International Terrorism Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of international terrorism is undeniably a challenging endeavor
that requires a careful balance of research, analysis, and critical thinking. The intricacies involved
in exploring the multifaceted nature of terrorism on a global scale demand a nuanced
understanding of geopolitical, socio-economic, and cultural factors.
To begin with, delving into the historical roots and evolution of international terrorism
necessitates a comprehensive examination of various conflicts, movements, and ideological
shifts. This historical context is crucial for unraveling the complex web of motives that drive acts
of terror across borders.
Furthermore, analyzing the contemporary landscape of global terrorism involves staying abreast
of current events and the ever-evolving tactics employed by terrorist organizations. The dynamic
nature of this subject matter requires a constant reassessment of sources and a keen awareness of
the geopolitical climate.
Addressing the root causes of terrorism adds another layer of complexity. Attempting to dissect
and understand the socio-economic, political, and cultural factors that contribute to the rise of
extremism demands a nuanced approach. It involves navigating through a myriad of perspectives
and theories while remaining mindful of the sensitive nature of the topic.
Moreover, formulating a coherent thesis statement and supporting arguments requires a careful
integration of diverse viewpoints, data, and scholarly opinions. Balancing the presentation of
facts with an insightful analysis of their implications poses an additional challenge, as does
maintaining a neutral tone while discussing such a emotionally charged topic.
In conclusion, writing an essay on international terrorism demands intellectual rigor, an
expansive knowledge base, and a willingness to engage with uncomfortable truths. It
necessitates the ability to sift through a vast array of information, critically evaluate sources, and
synthesize complex ideas into a cohesive narrative. While challenging, addressing this crucial
topic is essential for fostering a deeper understanding of the global issues we face today.

Lady With An Erine Analysis
Lady With an Ermine In his portrait Lady with an Ermine, Leonardo da Vinci s
innovative detail to composition, chiaroscuro, and symbolism allows the emergence
of a new style of portraiture.
In the book Leonardo da Vinci: The Marvellous Works of Nature and Man, Kemp
demonstrates his knowledge on Leonardo s portrait through stylistic analysis and
historical input. Shell and Sironi presents their article Cecilia Gallerani: Leonardo s
Lady with an Ermine, through studies in the identification of the painting. The authors
of the article study physical and historical features of the painting to create meaning.
Through the analysis of stylistic features and examination of history, the meaning of
the Lady with an Ermine can be uncovered as a portrait with poetic vitality and
aristocratic value.
The portrait Lady with an Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci [Fig. 1], displays a young
lady known as Cecilia Gallerani with an ermine on her lap. Cecilia s head tilts to
the side and the line of her eyes follows as she gazes away from the beholder. The
positioning of her head and eyes create a mysterious atmosphere around her. She
seems dignified through the divergence of her eyes from the beholder.
Furthermore, her body is slanted towards the beholder while her head slants in the
opposite direction. The composition of her body seems to be engaging with the
beholder but her her gaze indicates no interest. The distance between the beholder
and her indicates that one can only admire her from afar. The ermine sits gracefully
in Cecilia s arms and its eyes also diverts away. The ermine tilts its head to his right,
opposite of Cecilia. The different angles of their heads reflects the dynamics and
movement of the portrait. Therefore, the portrait does not feel stiff but rather lively.
Another feature of this portrait is the use of Chiaroscuro and its ability to make the
portrait look realistic. The light source coming from the left side illuminates Cecilia
s skin against the dark background. The light brightens the entire left side of Cecilia
and the ermine, meanwhile creating shadows on the right side of her body. The
shadows, however, are soft like reflected light. The reflected light has intensity on the
bright parts of her body

Italian Immigration In The Late 1800s
Italian immigration became very prevalent during the time of 1880 to 1899 as
900,000 immigrants fled to America because Italy suffered from overpopulation,
poverty and natural disasters. In the 1870s, Italian birthrates rose and death rates fell
(Digital History). In the poor southern provinces of Italy, over population became
severe. By the late 1890s, the illiteracy rate in southern Italy raised to 70 percent,
which was ten times the rate in England, France, or Germany. The Italian government
was dominated by northerners, and southerners were hurt by high taxes and high
protective tariffs on northern industrial goods. Southerners also suffered from a
scarcity of cultivable land, soil erosion and deforestation, and a lack of coal and iron

Many Italian immigrants were known as birds of passage because they came to the
United States seeking temporary work without any intention of living permanently.
Because the economy was suffering in Italy, the Italians were unable to earn a
livelihood in their home countries (Digital History). Most of the laborers who
came to the United States were young men in their teens and twenties, who left
behind their parents, wives, and children to work and save money. Before 1900,
an estimated 78 percent of Italian immigrants were men. Many of them traveled to
America in the early spring, worked until late fall, and then returned to the warmer
climates of their southern European homes winter (Digital History). Because the
Italians were looking for high wages and not long term residency, they migrated to
the cities where wages were relatively high despite the poor living conditions. The
Italians lived as inexpensively as possible under conditions that native born
families considered intolerable (Digital History). The immigrants took heavy
construction jobs such as digging tunnels, laying railroad tracks, constructing
bridges and roads, and erecting skyscrapers. As early as 1890, 90 percent of New
York City s public works employees and 99 percent of Chicago s street workers
were Italian (Digital History). The Italians played a major role in the development of
big United States cities as they were the labor force of the construction jobs. While
the Italians migrated to these large cities together, they formed ethnic enclaves and
left Italian culture in these

She s Come Undone by Wally Lamb
Summary
Entering the world of Dolores Price, who is the focal center in She s Come
Undone by Wally Lamb, is no peaceful journey. We go through the events that
shaped her into an emotional disturbed lady. After suffering multiple travesties one
after the other she demonstrates signs of personality disorder. We are engaged in a
story of strength, and manic all at the same time. Dolores Price narrates the series
of events that have occurred in her life as a child all the way up to adulthood, from
her young years. Dolores s father worked as a painter for a woman who gave him
gifts as a thank you for his work, including a television that consumed most of
Dolores time. When Dolores was in middle school, her mother Bernice lost a child
during pregnancy. This resulted in the family moving to Connecticut and the
beginning of a new chapter in Dolores life filled with anger, stress, fear, and a lot of
pain.
After moving, Dolores father walked out on the family. This places Dolores into the

Most patients of borderline personality disorder suffer from problems regulating
emotions and thoughts, impulsive and reckless behavior, and unstable relationships
with other people. People with this disorder have high rates of depression, anxiety,
substance abuse, and eating disorders. Oftentimes, it leads to self harm, and suicidal
behaviors.
Although most BPD cases go underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed, if you were to

Discrimination of Irish Catholic Immigrants During the...
Discrimination of Irish Catholic Immigrants During the 1920 s
During the 1920 s there were many controversial issues. There was a concern about
declining moral and ethical values, which led to restrictions such as prohibition for
example. The concern about these issues seemed most intense when they pertained to
religion. In situations like these it always seems necessary to place the blame
somewhere. One particular group on which this blame was emphasized happened to
be the immigrants. Irish Catholic immigrants were a main focus of discrimination in
many ways.
The fight for immigration restriction was fueled by America s negative view of
foreigners. Protestants especially made it a point to link alcohol ... Show more content

The fear that surrounded this time period was a perfect way to spread the
propaganda of the Klan. It was believed that this group of immigrants held their
primary allegiance to a foreign sovereign over loyalty to the United States. This anti
Catholicism was a driving force behind the popularity of the KKK. To show the
mentality of the time, there was no tax on Klan fees because they were considered to
be a benevolent society by the government. The fact that the KKK adamantly
discriminated against the Irish Catholics may seem surprising because the majority of
today s population would assume that the Klan s members encompassed any person
who appeared to be Caucasian.
This group of immigrants was also discriminated in the workplace. Employers made
the wages for this group lower than wages of other employees. The intention for this
ill treatment was that the immigrants would warn their Irish relatives of the bad
conditions here in the U.S. discouraging them from immigrating as well as to
encourage the Irish Catholic immigrant employees who resided in the U.S. to leave.
This direct discrimination against the Irish Catholic immigrants was hypocritical in
the democratic and liberal society of America. It is wrong to allow one group to
infringe upon another one s rights just because of religious
Fossil Fuels Disadvantages
Fossil fuels have been the world s main energy source since they were discovered,
however, they carry harmful side effects such as pollution and climate change. Forms
of alternative energy such as solar, wind, and nuclear power are possible
replacements of fossil fuel energy. Controversy surrounds both fossil fuels and
alternative forms of energy due to each energy form having consequences. Some
believe that alternative energybrings just as many disadvantages as fossil fuels,
while others argue that alternative energy is better for the environment and its
population. While people have different beliefs pertaining to alternative energy,
both forms of energy have been used throughout history. Fossil fuels are created
from the remains of decayed animals and plants and then burned to make energy.
Coal, oil, and natural gas are examples of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels grew in
popularity during the Industrial Revolution when the first coal deposits were found
(Mason). This discovery prompted a new age of energy and eventually led to the use
of oil, another fossil fuel. Fossil fuels continued to grow and eventually became the
world s main energy source, but burning fossil fuels gives off carbon dioxide, a
greenhouse gas that causes climate change. The climate change created by fossil
fuels produced the controversy that surrounds this form of energy. Another
popular energy source is alternative energy. Alternative energy is any form of
energy besides fossil fuels, such as solar, wind, and nuclear power. Similar to
fossil fuels, ideas of alternative energy began during the Industrial Revolution,
however, these designs were not created until the 1950s (Mason). During the
1950s, the renewable forms of alternative energy were the most popular, due to the
realization that fossil fuel sources would eventually be depleted. Today, research
about alternative energy is still being done as this energy source is also
controversial. Alternative energy is said to be less reliable and even more
dangerous than fossil fuels. Although both alternative energy forms and fossil fuels
are controversial, they remain relevant in today s world because energy is necessary
in people s daily lives. In support of alternative energy is the
What Is The Main Conflict In Jean Valjean
Jean Valjean
Jean Valjean, the main character of the story Les Miserables, has a great journey
of Rags to Riches during a tough time of the French Revolution. Jean Valjean goes
from a prisoner who stole bread to provide for his family to a religious man who
saved many lives. During the story Jean Valjean gets into many conflicts, the main
conflict is when he meets his old prisoner guard, Javert. Jean Valjeanhas many
influential relationships with many people who will shape his life, for example the
priest, Fantine, Javert, Cosette and Marius. The time period of the story is during the
French Revolution so Jean Valjean s story sounds impossible since the employment

Internally Displaced Person
Preamble:
For decades, they were largely ignored and forgotten, but together they probably
comprise the world‟s largest group of vulnerable people. Currently, there are an
estimated 30 million of them in at least 50 countries living amidst war and
persecution. They have little legal or physical protection and a very uncertain future
outcasts in their own countries. Bureaucratically, they are described as IDPs or
„internally displaced persons.‟ In the real world, they are civilians, mostly
women and children, who have been forced to abandon their homes because of
conflict or persecution to seek safety elsewhere. The idea and the phenomenon of
internal displacement are not recent. According to United Nations Office for the

Refugee vs. IDPs
Both groups often leave their homes for similar reasons. Civilians are recognized as
„refugees‟ when they cross an international frontier to seek sanctuary in
another country. The internally displaced, for whatever reason, remain in their own
states. Newly arrived refugees normally receive food, shelter and a place of safety
from the host country. A well defined body of international laws and conventions
protects them. The UN refugee agency and other humanitarian organizations work

Susan Sontag s View on Interpretation and its Applications and Analysis Using
Bedlam Painting Number Eight
Interpretation has been a phenomenon existing from the time immemorial. There has
been a long tradition of interpretation, in all occupations. Interpretation of arts and
literature has gone to an extent that it has taken shape of a discipline and has grown
as a methodology and an art itself. Eliot even says, We might remind ourselves that
criticism is as inevitable as breathing . Method of Interpretation has long been a
subject of discussion among intellectual circles and it has been subject to a constant
evolution ever since it came into being. Moreover, the conventional methods have
always been circling around the dynamics of relationship of the signifier and the
signified, a discourse upon meaning of a work of art. Sontag has proposed an
objection towards the traditional methods of such kind. ... Show more content on

She says in the essay, I don t mean interpretation in the broadest sense, the sense in
which Nietzsche (rightly) says, There are no facts, only interpretations. By
interpretation, I mean here a conscious act of the mind which illustrates a certain
code, certain rules of interpretation. Sontag is opposed to the criticism of a kind
where a critic is given all authority to assign meaning to a work of art according to
his/her own whims and
Leadership Reflection For Senior Leadership
According to the Introduction to Strategic Studies Course Directive, This year
presents an opportunity to walk in the shoes of senior leaders making difficult and
complex decisions before you begin wearing them upon graduation. From the above
sentence I can conclude that, this paper could be the beginning of my journey to
wear the higher level leaders shoes. As I am now starting preparation for a future
senior leadershipassignment, I have to equip myself with the required knowledge and
skills in order to act as senior military leader.
Therefore, Thomas Galvin outlines four mission specific roles and senior military
leaders should also take lessons from history, like from The Gulf War, 1990 1991, .
The four roles are, a strategic advisor and communicator, a strategic planner, a
strategic theorist, and senior leader at the strategic level. So that this paper will focus
mainly on my reflection towards to the first two mission specific roles.
Therefore, my choice from the roles are the strategic advisor and communicator,
and the strategic planner because working to exercise these roles would have more
benefit to jump for the rest two roles. From the case study, I have selected General
Collin Powel and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf roles from the case study. In
order to link and reflect my future area that should be strengthen. Their roles and
experiences are good examples that are helpful as I prepare myself and work

Workplace Wellness Programs
Some employers suggest wellness programs to help educate staff on healthy living
and lifestyles. These programs usually incorporate health topics such as managing
blood pressure, weight control and management, stress management, healthy eating,
cholesterol management, cancer prevention, and exercise programs. Instructing
the basics is an excellent way to start the workforce on a healthy lifestyle (Lotich,
2011). A prime example is Diabetes Mellitus. Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that
occurs when the body is not able to use blood glucose (sugar). Blood sugar levels
are controlled by insulin, a hormone in the body that helps move glucose (sugar)
from the blood to muscles and other tissues. Diabetes occurs when the pancreas does
not make enough insulin or the body does not respond to the insulin that is made
(Staff, 2008). Although there are many reported causes including some genetic
susceptibility, obesity and diet play an essential role in developing diabetes, as well

dealing with troubled teenagers, and the likes are great classes organization should

An Argument Of Humanity, Justice, Horror, Duty, Mercy,
Hope
All Great things are simple and many can be expressed in simple words: freedom,
justice, horror, duty, mercy, hope. Winston Churchill. The film is persuasive in the
argument of humanity, in its relation to morality. The question of morality is the
question of virtue or in this case the fight between good and evil, also know as yin
and yang.
The usage of colours black, white, brown, blue, green, yellow, and red, stand alone
are to effective describe good or evil, yin or yang. The colours are also mixed to
show the coexisting harmony of the colours together can bring about a heightened
form of destruction or form of good. For much of the film the colour red is used to
symbolize anger, fury, destruction, and death. The first usage of the colour is with
the branding iron, with the mark of Immortan Joe. The significance of the
branding iron is linked with the feeling of a cage/imprisonment, a mark of
enslavement/ownership. This stance is more emphasised by the wives as they yell
at nux that they are no more than breeders and battle fodder for an old man. Red is
also symbolized as light and warmth in regards to one of the wives, Capable. The
colour blue is used to symbolize peace, healing, knowledge, life, quite, grievance,
and night. The first time the colour is used is in the form of night after the death of
Angharad, the world is drenched in blue except for the four wives, that are shown in
colour with benefit of light. The colour is also shown translucently in water. The
Twins
What would it be like to have a twin? This is a question people often ponder. People
often say that they see someone that resembles someone they already know. It is
almost like dejavu. Twin comes from the German word twine meaning two together
(Nagy 1). Most people automatically think of two people who look just alike when
they hear the word twin. However, there is a lot more to twins than just looking alike.
Twins are the most common type of multiple births. Many think there are only two
types of twins, identical and fraternal; they often leave out conjoined twins. Twins are
very unique and fascinating individuals because of their similarities biologically,
physically, and psychologically.

The overall survival rate for these twins is somewhere between five and twenty five
percent (Sanders 2). This means that the majority of conjoined twins die within
twenty four hours of birth. For the few who survive the traumatic beginning, surgical
separation is often possible for conjoined twins. The average survival rate after
surgery is around forty six percent (Sanders 2). This percent depends greatly on the
location of the attachment and the organs that are shared.
There is some controversy over the separation of conjoined twins. In some cases
separation has turned into a moral issue. A prime example of how dependent one
twin is on the other is in the case of the British conjoined twins, Jodie and Mary.
Jodie was stronger and more capable than her sister. Mary was weak and was only
alive because she was attached to Jodie. However, Mary s weakness would
eventually make Jodie weak as well. The parents were burdened with a moral
dilemma, which would result with the loss of at least one child (Sanders 4). If
Mary and Jodie were separated, one would likely die. Some separations are more
difficult to complete than others. Parents of conjoined twins have to think about all
of the factors before they proceed with a separation.
There are also factors to think about after separation. If both twins survive the
separation, they may still need an enormous amount of medical treatment throughout
their life. In addition to medical treatment, they will probably

16th Century Islamic Empires
During 16th through 18th century, Southern and Western Asia was the home of three
prominent Muslim Empires: the Ottoman Empire, the Mughal Empire, and the
Safavid Empire. The Ottoman Empire founded in the late 13th century was located in
the northwestern corner of the Anatolian Peninsula, and gradually expanded
westward. The Mughal Empire was also founded in the 16th century, and was viewed
as the highest point of traditional culture in India. The Safavid Empire was founded at
the beginning of the 16th century, and was located in Persia. Religious diversity in
these three Islamic empires changed drastically throughout the rulers of those
empires. Although many rulers tolerated religious diversity, some refused religious
diversity all together.
The Plug-In Drug by Marie Winn Essay
In an article The Plug In Drug the author Marie Winn discusses the bad influence of
television on today s society. Television is a drug that interfere with family ritual,
destroys human relationships and undermines the family.
Marie Winn claims that television over the years have effected many American family
life. Since television is everyday ritual, many American tend to spent more time with
television than they do with their family and this result in unhealthy relation in
family. She also acknowledge that television destroy family unique quality that they

Time spent with their children talking and sharing is replaced by time spent in front
of the television.
But, for most part, author feel television is drug ; that is corrupting today s society.
Many of us fail to recognize how it has caused the decline of family rituals, the
avoidance of relationships and the destruction of the family. Our addiction to this
daily habit cause us to escape the real world.
Although Marie Win had her point, I tend to disagree that television is a bad
influence on our lives. Television does not destroy family value; it is us who
destroy family value. For example parents who have little or no time for their
children often substitute television as a baby sitter and parents blame television as
child bad conduct. But it is parents who should to be blame for the child s bad
behavior because not providing proper care and guide for the child. Parents should set
limitation and boundaries for themselves to cope with the television addiction.
Family matter should be their number one priority in family.
Like all drugs television can be helpful in our life. Only if we learn to utilize
television in a properly regimented manner will it enhances our life. It is wise to
learn and balance or time spent at home. It is wise to learn and balance our time

Academic Excellence Essay
I exemplify excellence academically by keeping up with my schoolwork and
always working my hardest on all the work I have. When I get assigned school
work I always make sure to put it in my planner, both on the day it was assigned
and on the day its due. In my personal life I display excellence by being kind to
those around me and helping others whenever I can. I love volunteering even
though I don t have as much time as I would like to do it, and to me volunteering is
a great way to help others and displaying excellence even when no one is watching.
In my opinion academic and personal excellence is displayed when someone does
something without expecting to receive praise. So if someone were to volunteer it
would be because they like doing it and not because they need to get into a good
college, even though volunteering is a great thing to have on a college application.
The characteristics I described above to demonstrate my academic and personal
excellence make me a good candidate for induction into National Honor Society
because I keep track of when I need to do something or be somewhere and I am
always willing to participate in volunteering opportunities.

The Lanyard, Forgetfulness, Hangover And Schoolsville
Billy Collins is an American poet writer that is renowned for finding humor in
many situations. Whether it be a poem about a hangover or the forgetfulness of an
older man, he can always find a way to introduce humor to his readers. It is almost
like he plans out every word of his poems to strike the reader just the way he wants
to with his expert craft. The poems that I have found and analyzed and found the
most humourin are The Lanyard, Forgetfulness, Hangover and Schoolsville.
The first poem I analyzed was The Lanyard. The speaker of The lanyard is a boy
who tries to offer his lanyard that he made at camp to make up for all the loving
care that his mother has gave him in his life. The boy addresses his mother as a
very loving mother that has always taken care of him and done what is best for
him. He talks up all the great things that his mother has given him and all he can
give her is a lanyard. She gave me life and milk from her breasts, and I gave her a
lanyard. Here is a breathing body and a beating heart, strong legs, bones and teeth,
and two clear eyes to see the world to read the world with, she whispered, and here,
I said, is the lanyard I made at camp. These lines from the poem are metaphors of
not being able to give your mother what she deserves at a young age for all that
she has done for you. No matter what you get her it will never scale to the amount
to what she has done for you. The humour in this poem is sarcastic in a way because

It was April 12, 1963, just a normal spring day. But this day would change our history
in the United States forever. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. along with one hundred
protesters were arrested in the streets of Birmingham Alabama. Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr., along with his staff, friends, family and many protestors were arrested for
demonstrating a peaceful non violent protest. This was not any protest; this protest
was to stop the segregation and discrimination in BirminghamAlabama. Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr. recognized the injustice that was occurring in Birmingham
Alabama and while incarcerated in Birmingham he wrote a letter to the clergymen
that describes his position of why he was in protest in Alabama. Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr. wrote I was invited here. I am here because I have organizational ties here.
Bur more basically, I am here in Birmingham because injustice is here. Just as the

Microsoft Analysis Essay
Microsoft Analysis
Introduction and Summary of Company History and Background Information
Microsoft over the past 27 years has positioned itself as the arterial system of almost
all computers rolled into use across the world. Albeit with no competition worth the
name to challenge its existence leave alone on technology advancements, the
company has still managed to keep pace with both felt and perceived needs of its
customers and its niche remains robust thus far. Nevertheless disturbing winds have
begun to blow. Its corporate governance is under the microscope and the world is
watching as to how Microsoft is bracing itself for the challenges posed both by
competition (however innocuous it may be at present) and technology proliferation. ...

Competition, technology compatibility and integration needs, pricing, delivery and
service parameters can precipitate substantial threat to Microsoft and afford
opportunities for other players. It is not that Microsoft is not aware of this. It is
focusing on R amp;D and business strategies to sustain market shares in its own way.
But is it enough and is it taking the right direction is the big question.
Others have started to seriously innovate and compete. For example changing
technologies like Wireless Communications and Networking (WAN) etc do not
complement MicrosoftВЎВ¦s existing competencies. Over the next five years, in all
developed countries, the majority of people will be connecting through broadband
and interacting with information through many devices: PCs at work and at home,
portable PCs, Tablet PCs, and pocket devices such as the phone, evolving from
simply a voice device to a data device. Having all these devices work very well
together and be secure and up to date are very significant challenges indeed.
Therefore there is adequate scope and opportunity to review, audit and understand
through SWOT analysis the company and its competencies and facilitate a new
debate on possible corporate business models and revised action plans.
SWOT analysis is a tool for auditing an organization and its environment. It is the
first stage of planning and helps marketers to focus on key issues. It has to be a
continuous rather than a need based exercise.
Carbon Dioxide And Its Effects On The Environment
Carbon dioxide represents 84% of greenhouse gases. It is not only affecting the
atmosphere but also the oceans in that it has made them 30% more acidic in turn
affecting sea organisms. As you can see these fossil fuels create a chain effect
damaging more than we are aware of. One of the biggest problems with switching to
renewable energyisn t that we couldn t make it work or the startup cost is too much,
it s because, as most people agree, the oil businesses doesn t want to lose out on the
money. The oil industries made 1021.1 billion dollars in the past ten years. A lot of
the world depends on oil production, but it is causing severe damage to our
environment. There is a massive amount of land and forests being destroyed in
order to get this oil, and the effects of the leaks and spills on the earth and to living
things extremely damaging. Just in 2010 there were two reported massive oil spill
starting on January 23rd, spilling 462,000 gallons and again on April 20th with
20,000 gallons a day spilling for 87 days ending with over 200 million gallons
being spilt of off the gulf of Mexico; this is the worst oil spill in American history.
The impact of the spill on the environment was devastation killing many sea
organisms and birds. And the effects did not go away after the oil did. Many
organisms became sick and about 17% of the dolphins affected did not survive. Sea
turtles became stranded including 500 endangered sea turtles. The oil spill happened
during many organisms
Conception Of Common Good
between themselves and their peers is not only problematic in that it silences the
less privileged, but in that it deprives the forum the opportunity of self correction
and multidimensionality. When one recognizes the necessity of recognizing the
differences between groups (and their conception of the good), the absence of a
concrete conception of the common good becomes, effectively, an advantage, as it
allows the deliberative forum to be more accepting of a wider range of ideas
(without pre emptively rejecting them as unreasonable because they do not appeal to
the traditional conception of the common good), which will provide the less
privileged a better chance at being heard and responded to. Conclusion The idea of
the common good (understood
Raskolnikov Hero Essay
At first glance, Raskolnikov seems the opposite of a hero. He murders a defenseless
old woman, then insists he has done nothing wrong. Still, his conscience torments
him: He worries about his actions, his family, and the nation in which he lives.
Because he thinks deeply about moral problems, Raskolnikov is ultimately able to
commit brave acts, turning himself into the police and atoning for his sinful past.
Though Raskolnikov spends most of the novelin a decidedly non heroic state, his
keen, searching conscience allows him to attain grace in the closing epilogue and he
ends the novel a hero.
To be sure, Raskolnikov engages in numerous unheroic thoughts and deeds. Toward
the beginning of the novel, he attacks and kills the moneylender Alyona Ivanovna.
He tells himself he has behaved admirably; by his perverse logic, moneylenders are
so cruel that they do not deserve to live. Crime? he says. What crime? He likens
Alyona Ivanova to a louse that has sucked the life sap from the poor, and claims that
killing her was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The guilt he feels after killing Alyona Ivanovna is the most brutal punishment in the
novel. Even the police investigator, Porfiry Petrovich, admires Raskolnikov for his
finely tuned sensibilities. His conscience causes him to worry not just about his own
sins, but also about the sins of nineteenth century Russia. He refuses to marry,
seeing the institution as deeply flawed and imbalanced, and he forbids his sister to
marry Luzhin because such a marriage would reduce her to a servant. The status of
Russian women enrages him and his heart aches for Sonya, who prostitutes herself to
feed her family. Tormented, he dreams of a poor, weak horse that gets crushed in the
street. To Raskolnikov, the horse represents Russia s starving masses, sacrificed in the
name of progress. These moments of bitterness and idealism show that Raskolnikov
has an extraordinary
The Most Famous Italian Sausage

brought by Roman troops or slaves from Lucania and it was documented as a
spicy, smoked beef or pork sausage. The consumption of fresh meat decreased by
1550 due to the Black Death for the past 2 centuries and more land was used for

poor people and occupied their diet everyday. What is more salt meat often in the

Essay on Valley Winery Case Study
Case One:
Valley Winery
Valley Winery, a favorable wine company, hired Pat Waller as their sales manager
of the San Francisco region s chain division. Although the company has had
increasing sales for the past several years, Valley Winery has its fair share of
problems that have Waller worried. He is very aware of the competitiveness within
the wine industry and is concerned that Valley Winery will not be able to continue
consistently increasing their sales.
Turnover rate is the number one issue at Valley Winery. Every problem the company
has bleeds into the turnover rate. The company s turnover rate is currently at almost
100 percent a year; this is a huge issue that Waller must address. The existing sales

With so much responsibility given to one person, effectiveness becomes a concern.
The person in charge of hiring judges candidates based on youth and physical
characteristics, rather than legitimate credentials. There is no consistency or checks
and balances within the hiring process. Essentially, a single person is making all of
the hiring decisions without any guidelines from upper management. Hiring sales
reps based on qualifications would correlate with a reduction in the turnover rate.
The fourth and final issue is the quotas set for the sales reps. Unattainable quotas
are the issue behind the turnover rate and the aggressive sales attitudes. Right now,
each sales rep is required to meet monthly display quotas for different lines of
products. It is nearly impossible for the reps to meet their quotas, which leads to
exaggerating numbers and tampering with competitors products. Sales reps are
discouraged by unrealistic quotas and overwhelming workloads; a combination that
leads to low employee morale and high turnover. In order to solve his laundry list of
issues, Pat Waller must do some serious restructuring, beginning with the hiring
process. Waller needs to begin recruit top performers from competing firms. Because
the wine industry is incredibly competitive, this will help the Valley Winery stay on
top. Also, the interview process needs to be more thorough and realistic.
Banning Books
The Reasons to Ban Books
Schools are meant to be a safe environment full of books and learning opportunities.
If this is impaired by books that should be banned, students may feel displaced or
uncomfortable. Even a high schooler is prone to this, if action is not taken. There
are hundreds of books full of violence, explicit language, and drug references.
Annenberg Classroom says it is unsuitable for students (AnnenbergClassroom.org).
Students of all ages are strongly suggested to not partake of those things, and reading
all about them can cause them to think it is acceptable. It is up to administrators and
parents to decide what should be allowed in school libraries. Everybody has different
beliefs, but most people would not want their ... Show more content on

Many school districts do not have manga or anime banned (Debate.org). This style of
literature is often considered non educational. Books should at least have censorship
when profanity or have sexually explicit content are used. Reading this content as a
student is 100% unnecessary. In a study done in 2000 09 by the American Library
Association, about 1,250 books were challenged because of offensive language.
Around 1,600 books were challenged in that same study for being sexually explicit
(Butler.edu). During this, almost all books that were banned were either in school
libraries or schools. A common example of a banned bookis Harry Potter by J.Kk.
Rowling. This book has a presence of witchcraft (Butler.edu). In many people s
minds, witchcraft is extremely bad, and completely unnecessary to discuss those
topics. Since many people are against witchcraft, if that was to be discussed in
schools, awful consequences for teacher as well as student could result.
It is understood why somebody may think that books should not be banned at schools
because by doing this parents are hurting their children by restrain their knowledge.
When a quality book is banned, the children lose the opportunity to learn from that
book. It is better supported that, some books should be banned from schools because
they can introduce students to unacceptable topics and teach them bad or useless
Essay on Chrysanthemums
Throughout history, women have been portrayed as the weaker sex. As a result of
these unfair social assumptions, women have been working hard to dissociate
themselves from this stereotype and become more independent with their lives. In the
story The Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck, he describes Elisa Allens frustration
with her marriage, her sense of isolation from the world, and her hidden desires to
express herself as a woman and to explore her sexuality by living a more passionate
life.
The setting plays a significant role in the story. It reinforces Elisa s feelings of
isolation from the world. The tale is set in the beautiful valley of Salinas, California,
but with all its beauty, this location takes on the role of some sort ... Show more

Despite her hiding behind these symbolic clothes, she was still doing the female job
of looking after the flower garden. She learns, but does not accept, that she possesses
a weak feminine power not the masculine one she tried to achieve
The peddler is an especially important figure in this story and represents the kind of
life Elisa Allen would like to experience. He is described as a big, bearded and
greying man with an attractive presence, whose eyes are dark and full of brooding.
He lives his life on the road, traveling the country and making what little money he
can from his loyal customers by fixing their pots and knives. After entering Elisa s
yard, he repeatedly asks if she has anything he can fix. She refuses him a job and
becomes very irritated, The irritation and resistance melted from Elisa s face (263).
But when the peddler admires her flowers, she grew eager and alert (263), and feels
like he admires her. She tears off the battered hat and shook out her dark pretty hair
(263). She decides to allow the peddler into her world by giving him some sprouts of
chrysanthemums in a pot for the customer that he claims is interested in
chrysanthemums. By giving him the sprouts, she gives him the symbol of her inner
self. Her enthusiasm for her flowers is a very feministic characteristic. She gives the
peddler a job and he leaves. The fact that others might be interested in her passion for
gardening gives her the idea that she may have a distinct
The Canadian Senior Housing Market
The Canadian senior housing market is very broad, both economically and
physically. Financial and medical needs have shaped the various different types of
senior housing, resulting in benefits and disadvantages of each type. The senior
housing market has had many changes over the past few years, due to the influx of
baby boomers retiring. These retired baby boomers have started to rapidly shape
the housing market not only for seniors, but for society in general. Senior housing
choices influence the activity of the housing market, affecting both supply and
demand. There are various types of senior housing options available to the
different financial and medical needs of seniors. The various types of housing
include ageing at home, senior s apartments, long term care/nursing homes, and
retirement homes (ORCA, 2013). All of these different options have varying
degrees of care offered to seniors, depending on their needs. The first is called
standard space, where seniors receive a low level of care approximately 1.5 hours
of care per day and costing an average $1,995 per month. Contrary to standard
spaces, heavy care spaces provide the resident with extra care every day but, they
pay a premium for this luxury costing $3,477 per month. Heavy care is usually
reserved for seniors with Alzheimer s, Dementia or mobility restrictions. The most
popular form of care for seniors is 24 hour call bell, accounting for approximately
93.9% in senior housing. This type of care allows
Essay On Intersectionality
The idea of intersectionality is that all of our identities overlap and are also
constantly affecting our privileges and oppressions. People do not always think
about their interactions despite them playing a pivotal role in our human experience.
This is what causes some writers to feel the need to put them into words so that
maybe more people will look at themselves and do some thinking about their own
intersections. Some of the authors that I believe have done this well are Patricia
Collins in her work titled Black Feminist Thought. Another work that discussed
intersectionality well is titled A Black Feminist Statement which is powerful in the
way it discusses how raceinteracts with womanhood. The final piece I feel as though
needs discussed is Women, Race, and Class which is a piece written by Angela Davis
that discusses the intersections that can be seen in... Show more content on

In the early women s right s campaign there was not much focus on the
intersectionality it was more based on the issues that white women were facing at the
time. This lead to many issue involved in the feminist movement, due to the lack of
intersectionality. As Davis points out this lead to the racist undertones throughout the
feminist movement one of the issues Davis mentions is when Fredrick Douglass, a
member of the feminist movement, sent his daughter away to a white school and she
was denied access by a woman claiming to be an abolitionist. These issues were
rampant in my opinion due to the lack of a more intersectional attitude. The first
feminist movement wasn t all bad as Davis points out. Many white women put their
lives on the line to fight for the rights of their African Americansisters. As Davis
explains a white woman refused to let he school be segregated, therefor fought for the
rights of young African Americans to receive the same education. As Davis states the
State Line Liquors In Elkton

to look at the ground mutter thank you and retreat to their cars. It can get really
frustrating when this happens because people always seem to expect us to do it.
They do not understand what a serviceis. People always say that waiters and
waitresses have it rough because most of their wages come from tips, but
Americans have ingrained into their mind that the waiter must always be tipped.
This is only one of the many jobs inside of the service industry. I believe in always
tipping the service guy. The service workforce really do have the hardest jobs out
there. They

In this report i will be writing brief description on the functions of the main cell
components of the body cell.
The cell membrane : is something that lets some things in and some things out of
the cell. It is an outer cover for the cell. If the cell membrane was non existences the
cell would spill all over the place. Its function is to protect the integrity of the interior
of the cell by allowing certain substances into the cell, while keeping other
substances out. It is composed of a thin, double layered sheet of lipids, around the
Cell and is a protective membrane layer around every Cell.

It acts as a storage organelle. It is important in the creation and storage of steroids. It
also stores ions in solution that the cell may need at a later time. Steroids are a
type of ringed organic molecule used for many purposes in an organism. They are
not always about building muscle mass like a weight lifter. The ion storage is
important because sometimes a cell needs ions fast. It might not want to search the
environment for ions, so it is easier to have them stored in a pack for easy use.
Rough ER looks rough on the surface because it is stubbed with very small
organelles called ribosomes. Ribosomes are made of RNA and protein and are the
site of protein synthesis. They are very important in the synthesis and packaging of
proteins. Some of those proteins might be used in the cell and some are sent out.
The ribosomes are attached to the membrane of the ER. As the ribosomes builds the
amino acid chain, the chain is pushed into the ER. When the protein is complete, the
rough ER pinches off a vesicle. That vesicle, a small membrane bubble, can move to
the cell membrane or the Golgi apparatus
Golgi apparatus[pic]
The function of the Golgi apparatus is to modify, sort, and package proteins and other
materials from the endoplasmic reticulum for storage in the cell or secretion outside
the cell.

I was toured by the docent Ms. Alba Muniz at the Ringling Museum of Art located
in Sarasota, Florida. Asking her and some of the tours many questions, one of the
answers they gave me was that the museum does have a lot of Renaissance, Gothic
and Rococo but the museum is particularly strong in the Baroque period. This
museum was very interesting and exciting to visit. It had featured exhibits such as
Peter Paul Rubens s, The Triumph of the Eucharist Series, Trenton Doyle Hancock
s, What the Bringback Brought, and Builder Levy s, Appalachia USA. These three
exhibits where really compelling and had a strong background to them. For example
Peter Paul Rubens s, The Triumph of the Eucharist Series, was comminsioned by
daughter of King Phillip II in 1625. Her name was Isabella Clara Eugenia and she
was actually in one of the tapestries presented in the museum. That tapestry was

Each rental car company maintains separate advertising campaigns, websites and

The company offers customers high quality vehicles and premium service. It
derives the bulk of its sales and profits from rentals in the United States. It
considers Avis to be a key competitor. Hertz offers its customers several key
features including the low cost Hertz #1 Club Gold program which provides an
expedited rental service to members worldwide. Also, Hertz offers a Prestige

When a weld does not pass on the first time the time and cost it takes to make it
right is more than double what it would normally cost. 5: Warranty: With having to

The Relations Between China And The Democratic Republic
Of...
Introduction The trajectory of global politics has dramatically changed after the end
the World War II and after the Berlin Wall came down in 1989. In fact, many
countries around the globe became economically competitive, politically stable, and
culturally optimistic. As the result, many nations started affirming themselves on the
global arena while others continued to struggle internally and beyond the borders. The
combinations of these factors have perhaps led to interdependency.
Globalization has played a significant role in bringing nations together. In order to
advance their interests, share their common experience, and overcome their
weaknesses, states constantly engage in bilateral or multilateral relationships. The
bilateral relationships between China and the Democratic Republic of Congo obey to
these dynamic trends. The People s Republic of China and the Democratic Republic
of Congo enjoy stable diplomatic relations although there have been an increasing
economic interests for one another since 1973.
Background
The People s Republic of China and the Democratic Republic of Congo (Formerly
Zaire) established their diplomatic relationships in 1973 during an official visit to
Beijing by Mubuto. Since, there have been intensifications despite the internal
turmoil on each side. Before 1973 however, relations with China became rocky when
Zaire obtained its independence in 1960 from Belgium and established relations with
Taiwan. As the result, the angry China

International Terrorism Essay

  • 1. International Terrorism Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of international terrorism is undeniably a challenging endeavor that requires a careful balance of research, analysis, and critical thinking. The intricacies involved in exploring the multifaceted nature of terrorism on a global scale demand a nuanced understanding of geopolitical, socio-economic, and cultural factors. To begin with, delving into the historical roots and evolution of international terrorism necessitates a comprehensive examination of various conflicts, movements, and ideological shifts. This historical context is crucial for unraveling the complex web of motives that drive acts of terror across borders. Furthermore, analyzing the contemporary landscape of global terrorism involves staying abreast of current events and the ever-evolving tactics employed by terrorist organizations. The dynamic nature of this subject matter requires a constant reassessment of sources and a keen awareness of the geopolitical climate. Addressing the root causes of terrorism adds another layer of complexity. Attempting to dissect and understand the socio-economic, political, and cultural factors that contribute to the rise of extremism demands a nuanced approach. It involves navigating through a myriad of perspectives and theories while remaining mindful of the sensitive nature of the topic. Moreover, formulating a coherent thesis statement and supporting arguments requires a careful integration of diverse viewpoints, data, and scholarly opinions. Balancing the presentation of facts with an insightful analysis of their implications poses an additional challenge, as does maintaining a neutral tone while discussing such a emotionally charged topic. In conclusion, writing an essay on international terrorism demands intellectual rigor, an expansive knowledge base, and a willingness to engage with uncomfortable truths. It necessitates the ability to sift through a vast array of information, critically evaluate sources, and synthesize complex ideas into a cohesive narrative. • 2. Lady With An Erine Analysis Lady With an Ermine In his portrait Lady with an Ermine, Leonardo da Vinci s innovative detail to composition, chiaroscuro, and symbolism allows the emergence of a new style of portraiture. In the book Leonardo da Vinci: The Marvellous Works of Nature and Man, Kemp demonstrates his knowledge on Leonardo s portrait through stylistic analysis and historical input. Shell and Sironi presents their article Cecilia Gallerani: Leonardo s Lady with an Ermine, through studies in the identification of the painting. The authors of the article study physical and historical features of the painting to create meaning. Through the analysis of stylistic features and examination of history, the meaning of the Lady with an Ermine can be uncovered as a portrait with poetic vitality and aristocratic value. The portrait Lady with an Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci [Fig. 1], displays a young lady known as Cecilia Gallerani with an ermine on her lap. Cecilia s head tilts to the side and the line of her eyes follows as she gazes away from the beholder. The positioning of her head and eyes create a mysterious atmosphere around her. She seems dignified through the divergence of her eyes from the beholder. Furthermore, her body is slanted towards the beholder while her head slants in the opposite direction. The composition of her body seems to be engaging with the beholder but her her gaze indicates no interest. The distance between the beholder and her indicates that one can only admire her from afar. The ermine sits gracefully in Cecilia s arms and its eyes also diverts away. The ermine tilts its head to his right, opposite of Cecilia. The different angles of their heads reflects the dynamics and movement of the portrait. Therefore, the portrait does not feel stiff but rather lively. Another feature of this portrait is the use of Chiaroscuro and its ability to make the portrait look realistic. The light source coming from the left side illuminates Cecilia s skin against the dark background. The light brightens the entire left side of Cecilia and the ermine, meanwhile creating shadows on the right side of her body. The shadows, however, are soft like reflected light. The reflected light has intensity on the bright parts of her body

  • 4. Italian Immigration In The Late 1800s Italian immigration became very prevalent during the time of 1880 to 1899 as 900,000 immigrants fled to America because Italy suffered from overpopulation, poverty and natural disasters. In the 1870s, Italian birthrates rose and death rates fell (Digital History). In the poor southern provinces of Italy, over population became severe. By the late 1890s, the illiteracy rate in southern Italy raised to 70 percent, which was ten times the rate in England, France, or Germany. The Italian government was dominated by northerners, and southerners were hurt by high taxes and high protective tariffs on northern industrial goods. Southerners also suffered from a scarcity of cultivable land, soil erosion and deforestation, and a lack of coal and iron ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many Italian immigrants were known as birds of passage because they came to the United States seeking temporary work without any intention of living permanently. Because the economy was suffering in Italy, the Italians were unable to earn a livelihood in their home countries (Digital History). Most of the laborers who came to the United States were young men in their teens and twenties, who left behind their parents, wives, and children to work and save money. Before 1900, an estimated 78 percent of Italian immigrants were men. Many of them traveled to America in the early spring, worked until late fall, and then returned to the warmer climates of their southern European homes winter (Digital History). Because the Italians were looking for high wages and not long term residency, they migrated to the cities where wages were relatively high despite the poor living conditions. The Italians lived as inexpensively as possible under conditions that native born families considered intolerable (Digital History). The immigrants took heavy construction jobs such as digging tunnels, laying railroad tracks, constructing bridges and roads, and erecting skyscrapers. As early as 1890, 90 percent of New York City s public works employees and 99 percent of Chicago s street workers were Italian (Digital History). The Italians played a major role in the development of big United States cities as they were the labor force of the construction jobs. While the Italians migrated to these large cities together, they formed ethnic enclaves and left Italian culture in these

  • 7. Discrimination of Irish Catholic Immigrants During the... Discrimination of Irish Catholic Immigrants During the 1920 s During the 1920 s there were many controversial issues. There was a concern about declining moral and ethical values, which led to restrictions such as prohibition for example. The concern about these issues seemed most intense when they pertained to religion. In situations like these it always seems necessary to place the blame somewhere. One particular group on which this blame was emphasized happened to be the immigrants. Irish Catholic immigrants were a main focus of discrimination in many ways. The fight for immigration restriction was fueled by America s negative view of foreigners. Protestants especially made it a point to link alcohol ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fear that surrounded this time period was a perfect way to spread the propaganda of the Klan. It was believed that this group of immigrants held their primary allegiance to a foreign sovereign over loyalty to the United States. This anti Catholicism was a driving force behind the popularity of the KKK. To show the mentality of the time, there was no tax on Klan fees because they were considered to be a benevolent society by the government. The fact that the KKK adamantly discriminated against the Irish Catholics may seem surprising because the majority of today s population would assume that the Klan s members encompassed any person who appeared to be Caucasian. This group of immigrants was also discriminated in the workplace. Employers made the wages for this group lower than wages of other employees. The intention for this ill treatment was that the immigrants would warn their Irish relatives of the bad conditions here in the U.S. discouraging them from immigrating as well as to encourage the Irish Catholic immigrant employees who resided in the U.S. to leave. This direct discrimination against the Irish Catholic immigrants was hypocritical in the democratic and liberal society of America. It is wrong to allow one group to infringe upon another one s rights just because of religious
  • 8. Fossil Fuels Disadvantages Fossil fuels have been the world s main energy source since they were discovered, however, they carry harmful side effects such as pollution and climate change. Forms of alternative energy such as solar, wind, and nuclear power are possible replacements of fossil fuel energy. Controversy surrounds both fossil fuels and alternative forms of energy due to each energy form having consequences. Some believe that alternative energybrings just as many disadvantages as fossil fuels, while others argue that alternative energy is better for the environment and its population. While people have different beliefs pertaining to alternative energy, both forms of energy have been used throughout history. Fossil fuels are created from the remains of decayed animals and plants and then burned to make energy. Coal, oil, and natural gas are examples of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels grew in popularity during the Industrial Revolution when the first coal deposits were found (Mason). This discovery prompted a new age of energy and eventually led to the use of oil, another fossil fuel. Fossil fuels continued to grow and eventually became the world s main energy source, but burning fossil fuels gives off carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that causes climate change. The climate change created by fossil fuels produced the controversy that surrounds this form of energy. Another popular energy source is alternative energy. Alternative energy is any form of energy besides fossil fuels, such as solar, wind, and nuclear power. Similar to fossil fuels, ideas of alternative energy began during the Industrial Revolution, however, these designs were not created until the 1950s (Mason). During the 1950s, the renewable forms of alternative energy were the most popular, due to the realization that fossil fuel sources would eventually be depleted. Today, research about alternative energy is still being done as this energy source is also controversial. Alternative energy is said to be less reliable and even more dangerous than fossil fuels. Although both alternative energy forms and fossil fuels are controversial, they remain relevant in today s world because energy is necessary in people s daily lives. Interpretation By Susan Sontag Asif Ali Swetha Antony, Assistant Professor, DU IA Term Paper Sem II 3 APRIL 2015 Susan Sontag s View on Interpretation and its Applications and Analysis Using Bedlam Painting Number Eight Interpretation has been a phenomenon existing from the time immemorial. There has been a long tradition of interpretation, in all occupations. Interpretation of arts and literature has gone to an extent that it has taken shape of a discipline and has grown as a methodology and an art itself. Eliot even says, We might remind ourselves that criticism is as inevitable as breathing . Method of Interpretation has long been a subject of discussion among intellectual circles and it has been subject to a constant evolution ever since it came into being. The significance of the branding iron is linked with the feeling of a cage/imprisonment, a mark of enslavement/ownership. This stance is more emphasised by the wives as they yell at nux that they are no more than breeders and battle fodder for an old man. Twin comes from the German word twine meaning two together (Nagy 1). Most people automatically think of two people who look just alike when they hear the word twin. However, there is a lot more to twins than just looking alike. Twins are the most common type of multiple births. The overall survival rate for these twins is somewhere between five and twenty five percent (Sanders 2). This means that the majority of conjoined twins die within twenty four hours of birth. For the few who survive the traumatic beginning, surgical separation is often possible for conjoined twins. The average survival rate after surgery is around forty six percent (Sanders 2). This percent depends greatly on the location of the attachment and the organs that are shared. There is some controversy over the separation of conjoined twins. In some cases separation has turned into a moral issue. A prime example of how dependent one twin is on the other is in the case of the British conjoined twins, Jodie and Mary. Jodie was stronger and more capable than her sister. Mary was weak and was only alive because she was attached to Jodie. However, Mary s weakness would eventually make Jodie weak as well. The parents were burdened with a moral dilemma, which would result with the loss of at least one child (Sanders 4). If Mary and Jodie were separated, one would likely die. Some separations are more difficult to complete than others. Parents of conjoined twins have to think about all of the factors before they proceed with a separation. There are also factors to think about after separation. If both twins survive the separation, they may still need an enormous amount of medical treatment throughout their life. Here is a breathing body and a beating heart, strong legs, bones and teeth, and two clear eyes to see the world to read the world with, she whispered, and here, I said, is the lanyard I made at camp. These lines from the poem are metaphors of not being able to give your mother what she deserves at a young age for all that she has done for you. • 31. Essay On Intersectionality The idea of intersectionality is that all of our identities overlap and are also constantly affecting our privileges and oppressions. People do not always think about their interactions despite them playing a pivotal role in our human experience. This is what causes some writers to feel the need to put them into words so that maybe more people will look at themselves and do some thinking about their own intersections. Some of the authors that I believe have done this well are Patricia Collins in her work titled Black Feminist Thought. Another work that discussed intersectionality well is titled A Black Feminist Statement which is powerful in the way it discusses how raceinteracts with womanhood. The final piece I feel as though needs discussed is Women, Race, and Class which is a piece written by Angela Davis that discusses the intersections that can be seen in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the early women s right s campaign there was not much focus on the intersectionality it was more based on the issues that white women were facing at the time. This lead to many issue involved in the feminist movement, due to the lack of intersectionality. As Davis points out this lead to the racist undertones throughout the feminist movement one of the issues Davis mentions is when Fredrick Douglass, a member of the feminist movement, sent his daughter away to a white school and she was denied access by a woman claiming to be an abolitionist. These issues were rampant in my opinion due to the lack of a more intersectional attitude. The first feminist movement wasn t all bad as Davis points out. Many white women put their lives on the line to fight for the rights of their African Americansisters. As Davis explains a white woman refused to let he school be segregated, therefor fought for the rights of young African Americans to receive the same education. As Davis states the

I carefully carry their stuff out only for them to look at the ground mutter thank you and retreat to their cars. It can get really frustrating when this happens because people always seem to expect us to do it. They do not understand what a serviceis. People always say that waiters and waitresses have it rough because most of their wages come from tips, but Americans have ingrained into their mind that the waiter must always be tipped. This is only one of the many jobs inside of the service industry. I believe in always tipping the service guy. The service workforce really do have the hardest jobs out there. They

The cell membrane : is something that lets some things in and some things out of the cell. It is an outer cover for the cell. If the cell membrane was non existences the cell would spill all over the place. Its function is to protect the integrity of the interior of the cell by allowing certain substances into the cell, while keeping other substances out. It is composed of a thin, double layered sheet of lipids, around the Cell and is a protective membrane layer around every Cell. Nucleus [pic] The nucleus is the control centre of a cell. It is important in the creation and storage of steroids. It also stores ions in solution that the cell may need at a later time. Steroids are a type of ringed organic molecule used for many purposes in an organism. They are not always about building muscle mass like a weight lifter. The ion storage is important because sometimes a cell needs ions fast. It might not want to search the environment for ions, so it is easier to have them stored in a pack for easy use. Rough ER looks rough on the surface because it is stubbed with very small organelles called ribosomes. Ribosomes are made of RNA and protein and are the site of protein synthesis. They are very important in the synthesis and packaging of proteins. Some of those proteins might be used in the cell and some are sent out. The ribosomes are attached to the membrane of the ER. As the ribosomes builds the amino acid chain, the chain is pushed into the ER. When the protein is complete, the rough ER pinches off a vesicle. That vesicle, a small membrane bubble, can move to the cell membrane or the Golgi apparatus Golgi apparatus[pic] The function of the Golgi apparatus is to modify, sort, and package proteins and other materials from the endoplasmic reticulum for storage in the cell or secretion outside the cell. Lysosome [pic] Lysosomes are single, membrane bound sacs that contain

Asking her and some of the tours many questions, one of the answers they gave me was that the museum does have a lot of Renaissance, Gothic and Rococo but the museum is particularly strong in the Baroque period. This museum was very interesting and exciting to visit. It had featured exhibits such as Peter Paul Rubens s, The Triumph of the Eucharist Series, Trenton Doyle Hancock s, What the Bringback Brought, and Builder Levy s, Appalachia USA. These three exhibits where really compelling and had a strong background to them. For example Peter Paul Rubens s, The Triumph of the Eucharist Series, was comminsioned by daughter of King Phillip II in 1625. This means that the last item inserted will be the first item removed. Inserting an item is referred to as Pushing, while removing an item is called Popping. A queue works a little different than a stack does, in that it follows First In First Out. So rather than having the last object removed first, the first object is removed first. Elements can be inserted at any time, but the only element that can be removed is the one that has been in the queue the longest. To meet the growing demand of the market and the out dated equipment we have in hand now. I am tasked with finding a new power source for our company. The first power source I Looked at is a Lincoln Precision Tig 375. The next one I took a look at is a Miller Dynasty 350. Application: The use of thinner gauge Ti and Ni alloys is pushing the aircraft engine industry to ensure high quality welds can be made with lower levels of heat input. Every part we produce goes through our nondestructive laboratory to test the welds under x ray or die penetrant. Key Factors 1: High frequency: With our company being located so close to a local airport we are under strict guidelines for the use of high frequency during the welding process.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3: Energy Savings: Our current machines are an amperage hog. With updating to newer power sources we hope to be able to cut back on the amperage draw at idle as well as when welding is being performed. 4: Labor Savings: With every weld we produce having to go through nondestructive testing its labor intensive processes. When a weld does not pass on the first time the time and cost it takes to make it right is more than double what it would normally cost. 5: Warranty: With having to upgrade having a warranty on the power source will be a major role. As our staff will have to be trained on these newer and more advanced machines we are expecting some malfunctions. Comparison: 1: High frequency in the Miller Dynasty 350 is only on when you initiate the arc. This in turn eliminates issues with continuous high frequency. On the Lincoln Precision Tig 375 side they utilize continuous high frequency to eliminate cross over arc

Introduction The trajectory of global politics has dramatically changed after the end the World War II and after the Berlin Wall came down in 1989. In fact, many countries around the globe became economically competitive, politically stable, and culturally optimistic.
