Argumentative Essay On Animal Testing
Animal testing has been known for the life changing breakthroughs but also for the alarming number
of deaths throughout the years. Many years have gone by since the first experiment on an animal but
when is the world going to realize that animals and humans are not the same.
Animal testing has been used in history for many years. It was traced all the way back to the early
Greece, also the first person realized the differences (more specific internal differences) between
animals and humans was Aristotle. Although animal testing was in the processed it wasn t really
known or popular until the nineteenth century. During 1865, a French physiologist named Claude
Bernard was called the father of experimental science. Bernard published a book called An
Introduction to the study of Experimental Medicine basically stated that the with the experiments on
animals it is a very good thing to keep them in harmful circumstances and deleterious substances
because it was good for man. With that being said some scientist simply did not give a care in the
world for the animals.
Animals are being tested on so that the humans will be safe but there have been situations that did not
work out so well for mankind. Thousands of infants deaths came about all because of animal testing
went wrong in Germany. A drug called Thalidomide was perfectly safe on mice, all because
Thalidomide was safe for mice the German government decided to distribute the drug to pregnant
women. When the mothers gave

Question 1
An External Orientation rather than an Inward Focus is useful in understanding the concept of value.
Describe Value Creation from the context of Low Cost Airlines (No Frill airlines). Compare it with
how the Indian Railways creates value.
Answer 1
Value creation is a term which cannot be defined / quantified specifically and measured accurately or
attributed a particular definition. It has a distinct and broad view and originates from the customers
point of view rather than monetary value which originates from the organizations financials. An
external orientation is important and useful to understand value rather than an inward focus.

Fast Food Stereotypes Targeting Children
Ah yes, the nostalgic fast food kid s meal. Nearly any child would gladly accept colorfully packaged
junk food, sugary drinks, and a new toy to play with. Of course, every desire sparks from some sort of
influential experience. In multiple cases, fast food industries take advantage of the media s popularity
to advertise products and coerce viewers to consume their products. Today s youth thrives on the
media, where fast food ads targeting them often appear. Capable of shaping adolescents decisions,
these commercials effectively persuade countless children. To reduce the influence it has on their
lives, fast food advertisement methods targeting children should have restrictions. These methods of
advertising aim to develop emotionally driven ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those suggesting that children should simply avoid commercials with a negative influence make
impractical expectations for adolescents. A report on television done by Nielsen Media Research
found, African American teens watch 40 percent more primetime TV and nearly twice as much
daytime TV as other teens....because they are more likely to live in places where it s unsafe to play in
the park or the street. They also receive less adult supervision, which means more opportunities for
corporate marketers to intrude on their lives (Ruskin). Regardless of race or specific age, any child
could choose not to participate in activities outdoors for various safety precautions. Expecting them to
turn away from advertisements narrows their activity choices. Changing the commercials as a whole
instead of an individual s lifestyle effectively encompasses adolescents in various situations. With
fewer commercials directed towards minors, children can truly utilize the mass media for
entertainment as opposed to their various surroundings. Whether the media places advertisements for
healthy snacks or fast food, studies have highlighted these ads influence on the dietary choices of

Community Policing Is The Most Commonly Adopted Police...
Community policing is the most commonly adopted police operational strategy in the world today
(Wisler and Onwudiwe, 2009) Would it be realistic to think that one officer could really change a
community? Community policing is an operation that involves the unity of citizens and both public
and private organizations working together cooperatively to identify and resolve issues that have a
mass effect on the safety of a specific area, neighborhood or city as a whole. Effective community
policing occurs when the various committees are set up at local level and implement their own
programs to prevent crime (Sutton Fisher, 1989) It is recognized by community based police
departments that police cannot effectively handle all issues alone and must partner with others who
have the same responsibility for resolving problems. Prevention, early identification, and timely
intervention to address problems before they become worse are important factors of community
policing. Individuals of communities want to feel that the police department is in touch with their
needs, concerns and values as well as a sense of security in the neighborhood. Once the community
and police department begin to develop a working relationship, both parties engage in the process of
goal sharing, resulting in a congruent relationship (Trojanowicz Dixon, 1974) Community policing
has many positive effects that aggressive policing can have on the relationship between the
community and police departments.

English Bill Of Rights
The Bill of Rights is a formal declaration of the legal and civil rights of the citizens. Also known as
the first ten amendments of the constitution, ratified in 1791 and offering freedoms like speech,

became the law of the land. The purpose of the Bill of Rights was a statement of basic individual
freedoms that refrain from the English Bill of Rights passed in 1689. A century later, 7 out of the 13 of
the newly independent United States of America adopted a bill of rights as an addition to their state

He was never afraid of the enemy because he knew God was with him, even when faced with
impossible takes, Such as when Saul offered David his Daughter to be his wife, and not a dowry in
exchange, but the lives of one hundred Philistines. David said he would double that, and he did,
claiming Michal, Saul s daughter, as his wife which Saul though he could trip him up with. Saul began
to so David as his enemy, and David just kept a good attitude and all the people loved him even more.
Most men, after being treated that poorly and almost killed by the man you were supposed to succeed,
would already have killed Saul, or at least had him killed instead of waiting on the Lord. David, on the
other hand, knew he would be king eventually and instead did something constructive and tried to
learn to be a better king for the day that he would be made king. He even gives the extremely valuable
sword of Goliath as a tithe to the Lord, And even though God does not exactly make it easy for him in
this next chapter of his life, he never curses or blames God; he knows He has a plan. David is a
shining example of what anyone should do when they pray for something and God answers Wait.
David, ironically, was best friends with Jonathan, Saul s son. Their souls were knit (1 Samuel 18:1) it
says, which meant they were bonded and very close, in fact they laid their lives down for each other
and risked a lot by staying friends. Jonathan

The Bible As Tool For Guide Them Throughout Their...
In the Seventh day Adventist church uses the Bible as tool to guide them throughout their Christian
lives. The Bible teaches beliefs that the Christian are expected to follow and apply to their lives. Along
with following these beliefs, Christians are expected to teach these beliefs as well, so that future
generations may carry them out and be a positive example of the church. One the beliefs is the trinity.
In Ephesians 4:4 6 it is written that There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one
hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism: one God and Father of all, who is over
all and through all and in all . There is one God, who in Himself is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;
the unity of the three; Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one (Deuteronomy 6:4). The
trinity is God, who is immortal, all knowing, and above all. God is all powerful, love, worth of our
worship, ever present, and who created everything. In 2 Corinthians 13:14 May the grace of the Lord
Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all , explaining
that the trinity, who carries multiple characteristics, is with us to guide us. Another belief is the
creation. In Isaiah 45: 18 it is written that For this is what the Lord says he who created the heaves, he
is God; he would fashion and made the earth; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he
did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited

Comparing The Clash Of The Titans And Atomic Theory
The Clash of the Titans and Atomic Theory
The first episode in BBC s Atom documentaries, The Clash of the Titans, narrated by nuclear physicist
Jim Al Khalili, greatly enhanced my understanding of atomic theory and the scientists who discovered
it. Through the use of clever analogies and detailed visuals, Al Khalili brilliantly explains not only the
basis of how several key theories were discovered, but also demonstrates the struggle of several
radical scientists to prove quantum theory to the traditionalist scientific community. The section on
atomic theory in the first unit contained topics I had always struggled in. From remembering which
scientist discovered what aspect, to the details of their experiments, the information never stuck with
me very well. After watching ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Rutherford bumped into his assistant Geiger who reported that nothing out of the ordinary had
occurred he asked him and his fellow students to check if any of the particles could also be seen on the
other side of the foil. For days, the students found nothing, until one afternoon it was discovered that
approximately one in eight thousand of the particles bounced back. These observations lead to
Rutherford s model of the atom, which in the documentary was related to a solar system in the way
that the electrons orbited the nucleus. This visual enhanced my understanding of the concept greatly,
as it clearly showed just how much of the atom was empty space. Al Khalili also described another
theoretical situation that illustrated that point even more effectively. If all of the empty space within
every atom in a human body was removed, he explained that the remaining mass, though it would
hold the same weight, would be smaller than a grain of salt. In fact, he attested that if this were to
happen to all humanity, all seven billion of us would be able to fit inside the size of an

Meenakandasamy s Poem
Touch is the mostelementary of all sensations which a human being has bestowed with; even when in
a meditationa religious man closes his eyes, ears and nose, it is the sense of touch which keeps him
connectedwith this world. This feeling of touch is perhaps he first of senses and no one can get rid of
it.The same feeling of touch is thought to be a taboo when it tries to transgress
thecompartmentalization of caste. Kandasamy describes it beautifully in her poem Touch. Kamala Das
says in her Forward to Meenakandasamy s poetry collection Touch.
Once again after long years of search I came into contact with the power of honest poetry when I was
reading Meena Kandasamy s anthology of verse. Revelations come to her frequently and prophecies
linger at her lips. Older by nearly half a century, I acknowledge the superiority of her poetic vision . . .

Meena s poetic mode ranges from the meditative to sensuous where the metaphysical subtlety of
arrivals and departures are ambivalent. A feature that impresses and ultimately convinces the readers is
the poet s readiness to allow conflicting voices to be heard from all contending perspectives. Her
poems pose a tension that reaches out to the reader, arousing in one a sense of need that will not be
satisfied: What will you say of your feeling
Living with a sister who terrorizes
Even manic depressions out of your mind? ( Sage in the Cubicle ) Kandasamy s poems portray such a
dreadful picture of varied agonies experienced by Dalits that her poems seem as an encyclopaedia of

What Is The Similarities Between A Streetcar Named Desire...
The truth is sometimes a very frightening thing. In the stories A Streetcar Named Desire and The Lady
with the Dog both seem to demonstrate dominant men trying to manipulate the women in their lives.
However, only one changed his toxic ways. The author demonstrates through symbolism and narrating
that. While Stanley from A Streetcar Named Desire and Dmitri Gurov from The Birthmark are
comparable in their blatant disrespect for women, they are distinctive concerning love and willingness
to develop. Furthermore, a comparison can be dissected in that both these men believed women were
inferior. One critical character from A Streetcar Named Desire, was Blanche. Blanche can t manage
certain occasions and conditions of her life. Also, instead of facing them, she withdraws into her very
own dreamland making. Blanche has had a really unpleasant life. Furthermore, withdrawing is her
method for dealing with stress. Stanley was an extremely limit, unpleasant, and definitive. He was not

Stanley s behavior was normal in that of an abuser. Wiiliams states, I want my down here. Stella,
Stella! (2175). The viciousness that he executes is thoroughly unusual to Blanche s understanding.

shocking to what extent it took for him to understand that women were more than just objects for him
to play with. Chekhov composes, And only now, when he was gray haired, had he fallen in love
properly, thoroughly, for the first time in his life (267). He has changed, started to see plainly.
Presently he isn t a cheater, he can be caring, true, and faithful. That s the major difference between
Stanley and Gurov. Stanley s character seemed to get even worse as the story progressed, while Gurov

Why The Wicked Don t Care About Preferences
It was once said that since outer space was practically infinite, there was no way that alternative
universes couldn t exist. They say that s where we came from, there are endless theories from all types
of viewpoints. Some call us godsends, some call us monsters. We call ourselves people. We didn t
mean for it to happen, most of us would have prefered if it didn t. The wicked don t care about
preferences, they don t care about anything besides themselves. They weren t thinking of anyone but
themselves when they cast that spell, they weren t thinking on anyone but themselves when they sent a
world that didn t belong to them into panic. It s been years since we arrived and so much has changed.
Those of us that came over didn t age, how could animations age? We were given human personas to
help blend in, some of us tried to construct lives knowing that we may never reach home again but,
ultimately we gave up. It s rather demotivating when you have to watch the people you care about
grow older while you never age. They changed our names, most of us. I m Cindy now, Mickey got
turned into Mick. They said that it s better this way so we don t attract unwanted attention to
ourselves. That s not hard, the country that we re trapped in has been reduced to rubble because of our
villains and the most magical place on Earth is the hell that we re forced to stay in. We got turned into
targets, we ve been branded as social outcasts and freaks, monsters; the marks on our forearms prove

Becoming A Business Owner Is One Complex Process Essay
Introduction
Becoming a business owner is one complex process one could undertake since aside from discovering
a person s self and entrepreneurship spirit, one needs to understand key business practices, importance
of business models and how to position a start up business in a competitive advantage.
This report is commissioned by J. Matthews with the aim of providing him practical guide on business
ownerships. This provides an overview of entry into business ownership, outlines different business
models employed by known companies, tailoring a specific business model including its advantages
for a new start up entrepreneur using case studies to gain valuable insights and better illustrate the
recommended model.
Specific analysis will cover a comparison and contrast of the different business models of entry into
entrepreneurship; detailed discussion of the recommended business model; and comparison of the
strengths and weaknesses of the chosen model against some established business using case examples.
The report has been compiled with reference to the business models as discussed by Osterwalder and
Pigneur, review of other business ownership literature, examining of some academic journals and
analysis of some case studies related to business and entrepreneurship. However, this will not cover
the specifics of the type of business Mr. Matthews would get into, instead would cite a business that is
relatively easy to set up.

the reserve component and National Guard. I have been active component my entire career, and I had
given little thought to the other side. After reading this, I agree that bringing the reserve and National
Guard components with us into this new realm of tactics may pose a daunting challenge. However,
operating in these conflicts that present us with complex threat rich environments should primarily be
the realm of the active component. It is probably best to leave these operations to the units that have
the time and resources to effectively train for them. I believe it is likely, that these force on force
operations will not last as long as the operations we re used to. Hopefully within weeks, our DOD
partners can secure air supremacy and alleviate the need for such extreme tactics and procedures. This
will allow other units to fly in support of other operations without the need to be extremely proficient
in the latest tactics. The National Guard and reserve components will be challenged to train to
proficiency, but hopefully in these types of conflicts they will be able to operate in their intended

How The Family Is Problematic From The Historical Perspective
Explain and discuss why the definition of the family is problematic from the historical perspective.
The family form I am going to be defining is the nuclear and with reference to the historical
perspective I will attempt to explain why this definition is problematic. Within this discussion I will
also explore whether the nuclear family is a natural family form or whether it is a socially constructed
one. According to Munice et al (1995; 10) the nuclear family is a small unit produced from the
conjugal heterosexual couple and their biological children. The nuclear family unit share a common
residence and are united by their ties of affection, common identity and support.
Historical research has shown that there have been many different family forms in the past that did not
necessarily fit the nuclear definition of the family. There are four main approaches to consider when
talking about the history of the family. These approaches help show the significant changes that have
occurred in the family . The four approaches are the: demographic, economic, sentiments and the legal
and institutional approaches. The demographic approach measures the statistical patterns of the family
. Statistics taken from parish records and censuses enable us to see how family households have
changed over time. The average household size has been relatively stable and stayed at 4.75 persons
per household between the sixteenth century and the end of the nineteenth century. These households

How Civil Liberties Are More Important Than Homeland Security
What is homeland security? The exact definition of homeland security is Precautions taken by the
government of specified country against terrorist attacks according to Dictionary.com. However, when

liberties, found in the Bill of Rights, are the people s fundamental rights; such as freedom of speech,

Essay On Sexually Transmitted Infection
My primary prevention topic is sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention in Clark County,

Many people in these groups have compounding barriers to treatment including cost, language
obstacles, mistrust of medical intervention, stigma, and lack of access to information. (Krieger N,
Waterman PD, Chen JT, et al., 2003)
Primary community and prevention resources include the Clark County Health Department Sexual
Health Clinic and private physicians. The Sexual Health Clinic is open to all; there is a $40 charge for
STI screenings. This fee will be placed on account if the patient does not have the funds at the time of
the visit. The clinic does not have a billing system, those with outstanding accounts will never receive
a bill. The clinic will give out prescriptions as needed for treatment. The cost of that medication will
be the responsibility of the patient. The patient that has health care insurance can seek care in the
private physician s office with no charge. Often the needed medications are covered by health
insurance.
The underlying causes of the sharp increase of STI s in Clark County include a combination of factors,
including multiple sexual partners, fewer STI prevention campaigns and increasingly popular dating
apps and websites that make casual sex easier. The constant flow of visitors into and out of Las Vegas
every year makes identify and notify patients of possible infections exposure impossible. According to
Dr. Patricia Kennel of University of Nevada School of Medicine Obstetrics Gynecology, there is

After the civil war, businesses began to become big, they grew significantly in size, number and

The Art Of Andrea Mantegna, The Rebirth Of Art
Andrea Mantegna is the first fully Renaissance artist of northern Italy who was very talented. He is
known for many of his works and is involved in many different artistic periods. His paintings are
beautiful and inspiring.
Mantegna was born in Italy in 1431 to a woodworker named Biagio Mantegna. He started his
mentorship with Francesco Squarcione at age eleven and showed miraculous promise. At age 17
Mantegna left Squarcione because of unfair profiting done by Squarcione on Mantegna s art.
Mantegna died on December 13, 1506 at around the age of 75, but not before marriage, children, and
many magnificent works of art.
The Italian Renaissance period took place towards the end of 14 century AD. The artist declared it the
rebirth of learning. The Renaissance period is greatly known for its artist, such as Leonardo da Vinci
and Michelangelo, and writer such as William Shakespeare.
One of Mantegna s most famous works is a piece titled Crucifixion . This iconic piece is a painting
done by Mantegna in 1458 for the high alter of San Zeno, Verona. The art work shows three men tied
or nailed to crucifixes. In the painting you can see people crying in anguish and people smiling with
glee. When I look at the painting the first thing I see is the three men on the crosses. I think Mantegna
wanted this to be the main focus point. The piece is very straight forward and easy to understand if
you know the story that is trying to be replicated. The art is about the crucifixion of Jesus

Era Of Good Feelings
The years following the War of 1812 and the Treaty of Ghent (1815 1825) have often been
distinguished as the Era of Good Feelings. It refers to the American s victory in the War of 1812 and is
generally marked as a period in political history that reflected a sense of national purpose and a desire
for unity among Americans in the aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars. The period s nickname suggests
that Monroe s years in presidency were marked by a spirit of nationalism, optimism, and goodwill.
Although, the era of good feelings emerged with cultural and economic Nationalism along with the
fading of the Federalist Party, peaceful foreign policies, and the implantation of the Monroe Doctrine,

Thomas Jefferson referred to the Missouri Compromise as the geographical line that would cause
more irritation in America every time an issue environmentally came about (6). Although the Missouri
compromise crated a new slave state in Missouri and a free one in Maine, this did not totally resolve
the conflicts about allowing slavery in certain parts of the nation. Jefferson feared that the nation s
perseverance would be affected due to this dividing line. Another contribution to the growth of
political sectionalism was that from 1820 to 1824, the nation disbanded into multiple political groups
(7). By the time the election of 1820 came to a close, James Monroe won most of the electoral votes,
which showed that the people politically agreed on one person to run their nation. But overtime areas
began to split into different groups; supporting different people with different ideas. Therefore, the
increase in sectionalism began to grow. With people having different views politically, the period after

Agent Orange is a herbicide that was used to defoliate the jungles, meaning the United States military

could not do so and expect to win. This caused them to resort to guerilla warfare in order to strike and

tribes were settled in Nebraska such as the Cheyenne, Arapaho, Pawnee, Ponca, Otoe, Kansa, Yankon

Although the Omaha Indian tribe did not have a lot of land like many other tribes, they still were a
well functioning tribe.
The Omaha tribe had a unique culture in which many people were involved and many traditions were
celebrated. The Omaha tribe often lived in settled villages of round earthen lodges in the winter and
fall. In the spring and summer, the Omaha families were able to move from camp to camp as they
followed buffalo herds. When these Omaha families moved from place to place they would live in
teepees, or tents, that would hide them from the buffalo. Within these households everyone had
responsibilities. Omaha men were hunters and they often went to war to protect their families. The
Omaha women were farmers and they also built and transported teepees. Most children in the Omaha

Humor in The Simpsons Essay
Humor in The Simpsons I and many other millions of people across the world believe that The
Simpson s is the best programme on television because it is funny in more ways then one. The
Simpson s uses the family lifestyle that many American TV shows have used over past (e.g. The Adam
s family, The Flintstones) but The Simpson s has proved it is a lot more popular because it uses many
more different forms of comedy which work with people from all ages. Slapstick comedy is where
someone gets hurt and you laugh but if you saw it happen in real life you d find it sick for example
when homer the father strangles his son Bart in many episodes it would be seen as child abuse in real

Where Bart, Lisa and their classmates get stranded on an island and they go through the same things
as they did in the book or film. Another great example is where Bart writes I can t see dead people on
the board in the opening credits which is a parody of The sixth sense which is a supernatural film
about ghosts and there is a memorable quote where the young boy says I see dead people . Another
example of Intertextuality is where they use the idea of the matrix, which is a sci fi film where the
actors dodge bullets and move in slow motion. And in the Simpson s Bart starts running up walls and
dodging bullets and moving in slow motion and is quite enjoyable to watch because its good seeing
the Simpson s doing it. Intertextuality is a sophisticated type of comedy because the older viewers are
more likely to grasp examples of these then younger viewers. Running gags are things you will
probably see in every episode and are funny every time you see them. Running gags are jokes that are
same jokes and actions that reappear every now and again. For example Homer always strangles his
son Bart whenever he s rude or annoys Homer usually by outsmarting him. Another running gag
which I find funny is whenever the Simpson s are watching a documentary or a film the same actor

Some of the time the gift is simply wisdom (Campbell). The quote from The Odyssey is supported by
the quote from the Hero s Journey because Athena, a goddess, is a supernatural element, and helps
Odysseus by providing him information about the situation at his palace. Athena helps Odysseus with
the means to complete his adventure by preparing him for his supreme ordeal.
Odysseus must overcome his ultimate challenge, the supreme ordeal, in order to finish his journey.
Odysseus has to kill the suitors that are trying to steal his wife and his kingdom. With Athena s help,
Odysseus disguises himself as a beggar to sneak into the castle. He then plans out an attack on the
suitors by trapping them in a room where he will kill them all off. After Odysseus successfully
completes the challenge to shoot an arrow through several axe handles, he reveals himself and takes
action on the suitors; he screams out You yellow dogs, you thought I d never make it home from the
land of Troy. You took my house to plunder (Homer, 610) Part 2. The Hero s Journey identifies this is
as the supreme ordeal as once the obstacle is overcome, the tension will be relieved... the worst is

Essay about B2B v. B2C Supply Chains
B2B v. B2C Supply Chains
Introduction In the age of technology business has come a long way and evolved tremendously. It used
to be that brick and mortar was the only way to open and run a business. However, the internet has
changed all of that now businesses can use technology to reach customers and other businesses all
over the world. This has caused a great surge in the world wide economy. In 2003 Business to
Business (B2B) commerce tipped the scales at $1.41 Trillion. This is in comparison to Business to
Consumer (B2C) that was $90.1 Billion (Naraine, R.2003). All of these purchases need to get

myriad of online services. These services can/ do include online banking, travel services, online

B2B vs. B2C Supply Chain The B2B and B2C supply chains might appear to be similar however, that
assumption can not be further from the truth. The main difference between the two is the amount of
channels a product must flow through before reaching the end user. With B2B there are less total
channels however they are greater in size when to compared to the greater amount of smaller channels
with B2C. (Marketing Profs, 2005) For example: A new car manufacturer is looking for tires to put on
their new line of cars. They would deal directly with a tire manufacturer to get their product. The
channels would simply be from the car manufacturer tire manufacturer raw supplies dealers. Now let s
look at an individual looking to book a flight and hotel in Las Vegas. The chain would be as follows,
individual online store airline airline staff hotel hotel staff. The next difference comes with technology
and that is integration, B2B needs to be integrated to their business partners software for smooth
resupply , billing, etc. This is an

Divine Providence In William Bradford s Of Plymouth...
In Of Plymouth Plantation, William Bradford writes of multiple acts of God s divine providence
acting on the Pilgrims during their journey to Virginia and the subsequent founding of Plymouth
Plantation. Bradford s portrayal of events he labels providence, such as the death of the lusty seaman,
the finding of the corn seeds by the exploring party, and the repulse of the Native American attack,
shows his belief that God acted through natural events and reveals aspects of Puritan theology and
thinking.
The first example of providence in all Bradford s journaling is the death of a lusty seaman. In short, a
sailor who was very obnoxious to the seasick pilgrims died in a desperate manner of a grievous
disease (Bradford, Of Plymouth Plantation). For interpreting Bradford s theology, the important part

According to Bradford, the lusty seaman dying of a horrible disease is not merely a random but just
occurrence. It had divine origins and intentions. Prescribing divine purpose to a disease is reflective of
the general pre scientific thought on which the puritan religion was based. The scriptures were not
only a moral code and a theological explanation of man s purpose and origin, but also an explanation
for phenomena like weather, disasters, and disease. This allows Bradford to fill in the gaps in his
understanding with God s unknowable will. Bradford again shows his views on how God exacts His
will when the pilgrims send out the first exploring party under Captain Standish. And here is to be
noted a special providence of God, and a great mercy to this poor people, that here they got seed to
plant them corn the next year (Bradford, Of Plymouth Plantation). The pilgrims took the seed from the
homes of Native Americans, who happened to be absent at the time.

Social Dominance Theory
A major point of social dominance theory is that all humans belong to various groups. There are
powerful groups that provide status and authority and there are powerless groups as children that are
easy targets of violence. Some adults sexually abuse a child to feel the power and control they don t
feel in their relationships with other adults. Sometimes, adults who have intimate sexual relationships
with other adults may sexually abuse children in moments of unusual stress. Other adults are primarily
sexually attracted to children and act impulsively when presented with an unexpected opportunity to
sexually abuse a child. Each person who sexually abuses a child is motivated by issues unique to that
individual. Some adults who sexually abuse children recognize that it is wrong and are deeply
repentant. Other adults believe their behavior is okay and that what they do shows their love for

children were, during their own childhoods, abandoned, abused sexually, physically, and/or

supremacy. The novel portrays the Syrian Christian family living in Ayemenem House, with the blind
old Mamachi, widow of the ambitious entomologist Pappachi presiding over it who is also the owner
of Paradise Pickles, a factory of her own. Mammachi has one son named Chacko and one daughter
named Ammu. Ammu leaves the house, goes to Calcutta and marries ... Show more content on

Baby Kochamma, though changes her religion to Roman Catholic, does not dare to challenge the
traditional ideas of love and marriage prevalent in post colonial India. As a young girl she fell in love
with the handsome Irish monk, Father Mulligan, who was in Kerala for a year on deputation from his
seminary in Madras. Father Mulligan was studying Hindu scriptures in order to denounce them
intelligently. Baby Kochamma was so blindly attracted to Father Mulligan that she had tried every
ways and means to seduce him. She converts to Roman Catholic against the wishes of her father, to set
close to Father Mulligan. She took her vows and entered in a convent in Madras as a trainee novice
with a strong hope that even this act will provide her with legitimate association with Father Mulligan.
But all her efforts and desires to be close to Father Mulligan went in vain. At this juncture she grew
restless and confused. She started writing puzzling letters to her parents. The letter very clearly
expresses the extreme sense of frustration in her mind. The defeats in her life have turned Baby
Kochamma into narcissist and sadist. Her pent up emotions brewing inside her made her a perverted
personality. She is totally a different person from the rest of the family. She is such a distorted
personality that she poisons Chacko and Mammachi against Ammu and twins. To a great extent she is
the main culprit in ruining the life of the

Descartes Meditations On First Philosophy
Descartes uses the dream experience and the idea of an evil genius to explain that our senses can
deceive us. Descartes explains that there is systematic doubt meaning our sense experiences such as
sight, smell, touch, taste, and hear can deceive us. However, Descartes explains how sight (vision) can
deceive us, such as our dreams. Descartes goes in deeper to explain his dream theory in the First
Mediation in the Meditations on First Philosophy by saying that there isn t a way for us to determine
whether the experiences in our dreams from those experiences when we are awake because they are
real that they are able to deceive us. This is because while we are dreaming, we usually are not aware
that we are dreaming. For example, dreams can deceive us by experiencing a visual sensation.
Imagine while you are dreaming of being fully clothes with a shirt, pants, and shoes. Descartes
explains the visual sensation of our dreams must have had influence from outside objects and that
those objects in our dreams do exist in the outside world. So, even though our dreams may look real it
is false. The main question comes into play, How do we know if we re not dreaming now? we don t he
explains because if everything in our dreams feel so real and everything right now feels right. How do
we know if we re not dreaming right now? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Descartes explains that God is perfect and something perfect has to be good, because God is good He
would not deceive us. God is powerful enough to deceive us about everything but God wouldn t. So if
God cannot deceive us, Descartes created the evil genius who would deceive us. The Evil Genius and
God are both extremely powerful and smart, however, the Evil Genius is bad and bad people are
capable and can deceive us. Descartes now have a reason to doubt contingent truths and necessary
truths (mathematics). However, Descartes cannot doubt The Cogito (I think) and that we are

An Organisation Organization Essay
Introduction
The nature of an organisation determines the different financial statements required to be completed
annually. This report will analyse three contrasting types of entities, in addition to the differences in
the annual reports produced.
From a not for profit charity, The Salvation Army, to a large New Zealand business, The Warehouse
Group and a Maori land trust, Waikato Tainui.
Users of the information
The objective of accounting reports are to provide external and internal users the information that
enables them to make improved finanical decisions. Therefore the users of the information are the
same for all entities, the types of information they are most concerned with is what differs. Investors,
creditors, employees, managers, owners and government agencies are the users of the financial
information.
The Salvation Army is a charity, this means that the investors will use the information provided by the
financial report to assess if the organisation is utilising the funds provided to assist the community.
Creditors will use the information to assess the credit worthiness of the charity to ensure the
organisation is able to pay for the goods and services. Managers will make decisions on how to
allocate the resources, employees and volunteers will use financial statements to ensure the charity is
accomplishing the mission to help people. Government agencies need this information to ensure that
the not for profit is complying with legislation.

That is the reason why Dr. Lambeu searched through nearly different six psychologists to help him but
all failed. Afterwards, he decides to ask his former college roommate, that is Sean, now a professor of
psychology in a community college. At first, the psychotherapy sessions do not succeed, however,
they end up being stubborn to each other that goes on for quite some time, waiting for the clock points
the last second of each sessions. Gradually, Will gives in, the two starts having some conversations. It
seems that Sean s patience is a good strategy to open Will up. Sean is trying to make concessions until
they get to discuss an artwork drawn by numbers that Sean s wife had done. Will finds out the sadness
from the paintings and keeps blaming that Sean couldn t get over from his wife s death instead of
sharing the sorrow with Sean. Suddenly, Sean attacks Will physically but he might still be able to keep
his temper, whereas, the other psychologists would probably get mad and refuse to no longer cure
him. This detail motivates Will to respect Sean more and truly shorten the distance between the two
men. Since then, the relationship between patient doctor begins to grow, but not fast, however, this
also demonstrates that Sean s therapy treatment is working well. When it comes to a hang out at a

Many years have gone by since the first experiment on an animal but when is the world going to realize that animals and humans are not the same. Animal testing has been used in history for many years. It was traced all the way back to the early Greece, also the first person realized the differences (more specific internal differences) between animals and humans was Aristotle. Although animal testing was in the processed it wasn t really known or popular until the nineteenth century. During 1865, a French physiologist named Claude Bernard was called the father of experimental science. Bernard published a book called An Introduction to the study of Experimental Medicine basically stated that the with the experiments on animals it is a very good thing to keep them in harmful circumstances and deleterious substances because it was good for man. With that being said some scientist simply did not give a care in the world for the animals. Community policing is the most commonly adopted police operational strategy in the world today (Wisler and Onwudiwe, 2009) Would it be realistic to think that one officer could really change a community? Community policing is an operation that involves the unity of citizens and both public and private organizations working together cooperatively to identify and resolve issues that have a mass effect on the safety of a specific area, neighborhood or city as a whole. Effective community policing occurs when the various committees are set up at local level and implement their own programs to prevent crime (Sutton Fisher, 1989) It is recognized by community based police departments that police cannot effectively handle all issues alone and must partner with others who have the same responsibility for resolving problems. Prevention, early identification, and timely intervention to address problems before they become worse are important factors of community policing. Individuals of communities want to feel that the police department is in touch with their needs, concerns and values as well as a sense of security in the neighborhood. Once the community and police department begin to develop a working relationship, both parties engage in the process of goal sharing, resulting in a congruent relationship (Trojanowicz Dixon, 1974) Community policing has many positive effects that aggressive policing can have on the relationship between the community and police departments. ... David said he would double that, and he did, claiming Michal, Saul s daughter, as his wife which Saul though he could trip him up with. Saul began to so David as his enemy, and David just kept a good attitude and all the people loved him even more. Most men, after being treated that poorly and almost killed by the man you were supposed to succeed, would already have killed Saul, or at least had him killed instead of waiting on the Lord. David, on the other hand, knew he would be king eventually and instead did something constructive and tried to learn to be a better king for the day that he would be made king. • 9. The Bible As Tool For Guide Them Throughout Their... In the Seventh day Adventist church uses the Bible as tool to guide them throughout their Christian lives. The Bible teaches beliefs that the Christian are expected to follow and apply to their lives. Along with following these beliefs, Christians are expected to teach these beliefs as well, so that future generations may carry them out and be a positive example of the church. One the beliefs is the trinity. In Ephesians 4:4 6 it is written that There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism: one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all . There is one God, who in Himself is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the unity of the three; Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one (Deuteronomy 6:4). The trinity is God, who is immortal, all knowing, and above all. God is all powerful, love, worth of our worship, ever present, and who created everything. In 2 Corinthians 13:14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all , explaining that the trinity, who carries multiple characteristics, is with us to guide us. Another belief is the creation. In Isaiah 45: 18 it is written that For this is what the Lord says he who created the heaves, he is God; he would fashion and made the earth; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited ... These observations lead to Rutherford s model of the atom, which in the documentary was related to a solar system in the way that the electrons orbited the nucleus. This visual enhanced my understanding of the concept greatly, as it clearly showed just how much of the atom was empty space. Al Khalili also described another theoretical situation that illustrated that point even more effectively. If all of the empty space within every atom in a human body was removed, he explained that the remaining mass, though it would hold the same weight, would be smaller than a grain of salt. The family form I am going to be defining is the nuclear and with reference to the historical perspective I will attempt to explain why this definition is problematic. Within this discussion I will also explore whether the nuclear family is a natural family form or whether it is a socially constructed one. According to Munice et al (1995; 10) the nuclear family is a small unit produced from the conjugal heterosexual couple and their biological children. The nuclear family unit share a common residence and are united by their ties of affection, common identity and support. Historical research has shown that there have been many different family forms in the past that did not necessarily fit the nuclear definition of the family. There are four main approaches to consider when talking about the history of the family. These approaches help show the significant changes that have occurred in the family . The four approaches are the: demographic, economic, sentiments and the legal and institutional approaches. The demographic approach measures the statistical patterns of the family . • 25. The Art Of Andrea Mantegna, The Rebirth Of Art Andrea Mantegna is the first fully Renaissance artist of northern Italy who was very talented. He is known for many of his works and is involved in many different artistic periods. His paintings are beautiful and inspiring. Mantegna was born in Italy in 1431 to a woodworker named Biagio Mantegna. He started his mentorship with Francesco Squarcione at age eleven and showed miraculous promise. At age 17 Mantegna left Squarcione because of unfair profiting done by Squarcione on Mantegna s art. Mantegna died on December 13, 1506 at around the age of 75, but not before marriage, children, and many magnificent works of art. The Italian Renaissance period took place towards the end of 14 century AD. The artist declared it the rebirth of learning. The Renaissance period is greatly known for its artist, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, and writer such as William Shakespeare. One of Mantegna s most famous works is a piece titled Crucifixion . This iconic piece is a painting done by Mantegna in 1458 for the high alter of San Zeno, Verona. The art work shows three men tied or nailed to crucifixes. In the painting you can see people crying in anguish and people smiling with glee. When I look at the painting the first thing I see is the three men on the crosses. I think Mantegna wanted this to be the main focus point. Jefferson feared that the nation s perseverance would be affected due to this dividing line. Another contribution to the growth of political sectionalism was that from 1820 to 1824, the nation disbanded into multiple political groups (7). By the time the election of 1820 came to a close, James Monroe won most of the electoral votes, which showed that the people politically agreed on one person to run their nation. Descartes goes in deeper to explain his dream theory in the First Mediation in the Meditations on First Philosophy by saying that there isn t a way for us to determine whether the experiences in our dreams from those experiences when we are awake because they are real that they are able to deceive us. This is because while we are dreaming, we usually are not aware that we are dreaming. For example, dreams can deceive us by experiencing a visual sensation. Imagine while you are dreaming of being fully clothes with a shirt, pants, and shoes. Descartes explains the visual sensation of our dreams must have had influence from outside objects and that those objects in our dreams do exist in the outside world.
