Comparing Leadership In The First Avenger And Iron Man
Leadership skills are an essential element to the development of effective leaders. Some leaders
have natural abilities while others are thrust into a position of leadership and develop on the
way. Ultimately I believe great leadership skills are derived from values, beliefs and skills in
relaying those values and beliefs to the people around them. With effort we can all develop the
key elements to ultimately motivate and effectively lead any team to success. In this essay I
will compare and contrast two persons with very different leaderships styles and analyze their
abilities to effectively lead. Steve Rogers is the main character of the movie The First Avenger
and is great contrast to Tony Stark of the movie Iron Man . Both have very different
backgrounds, values and beliefs which ultimately translate to the people around them as they are
both chosen to lead. This compare and contrast will also span a series of six movies in order to
track the development of these characters as they mature and experience difficult challenges in the
eyes of their team. The First Avenger The First Avenger takes place during WWII. Steve Rogers is
a young scrawny kid who is convinced it is his duty and responsibility to fight in the war.
Unfortunately, Steve suffers from a host of ailments and is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Effects Of False Beauty From Photoshop
The Effects of False Beauty from Photoshop Everywhere women look, all we see is a form of
false beauty within the media that surrounds us on an everyday basis. When we look at women in
magazines, beauty advertisements, television commercials and more we see beautiful big eyes,
luscious full lips, soft, wrinkle free, poreless skin, and that intriguing radiant glow that every photo
seems to have. How about the curves of the womans body, the shape and perfect placement of their
breasts, and how every inch of their figure is always in the shape and size that we personally wish
to be at; how everything about these women seem to be well... perfect in every way. Women start
out young admiring the beauty that these women hold in media and... Show more content on

So, if you think about how much you wanted to impress the boy you had a crush on when you
were going to school; you would style your hair nice and pretty making sure that every strand
was in its right place, take an hour or more to do your makeup just to try to resemble a beauty
that you saw somewhere, and lastly you would pick out that perfect outfit, making sure to look
in the mirror ten times before you left the house. You did all of this just to impress a boy and in
some cases the boy you liked still did not notice you. This triggers sentiments and emotions in
your head that can resemble you thinking that you are not good enough or pretty enough for this
boy, which brings your self esteem down and causes you to start changing more and more about
your appearance. Self esteem sucks honestly because one day you can feel you look beautiful and
happy with yourself externally, but one moment later something can happen making you feel just
the opposite. In today s world women are shown and told how they should look, what they should
wear, and what they should eat to be able to achieve the beauty that is shown in women s magazine
and beauty advertisements around the world. Women and men are both affected by media outlets;
later in their lives they will look to be in a relationship with a woman/man that resembles these
photos in magazines, but what both men and women do not understand is that every picture in
these magazines are fake. The perfect beauty that we

Compare And Contrast West Side Story And West Side Story
West Side Story is the iconic American musical that is a 1957 Broadway production
choreographed by Jerome Robbins. Arthur Laurents is the author of the original book with the
setting taking place in the upper west side New York city in a blue collar neighborhood during
the mid 1950s. (The Broadway) Because West Side Story is a movie musical, it will be a lot of
narrative conveyed through the song. The movie West Side Story and Romeo and Juliet have
many similarities and differences consider their plot, their character and their setting. The major
plot of the musical is about a rivalry between two different ethnic group gangs, the Sharks and Jets.
The Sharks are Puerto Rican and the Jets are white. Leonard Bernstein composed the dynamic and
influential music. In the mix of the conflict between the two gangs, a former member of the Jets,
Tony, falls in love with the leader of the Sharks sister, Maria. Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet
clearly influenced this movie, and there are parallel characteristics. For instance, Romeo and Tony,
Juliet and Maria, Mercutio and Riff, Tybalt and Bernardo all have similar characteristics. As for the
specific film, I decided to watch the 1961 version.
2. Film Response
In the opening scene with the jets, the orchestral background music painted the picture of the jets
being spontaneous and unpredictable. The music especially designed their personalities well with
the random loud burst of accented notes from the brass. The mood definitely changes

Informative Speech On Horses
Horses are kind, gentle, and loving animals. They have been in many movies and are in many
sports and books. I am going to share 3 essential, important, questions about horses that I think you
should know.
Did horses evolve from a different animal?
About 55 million years ago the horse we know now was a small animal standing 2 feet tall. The
earliest horse had pointed teeth which shows that it might have eaten meat. As you know the horse
nowadays doesn t have toes. A long time ago horses had toes. The skull of the earliest horse looks
like a fox s skull with back teeth.
How were horses used in the past and used how are they used now?
For centuries horses have been used to clear forests, plow land, and herd cattle. A long time time

Same Sex Marriage Debate Over The Free Speech Clause And...
Judging from this article from Wall Street Journal, the major conflict that exists in this same sex
marriage legalization debate is between the free speech clause and antidiscrimination law.
Technically, the people who refused to offer their service to the homosexual people based on their
religious belief were not legally wrong according to the first amendment. However, did the
homosexual couples do anything wrong? No, they didn t. They ordered the same services, and they
were willing to pay the same amount of money. What they wanted was nothing illegal. Then here
comes the dilemma, how can neither of them be wrong in a conflict? So, this paper will analyze the
rightness and the wrongness in an ethical dilemma between civil rights... Show more content on

For Kantian ethics, the standard is based on if most people are acting the same way. Even though
some people are still struggling on whether they should support the LGBT community, the statistics
give us a clear trend of people s change of their perspective on same sex marriage. According to the
national polling data, the number of people who support the same sex marriage had risen from
37 percent in 2005 to 60 percent in 2015. Apparently, with the development of the modern
society, more and more people are becoming open minded and willing to show their support to
the LGBT community. Moreover, while some religious people against the same sex marriage,
some of them choose to support it due to the different interpretation of the bible they are holding.
Jesus never said a single word about gays or lesbians or same sex marriage, or any of the other
social issues that so many people seem to be possessed with fighting today , said Ducan(n.d),a
Christian. Since the number of supporting the legalization of same sex marriage has an increasing
tendency, in this instance, same sex marriage can be defined morally right standing on the popular
belief. For the principle of Rights, whether a business decision is defined ethical depends on how it
affects the rights of stakeholders, including owners, consumers, employees, the community and the
society. For the firms that rejected to do business with Gay couples, they

Essay On Asylum In Russia
Throughout history, Russians have left their homeland to apply for asylum in other countries. A
large number of Russians came to the US to apply for asylum during the 1980s and the 1990s
because of all the problems occurring in the Soviet Union and the freedom that the US offered. The
main issues that took place in Russia included Jewish persecution and pogroms. Although they
endured a tough life in their homeland, Russians came to the US with hopes of being granted
asylum. Luckily, many Russians were granted asylum, so they could live a free, successful life in
the US.
The main reason why Russians have left their homeland was because of Jewish persecution. During
the 1980s and the 1990s, the Jewish religion was forbidden to be practiced in the Soviet Union,
along with a few other religions. Russia consists of one of the world s largest Jewish communities,
so many Jews living in Russia were discriminated against and faced prejudice. Jews living in the
Soviet Union were under strict government control. For example, Hebrew study was banned and
printing Jewish calendars was prohibited. In addition, it was forbidden to print Jewish books. In fact,

were more common throughout the 19th century, they often occurred during the 1980s. Anti
Jewish feelings still existed, so pogroms would be set up to severely attack Jewish populations.
As a result of the violent pogroms, Jews were injured and killed. Also, Jewish communities,
businesses, and synagogues were either destroyed, burned down, or vandalized. Jews didn t feel
safe in Russia due to all of the pogroms occurring. This well founded fear of being severely
punished for belonging to a certain religion was formed by both Jewish persecution and pogroms.

The Meaning Of Coming Of Age Essay
The statement coming of age means to me that you are given more responsibility to do different
things, you are expected to be more mature and more trust is handed to you. These are just a few
of the things that are expected of you when you are coming of age because you are getting closer
to being a responsible, mature and trustworthy adult. The reason that I think you are given more
responsibility when you are coming of age is because you are getting older and about ready to
move out of the house, and when you do there won t be any excuses for not doing things that you
are supposed to do because it s on you for not doing what you are supposed to do. With that, you
are given more and more responsibility until you come of age to get you ready for the real world....

Being mature means you have to know when to stop arguing and to respect others. You will be
expected to act like an adult even if you aren t one because if you don t learn how to before you
come of age, you won t be respected properly and it will be hard to get through life without being
mature. Being mature is one of the key things to be in life. In addition to the following
expectations you are expected to be when coming of age, being trustworthy is another key
element to life for if you aren t trustworthy it s very likely that you won t get hire or get fired
from the job because how can someone give you a task if they don t trust that you ll do it. Being
trustworthy means to not only tell the truth at all times but to do the right thing when no one is
watching because if you do so, people will not only trust you to do a simple task but it can be a

A Dream Without My Dream
Everyone dreams at some point in their life. The world is what it is today because of a certain
Martin Luther King Jr announcing his dream to the world. Imagine what the world would be like
if no one had any dreams or ambitions. We wouldn t have any of the great inventions that are
present today. There would be no electricity, no telephone, no vaccinations, no transport! The whole
of the United States probably wouldn t have been discovered if it wasn t Christopher Columbus
dreamto find India, and we d probably all be running about wearing loin clothes in the dark like
shown in the Flintstones!
That is, if the human race didn t end up dying out altogether. But, what can I say? People had
dreams , and here I am, Dan Howell, 17 years old, up at 4 o clock in the morning staring out my
window daydreaming. Although chances are that I m not really day dreaming if it s 4 in the
morning right? Ok, so I guess night dreaming but you know, without the sleeping.

The Concept Of Incentives And The Way Of Which Humans...
Sandel next adresses the concept of incentives and the way in which humans respond to them.
Individuals act in order to maximize their own welfare and therefore respond things that allow
them to do so; these things are known as incentives. Sandel provides us with the example of
students who where offered financial incentive to do better in school. However the reaction to
the incentives differed from the standard economic model. While paying students who passed
AP exams did increase over all success, the results indicated that the amount of money payed
made no difference in the amount of achievement. While the did serve its purpose as an
incentive, the money did not act as a bribe but rather as an agent that changed the stigma
associated with AP testing making it cool for students to do. While there do exist benefits to
offering incentives, there also exists ramification known as perverse incentives. The notion of
perverse incentives deals with the idea that by placing a market price on a certain act, the
meaning of the act itself may become blurred. Sandel offers the example of fine Vs. fees where
parents would come late to pick up their children from day care and treat the fine for coming late
as a fee for extended service. By placing a market value on the extended time care takers had to
work, parents no longer felt guilty about leaving their child later till later hours and therefore
eroding the original purpose of the fine. At this point Sandel moves to the

Hunger Games Themes
The Hunger Games is a popular film based on the trilogy of books written by Suzanne Collins. The
story takes place in the nation of Panem. Each year, one male and one female from each of the
twelve districts must participate in the hunger games contest. The participants are between the ages
of twelve and eighteen. These twenty four contestants must fight until only one contestant remains
alive. This contestant would then be crowned the winner. The annual hunger games were
considered punishment for rebelling against the government in the past. Although this movie was
created mostly for entertainment purposes, it contains many themes that Americans can relate to.
In the beginning of the movie, the residents of district twelve gathered to the area where the
tributes would be selected to participate in the games. Two names were drawn, which included
Primrose Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. Prim s older sister Katniss... Show more content on

Neither wants to live without the other. The producers of the game insist that there can only be one
winner. Katniss and Peeta end up as the only two tributes left, which creates a conflict. The couple
decides that the best option is to die together. As they attempt to eat a handful of poisonous berries,
there is an announcement that both Katniss and Peeta are the annual hunger games winners. The
film can be related to our nation. People often warn others that our government is gaining too much
control. Revolting is the only way to stop an over ruling government. However, in the film we see
that the nation of Panem is being punished for their rebellion against the government. Thousands of
citizens are killed, including many young children. While a situation like this is unlikely to occur in
the United States, there is always a chance that it could happen one day. The film does a wonderful
job of showing us the possibilities that exist in today s

Handmaids Tale
How is Gilead presented as a place of power and control in the opening chapters of The
Handmaid s Tale? The Republic of Gilead is the fictional country which Margaret Atwood chose
as the setting for her dystopian novel, The Handmaid s Tale. We can infer from the first chapter
that Gilead is within the borders of the USA from the fact that old blankets still said US: this
hints that some sort of major catastrophe has occurred before the time of the novel to change this.
The first few chapters suggest a lot about the setting, and also how the transition of the country
from being the United States of America to the Republic of Gilead may not have been a
particularly positive one. The novel of The Handmaid s Tale is based on the... Show more content

The different uniforms worn within Gilead are another example of the state using the power
they have to control their citizens. All women in the Republic are defined by the colour of their
uniforms. These uniforms remove all individuality from particularly the submissive women, as
well as camouflaging all signs of shape and figure. Gilead sees women s sexuality as dangerous,
which is why the uniforms they have prescribed are so concealing and unflattering. When Offred
walks by the young Guardians, she moves her hips when she senses them watching her, and then
states her hope that they get hard as a result of her doing this. This shows how she feels that her
ability to inspire sexual attraction, despite her uniform is the only power she herself retains.
Fear is obviously used in Gilead as the main form of control, made clear by the fact that there are
men with machine guns in the pillboxes on either side of road this indicates how strict the rules
within the country are, and how severe the consequences are if you break them. The Guardians
sexual desire is controlled by the idea of the floodlights going on, the rifle shots which illustrates
the extent of the power the state has over them they have not yet earned the right to a women,

However, given the theory of economies of scale, we can assume that INSEAD s costs per year
related to students are approximately 1.5 than that of LBS. Specifically, we could adjust Staff costs
, External Teaching Costs and Programme catering and accommodation by this factor. Total
adjustment: based on these two changes results shows that INSEAD incurs additional expense of
ВЈ58 m. However, due to the larger class size, this cost gets spread across a larger student base.
As a result, when LBS s total cost is normalized to assume the same student volume as that of
INSEAD, LBS s total adjusted cost can be estimated to be ВЈ77 m or 42% greater than that of
INSEAD. In summary, the lower price per year at LBS cannot be explained due to potential
differences in cost, as the adjusted cost of offering the MBA program at LBS is an estimated
42% greater than that offered at INSEAD. The Role of Consumer Behavior As discussed above,
given costs cannot explain the variance in price, another explanation to this dilemma could be
found on the consumer or demand side. More specifically, the willingness to pay for an MBA
degree, whether 1 or 2 years maybe a certain level that the potential market may not be willing to
comprise on. Pricing Dilemma LBS vs. INSEAD Page 3 To assess this, it may be worth analyzing

Implications Of Wildlife In Wildlife
Wildlife
Introduction
Purpose
I would like to briefly summarize why wildlife is important and I m examining this because it s
truly important that we as people recognize that wildlife plays a big role in how we live.
Problem
Nature is losing its wildlife! The loss can be attributed to two main causes. The first cause is human
interaction. Humans are having too much interference in nature. According to the World Wide
Federation (2017), the forests, swamps, plains, and lakes are being destroyed to make room for
roads, pipelines, and industrial development. These areas serve as the natural habitat for our wildlife.
Without a home, these animals are dying off at record numbers and becoming extinct.
According to Morris (2003), Humans are also killing the animals for food and this choice also
destroys the natural habitat. Many humans are making the choice to catch fish faster than the
oceans can restock. When people choose to destroy these animal s homes, it has a negative effect on
the food chain. When one sees the impact of human interaction on the natural habitat, society must
realize that they have a responsibility to do something because our future as a species on this planet
is in jeopardy.
Procedures/Methodology
The raw data that was collected was 20 random people. You can find the collection on the next
page. I used the stratified sampling method. The survey question was Do you think wildlife is
important? and people answered either yes or no.

The Day Of The Jackal By Fredrick Forsyth
Temporal setting within a novel is a factor that drastically draws a picture perfect image. Within
the novel The Day Of The Jackal by Fredrick Forsyth, a suspicious, yet optimistic, atmosphere is
expressed due to the terrific temporal setting from the cold war era and summer season. The cold
war era creates a world of suspicion and secrecy that ties directly to the plot, while the summer
setting gives the Jackal an opportune chance to complete his assassination plans. To begin, The
Day of The Jackal is set between 1962 1963; during the height of the cold warand high tensions
between countries and political leaders. With paranoia rampant, suspicion is everywhere. By
choosing this era as the setting, awareness of the occurring world events is already present. During
this time the hatred between political parties was strong. In the novel, France is referred to as
being turned into a ... loathing of politicians and communists which at the time, was not tolerable
(Forsyth, 29). The cold war era enhanced the story as it describes France in terms relevant to its
time: communism, being the horrid political plague that it was, rapidly infected the world. Secrecy
was also exponentially taking over. Furthermore, confidentiality was depicted in the novel when
conversation details became vastly vague, with such specimens being questioned and being told
[they] do not advertise their professions or whereabouts projecting a highly secretive tone to the

Analysis Of Nervous Conditions
Nervous Conditions draws much focus on the lives of women living the impacts of colonialism in
a traditional African society in Zimbabwe. These women struggle to assert themselves in a
patriarchal society while at the same time it speaks about the history of a country that has been
under colonialization. The female characters in the stories struggle in their lives to find ways to
deal with their own situation; however, this essay emphasizes African women s situation in both
the colonized and/or patriarchal societies as exemplified by the female characters: Tambu and
Nyasha. Tambu leaves her country because of its inequality and male biases so she can seek
freedom and gain liberation. Nyasha resisters and defies patriarchy, as manifested by... Show more

Nervous Conditions narrates the harsh experiences of women in Africa who happen to be subjected
to the patriarchal system and to the colonized regime. In Imperial leather, Anne McClintock
indicates that, colonized women, before the intrusions of imperial rule, were invariably
disadvantaged within their societies, in ways that gave the colonial reordering of their sexual and
economic labor very different outcome from those of colonized men (6).Women s experience of
colonization by this sense is enormously different from that of men and their experience of
colonization upholds influences on women s life, relations, status and roles within their own
imperial societies. The colonized women must
negotiate not only the imbalances of their relations with their own men but also the baroque and
violent array of hierarchal rules and restrictions that structured their relations with imperial men and
women Clintock p.6). Exploitation is the colonizers logo and women in this novel are being
manipulated for the benefit of the patriarchal society in the same manner the colonizer deploys the
colonized for his own means.
Traditional and cultural practices reinforce the power of men in African societies and are often
embraced without any questioning. Tambu, is denied access to education because she is a girl.
Tambu s father s refusal to further her education is influenced by cultural assumptions, which
consider education to be a male preserve. Tambu s

Examples Of Ethical Dilemma In Nursing
As nurses, it is inevitable that at one point or another in our careers we will come across ethical
dilemmas when providing patient care. In fact, nursing has been labeled as the most ethical
profession. For nurses to meet the ethical obligations of the profession, the American Nurses
Association (ANA) developed the Code of Ethicsfor Nurses. Since ethics are fundamental to
nursing practice, I believe this code is of utmost importance. Patients strongly depend on a nurse s
honesty and on their adherence to those standards. By adhering to those standards, it allows nurses
to develop a trustful nurse client relationship while displaying compassion and empathy. Although
these standards are put in place for nurses, when faced with an ethical dilemma,... Show more

This patient had suffered an intraventricular hemorrhagic stroke. Since this patient lived alone,
she was found by her son unconscious; however, it was unknown how long she had been
unconscious. When she arrived at the hospital, she was a GCS of three and had not improved
since then. Three weeks later, when I returned to neuro ICU I again cared for this patient and her
status had remained unchanged. Therefore, an ethics consult was made with the family to
recommend comfort care. However, since the patient had undergone an ischemic stroke a few
years back and fully recovered, the family had hope the patient would fully recover again.
Although, it was explained that the strokes were different and the amount of damage to the brain
was irreversible they still were not accepting the reality of the patient s condition. These situations
are difficult since the patient s family is in denial, but you must respect their decision and continue
to provide care for the patient (What do I do now? Ethical dilemmas in nursing and health care,

The Jewish Community Of Today
The Jewish community of today believe that the Pharisees of Jesus time have transformed into a
group called rabbinic Judaism after the destruction of the temple in 70 C.E. They are believed to
be the Rabbi s of today, and are living proof, that they all were not against Jesus.
Today, all major branches of Judaismclaim at least some affinity with rabbinic Judaism of
centuries gone by, and perceive Judaism as issuing not simply from the Hebrew Bible but also
from the interpretation of those Scriptures by the Pharisees and their successors, the rabbis (Cook,
M. J. p. 441).
With this in mind, it is believed that we can get a better understanding of the Pharisees and Scribes
of when Jesus walked the earth. By using the Gospels and the rabbinic writings one could get a
clear picture of this group according to Dr. Cook. There is one account in the Gospel of John were
one Pharisee questions Jesus and is trying to understand who Jesus is and what message is he
bringing them.
Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to
Jesus by night and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one
can do these signs that you do unless God is with him (John 3:1 2).
Nicodemus mentions that he is not the only one, and must mean that other Pharisees and Scribes
did believe that Jesus was from God. They most likely thought Him to be a prophet and not the
Messiah because he did not come and rescue them from their captures.

Big Bang
it is important to understand what Big Bang Theory (BBT) is and is not. Contrary to the common
perception, it is not a theory about the origin of the universe. Rather, it describes the development
of the universe over time. This process is often called cosmic evolution . Over the last several
decades the basic picture of cosmology given by BBT has been generally accepted by astronomers,
physicists and the wider scientific community. However, no similar consensus has been reached on
ideas about the ultimate origin of the universe. This remains an area of active research and some of
idea current ideas are discussed below. That said, BBT is nevertheless about origins
In addition to being a theory about the origins of the basic building ... Show more content on

In both cases, the model implies that the universe is expanding into some larger, pre existing
volume. In fact, the theory says nothing like that. Instead, the expansion of the universe is
completely self contained.
People often have difficulty with the idea that space itself expands . An easier way to understand
this concept is to think of it as the distance between any two points in the universe increasing. First,
the distance between A and B is a function of time and second, the distance is always increasing.
To really understand what this means and how one would define distance in such a model, it is
necessary to have some idea of what Einstein s theory of General Relativity (GR) is about: Space
tells matter how to move, matter tells space how to curve. Another way of describing GR would be
something like: Energy determines the geometry and changes in the geometry of the universe, and,
in turn, the geometry determines the movement of energy .
So, given this, how does one get BBT from GR? The basic equations come directly from Einstein s
GR equation under two key assumptions: First, that the distribution of matter and energy in the
universe is homogeneous and, second, that the distribution is isotropic. A simpler way to put this is
that the universe looks the same everywhere and in every direction = cosmological principle.
If we adopt these simple assumptions, the implications for the geometry of the universe are quite
profound. First, one

Arcata Community Forestry
Managing a forest with and for the people: Community forestry and environmental public
participation in the case of Arcata, California
1. Introduction
All across the United States, historical patterns of resource extraction have led to degradation and
fragmentation of forest landscapes. When a community depends on those resources, a local crisis
can emerge from this process of degradation. To reverse this scenario, community forestrybecame a
popular approach in the 1970s as a modern policy and practice (Baker and Kusel, 2003). This
model was based on a simple assumption: as local people already use and rely on the natural
resources of their forests, they are in the best position to conserve them. However, recent literature

Dr. Simons And Christopher F Chabris
Introduction
Research has proposed a visual phenomenon that implies that everyone has a visual blind spot a
small region in each eye that cannot see our surroundings. This phenomenon brings about the
theory of inattentional blindness; that we sometimes miss opportunities or events because we are
focusing on something else. The concept rose from Harvard psychologists Daniel J Simons and
Christopher F Chabris 1999 Gorillas in our midst study. Their aim was to study the psychology of
vision, doing so by creating four 75 seconds films involving two team of 3 players, one team
wearing white tops and the other wearing black, moving around passing 2 balls continuously. Two
conditions were used; after 44 48 s either a woman holding an umbrella would appear in the film
or a woman in a gorilla costume would appear. Participants were asked to watch and observe the
videos and monitor the balls being passed back and forth. At the end of the study they were then
questioned about the 2 conditions and what they saw. The study s findings supported the idea of
inattentional blindness for dynamic events.
To test this hypothesis, an experiment was carried out to investigate inattentional blindness in a
different setting using a similar method. A person dressed as a white mummy was used in lieu of a
gorilla. It was predicted that more participants would report seeing the mummy in the visually
similar condition (the white tops) rather than the visually different condition (the black

This is different to keep in repair. To keep in a tenantable condition to do what you should want
someone else to do (being a good tenant). The repairing covenant may go further than simply
repair; there are also express obligations to repair and renew, to carry out structural repairs, and to
rebuild or replace, depending on the terms of the lease. Fair wear and tear of the property is
usually accepted without having an onerous repairing obligation by excluding the tenants from
the responsibility of making good the ravages of time . A defence is available if the tenant can
show that the use of the premises was reasonable; Manchester Bonded Warehouse v Carr 1980
The liability to repair occurs as soon as there is disrepair. If, however the specified party is
unaware of the disrepair, the liability falls when the party has been served a notice informing of
the disrepair (landlord to tenant or tenant to landlord). Once the party is notified (thus aware)
then this is when the liability of repair falls, however a reasonable time limit is given in order to
restore the disrepair. There is also an obligation to repair formed when entering a lease. There is
a general standard of repair which takes in to consideration the property itself, the locality, state of
premises before. This is reflected in the ruling of Proudfoot v Hart 1890; it was ruled what was
acceptable in Grosvenor Square and that which would

Love, in Dante s view, is the force behind all human action (Musa, p. 112). Similarly, Augustine
believes that love is the path to happiness, stating, What was it that delighted me? Only loving and
being loved (Augustine, 2, p. 62). In Dante s Divine Comedy: Purgatory, Dante tells the story of a
pilgrim traveling through the seven terraces in Purgatory. On his journey, the pilgrim learns the
consequences of loving even good things too much. In particular, the last three terraces of
Purgatory that he visits demonstrate the dangers of loving good things with excessive zeal (Dante,
17.96). In Augustine s Confessions, he converses with God describing his journey from being

When Dante sees the fire that engulfs the seventh terrance leaving only a narrow path to walk he
becomes terrified, since there was the fire, and here I could fall off (Dante, 25.116 117). The
fact that there it is so easy to fall off of this narrow path symbolizes that most people do fall into
the sin of lust, and very few are able to stay on the narrow path of not falling into this sin.
Through this book, Dante has been making this journey to finally see his lover, Beatrice, who
died several years ago. Although Beatrice symbolizes faith, she also is the object of Dante s lust.
When Dante finally sees Beatrice, he senses Signs of the ancient flame (Dante, 30.48). This
flame represents the lust he had for Beatrice. Even though, Dante has passed the seven terraces
he still does not fully love God. Dante gave mind and eye to satisfying her, over satisfying God
(Dante, 32.108), and his attention is solely fixed on Beatrice who reigned completely in [his]

Best Budz Headphones are the Best
Millions of people use headphones every day. With a variety of uses, whether it s listening to
music, talking on the phone, or working out, headphones have become almost a necessity in
everyday America. One aspect that we believe hinders headphones that are currently being sold
today is the fact that they are all attached to a chord. Until recently, there was no such product that
has come out with cordless headphones. This is where our product comes in. Our product, Best
Budz, will be the first of its kind wireless headphones. We have created a headphone that is
seemingly the same size as the apple headphones, without the cord attached to them. We are
trying to use simplicity at its finest. The headphones will be magnetic and that way the
consumer will be less prone to losing the ear buds. We have also come up with a solution for
when a headphone does indeed go missing. We have installed a device into the ear buds to let
the consumer know when a headphone is farther than three feet apart from the other. When this
happens, the headphones will start to beep and vibrate to ensure the consumer can locate the
missing earpiece. We want to clarify any concerns that come with small Ear Buds being
wireless, especially the question of where do I put the headphones when they are currently not
being used. This is where a use of a tie in product will come into play. We have created a new case
that will be sold for major types of wireless phones, such as the iPhone and any other smart

Chaco Canyon Essay
Chaco Canyon hi my name is Andres answer my quest New Mexico I went to Chaco Canyon
Chaco Canyon is a historical site that is often forgotten but is still an amazing place to know about.
What was the history, the culture and why did the Chacoans build such immense structures that
were not occupied year round.
The Chacoans were a civilization that lasted from the 800s to the 1100s and were living across
New Mexico. They were an agricultural society that their main food source were the three sisters,
corn, beans, and squash. They also supplemented their diet with any animals they could catch.
In the late 800s Pueblo Bonito, Una Vida, and PeГ±asco Blanco were constructed, followed by
Hungo Pavi, Chetro Ketl, Pueblo Alto, and others. By 1050, Chaco had become the ceremonial,
administrative, and economic center ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was important because it told the Chacoans when to plant their crops and harvest them.
Other archaeologists think that the great houses were a center for trade due to the fact that they
found items from as far as Central America such as parrot feathers and abalone which is a type of
shell.
The puzzling thing is that there is not a lot of organic waste in the refuse piles which means that
the Native Americans that we were living there we re not there all the time.
we still do not know why the ancestral puebloans left Chaco Canyon and we probably never know
for sure. But it is still a place that many should visit at least once in their life.
my sources were the Chaco Canyon movie and the National Park Service website (https:/
/www.nps.gov/chcu/index.htm)
I chose this site because I thought it would be easier due to the fact that we watch that movie and I
already had previous knowledge. Also I thought you would really be amazing to see these
structures or at least what remains of

The Politics Of The Slave Trade
The Politics of the Slave Trade: Art Engaging Eighteenth Century Audiences with the Abolitionist
Movement
Ella Ottaviano
The rise of the abolitionist movement in the late eighteenth century, created a platform for artworks
to be used as arguments for the abolition of slavery. Artworks during the Enlightenment employed a
variety of visual techniques to emotionally engage their audiences with the politics of the slave
trade and to elicit a sympathetic response from the viewer towards African slaves, strengthening the
abolitionist argument.
John Raphael Smith s mezzotint (after George Morland), Execrable human traffic, or The Slave
Trade engages audiences with the abolitionist argument through it s representation of the African
slaves as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1787, the Society for Effecting the Abolition of the Slave Trade was founded in London and by
the late 1780 s petitions critiquing the slave trade were widely circulating throughout Britain. The
growing support for the abolition of slave trade paralleled the rise in frequency of images of
aversion towards slavery in art.
This growing sentiment was primarily influenced new enlightenment philosophy and development
of rational thought towards a defence of modern human rights cultivated by philosophers who
influenced the public ideas of morality.
Through it s broad dissemination and unabashed appeal to the emotions, John Raphael Smith s
mezzotint (after George Morland), Execrable human traffic, or The Slave Trade, (Fig. 2)
engaged with an extensive audience and attracted many more people to the side of the
abolitionists. The artwork illustrates the violent abduction and separation of an African family by
European slavers. The artwork depicts a tropical, seaside scene in which black man is being
restrained by two white slave traders, he looks longingly towards his wife and child, who are being
led away.
The picture plane is shallow, with sparse detail or information occurring in the background, pushing
forward the scene of the abduction and drawing the violence and emotion of the people to the
forefront of the viewer. The salient point in the image is created through the light falling on the
white captors and the black man positioned

Red Leaves By Brahmachari Analysis
Red Leaves by Sita Brahmachari should be explored and understood by IBMYP students because
it provides the reader with a deeper understanding of one of the global contexts, personal and
cultural expression. It highlights the struggles and perspectives of the people dealing with child
abuse, divorce and foster care who resort to expressing themselves to get through difficult times in
their lives. Zak, Aisha and Iona, the main characters, in an unlikely turn of events become friends
when they escape from their own problems and end up living in an air raid shelter together. This

My Position As A First Year Composition Student
I am in a unique position as a First year Composition student in his mid thirties: I have a vast
amount I would like to say about myself and the world, yet I lack the technical and rhetorical
prowess to express myself efficiently. So, while I may have a lot to say, I don t have the skills
necessary to say much of anything. At least, this was my position in August of this year, at the start
of the semester and at my introduction to college level writing.
For as long as I can remember, I have always been a big proponent of the written word. I have been
a lover of books and writing for my entire life, and learned the Dos and Don ts of writing through
my exposure to books. Which is to say, I might be a damn good reader, but good

But I was still by no means an
expert in rhetoric. Ten years later, despite a decade of professional, full time employment as a
technical writer, I am still severely lacking in any real rhetorical or literary expertise. At the start of
this semester, I could not differentiate between simple and complex sentences, nor explain a
transitive vs. intransitive verb, nor did I understand any but the most simplistic rhetorical devices.
In other words, I lacked the rhetoric of rhetoric.
Consider this: you bring your vehicle to an auto mechanic to resolve an issue, and you are
attempting to explain in mutually understood terms where the problem lies. The mechanic may
have the most advanced knowledge possible in his or her field. He or she will be able to
diagnose your issue using expensive, specialized equipment, and be able to draw upon years of
experience to do so. Yet, as the owner of the vehicle, and someone with no technical knowledge in
this field, it is still up to you to attempt to explain to the mechanic where to start looking for the
problem.
It makes a noise when I turn left, you might say.
What kind of noise? the mechanic asks, Like a grinding noise? A bumping or knocking sound?
You re at a loss, but stammer out, It kind of goes, Whirl whirl whirl whiiiiirl, and makes a grinding
sound, then goes away once I straighten out the steering wheel.

The Valence Theory Of Adaptation In The UK
On 18 September 2014, voters in Scotland rejected proposals for Scotland to become an

(Lundberg, 2016: 238) The 2014 independence referendum had unprecedented levels of political
engagement, (Mann and Fenton, 2017: 156) and a very high voter turnout of 84.6%, the highest
turnout in a UK election since the 1910 general election, which was held before the expansion of
the franchise in 1918, when less men and no women had the right to vote. (Jeavens, 2014)
Throughout the referendum campaign, there was a shift in support towards Scottish

38% of the vote at the start of 2012; (BBC, 2012) starting the campaign polling at under 40% of
the vote and finishing the campaign on 45% of the vote. (What Scotland Thinks, 2014) This shift

Sadly though, both tattoos having withered over time, were now nothing more than a couple of
large green blotches, barely recognizable. Lovienthal splashed a couple of handfuls of water onto

field of biological sciences, and pass the Dental Admission Test (DAT) in order to be admitted into
dental school. After graduating dental school and passing the National Board Dental Examinations,
a written and clinical examination, one can get licensed through your State Board of Dentistry.

Certification Examination which, again, consists of written and clinical examinations. Once one

Excessive Amount Of Asphaltene Deposition Essay
An excessive amount of asphaltene deposition may result in a severe formation damage and
sometimes blocking the flow path as seen in Figure 6c. Therefore, the injected solvent cannot
further diffuse deep into the matrix (due severe to asphaltene deposition) and eventually causes
injectivity problem. In this study, C5 injection resulted in the high amount of asphaltene deposition
in porous media (11.4 % per Figure 7) and it could block the main flow path, the fracture (as seen in
Figure 6c). The pressure profiles of C5 injection shown in Figure 8 can also explain the formation
damage caused by severe asphaltene deposition. At early time stage of solvent injection, solvent
mainly diffuses into the oil within the fracture path (while diffusing into the matrix as well) and
recovered most of the oil in this area (up to 80 minutes in Figure 8). Thereafter, the solvent is
occupied the whole fracture and due to the concentration gradient between the solvent and matrix s
oil, the solvent diffused into the matrix, dilute the oil by precipitation and deposition of asphaltene.
Continuing solvent injection resulted in more asphaltene deposition in the matrix and especially
fracture matrix interface (where the highest concentration gradient is) that eventually cause the
formation damage and reduce the injectivity. This can be seen in Figure 7 from time 90 minutes to
280 minutes where the injection pressure increased until the time that was no injection at all (after
about 280 minutes).

It seems that no one really understands us. By us I mean the people who live every day in fear of

Personal Counseling Characteristics
My Personal Counseling Characteristics Capuzzi, Stauffer, and Gross (2016) highlighted the
existence of core conditions identified throughout the counseling literature and research as an
essential piece of the therapeutic relationship (p. 8). Possessing and demonstrating these
characteristics and behaviors strengthen the helping alliance and aid in effectiveness as a counselor
when guiding the client to achieve optimal wellness (Capuzzi et al., 2016). The following narrative
outlines characteristics and behaviors emphasized as strengths necessary when developing a
therapeutic alliance with a client and those acknowledged as potential challenges or weaknesses
hindering the development of a therapeutic alliance. Additionally, explanations are discussed for
selected strengths and challenges as well as strategies to address challenges and weaknesses.
An Area of Strength Warmth as a core concept essential to the helping relationship is regarded as
the counselor s ability to convey genuine caring and concern to clients (Capuzzi et al., 2016, p. 11).
Without this ability to convey warmth as a counselor, the counseling process will not be effective,
especially as I believe warmth is essential to building rapport and promoting an environment in
which clients feel comfortable disclosing intimate details of their lives. After all, a client may be
more reluctant to disclose intimate aspects of their life if they believe that the individual to which
they are disclosing does not

  • 2. Comparing Leadership In The First Avenger And Iron Man Leadership skills are an essential element to the development of effective leaders. Some leaders have natural abilities while others are thrust into a position of leadership and develop on the way. Ultimately I believe great leadership skills are derived from values, beliefs and skills in relaying those values and beliefs to the people around them. With effort we can all develop the key elements to ultimately motivate and effectively lead any team to success. In this essay I will compare and contrast two persons with very different leaderships styles and analyze their abilities to effectively lead. Steve Rogers is the main character of the movie The First Avenger and is great contrast to Tony Stark of the movie Iron Man . Both have very different backgrounds, values and beliefs which ultimately translate to the people around them as they are both chosen to lead. This compare and contrast will also span a series of six movies in order to track the development of these characters as they mature and experience difficult challenges in the eyes of their team. The First Avenger The First Avenger takes place during WWII. Steve Rogers is a young scrawny kid who is convinced it is his duty and responsibility to fight in the war. Unfortunately, Steve suffers from a host of ailments and is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. The Effects Of False Beauty From Photoshop The Effects of False Beauty from Photoshop Everywhere women look, all we see is a form of false beauty within the media that surrounds us on an everyday basis. When we look at women in magazines, beauty advertisements, television commercials and more we see beautiful big eyes, luscious full lips, soft, wrinkle free, poreless skin, and that intriguing radiant glow that every photo seems to have. How about the curves of the womans body, the shape and perfect placement of their breasts, and how every inch of their figure is always in the shape and size that we personally wish to be at; how everything about these women seem to be well... perfect in every way. Women start out young admiring the beauty that these women hold in media and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So, if you think about how much you wanted to impress the boy you had a crush on when you were going to school; you would style your hair nice and pretty making sure that every strand was in its right place, take an hour or more to do your makeup just to try to resemble a beauty that you saw somewhere, and lastly you would pick out that perfect outfit, making sure to look in the mirror ten times before you left the house. You did all of this just to impress a boy and in some cases the boy you liked still did not notice you. This triggers sentiments and emotions in your head that can resemble you thinking that you are not good enough or pretty enough for this boy, which brings your self esteem down and causes you to start changing more and more about your appearance. Self esteem sucks honestly because one day you can feel you look beautiful and happy with yourself externally, but one moment later something can happen making you feel just the opposite. In today s world women are shown and told how they should look, what they should wear, and what they should eat to be able to achieve the beauty that is shown in women s magazine and beauty advertisements around the world. Women and men are both affected by media outlets; later in their lives they will look to be in a relationship with a woman/man that resembles these photos in magazines, but what both men and women do not understand is that every picture in these magazines are fake. • 4. Compare And Contrast West Side Story And West Side Story West Side Story is the iconic American musical that is a 1957 Broadway production choreographed by Jerome Robbins. Arthur Laurents is the author of the original book with the setting taking place in the upper west side New York city in a blue collar neighborhood during the mid 1950s. (The Broadway) Because West Side Story is a movie musical, it will be a lot of narrative conveyed through the song. The movie West Side Story and Romeo and Juliet have many similarities and differences consider their plot, their character and their setting. The major plot of the musical is about a rivalry between two different ethnic group gangs, the Sharks and Jets. The Sharks are Puerto Rican and the Jets are white. Leonard Bernstein composed the dynamic and influential music. In the mix of the conflict between the two gangs, a former member of the Jets, Tony, falls in love with the leader of the Sharks sister, Maria. Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet clearly influenced this movie, and there are parallel characteristics. For instance, Romeo and Tony, Juliet and Maria, Mercutio and Riff, Tybalt and Bernardo all have similar characteristics. As for the specific film, I decided to watch the 1961 version. 2. Film Response In the opening scene with the jets, the orchestral background music painted the picture of the jets being spontaneous and unpredictable. The music especially designed their personalities well with the random loud burst of accented notes from the brass. The mood definitely changes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I am going to share 3 essential, important, questions about horses that I think you should know. Did horses evolve from a different animal? About 55 million years ago the horse we know now was a small animal standing 2 feet tall. The earliest horse had pointed teeth which shows that it might have eaten meat. As you know the horse nowadays doesn t have toes. A long time ago horses had toes. The skull of the earliest horse looks like a fox s skull with back teeth. How were horses used in the past and used how are they used now? For centuries horses have been used to clear forests, plow land, and herd cattle. A long time time ago horses ... • 6. Same Sex Marriage Debate Over The Free Speech Clause And... Judging from this article from Wall Street Journal, the major conflict that exists in this same sex marriage legalization debate is between the free speech clause and antidiscrimination law. Technically, the people who refused to offer their service to the homosexual people based on their religious belief were not legally wrong according to the first amendment. However, did the homosexual couples do anything wrong? No, they didn t. They ordered the same services, and they were willing to pay the same amount of money. What they wanted was nothing illegal. Then here comes the dilemma, how can neither of them be wrong in a conflict? So, this paper will analyze the rightness and the wrongness in an ethical dilemma between civil rights... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For Kantian ethics, the standard is based on if most people are acting the same way. Even though some people are still struggling on whether they should support the LGBT community, the statistics give us a clear trend of people s change of their perspective on same sex marriage. According to the national polling data, the number of people who support the same sex marriage had risen from 37 percent in 2005 to 60 percent in 2015. Apparently, with the development of the modern society, more and more people are becoming open minded and willing to show their support to the LGBT community. Moreover, while some religious people against the same sex marriage, some of them choose to support it due to the different interpretation of the bible they are holding. Jesus never said a single word about gays or lesbians or same sex marriage, or any of the other social issues that so many people seem to be possessed with fighting today , said Ducan(n.d),a Christian. Since the number of supporting the legalization of same sex marriage has an increasing tendency, in this instance, same sex marriage can be defined morally right standing on the popular belief. For the principle of Rights, whether a business decision is defined ethical depends on how it affects the rights of stakeholders, including owners, consumers, employees, the community and the society. • 8. Essay On Asylum In Russia Throughout history, Russians have left their homeland to apply for asylum in other countries. A large number of Russians came to the US to apply for asylum during the 1980s and the 1990s because of all the problems occurring in the Soviet Union and the freedom that the US offered. The main issues that took place in Russia included Jewish persecution and pogroms. Although they endured a tough life in their homeland, Russians came to the US with hopes of being granted asylum. Luckily, many Russians were granted asylum, so they could live a free, successful life in the US. The main reason why Russians have left their homeland was because of Jewish persecution. During the 1980s and the 1990s, the Jewish religion was forbidden to be practiced in the Soviet Union, along with a few other religions. Russia consists of one of the world s largest Jewish communities, so many Jews living in Russia were discriminated against and faced prejudice. Also, Jewish communities, businesses, and synagogues were either destroyed, burned down, or vandalized. Jews didn t feel safe in Russia due to all of the pogroms occurring. • 11. The Meaning Of Coming Of Age Essay The statement coming of age means to me that you are given more responsibility to do different things, you are expected to be more mature and more trust is handed to you. These are just a few of the things that are expected of you when you are coming of age because you are getting closer to being a responsible, mature and trustworthy adult. The reason that I think you are given more responsibility when you are coming of age is because you are getting older and about ready to move out of the house, and when you do there won t be any excuses for not doing things that you are supposed to do because it s on you for not doing what you are supposed to do. • 13. The Concept Of Incentives And The Way Of Which Humans... Sandel next adresses the concept of incentives and the way in which humans respond to them. Individuals act in order to maximize their own welfare and therefore respond things that allow them to do so; these things are known as incentives. Sandel provides us with the example of students who where offered financial incentive to do better in school. However the reaction to the incentives differed from the standard economic model. While paying students who passed AP exams did increase over all success, the results indicated that the amount of money payed made no difference in the amount of achievement. While the did serve its purpose as an incentive, the money did not act as a bribe but rather as an agent that changed the stigma associated with AP testing making it cool for students to do. While there do exist benefits to offering incentives, there also exists ramification known as perverse incentives. The notion of perverse incentives deals with the idea that by placing a market price on a certain act, the meaning of the act itself may become blurred. Sandel offers the example of fine Vs. fees where parents would come late to pick up their children from day care and treat the fine for coming late as a fee for extended service. By placing a market value on the extended time care takers had to work, parents no longer felt guilty about leaving their child later till later hours and therefore eroding the original purpose of the fine. • 14. Hunger Games Themes The Hunger Games is a popular film based on the trilogy of books written by Suzanne Collins. The story takes place in the nation of Panem. Each year, one male and one female from each of the twelve districts must participate in the hunger games contest. The participants are between the ages of twelve and eighteen. These twenty four contestants must fight until only one contestant remains alive. This contestant would then be crowned the winner. The annual hunger games were considered punishment for rebelling against the government in the past. Although this movie was created mostly for entertainment purposes, it contains many themes that Americans can relate to. The Republic of Gilead is the fictional country which Margaret Atwood chose as the setting for her dystopian novel, The Handmaid s Tale. We can infer from the first chapter that Gilead is within the borders of the USA from the fact that old blankets still said US: this hints that some sort of major catastrophe has occurred before the time of the novel to change this. The different uniforms worn within Gilead are another example of the state using the power they have to control their citizens. All women in the Republic are defined by the colour of their uniforms. These uniforms remove all individuality from particularly the submissive women, as well as camouflaging all signs of shape and figure. Gilead sees women s sexuality as dangerous, which is why the uniforms they have prescribed are so concealing and unflattering. When Offred walks by the young Guardians, she moves her hips when she senses them watching her, and then states her hope that they get hard as a result of her doing this. This shows how she feels that her ability to inspire sexual attraction, despite her uniform is the only power she herself retains. Fear is obviously used in Gilead as the main form of control, made clear by the fact that there are men with machine guns in the pillboxes on either side of road this indicates how strict the rules within the country are, and how severe the consequences are if you break them. The Guardians sexual desire is controlled by the idea of the floodlights going on, the rifle shots which illustrates the extent of the power the state has over them they have not yet earned the right to a women, therefore would be totally sex starved as masturbation is a sin and porn is forbidden. Total adjustment: based on these two changes results shows that INSEAD incurs additional expense of ВЈ58 m. However, due to the larger class size, this cost gets spread across a larger student base. As a result, when LBS s total cost is normalized to assume the same student volume as that of INSEAD, LBS s total adjusted cost can be estimated to be ВЈ77 m or 42% greater than that of INSEAD. In summary, the lower price per year at LBS cannot be explained due to potential differences in cost, as the adjusted cost of offering the MBA program at LBS is an estimated 42% greater than that offered at INSEAD. Implications Of Wildlife In Wildlife Wildlife Introduction Purpose I would like to briefly summarize why wildlife is important and I m examining this because it s truly important that we as people recognize that wildlife plays a big role in how we live. Problem Nature is losing its wildlife! The loss can be attributed to two main causes. The first cause is human interaction. Humans are having too much interference in nature. According to the World Wide Federation (2017), the forests, swamps, plains, and lakes are being destroyed to make room for roads, pipelines, and industrial development. These areas serve as the natural habitat for our wildlife. Without a home, these animals are dying off at record numbers and becoming extinct. According to Morris (2003), Humans are also killing the animals for food and this choice also destroys the natural habitat. Many humans are making the choice to catch fish faster than the oceans can restock. When people choose to destroy these animal s homes, it has a negative effect on the food chain. When one sees the impact of human interaction on the natural habitat, society must realize that they have a responsibility to do something because our future as a species on this planet is in jeopardy. Procedures/Methodology The raw data that was collected was 20 random people. You can find the collection on the next page. I used the stratified sampling method. The cold war era creates a world of suspicion and secrecy that ties directly to the plot, while the summer setting gives the Jackal an opportune chance to complete his assassination plans. The Jewish Community Of Today The Jewish community of today believe that the Pharisees of Jesus time have transformed into a group called rabbinic Judaism after the destruction of the temple in 70 C.E. They are believed to be the Rabbi s of today, and are living proof, that they all were not against Jesus. Today, all major branches of Judaismclaim at least some affinity with rabbinic Judaism of centuries gone by, and perceive Judaism as issuing not simply from the Hebrew Bible but also from the interpretation of those Scriptures by the Pharisees and their successors, the rabbis (Cook, M. J. p. 441). With this in mind, it is believed that we can get a better understanding of the Pharisees and Scribes of when Jesus walked the earth. By using the Gospels and the rabbinic writings one could get a clear picture of this group according to Dr. Cook. There is one account in the Gospel of John were one Pharisee questions Jesus and is trying to understand who Jesus is and what message is he bringing them. Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him (John 3:1 2). In both cases, the model implies that the universe is expanding into some larger, pre existing volume. In fact, the theory says nothing like that. Instead, the expansion of the universe is completely self contained. People often have difficulty with the idea that space itself expands . An easier way to understand this concept is to think of it as the distance between any two points in the universe increasing. First, the distance between A and B is a function of time and second, the distance is always increasing. To really understand what this means and how one would define distance in such a model, it is necessary to have some idea of what Einstein s theory of General Relativity (GR) is about: Space tells matter how to move, matter tells space how to curve. Another way of describing GR would be something like: Energy determines the geometry and changes in the geometry of the universe, and, in turn, the geometry determines the movement of energy . So, given this, how does one get BBT from GR? The basic equations come directly from Einstein s GR equation under two key assumptions: First, that the distribution of matter and energy in the universe is homogeneous and, second, that the distribution is isotropic. A simpler way to put this is that the universe looks the same everywhere and in every direction = cosmological principle. If we adopt these simple assumptions, the implications for the geometry of the universe are quite profound. First, one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To reverse this scenario, community forestrybecame a popular approach in the 1970s as a modern policy and practice (Baker and Kusel, 2003). This phenomenon brings about the theory of inattentional blindness; that we sometimes miss opportunities or events because we are focusing on something else. The concept rose from Harvard psychologists Daniel J Simons and Christopher F Chabris 1999 Gorillas in our midst study. Their aim was to study the psychology of vision, doing so by creating four 75 seconds films involving two team of 3 players, one team wearing white tops and the other wearing black, moving around passing 2 balls continuously. Two conditions were used; after 44 48 s either a woman holding an umbrella would appear in the film or a woman in a gorilla costume would appear. Participants were asked to watch and observe the videos and monitor the balls being passed back and forth. At the end of the study they were then questioned about the 2 conditions and what they saw. The study s findings supported the idea of inattentional blindness for dynamic events. To test this hypothesis, an experiment was carried out to investigate inattentional blindness in a different setting using a similar method. A person dressed as a white mummy was used in lieu of a gorilla. It was predicted that more participants would report seeing the mummy in the visually similar condition (the white tops) rather than the visually different condition (the black ... A defence is available if the tenant can show that the use of the premises was reasonable; Manchester Bonded Warehouse v Carr 1980 The liability to repair occurs as soon as there is disrepair. If, however the specified party is unaware of the disrepair, the liability falls when the party has been served a notice informing of the disrepair (landlord to tenant or tenant to landlord). Once the party is notified (thus aware) then this is when the liability of repair falls, however a reasonable time limit is given in order to restore the disrepair. There is also an obligation to repair formed when entering a lease. There is a general standard of repair which takes in to consideration the property itself, the locality, state of premises before. This is reflected in the ruling of Proudfoot v Hart 1890; it was ruled what was acceptable in Grosvenor Square and that which would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Similarly, Augustine believes that love is the path to happiness, stating, What was it that delighted me? Only loving and being loved (Augustine, 2, p. 62). In Dante s Divine Comedy: Purgatory, Dante tells the story of a pilgrim traveling through the seven terraces in Purgatory. On his journey, the pilgrim learns the consequences of loving even good things too much. In particular, the last three terraces of Purgatory that he visits demonstrate the dangers of loving good things with excessive zeal (Dante, 17.96). The fact that there it is so easy to fall off of this narrow path symbolizes that most people do fall into the sin of lust, and very few are able to stay on the narrow path of not falling into this sin. Through this book, Dante has been making this journey to finally see his lover, Beatrice, who died several years ago. Although Beatrice symbolizes faith, she also is the object of Dante s lust. When Dante finally sees Beatrice, he senses Signs of the ancient flame (Dante, 30.48). This flame represents the lust he had for Beatrice. Even though, Dante has passed the seven terraces he still does not fully love God. Dante gave mind and eye to satisfying her, over satisfying God (Dante, 32.108), and his attention is solely fixed on Beatrice who reigned completely in [his] mind (Dante, 32.93). • 35. Best Budz Headphones are the Best Millions of people use headphones every day. With a variety of uses, whether it s listening to music, talking on the phone, or working out, headphones have become almost a necessity in everyday America. One aspect that we believe hinders headphones that are currently being sold today is the fact that they are all attached to a chord. Until recently, there was no such product that has come out with cordless headphones. This is where our product comes in. Our product, Best Budz, will be the first of its kind wireless headphones. We have created a headphone that is seemingly the same size as the apple headphones, without the cord attached to them. We are trying to use simplicity at its finest. The headphones will be magnetic and that way the consumer will be less prone to losing the ear buds. We have also come up with a solution for when a headphone does indeed go missing. We have installed a device into the ear buds to let the consumer know when a headphone is farther than three feet apart from the other. When this happens, the headphones will start to beep and vibrate to ensure the consumer can locate the missing earpiece. We want to clarify any concerns that come with small Ear Buds being wireless, especially the question of where do I put the headphones when they are currently not being used. This is where a use of a tie in product will come into play. We have created a new case that will be sold for major types of wireless phones, such as the iPhone and any other smart ... • 49. Excessive Amount Of Asphaltene Deposition Essay An excessive amount of asphaltene deposition may result in a severe formation damage and sometimes blocking the flow path as seen in Figure 6c. Therefore, the injected solvent cannot further diffuse deep into the matrix (due severe to asphaltene deposition) and eventually causes injectivity problem. In this study, C5 injection resulted in the high amount of asphaltene deposition in porous media (11.4 % per Figure 7) and it could block the main flow path, the fracture (as seen in Figure 6c). The pressure profiles of C5 injection shown in Figure 8 can also explain the formation damage caused by severe asphaltene deposition. At early time stage of solvent injection, solvent mainly diffuses into the oil within the fracture path (while diffusing into the matrix as well) and recovered most of the oil in this area (up to 80 minutes in Figure 8). Thereafter, the solvent is occupied the whole fracture and due to the concentration gradient between the solvent and matrix s oil, the solvent diffused into the matrix, dilute the oil by precipitation and deposition of asphaltene. Continuing solvent injection resulted in more asphaltene deposition in the matrix and especially fracture matrix interface (where the highest concentration gradient is) that eventually cause the formation damage and reduce the injectivity. This can be seen in Figure 7 from time 90 minutes to 280 minutes where the injection pressure increased until the time that was no injection at all (after about 280 minutes). ... East Lincoln Middle School Speech Kendall Getten 12 2370 Nautical Ct Denver NC 704 657 4600 Prose 68 kendallgetten@gmail.com East Lincoln Middle School It seems that no one really understands us. By us I mean the people who live every day in fear of starving or freezing to death. People walk past us on the streets and comment on how sick we look, but they do nothing to help! They think that if they give us money we will just spend it on alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs. They don t understand that we are scared, scared of dying, and scared of having nothing to live for. I was able to continue the stealing for about a month before i got caught. The day i got caught I had decided to try taking some money out of the cash register as well as the oranges. I waited for the man to leave to run over and take the money. It would have worked if the man had not walked back the second i closed the register. He walked over to me and told me to stand against the wall with my hands behind my back. I begged him not to call the police, but begging did nothing. The shopkeeper then proceeded to call the local ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 54. Personal Counseling Characteristics My Personal Counseling Characteristics Capuzzi, Stauffer, and Gross (2016) highlighted the existence of core conditions identified throughout the counseling literature and research as an essential piece of the therapeutic relationship (p. 8). Possessing and demonstrating these characteristics and behaviors strengthen the helping alliance and aid in effectiveness as a counselor when guiding the client to achieve optimal wellness (Capuzzi et al., 2016). The following narrative outlines characteristics and behaviors emphasized as strengths necessary when developing a therapeutic alliance with a client and those acknowledged as potential challenges or weaknesses hindering the development of a therapeutic alliance. Additionally, explanations are discussed for selected strengths and challenges as well as strategies to address challenges and weaknesses. An Area of Strength Warmth as a core concept essential to the helping relationship is regarded as the counselor s ability to convey genuine caring and concern to clients (Capuzzi et al., 2016, p. 11). Without this ability to convey warmth as a counselor, the counseling process will not be effective, especially as I believe warmth is essential to building rapport and promoting an environment in which clients feel comfortable disclosing intimate details of their lives. After all, a client may be more reluctant to disclose intimate aspects of their life if they believe that the individual to which they are disclosing does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 56. Offred And Celie In The Handmaid s Tale By Margaret Atwood The characters of Offred and Celie have both been oppressed during different stages of their life. Offred, from the Handmade s tale, experienced life before before being heavily oppressed by the society of Gilead. At the start of the novel Offred predominantly is passive to her oppression but there is a hint of wanting to rebel against it., A chair, a table, a lamp. Above, on the white ceiling, a relief ornament in the shape of a wreath, and in the centre of it a blank space, plastered over it, like a place in a face where the eye has been taken out. Offred is describing her bedroom and is cherishing the objects that she has around her. This could be seen as her missing the past and the little things that she used to have before Gilead took... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She knows that the society she lives in is wrong, if she was completely passive towards her oppression then she wouldn t appreciate the small aspects of freedom she has. Offred s narrative is simplistic through the use of asyndetic listing, she later goes on to say thinking can hurt your chances, and I intend to last . This shows that Offred has determination to live through the society of Gilead. The use of asyndetic listing implies endlessness as there is no and to finalise it, offred uses syndetic listing and finalises her thoughts which could suggest that her oppression is final and she won t tolerate it anymore. On the other hand her narrative is simplistic with could also suggest that this could be because she doesn t want to think too much about her past life, as it could lead to her going insane due to how much she s been brainwashed. Ofred hasn t been brainwashed by choice, so technically she isn t passive towards her oppression. This could be Atwood imputing her own opinions of society, that women are oppressed to the point where they re no longer able to realise that they re in an oppressive ...
