The samples were then dried properly to remove the trace of remaining solvent. The extracts
were subjected for vacuum drying in rotary evaporator. The free radical scavenging activity of
seed extracts of A. nigra were determined using DPPH whereby solution of DPPH in 99.99%
ethanol was prepared and was mixed with ethanolic solutions of n hexane, ethyl acetate and
methanol extracts from A. nigra seeds at determined concentrations. The mixture was shaken and
incubated. Butylated hydroxyl toluene (BHT) as positive reference ethanol as negative
reference were used. The absorbance was measured using multimode microplate reader. Each
sample extract were mixed with dry KBr powders and their absorption spectra were obtained
with a Perkin Elmer FTIR spectrophotometer. The 1H spectra were recorded on a Varian 400

spectral calibration. Total soluble phenolic compound content from three different dilutions of A.
nigra seed extracts were estimated according to the Folin Ciocalteu colorimetric assay, using gallic
acid as standard and the absorbance was finally measured. To generate the standard curve, different
concentrations of gallic acid were used. Quantification of totall soluble phenolics in each extracts

Favelas are where approximately 11.4 of the 190 million of Brazils population resides. Favelas
are typically built when squatters (a person who unlawfully occupies an uninhabited building or
unused land) occupy vacant land at the edge of a city and construct shacks of salvaged or stolen
materials. These areas are known to be areas with crime and extreme poverty; the people who live
there are socially outcasted and are usually ignored by upper class citizens. These areas are home to
the people who cannot afford to live in cities like Rio de Jainero or SГЈo Paolo, because of the

Patience Analysis
What is patience? Patience means the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering
without getting upset or angry. My sister, Natalie, and I had a normal relationship we fight like
every other pair of siblings do. We normally have very small, stupid fights over things that do not
matter. For some reason that day I did not have any patience at all and then it all happened. On a
beautiful, hot day in August 2011, my grandfather, father, mother, brother, sister, and I all began
our day of work. Natalie and I had been in argument over who got to sit in the good chair in the
rusty corn building next to the grain bins. As I got angrier, I began to walk out the window pane
door suddenly my eyes filled with tears. I looked down and saw the gushing blood but I did not feel
any pain. After I saw the blood I let out a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How and to What Extent Did War and Violence Contribute to...
How and to what extent did war and violence contribute to the definition of chivalry as both an
historical and social phenomenon?
It is largely acknowledged by historians that, while it is difficult to be definitive in the meaning
of chivalry with Maurice Keen believing it to be a word elusive of definition it came to denote
the culture of a martial estate which regarded war as its hereditary profession . Thus, it could be
considered that the violence of war had large implications on what people began to perceive to be
chivalry. Additionally, the focus on violence such as the participating in tournaments and jousts
further emphasises the close link between carrying out violent acts and the idea that a knight was
being chivalrous. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The historian Richard Kaeuper notes that prowess being crucial to honor may have contributed
as much to the problem of violence as it provided a solution . Therefore, this appears to convey
why the concept of chivalry began to be associated with violence and warfare as knights, in the
pursuit of honor, became reliant on violence and battle to prove their aptitude. This idea is
supported by a medieval knight Sir John Chandos, who stated that men brought up for martial
calling cannot live without war and do not know how to . Maurice Keen argues that chivalry was
quintessentially bellicose as it presented those who fought has having a pinnacle of honor . As a
result, the use of force by knights as a way of denoting their gallantry led to the belief that violence
was intrinsic to the notion of chivalry.
Furthermore, within the medieval period there was the development of certain traditions and
rewards associated with the concept of chivalry. The partaking in tournaments and jousting is
argued by Keen to have been a step on the scale of chivalrous perfection . In these activities acts
of violence were glorified and those who were successful were rewarded, thus endorsing and
entrenching the belief that violence and success in war were the main premises on which chivalry
was based. The extent to which violence contributed to what came to define chivalry is

Free Throws
In the beginning, we often see tasks as not having meaning or being a waste of our time. We
won t realize that these tasks will help us later in life in valuable moments in our life. I
remember as a young child learning the ropes of how to play my favorite sport basketball. My
father and I would drill around, and i d learn to shoot by B.E.E.F (Balance, eyes, elbows in, and
follow through), but one tasked seemed to be unimportant to me and that was free throws. I
couldn t understand why we had to practice free throws so often and so much. I didn t learn until
later in life how important it was to have the skill of shooting free throws. While I was young free

Playing against the Buffalo Bison we the freshman Warriors had not played well. Throughout
the game shots had not dropped for us and we struggled in a close game. None the less, we
continued to play physical on both ends of the court. Fouls were called in bunches on both ends
of the court, on both us and the Bison. The difference in us the Warriors and the Bison was that
was shot free throws exceptionally well compared to the Bison. In the end, the game ended with
us the Warriors only have three players on the court, while the Bison had five players left. Even
down players we had gained a lead where there was no way we could lose. During this game i shot
twelve free throws and only missed one, i shot at over ninety percent helping lead our team to a
victory. This is when i realized how important free throws are to a game of basketball. The amount
of free throws you shot and make is important to any team looking for a win against any
opponent. Not till i had experience the meaning of free throws first hand i had no reason to
practice them. My father forced me to shoot them and i am thankful now, while back then they
just annoyed me. This task of shooting one hundred free throws a night seemed to be useless at a
young age, until i had was but in a position where my task lead us to victory. The task i learned
that day seemed to have no meaning to me until i had grown up.

Analysis of Harlem by Langston Hughes
Analysis of Harlem by Langston Hughes
Through the turbulent decades of the 1920 s through the 1960 s many of the black Americans went
through difficult hardships and found comfort only in dreaming. Those especially who lived in the
ghettos of Harlem would dream about a better place for them, their families, and their futures.
Langston Hughes discusses dreams and what they could do in one of his poems, Harlem. Hughes
poem begins: What happens to a dream deferred...
Hughes is asking what happens to a dream that is being put off. What do these dreams do, do
they do good, do they do bad, or do they do neither good nor bad? He continues by stating this
simile: Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Using this simile he is ... Show more content on

Hughes continues his poem by stating more on dreams that have been put off in lines four and five,
he states:
Or fester like a sore and then run?
Here , Hughes uses a sore as a simile for dreams that have been put off. He wonders if these
delayed dreams get worser and worser over time that they just disapear from the person. Hughes
continues his questioning by using another simile for postponed dreams, Does it stink like rotten
meat? Hughes is trying to convey that over a period of time a person may become so tired of the
dream that they have postponed that it would actually start to stink, they would start to hate it,
and want to get rid of it just as if someone would want to get rid of a piece of rotten meat. He
continues by using another simile for postponed dreams: Or crust and sugar like a syrupy sweet?
Here, Langston Hughes states of a dream that could be so good and so sweet, but over time the
dream has gotten old and bad just like a syrupy sweet could crust and sugar over time. Hughes
advances with another simile for defered dreams: Maybe it just sags like a heavy load Here,
Hughes states of a dream that is so huge and farfetched that it could never happen. He ends his
poem by saying, Or does it expolode?
Langston Hughes relays that deferred dreams can do many things, though they mostly do worse
than help you. He is tryng to convey that you really should not postpone your dreams don t set

The Ponzi Scheme versus the Madoff Scheme
Schneeweis Szado (2010, p.9) suggested that ffinancial fraud in general and Ponzi schemes in
particular continue to maneuver investors. A Ponzi scheme is frequently described as a securities
fraud in which the investment manager is in fact taking money from new investors to fund
redemptions from current investors. These strategies are often discovered when new investors
cannot be found to offset redemptions from current investors. The Ponzi method received its name
from Charles Ponzi, who marketed an investment based on managing the International Postal
Reply Coupons. Ponzi suggested that an arbitrage opportunity existed because he could
exchange U.S. dollars into the necessary foreign currency, and use the foreign currency to
purchase postal reply coupons. The postal reply coupons could be redeemed for U.S. postage
stamps, which could then be sold for U.S. dollars. Ponzi promoted unusually high returns to
investors when in fact he simply used the new investment to pay of the previous investors. While
the scheme soon collapsed, there are similarities between him and the Madoff scheme. For
example, Madoff sold primarily to the Jewish community and also Ponzi sold primarily to the
immigrant community of the North End of Boston, to which he belonged. Along with that, the
validity of Madoff s strategy was a subject argued by the public press (Barron s) as well as by
individuals (Markopolus) on the grounds. Comparable to Ponzi s investors, Madoff s investors,

Research Paper On Mansa Musa
Sundiata was not the only influential king of ancient Mali. Mansa Musa (1280 1337), the tenth
king of Mali and the grandson of Sundiata s half brother, made a huge impact on the Mali empire.
In 1312, Mansa Musa was elected as the emperor of Mali, becoming the civilization s first
Muslim ruler. (BlackPast). He was almost fluent in Arabic and was described as a Muslim
traditionalist (BlackPast). Mansa Musa is best known for his four thousand mile pilgrimage to
Mecca. Because he was so powerful and rich, with him on his journey, Mansa Musa brought
hundreds of slaves, artisans, and gold. On his pilgrimage, Mansa Musa gave out gold to the poor

wealth contribute to Mali becoming a site of cultural exchange and what were the effects of them
going to Mali? Because of the massive amount of gold that Mansa Musa had, he was able to create
people to construct mosques and universities. Mansas also used their wealth to build mosques and
madrassas in the cities. One of the major trade cities of Mali was Timbuktu (Ucdavis). As a result of
Mansa Musa large amount of money, he used a large portion of it to build mosques, religious

Essay on Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation
When a person plans or wants to do something, he or she has a motivation for that specific thing.
In other words, when a person does something, that person has a reason why he or she should do
that thing. Not always there is a reason to do something, but sometimes may be many reasons that
are backing a person to take those actions to do it. This happens not only to humans, or living
organisms, but also in nonliving organisms. An example is when a rock which had bounced after
it hit the floor while falling down. Scientists may tell some of the reasons why the rock does that
kind of action, but they cannot tell all of the reasons that back the rock s actions. A similar thing, as
the scientists, was Alfie Kohn trying to do in his essay, Why... Show more content on
Helpwriting.net ...
The reason is that the reward is not the main thing that is backing up the action; but something
else that could be self develop, peace, etc. An example is a boy does his homework just because
he was told by his parents to do his homework. Based on that the boy believes that his parents
know what is best for him to do.
On the other hand, extrinsic motivation is when a person takes actions knowing that at the end of
that action there is a reward waiting for him or her. In this case, the person does it not because
thinking about self development, peace, etc. but about the reward. An example could be that the
boy s mother will not let the boy watch his favorite cartoons, until he finishes his homework. That
way the boy will finish his homework just to be able to watch the cartoons, but does not care if he
fully understands the materials on which the homework was about.
Third possibility is the both type of motivations, intrinsic and extrinsic, are the reason for
someone s action. It is when the person is doing something knowing there is going to be a reward
at the end, also during that action the person will develop in skills, professionalism, etc. The
example could be taken from the essay that Kohn wrote. The reward that Kohn could have got is
being paid for writing the essay, with the main back up that the action will bring development of
experiences in writing professionally. Another example could be a man runs in a burning building
to save his neighbor s kid. That man

Similarities Between The Weary Blues And I Too
In today s society we face a lot of issues, but there is one issue that stands out to me most. Which
these two poems address, that is injustice towards other race in America. In Langston Hughes I Too
and The Weary Blues the trouble of unjust towards African Americans, weigh on the speaker s
mind. Each poem reflecting on the same issue just a little bit differently. In the poem I Too written
in 1945 the overall theme focused by Langston was discrimination towards the African American
people in the United States. We understand that the speaker in the poem is black from the first
line where it states I am the darker brother providing an imagery for the readers. Then in the
poem it says They send me to eat in the kitchen when company comes setting the tone of the
poem, meaning that the speaker is unimportant person or referring him to a slave. The reason so,
is because back in the day s slaves had to eat in the kitchen of white slave owners. The setting of

one day in the future he ll be important as the people who make him eat in the kitchen. We can

eat in the kitchen, then . At the end of the poem the speaker says Besides, they ll see how beautiful
I am and be ashamed implying that the discriminating people will one day find out that everyone
one is equal and be disappointed in their actions. As for the second the poem The Weary Blues the
theme in it is slightly different from I Too, but it has the same meaning. The theme is about how
African American expressed their opinions and communicated throughout music because they were

Germany, And The Federal Republic Of Germany
History
Germany, or the Federal Republic of Germany, was officially founded 1871 by Otto von
Bismarck. Since then, Germany has had a rich history. As a young nation looking to get more
territory, Germany fought in World War I. However, its loss in the war led to severe punishments
in the Treaty of Versailles, leading to bitterness and resentment among the German people, as well
as an economic depression. These harsh conditions helped to set the stage for Fascism in Germany.
Toppling the Weimar Republic, the Nazi party (the National Social Workers Party) made a quick
ascent to power. Adolf Hitler, the leader of the Nazi party, envisioned a new era of glory for
Germany: a Third Reich. His eventual invasion of Poland in sparked the beginning of World War
II. During the war, Germany, along with the other Axis Powers, Japan and Italy, expanded into
parts of Europe and Asia. Hitler invaded Poland, Denmark, Norway, France, Luxembourg, Belgium,
and The Netherlands within the first two years of the war. Determined to create the perfect Aryan
race, Hitler set up concentration camps all over Europe. Jews, Communists, and political enemies
were imprisoned in these camps, and millions died while in them. However, after years of war and
multiple significant losses, Hitler committed suicide. Germany surrendered in 1945, shortly
following Hitler s death.
After the war, the decimated Germany was split into four occupation zones by the Allies. There

Essay The Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda and South Sudan
Introduction In the African countries of Uganda and South Sudan, thousands of men, women and
children are being brutally murdered and mutilated in their own villages. Children are being
kidnapped by the thousands. Women are being brutally raped. Shockingly, the assailants in these
heinous crimes are children, armed under the leadership of a military madman named Joseph Kony.
Calling themselves the Lord s Resistance Army, they are considered one of the most vicious
terrorist groups in the world.
Beginning of the LRA The Lord s Resistance Army (LRA) was originally founded in 1986 by Alice
Lakwena in northern Uganda under the name the Holy Spirit Movement Forces. Subsequently, the
group was taken over in 1987 by Joseph Kony after the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
State Department as a terrorist group since 2001. Likewise, the group s leader Joseph Kony has
also been listed as global terrorist by the State Department since 2008. Subsequently, the LRA was
officially listed as a terrorist organization by the African Union in 2011.
Kony Under the leadership of Joseph Kony, the LRA has become increasingly violent, often
towards the Acholi people, who they claim to protect. Kony uses scriptures taken from the
Pentateuch to convince his followers that they are doing the will of God by murdering and
mutilating innocent people. Moreover, while declaring he follows both Christianity and Islam, he
also maintains that he receives guidance from the spirits of the dead through black magic rituals. A
warrant was issued for Kony along with four of his commanders by the International Criminal
Court in 2005, for crimes against humanity and related war crimes. According to the U.S. State
Department, two of the commanders are assumed dead, while the whereabouts of Kony and the
two others remain unknown. Currently, the United States has offered a reward of five million
dollars for information leading to Kony s arrest and capture. In 2006, the government of Uganda
arranged for peace talks with Kony and the LRA. However, although Kony originally agreed to the
negotiations, he repeatedly refused to come out of hiding to sign the agreements. It has been
reported that in 2007, he murdered his second in command Vincent Otti during

William Kennedy Ironweed Quotes
An Analysis of Ironweed: Victim or warrior?
In William Kennedy s novel Ironweed, the story is set in Albany, New York, during the 1930 s
otherwise known as the Great Depression. In the story, the main character Francis Phelan lives
as a bum and can be described as a classic antihero on a lengthy quest for forgiveness from both
the living and the dead. It is the story of one man s physical and emotional struggle for survival
and redemption as the guilt from his dark past become ghosts in his everyday life. He is a
murderer, an alcoholic and is constantly running away from his responsibilities. Despite these
flaws, he comes across as a kind and genuine person as he attempts to save his friends and finally
returns to the family he once deserted. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You could have twenty dollars in your pocket at all times, make fifty, seventy five a week, have a
beautiful apartment with everything you want in it, all you want to drink, once you get straight

increasing the chances of one being homeless as jobs went under and unemployment rates rose
significantly. This lasted more than a decade and many were compelled to leave their homes in
search of job opportunities (Dupuis 1) Although this was the case, Francis Phelan was not
homeless because of this reason, but because he chose to run away, commit murders, and spend his
money on alcohol. He had the qualities of a successful man but chose to react to his unfortunate life
events in a cowardly

Lou Gehrig Research Paper
The Life of Lou Gehrig: Henry Louis Gehrig mainly known as Lou Gehrig is one of the best
baseball players to ever step on the diamond. He played all 17 of his seasons for the New York
Yankees, and wore the number 4. As a child Gehrig suffered very repeating occurrences of
epileptic seizures. His childhood illness would eventually come back later in his life to play a
huge factor of his early retirement. Born in Manhattan on June 19 1903, Lou Gehrig had a very
difficult childhood. His father failed to keep a job because of his obsession to alcohol. So, the
only reason why Gehrig was such a huge success was because of the encouragement of his
mother Christina. Both of his sisters were killed due to measles and many other diseases that
were spreading during that time. He also had a younger brother die in infancy. Gehrig did not
have some privileges that other kids had. He had to help his mom around the house because it
was practically just him and his mother. As Gehrig reached High School he was not playing the
sport that he will eventually become one of the greatest to ever play. He was playing fullback for
his High School football team. It wasn t until his sophomore year that he would start his baseball

The Role of Woman
Throughout the course of the semester I feel as thought the roles of women from the readings we
have read all relate to each other. I don t think that the roles of women in British and colonial
society changed much, if not at all. Each reading that we have read, the women s role is mainly to
stay home with her children to raise them and tend to them while the husband works and makes the
income while sheltering his family. Another role that the women throughout these time periods is
that most of them don t know the outside world because of not doing much but raising their
children. A role of women throughout British and colonial society is that the pressure of society
influences on them. The only role of women that changed throughout these periods was their
freedom and privileges.
During the Victorian Age, the Angel in the House displayed the roles of women in British and
colonial society. The Angel in the House was your ideal women and a part of the upper class in
society. This woman was educated, as she would teach her children how to read. The Angel in the
House was very devoted to her husband, but most of the time she was relatively unhappy. Two
readings that talk about the roles of the women, is the Angel in the House is the poem Angel in the
House by Patmore and the reading Of Queens Garden by Ruskin.
The poem is about Patmore and how he sets up a model of his wife insisting that that s how women
should be. This woman is held up to many expectations and as a

Amish Cultural Values And Beliefs
The Amish are a secluded religious group with the majority living in Ohio, Indiana, and
Pennsylvania. They avoid modernization and the typical American lifestyle. This writer is from
Indiana and remembers seeing a slow moving large black object early one morning moving
across an interstate overpass. It was beautiful and fascinating as the giant horse was solid black,
the carriage was black and the gentleman was wearing all black. The sun was just rising and it
woke this writer up while driving with heavy eyes. This paper seeks to explore Amish cultural
values, beliefs, and attitudes in order to provide culturally competent nursing healthcare. It is
imperative for nurses to provide culturally competent care because nurses serve as patient
advocates. This role includes respecting the rights and dignity of all patients. Nurses are not
necessarily as culturally diverse as the populations they serve, so it is important to learn about
different cultures such as the Amish.

Qualitative Research Is Good At Simplifying And Managing...
Qualitative research is good at simplifying and managing data without destroying complexity
and context. Qualitative methods are highly appropriate for questions where preemptive
reduction of the data will prevent discovery. If the purpose is to learn from the participants in a
setting or a process the way they experience it, the meanings they put on it, and how they
interpret what they experience, the researcher needs methods that will allow for discovery and
do justice to their perceptions and the complexity of their interpretations. Qualitative methods
have in common the goal of generating new ways of seeing existing data. If the purpose is to
construct a theory or a theoretical framework that reflects reality rather than the researchers own
perspective or prior research results, one may need methods that assist the discovery of theory in
data. If the purpose is to understand phenomena deeply and in detail, the researcher needs
methods for discovery of central themes and analysis of core concerns. Each of these suggestions
has a flip side. If one knows what is being hypothesized and what they are likely to find, if one do
not need to know the complexity of others understandings, if one is testing prior theory rather than
constructing new frameworks, or if one is simply describing a situation rather than deeply analyzing
it, it is possible that one should not be working qualitatively. Perhaps the research question that one
is tackling with in depth interviews would be

She’s Come Undone by Wally Lamb Essay
Before taking this course, I always looked at films and read books just as the average person
does; interesting plot and how long will it hold my interest, but this course gave me an entire
different perspective when watching films and reading books. Now that I have taken this course
and have watched the required films, the most important thing when watching other movies and
reading books, is the meaning behind each scene and how they relate and affect our world. For
this paper, I will discuss a book that I read a long time ago, which is She s Come Undone by
Wally Lamb and how this book relates to this course. She s Come Undone is a story about a girl
named Dolores Price. In this book, the author takes you through Dolores life, starting... Show more

In this particular film Harold was very interested in death, and because of this he attempted many
fake suicide attempts as a cry for help and attention. When Harold meets a woman named Maude,
she teaches him many life lessons and the importance of living life to the fullest. In turn Harold
opens up to her about his thoughts and feelings and the two of them become great friends. This
film relates to She s Come Undone because just like Harold, Dolores battled her own issues and
attempted suicide. Both of these characters meet people who help them understand that life is
worth living no matter the struggles or hardships we face. With Harold, there was Maude and
for Dolores, there was Dr. Shaw. Dr. Frost mentioned something in the notes that I believe helped
both of these characters get through there hard times and that is: One of the most powerful and
saving emotions is laughter. It helps keep us healthy both emotionally and physically. We can
literally laugh our way out of illness! During the talks with Maude and the therapy sessions with
Dr. Shaw, both Harold and Dolores were able to laugh through their troubles. As I mentioned
before, I really enjoyed this course because it gave me a different perspective on what to look for

The Battle Of Leipzig And The Battle Of Leipzig
The Battle of Leipzig The Battle of Leipzig involved an exciting alliance that put into the
battlefield against Napoleon, close to one million soldiers. This is the most substantial number
of Soldiers ever assembled at this time in history. The battle of Leipzig is incorrectly compared
to the campaigns of Austerlitz, Borodino, and Waterloo. Similarities are the disposition of forces
and how events unfolded on one battlefield among two distinct lines of troops. Each line
advanced towards each other, with the cavalry making a critical decision to turn a flank or risk
opening a line of advance in the center. The infantry may exploit this action. The Battle of
Leipzig was nothing like former assaults that were decisive by day s end, and most resemble the
apparent disorganization of vast armies and retreat which were characteristic of much of the
fighting in Russia just a year earlier in 1812. As this essay demonstrates, the Battle of Leipzig is
best studied by looking ahead at wars waged by complex movements of mass formations. These
formations consisted of allied armies whose coordination and reliability increased or decreased in
conjunction with the relationship between the generals and kings or national leaders associated
with them. The same proportionality in relationships became evident in both world wars and
currently in Syria. Napoleon s often debated decision to embark on an unfamiliar defensive strategy
at Leipzig led to his army running out of ammunition. In fact,

Sexual Exploitation And Assault Of A Minor
The sexual exploitation or assault of a minor is the definition of childhood sexual abuse (Burns,
Dunn, Brady, Starr Blosser, 2013). The abuse may involve fondling, oral genital, genital or anal
contact with a child who developmentally unable to give consent. The incidence of childhood
sexual abuse in the United States is approximately 18% of girls and 9 % of boys (Bechtel
Bennett, 2016). As the pediatric primary care provider, the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
may become involved with a pediatric patient who has experienced sexual abuse or exploitation.
The diagnosis of sexual abuse in children has substantial implications legally, communally and
emotionally for the child, the parents and the clinician. Therefore, the FNP must consider the
medical legal implication of the interview with the patient, the parents as well as the history and
physical exam of the child. Careful documentation of all findings from the visit is vital to the
advocacy of the patient (Burns, et al, 2013). Concerns of abuse regarding the pediatric patient
may be elicited from communication with the child or the parent. The FNP may also notice
physical or laboratory findings that indicate sexual activity in a pediatric patient. As the FNP
conducts both well and sick child exams, obtaining the history and physical may reveal both
physical and behavioral indicators of abuse. However, 90% of physical exams of these children do
not reveal physical trauma due to passage of time or type of abuse

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
Solution Focused Brief Therapy Introduction Solution focused Brief therapy is a postmodern,
constructivist advancement that uniquely focuses on the resolution of the concerns of the client.
It mainly puts an emphasis on facilitating the clients by identifying and prioritizing the solutions.
In short, the solution focused approach is founded on the ground that change can occur over a
brief period of time (Hepworth et.al, 2010). Solution focused Brief Therapy can be represented
by three principal components: Making use of dialogue centered on the apprehensions, concerns,
and fears of the clients Employment of conversations that mainly focus on the co construction of
new denotations that encircle the concerns of the clients Making use of and utilizing certain
techniques for being of assistance to clients in order to enable them co create an image of an
ideal future and to draw upon precedent successes and strengths for their issues resolution
(Franklin et.al, 2012) To cut a long story short, the therapists who practice Solution focused Brief
Therapy follow a very effortless but useful rule i.e. finding out what works and doing more of it
(Kaslow, Massey Massey, 2002). Thus, Solution focused Brief Therapy is really valuable, useful
and efficient as it deals with a good number of problems that clients come up with. It encourages
and offers its clients new ways of thinking regarding their matters. The immediate problems faced

called AR 15s) and how they should be banned from use of the public. Well I disagree; there s
much for politicians to learn about these weapons, which is one of the biggest problems. These
weapons are actually not dangerous tools for murderers and psychopaths, as they are made out to
be. They are sporting and hunting rifles that can be outfitted for a variety of jobs for the public. AR

For example, assault weapons are equipped with large capacity ammunition magazines that allow
the shooter to fire 20, 50, or even more than 100 rounds without having to reload. Pistol grips on
assault rifles and shotguns help stabilize the weapon during rapid fire and allow the shooter to
spray fire from the hip position. Barrel shrouds on assault pistols protect the shooter s hands from
the heat generated by firing many rounds in rapid succession, is what some anti gunners say. Most
political representatives say that they have high capacity magazines which are to unnecessarily
large to be useful. They claim that they are overkill. These same people do not know anything
about these weapons, if they did they would understand that a 30 round magazine is what comes

Comparison Between Because He Loves Her And Girl Afraid
The poem Because He loves Her , by Emily Dickinson, and the song Girl Afraid by The Smiths
share a common topic: relationship dynamics. They discuss two different couples and show both
ends of the spectrum. In Dickinson s poem, the two are in love and the man treats his love
exceptionally well. In Girl Afraid , the couple is in a vastly different situation. They seem listless
and completely lacking in love or feelings of intimacy. Emily Dickinsons poem seems to be from an
outsider s perspective. We will pry and see if she is fair gives the impression that perhaps the
narrator deems the man s paramour maybe lacking, or maybe the narrator is jealous (Dickinson

Charles II Dbq Essay
The reign of Charles II and the revolution against his brother James show that England in the later
seventeenth century was ready to be Tory and Anglican but not Roman Catholic and Francophile.
Discuss.
It is not wrong to assume that the consequence of the reigns of Charles and James II was to lead
England to be Tory for some time, at least and Anglican rather than Francophile and Catholic. Both
Charles and James II had sympathies for Catholicism, and England had had a tense and problematic
relationship with Roman Catholicism since the reign of Henry VIII. This tendency and the
relationship of Charles with Louis XIV contributed greatly to the ever increasing hostility towards
France and Catholicism.

The Decline of Blockbuster Entertainment
How could a company that was built into a multibillion dollar empire fail less than two decades
later? Blockbuster Entertainment started with one store in Dallas in 1985 and rose up to become
the dominant force in the movie rental industry. They were acquired by Viacom, at the pinnacle of
their success, for $8.4 billion in 1994 and were in bankruptcy by 2010. A series of blunders by
upper management, highlighted by a lack of strategic vision, led to Blockbuster s rapid decline and
ultimate failure.

In 2005 Blockbuster eliminated late fees due to it being their number one customer complaint. In
an ironic twist, Reed Hastings had founded Netflix after incurring a $40 late fee for returning the
movie Apollo 13 late to his local Blockbuster. Ending late fees would cost Blockbuster nearly $400
million in yearly profits. This now placed them in a position where they no longer had the cash

to reinvest in their company. With the end to late fees customers began to keep their rentals
longer. This resulted in a new number one customer complaint of titles always being out of

Already reeling from customer losses to Netflix, Blockbuster management failed, once again, to

the Transaction Department of Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE thereafter). SGE was approved by
the State Council and founded by the People s Bank of China, possessing the largest influence on

The A level customers were those whom she would pay visits first. B was the less important and C
referred to those that needed a certain attention. Therefore, the evaluation I received from the
customers about her was every high, especially the high end customers. She would analyze the
Golden Triangle of the gold, the USD, and the oil, the fund market making position and the
influence of policies for the high end customers. She also gave me an additional report expressing
her focus on the growing potential high end customers. These companies have long term
cooperation with us. Although their initial investment capital was small, with the development of
its company and our relation, it invested more and more into the SGE, such as the Yongjia Jewelry
Company of Shanghai and Jiyuan Jewelry Company limited of Shanghai. She made a list of these
kinds of companies and proposed to explore this new market. In the process of attracting and
admitting new members, including self supporting financial organization investors, we also
enhanced the risk awareness of the members and investors and acquainted them with gold
investment knowledge. As an assistant, she communicated with the members and made records
according to their different situations. Under the large background of property control and huge

The Government And Other Related Parties Should Label
GMO Labeling Tennessee Senator
Ashley Cavender
SPCH 3346
Thesis: The Government and other related parties should label GMO s because it would be in the
best interest for Tennessee citizens; so they can make informed decisions on what they are putting
into their bodies.
INTRODUCTION
I.When it comes to owning the seed for collecting royalties, the GMO companies say it s mine but
when it comes to contamination, cross pollution, health problems, the response is we are not liable
a.Indian environmental activist, Dr. Vandana Shiva is saying that seed is the source of everything
and GM seeds are not the answer and food companies are not standing up for us. We have to

b.I think that by carefully and respectfully expressing my perspective I can give my audience a
clear picture of what GMO s have done to our food
IV.Forecast Development and Organization
a.I will begin with when GMO s were introduced into the food system; our current food system is
effected by them in many ways.
b.My second point will be about GMO s and how they have a negative effect on people. (Truth =
Constitution)
c.My third point will be about how GMO s impact our food and that it will have a detrimental
impact concerning the future of food. (Justice = Constitution (You cannot oppose me and uphold
the Constitution)) (Transition: Now let s move on to where the problem began)
BODY
I.GMO s were introduced into the food system for several reasons and they have affected that
system in many ways.
a.GMO s were introduced for the first time in the mid 90 s. Again, some of you may know this
information but I am going to go through it quickly.
i.GMO s were created to offer increased yield, drought tolerance, enhanced nutrition, or any other
consumer benefit. ii. Monsanto (the creator of the GM seed) says that they simply want to make
the seed and plant resistant to disease and pets, withstand harsh weather conditions, and increase
shelf life (discover.monsanto.com, 2015).
b.Currently GM crops in our food system include soy (94%), cotton (90%), canola (90%), sugar
beets (95%), corn (88%), Hawaiian

Petruchio Deception Essay
The definition of deceit is when someone causes another person to believe something that is not
true, usually for a personal gain. Petruchio and Lucentio both used deception to their advantage but
Shakespeare made the outcome of their deceptions a lot different than what the audience assumed
would happen. The first big deceptionwas on lines 273 275 on the Taming of the Shrew, Act II,
Scene II, when Petruchio told Katherine that her father gave him to marry her and it was already to
set to happen. What Petruchio did not tell her is that her father said that Petruchio could not marry
Katherine unless Katherine loved him. katherine believed this because she was the least favorite
daughter out of her and Bianca and unless Katherine was married... Show more content on

Katherine could not stand Petruchio but she liked the attention due to the fact that she never
got any from her father because she was the least favorite daughter. Shakespeare made it out that
Katherine was a shrew the whole book but in reality, she was nothing more than a daughter
wanting attention. Once she married Petruchio she stopped acting as a shrew and started acting
as a wife because for the first time in forever she was actually given attention. Petruchio believed
it was because he tamed her but in reality she was tamed the whole time. She just wanted
attention and once she was married she was given attention constantly so she felt as if she had
everything she wanted so she did not have to act like a shrew. The second major deception was
when Lucentio and Tranio disguised themselves so they could pursue Bianca. Tranio disguised
himself as Lucentio and was told to speak to Baptista about marrying Bianca, while Lucentio was
disguised as a teacher and would be able to be close to Bianca. This worked out great due to the
fact that nobody knew what Lucentio looked like so he could being doing two things at the same

Impactful Use Of Figurative Language In Malala s Nobel...
Twenty six whopping minutes. That s how long Malala Yousafzai s Nobel Prize speech was, and
it was jampacked full of rhetorical devices such as figurative language, repetition, and parallel
structure. You could go and watch it, but you ll get the same content from reading this paper, and it
ll take half of the time. There are many instances of figurative languagethat can be found within
Malala s speech, but I m just going to highlight the ones that stuck out to me. One of the most
impactful uses of figurative language that I came across was a metaphor. In order to convey
determination to learn, she referenced her thirst for education. I thought that this was very
impactful because it compares education to one of the basic necessities of life, water. Another
great use of figurative language within her speech was the use of symbolism. Throughout her
speech, Malala uses herself as a symbol for various issues that she cares about, but it s very
evident when she claims to be other girls that have had to fight for their rights. Malala uses... Show

Three times she says so it becomes the last time when referring to education deprivation. She
does this to ingrain the thought into our brains that if we take a stand, children will no longer
have to worry about education deprivation. As a result, the thought that more and more helpless
children will lose their rights to education if we don t decide to help them will be ingrained in
our minds as well. While talking about the same subject, Malala states that it is not the time to
pity them twice to emphasize the point that nothing will happen if we don t take actions to help
the children. Towards the end of her speech, she reveals that her goal is to see every child in
school. Twice more, she repeats the phrase, the last time, to show us that if we put all of our effort
into achieving her goal, we will never have to fight for education

Is Animal Testing Necessary
Imagine sacrificing your own pet so it could be used for space exploration. In the Space Race, the
USA and the Russians would send animals to space to make sure it was safe enough for humans.
The animals were used to help improve technology and to help get the first man on the moon.
Without testing animals, we wouldn t have been able to know the effects it has on the humanbody or
if humans would be able to survive in space.
To begin with, animal testing was necessary because it was too risky to send a human to space.
According to Space.com, Calla Cofield wrote, We didn t even know if humans would be able to
digest their food [in space] (Cofield). Scientists had thought that if you went to space, your stomach

Protect Vehicle Undercoating
If you want to protect the underside of your vehicle from getting rusted out, you need to apply an
undercoating to your vehicle. You can use bed liner paint to undercoat your vehicle and protect it
from rust.
Elevate Your Vehicle
In order to paint the underside of your vehicle, you are going to need access to it. You will need to
use either jack stands or a vehicle ramp in order to give you the access that you need to paint.
If you choose to use jack stands, make sure that you lift up one tire at a time and securely place the
stand under the axle before moving on to the next tire. If you choose to go with a vehicle ramp,
make sure the emergency brake is engaged.

Sand Down The Undercarriage
Now that you have covered up all the important components under your vehicle, you need to sand
down the undercarriage. You will want to sand down the entire undercarriage, starting at the front
and working your way back. Sanding it down will roughen it up enough for the paint to stick to it.
Clean The Undercarriage
After you have sanded down the entire undercarriage, you need to clean it off. You don t want all
the debris from sanding to get in the paint that you are going to apply. You also need to remove any
grease that could get in the way.
Clean the area with a degreasing cleaner. You may need to use a stiff brush to remove any built up
grease. Rinse it off with water.
Paint The Undercarriage
Now you are ready to paint the undercarriage. Take the spray can with the bed liner paint, and
hold it back from the undercarriage about half a foot or so. Spray it evenly across the
undercarriage, working back and forth. You should only need to apply one

Importance Of Rental Heaters
Renting Portable Heaters to events and parties Event supply companies that rent supplies and
furnishing for all kinds of outdoor events. The bulk of the business from these companies usually
comes from renting out tables, chairs, linens and other common items needed for an outdoor
event or gathering. But portable outdoor heater rentals can also be a great way to increase your
margins for each event. Most people probably won t realize that they might need heaters for their
events, parties, or weddings that are held at night and/or in the winter months. So it s important to
showcase your rental heaters on your website, or at some point during the sales process. Even a

The powder coat is strong and protects the heater from the elements. So cleaning it is an easy
and straight forward task. Removing soot from burning, pilot, and surrounding area: While
these infrared heaters are very effective at burning their fuel, leaving only trace build up of soot
inside the emitter panel. You should only use compressed air to remove the soot, and you
should remove the emitter panel for maximum exposure. If you don t have access to an air
compressor, cans of computer dusters will work as well. You should never use water or any
cleaning solution to clean the emitter grid. These outdoor heaters are such efficient burners, that
soot builds up very slowly. So removing soot buildup is only needed once or twice a year. At
minimum, it should be done before the start of each cold season. Checking your Gas line for gas
leaks. The importance of this safety precaution can t be stressed enough, especially if you rent
your heater out extensively. Regularly checking for gas leaks is the only surefire way to prevent
injuries or health issues. Start with a visual inspection of your propane tank, gas line, and
connectors; look for dents or cracks on the tank, and any tears or holes in the gas line. Gas tubes
can become brittle over time and develop small micro tears that can potentially leak gas. The
connectors between the gas tube and the

Causes Of The Obstacles In The Odyssey
Everyone faces struggles at some point in their life, no matter if you are a hero from an old
mythical story or a modern day person living in Iowa. Even though the struggles faced by Odysseus
and me are different, they have a common overlapping theme that ties them together. Which causes
them in turn to be in fact very comparable. Both Odysseusand I face obstacles such as temptation,
laziness, and distraction. Although his obstacles come from his want to go back home to Ithaca,
mine are from my desire to live a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Temptation, sin or not? Depending on who you ask it may or may not be. Temptation can come in
any form. It sidetracks people from whatever their individual goal is and draws them to do
something that isn t the best for them. Odysseus and I both face temptation in different ways. For
him it is his struggle against the sirens. Mythical mermaid like creatures that sing to him with
enchantments calling him to his death against his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is one of the most underrated troubles. For it causes many issues in the world, though the
blame always seems to fall upon some other reason of cause. Laziness causes people to not want
to fulfill their wildest dreams to refusing to do necessary duties. On the island of the lotus eaters,
Odysseus faces laziness at its most extreme. The lotus flowers cause people to magically lose
their longing for home. Sailors don t have much control over their laziness, for it was forced
upon them by way of magic lotus flowers from the natives. My troubles with laziness come from
giving up because something is too hard , when really I just am being lazy. It causes me to not
work as hard as I should to achieve my goal of having a happy and healthy lifestyle. Laziness in
Odysseus story and mine are similar because we both lose the lust for our goal. Luckily we can
both overcome laziness with hard work and determination, even if Pandora releases it from the box

7 Years War Dbq
Firstly, the unfair policies and the colonists desire to be free from England resulted in the in the
revolutionary war. Before the war, American officials aimed to take over land, profits, and political
power from favorites of the British Empire. Therefore, during this time Americans were disgruntled.
Thus, there was war between the French and Indians, called the Seven Years War. England
won the
war, and now began to focus on the British and Indians. However, British tried to established a
peaceful relationship with the Indians by declaring Indian land beyond the Appalachians, through
the Proclamation of 1763. They also needed revenues to pay for the war, and for that, they looked

Favelas are typically built when squatters (a person who unlawfully occupies an uninhabited building or unused land) occupy vacant land at the edge of a city and construct shacks of salvaged or stolen materials. These areas are known to be areas with crime and extreme poverty; the people who live there are socially outcasted and are usually ignored by upper class citizens. • 4. Patience Analysis What is patience? Patience means the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting upset or angry. My sister, Natalie, and I had a normal relationship we fight like every other pair of siblings do. We normally have very small, stupid fights over things that do not matter. For some reason that day I did not have any patience at all and then it all happened. On a beautiful, hot day in August 2011, my grandfather, father, mother, brother, sister, and I all began our day of work. Natalie and I had been in argument over who got to sit in the good chair in the rusty corn building next to the grain bins. • 5. How and to What Extent Did War and Violence Contribute to... How and to what extent did war and violence contribute to the definition of chivalry as both an historical and social phenomenon? It is largely acknowledged by historians that, while it is difficult to be definitive in the meaning of chivalry with Maurice Keen believing it to be a word elusive of definition it came to denote the culture of a martial estate which regarded war as its hereditary profession . Thus, it could be considered that the violence of war had large implications on what people began to perceive to be chivalry. Additionally, the focus on violence such as the participating in tournaments and jousts further emphasises the close link between carrying out violent acts and the idea that a knight was being chivalrous. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The historian Richard Kaeuper notes that prowess being crucial to honor may have contributed as much to the problem of violence as it provided a solution . Therefore, this appears to convey why the concept of chivalry began to be associated with violence and warfare as knights, in the pursuit of honor, became reliant on violence and battle to prove their aptitude. This idea is supported by a medieval knight Sir John Chandos, who stated that men brought up for martial calling cannot live without war and do not know how to . Maurice Keen argues that chivalry was quintessentially bellicose as it presented those who fought has having a pinnacle of honor . As a result, the use of force by knights as a way of denoting their gallantry led to the belief that violence was intrinsic to the notion of chivalry. Furthermore, within the medieval period there was the development of certain traditions and rewards associated with the concept of chivalry. The partaking in tournaments and jousting is argued by Keen to have been a step on the scale of chivalrous perfection . In these activities acts of violence were glorified and those who were successful were rewarded, thus endorsing and entrenching the belief that violence and success in war were the main premises on which chivalry was based. The extent to which violence contributed to what came to define chivalry is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hughes is trying to convey that over a period of time a person may become so tired of the dream that they have postponed that it would actually start to stink, they would start to hate it, and want to get rid of it just as if someone would want to get rid of a piece of rotten meat. • 9. The Ponzi Scheme versus the Madoff Scheme Schneeweis Szado (2010, p.9) suggested that ffinancial fraud in general and Ponzi schemes in particular continue to maneuver investors. A Ponzi scheme is frequently described as a securities fraud in which the investment manager is in fact taking money from new investors to fund redemptions from current investors. These strategies are often discovered when new investors cannot be found to offset redemptions from current investors. The Ponzi method received its name from Charles Ponzi, who marketed an investment based on managing the International Postal Reply Coupons. Ponzi suggested that an arbitrage opportunity existed because he could exchange U.S. dollars into the necessary foreign currency, and use the foreign currency to purchase postal reply coupons. The postal reply coupons could be redeemed for U.S. postage stamps, which could then be sold for U.S. dollars. Ponzi promoted unusually high returns to investors when in fact he simply used the new investment to pay of the previous investors. While the scheme soon collapsed, there are similarities between him and the Madoff scheme. For example, Madoff sold primarily to the Jewish community and also Ponzi sold primarily to the immigrant community of the North End of Boston, to which he belonged. Along with that, the validity of Madoff s strategy was a subject argued by the public press (Barron s) as well as by individuals (Markopolus) on the grounds. • 15. Essay on Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation When a person plans or wants to do something, he or she has a motivation for that specific thing. In other words, when a person does something, that person has a reason why he or she should do that thing. Not always there is a reason to do something, but sometimes may be many reasons that are backing a person to take those actions to do it. This happens not only to humans, or living organisms, but also in nonliving organisms. An example is when a rock which had bounced after it hit the floor while falling down. Scientists may tell some of the reasons why the rock does that kind of action, but they cannot tell all of the reasons that back the rock s actions. A similar thing, as the scientists, was Alfie Kohn trying to do in his essay, Why... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason is that the reward is not the main thing that is backing up the action; but something else that could be self develop, peace, etc. An example is a boy does his homework just because he was told by his parents to do his homework. Based on that the boy believes that his parents know what is best for him to do. On the other hand, extrinsic motivation is when a person takes actions knowing that at the end of that action there is a reward waiting for him or her. In this case, the person does it not because thinking about self development, peace, etc. but about the reward. An example could be that the boy s mother will not let the boy watch his favorite cartoons, until he finishes his homework. That way the boy will finish his homework just to be able to watch the cartoons, but does not care if he fully understands the materials on which the homework was about. Third possibility is the both type of motivations, intrinsic and extrinsic, are the reason for someone s action. It is when the person is doing something knowing there is going to be a reward at the end, also during that action the person will develop in skills, professionalism, etc. The example could be taken from the essay that Kohn wrote. The reward that Kohn could have got is being paid for writing the essay, with the main back up that the action will bring development of experiences in writing professionally. Which these two poems address, that is injustice towards other race in America. In Langston Hughes I Too and The Weary Blues the trouble of unjust towards African Americans, weigh on the speaker s mind. Each poem reflecting on the same issue just a little bit differently. In the poem I Too written in 1945 the overall theme focused by Langston was discrimination towards the African American people in the United States. We understand that the speaker in the poem is black from the first line where it states I am the darker brother providing an imagery for the readers. Then in the poem it says They send me to eat in the kitchen when company comes setting the tone of the poem, meaning that the speaker is unimportant person or referring him to a slave. At the end of the poem the speaker says Besides, they ll see how beautiful I am and be ashamed implying that the discriminating people will one day find out that everyone one is equal and be disappointed in their actions. • 18. Germany, And The Federal Republic Of Germany History Germany, or the Federal Republic of Germany, was officially founded 1871 by Otto von Bismarck. Since then, Germany has had a rich history. As a young nation looking to get more territory, Germany fought in World War I. However, its loss in the war led to severe punishments in the Treaty of Versailles, leading to bitterness and resentment among the German people, as well as an economic depression. These harsh conditions helped to set the stage for Fascism in Germany. Toppling the Weimar Republic, the Nazi party (the National Social Workers Party) made a quick ascent to power. Adolf Hitler, the leader of the Nazi party, envisioned a new era of glory for Germany: a Third Reich. His eventual invasion of Poland in sparked the beginning of World War II. During the war, Germany, along with the other Axis Powers, Japan and Italy, expanded into parts of Europe and Asia. Hitler invaded Poland, Denmark, Norway, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and The Netherlands within the first two years of the war. Determined to create the perfect Aryan race, Hitler set up concentration camps all over Europe. Jews, Communists, and political enemies were imprisoned in these camps, and millions died while in them. However, after years of war and multiple significant losses, Hitler committed suicide. Germany surrendered in 1945, shortly following Hitler s death. After the war, the decimated Germany was split into four occupation zones by the Allies. There were three Western zones, occupied by ... • 26. Qualitative Research Is Good At Simplifying And Managing... Qualitative research is good at simplifying and managing data without destroying complexity and context. Qualitative methods are highly appropriate for questions where preemptive reduction of the data will prevent discovery. If the purpose is to learn from the participants in a setting or a process the way they experience it, the meanings they put on it, and how they interpret what they experience, the researcher needs methods that will allow for discovery and do justice to their perceptions and the complexity of their interpretations. Qualitative methods have in common the goal of generating new ways of seeing existing data. If the purpose is to construct a theory or a theoretical framework that reflects reality rather than the researchers own perspective or prior research results, one may need methods that assist the discovery of theory in data. If the purpose is to understand phenomena deeply and in detail, the researcher needs methods for discovery of central themes and analysis of core concerns. Each of these suggestions has a flip side. If one knows what is being hypothesized and what they are likely to find, if one do not need to know the complexity of others understandings, if one is testing prior theory rather than constructing new frameworks, or if one is simply describing a situation rather than deeply analyzing it, it is possible that one should not be working qualitatively. The Battle Of Leipzig And The Battle Of Leipzig The Battle of Leipzig The Battle of Leipzig involved an exciting alliance that put into the battlefield against Napoleon, close to one million soldiers. This is the most substantial number of Soldiers ever assembled at this time in history. The battle of Leipzig is incorrectly compared to the campaigns of Austerlitz, Borodino, and Waterloo. Similarities are the disposition of forces and how events unfolded on one battlefield among two distinct lines of troops. Each line advanced towards each other, with the cavalry making a critical decision to turn a flank or risk opening a line of advance in the center. The infantry may exploit this action. The Battle of Leipzig was nothing like former assaults that were decisive by day s end, and most resemble the apparent disorganization of vast armies and retreat which were characteristic of much of the fighting in Russia just a year earlier in 1812. As this essay demonstrates, the Battle of Leipzig is best studied by looking ahead at wars waged by complex movements of mass formations. These formations consisted of allied armies whose coordination and reliability increased or decreased in conjunction with the relationship between the generals and kings or national leaders associated with them. The same proportionality in relationships became evident in both world wars and currently in Syria. Napoleon s often debated decision to embark on an unfamiliar defensive strategy at Leipzig led to his army running out of ammunition. In fact, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The abuse may involve fondling, oral genital, genital or anal contact with a child who developmentally unable to give consent. The incidence of childhood sexual abuse in the United States is approximately 18% of girls and 9 % of boys (Bechtel Bennett, 2016). As the pediatric primary care provider, the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) may become involved with a pediatric patient who has experienced sexual abuse or exploitation. The diagnosis of sexual abuse in children has substantial implications legally, communally and emotionally for the child, the parents and the clinician. Therefore, the FNP must consider the medical legal implication of the interview with the patient, the parents as well as the history and physical exam of the child. Careful documentation of all findings from the visit is vital to the advocacy of the patient (Burns, et al, 2013). Concerns of abuse regarding the pediatric patient may be elicited from communication with the child or the parent. The FNP may also notice physical or laboratory findings that indicate sexual activity in a pediatric patient. As the FNP conducts both well and sick child exams, obtaining the history and physical may reveal both physical and behavioral indicators of abuse. • 38. The Decline of Blockbuster Entertainment The Decline of Blockbuster Entertainment How could a company that was built into a multibillion dollar empire fail less than two decades later? Blockbuster Entertainment started with one store in Dallas in 1985 and rose up to become the dominant force in the movie rental industry. They were acquired by Viacom, at the pinnacle of their success, for $8.4 billion in 1994 and were in bankruptcy by 2010. A series of blunders by upper management, highlighted by a lack of strategic vision, led to Blockbuster s rapid decline and ultimate failure. In 2000 Blockbuster had the opportunity to purchase rival, Netflix but failed to envision Netflix s potential. In turn Blockbuster was left buried in debt, with an antiquated infrastructure and no means to improve it. In 2005 Blockbuster eliminated late fees due to it being their number one customer complaint. In an ironic twist, Reed Hastings had founded Netflix after incurring a $40 late fee for returning the movie Apollo 13 late to his local Blockbuster. Ending late fees would cost Blockbuster nearly $400 million in yearly profits. This now placed them in a position where they no longer had the cash flow to pay down their debt obligations, and with the reduction in profits they were also unable to reinvest in their company. With the end to late fees customers began to keep their rentals longer. This resulted in a new number one customer complaint of titles always being out of stock. Red Box, founded in 2003, would be the finishing knockout punch to Blockbuster. Already reeling from customer losses to Netflix, Blockbuster management failed, once again, to realize the potential of a new delivery system, the kiosk. Blockbuster had investigated kiosk delivery systems even before Red Box was introduced. They chose to instead believe that human interaction would keep their customer base intact. Red box s initial price of $1 a day rentals was a big consumer draw in comparison to Blockbusters $5 fee. Blockbuster tried to roll out trials of a new price ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Petruchio Deception Essay The definition of deceit is when someone causes another person to believe something that is not true, usually for a personal gain. Petruchio and Lucentio both used deception to their advantage but Shakespeare made the outcome of their deceptions a lot different than what the audience assumed would happen. The first big deceptionwas on lines 273 275 on the Taming of the Shrew, Act II, Scene II, when Petruchio told Katherine that her father gave him to marry her and it was already to set to happen. What Petruchio did not tell her is that her father said that Petruchio could not marry Katherine unless Katherine loved him. katherine believed this because she was the least favorite daughter out of her and Bianca and unless Katherine was married... Katherine could not stand Petruchio but she liked the attention due to the fact that she never got any from her father because she was the least favorite daughter. Shakespeare made it out that Katherine was a shrew the whole book but in reality, she was nothing more than a daughter wanting attention. Once she married Petruchio she stopped acting as a shrew and started acting as a wife because for the first time in forever she was actually given attention. Petruchio believed it was because he tamed her but in reality she was tamed the whole time. She just wanted attention and once she was married she was given attention constantly so she felt as if she had everything she wanted so she did not have to act like a shrew. The second major deception was when Lucentio and Tranio disguised themselves so they could pursue Bianca. Tranio disguised himself as Lucentio and was told to speak to Baptista about marrying Bianca, while Lucentio was disguised as a teacher and would be able to be close to Bianca. This worked out great due to the fact that nobody knew what Lucentio looked like so he could being doing two things at the same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You could go and watch it, but you ll get the same content from reading this paper, and it ll take half of the time. There are many instances of figurative languagethat can be found within Malala s speech, but I m just going to highlight the ones that stuck out to me. One of the most impactful uses of figurative language that I came across was a metaphor. In order to convey determination to learn, she referenced her thirst for education. I thought that this was very impactful because it compares education to one of the basic necessities of life, water. Another great use of figurative language within her speech was the use of symbolism. Throughout her speech, Malala uses herself as a symbol for various issues that she cares about, but it s very evident when she claims to be other girls that have had to fight for their rights. While talking about the same subject, Malala states that it is not the time to pity them twice to emphasize the point that nothing will happen if we don t take actions to help the children.
