Economic, Social, and Political Causes of the Mexican...
History of the Americas
The Economic, Social, and Political causes of The Mexican Revolution
1840 1910
The Mexican Revolution is one of the most significant historical events in Mexican history. Without
the revolution Mexico would not be the democratic country that it is today. The Mexican Revolution is
often seen as a standard bearer through which other subsequent Latin American revolutions are
interpreted. (Darity) There were several significant events spanning several years that led up to the
unrest of the Mexican people resulting in a revolution. For example, the Mexican American War, and
The Reform War which was also a civil war really gave way to the people standing up for what they
believed in and revolting. More ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Reform War was a civil war between the Mexican people, the conservatives vs. the liberals. With
the unhappy reaction of the liberals chaos broke out and Comonfort resigned and Benito Juarez
became president. Comonfort died in an ambush in 1863 (Biography in context) With Juarez President
the Reform War ended. The liberals considered this a political victory over the conservatives, having
one of their own in office. Juarez would free Mexico from the most flagrant remnants of
neocolonialism. (Scholes) After the Liberals defeated the conservatives, President Juarez had more to
worry about. Some European countries were very upset with Mexico and their unpaid debt with them.
They sent troops to Mexico but, they all withdrew themselves when they saw that French dictator
Napoleon was planning to overthrow Juarez s government. The overthrow of the Juarez government
started the French Intervention in Mexico in 1862. With the help of the United states Juarez managed
to gain back control, he became a hero in the eyes of most liberal Mexican s for not backing down and
running out the French.
Shortly after Juarez Porfirio Diaz stepped into the presidency, no one knowing that he was going to be
stepping into neither the presidency for 31 years nor that those 31 years would

SEMINAR: Symbol: The pomegranate tree and the pomegranate are symbolic because in earlier
chapters of the book it symbolizes Amir and Hassan s friendship, as they carve their names in it and sit
under it. When Amir hits Hassan with the pomegranates and demands that he fight back, Hassan
smashes a pomegranate against his own forehead, sacrificing himself again for Amir, but it signifies
the end of their friendship as Amir cannot stand the way Hassan sacrifices himself for him and it
builds the guilt in Amir. Character: Still playing soccer, Assef jan? said baba. He d always wanted me
to be friends with Assef (Hosseini 101) Baba refers to Assef as jan, it seems that he is proud and

Amir was wrong by saying this because getting someone who was close to you for a long time out
your life is not as easy as it is. Except Baba stunned me by saying, I forgive you (Hosseini 112) Why
do you guys think Baba forgave Hassan for stealing? Doesn t he consider stealing as a sin? So might
that be the case? It shows us that Baba really cares about Ali and Hassan because he is able of
forgiving them even though there is actually nothing to forgive. He is willing to take them back even
though they supposedly sold from him. Life here is impossible for us now, Agha sahib. We re leaving.
(Hosseini 112) *This is said by Ali to Baba. He is telling Baba it is impossible for Hassan to live
around Amir, even though Baba doesn t know what happened. Ali and Hassan have enough pride to
live away from someone who doesn t want them around in case would be Amir. This is important
because Ali was like a brother to Baba and their lives will change without them around, to Baba more
than to Amir. He told him everything, about what Assef and his friends had done to him, about the
kite, about me (Hosseini 112) At the end Amir gets what he wanted, he does not have to keep the
regret of telling someone of what he did, that is because Hassan told his father, he also gets Hassan
and Ali to leave and the best of it is that they did not tell Baba. Even at the last moment Hassan stood
after Amir and did not

Shrovetide Football Research Paper
The other type of game was called Shrovetide football, belonged in the mob football category. Here
the number of players were unlimited with vague rules. An example of such vagueness is where any
means could be used to get the ball to its target. The only exception is murder and manslaughter. The
game is still being played today in some areas in Ashbourne, in Derbyshire. Pointless to say, it is no
longer so violent as it used to be, nor are such broad casualties suffered as was probably the case
centuries ago. The origin of this game apparently is Anglo Saxon and there are many legends
concerning its first appearance. For instance, both in Kingston on Thames and Chester, there is a story
which says, the game was first played with a detached ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, it is reported that the history of the game being played by the Anglo Saxon could not be
traced in any of their literature and there is also no trace of it. Before the Norman Conquest, the only
information got such such game came from a Celtic source Another theory that emanated on the origin
of the game was that is that while the mob football was being played in early years of the AD , in
British Isles. similar game was also being played France, especially in Normandy and Brittany
environs. It is believed that, while the Normans were moving into Britain, they brought the game
along. These theories present a bewildered picture of the origin of the game and makes it even more
complex than the rules of the game. Even farmers in those days sees the ball as the sun which they had
to conquer to expect a plentiful harvest. So the game was not just a show of strength and skill but also
a fertility rights that even pagan do believe it works. During this period, the ball had to be forced

Planet
In the outer limits of our solar system there is a planet unlike any other, Pluto. Pluto was discovered in
February of 1930 by an American astronomer, Clyde Tombaugh. It is the only planet to have been
discovered by an American. All though we have known of the existence of Pluto for over thirty years
now, there are still many mysteries surrounding this celestial body. Being the farthest planet has made
it difficult to study Pluto, Adding to the obscurity of this strange planet is that the capability to send
spacecraft such distances has never been achieved. Through the wonders of science and astronomy,
there are many things that can be determined, concluded, and hypothesized about this obscure planet.
Pluto s discovery was actually a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This gives Pluto the appearance that it is tipped on its side, which, in essence, it virtually is. Pluto s
rotation also has notable qualities. Pluto s rotation period is 6.387 days, the same as its satellite/moon
Charon. Although it is common for a moon to travel in a synchronous orbit with its planet, Pluto is the
only planet to rotate synchronously with the orbit of its satellite. Thus being tidally locked, Pluto and
Charon continuously face each other as they travel through space. From 1985 to 1990, the Earth lined
up with Pluto and Charon to cause and eclipse every Pluto day. This occurrence allowed astronomers
to gather a multitude of valuable information about Pluto and its moon. The eclipses lasted as much as
four hours and by carefully timing their beginning and ending, measurements for their diameters were
taken. Photograph s later taken by the Hubble telescope confirms Pluto s diameter of 1413 miles, and
Charon s, at nearly half the size, 728 miles across within one percent accuracy.
Astronomers where also able to determine the density of Pluto during the daily eclipses. By
discovering the density to be approximately two grams per cubic centimeter, astronomers where able
to hypothesize the make up of the planet. They concluded that Pluto is fifty to seventy percent rock
with mixed with ice. Astronomers are also confident in the density of Charon. If correct, the
approximate density of one gram per cubic centimeter would mean that Charon

Attending Art School Research Paper
Attending art school has always been a dream of mine, and Memphis College of Art just seems like
the right school for me. I would love to attend Memphis College of Art, because of any of the art
schools that I looked at, MCA is the only school that has kept my attention since my tenth grade year.
MCA would come and visit my high school during the spring time and discuss the courses, and the
cost of the college, and the person who would come and talk to my class would ensure that if you are
admitted into the college, you will have a finance officer to help you. I am also interested in the
college, because it is out of state, yet close to home. MCA offers many different art courses that would
allow me to further my studies in art. Being at

How Did Thomas Participate In The Glade
When Thomas was put into the glade all he wanted to know was what was going on. All the simple
questions he had were not answered. The rules of the glade were pretty simple, follow the rules and
your time at the glade will be easy. Thomas s thirst for answers was unquenchable, so he had to take
matters into his own hands and figure out everything on his own. Thomas started as a whining greeny
and grows to help everyone find a way out. Thomas went against all odds and most people of the
glade just because of his curiosity for where he was and the answers he wanted. When Thomas arrived
at the glade he was dazed and confused. He had no idea where he was or why he was there. He was
still baffled because he couldn t remember anything.

Why The United States Won The War Of 1812 Dbq
On July 18, 1812, the United States declared war on Great Britain which started the War of 1812. The
war began because of a military conflict between the United States and Great Britain. The war lasted
from 1812 to 1814. The War started when the colony of Great Britain and Canada, got invaded by the
Americans. The war was fought in many different places such as, Upper Canada, Lower Canada, on
the Great Lakes, the Atlantic, and in the U.S. The war was a big dispute between the U.S. and the
British Empire. The British limited the American trade system because they were afraid it would be
damaging to their war with France. They also wanted to have an Indian state in parts of the Midwest.
They wanted to do this to maintain their influence in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the issues of rights were not determined in the peace treaty, the war was considered a failure.
However, the Americans had some impressive victories at sea, which gave them the potential of
becoming an American power (i.e., footnote 1). The war was definitely a failure for the War Hawks,
who desired to invade Canada. The war proved that this was not doable for their military to do. In
conclusion, the war was a war of honor and respect and not to be judged (i.e., footnote 1).
The War of 1812 had a big effect on America and how the world viewed the developing nation.
America was now viewed as a nation that was strong and capable to endure two wars with the British
(i.e., footnote 2). America as a nation had also changed. There was an extended faith in America and
their abilities. Without a doubt, the War of 1812 played a huge role in the development of America

I conducted my interview on a man named Jack Bauwer who was an Afghanistan war veteran which
took place between 2001 and 2014 though he was there from 2001 to 2006. The major purpose of the
war was to counter terrorism in response to 9/11 attacks and it was known as Operation Enduring
Freedom. The combat mission conducted in Afghanistan was to eliminate and weaken the Al Qaeda
militia and their Taliban supporters. I met Mr. Bauwer through a friend while we had gone for a
swimming competition. Mr. Bauwer was Tony s neighbor at Inglewood California. Tony Michaels,
Kim and I were present at the time of the interview.
Memory Jogging
Mr Bauwer joined the army when he was 25 years old forced by circumstances to abandon his studies
at the university to provide for his family after his father, who was a police officer, was killed in a
shootout in an attempt to apprehend armed robbers who had been terrorizing residents. Bauwer
explained how life became tough for his mother who did not have a decent job especially in meeting
the family expenses and still pay school fees for the siblings. Jack had to sacrifice his education to
ensure his siblings went through school. It happened that at the same time the army was recruiting
new members into the force and that is how he joined the army. He underwent basic combat training,
which was really tough but he had no option but to persevere and face the challenges as they came.
Many of his counterparts quit in the process. Jack was enlisted in

Study Of The Airline Industry Resilience And The Terrorist...
Finally, Company Size, Industry, Company Ownership, Organizational Design (Czinkota et al., 2010),
and Firm Age are introduced in the model to control for factors beyond relationships that could
influence the dependent variable of performance resilience. Data Analysis The research method relies
upon the general methodological framework used by Gittell et al. (2006) in the study of the airlines
industry resilience to the terrorist attacks of 9/11. This exploratory archival data analysis employs
quantitative statistical techniques from the terrorism and international business literature stream.
Initially, correlation analysis between the operationalized independent variables, moderating variables,
control variables and the dependent variable will be conducted, using Pearson Correlation Coefficients
as a measure, to identify and evaluate non causal associations and strengths of relationships between
variables. In addition, scatterplots would be created of the variables to determine whether linear
relationships exist. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) would be used as the general structure for
statistical testing of the conceptual model, shown in Figure 4, using the F test. Moreover, the F test
would be an initial overall inference test of the operationalized conceptual model. Furthermore,
collinearity diagnostics tests for multi collinearity on the independent and moderating variables will be
performed using Variance Inflation Factors as a gauge to assess any overlap or

delicious diverse foods. There is a place that you could spend your whole life enjoy with beach and

very funny and interesting things going on in this place. There are two different stories about this
name. You could hear from Sheepshead Bay s neighborhood, sometimes they will tell you its name
came form the outline of area like a sheep s head. However, the more popular story you will hear is
told by the fisherman. Archosargus probatocephalus, better known as the sheepshead, is one of the fish
varieties. This fish creature s face and teeth look like a sheep. Sheepshead fish were incredibly
common in Sheepshead Bay during the early nineteenth century. The most income of farmers is
commercial with fishermen while waiting for their farms to harvest. The Sheepshead fish was also

Internal Conflict At Gideon
Internal conflict is when the character has a problem that they deal with in a personal way. When a
character is dealing with internal conflict, no one else knows but themselves and the reader. External
conflict is when there is a problem that many characters are involved in. When a character is dealing
with external conflict, the antagonist of the story and a few other characters are involved. Internal and
External conflict are the same because they are both problems the characters deal with in the story.
The author introduces conflict after Gideon, their cook, saves the little boy from going blind. The
mother was so amazed with what he did, that she decided to tell everyone she knew. To the people,
what Gideon did was magical and the plant he used to help the boy needed to be found. But to Gideon
felt oppositely of the people, all he did was save the boy, why does this plant even matter if the boy
was now okay? Gideon is facing both internal and external conflict. Everyone is worked up about

Elements Of The Labyrinth
Millhauser Introduction There are few tropes that have endured and evolved as much as the labyrinth.
From ancient to postmodern times, the labyrinth has evolved from a symbol of divine order to an
expression of chaos. Because it is such a flexible symbol, the labyrinth has endured even as the nature
of human thought has evolved. This project aims to explore the labyrinthine elements of American
writer Steven Millhauser s short fiction.
The idea of the labyrinth is demonstratively present in Millhauser s short fiction. However, his usage
of the labyrinth is at once the same and different than preceding eras of short fiction. Postmodern short
fiction in the 1960 s and 70 s utilized the labyrinthine to draw attention to its own textuality. The
labyrinth was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One important characteristic of the labyrinth is its essential interiority. The labyrinth of Greek
mythology, built by Daedalus for King Minos of Crete, had a perplexing and imprisoning interior. The
complexity of its interior served its function: the imprisonment of the Minotaur a half man and half
bull creature. In her book The Idea of the Labyrinth, Penelope Doob traces the evolution of the
labyrinth in art, culture and literature from antiquity to the middle ages. Doob observes that the
labyrinth of ancient mythology was so perplexing that its maker, Daedalus, could scarcely navigate it
(Doob, 36). The confusion and imprisoning nature of the mythological labyrinth points to the trope s
inextricable quality: its interior ambages (Doob 66). Likewise, Hermann Kern asserts that the most
important feature of the labyrinth [is]...the negative space of the path formed by those lines which
determined the pattern of movement (Kern 23). Nietzsche, too, observes that the force of the labyrinth
is that its meaning resides solely in its interiority (Nietzsche

Was Napoleon Bonaparte the Saviour or the Destroyer of the...
With all the glory and the splendour that some countries may have experienced, never has history seen
how only only one man, Napoleon, brought up his country, France, from its most tormented status, to
the very pinnacle of its height in just a few years time. He was a military hero who won splendid land
based battles, which allowed him to dominate most of the European continent. He was a man with
ambition, great self control and calculation, a great strategist, a genius; whatever it was, he was simply
the best. But, even though how great this person was, something about how he governed France still
floats among people s minds. Did he abuse his power? Did Napoleon defeat the purpose of the ideals
of the French Revolution? After all of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He satisfied their hunger for liberty, equality, and fraternity.
br
br Perhaps one of the most important and lasting contributions that Napoleon gave to the French
people was the Civil Code or most widely known as the Napoleonic Code. This was written at a time
in history when discrimination was rampant. It was then that Napoleon decided to liberate and offer
Liberty, Equality and Fraternity to the Jews, Protestants, and other religions as well. He also opened
the churches that were closed for years. In this part of the essay, I will talk most about how and why
he promoted freedom of religion.
br
br Napoleon Bonaparte was never that deeply religious. He showed that to everybody during his
coronation as the Emperor of France: he took the crown from Pope Pius VII and placed it on his own
head. That was a clear indication that religion had nothing to do with Napoleon s coronation. He
wanted to prove that France chose him. But there was a contradiction to this when he allowed freedom
of religion all over France. Why is this? Is he that religious? We ve just seen how he clearly showed to
everybody that religion has nothing to do with him being an Emperor. But, if we dig a little bit deeper,
we can actually see that Napoleon didn t just think of himself when he made such laws. He wanted not
only the Frenchmen to be happy, but also the Jews and other races. After he signed the Concordat,
churches of France reopened in April 1802, and the

APA Code Of Ethics
Ethics
Ethics are norms of conduct. In terms of research, ethics are a set of rules that tell researchers what
they should and shouldn t do. They exist because researchers might not be objective on whether a
study might harm participants, among other things (McBride, 2010). Nuremberg Code
When the second world war ended, the Nuremberg Code was developed. This code, which was
created after the horrible experiments done by Nazis came to light, stated that researchers had to
follow ten rules (Schuler, 1982).
1. Voluntary consent for participation in an experiment is required.
2. The research should yield fruitful results for the good of society.
3. The results should justify the methods of the study.
4. Researchers must avoid causing unnecessary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned before, researcher have to accurately report results. In addition, the concept of
plagiarism is a critical factor in psychological research. Everything has to be given proper citation,
from quotes to tables used.
Violating the ethical guidelines
Not adhering to the guidelines can have serious consequences. For example, Woo Suk Hwang falsely
stated that he had been able to clone human stem cells (Bhattacharya, 2006). He now faces criminal
charges in South Korea and has permantly damaged his career (McBride, 2010).

She suggests that female male communication is cross cultural communication, with all of the
challenges of communicating with people who are different from us (p. 88). Hence, the same
information can affect each gender in a different way. Men often communicate to report; women often
communicate to establish rapport. So the point of difference isn t in the way the sexes actually
communicate but in their motivations or reasons for communicating (p. 88). The guys that received
the two pictures of the girls were excited and all voted on who they considered hotter. The girls on the
other hand couldn t believe that it was being sent around and were offended. Females tend to take
things more literally and are likely to be more emotional than men, which should be taken in to
consideration, when any interpersonal communication is taking place. During Zuckerberg s creation of

Flatfish Mimicry Research Paper
Mimicry of other toxic species Thaumoctopus mimicus is said to use imperfect mimicry, defined as
the using poor to decent imitations of multiple morphs, rather than strong resemblance to one species
(Hanlon et al., 2008; Huffard et al., 2010). As mentioned in the previous section, they replicate the
coloration of multiple forms of flatfish, but more dramatic morphs are displayed while individuals are
swimming in the mid water range of the water column or while interacting directly with aggressive
species (Norman et al., 2001). Following with the assumption that T. mimicus is a Batesian mimic, the

attributes associated with the mimic octopus that are believed to result in the unique behaviors it
displays: dorsoventrally compressed (flatfish swimming), activity during daylight hours, high contrast
coloration. It had been the previous assumption that flatfish swimming was an exaptation of
cephalopod locomotion that the mimic octopus developed to be able to move easier after the evolution
of its impressively long arms (Huffard et al., 2010). However, genetic evidence showed that the
evolution of long arms and flatfish swimming most likely occurred simultaneously in T. mimicus,
rendering the previous assumption null and void (Huffard et al., 2010). Further phylogenetic analysis
suggests that the development of the mimic octopus s iconic high contrast banded coloration
developed as a secondary adaptation in order to further solidify its imitation of toxic flatfishes. The
phylogenetic tree compiled by Huffard et al. (2010) defines the long armed sand octopus guild to
include T. mimicus and its relatives Wunderpus photogenicus, the White V octopus, and Abdopus
acuelatus (Figure 4). The other species placed in this group demonstrate their own variations of
flatfish swimming during daytime foraging hours, however only T. mimicus and W. photogenicus
accompany this swimming style with high contrast coloration patterns while swimming without threat.
The other three species would only demonstrate this ability when

The Appeal And Spread Of Radical Islam
The appeal and spread of radical Islam within the United States is becoming a serious national
security risk. In the past radical Islamic groups such as ISIS and Al Qaeda placed cells in the United
States for the purpose of taking down the American establishment through domestic terrorism. In
order to counter and even stop this phenomenon, it is essential that law enforcing and the intelligence
community understand what makes Radical Islam so appealing. Moreover, Once Officials figure out
the appeal of radical Islam, only then can an effective strategy to combat radical Islam be made and

Furthermore, many radical Islamic groups believe that man made laws are shirk and they are not too
be bound by them (Quintan Wiktorowicz, 2006). Moreover, the only laws that have a sense of
legitimacy in the eyes of radical Islamist is Sharia law (Quintan Wiktorowicz, 2006). Which is
believed to be law directly passed down from Allah. In addition, radical groups such as Al Muhajiroun
believe that all actions, decisions and deeds are an act of praise and worship as long as it follows
sharia. Conversely, any deviation from the fundamentalist teachings of Islam is considered sin against
God (Quintan Wiktorowicz, 2006). Therefore, according to radical Islamist those who do not follow
the strict interpretations of Islam are doomed to burn in the fiery pits of hell, while those of follow
such teaching will see paradise (Quintan Wiktorowicz, 2006). Radical Islamist groups use this basic
principle to keep their members in check. It is also important to note that each Radical Islamist group
believes only it can offer its members the True path to salvations and all other groups are false

My Co-Op Placement
At my co op placement, I have a few duties or a specific role that I had to fulfill during the time I
worked there. The particular role given to me was to be a bus girl , a term used for an individual that
has the duty of clearing the tables and also setting it up again. However, I was also in charge of the
cleaning aspect, organizing as well as re stocking. Whether it may be sugar, ketchup, salt, pepper,
toilet paper, tissue paper and more that we run out of. I am in charge of being aware of when a certain
item is running out and changing it as to where everything is good as new, and we are set for another
day of business. Washing the dishes is also an important duty as we run out of eating utensils so fast
on a busy day. When I have the time, I do roll ups. Often times, the server is busy dealing with other
customers. So, I took it upon myself to welcome the customers by greeting them good morning, sitting
them down according to the number of customers or their preferred seats if available, then take their
drink orders to get them started and settled down while they wait for the server to take their order.
Then, there are less important duties that I do when it is not so busy such as sanitize down areas, ...

But the transition to a greater wireless focus has proved painful. In order for RadioShack to properly
evaluate and resole this issue it must apply the systems organizational behavior theory. This theory
evaluates companies as individual yet interconnected pieces of a much larger operation. If the
management team of the company alters just one facet of a department, it may cause aftershocks
which echo through other departments. Under this theory, it is important to comprehend that a
dynamic equilibrium must exist in order for the company to continue operating efficiently. That being
said, RadioShack s increased focus on wireless needs to be examined and addressed. In an effort to
regain the wireless lead from retailers, such as Wal Mart, RadioShack is continuing to expand its
wireless kiosks and replacing long time partner, Verizon Wireless, with Cingular Wireless. One thing
is for certain. RadioShack acknowledges they need to react more rapidly than in the past to the ever
changing retail environment, if they plan to survive. Survival requires adaptation, and adaptation often
involves predictable sequences. As the organization ages, it will pass through the stages of forming,
developing, maturing, and declining in relation to environmental circumstances. Thus ultimately, the

Coal Mining As Environmental Health Issue

unites many Kentuckians. This common thread is coal mining. Window decals proudly proclaiming
Coal miner s daughter , friend of coal license plates, and yard signs declaring Coal keeps the lights on
are only a fraction of the coal mining propaganda frequently seen throughout my community. There is
an allure to being a coal miner not only because it is a high paying job that does not require a college

Racial Hygiene In Nazi
Nazi Germany was a state built on racial ideologies. The Nazi Party was influenced by two
contributing factors leading up the Nazi state. These crucial influences are the buildup of science on
racial hygiene and the policing groups that further shaped and protected the Nazi regime. Science at
this time was not distrusted and was viewed as concrete. In 1895, Alfred Ploetz, coined the term racial
hygiene (Procter, 15). This term purpose was to consider not just the good of the individual but also
the good of the race. When political parties began to dissolve and Adolf Hitler was appointed
Chancellor, these ideals were brought up with him. The need to return to normalcy allowed Hitler to
sway public opinion. Hitler implemented policing to anyone who he saw that threatened the Nazi
Party. Racial Hygiene is the most influential building block of the Nazi administration that sparked
interest around the world before the 1900s. The growth of Racial Hygiene or scientific discrimination
was an emitting agenda, but it was also diplomatic in design to reinforce certain power relations as
natural with the help of policing programs to navigate into the Nazi Parties direction.
When the Weimar dissolved, many were relieved that the unknown and imposed Democratic
government was gone along with many of its parties. The Democracy didn t take hold in government
long enough for the people to feel the effects. When Racial Hygiene was introduced into Nazism
before The Great War, it would be

The Ohio Art Company s Business Practices Essay example
1) The main reason for Ohio Art Company s decision to move its production to china was simply to
stay in business. When asked if it was an ethical decision, you must look at the company as a whole
and not just the sake of their employees. Even though OAC does have moral obligations to its
employees, they also have moral obligations to there stakeholders as well. OAC s main goal was to
keep overall costs for its most popular product the Etch A Sketch under $10 or else lost money. On an
economic perspective, with the move to China Americans would achieve lower prices plus lower

The righteous moralist claims that a multinational s home country standards of ethics are appropriate
ones in all countries. In this case the OAC should stop doing business with Kin Ki due to its labor and

developing countries such as China. The second moralist view: The naïve immoralist states that if a
manager sees that firms from other nations are not following ethical norms in a host country then they
should not either. In this situation, one would think that since China has a bad reputation of violating
human rights and using cheap labor through sweatshops, then it would be okay for the OAC to do the
same, which is a very bad way of doing business. I think that OAC should make sure that their
workers at Kin Ki are being taken care of in and out of the factory, if not then OAC should stop doing
business with Kin Ki immediately and end their contract.
3) It is possible for executives from OAC as well as Mr. Killgallon to have no knowledge of labor

of the labor problems is if the company s executives have never done business or stepped foot into
China to see for themselves the poor working conditions Chinese workers face everyday. Usually the

The Carboxylate Group In Tamiflu
Additional questions:
1. Why would removing the carboxylate groups result in the compound s activity being nullified?
The carboxylate group in Tamiflu provides it with a strong ionic interaction with an arginine residue.
This interaction will hold the drug molecule in place in the binding pocket of the enzyme, allowing it
to elicit an effect. Removal of this group would result in the arginine Tamiflu interaction being
removed, which would result in a poorer affinity for the binding pocket. The Tamiflu molecule will be
far less likely to exhibit good binding and therefore the biological effect of the drug would be
diminished.
2. Identify the binding groups and their optimal alignment with one another, paying particular
attention to the hydrogen bonds. Provide at least one example for each type of interaction.
a. Hydrophobic
The non polar chain attached to the ether in Tamiflu has a non polar interaction with the side chain of
a glutamic acid residue, where the residue fits in between the two side chains of the Tamiflu.
b. Hydrogen bonds
The amide of Tamiflu forms a hydrogen bond with the guanidine group of an arginine residue. The
nitrogen of the guanidine acts as a hydrogen bond donor and the amide of the Tamiflu molecule acts as
a hydrogen bond acceptor.
The NH2 group of the Tamiflu also forms hydrogen bonds with an aspartic acid residue, where NH2 is
the hydrogen bond donor and COO is the hydrogen bond acceptor.
c. Ionic interactions

Chapter 1 The Nature and Method of Economics
Economics is the study of scarcity and choice
Key concept opportunity cost: for a person to get more of one thing... he/she must forego getting
something else
e.g. to get food must pay (give up) money
In economics rational behavior is assumed, e.g. people want more goods for less money
Assumption: we all want to increase utility = happiness, satisfaction

Macroeconomics examines the economy as a whole and its main sectors: government sector,

An aggregate is a collection of specific economic units treated as one unit, e.g. the millions of
consumers lumped together and called consumers
Macroeconomics seeks to obtain an overview or outline of the economy, i.e. examines the beach, not
the grains of sand
Microeconomics examines details of specific economic units... such as one household (typically a
nuclear family), company, or unit of government...

Characteristics Of Merchant Of Venice A Comedy
William Shakespeare, widely regarded as the world s greatest playwright, has revolutionized the world
of English literature with his plays. Some of these plays are clear cut comedies and tragedies, while
others are more ambiguous. The Merchant of Venice is a play that falls under the latter type, and it has
been hotly contested whether this literary work should be classified a comedy or a tragedy. However,
since the majority of the characters received a happy ending, the abundance of comic relief scenes and
characters, and lightheartedness of the plot relative to other Shakespearean works leads me to
conclude that The Merchant of Venice is indeed a comedy.
One of the characteristics of a comedy is that it usually contains a happy resolution of conflict, and
this was definitely reflected in the conclusion of The Merchant of Venice. Happy endings usually
pertain to the protagonists or the main characters surviving or outlasting misfortune. Antonio being
spared and cleared of any debt he owed Shylock by the Venetian courts (Act IV, scene i) is a prime
example of the protagonist receiving satisfactory closure. In the drama building up to the court scene,
Antonio s best friend, Bassanio, had cut a deal with the devil as he borrowed money from the shrewd
Shylock, with the stipulation that repayment would either be in ducats or a pound of Antonio s flesh
(Act I, scene iii). When Antonio s business enterprise came crashing down abruptly, he had no means

Types, Diagnosis, And Treatment
Candidiasis
Introduction
Candidiasis refers to the fungal infection caused by any Candida which is a form of yeast. There are
more than 20 species of candida yeast that might cause illnesses in people, but the common Candida
species is the Candida albicans (Hospenthal Rinaldi, 2015). However, the yeasts are found in small
amounts in the mucous membrane and skin, and they do not cause infection, but the overgrowth
would lead to infection. Specific drugs and health issues may cause the yeast to overgrow especially in
warm and moist body parts leading dangerous symptoms. The signs and symptoms of candidiasis
depend on the part of the human body that is infected (Contreras Fuentes, 2013). Health centers in
many nations have reported that Candida species cause fungal infections leading to hospitalization of
patients. The paper focuses on candidiasis by exploring its causes, epidemiology, types, diagnosis and
treatment as well as prevention measures and risk factors. The thesis of the paper is that candidiasis is
a fatal disease that can lead to defects and even death.
Epidemiology
In the United States, Candida is the third cause of nosocomial bloodstream diseases accounting for
about 8 10 percent of the cases. Moreover, three quarter of females in America experience vaginitis
during their life with 25 percent caused by Candida (Contreras Fuentes, 2013). The invasive
candidiasis is the prominent infection among all fungal diseases since it accounts 70 to 90 percent of

European Imperialism 19th Century
With the wealth of the industrial revolution burning in their pockets, the powerful nations of Europe
were ready to formally expand their empire into Asia and Africa. Known as new imperialism, this
desire for expansion was motivated by many things. There were two major reasons why Europe
wanted to expand, and that was the promise of economic growth, and the sting of national rivalry.
Prior to the 19th century Europe s interactions with Asia and Africa had mostly been limited. Content

Themes Of The Revolutionary War
The American Revolutionary War was also called the American War of Independence and the
Revolutionary War. The Revolutionary War was an armed conflict between Great Britain and the
thirteen Northern American colonies, who declared themselves the Independent United States of
America. France who was very eager for revenge after the defeat in the Seven Years War. The French
signed an alliance with the new nation in 1778 that proved decisive in the great victory. The conflict
gradually expanded into a world war with Britain to combat in battle with France, Spain, and the
Netherlands. Freedom and liberty were the major themes of the Revolution. So the idea of liberty was
just a central reality to the lives of most African Americans. To win freedom thousands of slaves
opposed the patriot cause and risked their lives to escape to the British army. Black soldiers were
treated better by the British, but in both armies they were often assigned to do the most dangerous
duties and they received lower payment than white soldiers. Other than doing military service slaves

Analysis Of Edward Abbey s Desert Solitaire
I will be reviewing Edward Abbey s memoir during his time spent in southern Utah. In his book,
Desert Solitaire, Abbey illustrates how the Arches National Monument evolves throughout time and
including the time he spends there working as a park ranger and observing the change throughout his
adventures. The two thematic concepts I will be incorporating onto his memoir are the urbanization
and development lenses. Throughout his memoir, Abbey ties in many thematic concepts to each other,
but only addressing to these two lenses will give a better description. Thus both urbanization and
development do play a role in the main point Abbey portrays in Desert Solitaire. In the beginning of
his memoir, Abbey shares his own opinion, in which he uses to give a very descriptive explanation on
why urbanization and development are both hazardous but also carry benefits to places like Arches
Mountains. Abbey gets his point down and uses his time in Utah to back up his argument. Desert
Solitaire takes place in a small, lightly populated city in southern Utah called Moab. Edward Abbey s
venture begins when he becomes a park ranger for the Arches National Monument. Pleased by the fact
that the Arches are surrounded only by dry, deserted Canyonlands, Abbey shares in his memoir that
this is his paradise. In addition to his paradise dream, Abbey works twelve miles away from the closest

French Horn Evaluation
Late Bloomer
A good word to describe the first sound that came out of my French horn could be called a screech.
When I first looked at the instrument I originally thought the bell faced upward in the air. You would
never believe that only two years later I was able to sight read pieces of music and preform them in a
matter of an hour during a workshop at Disney world. The quick improvement that I made in my
music ability showed my natural tenacity and persistence.
Growing up I was always around musicians, and music interested me, but I was always steered
towards more academics. I finally got into music in High School. It made me rather nervous because
here I was sitting in a room with people who basically played instruments and sung within the womb,
and I was unable to even read music. So at first I asked my friends who were all music aficionados.
Every second thing that came out of my mouth was a question about music. What was tone? How do I
play a scale? What is moderato? And how on earth was I going to catch up to these kids? So especially
in band I took control and I took my French horn home every weekend and practiced for hours,
determined to meet my high standards. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Computer Input Technologies By Alan Turing
Computer Input Technologies
Introduction The interaction between humans and the machine is a relatively new science. When
considering how the inputs to a computer started out, it is interesting to observe just how little has
changed. For example, the QWERTY keyboard as part of the typewriter invented in the 1870s(2) far
predates the concept of the modern digital computer as described by Alan Turing in 1936(3). Our tools
to interact with our own machines have however been refined to be more convenient for the average
user with interfaces such as optimised USB and layout studied for ergonomy. In recent years, input
technologies have not only been improved but brand new ones have emerged like motion control for
example. The future is bright ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, trackballs are still quite common as scrollwheels in computer mouse devices.
Interestingly, the invention of the computer ball mouse in 1968 sprang directly from the invention of
the trackball. In a sense, the ball mouse is a reversed version of the same device. The trackball rolls on
the surface instead of the user s hands, however the tracking operates in the same way(1). This
innovation in existing technology meant that the handheld type design would later be upgraded as
newer technologies took its place. Today, the ball mouse has been largely replaced by the optical and
laser mouse. These types of mouse devices use LEDs to emit light onto the surface on which it sits,
the reflected light is analysed by a set of photodiodes. Whether the mouse is laser or not depends on if
the LEDs emit coherent light (laser) or not (optical). The main drawback of the optical mouse is that
they only function on opaque and matte surfaces as they depend on the light reflecting the surfaces
imperfections. The precision however is much improved from the ball mouse. Furthermore, less
moving parts means more durability. The mouse really opened up the horizon for user interface
navigation making it a key turning point in the history of input technologies.
The Keyboard
The keyboard has been for decades the main textual input device. In terms

Understand Physical disability Essay
Unit 32 Understand physical Disability 1. Understand the importance of differentiating between the
individual and the disability. 1.1 Explain why it is important to recognize and value an individual as a
person It is important because each person deserves respect and each person has their own individual
needs. Not every person is the same, and treating a person in the exact same way as everyone else may
not be the best way to help show that persons individuality. 1.2 Describe the importance of
recognising and individuals strengths and abilities Helps to recognise what methods or ways are best
suited to help that person. And where further help is needed to help teach or to use their strengths and

Not giving equal opportunities or discrimination. 3.3 Describe steps that can be taken to challenge and
change discriminatory attitudes Educating people on their ignorance can be helpful. Although it is
hard to change someone s opinion if that is how they already think. Starting young educating children
at an earlier age while still in school regarding the issues around discrimination. Never ignoring this
behaviour, challenge it and try and make that person aware of the damage they could be causing, if
within a work place raise the issue with your line manager. 3.4 Describe the impact of disability
legislation on community attitudes and practices Legislation ensures support is put in place to help
with financial and physical needs. Helps ensure action is taken against people who discriminate
others. Helps to recognise a person s disability and ensures they have access to the same resources and
activities that a person without disabilities has access to. Also makes it against the law to discriminate
against people with a disability. 3.5 Describe the effects that having a physical disability can have on a
person s day to day life Can result in people getting mental health problems or anxiety, loss of
freedom or independence. People could become frustrated or angry at having to rely on other people.
Practical problems, such as transport, choice of activities, or accessing building. Loss of self

King Lear Jealousy Quotes
Goneril feels extreme jealousy towards her sister Regan because of the relationship she has formed
with Edmund, a man Goneril is also in love with. Oh, the difference of man and man! To thee a
woman s services are due. My fool usurps my body. (4.2 In this quote we see Gonerils strong feelings
for Edmund, Gloucesters illegitimate son. Although Goneril is currently married to her husband
Albany, she cannot help but fall in love with Edmund. She feels as though Edmund is manly in
comparison to her husband. She knows once she meets Edmund, she could not possibly live without
him. Goneril s strong feelings for Edmund are formed over the fact that Edmund showed Goneril love
and attention, something she has never been shown before. I have ... Show more content on

Lear s neglect towards Goneril has made her into the person that she was, not able to trust anyone and
mistreating of the people closest to her. One way I like this well. But being widow, and my Gloucester
with her, May all the building in my fancy pluck. Upon my hateful life. Another way. The news is not
so tart. I ll read and answer. (4.2.85) Goneril fears that now that the Duke of Cornwall has died, Regan
will form a relationship with Edmund as they are travelling along. Goneril has no trust in anyone, she
fears that her accomplice and friend will form a relationship with the person she loves. She fears that
if this does happen, Edmund will chose Regan since she is now a widow. Unfortunately in the end, her
suspicions were correct. Regan, someone who was once her working partner, has become her biggest
rival. Goneril wishes that Albany was dead so she could have equal chances to be with Edmund.
(aside) I had rather lose the battle than that sister. Should loosen him and me. (5.1.19 20) Goneril

  • 2. Economic, Social, and Political Causes of the Mexican... History of the Americas The Economic, Social, and Political causes of The Mexican Revolution 1840 1910 The Mexican Revolution is one of the most significant historical events in Mexican history. Without the revolution Mexico would not be the democratic country that it is today. The Mexican Revolution is often seen as a standard bearer through which other subsequent Latin American revolutions are interpreted. (Darity) There were several significant events spanning several years that led up to the unrest of the Mexican people resulting in a revolution. For example, the Mexican American War, and The Reform War which was also a civil war really gave way to the people standing up for what they believed in and revolting. More ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Reform War was a civil war between the Mexican people, the conservatives vs. the liberals. With the unhappy reaction of the liberals chaos broke out and Comonfort resigned and Benito Juarez became president. Comonfort died in an ambush in 1863 (Biography in context) With Juarez President the Reform War ended. The liberals considered this a political victory over the conservatives, having one of their own in office. Juarez would free Mexico from the most flagrant remnants of neocolonialism. (Scholes) After the Liberals defeated the conservatives, President Juarez had more to worry about. Some European countries were very upset with Mexico and their unpaid debt with them. They sent troops to Mexico but, they all withdrew themselves when they saw that French dictator Napoleon was planning to overthrow Juarez s government. The overthrow of the Juarez government started the French Intervention in Mexico in 1862. With the help of the United states Juarez managed to gain back control, he became a hero in the eyes of most liberal Mexican s for not backing down and running out the French. It shows us that Baba really cares about Ali and Hassan because he is able of forgiving them even though there is actually nothing to forgive. He is willing to take them back even though they supposedly sold from him. Life here is impossible for us now, Agha sahib. We re leaving. (Hosseini 112) *This is said by Ali to Baba. He is telling Baba it is impossible for Hassan to live around Amir, even though Baba doesn t know what happened. Ali and Hassan have enough pride to live away from someone who doesn t want them around in case would be Amir. This is important because Ali was like a brother to Baba and their lives will change without them around, to Baba more than to Amir. He told him everything, about what Assef and his friends had done to him, about the kite, about me (Hosseini 112) At the end Amir gets what he wanted, he does not have to keep the regret of telling someone of what he did, that is because Hassan told his father, he also gets Hassan and Ali to leave and the best of it is that they did not tell Baba. Pluto s rotation period is 6.387 days, the same as its satellite/moon Charon. Although it is common for a moon to travel in a synchronous orbit with its planet, Pluto is the only planet to rotate synchronously with the orbit of its satellite. Thus being tidally locked, Pluto and Charon continuously face each other as they travel through space. From 1985 to 1990, the Earth lined up with Pluto and Charon to cause and eclipse every Pluto day. This occurrence allowed astronomers to gather a multitude of valuable information about Pluto and its moon. The eclipses lasted as much as four hours and by carefully timing their beginning and ending, measurements for their diameters were taken. Photograph s later taken by the Hubble telescope confirms Pluto s diameter of 1413 miles, and Charon s, at nearly half the size, 728 miles across within one percent accuracy. Astronomers where also able to determine the density of Pluto during the daily eclipses. By discovering the density to be approximately two grams per cubic centimeter, astronomers where able to hypothesize the make up of the planet. They concluded that Pluto is fifty to seventy percent rock with mixed with ice. Astronomers are also confident in the density of Charon. The major purpose of the war was to counter terrorism in response to 9/11 attacks and it was known as Operation Enduring Freedom. Finally, Company Size, Industry, Company Ownership, Organizational Design (Czinkota et al., 2010), and Firm Age are introduced in the model to control for factors beyond relationships that could influence the dependent variable of performance resilience. Data Analysis The research method relies upon the general methodological framework used by Gittell et al. (2006) in the study of the airlines industry resilience to the terrorist attacks of 9/11. This exploratory archival data analysis employs quantitative statistical techniques from the terrorism and international business literature stream. Initially, correlation analysis between the operationalized independent variables, moderating variables, control variables and the dependent variable will be conducted, using Pearson Correlation Coefficients as a measure, to identify and evaluate non causal associations and strengths of relationships between variables. In addition, scatterplots would be created of the variables to determine whether linear relationships exist. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) would be used as the general structure for statistical testing of the conceptual model, shown in Figure 4, using the F test. • 14. Elements Of The Labyrinth Millhauser Introduction There are few tropes that have endured and evolved as much as the labyrinth. From ancient to postmodern times, the labyrinth has evolved from a symbol of divine order to an expression of chaos. Because it is such a flexible symbol, the labyrinth has endured even as the nature of human thought has evolved. This project aims to explore the labyrinthine elements of American writer Steven Millhauser s short fiction. The idea of the labyrinth is demonstratively present in Millhauser s short fiction. However, his usage of the labyrinth is at once the same and different than preceding eras of short fiction. Postmodern short fiction in the 1960 s and 70 s utilized the labyrinthine to draw attention to its own textuality. The labyrinth was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One important characteristic of the labyrinth is its essential interiority. The labyrinth of Greek mythology, built by Daedalus for King Minos of Crete, had a perplexing and imprisoning interior. The complexity of its interior served its function: the imprisonment of the Minotaur a half man and half bull creature. In her book The Idea of the Labyrinth, Penelope Doob traces the evolution of the labyrinth in art, culture and literature from antiquity to the middle ages. Doob observes that the labyrinth of ancient mythology was so perplexing that its maker, Daedalus, could scarcely navigate it (Doob, 36). The confusion and imprisoning nature of the mythological labyrinth points to the trope s inextricable quality: its interior ambages (Doob 66). Likewise, Hermann Kern asserts that the most important feature of the labyrinth [is]...the negative space of the path formed by those lines which determined the pattern of movement (Kern 23). This was written at a time in history when discrimination was rampant. It was then that Napoleon decided to liberate and offer Liberty, Equality and Fraternity to the Jews, Protestants, and other religions as well. He also opened the churches that were closed for years. In this part of the essay, I will talk most about how and why he promoted freedom of religion. br br Napoleon Bonaparte was never that deeply religious. He showed that to everybody during his coronation as the Emperor of France: he took the crown from Pope Pius VII and placed it on his own head. That was a clear indication that religion had nothing to do with Napoleon s coronation. He wanted to prove that France chose him. But there was a contradiction to this when he allowed freedom of religion all over France. Why is this? Is he that religious? We ve just seen how he clearly showed to everybody that religion has nothing to do with him being an Emperor. But, if we dig a little bit deeper, we can actually see that Napoleon didn t just think of himself when he made such laws. Flatfish Mimicry Research Paper Mimicry of other toxic species Thaumoctopus mimicus is said to use imperfect mimicry, defined as the using poor to decent imitations of multiple morphs, rather than strong resemblance to one species (Hanlon et al., 2008; Huffard et al., 2010). As mentioned in the previous section, they replicate the coloration of multiple forms of flatfish, but more dramatic morphs are displayed while individuals are swimming in the mid water range of the water column or while interacting directly with aggressive species (Norman et al., 2001). (2010) was more focused on the evolutionary development of flatfish mimicry and the relation of T. mimicus to other individuals in the family Octopodidae. To determine the phylogenetic relationships regarding flatfish mimicry, researchers analyzed the mitochondrial DNA of other individuals found in what they referred to as the Long Armed Sand Octopus Guild . Researchers factored in a list of attributes associated with the mimic octopus that are believed to result in the unique behaviors it displays: dorsoventrally compressed (flatfish swimming), activity during daylight hours, high contrast coloration. It had been the previous assumption that flatfish swimming was an exaptation of cephalopod locomotion that the mimic octopus developed to be able to move easier after the evolution of its impressively long arms (Huffard et al., 2010). However, genetic evidence showed that the evolution of long arms and flatfish swimming most likely occurred simultaneously in T. mimicus, rendering the previous assumption null and void (Huffard et al., 2010). Further phylogenetic analysis suggests that the development of the mimic octopus s iconic high contrast banded coloration developed as a secondary adaptation in order to further solidify its imitation of toxic flatfishes. The phylogenetic tree compiled by Huffard et al. These crucial influences are the buildup of science on racial hygiene and the policing groups that further shaped and protected the Nazi regime. Science at this time was not distrusted and was viewed as concrete. In 1895, Alfred Ploetz, coined the term racial hygiene (Procter, 15). This term purpose was to consider not just the good of the individual but also the good of the race. When political parties began to dissolve and Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor, these ideals were brought up with him. The need to return to normalcy allowed Hitler to sway public opinion. Hitler implemented policing to anyone who he saw that threatened the Nazi Party. Racial Hygiene is the most influential building block of the Nazi administration that sparked interest around the world before the 1900s. The growth of Racial Hygiene or scientific discrimination was an emitting agenda, but it was also diplomatic in design to reinforce certain power relations as natural with the help of policing programs to navigate into the Nazi Parties direction. • 31. The Carboxylate Group In Tamiflu Additional questions: 1. Why would removing the carboxylate groups result in the compound s activity being nullified? The carboxylate group in Tamiflu provides it with a strong ionic interaction with an arginine residue. This interaction will hold the drug molecule in place in the binding pocket of the enzyme, allowing it to elicit an effect. Removal of this group would result in the arginine Tamiflu interaction being removed, which would result in a poorer affinity for the binding pocket. The Tamiflu molecule will be far less likely to exhibit good binding and therefore the biological effect of the drug would be diminished. 2. Identify the binding groups and their optimal alignment with one another, paying particular attention to the hydrogen bonds. Provide at least one example for each type of interaction. a. Hydrophobic The non polar chain attached to the ether in Tamiflu has a non polar interaction with the side chain of a glutamic acid residue, where the residue fits in between the two side chains of the Tamiflu. b. Hydrogen bonds The amide of Tamiflu forms a hydrogen bond with the guanidine group of an arginine residue. The nitrogen of the guanidine acts as a hydrogen bond donor and the amide of the Tamiflu molecule acts as a hydrogen bond acceptor. • 36. Characteristics Of Merchant Of Venice A Comedy William Shakespeare, widely regarded as the world s greatest playwright, has revolutionized the world of English literature with his plays. Some of these plays are clear cut comedies and tragedies, while others are more ambiguous. The Merchant of Venice is a play that falls under the latter type, and it has been hotly contested whether this literary work should be classified a comedy or a tragedy. However, since the majority of the characters received a happy ending, the abundance of comic relief scenes and characters, and lightheartedness of the plot relative to other Shakespearean works leads me to conclude that The Merchant of Venice is indeed a comedy. One of the characteristics of a comedy is that it usually contains a happy resolution of conflict, and this was definitely reflected in the conclusion of The Merchant of Venice. Happy endings usually pertain to the protagonists or the main characters surviving or outlasting misfortune. Antonio being spared and cleared of any debt he owed Shylock by the Venetian courts (Act IV, scene i) is a prime example of the protagonist receiving satisfactory closure. In the drama building up to the court scene, Antonio s best friend, Bassanio, had cut a deal with the devil as he borrowed money from the shrewd Shylock, with the stipulation that repayment would either be in ducats or a pound of Antonio s flesh (Act I, scene iii). There are more than 20 species of candida yeast that might cause illnesses in people, but the common Candida species is the Candida albicans (Hospenthal Rinaldi, 2015). However, the yeasts are found in small amounts in the mucous membrane and skin, and they do not cause infection, but the overgrowth would lead to infection. Specific drugs and health issues may cause the yeast to overgrow especially in warm and moist body parts leading dangerous symptoms. The signs and symptoms of candidiasis depend on the part of the human body that is infected (Contreras Fuentes, 2013). Health centers in many nations have reported that Candida species cause fungal infections leading to hospitalization of patients. The paper focuses on candidiasis by exploring its causes, epidemiology, types, diagnosis and treatment as well as prevention measures and risk factors. The thesis of the paper is that candidiasis is a fatal disease that can lead to defects and even death. Epidemiology In the United States, Candida is the third cause of nosocomial bloodstream diseases accounting for about 8 10 percent of the cases. The two thematic concepts I will be incorporating onto his memoir are the urbanization and development lenses. When considering how the inputs to a computer started out, it is interesting to observe just how little has changed. For example, the QWERTY keyboard as part of the typewriter invented in the 1870s(2) far predates the concept of the modern digital computer as described by Alan Turing in 1936(3). This innovation in existing technology meant that the handheld type design would later be upgraded as newer technologies took its place. Today, the ball mouse has been largely replaced by the optical and laser mouse. These types of mouse devices use LEDs to emit light onto the surface on which it sits, the reflected light is analysed by a set of photodiodes. Whether the mouse is laser or not depends on if the LEDs emit coherent light (laser) or not (optical). The main drawback of the optical mouse is that they only function on opaque and matte surfaces as they depend on the light reflecting the surfaces imperfections. The precision however is much improved from the ball mouse. Furthermore, less moving parts means more durability.
