Abortion Should NOT Be Legal In The United States
With the presidential election being over and the White House along with the Congress having a
big shift from democratic control to Republican control now we the people bring up questions such
as what s going to happen with gun control now, what about the affordable care act, will gay
marriage stay legal, and finally what about abortion. With new laws that have come through that
limit the time period in which a woman can get an abortion some people may wonder if it will
stay legal much longer especially for such a strong republican government that we have right now
they will not waste time trying to get as much done as I can while there is a strong republican
party in the capital. However with abortion is it such a bad thing that we make that illegal in this
great country.
Now I know with your first argument that it s a mother s choice it s her choice of her body she
is the one who has control she is the parent of whatever is inside of her. The statements maybe
true but if only for certain things like for example if the child wants to jump all over their mother
their mother can say no it is her body her choice she is in control and she is the parent, but that is it
it doesn t have any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The father should also have a say in the abortion but that s not all. If the person that is getting the
abortion is under age then it is also up to the parents of not only the mother but also the father
and even then it is about the child and the child should have a chance at a life and if the family
didn t want the baby they could have gave the baby up for adoption yes i know people say that if
you just throw the kid in a home that they will be there forever and not get adopted. Yes sadly
this is true a lot of kids even now don t get adopted but it would give the world more people to feed
it with new ideas.

How To Write An Essay About The Battle Of Bataan
The Battle of Bataan: The Japanese Arrive What brought America into World War II was the
attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Immediately after the attack, The Japanese began its
many attacks on the the Philippines because it was property of the United States. After these air
attacks, the Japanese fourteenth army invaded the Philippine island of Luzon on December 12
1941. A larger attack, on December 22, 1941, followed in the Lingayen Gulf. The lieutenant of the
Japanese 14th army was General Masaharu Homma. The attack consisted of 43,000 Japanese
soldiers. The Japanese army was able to push back the Northern Luzon Force, commanded by Major
General Jonathan Wainwright. General Douglas Macarthur was the commander of the Philippine
army after being appointed by President Theodore Roosevelt because of his successful contributions
in the past. General MacArthur initiated War Plan Orange , which was the retreat of the United
Statesand the Philippine Army troops to the Bataan Peninsula if the japanese could not be held
back. General Macarthur began moving the supplies to the Bataan Peninsula and General George
M. Parker was in charge of preparing the defenses of the peninsula. As the week passed, Wainwright

Many of the Philippine troops had very little equipment, such as no guns or even shoes. They
were not very well trained either. At the beginning of the attack, they tried to move as much
supplies as they could from the Lingayen Gulf to Bataan, but they were low in transportation.
Many veterans, such as Edwin Ramsey, described the situation as disorganized and chaotic.
Edwin Ramsey said, You don t know what to expect yourself whether or not you re going to be
afraid, whether you re going to be able to stand up to it or not. So there s a great deal in the
beginning that is simply chaotic, and as a matter of fact, war is sort of controlled

Glorification Of Organized Crime
Glorification of criminals is displayed throughout American history. Ranging from old west
outlaws to mass killers, such as the Columbine shooters, idolization of crime and those who
commit crimes is prevalent throughout American society. Some of the most prominent increase in
crime in America was during the 1920 s prohibition era as well as the era of The Great Depression.
Both of these eras viewed the rise of gangsters and organized crime. The growth of organized
crime stemmed from President Woodrow Wilson passing a temporary wartime prohibition in
attempts to save grain after America had entered World War I in 1912. This temporary law set
precedent for Congress to ratify the 18th Amendment on January 29, 1919. Congress later passed...

The disparity of the depression caused a considerable portion of Americans to begin leading a
life of crime in a futile attempt to better their economic hardships. Economic deprivation matched
with the winding down of the bootlegging era caused many criminals turn to loan sharking,
labor racketeering, drug trafficking, as well as gambling and prostitution. However the most
prominent of crimes would have to be robberies and theft as a whole. Criminals tend to be
idolized by those who suffer from inferiority complexes. The criminal is viewed as a defiant
rebel. As Americans lost hope in their government due to poverty, they began to view the legal
system as structure worthy of being defied. Two of the most prominent gangster of the
depression era were Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. The duo are typically viewed as a loving
couple attempting to survive through an economic depression by resorting to committing strings
of robberies. A common saying displayed on multiple media platforms expresses people s desire
for, a Bonnie and Clyde type of love. The love Bonnie and Clyde shared was documented to be both
physically and emotionally abusive. Despite this, Americans desire for love, happiness, fame, and
eternal commitment dilutes Bonnie and Clyde s detestable crimes within the minds

A Student s Right to Their Own Language Interpretive Essay

Should Students be Able to Use the Dialect They Choose? The Conference on College Composition
and Communication discusses two very important and controversial questions within their article
Students Right to Their Own Language : What should the schools do about the language habits of
students who come from a wide variety of social, economic, and cultural backgrounds? (2), and
Should the schools try to uphold language variety, or to modify it, or to eradicate it? (2). While for
academic writing purposes students should be expected to use standard American dialect, it is
important to respect the diversity and various heritages throughout the country by allowing students
to use the dialect they choose when speaking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Allowing students to speak dialects they chose when communicating with peers is acceptable
outside of the classroom and in informal class discussions because there are no requirements that
are necessary to reach within casual communication. If people were not able to speak the dialect
they prefer, we would be rejecting them of their own lifestyles because we would not be allowing
the freedom which the United States promises.
Standard American dialect is necessary in academic writing for three key reasons. First, the ability
to use standard American dialect is a skill that people living in America should obtain because it is
the most spoken and written language across the country. Having the knowledge to use standard
American dialect will be helpful in many different situations, such as in the classroom and business
world. In addition, being able to write using this dialect, will guide in writing a stronger, clearer
paper, as well as ensuring unity between all academic writing. I disagree with the following
statement from Students Right to Their Own Language : We affirm strongly that teachers must
have the experiences and training that will enable them to respect diversity and uphold the right of
students to their own language (3). Teachers should not have to go through an immense amount of
training

Personal Property Ethics
Responsibility in utilizing personal property, as a Christian should following a moderate approach
that considers ways that are holy, just, and loving, explains Hill (2008). Hill defines personal
property involves the assumption of, development, and ownership of a natural resources (2008,

modern property is becoming. As explained by Hill, primeval property was physical however

Compare And Contrast Vans And Havaianas
In a sense, perhaps the most important sense, a brand is a promise. You know what you re going
to get with a well branded product. Geller explains. Even in footwear nowadays, when associating
ourselves into particular social and cultural facets of life, we tend to gravitate to particular brands.
In this report, I intend to comparitively analyze the two shoebrands; Vans and Havaianas. These two
brands started up as classic, practical footwear, but have gradually grown into multi million
companies with great reputations in society. On account of this, I will be conducting research and
comparing the two companies based on the model consumer behaviour.
Firstly, we will look at external factors; such as product and promotion, in marketing. For all
intensive purposes, I will focus on both the male and female demographic.
Vans footwear, is affiliated with a adventurous spirit and youthful assertiveness. Vans is an outdoor,

Elvis Presley s Influence On African American Culture
In the 1950 s and 1960 s, Rock N Roll made a steady influential climb into the blossoming
generations norm. Elvis Presley, The King of Rock, debuted his first number one hit song
Heartbreak Hotel and it climbed steadily to the top of the charts as the number one song in
February of 1956. When Elvis popularity first grew, it sparked outrage through the previous
generations in fears that his music would intertwine cultures. In the 1950s and 1960s, Rock N Roll
was classified as African Americanmusic and those listeners who do not fit that class, would be
frowned upon. Mr. Presley was a Nashville native, who sang hard driving rockabilly, Rock N Roll
dance songs and ballads, and laid a foundation for other rock musicians to follow.
Elvis unique fashion sense influenced younger generations through the years to dress their
snazziest, grease their hair in a 50 s fashion, and influenced how they interact with each other. Elvis

Abstract
Causes of dyslexia or reading disabilities have been hotly debated by researchers and educators.
Knowledge regarding the causes of reading disabilities is important as they define the strategies that
will used to help students with dyslexia learn. Dyslexia is caused by differences in the information
processing patterns of learning disability students. Language and phonological skills have been
found to be the main cause of reading problems. This paper presents a critique and summarizes a
paper dealing with phonological skills and how they affect the ability to read. Besides this the

Therefore, an educator needs to know the areas to focus that will produce the best results and help
the student learn. Results from various studies have shown that besides intelligence the ability to
sequence, analyze, and remember sounds are the biggest contributors to reading achievement
(Smith, 2003). In view of these finding it is important to isolate the fields within this area that will
have the greatest impact and help direct the learning strategies. A study along these lines was
conducted by Melby LervГҐg, Lyster, amp; Hulme. Melby LervГҐg, Lyster, amp; Hulme (2012)
conducted a meta analytic study to study the relationship between phonological skills and student s
reading abilities. Under phonological skills mainly three factors were considered. They are verbal
short term memory, phonemic awareness, and rime awareness. The authors compared children
with dyslexia with the same age and reading level control group of children to measure the affect
and strength of correlation between verbal short memory, rime awareness and phonemic awareness
on a child s word reading abilities.
Summary
Various researchers have found that there is a relationship between phonemic awareness, rime
awareness and verbal short term memory. Melby LervГҐg, Lyster, amp; Hulme (2012) wanted to

Because of his faith, the theme of morality in his short story is very prominent. The theme of

the sky, the old house, and the dirt road. The grandmother s hat was a symbol of her morality.

Rhetorical Analysis Of ASPCA Advertising
Throughout our lives we have most likely witnessed hundreds of commercials that try to persuade
us to donate money. A great amount of advertisements exist to persuade their audiences to donate to
a specific organization our cause. The ASPCA is an organization that works to rescue animals from
abuse, pass humane laws, and share resources with shelters nationwide. The ASPCA has many
different campaign commercials that all have a singular purpose. The ASPCA announcement
featuring Sarah Mclachlanthat vividly portrays images of many different animals, is probably the
most well known of all of the ASPCA commercials.
The first scene in the advertisement is a trembling dog in a cage that appears to be heartbroken and
terrified. From the first scene ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ASPCA announcement uses the rhetorical devices, logos and ethos to convince its audience
to donate. Logos is the appeal to logic, and ethos is the appeal to morals. The commercial states
facts about how thousands of animals are abused every day. It states that a small donation of only
eighteen dollars a month can make a big difference by providing many different forms of aid to the
animals. The ASPCA advertisement translates this to sixty cents a day to show how small the
donation really is. This is somewhat of a logical and ethical appeal. It appeals logically to the
audience because for just a small monetary donation the viewer can help save abused and
neglected animal from their abusers and provide medical care, food, shelter and love. This
shows that the donation can be used in many essential ways to care for the animal, and that their
donation is responsible for giving the animals a second chance. This too is an ethical appeal
because donating will make the viewer feel like a good, virtuous person because they
contributed to an important cause. One the other hand if they don t decide to donate they may a
have a burden on their conscience because not that much money is needed to help make a big
difference. In other words the viewer may feel like an unethical and bad person. The
advertisement goes on to state that if you donate then you will receive a welcome kit that
contains a t shirt, wristband, and a photo of an animal that has been given a second chance
because of you. All of this is a further amplification of the logical reason to donate to the ASPCA.
The advertisement also uses ethos by having the Grammy winning artist Sarah Mclachlan as the
speaker. Sarah seems to speak very truly and caringly about the ASPCA as she pets a dog that s in
her lap. This makes the audience feel like Sarah truly cares about the treatment of animals. As a

Understanding Library Impact On Student Learning
Many college decisions alone are made upon the evaluation of a campus facilities, most importantly,
the library; the central spot students meet and attain their studies. The Watauga campus of Caldwell
Community College and Technical Institute has been neglected and is in dire need of a more
sophisticated and modern academic library. Academic libraries benefit students, as well as faculty
members. They offer a place for students studying alone or with a group, provide reference
materials, and in some snazzy locations, a place to get a cup of Joe. Education is the basis of
personal growth and professional success and a library is a wonderful place to begin this journey.
According to Derek Rodriguez in the scholarly journal, Understanding Library Impacts on Student
Learning, libraries define, develop, and measure outcomes that contribute to institutional
effectiveness and apply findings for purposes of continuous improvement (7). Libraries serve to be
a very quiet and beneficial place of study for students whose home lives conflict with their
education. But what happens when a person s school doesn t have a proper facility? Many students
at Caldwell Community Collegeare locals to Boone, North Carolina meaning the majority live at

Stress And The Immune System Essay
Stress And The Immune System
The immune system is a very important part of our bodily functions as its main function is to
protect the body against millions of antigens, which attack our cells and try to reproduce viruses
and diseases. The immune system can protect the body in three different ways, in which are:
1. It creates a barrier that prevents the antigens from initially entering the body.
2. If the antigens do manage to enter the body, then your immune system will try to detect the virus
and abolish it before it begins to spread.
3. If the virus does reproduce and begins to cause problems, your immune system is then
responsible for eliminating it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have also found that there are strong links between prolonged stress and disorders, mentally
and physically. Kiecolt Glaser et al 1995 also carried out research into the relationship between
Stress and the Immune System.
Kiecolt Glaser et al 1995 =========================
Aims
The aim of this experiment was to determine the effects of stress on the immune system. This was
determined by analysing how quickly a person s wound healed. It naturally is clearly difficult to
create stress within a group of participants to examine how stress does affect your immune system.
Hence Kiecolt Glaser required seeking a group of participants in which naturally have high levels
of chronic stress.
Procedures
Kiecolt Glaser et al 1995 used a group of women who were caring for relatives suffering from a rare
disease called senile dementia. This responsibility has been known to be associated with chronic
stress.
Kiecolt Glaser et al used a matched participants design, which is where the participants are matched
together based on for example age and height. A volunteer sample was used as the participants were
recruited using advertisements.
There were thirteen women aged between forty seven and eighty one year and who were all carers
and so they were placed in the experimental group. An additional thirteen

Analysis of Mark DrolsboughВґs Deaf Again
In the autobiography Deaf Again, Mark Drolsbaugh writes about his life being born hearing,
growing up hard of hearing, to eventually becoming deaf. By writing this book, he helps many
people view from his perspective on what it is like for someone to struggle trying to fit in the
hearing society. Through his early years, his eyes were closed to the deaf world, being only
taught how to live in a hearing world. Not only does the book cover his personal involvement, but
it covers some important moments in deaf history. It really is eye opening because instead of just
learning about deaf cultureand deaf history, someone who lived through it is actually explaining
their experiences.

A major turning point in the authors life was when he attended Gallaudet University. At

born underwater having to live in a glass bubble; someone who is unfortunately an outcast from
the rest. But with the help of special scuba diving gear, you had the ability to interact and swim
with the other fish. Although the scuba gear was accommodating in many ways, it was heavy and
uncomfortable, and as much as it helped you interact with the fish, you never were able to swim

Shale Gas Argumentative Essay
To make a good article, you are supposed to have a good claim, evidence, and reasoning. You
have to make a stronger article that is better than all the others. Out of these two articles, The
Benefits of Shale Gas and Stop the Fracking! , Stop the Fracking presents the stronger argument
because of their evidence, claim, and reasoning. The Benefits of Shale gas uses relevant evidence
to support his topic. Mostly in the article, he talks about what shale gas is. It says things such as
Shale gas is a type of natural gasfound under a Shale rock. That has nothing to do with the benefits
of it.It talks about this nonsense for about 3 to four paragraphs. In the last paragraph, it talks about

Anthem For The Underdog Analysis
This has been one of the hardest papers I actually had to write for there are so many songs and
events. Most would say I have a somewhat normal life during this last decade. With the War on
Terror started in 2003, I was in high school at Goose Creek High School. During this time I was
careless, childish, prideful, stubborn, and somewhat idiotic. I dropped out of high schooland became
a bum. Eventually I grew up a little and decided to go to Job Corp in Bristol, TN. I attended there
GED and trade program which I graduated with both. After graduation in 2006, I joined the Army
six months later. The song that comes to mind is Anthem for the Underdog by 12 Stones. The song

Though I had grown up a bit, I always had a set way of thinking which made me take everything

there is what I saw and reality. Luckily reality won out. Though I faced many challenges from
mortars and rockets, at that time the most challenging was learning how to deal with people. At
the end the tour I had changed and became colder with a cruel way of looking at life with a mean
sense of a humor that somewhat shielded me from others. The song that came with that time in
my life would be Goodbye for Now by P.O.D. The first verse of the song truly describes how I felt

Sunshine Noodles And Me Analysis
In 2015, almost everyone has experienced cancer taking the life of a loved one, or watched a family
member or friend struggle with the infamous disease. Throughout the country, there are several
memorials and holidays that remember cancer survivors and their journey to fight their sickness.
June 23 is the national holiday raising awareness to breast cancer, and the color pink the official
hue for breast cancer awareness. On Tuesday KLCS TV PBS Los Angeles will honor victims and
survivors of cancer with the dГ©but of the personal and heartfelt film Sunshine, Noodles and Me.
The documentary film follows a woman s tireless effort to get well day to day and, captures her
miraculous survival to beat the sickness. The feature is more than a story about someone living
with cancer and making doctor s visits but gives a playbook on how to overcome the days when
you feel like you might not have anything left to give. Sunshine, Noodles and Me, resonates not
only with the sick and shut in but also helps those family and friends that need moral support to
see their love ones through a difficult time. This piece honestly celebrates the people who
survived and is an inspiration for people recently diagnosed. What really gives the story it s charm
is Cheryl finding out she was diagnosed with Stage IIA breast cancer just three days before her

My Last Duchess Harlotry Analysis
The poem My Last Duchess by Robert Browning gives a haunting look into the thoughts of a
possible murderer. From the first reading, one can deduce that the Last Duchess was murdered by
the Duke. While the motive for the murder is not blatantly expressed, I believe that the Duke
became aware of his wife s rampant infidelityand that this drove him to murderhis Duchess.
Throughout the poem the Dukemakes use of suggestive language to allude to his former wife s
lack of commitment. The Duchess exploits, are not lost on the Duke as he frequently
acknowledges it throughout the poem. So, ...twas not/ Her husband s presence only, called that
spot/ Of joy into the Duchess cheek... (lines 13 15) is not an innocent expression describing a coy
Duchess, but what I argue is an allusion to the Duchesses harlotry. Perhaps the most obvious
suspect for an accomplice to the Duchess adultery is FrГ Pandolf. The Duke identifies the friar as a
flirt who makes advances towards his wife. The Duke provides examples of the Friars flirts. One
such come on is that of the friar telling the Duchess that she wears too much and bears too little
skin: Her mantle laps/Over my Lady s wrist too much (line 16 17). To such a pass the Duke said
his Duchess would welcome, if not appease such lewd comments. The Duke seems hesitant to
explain his former wife s behavior to the wedding negotiator: ...She had/A heart how shall I say?
too soon made glad (lines 21 22) This unwillingness in description indicated by Browning s use
of dashes leads to the notion of a more sultry reaction than simply a heart made glad but rather a
heart won over. As hesitation in speech is often used by those who are trying to avoid the social
ramifications for whatever they are about to say, we can assume that the Duke does not want to
openly admit to the Duchess cheating as it could give away the motivation for the Duchess absence.
As if one affair was not embarrassing enough for the Duke, he alludes to the Duchess flirtatious
nature as ...she liked whate er/ She looked on, and her looks went everywhere... (lines 23 24) This
includes a man who encroached upon their property and gave the Duchess cherries a fruit whose
lascivious nature goes back

In the Philippines, pancit is a traditional food to bring during new years and a birthday. The
reason noodles are always present during special occasions is to represent the belief of

Another reason, I bring up noodles is also because of the etiquette of eating in any occasion. It is
expected that you should wait to be seated, do not be the first to enter, and another one we used

Throughout The History Of The World, People Have Thought
Throughout the history of the world, people have thought of new and innovative ways to
communicate. In the past, people used smoke signals, telegrams, home telephones, and car
telephones. Now the primary form of communication typically occurs on a cell phone. Cell phones
have improved and developed a significant amount over the years. In 1973, the first cell phone, the
Motorola Dyna Tac, hit the market. It weighed an astonishing two pounds, and only had one feature
voice calls. Fast forward to the present day, most consumers not only own cell phones, but they own
smartphones. These smartphones are now capable of incredible things. Features such as text

The study concluded that cell phone conversations and texting conversation both distracted the
pedestrians by delaying their overall response times. This research suggests that both types of
phone usage are unsafe to participate in while attempting to cross a street, and have the potential
to lead to an unsuccessful crossing attempt. Secondly, cell phones are a huge culprit in distracted
driving. Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of collisions in the United States. The
drivers with the least behind the wheel experience, teens and young adults, are the primary
culprits of driving while distracted. The average time it takes to read a text message is 5
seconds. If a person is driving at 55 mph, looking away for that mere 5 seconds is equivalent to
not looking while crossing the entire length of a football field. Granted, there are things other than
cell phones that distract people while driving, but cell phones still play a vital roll in the
distracted driving scene. In a study conducted by Sumie Leung, Rodney Croft, and Melinda
Jackson, the effect of mobile phone usage and alcohol consumption on driving performance are
compared. The study involved twelve adults who participated in a stimulated driving environment
either using their phones for a variety of tasks or consuming alcohol directly prior to driving. The
researchers allowed for a one week washout period between the two different activities. When

Dangers Of Earthquakes
1. What are some of the dangers of having an earthquake in large cities? There are many significant
dangers of having earthquakes in large cities such as
Large amounts of people being at risk
Lots of large structures such as buildings
Set off landslides
Tsunamis
The devastation of the Earthquake can differ depending on the location and environment of the
country the Earthquake occurs. Countries that have fault lines close to the ocean are more at risk
of having large Tsunamis. These waves can reach speeds of up to 500 kilometres per hour and
cause massive devastation to anything in their path (ABC 2017). Some places such as New
Zealand are more likely to have things such as landslides since the country has large amounts of
hills and countryside.
2. What are 2 ways to make building that survive earthquakes? You may include a diagram to

keep them standing. Earthquakes present a lateral/sideways, load to the building structure that is a
bit more complicated to prepare for. One way to make a simple structure more resistant to a quake
is to tie the walls, floor, roof, and foundations into a rigid box that holds together when shaken by a
quake (Imagination Station 2017)
2. Using materials that can bend without breaking helps make buildings more shock absorbent.

Not Business As Usual Essay
Ethics Difficult to define, ethical responsibility is the ability to recognize, interpret and act upon
multiple principles and values according to the standards within a given field and/or context
(Investopedia LLC., 2015). Social responsibility is the concept that businesses develop a positive
relationship to the society and environment, which they operate; and not focus, solely on
maximizing profits (Stan Mack, 2015). Not Business As Usual is a documentary that explores the
beginnings of conscious capitalism and its unintentional price of success. The film offers an
alternative view of businesses by tracking the movement of a few entrepreneurs that aspire to
include social and environmental considerations in addition to seeking profit in their businesses. A
free market for goods and services, capitalism is substantial. It drives innovation, progress, and
prosperity. However, should profit be the only metric to measure success? The introductory of the

Disappearance Of Absence Of Malice, By Megan Carter
My main take away from Absence of Malice was the power journalists have over the lives of the
people they write about. When Megan Carter wrote about Tommy Gallagher in the paper, she
affected his life in a big way by saying he was under investigation for the disappearance of Joey
Diaz. She did not know him or know if he was involved in the disappearance of Joey Diaz, but
she told the whole world that he was being investigated. In today s media climate being
announced as investigated for a crime makes people automatically assume you are most likely
guilty. Someone s life can be ruined if people suspect them of a major crime, and Tommy
Gallagher s life is ruined. Gallagher s business is brought to a standstill because the union won t let

The Passionate Shepherd Of His Love By Christopher Marlowe
Since the beginning of humankind, people have sought partners to share their lives with.
Adam himself being lonely and destitute was paired with Eve to share in all life s joys and
tribulations. Many would agree that life is best spent in the company of another and without
companionship, our existence would be dull and wearisome. The Passionate Shepherd to His Love
by Christopher Marlowe is a pastoral poem published in 1599 where a man attempts to find
companionship because he is lonely. Marlowe creates a majestic rural world encompassed by
natural beauty in which the Shepherd attempts to court a presumably young woman. The Nymph s
reply to the Shepherd by Sir Walter Raleigh was written in response to The Passionate Shepherd to
His Love in 1600, one year after its publication. This Story takes place in the same area as the
previous poem but is now narrated by the Shepherds love interest rather than the Shepherd himself.
With both poems having different speakers insight is gained into the thought process of both the
Nymph and the Sheppard. Using this information it can be ascertained that the Nymph and the
Shappard are incompatible because they have different viewpoints on love and its obtainment. The
Shepherd does not offer acceptable terms to the Nymph, his principles are inconsistent with her
own, and he is a romantic while she is a realist. One desires the life of those in the garden of Eden
while the other denies its existence. Marlow opens The

Children Of A Lesser God
The film Children of a Lesser God explores the relationship between a speech pathologist and
deaf custodian. James Leeds s perspective on his job s objective is challenged and Sarah Norman
fights her past s torments. James and Sarah start a romance wrought with arguments and
misunderstandings. As their bond progresses, James learns what it means to be deaf. James Leeds
is a speech pathologist who has worked in multiple top rated schools. In his classes, he tries to
encourage his students to speak instead of using sign language(Children of a Lesser God). He
believes that to function successfully in a hearing society, deaf people must be able to speak.
James is an excited, encouraging teacher to his pupils. He listens to music and other activities to
make it easier for his students to speak (Children of a Lesser God). With other students in his
school, he encourages them to speak even if it is profanities toward him. James is an active,
positive teacher. He spends one on one time with his students and plays basketball and other games
with them (Children of a Lesser God). Although James wants what he thinks is best for his
students, Sarah Norman teaches him not everyone wants to speak aloud. Sarah interests James
because, although she has graduated, she remains a silent custodian (Children of a Lesser God). As
she is intelligent, James cannot understand why she only signs rather than speaks; how can
someone so smart not see the practicality of speaking in a hearing world?

Italian Neorealism Genre
During World War II many films in Italy the Italian community created a new type of genre for
that specific decade called Italian Neorealism. The Neorealism genre was a style of film
characterized by stories done by the poor and working class. These movies were typically filmed
on location meaning not in a studio but rather at a real place and used nonprofessional actors. The
films themselves contended with the difficulty of life post World War II. The early films were
about social issues and war. Director Roberto Rossellinis created a movie during the Neorealist time
called RomeOpen City which was released in 1945. The movie shows a deeply moving portrait of
Rome during the last couple years of the war, with Germany occupying the city and Allied forces
slowly closing in. The filmwas made on whatever film stock Rossellini could gather up in the post
war Italian economy. It was shot in the streets of Rome with a kind of documentary realism that
would show an even greater impact to this story.
Rome Open City for me personally was a very amusing movie to watch because I ve never
watched a foreign movie before and it was something different to see especially back in 1945
when the war was going on. For me it s incredible how this movie did so well during a time of
tragedy and yet movies here not in the US can t even get a decent rating. I did on the other hand
have a bit of a hard time following the movie because the lyrics that were given to the movie in
english weren t that amazing I feel like if I spoke Italian or if it was remastered into a english
film then i d love it even more. The film was divided into two parts. The first half focused on the
daily lives of the resistance fighters living in Rome. Francesco works for a communist
newspaper, he also helps a group of militant anti Nazi fighters, led by his friend Giorgio.
Francesco s fiancГ©e, the Pina is involved in the struggle as well she helps create riots against the
shops that control food rations and keep the people of the city from getting enough to eat. One of
the major things I loved about this film was how Rossellini balances the film s darker moments
with surprising humorous touches, especially when using the priest Don Pietro. The Part that

George Orwell s Politics And The English Language
In his essay Politics and the English Language, George Orwell argues that the English language
becomes ugly and inaccurate because our thoughts are foolish, but the slovenliness of our
language makes it easier for us to have foolish thoughts. Orwell stresses the need to fight against
lazy and vague language. To make his argument, Orwell separates proper use of language
devices. He uses a simile that enhances the old fashioned trends with the modern age trends. The
abuse of language is a sentimental archaism, like preferring candles to electric light or hansom
cabs to aeroplanes. The English language can be old fashioned and trendy at the same time. A
certain group of people may use a word simply because someone of higher status made it sound
elegant. Trends are followed by bad habits. Therefore, a trend may cause a domino effect. Orwell

Ethical Ethics Of Ethical Hacking
Abstract
In today s interconnect world the threats posed by hackers is growing. One of many tools
organizations have at their disposal is a unique group of hackers. Ethical or White Hat Hackers
intent is to discover vulnerabilities from a malicious attacker s viewpoint. Ethical hacking involves
the same tools, tricks, and techniques that malicious hackers utilize. White Hat Hackers use
penetration testing in order to test the security of an organizations communications infrastructure.
The one difference is White Hat hackers have the organizations permission to test the vulnerability
of the organizations systems. Ethical hacking is one part of an organizations overall information

A person only needs to look at the news daily to see that not one person or organization is safe
from the threat posed by hackers. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) information
stolen recently only highlights the threat of such actors. The OPM hack took personal records
for any government employee whom had a security clearance provided by the United States
government. The infringement of personnel data by a group of hackers only raises the concern
of privacy for a majority of security clearance holders. Organizations have to look at all options
to securing networks and data to ensure the security mechanisms that are in place stand up to
persistent threats. Most organizations can spend extraordinary amounts of money to secure data
and networks, but still leave vectors that a hacker can exploit. Once all security aspects are in
place a good resource is then to bring in ethical hackers or White Hat hackers in to test the security
of the system. The goal of ethical hacking is to uncover vulnerabilities from an adversary s point of
view so the security system can be improved. Ethical hacking should be part of the organizations
overall information risk management program, which allows for constant security improvements.
In the security life cycle, ethical hacking can be viewed as a security assessment. Ethical hacking

Montagu And Capulet In William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Once upon a time there lived in Verona two great families named Montagu and Capulet. They
were both rich, and I suppose they were as sensible, in most things, as other rich people. But in
one thing they were extremely silly. There was an old, old quarrel between the two families, and
instead of making it up like reasonable folks, they made a sort of pet of their quarrel, and would
not let it die out. So that a Montagu wouldn t speak to a Capulet if he met one in the street nor a
Capulet to a Montagu or if they did speak, it was to say rude and unpleasant things, which often
ended in a fight. And their relations and servants were just as foolish, so that street fights and
duels and uncomfortablenesses of that kind were always growing out of the Montagu and
Capulet quarrel. Now Lord Capulet, the head of that family, gave a party a grand supper and a
dance and he was so hospitable that he said anyone might come to it except (of course) the
Montagues. But there was a young Montagu named Romeo, who very much wanted to be there,
because Rosaline, the lady he loved, had been asked. This lady had never been at all kind to
him, and he had no reason to love her; but the fact was that he wanted to love somebody, and as
he hadn t seen the right lady, he was obliged to love the wrong one. So to the Capulet s grand
party he came, with his friends Mercutio and Benvolio. Old Capulet welcomed him and his two

Leamon, Lim, Kelly, Hales, 2006).
There are also some gender differences experienced by those with bipolar disorder. Women tend
experience bipolar disorder different from men. Nivoli et al. (2011) reported that in adult onset
bipolar disorder, women generally experience an onset of depression and overall depressive
predominance. In addition, they reported that women tend to experience a higher rate of psychotic
features and suicidality associated with depression. However, men tend to experience higher rates
of comorbid substance abuse and engage in more violent attempts of suicide.
Youth with bipolar disorder tend to experience persistent disease well into their late adolescent
years and adulthood (Wozniak et al, 2010). Individuals with childhood and adolescent onset as
compared to adult onset, tend to be highly correlated with specific illness characteristics including
more a severe course of disease, comorbid anxiety disorders, at least 10 additional lifetime mood
episodes, substance use disorders, and

Adult Raccoons
When a mother raccoon sees an uncapped chimney, she sees a perfect nursery. It s a safe and
sheltered place to give birth to and raise her young until they are able to get around on their own.
The fireplace chimney is usually preferred because the horizontal smoke shelf is a convenient
size to nestle with her kits, but she may also use the chimney venting a furnace. ** We
recommenced that you never use smoke or fire to drive animals out of chimneys! You will kill
young raccoons not mature enough to climb and may even kill adults.** The good news for
people who don t welcome a nursery in their home is that the family will move out on its own. If
you know you re dealing with only adult raccoons, you can use humane harassment techniques to
get them to move out. Put a cap on it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Never attempt to install a chimney cap until you are certain that all animals have vacated the
chimney. Shine a light up the flue to make sure there are no raccoons on the damper and smoke
shelf. Next, check the chimney flue from the roof (or have a chimney sweep do it) to make sure
no animals are present. As soon as the raccoons are gone, call a certified chimney sweep to clean
your chimney of all nesting debris, and install a chimney cap. If more immediate and direct
intervention is required to evict raccoons, then we strongly recommend hiring professional like us
to help. Evicting a raccoon can be difficult. There are potential safely risks to the homeowner and
humane concerns for the raccoons if the eviction isn t done

Communication and Personality in Negotiation
Over the years, negotiation has been a tactic used for different situations whether personal or
professional. In theory, negotiation concepts and terms have been used to understand and analyze
the purpose of negotiation by evaluating different characteristics. To better understand the concept
of negotiation, the roles of communication and personality in negotiation and how they contributed
to or detracted from the negotiation is analyzed. For example, a scenario is used further into this

On a whole, conflict is what leads to negotiation in regard to solving a problem for a win win
situation.
Scenario
As mentioned in the above, negotiation has been a tactic used for different situations whether
personal or professional. In this scenario, a sales representative at ADT security Systems was
contacting a previous ADT customer who has an inactive alarm in their home. In addition, when
the customer was contacted, the sales rep asked the customer if they wanted to be reactivated
for free as a part of a special promotion that ADT was offering. As a result, the customer was very
perceptive because of constant bad experiences with ADT as a security service provider. This
customer s bad experience was based on equipment not working, alarm keep on going off when
there wasn t anyone breaking in, and having low battery all the time. Because of these poor
happenings, the customer went to the competition of ADT which is brinks as a security service
provider.
Furthermore, the customer told the sales representative that he would go back to ADT if he could
get a credit towards a new alarm system or a lower monthly than what he is currently paying with
brinks. The customer pays $25.99 with brinks based on just monitoring. Being in sales, the sales
representative asked the customer if maintenance was included in the monitoring charge

The Life of Steve Jobs
On October 5, 2011, a famous personality Steve Jobs left his technology. He was a technologist,
businessman and a scientist. He passed away due to his Metastatic Insulinoma cancer. Jobs
worked and co founded Apple Incorporation. He was fond of working as Apple CEO. Jobs kept his
position as a CEO and worked till the last day to keep his company motivated: I have always said if
there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple s CEO, I
would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come. ( Steve Jobs).
Jobs was born in San Francisco, California on February 24, 1955, to his father, Abdul Fattah and
mother Joanne Carole. His biological parents family objected to his birth, so later he was
adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. Since his childhood, Jobs was interested in electronics and
technologies because his father worked as a mechanic. He kept Jobs busy rebuilding electronics.
Later, Jobs and his family moved to Mountain View, California to attend school. He attended
Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. Steve Jobs was never interested in studies and
dropped out from the school ( Steve Jobs ).
People still miss Job because he was a visionary. He had the vision to see new technology. He
changed the technologies of the world. He came up with a new operating system Macintosh
(MAC) in 1976. Later, he came up with the iPhone in June 2007. Everyone was amazed by this

Cultural Awareness Of Sub-Saharan Africa
What is culture, one might ask? According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, culture is the
customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group or the
characteristic features of everyday existence (as diversions or a way of life} shared by people in a
place or time (Culture). Five major characteristics that define a culture include culture is learned,
culture is shared, culture is symbolic, culture is all encompassing, and culture is integrated. Culture
depends on the human capacity for cultural learning that encompasses shared rules for conduct and
that are dependent upon symbols. Cultures can be integrated by using social and economic forces,
core values, and key symbols (Mirror for Humanity,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Savannas have wet and dry seasons and go from extremes like drought and fires ignited by
lightning. Lastly, tropical woodlands have a more defined dry season with hot temperatures
(Global Warming). One of the poorest regions in Africa, the Sub Saharan region has suffered
throughout the years while being labeled with some of the least developed countries in the world.
Diseases like malaria have struck this area hard. In 2007, the population of this portion of Africa
was 800 million, with a growth rate of 2.3%. Many of the countries in this region have very high
fertility rates with more than 40% of the population in this region 15 years of age or younger.
Infant mortality, HIV/Aids, and other figures are also astounding. Because this region is lacking
infrastructures, this stifles their economic growth. However, this region does export many minerals,
like gold and bauxite. Universities located within the Sub Saharan region experienced triple growth
in enrollment from 1991 2005. Many of those college educated students are now coming to
countries like the United States and Europe to live and work. This region of the world includes
about 1,000 languages spoken. The causes for conflicts in modern day Africa cannot be understood
without an appreciation of the struggle between traditional African culture and its clashes with
Muslim and European cultures. Understanding Africa s triple

The Effect Of Outdoor Two Stroke Power Equipment
Abstract:
The emissions from two stroke outdoor power equipment, light terrestrial vehicles, and marine
vehicles are a significant detriment to air quality, human health, and the environment. Due to the
mechanical nature two stroke engines operations, engines running on fuel oil mixtures that have
been blended from biologically based oils generate far less Green House Gas emissions than two
stroke engines running fuel oil mixtures blended from more traditional petroleum based outdoor
power equipment oil. Preliminary results of previous research support the hypothesis that
equipment running on bio synthetic fuel oil blends emits drastically lower amounts of
Hydrocarbons, Nitrogen Oxides, and Carbon Monoxide than equipment operating exclusively on
petroleum based fuel oil mixtures. In addition, qualitative factors such as the color and smell of the
exhaust fumes, and differences in engine performance have also been monitored and recorded.
These data have been gathered in two separate and complimentary stages where the results were
accumulated, condensed, and analyzed with the objective of discovering differences in the
emissions and engine performance of Outdoor Two Stroke Power Equipment (OPE) running on
petroleum based oil versus bio synthetic oil.

The Argument Of Clash Of Civilians By Samuel Huntington
In the argument Clash of Civilians written by Samuel Huntington, he states that Western conflicts
arose between nation states and ideologies. During the cold war the First, Second, and Third
Worlds were divided by their status. Post Cold War it no longer mattered. International policies shift
from Western being the main focus to focusing on the West and non Western civilizations. The
differences in civilization when it comes to their culture, customs, religion, ethnicity, have been
there for centuries and after the Cold Warthe politics among states is much less fundamental.
Civilization is far more fundamental today and throughout time, civilization identity will continue
to be a major component.
Huntington also does not see westernization as a desirable surge that engulfs world politics.
Conflict is very natural and history proves that argument. The author takes away focus from states
as a foundation of war in the future and more on conflict between major culture regions. He states
that peoples cultural and religious identities will be the primary bases of conflict post cold war. The
world is becoming a smaller place with modernization and technology; thus, relations between
people of different civilizations deepen consciousness and awareness. Post cold war, the role of the
Western society enhances the growth of civilization. Unlike Fukuyamas argument, Huntington
states that cultural characteristics and differences are more complex to solve than political and
economical

Evaluation Of The Business Game Simulation
1.Introduction The purpose of this report is to outline the evaluation of the business game
simulation SimVenture, which aims to offer a simulated experience of how organisations work
enabling skills and knowledge It also reflects the use of relevant entrepreneurial theories into
practice while making decisions in the business and clearly stating the financial achievements at the
end of it.. The report evaluates team performance and decision making within the perspective of
results achieved in the simulation at the end of three virtual years. 2.Group Work We knew that
teamwork is all about being able to work smoothly and efficiently within a group. Doing this we
draw on a number of other skills, the ability to encourage and inspire, to compromise and ignore our
own ego, communication and other interpersonal skills such as negotiation, influence, advising and
interpreting. 2.1 Leadership and team working The actual work on the SimVenture simulation was
spread over ten meetings, from February to April, to integrate it in the general learning experience.
In order to facilitate efficient teamwork and mutual understanding, we did research on Belbin self
perception inventory, redistribute the questionnaire and prepare the interpretation materials for
each team member. After this, we checked and compare the results and each of us exercised its
role as he knows better, from co ordinator, shaper, resource investigator or team worker (Belbin,

Abortion Should NOT Be Legal In The United States With the presidential election being over and the White House along with the Congress having a big shift from democratic control to Republican control now we the people bring up questions such as what s going to happen with gun control now, what about the affordable care act, will gay marriage stay legal, and finally what about abortion. With new laws that have come through that limit the time period in which a woman can get an abortion some people may wonder if it will stay legal much longer especially for such a strong republican government that we have right now they will not waste time trying to get as much done as I can while there is a strong republican party in the capital. However with abortion is it such a bad thing that we make that illegal in this great country. Now I know with your first argument that it s a mother s choice it s her choice of her body she is the one who has control she is the parent of whatever is inside of her. The statements maybe true but if only for certain things like for example if the child wants to jump all over their mother their mother can say no it is her body her choice she is in control and she is the parent, but that is it it doesn t have any ... Yes sadly this is true a lot of kids even now don t get adopted but it would give the world more people to feed it with new ideas. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Immediately after the attack, The Japanese began its many attacks on the the Philippines because it was property of the United States. After these air attacks, the Japanese fourteenth army invaded the Philippine island of Luzon on December 12 1941. A larger attack, on December 22, 1941, followed in the Lingayen Gulf. The lieutenant of the Japanese 14th army was General Masaharu Homma. The attack consisted of 43,000 Japanese soldiers. The Japanese army was able to push back the Northern Luzon Force, commanded by Major General Jonathan Wainwright. General Douglas Macarthur was the commander of the Philippine army after being appointed by President Theodore Roosevelt because of his successful contributions in the past. General MacArthur initiated War Plan Orange , which was the retreat of the United Statesand the Philippine Army troops to the Bataan Peninsula if the japanese could not be held back. Ranging from old west outlaws to mass killers, such as the Columbine shooters, idolization of crime and those who commit crimes is prevalent throughout American society. Some of the most prominent increase in crime in America was during the 1920 s prohibition era as well as the era of The Great Depression. Both of these eras viewed the rise of gangsters and organized crime. The growth of organized crime stemmed from President Woodrow Wilson passing a temporary wartime prohibition in attempts to save grain after America had entered World War I in 1912. The disparity of the depression caused a considerable portion of Americans to begin leading a life of crime in a futile attempt to better their economic hardships. Economic deprivation matched with the winding down of the bootlegging era caused many criminals turn to loan sharking, labor racketeering, drug trafficking, as well as gambling and prostitution. However the most prominent of crimes would have to be robberies and theft as a whole. Criminals tend to be idolized by those who suffer from inferiority complexes. The criminal is viewed as a defiant rebel. As Americans lost hope in their government due to poverty, they began to view the legal system as structure worthy of being defied. Two of the most prominent gangster of the depression era were Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. The duo are typically viewed as a loving couple attempting to survive through an economic depression by resorting to committing strings of robberies. The Conference on College Composition and Communication discusses two very important and controversial questions within their article Students Right to Their Own Language : What should the schools do about the language habits of students who come from a wide variety of social, economic, and cultural backgrounds? (2), and Should the schools try to uphold language variety, or to modify it, or to eradicate it? (2). While for academic writing purposes students should be expected to use standard American dialect, it is important to respect the diversity and various heritages throughout the country by allowing students to use the dialect they choose when speaking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Allowing students to speak dialects they chose when communicating with peers is acceptable outside of the classroom and in informal class discussions because there are no requirements that are necessary to reach within casual communication. If people were not able to speak the dialect they prefer, we would be rejecting them of their own lifestyles because we would not be allowing the freedom which the United States promises. Standard American dialect is necessary in academic writing for three key reasons. First, the ability to use standard American dialect is a skill that people living in America should obtain because it is the most spoken and written language across the country. Having the knowledge to use standard American dialect will be helpful in many different situations, such as in the classroom and business world. In addition, being able to write using this dialect, will guide in writing a stronger, clearer paper, as well as ensuring unity between all academic writing. A great amount of advertisements exist to persuade their audiences to donate to a specific organization our cause. The ASPCA is an organization that works to rescue animals from abuse, pass humane laws, and share resources with shelters nationwide. The ASPCA has many different campaign commercials that all have a singular purpose. The ASPCA announcement uses the rhetorical devices, logos and ethos to convince its audience to donate. Logos is the appeal to logic, and ethos is the appeal to morals. The commercial states facts about how thousands of animals are abused every day. It states that a small donation of only eighteen dollars a month can make a big difference by providing many different forms of aid to the animals. The ASPCA advertisement translates this to sixty cents a day to show how small the donation really is. This is somewhat of a logical and ethical appeal. It appeals logically to the audience because for just a small monetary donation the viewer can help save abused and neglected animal from their abusers and provide medical care, food, shelter and love. This shows that the donation can be used in many essential ways to care for the animal, and that their donation is responsible for giving the animals a second chance. This too is an ethical appeal because donating will make the viewer feel like a good, virtuous person because they contributed to an important cause. One the other hand if they don t decide to donate they may a have a burden on their conscience because not that much money is needed to help make a big difference. In other words the viewer may feel like an unethical and bad person. The advertisement goes on to state that if you donate then you will receive a welcome kit that contains a t shirt, wristband, and a photo of an animal that has been given a second chance because of you. All of this is a further amplification of the logical reason to donate to the ASPCA. The advertisement also uses ethos by having the Grammy winning artist Sarah Mclachlan as the speaker. Sarah seems to speak very truly and caringly about the ASPCA as she pets a dog that s in her lap. This makes the audience feel like Sarah truly cares about the treatment of animals. As a ... By writing this book, he helps many people view from his perspective on what it is like for someone to struggle trying to fit in the hearing society. Through his early years, his eyes were closed to the deaf world, being only taught how to live in a hearing world. Not only does the book cover his personal involvement, but it covers some important moments in deaf history. The interpreters given assisted him through high school, and also helped him accomplish being the first deaf student to graduate from GFS. A major turning point in the authors life was when he attended Gallaudet University. At Gallaudet, he was surrounded by deaf peers and signing professors. To him, this was unbelievable. He was no longer behind from interpreters relaying information after it had already been said. Mark expresses this emotional state by saying he is no longer living in a fishbowl anymore (pg. 111). At one point earlier in the book, Mark compares himself to someone born underwater having to live in a glass bubble; someone who is unfortunately an outcast from the rest. But with the help of special scuba diving gear, you had the ability to interact and swim with the other fish. • 27. My Last Duchess Harlotry Analysis The poem My Last Duchess by Robert Browning gives a haunting look into the thoughts of a possible murderer. From the first reading, one can deduce that the Last Duchess was murdered by the Duke. While the motive for the murder is not blatantly expressed, I believe that the Duke became aware of his wife s rampant infidelityand that this drove him to murderhis Duchess. Throughout the poem the Dukemakes use of suggestive language to allude to his former wife s lack of commitment. The Duchess exploits, are not lost on the Duke as he frequently acknowledges it throughout the poem. So, ...twas not/ Her husband s presence only, called that spot/ Of joy into the Duchess cheek... (lines 13 15) is not an innocent expression describing a coy Duchess, but what I argue is an allusion to the Duchesses harlotry. Perhaps the most obvious suspect for an accomplice to the Duchess adultery is FrГ Pandolf. The Duke identifies the friar as a flirt who makes advances towards his wife. The Duke provides examples of the Friars flirts. One such come on is that of the friar telling the Duchess that she wears too much and bears too little skin: Her mantle laps/Over my Lady s wrist too much (line 16 17). To such a pass the Duke said his Duchess would welcome, if not appease such lewd comments. The Duke seems hesitant to explain his former wife s behavior to the wedding negotiator: ...She had/A heart how shall I say? too soon made glad (lines 21 22) This unwillingness in description indicated by Browning s use of dashes leads to the notion of a more sultry reaction than simply a heart made glad but rather a heart won over. As hesitation in speech is often used by those who are trying to avoid the social ramifications for whatever they are about to say, we can assume that the Duke does not want to openly admit to the Duchess cheating as it could give away the motivation for the Duchess absence. As if one affair was not embarrassing enough for the Duke, he alludes to the Duchess flirtatious nature as ...she liked whate er/ She looked on, and her looks went everywhere... This research suggests that both types of phone usage are unsafe to participate in while attempting to cross a street, and have the potential to lead to an unsuccessful crossing attempt. Secondly, cell phones are a huge culprit in distracted driving. Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of collisions in the United States. The drivers with the least behind the wheel experience, teens and young adults, are the primary culprits of driving while distracted. The average time it takes to read a text message is 5 seconds. If a person is driving at 55 mph, looking away for that mere 5 seconds is equivalent to not looking while crossing the entire length of a football field. • 33. The Passionate Shepherd Of His Love By Christopher Marlowe Since the beginning of humankind, people have sought partners to share their lives with. Adam himself being lonely and destitute was paired with Eve to share in all life s joys and tribulations. Many would agree that life is best spent in the company of another and without companionship, our existence would be dull and wearisome. The Passionate Shepherd to His Love by Christopher Marlowe is a pastoral poem published in 1599 where a man attempts to find companionship because he is lonely. Marlowe creates a majestic rural world encompassed by natural beauty in which the Shepherd attempts to court a presumably young woman. The Nymph s reply to the Shepherd by Sir Walter Raleigh was written in response to The Passionate Shepherd to His Love in 1600, one year after its publication. This Story takes place in the same area as the previous poem but is now narrated by the Shepherds love interest rather than the Shepherd himself. With both poems having different speakers insight is gained into the thought process of both the Nymph and the Sheppard. Using this information it can be ascertained that the Nymph and the Shappard are incompatible because they have different viewpoints on love and its obtainment. Italian Neorealism Genre During World War II many films in Italy the Italian community created a new type of genre for that specific decade called Italian Neorealism. The Neorealism genre was a style of film characterized by stories done by the poor and working class. These movies were typically filmed on location meaning not in a studio but rather at a real place and used nonprofessional actors. The films themselves contended with the difficulty of life post World War II. The early films were about social issues and war. Director Roberto Rossellinis created a movie during the Neorealist time called RomeOpen City which was released in 1945. The movie shows a deeply moving portrait of Rome during the last couple years of the war, with Germany occupying the city and Allied forces slowly closing in. The filmwas made on whatever film stock Rossellini could gather up in the post war Italian economy. It was shot in the streets of Rome with a kind of documentary realism that would show an even greater impact to this story. Rome Open City for me personally was a very amusing movie to watch because I ve never watched a foreign movie before and it was something different to see especially back in 1945 when the war was going on. For me it s incredible how this movie did so well during a time of tragedy and yet movies here not in the US can t even get a decent rating. Francesco s fiancГ©e, the Pina is involved in the struggle as well she helps create riots against the shops that control food rations and keep the people of the city from getting enough to eat. There was an old, old quarrel between the two families, and instead of making it up like reasonable folks, they made a sort of pet of their quarrel, and would not let it die out. So that a Montagu wouldn t speak to a Capulet if he met one in the street nor a Capulet to a Montagu or if they did speak, it was to say rude and unpleasant things, which often ended in a fight. And their relations and servants were just as foolish, so that street fights and duels and uncomfortablenesses of that kind were always growing out of the Montagu and Capulet quarrel. Now Lord Capulet, the head of that family, gave a party a grand supper and a dance and he was so hospitable that he said anyone might come to it except (of course) the Montagues. But there was a young Montagu named Romeo, who very much wanted to be there, because Rosaline, the lady he loved, had been asked. This lady had never been at all kind to him, and he had no reason to love her; but the fact was that he wanted to love somebody, and as he hadn t seen the right lady, he was obliged to love the wrong one. So to the Capulet s grand party he came, with his friends Mercutio and Benvolio. Old Capulet welcomed him and his two friends very kindly and young Romeo moved about among the crowd of courtly ... In addition, lifetime prevalence rates for bipolar I disorder were found to be slightly higher in males than in females. While much of the reported prevalence rates for bipolar disorder are based on adults 18 years and older, Merikangas et al. In addition, episodes of depression and mania tend to be short and frequent around the time of onset and then lengthen over time with most people experiencing intermittent episodes throughout their lifetime (Angst Sellaro, 2000). Since bipolar spectrum disorders are complex in nature, the overall treatment of this disorder tends to be difficult as nonadherence to treatment is common (Hilty, Leamon, Lim, Kelly, Hales, 2006). There are also some gender differences experienced by those with bipolar disorder. Women tend experience bipolar disorder different from men. Nivoli et al. (2011) reported that in adult onset bipolar disorder, women generally experience an onset of depression and overall depressive predominance. In addition, they reported that women tend to experience a higher rate of psychotic features and suicidality associated with depression. However, men tend to experience higher rates of comorbid substance abuse and engage in more violent attempts of suicide. Youth with bipolar disorder tend to experience persistent disease well into their late adolescent years and adulthood (Wozniak et al, 2010). Individuals with childhood and adolescent onset as compared to adult onset, tend to be highly correlated with specific illness characteristics including more a severe course of disease, comorbid anxiety disorders, at least 10 additional lifetime mood episodes, substance use disorders, and ... It s a safe and sheltered place to give birth to and raise her young until they are able to get around on their own. The fireplace chimney is usually preferred because the horizontal smoke shelf is a convenient size to nestle with her kits, but she may also use the chimney venting a furnace. ** We recommenced that you never use smoke or fire to drive animals out of chimneys! • 50. The Effect Of Outdoor Two Stroke Power Equipment Abstract: The emissions from two stroke outdoor power equipment, light terrestrial vehicles, and marine vehicles are a significant detriment to air quality, human health, and the environment. Due to the mechanical nature two stroke engines operations, engines running on fuel oil mixtures that have been blended from biologically based oils generate far less Green House Gas emissions than two stroke engines running fuel oil mixtures blended from more traditional petroleum based outdoor power equipment oil. Preliminary results of previous research support the hypothesis that equipment running on bio synthetic fuel oil blends emits drastically lower amounts of Hydrocarbons, Nitrogen Oxides, and Carbon Monoxide than equipment operating exclusively on petroleum based fuel oil mixtures. In addition, qualitative factors such as the color and smell of the exhaust fumes, and differences in engine performance have also been monitored and recorded. These data have been gathered in two separate and complimentary stages where the results were accumulated, condensed, and analyzed with the objective of discovering differences in the emissions and engine performance of Outdoor Two Stroke Power Equipment (OPE) running on petroleum based oil versus bio synthetic oil. • 52. The Argument Of Clash Of Civilians By Samuel Huntington In the argument Clash of Civilians written by Samuel Huntington, he states that Western conflicts arose between nation states and ideologies. During the cold war the First, Second, and Third Worlds were divided by their status. Post Cold War it no longer mattered. International policies shift from Western being the main focus to focusing on the West and non Western civilizations. The differences in civilization when it comes to their culture, customs, religion, ethnicity, have been there for centuries and after the Cold Warthe politics among states is much less fundamental. Civilization is far more fundamental today and throughout time, civilization identity will continue to be a major component. Huntington also does not see westernization as a desirable surge that engulfs world politics. Conflict is very natural and history proves that argument. The author takes away focus from states as a foundation of war in the future and more on conflict between major culture regions. He states that peoples cultural and religious identities will be the primary bases of conflict post cold war. The world is becoming a smaller place with modernization and technology; thus, relations between people of different civilizations deepen consciousness and awareness. Post cold war, the role of the Western society enhances the growth of civilization.
