Renewable Sources Of Energy Effectively Replace Fossil...
Alternative energy
Can renewable sources of energy effectively replace fossil fuels?
Can renewable sourves of energy effecticely replace fossil fuels? Is the question of the century.the
answer to this question could profouldly change the world, it could put us In a new era a one for
the better. But due to the largest oil and gas companies exxon mobil, royal dutch shell, bp, Sinopec
and bureaucracy the steps are not being taken to insure our future. The government is corrupted,
State officials rather than elected representatives are making all the decisions. Burning fossil fuels
negatively affects the environment because they release carbon dioxide and other gases that trap
heat in the Earth s atmosphere, which contributes to global climate change. But due to bureaucracy
global climate change is still considered a myth
Why is climate change ignored? Two realities threaten the well being of future generations. The
first is global warming. In the words of the most recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change, each of the last three decades has been successively warmer at the earth s
surface than any preceding decade since 1850. Furthermore, it goes on, in the Northern
Hemisphere [the period] 1983 2012 was likely the warmest 30 year period of the last 1400 years.
(1) The resulting rise of sea levels, increased storm intensity, and ecological disruptions promise to
impose a heavy cost on those who come of age twenty years from now.
The second is that

Financial Statements Measure The Liquidity And The...
Introduction The financial statements measure the liquidity and the strength of a business. On the
balance sheet; offsets calculate the real value of accounts receivables and fixed assets. Uncollectible
accounts receivables and depreciation reflect the offsets reported on financial statements. In
accordance with generally accepted accounting principles(GAAP); two methods compute the
uncollectible accounts receivable expense. Just like uncollectible accounts offset the value of
accounts receivables; so do depreciationexpenses counteract the value of fixed assets. Also called
contra accounts, the journal entries accumulate and are then recorded on the balance sheet.
Part One Uncollected Receivables The first technique is the write off method. Small companies
with a small number of uncollected accounts receivables, or, bad debts; utilize this process. Once a
customer account becomes worthless, a write off occurs. Immediately, the write off is recorded in
the journal; applied directly to the uncollectible customer account. The first step in this journal
entry; debit the customer s accounts receivable account. In the next entry; credit the allowance for
doubtful accounts. With this process, an accumulation of entries are completed during the period,
as customer accounts become uncollectible. The book Financial Accounting (Duchac, Reeve,
Warren, 2014) states: At the end of a period, Allowance for Doubtful Accounts will normally have a
balance. Second, the

Characteristics Of Soccer
Characteristics of soccer
Soccer possibly is one of the most famous sports around the world. However, we usually hear that
some talented soccer players like Marco Van Basten, Michael Owen and Ronaldo need to retire or
the performance is seriously affected due to different kinds of injuries.
Types of Injury, Mechanism of injury, Cause of injury, Risk factors ... etc)
According to the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) and research data by John
Miller, there are some common injuries affecting soccer players which mainly focus on the legs, for
example, knee injuries, ankle injuries and hamstring injuries.
Ankle sprains usually happen when the sole of the foot rolls under, damaging the lateral ligaments
of the ankle, for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
70% of all ACL injuries happen without collision with another player as a result of football
involving lots of one step stop deceleration, sudden change of direction, landing from a jump with
the knee and hip at extension or a lapse of concentration. Besides tearing the ACL, we need to
know any knee injuries can cause a player to be sidelined from training and competitions for a long
period unfortunately. Therefore, the knee injuries usually are the main cause to break the careers of
soccer players. (Source: http://www.englewoodortho.com)
Although hamstring strains (muscle group at the back of your thigh) will not seriously affect the
careers of soccer players, they still make lots of players endure torment on it. The reason is that
hamstring strains easily occur when the thigh muscles of a player are not strong enough. This
situation usually happens when the player lacks time for recovery between training and
competitions or receives excessive intensity training or matches when the player recently recovers
from injuries. (Source:

Vincent Van Gogh s The Starry Night
A very popular work of art by Vincent Van Gogh would be The Starry Night. Vincent Van Gogh
depicted a night in the town as a symbolic image of emotion with the exploding stars, a night where
one can dream, and the comfort of others as homes are brightly lit. Through this painting, Vincent
van Gogh expresses personal insight and feelings through it. Van Gogh had a mental illness and it
said that between seizures, he would do these paintings because it allowed him to have great clarity.
Van Gogh painted The Starry Nightby memory and his work symbolize his great illness and a
moment of sanity since he was at Saint Remy during the time he painted this portraying what he
saw from the window of his bedroom. During the time this painting was made,... Show more content

The different shapes throughout the painting like the stars and the houses as well as the colors
expressed in the sky and in the dark hillsides and the texture of the rich and thick strokes in the
painting create these Art Principles. Unity is shown in the painting as all the elements belong
together and fit with one another to create a harmonious whole. The bright yellow blue night sky
is filled with stars and movement around it which guides the viewer s eyes in the same
movement as the lines go not only in the sky but in the hills. The hills are moving upward and
then downwards onto the brightly lit buildings repeating harmoniously in the painting. The
variety of the orange color is seen in the stars and moon and in some of the houses represented as
a light. Patterns are seen in the skylines and stars as they move across. Asymmetrical balance is
seen in the work of art because even with the patterns, the right and left sides are not the same
because of the different and variety of elements that balance together based on their meaning.
The large moon in the painting is where you look at the longest because of its size which draws
attention to the stars around it balance it. The small yellow stars balance out the dark and large
blue sky because the warm dark blue color is heavier than the cool yellow color. The focal point
of the painting would be attention grabber which is the big moon position in the top right corner
with its bright colors of orange yellow and its big size to call attention to it. The stars in the
midnight blue sky show the subordination of the painting since there is lesser interest in those
areas. Eyes are drawn from left to right in direction to the focal point of the painting like a force
that shows the path the viewer s eyes need to follow which is provided by the swirling

Bees Persuasive Speech
Imagine living in a world without bees. What would you eat? What would you wear? What
would the environment be like? You may think that there would be very little change but think
again. The production in crops would decline due to the fact that 70% of the 90% crop species
that we consume are pollinated by bees, not to mention that delicious honey they provide.
Because of this, hunger and poverty would be at an all time high. Our choice in clothing would
decrease as well, being that cotton relies on pollination. Bees even influence our fuel; canola
production would plummet causing a reliance on fossil fuels and resulting in a huge pressure on
our environment. Our world would become a huge, barren desert because of plants not being
able to grow. Humans would most likely die off due to starvation and thirst, and it s all because
of bees. In this speech we are going to learn about what all the buzz is about the benefits of bees to
us, then we will learn about the causes of beeextinction... you wouldn t bee lieve it! Lastly, we will
buzz on over to learn about how we can help the bees in our community.
Now, let s stop to pollinate our first point, our dependence on bees... The way we eat largely
depends on bees and other pollinators. Every 1 in 3 bites of food we eat is another reason to
thank a bee. Coffee, nuts, seeds, berries, fruits, and vegetables are all pollinated and made
possible by bees and without them we would not have most of these foods. The loss of one bee
species can affect what we eat, some bees are used to pollinate certain plants, such as squash
bees. Bees can also affect what nutrients we are getting, bees allow us to have a balanced diet and
without bees we would have a diet that lacks in vital nutrients. As I said before, bees pollinate
the 70% out of the 90% of our crops that we consume, most of the crops that allow us to have a
balanced and healthy diet. In a video titled, The Death of Bees Explained , the author states that
the crops that we feed our livestock with are largely dependent on honey bees, which effects our
milk and meat. In result of the large influence, bees are a Keystone Species, a keystone species is a
species that is largely depended on in an ecosystem and if they were

Lifestyle Of Living In Prison
When a person is diagnosed with diabetes they must develop an entirely new lifestyle. In life a
person has the freedom to eat what they want and when they want, but when diagnosed as a
diabetic that all changes. Being diabetic is like being in prison. A diabetic and a prisoner must
develop to a new lifestyle, cope with the lack of certain privileges and rights, and handle
monitoring their blood sugarlevels all day like being watched by the patrol guards.
First, a diabetic has a new lifestyle of constant finger pricks and insulin injections to get
acquainted with. The ability to develop a new schedule and activities of living as a diabetic is at
times painful and hard. The ordinary life of going day by day not worried about what a person
eats gets torn right out from underneath them. Diabetics have a hard time coping with the
totally new way of living. Being diabetic is like being a prisoner in one s own body. A prisoner also
must develop a new lifestyle. Being behind bars in a small, cold, and damp room is totally different
than being able to lay in a comfy bed or sit on a fluffy sofa. Prisoners are placed on a certain
schedule as well, but for reasons such as time to shower, or time to go to the yard. Being in prison
can tear a person s lifestyle apart because they are unable to go home to their house or do
everyday things like shop, or even spend time with their kids. Being diabetic is a rough situation for
people that have never dealt with any sort of health conditions.

Reasons I Chose Air Traffic Controller
Reason I Chose Air Traffic Controller
I chose to do my paper on being a Air Traffic Controller, and what Air Traffic Control because it
seems like a job in aviation that I would be interested in. The pay is good and overall it seems like
a good job and field to go into.
Air Traffic Controller
Air traffic controllers direct the movement of air traffic, to make sure that aircraft stay safe
distances apart. Air traffic controllers have many duties such as, issuing landing and takeoff
instructions to pilots, controlling ground traffic, help directing the movement of aircraft in air
and on the ground, and etc. Air traffic controllers work in control towers, approach control
buildings, or en route centers. Some are located at airports and others are not. Air traffic
controllers with 20 years of experience are able to retire at age 50. Controllers must retire at age
56. Most air traffic controllers work full time. The median annual wage for air traffic controllers is
$122,530.
To become an air traffic controller, you must be a U.S. citizen, pass medical and background
checks, get a good score on the Federal Aviation Administration pre employment test, complete a
training course at the FAA Academy, pass a physical exam each year and a job performance exam
twice per year and pass drug screenings. Air traffic controllers must hold an Air Traffic Control

V2 Rocket Research Paper
Title spot
If you were to ask someone about rockets or rocketry they would probably talk about rocket ships
or satellites and the good they do for mankind, few would speak of the darker side of rockets the
side that started them all. Most wouldn t think that the age of rocketry started in the middle of the
Second World War but it did, and the amount of destruction that came from the earliest of the
rockets was devastating and highly unexpected. The V2 Rocket was the first in a long lineage of
weapons that would change the way war was fought for many years. Despite the terrible things that
came from the development of the V2 Rockets they were a very necessary technological
advancement.
The concept of a weapon that traveled faster than the speed of sound in 1944 was science fiction
to even to some of the most advanced minds at the time, but it didn t take very long for one man,
Wernher von Braun, to start developing this new weapon. The V2 rocket was the first man made
object to nearly make it to the fringe of space, specifically the V2 rockets went up 52 60 miles with

I believe conscience, is the ability for a human being, to distinguish the moral decision of right
and wrong. Having conscience also shares a wired complex of ethical, and moral principals that
people show in their action towards one another. If people constantly choose to do wrong, they
have no conscience of there actions. Whereas when people constantly choose to do right, and
follow the rules of god, they have a conscience which will guide them into the right direction, and

Capital Reef National Park
The Capital Reef National Park is located in south/central Utah, and is part of the great Colorado
Plateau. An area of 378 square miles, the Capital Reef National Park is just one of many national
parks located near the four corners (Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico). Like it was mentioned
in the prompt, most of the rock formation in the Capital Reef is very similar to that of the other
national parks, however, there is one geologic feature in particular that attributes to its uniqueness.
Other than its unique name, Capital Reef lies along a north south trending monocline, called the

Mammal Exhalation Research Paper
A Mammal is a member of a large group of animals with warm blood, fur and the ability to
produce milk. Gas exchange in mammals occurs by the inhalation of oxygen and the exhalation of
carbon dioxide. As mammals inhale oxygen it passes through the trachea which is a long tube
made out of c shaped cartilage ring which widens and lengthens as the mammal inhales and goes
back to its normal shape when the mammal exhales. Inhalation is when the diaphragm relaxes
releasing the pressure inside the lungs which draws oxygeninto the body through the mouth, down
the trachea, bronchi (tubes connecting to the trachea) and the bronchioles (small connecting tubes
between the bronchi and alveoli within the lungs). Exhalation is when it contracts and increases the
pressure in the lungs pushing carbon... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that before carbon dioxide can diffuse into the capillaries through the alveolus there
must be a low carbon dioxide concentration in the alveolus so that is can diffuse out of the blood
into the capillaries and into an alveolus (since diffusion is the movement of particles from an
area of high to an area of low concentration). This is the same for oxygen but in order for oxygen
to diffuse into the capillaries and then into the blood stream there must be a high concentration
of oxygen in the alveolus, from here the oxygen rich blood flows to the many places around the
body where it is needed. A ventilation system allows this process of diffusion of both gases to
occur by getting rid of the carbon dioxide in the alveolus and bringing in more oxygen. A
sustainable blood flow is crucial for Gas Exchange as it is the process of the diffusion of oxygen
and carbon dioxide to and from the blood stream. The vast network of capillaries surrounding the
alveolus ensures a continuous supply of blood to carry the oxygen away. Within the blood is the
presence of the respiratory pigment called haemoglobin, this pigment binds with blood to increase
the oxygen carrying ability of

Biomedical engineering, also known as bioengineering , is a branch of engineering that combines
the design and problem solving techniques of engineering with biological and medical sciences to
improve health related and medical problems. Bioengineers have made many positive changes in
many lives today. By designing live saving objects such as artificial hearts, dialysis machines, and
surgical lasers bioengineers have helped save many lives. Biomedical engineers dates back to over
3000 years with the Egyptians. Egyptians created a wooden prosthesis to replace the big toe. Since
then, bioengineering has developed a great deal. A big improvement this century has been the

The Fantasy Football League
Fantasy football is one discourse community that I participate in every year along with my
friends and family. If a stranger were to listen to any conversations we were having about
fantasy football, they may not understand some of the knowledge that is required of someone to
contribute to the fantasy football domain. This is true because within a fantasy football league
there are many different phrases and terminology that we would not use on a regular basis. I
would like to start off by explaining what fantasy football is and how it works. Fantasy football
is all about constructing a virtual team made up of NFL players. At the start of any football
season, everyone who want to be in the fantasy league gets together to have a draft. These team
owners proceed to pick NFL players that they want for their team. Depending on what league
someone is in determines what type of players an owner can put on their team. Typically a
starting team will consist of one quarterback, a couple receivers and running backs, a kicker, a
tight end, and a team defense. The owner with the first pick starts, this is usually the manager of
the league. After he picks a player from the NFL, the next owner will pick a player and it goes
down the line until all the owners have one player on their team. To make this process fair the
owner with the last pick gets the first pick in the second round of the draft and then it will go up
the line to the owner who had the first pick, and after the owner with

Tony Stark s Ethical Decisions In The Film Ironman
Film Analysis Tony Stark makes many ethical decisions in the film Ironman. One of the first
important decisions Stark makes in the movie is choosing to miss his own award ceremony and
instead go to a casino and gamble. His decision not to attend and not to inform anyone that he
was not going to attend is significant because it demonstrates Stark s self centered mindset and
that he places little importance on the impact his decisions have on others. Later, when Stark
has been captured by terrorists who demand that he build a missile for them Stark s immediate
response is to refuse, even though they may kill him for refusing. This is important because it
shows that despite Stark s constant disrespectful behavior towards others he does believe that
the lives of innocent people are inherently of value. Stark s decision to fight his way out of the
terrorist camp is another significant decision Stark makes. It shows that he is willing to kill
people when it is not the only way to preserve his own life. Once he gets out of the cave he could
have used the suit s rockets to fly away, but he instead smashes his way through the entire terrorist
camp. When Stark returns to the United States he immediately holds a press conference and
announces that, because he learned that terrorists were using his weapons against US troops his
company will no longer be making weapons. The moral implications of this decision are huge. His
reason is to prevent terrorists from killing people, but his

Statistical Analysis On The Rate Of Cytoplasmic Streaming
Statistical analysis of variations in the rate of cytoplasmic streaming in Nitella pseudoflabellata due
to differences in cell width and treatment with mechanism inhibitory cytochalasins C and D
observed using light microscopy
Introduction
Cytoplasmic streaming is the organised flow of the cytoplasm and its constituents within a living
cell (Shimmen et al., 2004). Organelles and important molecules move through the cytosol along
the structure of the cytoskeleton (actin filaments and microtubules) with the aid of myosin I, an
actin binding motor protein that plays a part in various cell functions including cell motility and
endocytosis (Flavell et al., 2008). Actin microfilaments (F actin) are the thinnest filaments of the
cytoskeleton, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As suggested by Seagull et al. (1980), while the rate of cytoplasmic streaming does not vary with
the size of the motile particle (organelle, cargo molecule, etc.) or the size of the cell itself, larger
cells with increased surface area may absorb these mechanism inhibitory substances more readily
and may therefore have slower rates of cytoplasmic streaming as less F actin is available to the
myosin complex at any one time.
Cytochalasins are a group of small organic fungal metabolites which are capable of permeating cell

SAGHE Case Study
Background
From 1958 and more than half a century cadaveric pituitary derived human growth hormone (hGH)
was available for replacement therapy until around 1985 when it was understood that a significant
number of children treated with cadaver obtained hGH died because of Creutzfeldt Jakob disease.
Since 1985, drug manufacturers are using engineered bacteria to make recombinant human growth
hormone (rhGH) with a higher purity but several short term side effects.
Although these side effects are monitored, evaluated and controlled, the long term side effects such
as oncogenic effect remains the main concern and uncertain. While during the past decades, drug

Are children s life in risk for an inch or two?
Background
Since 1984 when the first treatment with rhGH was started until today, short term safety of rgHG
replacement therapy is evaluated based on large groups of patients. The height gains results of the
hormone on children with severe GH deficiency is generally satisfactory. However, in children with
short stature due to other reasons, the height gains and changes in the quality of life is poorly
evaluated and its clinical significance is also under controversy. Furthermore, the long term effect
on neither of the groups has ever been evaluated and this is while the signals of oncogenic side
effect such as the appearance of Leukemia or other cancers in European countries are worrying and
questioning the safety of synthetic recombinant human growth hormone.
The aims of SAGhE study are to investigate long term mortality and morbidity in near 30,000
young European adults who have been treated in childhood with rhGH. SAGhE will also include
young adults height and quality of life evaluations in the research plan to determine how much
benefit these young adults have been gained by this hormone therapy. This is especially very
important because after all, the main reason that families and parents submit their children to
growth hormone therapy is to gain height and improve their quality of life. The SAGhE study can
help these parents to compare the results with the long term side risks and make the

Many of the people he know who are engaging with this type of relationship said that they try
engaging with this because they want to try the experience on having a sexual intercourse with
their partners, to be sure that they will last longer, and to be motivated. These are only some of the
reasons that the researcher discovered as he asked some of the students he knows and practicing
cohabitation. The researcher observed that, in college life many students are being bullied if they
don t have any partners and if they don t experience sex, that s why many students are very eager
in finding a partner to experience what they really want and how these things will work. According
to Simporios (2011), cohabitation s great contribution to moral decadence has been a great concern
of many people. The continuous practice of this kind of relationship is quite alarming to society s
moral bearing. The presence of this very rampant situation in a state university would agitate a
curiosity. This paper aims to describe and explore the students practicing cohabitation, their reasons,
the acceptability, and the outcome of this type of relationship.
Statement of the Problem This is a study on cohabitation among students of Mindanao State

In the U.S, approximately 80 percent of adults experience back pain sometime in their life, with a
total health care expenditure of 90.7 billion in 1998 (Luo, Pietrobon, Sun, Liu, Hey, 2004). LBP is
the second most frequent systematic reason for visits to primary healthcare providers (Hart, Deyo,
Cherkin, 1995) and is usually recurrent with exacerbations that tend to increase in severity. The
total costs of LBP in the United States exceed $100 billion per year (Katz, 2006).
Within the Veteran population there are fifty to seventy percent affected with chronic pain(Krein et
al., 2010), with an annualized prevalence increase in the diagnosis of low back pain (LBP) of 4.8%
per year; larger than diabetes 4.4%, hypertension 4.1% and depression 3.8% (Sinnott Wagner, 2009).
In the primary healthcare setting, Veterans commonly present with acute or an exacerbation of
chronic LBP. The Veterans returning from Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi
Freedom Veterans cite pain specifically LBP as their most frequent complaint (Gironda, Clark,
Massengale, Walker, 2006).
Low back pain is multidimensional, involving structural, mechanical, psychological and social
influences that ultimately results in a complex presentations. There are several clinical practice
guidelines for LBP evaluation and management to include the Quebec Task Force on Spinal
Disorders (1987), the U.S.

Purple Hibiscus
In Chimamanda Adichie s Purple Hibiscus, the protagonist, Kambili Achike, receives very
different messages from two important women in her life. Kambili s mother is a submissive,
dependent woman, who teaches her daughter that it is a woman s job to be taken care of by her
husband. Ifeoma, Kambili s aunt is a single mother, who is confident and independent and knows
what she wants. Mama shows Kambili that she has no control over life; she teaches Kambili that
it s better to step back and be quiet. Aunty Ifeoma, on the other hand, shows Kambili that she can
take control over her own life, and shows her how to do just that. As a result, Aunty Ifeoma is a
considerably better role model for Kambili than Mama is.
Aunty Ifeoma s boldness makes Papa seem less dominating and more human, while Mama s
submissiveness makes Papa seem more godly and powerful. When Papa initially declines Aunty

The Era Of The Button Manufacturing Plan
FOR a few fascinating years I was a fashion journalist and became used to receiving backhanded

than a measure of strength? Intelligence is an interesting concept and whilst we understand and
can agree that it is what differentiates us from other all the other animals it is almost impossible
to agree exactly how to measure it. One of the preferred definitions by Dr Jenny Taylor, a clinical
physiologist is that intelligence is the ability for the organism to adapt itself to the environment in
which it finds itself. This is an extremely broad expression which could be applied to any living
thing. The difficulty comes in the very word measurement which implies some form of numerical
logic. If we look at known distance measurements one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, it could be argued that other skills such as the ability to work as part of a team, or
the ability to show empathy correspond to more real life sources of intelligence that determine a
person s ability to achieve in life. Such cognition is arguably more complex which leads to the
suggestion that other sources of variance such as cultural, environmental and other non
cognitive factors effect and shape a person s ability to understand and evaluate the world. The
idea that IQ differences reflect cultural distance rather than a cognitive strength is simply
recognising these factors and implementing contextual testing of a person s ability through more
than one testing basis. B2028002 Michelle Jacques TMA1 Part 2. This study shows changes in

The Cause Of Violence And Crime In America
Violence has a deep history since the creation of human civilizations on earth. There is no
definite factor that decides the cause of violence. Per the psychologists, it is in the childhood of a
person that dictates his interest in violence. This causes the debate of nature vs. nurture. Violence
can be caused by influence of both. Violence is also caused by societal conflicts especially in the
area of government. Citizens of a nation often do not have say in the policies of their government
and may return to violence to show their anger. Violence is a powerful way to show strength and
intimidate others. Most people commit violence because of their inability to understand why life
isn t fair at all times. For them committing a violent crimeproves to be their own sense of
satisfaction that they have done something to change what bothers them. Other times, it is the
helpless victim of cultural stereotypes and societal dispositions that commits violence merely by
being manipulated. Big organizations such as mafia gangs commit violence for money and security.
Thus, there isn t just one simple cause/reasons individuals or organizations commit violence. It is
often a combination of multiple factors.
2.How can we reduce violent crime in America?
In recent years, America has become prone to violence. Although, overall crime rate has declined,
violent crime such as mass shootings and drug offences have increased. The first way we can

Morphology and Lipid Analysis of 3T3 L1 cells pre and post differentiation
Erin Kim
1
Abstract
This report will look at the morphology of 3T3 L1 cells pre and post differentiation and the
percent lipid in our adipocytes after differentiation. The analysis of cell morphology is important to
study cell behaviour such as the uptake of nutrients [1]. Three different plates of 3T3 L1 cells
were examined. 2 of the plates were grown then differentiated into adipocytes. After
differentiation, these cells were fixed with formalin then one was stained with Oil Red O. The
last plate was grown to confluency, but did not undergo differentiation before fixing with
formalin. After imaging these cells using a fluorescence microscope, the images were analyzed
with the Image J software. Image J analyzed the shape index of the cell our results showed the
adipocytes to have a shape index of 0.888В±0.030 in comparison to than the undifferentiated
fibroblasts, which had a shape index of 0.335В±0.082. The Shape index measures how round or
elongated a cell is. The closer the shape index is to 1, the rounder the cell ... Show more content on

These 3T3 L1 cells are capable of differentiating from fibroblasts into adipocytes under certain
conditions. 3T3 L1 cells are classified as Biosafety Level 1 [2]. 3T3 L1 cells divide rapidly until
they reach 100 percent confluency, which primes them to differentiate into adipocytes. The purpose
of this study was to examine 3T3 L1 cells before and after differentiation to compare their
morphology and lipid content.

Before staining the differentiated cells, they were fixed using formalin (cross linking) to preserve
the cell structure. By staining the cells with Oil Red O, we were able to stain the lipid within the
cell, which increases the contrast of a cell and makes it easier to visualize the lipid content within
each cell

Character Analysis Of Death Of A Salesman
Arthur Miller begins his play with an excellent description of the setting of the play. This makes
it easy for the reader to imagine themselves actually watching the play and causes the reader to
be able to better relate to the play. Because Death of a Salesman can be considered an emotional
play, it qualifies as being a timeless work of literature, especially because it has the ability to touch
the human heart. Willy Loman is a salesman, who lives in New York City with his wife Linda.
From the beginning of the play, Miller makes it obvious that Willy struggles with many obstacles,
such as anger and even confusion since there are many times throughout the play where Willy

wealth began in Africa. Although Ben is not alive anymore, he frequently appears in Willy s

Happy possesses many of the same traits as Willy and lives the lie of the American Dream.
Happy shows many signs of delusion, even believing that he is in a higher position in his store

important than being rich and achieving the American dream. He returns to the farm where he

because he redefined his version of the American dream. This play is very relatable to its readers

A person has to really pay attention to the details to see the name. It is pretty hard to drive by and
notice that there is a church on that street. In the Catholic Church that I attend, the name is pretty
obvious. A person can tell that there is a church from quite a distance. In my opinion, the church did
not lend itself to worship.
Worship
The nature of the worship facility consisted of communion and prayers of forgiveness and faith.
As mass originate, the reverend, who was named Jimmy Orate, and his wife discussed many life
stories with the people. This stage of the worship service lasted a good fifteen to twenty minutes.
The reverend s wife spoke about an abortion that she went through before she found Christ. That
abortion led to her guilt for many years. She had no kind of peace, and credits that to her past
non belief in God. She felt ashamed to speak about the abortion with people, but with the faith in
God and Christ, she was finally able to confront her fear until finally speaking about the issue.
She managed to ask for forgiveness and was finally able to deal with herself. The message
associated with this anecdote was of repentance. In order to have peace and tranquility, a person
has to repent from all of past and current sins.
The reverend also contributed adding the story from Psalm 3 of the Bible in which David fled from
his own son Absalom . Psalm 3 reads like this:

Crime in America Essay
Parole (early release from prison) is often referred to as the back door to the US corrections
system. The concept of parole dates back to the establishment of the Elmira Reformatory. The
goal of the Elmira Reformatory was to rehabilitate and reform the criminal instead of following
the traditional method of silence, obedience, and labor. Parole was originally set up to encourage
prisoners to do well, keep their noses clean, and become model prisoners. Once a prisoner had
shown rehabilitation and reform they were released prior to the execution of their full sentence.
Before a prisoner can be released on parole he/she must meet before a parole board. Each prison

The job of these members is to determine whether or not the inmate up for parole is suitable for
release.
Before an inmate comes before the parole board there are procedures that must happen. The first
thing that happens is the inmate s name will appear on a computer generated list. The victims
will be notified of the possible parole. The list of names is sent to the Transitional Planning
Department. At the TPD a case manager will be assigned to interview the inmate and find out
his/her plan for parole. This plan is filed and is sent to the parole board. The parole board then
interviews the inmate and will vote on the case. If parole is granted the prison officials will
prepare the inmate for release. However if parole is denied the inmate will be given a conditional
release date which is usually within one to three years where the process will start all over.
In order to determine whether or not the inmate is suitable for parole the board will review his/her
record. This record has past convictions, education obtained, prior employment, and behavior in
prison among other things. The way that the system is set up only those who have been reformed
and rehabilitated and serve as no threat to society will be released. In theory this is an excellent
system if used right.
However in today s society we do not have the resources or facilities to use this system properly.

Critical Analysis Of Elizabeth Barrett Browning
The Hopeless Romantic: Elizabeth Barrett Browning
In the poem How do I love thee? by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Browning asks how she loves
her beloved and goes on to list the ways in which she loves him. Her love is seen as eternal and
exists everywhere which brings to light the tone and styling of the poem and how it fits in the
movement it was written in. Elizabeth Barrett Browning was born in 1806 at Coxhoe Hall, Durham,
England. (Poetry Foundation) During the time of her writings, she was seen as one of the most
influential poets for the Romantic Movement. Romantics focused on nature, human feelings and
compassion, and rebelling for a cause, which Browning shows a lot of throughout her sonnet.
Browning was born in 1806 at Coxhoe Hall in Durham, England. She was a romantic writer but
it closely reflected the life she was living at the time. The oldest of twelve children, Elizabeth
was the first in her family born in England in over two hundred years. For centuries, the Barrett
family, who were part Creole, had lived in Jamaica, where they owned sugar plantations and
relied on slave labor. (Poetry Foundation) Elizabeth s father, chose to raise his family in England,
while his fortune grew in Jamaica. Educated at home Elizabeth apparently read passages from
Paradise Lost and a number of Shakespearean plays, among other great works, before the age of
ten. By her twelfth year, she had written her first epic poem, which consisted of four books of
rhyming couplets. In 1826 , Elizabeth anonymously published her collection An Essay on Mind
and Other Poems. Two years later, her mother passed away and the slow abolition of slavery in
England and mismanagement of the plantations depleted the Barrett s income. Elizabeth s father
moved his family to a coastal town and rented cottages for the next three years before settling
permanently in London. Her father did not allow his children to marry, having them work on the
plantations in Jamaica instead. Gaining attention for her work in the 1830s, Elizabeth continued to
live in her father s London house, not by choice however. He began sending Elizabeth s younger
siblings to Jamaica to help with the family s estates. Elizabeth opposed of slavery and did

Analysis Of Bruce Wayne s Batman Essay
In Batman: Ego, Bruce Wayne struggles to fight his inner demons. These demons take on the shape
of Batman and lead to a power struggle with Bruce Wayne. Wayne fights to hold on to what he
believes in and show the world the true meaning of the Batman costume. This fight categorizes not
only Wayne s character but also the character of Batman. The comic pushes the characters into
stereotypical roles of what a hero and a villain are. Initially, Bruce Wayne is presented as the
canon good guy or the hero, while Batman is presented as the stereotypical bad guy . This
representation is achieved by the comic through its use of details. Due to the illusion of lightand the
use of colors, Batman: Ego represents Bruce Wayne s character as a being of purity and innocence
and represents Batman as a being of evil and darkness.
Batman: Ego uses the illusion of light to portray Bruce Wayne s character in a positive way and
the character of Batman in a negative way. Every time Bruce Wayne is shown in one of the
comic panels, a beam of light is shown over his face or behind him. No matter the background of
the comic, Wayne is always clearly visible as if a beam of light is constantly aimed at him. By
doing this, the comic is setting Wayne up as a symbol of purity and light. Wayne is like a beacon
of hope who strongly contrasts with the dark reality that is Gotham. This use of light is most
clearly seen in a panel on page 54. Within this panel, Wayne stands in the shadow of the villainous

Muscle Stimulating Strength Training
Strength training can combat the loss of muscle tissue as you lose weight, and according to
Harvard Health Publications, it also fights abdominal fat. (See References 1) Muscle tissue is an
essential component of weight loss, because it uses a lot of calories to maintain itself; your resting
metabolism increases, and because muscle is denser than fat, you ll appear slimmer. (See
References 5) In addition to your abdomen, work your hips, shoulders, arms, legs, chest, and back.
Exercises can include lunges, squats, bent over rows, dead lifts, pushups, and bench presses.
Strengthening Your Abdominal Muscles
Although targeted exercise don t reduce belly fat, they do tone and strengthen your abdominal
muscles under the fat. When your belly slims down, you ll have a tight, well defined tummy.
These exercises can be part of your strength training regimen. In addition to basic crunches for
your rectus abdominis, you can do reverse crunches to target the lower part of your rectus
abdominis, and elbow to knee crunches to target your obliques at the sides of your waist. Also
include exercises, such as front and side planks, to strengthen your entire core. (See References 6)

The On The Foreclosure Crisis
The last five years have been a rollercoaster for the average American homeowner. I personally
know many people who were unable to keep their homes. Most of the reasons were extenuating
loss of job, decline in business, death of family ultimately resulting in no longer being able to
afford the mortgage. Unfortunately there were some very irresponsible decisions that
contributed to the foreclosure of homes, for example, financing huge second and third
mortgages to pay for frivolous activities and items. With the last half decade of hard lessons
learned for previous home owners many are looking to venture into the market again with some
more creative financing options. Many sellers are turning to options such as rent to own or
seller carrying the contract with a down payment as well as buyers borrowing against existing
retirement and life insurance accounts. The rent to own option is one that very desirable for
potential home buyers as well as sellers. They are able to live in the home that they desire to own

Comparing Rip Van Winkle And The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow
Washington Irving is a well known author famous for his stories Rip Van Winkle and The Legend
of Sleepy Hollow. During the time Irving was writing Rip Van Winkle, Americans were fascinated
with the Romanticism Era. The era was known for literature that emphasized emotions and they
lived to read about past events. No one had ever tried to link America s history to fictional
literature. Irving successively wrote a short storybased on the German folktale Peter Klaus the
Goatherd. Although Irving s story had striking similarities with the folktale, he fused history of the
American Revolution with the old imaginative literature. Irving used the story of Rip to symbolize
the struggles Americans faced before and after the Revolutionary War.

Ironically, he was born two weeks before Congress approved the peace treaty ending the
American Revolution. He later became famous for writing a short story based on the American
Revolution. He was the first author to use America s history in fictional literature. Because of this,
he became widely famous and American s loved the story because they liked to reminisce about
the past and also liked that his American tales used fantasy, nostalgia, and confidence games to
heal partisan conflicts of the post revolutionary and early republican periods that had festered up
through the War of 1812. (3) He wrote, Rip Van Winkleat a time when he had been living in
Europe for quite some time and Americans were starting to question his work as being very
Europeanized. He probably decided to write the short story and include America s history to
remind people of his American identity and to gain more readers over

Secondhand Smoking Should Be Illegal
In our generation smoking still exists even though there are some people who quit smoking and
there are some still smoke in ages, however the only problem in our society, people who smoke
around youngsters called as well as secondhand smoking is a detective around children and adults.
It is important that secondhand smoke shouldn t be smokingaround their own children or underage
due to health. Secondhand smoking, tobaccosmoke is exhaled by a second smoker or is given off
by burning tobacco and also is inhaled by someone nearby which it s called passive Smoke. It
occurs when tobacco smoke spread throughout any environment, which causes it s inhalation by
people within that particular environment. The state of being exposed to secondhand... Show more

Children s lungs are still developing at young ages and adult s occurs harmful effects on the
heart. There are millions of children breathing smoke in their home with second hand smoke
and second hand smokers don t realize that their children are especially at more risk to their
health than they are. Smoking in vehicles with under age of 18 should ban the law and children
whose parents smoke around should also be illegal because in a small enclosed space such as a
vehicle with a sunroof has more toxic air which expose breathing more rapidly. According to the
author Leada Grove, created an article from AL.com wrote that 80 percent of smoke is
invisivble and opening windows does not remove its harmful effects. The level of toxic air in a
vehicle where someone is smoking is up to 10 times worse than levels that is considered
hazardous . Approximately 250,000 children and adults (non smokers) have died from health
problems that exposed to secondhand smoke. Some states in the U.S. had established the
secondhand smoke law that is illegal, however other states are still under construction to establish
this law. All states should make this law a new law for all second hand smokers because as of
right now our country have gained a major health issue and money wise for the government.
From the other side of my argument, People who smoke argue that they have personal rights and
the right to burn their own cigarette any way they

The Hunger Games Movie Analysis
In the following film, The Hunger Games directed by Gary Ross, it focuses primarily on the
protagonist, Katniss Everdeen, who volunteers to partake the Hunger games tribute that occurs
once a year. Every year in each district, each of the two members of each gender is selected to fight
the annual Hunger Games. Katniss intends to be the center of attention of this film, which gives
the audiences a better insight of the movie, also revealing additional themes that the author is trying
to convey.
At first sight, this movie may seem it s about killing for entertainment purposes. However, by going
deeper into the film s primary messages, the meaning behind The Hunger Games is the government
s way of showing how much power each district can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example that demonstrates the theme of survival is after when Katniss s father passed away.
Her mother started giving up and becomes mentally unstable due to her Husband s loss. Katniss
continues to pull her family through the toughest moments after her father s death. Furthermore,
Katniss s strong personality helped to keep her and her family alive. During the Hunger Games,
Katniss is out on the battlefield hoping she will survive and declare victory. She uses a rope to
climb on trees to decrease her risk of death and she was able to take advantage of the resources that
were given to her. Katniss was able to demonstrate survival because of her ability to keep herself
hidden from the enemy tributes. Although she s from a poor district, she was able to plan her
moves intelligently and succeed at the end. Survival is a very important skill throughout Katniss s
role because she wouldn t be alive without them. However, survival wouldn t have been brought up
without mentioning the next important theme in the film.
An essential theme that is politically and socially relevant to the film is the idea of rich versus
poor. In Panem, the wealth is heavily represented as the governments and the game makers behind
the Hunger Games. On the other hand, the citizens living in the Capitol represent the poor. In
contrast, there is a huge disparity between the lives of the wealthly and the poor. Researchers
believed that the alleviation of extreme poverty

Essay on Working Conditions of Children in Textile Mills
Working Conditions of Children in Textile Mills
After thorough investigation into 5 sources referring to the working conditions for children in
factories during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, we now have the opportunity to
bind all the facts together and create a detailed account. However, there are still questions over
the reliability of some of the sources, so further research and comparisons with other mills need to
be made. Making comparisons will also indicate the typicality of Styal. Hopefully, by the end of
this essay I will be able to prioritise the best way of finding out about the treatment of children in
textile mills.

This makes us think that the workers are in fear of being sacked, which they couldn t afford to
do with the lack of jobs in the area, so therefore say what Greg wants them too. We also get the
impression that Samuel Greg is always present, as if to make sure the employees do as they are
asked. We are also told that, ...everyone well paid, comfortable... , ...fine machinery... and
...excellent lunch... which makes us wonder whether Samuel Greg is only showing the good
points. Frederick Engles thinks that it was in fact a staged visit and that all the bad conditions
were kept hidden. He suggests that Greg s factory was a mockery . Engle s uses a sarcastic tone
for this source, which backfired as there are some positive comments. Finally, the source is very
generalised, which suggests it may have been a hypothetical visit, meaning Engles could be saying
what could happen?
The second source referred to child labour at Quarry Bank Mill in 1833. My source is an extract
from an interview between the superintendents who looked after Greg s apprentices at Quarry
Bank Mill (George and Elizabeth Shawcross) and a government official checking on how
apprentice children were treated. The fact that this is just an extract from the interview makes us
wonder what was said in the rest of it. If this extract was taken

Comparison Of Genesis, The Gospel, And Theistic Evolution
Genesis, the Gospel, and Theistic Evolution
Introduction
Humans have asked questions about their origin and their purpose on earth for eons. The Bible tells
humans that God created them and explains their purpose. However, since the Renaissance,
humanism answers questions about origins by naturalistic means and science has been redefined in
the process. Most institutions of higher education and many individuals have adopted the
naturalistic theory of evolution to explain human origin without considering its effects on faith. In
contrast to prevailing thought at Goshen College, a literal six day creation is foundational to the
Gospel message. Combining evolution and Christianity makes one s faith less logical and opens

Some theistic evolutionists prefer to be called evolutionary creationists. Most of the following
arguments against theistic evolution could also be applied to any combination of Christianity and
macroevolution (i.e. bacteria to human evolution), irregardless of its label.
Naturalism or Christianity as a Foundation for a System of Ethics
Theistic evolution meshes two worldviews, naturalism and Christianity, and each worldview lays
a foundation for a system of ethics and morality. Let us first examine more closely the foundation
laid by naturalism. Naturalism deifies chance. Random chance is responsible for life as we know
it. In The Beak of the Finch, evolutionist Jonathan Weiner writes, Natural selection leads to
evolution. He further explains that for natural selection to occur, the organisms most suited to
their environment will survive (1995, p. 128). The best adapted organisms are more likely to pass
on their genetic information while the less well adapted lose out in the great battle of life. Such a
view of origins establishes by extrapolation a moral and ethical foundation. If humans are only
products of chance evolution, they will naturally follow the instincts that have been ingrained in
them for millions of years. They will pass on their genetic information to as many offspring as
possible. Because they have gained great intelligence and

Crocs Research Paper
Crocs footwear Crocs, Inc., is indeed a Colorado creator of unique clogs that became popular for
the outdoor person in the late 1990s with both men, women, and children. These inexpensive shoes
rely on a proprietary resin material called Croslite. This helps produce a slip resistant and non
marking sole. The material also softens with body heat activation. This helps for molding the shoe
to the foot and providing a conforming fit. Crocswas meant for guys on boats and in other outdoor
activities like fishing and gardening, because the material of the shoe allows the foot to breathe.
Crocs are also used by working men and women who spend much time on their feet. For example,
health care and restaurant workers. Also, Crocs are widely considered

Social Exclusion In Australia Persuasive Essay
Slide one Good afternoon fellow classmates and Mrs. Bolton. For this PIP Proposal, my focus
question is how does Australia claim to be a multicultural country but lacks the representation of
people of colour in the media.
Slide two The reason I choose this topic is that I have realised that when watching television on
channel 7, 9, and ten that there are zero people of colour present., According to SBS, Osman Faruqi
says Australia has a problem with diversity on television. If we don t see people from culturally
diverse backgrounds working in certain professions, it makes it harder for us to think we can break

All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy
Cormac McCarthy is a man who holds few interviews. Even today, he is known as one of the
world s greatest, most prolific authors though most of his personal opinions are left unreported. In
a rare interview with a New York Times journalist, McCarthy says the philosophical words: There s
no such thing as life without bloodshed completely revealing the coveted theme of his novel, All
the Pretty Horses. Considering the amount of violence that manifests itself in the book; Blevins
murder, the prisonfight, and the gunfight between John Grady and the ranch workers; all of
which results from Grady s pursuit of a peaceful life, the theme McCarthy wished to broadcast, a
theme of inescapable violence, was true in its delivery. John Grady left his home in Dallas,
Texas to make a home in Mexico. He was in pursuit of a life in which freedoms are generously
given and previous negative memories he had wouldn t exist. Along the way, Grady met a young,
prideful boy known by the name Jimmy Blevins. Initially, Grady regarded him as a nuisance but,
eventually Blevins gained his acceptance and together they crossed the Rio Grande. In Mexico,
however, they were separated, and finally reunited in a jail cell. Blevins was soon taken away and
shot. After hearing the crack of the gun, Grady ...almost reached to pull down the front of his hat
brim but then he remembered that they had no hats anymore (179). The lowering of his hat brim is

Canada s Contribution To The World
Canada s role in intervening in world incidents that pertain to humankinds wellbeing had different
impacts. It has only been over a hundred years since Canada has emerged into the international
arena. In the early twentieth century it made its contributions to the world even when not being an
autonomous state. Canada has joined different organizations that showed its stance in the world. As
time progressed the country s reputation stems from its distinguished contributions to maintain
peace. The country gained recognition for its efforts in the First World War; the most notable
being their victory at Vimy Ridge. Canada acquired an independent seat when the League of
Nations formed and partook in signing the Treaty of Versailles. As Canada developed a sense of

The Importance of Nat Turner Essay
The Importance of Nat Turner
What was the importance of Nat Turner and where does he stand in American history? Nat
Turner is an American slave, who has been forgotten about in history as well in the hearts of
African Americans. He led and organized one of the bloodiest slave rebellions in American
history. This rebellion was #8230;the rebellion that served to change the course of American
history in the three decades before the Civil War (Goldman 10). Within this paper, it is to analyze
on his impact on the nation. Nat Turner was a slave son, who was born on October 2, 1800 in
Southampton County, Virginia, to Benjamin Turner. When Nat was born, Bisson pointed out

With this #8230;the pain and reality of slavery was a shock that was to have profound influence on
his life (Goldman 18). In 1821, Nat had decided to run away from his master and to live as a
fugitive. While on the run, he met his future wife, Cherry, who was also a slave that was
working on the Turner s farm. As time went by, after 30 days has passed Nat had returned to the
plantation on his own freewill. Because of his return Nat said, the reason of my return was, that
the Spirit appeared to me and said I had wishes directed to the things of this world, and not to the
Kingdom of Heaven, and that I should return to the service of my earthly master (Goldman 60).
With his return, Nat went unpunished and was returned to his daily work. In 1822, a tragedy
bestowed upon the Turner s family. Nat master, Samuel Turner, had died and with this it had
resulted in separating up his family. With the separation, Nat s mother was told to stay with
Samuel Turner s daughter on the Turner s farm, while Nat was sold to one farmer and his wife was
sold to another (Bisson 28, 29). In this Nat was also lucky, because his owner, Thomas Moore, was
a neighbor of Giles Resse, who had became the owner of his wife and children (Bisson 39). While
he was working for his new owner, Thomas Moore, he was also busy planning for his liberation.
From 1825 1830, Turner served as a preacher because it gave him the right to travel

  • 2. Renewable Sources Of Energy Effectively Replace Fossil... Alternative energy Can renewable sources of energy effectively replace fossil fuels? Can renewable sourves of energy effecticely replace fossil fuels? Is the question of the century.the answer to this question could profouldly change the world, it could put us In a new era a one for the better. But due to the largest oil and gas companies exxon mobil, royal dutch shell, bp, Sinopec and bureaucracy the steps are not being taken to insure our future. The government is corrupted, State officials rather than elected representatives are making all the decisions. Burning fossil fuels negatively affects the environment because they release carbon dioxide and other gases that trap heat in the Earth s atmosphere, which contributes to global climate change. But due to bureaucracy global climate change is still considered a myth Why is climate change ignored? Two realities threaten the well being of future generations. The first is global warming. In the words of the most recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, each of the last three decades has been successively warmer at the earth s surface than any preceding decade since 1850. Furthermore, it goes on, in the Northern Hemisphere [the period] 1983 2012 was likely the warmest 30 year period of the last 1400 years. (1) The resulting rise of sea levels, increased storm intensity, and ecological disruptions promise to impose a heavy cost on those who come of age twenty years from now. The second is that ... • 3. Financial Statements Measure The Liquidity And The... Introduction The financial statements measure the liquidity and the strength of a business. On the balance sheet; offsets calculate the real value of accounts receivables and fixed assets. Uncollectible accounts receivables and depreciation reflect the offsets reported on financial statements. In accordance with generally accepted accounting principles(GAAP); two methods compute the uncollectible accounts receivable expense. Just like uncollectible accounts offset the value of accounts receivables; so do depreciationexpenses counteract the value of fixed assets. Also called contra accounts, the journal entries accumulate and are then recorded on the balance sheet. Part One Uncollected Receivables The first technique is the write off method. Small companies with a small number of uncollected accounts receivables, or, bad debts; utilize this process. Once a customer account becomes worthless, a write off occurs. Immediately, the write off is recorded in the journal; applied directly to the uncollectible customer account. The first step in this journal entry; debit the customer s accounts receivable account. In the next entry; credit the allowance for doubtful accounts. With this process, an accumulation of entries are completed during the period, as customer accounts become uncollectible. The book Financial Accounting (Duchac, Reeve, Warren, 2014) states: At the end of a period, Allowance for Doubtful Accounts will normally have a balance. Second, the ... Besides tearing the ACL, we need to know any knee injuries can cause a player to be sidelined from training and competitions for a long period unfortunately. Therefore, the knee injuries usually are the main cause to break the careers of soccer players. (Source: http://www.englewoodortho.com) Although hamstring strains (muscle group at the back of your thigh) will not seriously affect the careers of soccer players, they still make lots of players endure torment on it. The reason is that hamstring strains easily occur when the thigh muscles of a player are not strong enough. This situation usually happens when the player lacks time for recovery between training and competitions or receives excessive intensity training or matches when the player recently recovers from injuries. • 5. Vincent Van Gogh s The Starry Night A very popular work of art by Vincent Van Gogh would be The Starry Night. Vincent Van Gogh depicted a night in the town as a symbolic image of emotion with the exploding stars, a night where one can dream, and the comfort of others as homes are brightly lit. Through this painting, Vincent van Gogh expresses personal insight and feelings through it. Van Gogh had a mental illness and it said that between seizures, he would do these paintings because it allowed him to have great clarity. Van Gogh painted The Starry Nightby memory and his work symbolize his great illness and a moment of sanity since he was at Saint Remy during the time he painted this portraying what he saw from the window of his bedroom. During the time this painting was made,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The different shapes throughout the painting like the stars and the houses as well as the colors expressed in the sky and in the dark hillsides and the texture of the rich and thick strokes in the painting create these Art Principles. Unity is shown in the painting as all the elements belong together and fit with one another to create a harmonious whole. The bright yellow blue night sky is filled with stars and movement around it which guides the viewer s eyes in the same movement as the lines go not only in the sky but in the hills. The hills are moving upward and then downwards onto the brightly lit buildings repeating harmoniously in the painting. The variety of the orange color is seen in the stars and moon and in some of the houses represented as a light. Patterns are seen in the skylines and stars as they move across. Asymmetrical balance is seen in the work of art because even with the patterns, the right and left sides are not the same because of the different and variety of elements that balance together based on their meaning. The large moon in the painting is where you look at the longest because of its size which draws attention to the stars around it balance it. The small yellow stars balance out the dark and large blue sky because the warm dark blue color is heavier than the cool yellow color. The focal point of the painting would be attention grabber which is the big moon position in the top right corner with its bright colors of orange yellow and its big size to call attention to it. The stars in the midnight blue sky show the subordination of the painting since there is lesser interest in those areas. Eyes are drawn from left to right in direction to the focal point of the painting like a force that shows the path the viewer s eyes need to follow which is provided by the swirling ... • 6. Bees Persuasive Speech Imagine living in a world without bees. What would you eat? What would you wear? What would the environment be like? You may think that there would be very little change but think again. The production in crops would decline due to the fact that 70% of the 90% crop species that we consume are pollinated by bees, not to mention that delicious honey they provide. Because of this, hunger and poverty would be at an all time high. Our choice in clothing would decrease as well, being that cotton relies on pollination. Bees even influence our fuel; canola production would plummet causing a reliance on fossil fuels and resulting in a huge pressure on our environment. Our world would become a huge, barren desert because of plants not being able to grow. Humans would most likely die off due to starvation and thirst, and it s all because of bees. In this speech we are going to learn about what all the buzz is about the benefits of bees to us, then we will learn about the causes of beeextinction... you wouldn t bee lieve it! Lastly, we will buzz on over to learn about how we can help the bees in our community. Now, let s stop to pollinate our first point, our dependence on bees... The way we eat largely depends on bees and other pollinators. Every 1 in 3 bites of food we eat is another reason to thank a bee. Coffee, nuts, seeds, berries, fruits, and vegetables are all pollinated and made possible by bees and without them we would not have most of these foods. The loss of one bee species can affect what we eat, some bees are used to pollinate certain plants, such as squash bees. Bees can also affect what nutrients we are getting, bees allow us to have a balanced diet and without bees we would have a diet that lacks in vital nutrients. As I said before, bees pollinate the 70% out of the 90% of our crops that we consume, most of the crops that allow us to have a balanced and healthy diet. In a video titled, The Death of Bees Explained , the author states that the crops that we feed our livestock with are largely dependent on honey bees, which effects our milk and meat. In result of the large influence, bees are a Keystone Species, a keystone species is a species that is largely depended on in an ecosystem and if they were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In life a person has the freedom to eat what they want and when they want, but when diagnosed as a diabetic that all changes. Being diabetic is like being in prison. A diabetic and a prisoner must develop to a new lifestyle, cope with the lack of certain privileges and rights, and handle monitoring their blood sugarlevels all day like being watched by the patrol guards. First, a diabetic has a new lifestyle of constant finger pricks and insulin injections to get acquainted with. The ability to develop a new schedule and activities of living as a diabetic is at times painful and hard. The ordinary life of going day by day not worried about what a person eats gets torn right out from underneath them. Diabetics have a hard time coping with the totally new way of living. Being diabetic is like being a prisoner in one s own body. A prisoner also must develop a new lifestyle. V2 Rocket Research Paper Title spot If you were to ask someone about rockets or rocketry they would probably talk about rocket ships or satellites and the good they do for mankind, few would speak of the darker side of rockets the side that started them all. Most wouldn t think that the age of rocketry started in the middle of the Second World War but it did, and the amount of destruction that came from the earliest of the rockets was devastating and highly unexpected. The V2 Rocket was the first in a long lineage of weapons that would change the way war was fought for many years. Despite the terrible things that came from the development of the V2 Rockets they were a very necessary technological advancement. The concept of a weapon that traveled faster than the speed of sound in 1944 was science fiction to even to some of the most advanced minds at the time, but it didn t take very long for one man, Wernher von Braun, to start developing this new weapon. • 12. Mammal Exhalation Research Paper A Mammal is a member of a large group of animals with warm blood, fur and the ability to produce milk. Gas exchange in mammals occurs by the inhalation of oxygen and the exhalation of carbon dioxide. As mammals inhale oxygen it passes through the trachea which is a long tube made out of c shaped cartilage ring which widens and lengthens as the mammal inhales and goes back to its normal shape when the mammal exhales. Inhalation is when the diaphragm relaxes releasing the pressure inside the lungs which draws oxygeninto the body through the mouth, down the trachea, bronchi (tubes connecting to the trachea) and the bronchioles (small connecting tubes between the bronchi and alveoli within the lungs). Exhalation is when it contracts and increases the pressure in the lungs pushing carbon... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This means that before carbon dioxide can diffuse into the capillaries through the alveolus there must be a low carbon dioxide concentration in the alveolus so that is can diffuse out of the blood into the capillaries and into an alveolus (since diffusion is the movement of particles from an area of high to an area of low concentration). This is the same for oxygen but in order for oxygen to diffuse into the capillaries and then into the blood stream there must be a high concentration of oxygen in the alveolus, from here the oxygen rich blood flows to the many places around the body where it is needed. A ventilation system allows this process of diffusion of both gases to occur by getting rid of the carbon dioxide in the alveolus and bringing in more oxygen. A sustainable blood flow is crucial for Gas Exchange as it is the process of the diffusion of oxygen and carbon dioxide to and from the blood stream. The vast network of capillaries surrounding the alveolus ensures a continuous supply of blood to carry the oxygen away. Within the blood is the presence of the respiratory pigment called haemoglobin, this pigment binds with blood to increase the oxygen carrying ability of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. The Fantasy Football League Fantasy football is one discourse community that I participate in every year along with my friends and family. If a stranger were to listen to any conversations we were having about fantasy football, they may not understand some of the knowledge that is required of someone to contribute to the fantasy football domain. This is true because within a fantasy football league there are many different phrases and terminology that we would not use on a regular basis. I would like to start off by explaining what fantasy football is and how it works. Fantasy football is all about constructing a virtual team made up of NFL players. At the start of any football season, everyone who want to be in the fantasy league gets together to have a draft. These team owners proceed to pick NFL players that they want for their team. Depending on what league someone is in determines what type of players an owner can put on their team. Typically a starting team will consist of one quarterback, a couple receivers and running backs, a kicker, a tight end, and a team defense. The owner with the first pick starts, this is usually the manager of the league. After he picks a player from the NFL, the next owner will pick a player and it goes down the line until all the owners have one player on their team. To make this process fair the owner with the last pick gets the first pick in the second round of the draft and then it will go up the line to the owner who had the first pick, and after the owner with ... His decision not to attend and not to inform anyone that he was not going to attend is significant because it demonstrates Stark s self centered mindset and that he places little importance on the impact his decisions have on others. Later, when Stark has been captured by terrorists who demand that he build a missile for them Stark s immediate response is to refuse, even though they may kill him for refusing. This is important because it shows that despite Stark s constant disrespectful behavior towards others he does believe that the lives of innocent people are inherently of value. Stark s decision to fight his way out of the terrorist camp is another significant decision Stark makes. It shows that he is willing to kill people when it is not the only way to preserve his own life. Once he gets out of the cave he could have used the suit s rockets to fly away, but he instead smashes his way through the entire terrorist camp. When Stark returns to the United States he immediately holds a press conference and announces that, because he learned that terrorists were using his weapons against US troops his company will no longer be making weapons. The moral implications of this decision are huge. His reason is to prevent terrorists from killing people, but his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Statistical Analysis On The Rate Of Cytoplasmic Streaming Statistical analysis of variations in the rate of cytoplasmic streaming in Nitella pseudoflabellata due to differences in cell width and treatment with mechanism inhibitory cytochalasins C and D observed using light microscopy Introduction Cytoplasmic streaming is the organised flow of the cytoplasm and its constituents within a living cell (Shimmen et al., 2004). Organelles and important molecules move through the cytosol along the structure of the cytoskeleton (actin filaments and microtubules) with the aid of myosin I, an actin binding motor protein that plays a part in various cell functions including cell motility and endocytosis (Flavell et al., 2008). (1980), while the rate of cytoplasmic streaming does not vary with the size of the motile particle (organelle, cargo molecule, etc.) or the size of the cell itself, larger cells with increased surface area may absorb these mechanism inhibitory substances more readily and may therefore have slower rates of cytoplasmic streaming as less F actin is available to the myosin complex at any one time. SAGHE Case Study Background From 1958 and more than half a century cadaveric pituitary derived human growth hormone (hGH) was available for replacement therapy until around 1985 when it was understood that a significant number of children treated with cadaver obtained hGH died because of Creutzfeldt Jakob disease. Since 1985, drug manufacturers are using engineered bacteria to make recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) with a higher purity but several short term side effects. Background Since 1984 when the first treatment with rhGH was started until today, short term safety of rgHG replacement therapy is evaluated based on large groups of patients. The height gains results of the hormone on children with severe GH deficiency is generally satisfactory. However, in children with short stature due to other reasons, the height gains and changes in the quality of life is poorly evaluated and its clinical significance is also under controversy. Furthermore, the long term effect on neither of the groups has ever been evaluated and this is while the signals of oncogenic side effect such as the appearance of Leukemia or other cancers in European countries are worrying and questioning the safety of synthetic recombinant human growth hormone. SAGhE will also include young adults height and quality of life evaluations in the research plan to determine how much benefit these young adults have been gained by this hormone therapy. In the U.S, approximately 80 percent of adults experience back pain sometime in their life, with a total health care expenditure of 90.7 billion in 1998 (Luo, Pietrobon, Sun, Liu, Hey, 2004). LBP is the second most frequent systematic reason for visits to primary healthcare providers (Hart, Deyo, Cherkin, 1995) and is usually recurrent with exacerbations that tend to increase in severity. Intelligence is an interesting concept and whilst we understand and can agree that it is what differentiates us from other all the other animals it is almost impossible to agree exactly how to measure it. One of the preferred definitions by Dr Jenny Taylor, a clinical physiologist is that intelligence is the ability for the organism to adapt itself to the environment in which it finds itself. This is an extremely broad expression which could be applied to any living thing. The difficulty comes in the very word measurement which implies some form of numerical logic. • 24. The Cause Of Violence And Crime In America Violence has a deep history since the creation of human civilizations on earth. There is no definite factor that decides the cause of violence. Per the psychologists, it is in the childhood of a person that dictates his interest in violence. This causes the debate of nature vs. nurture. Violence can be caused by influence of both. Violence is also caused by societal conflicts especially in the area of government. Citizens of a nation often do not have say in the policies of their government and may return to violence to show their anger. Violence is a powerful way to show strength and intimidate others. Most people commit violence because of their inability to understand why life isn t fair at all times. For them committing a violent crimeproves to be their own sense of satisfaction that they have done something to change what bothers them. Other times, it is the helpless victim of cultural stereotypes and societal dispositions that commits violence merely by being manipulated. Big organizations such as mafia gangs commit violence for money and security. Thus, there isn t just one simple cause/reasons individuals or organizations commit violence. It is often a combination of multiple factors. 2.How can we reduce violent crime in America? In recent years, America has become prone to violence. The analysis of cell morphology is important to study cell behaviour such as the uptake of nutrients [1]. Three different plates of 3T3 L1 cells were examined. 2 of the plates were grown then differentiated into adipocytes. After differentiation, these cells were fixed with formalin then one was stained with Oil Red O. The last plate was grown to confluency, but did not undergo differentiation before fixing with formalin. After imaging these cells using a fluorescence microscope, the images were analyzed with the Image J software. The reverend s wife spoke about an abortion that she went through before she found Christ. That abortion led to her guilt for many years. The concept of parole dates back to the establishment of the Elmira Reformatory. The goal of the Elmira Reformatory was to rehabilitate and reform the criminal instead of following the traditional method of silence, obedience, and labor. Parole was originally set up to encourage prisoners to do well, keep their noses clean, and become model prisoners. Once a prisoner had shown rehabilitation and reform they were released prior to the execution of their full sentence. At the TPD a case manager will be assigned to interview the inmate and find out his/her plan for parole. This plan is filed and is sent to the parole board. The parole board then interviews the inmate and will vote on the case. If parole is granted the prison officials will prepare the inmate for release. Critical Analysis Of Elizabeth Barrett Browning The Hopeless Romantic: Elizabeth Barrett Browning In the poem How do I love thee? by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Browning asks how she loves her beloved and goes on to list the ways in which she loves him. Her love is seen as eternal and exists everywhere which brings to light the tone and styling of the poem and how it fits in the movement it was written in. Elizabeth Barrett Browning was born in 1806 at Coxhoe Hall, Durham, England. (Poetry Foundation) During the time of her writings, she was seen as one of the most influential poets for the Romantic Movement. Romantics focused on nature, human feelings and compassion, and rebelling for a cause, which Browning shows a lot of throughout her sonnet. Browning was born in 1806 at Coxhoe Hall in Durham, England. She was a romantic writer but it closely reflected the life she was living at the time. The oldest of twelve children, Elizabeth was the first in her family born in England in over two hundred years. For centuries, the Barrett family, who were part Creole, had lived in Jamaica, where they owned sugar plantations and relied on slave labor. (Poetry Foundation) Elizabeth s father, chose to raise his family in England, while his fortune grew in Jamaica. Educated at home Elizabeth apparently read passages from Paradise Lost and a number of Shakespearean plays, among other great works, before the age of ten. By her twelfth year, she had written her first epic poem, which consisted of four books of rhyming couplets. In 1826 , Elizabeth anonymously published her collection An Essay on Mind and Other Poems. Two years later, her mother passed away and the slow abolition of slavery in England and mismanagement of the plantations depleted the Barrett s income. Elizabeth s father moved his family to a coastal town and rented cottages for the next three years before settling permanently in London. Her father did not allow his children to marry, having them work on the plantations in Jamaica instead. Wayne fights to hold on to what he believes in and show the world the true meaning of the Batman costume. This fight categorizes not only Wayne s character but also the character of Batman. The comic pushes the characters into stereotypical roles of what a hero and a villain are. Initially, Bruce Wayne is presented as the canon good guy or the hero, while Batman is presented as the stereotypical bad guy . The Bible tells humans that God created them and explains their purpose. Most institutions of higher education and many individuals have adopted the naturalistic theory of evolution to explain human origin without considering its effects on faith. Some theistic evolutionists prefer to be called evolutionary creationists. Most of the following arguments against theistic evolution could also be applied to any combination of Christianity and macroevolution (i.e. bacteria to human evolution), irregardless of its label. Naturalism or Christianity as a Foundation for a System of Ethics Theistic evolution meshes two worldviews, naturalism and Christianity, and each worldview lays a foundation for a system of ethics and morality. Let us first examine more closely the foundation laid by naturalism. Naturalism deifies chance. Random chance is responsible for life as we know it. In The Beak of the Finch, evolutionist Jonathan Weiner writes, Natural selection leads to evolution. He further explains that for natural selection to occur, the organisms most suited to their environment will survive (1995, p. 128). The best adapted organisms are more likely to pass on their genetic information while the less well adapted lose out in the great battle of life. Such a view of origins establishes by extrapolation a moral and ethical foundation. If humans are only products of chance evolution, they will naturally follow the instincts that have been ingrained in them for millions of years. They will pass on their genetic information to as many offspring as possible. Because they have gained great intelligence and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
