The Violence Of A Multi Ethnic Society
Samuel Huntington famously stated that the fiercest clashes have become battles between
civilizations, according to him these clashes are neither ideological or economic, but rather cultural.
Huntington couldn t have been more mistaken. In reality, the modern world has become plagued with
an increasing presence of intra state wars as modern conflict has become synonymous with clashes
between individuals, groups, and communities that differ very little . Freud attempted to explain this
perplexing occurrence as a narcissism of minor differences by stating that group solidarity requires the
existence of an Other , a minority, which through its suppression validates the identity of the majority.
According to this logic, all communities despite their homogeneity must seek a minority within
themselves in order to validate their existence. Bosnia s cosmopolitanism prior to the Yugoslavian War
provides us with a vivid example that this narcissism is a superficial explanation as to why fraternal
conflict occurs. Prior to the war, Bosnia was not only the most ethnically integrated Yugoslavian
republic, it was the poster child of a multi ethnic society in which various ethnicities not only
coexisted but rather intermingled. This peaceful coexistence was disrupted by Slobodan Milosevic,
Serbia s president, who used Yugoslavia s economic and political crisis of 1988 in his favour by
essentializing the crisis along the lines of ethnic national identity. Through his

Essay On Lucretia
The purpose of this assignment is to present a brief yet comprehensive formal analysis of the work in
question, namely, Joos van Cleve s Lucretia. The painting was completed ca. 1525 by the Flemish
artist most likely in Antwerp, where he was highly active from about 1511 until his death in 1540. The
painting is oil on panel (75.9 x 60.6 cm) and is exemplary of the early Baroque period. The work
depicts at the broadest level the suicide of the early Roman historical figure, Lucretia, following her
rape c. 510 BC by Sextus Tarquinius, son of the last Roman king. The incident bears historical
significance as it marks rising popular dissatisfaction of the Roman people with the monarchy, and the
transition from the Roman Kingdom to the Roman Republic, ... Show more content on

This image of Lucretia is not that of some mythological or religious origin, say, of a venus, for
example, part of whose appeal is the depiction of nudity without social repercussion. With respect to
the time which bore this painting, it is not unlikely that this inclination to experiment with the female
nude was in part sublimated by means of this historical subject matter, however, so say that Lucretia s
nudity is illustrated only on account of what would amount to the privilege of moral impunity is
perhaps too simple an explanation. It seems much more reasonable to posit that Lucretia s own nudity,
especially in conjunction with her opulent, indeed, what is surely very expensive clothing (other
depictions of Lucretia typically omit the inclusion of clothes altogether), is employed by Cleve to
highlight Lucretia s shame amid her wealth and regal lifestyle, her clothes have been cleaved open,
and she had been irrevocable hurt and humiliated. Whether intended by the artist, this awkward
parting of Lucretia s garments over her left shoulder and down through her abdomen adds greatly to
the desolation and pity associated with her historical figure. Ultimately, this compositional decision
serves to augment the paintings emotional

Essay on Adelphia
Introduction
This case study is mainly about the character of John Rigas who owned a movie theatre named
Adelphia with the shares of his brother, Gus. After Adelphia, they purchased more new companies
such as Adelphia Communications Corporation and Century Communications. The continuous success
of their business causes, Adelphia Company became the sixth largest cable company in United States.
They faced a lot of problems throughout the journey they run their business. Adelphia always had
been as a family business because most of the shareholders and board of director of the company are

protection towards their employees because during that period the economic is too down. Hence,
based on Kant theory, it is actionably unethical. It stated that doing right thing with a right reason is
important in making a good decision. It is good when a person acts out of duty and not out of a

needy people. He does not disclose all the information appropriately and there is fraudulent made by
management staff towards the financial position of the company with the concern of John Rigas.
Therefore, it is consider as violent according to law and accounting standard.
According to Bar Council of view, the action of John Rigas led it to conflict of interest between Rigas
family and stakeholders of the company. The conflict of interest the company faced was how the
company choose to staff its Board of Directors with family members and close family friends. As we
can see, 60 percent of voting shares of company are held by Rigas family including John Rigas, sons
Michael, James, and Timothy, and son in law, Peter Venetis. Although there is no restriction
prohibiting family members from being on the board of directors, this usually is not advised. This is

Wildfire On Invertebrate Community
I have been an avid outdoorsman for as long as I can remember. I grew up hiking the Appalachian
Trail in Pennsylvania and fly fishing on some great trout waters. I was fortunate enough to spend my
college years in Colorado, where I continued to fish incredible rivers. And, even if I were not to catch
anything at all, I would still spend the day in some of the most serene environments that I had ever
seen. My passion to obtain a Master s degree and eventually a doctorate arises from my love of the
outdoors and my desire to contribute meaningfully to protecting the environment for the enjoyment of
future generations.
While at Colorado College, I studied German Language and Culture and minored in Philosophy.

Eric Larson, we have identified a topic that will fit into these broader research interests. I will develop
a project to better understand the links between laboratory behavior and field function of an invasive
species, the rusty crayfish. I have communicated with Dr. Larson via phone and email over the last
several months and have discussed the possibility of collaborating with an incoming doctoral
candidate. Dr. Larson has submitted an NSF proposal that would investigate population crashes of this
same invasive crayfish and, if funded, would mean the selected student will be working in the same
system that I plan on working in. I believe that being able to work together and having this vertical
connection within the lab will be beneficial to both of us, and that we will be able to produce
meaningful publications as a result. I am excited to help determine whether or not laboratory
behaviors of an invasive species can tell us anything about their field function, including how they fit
into the aquatic food web and whether controlled lab experiments might be a useful tool in
determining how we manage invasive

Similarities And Differences Between The Human Mind And...
Variations in Symbolic Anthropology After centuries of continuous and unresolved (though not
fruitless) debate by many great theorists on how the scientific method should be applied to
anthropology, a method was formulated that promised to finally put the debate to rest: just don t apply
them at all. Symbolic Anthropologists advocated the use of a variety of tools from psychology, history,
and literature to conduct their anthropology (McGee and Warms 2004:525). The work of Sapir and
Whorf had made revolutionary claims about the idea of knowledge and the mechanism behind its
transmission. Symbolic anthropology could use this as a base with which to launch assumptions about
knowledge and culture; science, after all, isn t primary or even essential in these processes. The human
mind, however, was. The traditional studies of literature, psychology, and history are in some
important ways closer to the source of human knowledge in this model laid out by Sapir and Whorf.
Of course, the individual human mind is impossible to enter and so expressions of these ideas, rather
than the ideas themselve,s are culture and important. These ideas were hugely different than those
before them; it was a complete restatement of anthropology all together. Perhaps because it was so
different, and also due in part to its nature where great respect is given to personal interpretation, there
were similarly large differences of opinion by its subscribers about how it should be

They gave a great portion for the price they offered it for. The fried calamari was very fresh when it
was brought to our table. I loved how they made some crispy and some tender. The marinara sauce
they brought along with the calamari was absolutely fabulous, they added a small spice into the sauce
giving a little kick but I loved it.
When our entrees came out I was shocked. I didn t believe how much they give you every time. Buca
is very generous with their portions and does great job of making their famous pastas. The chicken
Parmigianino was absolutely fabulous. The chicken had a nice texture to it especially when you cut it
up. The chicken was just so tender and juicy and even crunchy due to the crunchy outside. The
marinara sauce on top of it was different from what they gave with the calamari and it was amazing.
You can tell the freshness of the tomatoes and the basil they use for their sauce. The pasta went really
well with the chicken. On the other hand the chicken alfredo was not what I had anticipated. I love
cheese, but the amount of cheese they had on this pasta was just overwhelming. The thickness of the
sauce was just way too much for my taste buds. The chicken in the alfredo was just as tender and
delicious as the Parmigianino, but the sauce of the alfredo really disappointed me. The first few bites
were incredible but it got very difficult to eat because it wasn t as creamy as I wanted it to be. The

The First Woman Out Of Three
Ever since Darwin proposed the hypothesis that man and apes have common ancestry, the study of
Primatology has been a main focus in the world of science. Wether or not the scientist were studying
the relationship between ape and human or studying the basic way of life of apes, the study of
Primatology has proven to be controversial and the subject of ridicule to its early pioneering scientists.
In the past century, technology severely limited the study of primatology which means the scientist
had to resort to gorilla tactics to study apes, and go into the jungle themselves. So, scientist like Jane
Goodall, Birute Galdikas, Eugene Dubois, and Raymond Dart endured much ridicule at the time for
their groundbreaking discoveries, but still paved the way for modern day anthropologists. Scientists
current understanding of apes and their relationship to humans would not be the same today had it not
been for the valiant efforts put forth by these firsts few.
Jane Goodall is the first woman out of three, known as the Trimates, to be sent by Louis Leakey, to
study primates in their natural habitat. During her expedition, Goodall studied chimpanzees. She was
the first person in history to ever to record the way chimpanzees act in their natural habitat. She
observed them eating animals they hunted, eating other monkeys, and using tools to acquire more
food. After, announcing her major discoveries Goodall was met with criticism by other researchers
because of her lack of using

How Does George Orwell Use Propaganda In Animal Farm
Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is an allegoric novel based on the history of the Soviet Union and
the Russian Revolution (1917 to 1944) disguised as an animal fable. Orwell draws his audience into a

Technetium-99m Research Paper
Technetium 99m (99mTc) is the radiopharmaceutical used for pulmonary perfusion imaging (Leden,
E. 1990). It localizes by the mechanism of capillary blockade. In general, less than 1 in 1000 ( 0.1%)
of the capillaries are blocked. In the absence of shunts, 95% of the particles are removed from the
circulation on the first pass through the pulmonary capillary bed. About 5% of particles measure less
than 5 μm in diameter and pass through the capillary system. For purposes of pulmonary perfusion
imaging, it is important to use a sufficient number of particles to allow for good statistical distribution.
In general, injection of a minimum of 100,000 particles and optimally between 200,000 and 600,000
particles is required (Leden, E. 1990). The half life of 99mTc after injection into the body is 6 hours.
This allows researchers to put these nuclei to use. Nuclei of technetium 99 emit gamma rays with a
characteristic energy of 140 keV (Leden, E. 1990). This property makes them highly desirable in
medicine, as gamma rays are absorbed far from the examined organ, minimizing the danger posed to
living matter. Production of 99mTc entails aggregation of human serum albumin using heat and a
reducing agent to form the particles. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Horace Miner s Body Ritual Among The.
Prompt #1 Horace Miner s Body Ritual Among the Nacirema was a very entertaining essay. The essay
made made fun of American culture without directly stating the name of the culture, other than
including the word American spelled backwards. Miner bring to the readers attention the odd rituals
practiced in America that the normal citizen would not find strange at all. However, by presenting his
essay in the this form he shows how strange American customs are from the view of someone in a
different country. Miner begins his essay by describing the American culture as if it were a tribe.
Although he does so secretly, Horace Miner does state that the tribe is located between Canada and
Mexico. He then states that they have an a developed market, yet they re main concern is on the body.
He then goes on to talk about the ritual areas in the homes on the Nacirema people, bathrooms, where
the people practice they re odd rituals. He does not use direct terms for the medicine men, nor any of
the other physicians that are seen in the daily lives of American people. Miner continues this process
while only leaving slight hints. Horace Miner does a terrific job in this satire. Once view of this paper
is noticed, the reader can be entertained by the mysterious ways of the Nacerima people. This essay
has brought attention to the ways of American culture, which is not only infomative but very

The Good and Bad of Roosevelt s New Deal Essay
The Good and Bad of Roosevelt s New Deal The era of the Great Depression was by far the worst
shape the United States had ever been in, both economically and physically. Franklin Roosevelt was
elected in 1932 and began to bring relief with his New Deal. In his first 100 days as President, sixteen
pieces of legislation were passed by Congress, the most to be passed in a short amount of time.
Roosevelt was re elected twice, and quickly gained the trust of the American people. Many of the New
Deal policies helped the United States economy greatly, but some did not. One particularly
contradictory act was the Agricultural Adjustment Act, which was later declared unconstitutional by
Congress. Many things also stayed very consistent in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In retrospect, farmers found themselves worse off because the National Recovery Administration had
been very successful in forcing up prices that consumers, including farmers had to pay for
manufactured goods. Unfortunately, massive government intervention in agriculture never went away.
Another one of the New Deal s contradictory reforms was the National Industrial Recovery Act. The
principle was to establish minimum wages and prices and general labor regulations. On one hand, it
sought to keep wage rates high and give the consumer greater purchasing power. On the other hand, it
established hundreds of legally sanctioned industry wide cartels that were allowed to establish
standard wages, hours of operation and minimum prices on their own terms. The minimum prices
meant that businesses would be prevented from underselling each other. The artificially high wages
also meant that unemployment would continue to rise. High prices for goods were not the right path to
take since the United States economy was in the biggest depression it had ever seen. In 1935, the
Supreme Court declared the NRA unconstitutional, on the grounds that the United States government
had no right to regulate intrastate commerce, since it was a power usually granted to state
governments. To replace parts of the NRA, Congress passed the National Labor Relations Board and

Motivation and features for Microfluidic and Lab on a chip
Lab on a chip is the main platform of Microfluidic technology. The computer chips miniaturize the
size of computer, Lab on a chip miniaturize the size of laboratory. In the past, chemists required a long
period of time and a large amount of sample or reagent to complete the analysis or synthesis.
However, using a square centimeter size chip instead of those large analysis instrument not only
reduces the consumption of resource but also shortens the experimental time. In addition, because of
these miniatures, the sewage emissions are also reduced. In other words, it is a kind of green
technology.
With the research and development of microfluidic chips, it has many unique characteristic features.
First, the chip material becomes diversified from those expensive glass and silicon materials to PDMS
(polydimethylsiloxane), PMMA (poly methyl methacrylate), PC (polycarbonate) and other polymer
materials allows a high degree of flexibility, while the cost are continually decreasing [2]. Second, the
manufacturing processes are more precision by using automatic and numerical controlled sub UV
laser to produce a smooth microchannel instead of hand based MEMS (microelectromechanical) [3].
Third, the components are highly integrated in a small chip including pumps, valves, channels,
reactors, etc. [3]. The fourth point is the precision drive technology mainly using fluid power,

Two Major Components Of Lactate Dehydrogenase In Biology
Lactate dehydrogenase is an enzyme that is found in most living organisms which catalyzes the
conversion of lactate to pyruvic acid. It converts NAD+ to NADH and back again. Pyruvate is
converted to lactate when oxygen isn t present and the reverse reaction takes place (Wikipedia). There
are two major subunits of lactate dehydrogenase which are the M form and the H form. The M form,
major subunit in muscles, is efficient in the conversion of pyruvate to lactate. The H form, major
subunit in the heart, is efficient in the conversion of lactate to pyruvate. Despite the differences in
structure of the M and H form, there s enough similarity for hybrids of the M and H form to form
(Goodsell).
The oxidization of lactate requires the binding of NAD+ to the enzyme first before lactate. A hydride
ion is rapidly transferred in either direction yielding a mixture of the two teranary complexes, enzyme
NAD+ lactate and enzyme NADH pyruvate. The dissociation of pyruvate from the enzyme followed
by NADH takes place. The rate of dissociation of NADH is the rate limiting step. This remains valid
in the reverse reaction as the binding of NADH takes place first and then the substrate, pyruvate, is
able to bind (Busby). The reverse reaction of pyruvate to lactate is the thermodynamically favored
reaction. When oxygen is insufficient, it s purpose is to restore NAD+ to allow glycolysis to continue
without stopping (Aalto). Although this reaction has a Gibbs Free energy value is 200kJ/mol, 93%

It Goes Without Saying That Equality And The Fight For It
It goes without saying that equality and the fight for it is one of the most important issues pressing on
us today. Whether it be from sexual orientation, gender assumption, the rights of the unborn to even
racial segregation and discrimination, the issue is still real and very much at hand. But who is to say
these issues only fall on to the heads of just one species? How is it that homo sapiens are the only
species to have all these discriminatory and demeaning issues thrust upon them? This is the main
premise against the argument of speciesm. It has been an age old problem that some group of people
or beings have been oppressed to an inhumane level. Whether it be slavery, sexism, or now a very
pertinent one in our society today, speciesm, these issues have been around for the ages and still haunt
our society to this day. Throughout this essay I will prove that it is not only illogical and ethically
immoral to follow the beliefs of speciesm but to follow this belief, as Peter Singer argues, would be
just as immoral as to identify oneself as a racist, sexist, or one with discriminatory beliefs.
Firstly, what even is speciesism? As Peter Singer, one of the greatest thinkers and philosophers of this
day and age, states speciesism is an attitude of bias against a being because of the species to which it
belongs. Typically, humans show speciesism when they give less weight to the interests of nonhuman
animals than they give to the similar interests of human beings. He

The article describes the issues that can occur specifically in adolescents during labor and how a doula
can be a helpful addition to the team. There is not numerical statistical information from the article, it
is more anecdotal and themed issues that arose over the collection of data. Based on the data
collection and emerging themes that were noted, implications that would affect practice were
identified by the authors. There is no identification of mortality or morbidity references in the article.
However, the authors mention reasons some participants did not utilize doula services and the

The Debate On Global Warming
Global Warming Argumentive Essay Both Al Gore and Daniel Botkin have different arguments on

Botkin tends to use scarce tactics, which are very similar to Gore. He states, in his essay Global
Warming Delusions that contrary to the latest news, the evidence on global warming will have very
serious effects on life is thin . Therefore, Botkins evidence is focusing on the contrary of the global
warming issue. In 2007, global warming climate change experts say that twenty to thirty percent of

that the earth was once warned about the tropical diseases spreading due to global warming. However,

Three Year Trend
It is evidently by the graph that the amount of sassy comments significantly decreased over the three
week programme. The programme had an average of 10.7 sassy remarks per day compared to the
baseline data of 15.5, this shows an average decrease of 4.8 sassy comments. Consequently, the
programme data greatly fluctuates over the three weeks with the maximum number of sassy comment
made during the three week period was fifteen and the minimum was six. Unmistakeably, there are
several trends, both of which are also seen in the baseline data. Firstly, the general trend of sassy

increase of 0.4048, it nevertheless demonstrates a small effectiveness of the programme. As seen on
the graph, the blue line (baseline data) is largely above the yellow line (programme date) in an upward
trend whereas the yellow line gradually declines. It is highly difficult to factor out the antecedents that
influence my behaviour; therefore understanding those factors is the second best option. I have noted
that my mood affects my amount of sassiness each day and that midweek my mood significantly
decreases and then increases in late week. Although, it impacts my data greatly it is too difficult to
change these controlling factors. A solution to the problem would be to control the amount of people I
see, thus, controlling my sassiness. Generally, I only express sassy comments as a response to a
cheeky or somewhat vacuous question/comment made by an acquaintance. Henceforth, restricting the
amount of people I see midweek when my sassiness peaks due to antecedents, such as mood, would to

Ideas Revealed Within My Last Duchess
Ideas Revealed within My Last Duchess In Robert Browning s poem, My Last Duchess, the author
writes of a Duke who seems to admit to murdering his last duchess. The poem starts with the Duke
introducing the painting of his last duchess to an emissary. He goes on to claim that she was unfaithful
and believes that she was flirting with the artist of her portrait. The Duke insists that he should be the
only one that has her attention. Throughout the poem, the Duke s ego is revealed and he implies that
he executed his own wife (Browning 1016 1017). My Last Duchess is filled with ambiguous claims
which calls the reader to examine every possibility. This is difficult considering there is only one
speaker, the Duke, in the poem. The three things that are discovered when a reader dives deeper into
Browning s poem, My Last Duchess , are the dysfunction of the Duke and Duchess relationship, the
reason for the Duke s vanity, and the misrepresented Duchess. Throughout the poem, many hints and
clues are given that show dysfunction in the Duke s and Duchess relationship. The Duke and Duchess
have a failing relationship because of childlessness and lack of communication (Hawlin 146).
Browning s Duke is based off of the real Duke of Ferrara who never had any children (Gardner Duke
169). Not only as a man but as a duke with a age old family name, not providing an heir would be
shaming. If the Duchess is fooling around , Gardner claims that the Duke reveals his impotence

Why Were There Two Revolutions In Russia In 1917
Why were there two revolutions in Russia in 1917? Why did the Provisional Government exist for
mere months, yet the Bolsheviks had consolidated their authority in the country by Lenin s death in
1924?
Between February and October in 1917, two revolutions occurred due to the Governments failing to
fulfill the needs of the Russian people. With the Tsar in power during Bloody Sunday that formed riots
and Government unrest and also the Russo Japanese War and World War One that left the Russian
people humiliated and in disarray. The reign of the Provisional Government was short due to failures
to provide land and food to the peasants and also the failure to pull Russia out of World War One
caused chaos throughout Russia once more. The rise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

With the collapse of the Tsar s Government in March 1917, the members of the Duma set up the
Provisional Government, led by Alexander Kerensky. The Provisional Government had one
disadvantage, it s leaders, who were all associated with the middle class and were not seen as having
anything in common with the working class, therefore it made the Provisional Government s job of
representing the working class a whole lot harder. There were many main reasons why the Provisional
Government only existed for mere months, with a large majority of those reasons being that their
decisions were greatly unpopular among the Russian people. A major blunder by the Provisional
Government that greatly affected their existence was the refusal of land reforms, this seemed to back
up the point that the Provisional Government did not understand the desires of the poor and didn t take
into account their living conditions. Another factor that lead to the removal of the Provisional

Title
Augmented reality and wearable devices will be implemented to monitor and give quick feedback on
daily life, especially tied to personal health.
Augmented reality is a descriptive used to explain the ways in which information layers added by
networked devices can inform people in ways that were not possible before the wireless Internet (Pew
Research Center).
Summary The paper describes the many different ways augmental reality is contributing to the new
era of technology. You will find the many different uses for augmented reality in healthcare such as
practical surgeon operations and tracking activity. These technologies can advance the way students
and surgeons can practice life threatening surgeries or operations, with the aid of a wearable device
that can act as an expert assistance. Tracking and monitoring health now doesn t require a trip to the
doctor. Now many of the basic data can be track by simply wearing a device on your wrist. This data
can be very crucial to knowing your lifestyle and can help you build a healthy habit. Along with
healthcare you will also be introduced to a new way communications are presented. Students are now
being introduced to many of the new technology that allows them to interact with the learning material
instead of the plain printed textbook. Researchers are finding that the interactions are dramatically

The Age Of Exploration And Its Effects On Economic And...
Summative
As European economy grew, and became more reliant on a cash system, replacing the land based
system of feudalism. The power shift is prominent, shifting from the lords and nobles to the merchants
of the middle class. The Age of Exploration has provided a framework for economic life around the
world for several centuries while also shaping politics, social relations, cultures, and natural
environments, changing the very nature of society. Of course the most important aspect of this
modernistic convention would most certainly be the newfound relation between, capitalism and
globalization and their effects on economic and political power. However some countries succeeded in
their endeavour of international trade, while others did not. Europeans constructed and maintained
their trade and territorial empires, whether through conquest, centralizing authority, religious
conversion, commercial monopolies, or through conflict with other Europeans. Economics seems to
be the most significant factor in the production line of human progress. There has been no event in
history that did not involve an aspect of economy. The basis of commerce in the Age of Exploration,
led to growth of international trade that would eventually lead to the Industrial revolution. This
foundation is heavily reliant on European powers enforcing economic trade around merchant
capitalism and the existing monarchy monopolism ideologies.Trade within Europe would continue to
facilitate economic growth

A Comparison of The Scarlet Letter and The House of the Seven Gables
Nathaniel Hawthorne, one of America s most renowned authors, demonstrates his extraordinary
talents in two of his most famed novels, The Scarlet Letter and The House of the Seven Gables. To
compare these two books seems bizarre, as their plots are distinctly different. Though the books are
quite seemingly different, the central themes and Hawthorne s style are closely related (Carey, p. 62).
American novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne is most famous for his books THE SCARLET LETTER and
THE HOUSE OF THE SEVEN GABLES, which are closely related in theme, the use of symbolism,
characterization, and style.
The central themes in The Scarlet Letter and The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Phoebe is considered to be the heart which warms the house, while Holgrave is the intellectual head.
When Phoebe and Holgrave fall in love, heart and head are brought together to form a union that may
end the curse forever (Sheldon, p. 16).
The obvious and most prevalent theme in both books is the effect of sin. In The Scarlet Letter, Hester
Prynne s sin was an understandably human one which arose from desire for the simple human bliss
open to all mankind. At this point, Roger Chillingworth is capable of remorse and is still able to rejoin
the great heart of mankind, but he is led astray into his own sin in which he pries into Dimmesdale s
heart, and his latent evil posses him (Rountree, p.89). In The House of the Seven Gables, this theme
seems to come through as an inherited curse. Greed drives both Colonel and Jaffrey Pyncheon to
encourage the persecution of a less powerful man, and then takes his land or inheritance. This sin is
seen as a curse throughout the book as it influences all that the living do (Carey, p. 58).
One of the characteristic themes of each book which helps to establish the setting, is the individual vs.
society. Hester Prynne s battle with society is established immediately, and we are let to judge her for
what she has done.
Hawthorne is known for being a Romantic writer with a Romantic subject: a rebel who refuses to
conform to society s code. Most

PICOT Problem Statement
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation in community residing adults using hands only CPR versus breathing
and hand use CPR are both useful when trying to avoid death if the people involved are fully aware of
the precautions and steps to take while undertaking the process.
Patient and Clinical Problems
Patients who are suffering from cardiac arrests and neurologic outcomes have a high chance of
needing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Efficient use of both hands only CPR versus breathing and
hand use CPR may improve their survival chances and boost their neurologic outcomes when they
undergo any form of an attack. The hands only CPR versus breathing and hand use CPR training
programs assist nurses, and the public on the treatment criteria to efficiently handle patients with
cardiac arrests emergencies, resulting in an increase of the cardiac arrests survival rates for many

Religious wars in the Middle East (Holy Land)
There were many conflicts that lead to religious wars in the Middle East or the Holy Land. History
gives no valid claim to any piece of land; someone else was always there earlier. This gives reason
that the Arabs and Israelis are not fighting about religion due to the fact that they are not trying to
promote their faith. Many religions peoplehood are rooted in the Holy Land, such as Judaism and
Christianity. The ancient Hebrews were almost continually at war and were conquered by Assyria,
Persia, Alexander the Great, and Rome. The Jews became a dispersed people but preserved a sense of
their nationhood through the books of the Bible. Over time many of the Jews were converted; whether
it was forced or voluntary, they assimilated into local life. Jews became so intertwined in the lives of
people all around the world. The Jews had a psychological connection to the land rather than a blood
connection. This allowed the Jews to spread spatially while still developing a strong connection to
God. The peaceful spread of Jews, though, caused religious carnages and expulsions. The
Enlightenment of the eighteenth century brought back religious intolerance and brought Jews out of
the ghetto and into citizenship in West Europe. This was a slow process done in backward Russia
where most Jews lived. Earlier outbursts against the Jews were connected to the fight to convert them.
The new nationalism of Europe saw Jews as a racially distinct and impure people. Nationalism is an

The Alternative Source Of Energy
Alternative Source of Energy Over the past years, scientist began thinking deeper into the possibilities
for energy that is renewable. They mostly looked into the sun as there number one source, the wind
and other renewable options. Indeed, the sun for many years has provided heat for the earth whereby
the energy it produces warms the earth directly and also indirectly. By so doing the heat makes water
to evaporate lakes and other water sources like rivers and streams that eventually falls back to the
earth and then filters into the ground. Overview of Geothermal Energy When we go deep into the
history of geothermal energy or rather archeologically, it is clear the first human use of this discovery
was in the North America and this was sometime around 10,000 years ago with the settlement of the
Paleo Indians near hot springs that served as a source of warmth and healing purposes. In 1904, Italian
scientist, Piero Ginori, the Co Prince Piero Ginori Continti, established the first geothermal electric
power plant in which power was generated by the use of steam. Ginori is actually the person who is
known for the discovery of geothermal energy, (Armstead, H. C. H. 2008). The three main types of
power plant designs, which use geothermal as the source of energy, are, flash steam, dry steam, and
binary cycle power stations. These sources are divided into high temperature resources and low

3.4 LITHIUM NICKEL MANGANESE OXIDE or LNM (LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 ):
The Lithium Nickel Manganese oxide battery is still in its experimental stages. It consists of a 25%
nickel substituted in a LiMn2O4 spinel. This is because Manganese will have 4 electrons in its valence
shell which will avoid the Jahn Teller distortion caused due to the Mn3+. Due to the oxidation or

The doping iron increases the capacity of batteries, but this diminishes with extensive cycling. The
detrimental effect of iron can be avoided by annealing. Ruthenium is another transition metal which
can be used as a dopant which enhances the stability of the crystal structure. It also increases
conductivity and improve performance of the battery. Chromium is another transition metal that can
be used as a dopant. It reduces the ordering of lithium ions in LiMn2O4 spinel and this stabilizes the
spinel structure. It also increases capacity retention during cycling. Zinc is used as a dopant in cathode
materials as it has a stabilizing effect on the crystal structure. Addition of Zinc oxide also prevents
reaction between the electrode and electrolyte. Titanium along with cobalt also acts as a stabilizer and
also reduces dissolution of electrodes. Zirconium reduces reactivity levels between the electrode and
the electrolyte and performs the same function as titanium by stabilizing the crystal structure.
Aluminium is one of the most commonly used dopants in cathode materials. It performs the function

How Islam Has Become A Prominent Religion
Islam has become a prominent religion in the world since its creation by the Prophet Muhammad. This
would have not happened if there were not many prominent events in the years since it was created.
Eight events that have happened in the Muslim community are the first revelation, the Hijrah, the
change in the direction of prayer, the taking of Mecca, Abu Bakr becoming the first caliph and his
important few years of rule, and the rule of the Safavid Empire. The First Revelation happened on 17
Ramadan, 610 C.E.. Muhammad was fasting and praying in a cave at the peak of Mount Hira as was
his custom for that time of year. On that night, he awoke and was overtaken by a powerful force. He
struggled with the force and eventually succumbed to it. Muhammad started speaking in Arabic. This
scripture was the first words of what would later be known as The Qur an. This event was the origin of
Islam. Muhammad had just received a line with a divine figure, who would later be known as Allah,
and that would change the world. The First Revelation was the start of the religion known as Islam.
Twelve years after The First Revelation, in 622 C.E., there was a great migration of Muslim families
from Mecca to Yathrib, which became known as al Medinah. This is known as The Hijrah, and was
the start of the Muslim era. The Hijrah upset the Quraysh because the new Muslim families had turned
their back on their tribe and became a part of Muhammad s tribe, sharing common ideals instead of
blood. The

Payers For The Stolen Analysis
It s important to determine which surroundings work best for you, and then build that environment to
suit your needs (Henner). We learn from and adapt to our environment. We choose whether or not to
let our environment change us for the better or the worse. Payers for the Stolen character Ladydi
Garcia Martinez is a prime example of how your environment shapes the way you act and who you
become in the future. Crime, friendships, poverty, death, gender barriers and infinite other events that
have been the controlling environment in which she has lived.
At birth we are told to nurture our children by their biological nature. It has long been believed by the
scientific community that the gender identity of a child was determined by the child s upbringing,
surrounding environment, and the way the child was treated during growth (Bader). Girls are taught to
be lady like, to have clean hair and nails. To be polite and obey and more. However, that was not the
case in Ladydi s life. Now we make you ugly, my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Poverty was not little in the area of which she lived. All of the men that lived on their mountain would
travel to Mexico City and Acapulco for work. They would send money back to their families and
some would even come back home, but after a while that would stop. Ladydi s father was a bartender
at a hotel. Her mother was mostly home with her and created somewhat of a single parent
environment until her farther came home and until he left and never came back.
Our environments help us create character and personality. We choose whether to live in the life in
which is made and shaped for us or use that life to create a better you. We hold our own future in our
hands. We can make them bad or good. We can make them to benefit or break us, but either way we
control how we let it shape our future. Don t let your environment write you end. Only let it start your
beginning and enhance your future. We are what we choose to

I Collected Rhonda s Demographic And Intake Information
In the following, we will examine three progress notes from my work with Rhonda throughout her
treatment, a final clinical summary of the work, and a self reflection section on not only the
challenges, but also what was learned from our work together.
First, we will examine my initial clinical note on 8/15/16 with client, Rhonda Smith, session one.
During this first session, I collected Rhonda s demographic and intake information (Murphy Dillon,
2015; Reamer, 2001). This included a signed consent for treatment, which we reviewed and all her
questions were answered, as well as signed medical releases for previous therapy and agency records,
i.e., DVIS, CPS, CASA, that will be requested (Murphy Dillon, 2015; Reamer, 2001). Additionally,
she was informed about HIPAA, patient privacy rights, billing practices, professional boundaries and
expectations, and how to contact me during business hours, and after hours crisis lines, and on call
assistance phone numbers for resources if it is outside of my business hours (Murphy Dillon, 2015).
Together with the above information, I collected a comprehensive history of Rhonda at our initial
session. She is a thirty six year old Asian American, born in Los Angeles, but moved to rural Arizona
when she was five because her father took a job on a cattle ranch. Rhonda s family were refugees that
moved to L.A. after the Vietnam War ended and her parents are first generation Hmong Americans.
Further, she has three sisters and she

The Effect Of Genetic Diversity On Living Things Are The...
The main cause of genetic diversity in living things are the five processes of evolution. These five
processes genetic drift, gene flow, natural selection, speciation, and mutations all affect allele
frequencies within a population in different ways, thus, creating genetic diversity. Population change
is in direct relation to both genetic drift and gene flow. Genetic drift is defined as variation in the
relative frequency of different genotypes in a small population. This variation is caused by two types
of genetic drift also known as the Bottleneck effect and the Founders effect. A Bottleneck effect is
typically caused by a random event such as hunting or a natural disaster which can significantly
reduce a population. Although a population can gain back their original population size after a
Bottleneck effect, their genes have been permanently affected, resulting in much less genetic variation
than that of a population that was not affected by a Bottleneck effect. Examples of genetic diversity
due to a Bottleneck effect include the lack of genetic variation due to intense hunting in the 1890 s
within the Northern elephant seal population compared to the large Southern elephant seal population.
A Founders effect occurs when individuals from a large population branch out and create a new
colony. Due to the small population, the colony is more likely to have less genetic variation from the
original population. An example of a Founders effect is the presence of Polydactyly

Serve Of Fail Analysis
Serve of Fail by Eggers brings up many interesting points as to why volunteering should be a
requirement for college students. Colleges should create in their students a lifelong commitment to
volunteering, he said while pointing out that college students are uniquely suited to volunteering. He
stated that America would gain millions of volunteer hours and it would help colleges bridge the gap
between the academic world and the world beyond it. I agree that colleges should make volunteering a
requirements for students and I support Eggers argument, but have a different opinion on some of his
points.
Eggers brings up a point that colleges should instill in their students a lifelong commitment to
volunteering. Given that all people are different, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The amount of college students in America make that number plausible. Those 10 hours a year could
be put to good use by volunteering and doing something good for the community. Volunteering would
give the students a better look at the real world .
Volunteering could help colleges bridge the gap between the academic world and the world beyond it
says Eggers. Volunteering could be done at many venues and by volunteering at work places or in a
field they prefer to, students can get to know that field better. Acquiring that perspective will connect
the students to that field of work allowing them to gain experience.
Although I don t agree with Eggers that colleges should be responsible for instilling in their students a
love for volunteering and that college students are suited to volunteering, he brings up some good
points. Requiring college students to volunteer would give America millions of volunteer hours and
will connect students to the workplace. I agree that required volunteering will be a benefit to American
college students, and the country as a whole, therefore I support Eggers

Taking a Look at Syria
Syria which formerly was called Al Sham or Levant is located in Western Asia. This country has
borders with Turkey to the north Iraq to the east Jordan to the south Israel to the south east and

in Egypt. In 1516 the Ottoman Sultan, Selim, conquered Syria, after defeating the Mamluk near
Aleppo in Northern Syria. After sometimes he changed the whole Syria into one Eyalat named Sam

of Mount Lebanon and Mutasarrifate of Jerusalem. Now the modern Syria which was established after
First World War has fourteen governorates or Muhafazat. Each of the governorates is divided into
sixty districts or Mantiqa, which are further divided into sub districts (Nahiya). Every Nahiya
encompasses villages which are considered the smallest administrative unite. Each governorate is
governed by a governor and is appointed by the ministry of interior and must gain the approval of the
cabinet. The capital of the Syria is Damascus, which is located in the south of Syria.

  • 2. The Violence Of A Multi Ethnic Society Samuel Huntington famously stated that the fiercest clashes have become battles between civilizations, according to him these clashes are neither ideological or economic, but rather cultural. Huntington couldn t have been more mistaken. In reality, the modern world has become plagued with an increasing presence of intra state wars as modern conflict has become synonymous with clashes between individuals, groups, and communities that differ very little . Freud attempted to explain this perplexing occurrence as a narcissism of minor differences by stating that group solidarity requires the existence of an Other , a minority, which through its suppression validates the identity of the majority. According to this logic, all communities despite their homogeneity must seek a minority within themselves in order to validate their existence. Bosnia s cosmopolitanism prior to the Yugoslavian War provides us with a vivid example that this narcissism is a superficial explanation as to why fraternal conflict occurs. Prior to the war, Bosnia was not only the most ethnically integrated Yugoslavian republic, it was the poster child of a multi ethnic society in which various ethnicities not only coexisted but rather intermingled. This peaceful coexistence was disrupted by Slobodan Milosevic, Serbia s president, who used Yugoslavia s economic and political crisis of 1988 in his favour by essentializing the crisis along the lines of ethnic national identity. • 3. Essay On Lucretia The purpose of this assignment is to present a brief yet comprehensive formal analysis of the work in question, namely, Joos van Cleve s Lucretia. The painting was completed ca. 1525 by the Flemish artist most likely in Antwerp, where he was highly active from about 1511 until his death in 1540. The painting is oil on panel (75.9 x 60.6 cm) and is exemplary of the early Baroque period. The work depicts at the broadest level the suicide of the early Roman historical figure, Lucretia, following her rape c. 510 BC by Sextus Tarquinius, son of the last Roman king. The incident bears historical significance as it marks rising popular dissatisfaction of the Roman people with the monarchy, and the transition from the Roman Kingdom to the Roman Republic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This image of Lucretia is not that of some mythological or religious origin, say, of a venus, for example, part of whose appeal is the depiction of nudity without social repercussion. With respect to the time which bore this painting, it is not unlikely that this inclination to experiment with the female nude was in part sublimated by means of this historical subject matter, however, so say that Lucretia s nudity is illustrated only on account of what would amount to the privilege of moral impunity is perhaps too simple an explanation. It seems much more reasonable to posit that Lucretia s own nudity, especially in conjunction with her opulent, indeed, what is surely very expensive clothing (other depictions of Lucretia typically omit the inclusion of clothes altogether), is employed by Cleve to highlight Lucretia s shame amid her wealth and regal lifestyle, her clothes have been cleaved open, and she had been irrevocable hurt and humiliated. Whether intended by the artist, this awkward parting of Lucretia s garments over her left shoulder and down through her abdomen adds greatly to the desolation and pity associated with her historical figure. Ultimately, this compositional decision serves to augment the paintings emotional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I grew up hiking the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania and fly fishing on some great trout waters. And, even if I were not to catch anything at all, I would still spend the day in some of the most serene environments that I had ever seen. My passion to obtain a Master s degree and eventually a doctorate arises from my love of the outdoors and my desire to contribute meaningfully to protecting the environment for the enjoyment of future generations. Dr. Larson has submitted an NSF proposal that would investigate population crashes of this same invasive crayfish and, if funded, would mean the selected student will be working in the same system that I plan on working in. • 6. Similarities And Differences Between The Human Mind And... Variations in Symbolic Anthropology After centuries of continuous and unresolved (though not fruitless) debate by many great theorists on how the scientific method should be applied to anthropology, a method was formulated that promised to finally put the debate to rest: just don t apply them at all. Symbolic Anthropologists advocated the use of a variety of tools from psychology, history, and literature to conduct their anthropology (McGee and Warms 2004:525). The work of Sapir and Whorf had made revolutionary claims about the idea of knowledge and the mechanism behind its transmission. Symbolic anthropology could use this as a base with which to launch assumptions about knowledge and culture; science, after all, isn t primary or even essential in these processes. The human mind, however, was. The traditional studies of literature, psychology, and history are in some important ways closer to the source of human knowledge in this model laid out by Sapir and Whorf. Of course, the individual human mind is impossible to enter and so expressions of these ideas, rather than the ideas themselve,s are culture and important. These ideas were hugely different than those before them; it was a complete restatement of anthropology all together. Perhaps because it was so different, and also due in part to its nature where great respect is given to personal interpretation, there were similarly large differences of opinion by its subscribers about how it should be ... • 8. The First Woman Out Of Three Ever since Darwin proposed the hypothesis that man and apes have common ancestry, the study of Primatology has been a main focus in the world of science. Wether or not the scientist were studying the relationship between ape and human or studying the basic way of life of apes, the study of Primatology has proven to be controversial and the subject of ridicule to its early pioneering scientists. In the past century, technology severely limited the study of primatology which means the scientist had to resort to gorilla tactics to study apes, and go into the jungle themselves. So, scientist like Jane Goodall, Birute Galdikas, Eugene Dubois, and Raymond Dart endured much ridicule at the time for their groundbreaking discoveries, but still paved the way for modern day anthropologists. Scientists current understanding of apes and their relationship to humans would not be the same today had it not been for the valiant efforts put forth by these firsts few. Jane Goodall is the first woman out of three, known as the Trimates, to be sent by Louis Leakey, to study primates in their natural habitat. During her expedition, Goodall studied chimpanzees. She was the first person in history to ever to record the way chimpanzees act in their natural habitat. In general, less than 1 in 1000 ( 0.1%) of the capillaries are blocked. In the absence of shunts, 95% of the particles are removed from the circulation on the first pass through the pulmonary capillary bed. About 5% of particles measure less than 5 μm in diameter and pass through the capillary system. For purposes of pulmonary perfusion imaging, it is important to use a sufficient number of particles to allow for good statistical distribution. In general, injection of a minimum of 100,000 particles and optimally between 200,000 and 600,000 particles is required (Leden, E. 1990). The half life of 99mTc after injection into the body is 6 hours. This allows researchers to put these nuclei to use. Nuclei of technetium 99 emit gamma rays with a characteristic energy of 140 keV (Leden, E. 1990). In his first 100 days as President, sixteen pieces of legislation were passed by Congress, the most to be passed in a short amount of time. Unfortunately, massive government intervention in agriculture never went away. Another one of the New Deal s contradictory reforms was the National Industrial Recovery Act. The principle was to establish minimum wages and prices and general labor regulations. On one hand, it sought to keep wage rates high and give the consumer greater purchasing power. On the other hand, it established hundreds of legally sanctioned industry wide cartels that were allowed to establish standard wages, hours of operation and minimum prices on their own terms. The minimum prices meant that businesses would be prevented from underselling each other. The artificially high wages also meant that unemployment would continue to rise. High prices for goods were not the right path to take since the United States economy was in the biggest depression it had ever seen. • 20. Two Major Components Of Lactate Dehydrogenase In Biology Lactate dehydrogenase is an enzyme that is found in most living organisms which catalyzes the conversion of lactate to pyruvic acid. It converts NAD+ to NADH and back again. Pyruvate is converted to lactate when oxygen isn t present and the reverse reaction takes place (Wikipedia). There are two major subunits of lactate dehydrogenase which are the M form and the H form. The M form, major subunit in muscles, is efficient in the conversion of pyruvate to lactate. The H form, major subunit in the heart, is efficient in the conversion of lactate to pyruvate. Despite the differences in structure of the M and H form, there s enough similarity for hybrids of the M and H form to form (Goodsell). The oxidization of lactate requires the binding of NAD+ to the enzyme first before lactate. A hydride ion is rapidly transferred in either direction yielding a mixture of the two teranary complexes, enzyme NAD+ lactate and enzyme NADH pyruvate. The dissociation of pyruvate from the enzyme followed by NADH takes place. The rate of dissociation of NADH is the rate limiting step. This remains valid in the reverse reaction as the binding of NADH takes place first and then the substrate, pyruvate, is able to bind (Busby). The reverse reaction of pyruvate to lactate is the thermodynamically favored reaction. When oxygen is insufficient, it s purpose is to restore NAD+ to allow glycolysis to continue without stopping (Aalto). Although this reaction has a Gibbs Free energy value is 200kJ/mol, 93% ... Whether it be from sexual orientation, gender assumption, the rights of the unborn to even racial segregation and discrimination, the issue is still real and very much at hand. But who is to say these issues only fall on to the heads of just one species? How is it that homo sapiens are the only species to have all these discriminatory and demeaning issues thrust upon them? This is the main premise against the argument of speciesm. It has been an age old problem that some group of people or beings have been oppressed to an inhumane level. Whether it be slavery, sexism, or now a very pertinent one in our society today, speciesm, these issues have been around for the ages and still haunt our society to this day. Throughout this essay I will prove that it is not only illogical and ethically immoral to follow the beliefs of speciesm but to follow this belief, as Peter Singer argues, would be just as immoral as to identify oneself as a racist, sexist, or one with discriminatory beliefs. Firstly, what even is speciesism? As Peter Singer, one of the greatest thinkers and philosophers of this day and age, states speciesism is an attitude of bias against a being because of the species to which it belongs. Typically, humans show speciesism when they give less weight to the interests of nonhuman animals than they give to the similar interests of human beings. He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Ideas Revealed Within My Last Duchess Ideas Revealed within My Last Duchess In Robert Browning s poem, My Last Duchess, the author writes of a Duke who seems to admit to murdering his last duchess. The poem starts with the Duke introducing the painting of his last duchess to an emissary. He goes on to claim that she was unfaithful and believes that she was flirting with the artist of her portrait. The Duke insists that he should be the only one that has her attention. Throughout the poem, the Duke s ego is revealed and he implies that he executed his own wife (Browning 1016 1017). My Last Duchess is filled with ambiguous claims which calls the reader to examine every possibility. This is difficult considering there is only one speaker, the Duke, in the poem. The three things that are discovered when a reader dives deeper into Browning s poem, My Last Duchess , are the dysfunction of the Duke and Duchess relationship, the reason for the Duke s vanity, and the misrepresented Duchess. Throughout the poem, many hints and clues are given that show dysfunction in the Duke s and Duchess relationship. The Duke and Duchess have a failing relationship because of childlessness and lack of communication (Hawlin 146). Browning s Duke is based off of the real Duke of Ferrara who never had any children (Gardner Duke 169). The Age of Exploration has provided a framework for economic life around the world for several centuries while also shaping politics, social relations, cultures, and natural environments, changing the very nature of society. Of course the most important aspect of this modernistic convention would most certainly be the newfound relation between, capitalism and globalization and their effects on economic and political power. Though the books are quite seemingly different, the central themes and Hawthorne s style are closely related (Carey, p. 62). When Phoebe and Holgrave fall in love, heart and head are brought together to form a union that may end the curse forever (Sheldon, p. 16). The obvious and most prevalent theme in both books is the effect of sin. In The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne s sin was an understandably human one which arose from desire for the simple human bliss open to all mankind. At this point, Roger Chillingworth is capable of remorse and is still able to rejoin the great heart of mankind, but he is led astray into his own sin in which he pries into Dimmesdale s heart, and his latent evil posses him (Rountree, p.89). In The House of the Seven Gables, this theme seems to come through as an inherited curse. Greed drives both Colonel and Jaffrey Pyncheon to encourage the persecution of a less powerful man, and then takes his land or inheritance. This sin is seen as a curse throughout the book as it influences all that the living do (Carey, p. 58). One of the characteristic themes of each book which helps to establish the setting, is the individual vs. society. It consists of a 25% nickel substituted in a LiMn2O4 spinel. This is because Manganese will have 4 electrons in its valence shell which will avoid the Jahn Teller distortion caused due to the Mn3+. Due to the oxidation or reduction of Nickel ions which leads to the transfer of electrons which corresponds to electric current. LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 takes shape in two conceivable crystallographic structures concurring the cationic sub lattice: the face focused spinel (S.G. Fd3m) named as cluttered spinel furthermore, the straightforward cubic stage (S.G. P4332) named as requested spinel . This addition allows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The doping iron increases the capacity of batteries, but this diminishes with extensive cycling. The detrimental effect of iron can be avoided by annealing. Ruthenium is another transition metal which can be used as a dopant which enhances the stability of the crystal structure. It also increases conductivity and improve performance of the battery. Chromium is another transition metal that can be used as a dopant. It reduces the ordering of lithium ions in LiMn2O4 spinel and this stabilizes the spinel structure. It also increases capacity retention during cycling. Zinc is used as a dopant in cathode materials as it has a stabilizing effect on the crystal structure. Addition of Zinc oxide also prevents reaction between the electrode and electrolyte. Titanium along with cobalt also acts as a stabilizer and also reduces dissolution of electrodes. Zirconium reduces reactivity levels between the electrode and the electrolyte and performs the same function as titanium by stabilizing the crystal structure. Aluminium is one of the most commonly used dopants in cathode materials. It performs the function of increasing capacity of the electrodes. The addition of aluminium improves electrode kinetics, structural modifications and microstructural effects. Some of the other dopants include Magnesium and Lathanum which increases the lattice parameter and improves the stability of the crystal structure and also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. How Islam Has Become A Prominent Religion Islam has become a prominent religion in the world since its creation by the Prophet Muhammad. This would have not happened if there were not many prominent events in the years since it was created. Eight events that have happened in the Muslim community are the first revelation, the Hijrah, the change in the direction of prayer, the taking of Mecca, Abu Bakr becoming the first caliph and his important few years of rule, and the rule of the Safavid Empire. The First Revelation happened on 17 Ramadan, 610 C.E.. Muhammad was fasting and praying in a cave at the peak of Mount Hira as was his custom for that time of year. On that night, he awoke and was overtaken by a powerful force. He struggled with the force and eventually succumbed to it. Muhammad started speaking in Arabic. This scripture was the first words of what would later be known as The Qur an. This event was the origin of Islam. Muhammad had just received a line with a divine figure, who would later be known as Allah, and that would change the world. The First Revelation was the start of the religion known as Islam. Twelve years after The First Revelation, in 622 C.E., there was a great migration of Muslim families from Mecca to Yathrib, which became known as al Medinah. This is known as The Hijrah, and was the start of the Muslim era. The Hijrah upset the Quraysh because the new Muslim families had turned their back on their tribe and became a part of Muhammad s tribe, sharing common ideals instead of blood. The ... • 44. Payers For The Stolen Analysis It s important to determine which surroundings work best for you, and then build that environment to suit your needs (Henner). We learn from and adapt to our environment. We choose whether or not to let our environment change us for the better or the worse. Payers for the Stolen character Ladydi Garcia Martinez is a prime example of how your environment shapes the way you act and who you become in the future. Crime, friendships, poverty, death, gender barriers and infinite other events that have been the controlling environment in which she has lived. At birth we are told to nurture our children by their biological nature. It has long been believed by the scientific community that the gender identity of a child was determined by the child s upbringing, surrounding environment, and the way the child was treated during growth (Bader). Girls are taught to be lady like, to have clean hair and nails. To be polite and obey and more. However, that was not the case in Ladydi s life. Now we make you ugly, my ... They would send money back to their families and some would even come back home, but after a while that would stop. Ladydi s father was a bartender at a hotel. Her mother was mostly home with her and created somewhat of a single parent environment until her farther came home and until he left and never came back. Our environments help us create character and personality. We choose whether to live in the life in which is made and shaped for us or use that life to create a better you. We hold our own future in our hands. We can make them bad or good. We can make them to benefit or break us, but either way we control how we let it shape our future. • 45. I Collected Rhonda s Demographic And Intake Information In the following, we will examine three progress notes from my work with Rhonda throughout her treatment, a final clinical summary of the work, and a self reflection section on not only the challenges, but also what was learned from our work together. First, we will examine my initial clinical note on 8/15/16 with client, Rhonda Smith, session one. During this first session, I collected Rhonda s demographic and intake information (Murphy Dillon, 2015; Reamer, 2001). This included a signed consent for treatment, which we reviewed and all her questions were answered, as well as signed medical releases for previous therapy and agency records, i.e., DVIS, CPS, CASA, that will be requested (Murphy Dillon, 2015; Reamer, 2001). Additionally, she was informed about HIPAA, patient privacy rights, billing practices, professional boundaries and expectations, and how to contact me during business hours, and after hours crisis lines, and on call assistance phone numbers for resources if it is outside of my business hours (Murphy Dillon, 2015). Together with the above information, I collected a comprehensive history of Rhonda at our initial session. She is a thirty six year old Asian American, born in Los Angeles, but moved to rural Arizona when she was five because her father took a job on a cattle ranch. Rhonda s family were refugees that moved to L.A. after the Vietnam War ended and her parents are first generation Hmong Americans. Further, she has three sisters and she ... • 46. The Effect Of Genetic Diversity On Living Things Are The... The main cause of genetic diversity in living things are the five processes of evolution. These five processes genetic drift, gene flow, natural selection, speciation, and mutations all affect allele frequencies within a population in different ways, thus, creating genetic diversity. Population change is in direct relation to both genetic drift and gene flow. Genetic drift is defined as variation in the relative frequency of different genotypes in a small population. This variation is caused by two types of genetic drift also known as the Bottleneck effect and the Founders effect. A Bottleneck effect is typically caused by a random event such as hunting or a natural disaster which can significantly reduce a population. Although a population can gain back their original population size after a Bottleneck effect, their genes have been permanently affected, resulting in much less genetic variation than that of a population that was not affected by a Bottleneck effect. Examples of genetic diversity due to a Bottleneck effect include the lack of genetic variation due to intense hunting in the 1890 s within the Northern elephant seal population compared to the large Southern elephant seal population. A Founders effect occurs when individuals from a large population branch out and create a new colony. Due to the small population, the colony is more likely to have less genetic variation from the original population. An example of a Founders effect is the presence of Polydactyly ... • 47. Serve Of Fail Analysis Serve of Fail by Eggers brings up many interesting points as to why volunteering should be a requirement for college students. Colleges should create in their students a lifelong commitment to volunteering, he said while pointing out that college students are uniquely suited to volunteering. He stated that America would gain millions of volunteer hours and it would help colleges bridge the gap between the academic world and the world beyond it. I agree that colleges should make volunteering a requirements for students and I support Eggers argument, but have a different opinion on some of his points. Eggers brings up a point that colleges should instill in their students a lifelong commitment to volunteering. Given that all people are different, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The amount of college students in America make that number plausible. Those 10 hours a year could be put to good use by volunteering and doing something good for the community. Volunteering would give the students a better look at the real world . Volunteering could help colleges bridge the gap between the academic world and the world beyond it says Eggers. Volunteering could be done at many venues and by volunteering at work places or in a field they prefer to, students can get to know that field better. Acquiring that perspective will connect the students to that field of work allowing them to gain experience. Although I don t agree with Eggers that colleges should be responsible for instilling in their students a love for volunteering and that college students are suited to volunteering, he brings up some good points. Requiring college students to volunteer would give America millions of volunteer hours and will connect students to the workplace. I agree that required volunteering will be a benefit to American college students, and the country as a whole, therefore I support Eggers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This country has borders with Turkey to the north Iraq to the east Jordan to the south Israel to the south east and Lebanon and Mediterranean Sea to the west. Before 1516 Syria was part of Mamluk Empire centered in Egypt. In 1516 the Ottoman Sultan, Selim, conquered Syria, after defeating the Mamluk near Aleppo in Northern Syria. After sometimes he changed the whole Syria into one Eyalat named Sam (Syria). During the course of history the number of Eyalats was growing and in 1877. It had six provinces which were Aleppo Vilayet, Sanjak of Zor, Beirut Vilayet, Damascus vilaytat, Mutasarrifate of Mount Lebanon and Mutasarrifate of Jerusalem. Now the modern Syria which was established after First World War has fourteen governorates or Muhafazat. Each of the governorates is divided into sixty districts or Mantiqa, which are further divided into sub districts (Nahiya). Every Nahiya encompasses villages which are considered the smallest administrative unite. Each governorate is governed by a governor and is appointed by the ministry of interior and must gain the approval of the cabinet. The capital of the Syria is Damascus, which is located in the south of Syria. Syria is a diverse country and is consisted of different ethnic groups including Sunni 75% , Kurds 10 to 15% , Alawites (a shia sect) 8 to 15%, Christians 10%, Ismailis, (branch of the shia sect) comprise a small percentage of the population ...
