The Importance Of Propaganda On Modern Society
Propaganda has influenced modern society in such a way that most individuals are oblivious to
its role in the modern way of life. Infact, without propaganda society would function in a
drastically different way because of the newfound lack of outside influence. Propaganda, or the
use of various mediums to persuade or influence rational thought, has been utilized to shape
human civilization since it first began. From, as document A states, the Ancient Greeks use of
theater performances and religious festivals to mold the opinions of men, to the Spanish
Armada use of false information to gain the support of the spanish citizens, and finally to Yarn
Adams and Tom Paine who used literature to rally colonists against the British Empire,
propaganda has performed vital roles in the evolution of modern civilization. Therefore, it can
be said that propaganda has been used as a language of power to spread ideas and beliefs,
promote and build strength, and to control the action of men. Propaganda is a very valuable tool
in the process of spreading ideas and beliefs throughout a population because of its powerful and
lasting effects on those who are subjected to it. Therefore, if one utilizes such a tool properly, one
can effectively convert the beliefs of entire populations. Events proving such is true can be seen in
the Middle East where terrorist organizations such as the Taliban gain power. As Sharmeen Obaid
Chinoy discusses, They [the Taliban] teach the children the Koran, which

Rhetorical Analysis Of Blood, Toil, Tears, And Sweat
On May 13th, 1940, newly elected Prime Minister Winston Churchill delivered a historic speech
titled Blood, Toil, Tears, and Sweat . He discusses the necessity of an empowered Great Britain
in the shadow of World War II; as well as his confidence within the strength of the British people.
This speech s lasting impact was reinforced by it s usage of the three appeals: ethos, logos, and
pathos. These appeals address the ethical, logical, and emotional ideas and undertones within a
piece. Churchill s iconic speech truly encapsulates these three appeals within every word.
Ethos is considered to be the ethical aspect of a piece. In other words: is the information and
speaker reputable and trustworthy? This appeal is clearly demonstrated within Blood, Toil, Tears,
and Sweat . For example, Churchill states
In this crisis I hope I may be pardoned if I do not address the House at any length today. I hope
that any of my friends and colleagues, or former colleagues, who are affected by the political
reconstruction, will make allowance, all allowance, for any lack of ceremony ... Show more content

He demonstrates a sense of respect for those listening to his word and those who he works with,
which creates trust in the audience and gives a reputable air to his words. Logos refers to the
logic of a work, addressing if the piece is able to be understood and makes sense. This appeal is
demonstrated in the line Let that be realized; no survival for the British Empire, no survival for all
that the British Empire has stood for (Churchill). Churchill frankly states that without action, the
British Empire and its values will crumble in the face of Nazi Germany. This clear and conscience
delivery of Britain s fate is logical and able to be understood. So in turn, the appeal logos can be

The Argument Between Pro-Life And Abortion
The argument between pro life and pro choice gets more and more difficult all the time because
everyone has their own opinion on the discussion. Not everyone feels the same about this subject
not only because it is their opinion but because it is in their beliefs and/or religion. I am a pro
choice believer because I feel it is most definitely the woman s choice, however, I don t feel that
abortionis a kind of birth control. I can understand certain circumstances because believe me there
are plenty but for a girl or woman to use abortion as a resort they use often, that to me is murder.
I do respect others and their beliefs towards this subject because that is the kind of person I am
but many do not have the same opinion as me and can be rude and nasty about the situation. To
be someone who is pro life you believe that abortion is not an option. To say that someone is pro
life is to say that the person believes that the government has an obligation to preserve all human
life, regardless of intent, viability, or quality of life concerns (Head, 2015). A pro life person
believes that one should not commit murder or abortion regarding the unborn life that is in a
woman. I don t feel that the government should have a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be pro choice is to believe that individuals have unlimited autonomy with respect to their own
reproductive systems as long as they do not breach the autonomy of others (Head, 2015).
According to Lydia Saad of Gallup.com, half of Americans consider themselves pro choice on
abortion, surpassing the 44% who identify as pro life. Over the decades people have come around
to the idea that for the right circumstances abortion may not be such a problem subject like it used
to be. This is the first time since 2008 that the pro choice position has had a statistically significant
lead in Americans abortion views (Saad,

Oozing Hegemonic Masculinity in the Super Bowl Commercials
Many of us watch the Super Bowl to check out what we expect to be the most innovative and
entertaining commercials of the year. Given the grand stage on which these commercials air, it is
important that we analyze them in their proper context. Remember, this is a sporting event, one in
which only men are allowed to participate (as athletes/coaches), where violent collisions are
celebrated, and where most of the audience is male. Considering these gendered parameters, we
should not be surprised that many of the 2012 Super Bowl commercials ooze hegemonic
masculinity. In this post David Mayeda explores how a masculinity can be used to opress men and
women alike.
Back in 1987, Raewyn Connell coined the term hegemonic masculinity in a seminal text, Gender
Power. Hegemonic masculinity refers to the dominant form of masculinity that exists within a
particular culture. Relative to this ever changing, idealized form of masculinity are different
subordinated masculinities those within a culture that do not live up to the so called masculine
gold standard. Put simply, there are real men and then there are all other men.
In watching the 2012 Super Bowl commercials, we can see versions of hegemonic masculinity
demonstrated. Perhaps the most vivid version was seen in H M s Super Bowl ad, utilizing soccer
(futbol) star, David Beckham:
Tattooed, rugged, athletic, showcasing a lean musculature and menacing glare, Beckham embodies
a hegemonic masculinity that would surely resonate

Agricultural Export Commodities ( Stokes Howden 2010 )
The wine industry in Australia is one of the most highly valued agricultural export commodities
(Stokes Howden 2010). Viticulture is an agricultural sector that is closely associated with climate
as the production of unique wine is reliant upon specific combinations of climate, soils and
landscape to create particular styles (Stokes Howden 2010; Webb et al. 2008). Changes in climate
have potential to adversely affect the quality of winegrape production. Thus, climate change is set
to become a major challenge for the wineindustry, and contest the adaptive capability of the
industry. As a result of the increasing awareness of the potential consequences of significant climate
variability, it is essential that the industry explores possible strategies to enable adaptation to change.
The Margaret River wine region
The Margaret River wine region of Western Australia is highly regarded as a premium wine region
in Australia (Jones et al. 2010). The production of high quality wines, however, means that the
region has potential to suffer from modifications in quality by the slightest climatic changes. Thus,
climate change has potential to adversely impact the viticultural industry. At present, the Margaret
River wine region experiences a Mediterranean style climate, with factors of temperature, soil
quality and humidity all well suited to high quality wine production. The economic impact of the
Margaret River wine industry is approximately an annual $250 million. Climate

Good Neighbor Nextdoor Problem Analysis
The Good Neighbor Nextdoor program seeks to address two problems facing communities across
America Today. The first problem is the shortage of doctors in rural and undesirable communities.
The second problem is the prevalence of blight and vacant housing in many of the same
communities suffering from a shortage of doctors. Both of these problems have solutions, by
offering citizenship to foreign doctors willing to move into communities having both a shortage of
doctors and a surplus of vacant housing. The final benefit offered by the Good Neighbor Nextdoor
program will be in the long term economic growth within the communitycaused by the opening of a

Pride and Prejudice and A Midsummer Night s Dream
First Impressions Revisited
The course of true love never did run smooth.
William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night s Dream
Pride and Prejudice first appeared between 1796 and 1797 under the title, First Impressions . At
first, the novel was written anonymously; however, after Jane Austen s death, the novel became
publicly known to people. The novel itself is a comedy of manners set in a quiet and charming
rural England, between 1796 and 1813; to be exact, Pride and Prejudice is set amidst Napoleonic
Wars, dating from 1797 up to 1815. In Austen s words, the novel was light and bright and
sparkling . The quote from William Shakespeare best describes the love stories of Jane Bennet and
Charles Bingley; Elizabeth Bennet and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Darcy, the antagonist turned protagonist in the novel. His pride blinds his judgment of people.
Darcy judges people through their manners hence, because of his dislike in Elizabeth s family
manners; he separated Charles and Jane away from each other, leaving Elizabeth s sister
heartbroken. Austen s books are written with satirical humor best represented by Mr. Collins and
Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Mr. Collins is a comical and pompous, snobbish clergyman living at
Hunsford parsonage near Rosings, the home of Lady Catherine de Bourgh. According to the
English law, since Mr. Bennet had no male children to inherit the state, Mr. Collins is the rightful
heir of the estate since he is a distant relative of Mr. Bennet. Mr. Collins is a funny character in
the novel due to his extremely long speeches and silly formalities of no clear meaning. He is very
proud of Lady Catherine and her generosity in giving him the Hunsford parsonage.
A fortunate chance had recommended him to Lady Catherine de Bourgh when the living of
Hunsford was vacant; and the respect which he had felt for her high rank, and his veneration for
her as his patroness, mingling with very good opinion of himself and his authority as a clergyman,
made him altogether a mixture of pride and obsequiousness, self importance and humility. (Austen
and Jennings 67) Mr. Collins long speeches do not represent the truth in general; it is his only
means of making people admire him.

This culture is often called individualism. Moreover, Hofstede (1980), noted that power distance
in a culture, which means the difference between the lowest and highest member. Highest member
refer to a person or a group always makes the decision; people who always have input is belong to
lowest member. For example, Korean drama considers family oriented stories in which father has
the power in the family, and other members of family usually defer to him. However, in Western
society, parents cultivate their child to be more creative, and give them more freedom to choose
their future education and career. Therefore, In Western culture, a child can make such decisions
himself, while, in Korean culture, children are more likely to defer to their father. Futhurmoer,
Western modernity and Asian traditions has formed striking comparison. In 18 century, Western
societies had rised the evolution of post modernity that suggests the end of original culture, art,
subject and history. The production of post modernity includes the internet, cars, digital computers
and so on (Venn Featherstone, 2006, p.462). Modernity refers a new way of lifestyle and social
system. Asian traditions advocate the beliefs, rituals, morals, values and customers in which human
being have been passed down from their ancestors (O Shannessy Minett, 2008, p.33). Especially,
Taoism and Confucianism have had a profound impact on Asian socities, such

Criticism Of The Virgin Mary
Virgin Mary is a very influential woman in Christianity, particularly in the Roman Catholic sect.
She is an example of what all women should strive to become. Historically, Mary has been viewed
as a controversial figure in feminist culture. However, the Virgin Mary should truly be considered a
feminist icon.
Many may argue that Mary is a passive character, whose only use was as a vessel. There is,
however, substantial evidence that this is completely untrue. There are many different scenarios in
the Bible that highlight Mary s strength. For example, one of the first encounters with Mary shows
readers her resilience.
In the sixth month of Elizabeth s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in
Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The
virgin s name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you who are highly
favored! The Lord is with you.
29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30
But the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will
conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called
the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he
will reign over Jacob s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.
34 How will this be, Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin?
35 The angel answered,

Traditional Family In America
In America the concept of the traditional nuclear family is forced on the population by means of
the media, social media, and the educational systems. The idea or concept of this is ideal family
is a fallacy and no longer is a norm compared to the 1950 s. Only 48.4 percent of households have a
married couple; 20 percent of all households contain married couples who have children living with
them (Caruso Timmermann, 2013). This change means that the traditional familystructure has
evolved. America has a high divorcerate of an estimated 40 to 50 percent. Castelloe states, that

When children have issues at home, these issues affect other aspects of life, such as, education,
mental health, and social abilities. Tendencies that are different from social norms, may manifest
themselves in a student s education and grades. Parents recklessly shove children into relationships,
forcing them to assimilate. This may be very problematic and detrimental to a child s mental and
emotional health. Often, parents do not admit to needing help with parenting and resolving issues.
A common belief is that problems will work themselves out and it is just a matter of adjustment,
this is usually false.
All individuals within a blended family, must contend with ethical, gender, economic, cultural, and
educational issues, for example. Deep seeded resentment, perceived unfair treatment, and lack of
attention, may create instability and affect the entire family unit. These stresses can be too much to

Goldilocks Research Synthesis Essay
To juxtapose this argument made by the REH, the next key factor is something called the
habitable zone. The habitable zone is defined as a region within which Earth like planets might
possess the moderate environmental conditions for advanced life to form (von Bloh). Many of
these new planets discovered are gas giants with atmospheres too turbulent to support life, so these
planets habitable zone is said to be low or nonexistent. The existence of Earthlike planets, however,
is just as common as the existence of these extreme planets. Traits of the habitable zone, such as a

These conditions can range from the temperature of the universe, the background radiation
leftover from the Big Bang, and the amount of elements located in the universe. It is a well
known fact that organic molecules are common within the universe. As stated before, galaxies
consist of billions of stars and then multiply that by the amount of galaxies in the universe; one
can see why there are a plethora of stars. When stars die, the ones that explode, through a process
called a supernova, release enough heavy elements into space that are essential for life to begin.
Vilenkin states that the shockwave of these explosions are enough to propel these heavier
elements into areas of dense clouds that have the potential to form new binary systems of a star
and a planet. This new planet now has the chance to form life. But, the REH claims that the
destructive nature of space is more prone to killing off any budding life than to help life develop.
There is galactic cannibalism, which is when two galaxies collide and ripe each other apart with
the force of gravity, or even stars dying can be a catalyst to the end of extraterrestrial life forming.
According to Vilekin and other astronomers, the universe has been cooling down, albeit slowly
and over the course of billions of years; but this seems to be beneficial to the potential existence of
other life. This cooling universe has become

The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) and Mesa State University (MSU) are both some of

succeed. They also have in state tuition which makes them cheaper than most colleges. These
colleges stood out to me because of how well they fit my needs of having a short distance college

I desire along with respectable baseball programs. When it comes to differences, living
accommodations would be quite different between UNC and MSU. Following those lines, the
graduation rates are also significantly different between the two. Even though MSU is a credible
college, the graduation rate and distance from home could cause problems during daily life. For
those reasons, UNC would make a better fit for me.
When choosing which college to attend, living accommodations are a big thing to consider. If I

products, customers, branches or other cost items. (USAID, 2007) Product costing is also referred
to as assigning costs to inventory and production based on the expenses that go into producing or
buying inventory. It is an important process for manufacturers that helps improves management
information on products and helps managers and the board members to take key decisions about
product design, delivery mechanisms, and especially pricing. (Lacoma, 2013)
There are several benefits of having a product costing done. These include Accuracy, Project

The main success factors for Toyota from this model seems to be keeping less inventory at hand so
that production can take place for any product. These parts are then replenished when they are used

Computer integrated manufacturing (CIM): Is a manufacturing philosophy in which the functions
for the organization, from product definition to the disposition of the final product, are designed
and integrated to achieve clearly enunciated organizational goals, most efficiently and effectively.
The coordination of the functions is achieved using computer, communication, and information
technologies. (UYSAL, 2010) According to the U.S. National Research Council, it improves
production productivity by 40 to 70 percent, decreases design costs by 15 to 30 percent, reduces
overall lead time by 20 to 60 percent, and cut work in process inventory by 30 to 60 percent as
well as enhances engineering productivity and quality. These statistics tells us that how important
CIM is nowadays for most of the manufacturing industries. (Koch) The importance of CIM in
financing can be the software side where most of the data is fed in the computer and all the
financing and accounting part today is done with the help of computers. It also helps in forecasting

Franz Liszt Research Paper
Franz Liszt was a virtuoso pianist, composer and conductor. He contributed greatly to the harmonic
expressiveness of the 19th century. He was a leader in the art of the symphonic poem, and using
techniques such as thematic writing and cyclic form. His imagination was fueled by Niccolo
Paganini, Frederic Chopin, and Hector Berlioz. He took ideas and traits from each of these
individuals and used them to create his masterpieces . Because of his great achievement in the
symphonic poem form he is still recognized today.
Franz growing up
Franz Liszt, was born in Raiding Hungary on October 22, 1811 and died in Bayreuth Germany on
July 31 1886. He was deeply influenced by his father in many ways including religion and music.

Franz Liszt met Niccolo Paganini in March of 1831. After he the long illness and depression that
overtook him he became interested in his career as a virtuoso once again and left the idea of
becoming a priest. He was so interested in Paganini s work that he decided to use some of Paganini
s ideas in his piano music. Paganini didn t use characteristic polyphonic. The compositions lacked
consonant melody and harmony.
Also around this time he met Frederic Chopin, who used a poetic style in his compositions. They
became acquaintances. Chopin was more conservative than Liszt and used a prettier style in his
music than Liszt. After a while the two composers became uneasy friends and in that time Liszt
took Chopin s idea for the character piece and further developed his idea of the symphonic poem.
Franz as a composer
Franz Liszt was one of the first individuals to experiment with form. He also used theme to unify
an entire work and liked playing suits without pause instead of in single movements. His piano
compositions mirror his talent as a virtuosic piano player, yet he wrote pieces that could also be
performed by many pianists. He also wrote many nationalist compositions and while they are also
amazing his symphonic poem takes the

Characteristics Of The Chesapeake And New England
With the discovery of the New World in 1492, came the English in hopes of starting again in a new
land. Through violence and other vile tactics, the English were able to remove most of the natives
from the land and start creating their new societies. While this rebuilding occurred, the English split
into two distinctive groups known as The Chesapeake and New England. In documents from both
colonies, set in the 1600 s, we will examine how the same group of people can have completely
different social characteristics, economics, and religion.
In the two regions, social structures completely differed from each other because they had
different goals for how their territory would function. In New England, the structure was almost
a complete copy of the one they had back home. Document B suggest this when it lists the
travelers of those who would be arriving in New England. The Document implies that complete
families along with their servants and herders came to New England with the idea to contain
their tight knit community way of living. They wanted everyone to be comfortable in this new
space that ultimately was there to serve as a religious sanctuary that spread the word of god.
Unlike the New England citizens who aspired to be connected the people from The Chesapeake
lived individual work focused life styles. In Document C it describes the people traveling to The
Chesapeake as most men who were at the working age. This implies that The Chesapeake citizens

Marine mammals have held a residency on this Earth for millions of years with ancestors dating
back to prehistoric times. They are not only a part of our history, but also a part of myth and
legends that have been told throughout generations and various cultures. There are three major
groups of marine mammals found around the world. Marine mammals include at least 117 species
within the orders Carnivora, Sirenia, and Cetacea (Thurman, 2014). Today, these often gentle and
intelligent creatures are faced with many obstacles and challenges to survive and adapt. While
adaptation has been a natural process for all species through time and evolution, these sea
creatures are being forced to adapt at a faster rate in the last century. This has been largely due to
an increase of human fishing, ocean pollution, and climate change. Sadly, for some, these
adjustments in their natural environment are creating changes faster than they can evolve or
survive. Figure 1 Evolution Sea mammals have evolved from land animals to marine animals
from their former land ancestors going back as far as the Paleocene Age which occurred 65 million

Iqbal Masih As A Hero In Francesco DAdamos
Iqbal Masih, the hero that heroes look up to. Heroes are not people that have adequate, if not
more, amount of money and are known worldwide, but instead they are people that are looked
up to as role models or inspire people to do good things. They are admired for their strength, not
just physically, but also mentally. In Francesco D Adamos, Iqbal, Iqbal Masih is the protagonist
of the novel and he is shown as the redeemer of child labor. He is truly a heroas he possesses all the
skills that any hero needs. He has shown his great potential in many cases where he is able to
free innocent and vulnerable children from child labor. He was certainly able to send Pakistan s
child laborers a clear message to stop child labor. Without a doubt he was definitely a hero.
Analyzing the wonderful Iqbal book, this essay will talk about many instances when Iqbal showed
his bravery and heroism providing examples and proving that Iqbal is a hero.
Iqbal was not a kind of person that showed off his bravery and heroism. Bragging wasn t a word

suffering from the pitiful, sorrowful crime, child labor. Iqbal was shown as the son of Eshan

terms of stopping child labor. There were multiple instances in which Iqbal Masih showed his

Kwame Anthony Appiah Cosmopolitanism
Utilizing a wide variety of subjects, including literature, history, and philosophy as well as his own
personal experiences, Kwame Anthony Appiah through his novel Cosmopolitanism: Ethics in a
World of Strangers, seeks to explain the similarities and differences of the people that inhabit the
world. Prehistoric hunters and gatherers formed close knit communities which were founded upon
survival, humanity, in turn, was shaped by those experiences. Centuries later, those close knit
communities have expanded into kingdoms, cities, nation states, and world order. Appiah states
that, cosmopolitanismbegins with the simple idea that in the human community, as in national
communities, we need to develop habits of coexistence: conversation in its older meaning, of living
together, association (Appiah, xix). Here, Appiah reminds humans that we have been living beside
each other since the beginning of time. However, even though the world is expanding; it is also
shrinking, metaphorically, as a consequence of globalization. Individuals only in the past couple of
centuries have had the ability to affect each other indirectly through shared resources and common
enemies. Neither nationality, gender, nor state boundaries, have moral status with respect to
questions of justice. Despite the reasons to value our relationships with our local citizens these
reasons do not justify inequalities in the well being of people inhabiting different geographical
territories.

The goal of this framework is not only to reduce the number of lives lost as a result of various
disasters but also to reduce the economic, social and environmental losses to communities. Nurses
and midwives are viewed by WHO (2007) as being essential in response to a disaster, but also
notes that the lack of training provided for dealing with disasters as a major flaw in the disaster and
emergency response worldwide. Therefore, it is essential that all nurses and midwives are trained in
disaster nursing and meet these competencies just like any other competencies they are required to
meet, in order to be effective when disaster strikes. Geebie and Qureshi (2002) explain how they
believe that disaster nursing requires individuals to use their nursing knowledge and skills in
difficult situations with limited resources and ever changing conditions. During these difficult
times it is essential that nurses can adapt their practice to be disaster specific in order to minimise
life threatening damage and health hazards caused by the disaster. Jennings Sanders, Frisch amp;
Wing (2005) demonstrate that nurses, other healthcare professionals, emergency services, and both
non governmental and governmental organizations must work in collaboration during these
situations in order for the best outcome to prevail. It is essential in a disaster situation that nurses
involved in the care of patients must be able to shift their

Mountain Men from the North American Rock Mountains
Mountain men were most common in the North American Rocky Mountains from about 1810
through the 1880s (with a peak population in the early 1840s). Approximately 3,000 mountain
men ranged the mountains between 1820 and 1840, the peak beaver harvesting period. While
there were many free trappers, most mountain men were employed by major fur companies. The
life of a company man was almost militarized. The men had mess groups, hunted and trapped
inbrigades and always reported to the head of the trapping party. This man was called a boosway ,
a bastardization of the French term bourgeoisie. He was the leader of the brigade and the head
trader.
Donald Mackenzie, representing the North West Company, held a Rendezvous in the Boise
RiverValley in 1819.[2] The rendezvous system was later implemented by William Henry Ashley of
theRocky Mountain Fur Company, whose company representatives would haul supplies to specific
mountain locations in the spring, engage in trading with trappers, and bring pelts back to
communities on the Missouri and Mississippi rivers in the fall. Ashley sold his business to the
outfit of Jackson and Sublette. He continued to earn revenue by selling that firm their supplies. This
system of rendezvous with trappers continued when other firms, particularly the American Fur
Company owned by John Jacob Astor, entered the field.
The annual rendezvous was often held at Horse Creek on the Green River, now called the Upper
Green River Rendezvous Site, near present day

Chapter 1 Corinthians
Chapter sixteen of 1 Corinthians is a freshener of countless items. There appear to be a few final
issues with which Paul wishes to deal. Two of these include the collection for the Jerusalem
church and the return of Apollos to Corinth. The second part of verse six may be seen as an
attempt to meet the Corinthian desire to give Paul some financial support. He will not accept
support for preaching there or an offer of investment that would make him someone s in house

Having these boundaries would help him from violating his plan to offer the gospel for free. Paul

Christ is the ultimate sin. I think one thing Paul would encourage the Corinthian church, and
even us, to do is think before you speak or act in certain ways. Paul believes that the Christian

The doctrine of Christ s divinity has been challenged, attacked and denied by religious skeptics and

Theologians have used the biblical evidence to coin the term hypostatic union to accurately
capture both the fully divine and fully human nature of Jesus joined in one Person. Proof of
Christ s divinity is shown throughout the Bible many times. Malachi 3:1 3, John 1:1, John 8:58,
Colossians 1:19, Hebrews 1:1 5, and Revelation 1:1 are just a few of the prominent passages that
authenticate the deity of Jesus Christ. In the book Fundamentals of the Faith, Peter Kreeft says
another tool for properly utilizing apologetics are creeds. Creeds are a formal statement of
Christian beliefs. He also argues that the creeds specify our destiny as well as the nature of God
because God is our destiny. Creeds were created by the church to objectify the truth as in the
Nicene Creed, the Athanasian Creed, and the Apostles Creed. The Apostles Creed speaks about the
Trinity. The doctrine of the Trinity means that there is one God who eternally exists as three
distinct Persons the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Stated differently, God is one in essence and three

forced into an iconoclast position by official policy. But, ironically, this banishment in the end
served creative art a good turn (Chang 1). The party once again controlled the creation of official
art, however young artists would not allow themselves to be controlled. The underground nature of
new art communities allowed artists to thrive and experiment without fear. Artists were forced to
reevaluate the premise and validity of their artistic pursuit, and of the delicate tensions between
form, aesthetic matter and reality (Chang 2). Out of the reach of government control, they were
able to look abroad to places such as Singapore, Taiwan, and the west. Tiananmen Square became
deeply embedded in the minds of the artists that arose during the 1990s, and they faced the future
with a skepticism their predecessors lacked. From the ashes of the New Wave rose the Cynical
Realists, a group of young artists unsullied by the impractical expectations of the 80s (sullivan

Appearance Versus Reality in Anne Elliot s Persuasion Essay
Appearance Versus Reality in Anne Elliot s Persuasion In Persuasion , we meet Anne Elliot, a
bright, attractive, upper class woman who fell in love with a sailor, Captain Frederick Wentworth.
However, Anne was successfully persuaded to reject Wentworth by her aristocratic family and
friends, who failed to recognize Wentworth s fine character and saw only his shallowness. Both
Anne s sisters are extremely different to Anne. Mary is an over reactive hypochondriac. Elizabeth
very much follows in her father s footsteps. She enjoys going off gallivanting at upper class social
gatherings and usually accompanies her father on these. The central conflict in Persuasion is that of
appearance versus... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While in Bath, Sir Walter obsessed about the dearth of attractive women: He had frequently
observed, as he walked, that one handsome face would be followed by thirty, or five and thirty
frights; and once, as he had stood in a shop in Bond street, he had counted eighty seven women
go by, one after another, without there being a tolerable face among them . Tolerable Face is an
example of figurative language. Such a fascination with outward appearance severely limits Sir
Walter s prospects of finding another wife or intelligent friends and keeps him ignorant and self
centred. Austen clearly uses the theme of appearance versus reality to characterize Anne and Sir
Walter. She evidently believes that how a character sees others is a direct reflection of that
character s personality. Thus, we know that Anne Elliot possesses true depth of character and
sincerity because her superficial family fails to recognize her fine qualities: Anne, with an
elegance of mind and sweetness of character, which must have placed her high with any people
of real understanding, was nobody with either father or sister: her word had no weight; her
convenience was always to give way . Anne is clearly the only Elliot who can see reality : she
understands her family s need to economize and recognizes Mary s frequent sickness as a call for
attention. This is moral significance; she

The Death of the Moth by Virginia Woolf Essay
The Death of the Moth by Virginia Woolf The Death of the Moth, written by Virginia Woolf,
explains the brief life of a moth corresponding with the true nature of life and death. In this essay,
Woolf puts the moth in a role that represents life. Woolf makes comparisons of the life outside to
the life of the moth. The theme is the mystery of deathand the correspondence of the life of the
moth with the true nature of life. The images created by Woolf are presented that appeal to the
eye. For instance, the moth s body during the death is appealing to the eye. The image makes the
reader more interested. The essence of true life is energy. As Woolf describes, I could fancy that a
thread of vital light became visible. He was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then, as the essay continues, Woolf begins to be more interested and starts to feel a sense of pity
or sympathy for the moth. As described here, Watching him, it seemed as if a fibre, very thin and
pure, of the enormous energy of the world had been thrust into his frail and diminutive body (426
427). This sentence shows Woolfs attitude starting to change towards the moth. In the beginning of
the essay, Woolf does not show the interest like she does towards the end of the essay. When the
moth starts to go through death the tone changes dramatically and Woolf is a state of wonder and
awe for the moth.
When the moth is dying Woolf uses lengthier sentences to bring out the importance of the situation:
One could only watch the extraordinary efforts made by those tiny legs against an oncoming doom
which could, had it chosen, have submerged an entire city, not merely a city, but masses of human
beings; nothing, I knew, had any chance against death. (428)
The lengthier sentences also help to explain the wonder and awe that Woolf expresses towards the
moth. The wonder and awe that she expressed was due to the power and inevitability of the death.
Woolf was in awe that death is inevitable and that she could not do anything about it. The next
stylistic device is personification. By definition personification is to think of or represent as having
human qualities or life. Woolf applies this device to

Coffee Vs Energy Drinks
Caffeine is the perfect drug for the twenty first century world where everyone has their own race
to win. One has to push oneself to the limit to achieve something, resulting in stress and
exhaustion. Caffeine emerges as the drug to overcome stress, exhaustion and keep on going that
extra mile which is also free and legal. There are many sources of caffeinereadily available in the
market the major ones are coffeeand energy drinks. It is important to know about the drinks
because the way caffeine is delivered in a drinkaffects one s body and mind. There are three major
differences in coffee and energy drinks; cultural, social and ingredients.
There are a very few drinks with a richer history and culture as coffee. Coffee has hundreds of ...

Coffee usually has potassium and antioxidants that are beneficial if consumed in a limited
quantity. A regular eight ounce cup of coffee contains a hundred and fifty milligrams of caffeine
and when sugar and creamers are added to it, it contains more calories than the same size energy
drink (Fetters). In contrast a sixteen ounce red bull contains a hundred and fifty four milligrams
of caffeine that is half the caffeine content than that of a coffee but it contains way more sugar,
sodium and B12 which acts more quickly than a coffee (Fetters). Caffeine has been observed to
block fatigue inducing neurotransmitters, increasing neural firing and triggering the release of
dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, according to the research from McGill University
which results in a better mood, faster metabolism and a sharper brain. According to the Mayo
clinic, about two to three hundred milligrams of caffeine is safe for one to drink. Energy drinks
and coffee differ in the way they deliver caffeine to our system and more concern should be taken
while taking energy drinks as there are far more variety of energy drinks found in the market with a
variable caffeine content.
On the basis of cultural, social and ingredients in it, coffee is a more richer, social and beneficial
drink. There are many similarities

  • 2. The Importance Of Propaganda On Modern Society Propaganda has influenced modern society in such a way that most individuals are oblivious to its role in the modern way of life. Infact, without propaganda society would function in a drastically different way because of the newfound lack of outside influence. Propaganda, or the use of various mediums to persuade or influence rational thought, has been utilized to shape human civilization since it first began. From, as document A states, the Ancient Greeks use of theater performances and religious festivals to mold the opinions of men, to the Spanish Armada use of false information to gain the support of the spanish citizens, and finally to Yarn Adams and Tom Paine who used literature to rally colonists against the British Empire, propaganda has performed vital roles in the evolution of modern civilization. Therefore, it can be said that propaganda has been used as a language of power to spread ideas and beliefs, promote and build strength, and to control the action of men. Propaganda is a very valuable tool in the process of spreading ideas and beliefs throughout a population because of its powerful and lasting effects on those who are subjected to it. Therefore, if one utilizes such a tool properly, one can effectively convert the beliefs of entire populations. Events proving such is true can be seen in the Middle East where terrorist organizations such as the Taliban gain power. As Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy discusses, They [the Taliban] teach the children the Koran, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Rhetorical Analysis Of Blood, Toil, Tears, And Sweat On May 13th, 1940, newly elected Prime Minister Winston Churchill delivered a historic speech titled Blood, Toil, Tears, and Sweat . He discusses the necessity of an empowered Great Britain in the shadow of World War II; as well as his confidence within the strength of the British people. This speech s lasting impact was reinforced by it s usage of the three appeals: ethos, logos, and pathos. These appeals address the ethical, logical, and emotional ideas and undertones within a piece. Churchill s iconic speech truly encapsulates these three appeals within every word. Ethos is considered to be the ethical aspect of a piece. In other words: is the information and speaker reputable and trustworthy? This appeal is clearly demonstrated within Blood, Toil, Tears, and Sweat . For example, Churchill states In this crisis I hope I may be pardoned if I do not address the House at any length today. I hope that any of my friends and colleagues, or former colleagues, who are affected by the political reconstruction, will make allowance, all allowance, for any lack of ceremony ... This appeal is demonstrated in the line Let that be realized; no survival for the British Empire, no survival for all that the British Empire has stood for (Churchill). Churchill frankly states that without action, the British Empire and its values will crumble in the face of Nazi Germany. This clear and conscience delivery of Britain s fate is logical and able to be understood. So in turn, the appeal logos can be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. The Argument Between Pro-Life And Abortion The argument between pro life and pro choice gets more and more difficult all the time because everyone has their own opinion on the discussion. Not everyone feels the same about this subject not only because it is their opinion but because it is in their beliefs and/or religion. I am a pro choice believer because I feel it is most definitely the woman s choice, however, I don t feel that abortionis a kind of birth control. I can understand certain circumstances because believe me there are plenty but for a girl or woman to use abortion as a resort they use often, that to me is murder. I do respect others and their beliefs towards this subject because that is the kind of person I am but many do not have the same opinion as me and can be rude and nasty about the situation. To be someone who is pro life you believe that abortion is not an option. To say that someone is pro life is to say that the person believes that the government has an obligation to preserve all human life, regardless of intent, viability, or quality of life concerns (Head, 2015). A pro life person believes that one should not commit murder or abortion regarding the unborn life that is in a woman. I don t feel that the government should have a... • 7. Oozing Hegemonic Masculinity in the Super Bowl Commercials Many of us watch the Super Bowl to check out what we expect to be the most innovative and entertaining commercials of the year. Given the grand stage on which these commercials air, it is important that we analyze them in their proper context. Remember, this is a sporting event, one in which only men are allowed to participate (as athletes/coaches), where violent collisions are celebrated, and where most of the audience is male. Considering these gendered parameters, we should not be surprised that many of the 2012 Super Bowl commercials ooze hegemonic masculinity. In this post David Mayeda explores how a masculinity can be used to opress men and women alike. Back in 1987, Raewyn Connell coined the term hegemonic masculinity in a seminal text, Gender Power. Hegemonic masculinity refers to the dominant form of masculinity that exists within a particular culture. Relative to this ever changing, idealized form of masculinity are different subordinated masculinities those within a culture that do not live up to the so called masculine gold standard. Put simply, there are real men and then there are all other men. In watching the 2012 Super Bowl commercials, we can see versions of hegemonic masculinity demonstrated. Perhaps the most vivid version was seen in H M s Super Bowl ad, utilizing soccer (futbol) star, David Beckham: Tattooed, rugged, athletic, showcasing a lean musculature and menacing glare, Beckham embodies a hegemonic masculinity that would surely resonate ... • 8. Agricultural Export Commodities ( Stokes Howden 2010 ) The wine industry in Australia is one of the most highly valued agricultural export commodities (Stokes Howden 2010). Viticulture is an agricultural sector that is closely associated with climate as the production of unique wine is reliant upon specific combinations of climate, soils and landscape to create particular styles (Stokes Howden 2010; Webb et al. 2008). Changes in climate have potential to adversely affect the quality of winegrape production. Thus, climate change is set to become a major challenge for the wineindustry, and contest the adaptive capability of the industry. As a result of the increasing awareness of the potential consequences of significant climate variability, it is essential that the industry explores possible strategies to enable adaptation to change. The Margaret River wine region The Margaret River wine region of Western Australia is highly regarded as a premium wine region in Australia (Jones et al. 2010). The production of high quality wines, however, means that the region has potential to suffer from modifications in quality by the slightest climatic changes. Thus, climate change has potential to adversely impact the viticultural industry. At present, the Margaret River wine region experiences a Mediterranean style climate, with factors of temperature, soil quality and humidity all well suited to high quality wine production. The economic impact of the Margaret River wine industry is approximately an annual $250 million. Climate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A fortunate chance had recommended him to Lady Catherine de Bourgh when the living of Hunsford was vacant; and the respect which he had felt for her high rank, and his veneration for her as his patroness, mingling with very good opinion of himself and his authority as a clergyman, made him altogether a mixture of pride and obsequiousness, self importance and humility. • 14. Criticism Of The Virgin Mary Virgin Mary is a very influential woman in Christianity, particularly in the Roman Catholic sect. She is an example of what all women should strive to become. Historically, Mary has been viewed as a controversial figure in feminist culture. However, the Virgin Mary should truly be considered a feminist icon. Many may argue that Mary is a passive character, whose only use was as a vessel. There is, however, substantial evidence that this is completely untrue. There are many different scenarios in the Bible that highlight Mary s strength. For example, one of the first encounters with Mary shows readers her resilience. In the sixth month of Elizabeth s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin s name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you. 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end. 34 How will this be, Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin? 35 The angel answered, ... The habitable zone is defined as a region within which Earth like planets might possess the moderate environmental conditions for advanced life to form (von Bloh). Many of these new planets discovered are gas giants with atmospheres too turbulent to support life, so these planets habitable zone is said to be low or nonexistent. The existence of Earthlike planets, however, is just as common as the existence of these extreme planets. These conditions can range from the temperature of the universe, the background radiation leftover from the Big Bang, and the amount of elements located in the universe. It is a well known fact that organic molecules are common within the universe. As stated before, galaxies consist of billions of stars and then multiply that by the amount of galaxies in the universe; one can see why there are a plethora of stars. When stars die, the ones that explode, through a process called a supernova, release enough heavy elements into space that are essential for life to begin. Vilenkin states that the shockwave of these explosions are enough to propel these heavier elements into areas of dense clouds that have the potential to form new binary systems of a star and a planet. This new planet now has the chance to form life. But, the REH claims that the destructive nature of space is more prone to killing off any budding life than to help life develop. There is galactic cannibalism, which is when two galaxies collide and ripe each other apart with the force of gravity, or even stars dying can be a catalyst to the end of extraterrestrial life forming. Through violence and other vile tactics, the English were able to remove most of the natives from the land and start creating their new societies. While this rebuilding occurred, the English split into two distinctive groups known as The Chesapeake and New England. In documents from both colonies, set in the 1600 s, we will examine how the same group of people can have completely different social characteristics, economics, and religion. In the two regions, social structures completely differed from each other because they had different goals for how their territory would function. In New England, the structure was almost a complete copy of the one they had back home. Document B suggest this when it lists the travelers of those who would be arriving in New England. The Document implies that complete families along with their servants and herders came to New England with the idea to contain their tight knit community way of living. There are three major groups of marine mammals found around the world. Marine mammals include at least 117 species within the orders Carnivora, Sirenia, and Cetacea (Thurman, 2014). Today, these often gentle and intelligent creatures are faced with many obstacles and challenges to survive and adapt. While adaptation has been a natural process for all species through time and evolution, these sea creatures are being forced to adapt at a faster rate in the last century. This has been largely due to an increase of human fishing, ocean pollution, and climate change. • 29. Kwame Anthony Appiah Cosmopolitanism Utilizing a wide variety of subjects, including literature, history, and philosophy as well as his own personal experiences, Kwame Anthony Appiah through his novel Cosmopolitanism: Ethics in a World of Strangers, seeks to explain the similarities and differences of the people that inhabit the world. Prehistoric hunters and gatherers formed close knit communities which were founded upon survival, humanity, in turn, was shaped by those experiences. Centuries later, those close knit communities have expanded into kingdoms, cities, nation states, and world order. Appiah states that, cosmopolitanismbegins with the simple idea that in the human community, as in national communities, we need to develop habits of coexistence: conversation in its older meaning, of living together, association (Appiah, xix). Here, Appiah reminds humans that we have been living beside each other since the beginning of time. However, even though the world is expanding; it is also shrinking, metaphorically, as a consequence of globalization. Individuals only in the past couple of centuries have had the ability to affect each other indirectly through shared resources and common enemies. Neither nationality, gender, nor state boundaries, have moral status with respect to questions of justice. Despite the reasons to value our relationships with our local citizens these reasons do not justify inequalities in the well being of people inhabiting different geographical territories. ... Mountain Men from the North American Rock Mountains Mountain men were most common in the North American Rocky Mountains from about 1810 through the 1880s (with a peak population in the early 1840s). Approximately 3,000 mountain men ranged the mountains between 1820 and 1840, the peak beaver harvesting period. Ashley sold his business to the outfit of Jackson and Sublette. He continued to earn revenue by selling that firm their supplies. Out of the reach of government control, they were able to look abroad to places such as Singapore, Taiwan, and the west. Tiananmen Square became deeply embedded in the minds of the artists that arose during the 1990s, and they faced the future with a skepticism their predecessors lacked. From the ashes of the New Wave rose the Cynical Realists, a group of young artists unsullied by the impractical expectations of the 80s (sullivan ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Appearance Versus Reality in Anne Elliot s Persuasion Essay Appearance Versus Reality in Anne Elliot s Persuasion In Persuasion , we meet Anne Elliot, a bright, attractive, upper class woman who fell in love with a sailor, Captain Frederick Wentworth. However, Anne was successfully persuaded to reject Wentworth by her aristocratic family and friends, who failed to recognize Wentworth s fine character and saw only his shallowness. Both Anne s sisters are extremely different to Anne. Mary is an over reactive hypochondriac. Elizabeth very much follows in her father s footsteps. She enjoys going off gallivanting at upper class social gatherings and usually accompanies her father on these. The central conflict in Persuasion is that of appearance versus... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While in Bath, Sir Walter obsessed about the dearth of attractive women: He had frequently observed, as he walked, that one handsome face would be followed by thirty, or five and thirty frights; and once, as he had stood in a shop in Bond street, he had counted eighty seven women go by, one after another, without there being a tolerable face among them . Tolerable Face is an example of figurative language. Such a fascination with outward appearance severely limits Sir Walter s prospects of finding another wife or intelligent friends and keeps him ignorant and self centred. Austen clearly uses the theme of appearance versus reality to characterize Anne and Sir Walter. She evidently believes that how a character sees others is a direct reflection of that character s personality. Thus, we know that Anne Elliot possesses true depth of character and sincerity because her superficial family fails to recognize her fine qualities: Anne, with an elegance of mind and sweetness of character, which must have placed her high with any people of real understanding, was nobody with either father or sister: her word had no weight; her convenience was always to give way . Anne is clearly the only Elliot who can see reality : she understands her family s need to economize and recognizes Mary s frequent sickness as a call for attention. This is moral significance; she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then, as the essay continues, Woolf begins to be more interested and starts to feel a sense of pity or sympathy for the moth. As described here, Watching him, it seemed as if a fibre, very thin and pure, of the enormous energy of the world had been thrust into his frail and diminutive body (426 427). This sentence shows Woolfs attitude starting to change towards the moth. In the beginning of the essay, Woolf does not show the interest like she does towards the end of the essay. When the moth starts to go through death the tone changes dramatically and Woolf is a state of wonder and awe for the moth. When the moth is dying Woolf uses lengthier sentences to bring out the importance of the situation: One could only watch the extraordinary efforts made by those tiny legs against an oncoming doom which could, had it chosen, have submerged an entire city, not merely a city, but masses of human beings; nothing, I knew, had any chance against death. (428) The lengthier sentences also help to explain the wonder and awe that Woolf expresses towards the moth. The wonder and awe that she expressed was due to the power and inevitability of the death. Woolf was in awe that death is inevitable and that she could not do anything about it. The next stylistic device is personification. By definition personification is to think of or represent as having human qualities or life. Woolf applies this device to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
