The Two Most Important Underlying Factors Of Informalisation
2.3. Principles of Informalisation
The two most important underlying factors of informalisation are exit and exclusion . They help us
determine the nature and root of informality across various countries. Informality due to Exclusion
is stringent, and costly regulations and also lack of opportunities to work in the formal sector for a
certain section of the society, force labourers to see informal sector as the only option left and they
work in substandard conditions for lower wages. On the other hand, informality arising out of Exit
is mainly due to poor benefits of being formally employed, lack of trust amongst public institutions
and preference of individual for self employment. Exit in particular includes the young and elderly

They measured informal sector based on migration unemployment and difference in development in
the two sectors of the economy. This model further explains that the urban rural migration
phenomenon is due to difference between the urban rural income expectations. High volume of
urban rural migration is taking place in developing countries and less developed countries, leading
to high level of unemployment in urban areas; such areas are study areas for this model. This
model states that out migrants move to urban areas expecting higher incomes however their main
source of the income is retained in rural areas i.e. agricultural land. But other literature suggests
that these migrants settle in urban areas and are employed in the urban sector. The model was
extensively followed in the 1960 s, but with the advent of globalisation it became an equally urban
phenomenon. The main reason behind this is that globalisation along with technological
advancement made it easy for people to engage in the informal sector. Hence people increasingly
entered the informal sector in urban areas. Most of them due to low skills and no or little education
acquired casual jobs with wages less than the minimum

Impact Of Technology On The Health Of People Across The Globe
Technology has been advancing ever since mankind discovered how to make fire. We have
continuously built upon each new technology developed, which has led to the dominance of our
species across the globe. We are one of the few species that have the ability to produce and use
tools. Technology has been continuously improving our standard of living but have the
advancements gone too far? Modern technology has begun to consume our lives instead of
enhancing our lives, and this has had more consequences than positives. Although the
advancements in technology have had positive aspects, tools that we are creating now are having
more adverse effects than positive effects when used improperly. Technology s largest positive
impact has been its... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allows patients to get the proper treatment as soon as possible before a disease spreads.
Take cancer for example, in the body it spreads every minute. The sooner it is diagnosed and
treated the higher the chances of survival for this horrible disease. There are countless other
diseases that modern technology has been able to detect and cure which is why the average
lifespan has been lengthened so drastically. Computerized technology however is not the only
strides made in the medical field. The development of new medicines to combat the different
pathogens have made tremendous progress in the past few decades. These medicines and
vaccines have helped us cure millions and have made some diseases that wiped out entire
populations in the past irrelevant now. Smallpox, a terrible diseases that has been haunting
humanity for centuries, killed over 300 million people in the 20th century alone (WHO). Due to
the work of modern medicine small pox has been eradicated and the only strains of it exist in
laboratories. The negative aspect of the continuous use of these medicines is that generation by
generation autoimmunity in our bodies has decreased. The reason for this is because we don t use
our immune system as much because we rely on so much medicine even for the smallest of
diseases. These medicines like antibiotics used to be deemed the all curing tools but only the fact is
that this is only true when they are used properly. When taking antibiotics if

1. What is the molecular weight of Na+? 22.99 or 23
2. What is the molecular weight of Cl ? 35.45
3. Which MWCO dialysis membranes allowed both of these ions through?50,100, 200
4. Which materials diffused from the left beaker to the right beaker? Urea, NaCl and glucose
diffused
5. Which did not? Why? Albumin was too large to diffuse into the right beaker.
Activity 2: Simulating Dialysis
6. What happens to the urea concentration in the left beaker (the patient)? Its concentration gradient
changes and causes it to move down.
7. Why does this occur? It happened because the more concentrated it became it causes the
molecules to move down.

no it does not generate.
20. Why or why not?
21. Would pressure be generated if you had 9 mM glucose on one side of a 200 MWCO
membrane and 9 mM NaCl on the other side? If so, which solution was generating the pressure?
yes in the side with the glucose.
22. Would pressure be generated if you had 9 mM albumin on one side of a 200 MWCO
membrane and 9 mM NaCl on the other side? If so, which solution was generating the
pressure?Yes, The Albumin was generating the pressure .
Filtration
Activity 5: Filtration
23. What were the results of your initial membrane analysis?
24. Does the membrane MWCO affect filtration rate? Yes, the smaller the mwco the smaller the
pore sizes are and they affect the filtration rate.
25. Does the amount of pressure applied affect the filtration rate?yes.
26. Did all solutes pass through all the membranes? no.
27. If not, which one(s) did not? urea was the only one not present.
28. Why?Urea does not diffuse freely.
29. How can the body selectively increase the filtration rate of a given organ or organ system? By
increasing or decreasing the blood supply to the given organ or system.
Active Transport
Activity 6: Active Transport
30. At the end of this experimental run, did the Na+/Cl move from the left vessel to the right
vessel? No it did not.

Force 4: Bargaining Power of Buyers High
Walgreens is the largest national retail pharmacy chain and is considered the leader in innovative
drugstore retailing. The bargaining power of buyers is determined by two factors: price sensitivity
and relative bargaining power. Walgreens has several distinct divisions within a store that include a
pharmacy, nonprescription drugs, and general merchandise. Because these products and services
are undifferentiated for the most part, consumers are more sensitive to an increase in price. To
combat this price sensitivity, every aspect of Walgreens competitive strategy is focused on
convenience, technical innovation, and customer service, which has allowed the company to
achieve financial success while improving the level of service. Since Walgreens holds a large
percentage of the industry market share, they are able to help set the rules of competition but must
be conscious of the consumers superior bargaining power due to the number of competitors.
Force 5: Bargaining Power of Suppliers Overall High
Walgreens Company divides its sales into three distinct divisions: prescription drugs (65%),
nonprescription drugs (10%), and general merchandise (25%). The general merchandise division is
all the food, drink, seasonal, and cosmetic items that Walgreens carries.
Prescription drugs: Power of Suppliers: High

Mt. Everest Essay
Mount Everest 1996
Abstract
In 1996 two expedition adventure organizations joined operations to climb Mount Everest. Mount
Everest is an unpredictable 800 pound gorilla that demands respect from all that would attempt to
achieve a fraternal summit acquisition. The pitfalls that await an assuming prepared expert can turn
a well laid out plan into a treacherous and lethal reality. The expedition to reach the summit on May
10th, 1996 is a blue print of the defiant forces of nature and human error.
Two companies joined together to make the journey to the summit of Mount Everest in the spring of

The weak points stand out far more now than they did in 1996, way more. The decision that their
would be only one person to call all the shots regardless of what anyone else thought was a big
sign of possible failure. There did not seem to be any emphasis on customer satisfaction. History
is littered with the ruins of countries and people who followed blindly or wrongly without
question, discussion, or refusal to agree. No decision was made to have a second in command if
the leader became incapacitated. Arrogance had no role in an expedition of this magnitude.
Experienced climbers with concerns were stifled and kept their opinions to themselves. The
whole idea of recruiting multiple experienced personnel in any organization is to allow them to
make the organization better. It was clear that there could only be one alpha dog in this
expedition. People who hid the fact that they were too unfit or healthy to make the attempt should
have stepped down. Anyone who can not make it on their own becomes a liability. There
appeared to be a disregard for the needs of the clients and the climbers who had reservations. The
communication devices were either too old or too few to accomplish the task at hand. Even with
the limited technology that was used, the application of it would have had to be deployed precisely

phones doing something like playing games, reading books or magazines, and many more. In this
case, it gives a start up company a chance to see what mobile games and apps people use all the
time. This project is essential for a company that wants to make a gameor app because it shows
what game or app people are playing and how much they are playing it. It also shows how much
each game or app makes and what keeps them addicted to it. A Fortune.com article listed the top

Facebook users in the U.S. There is also multiple graphs about what kind of revenue these
mobile apps make that is astounding to me. One graph shows the percentage of revenue from
the actual payment of the app. In 2011 85.6% of the total revenue was from the payment of the
app itself, 82.8% in 2012, 75.9% in 2013, 69.5% in 2014, 59.5% in 2015, 47.5% projected in
2016, and 37.8% projected in 2017. This shows that as the years go on, these apps will be
making more and more money from the advertisements and in game purchases. Another graph
shows the worldwide mobile app revenue. In 2011, the worldwide revenue was 8.32 billion,
18.56 billion in 2012, 26.68 billion in 2013, 34.99 billion in 2014, 45.37 billion in 2015, 58.21
billion in 2016, and 76.52 billion in 2017. All of these numbers indicate that the mobile app

The Components Of Social Conflict And Social Identity Theory
Tal classifies this mechanism as sociopsychological infrastructure. It manifests in collective
memory, the ethos of conflict and collective emotional orientation (p.1430). These are the
mechanism that distinguishes one group from another. Hence the collective memory, the ethos of
conflict and collective emotional orientation are what member of a group share, against the other .
A classic case of we against them. The question of how these operate from an individual s point of
view becomes imperative.
Social Identity Theory
Tajfel Turner, (1979) the proponents of social identitytheory helped in the understanding of
intergroup relations. Their focus was on the complex interweaving of an individual or interpersonal
behavior with contextual social processes of intergroup conflict (p.276). social identity theory,
therefore emphasizes intergroup relations (relationship of an individual has with his group and
between an outgroup) and categorical distinction (what sets an individual apart from another
outgroup) . Korostelina describes this as the processes of identification with other group members
(p.23). Personal identities are consequently reflected in an individual s social identity. For instance,
an individual with an Islamic conviction cannot be found in a church on a Sunday. Social identity
theory holds that individuals establish who they are and the group they belong, basically because
there is one form of similarity or another hence, by categorization,

Inherent and treated are two terms that are used a lot in the flame resistant world. The term
inherently flame resistant fabric is one that is used for fabrics that do not required the addition of
flame retardant chemicals after the yarns have been spun or the fabric has been woven or knitted.
The yarns of these fabric use only fibres that are naturally flame resistant. The common theme is no
flame retardant chemicals are added to the yarn or fabric.
Unlike inherent fabrics, flame resistant treated fabrics(flame retardant fabrics) have the flame
retardant chemicals added to the fabric after it has been woven or knitted.
Most of the chemicals used for fire retardant finishing of cotton textile are synthetic compounds and
they are available in the market. These chemicals and their application procedures are hazardous,
expensive and non eco friendly [4].
Cellulosic cotton textile catches flame readily that is quite difficult to extinguish. This poses a
serious risk to the health and life of a living and damages potential to textile products. Banana is
one of most important and common fruits in Myanmar. The crop can be grown throughout the
country. It grows wild and also cultivated on a large scale as a field crop as well as backyard crop

Ensuring that the software is compatible with the systems that are in place today is also a
critical step to making the transition smoother. The high score in the architecture compatibility
area shows that this provider took that into consideration as well. Provider1 was also able to
customize the off the shelf package to meet the requirements that Harley Davidson has
developed when the best practices fell short. Since the company had already established specific
goals that they needed this software to accomplish, looking at the overall functionality of the

Theme Of Manipulation In Enders Game
Hannah Tebbe
Honors English

Graff s Manipulation of Ender Throughout Orson Scott Card s novel, Ender s Game, Ender
Wiggin has been manipulated by several adults including Major Anderson, Colonel Graff, and
Mazer Rackham. One thing they all have in common is they all want Ender to be successful as
soon as possible because he is their only hope in defeating the buggers. Of these three adults,
Colonel Graff was the most prominent in the manipulation of Ender. Graff manipulated Ender by
isolating Ender from the rest of the kids at Battle School and controlling Ender s every move. He
did this with the purpose that Ender would learn to solve problems on his own without expecting a
helping hand and therefore make Ender strong enough to destroy the buggers. Graff does not see
the wrong in his actions of manipulation, but instead he feels it will help Ender save the world from

The Philosophy Of Mind By Paul Churchland
Philosophy of Mind
In contemporary philosophy of mind, talk of perception has fallen out of favour. Indeed most
writers to deny perception altogether, or claim that they do not matter. Instead they reduce
perception to reality, or speak of the really real. Perception are said to be nothing but particles or
waves or structured brain events. Always already Nothing but matter and motion. One influential
philosopher of mind, Paul Churchland in his book The Engine of Reason, The Seat of the Soul
replaces the perceiver with functioning biological bodies. The perceiver gets reduced to an
organized body, mind becomes the brain, body motions become actions, man becomes the person.
Churchland redefines phenomenal qualities as being nothing but properties of the brain. Cognitive
events such as understanding, recognising, feeling, and perceiving are replaced with neural
analogs. Here psychological events are treated solely as neural events. This is the prevailing view
in cognitive science.
These contemporary materialists have two claims. This first claim is that all perceptions can be
explained in terms of or by reference to neural events and the like. The second claim is that there
are only neural events (and other physical events in the environment). At the heart of the dismissal
of perception is the combination of two beliefs. The first is that science, especially neurological
science, has access to reality; and second, the distrust of perceiver dependent events. As modern

Personal Contiguity And Personal Identity
Personal identity is the unique numerical identity of a person in the course of his or her lifetime.
Identification is necessary and sufficient conditions under which a person at one time and a person

called personal persistence in psychology, is the uninterrupted connection that concerns between a
particular person of his or her private life and personality. Personal continuity is the property of a

person. Brain criterion and physical criterion both acknowledge the vital function psychological
continuity plays in the judgment of our ideas, while admitting the importance of psychological
instantiation at the same time. However, the appeal to physiology introduces an unacceptable
element of contingency into the answers to the persistence question envisaged by the defenders
of the criteria s, which really is the opposite. to know what our persistence necessary consists on,

the personality. To argue for or against psychological continuity, I would argue for it because, when

balance of power in the region, specifically regarding the rise of another expansive Germany type
state and to guard against the rise of the nuclear armed Soviet Union. The idea of integration started

This rationality means they will pursue interests in terms of power according to offensive
neorealism, or in terms of security according to defensive neorealism (Collard Wexler, 2006).
These two strands have been heavily debated within neorealist theory, particularly by
Mearsheimer in favor of offensive neorealism and Waltz in favor of defensive neorealism. John
Mearsheimer believes that the goal of states is to maximize power while Waltz believes the goal of
states is to maintain their positions in the system (Snyder, 2001). There is no punishment for
irrational or aggressive behavior because of the anarchic nature of the system so states must rely on
themselves for survival, through the use of power. Due to anarchy, states will balance against their
peers by imitation, by boosting their national assets (internal balancing), forming alliances with
other states (external balancing) or by adopting the successful power generating practices of the
prospective hegemon (emulation) (Wohlforth et.al, 2007) and these 3 processes will prevent
hegemony. Neorealism relates to European integration most specifically in terms of the
aforementioned balance of power. Nations tend to balance among dominant powers rather than ally
with them because they fear that the powerful ally of today could become the menacing rival of
tomorrow (Collard Wexler, 2006). This balance, however, should not be confused with cooperation

Identity And Personal Identity
Lately my mornings are spent getting up between 5:30am and 6am. I get myself ready, I never
look fantastic just passable, and I go to work. Part of my morning routine is getting my dog,
Donovan, ready for the early part of his day as well. We go to the yard for his bathroom routine, we
go inside where I feed him his diet dog food and inject him with insulin, we go upstairs where I
place a new diaper wrap around his mid section (dogs with diabetes leak, who knew?), and he
goes back to bed to sleep beside my husband. After we say our goodbyes I head to work, or
school, or whatever adventure life has for me that particular day. Rinse, wash, repeat. I had no
idea when I was in my teenage years that my life at 32 years old would be a tattooed, married,
full time working, full time schooling, boring, Puerto Rican, animal lover. Well, the animal
loving part I knew since I was maybe 2. I have many a self concept, the set stable ideas a person
has about who he or she is (Floyd 71), some are obvious and some are not so obvious. When
people meet me, they see the identities that are skin deep, they see the parts of my identitythat are
more objective, they re based on fact instead of someone s opinion (Floyd 74). I have tan skin

Literature Review Of Fynbos And Forest Biome

Species of special concern program
By Len du Plessis
August 2010
Summary:
Fynbos and forest biomes are the main contributors to vegetation diversity in the Garden Route.
Indigenous forests in the Garden Route cover 35 765.4 ha. The biome of the Garden Route contains
69% of South Africa s sub continent plant species. Approximately 30% of the Garden Route is
covered in fynbos. Mountain and lowland fynbos have been converted into pine plantations, having
huge effects on the spreading of these invasive plants and the biome of the Garden Route. Alien
invasive plants use excessive amounts of water which robs the native plants thereof and are in
direct competition for space and soil nutrients against the natural biome. Alien ... Show more

Summary
There are short term and long term plans for clearing alien invasive plants. When seed banks of
AIP s are present, the restoration potential is low and the impact on the environment is high. The
Garden Route s fynbos biome is most affected by the AIP s.
Ground should be 60% free of slash, which stimulates germination, in order to control AIP s. In
order to achieve initial restoration goals, alien weeds should be cleared and bear ground should be
exposed followed by a controlled fire through the area as heat and smoke germinates cues required
by fynbos species. Steep slopes and plant species may influence the restoration potential. Controlled
fires prevent local fynbos specie loss. No fire or too frequent fires reduce restoration potential.
Initial clearance of sites includes burning, tilling and pitting, and within rotation management, it
includes ground vegetation clearance, fertilizing, thinning, harvesting and unplanned fires.
Variables that affects the AIP s reduction potential includes annual rainfall (mm), average altitude
(m), slope, geology, soil texture and type, pre plantation vegetation type, alien invasive species
present and its density, erosion and pollution

The Individual And Technology
The Individual and Technology A Contemporary Issue
GENETIC PROFILING

Executive Summary
Effects of Technology
The Australian Institute of Criminology has produced documentations explaining the technique of
DNA identification compares the DNA of two bodily samples to ascertain whether or not they came
from the same human being. Identity of DNA in the cells across both samples implies that the
samples are derived from the same person (or identical twins); non identity implies different human
sources.
Beginning in the mid 1980s, the development of DNA analysis technology has revolutionised the
field of forensic science within the criminal justice system. As the refinement of procedures and
technology continues, even minute samples of biological material (including blood, saliva, semen
and skin cells) are able to be analysed and used to link or acquit perpetrators of crimes. (Whitney, R

Taj Mahal Architecture
The Taj Mahal The Taj Mahal is a great example of symmetry because the first half of the building
corresponds perfectly with the other half of the building. Also, with the building reflecting off the
water, you can see the beautiful mirror symmetry that is displayed. The pointed arches within a
rectangular frame dominate the exterior facade of the main building. In the Taj Mahal, the graves of
the Emperor and his wife lie in the center of an octagonal room. The drainage holes in some of the
stones have a hexagonal pattern. The many domes in the Taj Mahal form circles at the bases. The
diameter of the biggest dome is sixty feet long.
History of the Taj Mahal:
Shah Jahan, the fifth Emperor of the Mughal dynasty, built the building in twenty one years.
The Taj Mahal was built as a memorial to Shah Jahan s beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, after her
death in 1631.
The Taj Mahal was built between 1632 and 1653 AD.
The building was built with white marble for the main mausoleum and red sandstone for accents
and strengthening structures.

theme specific enough to embody all of the ideas we had as a group. We were very set on a
certain direction, but that direction included a lot of different subsections that would make our task
even more complicated. Accessibility on college campuses and beyond is a very important topic
and one that aligned with our passion. But the likelihood for us to travel to another campus to
conduct interviews collect data was very low. This centered our focus on the University of Illinois
at Urbana Champaign. In our own community there are many improvements necessary. The

The purpose of my research paper will be to inform the reader with statistical and factual analysis
encompassing Incentives and reward based programs. We will evaluate various incentives to see if
this macroeconomic incentivized/rewards based process does indeed drive business and generate
more growth amongst companies via rewards and loyalty programs towards the general population
of consumers. This analysis surrounding incentives will also be comprised of the price and demand
structures to tie into how companies also utilize their rewards, customer loyalty plans and coupons
during different times of the seasons to boost sales and establish a bond with the ones they are
selling to, the consumers.
U.S. consumers hold 3.3 billion memberships in customer loyalty programs, the 2015 COLLOQUY
Loyalty Census shows, a 26% increase over the number of memberships reported in COLLOQUY
s last census study in 2013 (Colloquy, 2015) With loyalty programs established this helps to
generate a repeat customers which drives profits and promises future revenue. Consumers need an
incentive to purchase a product at a certain place. When Loyalty programs are in place it helps the
consumer relate to the product and funnels them towards the product in which they feel that they
are apart of. They can build exclusive points and incentives when products are purchased and are
then able to use those rewards points at a later time to purchase more goods or even get a portion
of the cash back.

Short Summary Of The Lusiad
The Lusiads begins in medias res. Vasco da Gama and his Portuguese crewmen are in the East
African kingdom of Malindi, having survived rough weather and an ambush. The local king
encourages Gama to recite the history of the Portuguese people, he recites it going back all the way
to ancient times.
Gama tells the story of the Roman general Quintus Sertorius, who had successful rebellion that
drove a repressive regime out of Hispania (now Portugal and Spain). Gama then describes the
growth of Portugal from a small principality to a significant European state. The story culminates in
book 4, with the 1385 Battle of Aljubarrota, in which the Portuguese defeated the Spanish kingdom
of Castile and restored the Portuguese monarch to the throne. CamГµes s patriotism is shown in his
description of Portuguese general Nuno ГЃlvares Pereira s victory over Spain.
After this battle, the Portuguese were able to launch overseas explorations, and these first voyages
are recorded in the book. Finally, Gama tells the story of his own voyage, his circumnavigation of
the Cape of Good Hope, which the Portuguese called the Cape of Storms. It is here that the most
supernatural elements of the poem appear: Adamastor and a maritime apparition. Along with these
fantastic elements, book 4 also contains highly realistic details of a ravaging disease.
The Lusiads includes an account of the battle between the goddess Venus, who is a divine advocate
on behalf of the Portuguese, and Bacchus, the patron god

oppression. In Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969), the court established a two pronged test to evaluate

action and (2) it is likely to incite or produce such action. During the demonstration, which was
attended by dozens of students, Randolph called for resistance against Universitypolicies. In his

USD officials cited concerns about drug use within the group. However, simply because one
member of the group possesses an illegal substance, it is not grounds for baring an entire group.
Administrative staff should not have requested that the newspaper editor refuse to print editorials
submitted by Randolph. In Near v. Minnesota (1931) the Supreme Court ruled that government
cannot censor or prohibit a publication in advance, even if the communication might be punishable
after publication. USD, a public state University, cannot place prior restraint on Rudolph s
editorials as submitted to the newspaper. After the publication of the editorial those who disagree
have the privilege to write a rebuttal. Even though the editorials in question were calling for
resistance, the University can sensor the material after the fact or punish the writer, but authorities
cannot take any action regarding an article prior to it being printed, per the Near decision. Also,
USD cannot prevent or deny requests made by a group to use designated student meeting areas on
campus, unless illegal activity is involved. Although, Randolph s speech incited violence, the
actions of one individual do not indicate that other members of LPS hold the same beliefs.
Therefore, the University cannot punish and ban the group from having a presence on the

Ender s Game Comparison Essay
This is a comparative review of the book and the movie ender s game. In this review I will
compare the book ender s game written by Orson Scott Card to the movie ender s game directed
by gavin hood. Imagine that an alien species called the buggers or (formic) has attacked earth
twice in the last 50 years and almost wiped out the human species. The world government needs
to prepare a general to be ready for the next invasion. Ender s game is about a boy named ender
who goes to a space station military school and learns how to be a commander. He becomes the
best commander in his school and moves to this asteroid called eros. There he plays a simulation
where he learns how to kill the buggers (or formics) and eventually destroys the whole planet.
The teachers tell him that the simulations were real and he had killed the whole planet and
wiped them out completely. He feels guilty and flies to the planet and to colonize it with his
sister and others. He finds a bugger (or formic) cocoon. There he then goes to the end of the

The movie changes the alien s name from buggers to formics. The movie also takes out the
scene where ender breaks a kids arm and replaces it with a kid throwing up. In the book ender s

how ender went from 6 two 21 throughout the book but in the movie it starts when he was
around 10 and has a period of around 6 months. In the book it shows how isolated ender was but
in the movie he makes friends really quickly. In the book gavin hood decides to remove the scene
where ender goes to the alien planet to make a new home for humans. Gavin hood replaces this by

The Amazing Adventures Of Kavalier And Clay And Amazing...
As someone who lives in the United States of America, the Freedom Capital of the World, it can
be hard for me to completely understand the horrors one endures under a dictatorship.
Practically every aspect of one s life is tightly monitored and controlled 24/7. The paranoia of
being caught doing something you should not be doing starts to wear you down more and more
every day. And god forbid you break a law or a well known rule, because there is a very good

What Is Angelina Jolie Developmental Biography
DEVELOPMENTAL HISTORY Angelina Jolie Voight was born on June 4, 1975, in Los

Aristotle And Virtue
Aristotle and the Ethics of Virtue and Character explains the theories that make up a moral
situation. First, we have expectations for the outcome of a moral situation to be utilitarian or
sometimes produce another desirable result. We also have restraints that govern the actions we
make to produce those outcomes. Last, certain character traits define who is prepared to perform
the necessary actions and be content with the results. Aristotles The Moral Virtues explains how the
mean of an excess and a deficit is the virtue. It is nearly impossible to act perfectly within the mean,
which is why Aristotle recommends that one keep away from the extreme that is more opposed to
the mean, be wary of pleasant things, and notice the direction (toward excess or deficit) toward
which one, personally, will tend. Finally, in Habit and Virtue, Aristotle defines virtue as a result of
habituation. Character is developed through the repetition of activities, and therefore the aim of the

explained this by noting the unique place of a third class in a company. First, a 3/C must use the

especially since the youngsters were shotgunned and are having to learn an entirely new

History and Analysis of Mormonism in America Essay
History and Analysis of Mormonism in America
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints was officially organized by Joseph Smith in
Western New York on April 6, 1830, and by 1978, spread to more than seventy nations. One
uniqueness of the Mormon religion is that it was the first church to have begun in the United
States.
Following the revivals of the 1800 s, religion entered a temporary decline in Western New York,
reawakened in 1807 1808, then declined again because of the military excitement The Chnts of
1812.
After this time, a new wave of revivalism began, in liberal churches such as the Unitarians and to

He went into the woods to pray and in the words of Joseph Smith, I saw a pillar of light over my
head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me . . . when
the light rested upon me I saw two personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description,
standing above me in the air. One of them spoke unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to
the other, This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him. To Joseph this meant that he was forgiven of his sins
and was not to join any of the organized churches.
For the Mormons the visit of an angel to Joseph Smith during the night of September 21, 1823,
signaled the documentary foundation of Mormonism. A statue representing the angel stands atop
the Salt Lake Temple. In one hand the figure holds a trumpet: in the other are clasped plates
symbolic of the Book of Mormon, the ancient religious record whose existence Smith claimed was
revealed to him in 1823.
Shortly after his first vision Joseph Smith was concerned with his lack of spirituality. He was
praying on Sept. 21 when he was rewarded with the appearance of an angelic being who said his
name was Moroni. It was Moroni who told Joseph Smith where the gold leaves or plates were
located. Smith tried to keep this secret, however, word got out. And today, this religion is practiced
by millions in the United States.

The Deaths Of Normal Stars
Neutron Stars
Guadalupe Zamudio
SMT 314 03
Professor Dawdy
October 26, 2016 The deaths of normal stars give birth to neutron stars. Neutron Stars are products
of the so called supernova. Supernovae transpire during the death of a highly developed star which
occurs when there is not enough nuclear fuel to keep the pressure intact inside the core of a star
(Gursky 1975). The aftermath of a supernova is crucial because it frees iron, carbon, copper, and
oxygen along with other elements found in a star. This explosion completely demolishes the star
and has the ability to transform into either a black hole or neutron star (Freddy 2006). These
supernovae are extremely bright and every 200 years there is an explosion that happens to be big
enough and bright enough to be seen from earth. Neutron stars are very significant within the
universe. It is said that the neutron star was discovered before the before the neutron. It was Lev
Landau who first wrote about and studied dense stars. He focused his research on the idea there
were objects in the universe that were denser than but as small as white dwarfs and regular stars
(Haensel 2007). This focus leads to the discovery of the fascinating and complicated neutron star.
The end is only the beginning for neutron stars.
The neutron star is composed of the combination of both electron and protons that will develop into
purely neutrons, which make up the core (Astronomy 2016). The density of neutron stars is so

My Hidden Quality Is That I Enjoy Taking Care Of Newborns,...
Elvira Heidinger My hidden quality is that I enjoy taking care of newborns, toddlers or elderlies.
Usually, I am a very introverted person and I need a long time to open up to people, but it is

from the beginning. Taking care of newborns is something I really enjoy. It is my passion to

stage of their life. However, I also like to spend time with toddleres. I like to plan activities for
them and give the opportunites to learn in a playful way. Children learn every day and it is
important to me to give them as much possibilities to learn about the world as possible. It is
very easy for me to explain things in their level of communication, and I enjoy to see things from
their perspective. I read a lot of lecture about different children pedagogics and it is very

Why Do I Want To Attend Troy University?
Ever since my sister attended Troy University and told me about all the superior activities Troy
has to offer, I have wanted to attend this college. Troy has an outstanding nursing program, and
that is the career field I plan on going into prior graduation. I have always wanted to specialize in
neonatal nursing with sick babies. Troy also has some awesome sororities at their school I am
interested in being a part of. Alpha Gamma Delta is the sorority I am most interested in. They

Nursing has always been a dream of mine. My sister has just graduated nursing school and has
now obtained her RN license and she loves being a nurse and helping people. I want to help adults

World War I Gained Its Label
World War I was, simply put, a war like no other. It was the first total war the world had
experienced and it revolutionized our idea of war and what it entailed. World War I eventually
coined the nickname the war to end all wars ; which we now find to be ironic because there have
been plenty of wars since. At the time, however, it was believed that society would be rebirthed
by the war and it would be changed to a more perfect form. There would be no sense in war
anymore because humanity would finally be ideal. Yet when we examine the casualties and
destruction post war, they add up to a horrific amount. During this era, it seemed nearly impossible
for war to continue, in consideration to the welfare of humanity. Still though, it only... Show more

Sometimes, terrible things have to happen so necessary changes can take place. In contrast to
President Wilson s more rational ideals, Winston Churchill, an allied leader, argued this. He
claimed that, We are not meant to find peace in this world, and that war often brought progress and
necessary revolutions for the betterment of society. Some believed it would erase the class systems
and return the mannerly values of society. Others believed it would overthrow the oppressing sense
of dictatorship and democracy would prevail. Colonials believed that maybe the Europeans would
finally grant them independence.
Although war brings death and destruction, the world could be worse without it. Sometimes
there s a lot to lose but even more to gain. Even Emile Zola, a person notorious for being a leftist,
found that, it is only the warlike nations that have prospered. A nation dies as soon as it disarms.
War is the school of discipline, sacrifice, and courage. The Great War could not be the war to end
all wars because history repeats itself. Just as World War Iwas seemingly bound to happen, so is
every other war. An event leads to another event, which will eventually lead to war. Life seems to
be a never ending cycle of major historical events and their repercussions. Nothing would ever end
war because the world doesn t know how to function without it.
World War I presented a war that was more industrial than those that had preceded it. It

The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas As A Rising Action And...
Once upon a time in era so far far away the first story was made, which created the very first plot
development. All enclosed in this plot development was a rising action, climax, falling action, and
resolution. Authors ever since have been following this plot development structure and improving
how stories are structured with every new writing. Even through the stories in Perine s Literary
Anthology such as The Most Dangerous Game, The story of an Hour , and The Ones Who Walk
Away from Omelas. , these plotstructures are evident. All of these stories start with a rising action
which is defined as, a related series of incidents in a literary plot that build toward the point of

He knocks on the door and is greeted by Ivan who says he cannot help him until General Zaroff
comes to the door and invites Rainsford in his house. Finally, one of the last parts of the rising
action in The Most Dangerous Game is when Zaroff says that he has found a new species of
game to hunt. Rainsford is confused as to what he means at first but then realizes that General
Zaroff s new most dangerous game is humans. Zaroff wants Rainsford to then be his next prey.
After Rainsford is coerced into agreeing and becoming the Generals next game, Zaroff finds
Rainsford easily at one point in the story, but he lets him escape. Rainsford then runs for miles, so
Zaroff eventually returns back to his house where the climax shows Zaroff s surprise at seeing
Rainsford hiding there. Zaroff says moments before they fight that, the dogs will eat one of them
that night while the other will sleep in the comfortable bed. Rainsford wraps up the story by
admitting that he has never slept in a more comfortable bed.
Louise Mallard is the main character throughout the entire story of, The Story of an Hour, and she
has serious heart trouble. The rising action begins when Louise s sister Josephine tells her about
what has happened to her husband while he was at work. Her husband was involved in a railroad
crash and had been killed. Louise then goes to her room to contemplate the death of her husband.

Struggles Of A Rapid Ascension Of Fame
Struggles of a Rapid Ascension to Fame Rap star G Eazy, born Gerald Earl Gillum, may only be
twenty seven years old but he has played on the same stage as legends such as Jimi Hendrix and
the Beatles to U2 and John Denver to Prince and Macklemore and many more. Coming off his
sophomore album, When It s Dark Out released December 4th, 2015, his career is reaching new

sector.
Benefits of FDI in Retail Sector:
Higher competition would lead to higher quality in products and services.
Better lifestyle as better products would be introduced.
Exports would increase due to greater sourcing of major players.
Investment in whole supply chain would increase.
Technology would be upgraded in terms of logistics, production, and distribution channels.
The markets of the sector would flourish and develop.
Employment would increase and skills manpower will develop.
A strong retailing sector would promote tourism.
Economies of scale would help lower consumer prices and increase the purchasing power of the
consumer.
In the long term it will be beneficial in the up gradation of agriculture and small scale medium scale
industries.
Supportive policy
The government has been opening up various sectors and privatize some sectors (telecom, aviation,
insurance and energy). This shows its positive attitude to FDI inflows, Retailing has already been
looked at as a prospective area for FDI. The Government is also promoting investment in supply

Prof: Lisa Browning
NOVEMBER, 2017
The Pollution Prevention Act 1990 (PPA) came into existence in order to raise the interest in
reducing pollution from the source or in another word Pollution Prevention in a way which
encourages efficient cost reduction practice from the source.
This policy by the United State according to this act mandated that pollution be prevented and most
especially reduced from the source. It further states that, in an instance where pollution in
unavoidably or unable to be prevented, then recycling of such waste should be done considering
the safety and well being of the environment and the people. In a case where it is not possible to
prevent pollution or recycled, such need to be treated in a safe manner to protect to reduce any
hazardous environment (Burnett, 2000).
The act explains source reduction as such practice that will reduce the quality of all hazardous
substance, pollution or any contaminant that enters waste stream or that is released to the
environment before it is recycled, treated or disposed. It is a means to reduce any hazards caused to
the health of the public and the ecosystem in connection with the release of any pollutant.

Duty Of Care Case Summary
1. In this case Ms. Smith might sue a building management for entering her apartment with out her
consent or, at least, the notice. However, that statement might be rejected since the building
manager had to act fast in order to prevent further damages, caused by flooding, for Ms. Smith s
and her neighbor s apartments. There is no tort occurred because Mr. Johnson had a legal authority
to enter Ms. Smith s apartment. On the other hand, the tort occurred when Mr. Johnson moved Ms.
Smith s goods from her apartment to the locker. In this case, we can say that those goods are
chattels, which are movable forms of property. Trespass to chattels occurs when a person interferes
with chattels that are in another person s possession and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, she has to prove that defendant owes her a duty of care. It must be reasonable
foreseeable that Ms. Smith s goods could be damaged or stolen by the carelessness of the
building management. And, even if that was foreseeable, there might not be any policy
considerations that would make it unfair to impose duty of care. When Ms. Smith proves that
building management has to properly maintain locker premises and provide a decent security,
she can move to the second step. She has to prove that the defendant breached the standard of
care. Since Mr. Johnson didn t provide enough security to the locker and acted less carefully, the
standard of care was breached. The standard of care is based on the Reasonable Person Test ,
which means that Mr. Johnson must had acted in the same way that a reasonable person would
act in similar circumstances. This means that Mr. Johnson had to provide security measures in
order to keep Ms. Smith s goods safe. Next, Ms. Smith has to prove that the harm was caused.
Ms. Smith has to prove that she would not have suffered a loss of stolen goods but for the
defendant s carelessness. If she will prove that there is at least a 51% chance that the Mr.
Johnson s carelessness caused her loss, then the court will award damages for all of that loss.
Finally, Ms. Smith has to prove that that type of harm she suffered was a reasonably foreseeable
result of the defendant s carelessness. This can be proved by doing a remoteness test. When

The Evolution Of Music And The Evolution Of Music
The evolution of music, how it started, and how composers create music is phenomenal nowadays,
the equipment used such as technology plays a great important role in how music is created and
produced for clients who want the music. Music composers are the main reason that music most
people hear today are available to be heard; thanks to composers, they provide the entertainment for
consumers and, like other employees that work, have to make money and earn a living for
themselves. Musiccomposition is important in the music field, because without it people wouldn
t be able to teach it or learn from it, or music probably would not exist. History in this field is
significant to the development of music, as well as the job requirements, description of the job,
and how it will affects one s life are also important. Music has been around for years, decades,
and centuries; as far back as 4000 BCE (before common era) and even earlier was when the first
drum based instruments came around (The Method Behind the Music). No notation or writing of
music in any way was done at the time as the sounds made from simple natural sources (sticks and
rocks) were used in religious ceremonies (The Method Behind the Music). As time went on, various
kinds of people experimented and created new instruments such as the Greeks creating the natural
trumpet and Egyptians creating flutes and harps (The Method Behind the Music). For many years
since then music theory has evolved from era to era and

Ronald Reagan Career Essay

Ronald Reagan hasn t always been a Republican throughout his running career but eventually turned

Where he was later accused of condoning a radical leader identified as Rios Montt and death units
affiliated with the Salvadoran military that was subsidized by the U.S. government. But with those
accusations, Reagan put a lot of energy into overthrowing the government in Nicaragua that almost
ended Reagan s presidency. Thus resulting in the U.S. Senate cutting Reagan s ties to his surrogate
army in Central America. Which this ended with The White House running the war from the
basement of The White House and funded the operation by paying for some of it with prohibited
arms sales to Iran that triggered the Iran Contra Affair. These complications ended in Reagan
evading prosecution by his affiliates saying he had no knowledge of the affair.
It s astonishing how Reagan s influence toward the American people had such an impression on all
who underwent it. The Reagan revolution shockingly remains to this very day. The war on terror
has substituted the Cold Waras an appearance for the intervention abroad, including the unfortunate
war in Iraq. Tax cuts for the prosperous and massive improvements in U.S. armed forces spending
have strengthened the period of colossal budget deficiencies. Furthermore, as the Great

Fragile Families
The provided article is inspired from a multi decade long research of the causes and consequences
of declines in marriage and related increases in nonmarital childbrearing. The term fragile families
may be referred to in this paper, which can be defined as unmarried parents who remain coupled to
some degree at the time of their child s birth (Usdansky, London, and Wilmouth, 2009, p. 768).
Hypothesis
Usdansky, London, and Wilmouth (2009, p. 769) review the exploratory hypotheses about whether
men s veteran status increases the likelihood that an unmarried couple will transition to marriage
within 5 years of a nonmarital birth and whether the effect of men s veteran status on the propensity
to marry differs among Whites, Blacks, and Hispanics. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

immigrant status and structure of family of origin.

Discussion
The following are direct results from the research of Usdanksy, London, and
Wilmouth (2009). Couples with Black Veteran fathers were 54% more likely to marry within 5
years of the birth than couples with Black nonveteran fathers. They also found that military service
did not increase odds for Whites and Hispanics. Couples with White or Hispanic nonveteran
fathers however were twice as likely to marry as couples with
Black nonveteran fathers. It was observed that the impact of military service endures among
African American men in fragile families, which could be related to the benefits that are much
more significant and greater lasting for Black men than other ethnic groups. Overall, the group of
researchers for this journal found that the limitation of racial groups in which the study focused on
leaves a range of direcet and indirect questions

The Modern Culture And Lifestyle Of Rastafarian Culture
The Modern Culture and Lifestyle of RastafariThe modern culture of Rastafarianism is extensive.
Rastafarian culture has many aspects of its being. This makes Rastafarianism a tough task for
those new to it. There are many Rastafarian rules for both men and women. For example,
Rastafarian women are called sistren and they have to abide by more rules than men. These rules
consist of language restrictions and dress codes. Women are prohibited from swearing, saying
anything sexually suggestive, and arguing. Sistren do not wear pants. Rastafarian women can only

They also have a neutral stance; they believe that money is neither good or evil. Rastas know
that money is not life. One big aspect of Rastafarian culture is that they do not eat meat. Some

without having to use meat. Some Rastas eat fish, but it has to have scales, but some choose to
not eat meat at all. Rastas cooking often includes plant based protein using greens and peanuts.
They believe that their food should have color, texture and flavor. Rastas believe that your body
is a temple and they stick to an Ital diet. A lot of the early belief system of Rastafarianism was
built off of hate for white people and what was have done to the black nation as a whole. Now
Rastas stand against hate, jealousy, envy, deceit, craftiness, treachery, etc. Another belief that has
changed over the time is that Rastas believed that Haile Selassie was god, but now most of the

Azo Dyes Lab Report
The dye studied in this experiment comes from a group of dyes called azo dyes. These dyes are
arranged as two aromatic rings connected by two double bonded nitrogen atoms (R N=N R). The
two nitrogen atoms being double bonded together cause the color that the dye produces. Azo
violet is also used in labs as a pH indicator because of the fact that it turns from an yellow orange
colorin acidic and neutral environments (and also when used as a dye) to a deep purple in basic
environments. The amount and locations of double bonds in the molecule determine the color
given off. The electrons have a lower threshold to overcome when changing energy levels if the
double bonds are numerous and located close to each other. As a result of these energy changes
that occur when the double bonds are added, different wavelengths are absorbed and reflected by
the molecule. It is these wavelengths that are reflected that can be observed by the human eye as
color. Whenever the wavelength that is reflected from a molecule is outside the visible light
spectrum the product appears colorless. Luckily this is not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is a two stage operation. The first step is the creation of an azide salt. Mixing hydrochloric
acid and sodium carbonate with p sulfanilic acid does this. This step is called a diazo sedation. The
main observation with this step is that the leaving group is so good that several products are
obtained. Then the leaving group can alter the p sulfanilic acid, which is an aromatic amine in this
experiment, into differing functional groups. For this alteration to take place a second aromatic
element is added to the reaction mixture. In this experiment that addition aromatic compound is N
N dimethyl aniline. When this compound is added, diazonium coupling takes place and an

Verbal And Non Verbal Communication
Communication is the art of transmitting ideas, thoughts ad knowledge from one person to another.
Communication need not essentially mean verbal communication. Communication can be verbal
and non verbal. Non Verbal Communication is the practiced means of interaction amongst the
audibly challenged community. This audibly challenged community uses a region or country
specific sign language to communicate their ideas and wants. Sign Language Translators are
essential to bridge the communication gap between the audibly challenged community and the
rest of the world. Today a lot of systems are being funded and built to computerize the work of
Sign Language Translator. These Sign Language Recognition Systems are Learning Systems.
When the system fails to recognize the word, the system attempts to learn the sign or gesture and
recognizes when the same sign is performed later on. There are many different types of Sign
Languages and as mentioned these languages are very region specific i.e., Indian Sign Language
(ISL), American Sign Language (ASL), etc. Each of the sign language holds a large collection of
signs or gestures corresponding to a particular. Many a time, there might be different gestures for
the same word. Major issue with these Sign Languages is that the information available about the
gestures are multichannel. This paper focuses on recognizing Indian Sign Language. In ISL there
has been no standardized dictionary as of date to use and build Recognition Systems. The

Take cancer for example, in the body it spreads every minute. The sooner it is diagnosed and treated the higher the chances of survival for this horrible disease. • 12. The Components Of Social Conflict And Social Identity Theory Tal classifies this mechanism as sociopsychological infrastructure. It manifests in collective memory, the ethos of conflict and collective emotional orientation (p.1430). These are the mechanism that distinguishes one group from another. Hence the collective memory, the ethos of conflict and collective emotional orientation are what member of a group share, against the other . A classic case of we against them. The question of how these operate from an individual s point of view becomes imperative. Social Identity Theory Tajfel Turner, (1979) the proponents of social identitytheory helped in the understanding of intergroup relations. Their focus was on the complex interweaving of an individual or interpersonal behavior with contextual social processes of intergroup conflict (p.276). social identity theory, therefore emphasizes intergroup relations (relationship of an individual has with his group and between an outgroup) and categorical distinction (what sets an individual apart from another outgroup) . Korostelina describes this as the processes of identification with other group members (p.23). Personal identities are consequently reflected in an individual s social identity. For instance, an individual with an Islamic conviction cannot be found in a church on a Sunday. The term inherently flame resistant fabric is one that is used for fabrics that do not required the addition of flame retardant chemicals after the yarns have been spun or the fabric has been woven or knitted. The yarns of these fabric use only fibres that are naturally flame resistant. The common theme is no flame retardant chemicals are added to the yarn or fabric. • 17. The Philosophy Of Mind By Paul Churchland Philosophy of Mind In contemporary philosophy of mind, talk of perception has fallen out of favour. Indeed most writers to deny perception altogether, or claim that they do not matter. Instead they reduce perception to reality, or speak of the really real. Perception are said to be nothing but particles or waves or structured brain events. Always already Nothing but matter and motion. One influential philosopher of mind, Paul Churchland in his book The Engine of Reason, The Seat of the Soul replaces the perceiver with functioning biological bodies. The perceiver gets reduced to an organized body, mind becomes the brain, body motions become actions, man becomes the person. Churchland redefines phenomenal qualities as being nothing but properties of the brain. Cognitive events such as understanding, recognising, feeling, and perceiving are replaced with neural analogs. Here psychological events are treated solely as neural events. This is the prevailing view in cognitive science. These contemporary materialists have two claims. This first claim is that all perceptions can be explained in terms of or by reference to neural events and the like. The second claim is that there are only neural events (and other physical events in the environment). At the heart of the dismissal of perception is the combination of two beliefs. The first is that science, especially neurological science, has access to reality; and second, the distrust of perceiver dependent events. As modern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These two strands have been heavily debated within neorealist theory, particularly by Mearsheimer in favor of offensive neorealism and Waltz in favor of defensive neorealism. John Mearsheimer believes that the goal of states is to maximize power while Waltz believes the goal of states is to maintain their positions in the system (Snyder, 2001). There is no punishment for irrational or aggressive behavior because of the anarchic nature of the system so states must rely on themselves for survival, through the use of power. Due to anarchy, states will balance against their peers by imitation, by boosting their national assets (internal balancing), forming alliances with other states (external balancing) or by adopting the successful power generating practices of the prospective hegemon (emulation) (Wohlforth et.al, 2007) and these 3 processes will prevent hegemony. Neorealism relates to European integration most specifically in terms of the aforementioned balance of power. The local king encourages Gama to recite the history of the Portuguese people, he recites it going back all the way to ancient times. Gama tells the story of the Roman general Quintus Sertorius, who had successful rebellion that drove a repressive regime out of Hispania (now Portugal and Spain). Gama then describes the growth of Portugal from a small principality to a significant European state. The story culminates in book 4, with the 1385 Battle of Aljubarrota, in which the Portuguese defeated the Spanish kingdom of Castile and restored the Portuguese monarch to the throne. CamГµes s patriotism is shown in his description of Portuguese general Nuno ГЃlvares Pereira s victory over Spain. The world government needs to prepare a general to be ready for the next invasion. Ender s game is about a boy named ender who goes to a space station military school and learns how to be a commander. He becomes the best commander in his school and moves to this asteroid called eros. There he plays a simulation where he learns how to kill the buggers (or formics) and eventually destroys the whole planet. The teachers tell him that the simulations were real and he had killed the whole planet and wiped them out completely. As someone who lives in the United States of America, the Freedom Capital of the World, it can be hard for me to completely understand the horrors one endures under a dictatorship. Within the stories of Michael Chabon s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay and Junot DГaz s The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, the main characters were terrorized by two different dictatorships with their usage of scare tactics, surveillance abuse, and the stripping of their citizen s basic human rights in order to oppress and terrorize the people and obtain complete power over them. First, we have expectations for the outcome of a moral situation to be utilitarian or sometimes produce another desirable result. We also have restraints that govern the actions we make to produce those outcomes. Last, certain character traits define who is prepared to perform the necessary actions and be content with the results. Aristotles The Moral Virtues explains how the mean of an excess and a deficit is the virtue. It is nearly impossible to act perfectly within the mean, which is why Aristotle recommends that one keep away from the extreme that is more opposed to the mean, be wary of pleasant things, and notice the direction (toward excess or deficit) toward which one, personally, will tend. One of them spoke unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other, This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him. Neutron Stars are products of the so called supernova. Supernovae transpire during the death of a highly developed star which occurs when there is not enough nuclear fuel to keep the pressure intact inside the core of a star (Gursky 1975). The aftermath of a supernova is crucial because it frees iron, carbon, copper, and oxygen along with other elements found in a star. This explosion completely demolishes the star and has the ability to transform into either a black hole or neutron star (Freddy 2006). These supernovae are extremely bright and every 200 years there is an explosion that happens to be big enough and bright enough to be seen from earth. Neutron stars are very significant within the universe. It is said that the neutron star was discovered before the before the neutron. It was Lev Landau who first wrote about and studied dense stars. He focused his research on the idea there were objects in the universe that were denser than but as small as white dwarfs and regular stars (Haensel 2007). This focus leads to the discovery of the fascinating and complicated neutron star. The end is only the beginning for neutron stars. The neutron star is composed of the combination of both electron and protons that will develop into purely neutrons, which make up the core (Astronomy 2016). The density of neutron stars is so ... When Ms. Smith proves that building management has to properly maintain locker premises and provide a decent security, she can move to the second step. The war on terror has substituted the Cold Waras an appearance for the intervention abroad, including the unfortunate war in Iraq. Tax cuts for the prosperous and massive improvements in U.S. armed forces spending have strengthened the period of colossal budget deficiencies. • 50. Fragile Families The provided article is inspired from a multi decade long research of the causes and consequences of declines in marriage and related increases in nonmarital childbrearing. The term fragile families may be referred to in this paper, which can be defined as unmarried parents who remain coupled to some degree at the time of their child s birth (Usdansky, London, and Wilmouth, 2009, p. 768). Hypothesis Usdansky, London, and Wilmouth (2009, p. 769) review the exploratory hypotheses about whether men s veteran status increases the likelihood that an unmarried couple will transition to marriage within 5 years of a nonmarital birth and whether the effect of men s veteran status on the propensity to marry differs among Whites, Blacks, and Hispanics. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mothers and fathers were interviews upon child s birth, and again when the child was 1, 3, and 5 years old. The key independent variable was couples on the basis of the father s veteran status and their racial ethnicity. Age was also a contributin factor for both the mothers and fathers as well as paternal immigrant status and structure of family of origin. Torson 3 Discussion The following are direct results from the research of Usdanksy, London, and Wilmouth (2009). Couples with Black Veteran fathers were 54% more likely to marry within 5 years of the birth than couples with Black nonveteran fathers. They also found that military service did not increase odds for Whites and Hispanics. Couples with White or Hispanic nonveteran fathers however were twice as likely to marry as couples with Black nonveteran fathers. It was observed that the impact of military service endures among African American men in fragile families, which could be related to the benefits that are much more significant and greater lasting for Black men than other ethnic groups. Overall, the group of researchers for this journal found that the limitation of racial groups in which the study focused on leaves a range of direcet and indirect questions ... • 51. The Modern Culture And Lifestyle Of Rastafarian Culture The Modern Culture and Lifestyle of RastafariThe modern culture of Rastafarianism is extensive. Rastafarian culture has many aspects of its being. This makes Rastafarianism a tough task for those new to it. There are many Rastafarian rules for both men and women. For example, Rastafarian women are called sistren and they have to abide by more rules than men. These rules consist of language restrictions and dress codes. Women are prohibited from swearing, saying anything sexually suggestive, and arguing. Sistren do not wear pants. Rastafarian women can only wear colors on the red, yellow and green spectrum for those are considered to be the colors of Babylon. Rastafarian women do the housework and raise the children. One big aspect of Rastafarian culture is that they do not eat meat. Some even choose to cook without salt. Rastas aim for an abundance of flavor in their cooking without having to use meat. Some Rastas eat fish, but it has to have scales, but some choose to not eat meat at all. Rastas cooking often includes plant based protein using greens and peanuts. They believe that their food should have color, texture and flavor. Rastas believe that your body is a temple and they stick to an Ital diet. A lot of the early belief system of Rastafarianism was built off of hate for white people and what was have done to the black nation as a whole. Now Rastas stand against hate, jealousy, envy, deceit, craftiness, treachery, etc. Another belief that has changed over the time is that Rastas believed that Haile Selassie was god, but now most of the Rastafarian community know that there is a god besides him. They now call Selassie the second coming of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. Azo Dyes Lab Report The dye studied in this experiment comes from a group of dyes called azo dyes. These dyes are arranged as two aromatic rings connected by two double bonded nitrogen atoms (R N=N R). The two nitrogen atoms being double bonded together cause the color that the dye produces. Azo violet is also used in labs as a pH indicator because of the fact that it turns from an yellow orange colorin acidic and neutral environments (and also when used as a dye) to a deep purple in basic environments. The amount and locations of double bonds in the molecule determine the color given off. The electrons have a lower threshold to overcome when changing energy levels if the double bonds are numerous and located close to each other. As a result of these energy changes that occur when the double bonds are added, different wavelengths are absorbed and reflected by the molecule. It is these wavelengths that are reflected that can be observed by the human eye as color. Whenever the wavelength that is reflected from a molecule is outside the visible light spectrum the product appears colorless. Luckily this is not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a two stage operation. The first step is the creation of an azide salt. Mixing hydrochloric acid and sodium carbonate with p sulfanilic acid does this. This step is called a diazo sedation. The main observation with this step is that the leaving group is so good that several products are obtained. Then the leaving group can alter the p sulfanilic acid, which is an aromatic amine in this experiment, into differing functional groups. For this alteration to take place a second aromatic element is added to the reaction mixture. In this experiment that addition aromatic compound is N N dimethyl aniline. When this compound is added, diazonium coupling takes place and an electrophilic aromatic substitution reaction takes place. This reaction leads to the formation of a para product methyl orange ... • 54. Verbal And Non Verbal Communication Communication is the art of transmitting ideas, thoughts ad knowledge from one person to another. Communication need not essentially mean verbal communication. Communication can be verbal and non verbal. Non Verbal Communication is the practiced means of interaction amongst the audibly challenged community. This audibly challenged community uses a region or country specific sign language to communicate their ideas and wants. Sign Language Translators are essential to bridge the communication gap between the audibly challenged community and the rest of the world. Today a lot of systems are being funded and built to computerize the work of Sign Language Translator. These Sign Language Recognition Systems are Learning Systems. When the system fails to recognize the word, the system attempts to learn the sign or gesture and recognizes when the same sign is performed later on. There are many different types of Sign Languages and as mentioned these languages are very region specific i.e., Indian Sign Language (ISL), American Sign Language (ASL), etc. Each of the sign language holds a large collection of signs or gestures corresponding to a particular. Many a time, there might be different gestures for the same word. Major issue with these Sign Languages is that the information available about the gestures are multichannel. This paper focuses on recognizing Indian Sign Language. In ISL there has been no standardized dictionary as of date to use and build Recognition Systems. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
