The First Camera On The World Was Invented By Alexander...
On May 8th 1840, the first camera on the world was invented by Alexander Wolcott. Since then,
people considered photography as an objective medium, which is always used to describe and
explain the reality and even considered for law enforcement. For example, pictures chalked on the
gate of suspect s house may serve as alibi. However, with current technology, people can easily
manipulate ( manipulate is underlined twice as topic specific vocabulary) pictures. (In class
writing, Oct.18.2016) People start to learn that a photograph can be carefully staged to express
certain opinions, thus we lost trust on photographyand instead begin to evaluate pictures. Court
also create different laws to check the admissibility of digital evidences. However, techniques and
strategies of editing images has gone either unexplained or mis explained because people are lack
of professional knowledge about photoshopping so that images are blindly doubted. In the rest of
this paper, I give three different examples and explanation to analyze how and why visuals were
edited.
Admit or not, photoshop is now closely connected to our daily life. Nowadays, teenagers have
become the most electronically connected generation of all time. As many Chinese may know,
social apps such as WeChat, Weibo and QQ have become the main means of communication for
teenagers. In 2015, 549 million active users are using WeChat, where images are posted and shared
millions of times a day. And while teens are lectured

The Destiny Of The Republic By Candice Millard
President James Garfield s tragic death is brought to new life in the book The Destiny of the
Republic. Author Candice Millard shows readers just how that very incident brought one nation
together. This being in the middle of the Gilded Age, at times it looked like the nation had
everything under its belt but in reality, people didn t see the corrupt happenings at that time.
Through poverty, war, a surprising turn in events, to downright failure in medicine, President
Garfield s life was a downward spiral and he wasn t even aware. As much as Garfield was
unaware of that, Americans at the time were unaware that they were slowly beginning to unite
over the ignorance of both Doctor Bliss and Charles Guiteau. Millard didn t just write a book of
a detailed and historic biography, she wrote somewhat effortlessly of the personal yet
challenging circumstances Garfield and his family were in and simply told a story. The author
really goes in depth and is interested in Garfield s poverty stricken family as a young boy
because this is one of the many reasons America adored him so much. As he lost his father,
worked endlessly to be able to attend college, became a teacher after just one year, and then going
onto congress, he rose up to become the best president the nation has ever had in that short amount
of time. These details portrayed about his upbringing, show people how remarkably significant and
hardworking this man was. Millard shows that Garfield knew he was brought up to make

Artist Public Appearance Agreement Essay
The topic I picked for this research paper is Artist Public Appearance Agreement . In this research
paper, I will be explaining the process leading up to retaining the artist for the performance or
appearance and what the agreement could entail. Such things as selecting the artist to the workings
of the contract with the artist or artist s manager.
First, we need to start from where agreement comes into place. As a concert producer, you need to
think about selecting a artist or artists for the performance. Also the date in which you wish to
have the artist make the appearance. You will need to pick a date that will give you enough time
to work out all the bugs and prepare accordingly for this event. You need to think of what... Show

Percentage fees ( fees plus percentage of net income) can be a bit more multifaceted. While flat
fees are relatively simple while a set figure will be the amount paid to the artist to matter what.
Many artist with their own contract will include such things as hospitality, a technical rider,
fees, payments, the way the payments should be made, and the policy regarding cancellations or
any type of rain dates. Frequently, the contract determination will be dependent on the budget
and its approval. This is where all percentage sums of net income come into play with the
indenture. The advantage of having a contract would be to avoid any form of arguments, legal
issues and so on that may arise. Working out all the details of the agreement can be helpful. This
way you will be able to spot light any problem issues that may come up. By doing this you will be
able to fix any problems before they occur, possibly ruining your event. Also any modification to a
contract should be reviewed n signed by both parties to ensure smoothness. Different states can also
have many different laws pertaining to performance agreements, and you must abide by all these
regulations or you run the risk of being shut down. California law stipulates that if the terms of a
contract last for more than one year, the contract must be in writing. A performance agreementВ–

Reinforcing Hit Rates with Utilization of Customer Stratification: A Review of the Literature

As the levels increase, the likelihood of the customer advocating the business s product/service
improves. Levels 3 5 are classified underneath the engaged customer and definitively, these types of
customers actively promote the product/service and increase an organization s opportunities for
long term growth and profit. Most importantly, how do we create engaged customers? The four key
strategic elements to capture engagement are customer value proposition, brand, internal culture
elements, and customer experience. (Alpert Roberts, 2010) The deliverance of a formidable value
proposition and superior customer experience are the two propelling factors in determining
customer engagement. Aligning these strategic elements with the organization s brand and internal
culture will have immense effects on engagement. First and foremost, an organization must retrieve
informative customer insight to develop a distinguishable value proposition. Secondly, through
brand advertising, effectively market the value proposition. Tertiary, with engaged employees
within the organization, delivering upon the promise guaranteed by the value proposition must be
adhered to. Lastly, fortify the cultural foundation to effectively deliver upon promises innate to the
value proposition. (Alpert and Roberts, 2010) Customer engagement and core customers

Is The Molecular Interaction Of CD8 + T Cells With...
The interaction of CD8+ T cells with peptide MHC complexes (pMHCs) is a key event in the
development of cell mediated immunity (Grakoui, 1999). MHC class I (MHC I) molecules
typically present 8 11 aa peptides derived predominantly from proteasomal degradation of
intracellular proteins, either self peptides or infection derived antigens (Blum, Wearsch, Cresswell,
2013). T cellreceptors (TCRs) from CD8+ T cells bind antigenic pMHC molecules, triggering a
downstream signaling cascade that leads to T cell activation, differentiation, and ultimately to
cytolysis of target cells presenting the same epitope (Hennecke Wiley, 2001). Vaccines and
immunotherapies for the treatment of infection and cancer seek to incorporate cytotoxic T cell...

Although computational tools have improved over the past decade, they have not been trained to
predict immunogenicity. The major limitation when using such prediction algorithms is the
presence of a significant number of binders from a given antigen that will never lead to an immune
response (Newell et al., 2013). Thus, immunogenic CTL epitopes fulfill additional criteria that go
beyond antigen processing and MHC binding.
Here, we sought to identify the biochemical criteria that define immunogenicity within the subset
of MHC I binding peptides. Using a curated repository of MHC I epitopes from the Immune
Epitope Database (IEDB) (Vita et al., 2009), we evaluated the biochemical properties of aas that
discriminate between immunogenic epitopes and non immunogenic self peptides. We found a
strong bias towards hydrophobicity in aa residues of immunogenic CTL epitopes that is highly
selective for exposed TCR contact residues. Using these criteria, we trained an artificial neural
network (ANN) model to identify immunogenic CTL epitopes from a data set and empirically
assessed our prediction model for 3 human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV 1) Gag protein variants
in a murine model of immunogenicity. We demonstrate the utility of this ANN

Essay On Teenage Moms
Being a mom is hard, and being a teenage mom is even harder. Most teen moms will drop out and
not continue further with their careers. By age 30, only 1.5 percent of women who had
pregnancies as a teenager have a college degree ( Teen Pregnancy Statistics ). Nowadays, schools
like Santa Ana College can help these young mothers attain a profession and raise their kids at the
same time. Now thanks to colleges like SAC, that percentage can increase, and young mothers can
strive to better themselves. Giving them supportis essential because it will give them a place
where they feel secure and supported; it will help them realize that it s never too late. In our
postcard for Santa Ana College, we use the strategy of support to attract teen moms.
We use three colors to show support for teen moms in college. The first color we picked is pink.
This color is used as the background of the postcard. We used pink as our background because it
is a color that signifies the huge amount of support mainly for women. For example, the color
pink represents support for women struggling with breast cancer. Pink is a sign of hope. It s a
positive color giving a sense that everything will be okay. We also picked pink because pink is
known to be a very feminine color. Ever since birth, girls are usually adorned in pink. Another
color we used was white. It is used in the lettering of the school, which is Santa Ana College .
These teen moms attending SAC are entering into a new chapter of their

The Theory Of Algebraic Semi Rings
ON BORNOLOGICAL SEMI RINGS
ANWAR N. IMRAN
Abstract. Our main focus in this work is to generalizes the theory of algebraic semi ring from the
algebraic setting to the framework of bornological set. More specifically, the concept of new
structure bornological semi ring BSR is introduced and the fundamental constructions in the class of
bornological semi rings are discussed. In particular, the existence of arbitrary projective limits and
arbitrary inductive limits of bornological semi ring is ensured. Additionally, the description of the
category of bornological semi rings is presented and we study the product, coproduct and fiber
product. Key words: Bornological Set, Bornological Ring.
1. Introduction
The notion of a bounded subset of (real or complex) topological vector space was introduces by
von Neamann. That motivated the definition and more general classes bounded sets and called
bornologies. A bornological space is a type of space in functional analysis and it is very useful to
solve problem of boundedness for set of elements and functions. That means, the main goal for
bornology is to determine the boundedness, location and sitting the boundary for any area. A
bornology on a set X is a family ОІ of subsets of X, such that;
Every singleton set fxg is in ОІ, that means, ОІ covering X ;
If A вЉ‚ B, B 2 ОІ then A 2 ОІ;

Each and every poem, passage, and novel as tone. Tone can set the mood and can emotions out of
the author s audience. It can portray the feelings of the character or the author. In the poems, I
Hear America Singing and I, Too Sing America, both has very translucent tones that differ from
each other. The poem I Hear America Singing has a tone that gives the poem a more rhapsodic and
ebullient. The poem s tone is more vibrant than the other poem, I,Too Sing America. According to
the poem, it portrayed the poem s tone to be more titillated by stating, ,Those of mechanics, each
one singing his as it should be blithe and strong. That gives the imagery of strong, enduranced men
that enjoy their jobs because they are singing while working.

San Luis Obispo High School Case Study
This issue is one that San Luis Obispo High School recently faced. San Luis Coastal Unified
School District has two high schools, San Luis Obispo High School (SLOHS), operating under a
traditional trimester schedule, and Morro Bay High School (MBHS), running on a semester long
block schedule. The district claimed that the current schedule at SLOHS was inequitable to all
students within the district, as students at SLOHS are given more opportunities to take a variety of
courses when compared to MBHS students. The district suggested that SLOHS propose an
alternative schedule (not the trimester) or accept the fallback traditional semester schedule for the
next schoolyear.
According to the district superintendent, the inequity was due to the

Racial Gap And Social Mobility
Talking of race or rather ethnicity in line with its effects in today s attainment of life chances and
opportunities by individuals for social mobility, we are prompted to conceptualize on matters
appertaining to civil rights of individuals in various fields ranging from job allocations, medical
attention, education, and distribution of resources. Social mobilityrefers to a tier in an open system
of social strata that involves movement of various categories of people in a societal set up and
majorly highlights issues to do with these people s status characteristics. The most pernicious
racial divide in the current world is in social mobility. This is in reference to the gap that coexists
between a child born white, and a child born black. Racial gaps today are rampant in various
sectors and thus pose a reflection of disproportionate representation of black families at the
lower scale of income appendage (de Souza Briggs, 37 42). The chances of moving up or down
the family income ladder by race and parent s quintile is unequal based on the skewed income
distribution by race. A society can be in a position of high absolute mobility and also low relative
mobility. The availability of at least some social mobility is key in providing conduits to greater
equality in societies with high social inequality.
Social mobility however can typically be hypothesized in terms of its direction and distance based
on the quantity of the movement. There is complexity in trying to analyze the

Catcher in the Rye Essay
J.D Salinger s fictional novel The Catcher in the Rye explores ideas of coming of age and
challenging society s morals through the life of Holden Caulfield, the young protagonist of the
novel. The term coming of age can be defined as when someone reaches an important stage in
development and is accepted by a large number of people. The word morals is concerned with the
principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction of right and wrong. Themes such as innocence,
isolation and youth reside in the novel, the audience is made aware of Caulfield s view on children
s innocence, the isolation he feels and how he perceives adults as phony .

She kept telling him to sit still and behave himself. She was about as kind hearted as a goddam

between the lady and a wolf, this then positions the reader to become aware of Caulfield s
feelings towards adults and the lack of respect . This sense of him having no respect for adults
challenges society s moral of respecting your elders is explored throughout the novel and
represented through Caulfield s character.
In conclusion, J. D Salinger explores ideas and concepts of what it is like to become of age and
how society s morals are challenged by adolescents and children. He uses themes such as the
innocence of children, the isolation of Caulfield and how the youth perceive adults to represent
these ideas. I believe that Salinger effectively explores the ideas of coming of age and challenging
society s morals within his novel by using these themes and allows myself as an individual to

Green Buildings And Its Effect On The Life Cycle Of A...
Green buildings will become one of the main factors to preserve our rapidly decaying
environment. There is not an easy way to define a green building. Essentially, a green building
is the effort of amplifying the positives and mitigate the negatives throughout the entire life cycle
of a building (Kriss, 2014). There are many definitions for green buildings, it is widely known as
the planning, design, construction, and operation of a building while taking into huge
considerations of energy use, water use, indoor air environment, materials used and the effect it
has on the site. The first green buildings dates back to as far as the 1970 s, when solar panels
went from experiments to reality. Green buildings were not as popular as they are todays due to
extremely high pricing. With technology rapidly growing, solar panels became cheaper and
cheaper, making it more affordable. This is the primary reason for the blooming of green
buildings today. A modern leading company named LEED, Leadership in energy and
environmental design, focuses primarily on new and effective ideas for environmentally friendly
buildings projects. With more than 60,000 commercial projects worldwide and 1.7 million square
feet certifying every day, they are one of the leading groups for green buildings. LEED has built
an entire green building industry, and will have a net worth of $248 billion (Kriss, 2014). Green

Gothic Architecture In The Renaissance
The Renaissance was the following period after the Middle ages in European history. This period
was the time of rebirth of the Roman and Greek education where people slowly began to turn back
and reflect their ancestral way of mind. The Europeans, whose lives were so centered on the
thought of their soul entering the afterlife and specifically Heaven has now diminished. They did
not do action just because they had to, but they decided to do action for the better quality of human
life. Europeans began to focus on the present, logic, reason, and the reality that even though they
still considered themselves as Christians, they did not act the same way as they did in the past. In
the Renaissance, most medieval idea was altered. The Catholic church in the medieval time was
using gothic architecture that was flourishing throughout Europe. It had the flying buttresses that
seemed to reach out into Heaven, but by the time the Renaissance came along, it had longed been
expired. The cathedrals built in this period was constructed with the classical style of the
Romanesque era. Therefore, the ones like the cathedral built by Brunelleschi in Florence does not
have the gothic flying buttresses, but instead, the Roman dome. Now, the cathedrals were built so
that God has seemed like He was amongst the people. The style of music was also influenced by
the time of the Renaissance. Music was no longer under the full control of the Church. Instead,
Europeans began to play

Disappearance Of Absence Of Malice, By Megan Carter

she told the whole world that he was being investigated. In today s media climate being

Argumentative Paper Euthanasia
Should Euthanasia be legalized?
Because of remarkable advances in medical technology pharmacology that can artificially prolong a
patient s life, the field of medical ethics has been confronted with a new controversy: the
legalization of euthanasia and physician assisted suicide. The word Euthanasia comes from the
Greek word for eus which means godly or well, and thanathos which literally means death (F.A.
Davis Company, 2001, p. 476). Before its contemporary use, the word euthanasia meant a peaceful,
quiet way to depart from earth. However, in modern times, this concept has sparked an incredible
controversy. Today, the word euthanasia also commonly, but wrongfully, used for the practices of
physician assisted suicide (PAS).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Literally the oath reads ...that I will exercise my art solely for the cure of my patients, and will
give no drug, perform no operation for a criminal purpose, even if solicited, far less suggested
(North, 2002). In addition, they assert, that euthanasia and PAS violates their principals of
nonmaleficence (the belief of not inflicting harm on an individual) (Beauchamp Childress, 1989, p.
194) and beneficence (positive acts of preventing harm, removing harm, and promoting good)
(1989, p. 121). Additionally they claim that such crucial end of life decisions can be reduced by
proper and suitable palliative care, and efficient pharmaceutical pain management (Hendin, 2004, p.
9). Opponents of euthanasia and PAS also maintain that the sanctity of life overrules the right to
personal freedom and choice. Religion and cultural background play a major role in those attitudes.
Some claim that the concept that an individual has a right to die is rejected on the basis that death
is inevitability, not a right (Ledger, 2007, p. 81). Others quote the six commandment of the
Christian faith that states thou shall not kill (murder) (Exodus 20:6). Christians believe that human
life is sacred. The Catechism of the Catholic Church number 2281 denounces the act of suicide as a
contradiction to the natural inclination of the human being to preserve and perpetuate his life
(Catholic Online, 2008). In

Examples Of Satire On Smoking
Satire It s not surprising that in this world you see at least one person a day smoking. I mean,
who doesn t love watching people rush to get lung cancer? Seeing one person just taking their
life away with something so stoppable, is so adorable, I mean what other qualities would you
look for in a man? I like mine fully addicted and ready to waste their life away. It s the best
religion that I must say so myself. In fact, I like that, people rely on something like religion to
lead them in the way they want to live their life. I personally believe in the smokies. The
smokinese are a group of people that worship nicotine. Id honestly love to be a part of that. I mean,
I love the smell of it in the air, the feeling of polluted air. Nothing gets better than that. In reality
smokingis the only relief to take away pain these days. I mean, what other reason would people
put something so horrible into their body if it didn t relieve any type of stress or good feeling. I
live for the day to see everyone to have lung cancer and killing themselves for just being
vulnerable about stress relief. I mean, people preach smoking nowadays. People wanna go back
to the way of smoking in a restaurant and people recommend it, it s a religion that s being created
without anyone understanding. As the smokinese people believe that the only way to live a happy

The Stereotypes Of The American Man
Introduction
Growing up in America, we have been subjected to countless acts of gender stereotypes on
television, newspapers, and advertisements. The American man is visualized as someone who is
carefree, muscular, and lacks any type of emotion. This fantastik advertisement s purpose is to
challenge these stereotypes and makes us reevaluate the way we look at men and women.
According to America s standards, women are supposed to prepare meals for their family along
with cleaning and other household duties. Ever since the first colonies were established in
America, men were seen as the backbone of it all. While the women were at home taking care of
the children and household duties such as cooking and cleaning, men were hard at work plowing ...

It demonstrates that this is a new era where men are just as responsible for doing these chores
along with women. Women no longer have to be the primary caretakers of the children; they are
able to receive degrees and obtain a job of their choosing. A female may even feel a sense of
empowerment upon looking at this ad, knowing that she is capable of anything.
This advertisement could also be aimed towards a group of males that enjoy activities that are seen
as feminine in our society. Unfortunately, our society molds men into these arrogant beings that
only care for football and women. If you do not comply with these current trends, then you are
considered an outcast or commonly known as girly. This ad is allowing men to express their true
identities, even though it goes against society s standards of normal. The man within the ad appears
to be breaking numerous gender stereotypes such as smiling, cooking, and dressing somewhat
feminine. So, what if a man shows happiness or the fact he loves to cook. At least he is
comfortable enough to show his true colors while so many hide behind a mask just to fit in.
Layout and Color Variation
This advertisement uses a very distinct layout and color variation that is key to attracting a

appears in these three films: The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne
Ultimatum. These iconic characters have many similarities and differences, but I m going to
explain to you why BLANK is better, based on their place in pop culture; their skills; such as
martial arts training, gadgets, and spy capabilities; friends/allies; and complexity as an overall
character. James Bourne s pop culture presence is significantly lacking compared to James Bond.
Bourne simply hasn t been around long enough to establish its place in the eyes of younger
viewers. James Bond has always been an iconic character in pop culture, however this new
iteration of Bond hasn t quite hit the mark of an icon as some other past Bonds have. Yet, every
time a new Bond movie comes out, audiences are ripe with anticipation. You just can t say the
same about Jason Bourne. Although Bourne is an American, the Brit has a more powerful and
iconic pop culture presence. The two spies have similar training in martial arts; both are very
skilled, and experienced fighters. However, Bourne s usage of objects around gives him

President Harry Truman, who wrote an article that endorse historical biographies for young
readers. Bradley follows through Truman s footstep and he is now praised for his realistic
portrayal of the life of his characters. In Flags of Our Fathers, Bradley s main focus derives from
an iconic photograph of the flag raising which was taken in Iwo Jima. The photograph consists of
six marines including his father John Bradley. This image create a great curiosity as Bradley was
determined to find out more about each of the men in the picture. It is ironic in a sense that even
though he is related to one of the men in the picture, he is completely unaware of the details
behind the photograph. Bradley explains that his father did not speak of the events that took place

Ullman s A Boy and a Manand Santo in Sam Selvon s The Mouth Organ do come from very

dreams.
The contrasts between the two characters are obvious. Rudi is a rugged boy from the mountains of
Switzerland. He shows courage and resourcefulness when he rescues Captain Winter from the
crevasse into which he has fallen. This rescue is not completely surprising because Rudi has been
brought up in a tradition of mountaineering. His father, killed in a climbing accident, was one of the
greatest mountain guides in Switzerland. Unlike Rudi, Santo comes from a Caribbean island and
has never seen snow. Also, in contrast with Rudi, Santo seems uninterested in athletics. He helps
his father work in the fields, but he does not seem to be especially fond of exercise.
On a deeper level, however, the two boys are very similar. Rudi s most important traits are his
curiosity about mountaineering and his faithfulness to his dream of

The Characteristics Of Lady Macbeth
The aggravating problem releases the darkness out of Macbeth and the feminine qualities of Lady
Macbeth and in this worsen situation it shows how differently reciprocate to the problem and how
it changed their character. In Act Three has a huge twist between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. As
Macbeth said to himself, To be thus is nothing;/ But to be safely thus (III.i.ll.52 52), Macbeth
becomes more aware of the situation than from the last two acts, wherein he s being careless and
letting Lady Macbeth tell him what to do. From this situation he became more straightforward and

From the first two act she was very pushy, persuasive, and optimistic even they were going
through a difficult situation. But in this act she is very different and she has no control anymore
over Macbeth. The reason is she s only good at planning things, but when things don t go well
with her plans, she became anxious and lost control of things. Lady Macbeth s feminine qualities
becomes visible and she acts more as a lady where she only comfort Macbeth throughout the
entire act three and telling him to sleep (rest; III.iv.ll.173). And especially Lady Macbeth only
acquired masculine qualities like cruelty from the first act because she asked it from evil spirits,
she is not a natural evil and in the end she can t contain and maintain those dark qualities.
Therefore for the conclusion: as the situation becomes out of control, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth
changes their character throughout act three. Macbeth becomes more bold on his actions and not
thinking twice about killing Banquo and Fleance. Unlike for Lady Macbeth she realized that out
of all what they had done, they are still not happy and now living in anxious that one day a big

John Doe Construction Failure
Picking the right contractor could mean the difference between an easy and enjoyable experience
and an endless sea of pain and suffering. Regardless of the size of the project, most people would
narrow down the requirements of a good contractor to three general categories: cost, quality, ability
to meet agreed upon time frames. For businesses, the only additional requirement is
communication. As it pains me to say, John Doe Construction failed to meet the basic expectations
above, it also managed to cost us significant amount of money due to delays. The names of the

Let s take a vacation to Brazil. I will be traveling to Brazil June 20th 24th through the 22nd. I
chose to travel to Brazil, because of the beautiful cities and nature that is located there. Also, I

drop below 68 degrees Fahrenheit. The climate is always hot and dry or humid and sticky.
Although, the Rainforests get very hot at around 104 degrees Fahrenheit or 40 degrees Celsius. We
will need to bring lots of water because of the hot temperatures. The only places that gets cold are
the southern mountainous regions. Sometimes temperatures there in the mountainous are as low as

The Church On Earth
For the Church on earth is endowed already with a sanctity that is real but imperfect. 1 Throughout
history, God has used many events, personalities and desicions to bring his pilgrim Church closer to
the fullness of sanctity He desires for it. Although throughout history the Church has found herself
confronted with controversy, pain and the imperfect nature of humanity, these moments often
brought opportunities for God to manifest Himself in ways that continue to impact Catholics today.
The Holy Spirit s intervention in dark times has allowed the Church to continue forward. It has

In this way, St. Paul practiced inculturation, which we continue to see around the world. There are
so many rich and beautiful articulations of the Catholic faith around the world, which not take
away from the universiality of the Church, but rather displays it. St. Paul encouraged this as he
founded churches in different areas, guiding them through the unique challenges of each culture.
This is shown in his letters, as each carries a special significance to those whom he directly
addressed (i.e. Letter to the Romans, Letter to the Hebrews). Even so, they still apply to us today.
His theological insights into the life and teachings of Christ are the foundation upon which many of
doctrines stand, including the Catholic understanding of suffering in union with Christ. Also, St.
Paul s own conversion from persecutor to apostle powerfully reminds us that it is never too late to

Good stress. Bad stress. The two are viewed as the Superman and Lex Luger archnemeses. Yet, is
good stress different from bad stress, and does each produce a different response in the human
body? Even doctors and psychologists take opposing views on the concept of good versus bad
stress. It is akin to the 1980s debate about good egg/bad egg as it pertained to cholesterol. That
debate still exists, as does the debate over how much stress, and what kind of stress is good or bad
for us.
One of the authoritative papers on stress, Physiology and Neurobiology of Stress and Adaptation:
Central Role of The Brain by Bruce S. McEwen, examines that question closely, and says that there
the two terms refer to the same physiological response, but that there are marked differences. In
other words, there is only stress, but short term responses can be adaptive, while prolonged
exposure or reaction to stress can be maladaptive and harmful.
He says that stress is a word used to describe challenges that are emotionally or

There are four main groups of reptiles, known as Crocodilians, Squamates, Tuataras, and Turtles.

body moisture, the reptilian scales consists of a protein called keratin. The scale structure of a
reptile are not individual like those of a fish, but are a continuous sheet of epidermal tissue. Hard
shelled eggs provide a protective environment in which the embryo can develop and enables
reptiles to lay their eggs in dry environments. On the other hand, amphibians must lay their eggs in
or near water. The reptilian skeleton differs from other vertebrates in many ways. For example,
reptiles have many bones in their lower jaw to enable them a greater bite mobility, but mammals
only have one bone in their lower jaw called the mandible. Mammals ears consist of three bones(the
malleus, incus, and stapes) while reptiles have just one bone(stapes). Reptiles also have only one
occipital condyle(a protrusion on the skull that forms a joint that enables movement of the head)
mammals on the other hand consist of two occipital condyles (Laura Klappenbach 2014).

Enron s business model was full of energy and power. Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling had raised Enronto

Feminine Mystique Analysis
In Friedan s The Feminine Mystique , she addresses the unspoken problem of women, especially
housewives, in the 1950 s and 60 s. Women were taught to be a mother and wife and to embrace
their femininity. They were also taught to reject academia and pity the neurotic, unfeminine,
unhappy women who wanted to be poets, physicists, or presidents. These women were consuming
what was given to them in pop culture. They dyed their hair blonde and ate chalk to lose weight.
The dream for women during this time was to be the perfect suburban housewife, which included a
good marriage, four children, and nice house in the suburbs.
Friedan states that if a woman had a problem, she knew something was wrong with either herself
or her marriage. Since no one else discussed their dissatisfaction with their wifely duties, the
women who felt this believed they were the only one in this situation and something must be
wrong with them. Friedan calls this the problem that has no name because there was a mass
number of women feeling this way, but no one could put a name to this condition. Women who had
this problem described it as feeling empty and incomplete, as if they didn t exist. Although many
women were feeling this way, the media still portrayed women as happy housewives, further
reinforcing that no other women were feeling that way. Friedan goes on to say that we can no
longer ignore this issue and lists the reasons people had to explain this phenomenon, such as the
loss of femininity, too much education, or the demands of domesticity. She refutes these points, and
at the end, Friedan says there is more behind the problem that has no name and, again, we can no
longer ignore it.
In the Barbara Smith reading, she starts out by talking about figuring out a name for her book
Home Girls , and how many black people who are threatened by feminism argue that you have left
the race and are no longer a part of the black community if you are a feminist. Smith states that
black feminism is a natural part of the black experience despite the separation it appears to have
from the black community. Black women, Smith says, have been reluctant to identify with the
liberation struggle due to a number of reasons, including the

Analysis Of Lines Composed A Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey
During the nineteenth century, both artists and writers deeply romanticized nature s natural
surroundings. This type of style emphasized the idea of nature s sympathy with humankind (Fiero,
215). In the poem Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey by British poet William
Wordsworth, he presents an emotional reflection of the redemptive power nature holds over him
(Fiero, 215). While artists and writers like Wordsworth expressed their appreciation towards nature,
British scientist Charles Darwinheld a harsher view about nature. Darwin developed the theory of
natural selectionwhich explains the survival of those creatures that are most suited to their
environment (Fiero, 211). Wordsworth s interpretation of nature may have been far more
uplifting than Darwins, but they both are keen and curious observers of nature (Fiero 212).
Wordsworth seems to be reminiscing his last visit to the Tintern Abbey. He is well aware of the
amount of the time that has passed by that he last visited, it is as though it has been a torture for
him being away so long. His vivid descriptions of the Tintern Abbey solely come from the
memory of his last visit. There is a sense of longing to be there by the way he is able to
remember the sound of the water rolling from their mountain springs or laying down under a
sycamore tree while taking in the view (Wordsworth, line 3 12). These memories he carries with

He smiled and turned the fancy in his mind. There was a thought. What did Time smell like? Like
dust and clocks and people (citation). Here, the narrator introduces the idea of time as a physical
object. This causes the reader to think introspectively about how time would appear if it could be
perceived in three dimensional space and what would happen if the lines between physical and
temporal were to blur. Bradbury continues to foreshadow the main event of the story: [T]onight
Tomas shoved a hand into the wind outside the truck tonight you could almost touch Time
(citation). Note how Bradbury interrupts Tomas thought to state his action of sticking a hand out
the window. This sudden break indicates a disconnect between concept and reality.
Finally, Tomas stops at his truck at the fateful location where he will come across the phantom
Martian. When the Martian first meets Tomas, they cannot understand each other. Then the Martian
uses his telepathic ability to instantly learn Tomas language: Tomas felt his head touched, but no
hand had touched him. There! said the Martian in English. That is better! Again there is a distortion
of what is physical, and what is not; Tomas feels a hand touch him when none did, and, in fact, he
cannot even touch the Martian physically. Instead the Martian has touched Tomas mind. This is

Comparing Christian Vs. Baptism
Comparing Lutheran vs Baptism Lutherans and Baptists are both Christians who are also
Protestants. They share many beliefs and have more similarities than differences. Both happen to be
reformists within the fold of Christianity. However, there are many different branches of Baptists
with differences between them too. In Lutheran, baptism is seen as a work of God and so even
infants are baptized. On the other hand, baptism is only for believers among Baptists, and this is
the reason why infants are not baptized in Baptists. Lutherans are the first of the major
denominations that broke away from the Roman Catholic Church in a bid to reform it from some
practices and doctrines that had no or little justification. The Christian community, though centered
in salvation through Jesus Christ, has been divided into sub sects, with some differences in their
teachings, doctrine and ceremonial celebrations. Two of the most commonly misconstrued sects
would be the Lutheran and the Baptism Churches. As mentioned, both religions believe in and
worship the same God, refer to the same Bible and hold communal gatherings to celebrate their
faith. The principal dissimilarity is their doctrines and preaching/teaching methods. There are
differences in their ceremonies, too, particularly in the manner in which Holy Communion is
administered and the over all formality of the worship service. The following comparison would
affirm that Lutherans are more sacramentarian in theology and worship, while

diameters of the three pipes are 0.03175m, 0.009525m and 0.0635m respectively with thickness of
each pipe as 1.5mm only. The experimental set up is composed of a test section, normal water
loop, cold water loop, hot water loop and temperaturemeasuring system. The water is used as
working fluid. The test section and the connections of piping system are designed such that parts
can be changed for different flow arrangement. The hot water loop consists of a storage tank, an
electric heater of 3000W immerged inside the storage tank to obtain the high temperature of hot
water, a pump and gate valve. The cold water loop consists of a storage tank, a pump and gate
valve. Ice cubes are used to cool down the temperature of tap water to nearly 130 C . The normal
water loop consists of storage tank, pump and gate valve. After the temperature of the water is
adjusted to the desired level, the normal, cold and hot water are pumped out of the storage tank

New Prophets And Its Impact On The Nation Of Israel,...
Many new prophets came about in books Isaiah through Malachi. The goal for the prophets was
to have Christ like characteristics and tell people the good news. God is the shepherd who
chooses his prophets to change the future. This was a time where the nation of Israel, Judah,
Jerusalem and Nineveh were not obeying God. However, God offered hope to the people by
exiling the nation and offering the people a new opportunity for a personal relationship. The
nations existed to be a disappointment to God because he had clearly informed the people to walk
humbly with him in order to experience the good life.
God had an unconditional love for his people, but he can still get angry when people oppose his
word. He offered forgiveness to the Israelites even when they turned against him to worship a
false god. Also, God did not ignore people who rebelled against him. He knew all the actions of
everyone. God was angry with the people of Nineveh because they had a strong rebellion against
him. There were people in the city who didn t believe in him and he casted a wrath. God is good
to the people who follow him, but he becomes bitter toward people who deliberately deny him as
the Father. The time period of Nineveh was a disappointment to God. There has been judged upon
nations, but forgiveness was offered. This is a reoccurring theme throughout the Old Testament. It
goes to show that God doesn t like when his people turn their backs against him, but he is willing
to forgive them if they

How To Write A Badass Motherfucker
The Badass MotherFucker
Badass Motherfucker stopped by his secretary s desk. I m going to lunch. Be back in an hour or so
homie.
Sir, you have an appointment with your CFO at one o clock. she said
I need you to push that back an hour. And I don t want to be bothered. Understand?
She smiled. Yes, sir. And the roses have been delivered.
Great. Thanks, Big tittied woman. He walked away from her desk.
Happy Anniversary, she said as he went out the door. Badass MotherFucker stepped onto the
elevator, nodding smugly to the riffraff. The young tech genius had been making arrangements to
privatize one of the four elevators for himself. Having to ride up and down fifty three floors with
the commoners was an affront to his dignity.

Life Of David Hale And Dead Man Walking
Mahatma Gandhi once said Truth stands, even if there is no public support. It is self sustained.
Life of David Gale directed by Alan Parker, and Dead Man Walking by Tim Robbins are both
films about redemption. The men in both films had no support from their society, until they
contacted someone to listen to their story. The films have different approaches on how to redeem
the main characters.Life of David Gale and Dead Man Walkinghave similarities and differences. In
Life of David Gale, David Gale was about a professor at the University of Boston. David was
accused of the rape and murder of his partner Constance Harraway, and was put on death row. In
reality David was completely innocent. David and Constance were protesters of the death
penalty. David also had a special bond with his son, whom he lost to his wife in a custody battle.
David did not want his son to know his father as a rapist and murderer,so when he was on death
row, he contacted a reporter named Bitsey Bloom.David shared his whole story with Bitsey,
which led Bitsey to believe that David was innocent.Bitsey was given anonymous evidence,
which proved David Gale s innocence, but she was too late. David Gale was executed, for no law
binding reason. David said in the film Death is a gift. Not afraid of death, David Gale sought
redemption in the eyes of his son.
Dead Man Walking was film based on a true story. Matthew Poncele was also accused of rape and
murder. Matthew was guilty and confessed to his

Summary Of The Rape Of Lucretia
In Livy s story the Rape of Lucretia, the writer illustrated prime examples on how gender is
represented in Roman society. The assumptions of both men and women roles within the Roman
Empire are defined and presented within this legend. The expectations of men, women, and honor
are identified to provide examples of the conventions about genderin Roman society. Men in the
legend were presented as being heavy drinkers and strong. On the other hand, women were
represented as being pure and weak in the eyes of men. The contrasting views of both men and
women help illustrate the assumptions about gender in Roman society defined in the story. In the
legend, men were shown to be heavy drinkers and vastly stronger compared to their female
counterpart.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lucretia was illustrated to be pure, faithful, and display honor to her husband, ...all impressed by
Lucretia s chaste honor (LVIII). On the other hand, Livy explained how weak and defenseless
women were during ancient Rome. At the same time, the author explained how men, such as
Sextus Tarquinius, could easily take advantage of women. Livy also expressed how honor was
vital for women to keep and maintain. The moment that Sextus viciously destroyed Lucretia s
honor by taking her chastity, illustrated how important honor was in the Roman empire. Lucretia
felt like she was in the wrong even though it was not her fault; however, the mindset that the
expectation of women should show honor and be faithful was extremely important in Roman
society. The overall assumption of women in Roman society to be pure, faithful, and display honor
was greatly exemplified in Livy s legend. The expectation for women to live up to their general
duties during this time was a huge focus in the Roman empire. Thus, Livy presented the
assumptions about women in Roman society to be weak compared to men, and should be faithful
and show honor towards her

Where To Move
At last! The decision to move has finally been made and after a long time of discussing where to
move to, my family and I have decided to move to California. We have been consulting about
where to move to for a while now but all the places that were talked about had been vetoed, so the
subject was always dropped and we continued on live on Cape Codin Massachusetts. After a long
winter, my mother had come into contact with one of her old friends who was living in California.
At first she had only jokingly mentioned the idea of moving with her friend. But soon the
conversation became serious and we began to actually plan everything out. My mother was
surprised at the amount of enthusiasm that my siblings and I had showed compared to other times....

The Sun Also Rises Relationships
Love and friendship are a major theme in the course of the book, The Sun Also Rises by Ernest
Hemingway. As an expatriate himself, Hemmingway paints a realistic picture of life in 1920s
Paris, France through his protagonist Jake Barnes. To show the importance of his characters, the
lost generation, Hemingway writes of Jake and his friends, the places he visits, and the events he
enjoys. Due to postwar times, the relationships between Jake and his lover Brett, his friend Bill,
and antagonist Robert enhance the plot and do not represent the typical healthy relationships. The
type of love portrayed between Jake and Brett is not the typical fairy tale story due to the
disillusioned state of the characters in a self indulgent time. The war affected

2008 Stock Market Crash
This research paper will talk about stock market crashes. How well do financial markets forecast
and impact the economy? The 3 main topics in the research paper are the crashes of 2008, 1987,
and 1929. The first topic for each crash will be about how much money was lost and what the
effect was on the people. The following will be talking why the crashes happened and the impact to
the economy. The paper will conclude with a recommendation on how to forecast stock market
crashes and government intervention that balances the risk and the need to invest for growth.
Every crash people lost thousands sometimes millions or billions. In 2008 they lost 10.2 trillion
dollars and it was the biggest crash. Although the market started to crash on October1st 2008,
the black week began on October 6th and lasted five trading sessions. During black week the
Dow Jones Industrial index would fall 1,874 points or 18.1%. The same week the S P500 fell
more than 20.1%. It became the biggest crash of all time. On to that the government add 250
billion to the banks so the banks won t collapse. There was trouble in the housing markets and

A Brief Note On Ford s Autonomous Car
Ford s Autonomous Car Most of the automotive companies believe that the next generation of
cars are going to be autonomous vehicles, but not all of them have the same opinion about it.
Some companies want to bring a fully autonomous car to reality, which wouldn t need any
human interaction to drive the car, while other ones are interested in driverless cars, which need
humans to drive them. Both autonomous and driverless concepts give cars more control over
themselves, and both aim to give more comfort for mankind, thus providing an easier life for
drivers and passengers, but the idea of an autonomous car on the roads raises some questions
about the safety of it and the responsibility over a car like this. A driverless car can have most of
the autonomous features, it just needs someone to drive it, and then the control would also be
from a person that would be more watchful and take responsibilities over the car. Ford is going to
launch an autonomous car. The company already has a semi autonomous one in market, the
Fusion hybrid, and they say that the car is automated, but by automated they mean that it is
capable of automated operation under the supervision of a human driver. Ford already have one
step in automated driving, and in five years they are going to bring two new innovative features
that are going to be essential for self driving cars; one is the fully automated parking that allows
the vehicle to park itself with no help from the driver, the driver just have

Arguments For Animal Testing
Testing on animals has been a thing for so many years now. In fact, many scientists believe it
should be done before human testing. But with it being around for so long, it has become a
subject of controversy. People around the world share their views and opinions about whether it s
really necessary, and some even question if the process is even ethical. While it is sad that animals
have to come to terrible fates, the process of animal testingis absolutely essential to test the safety of
products. Besides the obvious benefit, which is that animal testing saves lives, results are generated
quicker with animal testing, so diseases can be cured faster. Sometimes the illnesses cured can
affect animals too, so humans aren t the only ones benefited. Animals are also benefited by the
guidelines put in place by the Animal Welfare Act, which makes sure that animals are treated fairly
during the testing process. All in all animal testing is without a doubt crucial to test products that
save both human and animal lives.
Before putting a product out in the world scientist have to first make sure it is safe for people to
use. To do this they have to test it on a living being. As said before most scientists prefer to do
animal testing first. They are able to do this because animals and humans are very similar we have
the same organ systems that do the same things in roughly the same way. In the article, Animal
Testing Saves by Nicholas Clark, Clark quoted, animals are genetically

The Role Of Baseball In The 1970 s
One of the most important years for baseball in the 70s was 1974. Here are some examples of
why the 1974 baseball season is so important. During the 1974 season, baseball made history and
many of ways. The most memorable person was Hank Aaron, Aaron broke Babe Ruth s total
home run record (714). The pitcher that everyone was scared of was Nolan Ryan and the king of
steal that year was Lou Brock. Hank Aaron went into the 1974 season one shy of the home run
record. The Braves started the season on the road, so they did not play Aaron, the Braves wanted
him to get the record at home. The Braves got in trouble with the league and they made the Braves
put him in the lineup. In Aaron s first at bat, his first swing, homerun (1970s Sports History)....

Bowie Kuhn did not allow Andrews to be placed on the disabled list, and fined Finley for three
reasons (1970s Sports History). The 1970s had so much more important things to influence the
game but 1973 and 1974 were the 2 most important years. The coolest nickname ever is Mr.

Impacts Of Small Business
Small businesses, with large impacts. Many times when you hear the term small business, you
think of a small business that doesn t have the impact on lives such as global retailers. But in fact,
all of the small businesses in the United States make up to 60 80 percent of all U.S. jobs. Small

that is having the ability to free lance and be able to express your own ideas and creations however

North African Campaign Essay
When someone mentions World War Two the first thing that comes to mind is probably D Day or
Pearl Harbor or maybe even Berlin, while the North African Campaign is often forgotten. Three of
the notable campaigns that occurred in Africa at this time were Operation Torch, Operation
Tunisia, and the Western Desert Campaign; These campaigns took place from June 10th, 1940 to
May 13th, 1943. When talking about any war or great struggle, there are three things to know:
who were influential figures of this struggle, what methods or types of warfare they used, and
what were the important victories or defeats. During the second world war, waged on the second
largest continent in the world, there were people who literally changed the outcome of this great
struggle. Two of these people were: Bernard Montgomery fighting for the allies, and Erwin Rommel
, the infamous Desert Fox fighting for the axis.
Montgomery saw action in the First World War as a junior officer of the Royal Warwickshire
Regiment, however this ended prematurely when he was shot through the lung by a sniper. He
later returned to the front three years later in 1917 as a general staff officer before ending the war
as chief of staff of the 47th (2nd London) Division. During the Second World War he commanded
the British Eighth Army from August 1942 in the Western Desert until the final Allied victory in
Tunisia in May 1943. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. The First Camera On The World Was Invented By Alexander... On May 8th 1840, the first camera on the world was invented by Alexander Wolcott. Since then, people considered photography as an objective medium, which is always used to describe and explain the reality and even considered for law enforcement. For example, pictures chalked on the gate of suspect s house may serve as alibi. However, with current technology, people can easily manipulate ( manipulate is underlined twice as topic specific vocabulary) pictures. (In class writing, Oct.18.2016) People start to learn that a photograph can be carefully staged to express certain opinions, thus we lost trust on photographyand instead begin to evaluate pictures. Court also create different laws to check the admissibility of digital evidences. However, techniques and strategies of editing images has gone either unexplained or mis explained because people are lack of professional knowledge about photoshopping so that images are blindly doubted. In the rest of this paper, I give three different examples and explanation to analyze how and why visuals were edited. Admit or not, photoshop is now closely connected to our daily life. Nowadays, teenagers have become the most electronically connected generation of all time. As many Chinese may know, social apps such as WeChat, Weibo and QQ have become the main means of communication for teenagers. In 2015, 549 million active users are using WeChat, where images are posted and shared millions of times a day. And while teens are lectured ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Destiny Of The Republic By Candice Millard President James Garfield s tragic death is brought to new life in the book The Destiny of the Republic. Author Candice Millard shows readers just how that very incident brought one nation together. This being in the middle of the Gilded Age, at times it looked like the nation had everything under its belt but in reality, people didn t see the corrupt happenings at that time. Through poverty, war, a surprising turn in events, to downright failure in medicine, President Garfield s life was a downward spiral and he wasn t even aware. As much as Garfield was unaware of that, Americans at the time were unaware that they were slowly beginning to unite over the ignorance of both Doctor Bliss and Charles Guiteau. Millard didn t just write a book of a detailed and historic biography, she wrote somewhat effortlessly of the personal yet challenging circumstances Garfield and his family were in and simply told a story. The author really goes in depth and is interested in Garfield s poverty stricken family as a young boy because this is one of the many reasons America adored him so much. As he lost his father, worked endlessly to be able to attend college, became a teacher after just one year, and then going onto congress, he rose up to become the best president the nation has ever had in that short amount of time. These details portrayed about his upbringing, show people how remarkably significant and hardworking this man was. Millard shows that Garfield knew he was brought up to make ... In this research paper, I will be explaining the process leading up to retaining the artist for the performance or appearance and what the agreement could entail. Such things as selecting the artist to the workings of the contract with the artist or artist s manager. First, we need to start from where agreement comes into place. As a concert producer, you need to think about selecting a artist or artists for the performance. Also the date in which you wish to have the artist make the appearance. You will need to pick a date that will give you enough time to work out all the bugs and prepare accordingly for this event. You need to think of what... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Percentage fees ( fees plus percentage of net income) can be a bit more multifaceted. While flat fees are relatively simple while a set figure will be the amount paid to the artist to matter what. Many artist with their own contract will include such things as hospitality, a technical rider, fees, payments, the way the payments should be made, and the policy regarding cancellations or any type of rain dates. Frequently, the contract determination will be dependent on the budget and its approval. This is where all percentage sums of net income come into play with the indenture. The advantage of having a contract would be to avoid any form of arguments, legal issues and so on that may arise. Working out all the details of the agreement can be helpful. This way you will be able to spot light any problem issues that may come up. By doing this you will be able to fix any problems before they occur, possibly ruining your event. Also any modification to a contract should be reviewed n signed by both parties to ensure smoothness. Different states can also have many different laws pertaining to performance agreements, and you must abide by all these regulations or you run the risk of being shut down. Levels 3 5 are classified underneath the engaged customer and definitively, these types of customers actively promote the product/service and increase an organization s opportunities for long term growth and profit. Most importantly, how do we create engaged customers? The four key strategic elements to capture engagement are customer value proposition, brand, internal culture elements, and customer experience. (Alpert Roberts, 2010) The deliverance of a formidable value proposition and superior customer experience are the two propelling factors in determining customer engagement. Aligning these strategic elements with the organization s brand and internal culture will have immense effects on engagement. First and foremost, an organization must retrieve informative customer insight to develop a distinguishable value proposition. Secondly, through brand advertising, effectively market the value proposition. Tertiary, with engaged employees within the organization, delivering upon the promise guaranteed by the value proposition must be adhered to. Lastly, fortify the cultural foundation to effectively deliver upon promises innate to the value proposition. (Alpert and Roberts, 2010) Customer engagement and core customers ... • 6. Is The Molecular Interaction Of CD8 + T Cells With... The interaction of CD8+ T cells with peptide MHC complexes (pMHCs) is a key event in the development of cell mediated immunity (Grakoui, 1999). MHC class I (MHC I) molecules typically present 8 11 aa peptides derived predominantly from proteasomal degradation of intracellular proteins, either self peptides or infection derived antigens (Blum, Wearsch, Cresswell, 2013). T cellreceptors (TCRs) from CD8+ T cells bind antigenic pMHC molecules, triggering a downstream signaling cascade that leads to T cell activation, differentiation, and ultimately to cytolysis of target cells presenting the same epitope (Hennecke Wiley, 2001). Vaccines and immunotherapies for the treatment of infection and cancer seek to incorporate cytotoxic T cell... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although computational tools have improved over the past decade, they have not been trained to predict immunogenicity. The major limitation when using such prediction algorithms is the presence of a significant number of binders from a given antigen that will never lead to an immune response (Newell et al., 2013). Thus, immunogenic CTL epitopes fulfill additional criteria that go beyond antigen processing and MHC binding. Here, we sought to identify the biochemical criteria that define immunogenicity within the subset of MHC I binding peptides. Using a curated repository of MHC I epitopes from the Immune Epitope Database (IEDB) (Vita et al., 2009), we evaluated the biochemical properties of aas that discriminate between immunogenic epitopes and non immunogenic self peptides. We found a strong bias towards hydrophobicity in aa residues of immunogenic CTL epitopes that is highly selective for exposed TCR contact residues. Using these criteria, we trained an artificial neural network (ANN) model to identify immunogenic CTL epitopes from a data set and empirically assessed our prediction model for 3 human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV 1) Gag protein variants in a murine model of immunogenicity. We demonstrate the utility of this ANN ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Essay On Teenage Moms Being a mom is hard, and being a teenage mom is even harder. Most teen moms will drop out and not continue further with their careers. By age 30, only 1.5 percent of women who had pregnancies as a teenager have a college degree ( Teen Pregnancy Statistics ). Nowadays, schools like Santa Ana College can help these young mothers attain a profession and raise their kids at the same time. Now thanks to colleges like SAC, that percentage can increase, and young mothers can strive to better themselves. Giving them supportis essential because it will give them a place where they feel secure and supported; it will help them realize that it s never too late. In our postcard for Santa Ana College, we use the strategy of support to attract teen moms. We use three colors to show support for teen moms in college. The first color we picked is pink. This color is used as the background of the postcard. We used pink as our background because it is a color that signifies the huge amount of support mainly for women. For example, the color pink represents support for women struggling with breast cancer. Pink is a sign of hope. It s a positive color giving a sense that everything will be okay. We also picked pink because pink is known to be a very feminine color. Ever since birth, girls are usually adorned in pink. Another color we used was white. It is used in the lettering of the school, which is Santa Ana College . These teen moms attending SAC are entering into a new chapter of their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Theory Of Algebraic Semi Rings ON BORNOLOGICAL SEMI RINGS ANWAR N. IMRAN Abstract. Our main focus in this work is to generalizes the theory of algebraic semi ring from the algebraic setting to the framework of bornological set. More specifically, the concept of new structure bornological semi ring BSR is introduced and the fundamental constructions in the class of bornological semi rings are discussed. In particular, the existence of arbitrary projective limits and arbitrary inductive limits of bornological semi ring is ensured. Additionally, the description of the category of bornological semi rings is presented and we study the product, coproduct and fiber product. Key words: Bornological Set, Bornological Ring. 1. Introduction The notion of a bounded subset of (real or complex) topological vector space was introduces by von Neamann. That motivated the definition and more general classes bounded sets and called bornologies. A bornological space is a type of space in functional analysis and it is very useful to solve problem of boundedness for set of elements and functions. That means, the main goal for bornology is to determine the boundedness, location and sitting the boundary for any area. A bornology on a set X is a family ОІ of subsets of X, such that; Every singleton set fxg is in ОІ, that means, ОІ covering X ; If A вЉ‚ B, B 2 ОІ then A 2 ОІ; ОІ is stable under finite union. The elements of ОІ are called bounded subsets of X. Let X and Y be two bornological sets, a map f : X ! Y is called bounded if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

San Luis Coastal Unified School District has two high schools, San Luis Obispo High School (SLOHS), operating under a traditional trimester schedule, and Morro Bay High School (MBHS), running on a semester long block schedule. The district claimed that the current schedule at SLOHS was inequitable to all students within the district, as students at SLOHS are given more opportunities to take a variety of courses when compared to MBHS students. The district suggested that SLOHS propose an alternative schedule (not the trimester) or accept the fallback traditional semester schedule for the next schoolyear. • 12. Racial Gap And Social Mobility Talking of race or rather ethnicity in line with its effects in today s attainment of life chances and opportunities by individuals for social mobility, we are prompted to conceptualize on matters appertaining to civil rights of individuals in various fields ranging from job allocations, medical attention, education, and distribution of resources. Social mobilityrefers to a tier in an open system of social strata that involves movement of various categories of people in a societal set up and majorly highlights issues to do with these people s status characteristics. The most pernicious racial divide in the current world is in social mobility. This is in reference to the gap that coexists between a child born white, and a child born black. Racial gaps today are rampant in various sectors and thus pose a reflection of disproportionate representation of black families at the lower scale of income appendage (de Souza Briggs, 37 42). The chances of moving up or down the family income ladder by race and parent s quintile is unequal based on the skewed income distribution by race. A society can be in a position of high absolute mobility and also low relative mobility. The availability of at least some social mobility is key in providing conduits to greater equality in societies with high social inequality. There is not an easy way to define a green building. Essentially, a green building is the effort of amplifying the positives and mitigate the negatives throughout the entire life cycle of a building (Kriss, 2014). There are many definitions for green buildings, it is widely known as the planning, design, construction, and operation of a building while taking into huge considerations of energy use, water use, indoor air environment, materials used and the effect it has on the site. The first green buildings dates back to as far as the 1970 s, when solar panels went from experiments to reality. Green buildings were not as popular as they are todays due to extremely high pricing. • 17. Gothic Architecture In The Renaissance The Renaissance was the following period after the Middle ages in European history. This period was the time of rebirth of the Roman and Greek education where people slowly began to turn back and reflect their ancestral way of mind. The Europeans, whose lives were so centered on the thought of their soul entering the afterlife and specifically Heaven has now diminished. They did not do action just because they had to, but they decided to do action for the better quality of human life. Europeans began to focus on the present, logic, reason, and the reality that even though they still considered themselves as Christians, they did not act the same way as they did in the past. In the Renaissance, most medieval idea was altered. The Catholic church in the medieval time was using gothic architecture that was flourishing throughout Europe. It had the flying buttresses that seemed to reach out into Heaven, but by the time the Renaissance came along, it had longed been expired. The cathedrals built in this period was constructed with the classical style of the Romanesque era. Therefore, the ones like the cathedral built by Brunelleschi in Florence does not have the gothic flying buttresses, but instead, the Roman dome. Because of remarkable advances in medical technology pharmacology that can artificially prolong a patient s life, the field of medical ethics has been confronted with a new controversy: the legalization of euthanasia and physician assisted suicide. Additionally they claim that such crucial end of life decisions can be reduced by proper and suitable palliative care, and efficient pharmaceutical pain management (Hendin, 2004, p. 9). Opponents of euthanasia and PAS also maintain that the sanctity of life overrules the right to personal freedom and choice. Religion and cultural background play a major role in those attitudes. Some claim that the concept that an individual has a right to die is rejected on the basis that death is inevitability, not a right (Ledger, 2007, p. 81). Others quote the six commandment of the Christian faith that states thou shall not kill (murder) (Exodus 20:6). Christians believe that human life is sacred. Bad stress. The two are viewed as the Superman and Lex Luger archnemeses. Yet, is good stress different from bad stress, and does each produce a different response in the human body? Even doctors and psychologists take opposing views on the concept of good versus bad stress. It is akin to the 1980s debate about good egg/bad egg as it pertained to cholesterol. That debate still exists, as does the debate over how much stress, and what kind of stress is good or bad for us. One of the authoritative papers on stress, Physiology and Neurobiology of Stress and Adaptation: Central Role of The Brain by Bruce S. McEwen, examines that question closely, and says that there the two terms refer to the same physiological response, but that there are marked differences. In other words, there is only stress, but short term responses can be adaptive, while prolonged exposure or reaction to stress can be maladaptive and harmful. Mammals ears consist of three bones(the malleus, incus, and stapes) while reptiles have just one bone(stapes). Reptiles also have only one occipital condyle(a protrusion on the skull that forms a joint that enables movement of the head) mammals on the other hand consist of two occipital condyles (Laura Klappenbach 2014). • 40. Feminine Mystique Analysis In Friedan s The Feminine Mystique , she addresses the unspoken problem of women, especially housewives, in the 1950 s and 60 s. Women were taught to be a mother and wife and to embrace their femininity. They were also taught to reject academia and pity the neurotic, unfeminine, unhappy women who wanted to be poets, physicists, or presidents. These women were consuming what was given to them in pop culture. They dyed their hair blonde and ate chalk to lose weight. The dream for women during this time was to be the perfect suburban housewife, which included a good marriage, four children, and nice house in the suburbs. Friedan states that if a woman had a problem, she knew something was wrong with either herself or her marriage. Since no one else discussed their dissatisfaction with their wifely duties, the women who felt this believed they were the only one in this situation and something must be wrong with them. Friedan calls this the problem that has no name because there was a mass number of women feeling this way, but no one could put a name to this condition. Women who had this problem described it as feeling empty and incomplete, as if they didn t exist. Although many women were feeling this way, the media still portrayed women as happy housewives, further reinforcing that no other women were feeling that way. Friedan goes on to say that we can no longer ignore this issue and lists the reasons people had to explain this phenomenon, such as the loss of femininity, too much education, or the demands of domesticity. She refutes these points, and at the end, Friedan says there is more behind the problem that has no name and, again, we can no longer ignore it. In the Barbara Smith reading, she starts out by talking about figuring out a name for her book Home Girls , and how many black people who are threatened by feminism argue that you have left the race and are no longer a part of the black community if you are a feminist. Smith states that black feminism is a natural part of the black experience despite the separation it appears to have from the black community. Black women, Smith says, have been reluctant to identify with the liberation struggle due to a number of reasons, including the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Analysis Of Lines Composed A Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey During the nineteenth century, both artists and writers deeply romanticized nature s natural surroundings. This type of style emphasized the idea of nature s sympathy with humankind (Fiero, 215). In the poem Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey by British poet William Wordsworth, he presents an emotional reflection of the redemptive power nature holds over him (Fiero, 215). While artists and writers like Wordsworth expressed their appreciation towards nature, British scientist Charles Darwinheld a harsher view about nature. Darwin developed the theory of natural selectionwhich explains the survival of those creatures that are most suited to their environment (Fiero, 211). Wordsworth s interpretation of nature may have been far more uplifting than Darwins, but they both are keen and curious observers of nature (Fiero 212). Wordsworth seems to be reminiscing his last visit to the Tintern Abbey. He is well aware of the amount of the time that has passed by that he last visited, it is as though it has been a torture for him being away so long. His vivid descriptions of the Tintern Abbey solely come from the memory of his last visit. There is a sense of longing to be there by the way he is able to remember the sound of the water rolling from their mountain springs or laying down under a sycamore tree while taking in the view (Wordsworth, line 3 12). They share many beliefs and have more similarities than differences. Both happen to be reformists within the fold of Christianity. However, there are many different branches of Baptists with differences between them too. In Lutheran, baptism is seen as a work of God and so even infants are baptized. On the other hand, baptism is only for believers among Baptists, and this is the reason why infants are not baptized in Baptists. Lutherans are the first of the major denominations that broke away from the Roman Catholic Church in a bid to reform it from some practices and doctrines that had no or little justification. The Christian community, though centered in salvation through Jesus Christ, has been divided into sub sects, with some differences in their teachings, doctrine and ceremonial celebrations. Two of the most commonly misconstrued sects would be the Lutheran and the Baptism Churches. As mentioned, both religions believe in and worship the same God, refer to the same Bible and hold communal gatherings to celebrate their faith. The principal dissimilarity is their doctrines and preaching/teaching methods. North African Campaign Essay When someone mentions World War Two the first thing that comes to mind is probably D Day or Pearl Harbor or maybe even Berlin, while the North African Campaign is often forgotten. Three of the notable campaigns that occurred in Africa at this time were Operation Torch, Operation Tunisia, and the Western Desert Campaign; These campaigns took place from June 10th, 1940 to May 13th, 1943. Montgomery saw action in the First World War as a junior officer of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, however this ended prematurely when he was shot through the lung by a sniper. He later returned to the front three years later in 1917 as a general staff officer before ending the war as chief of staff of the 47th (2nd London) Division. During the Second World War he commanded the British Eighth Army from August 1942 in the Western Desert until the final Allied victory in Tunisia in May 1943. ...
