mohamed VI has been trying to be more modern, but the King remains a center of a system of patronage and monopolizes all political decisions. • 32. Success Is Within The Individual Mind And Expectations Success Success is within the individual mind and expectations. The definition of success differs from just one person s interpretation of what success means. A large block of life is spent working to become successful: acquiring an education, being able to take care of family, achieving a life s ambition, or making money. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots of money. Everyone aspires to be successful at whatever we are doing: starting a new business, repairing the car, writing a term paper or practicing basketball. Every bit our efforts are directed at achieving success. Success is not the end; it is the journey we take and there is no right or wrong idea of success. Money is the primary concern for some people and the main ingredient for anyone who is trying to succeed in life. For this type of person, achieving success starts with going to a good college to compete in a competitive job market and to prepare people to take on the world. People work hard to make money so they can satisfy their desires. People dream about owning a home and take pride in what they possess. Some need to appear successful in order to feel successful. These people feel accomplished when they can admire what their hard work has given them. For some, happiness is all that matters. Happiness is achieved in many ways, and it does not always involve money. A person can feel successful without a lot of money, at all. For example, feeling loved is ... • 33. Brian Aldiss Super-Toys Last All Summer Long Sunset; the last rays of today streak out across the dark ocean. The old man pulls his wife closer, hands weathered, eyes closed. He is content. But there is more than meets the eye in this scene. Much more. Signals pulse through the neurons in the man s brain: a structured dance. His thoughts, his actions, and his feelings are all a product of the complex processes within his brain. Optimized by billions of years of evolution and influenced by decades of experience and thought, the man s brain thinks. Alone among all animals, he can appreciate the beauty of the sunset and the fullness of his life.Until now, this distinction between human and nonhuman has been clear. Our thoughts and our emotions are a unique feature of our species. But what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, some authors, including philosopher Nick Bostrom, have envisioned a future where human brains can be uploaded into a computer (Bostrom). Clearly, besides trivial physical properties, such an entity does not lose any of the elements that make us human, but it is nevertheless different. If we wish to maintain consistent in emphasizing thoughts and emotions, such a being would still be human. This scenario will necessitate an expansion in what most people think of when they think of humanity. Moreover, such an intelligence could then began to improve itself, becoming better and better at doing so, resulting in a superintelligence (Bostrom). This could propel us into what Bostrom calls the posthuman era, a society that meets one of a few conditions, including a [p]opulation greater than 1 trillion persons [or a] life expectancy greater than 500 years (Bostrom). These scenarios may not be as far fetched as they seem; if any one of them happens, it will be difficult to keep on describing humans in the context of anything but our shared history. On a similar note, one can look to Eliezer Yudkowsky, an artificial intelligence researcher and one of a growing number of transhumanists. He defines the philosophy of transhumanism as the logical extension of humanism: it does not make sense to value life up to a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Changing Lives Documentary Analysis No treatment plan is the same for every person and every recovery is different as well for everyone. The changing lives is a transformational documentary about the lives of a few people on how they got out of addiction. It shows the process through their very compelling group therapy. But most importantly, what really caught me was the program for the women, that helped them with treatment when they were at the verge of losing their children. Body The group therapy was very compelling to me. I really saw that they were helping one another to get to the root of each other s problems, digging deep and peeling at the source. Some were very uncomfortable at first but once they saw that they had a lot of similarities with others, they slowly started opening up. The therapist was also going deep, but it was for a cause. It was to help them heal and move on with their lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These women were mostly from abusive homes, or addicts, because of these circumstances. • 35. How And Why A Leader Emerges From A Group Is Crucial For... Understanding how and why a leader emerges from a group is crucial for understanding social interactions and structures in almost any context. The leader follower dynamics shape relationships as local as a small family relationships and as broad as top elected official s relationships with the public. Whether its working to accomplish an organizational goal or mobilizing a movement to support a worthy cause, leaders emerge and followers look towards them for guidance and direction. The most interesting question, and the main objective of this paper, is how and why certain people lead and while others follow. To answer this question, not only is it important to look at the individual differences of emergent leaders but also the network ties formed between the leaders and the followers. This paper will first review the variety of ways of measuring the establishment of a leader through network analysis and then discuss the potential reasons for why leaders emerge. Leader emergence is primarily split between three fronts, including 1) individual differences such as personality and ties of the leader, 2) individual differences of the followers and 3) situational differences such as network medium (i.e. in person or virtual) and leader selection processes. This paper will also discuss how these leaders affect the entire network and organization. Finally, this paper will discuss existing gaps in the the literature on emerging leadership in the context of network analysis and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
