Augusto Pinochet Research Paper
The 1950 1960s brought about the spread of worldwide marxism, while simultaneously prompting
extremist anti communist practices, particularly in the United States. Though the Cold War centered
around the northern hemisphere, South America was not immune to the marxist ideology and political
atmosphere. However, until the late 1960 s Chile remained comparatively stable to neighboring
countries. Nevertheless, the election of Socialist Salvador Allende Gossens in 1970 brought severe
political unrest. The first election of an openly marxist leader alarmed many Americans and weakened
ties between the two countries. Allende s policies to limit inflation by freezing prices and raising
income backfired and succeeded only in angering the U.S. as Chilean ... Show more content on

In 1990, he resigned as head of state but remained commander in chief of Chile s military. Pinochet
relinquished the title of commander in chief and was resorted to the position of Senator for life in
1998. In October of the same year, he was arrested in London by the request of Spain. The remainder
of Pinochet s life was wrought with legal affairs and his medical decline. Despite his disputed legal
position, Pinochet remained senator of Chile until he resigned in 2002 due to the state of his health.
He faced several accusations of murder and violating human rights, yet was deemed unfit for trial
multiple times. However, Pinochet was placed under house arrest five times, the last just after his
ninety first birthday. Augusto Pinochet died in December of

Radiohead Research Paper
Exactly six months to the day before Donald Trump was elected president of the United States,
Radiohead released their eerily prescient and hypnotic ninth album, A Moon Shaped Pool, to great
fanfare. Nothing could have foretold the future more than the lyrics to the opening song, Burn the
Witch : Abandon all reason / avoid all eye contact / this is a low flying panic attack. Backed by a
repetitive and sawing string arrangement and an equally disturbing music video, it s one of the most
overtly political songs Radiohead has ever done, as well as one of their all time best. The following
track, Daydreaming is nearly as good, with vocal loops and mournful piano reminiscent of Radiohead
s very best work from 2000 s Kid A. The final minute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each song transitions smoothly into the next one, with a prime example being the smooth transition
from the Decks Dark, a guitar driven, hooky number reminiscent of the band s OK Computer era
down to its extraterrestrial subject matter, to Desert Island Disc, a low key, Nick Drake esque acoustic
ballad. The songs all deal with the same underlying themes of heartbreak and, especially, a deep
rooted paranoia, a common subject matter in Radiohead songs. Although Radiohead were once pegged
as the preeminent doomsayers (Greene) of a generation, their characteristic paranoia is more
understandable now than ever

Women s Model Of Care
There not just apart of the furniture, they are apart of the community (Fire films, 2014, June 26).
Arcare in Australia recently changed their model of care to patient centered; with a successful
transition they are better able to support the elderly and staff at the care home and have provided the
elderly with a greater quality of life. Traditionally leisure based programs such as the leisure ability
model, have been implemented and focus on the client and assisting with independence and
appropriate leisure functioning, with 3 main ideas, education, participation and treatment (Stumbo
Peterson, 1998, p. 82 83). The leisure ability model is used all around the world and focuses on an
individuals internal locus (Stumbo Peterson, 1998, p. 82). As the quality manager, this model, I
believe is no longer relevant in current society. A move to the patient centered model would ensure
relationships are the focus, where all clients live in a supportive and encouraging community (Fire
films, 2014, June 26). The change to the patient centered model would ensure clients, staff, volunteers
and families are included and able to form loving and caring relationships. (Fire films, 2014, June 26).
By exploring the negatives and benefits of change in regards to clients and staff and also how the
change would be implemented, a better understanding of the patient cantered model can be
established. The patient centered model does not just view an individual as elderly but treats them as

Beliefs of the Anti-Federalists Essay
The name, Anti Federalists is not the best suited name for what they truly are, or what they believe in.
They are called the Anti Federalists, but it should be made clear at once that they were not Anti
Federal at all. (Main xi) Originally, the word federalist, meant anyone who supported the Articles of
Confederation. The term Anti Federalist was placed on them to portray them as people who did not
agree with the Federal Government, which was exactly opposite of what they are. According to the
proper definition, the Anti Federalists were really more Federal than the so called Federalists. Many
Anti Federalists felt this way because they took their bearings from the principles of federalism laid
down in the Articles. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They thought that the national government would soon dominate the state governments. The
Federalists started calling the groups of people who disagreed with them the Anti Federalists. The
Federalists felt that what they were trying to do what was best for the country and government,
therefore being more federal . Not only were they calling their enemies Anti Federalists just because
they did not agree with them, but they also had a reason behind it. The Federalists idea was the use of
the term was the way some great men had to deceive the common people, and prevent their knowing
what they were about. (Main xiii) This idea states that the term anti puts on an image that they are not
for the federal government. The Federalists were trying to convince the people that the Anti
Federalists were not fighting for, but against the country and government. In the Boston American
Herald of December 10, 1787 there was a phrase that became helpful to the people: A FEDERALIST
is a Friend to a Federal Government An ANTI FEDERALIST is an Enemy to a Confederation.
Therefore, the FRIENDS to the New Plan of CONSOLIDATION, are Anti Federal, and its Opposers
are firm Federal Patriots. (Main xii) This newspaper was trying to show to the common people (Main
xiii) what the Anti Federalists believed in. The Federalists wanted a large national government and
smaller state governments, whereas the

Evaluation Of A Suitable Type Of Asset Allocation
In this modern world of globalization, well and properly planned portfolio is very important and a
success story to any investor. As a private or an individual investor its best for you to determine the
right assets allocation, that best fit to your personal investment goals and strategies. As a matter of fact
the portfolio you choose should meet your future needs for huge capital growth, with a promise of
peace of mind. Individual who want to enter into investment can create a portfolio, which will fall in
line with their goals, objectives as well as their investment strategies. This can be done by way of
following a systematic approach. Here I outlined some important steps for engaging in such an
approach:  Determining a Suitable Type ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Any investor aspiration is to earn high return on his or her investment day in day out, but what is the
point if you are unable to sleep at night when the cash you have invested drops a little while. In this
case I can say the personality cannot withstand the stress then the assets are not worth the stress. As
explained above, expounding your present position and your future needs for capital, including your
risk tolerance, will aid you, as to how your investments should be assigned among varied asset classes.
Knowing the principle of tradeoffs and risks which quotes as, the chances of better returns comes at
the expense of high risk of losses. So an example is the 20year old gentle man who just started
employment who will not depend on his/her investment for income can choose to take higher risks in
the quest for very high returns on his investment. The Couple in their 30 s who wish to save for their
retirement on the other hand need to be focused on protecting their assets and ensuring that they draw
income from their investment assets in a very tax efficient way. Largely, if an individual investor bear
more risks, the more hostile the individual portfolio will be, assigning a bigger percentage to equities
and few to bonds and other fixed income securities as available. On the other hand if

Family Should Be Best Friends
I have always been told that the siblings or sibling in a family should be best friends. As I was
growing up with an older brother, things were not always like that in my house. It was hard for me to
see my friends hanging out and going to lunch with their older siblings because I never had that
relationship with my older brother, Zack. Zack was different. He had a lot going on with his life so
when he wouldn t talk to me or blow me off, I would just shake it off and pretend that eventually he
would become that fun, older brother we all see in movies. Then I finally realized, nothing would
change. I was devastated to never have that relationship with my brother because I didn t understand
why he never wanted to be with me. What have I done wrong? Am I really that annoying as a little
sister? That was until my mother informed on what was going on with Zack. He had severe social and
anger issues which caused him to be jealous of me because of all my friends that I had, leading him to
be mean and angry with me all the time because of his anger issues. I felt awful for my poor big
brother. He doesn t deserve this, I would think to myself at night. These thoughts and feelings went on
until the summer of 2015, when everything changed. In the period of time from when I pretended like
nothing was wrong with my brother to when I found out, I focused a lot on my friends. I made so
many close friends who I considered to be siblings more than Zack. It was like I had 15 unrelated

This gave James an idea, which he shared with Ernie and their friend Terri Jones when he got home

know we can get customers because I ve just seen them all at Klecko s. If we provide a copy service
right here in the Southgate complex, we ll make a killing. Terri and Ernie liked the idea, so the three
decided to go into the copying business. They would call it JET Copies, named for James, Ernie, and
Terri. Their first step was to purchase a copier. They bought one like the one used in the college of
business office at State for $ 18,000. (Terri s parents provided a loan.) The company that sold them the
copier touted the copier s reliability, but after they bought it, Ernie talked with someone in the dean s
office at State, who told him that the University s copier broke down frequently and when it did, it
often took between 1 and 4 days to get it repaired. When Ernie told this to Terri and James, they
became worried. If the copier broke down frequently and was not in use for long periods while they
waited for a repair person to come fix it, they could lose a lot of revenue. As a result, James, Ernie,
and Terri thought they might need to purchase a smaller backup copier for $ 8,000 to use when the
main copier broke down. However,

Glyphosate Essay
n regard to exposure to glyphosate and chemicals used in GMO products, the World Health
Organization conducted a study to analyze crops treated with this particular chemical. The
Organization concluded that glyphosate cannot be washed out of crops. Glyphosate cannot be
removed from a crop even through cooking and cleaning methods. (Organic Consumer s Association)
In addition, the Organization found a correlation that the more GMO RoundUp herbicide is sprayed
on crop fields, the more residue that builds up over time. This leads to increased exposure to operators
handling the herbicide, especially when they neglect to wear protective gear while spraying crops.
(Organic Consumer s Association) This is why opponents want Non GMO products. Since the
organization has claimed that glyphosate cannot be washed or cooked out of the crop, this is a good
reason why the public is demanding Non GMO foods. Therefore, the consumer believes that it can be
dangerous to consume these foods. Local farmers organic crops can suffer from exposure to GMO
seeds due to environmental elements such as wind that can transpose seeds, which ruins the natural
element within the organic crop. Aside from this occurrence, when GMO seeds become too resistant
to herbicides such as RoundUp Ready, an increase use of pesticides is needed to prevent insects from
contaminating the product. (Indiana Journal...Brush). According to OCA, RoundUp can be three times
more toxic than pure glyphosate,

Van Gogh Depression And Depression
Van Gogh and Depression I am so angry with myself because I cannot do what I should like to do, and
at such a moment one feels as if one were lying bound hand and foot at the bottom of a deep dark
well, utterly hopeless, said Vincent Van Gogh in a letter to his brother (Popova). This is how some
people who suffer from depression feel on a day to day basis, but not every case is the same. Because
people who have depression are all affected in different ways, it is often misunderstood. Depression is
not as simple as one may think. It is more than just feeling sad sometimes or having a bad day.
Depression, the most common form of mental illness, is actually a brain disorder caused by an
imbalance of chemicals in the brain (Hyde and Forsyth 6). There are many causes of depression
including stressful life events like the loss of a loved one or physical or mental abuse (Mooney 16 17,
19). Depression can also be hereditary, meaning it is passed down genetically through families (Hyde
and Forsyth 21). Numerous types of depression exist, but the three most common ones are major
depression, manic depression, and dysthymia (Mooney 9 11). Symptoms of depression vary greatly. If
someone starts isolating themselves, losing interest in hobbies, having trouble concentrating, skipping
classes, and/or using drugs and alcohol, they may be suffering from depression (Mooney 24 25). Other
mental symptoms are frequently feeling sad, empty, hopeless, or worthless; being more restless and

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Block Grants
Grant writing is a great skill to have, especially if you are planning to have a career in the criminal
justice field. What many do not know however is that there are many different types of grants. Each
type of grant has its own unique purpose, advantages, and disadvantages. These different kinds of
grants include block grants, employment grants, program grants, technology grants, construction
grants, and research grants. It is important to educate yourself on these different types of grants so that
you can have a better understanding of the skills needed to be a successful grant writer. Frist, we have
block grants. A block grant is basically when the federal government gives out large amounts of
money to local and state authorities in order to funds things such as public enforcement, law
enforcement, or community development. Often times there is a lot of discretion given in regards to
how the money is spent, so there is no fine detail when it comes to how the money is going to be used.
Two examples of this kind of grant program is the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, also
known as welfare, and Low Income Home Energy Assistance Block Grant. Welfare is used to help
support low income families and the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Block Grant is assistance
to low income families to help pay energy bills. The advantage of block grants is that it is less
restrictive, but a disadvantage could be the use of the money ineffectively.
Secondly, we have employment

Uses of Hypnotherapy to Treat a Medical Condition
Uses of Hypnotherapy to treat a medical condition
Introduction
The purpose of this essay is to describe and explain the uses of hypnotherapy in the treatment of a
medical condition. For this essay I have chosen to look at a chronic life limiting illness called Motor
Neurone Disease. This is a disease that can affect many different aspects of a person s life and is very
aggressive in its symptoms. I have met quite a few people with this condition whilst working in the
Neurophysiology department at the QMC, where all the nerve and muscles studies and EMG s are
performed. It not only changes the person s life but also the lives of the people around them. I found
this research both upsetting and informative.
MND is a progressive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Progressive muscular atrophy is a much less common form of MND and tends to progress more
slowly than ALS. People with PMA do not experience muscle spasms and they can then go onto
develop ALS.
Progressive bulbar palsy is a form of MND that mainly affects the muscles in the throat, tongue and
face that causes difficulties with speech, swallowing, coughing and clearing the throat. PBP can also
affect the expression of emotions and people might laugh or cry for no apparent reason.
Primary lateral sclerosis is a very rare form of MND in which people experience spasticity but do not
experience muscle wasting or fasciculation s.
Unfortunately none of the above can be diagnosed with one specific hospital test and doctors will
usually recommend a series of tests and investigations which can take a long time and can cause the
person worry and upset thereby causing a knock on effect of depression and anxiety, these tests are
very important however to be able to get the correct diagnosis as all the symptoms described can also
be the pre cursor to many other illnesses and to be diagnosed with this terrible disease in error would
be awful. I think the saddest part of the disease is that although it will affect almost every part of the
person s everyday life and will stop them eventually performing the most simple of tasks such as
personal hygiene and eating it does not affect the mind or intelligence so

ATOM Risk Management Paper
Risk management needs to be an ongoing process, occurring throughout the project, because of the
ever changing aspect of risk. ATOM process includes both major and minor reviews to maintain the
vigilance required when dealing with project risk. Major reviews are designed to occur at key points in
the project to review the status of the risks and to evaluate the actions taken. Reviews evaluate the
effectiveness of the risk plan and make changes to that plan to keep up with the changes in the risks.
The major review is scheduled for major milestone points in the project, identified as part of the risk.
management plan. The risk register should have all the current information about the risks when the
review begins. In addition, the project manager will provide information with regards to the project
status and the review point. The risks will be reviewed with regards to their status, changes in
probability or impact, and the actions described for the risks. Any new risks will be assessed and
actions will be identified. Because risk needs to be monitored throughout the project and not just at
major points, our process would contain provisions for minor reviews too. Minor reviews are designed
to fill the gap between the initial risk assessment and the major review and to be ongoing throughout
the project. It carries out the reviews of the major review on a less detailed scale. After a review of
both, an updated risk register is produced. Updates to the project plan to better manage potential risks
may also be an outcome of the review. We will have risk review meetings also. Performance

Essay about Charles Darwin s Life and Revolutionary Work
Charles Darwin by far, revolutionized biology as known to modern society. He is responsible for the
theory of evolution that people of today still go by. He was born on February 12, 1809 in England as
the fifth child into the family of Dr. Robert and Susannah Darwin. He had three older sisters and one
older brother. Because of his father s success as a physician, and his mother coming from the
Wedgewood family fortune, the Darwin family was considered well off. Robert Darwin worked many
great hours while Susannah stayed home to take care of the children. Unfortunately, when Charles was
eight years old his mother passed away from complications of an illness that she had for a year. From
that point on, Robert began working much more and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After graduation, he received a letter from his friend Henslow informing him that he knew of a sailor
captain in search of a naturalist and thought Charles was best suited for the job. Though Robert
Darwin was hesitant about letting his son go, he eventually caved. The journey that Charles Darwin
went on became known as the Voyage of the Beagle. The ultimate goal of the journey was to study
and map the coast lines of South America. Charles Darwin had been given the chance to explore a
world unknown by Europeans. Not only that, but Charles would be able to do some science as well.
From the adventure, Charles Darwin learned many new fascinating things. He saw animals on land
that resembled other animals but were adapted to different things. For example, he saw two types of
lizards one that was made to live in the water and one that was made to live on land. This sparked his
curiosity. According to the book of Genesis, nothing that God has created changes. Everything
remains the same, as God had intended. When he found fossils, the same was true. He found things
that had resembled animals of his time but were slightly bigger or different in some way or another
but they had been extinct. Charles began to believe that the animals were changing despite the fact
that his thoughts went against everything he was taught. He took lots of samples of animals and
findings back home to England. He was going to need evidence to support his new theory yet it took

Classifying Different Types of Shoppers
In today s world things are a lot different than the way they used to be. People are becoming much
more alert and aware of things that are going on around them. Many people do not enjoy doing things
that other people enjoy. It can be a win or lose situation. There are some things in life that people have
to do whether they want to or not. Throughout many different places many people have to go do this
on a daily basis. Lots of men usually do not want to be involved. It is usually left for the women to
take over. There are very many types of shoppers that people deal with on a daily basis, they are
different in many ways such as, children, young adults, and senior citizens.
By all means, shopping can be difficult for children for many reasons. To start, they are very
impatient. They do not want to wait for their parents to get done shopping, whatever they want they
expect to get it now.. When checking out at the register everything is in their reach. They are then
grabbing things and throwing that in the cart as well. Also, it is difficult with children shopping
because sometimes they can be combative. If a child does not get what they want then they will most
of the time throw themselves down and have a tantrum. It makes the parents look so bad, as well as
the child who is acting out. It is not good to be combative because then someone may get hurt. After
all, children shoppers do not care how much anything cost. They will just pick any and everything up

Informative Speech On Thanksgiving
Anyone can eat soul food on any particular day of the year. However, it is something distinctive about
preparing and eating soul food on Thanksgiving Day. Soul food is considered to be fried chicken,
macaroni and cheese, collard greens, breaded fried okra and yams. The preparation and consumption
of soul food have been a staple in my family s tradition for many generations. Perchance the food
tastes better because of the cool crisp air, or maybe it s the Macy s Thanksgiving Day parade. I
honestly don t know why, but I feel like this should be a paten scientific theory. Everything just feels
right on this day, as if the world halts for a split second and it is at harmony. Possibly that is why the
food is cooked to perfection. Even the process of preparing the meal is practically better than eating
the food.

Snow White By The Brothers Grimm
Snow White The story of Snow White is a cautionary tale that has been written by many. Each time it
has been told, the authors had a different interpretation of how it should be. The two variations that I
will be focusing on are The Brothers Grimm s story and Walt Disney s film. Although the fairytales
are written and filmed by different authors, they share a common theme and two symbols. The theme
that is present in both Grimm s and Disney s versions is that evil will always be punished. The
symbols that are in both tales include the concept of beauty and the red poisonous apple. The Brothers
Grimm wrote a few versions of Snow White, but the one I will be referring to be Snow White. I will
be comparing this story to the film of Walt Disney titled Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. These
two variations have a great deal in common including being about Snow White, but they both tell her
story a bit differently. I will point out a few of these differences. In Grimm s version, the Queen visits
the dwarf s house three times. Each time she comes, she leaves with Snow to be looking presumably
dead. The Queen harms her first with a tightly laced corset; second with a poisonous comb she
brushes her hair with and last with a red piece of a poisonous apple. In Disney s film, a red apple
poisons Snow once in the attempt by the evil Queen to take her life. In the Grimm s Snow White, the
kiss of the Prince does not awaken her like in Disney s film, but instead the Prince s men drop her

Honor In The Tragedy Of Julius Caesar By William Shakespeare
Honor is a quality defined as means of being true to a set of personal ideals, or being a man of high
integrity and respect. This is certainly subjective and can vary greatly depending on the interpretation.
This concept is explored in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. While some may
argue that Marcus Junius Brutus is dishonorable, in reality Brutus is honorable because he kills
himself more willingly than he kills Julius Caesar, and he kills Caesar for the good of Rome.
To begin, Brutus kills himself more willingly than he kills Caesar because he truly does love Caesar
and does not want to kill him, but he wants what is best for Rome. Brutus says, Farewell, good Strato.
Caesar now be still. I killed thee with half so good a will (V.v. 50 1). In other words, Brutus kills
himself half as willingly as he kills Caesar. Therefore, this shows that Brutus is extremely honorable
as even though he murders Caesar with the conspirators for the benefit of Rome, he still has regrets
about this decision as he has respect and love for Caesar, but Brutus is more sure of killing himself
then he is about killing a person he thinks is an ambitious character. Secondly, Brutus, in a noble
fashion politely says farewell to all of his friends before he surely kills himself. Shakespeare writes,
Farewell to you; and you; and you, Volumnius. Strato, thou hast been all this while asleep. Farewell to
these too, strato. Countrymen, my heart doth joy that yet all in my life I found

they are always innovating their products and they are the leaders of the automobile industry today,
tomorrow and in the future. On their homepage, the company points to their many achievements over
the century since their conception. More specifically the many firsts they have been pioneers in. For
example, the first motor car was made by Carl Benz, the founder, which forever changed the way
people moved and how that car sparked the legacy of innovation. By utilizing their history, Mercedes
set themselves apart from other automobile makers as always remaining the first. Continuing forward
with their first theme, on their website they also mention how Bertha Benz, Carl s wife, was the first
female driver in history as

Armed Conflicts In Mexico
In past years, Latin American countries have been arduously fighting against gangs and drugs, which
are the main cause of armed conflicts. Mexico s increasing rates of death are mostly centered in the
big cities, where drug trafficking and consumption just keep growing. 15,000 people were killed in
fights last year, according a survey studying armed conflicts directed by the London based Institute for
Strategic Study in 2015. Many victims affected were girls and women. Current President Enrique
Peña Nieto, elected since 2012, promised fighting and trying to completely abolish violence in relation
to drug wars and trafficking. It is a very tough war taking into consideration that, Mexico takes third

Altruism is defined when people express their feelings and actions to help others in an unselfish way.
Altruism is an important feature of spiritual wellness, which improves health and longevity. The five
health benefits associated with practicing altruism are 1. Better immune system functioning the
positive feelings reduce the stress, which leads to a healthier immune system that can better fight other
diseases. 2. Pain relief when a person is feeling positive the brain releasing endorphins that help to
reduce pain. 3. Self esteem positive changes that associated with happiness improves self confidence.

Plant Femme Research Paper
Plants have different leaf sizes, colors, and shapes to adapt to the conditions of different environments,
such as the arid zone, the tropical zone, and the arid zone. The arid zone has hot, dry summers and
cool, wet winters, with low, scattered rainfall patterns that occur both seasonally and annually, and
also long periods of time without water. Rainfall varies from year to year, and the distribution of
rainfall varies between the summers and winters. During the cool, dry season, the temperature ranges
from 35 45°C during the day and 10 15°C during the night; during the hot, dry season, the temperature

the soil is nutrient poor, thin, and acidic, while the soil in southern temperate areas is rich in organic
and inorganic nutrients as decomposition rates are lower in the temperate zone than the tropical zone,
and a thick layer of leaf litter accumulates. Sufficient moisture in the temperate zone supports the
growth of large trees, but the trees in the temperate zone are not as tall and diverse as the trees in the
tropical zone. Northern temperate areas contain coniferous trees that are evergreen, with an average
height of 70 meters; southern temperate areas contain deciduous trees, with an average height of 18

Sean White and Snowboarding
Throughout time, the progression and evolution of snowboarding has increased greatly. It has gone
from non existence in the late 1970 s, to one of the most watched action sports in a matter of thirty
five years. The upward takeoff and popularity of snowboarding relies on two people, Jake Burton and
Shaun White. Jake Burton back in 1977 had the vision for what snowboarding would be, but Shaun
White had what it took to manifest that vision. Evidence has shown that time brings change in sports,
history has repeated itself with snowboarding, this history reflects the time changes that has occurred
in America.

Medical Model Research Paper
To start, addiction is defined as the ongoing use of mood altering substances, such as alcohol and
drugs, despite adverse consequences (Morse Flavin, 1997). From the year zero, addiction has been a
rising crisis all over the world. As long as addiction as been around so have the ideas of whether or not
addiction is a choice or a disease. In this paper, I will discuss the medical model which provides
supporting information as to how it is possible that addiction is in fact a mental illness. I will also
discuss the opposing view stating that addiction is a choice and that addicts are not sick . The medical
model argues that The disease of chemical dependency can be traced to neural pathways in the brain
predating a diagnosis of addiction (Angres, 2001). The opposing view argues that the free willed first
decision to first try the drug is the foundation for the stigma that addiction is a choice. Because of the

One theory that describes are the sociological theories. This tells us that deviant behaviors, such as
crime and illegal drug use, are learned within a social context (differential association) in which
groups define the behaviors as good. Drugs use and its pleasurable effects are learned from
subcultures with which the individual becomes afflicted. Many people are taught to use and abuse.
There is a drastic increase in the likelihood of abuse if they grow in a specific social class. This is best
explained by the social learning theory which tells us that we learn from what we observe. If we see
people committing crimes, abusing drugs they will likely follow suit. Social conditions play an
important role in the etiology of addiction. Like the broken windows theory, the will to use or commit

Introduction
Any business organization s goal is to improve its operational performance. Through the employment
of various types of performance measures, firms can assess the efficiency and effectiveness of their
business process objectives. Furthermore, performance measurement tools can help businesses in
evaluating their resource allocation processes in order to determine how resources can be better

The BSC takes forethought. It is not a tool you can just think up one night to solve a problem. Instead,
it is recommended that you hold a meeting to plan out what goals you would like to see your company
reach in each of the four above areas. Once you have clearly stated objectives, you can then begin to
break down these objectives in what you will need, financially, to bring these objectives to fruition. 2.
While the BSC gives you an overall view of the four areas for concern in business growth and
development, these four areas do not paint the whole picture. The financial information included on
the scorecard is limited. Instead, to be successfully implemented, the balanced scorecard must be part
of a bigger strategy for company growth that includes meticulous accounting methods. 3. Many
companies use metrics that are not applicable to their own situation. It is vitally important when using
balanced scorecards to make the information being tracked applicable to your needs. Otherwise, the
metrics will be meaningless. 4.

Bigger Longer And Uncut Censorship
TITLE

INSTITUTION South Park: Bigger, Longer Uncut is a 1999 American adult animated comedy film
based on the animated television series South Park. The film is mostly deals with issues surrounding
censorship and freedom of speech. In the film, the main characters who are four boys from a small
town in Colorado go to a theatre to see a controversial R rated movie featuring Canadians Terrance

. The underlying theme of the film, however, is that it is the responsibility of parents and guardians to
protect their children from what they deem inappropriate, and that censorship of anything (particularly
in movies and TV) is simply a parental tool for escaping blame. In the climax of the film the parents
sing a song whose words are meant to blame Canada before anyone blames the parents for their poor
parenting skills. It is also seen that a couple abandons their baby in the enthusiasm to join the other
parents in singing.
Much of the film s satire and many of the songs depict how people refuse to accept responsibility and
the tendency to look for someone else to blame .It should be noted in the film movies, government,
society, foreigners, and Satan are all blamed leading Kyle to remark: whenever I get in trouble, you go
off and blame everybody else. But I m the one to blame. Deal with me.

produced. The movie s excessive use of profanity also gained it a place in the Guinness Book of

Obergefell V. Hodges Case Study
Introduction:
The United States is considered a great nation by some. It is a nation filled with monumental success,
wealth, prosperity, opportunity, and in general, one of the most impressive nations in the world. But,
the United States is also filled with hate, discrimination, disparity, and a history riddled with grotesque
treatment of those of a varying nature known today as minorities. A minority, is a culturally, ethnically,
or racially distinct group that coexists with but is subordinate to a more dominant group. In the United
States, there are a wide array of minorities like African American, LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and
Transgender), and Women of any race or ethnicity. Although, this a small few of the minority
members in the United States, these groups have faced very large troubles from the majority, which is
classified as upper class, white males. African Americans were made slaves, women couldn t vote,
LGBT couldn t marry one another in the early years of this nation. With the changing times more and
more advances in the equal treatment of minorities come to pass. Of all the groups mentioned, the one
that has made a more recent stride is the LGTB community, which recently has recently obtained the
right to marry in every state thanks to the Obergefell v. Hodges case.
Historical Timeline:
The decision in the Obergefell v. Hodges case is a monumental victory considering the poor treatment
of the members of this minority. Historically, the LGTB community has

Application Of Low Power Integrated Intelligent Sensors
2 Research Motivation and Significance Applications of low power integrated intelligent sensors [1 8]
have been prolific in recent years, including, for instance, in environmental observation [9 11],
security surveillance [12, 13], infrastructure monitoring and communication [14 17], and biomedical
health care monitoring [18 21]. In particular, as the baby boomers approach retirement age, medical
expenses become significant. For example, in 2014, health care accounted for 28% of US federal
spending [22]. One major problem with current health care systems is that sensing and processing
medical data require significant resources. To alleviate this problem, wearable medical devices [23 27]
are expected to provide automatic monitoring and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The design challenges of the aforementioned intelligent sensors originate from their high density
circuits, especially DSP circuits performing multiply and accumulate (MAC), i.e., adders and
coefficient multipliers (DSP algorithms usually involve many MAC operations), which require a large
circuit area and high power consumption. This is one of the most critical problems in integrated
intelligent sensor design. For example, in [34] a seizure detector consumed more than 50% of the
circuit area and power in a System on a Chip (SOC), even though an advanced lookup table (LUT)
method was applied, which saved more than 50% of the total gate count in the digital filters [35]. The
power cost of the chip may require battery replacement every six hours, which is not convenient or
feasible for many patients. Essentially, the large circuit area and high power consumption of MAC
circuits limit system performance and raise chip costs. Medical applications generally require higher
resolution and higher reliability, which only exacerbates the problem. One promising solution to the
above challenges is Delta Sigma technology. A Delta Sigma Modulator (DSM) converts an analog
input signal to a 1 bit Delta Sigma modulated digital bit stream, as shown in Fig. 2 (a). Compared with
conventional multi bit binary systems, the Delta Sigma system has several advantages: (1) a Delta
Sigma bit stream can

Robert Altman s Film Adaptation of Raymond Carver s Short...
Robert Altman s Film Adaptation of Raymond Carver s Short Cuts
The characters in Robert Altman s film adaptation of the Raymond Carver anthology Short Cuts think
they re islands entire of themselves. They suspect their lives and their worlds of isolation, alienation,
separation, in multiple senses of the words. They fail to see, or perhaps purposely ignore, connections
between themselves and those around them, between their actions and the ramifications of those
actions. And while a typical director of a slice of life work might be content to show all these people
in their ignorance of connections, what makes Altman s final product so marvelous is the way he toys
with them, and the comments he makes about them.
The obvious route ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But mostly it shows in the acting, in the narrative. The scene in which Gordon and Honey get each
other s sets of photographs back from the developer is one of the most noticeable examples of this: the
characters stories are thoroughly independent of each other, and they might never have interacted if
not for this scene. One of its main purposes is simply to let us know that all of these people are
existing in the same world, the same town, that in some way, in a city inhabited by hundreds of
thousands of people, the lives of these particular people do intersect. A similar function is served by
the scene in which Jerry comes to clean the Finnigans pool. Here we learn that the Finnigans live next
door to Tess and Zoe, whose pool Jerry will later clean (because of the interaction in this scene), and
both of whom are musicians who will eventually perform for perhaps a quarter to a third of the cast.
Altman s eight track dialogue technique is used effectively here to reinforce the notion that the
characters spatial proximity doesn t prevent them from leading isolated lives.
Another scene which, in my mind, is even better for this purpose is the one in which we first see the
bakery. In this, three storylines converge: Stormy buys a cake for Betty, Ann places an order for Casey
s birthday cake, and Claire stops in on her way to a performance

The Grail As A Symbol Of Divine Grace
The Holy Grail is the mystical cup that Christ used at the last supper and it is believed that it holds
special powers. The Grail was considered to be a bowl or dish when first described by Chrétien de
Troyes (Holy Grail Crystalinks). Hélinand of Froidmont described the Grail as a wide and deep saucer
(O Neal 79). Other authors had their own ideas: Robert de Boron portrayed it as the vessel of the Last
Supper; and Peredur had no Grail per se, presenting the hero instead with a platter containing his
kinsman s bloody, severed head (Holy Grail Crystalinks). In Parzival, Wolfram von Eschenbach, citing
the authority of a certain (probably fictional) Kyot the Provençal, claimed the Grail was a stone that
fell from Heaven, and had been the sanctuary of the Neutral Angels who took neither side during
Lucifer s rebellion. The authors of the Vulgate Cycle used the Grail as a symbol of divine grace.
Galahad, illegitimate son of Lancelot and Elaine, the world s greatest knight and the Grail Bearer at
the castle of Corbenic, is destined to achieve the Grail, his spiritual purity making him a greater
warrior than even his illustrious father. Galahad and the interpretation of the Grail involving him were
picked up in the 15th century by Sir Thomas Malory in Le Morte d Arthur, and remain popular today.
The Grail is first featured in Perceval, le Conte du Graal (The Story of the Grail) by Chrétien de
Troyes, who claims he was working from a source book given to him by his patron,

Reflection About The Taz Prayer
At the Taizé prayer, the place with the altar and candles was inviting; first the silence for about 10
minutes, then the music played, followed by long pauses for praying and reading the scriptures
together. The prayer around the Jesus cross statue in the center was about to begin when a person
placed the cross on the ground and next to the cross a pillow for people to kneel and express their
burdens. After about ten minutes, the prayer around the cross continued, but this time the cross statue
was moved to a table. People freely approached the cross statue at the table and placed their heads on
it or kissed the cross. After a few more prayers were said aloud, then the altogether final prayer
followed by a song was the end of the prayer. From this opportunity of praying in a group, I learned
about the gifts and challenges of prayer while reflecting in silence and listening to the meditative
music.
The Taizé prayer is an opportunity to reflect on your day or your life and pray with others together.
This was my first time in a Taizé prayer, I have never heard about it before this class. The prayer is
centered on a worship group that between silence, songs, prayers, and bible readings, people stand up
to acknowledge the cross statue in the center by kneeling in front or kissing the statue. You are not
alone, you spend the hour with people of different churches or religious beliefs either in silence,
singing, praying and worshipping.
During the prayer, I learned that the peace

Psychosexual Stages And Societal Structure
Psychosexual Stages and Societal Structure
Nathanael D. Evans
Montana State University Billings Abstract
This paper assumes that Sigmund Freud s theory of psychosexual stages in childhood development is
accurate. Given the information we have on Freud s idea of fixations, and their causes, I will explore
how societal structure would need to shift towards an acute focus on childhood in order to eliminate as
much abnormality as possible from the adulthood of all individuals that make up a society. I will also
speculate on ideas for streamlining childhood development, by treating it as an assembly line process.
My points will be highly figurative, as the implementation of the ideas contained herein would not be
possible without removing rights from the populace. However, we must assume, in the spirit of this
exercise, that implementation can occur, and that the theories being examined are accurate in all cases
of abnormality. Psychosexual Stages and Societal Structure
If we are to assume that the earliest experiences of an individual influence their later personality traits,
then it should be assumed that the structure of our society should revolve around a universal set of
guidelines for child rearing, so as to avoid abnormality in the individual in later life. On the larger
scale, if all individuals are raised in identical fashion, societal structure would be uniform. Sigmund
Freud referred to the stages of childhood development as psychosexual stages. Freud believed

What Is Kipling s View On Imperialism
Imperialism
Imperialism is when a country extends its power and influences through diplomacy or military force.
Most imperialism happens when a nation is more industrialized than another and they go to another
country to help them industrialize. Throughout history several authors have expressed their feelings
toward the controversial subject. I will discuss Mark Twain, George Orwell, and Rudyard Kipling s
views on imperialism below by looking into some of their works.
When you first read Shooting an Elephant by George Orwell you may think it is a story to entertain
you. However, the entire piece is a metaphor about Britain imperialism. Orwell s views on
imperialism is quickly identified when he says For at that time I had already made up my mind that
imperialism was an evil thing. (Shooting an Elephant George Orwell) As the story progresses the
police officer is given orders to find a ravaging elephant who was destroying the village in Burma and
its people. Once the officer finds the elephant he contemplates shooting it because it looked so
peaceful. In the end the officer succumbs to the peer pressure from the large crowd following him, and

Jameson Whiskey Agency Brief Essay
TBWA Chiat Day Agency Briefing on Jameson Advertising Campaign
Table of Contents
Overview Jameson is currently the world s favorite Irish whiskey. It is the world s most recognizable
Irish whiskey and is also the best selling by a long shot. Over 30 million bottles of Jameson s whiskey
is sold every year. There are seven main whiskies within the Jameson brand (Straightwhisky, 2013).
Marketing Mix
Product
Jameson whiskey is the main whiskey within the Jameson brand. It is a blend that incorporates the
whiskey from malted barley and unmalted barley. There is pot still whiskey and grain whiskey in the
blend and the aging process uses a combination of sherry casks and bourbon casks. The whiskey is

The dedication to heavy advertising is targeting Jameson s sales to nearly doubling to 3.5m cases by
2OO9 (BeverageBusiness.com, 2006). This is no new concept with the brand: in the mid 199Os the
hoary Spirit of Ireland campaign helped Jameson become the world s fastest growing international
spirit and fastest growing whiskey. Then the What s The Rush? campaign stressed the importance of
people stretching out to enjoy themselves with friends in the face of increasingly frenetic lifestyles
(BeverageBusiness.com, 2006). Jameson grew more than 2O% in the US in 2OO5, with sales in travel
retail up 16%. South Africa grew by 4O%; Russia s sales doubled, as it did in 2O+ principal markets
worldwide (led by Ireland, USA, UK, France, and Spain). Last year, the company put 4O million euro
(US $5O.8 million) behind Jameson, launching the ongoing Beyond the Obvious campaign
(BeverageBusiness.com, 2006). The positioning statement I think would be For young hard working
real men who enjoy a fine whiskey Jameson Irish Whiskey is the beverage of choice. Advertising
objective is to build the brand year around, and not just on St. Patrick s Day (BeverageBusiness.com,
2006.) The three main objectives are to build brand awareness, at 3O% awareness it s still a discovery
brand; strengthen brand positioning; and create consumer brand relationship (BeverageBusiness.com,
2006).

The Impact Of Securitization Techniques On Commercial...
The most influential person in my life, my dad, always tells me how in order for me to be able to live
the American dream, I have to work like there is somebody trying twenty four hours a day to take it all
away from me. He also mentions that a college degree is crucial to the American dream, and is worth
all the financial sacrifices for the reason that it will open all doors to a world of opportunities. Armed
with this bit of philosophy, I graduated with a cum laude from Pace University in Quantitative
Business Analysis, minor in Mathematics and achieved a major GPA that placed me in the top of my
class. In order for myself to become the expert that others rely upon and achieve my careers goals, I
must continue my studies.
My job placement at Barclay`s since august of 2015 had fortified my interest in the areas of finance as
I am able to experience the impact of securitization techniques in Commercial Mortgages Backed
Securities (CMBS). My main role is to monitor the process of taking a group of assets, and through
mathematics and finance, transforming them into a security. I want to further diversify my business
skills set beyond securitized products, then help me grow a deeper understanding of corporate finance,
financial reporting, fix income, all valuable skills and techniques that will help me attain my short
term goal and prepare me for my long term objective.
I am very excited to be considered to the MBA in Financial Management program because it will
allow me to

Spam Speech
It s 11 PM, and I ve yet to even start my little blog fot today. Yesterday I remember thinking that I was
gonna be writing a fun post today about my opinions on Spam and why despite it s feces like taste that
it s amazing, and then this morning I said noooo lets write about something more inspiring, lets write
about why you shouldn t always listen to books! But then my day today ended up being anything but
inspiring, nothing at all got done because I was just feeling like such shit that the only things going
through my mind were how horrible I am and killing myself. I was very much depressed today and
you know what, I think that s almost ironically a good subject to blog about.

In my case today I got lost in this weird idea that I deserve to die because anyone else in this situation
today would actually be doing things but here I am being a dope fuck me I want a bullet between my
brain. It s stupid, but I know so many other people who have gone through similar shit. It s so strange
that the human mind loves to latch on to these temporary things like a bad grade, getting fired, or
whatever shitty temporary thing might happen and make it seem as if it s going to be this way for the
next however many years, but you know what it does... and it sucks.
Now most the time when I feel shitty like this, it usually does just end with me realizing I m being
stupid and getting back to work... but there have been times where I ve completely lost it. One such
example was about a year ago, I was planning to let my head get crushed by a train after I fucked up
my relationship with my girlfriend. Thankfully, I didn t go through but I did end up spending time in a
psych ward. It was actually kind of interesting in there, as I remember one of the nurses actually
coming and saying Alright kid, you re too young to be in here. What s going on?
I told her exactly what was happening, I told her about the girl i was dating, how she was the love of
my life and more sorts of typical sad desperate loser nonsense you d expect from a loser who deserved
to get dumped. I m glad I talked with her as it really gave me a proper understanding of my whole
situation and

Argumentative Essay On Knights
Knights are often said to fight dragons or save princesses or break curses, but there is so much more to
being a knight. Knights deserve to be higher in the social class because of all the work they do. They
have difficult and extended training. They have a complex and astonishing lifestyle. They have
essential and crucial duties to do. They impact the world and influence the world today. Medieval life
was complex and different for Knights. Religious Knights had a challenging and difficult lifestyle.
The Knights Hospitaller is a difficult job, but an important one. The Knights of the Round Table were
a group of Knights, who traits the world needs today. Knights should be above Nobles.
These Knights were found in Europe during the Middle Ages. The Middle Ages lasted from the 476
CE to 14th century, the beginning of the Renaissance. The Knights in the Middle Ages served the king
and fought for the kingdom. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Knights passed down the art of chivalry, avoiding lying or cheating or torture, justice for all,
respecting women, and avenging wrongs. The nobles of the Middle Ages were fierce and proud
people. They looked down on the poor laboring peasants who lived on their estates as hardly better
than cattle. Not all of them indeed were cruel or wicked, but they believed that their gentle blood
made them far superior to other people. ( Lynn Waterman, 2001, The Nobles of the Middle Ages)
Knights have also created the stirrup. The stirrup allowed Knights to use retreats as a weapon. The
stirrup was a cost benefit breakthrough. The stirrup allowed for easier fighting for the cavalry. The
Knights fought in the Crusades. The earliest military orders originated in Jerusalem during the First
Crusade. The Crusades played a major role in European territorial expansion. The Crusades impacted
internal European development. The movement helped to militarize the medieval western Church. The

Summary Of The Scripture Way Of Salvation By John Wesley
John Wesley argued Christian perfection throughout his ministry. His quest was holy living. Wesley
was focused with the life of holiness than with the philosophy concerning holiness and he was
engrossed in the experience than in its principles. When Wesley talked about development in holiness,
and the fundamental goal of being entire sanctification, he was fixed that sanctification and
justification is by faith. In his preaching, The Scripture Way of Salvation , Wesley expounded the faith
by which Christians are perfected is because God is able, he promised in Scripture, he is willing, and
he really does it 1) God has foretold this in Scripture. 2) What God promises, God is able to do. 3)
God is capable and willing to manage it right away. 4) God actually answers this. Wesley concluded
the sermon by exhorting his audience expect it by faith, expect it as you are, and expect it now!
He communicates justification is by grace through faith as a qualified change in a person s conversion.
Besides, he accentuates the real change that takes place in a person s heart and life as a soul become
new creatures in Christ. I will make you a raw heart and place a young spirit in you; I will take away
from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 336:26 NIV) Salvation is not a
static act of God is showing towards the past; Wesley understands salvation as a revitalizing
procedure. It begins with justification and new birth and stays as the Christian matures in

The Charge of the Light Brigade by Tennyson Essay
The Charge of the Light Brigade by Tennyson The charge of the light brigade by Tennyson was
written about a disastrous military escapade during the Crimean war.
The Crimean war was fought between Russia on one hand and Britain, France and Turkey on the
other. The charge of the light brigade occurred in November 1854 at Balaclava in the Crimea. The Earl
of Cardigan led the charge, and some six hundred cavalrymen took part in it. The brave 600 rode
straight down a valley that was fortified at its end by many cannon served by Russian and Cossack
gunners. The heroes were following confused orders from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The emphasis is not on the individual, but rather on the brigade as a whole, and their collective
heroism and sacrifice for their country.
Direct speech is used Forward the Light Brigade! Charge for the guns! To create a sense of
immediacy, to allow you to picture what was actually happening. Exclamatory statements are used to
put emphasis on the ideas of excitement and their collective power.
The instructions given seem incredibly stupid, Charge for the guns! He said; Because it is obvious to
the reader that there is no way that a brigade of horseback soldiers will be able to compete when faced
with cannons. These instructions seem completely irrational, with the results only able to be horrific
losses to the Light Brigade. The semi colon at the end of the line is there to allow the reader a pause to
take in this shocking instruction.
Verse two begins by repeating the instruction to go forth into the valley. It is followed by the rhetorical
question Was there a man dismay d?
The command is described only as a blunder , as though it isn t that big a mistake. Tennyson doesn t
use a very explicit word in his criticism, very possibly because as poet laureate it was part of his job to
show the establishment in the best possible light, irrelevant to the situation.
Unquestioning loyalty to

The Parable Of The Good Samaritan, By Harper Lee
In The Parable of the Good Samaritan , the priest and the Levite fails to act in the name of God, while
the Samaritan does by treating the robbed man s wounds and sending him to an inn. At the beginning
of To Kill A Mockingbird, Scout Finch acts as the priest or the Levite than the Good Samaritan. When
Walter Cunningham is invited for dinner at the Finch s house, Scout behaves in a discourteous manner
towards Walter and claims that he ain t company... He s just a Cunningham, (Lee 25). This quote
shows how Scout lacks in understanding the discrepancies within people while she should be
regarding everyone as her neighbour like the Good Samaritan. The quote also reveals that Scout s
attitudes are rooted from her biased views towards the Cunningham s.

Falk s fourth grade classroom we are learning about insects, their life span and how they survive in the
environment. To promote and more hands on approach and experience from science experts our class
would like to Visit the Ithaca Sciencenter. During the field trip, students will have the opportunity to
do hands on experiments, and create a discovery boxes. Students will also be able to participate in the
exhibit: Attack of the Bloodsuckers! This exhibit includes: learn about the science behind bug bites.
This includes mosquitos, fleas, ticks, leeches, and other parasites. The first activity was to solve a
puzzle using the eyes of a mosquito, next students would match bug mouths to the type of food each
insect eats. Then students match magnified and unmagnified images of blood sucker. Finally, students
find different scents in a way a bloodsucker would. By getting a chance to go to the Sciencenter
students will meet the following Elementary Science Core Curriculum: Standard 1: Analysis, Inquiry,
and Design, standard 2: Information Systems, standard 6: Models. The cost of the field trip would be
free; however, I must email Josh Giblin as it takes a few weeks to process a field trip request. For any
additional information, I will provide the link to the Sciencenter website.

Matthew And John Comparison
Honors 151 Exam 2 The gospels are meant to serve as a recollection of Jesus life and ministry.
Although they are placed together at the beginning of the New Testament, the gospels of Mark,
Matthew, Luke, and John differ from one another. Matthew and Luke begin with the accounts of Jesus
conception and birth, while Mark and John introduce us to an older Jesus prophesized by John the
Baptist. There is also a major difference between the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke versus that
of John. For the former three, it is hypothesized that Mark was the first gospel to be written, and that
Matthew and Luke wrote their accounts with the gospel of Mark and a lost document, referred to as Q,
as sources (Oxford Christian Dictionary, 2005). This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main difference would be the setting of each discourse. The Sermon on the Mount was conducted
on top a hill that overlooked a huge crowd that had gathered to listen to Jesus (Mt 5:1 2). Compared to
the more private setting of the Last Supper, in which Jesus is gathered around a table with his
disciples, the Sermon on the Mount renders a public account of Jesus. As a public figure, Jesus
accommodated his teachings that day to refer to the human condition and the law. He gives the crowd
a disclaimer at the very beginning when he mentions that he has not come to abolish the law, but to
fulfill it (Mt 5:17). He then goes on to advise the crowd on how to handle anger, adultery, divorce,
oaths, retaliation, and enemies. In doing so, he relates each subject back to the law and explains a new
point for each and how it fulfills God s overall commandment. An example of this is when he
mentions how the law says that you are to love your neighbor and hate your enemy, but God
commands that you pray for your prosecutors and love those who hate you (Mt 5:43 45). This further
reinforces the point that the kingdom that Jesus preaches of is not achieved by following the world s
rules, but only those of God. This example also correlates back to the passage in which Jesus washes
the disciples feet. He lowers himself to the position of a servant in order to teach them a lesson of
humility and

  • 2. Augusto Pinochet Research Paper The 1950 1960s brought about the spread of worldwide marxism, while simultaneously prompting extremist anti communist practices, particularly in the United States. Though the Cold War centered around the northern hemisphere, South America was not immune to the marxist ideology and political atmosphere. However, until the late 1960 s Chile remained comparatively stable to neighboring countries. Nevertheless, the election of Socialist Salvador Allende Gossens in 1970 brought severe political unrest. The first election of an openly marxist leader alarmed many Americans and weakened ties between the two countries. Allende s policies to limit inflation by freezing prices and raising income backfired and succeeded only in angering the U.S. as Chilean ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1990, he resigned as head of state but remained commander in chief of Chile s military. Pinochet relinquished the title of commander in chief and was resorted to the position of Senator for life in 1998. In October of the same year, he was arrested in London by the request of Spain. The remainder of Pinochet s life was wrought with legal affairs and his medical decline. Despite his disputed legal position, Pinochet remained senator of Chile until he resigned in 2002 due to the state of his health. He faced several accusations of murder and violating human rights, yet was deemed unfit for trial multiple times. However, Pinochet was placed under house arrest five times, the last just after his ninety first birthday. Augusto Pinochet died in December of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Radiohead Research Paper Exactly six months to the day before Donald Trump was elected president of the United States, Radiohead released their eerily prescient and hypnotic ninth album, A Moon Shaped Pool, to great fanfare. Nothing could have foretold the future more than the lyrics to the opening song, Burn the Witch : Abandon all reason / avoid all eye contact / this is a low flying panic attack. Backed by a repetitive and sawing string arrangement and an equally disturbing music video, it s one of the most overtly political songs Radiohead has ever done, as well as one of their all time best. The following track, Daydreaming is nearly as good, with vocal loops and mournful piano reminiscent of Radiohead s very best work from 2000 s Kid A. The final minute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each song transitions smoothly into the next one, with a prime example being the smooth transition from the Decks Dark, a guitar driven, hooky number reminiscent of the band s OK Computer era down to its extraterrestrial subject matter, to Desert Island Disc, a low key, Nick Drake esque acoustic ballad. The songs all deal with the same underlying themes of heartbreak and, especially, a deep rooted paranoia, a common subject matter in Radiohead songs. Although Radiohead were once pegged as the preeminent doomsayers (Greene) of a generation, their characteristic paranoia is more understandable now than ever ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Women s Model Of Care There not just apart of the furniture, they are apart of the community (Fire films, 2014, June 26). Arcare in Australia recently changed their model of care to patient centered; with a successful transition they are better able to support the elderly and staff at the care home and have provided the elderly with a greater quality of life. Traditionally leisure based programs such as the leisure ability model, have been implemented and focus on the client and assisting with independence and appropriate leisure functioning, with 3 main ideas, education, participation and treatment (Stumbo Peterson, 1998, p. 82 83). The leisure ability model is used all around the world and focuses on an individuals internal locus (Stumbo Peterson, 1998, p. 82). As the quality manager, this model, I believe is no longer relevant in current society. A move to the patient centered model would ensure relationships are the focus, where all clients live in a supportive and encouraging community (Fire films, 2014, June 26). The change to the patient centered model would ensure clients, staff, volunteers and families are included and able to form loving and caring relationships. (Fire films, 2014, June 26). By exploring the negatives and benefits of change in regards to clients and staff and also how the change would be implemented, a better understanding of the patient cantered model can be established. The patient centered model does not just view an individual as elderly but treats them as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Beliefs of the Anti-Federalists Essay The name, Anti Federalists is not the best suited name for what they truly are, or what they believe in. They are called the Anti Federalists, but it should be made clear at once that they were not Anti Federal at all. (Main xi) Originally, the word federalist, meant anyone who supported the Articles of Confederation. The term Anti Federalist was placed on them to portray them as people who did not agree with the Federal Government, which was exactly opposite of what they are. According to the proper definition, the Anti Federalists were really more Federal than the so called Federalists. Many Anti Federalists felt this way because they took their bearings from the principles of federalism laid down in the Articles. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They thought that the national government would soon dominate the state governments. The Federalists started calling the groups of people who disagreed with them the Anti Federalists. The Federalists felt that what they were trying to do what was best for the country and government, therefore being more federal . Not only were they calling their enemies Anti Federalists just because they did not agree with them, but they also had a reason behind it. The Federalists idea was the use of the term was the way some great men had to deceive the common people, and prevent their knowing what they were about. (Main xiii) This idea states that the term anti puts on an image that they are not for the federal government. The Federalists were trying to convince the people that the Anti Federalists were not fighting for, but against the country and government. In the Boston American Herald of December 10, 1787 there was a phrase that became helpful to the people: A FEDERALIST is a Friend to a Federal Government An ANTI FEDERALIST is an Enemy to a Confederation. Therefore, the FRIENDS to the New Plan of CONSOLIDATION, are Anti Federal, and its Opposers are firm Federal Patriots. (Main xii) This newspaper was trying to show to the common people (Main xiii) what the Anti Federalists believed in. • 7. Family Should Be Best Friends I have always been told that the siblings or sibling in a family should be best friends. As I was growing up with an older brother, things were not always like that in my house. It was hard for me to see my friends hanging out and going to lunch with their older siblings because I never had that relationship with my older brother, Zack. Zack was different. He had a lot going on with his life so when he wouldn t talk to me or blow me off, I would just shake it off and pretend that eventually he would become that fun, older brother we all see in movies. Then I finally realized, nothing would change. I was devastated to never have that relationship with my brother because I didn t understand why he never wanted to be with me. What have I done wrong? Am I really that annoying as a little sister? That was until my mother informed on what was going on with Zack. He had severe social and anger issues which caused him to be jealous of me because of all my friends that I had, leading him to be mean and angry with me all the time because of his anger issues. I felt awful for my poor big brother. He doesn t deserve this, I would think to myself at night. These thoughts and feelings went on until the summer of 2015, when everything changed. In the period of time from when I pretended like nothing was wrong with my brother to when I found out, I focused a lot on my friends. I made so many close friends who I considered to be siblings more than Zack. It was like I had 15 unrelated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They would call it JET Copies, named for James, Ernie, and Terri. Their first step was to purchase a copier. They bought one like the one used in the college of business office at State for $ 18,000. (Terri s parents provided a loan.) The company that sold them the copier touted the copier s reliability, but after they bought it, Ernie talked with someone in the dean s office at State, who told him that the University s copier broke down frequently and when it did, it often took between 1 and 4 days to get it repaired. When Ernie told this to Terri and James, they became worried. If the copier broke down frequently and was not in use for long periods while they waited for a repair person to come fix it, they could lose a lot of revenue. • 10. Glyphosate Essay n regard to exposure to glyphosate and chemicals used in GMO products, the World Health Organization conducted a study to analyze crops treated with this particular chemical. The Organization concluded that glyphosate cannot be washed out of crops. Glyphosate cannot be removed from a crop even through cooking and cleaning methods. (Organic Consumer s Association) In addition, the Organization found a correlation that the more GMO RoundUp herbicide is sprayed on crop fields, the more residue that builds up over time. This leads to increased exposure to operators handling the herbicide, especially when they neglect to wear protective gear while spraying crops. (Organic Consumer s Association) This is why opponents want Non GMO products. Since the organization has claimed that glyphosate cannot be washed or cooked out of the crop, this is a good reason why the public is demanding Non GMO foods. Therefore, the consumer believes that it can be dangerous to consume these foods. Local farmers organic crops can suffer from exposure to GMO seeds due to environmental elements such as wind that can transpose seeds, which ruins the natural element within the organic crop. Aside from this occurrence, when GMO seeds become too resistant to herbicides such as RoundUp Ready, an increase use of pesticides is needed to prevent insects from contaminating the product. • 11. Van Gogh Depression And Depression Van Gogh and Depression I am so angry with myself because I cannot do what I should like to do, and at such a moment one feels as if one were lying bound hand and foot at the bottom of a deep dark well, utterly hopeless, said Vincent Van Gogh in a letter to his brother (Popova). This is how some people who suffer from depression feel on a day to day basis, but not every case is the same. Because people who have depression are all affected in different ways, it is often misunderstood. Depression is not as simple as one may think. It is more than just feeling sad sometimes or having a bad day. Depression, the most common form of mental illness, is actually a brain disorder caused by an imbalance of chemicals in the brain (Hyde and Forsyth 6). There are many causes of depression including stressful life events like the loss of a loved one or physical or mental abuse (Mooney 16 17, 19). Depression can also be hereditary, meaning it is passed down genetically through families (Hyde and Forsyth 21). Numerous types of depression exist, but the three most common ones are major depression, manic depression, and dysthymia (Mooney 9 11). Symptoms of depression vary greatly. If someone starts isolating themselves, losing interest in hobbies, having trouble concentrating, skipping classes, and/or using drugs and alcohol, they may be suffering from depression (Mooney 24 25). Other mental symptoms are frequently feeling sad, empty, hopeless, or worthless; being more restless and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Block Grants Grant writing is a great skill to have, especially if you are planning to have a career in the criminal justice field. What many do not know however is that there are many different types of grants. Each type of grant has its own unique purpose, advantages, and disadvantages. These different kinds of grants include block grants, employment grants, program grants, technology grants, construction grants, and research grants. It is important to educate yourself on these different types of grants so that you can have a better understanding of the skills needed to be a successful grant writer. Frist, we have block grants. A block grant is basically when the federal government gives out large amounts of money to local and state authorities in order to funds things such as public enforcement, law enforcement, or community development. Often times there is a lot of discretion given in regards to how the money is spent, so there is no fine detail when it comes to how the money is going to be used. Two examples of this kind of grant program is the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, also known as welfare, and Low Income Home Energy Assistance Block Grant. Welfare is used to help support low income families and the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Block Grant is assistance to low income families to help pay energy bills. The advantage of block grants is that it is less restrictive, but a disadvantage could be the use of the money ineffectively. Secondly, we have employment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Uses of Hypnotherapy to Treat a Medical Condition Uses of Hypnotherapy to treat a medical condition Introduction The purpose of this essay is to describe and explain the uses of hypnotherapy in the treatment of a medical condition. For this essay I have chosen to look at a chronic life limiting illness called Motor Neurone Disease. This is a disease that can affect many different aspects of a person s life and is very aggressive in its symptoms. I have met quite a few people with this condition whilst working in the Neurophysiology department at the QMC, where all the nerve and muscles studies and EMG s are performed. It not only changes the person s life but also the lives of the people around them. I found this research both upsetting and informative. MND is a progressive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Progressive muscular atrophy is a much less common form of MND and tends to progress more slowly than ALS. People with PMA do not experience muscle spasms and they can then go onto develop ALS. Progressive bulbar palsy is a form of MND that mainly affects the muscles in the throat, tongue and face that causes difficulties with speech, swallowing, coughing and clearing the throat. PBP can also affect the expression of emotions and people might laugh or cry for no apparent reason. Primary lateral sclerosis is a very rare form of MND in which people experience spasticity but do not experience muscle wasting or fasciculation s. Unfortunately none of the above can be diagnosed with one specific hospital test and doctors will usually recommend a series of tests and investigations which can take a long time and can cause the person worry and upset thereby causing a knock on effect of depression and anxiety, these tests are very important however to be able to get the correct diagnosis as all the symptoms described can also be the pre cursor to many other illnesses and to be diagnosed with this terrible disease in error would be awful. I think the saddest part of the disease is that although it will affect almost every part of the person s everyday life and will stop them eventually performing the most simple of tasks such as personal hygiene and eating it does not affect the mind or intelligence so ... • 16. Essay about Charles Darwin s Life and Revolutionary Work Charles Darwin by far, revolutionized biology as known to modern society. He is responsible for the theory of evolution that people of today still go by. He was born on February 12, 1809 in England as the fifth child into the family of Dr. Robert and Susannah Darwin. He had three older sisters and one older brother. Because of his father s success as a physician, and his mother coming from the Wedgewood family fortune, the Darwin family was considered well off. Robert Darwin worked many great hours while Susannah stayed home to take care of the children. Unfortunately, when Charles was eight years old his mother passed away from complications of an illness that she had for a year. From that point on, Robert began working much more and ... After graduation, he received a letter from his friend Henslow informing him that he knew of a sailor captain in search of a naturalist and thought Charles was best suited for the job. Though Robert Darwin was hesitant about letting his son go, he eventually caved. The journey that Charles Darwin went on became known as the Voyage of the Beagle. The ultimate goal of the journey was to study and map the coast lines of South America. Charles Darwin had been given the chance to explore a world unknown by Europeans. Not only that, but Charles would be able to do some science as well. From the adventure, Charles Darwin learned many new fascinating things. He saw animals on land that resembled other animals but were adapted to different things. For example, he saw two types of lizards one that was made to live in the water and one that was made to live on land. This sparked his curiosity. According to the book of Genesis, nothing that God has created changes. Everything remains the same, as God had intended. When he found fossils, the same was true. He found things that had resembled animals of his time but were slightly bigger or different in some way or another but they had been extinct. Charles began to believe that the animals were changing despite the fact that his thoughts went against everything he was taught. He took lots of samples of animals and findings back home to England. He was going to need evidence to support his new theory yet it took him nearly twenty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Classifying Different Types of Shoppers In today s world things are a lot different than the way they used to be. People are becoming much more alert and aware of things that are going on around them. Many people do not enjoy doing things that other people enjoy. It can be a win or lose situation. There are some things in life that people have to do whether they want to or not. Throughout many different places many people have to go do this on a daily basis. Lots of men usually do not want to be involved. It is usually left for the women to take over. There are very many types of shoppers that people deal with on a daily basis, they are different in many ways such as, children, young adults, and senior citizens. By all means, shopping can be difficult for children for many reasons. To start, they are very impatient. They do not want to wait for their parents to get done shopping, whatever they want they expect to get it now.. When checking out at the register everything is in their reach. They are then grabbing things and throwing that in the cart as well. Also, it is difficult with children shopping because sometimes they can be combative. If a child does not get what they want then they will most of the time throw themselves down and have a tantrum. It makes the parents look so bad, as well as the child who is acting out. It is not good to be combative because then someone may get hurt. After all, children shoppers do not care how much anything cost. They will just pick any and everything up and place ... Soul food is considered to be fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, breaded fried okra and yams. The preparation and consumption of soul food have been a staple in my family s tradition for many generations. Perchance the food tastes better because of the cool crisp air, or maybe it s the Macy s Thanksgiving Day parade. I honestly don t know why, but I feel like this should be a paten scientific theory. Everything just feels right on this day, as if the world halts for a split second and it is at harmony. Possibly that is why the food is cooked to perfection. Even the process of preparing the meal is practically better than eating the food. II. Body For this food to be touched by the food Gods, we must prep for the feast the day before Thanksgiving. • 19. Snow White By The Brothers Grimm Snow White The story of Snow White is a cautionary tale that has been written by many. Each time it has been told, the authors had a different interpretation of how it should be. The two variations that I will be focusing on are The Brothers Grimm s story and Walt Disney s film. Although the fairytales are written and filmed by different authors, they share a common theme and two symbols. The theme that is present in both Grimm s and Disney s versions is that evil will always be punished. The symbols that are in both tales include the concept of beauty and the red poisonous apple. The Brothers Grimm wrote a few versions of Snow White, but the one I will be referring to be Snow White. I will be comparing this story to the film of Walt Disney titled Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. These two variations have a great deal in common including being about Snow White, but they both tell her story a bit differently. I will point out a few of these differences. In Grimm s version, the Queen visits the dwarf s house three times. Each time she comes, she leaves with Snow to be looking presumably dead. The Queen harms her first with a tightly laced corset; second with a poisonous comb she brushes her hair with and last with a red piece of a poisonous apple. In Disney s film, a red apple poisons Snow once in the attempt by the evil Queen to take her life. In the Grimm s Snow White, the kiss of the Prince does not awaken her like in Disney s film, but instead the Prince s men drop her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Honor In The Tragedy Of Julius Caesar By William Shakespeare Honor is a quality defined as means of being true to a set of personal ideals, or being a man of high integrity and respect. This is certainly subjective and can vary greatly depending on the interpretation. This concept is explored in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. While some may argue that Marcus Junius Brutus is dishonorable, in reality Brutus is honorable because he kills himself more willingly than he kills Julius Caesar, and he kills Caesar for the good of Rome. To begin, Brutus kills himself more willingly than he kills Caesar because he truly does love Caesar and does not want to kill him, but he wants what is best for Rome. Brutus says, Farewell, good Strato. Caesar now be still. I killed thee with half so good a will (V.v. 50 1). In other words, Brutus kills himself half as willingly as he kills Caesar. Therefore, this shows that Brutus is extremely honorable as even though he murders Caesar with the conspirators for the benefit of Rome, he still has regrets about this decision as he has respect and love for Caesar, but Brutus is more sure of killing himself then he is about killing a person he thinks is an ambitious character. Secondly, Brutus, in a noble fashion politely says farewell to all of his friends before he surely kills himself. Shakespeare writes, Farewell to you; and you; and you, Volumnius. Once you have clearly stated objectives, you can then begin to break down these objectives in what you will need, financially, to bring these objectives to fruition. 2. While the BSC gives you an overall view of the four areas for concern in business growth and development, these four areas do not paint the whole picture. The financial information included on the scorecard is limited. Instead, to be successfully implemented, the balanced scorecard must be part of a bigger strategy for company growth that includes meticulous accounting methods. 3. Many companies use metrics that are not applicable to their own situation. It is vitally important when using balanced scorecards to make the information being tracked applicable to your needs. • 31. Obergefell V. Hodges Case Study Introduction: The United States is considered a great nation by some. It is a nation filled with monumental success, wealth, prosperity, opportunity, and in general, one of the most impressive nations in the world. But, the United States is also filled with hate, discrimination, disparity, and a history riddled with grotesque treatment of those of a varying nature known today as minorities. A minority, is a culturally, ethnically, or racially distinct group that coexists with but is subordinate to a more dominant group. In the United States, there are a wide array of minorities like African American, LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender), and Women of any race or ethnicity. Although, this a small few of the minority members in the United States, these groups have faced very large troubles from the majority, which is classified as upper class, white males. African Americans were made slaves, women couldn t vote, LGBT couldn t marry one another in the early years of this nation. With the changing times more and more advances in the equal treatment of minorities come to pass. Of all the groups mentioned, the one that has made a more recent stride is the LGTB community, which recently has recently obtained the right to marry in every state thanks to the Obergefell v. Application Of Low Power Integrated Intelligent Sensors 2 Research Motivation and Significance Applications of low power integrated intelligent sensors [1 8] have been prolific in recent years, including, for instance, in environmental observation [9 11], security surveillance [12, 13], infrastructure monitoring and communication [14 17], and biomedical health care monitoring [18 21]. In particular, as the baby boomers approach retirement age, medical expenses become significant. For example, in 2014, health care accounted for 28% of US federal spending [22]. One major problem with current health care systems is that sensing and processing medical data require significant resources. To alleviate this problem, wearable medical devices [23 27] are expected to provide automatic monitoring and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The design challenges of the aforementioned intelligent sensors originate from their high density circuits, especially DSP circuits performing multiply and accumulate (MAC), i.e., adders and coefficient multipliers (DSP algorithms usually involve many MAC operations), which require a large circuit area and high power consumption. This is one of the most critical problems in integrated intelligent sensor design. For example, in [34] a seizure detector consumed more than 50% of the circuit area and power in a System on a Chip (SOC), even though an advanced lookup table (LUT) method was applied, which saved more than 50% of the total gate count in the digital filters [35]. The power cost of the chip may require battery replacement every six hours, which is not convenient or feasible for many patients. Essentially, the large circuit area and high power consumption of MAC circuits limit system performance and raise chip costs. Medical applications generally require higher resolution and higher reliability, which only exacerbates the problem. One promising solution to the above challenges is Delta Sigma technology. A Delta Sigma Modulator (DSM) converts an analog input signal to a 1 bit Delta Sigma modulated digital bit stream, as shown in Fig. 2 (a). They fail to see, or perhaps purposely ignore, connections between themselves and those around them, between their actions and the ramifications of those actions. The scene in which Gordon and Honey get each other s sets of photographs back from the developer is one of the most noticeable examples of this: the characters stories are thoroughly independent of each other, and they might never have interacted if not for this scene. One of its main purposes is simply to let us know that all of these people are existing in the same world, the same town, that in some way, in a city inhabited by hundreds of thousands of people, the lives of these particular people do intersect. A similar function is served by the scene in which Jerry comes to clean the Finnigans pool. Here we learn that the Finnigans live next door to Tess and Zoe, whose pool Jerry will later clean (because of the interaction in this scene), and both of whom are musicians who will eventually perform for perhaps a quarter to a third of the cast. Altman s eight track dialogue technique is used effectively here to reinforce the notion that the characters spatial proximity doesn t prevent them from leading isolated lives. Complaining is not necessarily a bad technique when needed, it uses a way to get something done. Caroline Rego emphasizes on why we need to know how to complain the right way. She explains that being too passive gives the other person a way to step around the propositions that are being made, while being too aggressive may make the other person feel persuaded that they should not do as asked. • 38. The Grail As A Symbol Of Divine Grace The Holy Grail is the mystical cup that Christ used at the last supper and it is believed that it holds special powers. The Grail was considered to be a bowl or dish when first described by Chrétien de Troyes (Holy Grail Crystalinks). Hélinand of Froidmont described the Grail as a wide and deep saucer (O Neal 79). Other authors had their own ideas: Robert de Boron portrayed it as the vessel of the Last Supper; and Peredur had no Grail per se, presenting the hero instead with a platter containing his kinsman s bloody, severed head (Holy Grail Crystalinks). In Parzival, Wolfram von Eschenbach, citing the authority of a certain (probably fictional) Kyot the Provençal, claimed the Grail was a stone that fell from Heaven, and had been the sanctuary of the Neutral Angels who took neither side during Lucifer s rebellion. The authors of the Vulgate Cycle used the Grail as a symbol of divine grace. Galahad, illegitimate son of Lancelot and Elaine, the world s greatest knight and the Grail Bearer at the castle of Corbenic, is destined to achieve the Grail, his spiritual purity making him a greater warrior than even his illustrious father. Galahad and the interpretation of the Grail involving him were picked up in the 15th century by Sir Thomas Malory in Le Morte d Arthur, and remain popular today. The Grail is first featured in Perceval, le Conte du Graal (The Story of the Grail) by Chrétien de Troyes, who claims he was working from a source book given to him by his patron, ... • 39. Reflection About The Taz Prayer At the Taizé prayer, the place with the altar and candles was inviting; first the silence for about 10 minutes, then the music played, followed by long pauses for praying and reading the scriptures together. The prayer around the Jesus cross statue in the center was about to begin when a person placed the cross on the ground and next to the cross a pillow for people to kneel and express their burdens. After about ten minutes, the prayer around the cross continued, but this time the cross statue was moved to a table. People freely approached the cross statue at the table and placed their heads on it or kissed the cross. After a few more prayers were said aloud, then the altogether final prayer followed by a song was the end of the prayer. From this opportunity of praying in a group, I learned about the gifts and challenges of prayer while reflecting in silence and listening to the meditative music. The Taizé prayer is an opportunity to reflect on your day or your life and pray with others together. This was my first time in a Taizé prayer, I have never heard about it before this class. The prayer is centered on a worship group that between silence, songs, prayers, and bible readings, people stand up to acknowledge the cross statue in the center by kneeling in front or kissing the statue. You are not alone, you spend the hour with people of different churches or religious beliefs either in silence, singing, praying and worshipping. During the prayer, I learned that the peace ... • 40. Psychosexual Stages And Societal Structure Psychosexual Stages and Societal Structure Nathanael D. Evans Montana State University Billings Abstract This paper assumes that Sigmund Freud s theory of psychosexual stages in childhood development is accurate. Given the information we have on Freud s idea of fixations, and their causes, I will explore how societal structure would need to shift towards an acute focus on childhood in order to eliminate as much abnormality as possible from the adulthood of all individuals that make up a society. I will also speculate on ideas for streamlining childhood development, by treating it as an assembly line process. My points will be highly figurative, as the implementation of the ideas contained herein would not be possible without removing rights from the populace. However, we must assume, in the spirit of this exercise, that implementation can occur, and that the theories being examined are accurate in all cases of abnormality. Psychosexual Stages and Societal Structure If we are to assume that the earliest experiences of an individual influence their later personality traits, then it should be assumed that the structure of our society should revolve around a universal set of guidelines for child rearing, so as to avoid abnormality in the individual in later life. On the larger scale, if all individuals are raised in identical fashion, societal structure would be uniform. Sigmund Freud referred to the stages of childhood development as psychosexual stages. Most imperialism happens when a nation is more industrialized than another and they go to another country to help them industrialize. Throughout history several authors have expressed their feelings toward the controversial subject. I will discuss Mark Twain, George Orwell, and Rudyard Kipling s views on imperialism below by looking into some of their works. When you first read Shooting an Elephant by George Orwell you may think it is a story to entertain you. However, the entire piece is a metaphor about Britain imperialism. Orwell s views on imperialism is quickly identified when he says For at that time I had already made up my mind that imperialism was an evil thing. (Shooting an Elephant George Orwell) As the story progresses the police officer is given orders to find a ravaging elephant who was destroying the village in Burma and its people. Wesley was focused with the life of holiness than with the philosophy concerning holiness and he was engrossed in the experience than in its principles. When Wesley talked about development in holiness, and the fundamental goal of being entire sanctification, he was fixed that sanctification and justification is by faith. In his preaching, The Scripture Way of Salvation , Wesley expounded the faith by which Christians are perfected is because God is able, he promised in Scripture, he is willing, and he really does it 1) God has foretold this in Scripture. 2) What God promises, God is able to do. 3) God is capable and willing to manage it right away. 4) God actually answers this. Wesley concluded the sermon by exhorting his audience expect it by faith, expect it as you are, and expect it now! He communicates justification is by grace through faith as a qualified change in a person s conversion. Although they are placed together at the beginning of the New Testament, the gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John differ from one another. Matthew and Luke begin with the accounts of Jesus conception and birth, while Mark and John introduce us to an older Jesus prophesized by John the Baptist. There is also a major difference between the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke versus that of John. The Sermon on the Mount was conducted on top a hill that overlooked a huge crowd that had gathered to listen to Jesus (Mt 5:1 2). Compared to the more private setting of the Last Supper, in which Jesus is gathered around a table with his disciples, the Sermon on the Mount renders a public account of Jesus. As a public figure, Jesus accommodated his teachings that day to refer to the human condition and the law. He gives the crowd a disclaimer at the very beginning when he mentions that he has not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it (Mt 5:17). He then goes on to advise the crowd on how to handle anger, adultery, divorce, oaths, retaliation, and enemies. In doing so, he relates each subject back to the law and explains a new point for each and how it fulfills God s overall commandment. An example of this is when he mentions how the law says that you are to love your neighbor and hate your enemy, but God commands that you pray for your prosecutors and love those who hate you (Mt 5:43 45). This further reinforces the point that the kingdom that Jesus preaches of is not achieved by following the world s rules, but only those of God.
