The Hebrew Bible And The Bible Essay
The Hebrew Bible contains contradictory and inadequate information, which impacts my views about
what the Hebrew Bible, says and what the Bible means. It has multiple significances. It is evident that
various scriptures in the Hebrew Bible do not say what it means, nor does it mean what it says.
Ultimately, it s going to take some detective work in an effort to enhance interpretation further. [pg. 6].
In addition, I feel that portions, and not all of the Hebrew Bible should be re investigated, modified, re
instated and re interpreted to include all God s people, of all nationalities and religions in fairness and
justice. Why? The Hebrew Bible is interpreted by ancient religious authorities that possessed racist
values is why. As a result of these racist values, historical records of the existence of African American
people were eliminated from the Hebrew Bible. Martin Noth, considered to be one of the most
respectable Old Testament Scholars of all time, states in his book The Old Testament World (Fortress,
1966) that the biblical writers knew nothing of any Negro people (Dr. Dan Rodgers).
Besides the non existence there are myths, folktales, untruths, dysfunctional behaviors, back stabbing,
unbelievable violence, and stories that tend to make you say hum mm. For various odd reasons,
unfamiliar to me, my expectations of people and events of the Hebrew Bible are set higher and totally
different from what I had predicted. For example, I assumed

Identity And Ethnic Identity
5. What have you done to learn about different identities and how will you foster a community that
recognizes and appreciates these differences? (please limit answer to 400 words) From the time I was
in preschool until I graduated high school, I was a part of the Hawaiian language immersion program,
or Kula Kaiapuni. This program offers students the opportunity to receive a public education taught
completely in the Hawaiian language. As a Native Hawaiian, I felt it was necessary for me to complete
the program in order for me to connect to my ethnic identity. In addition to allowing me to become
fluent in Hawaiian, this program has taught me the importance of knowing my peopleʻs history and
realizing my responsibility to my people today. Without this experience, I do not think that I would
have such a strong foundation for and understanding of my identity as I do now. Since I was given this
opportunity to form a strong sense of identity and develop my own personal beliefs from a young age,
it has also taught me to respect the identities and beliefs of others. In the Hawaiian language there is a
saying that goes, Aohe pau ka ike i ka halau hookahi, which translates as, not all knowledge can be
learned in one school. This saying is one of the main ones that we are taught from a young age. To us,
it means that we cannot allow ourselves to become close minded to the opinions or beliefs of others
because something can be learned from each of them. Having a strong

How Did Giles Corey Change In The Crucible
Georg Christoph Lichtenberg once said I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what
I can say is that they must change if they are to get better. This is exactly what Giles Corey, John
Proctor and Reverend Hale were trying to do, bring change so things would get better. In Arthur Miller
s play The Crucible, a group of girls began to accuse every honorable person in town of witchcraft.
The witchcraft trials went so far as to hang nineteen innocent people, all because the girls said they
were witches. There were three honorable people, Giles Corey, John Proctor and Reverend Hale who
spoke up about the social injustices, but they were too late. These characters impacted the overall
outcome of the Salem witchcraft trials, but it did not put a stop to them. Giles Corey tried to speak out
and stop the trials, but was evidently pressed to death after not giving up names of other people
wanting it to stop (1226). Giles was primarily focused on the stopping of witchcraft in the beginning
of the play, he even hinted at the fact his wife may be using witchcraft. It discomfits me! Last night

And then she close her book and walks out of the house, and suddenly mark this I could pray again
(1151). This was the way he was trying to stop witchcraft at first, but then realized the social injustice
it was causing. Giles Corey was successful, to an extent, in bringing people to notice the social
injustice of the hangings. He brought a list to the court with signatures of townspeople who thought
the girls were lying, this contributed with Reverend Hale and his opinion about the lies, and Danforth
made sure to questions the girls more intently. The result of this, although, was not successful because
Abigail was able to convince Danforth of Mary Warren using

Essay on Regionalism and Its Effect on the Canadian State
Since the beginning of Canadian history, regionalism has had a prominent effect on the country`s
political system. The concept of regionalism can be defined as a political ideology grounded on a
shared sense of place or attachment and is discussed in terms of Canadian society, culture, economy
and politics.1 From the days of confederation, Canada has developed into regional cleavages and
identities based on various geographical characteristics, traditional lifestyles and economic interests.
Two of Canada`s greatest regionally distinct political cultures are known as Western alienation and
Quebec nationalism.2 Historically, the lack of regional awareness and accommodation within Canada
s central government has given rise to a great deal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, Ontario and Quebec have maintained their 24 member senatorial status. The four Western
provinces have 6 members each. Nova Scotia and New Brunswick both have 10 seats. Prince Edward
Island was given 4 out of the original 24 Maritime senators. Together, Newfoundland and Labrador
have a total of 6 members. Finally, Nunavut, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories stand in the
equation with 1 senator apiece. Along with the Senate`s original intentions, the principle of equality
between the provinces is evidently lost. The Senate primarily fails because it was formerly created to
balance out the representation by population which lies in the House of Commons however currently
only seems to reinforce it. In fact, Canada s central provinces, Ontario and Quebec, account for 60
percent of the seats in the House of Commons and almost half of the seats in the Senate at 46
percent.5 The inadequacy of regional representation is emphasized as the Canada West Foundation
clearly states: Canada is the only democratic federal system in the world in which the regions with the
largest populations dominate both houses of the national legislature. 6 With an unelected Senate that
no longer fulfills its role of equal regional representation and a House of Commons grounded on the
representation of provinces proportional to their population, the legitimacy of Parliament has become

The Best Day Of My Life
If you want to live a happy life tie it to a goal, not to people or things. I think to myself as my dad
yells up the stairs. C mon Mer, get ready, his fruity voice echoes throughout the halls, booming as if
he had a microphone. Echoing off the walls and filling the entire upstairs with his deep voice. Today is
the day, my greatest dream and goal finally comes true. The day that dad finally lets me tag along on
one of his missions for work. I ve been nine for about seven months and he said I was finally ready.
He didn t even get to go out on a mission with his father till he was twelve. That means I m way more
advanced than him I don t even try to be modest when I mention it practically every other second. This
is literally the best day of my life! I don t see how anything will ever top this, and the day has just
begun. I ve been learning ever since I could walk to follow in my dad and his father s footsteps to be a
Mercenary. It s one of the highest paying and provincial jobs in the Rapture Providence. Everyday I
put 110% into my training and studying. Now all my hard work is about to pay off. Dad has taught me
everything I need to know, and I ve learned a little about everything along the way. I swiftly throw on
my clothes, run downstairs, grab my FN Patrol Bolt Rifle, and take two steel bladed throwing knives
and sheath them to my body. Then I grab an apple and we re out the door. ***** Dad lets me scope

Definition Of Clinical Governance And Accountability
Introduction:
Within this assignment, the definition of clinical governance and accountability will be explored and
discussed using a literature search. A case example will be used and briefly discuss the accountability
of the nurse and other health professionals of professional standards, local polices and law.
Confidentiality has been maintained within the use of the case example.
A literature search was carried out for clinical governance using the British Nursing Index (BNI).
Results originated from 9,616 when Clinical Governance was inputted. Results reduced significantly
when definition of clinical governance was inputted to 1,278 into the BNI titles were read, before
articles were chosen for abstracts to be read. After abstracts were read, if appropriate the full articles
were read (see appendices 1). Clinical governance was first introduced by the World Health
Organisation (WHO) (Som, 2009) . Som, (2004) definition of clinical governance focuses on
Managing systems to improve outcomes of health care service delivery, the WHO (1998) definition
also focuses on improving health care services but additionally focuses on professional performance,
resource allocation risk management and patient satisfaction. Department of Health (DoH) (1998) has
described clinical governance as a framework which focuses on accountability of health care services
to improve services. Scally and Donaldson (1998) used the same definition in 1998. A contemporary

Contract Transfer of Title to Real Property Essay
What advice R.J. is likely to give Padrina depends predominantly upon whether she and Orande have
an enforceable agreement. For a contract involving an agreement to transfer title to real property, as
here, to be enforceable, more than offer, acceptance and consideration must be present. The contract
must also comply with the Statute of Frauds. The Statute of Frauds requires that either the contract or
some memorandum of it is in writing and that writing is signed by the party to be charged. The writing
must also contain sufficient evidence of the contract s terms. Here, we are told to assume there is a
contract. However, there is no mention or evidence that the contract is in writing. So, we need to see if

In many cases where the parties did not specify some terms, the courts will presume they intended to
act according to a normative standard in the community. Here, the facts state the parties had a
contract. So, we do not need to address the formation issues. The property description does not have to
be a legal description if the evidence shows that, as between the seller and buyer, there was an
understanding of which property was involved. Here, there is no legal description. But, there is no
evidence Orande owned any other property known as CALIacre in Las Nachos. Therefore, this note
probably meets the property description test. The note refers to the parties by name. So, it provides
that term. The note refers to Orande s agreement to sell and Padrina s to buy CALIacre with the
attached apartment. As a result, it provides evidence of their agreement to sell and buy. The notes state
the price as $1,500,000. So, it meets that requirement. When, as here, the parties fail to state the terms
of payment, courts presume payment is in cash at the time of closing. Here, the note refers to a
mortgage amount and Padrina s having the rest of the money in cash. Therefore, a court would likely
presume they intended a cash payment to Orande at the time of closing. If the parties fail to state a
closing date, courts infer they intended to close within a reasonable time after they entered into their

Witchcraft During Medieval Times
During medieval times, there was a constant uproar when it came to difference in religions, as leaders
preferred there be one sacred religion, Christianity. Around the 15th century, leading into the 16th
century, in European countries, such as Germany and surrounding providences, witchcraft became the
new practice, which was frowned upon. Anyone accused of being a witch, could not receive a fair
trial, as they were persecuted, tricked into confession, humiliated, inhumanly tortured, and put to death
by the numbers.
Witchcraft was known, as a practice, in which, one would give themselves, over to the devil; in return,
sorcery would be gained (Witchcraft Documents [15th Century], 1996). Due to fear, and the
misunderstandings, of natural disasters, witches were said, to be the cause of a multitude of events.
Uneducated, about the scientific reasoning, behind; miscarriages, the destruction of crops, any
lifeform that had perished, in addition, to any other mishap; inevitably, witchcraft would be to blame

VIII, supported, the persecution of witches.
The excerpt Innocent VIII: BULL Summis desiderantes, Dec. 5th, 1484, is a memoriam, listing desires
and requirements, as to how witches convicted, should be hunted and put on trial (Witchcraft

Persuasive Business Messages Essay
MANAGEMENT 101
BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
Why is it important to present both sides of an argument when writing a persuasive message to a
potentially hostile audience?
It is important to present both sides of the argument in a persuasive message to a potentially hostile
audience because one has to try and avoid angering the audience even more. What one aims to do is to
persuade the audience and let them know that they acknowledge the audiences view on the matter at
hand.
To show that one acknowledges the audiences view, one needs to catch the audience s attention this
can be done through addressing their side of the argument letting the audience know that their point of
view has been taken into consideration and then explaining to ... Show more content on

By stating ones side of the argument one can then explain how the decision made may help or aid the
audience in the future therefore it may help increase the audiences desire to change their view on the
matter which will more likely lead to a more positive response from the audience than hostility.
After collecting all the information on the topic of the matter at hand one can now formulate a way in
which they can convey the message to the audience without aggravating or offending the audience.
The way in which the persuasive message is to be conveyed should be convenient and most reliable to
one s audience.
The message has to be written in simple language so that the audience does not misinterpret the
message or be offended by the jargon used.
Grammatical mistakes have to be minimised in the construction of the message so that the message
comes across as having been carefully thought through. It should display good intentions and must not
be blaming to the audience but in fact it should help establish a common ground between you and the
audience, which will in turn help the smoother flow of communication and understanding between the
two parties.
Once the message has been created and proof read one would find the correct and most effective way
of sending the message to the audience. Face to face is usually best as it allows one to see the
audiences immediate reaction to one s message and if misunderstandings

Claude Monet Accomplishments
Through a series of solid strokes of paint in his canvas, Monet managed to present society with a
completely new outlook, literally, on one s visual aspect. Claude Oscar Monet, famous French painter,
was a highly innovative artist back in the 1800s. His works inspired other artists who followed suite
and teamed up promptly with Monet, soon enough gaining for themselves the title of The
Impressionists. He contributed not only to the art culture, but also to the entirety of society through his
paintings as if telling the world not to be afraid of anything different and emphasized the importance
to look at things with deeper perception other than that which our vision enables us to see. Claude

The painting Impression: Sunrise, or Impression: Soleil Levant, was what brought Monet his greatest
success. It hung in the first Impressionist exhibition in 1874 and is now displayed in the Musée
Marmottan Moret, Paris (Biography 2). Even though this was not his first or best painting it is the one
that has left the most mark, for it was the initial spark for Impressionism. It was this success that
earned him and other fellow artists the title of the Impressionists. Monet began to earn great amounts
of money and was able to move out to his dream home in Giverny. Monet s fortunes began to change
for the better as his dealer Paul Durand Ruel had increasing success in selling his paintings
(Biography 2). Money might not always be everything, but his profit was what enabled Monet to
move further ahead. Monet s further gain in income allowed him to find his perfect home and travel
more, making him more known to others. If it hadn t been because of Monet s success, the world we
know today, as well as the artistic aspect of our culture, would be missing a very important aspect; the

Architectural Styles Of The Ottoman Empire
Distinguishable characteristics like the form, method of construction, regional features, and the
materials used to make a building or any other construction, which helps in identifying that structure
amongst others are what comprise an architectural style. Architectural styles have a vast diversity as
they represent changes in beliefs, religion, fashion, and the invention of new technology over a broad
time period. Over the ages, different empires would rule over a region with each ruler of those empires
having their own unique perspective on their religion. Subsequently, when new empires would come
in power, they would then take inspiration from the previous empire s architecture and add or remove
characteristics from the architecture based on their personal religious perspectives.
In the same way, the Ottoman empire was influenced by styles of architecture from the preceding
empires, namely the Byzantine, Iranian, and Islamic architectural styles. As a result, the Ottoman
empire s architectural style has resemblances with the Romanesque architecture, which is a blend of
the ancient Roman and Byzantine architectures. And it also has similarities with the Gothic
architecture which was heavily influenced by the Romanesque architecture and subsequently by the
Renaissance architecture. However, all three of these architectural styles also have their differences
due to individual religious perspectives.

advisors. The first was his uncle, the Duke of Somerset, who became Lord Protector, and for the first

The abolition of chantries in 1547 under Edward allowed the money gained to help those who most

there were disastrous economic problems. Many of them were caused by debasement. This was where
a small percentage of the value was removed from each coin as it was made and then used to make

The Apartheid In Trevor Noah s Born A Crime
The Apartheid was initiated as a ploy for Europeans to better control the exploited populations for
economic gain, as maintaining tension between the different racial classifications diverted attention
from the Europeans as it fed hatred between groups. This assisted in minimizing unity between the
exploited to rally against European control as it backhandedly induced submission for survival. One
way of accomplishing this was by instilling laws that d force segregation, classification, educational
requirements , and economic purposes. The Population Registration Act of 1950 enacted, requiring
segregation of Europeans from Afrikaans . Following shortly, the Group Areas Act of 1950 was
enacted as a new form of legislation alongside the Population Registration Act. This detailed act

The Theme Of Survivor s Guilt In The Book Thief
Life and Death Vs Survivor s Guilt
Life and death and Survivor s guilt are both complex, multi layered topics that are used to develop the
characters in the book Thief. Throughout the novel, author Markus Zusak utilizes these themes to add
a hidden meaning behind character development. By comparing and contrasting the multiple facets of
both themes, only then can one truly realize the thought behind each and every word is the novel. Life
and death ,as well as survivor s guilt, are similar and different in the ways they cause change, how the
experiences cause characters to better their lives, and the everlasting impacts they have on the families

The Properties of Tradition Metals Essay
Transition metals are a group of metals that are considered dense and have high melting and boiling
points. They are located between the alkaline earth metals group and the boron group. The transition
metals are characterized by the number of inner energy levels that are occupied by the atoms. They are
then separated into 2 groups: d type transition metals and f type transition metals. D type transition
metals are mostly consisted of important metals (commercially) and the rare and unimportant metals.
They are ranged from very reactive to noble. The metals in this group all form a variety of different
alloys. The f type transition metals consists of lanthanides (rare earth metals) and actinides which is

Although this may be a lot, there is a lot of gold in the rock veins. In fact, more than half of the world
s total production of gold is using vein mining. Gold has been used for medicine and dentistry can be
dated back for thousands of years. The earliest record of medical use of gold was by the Chinese in
2500 B.C. For dentistry, the earliest use would be for using gold wire to secure substitute teeth and
were used by the Etruscans. Since gold is malleable and resistant to corrosion, it is ideal to be used in
dentistry. Most of the 20th century, gold has been used in medicine. For example, medicines that treat
rheumatoid arthritis contain gold. It has also been used in the treatment of cancer. Gold is also used for
implants as well as treating facial nerve paralysis. Gold is ideal for implants because they are very
resistant to bacteria.
Lagophtalmos is the inability to close the eyelids completely. The word lagopthalmos comes from the
Latin word meaning hare. This is because like a hare, a person cannot close their eyes completely
during sleeping. This is caused by a facial nerve paralysis. The most common type would be Bell s
palsy vascular lesion. Blinking is an essential in keeping our body healthy. When blinking, the tear
film spreads over the ocular surface and allows for there to be moisture in the eye. When someone is
unable to close the eyelid, it can lead to many corneal problems like blindness, bacterial infection and
many others. Although there are

Forgiveness In I Forgive The Man Who Shot Me
The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. This quote by Mahatma Gandhi
describes the character it takes to forgive an individual of wrongdoing. Forgiveness results in multiple
positive outcomes for both the forgiver and the person being pardoned. Shakespeare s The Tempest,
Keating s I Forgave the Man Who Shot Me and Bettencourt s Triumph of the Heart discuss the
importance of forgiveness in terms of moving on, freeing someone of guilt and finding happiness.
In order to move on from a terrible incident, forgiveness is necessary for both sides. For example, in
Keating s I Forgave the Man Who Shot Me Debbie Baigrie was able to move on despite being shot in
the face by Ian Manuel. People would say, stay away from him, what are you doing? says Baigrie
(with Manuel). But he s a human being. He s smart. He has a lot to contribute. Why not give the guy a
second chance? (Keating 71). Relating to the theme of forgiveness, Debbie was able to move on and
forgive this man for his wrongdoings. Without Ian apologizing and Debbie forgiving, neither one of
them would have been able to move on from this incident. That is why it is essential to forgive one for
their wrongdoings. Just like this, forgiveness is key in The Tempest. Prospero is able to pardon his
brother Antonio for his wrongdoings and plotting to kill the king, because of this, the two were able to
come to peace and move on without any violence, ... I do forgive / Thy rankest fault,

map I am used to. The compass used on the Hobo Dyer map is different than the compass used in a
normal map; the map is upside down. In terms of territories, the United States of America is located in
North America between Canada and Mexico. China is located in Asia between Thailand, Mongolia,
Nepal, and etc.
According to my research, in terms of population, China has greater population than the United States
of America. China s population is 1.382 billion, while USA s population is 318.9 million. The
following five countries are permanent members of the UN Security Council with their location on the
Hobo Dyer map: a China: is located in the northeast of Asia. b France: is located in east Europe. c
United Kingdom: is located in the southwest of Europe. d United States of America: is located in

Was Jim Jones Good Or Bad
Jim Jones did a lot that seemed good in his life (Merlot). He worked with people of all different
backgrounds to make their lives better and wanted to solve social problems. He spoke against the
racist stereotype of the white man and towards the new idea of a united racial group. Jones also did a
lot of bad in his life. Jim Jones was the craziest religious fanatic to live during the 20th century
because he brainwashed most of his followers, abused his power, and led the largest mass murder for
that decade in a single event. Jones was born to a poor family in 1931 in Crete, Indiana. His father was

Korean War After The Cold War
War doesn t determine what is right, only what is left, said Bertrand Russell. Everyone once in their
lives face Korean war in their history classes. Korean war, the first military attack after the cold war
occurred between 1950 to 1953 and left a hostile scar in the world with more than 5 million casualties
that the Koreas ended in a ceasefire, not a peace treaty, technically remaining the peninsula still at war.
The headline: Negotiations Break Down Between Two Koreas (Choe, The New York Times )
illustrates how the two Koreas failed to achieve an agreement as they couldn t narrow their differences
on holding reunions for separated families. In this negotiation talk, South Korea requested for
corporations on reuniting thousands of aging Koreans whose families are dispersed by the Korean war.
However, North Korea would carry out this only when the South agrees on continuing the tourist
business in collaboration with the North which was ceased after a South Korean tourist got shot by a
soldier from the North Korean army for roaming around the restricted area in 2008. The tourist
investigation had been a significant financial backer to the North and South Korea would resume this,
if they admit and apologize for their fault. Unfortunately, the talk was founded as a result of not
budging from its position. Later on, in August that year, they had a military engagement after two
South Korean border guards were crippled by the land mines from North Korea. In fact, breaking

had wanted to visit the de Young for some time and finally made my first trip there with my wife. We

Artists and Artistic Style
While I enjoyed many of the works of art at the museum I will focus on a few pieces that really caught
my attention. The first would be a contemporary sculpture, Anti Mass created by artist Cornelia
Parker. Constructed from wood, nails and wire, Anti Mass was made from the remains of a Southern
Baptist church which was burned by arsonists. Hanging in the air the church represented by charred
wood appears to be exploding outward. For me this was such a powerful statement and made me think
of the violent persecution of African Americans in the south. Because it was constructed from the

Crow Indian Tribe Research Paper
Crow Indians were one of the largest tribes, and they were very prosperous farmers. They had a sum
of 300 buffalo in their possession. The Crow Indian tribe had many different sacred beliefs and items,
and they are still living up to this day. The Crow Indian folklore stories are similar to those of the
Mandan and Hidatsa tribes. Some of the most influential mythological beings in their culture include
Old Man Coyote, Nirumbee, and Greasy Beast. In the Crow Indian tribe culture, the coyote plays the
role of both a wise creator, and a reckless adventurous. Some versions of Old Man Coyote include two
coyotes, one wise creator and one adventurous rebel who usually gets into some sort of trouble.

Debating the Takeover After the Death of the Prophet Mohammad
As we know after the death of Prophet Mohammad, the Muslim community turned into disorder and
people started to wonder what would happen now that he is dead as it was understood that he was the
last to come in prophets chain and there will be no one coming after him. Many debates began about
who should take over all the responsibilities he had as he was the spiritual, legal, political and military
leader of the community, so in other words, the debates were whether Muhammad had already
appointed a successor, if not, then who should be the leader. In this paper, I will discuss the issues of
Divine guidance between the two main political views that took the debates over when deciding the
successor after Muhammad and how the split between them has shaped the community.
We know that sometimes many events of history are told differently by different groups. The Sunni
view, which has become majority amongst Muslims, believe that there is no such procedure laid by
either Muhammad or by Qur an stating who was to become a successor. As stated the theory as well as
the practice of Sunnism had been to recognize only one caliph: as God s religion is only one,
reflecting the divine unity, so should God s best umma be one explains that, for Sunnis, as long as the
leader ruled under God, following the guidance of Qur an and Sunna, it was a role that could be
fulfilled out with any man, based on his piety and wisdom. Leadership was to be merit not by
inheritance, birth or family.

Analysis Of The Movie The Hollywood Thriller Fatal...
Since socialization occurs throughout the life span and since the mass media in industrial society
permeates virtually every aspect of a person s life, the media s effect on our concepts of self, although
impossible to determine precisely, are probably underestimated (Saucier 1986, 147). Mass media
forms of entertainment have the unique ability to impact large audiences across time and space. The
Hollywood thriller Fatal Attraction (1987), with its many references to Puccini s opera Madama

In the opening scenes of Fatal Attraction, New York City lawyer Dan Gallagher (Michael Douglas)
appears to live happily with his wife, Beth, and daughter, Ellen. After a few encounters with book
editor Alex Forrest (Glenn Close), Dan s morals are called into question. Alex and Dan enter into an
affair with different perceptions of their relationship. While Alex sees it as the start of a romantic
commitment, Dan regards it as a casual fling. This misunderstanding drives Alex to drastic measures:
she kills the Gallagher pet rabbit, kidnaps Ellen, and attempts to murder Beth. Repeatedly, Dan
unsuccessfully attempts to sever ties with Alex. The film climaxes in what will be referred to as the

Beth is preparing a bath. Alex has a knife by her side; she intends to stab Beth to death. Dan attempts
to rescue his wife by drowning Alex in the filled bathtub. Ultimately, it is Beth who defuses the threat

For this it is clear to see the improvement of the Burt s Bees commercials when there are two being
compared to one another. The first commercial is the Uncap Flavor: Fireworks commercial that
launched over two years ago. This commercial involves some new fun flavors of the Burt s Bees lip
balms. They display this by having black and white doodles in the beginning of the commercial then
an explosion of colors like fireworks when all the lip balms are shown. The second commercial is
their most recent, New Burt s Bees Lipstick Commercial. This commercial is displayed in a bright
green rainforest as the bold red lipstick slides down the wet leaves of the trees. This commercial also
has a very catchy love song in the background. When comparing the two commercials it is easy to see
the quality and attraction pull of the second commercial is greater than the first. The second
commercial stays true to the Burt s Bees natural, nature loving company while keeping an upbeat
positive vibe. Although the first commercial mentioned is also a positive one it is not as dramatic with
both contrasting colors as the first. I believe that Burt s Bees has stepped up their commercial game
and when I was looking for commercials to use in this essay Burt s Bees commercial song was the top
Google search about Burt s Bees that popped up. This shows that the advancement of using a catchy
tune makes the brand name memorable and

My Love Essay
I was loved even before I was born, that is what my parents always told me. To be loved and fully
accepted without reservation is their greatest gift to me. Raised by Christian parents who modeled
Christ s love, my early life was uneventful and peaceful. I followed the rules and never got in any
serious trouble. So for the first ten years of my life, my faith was not tested and had no chance of
maturing. My life of ease did not incite me to seek God or his purpose for me. God was in the
background for me then.
Then came some hard times. My easy life was shaken when my mom was diagnosed with breast
cancer. This was her second cancer diagnosis and more serious than the first. Real life stress and
worry came crashing in on me. Was I being punished for some wrong doing? Would my mom survive?
What would happen to me? I was just a kid, but I knew how serious this was. At first, I did not know
where to find help and comfort. Then I remembered seeing my parents turn to prayer and the Bible
especially when they had worries. I came across Ephesian 1:4, Even before he made the world, God
loved us/me and chose us/me in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. This verse reminded
me of what my parents told me when I was very young. God chose me to have a relationship with Him
through his Son, Christ. He holds me without fault because of the sacrifice his Son made for me. My
mom s illness was not a punishment because I have already been forgiven for my sins. I found peace

Ma Me LOye Analysis

Music History Final Paper

When and why did Ravel compose Ma mère l Oye (Mother Goose Suites)? How does each movement
of the piece convey the story line of the fairytales? Compare and contrast the piano version vs. the
orchestrated version of the piece.
Ravel began writing Ma mère l Oye between the years 1908 and 1910 as a four hand piano suite
meant for children, which later grew into a fully orchestrated 5 movement ballet with the help of
Jacques Rouché. Ravel began composing the piano suite for one of his dear friend s children. After the
piece premiered in 1910, it became very popular which then called for Jacques Rouché s attention. He
believed the piece could be reworked and orchestrated for a ballet. Ravel had to face the challenge of
turning the piano suite into a work of art set for a bigger stage. While Ravel composed he knew he had
to come up with a narrative for the ballet. He still wanted to maintain the youthfulness, and child like
fun of the piece by creating a story based off of the story of Sleeping Beauty. The Suite is made up of
five movements which are: 1. La pavane de la Belle au bois dormant (Pavane of the Sleeping Beauty)
2. Petit Poucet (Tom Thumb) 3. Laideronnette, Impératrice des Pagodes ( Little Ugly One, Empress of
the Pagodas) 4. Les Entretiens de la Belle et de la Bête (The conversations of Beauty and the Beast) 5.
Le jardin féerique (The Fairy Garden). The first and and final movement link all of

  • 2. The Hebrew Bible And The Bible Essay The Hebrew Bible contains contradictory and inadequate information, which impacts my views about what the Hebrew Bible, says and what the Bible means. It has multiple significances. It is evident that various scriptures in the Hebrew Bible do not say what it means, nor does it mean what it says. Ultimately, it s going to take some detective work in an effort to enhance interpretation further. [pg. 6]. In addition, I feel that portions, and not all of the Hebrew Bible should be re investigated, modified, re instated and re interpreted to include all God s people, of all nationalities and religions in fairness and justice. Why? The Hebrew Bible is interpreted by ancient religious authorities that possessed racist values is why. As a result of these racist values, historical records of the existence of African American people were eliminated from the Hebrew Bible. Martin Noth, considered to be one of the most respectable Old Testament Scholars of all time, states in his book The Old Testament World (Fortress, 1966) that the biblical writers knew nothing of any Negro people (Dr. Dan Rodgers). Besides the non existence there are myths, folktales, untruths, dysfunctional behaviors, back stabbing, unbelievable violence, and stories that tend to make you say hum mm. For various odd reasons, unfamiliar to me, my expectations of people and events of the Hebrew Bible are set higher and totally different from what I had predicted. For example, I assumed ... • 3. Identity And Ethnic Identity 5. What have you done to learn about different identities and how will you foster a community that recognizes and appreciates these differences? (please limit answer to 400 words) From the time I was in preschool until I graduated high school, I was a part of the Hawaiian language immersion program, or Kula Kaiapuni. This program offers students the opportunity to receive a public education taught completely in the Hawaiian language. As a Native Hawaiian, I felt it was necessary for me to complete the program in order for me to connect to my ethnic identity. In addition to allowing me to become fluent in Hawaiian, this program has taught me the importance of knowing my peopleʻs history and realizing my responsibility to my people today. Without this experience, I do not think that I would have such a strong foundation for and understanding of my identity as I do now. Since I was given this opportunity to form a strong sense of identity and develop my own personal beliefs from a young age, it has also taught me to respect the identities and beliefs of others. In the Hawaiian language there is a saying that goes, Aohe pau ka ike i ka halau hookahi, which translates as, not all knowledge can be learned in one school. This saying is one of the main ones that we are taught from a young age. To us, it means that we cannot allow ourselves to become close minded to the opinions or beliefs of others because something can be learned from each of them. Having a strong ... • 4. How Did Giles Corey Change In The Crucible Georg Christoph Lichtenberg once said I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what I can say is that they must change if they are to get better. This is exactly what Giles Corey, John Proctor and Reverend Hale were trying to do, bring change so things would get better. In Arthur Miller s play The Crucible, a group of girls began to accuse every honorable person in town of witchcraft. The witchcraft trials went so far as to hang nineteen innocent people, all because the girls said they were witches. There were three honorable people, Giles Corey, John Proctor and Reverend Hale who spoke up about the social injustices, but they were too late. These characters impacted the overall outcome of the Salem witchcraft trials, but it did not put a stop to them. Giles Corey tried to speak out and stop the trials, but was evidently pressed to death after not giving up names of other people wanting it to stop (1226). He brought a list to the court with signatures of townspeople who thought the girls were lying, this contributed with Reverend Hale and his opinion about the lies, and Danforth made sure to questions the girls more intently. The concept of regionalism can be defined as a political ideology grounded on a shared sense of place or attachment and is discussed in terms of Canadian society, culture, economy and politics.1 From the days of confederation, Canada has developed into regional cleavages and identities based on various geographical characteristics, traditional lifestyles and economic interests. Two of Canada`s greatest regionally distinct political cultures are known as Western alienation and Quebec nationalism.2 Historically, the lack of regional awareness and accommodation within Canada s central government has given rise to a great deal ... Nova Scotia and New Brunswick both have 10 seats. Prince Edward Island was given 4 out of the original 24 Maritime senators. Together, Newfoundland and Labrador have a total of 6 members. Finally, Nunavut, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories stand in the equation with 1 senator apiece. Along with the Senate`s original intentions, the principle of equality between the provinces is evidently lost. The Senate primarily fails because it was formerly created to balance out the representation by population which lies in the House of Commons however currently only seems to reinforce it. In fact, Canada s central provinces, Ontario and Quebec, account for 60 percent of the seats in the House of Commons and almost half of the seats in the Senate at 46 percent.5 The inadequacy of regional representation is emphasized as the Canada West Foundation clearly states: Canada is the only democratic federal system in the world in which the regions with the largest populations dominate both houses of the national legislature. 6 With an unelected Senate that no longer fulfills its role of equal regional representation and a House of Commons grounded on the representation of provinces proportional to their population, the legitimacy of Parliament has become a ... Anyone accused of being a witch, could not receive a fair trial, as they were persecuted, tricked into confession, humiliated, inhumanly tortured, and put to death by the numbers. It is important to present both sides of the argument in a persuasive message to a potentially hostile audience because one has to try and avoid angering the audience even more. What one aims to do is to persuade the audience and let them know that they acknowledge the audiences view on the matter at hand. The way in which the persuasive message is to be conveyed should be convenient and most reliable to one s audience. The message has to be written in simple language so that the audience does not misinterpret the message or be offended by the jargon used. Grammatical mistakes have to be minimised in the construction of the message so that the message comes across as having been carefully thought through. It should display good intentions and must not be blaming to the audience but in fact it should help establish a common ground between you and the audience, which will in turn help the smoother flow of communication and understanding between the two parties. Architectural Styles Of The Ottoman Empire Distinguishable characteristics like the form, method of construction, regional features, and the materials used to make a building or any other construction, which helps in identifying that structure amongst others are what comprise an architectural style. Architectural styles have a vast diversity as they represent changes in beliefs, religion, fashion, and the invention of new technology over a broad time period. Over the ages, different empires would rule over a region with each ruler of those empires having their own unique perspective on their religion. Subsequently, when new empires would come in power, they would then take inspiration from the previous empire s architecture and add or remove characteristics from the architecture based on their personal religious perspectives. In the same way, the Ottoman empire was influenced by styles of architecture from the preceding empires, namely the Byzantine, Iranian, and Islamic architectural styles. • 25. Forgiveness In I Forgive The Man Who Shot Me The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. This quote by Mahatma Gandhi describes the character it takes to forgive an individual of wrongdoing. Forgiveness results in multiple positive outcomes for both the forgiver and the person being pardoned. Shakespeare s The Tempest, Keating s I Forgave the Man Who Shot Me and Bettencourt s Triumph of the Heart discuss the importance of forgiveness in terms of moving on, freeing someone of guilt and finding happiness. In order to move on from a terrible incident, forgiveness is necessary for both sides. For example, in Keating s I Forgave the Man Who Shot Me Debbie Baigrie was able to move on despite being shot in the face by Ian Manuel. People would say, stay away from him, what are you doing? says Baigrie (with Manuel). But he s a human being. He s smart. He has a lot to contribute. Why not give the guy a second chance? (Keating 71). Relating to the theme of forgiveness, Debbie was able to move on and forgive this man for his wrongdoings. Without Ian apologizing and Debbie forgiving, neither one of them would have been able to move on from this incident. That is why it is essential to forgive one for their wrongdoings. Just like this, forgiveness is key in The Tempest. The AMA value is usually lower than the IMA but for two parts in our table that s not the case. For the first class lever, position 1) the AMA is bigger by .13 than the IMA which is 1. For the second class lever, position 3) the AMA is .25 bigger than the IMA which is 4. How does each movement of the piece convey the story line of the fairytales? Compare and contrast the piano version vs. the orchestrated version of the piece. Ravel began writing Ma mère l Oye between the years 1908 and 1910 as a four hand piano suite meant for children, which later grew into a fully orchestrated 5 movement ballet with the help of Jacques Rouché. Ravel began composing the piano suite for one of his dear friend s children. After the piece premiered in 1910, it became very popular which then called for Jacques Rouché s attention. He believed the piece could be reworked and orchestrated for a ballet. Ravel had to face the challenge of turning the piano suite into a work of art set for a bigger stage.
