Reflection On Social Justice
Georg Christoph Lichtenberg once said I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what
I can say is that they must change if they are to get better. Injustices can be explained as something
that is not to everybody s benefit, or simply something this is unfair. Going into this class, I did not
know much about social justice or cities in general. After being in it for a short 3 weeks, I have
learned a lot of new material and am excited to learn more. I believe that social justice is a
combination of the opportunities and freedoms within the different socioeconomic classes.
Growing up so close to Des Moines, I feel as if I have had plenty of experiences all of which helped
shape my views on social justice. I have lived in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are two things that immediately come to mind when I think about social justice in the real
world. Education is one. Typically, people are more prone to go to college if their parents or siblings
go to college. Going back to the topic of East Des Moines, East high school is not a school that is
looked well upon. The teachers are underpaid and most of the students do not care about their
education enough to go to class everyday. Knowing this, students from schools like that are less likely
to go on to college and get an education. This then leads to them not getting good jobs and making
enough money to support themselves. I believe that this is an injustice because those students do not
choose to go to schools like that, but they get started off on the wrong foot right from the start. People
look down on them because of the school they go to. The other thing I think about when I hear the
word social justice is Racism. Segregation is something that most people don t think is still a problem,
but unfortunately it is. They view segregation as an unfortunate holdover from a racist past, one that is
fading progressively overtime (Massey 1). African American people that live in rougher
neighborhoods, Chicago for example, are usually in the lower socioeconomic class. Being an African
American in the lower socioeconomic class makes it easy for white people to look down on them.

The Role Of Corporate Reputation Play Within...
1.What role does corporate reputation play within organizational performance and social
responsibility? Develop a list of factors or characteristics that different stakeholders may use in
assessing corporate reputation. Are these factors consistent across stakeholders? Why or why not?
Having a decent notoriety is the most imperative variable for any business. An organization can spend
numerous decades fabricating a decent notoriety with the utilization of value moral practices. The
issue is the notoriety can be discolored rapidly by a couple of slips in moral judgment. It is the
obligation of the pioneers of an association to be socially mindful so as to keep the notoriety clean and
untarnished. Being socially mindful means the organization must endeavor to be ecologically
benevolent, fair, monetarily capable, and evade sexual and racial issues. In the event that there are any
infringement including these themes, it can have an antagonistic impact on the partners of the
organization. Financial specialists are more prone to put resources into an organization with a strong
notoriety and one that is socially capable. A few variables that partners may use to survey corporate
notoriety are: Employee maintenance if there is a ton of worker turnover, the organization may be
unsteady. Item quality if the item or administration gave by an organization is solid, the organization is
most likely solid also. Consumer loyalty a content client will be a client forever. Moral initiative

The Analysis Of The Registration Process For A Pharmacist
The critical analysis of the registration process for a pharmacist in another Member State registering to
practice in the Republic of Ireland will be facilitated through an understanding of the influence of the
European Union and a comparison of the registration procedures outlined by both the Republic of
Ireland and the United Kingdom. The agreement of ROI to the European Treaty in 1973 on 1 January
has had and has a profound effect on all legislation including the area of pharmacy. EU legislation
predominantly comes in the form of directives or regulations. Regulations are considered mandatory
in their totality where as directives allow for implementation into national law sanctioning countries to
incorporate it using their own methods ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The improvements were necessary in order to comply with EU directives specifically directive
2005/85/EC which frameworks the free movement of professionals across member states and
exemplifies that previous implementation was inadequate. It is now acknowledged and regulated by
the Statutory Instrument no. 489/2008 (Ireland 2008). The authors Weedle and Clarke (2011); Appelbe
et al. (2013) have synopsised the criteria which must be met in order to be eligible for the EU route of
registration with regards the directive 2005/85/EC to practice in the ROI and subsequently the UK.
Firstly the applicant must be a citizen of a member state within the EU/EEA. The applicant must then
provide evidence of their qualification in pharmacy. The education/training prerequisites are outlined
in Article 44 of the EU directive (Directive 2005/85/EC). If the criterion there is met then automatic
recognition is permitted. Alternatively one must demonstrate a minimum of three uninterrupted years
of the past five years in a regulated pharmaceutical discipline/area as mentioned in Article 45. This
form of entry is as a result of acquired rights provision. This is for those who cannot comply with the
above mentioned training requisite. This maybe as a result of the applicant possessing the qualification

Balancing Individual Privacy with Press Freedom
Balancing Individual Privacy with Press Freedom
Alan F. Westin, a privacy expert at Columbia University, once wrote: Privacy is the claim of
individuals, groups, or institutions to determine for themselves when, how, and to what extent
information about them is communicated to others (self information control right). In this age of mass
media, individual privacy has become a casualty of journalists feeding frenzy and it has become really
hard for societies to determine the nature and process of information in the public domain. In this
article I reflect on the problem in Nepal s context.
Despite being a social animal, every human being seeks seclusion and solitude within the open mirror
of society. Privacy is inherent in the behavior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The current interim constitution (article 28) stipulates that except on the circumstance as provided by
the law, the privacy of the person, his or her residence, property, document, statistics, correspondence
and character is inviolable
Similarly, the constitution of the country also guarantees freedom of the press (article 15 interim
constitution, 2063). It ensures the right to freedom of press and publication. This right was included as
a specific fundamental right in previous Constitution of Nepal 2047.
Freedom of the press means the right to print and publish without any interference from the state or
any public authority. The liberty of the press consists freedom from prior restraints upon publication of
content. Freedom of the press also means freedom of dissemination, news and views from diverse and
antagonistic sources for the knowledge and welfare of the people.
The Press and Publication Act (2048), a new version of the earlier Press and Publication Act (2039),
also guaranteed the constitutional freedom of the press. The Gali Beizzati Ain 2016 (such as in article
3 and 8) recognizes freedom of the press. It says that every human being shall enjoy free press,
without any discrimination on the ground of race, color, sex etc.
There are, however, very few International Conventions which guarantee right to privacy, but there are
several conventions regarding press freedom. For example, the right to privacy is enumerated in
article 12 of the Universal

Evolution Of Public Administration Approaches
Evolution of Public Administration Approaches
The roots of public administration can be traced back to 400 B.C. when Plato developed the concept
of democracy, but more recently, economist Fredric W. Taylor in early 1900s developed the need for
budgets, cooperation between labor and management in order to become more effective (Gueguen,
2002). His concepts of scientific management, also known as Taylorism, promoted job optimization
and simplification in order to increase productivity. These scientific management principles were
further explored by German sociologist, philosopher, political economist Max Weber. Weber
advocated various concepts such as the development of standardized procedures with a clear chain of
command. He developed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other than hierarchy and meritocracy (Robinson, 2015), the old public administration had many
unique features. Those features included a centralized control with set rules and guidelines, separating
policymaking from implementation, and employed a categorized organizational arrangement
(Osborne, 2006). Few other central features of this model were, the separation between politics and
politicians on one hand and administration and administrators on the other, resources belong to the
organization, not to the individuals who work in it and limited public involvement with administrators
responsible to democratically elected political leaders (Denhardt Denhardt, 2015).
Old public administration played an important role in managing budgets and human resources in an
organization by targeting efficiency and effectiveness. These goals were achieved by first defining
specialized roles within organizations. These roles were then filled by qualified people who were
recruited based on merits. People were hired only if they meet all the required qualifications for the
job. The dominance of old public administration theory is still visible in today s recruitment and hiring
process. Whenever a new job opening is posted on Alameda County s website, there is always a
section specifying a list of qualifications. Applicants must meet those qualifications in order to qualify
for the interview. Every role in the organization was clearly defined with fixed duties and

Factors Affecting Access For Complementary Therapies
Factors Affecting Access to Complementary Therapies
Introduction:
There are many reasons why individuals may not be using complementary therapies, even though they
may benefit from using them. I am going to highlight some of these factors and explain how each
might be a barrier to accessing complementary therapies.
Knowledge:
Knowledge and lack of knowledge can have a major influence on whether individuals use
complementary therapies. For example; people may have heard negative stories about certain
therapies such as acupuncture, aromatherapy or massage. This negativity may implement fear of using
these therapies. Lack of knowledge may also case negative feelings, for example; individuals may
have never heard of certain therapies before that are now available in their local area. Some might
know about the therapy, but do not understand the benefits of using it.
In some cases, individuals may want to use a complementary therapy but may not know where
therapists are located. For example; if an elderly person did not have the internet, they would not be
able to search for clinics online. Thus, unless they already knew where to go, they would not know
how to find it, hence they could not access the service.
Lack of provision:
If there are not many places for complementary therapies in the area, it may be difficult to get an
appointment with a therapist due to high demand. This can cause service users to become frustrated
and impatient when they try to make an appointment.

Cinematography in Godfather the Movie Essay
Mario Puzo s The Godfather was the first and most influential gangster movie that paved the way for
gangster movies of the future. The movie was directed by Frances Ford Copolla, who made many
different ingenious ways to portray this gangster classic. The movie was a very subversive movie, and
one of the first of all time. The Godfather has a many different uses of light settings through the whole
movie, in which the movie can be interpreted on.
The lighting in The Godfather, is very dim and is often said to be compared with a Rembrant. The
lighting suggest many things throughout the film like a painting. The light scenes in the movie are to
portray the Corleone family as good people, someone you could relate to not look down upon. ...

The most perfect example of their family values is when Don comes home from the Hospital and the
family ahs a big dinner, and they do not talk business at the table. When the Family is look on as a
regular family as you get drawn in, you then see surprisingly and rudely awakened to the killings of
the movie.
The director of the movie(Frances Ford Copolla) has a very good use of montage, and long shots.
Capolla starts off the movie with an extrodonary shot of an undertaker saying this is America. Which
gives a glimpse of how haunting the film is going to be? A good use of long shots is perfect when the
camera pans around the long shot as Mikey takes on the responsibility of getting revenge for his
fathers shooting. Also a good example of Copolla s long shots is when the film is about to end and
there is a shot of Diane Keaton looking so innocent and really knowing nothing of the family business.
In the film, montage is used in the baptism scene. The shots cut when all the highly religious questions
are asked of Mike, and then the shots start cutting back in forth from the killings of the head s of the
other top five family s and the baptism, portraying mike as a changing person(a god man to an evil
one.)
The music of The Godfather, is very haunting and scary at times, but also takes on a folklore type of
theme. I think the music is typical for this type of film, but it does contribute a lot to the family values

Types Of Occupations Within The Workplace Essay
Often in the world there are jobs that come across as rather boring or tedious to complete day in and
day out. However, it is a must to keep these jobs as they allow us to provide basic needs for ourselves
in life. Some types of occupations consist of a specialised job, with this, the five core job
characteristics derived from the job characteristics model also apply to these jobs. Furthermore, the
five job features are known to be skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy and feedback,
each having their own importance. By identifying the characteristics, three redesigning techniques can
be implemented being establishing client relationships which are, combining tasks, establishing client
relationships and vertically loading the job. The specialised job holds the job characteristics and can
be redesigned as well to improve on some of those five task features.
Mortgage brokers are known to have very demanding jobs with having to settle deals involving
different types of investment properties, providing home loan services and organise large amounts of
documents. However, a mortgage broker may take upon a business intern or administrator which is a
specialised job, these individuals look after their documents and organise all their client files. A
specialised job can be further defined as a job composed of a small part of a larger task or process
(Williams McWilliams 2014, p. 156). A business intern seems like a fancy name, but a primary job for

The Human Eyes Of Primates
Sclera
One of the most variable aspects of the eyes in primates is the sclera. The sclera in primates comes in
multiple different pigments and SSI as seen in figure 2. In research on human eyes, evidence
concludes that through the sclera, health, age and emotion can be detected; redden or yellow sclera
detects decreased health, increased age, and even emotions of sadness or irritation, whereas bright
white sclera represents increased overall health [4]. The true purpose for the evolution of the sclera is
not completely clear, but many implications can be made to help researchers better understand the
complex evolution of the eye. One of the major topics for research on the eye is the discovery that the
purpose of the white sclera is to amplify gaze direction whereas the darker colored sclera is to do the
opposite; hide gaze direction from predators [5]. Not only can the sclera help detect emotion and gaze
but is a major factor in the evolution of communication between primates.
The majority of organisms that fall into the category of primates tend to live in relatively large group
size and work together within their habitats to increase the overall survival rate. There are multiple
benefits of living in larger groups which include increased genetic diversity, increased protection from
predators and even more opportunity for developing learning strategies [7]. On the other hand,
animals living in smaller groups do not necessarily have as much completion for resources or

Verbal communication is a two way process and should involve active listening. I will need to adapt
my style and method of communication based on whom I am communicating with. For example, if I

how I would communicate with a service user where communication is more informal. There are some
basic do s and don ts which can aid verbal communication. These are:

An Analysis Of Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
An Analysis of Chaucer s Miller in the Canterbury Tales Many characters in Geoffrey Chaucer s
Canterbury Tales link to the different social classes in England during the Medieval Period. The Miller
is a crude character who tells an entertaining, yet inappropriate tale on a pilgrimage to Canterbury
Cathedral. In the Prologue to the Canterbury Tales, Chaucer describes the Miller as a bold, garrulous
man and shows the morally incorrectness of the Miller. The Miller tells a vulgar but suitable story
which classifies him as a man of low social status with an uncouth, shrewd sense of humor. Narrating
his tale directly after the Knight s noble and honorable tale, the Miller tells a tale degrading
romanticism and love while exhibiting adulterous relationships. The vulgarity of his tale is one
example of the Miller s low social class. During the Middle Ages, a miller was generally a middle or
low class man who owned or operated a wheat mill. The social rank of a miller could vary, as
explained by Jeffery Singman and Will McLean in Daily Life in Chaucer s England, People s
positions in the hierarchy were considered to be of great importance, but sometimes the precise
gradation weren t entirely clear . . . However, it might be hard to tell whether the local miller was a
more important man than the local smith (9). Singman and Mclean are saying that one can not
categorize a miller into a specific social class, but can generalize a miller in the low to middle class in

Needing a Smartphone Today
In today s world, the smartphones has become a necessary item. Over the past years technology for
cell phones has changed the way we communicate. Today s technology has made communication with
family and friends much quicker and easier. The reason I selected Apple iPhone is because of the
innovative technology, how iPhone have changed the cellphone/pda market. It was a ground breaking
technology. IPhone were the first phones that were fully web enabled, there were other phones in
market that could do web browsing but apple iPhone were the first phone that were had full enabled
web browsing. Apple s iPhone product has been a tremendous success in developing the concept of a
smart phone. One might wonder, exactly, how did the success of the iPhone first begin?
Apple was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne on April 1, 1976. The first
iPhone was announced on January 9, 2007 at the MacWorld convection in San Francisco, California.
In the late 1970 s, Steve Jobs alongside co founder Steven Wozniak s introduced the first Apple
computer. 1 In review of all of Apple s failures and success, the company continued its performance
until 1984, where the first advertisement for Apple s Macintosh computer came into great success. In
April 2003, Job s expressed his beliefs that tablet PCs were not good choices as high demand markets
for Apple to enter. He believed cell phones were going to become important devices for portable use

Paints
Bottom paints and bottom paints for boats
Bottom paint is a covering applied to the lowermost point of a ship (hull) so as to get rid of growing
organisms that may attach to the boat especially at the lower parts or to protect the metallic parts of
the hull from corrosion. This is done to enhance the vessel s performance and sturdiness.
Another added advantage is the improved contact between a free flow mass of water and the hull of a
speedy boat enabling the boat to sail at a much faster speed.
Modern bottom paints are composed of biocides (chemical substance that hamper growth of marine
organisms), organotin compounds and lethal copper. Types of bottom paints SPC (Self polishing

Wash the hull surface carefully with a wax remover solvent and clean rags before you begin sanding.
Otherwise sanding a waxed hull only draws the wax into the scratches making it hard to remove it.
Stir By using a paint shaker, run it for a few minutes so as to distribute the copper and the dye evenly
throughout the paint. If you don t have it, decant half of the paint into a blending container so that you
can blend the remaining half thoroughly without spilling paint onto the ground. Maintain scouring up
the copper off the base of the container until the base feels clean. Mix in what you poured off up to a
point when the paint is standardized in color and evenness. Some areas won t be protected if the
copper is not well and evenly spread. Rolling the paint Revolve the bottom paint on the hull using a
roller cover. Extending the handle will make the job easier by keeping you clear of small drops the
roller will throw. Protect your body by wearing coats and gloves. Remember that this paint contain
chemicals which are highly fatal when they get absorbed by your body.
Load the basin of your paint dish with paint and begin the painting using your roller. Be quick because
many bottom paints dry fast. Every time you top up the paint dish, begin with mixing the paint in the
container so as to maintain the copper in suspension.
By the moment you are through, many bottom paints will be well dry to overcoat. It is also wise to

What I haven t crossed out I m dissatisfied with. ( Cecil B. DeMille Quotes. brainyquote.com. Brainy

Taggi s 95, in which the protagonist is discontent with his current life condition and keeps driving on

people are dissatisfied because of their insatiable desire for wanting more. This sad reality is

This suggests that Hank s parents, like many people in modern society, will not find happiness
because they live with insatiable desires and therefore will not get the feeling of satisfaction in their
lives. The characterization of Hank himself also shows how people in the contemporary society
always want more. For example, when Hank woke up from his dream about his socks, he realized that
nothing good or special or wonderful has happened to him. (7) This shows that Frank is idealistic and
has superfluous expectations in life. Also, Hank has a nice girlfriend who cares about him and loves
him, but he still thinks about how he would leave her even though there are no reasons for him to do
so. When his girlfriend asks him if he was happy, he says, Sometimes I am. Mostly, I guess I just feel
like I can t be really happy. Just missing something important. (7) Another passage would be when his
girlfriend asked him if he likes her, he answered: sometimes I like you and maybe I think I even love
you a little. And sometimes I hate you. (7) We can see that Hank is uncertain about his feelings for his
girlfriend and if she is the person that he wants to be with. Those are typical examples of a person who
is not sure about what he wants and believes that there is always something better waiting for him.
The thing that is missing for Hank is simply appreciating what he already possesses. From this
reasoning, it is clear that great

The Rights Opportunity Commission ( Eeoc )
The issue of discrimination is very widely discussed, so widely that laws and statutes have been
enacted and are continually addressed every day. This may occur in a courtroom, on the legislative
floor or at the employer s offices, but the fact that the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
(EEOC) receives around 80,000 discriminatory filings annually, with 99,922 in 2010, there is little
wonder the amount of attention to discrimination is warranted (Walsh, 2013). According to the EEOC
s website, the discrimination claims were more than the annual averages, but less than 99,000 in 2010,
at 88,788 in 2014 ( EEOC Releases Fiscal , 2015). These figures reiterate the importance and
diligence in which discriminatory acts must be handled by all parties involved. The discussion for the
complete section relates to an age discrimination case where a 53 year old director continually
observed administration admonishing its inability to hire young staff workers, to the point the director
was relieved of her duties after she claimed administration wanted her to fire older staff but she
refused and once dismissed, the director was on medical leave and told to report daily, when she failed
to do so, the administrators used that action as the reason for termination (Walsh, 2013).
Discrimination comes down to the legality of actions and not the fairness of public opinion. Even with
the need for an employee having the burden of proof, the likelihood discrimination in this case

Regional Anesthesia
Regional Anesthesia
Regional anesthesia is a type of medicine that temporarily blocks feeling in one area of your body.
You may have regional anesthesia before a medical procedure or surgery. A health care provider who
specializes in giving anesthesia (anesthesiologist) injects the medicine near a nerve or a group of
nerves. This makes that area of the body numb.
Regional anesthesia can be used alone or in combination with other types of anesthesia. Regional
anesthesia has many benefits compared to using general anesthesia on its own, such as:
Improved pain control after your surgery.
Less nausea, vomiting, or drowsiness after surgery. This is because less medicine is needed to control
pain.
A faster recovery.

Sydney Carton
Charles Dickens book clearly reveals the idea of resurrection through the character of Sydney Carton.
Although, in the 1980 version of A Tale of Two Cities directed by Jim Goddard, the same actor, Chris
Sarandon plays the role of both Sydney Carton and Charles Darnay. Through having such change
being made, it severely shifts the theme of the novel. For starters, the author is trying to reveal the idea
of resurrection but does so by the character of Sydney Carton and when he decides to give his own life
for that of Charles. Thus, when both characters are the same actors in the film, it also creates new
ideas of who Sydney really seeks to be, not only himself but Charles as well. Nevertheless, the whole
idea of resurrection is questioned due ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the novel, Sydney s character is portrayed as cruel and a man who has no purpose in life and
dishonorable among the community. In contrast, Charles is classy, and handsome. However, as Chris
plays both characters, it raises questions on who they really, and if after all they seek to be different.
As a result of the theme of resurrection shifted from the novel to the movie, it is relevant to state that
now these characters have slightly diverse significance and their standpoint is most definitely
changed. Due to the fact that both Charles and Sydney have been portrayed by the same person, it
reveals that after all they simply do not seek to be very much diverse. As a matter of fact, we see the
mischievous side of Charles when he fails to announce that he is related to the Marquis, he is part of
the Marqui family. This idea is greatly enforced as we see little to no evidence in the film that Sydney
is an unpleasant person. With that being said, the film almost shows a balance of malice of both
characters to emphasize the idea that although they can be portrayed physically different, overall they
are fairly similar. Nonetheless, the fact that Chris is playing both roles raises the doubt that in fact they
may after all be similar; Charles, is indeed not who he appears to be. The 1980 s version of the novel

The Analysis And Performance Of Two Different Mill Tools
Abstract
Milling is a vital process used in the industry to make and assembling the components. The extensive
and expensive experimental work is necessary to determine the optimal of machining process
parameters for obtaining the desired machined quality. In this regard, the present work is focused on
the relationship between the input process parameters and machined surface integrity for minimizing
the machined damage. Moreover, the paper presents the comparative analysis and performance of two
different mill tools such as a specially designed carbide tipped tool and a solid carbide tool.
Subsequently, comparing the evaluation of two tools was illustrated by plotting origin graphs. Finally,
experimental results were thoroughly analyzed by SEM to investigate the cutting characteristics of
machined laminates.
Key words: cutting process parameters, GFRP composite laminates, compression moulding, a solid
carbide end mill tool and a specially designed carbide tipped milling tool, SEM.
Introduction
FRP composites having superior material properties when compared with metals, improved corrosion
resistance, fatigue resistance, less weight to strength ratio and high fracture toughness. Hence GFRP
composites frequently used in several applications like sports goods, racing car bodies and aerospace
components [1]. Often composite products manufactured by near net shapes. The components made
by secondary machining processes are involving to get good dimensional accuracy and

What Does Kuhn Mean By Paradigm
1. What does Kuhn mean by the term normal science? What does he mean by paradigm? How are the
two concepts related to each other? A thorough understanding of what Kuhn is communicating when
he uses the terms normal science and paradigm is a vital component for individuals that read The
Structure of Scientific Revolutions. By understanding what Kuhn means when he uses these two
terms, one should be enabled to, perhaps, more accurately fully extract and understand the argument
that Kuhn is making within this book. According to the book, the term normal science is used to mean,
research firmly based upon one or more past scientific achievements, achievements that some
particular scientific community acknowledges for a time as supplying the ... Show more content on

Kuhn argues that paradigms contribute to a sense of order within communities because the community
s research is based off of a prearranged set of accepted beliefs. Paradigmatic boundaries contribute to
a sense of clarity that results from fact gathering activities within scientific communities. In contrast,
the collection of mere facts , which do not stem from paradigmatic boundaries of explanation, results
in nothing but puzzlement (Kuhn, 2012, p. 35). As a result, Kuhn argues that paradigms are vital for
establishing validity in regard to the questions and findings that are related to fact gathering activities.
In contrast, the absence of a paradigm would pose a major disadvantage for a hypothetical scientific
community that does not use a paradigm based approach for fact gathering activities. Kuhn believes
nothing but confusion could be derived from a collection of facts that belong to endeavors that are not
rooted in a scientific community s paradigm. In class, a paradigm was metaphorically compared to the
glue that binds a scientific community together. This metaphorical comparison was used in an effort to
illustrate the intimate relationship between paradigms and normal science that Kuhn describes in this
book. After reading Kuhn s book, and becoming well acquainted with his usage of paradigm in the
context of his book, I could not agree more with the argument that he is making throughout this book.
Therefore, it is obvious that paradigms mold fact gathering activities related to normal science, that
there are advantages to fact gathering activities stemming from paradigms, and that absence of a
paradigm would possibly plague a scientific community when scientists would try to approach fact
gathering

When you first begin, look for trees and begin punching them. A good idea is to leave the bottom
stump, jump on it and then punch upward to get the most from the tree without having to use steps,
and then remove the stump. After gathering a few stumps, make some wood planks and a crafting

fully enclosed and you have a few torches inside and maybe even outside to keep enemies from

Create a door for your house so you can easily enter and leave your house at will. If you choose to

Having a fully enclosed house with a door, torches inside and out, with a furnace and crafting table

Analyzing Scientific Argumentation On The Conflict
Resolving The Conflict 1. Need To Elucidate Scientific Argumentation When a subject matter is
described as beyond logic, it is not meant illogical or that it completely lacks the usage of

Between the firing electrons and the wall there was a frame deployed to obstruct the passage of
electrons with two slits that allowed them to pass. Electrons, being particles should hit directly behind
the slit, producing particle like behaviour. Something like this However, the electrons instead
produced wave pattern, which is only possible when a single electron passes through both the slits.
Some of the electrons even hit the area directly behind the barrier. Something like this This showed
that electrons have wave particle duality like the Light and it exists in a superposition which is a state
of potential innumerable possibilities of existence. However, what further astounded the physicists
was when a detector was placed to measure the passage of electrons to learn how it passes through
both slits; the electrons immediately collapsed their wave function and reverted to particle like
behaviour. Physicists then decided to act smart and switched on the detector once the electron had
passed through the slit. But it seemed somehow the electrons knew that it was being detected and it
immediately switched to particle like behaviour by adopting the passage from one of the either slit. In
a nutshell, every time the electron was measured, it dropped its superposition and wave function.
What stumps the physicists is the fact that what exactly counts as measurement that leads the electrons
to change their course. There are no concrete

Movement of the 1950s and 1960s was an extraordinary point in history. Two of the leaders of this

While going through a rough patch in my life, I knew that I need to get back to my roots so I decided

her I wanted to show a pig. Of course she did not want me to show a pig, which she was afraid she

The Importance Of The Tet Offensive In The Vietnam War
In late January of 1968, during the Vietnamese lunar new year known as Tet, the North Vietnamese
launched a coordinated series of attacks on cities and outposts in South Vietnam. The attack, which
went on to be known as the Tet Offensive, was an attempt from the Viet Cong to spark a rebellion in
South Vietnam and to send a stark message to United States, advising them to limit their involvement
in the conflict. Although U.S. and South Vietnamese troops were able to hold off some of the attacks,
the Tet Offensive was still a victory for the Viet Cong despite having received numerous casualties.
The Tet Offensive marked a turning point for the Viet Cong in the Vietnam war, with the attack
beginning the United States long withdraw from the country. Due to news coverage of the attack being
broadcasted on American television, public support for the war began to deteriorate, leading to more
people wanting for an end to the conflict. North Vietnamese Commander General Vo Nguyen Giap
had chosen the Vietnamese holiday, which occurs on January 31st, to break the stalemate in the war.
Giap believed that a coordinated attack would cause an unstable Army of the Republic of Vietnam
(ARVN) to collapse. He also hoped that this collapse would lead to chaos and a rebellion amongst
South Vietnamese citizens. The main reason for Giap s attack; however, was an attempt to cripple the
fragile relationship between the United States and South Vietnam. By the late 1960s, the strong

Changes Europe Experienced During The Industrial Revolution
Changes Europe experienced during the Industrial Revolution o The Industrial Revolution of the late

The Industrial Revolution serves as a key to the beginnings of cutting edge Western society. The same

Social Deviance Essay
When it comes to the hypothetical and useless questions that people often think of, one of the most
persistent ponderings is what would someone do if they were to achieve a very high level of power
such as a being a king. So how would I make such classifications of behaviors that were to be deemed
as deviant from the social norms of my kingdom? That is a question that proved to be quite intriguing
to me as a set forth to come up with a system regarding social deviance. My ultimate conclusion was
the laws regarding such deviance would be limited only to those at which lead to the violation of the
negative rights of others. This would include things such as rape, assault, and kidnapping in addition
to non violent aggressions such as stealing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My reasoning is that many forms social deviance are acts which ultimately are extremely subjective or
relative in terms of their nature. For example, saying things that are perceived as racist in nature is
widely viewed as being deviant of the social norms since they are incredibly offensive in nature. Thus
many areas even have created laws to combat such racist speech since it defies the social order and
also is said to incite people. However such deviance of social norms (by saying racist comments) is
quite relative since there are many contexts where such supposed racist speech could be within what
some would call the social norm depending on how such speech is handled. One example that I think
of would be Ice Cube s classic album Death Certificate which contains the song Black Korea. The
song was removed from the United Kingdom s release as they felt that the content of the song would
be classified as a violation of laws against racial incitement (which is viewed as being against the
social norm in the area). In some sense finding the song to be a deviant of social standards is quite
normal since the language of the song is very strong and includes language that obviously would be
found as offensive to those of Asian descent. So should the song be banned due to racial incitement
that goes against the social norms ( IT S NOT A BLACK THING ,

The Hands Of An Angry God By Jonathan Edwards
For the sinners who fail to cleanse their loathsome, tainted souls, angering the omnipotent God whose
hostility is presented in an infinite wrath, only a painful, torturing hell is held in their destinies. This
terrifying, ominous threat, presented in Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God by Jonathan Edwards,
amplifies the power of God, and renders a profound hatred toward impure sinners. Accordingly,
through his usage of the powerful rhetoric exposed by allusion, imagery, and metaphor, Edwards
produces a dangerous scene which effectively contributes to his formidable assertion regarding God s
animosity toward those who sin, and his capacity to inflict vengeance upon those who are suspects.

The glittering sword is whet, and held over them, and the pit hath opened its mouth under them
(Edwards 1); this resolute description provides readers with an intense mental image which cements
the idea that God has every capability to enforce a hellish punishment upon those who sin.
Additionally, it is not only true that God wishes to inflict punishment which is inconceivable without
the reference provided by Edwards, but that God loathes the sinners within a deep and profound
standard, projected by the dramatically detailed metaphor promoted by Edwards. In his metaphorical
message to the unconverted sinners, fit for the pits of hell , Edwards clarifies God s hatred toward
these accusers, stating that his wrath towards you burns like fire...he is of purer eyes than to bear to
have you in his sight; you are ten thousand times more abominable in his eyes, than the most hateful
venomous serpent is in ours. You have offended him infinitely more than ever a stubborn rebel did his
prince (Edwards 2). This comparison of hatred to the extreme, and agreeably odious actions and
creatures, effectively describes the rivalry between God and those who commit acts of sinning.
As presented by Edwards, sinning, an evil, and illicit religious act, prompts violent actions by the
powerful, exasperated God as a method of punishment to those who are loathed convicts. To

Local Self Government
Introduction
Local government institutions have always existed in India in one form or another since ancient times.
The present form of urban local government owes its genesis to the British rule. The initiation began
with Samuel Laing, member of the Viceroy s Council, in the Budget Speech (1861 62) proposing that
local services should be based on local resources. Lord Mayo s Resolution of 1870 introduced the
concept of elected representatives in the municipalities. Lord Ripon is considered the founding father
of urban local government as he implanted the concept of municipal authorities as units of self
government. His Resolution of 18 May 1882 on local self government dealt with the constitution of

The government had a direct link with the peasants instead of the feudatories. The Chola kings had
adopted the Yuvaraja during king`s rule. The orders of the kings were written and copies of it would
be sent to respective departments and officers. The royal priest was the reliable advisor of the King.
Development of local self government was one of the most striking features of administration of the
Chola dynasty. The villages were given autonomy despite centralised system of governance. The
Chola officials acted as advisors to village assemblies and there was no interference in daily
administration. Thus there was continuity in village administration despite political upheavals. The
general assembly was classified into tax paying villagers, Brahmins and traders. The central
government officers examined accounts and supervised the work of the tax paying villagers. The
village assemblies received gifts from rich men or from king for developmental activities. The
feudatories were unable to impede in the village management. Their job was very clerical in the sense
it was a mere collection of taxes and passing the share to the King.
Elaborate and complicated mechanisms are the attributes of Chola administration. Administration
under the Chola dynasty was systematically conducted. Autonomy along with centralization was

How To Build A Garage Door Openers
Having a garage means that you can go to bed at night without having to worry about your car being
parked out in the open. You do not have to worry about scratches, dust, dew drops, rain and most
importantly, gifts from birds landing straight on your windshield or the car roof. You can find your car
inside your garage as you left it there. However, having a garage also means another thing. It means
having to lift the door open and having to shut it every time you have to go somewhere. Thankfully,
that little problem has been taken care of by garage door openers. Garage door openers are motor

However, chain operated garage door openers are very noisy and can make a great deal of racket every
time you open and close the door. Belt driven ones are operated by belts which are flexible, operate
smoothly and do not make much noise. The third type, screw driven openers operate along a steel rod
opening and closing mechanism. However, these can also be very noisy due to the metallic nature of
the rod, and thus annoying. It is also important that you choose the type of garage door opener driving
system according to the location of the garage. If the garage is located away from bedrooms or the
master bedroom, then even a noisy opener would not be a bad idea. However, if your bedroom is
above or adjacent to the garage then you should opt for the least noisy ones to spare yourself and your
family the noise. These door openers are powered by motors with different power ranges. You can
conduct a research on the type of motor that you want by checking its speed of lifting and the electric
power that it consumes. Most motors include a battery operated backup in case of a power outage.
That way you would not have to worry about having the door being stuck midway or not being able to
open it at

Relative Formula Mass Scientific Method
What is meant by Relative Formula Mass (RFM)?
Relative Formula Mass is the scientific measurement that is used to measure the mass of one atom of
an element. Carbon is the standard atom for RFM, Carbon has a relative atomic mass (Ar) of 12.
How is Relative Formula Mass calculated?
Relative Formula Mass is calculated in a compound by adding up the numbers of atoms in the formula
and using the relative mass of each atom to calculate the total mass for each element and add up the
total mass of the compound to get the RFM. RFM uses relative atomic mass (Ar) to calculate mass. To
Wouk out the RFM of sodium hydroxide (NaOH), the relative atomic masses of the elements in this
compound are Hydrogen = 1, Sodium = 23, Oxygen = 16 to work out the RFM these masses must be
added together such as; 1 + 23 +16 = 40 RFM.
How to work out moles using Relative Formula Mass:
To work out Relative Formula Mass of moles (Mr) add together the relative atomic mass from all the
atoms in the chemical formula. The molar mass of a substance is the RFM in grams (g/mol).

having spent most of my formative years trying to be like everyone else around me, I never allowed
my inner self to grow. I was never encouraged by my parents to be inquisitive, to explore the
unknown, and to dare to be different. I have no doubt they were all of those things themselves,
because they are both extraordinary persons, having achieved measurable success by capturing the
American Dream. When I sat down with them over Thanksgiving break, I interviewed them and
confirmed that what they wanted was the best for me The path of least resistance (1) and they felt
obliged to provide that path by shielding and guiding me away from the unknown, even though they
endured and prospered from their worldly experiences. In 2006 I finally decided to take a chance and
dared to be different. This led me to a chain of decisions that literally brings me here today. First, my
employer propositioned me to move to New York City to work for our New York office. Had they
asked a year prior, I probably would have declined the offer due to my fear of the unknown and risk
aversive nature, but not in 2006. With little consultation and input from my parents I took that leap of
faith. Coinciding with this major decision was a dear friend s wedding in London in the

Included in the discussion of their cultures we will also touch on the way some countries feel about
these types of technology. It will be important for us to also talk about the environment. Then, finally,
we must talk about both the moral and ethical aspects of using robots to perform surgery. By
researching and reporting these things, it is our desire for everyone to not only have a better
understanding of the technology, but to consider it as an alternate source, if needed in the future. It is
technology like robotic assisted surgery that will help us have the long, healthy lives we all desire.
Description of the Technology (Melissa Cutrer)
Description
Computer assisted surgery and robotic assisted surgery are both technology developments that use
robotic systems to aid surgeons in surgical procedures. The term robot was first coined by the Czech
playwright, Karel Capek, in 1921 in his play Rossom s Universal Robots. The word robot is from the
check word robota which means forced labor. (Palep, 2009). Robots are taking on more of a role
outside of just imagination but in reality. Robots were once known as machines that performed
repetitive tasks and now they have taken on the role of being known as highly intelligent robots and
are becoming popular in culture with human like characteristics. Even though robots still are

The Protection Of Human And Civil Rights
Part 1: Background
Introduction: The protection of human and civil rights, has been a long fight, one that this world has
yet to win. The battles of this war are vicious: protests to overthrow corrupt governments are noble,
but at what price? Protests and rebellions of international magnitude echo with violence and civilian
casualties. A recent example of this war has been the Arab Revolts in 2010, which devolved into the
full fledged rebellions known as the Arab Spring. The already tense situations in the Middle East and
North Africa, imploded into protests against unfair governments and pursuit of these corrupt leaders.
The international community, especially those of democratic roots were quick to defend the righteous

His story reflected, the story of the community, poor with little options, making the best he could out
of a bleak situation, only to be humiliated at the hands of the government. Because of this, it is widely
believed that the reason for such intense rebellion, stems from a deep rooted dissatisfaction with the
rule of governments, and the lack thereof of civil rights (Sadian 24). This dissatisfaction had been
surmounting for years, and as the protests grew in size and scale, the need for change became more
prominent. The protests held in Tunisia, became an example to Northern Africa and the Middle East,
leading to a wave of unrest and rebellion. The spring began as Algeria, Jordan, Egypt, and Yemen, as
well as other countries began to rebel against their own governments, seeking rights that had been
denied to them for years. In the midst of these fiery protests, several leaders such as Sudanese
President Omar al Bashir announced they would not seek re election in fear that their citizens would,
too turn on them (Weyland 923). Others forcibly resigned after international and regional pressure:
Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali fled to Saudi Arabia in January of 2011, Egyptian
President Hosni Mubarak resigned in February of 2011; Muammar Qaddafi (Libya) was overthrown

Task Switching Essay
Running Head: Time Cost, Task Switching, Repeating Tasks
Task Switching Cost s Time
Brooklyn College City University of New York
Abstract
A replication of Task Switching Monsell 2003 experiment was done, which predicts a time cost when
switching tasks. 18 participants had to complete 100 randomized trials, switching between task repeat
and task switching trials. Reaction Times (RT) were recorded and reflected by experimenters, to
determine that there is a time cost involved when switching tasks as opposed to repeating the same
task.
Task Switching Costs Time
Many people take pride in the fact that they can multitask. A study Task Switching conducted by
Monsell concluded that multitasking, or switching ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When switching between tasks our brain goes between two different programs one for example for
counting and one for reading, therefore costing us time to switch between these two tasks. In this
experiment we tried to replicate the Monsell 2003 Task Switching experiment. 18 Participants took a
brief task switching test via program Revolution Maker . Each trial was randomly assigned. The
participants were presented with numbers one through nine and on each trial had to react to the
number, to identify either its odd or even or if the magnitude was either less than 5 or more than 5. We
hypothesis that when individuals are engaged in a cognitive task there is a time cost that occurs when
asked to switch between tasks as opposed to repeating tasks.
Methods
Participants:
18 undergraduate students from Brooklyn College participated in this study.
Materials:
A task switching experiment designed on the computer program Revolution Maker
Procedure:
Participants were led to an isolated lab room were they participated in a task switching experiment.
They were involved in 2 tasks a magnitude test and an odd even task. There was 100 randomly
assigned trials 50% task switch and 50% task repeat that were completed by the participants. There
were different type keys presented to the participants such as: z for an odd number, x for an even
number, m for a number ( ) than 5,

Case Study Of Pressure Hydraulics Company
Pressure Hydraulics Company in the given context, which is having trouble with their accounting
and employees processes. We put forward that this problem can be solved only by means of an
automated transaction processing system, which will support the business farm in all the
commercial purposes such as storage, collection, recovery and modification of all transaction
related information within the organization.
In accordance to the problems the company is facing as described in our context. In our view, we
would like to advocate the subsequent solution for Pressure Hydraulics:
1. Ensuring repeat business
 The said Pressure Hydraulics company necessities to start more credibility to be able to
get more customer loyalty. This can be completed by underestimating faults ... Show more content on

This would furthermore mean that the company will
have to let detonate some mechanism from the senior management and confidence in the
employees at each level with some point of control. The control structures will have to be tight
and suitably placed to make sure that internal as well as external progressions are in check.
Control systems have to be very robust so as to make sure there are no gaps which can be
operated by any person.
An additional trouble could arise in case of incorrect data entry. Data entry job is customarily
monotonous and there might be inconsiderate errors by the user who is obligatory to enter the
data. Likewise, fraud detection can be tricky in some cases of automated systems.
Consequently, it can be assumed that automated systems are desirable by the company, which
sorts AIS a very real applicable option.
A new system:
The Pressure Hydraulics Company can establish Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
that can affect the accounting systems of an organisation. Other parameters that influence AIS
are the supply chain and the customer relationship management system. The

Persuasive Essay On The Java House
The Java House, located on East Washington Street in Iowa City, Iowa is a major study hub for
students attending the University of Iowa. The founder, Tara Cronbaugh, opened the first Java House
locations in 1994 after taking a trip to The University of California, Berkeley and developing a
fascination with coffee house ambience. Cronbaugh admired the relaxing, yet social environment of
the coffee houses on Berkeley s campus. She felt she had a mission to bring that same ambience to a
place back in Iowa City for the students at The University of Iowa. Since then, hundreds of University
students visit the Java House every week to enjoy a wide range of beverages or homemade pastries.
However, The Java House has become much more of a study ... Show more content on

It makes logical sense to allow a table to be open for students who genuinely need to be there.
Another way The Java House convinces students at The University of Iowa to get their coffee to go if
they aren t going to study is by appealing to pathos, or emotions. The Java House engages all the
senses to promote a studious environment. Immediately entering the coffee shop, one will notice it is
dimly lit, with a darker color scheme and warm toned antique furniture. The color scheme, as well as
the lighting, invoke a sense of relaxation into University of Iowa student customers that is perfect for
studying and not so much for socialization. Although many students have earbuds or headphones in,
low volume, calm music plays throughout the shop. The music volume and genre allow for students to
stay on task and not to get distracted easily. The subtle smell of coffee also engulfs the whole shop,
creating an even more relaxing atmosphere. Lastly, when looking around one will notice the vast
majority of students are doing school work. All the senses work together to communicate that The
Java House is a quiet, relaxing environment ideal for studying and productivity, not for friendly get
togethers or dates. Therefore, if that was a student s intention they should get their coffee and go
somewhere else more lively, fun, or casual, so they could better enjoy themselves and make sure not
to disturb or distract those working at The Java House.

Compare And Contrast Two Views Of War
Compare and contrast essay
War is a scandalous topic where peoples views differ as to what war is. Some people see it as pure evil
and wicked while others think that it is brave and noble of what soldiers do. Looking at poems which
had been written by people affected by war help show the messages which are portrayed. The two sets
of poems which show different views of war as well as some similarities are the Charge of the Light
Brigade by Alfred Lord Tennyson, To Lucasta, on Going to the Wars by Richard Lovelace and Dulce
Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, The Song of the Mud by Mary Borden. Both these poets use
linguistic devices to convince the reader of their view of what the war is. Tennyson and Lovelace
show how war is worthy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lovelace s diction helps to develop the theme that war requires a passionate commitment from
soldiers and can be as consuming as a relationship with a person the poet uses many dictions
throughout the poem that suggests going to war such as chaste, mistress, embrace, inconstancy, adore
and love . Likewise, Tennyson s diction helps to develop the themes that war places soldiers under
extreme stress, and soldiers can fight bravely and honorably even if the result of the battle is
unsuccessful. In contrast, the word choices in Owen s poem supports the theme that war is destructive,
bitter, and violent, not the romantic efforts praised by those outside of it. Diction that has a strong
impact on Borden s poem is satin, ermine, chic , or words that have strong negative connotations such
as obscene, putrid, monstrous . Equally important, The Diction in Borden s poem support the theme
that war is indifferent to human life. Words that display The Diction in The Song of the Mud are
cursed, sludge, haunting, trudge, blood shod . Whereas The tone of Lovelace s poem is romantic and
slightly playful along with Tennyson tone, which establishes a serious and respectful tone that also
acknowledges the stress and confusion of war. Unlike the tone in the first set of poems, A great
example of irony in Owen s poem is Ecstasy (line 9), which usually associated with positive feelings
of joy or intense

  • 2. Reflection On Social Justice Georg Christoph Lichtenberg once said I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what I can say is that they must change if they are to get better. Injustices can be explained as something that is not to everybody s benefit, or simply something this is unfair. Going into this class, I did not know much about social justice or cities in general. After being in it for a short 3 weeks, I have learned a lot of new material and am excited to learn more. I believe that social justice is a combination of the opportunities and freedoms within the different socioeconomic classes. Growing up so close to Des Moines, I feel as if I have had plenty of experiences all of which helped shape my views on social justice. I have lived in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are two things that immediately come to mind when I think about social justice in the real world. Education is one. Typically, people are more prone to go to college if their parents or siblings go to college. Going back to the topic of East Des Moines, East high school is not a school that is looked well upon. The teachers are underpaid and most of the students do not care about their education enough to go to class everyday. Knowing this, students from schools like that are less likely to go on to college and get an education. This then leads to them not getting good jobs and making enough money to support themselves. I believe that this is an injustice because those students do not choose to go to schools like that, but they get started off on the wrong foot right from the start. People look down on them because of the school they go to. The other thing I think about when I hear the word social justice is Racism. Segregation is something that most people don t think is still a problem, but unfortunately it is. They view segregation as an unfortunate holdover from a racist past, one that is fading progressively overtime (Massey 1). African American people that live in rougher neighborhoods, Chicago for example, are usually in the lower socioeconomic class. Being an African American in the lower socioeconomic class makes it easy for white people to look down on them. Briana Gibson grew up in the rough part of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Role Of Corporate Reputation Play Within... 1.What role does corporate reputation play within organizational performance and social responsibility? Develop a list of factors or characteristics that different stakeholders may use in assessing corporate reputation. Are these factors consistent across stakeholders? Why or why not? Having a decent notoriety is the most imperative variable for any business. An organization can spend numerous decades fabricating a decent notoriety with the utilization of value moral practices. The issue is the notoriety can be discolored rapidly by a couple of slips in moral judgment. It is the obligation of the pioneers of an association to be socially mindful so as to keep the notoriety clean and untarnished. Being socially mindful means the organization must endeavor to be ecologically benevolent, fair, monetarily capable, and evade sexual and racial issues. In the event that there are any infringement including these themes, it can have an antagonistic impact on the partners of the organization. Financial specialists are more prone to put resources into an organization with a strong notoriety and one that is socially capable. A few variables that partners may use to survey corporate notoriety are: Employee maintenance if there is a ton of worker turnover, the organization may be unsteady. Item quality if the item or administration gave by an organization is solid, the organization is most likely solid also. Consumer loyalty a content client will be a client forever. The Analysis Of The Registration Process For A Pharmacist The critical analysis of the registration process for a pharmacist in another Member State registering to practice in the Republic of Ireland will be facilitated through an understanding of the influence of the European Union and a comparison of the registration procedures outlined by both the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom. The agreement of ROI to the European Treaty in 1973 on 1 January has had and has a profound effect on all legislation including the area of pharmacy. EU legislation predominantly comes in the form of directives or regulations. Regulations are considered mandatory in their totality where as directives allow for implementation into national law sanctioning countries to incorporate it using their own methods ... The improvements were necessary in order to comply with EU directives specifically directive 2005/85/EC which frameworks the free movement of professionals across member states and exemplifies that previous implementation was inadequate. It is now acknowledged and regulated by the Statutory Instrument no. 489/2008 (Ireland 2008). The authors Weedle and Clarke (2011); Appelbe et al. (2013) have synopsised the criteria which must be met in order to be eligible for the EU route of registration with regards the directive 2005/85/EC to practice in the ROI and subsequently the UK. Firstly the applicant must be a citizen of a member state within the EU/EEA. The applicant must then provide evidence of their qualification in pharmacy. The education/training prerequisites are outlined in Article 44 of the EU directive (Directive 2005/85/EC). If the criterion there is met then automatic recognition is permitted. Alternatively one must demonstrate a minimum of three uninterrupted years of the past five years in a regulated pharmaceutical discipline/area as mentioned in Article 45. This form of entry is as a result of acquired rights provision. This is for those who cannot comply with the above mentioned training requisite. • 5. Balancing Individual Privacy with Press Freedom Balancing Individual Privacy with Press Freedom Alan F. Westin, a privacy expert at Columbia University, once wrote: Privacy is the claim of individuals, groups, or institutions to determine for themselves when, how, and to what extent information about them is communicated to others (self information control right). In this age of mass media, individual privacy has become a casualty of journalists feeding frenzy and it has become really hard for societies to determine the nature and process of information in the public domain. In this article I reflect on the problem in Nepal s context. Despite being a social animal, every human being seeks seclusion and solitude within the open mirror of society. The current interim constitution (article 28) stipulates that except on the circumstance as provided by the law, the privacy of the person, his or her residence, property, document, statistics, correspondence and character is inviolable Similarly, the constitution of the country also guarantees freedom of the press (article 15 interim constitution, 2063). It ensures the right to freedom of press and publication. This right was included as a specific fundamental right in previous Constitution of Nepal 2047. Freedom of the press means the right to print and publish without any interference from the state or any public authority. The liberty of the press consists freedom from prior restraints upon publication of content. Freedom of the press also means freedom of dissemination, news and views from diverse and antagonistic sources for the knowledge and welfare of the people. The Press and Publication Act (2048), a new version of the earlier Press and Publication Act (2039), also guaranteed the constitutional freedom of the press. The Gali Beizzati Ain 2016 (such as in article 3 and 8) recognizes freedom of the press. It says that every human being shall enjoy free press, without any discrimination on the ground of race, color, sex etc. There are, however, very few International Conventions which guarantee right to privacy, but there are several conventions regarding press freedom. • 6. Evolution Of Public Administration Approaches Evolution of Public Administration Approaches The roots of public administration can be traced back to 400 B.C. when Plato developed the concept of democracy, but more recently, economist Fredric W. Taylor in early 1900s developed the need for budgets, cooperation between labor and management in order to become more effective (Gueguen, 2002). His concepts of scientific management, also known as Taylorism, promoted job optimization and simplification in order to increase productivity. These scientific management principles were further explored by German sociologist, philosopher, political economist Max Weber. Weber advocated various concepts such as the development of standardized procedures with a clear chain of command. He developed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Other than hierarchy and meritocracy (Robinson, 2015), the old public administration had many unique features. Those features included a centralized control with set rules and guidelines, separating policymaking from implementation, and employed a categorized organizational arrangement (Osborne, 2006). Few other central features of this model were, the separation between politics and politicians on one hand and administration and administrators on the other, resources belong to the organization, not to the individuals who work in it and limited public involvement with administrators responsible to democratically elected political leaders (Denhardt Denhardt, 2015). Old public administration played an important role in managing budgets and human resources in an organization by targeting efficiency and effectiveness. These goals were achieved by first defining specialized roles within organizations. These roles were then filled by qualified people who were recruited based on merits. People were hired only if they meet all the required qualifications for the job. The dominance of old public administration theory is still visible in today s recruitment and hiring process. Whenever a new job opening is posted on Alameda County s website, there is always a section specifying a list of qualifications. Applicants must meet those qualifications in order to qualify for the interview. Every role in the organization was clearly defined with fixed duties and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Factors Affecting Access For Complementary Therapies Factors Affecting Access to Complementary Therapies Introduction: There are many reasons why individuals may not be using complementary therapies, even though they may benefit from using them. I am going to highlight some of these factors and explain how each might be a barrier to accessing complementary therapies. Knowledge: Knowledge and lack of knowledge can have a major influence on whether individuals use complementary therapies. For example; people may have heard negative stories about certain therapies such as acupuncture, aromatherapy or massage. This negativity may implement fear of using these therapies. Lack of knowledge may also case negative feelings, for example; individuals may have never heard of certain therapies before that are now available in their local area. Some might know about the therapy, but do not understand the benefits of using it. In some cases, individuals may want to use a complementary therapy but may not know where therapists are located. For example; if an elderly person did not have the internet, they would not be able to search for clinics online. Thus, unless they already knew where to go, they would not know how to find it, hence they could not access the service. Lack of provision: If there are not many places for complementary therapies in the area, it may be difficult to get an appointment with a therapist due to high demand. This can cause service users to become frustrated and impatient when they try to make an appointment. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The lighting in The Godfather, is very dim and is often said to be compared with a Rembrant. The lighting suggest many things throughout the film like a painting. When the Family is look on as a regular family as you get drawn in, you then see surprisingly and rudely awakened to the killings of the movie. The director of the movie(Frances Ford Copolla) has a very good use of montage, and long shots. Capolla starts off the movie with an extrodonary shot of an undertaker saying this is America. Which gives a glimpse of how haunting the film is going to be? A good use of long shots is perfect when the camera pans around the long shot as Mikey takes on the responsibility of getting revenge for his fathers shooting. Also a good example of Copolla s long shots is when the film is about to end and there is a shot of Diane Keaton looking so innocent and really knowing nothing of the family business. In the film, montage is used in the baptism scene. The shots cut when all the highly religious questions are asked of Mike, and then the shots start cutting back in forth from the killings of the head s of the other top five family s and the baptism, portraying mike as a changing person(a god man to an evil one.) • 9. Types Of Occupations Within The Workplace Essay Often in the world there are jobs that come across as rather boring or tedious to complete day in and day out. However, it is a must to keep these jobs as they allow us to provide basic needs for ourselves in life. Some types of occupations consist of a specialised job, with this, the five core job characteristics derived from the job characteristics model also apply to these jobs. Furthermore, the five job features are known to be skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy and feedback, each having their own importance. By identifying the characteristics, three redesigning techniques can be implemented being establishing client relationships which are, combining tasks, establishing client relationships and vertically loading the job. The specialised job holds the job characteristics and can be redesigned as well to improve on some of those five task features. Mortgage brokers are known to have very demanding jobs with having to settle deals involving different types of investment properties, providing home loan services and organise large amounts of documents. However, a mortgage broker may take upon a business intern or administrator which is a specialised job, these individuals look after their documents and organise all their client files. A specialised job can be further defined as a job composed of a small part of a larger task or process (Williams McWilliams 2014, p. 156). • 10. The Human Eyes Of Primates Sclera One of the most variable aspects of the eyes in primates is the sclera. The sclera in primates comes in multiple different pigments and SSI as seen in figure 2. In research on human eyes, evidence concludes that through the sclera, health, age and emotion can be detected; redden or yellow sclera detects decreased health, increased age, and even emotions of sadness or irritation, whereas bright white sclera represents increased overall health [4]. The true purpose for the evolution of the sclera is not completely clear, but many implications can be made to help researchers better understand the complex evolution of the eye. One of the major topics for research on the eye is the discovery that the purpose of the white sclera is to amplify gaze direction whereas the darker colored sclera is to do the opposite; hide gaze direction from predators [5]. Not only can the sclera help detect emotion and gaze but is a major factor in the evolution of communication between primates. The majority of organisms that fall into the category of primates tend to live in relatively large group size and work together within their habitats to increase the overall survival rate. There are multiple benefits of living in larger groups which include increased genetic diversity, increased protection from predators and even more opportunity for developing learning strategies [7]. On the other hand, animals living in smaller groups do not necessarily have as much completion for resources or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. An Analysis Of Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales An Analysis of Chaucer s Miller in the Canterbury Tales Many characters in Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales link to the different social classes in England during the Medieval Period. The Miller is a crude character who tells an entertaining, yet inappropriate tale on a pilgrimage to Canterbury Cathedral. In the Prologue to the Canterbury Tales, Chaucer describes the Miller as a bold, garrulous man and shows the morally incorrectness of the Miller. The Miller tells a vulgar but suitable story which classifies him as a man of low social status with an uncouth, shrewd sense of humor. Narrating his tale directly after the Knight s noble and honorable tale, the Miller tells a tale degrading romanticism and love while exhibiting adulterous relationships. The vulgarity of his tale is one example of the Miller s low social class. During the Middle Ages, a miller was generally a middle or low class man who owned or operated a wheat mill. The social rank of a miller could vary, as explained by Jeffery Singman and Will McLean in Daily Life in Chaucer s England, People s positions in the hierarchy were considered to be of great importance, but sometimes the precise gradation weren t entirely clear . . . However, it might be hard to tell whether the local miller was a more important man than the local smith (9). Singman and Mclean are saying that one can not categorize a miller into a specific social class, but can generalize a miller in the low to middle class in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

IPhone were the first phones that were fully web enabled, there were other phones in market that could do web browsing but apple iPhone were the first phone that were had full enabled web browsing. Apple s iPhone product has been a tremendous success in developing the concept of a smart phone. One might wonder, exactly, how did the success of the iPhone first begin? Apple was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne on April 1, 1976. The first iPhone was announced on January 9, 2007 at the MacWorld convection in San Francisco, California. In the late 1970 s, Steve Jobs alongside co founder Steven Wozniak s introduced the first Apple computer. 1 In review of all of Apple s failures and success, the company continued its performance until 1984, where the first advertisement for Apple s Macintosh computer came into great success. Paints Bottom paints and bottom paints for boats Bottom paint is a covering applied to the lowermost point of a ship (hull) so as to get rid of growing organisms that may attach to the boat especially at the lower parts or to protect the metallic parts of the hull from corrosion. Another added advantage is the improved contact between a free flow mass of water and the hull of a speedy boat enabling the boat to sail at a much faster speed. If you don t have it, decant half of the paint into a blending container so that you can blend the remaining half thoroughly without spilling paint onto the ground. Maintain scouring up the copper off the base of the container until the base feels clean. Mix in what you poured off up to a point when the paint is standardized in color and evenness. This persistent feeling of dissatisfaction is suggested in Christopher Taggi s 95, in which the protagonist is discontent with his current life condition and keeps driving on the highway to look for better opportunities. This suggests that Hank s parents, like many people in modern society, will not find happiness because they live with insatiable desires and therefore will not get the feeling of satisfaction in their lives. The characterization of Hank himself also shows how people in the contemporary society always want more. For example, when Hank woke up from his dream about his socks, he realized that nothing good or special or wonderful has happened to him. (7) This shows that Frank is idealistic and has superfluous expectations in life. Also, Hank has a nice girlfriend who cares about him and loves him, but he still thinks about how he would leave her even though there are no reasons for him to do so. When his girlfriend asks him if he was happy, he says, Sometimes I am. Mostly, I guess I just feel like I can t be really happy. Just missing something important. (7) Another passage would be when his girlfriend asked him if he likes her, he answered: sometimes I like you and maybe I think I even love you a little. And sometimes I hate you. (7) We can see that Hank is uncertain about his feelings for his girlfriend and if she is the person that he wants to be with. Those are typical examples of a person who is not sure about what he wants and believes that there is always something better waiting for him. The thing that is missing for Hank is simply appreciating what he already possesses. From this reasoning, it is clear that great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. The Rights Opportunity Commission ( Eeoc ) The issue of discrimination is very widely discussed, so widely that laws and statutes have been enacted and are continually addressed every day. This may occur in a courtroom, on the legislative floor or at the employer s offices, but the fact that the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) receives around 80,000 discriminatory filings annually, with 99,922 in 2010, there is little wonder the amount of attention to discrimination is warranted (Walsh, 2013). According to the EEOC s website, the discrimination claims were more than the annual averages, but less than 99,000 in 2010, at 88,788 in 2014 ( EEOC Releases Fiscal , 2015). These figures reiterate the importance and diligence in which discriminatory acts must be handled by all parties involved. The discussion for the complete section relates to an age discrimination case where a 53 year old director continually observed administration admonishing its inability to hire young staff workers, to the point the director was relieved of her duties after she claimed administration wanted her to fire older staff but she refused and once dismissed, the director was on medical leave and told to report daily, when she failed to do so, the administrators used that action as the reason for termination (Walsh, 2013). • 17. Regional Anesthesia Regional Anesthesia Regional anesthesia is a type of medicine that temporarily blocks feeling in one area of your body. You may have regional anesthesia before a medical procedure or surgery. A health care provider who specializes in giving anesthesia (anesthesiologist) injects the medicine near a nerve or a group of nerves. This makes that area of the body numb. Regional anesthesia can be used alone or in combination with other types of anesthesia. Regional anesthesia has many benefits compared to using general anesthesia on its own, such as: Improved pain control after your surgery. Less nausea, vomiting, or drowsiness after surgery. This is because less medicine is needed to control pain. A faster recovery. There are three types of regional anesthesia: Spinal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although, in the 1980 version of A Tale of Two Cities directed by Jim Goddard, the same actor, Chris Sarandon plays the role of both Sydney Carton and Charles Darnay. Through having such change being made, it severely shifts the theme of the novel. For starters, the author is trying to reveal the idea of resurrection but does so by the character of Sydney Carton and when he decides to give his own life for that of Charles. Thus, when both characters are the same actors in the film, it also creates new ideas of who Sydney really seeks to be, not only himself but Charles as well. In the novel, Sydney s character is portrayed as cruel and a man who has no purpose in life and dishonorable among the community. In contrast, Charles is classy, and handsome. However, as Chris plays both characters, it raises questions on who they really, and if after all they seek to be different. As a result of the theme of resurrection shifted from the novel to the movie, it is relevant to state that now these characters have slightly diverse significance and their standpoint is most definitely changed. Due to the fact that both Charles and Sydney have been portrayed by the same person, it reveals that after all they simply do not seek to be very much diverse. As a matter of fact, we see the mischievous side of Charles when he fails to announce that he is related to the Marquis, he is part of the Marqui family. This idea is greatly enforced as we see little to no evidence in the film that Sydney is an unpleasant person. With that being said, the film almost shows a balance of malice of both characters to emphasize the idea that although they can be portrayed physically different, overall they are fairly similar. Nonetheless, the fact that Chris is playing both roles raises the doubt that in fact they may after all be similar; Charles, is indeed not who he appears to be. The extensive and expensive experimental work is necessary to determine the optimal of machining process parameters for obtaining the desired machined quality. In this regard, the present work is focused on the relationship between the input process parameters and machined surface integrity for minimizing the machined damage. Moreover, the paper presents the comparative analysis and performance of two different mill tools such as a specially designed carbide tipped tool and a solid carbide tool. Subsequently, comparing the evaluation of two tools was illustrated by plotting origin graphs. Finally, experimental results were thoroughly analyzed by SEM to investigate the cutting characteristics of machined laminates. Key words: cutting process parameters, GFRP composite laminates, compression moulding, a solid carbide end mill tool and a specially designed carbide tipped milling tool, SEM. Introduction FRP composites having superior material properties when compared with metals, improved corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, less weight to strength ratio and high fracture toughness. A thorough understanding of what Kuhn is communicating when he uses the terms normal science and paradigm is a vital component for individuals that read The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. By understanding what Kuhn means when he uses these two terms, one should be enabled to, perhaps, more accurately fully extract and understand the argument that Kuhn is making within this book. According to the book, the term normal science is used to mean, research firmly based upon one or more past scientific achievements, achievements that some particular scientific community acknowledges for a time as supplying the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kuhn argues that paradigms contribute to a sense of order within communities because the community s research is based off of a prearranged set of accepted beliefs. Paradigmatic boundaries contribute to a sense of clarity that results from fact gathering activities within scientific communities. In contrast, the collection of mere facts , which do not stem from paradigmatic boundaries of explanation, results in nothing but puzzlement (Kuhn, 2012, p. 35). As a result, Kuhn argues that paradigms are vital for establishing validity in regard to the questions and findings that are related to fact gathering activities. In contrast, the absence of a paradigm would pose a major disadvantage for a hypothetical scientific community that does not use a paradigm based approach for fact gathering activities. Kuhn believes nothing but confusion could be derived from a collection of facts that belong to endeavors that are not rooted in a scientific community s paradigm. In class, a paradigm was metaphorically compared to the glue that binds a scientific community together. This metaphorical comparison was used in an effort to illustrate the intimate relationship between paradigms and normal science that Kuhn describes in this book. After reading Kuhn s book, and becoming well acquainted with his usage of paradigm in the context of his book, I could not agree more with the argument that he is making throughout this book. Therefore, it is obvious that paradigms mold fact gathering activities related to normal science, that there are advantages to fact gathering activities stemming from paradigms, and that absence of a paradigm would possibly plague a scientific community when scientists would try to approach fact gathering ... The attack, which went on to be known as the Tet Offensive, was an attempt from the Viet Cong to spark a rebellion in South Vietnam and to send a stark message to United States, advising them to limit their involvement in the conflict. Although U.S. and South Vietnamese troops were able to hold off some of the attacks, the Tet Offensive was still a victory for the Viet Cong despite having received numerous casualties. My reasoning is that many forms social deviance are acts which ultimately are extremely subjective or relative in terms of their nature. For example, saying things that are perceived as racist in nature is widely viewed as being deviant of the social norms since they are incredibly offensive in nature. Thus many areas even have created laws to combat such racist speech since it defies the social order and also is said to incite people. However such deviance of social norms (by saying racist comments) is quite relative since there are many contexts where such supposed racist speech could be within what some would call the social norm depending on how such speech is handled. One example that I think of would be Ice Cube s classic album Death Certificate which contains the song Black Korea. The song was removed from the United Kingdom s release as they felt that the content of the song would be classified as a violation of laws against racial incitement (which is viewed as being against the social norm in the area). In some sense finding the song to be a deviant of social standards is quite normal since the language of the song is very strong and includes language that obviously would be found as offensive to those of Asian descent. You can find your car inside your garage as you left it there. However, having a garage also means another thing. It means having to lift the door open and having to shut it every time you have to go somewhere. Thankfully, that little problem has been taken care of by garage door openers. Garage door openers are motor powered devices that open and shut the garage doors. Some can be operated manually by switches installed inside the garage and others can be operated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, chain operated garage door openers are very noisy and can make a great deal of racket every time you open and close the door. Belt driven ones are operated by belts which are flexible, operate smoothly and do not make much noise. The third type, screw driven openers operate along a steel rod opening and closing mechanism. However, these can also be very noisy due to the metallic nature of the rod, and thus annoying. It is also important that you choose the type of garage door opener driving system according to the location of the garage. If the garage is located away from bedrooms or the master bedroom, then even a noisy opener would not be a bad idea. However, if your bedroom is above or adjacent to the garage then you should opt for the least noisy ones to spare yourself and your family the noise. These door openers are powered by motors with different power ranges. You can conduct a research on the type of motor that you want by checking its speed of lifting and the electric power that it consumes. Most motors include a battery operated backup in case of a power outage. That way you would not have to worry about having the door being stuck midway or not being able to open it at ... • 37. Relative Formula Mass Scientific Method What is meant by Relative Formula Mass (RFM)? Relative Formula Mass is the scientific measurement that is used to measure the mass of one atom of an element. Carbon is the standard atom for RFM, Carbon has a relative atomic mass (Ar) of 12. How is Relative Formula Mass calculated? Relative Formula Mass is calculated in a compound by adding up the numbers of atoms in the formula and using the relative mass of each atom to calculate the total mass for each element and add up the total mass of the compound to get the RFM. RFM uses relative atomic mass (Ar) to calculate mass. To Wouk out the RFM of sodium hydroxide (NaOH), the relative atomic masses of the elements in this compound are Hydrogen = 1, Sodium = 23, Oxygen = 16 to work out the RFM these masses must be added together such as; 1 + 23 +16 = 40 RFM. How to work out moles using Relative Formula Mass: To work out Relative Formula Mass of moles (Mr) add together the relative atomic mass from all the atoms in the chemical formula. The molar mass of a substance is the RFM in grams (g/mol). How the molarity of the standard solution (the alkali) was determined so it could be prepared accurately? ... The pure crushing darkness that swallows light like a starving man, but shines with the blaze of trillions of stars. Humanity had not come across another spacefaring race yet, but the Universe is a big place, with millions of light years between habitable planets, and even more between galaxies. The battleship Desolation slid through the same void, heading towards the Epsilon system. The ship was only visible when outlined by a star, its sides bristling with the outlines of laser cannons, rail guns, particle beams, missiles, plasma launchers, and the first of its kind, sitting in a turret above the main observation deck, the PSB. The PSB stands for photon sphere bomb, a weapon that could theoretically vaporize a whole planet. The bomb was made up of a sphere of one way glass that would have a small laser fired inside, to reflect around and grow in power until it shattered on impact, releasing a devastating blast of light and radiation. • 39. Essay about Life Changing Trip In the summer of 2006 I was inspired to do something that inherently would never have even crossed my mind. I was born and bred to be risk averse. My parents, the resolute material providers that they are, taught me not to fend for myself, but rather to avoid confrontation altogether. Their eastern culture centric and old fashioned way of child rearing has had a profound effect on the way I lived my life. However, their penchant for negative reinforcement and their inability to show physical affection never impeded me on having a fulfilling and moderately successful life. One great void, or what I perceived as such, was my lack of worldly experience. I was eligible to apply for a US passport for at least five years before I finally decided ... I often wonder what type of person I would have been had I stayed in Taiwan and grew up without the rigors and challenges that come with blending into a new culture. Only in hindsight do I realize that having spent most of my formative years trying to be like everyone else around me, I never allowed my inner self to grow. I was never encouraged by my parents to be inquisitive, to explore the unknown, and to dare to be different. I have no doubt they were all of those things themselves, because they are both extraordinary persons, having achieved measurable success by capturing the American Dream. When I sat down with them over Thanksgiving break, I interviewed them and confirmed that what they wanted was the best for me The path of least resistance (1) and they felt obliged to provide that path by shielding and guiding me away from the unknown, even though they endured and prospered from their worldly experiences. In 2006 I finally decided to take a chance and dared to be different. This led me to a chain of decisions that literally brings me here today. First, my employer propositioned me to move to New York City to work for our New York office. Had they asked a year prior, I probably would have declined the offer due to my fear of the unknown and risk aversive nature, but not in 2006. With little consultation and input from my parents I took that leap of faith. Coinciding with this major decision was a dear friend s wedding in London in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The battles of this war are vicious: protests to overthrow corrupt governments are noble, but at what price? Protests and rebellions of international magnitude echo with violence and civilian casualties. A recent example of this war has been the Arab Revolts in 2010, which devolved into the full fledged rebellions known as the Arab Spring. The already tense situations in the Middle East and North Africa, imploded into protests against unfair governments and pursuit of these corrupt leaders. His story reflected, the story of the community, poor with little options, making the best he could out of a bleak situation, only to be humiliated at the hands of the government. Because of this, it is widely believed that the reason for such intense rebellion, stems from a deep rooted dissatisfaction with the rule of governments, and the lack thereof of civil rights (Sadian 24). This dissatisfaction had been surmounting for years, and as the protests grew in size and scale, the need for change became more prominent. The protests held in Tunisia, became an example to Northern Africa and the Middle East, leading to a wave of unrest and rebellion. The spring began as Algeria, Jordan, Egypt, and Yemen, as well as other countries began to rebel against their own governments, seeking rights that had been denied to them for years. In the midst of these fiery protests, several leaders such as Sudanese President Omar al Bashir announced they would not seek re election in fear that their citizens would, too turn on them (Weyland 923). The participants were presented with numbers one through nine and on each trial had to react to the number, to identify either its odd or even or if the magnitude was either less than 5 or more than 5. We hypothesis that when individuals are engaged in a cognitive task there is a time cost that occurs when asked to switch between tasks as opposed to repeating tasks. Cronbaugh admired the relaxing, yet social environment of the coffee houses on Berkeley s campus. She felt she had a mission to bring that same ambience to a place back in Iowa City for the students at The University of Iowa. Some people see it as pure evil and wicked while others think that it is brave and noble of what soldiers do. Looking at poems which had been written by people affected by war help show the messages which are portrayed. The two sets of poems which show different views of war as well as some similarities are the Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred Lord Tennyson, To Lucasta, on Going to the Wars by Richard Lovelace and Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, The Song of the Mud by Mary Borden. Lovelace s diction helps to develop the theme that war requires a passionate commitment from soldiers and can be as consuming as a relationship with a person the poet uses many dictions throughout the poem that suggests going to war such as chaste, mistress, embrace, inconstancy, adore and love . Likewise, Tennyson s diction helps to develop the themes that war places soldiers under extreme stress, and soldiers can fight bravely and honorably even if the result of the battle is unsuccessful. In contrast, the word choices in Owen s poem supports the theme that war is destructive, bitter, and violent, not the romantic efforts praised by those outside of it.
