Abstract
No one particular organism is an exact replica of another. Diversity in the world is
key for future generations to adapt to the fast changing world. This lab observed the
corn plant of the Zea mays species to determine the genotype for the gene of tall
versus dwarf in unknown parent corn plants by observing the seedlings produced. It
was hypothesized that one parent is heterozygous while the other is homozygous
recessive. The predicted results were that half of the seedlings would contain the tall

for planting was Miracal Grow planting soil. The soil also consisted of peat moss,
composted inner bark of hardwoods, and micro nutrients. The pH of the soil was

Indians students in US facing cultural disconnect on campus
Indians love to boast about the cultural diversity of their land, but it is not until they
arrive at a US university that they encounter the real thing. All said and done, some
things are the same wherever you go in India, and there are not that many surprises.
But new Indian students who arrive in the US are never quite prepared for the
cultural tidal wave that await them on campus.
However, most of them overcome the culture shock eventually and come to love their
campus lives, so much so that they suffer a reverse culture shock when they visit
home. The initial months of adjustment are the most difficult for Indian students.
Here we discuss some problem areas and how students find solutions.
Communication
The main difficulty that Indian students face on campus is how to interact with other
international and American students and teachers. A large majority of Indian
students, even some of those who have graduated in the English medium from
reputed schools in big cities in India, not to speak of small towns, struggle to

We watched the film Knocking in class, it was based on Jehovah s Witness
experiences and it demonstrated to us some of the challenges they face day to day.
New religious movements such as Jehovah s Witnesses face religious tolerance from
everyone around them even those in their family. Religious Tolerance can be defined
as allowing people to believe or practice which ever religionthey choose. If there is a

not one person lives the same life with the same experience in the same social
