Wonder Woman And Superman
The most famous heroine of all time, says DC Entertainment. Wonder Woman has it all, from
beauty to brains to brawn. She was known as Diana, the Princess of the Amazons, before she
became known as Wonder Woman. She is similar to male superheroes, such as Superman, in
many ways, but there are definitely differences. I think we can all agree that the most obvious
difference is Wonder Woman is a girl. She teaches love, and she fights for peace. She doesn t
fight unless it is necessary. She stands for feminism and represents an evolving female. Wonder
Woman was the Princess of the Amazons. She was born and raised on what is known as
Paradise Island. This is where she learned how to fight like a warrior. She received her powers
from the Greek gods. Once she received the powers, she decided to go to America to help fight
against the criminals and villains in the world. Supermanwas from a planet called Krypton. His dad
sent him to Earth on a rocket ship in order to save him from the attack on their planet. Upon
arriving to Earth, Superman gained power after absorbing the yellow sun rays. As his powers grew
stronger, he started to utilize them in a positive way. All superheroes have super abilities. Some of
the abilities Wonder Woman and Superman have in common are super strength, super speed,
durability, healing power, stamina, and enhanced senses. They can anticipate the next move of their
enemy. Although many superheroes also share these basic capabilities, they have

Western Themes In The Film Mad Max 2
The 1970 s and 1980 s was considered to be a golden period in Australian cinema, with many
classic Australian films, such as Crocodile Dundee, being released during this era. One such film
that helped develop Australia s reputation in the film industry on an international level, was the
Mad Max trilogy, specifically Mad Max 2, released in 1981.
Despite being a post apocalyptic film, Mad Max 2 reflects themes of an old Western movie, with
Max, a former sheriff, mirroring a Western hero, with his car in place of a horse, driving
throughout a barren wasteland (Ratto, 2014, pp.78). After rescuing a man having been attacked by
a group of outlaws, knows as The Marauders, Max returns the injured man to his settlement and
goes on to help the entire settlement escape from The Marauders. This resemblance to an old
Western film, gave Mad Max 2 the ability to break into the international film market, which was at
the time (and still today) dominated by American films, especially old Westerns. The success of the
first and second Mad Max films also resulted in a boom in production of Australian films, resulting
in more making it on an international market. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A common theme in many post apocalyptic films, is that of technology being the cause of the
event that formed the post apocalyptic world, or else have, the apocalyptic catastrophe often
destroy the technology and infrastructures of the modern world (Harris, 2016, pp.14). Whilst most
technology in Mad Max 2 is non existence, the emphasis on vehicles differs Mad Max 2 from
other films in the post apocalyptic genre, instead showing the power of technology as those with
cars and the skills to drive them, give them an advantage over those without, along with the
necessities of survival. The themes of Road Warrior are fundamentally based on...technological

The Role Of Russian Government
In today s society, countries in the world are expected to provide support and freedom to residing
citizens. Democratic governance plays a strong hand in citizen representation, and is necessary for
citizens to have a voice in their government. While some countries have a smooth operating system,
many still do not. The country of Russia is under very strict control by current President, Vladimir
Putin. Many citizens of Russia want change, however, their efforts are muted by government
officials. With lack of transparency and accountability, Russian citizens are unaware of what is
actually happening in the government. Russian citizens have few individual rights that are upheld
by the constitution. While the country has worked hard to move... Show more content on

Government actions are often secretive, canceling out the idea of transparency for citizens. Often
times, positions of power or wealth in Russia have the ability to hide fraud in the system from
citizens. (Kasparov, Garry, 2007). Citizen s do not have the option to challenge unfair governmental
practices or have information provided of governmental proceedings. This reduces the amount
information citizens see and know about within the government.
While individual rights in Russia are outlined in the constitution, often times these rights are not
protected. Citizens have the ability of freedom of religion, which is one freedom stated in the
constitution they do have. Other freedoms, such as: same sex marriage, or gender discrimination
are not stated. There are currently no laws supporting or denying same sex marriage in Russia.
Homosexuals can openly serve in the military, however, it is illegal for them to wed. Women in
Russia are subject to domestic violence, sexual harassment, and rape with minimal chance of
prosecution for the accused. Women struggle finding jobs in Russia, with the fear their presence
will be lacking in the home. (Beschastna, Tatyana). The information provided allows the inference
to be made that individual rights are minimally or not at all protected. While citizens are allowed
certain liberties in the constitution, often times these laws are not upheld. Individuals

Good Money And Bad Money
Throughout the novel, Self s personal life and moral squalor are refracted through the filter of his
film project. The project itself is one of Self s many attempts to double himself in the novel. Thus
it is not surprising that his life and the film project get constantly inter tangled. Caduta Massi,
approached to play the role of the mother, takes an immediate maternal interest in the motherless
Self, and literally succors him at her breast. Butch Beausoleil, sought for the part of the mistress,
embarrasses Self sexually in anticipation of Selina s later betrayal. And the revised plot of the film,
alternately titled Good Money and Bad Money, concludes with a scene of Oedipal violence that
anticipates Self s violent encounter with his father

Jamaic Out Of Many, One People
Jamaica: Out of Many, One People History of the Culture One would think that an island would
have a culture of its own with very little outside influence, however that is not the case with this
island. Located in the Caribbean Sea, Jamaica is rich in culture from its European and African
history. Jamaica was first populated by the Taino people, who were also called Arawaks, in AD
600. It was then found by Christopher Columbus in 1492, and shortly thereafter became a
Spanish Territory. A decade later, the population was equally split between Spanish and slaves
with a small percentage of free blacks and the native Taino people. In 1655, the English army
captured Jamaica and fifteen years later, Jamaica formerly concedes to England. A decade later,
the slaves, making up eighty four percent of the population, decided to rebel. However, full
emancipation from slavery happened in 1838, almost a century later despite the gross population
unbalance. Beginning in 1841, the island started having more outside influence when the first
indentured workers arrived from Africa, India, China, Syria, Lebanon and the Mediterranean. In
1962, Jamaica gained full independence from Britain after almost two decades of self government
formation. The history and vast cultural influences of Jamaica makes the country s motto of Out
of many, One People ring true. (Mordecai Mordecai, 2001) Slavery of a nation is a tragic hardship
of the people, however the abolition of slavery brought

Persuasive Essay On Taking Care Of A Home
In my eyes, homes are nothing more than a vessel that provides shelter. From there the owner or
user adds value and comfort to the homes, but the home still does not provide anything itself except
shelter. In addition, you are also dependent on local utility companies to provide you with your
other needs, and the homestill provides only shelter. In a modern society we demand everything
to have more than one purpose, but for our homes we buy additions that are multi purpose, in
order to make the home more suitable for the user. Why don t we have homes that work? What
if you could have a home built in such a way that it regulates its own temperature, provides water,
generates electricity, and more? In a world of dependency, mankind should take steps into taking
care of themselves in order to put less burden on others. While it might sound impossible that a
house can work for you, it is further from the truth. We are in a society of cookie cutter homes
that are nothing but a box that must be hooked into a grid and multiple external systems in order
to create a house that the average person could live in. Michael Reynolds, is the master mine
behind a new way of constructing homes. The homes he creates are called Earthships. Don t let the
celestial name deter you, these homes are made to support every need a person has without any
help from outside sources; the homes are completely self sufficient. Population is on the rise and

Maleficent Theme
In the movie Maleficent, the audience comes to their own opinions about the main character
Maleficent in the film. This film also features characters like Aurora, Stefan, and Diaval which
allows the audience to see her different sides and views of good and evil through other characters
perceptions of Maleficent. This is seen throughout the film and can be seen with her relationship
between King Stefan and his daughter Aurora along with her servant Diaval. There is no easy way
to define the line between good evil. This is an overarching theme throughout the movie
Maleficent because there are different opinions on these 3 characters and the other background
characters in the film. In the first scene of the movie, we see Maleficent as a good child who is
seen as the strongest of the fairies in this film. When we see her and how the other characters
from the Moors the mythical area in which Maleficent lives, see her as a good, nice, playful, and
very fair person who looks over the Moors and those who live in it. Stefan, in the beginning,
allows ourselves as the audience to see an, even more, a clearer picture of Maleficent and how
good and magnificent she is however from what he does later in the movie to Maleficent
changes how we see her and perceive is good or evil of her. It is seen throughout this film
Maleficent isn t purely evil nor purely good. Sending the message that people are made to be both
good and evil. Trying to define good and evil is like trying to

that she not only wants a divorce, but she cheated on him as well. Cal starts the moving on

the bar, in which she orders him to take her home. Hanna goes back to Jacob s house initially to

about his mother. Jacob goes on to explain that she was, beautiful and smart, was cold and vain.
He then starts talking about his father and explained that he died a long time ago, but he was a
smart, businessman. Jacob then goes on to talk about his father and says, but he was soft, just too
soft too sensitive, and you know he couldn t handle my mother. One can assume that Jacob s
father expressed feminine traits that are called Expressive traits, because of the emotional and
social skills that Jacob expressed how his father was when he was alive. On the other hand, Jacob
s mother expressed masculine traits that are called Instrumental traits, therefore, she was opposite
then Jacobs father, in which she was more task oriented. Although it was not said, one can assume
that Jacob holds some resentment towards his mother for his fathers death, therefore, the reason
why he treats women the way he does, and the person who Cal reminded Jacob of in the beginning

Gimpel the Fool
There are a variety of different conclusions that one can reach in interpreting the story of Gimpel
the Fool. The story draws its roots from the deep Yiddish background of the author, Isaac Bashevis
Singer, and it deals with the traditional ―fool‖ archetype dealt with so often in the culture. The
very archetype is plagued with irony, as the fool is typically seen as coming out on top of all of the
others in the story, making them seem as the fool rather than the ―fool‖ himself. Gimpel the
Fool follows the archetype well. In some instances, the idea of this particular archetype can be
frustrating, as the typical reader may want the main character to get the revenge he deserves. This
is rarely the case, as in doing so, it would make the main... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Everyone tried to fool him while he was living with the baker. Even with as much as he was made

not to. The rabbi once told him ―It is written, beter to be a fool al your days than for one hour to
be evil. You are not a fool. They are the fools. For he who causes his neighbor to feel shame loses
Paradise himself.‖ Regardless, the rabbi s own daughter played a prank on him. Gimpel later

raised a commotion. Elka denied the accusation. The rabbi told Gimpel that he must divorce her.

Prevention, Detection And Diagnosis Of Periodontal Disease
The most recent NHANES survey, conducted in 2012, estimated the prevalence of periodontitis in
adults aged thirty to seventy to be 47.2%.[1] This survey did not include younger age groups, in
which aggressive periodontitis is more often seen. Aggressive periodontitis has been reported to
affect 0.2 10% of the population below twenty one years of age in African American and Hispanic
subpopulations.[2] If left untreated, chronic and aggressive forms of periodontitiscan lead to tooth
loss and may contribute to the etiology and/or progression of certain systemic inflammatory
diseases.[3, 4] In current periodontal practice, detection and diagnosis of periodontal diseaseis
mainly derived from a comprehensive clinical examination in combination with a review of patient
medical and dental history. An accurate periodontal diagnosis is the first step in the development of
a well designed and suitable treatment plan for management of a patient with a periodontal disease.
Based on the current classification provided by the American Academy of Periodontology(AAP),
published in 1999, severity of periodontitis is based on the amount of clinical attachment loss
(CAL) as follows: slight 1 2 mm, moderate 3 4 mm, and severe ≥ 5 mm. Attachment loss is
measured by adding the pocket probing depth and the amount of recession. [5] In clinical practice,
however, measurement of CAL has proven to be difficult and time consuming. Though it is the
currently accepted system, academicians,

Media s Influence On The Political World
The media plays a considerable role in the political world. The media gives people access to be
able to determine which political party they want to be a part of, develop outlooks on government
parties and decisions, and manage their own personal interests. The newspaper, TV, radio, social
media, and other online media, are one of the leading factors, if not thee leading factor in political
communication and fund raising. The media s influence on the political world has shattered the
mold in terms of the way politics are shown. Mass mediahas such a powerful structure that enables
politicians to reach a large scale audience (Croteau Hoynes 2014). The purpose of this essay is to
look at how politicians use the media in order to influence their audience as they try to validate their
credibility with the public.
The influence of the media is more prominent during political campaigns because news coverage of
a single event could turn out to be the most significant factor in putting a candidate ahead. In fact,
most national political figures, plan public appearances and statements to increase their influence
throughout the media. Often times, candidates and their consultants consume much of their time
developing strategies and plans to get the most impact on their television audience. Advertising,
management of news coverage, and campaign debates are often the types of coverage that political
candidates use. The appearance of candidates in presidential debates is as important

The Wonder behind The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank...
The Wonder behind The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Often, people who enjoy reading are found
disappointed by the film versions of their favorite books. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L.
Frank Baum and The Wizard of OZ movie produced by Vincent Fleming serve as a good
example of a distorted transition from text to film. While the novel was originally created to
teach that anything is possible with hard work and is a straightforward children s book, the film
tacks on many unintended morals, further changing the stories meaning. While which one
preferred is only an opinion, adapted aspect s of the novel including the reality of Oz, Kansas,
and Dorothy s characterization each alter what the story was meant to be, which was an
innocent fairytale. In the film, Dorothy travels to Oz by being sucked into a cyclone and then
landing in the middle of a magical realm. Once the novels reaches it s ending, Dorothy wakes up,
having bumped her head, revealing that Oz was nothing but a dream all along. In the novel Oz
is a real place that Dorothy travels to and from. This idea is much more exciting for the audience
and especially children because it makes the story line more believable, allowing them to get lost
in their imagination. Culver states, Baum s text describes a different relation between fantasy and
reality and how his Dorothy doesn t try to run away and isn t dreaming but it merely confronts by
accident a fantastic world contagious with and just as real as ¬¬Kansas . This

Self-Images and Selfies
Self Image and Selfies: A Freudian Analysis
Chosen as Oxford dictionaries as the 2013 word of the year, the term selfie refers to a
photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded
to a social media website . The term has made a definite mark on popular culture, the frequency
usage increased over 17,000% in the 2012 2013 year (BBC News). With the rise in popularity
there has also been much discussion on the possible effects of the selfie phenomena. Some articles
argue that taking a high number of selfies is a sign of the increasing narcissism and self
objectification of modern culture that may lead to mental health issues such as Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. Others suggest that taking selfies
empowers the individual and promotes healthy levels of self esteem. While viewpoints on the
topic tend to be diametrically divided, a Freudian perspective provides support for both views, as
the topic is more complex than it first seems.
In order to understand the interest in selfies, their ramifications, and to better apply a Freudian
perspective, it is important to first discuss the cultural prevalence and significance. Selfies are
widespread due to the ease of access of the technology. People everywhere, from the US President
and the Pope to astronauts in space to elementary school children have the ability to capture photos
of themselves and have been involved in selfies. The popularity of the practice is

In 1997, the state of Florida botched Pedro Medina s execution. When the switch was flipped on
the 50 year old electric chair, nicknamed Old Sparky, the mask covering Medina s face caught on
fire. Flames up to a foot long shot of his face for 6 10 seconds. A thick, black smoke filled the
room, and the prison guards closed the curtain, hiding the rest of the job from the shocked
witnesses. Bob Butterworth, then Florida s attorney general, said that Medina s agonizing death
would be a deterrent to crime. People who want to commit murder, he said, better not do so in
Florida because we may have a problem with our electric chair.
Such cases are likely to horrify death penalty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no telling how many more of the approximately 3,600 people awaiting execution are not
guilty, but it is worth noting that 87 men have been freed from death row since 1977, with three
already released this year.
A newly released study of 62 inmates cleared by DNA evidence demonstrates that mistaken
eyewitness testimony was involved in 84% of the wrongful convictions (San Francisco Chronicle, 2
/16/00).
A February 2000 Gallup Poll showed that death penalty support is at a 19 year low.
The United States is the only Western democracy that still carries out executions. Since 1976, 41
other countries have abolished the death penalty.
Every year, New Jersey pays $22.8 million for the death penalty process. Per person, life
imprisonment costs about $850,000. (National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty).
There is no conclusive evidence that the death penalty deters crime. The murder rate remained
constant in Texas between 1984, when the state started speeding up its execution rate, and 1997.
In 1998, there were 18, 209 murders. Prosecutors ask for the death penalty in a fraction of cases,
juries only approve it in a third of those, and one half of the

William Blake Thesis
Throughout recent decades there has been a clear shift in moral rationale with many of the
practices found within western society, particularly those involving children performing dangerous
labor intensive activities. Although child labor may seem like a thing of the past to those living in
the first world, it is well and alive around the globe. Child labor is prevalent in various developing
nations throughout Asia, Africa, and South America; where both child labor and child slaveryrun
rampant today. In his work The Chimney Sweeper, William Blake elucidates the experiences of
young boys in England who were sold off by their parents to work as chimney sweepers. Similarly,

Modern society is troubled by remnants of the past that exist today, not only due the pervasive
exploitation of child labor in developing nations, but also because of the fact that child labor is
undeniably at an all time high.
The Chimney Sweeper is a poem by William Blake that attempts to shed light on the bleak and
dreadful experiences of children working as chimney sweepers. Blake integrates religion in his
poems to describe the salvation children desire while working brutal and agonizing jobs. In his
poem, Blake writes [that] thousands of sweepers... locked up in coffins of black ... by came an
Angel who had a bright key, And he opened the coffins set them all free (Blake, 11 14). The idea
that a child of that era was capable of thinking such grim dreams shows the tragic those children
lived, and that these children were hopeless. The purpose of the poem is relevant to what is
occurring today in developing countries throughout the globe. Tolan investigates the utilization of
child labor in Bangladesh, a country of 165 million in South Asia. Children are found working in
Bangladeshi shipyards dissecting steel and other metals off of decommissioned ships, often times

Origami Ad Analysis Essay
Extra Manipulation
Extra brings a whole new feeling to gum commercials. This advertisement follows an evolving
father daughter bond over Extra gum, and its origami transformed wrapper. With many scenes and
time spans presented, Extra achieves to get its viewing audience s undivided attention.

television, but by targeting a certain audience, that come from a given place, social position, gender
and age.

By the end of this commercial, a box filled with the origami birds spills on the driveway. There
are a lot of birds that fall out, which is just solidifying the fact that this is a popular, heavily
consumed product. The use of origami is also very light hearted, and shows how this type of gum
will bring happiness to people. That being said, Extra presents a higher emotional level than
expected, it is no longer just a chewing gum, but it is now a way to bring families closer together.
The realism of the ad means buyers will have a stronger attachment to this product, since it is
heartfelt and relatable.
Another persuasive technique used, is the choice of colours, and their importance. This
advertisement always uses happy colours , some of the main ones include; light pinks, purples,
blues, whites and yellows. Using such light colours will keep the viewer in a content mindset,
throughout the commercial. Contrary to blacks and greys, which have a more depressing tone to
them, these colours are appealing to the eye and when a customer is satisfied with an
advertisement, they are likely to be interested in the

Jesus And Hahnukkah Research Paper
Jesus and Hanukkah
Yeshua, (Jesus) did not spend a lot of time in Jerusalem. Most of His ministry is recorded to be
around Galilee. He would have made His pilgrimage to Jerusalem on the following appointed feast
days:
Pesach or Passover
Shavuot or Pentecost
Yom Kippur or The Day of Atonement
Rosh Hashanah, Yom Teruah or Jewish New Year
The Feast of Trumpets
Sukkot or The Feast of Tabernacles.
He is however found in Jerusalem on the 25th of Kislev. Kislev is the ninth month on the Biblical
calendar and corresponds to November and December on our Gregorian calendar. We are told in
John, that Jesus went into the Temple to join in the celebration of the festival of dedication.

The Jews surrounded Him and wanted Him to identify Himself as the Messiah. He more or less
told them that He had already done that, but they did not believe Him anyway.
It was here in Solomon s porch that Jesus had identified Himself as the Light of the World at
another time. Jesus is indeed the Shamash, our servant, the eternal light that sheds light in a world
of darkness. Unfortunately, He was not welcome there in the Temple and they began to stone him
for what they perceived to be blasphemy.
What is the lesson of Hanukkah that we can learn for today? As our world becomes darker and
darker, and the laws of our land have become in direct opposition to the laws of God, we need to
guard against assimilation into this world s system. We like the Maccabee s need to stand up
against unrighteousness, even to the point of losing our lives if necessary.
Even when the odds are against us, if we are on Gods side then we have a majority. The Holy
things of God deserve our allegiance and they are to be protected. No one can plunder your temple

Fun activities should be required in the work place. Statistics have shown that employees who

Most of the upper management staff is located on our downtown campus not on campuses
frequented by students. They are not exposed to the stressors that come with seeing students 5 days
a week, 7.5 hours a day. Students come in upset, not necessarily with you, but with their financial
situation or even a personal situation, and take it out on you. You have to always maintain a
professional demeanour when dealing with them to avoid any confrontations. It is easy for a
manager who sits in their office all day to make suggestions on how they think things can be done
better but those suggestions are usually void. Working in the college environment, if you do not see
the stresses, you cannot make suggestions on how to make a campus or department run more
smoothly.
BC does offer professional development days where we can attend workshops. Stress relief and
time management workshops are included. These do not alleviate the stressors we face on a
daily basis or allow us to be able to communicate our ideas for improvement to upper
management. BC should consider implementing a committee consisting of staff members from
each campus to allow them to discuss issues that arise and give suggestions on how to improve
those issues. One problem with working for BC is that most of the front line staff does not feel as
though they are appreciated. Upper management does not reward employees for a job well done.

Giving Advice For Communication Tech Users
Giving Advice to Communication Tech Users Communication is involved in both virtual
setting and face to face settings. You may not think so, but it is true. There is a lack of effective
communication in a email that people may not realize. It really depends on who you are sending
that email to. If you are talking to someone who is like a friend, boy friend or girlfriend, or
relative, you may text them with emojois and exclamation marks. Now, if you were sending an
email to a doctor, a lawyer, or for a job application, it would be completely different. You would
sound more mature. Do you see the difference? Although, it is important to have effective
communication in every single email, it does not matter who you are talking to. Here are some
mistakes people make sending an email, and also solutions to make the email better and have
effective communication.
пЃ¶Mistake: People are not clear with their messages: This can make the person that is reading this
very confused. They are not getting the main idea across of what the email is about. Then you two
would keep going back and forth with emails.
пЃ¶Solution: How to make your email clear and specific is to look at the email as an outline for
writing a one page essay. That means make bullet points for the parts you want to say in your email.
You want to make it clear and short. Don t make your email sound like a list of things because you

Persuasive Essay On Ticks
Introduction
Ticks are insects that draw blood for food. Most ticks live in shrubs and grassy areas. They climb
onto people and animals that brush against the leaves and grasses they rest on. Then they bite,
attaching themselves to the skin.
Most ticks are harmless, but some carry germs that can spread to a person through a bite and
cause disease. To reduce your risk of getting a disease from a tick bite, it is important to take steps
to prevent tick bites. It is also important to check for ticks after being outdoors and, if you find one,
to watch for symptoms of disease.
How can I prevent tick bites?
Take these steps to help prevent tick bites when you are outdoors in an area where ticks are found:

Using tweezers, curved forceps, or a tick removal tool to gently grasp the tick as close to your skin
and the tick s head as possible.
Gently pull with steady, upward pressure until the tick lets go. When removing the tick:
Take care to keep the tick s head attached to its body.
Do not twist or jerk the tick. This can make the tick s head or mouth break off.
Do not squeeze or crush the tick s body. This could force disease carrying fluids from the tick into
your body.
Do not try to remove a tick with heat, alcohol, petroleum jelly, or fingernail polish. Using these
methods can cause the tick to salivate and regurgitate into your bloodstream, increasing your risk of
getting a disease.
What should I do after removing a tick?
Clean wash the bite area with soap and water, rubbing alcohol, or an iodine scrub.
If an antiseptic cream or ointment is available, apply a small amount to the bite site.
Wash and disinfect any instruments you used to remove the tick.
How should I dispose of a tick?
To dispose of a live tick, use one of these methods:
Place the tick in rubbing alcohol.
Place in sealed bag or container.
Wrap it tightly in tape.
Flush it down the toilet.

As a communist state becoming more international acknowledged as a state China had to make
major changes as a government and it had to come externally. China began to manifest an
awareness of environmental problems in the early 1970 s (Ross, 810). This was because China
had gained a seat in the UN and was working with the U.S during this time. Right before the 1972
Stockholm conference China had created a domestic agency that worked with environmental
issues so that they had a voice in the conference. This conference came to the existence of SEPA
which had policies with emission permits that was modeled by economically advanced countries
such as the U.S (Ross, 812). SEPA was a cost to the state and could restrain a growing economy
which was not in China s best interest. Right before the 1992 United Nations Conference on
Environment and Development China and 41 other developing countries made a declaration. This
declaration acknowledged the need for international co operation to promote environmental
protection and sustainable development while demanding financial assistance (Ross, 814). This
was also mentioned by the top leaders of China that economic development would reject in any
interference with domestic politics for environmental policy (Ross, 814). China eventually reached

The Shawshank Redemption Is An American Drama Film...
The Shawshank redemption is an American drama film written and directed by Frank Darabont in
the year 1994, starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. The film s screenplay has been adapted
from the Stephen King Novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank redemption and talks about the life
of a man named Andy Dufresne, a banker who is sentenced to life imprisonment in the Shawshank
State prison for murder of his wife and her lover, even despite his claims of innocence.
While the main genre of the film is drama, it fits into the sub genres of a crime and drama thriller
due to its complex narrative. The narrative is based on prison life and how Andy Dufrense who is
the protagonist, copes with this life imprisonment. Shawshank redemption places its emphasis on
the action taking place rather than the psychological meaning, which only adds to the reasoning of
why thriller is the main sub genre. The movie stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman as two
convicts serving time in a New England prison named Shawshank. The setting of the film is
mainly of the Shawshank prison, which is an external location and is focused on the day to day
activities of the prisoners. Tim Robbins plays the role of a man named Andy Dufresne who is the
main protagonist, while Morgan Freeman plays the role of Ellis Boyd Redding or simply Red.
Supporting characters are played by James Whitmore who is Brooks Hatlen, the librarian and one
of the oldest convicts in the prison, Bob Gunton as Warden Samuel Norton who is

How Did Structural Concepts Influence The Use Of Advocacy...
Introduction The King County Library System is the fifth largest library system in circulation in
the United States. The current director of the KCLS, Bill Ptacek, started with the organization
three years ago and is in the process of working towards a new strategic plan titled The Year 2000
Plan, which has a long term goal of integrating all the resources of the library system equally and
to coordinate all the efforts to ensure it was providing the best possible service to the community.
In the three years, Ptacek worked to expand the mission to cover services for the community to
include children, life long learning, career development, and literacy (case study, 1996, pg.2) The
reworking of the mission and services of KCLS was in full swing, but there were still many
organizational issues dealing with advocacy, encouraging public service motivation, and both
human resource and structural problems.
Explain the use of advocacy inquiry, or lack thereof that occurred throughout the case. How did
structural concepts influence the use of advocacy and inquiry? Bolman and Deal (2013) define
advocacy as including statements that communicate what an individual actually thinks, knows,
wants or feels and inquiry as seeks to learn what others think, know, want or feel, (pg. 167). The
case study exemplifies instances of employees voicing their feelings on issues, but few occasions
where upper management inquired about the feelings of employees on changes to services and

The chain is a timeline of all transaction blocks as discussed above. This chain itself is a ledger
that records in real time all events associated with the block and makes it publicly visible. A new
block can be added to the chain only when one of the network nodes (participant) successfully
solves a complex mathematical problem that often requires high computing power, and gains the
right to add the next block. These complex, algorithm rich computations can also be called as
proof of work/stake computations, which make blockchain almost Sybil resistant, and its
decentralized nature gives it a high level of Byzantine Fault Tolerance . Complex, algorithm rich
proof of work computations also act as the consensus mechanism that ensures a high level of data
integrity to the transactions on blockchain and reduces chances of falsified entries. People who
use high computational power to solve proof of work computations and add the blocks to the

blockchain transactions, transactions are initially encrypted and added to an online ledger. It is

knowledge regarding this topic. And I hope I will understand more as the discussion continues.
APRNs have greater responsibilities compare to RNs as their scope of practice expand. APRNs
can diagnose and provide treatment for patients. This increase their liability, thus having
malpractice insurance is inevitable. In my opinion private personal malpractice insurance is
beneficial for APRNs regardless whether the employer offers it or not. The malpractice insurance
provided by the employer may look more after the employer s best interests. Malpractice insurances

The high ruling of the case decided that she was guilty until further pressed when the Ninth

case. It is my opinion that if a physician prescribes a prescription that is helping cure the problem,
then it should be the patients right to take these actions to survive. In today s society the
legalization of medicinal use of marijuana is becoming more common amongst the states. There
are 24 states that recognize and accept patient registry or ID cards for medicinal use. Out of
these 24 states, California is the only state to not have a specification on the condition you have

recognize as a condition worthy of prescribing the use of medicinal cards. Of the 24 states only
Colorado and Washington allow citizens to use the drug recreationally. One of the main supporting
arguments held for legalizing marijuana was that by taxing the drug it would bring in budgets for
things such as money needed for schools, also much needed money in the health care field. It also
would give the opportunity to free up police resources. One valid point was that

During the Classical period, it was common for music to be louder, faster and not written for the
church like it had been written in the Baroque or Renaissance period. Instead of the music being
performed in churches, it was performed in concert halls or in the palace. Some of the most
recognizable artists during that time were Mozart, Beethoven, and Hayden. A lesser known artist,

We can relate some of Beethoven s symphonies that we learned about in class like symphony
number five to Muzio s symphonies because they both consisted of four movements and were
both written in an allegro form. The instruments that were used in the two symphonies are
similar; they both use string instruments like violins and cellos and percussion instruments.
Usually, symphonies consist of string, brass, percussion, and woodwind instruments, but do not
have to use every instrument that is in those categorizes they just use a few or none at all for
each. They also do not just use one violin or one flute there is usually a couple of each
instrument so that there can be variety of sounds. For instance, if the piece calls for a certain
instrument to be played multiple ways then they would use more than one of those instruments,
so that all the pressure would not be placed on one performer. For the Great National, Clementi
used a variety of instruments that would be typically used such as violins, the piano, and
trombones. We also learned about absolute music which is music that does not have a written
story to it like most modern songs do today that have lyrics to it, but in absolute music its more
about the instruments and the music itself. Clementi s symphony is considered to be absolute
music because there are no words and does not make up a story, the music itself coveys a power
story. It was their intent that the music would be able to be strong by itself to create a sort of
story that did not need words to convey a powerful message. That is similar to anyone s

First and foremost, the nursing profession offers an opportunity to see the life s beginning. For
example, as a delivery and labour nurse, I would possess the pleasure of experiencing that as a
daily routine. The other motivating factor is abundant choices that suit my lifestyle. As such,
nursing would enable me to work at different times of the day, for example, during the nights,
evenings, weekends, and during the day. Moreover, nursing career allows traveling to and working
in various places as the nursing expertise is transferable. The other motivating factor is
appreciation and remembrance of the services offered. In this regard, patients normally remember
certain quality services they were offered by a nurse at one time in their history while the nurse

The Devil Tree Short Story
THE HOUSE There was once a tree the local farmers and city folk referred too as the Devil Tree.
According to local legend, those who came in contact with the tree, especially anyone who did
harm to the Devil Tree, had dire consequences. Cursed! exclaimed the men and women of the
city. They may have been right, as it seems generations of people already lay dead due to the
Devil Tree. As time went on the old tree was finally cut down. The tree was cut into building
wood and later built into a house, and like the tree, the house was alive. It had memory and most
importantly it had hunger. Over many more generations the house passed from owner to owner
until one year, an unordinary couple bought the house. The Hatman s lived in the house for five
years during the 80s without moving out. People in the city became curious, specifically one
person: Dr. Toboggan. He had lived next door to the house for fifteen years and heard all the
horrible things that had happened inside the house. Now even though he still hears the noises he
sees the Hatman s get their mail every day. One day he saw the Hatman s bring something into their
house and it moved and jerked back and forth. He then waited a few minutes then grabbed a camera
and entered the house through the back window. As he jumped through the window he heard a loud
screech coming from the basement. As Dr. Toboggan crept through the house he saw unimaginable

Where the Red Fern Grows Essay
Where the Red Fern Grows
I cannot remember the first time I read Where the Red Fern Grows, by Wilson Rawls. I read it at
about age ten, and I have lost count of how many times I read it since. It was a period in my life
when childhood was nearly over, but adolescence had not yet set in, and it was a time when
animals were my greatest love.
Where the Red Fern Grows is a novel about a young boy and his two dogs, but to an animal lover,
it is much more. The story is told in the first person narrative, by an adult reminiscing about his
childhood; the reader experiences life through the eyes of an eleven year old boy living in the Ozark
Mountains of Arkansas. Over the boy s shoulder, an older narrator frequently ... Show more content

As a child I read Where the Red Fern Grows for its adventures and the profound love Billy has for
his two dogs. Billy and his dogs go hunting every night and play in the river during the day. Since
I felt I was somewhat of a tomboy, and had two dogs of my own, this greatly appealed to me. The
suspense I felt whenever the dogs treed a coon, or the time Grandpa was lost in the blizzard and
the dogs found him, never ceased each time I read the book. As I re read it now, however, I can
see that there are many more factors that appealed to me, but I did not realize it at the time.
This is a book about love not only human love for an animal, but the love of a parent for a child,
a man for his home, and a special love between two animals. Billy s family is extremely close
knit. His mother teaches Billy and his two sisters to read and write because the school is too far
away, and when he turns eleven. Billy s father lets him help out in the fields. To complete the
happy nest. Grandpa lives right down the road, and has the family over every Sunday afternoon
for supper. There is security in this atmosphere of love. After leaving home for three days to pick
up the puppies, Billy s mother breaks down and cries at his return this is punishment enough for
Billy, and he

Unrealistic Expectations
In the article Does Television Viewing Cultivate Unrealistic Expectations About Marriage? By Chris
Segrin and Robin Nabi, the authors connect the high divorce rate to the unrealistic expectation of
marriage. According to Segrin and Nabi (2002), the romanticized expectation is the dominant
reason for divorce (p. 247). The cultivation theory states that the origin of this idealistic belief may
come from the mass media, which exposes unrealistic visions to audiences. However, the study
finds out that the specific genre televisionprogram gives people unrealistic expectation of marriage,
instead of the overall television viewing. This finding could be extended to how specific genres of
movies, music videos and online videos influence audiences expectations of marriage. Afterwards,
this study could be applied in the television producing industry. Consequently, the researchers came
up two research questions to figure out the connections of television viewing, idealistic expectation
and intentions of marriage. The research questions are RQ1: Is greater television viewing
associated with more idealistic expectations about marriage? RQ2: Is there an association between
holding idealistic expectations about marriage and more immediate and idealistic marital intentions.

The authors broke up the measures into eight sub categories to examine the marital expectations,
including generalized marital expectations, fantasy rumination and idealistic expectations about
marriage etc. For the first research question, the data shows that television viewing has a central
connection with the unrealistic expectation of marriage. When people feel there are more realistic
presentation/examples in the television, there are less unrealistic beliefs about marriage. For the
second research question, it was found that an idealistic marital intention is highly related to watch
specific genres

Psych The Movie Essay
I watched the movie Psych (1960) directed by Alfed Hitchcock. The stars were Anthony Perkins
(Norman Bates), Vera Miles( Lila Crane), John Gavin (Sam Loomis), Martin Balsam (Detective
Milton Arbogast), John McIntire (Sheriff Al Chambers), and Janet Leigh (Marion Crane). The
movie is about a woman named Lila. Lila is working at a title company. A Man comes in and
pays for a new home in cash. He is bragging about how he is buying a home for his daughter and
he is paying $40,000 in cash for it. Lila steals the money and heads out on the road. She ends up
at the Bates Motel after hours of driving. She is tired and it is pouring down rain. There is not
anyone at the main office so she honks her horn and Norman arrives to help her. He gives her a
room and offers her something to eat. After they eat sandwiches together she goes to her room to
turn in for the night. She is in the shower and a woman comes in and stabs her. He then puts her in

Lila is wearing what would have been a sexy undergarment for that time. Sam is just wearing his
pants. They are kissing and rubbing on each other. He asked her to take the rest of the day off
she tells him that she has to get back to work. She says I hate have to be with you in a place like
this. They briefly talk what marriage and she reminds him that he needs to get dressed. I noticed
that for the most part both of them were fully clothed and did not show a lot of their bodies. The
movie had a lot of killing in it. The First death was Lila. When she was in the shower and she
tried her best to protect herself. You could tell that they could not show a lot of her body and
they did not show a lot of blood either. When the detective was killed he fell down the stairs. In this
case also they did not show a lot of his body and did not show much blood. I felt like it was less
scary because the visual horror was mostly kept from the

Essay On Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying is defined as the repeated use of technology to harass, humiliate, and threaten others.
Cyberbullying has become the new way to bully others because teenagers have access to their
social media, cell phones, and internet anywhere and at any time. Even though traditional bullying
has occurred for years, researchers and school officials are still searching for solutions to solve the
new form of bullyingknown as cyberbullying. Since cyberbullying is anonymous a solution to the
problem is harder to find and the bullies do not have to pay for their actions because they never get
caught. In many ways, cyberbullying is worse than traditional bullying because cyberbullying
infiltrates every part of a victims life and can cause... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast, twelve percent said that they have experienced or taken part in traditional bullying;
however, of those at least ninety five percent said it was meant to be a joke (Duverge).
Cyberbullying is affecting more people each day and is becoming even more vicious the longer
researchers are trying to find a solution. One third to one half of teenagers have been targeted or
been a victim of cyberbullying. Teenagers involved have experienced everything from a decline
in academic performance all the way to committing suicide (Holladay, pg. 5). Although
traditional bullying is slowing down because of the increase in cyberbullying, some teenagers
still resort to bullying each other face to face. Studies show that boys are more likely to bully in
person; however, girls are more likely to bully online. Girls use labels such as slut, whore, etc.
during their cyberbullying attacks while boys mostly make fun of each other s appearances and
accuse one another of being gay or too fashionable (Holladay, pg.6). A majority of cyberbullying
begins when one person s desire for confidence and/or power becomes too strong.
Not only can cyberbullying be done 24/7 and can be done anywhere but everything a teen does is
now done online. The content an individual shares online including personal, negative, mean or
hurtful content creates a permanent record of their views, activities, and behaviors ( What is
Cyberbullying ). Social media is

  • 3. Western Themes In The Film Mad Max 2 The 1970 s and 1980 s was considered to be a golden period in Australian cinema, with many classic Australian films, such as Crocodile Dundee, being released during this era. One such film that helped develop Australia s reputation in the film industry on an international level, was the Mad Max trilogy, specifically Mad Max 2, released in 1981. Despite being a post apocalyptic film, Mad Max 2 reflects themes of an old Western movie, with Max, a former sheriff, mirroring a Western hero, with his car in place of a horse, driving throughout a barren wasteland (Ratto, 2014, pp.78). After rescuing a man having been attacked by a group of outlaws, knows as The Marauders, Max returns the injured man to his settlement and goes on to help the entire settlement escape from The Marauders. This resemblance to an old Western film, gave Mad Max 2 the ability to break into the international film market, which was at the time (and still today) dominated by American films, especially old Westerns. The success of the first and second Mad Max films also resulted in a boom in production of Australian films, resulting in more making it on an international market. This ... • 6. Jamaic Out Of Many, One People Jamaica: Out of Many, One People History of the Culture One would think that an island would have a culture of its own with very little outside influence, however that is not the case with this island. Located in the Caribbean Sea, Jamaica is rich in culture from its European and African history. Jamaica was first populated by the Taino people, who were also called Arawaks, in AD 600. It was then found by Christopher Columbus in 1492, and shortly thereafter became a Spanish Territory. A decade later, the population was equally split between Spanish and slaves with a small percentage of free blacks and the native Taino people. In 1655, the English army captured Jamaica and fifteen years later, Jamaica formerly concedes to England. A decade later, the slaves, making up eighty four percent of the population, decided to rebel. However, full emancipation from slavery happened in 1838, almost a century later despite the gross population unbalance. Beginning in 1841, the island started having more outside influence when the first indentured workers arrived from Africa, India, China, Syria, Lebanon and the Mediterranean. In 1962, Jamaica gained full independence from Britain after almost two decades of self government formation. The history and vast cultural influences of Jamaica makes the country s motto of Out of many, One People ring true. In a modern society we demand everything to have more than one purpose, but for our homes we buy additions that are multi purpose, in order to make the home more suitable for the user. Why don t we have homes that work? What if you could have a home built in such a way that it regulates its own temperature, provides water, generates electricity, and more? In a world of dependency, mankind should take steps into taking care of themselves in order to put less burden on others. The Wonder behind The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Often, people who enjoy reading are found disappointed by the film versions of their favorite books. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum and The Wizard of OZ movie produced by Vincent Fleming serve as a good example of a distorted transition from text to film. While the novel was originally created to teach that anything is possible with hard work and is a straightforward children s book, the film tacks on many unintended morals, further changing the stories meaning. While which one preferred is only an opinion, adapted aspect s of the novel including the reality of Oz, Kansas, and Dorothy s characterization each alter what the story was meant to be, which was an innocent fairytale. In the film, Dorothy travels to Oz by being sucked into a cyclone and then landing in the middle of a magical realm. Once the novels reaches it s ending, Dorothy wakes up, having bumped her head, revealing that Oz was nothing but a dream all along. In the novel Oz is a real place that Dorothy travels to and from. This idea is much more exciting for the audience and especially children because it makes the story line more believable, allowing them to get lost in their imagination. Self-Images and Selfies Self Image and Selfies: A Freudian Analysis Chosen as Oxford dictionaries as the 2013 word of the year, the term selfie refers to a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website . The term has made a definite mark on popular culture, the frequency usage increased over 17,000% in the 2012 2013 year (BBC News). With the rise in popularity there has also been much discussion on the possible effects of the selfie phenomena. Some articles argue that taking a high number of selfies is a sign of the increasing narcissism and self objectification of modern culture that may lead to mental health issues such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. Others suggest that taking selfies empowers the individual and promotes healthy levels of self esteem. While viewpoints on the topic tend to be diametrically divided, a Freudian perspective provides support for both views, as the topic is more complex than it first seems. In order to understand the interest in selfies, their ramifications, and to better apply a Freudian perspective, it is important to first discuss the cultural prevalence and significance. A February 2000 Gallup Poll showed that death penalty support is at a 19 year low. The United States is the only Western democracy that still carries out executions. Since 1976, 41 other countries have abolished the death penalty. Every year, New Jersey pays $22.8 million for the death penalty process. Per person, life imprisonment costs about $850,000. (National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty). There is no conclusive evidence that the death penalty deters crime. The murder rate remained constant in Texas between 1984, when the state started speeding up its execution rate, and 1997. In 1998, there were 18, 209 murders. William Blake Thesis Throughout recent decades there has been a clear shift in moral rationale with many of the practices found within western society, particularly those involving children performing dangerous labor intensive activities. Although child labor may seem like a thing of the past to those living in the first world, it is well and alive around the globe. Child labor is prevalent in various developing nations throughout Asia, Africa, and South America; where both child labor and child slaveryrun rampant today. In his work The Chimney Sweeper, William Blake elucidates the experiences of young boys in England who were sold off by their parents to work as chimney sweepers. Modern society is troubled by remnants of the past that exist today, not only due the pervasive exploitation of child labor in developing nations, but also because of the fact that child labor is undeniably at an all time high. The Chimney Sweeper is a poem by William Blake that attempts to shed light on the bleak and dreadful experiences of children working as chimney sweepers. Blake integrates religion in his poems to describe the salvation children desire while working brutal and agonizing jobs. In his poem, Blake writes [that] thousands of sweepers... locked up in coffins of black ... by came an Angel who had a bright key, And he opened the coffins set them all free (Blake, 11 14). The idea that a child of that era was capable of thinking such grim dreams shows the tragic those children lived, and that these children were hopeless. The purpose of the poem is relevant to what is occurring today in developing countries throughout the globe. The Shawshank redemption is an American drama film written and directed by Frank Darabont in the year 1994, starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. The film s screenplay has been adapted from the Stephen King Novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank redemption and talks about the life of a man named Andy Dufresne, a banker who is sentenced to life imprisonment in the Shawshank State prison for murder of his wife and her lover, even despite his claims of innocence. While the main genre of the film is drama, it fits into the sub genres of a crime and drama thriller due to its complex narrative. The narrative is based on prison life and how Andy Dufrense who is the protagonist, copes with this life imprisonment. Shawshank redemption places its emphasis on the action taking place rather than the psychological meaning, which only adds to the reasoning of why thriller is the main sub genre. The movie stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman as two convicts serving time in a New England prison named Shawshank. The setting of the film is mainly of the Shawshank prison, which is an external location and is focused on the day to day activities of the prisoners. Usually, symphonies consist of string, brass, percussion, and woodwind instruments, but do not have to use every instrument that is in those categorizes they just use a few or none at all for each. They also do not just use one violin or one flute there is usually a couple of each instrument so that there can be variety of sounds. They may have been right, as it seems generations of people already lay dead due to the Devil Tree. As time went on the old tree was finally cut down. The tree was cut into building wood and later built into a house, and like the tree, the house was alive. It had memory and most importantly it had hunger. Over many more generations the house passed from owner to owner until one year, an unordinary couple bought the house. • 44. Where the Red Fern Grows Essay Where the Red Fern Grows I cannot remember the first time I read Where the Red Fern Grows, by Wilson Rawls. I read it at about age ten, and I have lost count of how many times I read it since. It was a period in my life when childhood was nearly over, but adolescence had not yet set in, and it was a time when animals were my greatest love. Where the Red Fern Grows is a novel about a young boy and his two dogs, but to an animal lover, it is much more. The story is told in the first person narrative, by an adult reminiscing about his childhood; the reader experiences life through the eyes of an eleven year old boy living in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. Over the boy s shoulder, an older narrator frequently ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a child I read Where the Red Fern Grows for its adventures and the profound love Billy has for his two dogs. Billy and his dogs go hunting every night and play in the river during the day. Since I felt I was somewhat of a tomboy, and had two dogs of my own, this greatly appealed to me. The suspense I felt whenever the dogs treed a coon, or the time Grandpa was lost in the blizzard and the dogs found him, never ceased each time I read the book. As I re read it now, however, I can see that there are many more factors that appealed to me, but I did not realize it at the time. This is a book about love not only human love for an animal, but the love of a parent for a child, a man for his home, and a special love between two animals. Billy s family is extremely close knit. His mother teaches Billy and his two sisters to read and write because the school is too far away, and when he turns eleven. Billy s father lets him help out in the fields. To complete the happy nest. Grandpa lives right down the road, and has the family over every Sunday afternoon for supper. There is security in this atmosphere of love. After leaving home for three days to pick up the puppies, Billy s mother breaks down and cries at his return this is punishment enough for Billy, and he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Unrealistic Expectations In the article Does Television Viewing Cultivate Unrealistic Expectations About Marriage? By Chris Segrin and Robin Nabi, the authors connect the high divorce rate to the unrealistic expectation of marriage. According to Segrin and Nabi (2002), the romanticized expectation is the dominant reason for divorce (p. 247). The cultivation theory states that the origin of this idealistic belief may come from the mass media, which exposes unrealistic visions to audiences. However, the study finds out that the specific genre televisionprogram gives people unrealistic expectation of marriage, instead of the overall television viewing. This finding could be extended to how specific genres of movies, music videos and online videos influence audiences expectations of marriage. Afterwards, this study could be applied in the television producing industry. Consequently, the researchers came up two research questions to figure out the connections of television viewing, idealistic expectation and intentions of marriage. The research questions are RQ1: Is greater television viewing associated with more idealistic expectations about marriage? RQ2: Is there an association between holding idealistic expectations about marriage and more immediate and idealistic marital intentions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The authors broke up the measures into eight sub categories to examine the marital expectations, including generalized marital expectations, fantasy rumination and idealistic expectations about marriage etc. For the first research question, the data shows that television viewing has a central connection with the unrealistic expectation of marriage. When people feel there are more realistic presentation/examples in the television, there are less unrealistic beliefs about marriage. For the second research question, it was found that an idealistic marital intention is highly related to watch specific genres ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Essay On Cyberbullying Cyberbullying is defined as the repeated use of technology to harass, humiliate, and threaten others. Cyberbullying has become the new way to bully others because teenagers have access to their social media, cell phones, and internet anywhere and at any time. Even though traditional bullying has occurred for years, researchers and school officials are still searching for solutions to solve the new form of bullyingknown as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is affecting more people each day and is becoming even more vicious the longer researchers are trying to find a solution. One third to one half of teenagers have been targeted or been a victim of cyberbullying. Teenagers involved have experienced everything from a decline in academic performance all the way to committing suicide (Holladay, pg. 5). Although traditional bullying is slowing down because of the increase in cyberbullying, some teenagers still resort to bullying each other face to face. Studies show that boys are more likely to bully in person; however, girls are more likely to bully online. Girls use labels such as slut, whore, etc. during their cyberbullying attacks while boys mostly make fun of each other s appearances and accuse one another of being gay or too fashionable (Holladay, pg.6). A majority of cyberbullying begins when one person s desire for confidence and/or power becomes too strong. Not only can cyberbullying be done 24/7 and can be done anywhere but everything a teen does is now done online. The content an individual shares online including personal, negative, mean or hurtful content creates a permanent record of their views, activities, and behaviors ( What is Cyberbullying ).
