Comparison Of Depression In The Big Sur By Jack Kerouac
Depression affects 350 million people and is the leading cause of disability worldwide. Everyone
deals with depression a different way but it is not easy, the best way is to see a professional and talk
about it to try to let it all out, but most people come up with their own way. Depressed modern poets
such as Jack Kerouac and Sylvia Plath tried to shock themselves into reality and heal their depression
and feelings about certain subjects with alcohol and electroconvulsive therapy but could not. They
both decided to chose the outlet of poetry and release their negative feelings by writing about similar
themes. This becomes evident when one draws similarities between themes such as isolation, nature
and love proven by examining The Big Sur by Jack Kerouac and many poetic works from Sylvia
Plath. Being a popular poet can do alot to one, and if ones fans only care about their work and not
their true feelings the artist tends to feel isolated.
When one is depressed he/she tends to isolate themselves. Kerouac and Plath both do this when they
are writing. In many of Plath s poems she writes about her loneliness, and in some she even tells God.
Plath is so depressed that she associate s life with loneliness, which proves that Plath feels she is
isolated God, but life is loneliness (Under the Night Starry Sky, Plath). Plath feels empty, she feels
useless, she is tired and just wants to relax, this proves that Plath is giving up and she is so upset with
her life that she does

Dragonfly Purva
Mercury is a heavy metal from group 12 of the periodic table, along with Zn and Cd. Mercury (Hg) is
a globally distributed contaminant that can harm human and wildlife health. It is currently one of the
most serious contaminants in water. Dragonfly larvae could serve as indicators of ecosystem health by
characterizing the risk and potential toxic effects of mercury. These aquatic macro invertebrates are
long lived (up to 5 years as larvae) before emerging as adult dragonflies WHEN CARRYING OUT

Disadvantages Of Membrane Distillation
As time goes by, the fresh water supplement for living on the earth planet will become a serious
problem [1 3]. In addition, the Middle East is mentioned as one of the poorest regions in all over the
world in terms of water resources with less than 1% of the total available global freshwater per capita
[4, 5]. Therefore, one of the strategic options to satisfy the current and future request for fresh water in
countries established around Gulf is to build up desalination units. So, immediate need has arisen to
construct economic units for water desalination. Nowadays, it has been proved that membrane
separation processes have several advantages for desalination and water reuse of contaminated
resources in comparison to the conventional separation methods [1, 6 8]. ... Show more content on

MD is a thermally driven separation process that utilizes a hydrophobic, membrane as a contactor
media between two fluids kept at different temperatures where the separation is obtained by the mass
transfer of the vapor phase. The driving force of the process is given by a partial vapor pressure
difference that caused from the temperature difference [13 17]. Two advantages of MD are, the
process performance is not highly affected by high feed salinity as see water, and has the theoretical
ability to reach 100% salt rejection [13, 18, 19]. There are commonly four types of membranes
arrangements for MD process: Direct Contact Membrane Distillation (DCMD), Vacuum Membrane
Distillation (VMD), Air Gap Membrane Distillation (AGMD), and the Sweeping Gas Membrane
Distillation (SGMD) [18, 20 22]. AGMD configuration is appropriated for water desalination [23, 24],
on the other hand water gap showed higher thermal efficiency and less internal heat loss in
comparison to AGMD [18, 25]. Therefore, these two arrangements are commonly used for the see

Retrograde Amnesia
Retrograde amnesia is a loss of memory access to events that occurred, or information that was
learned, before the injury of the diagnosis of the disease. The writer of this article goes through some
of the factors of which he knows and thinks are important in explaining functional deficits associated
with retrograde amnesia. I will be focusing on a few which are Functional Domains, Time of Onset,
and Patients Age. The functional domains that lie within the province of retrograde memory need to be
clearly specified. During a person s lifetime we build up an enormous store of knowledge, experience,
and skills. The article states that Until recent years, it has most commonly been used to refer to the

Interest Groups And Their Influence On Public Policy
Interest groups are organized to create an influence in governmental policies. Interest groups abide by
three structures: interest groups share common interests and goals, they are an organized structure, and
they desire to influence public policy. Interest groups come in many different sizes and backgrounds
but all are important to representatives and reelections. Interest groups typically release documents
with representative report cards to indicate how well or not a representative is voting in Congress to
that specific interest group s standards. According to Congress and Its Members, members of
Congress may face a primary challenge in the next election if their voting strays to far from their
promises and pledges to certain issues. Report cards are based off of the members roll call voting and
is based on a scale from zero to one hundred. The scores also affect whether or not a member of
Congress will receive support and financial aid during campaigns. There can be plentiful of issues to
worry about when casting a vote as a member of Congress. The scores can positively and negatively
affect a member especially if a member is trying to win reelection (Davidson, 1981). These scores are
not used to indicate whether an interest group favors a representative and is also not an indicator of
whether or not a representative is working for an interest group. Through the use of interest group
ratings, political scientists can determine how Representative Loretta Sanchez,

The Revelation Of The New Testament
This sanctified Divine Encounter establishes a connection within a realm of total purity and grace.
Noticeably, Philip mentions again that one s Divine partnership resides beyond one s earthly fleshly
one; impressing that one s spiritual, sexual essences with the Divine occur as one s true ultimate prize
in life and afterwards into eternity as the New Testament states in Revelation 21:1 3. Even through,
the direct expression of bridal chamber is none existent in the Bible; however, the reference of bride
and/or bridegroom does exist in several books such as Isa 62:5, Matt 24:1 13, John 3:29 and Rev 21:1
2. Having these terms discussed there, conceivably gives credit to the realism of this state of being; in
fact, within the New Testament the word bridegroom (referencing the Divine) is mentioned around
seventeen times. In addition, the Apostle Paul, in Rom 7:4, proclaims this divine marriage. The
appearance of this bonding terminology (bride, bridegroom, and bridal chamber) involving scared
consecration; clearly indicates a divine union to permanently occur. One specify parable of Jesus,
strangely likens the kingdom of heaven to ten virgins waiting for their marriage to take place with one
bridegroom; in due course, the marriage indeed takes place with only five of the virgins invited in,
Matt 25:1 13. With that said, the circumstance of apparent polygamy occurring is evident; however,
this proves to be improbable due to Jesus teachings regarding marriage to one

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea
The excerpt from Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea written by Jules Verne is a debate on
rather or not Captain Nemo and Professor Aronnax should try to go beyond the barrier. After many
minutes of debating they found themselves stuck in the ice. They try to decide what they are going to
do to get out of this messy situation. They finally come up with a decision to go under the ice. This
conversation of going under the ice develops Professor Aronnax s character as changing from
concerned to unconcerned. Verne develops Professor Aronnax s character as changing from concerned

Professor Aronnax is shown to be concerned in the way his tone is described. Anyone that was not

Professor also shows he is a little anxious with the hesitant I d like to believe you, Captain this remark
is not something an unconcerned person would say during a conversation. However, later in the
conversation Professor Aronnax has with Captain the Professor changes to a character who is no
longer concerned about the situation he is about to face. Captain Nemo is now listing the things that
might endanger them on their journey. Professor Aronnax quickly reassures him that it will be ok to go

the define phase, the company did not collect and analyze customer opinions and preferences, despite
one of the deep purpose of the project being to improve customer satisfaction. As such there is little
evidence to prove whether the project goals were in line with user requirements or not. Besides, after
the team set up the project goals, an in frame/out of frame analysis was established to manage the
scope of the project from the information technical (IT) and branch operations perspective. This was
done to establish what was within direct control of the team and what was not. However, from a
business perspective, they did not have a clear and reachable plan for the project time period, and no
actual timeline for the entire process. It is unusual to not show a business flow following a timeline or
give a specific plan for accomplishing of the project goals. Based on this, the project team gets a low
grade for the first criteria.

Aztec And Norse And Greek Mythology Similarities
When looking at the myths between various ancient cultures, distinct similarities appear between
motifs and symbols of their stories. It is often speculated why these characteristics remain consistent
despite differences in time, location, culture and beliefs. Looking at the similarities between Greek,
Aztec, and Norse mythology can perhaps shed some light on this mystery. All three myths feature an
apocalyptic event that starts a new life cycle, an element of sacrifice to retain order, and the death and
rebirth of a god. The theory of James Frazer best explains why these similarities exist, possibly
bringing a new perspective into the study of ancient mythology. To help understand the significance of
these similarities, James Frazer s theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the death of the agriculture god Balder signifies the beginning of Ragnarok in the Norse
story. After the series of destructive events, he returns to Earth from the underworld as it begins its
new cycle. This makes it clear that his rebirth is somewhat representative of agriculture dying in
winter and growing again in the spring, the season itself symbolic of revival. Likewise, in the Greek
myth, Persephone s rebirth happens when she leaves to the Underworld during the winter and returns
to the gods above during the spring. This is much like the vegetation cycle mentioned previously,
especially with her strong agricultural association. Finally, in the Aztec myth, Quetzacoatl, the creator
of humans, dies by burning himself out of remorse, his heart becoming the morning sun. His death
preserves the life cycle since his rebirth as the sun becomes as a central part of growing and dying. In
general, each rebirth of a god is symbolic of a similar rebirth in nature, their deaths becoming other
forms of life. Through these examples, it is quite evident how the natural cycle of life is reflected in

One Hundred Years Of Solitude Intertwining Family Tree
Intertwining Family Tree In the book One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the
Buendia family establishes the town of Macondo, located in Columbia, in the 18th century. The
Buendia s family had created the town on their own and they were also left there alone, in solitude, at
the end book. Hence the name of the novel. To create absolute solitude Marquez had to create incest
within the Buendia family. Incest means that they were making love and having kids with their
brothers and sisters as well as their aunts and cousins. This creates an interlocking family tree. With
the family reproducing within the household they have isolated themselves from the other members of
society. Today in modern society we see insect as is forbidden ... Show more content on

These things will never be known. From the book we can conclude that the absolute way to have
complete solitude would be to create a family with an obsession with incest. That way no one would
leave and the house would only grow to fit more relatives rather than outsiders. The question if incest
is right or wrong is never brought up by the villagers in the novel because if it was the author wouldn t
be able to tell a tale of One Hundred Years of Solitude . Solitude would be broken if the outsiders saw
incest as something else rather than normal. Incest the first sin and the last, it is what started the book
and what had also ended it. Without it there would be no story and there would be no Buendia family.
It would ve changed into something else over the five generations. The story was told in a circle, what

Franco s National Catholicism
Such outrageous exclusion has perpetuated itself in contemporary times through Franco s national
Catholicism and the post Franco Europeanization. It is in light of the latter that we can now
understand Goytisolo s words upon receiving the Cervantes Literary Prize: Cuando me dan un premio,
sospecho de mí mismo (El País, 2015). Such suspicion is indeed a well founded one, for his
recognition as a major writer on the account of the Spanish state has only come after the exclusion of
Iberia s Semitic roots by Franco s national Catholicism has been further secured through its

An example of grammatical fiction would be the following one: suppose I go down the stairs and

As it happens, nevertheless, I probably did not have such conscious moment in which that thought

The Emotional Brain Overpowering The Thinking Brain
In the psychopathologies mentioned above, one thing is common the emotional brain overpowering
the thinking brain. Therefore, in dealing with these psychopathologies, the main goal is to somehow
wake the thinking brain up so that it could fire the needed neurons to finally control the emotional
brain. It can be as simple as trying to talk some sense into the person. This is because when a person is
listening, it is the neocortex that is being used and will therefore fire up more neurons. Just like the

Once you have got the two winners from the division series on the NL side, those two winning teams
will have to play each other to get the league champions. In order to demonstrate this on your baseball
bracket, sketch a different 3 sided cube. Sketch a line from the center of the division games boxes, and
put the winning team on that line. Each winning team should be joined together by using a vertical
line. Do this for the AL and the NL teams in the bracket.
Display the World Series champs. Once both leagues have played, there will be one winner on each
side. At this point both sides in your baseball playoff bracket will meet in the page s center. Divide
each league championship game in half by drawing a line through the center of that game and enter
the winning team on this line. There will be 2 teams written next to each other. The reason is that one
team is in the National League while the other is in the American League. You don t need a box now,
just the line.

conclusion of the World Series. Underline the rival World Series competitor team s names, by

Miss Brill Reality
Kelly Lee Professor Mello English 1B 10/17/14 Facing reality The story of Miss Brill, by Katherine
Mansfield, is about an old English teacher, who lives by herself and visits the park every Sunday. Miss
Brill sits at the same spot every Sunday, quietly observing her surrounding and listing in on other
people s conversations. Through this observation, she pretends that she is a part of this extravagant
play taking place in real life, but in reality, she is just sad and lonely and wants to be a part of
something that she doesn t have. Miss Brill, is told through a third person limited omniscient point of
view. Through this we do not know the emotional state of Miss Brill. At first Miss Brill comes off as a
convincing character who we can symptomize with, but as we read on, we see that her perception is
completely unrealistic. The story begins with Miss Brill getting ready to go on her Sunday trip to the
park. She is deciding what to bring with her, when she pulls out this old box. What is inside is an old
fox fur, What is happening to me? (100) she asks, as she took the fox out to stroke it back to life. It
was like she sort of knew that she was taking pleasure in the only thing she cared for, which is only a
non living object. But she shook it off and carried on and placed the fur around her neck and headed to
the park. At the park is where the perception of who Miss Brill really is, is revealed to us. She sits

Twelve Angry Men Character Analysis
The way one person treats another is often a direct reflection of how they view themselves. People
with poor self images are often quick to judge, demean, belittle, and rebuke others for their mistakes,
shortcomings and flaws, simply out of spite or to protect their own reputation. This is true even in the
1957 MGM film Twelve Angry Men, where eleven of the twelve jurors attempt to convict a young
man not based off of sound evidence, but off of personal prejudice and self righteousness alone. It was
the leadership of the eighth juror, however, that convinced the other jurors to set aside their personal
biases to acquit the young man accused of killing his father. In the film, the eighth juror, Mr. Davis,
analyzes the self images of the other eleven jurors and displays the core values of humility, patience
and mercy in order to lead the group to the consensus that the accused is not guilty.
The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines humility as the quality or state of being humble and freedom
from pride or arrogance . Humility, simply put, is the opposite of prejudice. In the film, many of the
jurors enter the room with preconceived notions, falsified beliefs and irrational ideas about the
accused. Others enter the room unsure of their vote and to protect their pride, immediately side with
the jurors who believe the young man is guilty. Examples of this include how several of the jurors
stereotype the accused on the basis of race and how the third juror in particular forms a bias against
the young man simply because of his
age and the fact that the young man reminds him of his son. Mr. Davis, however, takes another stance.
In the book The Achievement Habit: Stop Wishing, Start Doing and Take Command of Your Life, Dr.
Bernard Roth states that true mindfulness is seeing without judging (Roth 205). Mr. Davis perfectly
models this quote as he approaches the issue with sympathy towards the young man in regard to his
upbringing. On an analytical level, the screenplay convincingly moves the audience to side with Mr.
Davis through the use of honest dialogue that allows viewers to put their trust in what Mr. Davis says.
The validity of Mr. Davis claims also stems from the profile of his character crafted by the

Challenges facing youths today
Challenges Facing the Youth in Today s Society
Most of the problems facing today s youth are not restricted to any one ethnic or religious group, but
affect young people generally. Most discussions on youth have focussed on issues such as drug abuse,
crime, violence, sexuality and poverty. In addition to these, today s youth are afflicted by new
challenges.
These include:

2. Lack of self confidence and low self esteem: I am worthless

As such the family and religion now have a minimal impact on the average youngster. The values
emphasized today include individualism, Godlessness, materialism, secularism and rationalism. It is
the youth who are encountering the most serious challenge to his/her faith under the impact of godless
culture of modernity.
Best minds in our society are not socialized by religious institutions. The emphasis is on
competitiveness, academic success, career goals, income and social mobility Little or no attention is
given to preparing tomorrows leadership. There is no emphasis is placed on critical thinking , problem
solving.
We are preparing followers, imitators conformists, and not leaders, innovators or problem solvers.
The youth is being asked to give up certain family and social values that were an integral part of their
identity, and adopt in its place a sense of self alienation, and become a self estranged imitator of
everything modern .
We need to pay close attention to the effects of secularism: confining the role of religion to the private
domain of the individual and creating a dichotomy between religious and worldly, between private and
public. It denies religion and its mediating institutions any public function and influence in shaping
matters of public policy.

Ruth St. Denis Research Paper
For my dance history lineage project, I chose three different choreographers who helped each other in
their careers. My timeline includes what choreographer taught who and when. The choreographer at
the bottom of my timeline is Ruth St. Denis. Ruth St. Denis was an American modern dancer who
started to dance in 1906. Taught by Ruth was Martha Graham who was also modern American dancer
and choreographer. Finally, Erick Hawkins was taught by Martha, along with being an American
modern dancer. All the people that I have chosen are modern dancers showing that that style was
probably famous then.
Ruth St. Denis, born in 1879, was from a small farm in New Jersey. As a child, Ruth learned exercises
based from Francois Delsarte, which was the beginning of her dance career. She enjoyed practicing
the moves of Francois allowing her to progress her career touring with a producer and director. Later

Analysis Of The Article Appropriation Of Mainstream News...
Effectiveness Critique
In the article, Appropriation of Mainstream News: How Saturday Night Live Changed the Political
Discussion , authors, Angela D. Abel and Michael Barthel, argue that alternative news sources,
primarily Saturday Night Live, have changed the means in which we obtain and interpret news and
information. The article s most significant argument is centered around the now famous Saturday
Night Live skit in which Tina Fey parodies Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential
candidate. In the skit, Fey and Amy Poehler impersonate Palin and Katie Couric s interview in which
Palin struggles to answer Couric s questions. According to the article, studies found that after the skit
was aired, there was a vast increase in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The quotes chosen are directly from an ABC report by Kate Snow, which includes both the real
interview and the SNL skit. In the video, Kate Snow made it seem like Palin actually said certain
things that were really said by Tina Fey (Abel Barthel). Many readers are not interested in taking the
time to review material online that is included in an article they re reading, so the direct SNL quotes
are valuable in making sure every reader, no matter their prior knowledge of the subject, can
understand the argument. The authors are able to delve into a significant amount of detail regarding
the SNL skit, due to the fact that the skit is the only example used in the article. The entire argument is
centered around the SNL skit with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, and how this incident demonstrates the
way that alternative news sources such as commentary, parody, and online content are increasingly
being incorporated into the mainstream information environment (Abel Barthel, 2013). While other
articles regarding alternate news sources and political discussion may include many different incidents
as examples, the decision to focus purely on one specific incident, the Sarah Palin skit, allows for
more detail, and a more in depth look at how said incident truly affected the political discourse at that
time. Having one, clear example to follow allows the reader to deepen their understanding of the
article without risk of confusing the details of one

Analysis Of The Movie I Happened Upon An Indie Film...
This past summer, I happened upon an indie film actress (and more) with an intriguing story, and I
was quite ecstatic when she agreed to an interview. While my busy schedule has kept me from sharing
it until now, Dawn Noel is definitely a thriving actress to follow into the new year and beyond. When
we chatted, she told me about the inception of her career, her eventual turn toward acting and
producing, and her endeavors for the imminent future. RH: Dawn, it s great to be able to chat with
you, and when I was looking up your story, I noticed you started out as a dancer. How long have you
been dancing? DN: Well, I started out at the age of three, and I ve been dancing my whole life. I went
to the High School for Performing Arts in Philadelphia, and then I got a BFA at the University of the
Performing Arts in Philadelphia. Then I moved to New York, and I started out as a classical dancer
doing modern dance with various dance companies. Most notable were Philadelphia s Koresh Dance
Company, Ballet Hispanico and Elisa Monte Dance companies. Shortly thereafter, the NYC and
Metropolitan Opera Ballets hired me, and I slowly moved into doing Broadway shows. I was in The
Lion King, quickly followed by In The Heights and Fame. and then I went on to touring with musical
artists like Madonna and Jennifer Lopez With Kelly Rowland I knew I always wanted to make a
transition to becoming an actress, so I started building those credits while I was dancing. I did some

The Killer T Cells
When an antigen is detected, several types of cells work together to recognize and respond to it. These
cells trigger the B cells to produce antibodies. Antibodies and their responding antigens fit together
like a key and a lock. Although antibodies can recognize an antigen and lock onto it, they are not
capable of destroying it without help. That is the job of the specific T cells, also called killer cells .
The T cells are part of the system that destroys antigens that have been tagged by antibodies or cells
that have been infected or somehow changed. T cells are also involved in helping signal other cells of
the immune system to do their jobs.
B cells recognize current or past antigens, mark what cells are invaders, and produce antibodies for
those antigens. The killer T cells are the cells that expel those antigens from the body. Killer T cells
have one objective and that is to be the terminator(imagine Arnold Schwarzenegger saying that) of
those viruses and antigens in your body. Helper T cells also regulate immunity. are they examples of
negative feedback?:
I believe that the actions of the T cells and B cells are good examples of negative feedback. Our
feedback mechanism detect, check, and respond to any changes in our body. When our bodies are
pushed out of homeostasis, negative feedback is an example of our body recovering from it. When we
are infected with an illness or when an antigen enters our body, that stimulus generates a negative
feedback or immune

Extensible Markup Language (XML)

What is the Extensible Markup Language (XML)? Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a subset of

The Philosophy Of Law And Law
The Philosophy of Law explains and covers various aspects of law. It provides an overview of the
diverse theoretical justifications for our legal rules, systems, and practices. In Philosophy of Law,
pages 171 through 299 covers the two major topics of International Law and Property. In covering
International Law and Property, there are many subtopics to understand. International Law stands for
the law governing the relations of states. This term was explained by Jeremy Bentham; since his era
international law has been a major topic in jurisprudence. International Law covers four important
subtopics within its concept: 1. Sources of Doubt, 2. Obligations and Sanctions, 3. Obligations and the
Sovereignty of States, and 4. International Law ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This prior question is: what is meant by saying of a whole system of law that it is binding ? The
statement that a particular rule of a system is binding on a particular person is one familiar to lawyers
and tolerably clear in meaning. To argue that international law is not binding because of its lack of
organized sanctions is tacitly to accept the analysis of obligation contained in the theory that law is
essentially a matter of orders backed by threats (177).
(3) Obligations and the Sovereignty of States gives examples of sovereign states and explains their
obligations under international law. Great Britain, Belgium, Greece Soviet Russia have rights and
obligations under international law and so are among its subjects. They are random examples of states
which the layman would think of as independent and the lawyer would recognize as sovereign . One
of the most persistent sources of perplexity about the obligatory character of international law has
been the difficulty felt in accepting or explaining the fact that a state which is sovereign may also be
bound by, or have an obligation under, international law. This form of skepticism is, in a sense, more
extreme than the objection that international law is not binding because it lacks sanctions. For

Public Administration Through Different Forms Of Management
The major theme prevalent throughout this week s readings is a detailed look at the study of public
administration through different forms of management.
The two main forms of management discussed in the passages by Shafritz Hyde (2012) and Chester
Barnard (1968) are scientific management and human relations school of management. The theory of
scientific management, first introduced by Frederick W. Taylor (1912, pp. 37 39) proposes that the
driving force behind a man s work is receiving a monetary reward. On the other hand the theory of
human relations, as suggested by Mary Parker Follet (1926, pp. 58 65) and later validated by the
Hawthorne experiments conducted in the 1930s (Shafritz and Hyde, 2012) propose that the driving

He (Barnard, 1968, pp. 65 81, 114 123, 186 199, 215 234) emphasized on the point that there was a
mutually dependent relationship between a formal and informal organization, and in order to achieve a
successful running organization (whether formal or informal) the executive/superior should ensure
that both the needs of the organization as well as the needs of the employee are met equally.
William Willoughby (1918, pp. 40 43), did prominent work in the field of public administration. One
of his most prominent work is on budgetary reform. Willoughby shared a similar school of thought as
Frederick Taylor, based on the principles of scientific management. Both Willoughby and Taylor,
through their own school of thoughts concluded on the same point that the driving force behind
management/administrative/individual ultimately is monetary/financial. Years later came along the
Luther Gulick, with the Theory of Organization (1937, pp. 81 89), who again shared Frederick Taylor
s ideology of taking a scientific approach to management. Gulick (1937, pp. 81 89) was famously
known for his mnemonic on the seven major functions of management: planning, organizing, staffing,
directing, coordinating, reporting and budgeting.
Weber s work on bureaucracy (1922, pp. 44 49) is considered the basis for the subject. Weber s main

prices. These are detailed in the areas below:
Current markets. AA is the largest U.S. commercial airline and one of the world s biggest based on

inflight Wi Fi availability (D Alessandro Kletzel, 2013).
The secondary market would be leisure travelers, who are considerably price sensitive. The
demographics of these travelers vary widely. Unlike the primary target market, these consumers are
always looking for a good deal and look for the cheapest airfare. Starting in late 2018, American

According to Baltimore police spokesman Anthony Gugliemi, they don t track PTSD numbers,
Nationwide, it s estimated as many as 18 percent of police are suffering from PTSD (Doane). He once
described it as, a hidden enemy. We don t really know it. We don t really understand it, Gugliemi
explained. Leaving officers untrained in the matter of mental health illness has led to many officers
not getting the proper care and treatment individually. Some may argue that counseling is given, and
that police officers are able to go to these sessions. However, the counseling [offered in the force] is
not mandatory (Doane). Making counseling mandatory would remove the stigma of asking for help,
and would also [hopefully] help the officers who are dealing with or have experienced on the job
traumatization. Asking for help can be very degrading, and could make someone feel weak in the eyes
of society. Having a shrink/therapist is frowned upon and opens doors to nasty comments and hushed
whispers. You might even be labeled crazy or something just has to be wrong with you, why else
would you have one? For police, their job is high demand and their emotions are often tucked away as
soon as they step into their uniform. Mandatory counseling will inform and help police officers and
their superiors who have preexisting trauma, dealing with, or is being exposed around possible
situations that can lead to

Auto Insurance Essay
Automobile Insurance
Insurance is a legal contract that protects people from the financial costs that result from loss of life,
loss of health, lawsuits or property damage. (Nielson.) This protection is given to the customer in
exchange for a monthly payment to the company. This is a legal contract which is known as a policy,
binds the customer to the insurance company for the duration of the policy. Insurance, whether it be
life, health or auto, helps customers feel safe from everyday risks that can happen in life. Most
insurance is optional, although some states enforce a law that automobile insurance must be purchased

There is also a type of coverage referred to ask medical payments coverage. If an accident occurs, this
coverage will help repay the driver or passengers for medical expenses caused by the accident. This is

(Heath 2.) One final type is the uninsured motorist coverage. This provides the customer with
protection from accidents with someone who has not purchased car insurance. This type would also
cover hit and run accident that may occur. Also, uninsured motorist insurance coverage comes into
play when an at fault driver doesn t have enough liability coverage to pay for the damages from the
accident. (Abramowitz 2.)
Insurance is a useful thing to invest in if you have possessions that are of value to you. It helps protect
you from accidents that a person cannot necessarily prevent in everyday life. Although insurance does
cost a large amount of money, in the long run the payback if an accident occurs, will be very useful in
taking care of the damages. There are many companies out there that offer insurance coverage. The
money invested helps a person keep things in order, so they are not scraping together when something
goes wrong. If you shop around you may be able to find the cheapest price for you and then will be

Critique Of An Article Aimed At Obesity Prevention Within...
A critique of an article aimed at obesity prevention within preschool children (aged 3 6 years old) An
article, published by Health Promotion Journal of Australia discussed the results of a 10 month study
focused on improving Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS), increasing fruit and vegetable
consumption, and reducing the consumption of unhealthy snacks (Zask et al. 2012, p. 10) within 18
community preschools of 3 6 year olds. Our perception of healthy eating is formed at an early age, and
by commencing an early healthy eating and physical activity plan it will provide children with a good
basis for adulthood. The aim of the study has been achieved by increasing fruit and vegetable
consumption and improving FMS which has led to a decrease in the children s body mass index
(BMI), an increase in fruit and vegetable serves in children s lunchboxes, and improved physical
activity skills (Zask et al. 2012, p. 13). The study has tried to minimise discrepancies in the data
collected by using the same researchers to collect the data/measurements and by ensuring the control
and intervention group were similar in socioeconomic status (Zask et al. 2012, p. 11). I felt the study
was unable to monitor the fruit and vegetables consumed and physical activity, out of preschool hours.

impacted on the data collected. Overall I felt, the study has achieved its goal of promoting healthy

What Are Tropic Hormones
Hormone Properties
Once hormones have been produced by glands, they are distributed through the body via the
bloodstream. As hormones travel through the body, they pass through cells or along the plasma
membranes of cells until they encounter a receptor for that particular hormone. Hormones can only
affect target cells that have the appropriate receptors. This property of hormones is known as
specificity. Hormone specificity explains how each hormone can have specific effects in widespread
parts of the body.
The hormones produced by the endocrine system are classified as tropic hormones. A tropic hormone
is a hormone that is able to trigger the release of another hormone in another gland. Tropic hormones

Have you ever heard of the American Revolutionary War? The Revolutionary War started in the
colonies after the Sugar Act (1764), the Stamp Act (1765), the Townshend Acts (1767) and the Tea Act
(1773). The revolutionary war started because the colonies were tired of being taxed by the British
Government. The colonists were not being represented in Parliament so they told the British
Government that they were being taxed without being represented, ( no taxation without

Gender Inequality And Ethnic Inequality
Introduction
To begin with, it might be necessary to define the terms of Gender inequality and ethnic inequality in
employment. While gender disadvantage refers to the prejudicial treatment of an individual or group
based solely on issues of gender (Robert, 2008); ethnic inequality indicates the unfair distribution of
opportunities and resources between the majority white and black and minority ethnic groups in the
labour market. The two issues have been rooted in the job market for long, and despite recent progress
of improvement, the issues remain and probably have evolved into more covert and complex forms. In
the following context, the two kinds of disadvantages will firstly be introduced respectively, together
with reasons behind the scene; yet, acknowledge the relevance of gender differences to ethnic
inequality, the explanations given for BME group s predicament will be aware of the overlaps between
gender and ethnicity issues; a brief conclusion will also be provided in the final part, however, given
the complexity of the picture, for example, the extent to which women and men from different ethnic
groups experience disadvantages varies (Vittachi, 2011), it is hard to generalise and any predictions
about future prospect may not be realized.
The Position of Women in the Labour Market
Over the last 40 years, women have achieved great success in gaining their equalities in the
workplace, this view is particularly advocated by a stream of feminists called Liberal

The Suicide Note By Janice Mirikitani
TOPIC
There are times when we feel like we must be perfect in other to please others. No matter if we did the
best we could, if it isn t perfect, we felt like a failure. We want the approval that comes with
perfectness but perfectionism is not the same thing as striving to be our best. Perfectionism is not
about healthy achievement and growth; it s a shield. Perfectionism is refusal to accept any standard
short of perfection. Suicide Note, by Janice Mirikitani, is about an Asian American college student
who commits suicide by jumping from her dormitory window. This poem is read as the suicide note
that was left behind by this young woman to apologize to her parent s for having received less than a
perfect four point grade average and not being perfect in life. Her last thoughts and feelings were left
on this note, describing why she did what she did. The pressure to succeed that this student felt from
herself and her parents was far too much to overcome. Even though the girl worked really hard and
did her very best, it wasn t good enough in her mind and maybe in her parents minds to be worthy of
her parents love or life itself and so her only option was death to atone for her sin of imperfection.
Sometimes pressure to succeed that a student feels from herself and her parents is far too much to
overcome.

The inclusion of students with disabilities in a traditional education classroom has been a subject of
controversy for many years. Often times it is at the center of discussion amongst administrators,
teachers, and parents. Inclusion is a philosophy and is meant to create settings where all students in a

weaknesses. Those who support inclusion believe that the child always should begin in a traditional

The symbolism then shows us the aspects of American thought and culture represented during that
time period. All this symbolism reveals Irving s attitude about the changes occuring in America during
that time. The Union Hotel takes the place of the Dutch Inn and is now a large rickety wooden
building with great gaping windows some of which are broken and mended with old hats and
petticoats. Over the door was painted, The Union Hotel by Jonathan Doolittle. This shows how times
are changing. They needed to make more room, because more people have come. The world is
expanding. The tree in front of the Inn no longer exists. Instead a tall, naked pole with the American
flag was there. Instead of a portrait of the ruby face of King George with the red coat and a sceptre
now had a blue and buff coat, with a man holding a sword. The head was painted with a cocked hat.
There were also large characters spelling the name GENERAL WASHINGTON. This shows that the
portrait of King George was probably painted over. This was done because some people still
remember King George, so they did not erase all the evidence of his existence. Instead of just a few
people at the Inn a large crowd was around the door. Rip describes the people as if their very character

Annotated Bibliography On Database Management Systems
The ability to store information has always been important for our survival. In the beginning,
information used to be shared by word of mouth. Then, with the invention of writing, data slowly
started to be stored in books kept in libraries, sorted in specific order that made them easily accessible.
Finally, the invention of the computers led to the evolution of databases.
Databases are important, because thanks to them humans are able to store and later on retrieve
information. The way in which databases arise is very simple. It all begins as a list in a word
processing system. As the size of the list increases, the data starts to appear inconsistent. If this occurs,
Database Management Systems come to help, due to the fact they can store a large amount of
information in a number of tables linked to each other. Programs such as Access are able to add new
data to a database or make changes to already existing data from the database; they are even able to
delete information.
These features assist people in analyzing and categorizing information in the following way:
Tables lie in the core of any given database. Thanks to them, the possibility of redundancy is greatly
reduced. A database can consist of a number of different tables which enables the researcher to break
information down into smaller (and easier to analyse) pieces. Just like spread sheets, they consist of
rows (also called records) and columns (fields). By using records, researchers are able to combine

Zarley s Actions
Ethics is the critical and structured examination that is responsible for how individuals and institutions
should behave when their actions affect others. In order to make the right decision, it is important to
consider the four types of ethical reasoning. These include consequences, fairness/justice, rights and
duties, and character/virtue.1 Laws are responsible for enforcing rules that have been created and
accepted by society and the government. Moreover, ethical and legal reasoning are closely related.
They both involve reasoning about what it would be OK to do, or about weather past behaviour was
right or wrong (legally or ethically) .1 This essay will examine the ethical and legal aspects of Zarley s
actions. While analyzing the ethical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, Zarley s actions directly link him to a breach of contract. This would mean that Zarley did
not act legally in the case. His employment contract states that all bank employees are required to
comply with the Code of Business Conduct (the Code ) ,1 which indicates that if we are approached
by an employee, supplier, client, government representative, or other third party with an opportunity to
engage in [bribery], we will report the incident to our manager, or through the confidential ethics
hotline .1 This part of the contract makes it very clear that if an opportunity to engage in bribery
occurs, it should be reported to a manager or through a confidential ethics hotline. However, even
though Zarley does not accept the bribe, he does not report it, which would be considered illegal, as it
is a breach of contract. This means that Zarley did not act legally in this instance.
In this case, Zarley s actions would be considered ethically right. This is because he wants to promote
good consequences and he is trying to avoid bad consequences, for everyone involved, in the long run.
He decides not to tell his supervisor about the bribe because Brady seems like a nice guy and he does
not want Brady to get into any kind of

Persuasive Essay On Iraq War
ISIL or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant has been terrorizing the middle east for some years.
Their terror has been felt all around the world. The senseless killing has been showcased all over the
world in their social media campaign. However, ISIL has shown that when given response they thrive.
Countries have given ISIL millions of dollars in order to save their hostages. America has stood strong
and has not fell to their demands. We must not give into pressure from ISIL and must refrain from
sending American boots on the Syrian and Iraqi ground. Americans should have learned from the war
on Iraq that we must be tentative on entering another foreign war. A war against ISIL could be
America s next dark era of history.
America s invasion of Iraq in 2003 led to many smaller branches of terror groups to form. ISIL
grouped as a small organization who pledged their allegiance to Osama Bin Laden s al Qaeda. In ISIL
s early days it was not a huge organization with swaths of land, it was dedicated in getting U.S. ...

Money that could have gone to improve our education, our roads,or our health care. 1.7 trillion dollars
was spent on a war that we are still fighting. We might not have boots down in Iraq, but we are still
fighting everyday to protect ourselves from terror organizations formed due to our involvement in the
Middle East. The money that we lost is not even the biggest issue.
How could we send our army into another war when we just brought them home. Under President
Barack Obama thousands of troops were brought stateside. How could we rip them from their families
again because we want to engage in another country s war. As Americans we must recognize when we
are needed and when we are not. As of now we need to let the Middle Eastern countries decide what
they want to do with terror cells formed in their countries. As of right now we need to focus on our
domestic issues rather than foreign

Persuasive Speech On Organ Trafficking In China
A. (Attention Gainer) Can you imagine being in prison and being forced to take blood tests and
medical exams? That these medical tests are what going to determine whether you live or not. You
probably cannot imagine that, but that is what is happening to many prisoners in China. These
prisoners are being tested for potential buyers in China for illegal human organ trafficking
B. (Reason to Listen) This practice is inhumane and unethical and we need to put an end to something
like this.
C. (Establishing Credibility) Through extensive research of human organ trafficking, I am confident
enough to be discussing this issue.
D. (Thesis) China is performing unethical acts for their human organ trafficking and we need to put an
end to it.
E. (Preview Main Points) Today, I am going to talk about how the Chinese government is lying to
their people, why this practice is still going on, and solutions to ending this problem.
II. Body
A. (Main Point # Problems/ Harms) The Chinese government has been deceitful to their people about
where the main source of their organs come from.
1. Chinese government has told their citizens that the organs they receive come from volunteers and
not from prisoners anymore. However, For the last decade or more, Chinese hospitals, aided by
internet advertising, have been major destinations for wealthy or well insured transplants tourists from
around the world (Danovitch et al., 2013, p. 1308 1309).
2. There has been much evidence that shows that

Descriptive Essay About Football Day
Beep! Beep! Beep! It s a normal Saturday morning as my alarm goes off at 11:45. I have an alarm for
every saturday morning at 11:45 so I can get up and watch Rutgers football. But first I have to get out
of bed and that s always a struggle in the morning. I don t think their has ever been a morning where I
feel good and refreshed. Whenever I wake up it s always groggy and awful but I cause that because I
stay out late on Friday nights. I finally get myself out of bed but i feel like I got no sleep. As i m
walking down my hallway my 22 year old immature brother comes out of nowhere and pushes me to
the ground. I was still half asleep so by the time I got up my brother is already downstairs. I want to

We struggle to get Fritz to drop the mouse but we eventually get him to. Matt and I start walking back
to the house talking about how bad Rutgers is. So, about 15 minutes pass Matt, Brian and I are sitting
in the driveway getting ready to go golf when my pager goes off. My brother and I Volunteer
firefighters and station 38. We get a decent amount of fire calls but almost all of them are false alarms.
But when that pager goes off there s nothing better then the adrenalin rush that you get. There was
only one problem, and that was that Matt was with us and he was not a firefighter so he could not go
with us. My brother kicks us out of his car and turns on his lights and speeds down the street. I look at
Matt and he knew that I wanted to go so he said yeah i ll go home. Matt leaves but now I have no ride
to the firehouse so I hop on my bike and start riding as fast as I can. I m riding so fast that I can t feel
my legs because they burn so much. I eventually get to tired so I just ride casually and check my
phone. My friends at the firehouse are texting in the group chat saying that it is the big one. Once I see
that, I stand up and start riding fast again. It s only about a 4 minute bike ride but it feels like it has
been 30 minutes. I finally get to the firehouse and throw my bike to the side and run into the door. Im

  • 2. Comparison Of Depression In The Big Sur By Jack Kerouac Depression affects 350 million people and is the leading cause of disability worldwide. Everyone deals with depression a different way but it is not easy, the best way is to see a professional and talk about it to try to let it all out, but most people come up with their own way. Depressed modern poets such as Jack Kerouac and Sylvia Plath tried to shock themselves into reality and heal their depression and feelings about certain subjects with alcohol and electroconvulsive therapy but could not. They both decided to chose the outlet of poetry and release their negative feelings by writing about similar themes. This becomes evident when one draws similarities between themes such as isolation, nature and love proven by examining The Big Sur by Jack Kerouac and many poetic works from Sylvia Plath. Being a popular poet can do alot to one, and if ones fans only care about their work and not their true feelings the artist tends to feel isolated. When one is depressed he/she tends to isolate themselves. Kerouac and Plath both do this when they are writing. In many of Plath s poems she writes about her loneliness, and in some she even tells God. Plath is so depressed that she associate s life with loneliness, which proves that Plath feels she is isolated God, but life is loneliness (Under the Night Starry Sky, Plath). Plath feels empty, she feels useless, she is tired and just wants to relax, this proves that Plath is giving up and she is so upset with her life that she does ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Disadvantages Of Membrane Distillation As time goes by, the fresh water supplement for living on the earth planet will become a serious problem [1 3]. In addition, the Middle East is mentioned as one of the poorest regions in all over the world in terms of water resources with less than 1% of the total available global freshwater per capita [4, 5]. Therefore, one of the strategic options to satisfy the current and future request for fresh water in countries established around Gulf is to build up desalination units. So, immediate need has arisen to construct economic units for water desalination. Nowadays, it has been proved that membrane separation processes have several advantages for desalination and water reuse of contaminated resources in comparison to the conventional separation methods [1, 6 8]. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... MD is a thermally driven separation process that utilizes a hydrophobic, membrane as a contactor media between two fluids kept at different temperatures where the separation is obtained by the mass transfer of the vapor phase. The driving force of the process is given by a partial vapor pressure difference that caused from the temperature difference [13 17]. Two advantages of MD are, the process performance is not highly affected by high feed salinity as see water, and has the theoretical ability to reach 100% salt rejection [13, 18, 19]. There are commonly four types of membranes arrangements for MD process: Direct Contact Membrane Distillation (DCMD), Vacuum Membrane Distillation (VMD), Air Gap Membrane Distillation (AGMD), and the Sweeping Gas Membrane Distillation (SGMD) [18, 20 22]. AGMD configuration is appropriated for water desalination [23, 24], on the other hand water gap showed higher thermal efficiency and less internal heat loss in comparison to AGMD [18, 25]. • 6. Interest Groups And Their Influence On Public Policy Interest groups are organized to create an influence in governmental policies. Interest groups abide by three structures: interest groups share common interests and goals, they are an organized structure, and they desire to influence public policy. Interest groups come in many different sizes and backgrounds but all are important to representatives and reelections. Interest groups typically release documents with representative report cards to indicate how well or not a representative is voting in Congress to that specific interest group s standards. According to Congress and Its Members, members of Congress may face a primary challenge in the next election if their voting strays to far from their promises and pledges to certain issues. Report cards are based off of the members roll call voting and is based on a scale from zero to one hundred. The scores also affect whether or not a member of Congress will receive support and financial aid during campaigns. There can be plentiful of issues to worry about when casting a vote as a member of Congress. The scores can positively and negatively affect a member especially if a member is trying to win reelection (Davidson, 1981). These scores are not used to indicate whether an interest group favors a representative and is also not an indicator of whether or not a representative is working for an interest group. • 7. The Revelation Of The New Testament This sanctified Divine Encounter establishes a connection within a realm of total purity and grace. Noticeably, Philip mentions again that one s Divine partnership resides beyond one s earthly fleshly one; impressing that one s spiritual, sexual essences with the Divine occur as one s true ultimate prize in life and afterwards into eternity as the New Testament states in Revelation 21:1 3. Even through, the direct expression of bridal chamber is none existent in the Bible; however, the reference of bride and/or bridegroom does exist in several books such as Isa 62:5, Matt 24:1 13, John 3:29 and Rev 21:1 2. Having these terms discussed there, conceivably gives credit to the realism of this state of being; in fact, within the New Testament the word bridegroom (referencing the Divine) is mentioned around seventeen times. In addition, the Apostle Paul, in Rom 7:4, proclaims this divine marriage. The appearance of this bonding terminology (bride, bridegroom, and bridal chamber) involving scared consecration; clearly indicates a divine union to permanently occur. One specify parable of Jesus, strangely likens the kingdom of heaven to ten virgins waiting for their marriage to take place with one bridegroom; in due course, the marriage indeed takes place with only five of the virgins invited in, Matt 25:1 13. With that said, the circumstance of apparent polygamy occurring is evident; however, this proves to be improbable due to Jesus teachings regarding marriage to one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Aztec And Norse And Greek Mythology Similarities When looking at the myths between various ancient cultures, distinct similarities appear between motifs and symbols of their stories. It is often speculated why these characteristics remain consistent despite differences in time, location, culture and beliefs. Looking at the similarities between Greek, Aztec, and Norse mythology can perhaps shed some light on this mystery. All three myths feature an apocalyptic event that starts a new life cycle, an element of sacrifice to retain order, and the death and rebirth of a god. The theory of James Frazer best explains why these similarities exist, possibly bringing a new perspective into the study of ancient mythology. To help understand the significance of these similarities, James Frazer s theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the death of the agriculture god Balder signifies the beginning of Ragnarok in the Norse story. After the series of destructive events, he returns to Earth from the underworld as it begins its new cycle. This makes it clear that his rebirth is somewhat representative of agriculture dying in winter and growing again in the spring, the season itself symbolic of revival. Likewise, in the Greek myth, Persephone s rebirth happens when she leaves to the Underworld during the winter and returns to the gods above during the spring. This is much like the vegetation cycle mentioned previously, especially with her strong agricultural association. Finally, in the Aztec myth, Quetzacoatl, the creator of humans, dies by burning himself out of remorse, his heart becoming the morning sun. His death preserves the life cycle since his rebirth as the sun becomes as a central part of growing and dying. It is in light of the latter that we can now understand Goytisolo s words upon receiving the Cervantes Literary Prize: Cuando me dan un premio, sospecho de mí mismo (El País, 2015). Such suspicion is indeed a well founded one, for his recognition as a major writer on the account of the Spanish state has only come after the exclusion of Iberia s Semitic roots by Franco s national Catholicism has been further secured through its ideological replacement via a Eurocentric ideology whose self representation obfuscates in Asian and African foundations. Therefore, in dealing with these psychopathologies, the main goal is to somehow wake the thinking brain up so that it could fire the needed neurons to finally control the emotional brain. It can be as simple as trying to talk some sense into the person. This is because when a person is listening, it is the neocortex that is being used and will therefore fire up more neurons. Miss Brill Reality Kelly Lee Professor Mello English 1B 10/17/14 Facing reality The story of Miss Brill, by Katherine Mansfield, is about an old English teacher, who lives by herself and visits the park every Sunday. Miss Brill sits at the same spot every Sunday, quietly observing her surrounding and listing in on other people s conversations. Through this observation, she pretends that she is a part of this extravagant play taking place in real life, but in reality, she is just sad and lonely and wants to be a part of something that she doesn t have. Miss Brill, is told through a third person limited omniscient point of view. Through this we do not know the emotional state of Miss Brill. At first Miss Brill comes off as a convincing character who we can symptomize with, but as we read on, we see that her perception is completely unrealistic. The story begins with Miss Brill getting ready to go on her Sunday trip to the park. She is deciding what to bring with her, when she pulls out this old box. What is inside is an old fox fur, What is happening to me? (100) she asks, as she took the fox out to stroke it back to life. It was like she sort of knew that she was taking pleasure in the only thing she cared for, which is only a non living object. • 19. Twelve Angry Men Character Analysis The way one person treats another is often a direct reflection of how they view themselves. People with poor self images are often quick to judge, demean, belittle, and rebuke others for their mistakes, shortcomings and flaws, simply out of spite or to protect their own reputation. This is true even in the 1957 MGM film Twelve Angry Men, where eleven of the twelve jurors attempt to convict a young man not based off of sound evidence, but off of personal prejudice and self righteousness alone. It was the leadership of the eighth juror, however, that convinced the other jurors to set aside their personal biases to acquit the young man accused of killing his father. In the film, the eighth juror, Mr. Davis, analyzes the self images of the other eleven jurors and displays the core values of humility, patience and mercy in order to lead the group to the consensus that the accused is not guilty. The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines humility as the quality or state of being humble and freedom from pride or arrogance . Humility, simply put, is the opposite of prejudice. In the film, many of the jurors enter the room with preconceived notions, falsified beliefs and irrational ideas about the accused. Others enter the room unsure of their vote and to protect their pride, immediately side with the jurors who believe the young man is guilty. Examples of this include how several of the jurors stereotype the accused on the basis of race and how the third juror in particular forms a bias against the young man simply because of his age and the fact that the young man reminds him of his son. Mr. Davis, however, takes another stance. In the book The Achievement Habit: Stop Wishing, Start Doing and Take Command of Your Life, Dr. Bernard Roth states that true mindfulness is seeing without judging (Roth 205). Mr. Davis perfectly models this quote as he approaches the issue with sympathy towards the young man in regard to his upbringing. • 26. The Killer T Cells When an antigen is detected, several types of cells work together to recognize and respond to it. These cells trigger the B cells to produce antibodies. Antibodies and their responding antigens fit together like a key and a lock. Although antibodies can recognize an antigen and lock onto it, they are not capable of destroying it without help. That is the job of the specific T cells, also called killer cells . The T cells are part of the system that destroys antigens that have been tagged by antibodies or cells that have been infected or somehow changed. T cells are also involved in helping signal other cells of the immune system to do their jobs. B cells recognize current or past antigens, mark what cells are invaders, and produce antibodies for those antigens. The killer T cells are the cells that expel those antigens from the body. Killer T cells have one objective and that is to be the terminator(imagine Arnold Schwarzenegger saying that) of those viruses and antigens in your body. It provides an overview of the diverse theoretical justifications for our legal rules, systems, and practices. In Philosophy of Law, pages 171 through 299 covers the two major topics of International Law and Property. In covering International Law and Property, there are many subtopics to understand. International Law stands for the law governing the relations of states. This term was explained by Jeremy Bentham; since his era international law has been a major topic in jurisprudence. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This prior question is: what is meant by saying of a whole system of law that it is binding ? The statement that a particular rule of a system is binding on a particular person is one familiar to lawyers and tolerably clear in meaning. To argue that international law is not binding because of its lack of organized sanctions is tacitly to accept the analysis of obligation contained in the theory that law is essentially a matter of orders backed by threats (177). (3) Obligations and the Sovereignty of States gives examples of sovereign states and explains their obligations under international law. Great Britain, Belgium, Greece Soviet Russia have rights and obligations under international law and so are among its subjects. They are random examples of states which the layman would think of as independent and the lawyer would recognize as sovereign . One of the most persistent sources of perplexity about the obligatory character of international law has been the difficulty felt in accepting or explaining the fact that a state which is sovereign may also be bound by, or have an obligation under, international law. The theory of scientific management, first introduced by Frederick W. Taylor (1912, pp. 37 39) proposes that the driving force behind a man s work is receiving a monetary reward. On the other hand the theory of human relations, as suggested by Mary Parker Follet (1926, pp. 58 65) and later validated by the Hawthorne experiments conducted in the 1930s (Shafritz and Hyde, 2012) propose that the driving force ... William Willoughby (1918, pp. 40 43), did prominent work in the field of public administration. One of his most prominent work is on budgetary reform. Willoughby shared a similar school of thought as Frederick Taylor, based on the principles of scientific management. Years later came along the Luther Gulick, with the Theory of Organization (1937, pp. 81 89), who again shared Frederick Taylor s ideology of taking a scientific approach to management. The two issues have been rooted in the job market for long, and despite recent progress of improvement, the issues remain and probably have evolved into more covert and complex forms. The symbolism then shows us the aspects of American thought and culture represented during that time period. All this symbolism reveals Irving s attitude about the changes occuring in America during that time. The Union Hotel takes the place of the Dutch Inn and is now a large rickety wooden building with great gaping windows some of which are broken and mended with old hats and petticoats. Over the door was painted, The Union Hotel by Jonathan Doolittle. This shows how times are changing. They needed to make more room, because more people have come. The world is expanding. The tree in front of the Inn no longer exists. Instead a tall, naked pole with the American flag was there. Instead of a portrait of the ruby face of King George with the red coat and a sceptre now had a blue and buff coat, with a man holding a sword. The head was painted with a cocked hat. There were also large characters spelling the name GENERAL WASHINGTON. This shows that the portrait of King George was probably painted over. This was done because some people still remember King George, so they did not erase all the evidence of his existence. Instead of just a few people at the Inn a large crowd was around the door. Rip describes the people as if their very character seemed changed. This shows how time has had an effect on how people act and behave. The people have a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Annotated Bibliography On Database Management Systems The ability to store information has always been important for our survival. In the beginning, information used to be shared by word of mouth. Then, with the invention of writing, data slowly started to be stored in books kept in libraries, sorted in specific order that made them easily accessible. Finally, the invention of the computers led to the evolution of databases. Databases are important, because thanks to them humans are able to store and later on retrieve information. The way in which databases arise is very simple. It all begins as a list in a word processing system. As the size of the list increases, the data starts to appear inconsistent. If this occurs, Database Management Systems come to help, due to the fact they can store a large amount of information in a number of tables linked to each other. Programs such as Access are able to add new data to a database or make changes to already existing data from the database; they are even able to delete information. These features assist people in analyzing and categorizing information in the following way: Tables lie in the core of any given database. Thanks to them, the possibility of redundancy is greatly reduced. A database can consist of a number of different tables which enables the researcher to break information down into smaller (and easier to analyse) pieces. Just like spread sheets, they consist of rows (also called records) and columns (fields). By using records, researchers are able to combine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, even though Zarley does not accept the bribe, he does not report it, which would be considered illegal, as it is a breach of contract. This means that Zarley did not act legally in this instance. In this case, Zarley s actions would be considered ethically right.
