Dr. Nash Case Study
During the course of this trial, you saw how one man solved his 20 billion dollar problem. It was the
prosecution s burden to prove my client guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. As the defense, we carried
no burden in today s trial. However, you still saw that this was Dr. Nash s problem, Dr. Nash s plan,
and Dr. Nash s patsy. First, it was Dr. Nash s problem. You heard how a computer glitch was causing
Dr. Nash to mentally deteriorate at work. This glitch was causing a net loss on every car Dr. Nash
produced. But if something were to happen to the plant, Nash wouldn t be responsible for returning
that preorder money. He had 20 billion reasons to burn down that plant. Yet the prosecution points the
finger at my client, arguing that by some transitive property, it would ve benefitted Taylor to solve Dr.
Nash s problem. They point to prior crimes my client was arrested for when he was 16 and even 12
years old. They want you to convict my client simply because of his past. They want you to ignore Dr.
Nash s motive because they don t have one that makes sense for Taylor Edsel. Second, it was Dr. Nash
s plan. The prosecution s own expert told you how the fire was set: the safeties on the ... Show more

Nash s patsy. Nash knew that my client used a navy zippo lighter to start his previous fires. You heard
that lighter went missing inside of Dr. Nash s plant just three days before the fire and then turned up at
the scene. What s also curious is the text message that Dr. Nash screenshotted. On the day of the fire,
my client texted Nash, saying he was going to the company. Just one minute after the text was sent,
Dr. Nash screenshotted it. What other reason would Nash have to screenshot this message, other than
to turn it over to the police to place my client at the fire? When the police finally got around to
speaking to Nash, he said he was watching fireworks that night. That s an alibi that can t be
corroborated because Agent Duesenberg never investigated

Contact Dermatitis Case Study
Response # 2
Hello Mie Fowler,
I enjoyed reading your great post about case study # 1. I do agree with you that contact dermatitis
seems to be the probable diagnosis for this patient. According to Usatine and Riojas (2010); Mowad,
Anderson, Scheinman, Pootongkam, Nedorost, and Brod (2016), contact dermatitis is a widespread
inflammatory skin syndrome branded by pruritic and erythematous skin grazes that happen following
a contact with a foreign substance.
There are two types of contact dermatitis namely allergic and irritant, the irritant contact dermatitis is
triggered by the non immune modulated irritant substance of the skin that spearheads skin vicissitudes
while allergic contact dermatitis is a deferral hypersensitivity upshot with a foreign matter comes into
skin interaction whereby the skin vicissitudes triggers with subject matter reexposure (Usatine Riojas,

Justice In Oresteia
In all areas where humans might concern themselves with examining the facts , views and
perspectives are guaranteed to change. Not only do the perspectives of different thinkers change with
time, the manners in which these thinkers think change as well. When Aeschylus wrote The Oresteia,
he had in mind his perspective on the story as it was written. The physiological struggles that the
characters go through are all influenced by his take on the world and of human beings themselves.
Over time, however, new methods of approaching ideas are developed. In the years after Aeschylus
there were many other philosophers who developed their own interpretations of the world and sought
to contest the older, original ideas. Socrates was one of those ... Show more content on

Some of his largest contemplative work was the assessment of ones virtues. He believed that by
default people act based on the knowledge that they have. In following knowledge, emotions will
surface and inevitably line up with the beliefs that the person has. Thus this leads to the question of
free will. Are we truly having our genuinely own feelings? Or were we predestined to act this way and
thus feel? Socrates argues that we are not predestined, that we can have self control over our emotions
and passions and thus lead us to have self control over our actions. With this in mind Socrates also
talks about having this self control, in that attaining it is based on one s knowledge/wisdom of the
source of conflict, and assessing correctly what action should be taken. In accordance with self control
Socrates is forming an argument for free will. This idea that humans are completely free to do
whatever they desire (as long as it s possible) and completely determine their own destiny is an idea
that may have seemed unacceptable to Aeschylus. Socrates might have stated that though Orestes
asked for the gods help in the matter, he was in the end, deciding for himself to kill his mother. From
Socrates s argument Orestes would only be fooling himself by letting his emotions conquer his own
knowledge and wisdom, allowing him to justify his acts through conforming to the gods.

John Basilon Leadership Essay
For our legacy leader paper I have been assigned to select a leader who has had a positive impact on
my growth as a leader and a Military Intelligence professional; as well as discuss the legacy that I
would like to leave behind. In this paper I will discuss lessons that I have learned from the story of
John Basilone. John Basilone was a Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp who earned
the Medal of Honor during World War Two. He was a leader who left a resonating impression in the
Marine Corp and the American people during a time of great turmoil; and while not a military
intelligence soldier his story has left an impression on me as a leader in today s Army. On the 25th of
October 1942 John Basilone and his Platoon were engaged in a battle at Guadalcanal that had already
endured for two days. At midnight the Japanese began an attack in which hundreds of Japanese
infantrymen rushed the remaining American lines. Sergeant Basilone, who was an experienced
machine gunner was in charge of two heavy machine gun sections, quickly organized his formation
and began to manage the fight. There are numerous accounts of the actions he took on the battlefield
that day including running through gunfire and grenade bursts to resupply his men with ammunition
and operating the machine gun himself. Eventually during a small break in the fighting, Sergeant
Basilone managed to reorganize his machine guns and remaining men into an improved defensive
position which ultimately lead to

The Rise Of The Mid Size Farmer Essay
In an increasingly globalized world, productivity and efficiency is crucial to the survival of
agricultural businesses. Today, a smaller number of farms produce an increasingly larger amount of
produce. Since 1920, the average farm size has grown over 300 percent (Ikred). Productivity is at an
all time high, and in recent years the U.S. has had a tremendous increase in international agricultural
trade (Brown, 2011, p. 168). For consumers around the world, this means cheaper, more accessible
food, which is crucial for a rising world population with limited resources. However, the mid size
farmer is diminishing in number. We will look at what trends are causing the downfall of the mid size
farmer. What this means for rural communities, and whether or not these trends are inevitable.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, 3.2 million farmers operate the nation s 2.1
million farms. Although only 2 percent of the farms in America are operated by large corporations
(2012 Census Highlights), they produce a considerable amount of the nation s food supply. Large
scale operation enables these major corporations to cut production cost, allowing these businesses to
sell their product a lower market price. These low prices make it very difficult for smaller farm
operations to compete. Inability to compete causes many traditional farmers and farm families to look
for additional means of income, or even completely different means of employment.
Another trend driving

The University Of Alabama And University At Birmingham
Deciding on a four year university to transfer to can be a very stressful decision. Talking to recruiters
from many different schools has revealed one thing; they all believe their school is the best. Recruiters
are not going to disclose the problem areas of their programs, nor highlight areas where other schools
are stronger. Therefore, leaving students to compare and contrast, everything the schools offer, and
attempt to make an informed decision. When comparing the different electrical engineering programs,
it seemed that every school claimed to be the most innovative, and had the ability to offer the most
opportunities to their students. When looking specifically at the University of Alabama and the
University of Alabama at Birmingham it became evident that their programs were very similar. Both
schools require the same computer and engineering seminar classes and both require that their
students achieve a C or higher in their math and science courses. Where they truly stood out from one
another is in their transfer requirements, the organizations available on campus, and the cost of
attendance. As a transfer student, one of the most important aspects of choosing any college is making
sure that all of the requirements can be met. The University of Alabama requires that to transfer in, the
student must have maintained a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, which is a C average. They also require that to
be classified as a transfer student versus a freshman student,

What Role Did Locomotives Play In The Civil War
Jake Bohling
The Role of Locomotives in the Civil War
What was the role of locomotives during The United States of America s Civil War? There are many
things that locomotive did during the United States of America s civil war. First, locomotives were
used to transport people. Locomotives were also used to transport other resources, such as weapons
and food. Next, locomotives could be used very strategically, and cause confusion among enemies.
I chose the topic locomotives affects on the United States of America s Civil War because I have been
interested in the Civil War ,since visiting Kennesaw Mountain sparked my interested in the United
States of America s Civil War. Later, I asked my parents if they knew anything interesting ... Show

Locomotives could transport thousands of troops to there destination in a very quick manner.. For
example, Herman Haught rendered a strategy that was used at Gettysburg to transport the wounded.
Herman Haught s strategy was very effective in moving wounded soldiers. Two thousand to four
thousand injured troops at a time. Another, fantastic example is during the first Battle of Manassas
when the Confederates sent reinforcement troops with a locomotive causing a victory over the Union.
Another example, is the Battle of Chickamauga when President Abraham Lincoln sent twenty
thousand reinforcement troops in just eleven days from Washington, D.C. to Georgia. Locomotive
were used for transporting the wounded and reinforcements during the United States of America s
civil war, but locomotives were also extremely effective at transporting resources such as guns, horses,
food, and anything needed.
Next, Locomotives were used for transporting food, weapons, horses ,and many more things during
the United States of America s Civil War. Trains Could effectively carry large quantities of weapons at
a time. Locomotives could hold people on board to defend the large amounts of weapons, since
locomotives were so large. Trains would get their resources from a supply depot and then bring the
resources to troops located along the railroad track. Although, carrying weapons by rail is extremely
effective, it had multiple disadvantages. One disadvantage is that enemies

The Help By Kathryn Stockett
For most women, whether you re an actress or whatever you do, there is this pressure in society and
within the world to look a certain way, dress a certain way, act a certain way, say certain things, and be
this idea as opposed to being a person. Amber Tamblyn
In the novel The Help, by Kathryn Stockett, the setting (1960 s, small town mississippi) helped us to
understand Stockett s purpose of highlighting the pressure society places on women, such as job
availability for women or need to marry. We all experience pressure from society in some aspects of
our lives but the difference, for women in particular, is that women have pressure from society in
every aspect of their lives.
We are first introduced to the theme of society s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is also shown when at The Benefit. Celia is described as being dressed in a sparkling hot pink
gown that shows too much skin and exposes too much of her body, while the rest of the women are
described as wearing dresses that hide almost all areas of their bodies. Ruffles clutch at her throat,
swathes of material hide her body. Tight fitted sleeves run all the way down her arm... Long kid
leather gloves ensure they don t have more than a few inches of epidermis exposed.
This highlights how little skin women felt was acceptable showing, especially in formal situations
Stockett uses the setting of Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960 s, to highlight and bring to attention how
stuck in the past, the people of Jackson are, in terms of their views on women s beauty.
The theme of society s pressure on women is developed into society s pressure on women in terms of
their roles in society. We are first introduced to this theme through Skeeter s mother. Her mother is an
older white women who belongs to a fairly wealthy family in Jackson, Mississippi. Four years my
daughter goes off to college and what does she come home with? she asks. A diploma? A pretty piece
of paper, Mother says. I told you. I didn t meet anybody I wanted to marry. I say. This shows Skeeter s
mother s insistence that she needs to find a husband, instead of continuing her education and

The Constitutional System Within The United Kingdom
A constitutional system within a country could be classified as one of the most important structures for
democracy; it should not only illustrate the structures and power of a government, but also state the
relationship between government and individuals. Constitutionalism can be classified into two distinct
categories: a codified written Constitutions (ie: United States), and an uncodified unwritten
constitution (ie: United Kingdom). Some consider the UK constitution as a risk to the democratic
society due to its flexibility and the chance of forming dictatorship. However, others believe that an
uncodified constitution could be beneficial within a constant changing and developing society. Hence,
rules and agreements could be easily modified and become up to date under an uncodified
constitution, whereas, a codified Constitution is less flexible with complex amendment procedures and
often seen as out dated.
In general, liberty and authority are two political factors that could be in constant conflict with each
other. Although John Stuart Mill (1869) suggested in On Liberty, that the only time a state could
interfere with an individuals freedom is by preventing harm from one another, the subject of a rigid
constitution and liberal democracy is still an on going discussion.
This essay will focus on the comparison between US Constitution and UK equivalent; the advantages
and disadvantages presented within the two constitutional systems, and secondly will discuss whether

people of every income range and he responded to the situation by constructing rows of identical four
room apartments at Long Island, New York, that were offered to veteran war soldiers for only $60 a
month (Jackson. 1985; Clapson. 2003). Levittown, the mass housing facility designed and constructed
by Levitts, was vehemently criticized by architects for producing homogenous and suffocating
environment and being antithetical to lofted architectural principles (Jackson. 1985). But the critics
ignored the fact that, Levitt could not incorporate the lofty and stylist architectural designs that were
hallmark of most of Victorian style villas and bungalows and yet produce houses on mass scale, in
quick time and provide them for sale at most affordable prices. His aim was to construct the best
houses at least cost to provide most economical housing. The fact was that Levitt had successfully
fulfilled the demands and dreams of many Americans of owning their own house. To fully appreciate

Grunge Research Paper
Grunge, a genre of alternative rock that includes elements of punk rock and heavy metal, emerged in
the early 1990s, primarily in Seattle. The term grunge comes from the slang adjective grungy ,
meaning ugly, run down and dirty.
Grunge is often described as distortion filled, down tuned rock that is based off of riffs, using loud
electric guitar feedback and heavy bass lines to support the song s melodies. Instrumentation usually
consisted of an electric guitar, bass guitar, drum kit and a vocalist.
Electric guitars were the dominant instrument in the grunge style, with heavy distortion and fuzz
pedals creating growling, overdriven guitar sounds. Wah wah pedals were also sometimes used to
change the tone colour of guitars. Amps were usually only used to increase the dynamics, and all of
the sound manipulation was done through overdrive and fuzz pedals. Another method used to
manipulate the guitar sound in grunge music is using guitar feedback effects. This ... Show more

convey power and vulnerability, Nirvana s Kurt Cobain, known for his slurred articulation and harsh
timbre and Pearl Jam s Eddie Vedder, who displayed a depth of expression through his powerful

Grunge lyrics are commonly dark and angst filled, surrounding themes such as depression, social
ostracisation, lack of interest, political concerns and the desire for freedom. The lyrics often
questioned society, contained explicit drug references and demonstrated concern for social issues,
particularly those that affected the world s youth. The authenticity of the lyrics and passion behind

about how immigration is becoming a security problem. The information in this book about how
immigration is a security issue is helpful for fighting my side of the argument. It would be very

General Theory Of Crime And Delinquency
General Theory of Crime and Delinquency Many theories exist including biological, psychological,
and sociological theories that have been proposed by many criminologists in the criminal justice field
and have been closely studied by people (Agnew, Cullen, Wilcox, 2004). Most theories are proposed
at the micro level meaning it tries to explain the criminal behavior of individuals and some are
proposed at the macro level which tries to explain the crime rates in social groups, meaning micro
focuses on individuals and macro focuses on groups (Agnew et al., 2004). When something gets
integrated it means something is being mixed together and may form one idea when those items get
put together. Messner heavily discusses integrated theories which he describes as being theories that
are integrated or mixed to formulate relationships that list different variables from different theories
(Krohn, Liska, Messner, 1989). The integrated theory seeks to describe the relationships between
different theories and integrating them into one by gathering all the facts and information from several
theories with different strategies being used to integrate theories. (Krohn et al., 1989).
General theory of crime and delinquency focuses on how certain risk factors have an effect on crime,
answers why criminals offend, describes how crime occurs when constraints are low and when
motivation from crime is high and how certain life domains have reciprocal effects. One of the most

Cooking Is The Art And Science Of Cooking
Introduction:
Cooking is the art and science of preparing food for eating by the application of heat . It includes full
range of culinary techniques: preparing raw, cooked foods for the table; final dressing of meats, fish,
and fowl; cleaning, cutting fruits, vegetables; preparing salads; garnishing dishes, planning meals.
Origins of cooking are obscure. Primitive humans have savored roast meat, flesh of beast killed in
forest fire was found to be more palatable and easier to chew and digest than the customary raw meat.
However roasting spitted meats over fires remained virtually the sole culinary technique until the
Paleolithic Period, when the Aurignacian people of southern France began to steam their food over hot
embers by wrapping it in wet leaves. Aside from such hard procedures as toasting wild grains on flat
rocks and using shells, skulls, or hollowed stones to heat liquids, no further culinary advances were
made. So advancement in cooking techniques made culinary methods improved with the introduction
of earthenware and introduction of pottery during Neolithic Period . The cooking techniques of
boiling, stewing, braising, and perhaps even incipient forms of pickling, frying, and oven baking were
added. Early cooks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cost And Purpose Of Sales Promotion
1: INTRODUCTION
1.1. Introduction to sales promotion
Meaning and Purpose of Sales Promotion:
Sales promotion consists of all promotional activities other than advertising, personal selling and
publicity that help to increase sales through non repetitive and one time communication. In other
words, it includes marketing activities other than personal selling, advertising, and publicity, that
stimulate consumer purchasing and dealer effectiveness, such as point of purchase displays, shows and
exhibitions, demonstrations and various non recurring selling efforts not in the ordinary routine.
Purpose: The ultimate aim or purpose of sales promotion is that of increasing the volume of sales and
profits but it differs from advertising and personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the greater the geographical dispersion of a target market, the greater the communication
expenditure required. Similarly, if an offering is in its early life cycle, there is a greater need of
expenditure. But promotion budget should always justify the tasks to be undertaken. A basic principle
would be the cost and returns of sales promotion tools to be adopted. Hindustan Lever has its well
drawn up sales promotion budget. If any business house does not have its promotion budget fixed,
then promotion programmes will have to be designed to support the marketing plan.
(vi) Government regulations:
Government has passed various laws and made rules to protect the consumer interest, such as the
prevention of Food Adulteration Act, the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements)
Act, and Drugs and Cosmetics Act etc. Sales promotion policy must take into consideration the
government regulations relating to the particular product, e.g. the commodity rates must be specified

noteworthy to mention that naïve mice treated with Ara LAM when infected after 14 or 18 weeks,
could not rescue from disease progression. Contrary to that, the results described in this study
indicated, successful induction of a host protective effector response is possible by adoptive transfer of
Ara LAM treated immune CD4 or total T cells (but not CD8 T cells). It is obvious that in uninfected
mice, Ara LAM does not stay for such a long time in the body as opposed to what happens in the case
of infected mice. Though, SLA immunized mice can show a mixed Th1/Th2 immune responses, but it
is insufficient to control L. donovani infection. Altogether, it is obvious that Ara LAM can generate a
pool of immune CD4 T cells in infected mice and that is

In Her Shoes Analysis
In the Activity, In Her Shoes, I decided to see the experiences of domestic violence in the shoes of
three victims/survivors of domestic violence. The three victims/survivors I chose to view their
experiences in their shoes are: Natasha Washington, Derek Johnson, and Danielle Lutton.
Natasha Washington
Natasha Washington is a hard working, 40 year old Attorney who is a victim/survivor of domestic
violence. In her story, her partner, Cutis, physically and emotionally abused her. A man who she
thought had eyes only for her, but was seeing other women, and abused Natasha when not given his
way. She took matters into her own hands to see help at a domestic violence agency, and counseling
services. That helping her to make moves to get away from her abusive relationship with Curtis.
Derek Johnson
Derek Johnson is a 16 year old high school student who enjoys swimming, and in a relationship with
his girlfriend, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She met her husband, John at choir practice, because of his singing voice. At that time, that was when
she fell for him, and they married each other. In the shoes of Danielle, she is a victim/survivor of
domestic violence caused by John abusing her physically and emotionally. Danielle is not the only
victim in her perspective, it is believed that Christina have been sexually abused by her father, John.
However, there were evidence shown of such abuse done to his child. Danielle does everything she
can to keep her child, and get both her and her child away from John. There was lack of support given
to Danielle by the courts, Child Protection Services, and law officials. However, she did receive the
help she needed from her mother, other victims/survivors of domestic violence, and other outcomes
that helped her in the long run. This helped her to stay with and keep her child safe, and John s lack of
commitment to keep up with his visitations to see

Don John Villain Essay
At first glance the character Don John resembles a traditional villain. Miriam Webster defines a villain
as, a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime , but does this
truly define the psyche of Don John? As a bastard, or an illegitimate son, Don John has always been
out of the spotlight, portrayed as an idea of someone who doesn t belong in a natural heir decent. In
reality though, Don John is one of the only people in the play that shows a vulnerable, honest
reflection of himself. In a scene he confesses to Conrad that, [he] cannot hide what [he is]. [he] must
be sad / when [he has] cause, and smile at no man s jests; eat when [he has] / stomach, and wait for no
man s leisure; sleep when [he is] / drowsy, and tend on no man s business (I.3.10 13). Because for ...

Other characters, like the Prince, have a place in the society of Messina. Despite being the only
character without this social status, Don John is one of the only characters who stays true to who he
thinks he is. Thought the play several of the other charters call into question who they are, who they
support, and what role they play, but Don John stands apart. IN act one this becomes more evident as
he declares himself a plain dealing villain (I.3.25), and that others should seek not to alter [him]
(I.3.29), meaning that altho is position as a outsider was not chosen, he knows his place and his
identity. This rhetoric that Don John states draws a stark comparison and revels the reality that all the
confusion that is caused is because the other charters are not capable of honest reflections of
themselves. If Claudio was able to do an honest reflection about himself, perhaps he would have
realized that his quickly changed mind about affections for Hero means that he is not in love at all. IN
addition perhaps is Hero was able to this same sort of reflection, he would have realized that in her
marriage she sought only to please others, and her happiness lie

The Aircraft Manufacturing Industry During World War II
During World War II, the aircraft manufacturing industry took off. According to Dr. Bright (1978), by
the year 1944 it was the largest industry in America (p. 1). It soon declined in the years following due
to material flaws, lack in engine performance, and production manufacturing methods. One
contributing factor was metal fatigue, this occurs when metal parts that undergo many repeated strains
eventually fail at a loading far below their original ultimate strength , Garrison (2005) (p. 1).
Manufacturers at the time primarily used aluminum and steel, because of their overall strength and
how readily they were available. What engineers did not consider was the abuse the airframes would
take over time. This factor went overlooked, resulting in numerous crashes with fatalities. Although
cheaper to manufacture, piston type airplane engines require more maintenance than that of their jet
engine counterparts. In fact, a jet engine can go for 3,000 hours while an overhaul for a piston aircraft
is generally 2,000 hours , Piston Engine (2011). This source goes on to compare the average top speed
of a piston engine driven aircraft which is usually around 200 KIAS. This is relatively slow when
compared to the average jet engine that can reach 300 KIAS.
The manufacturing industry took a big hit after the war, Bugos (2001) found that total sales by
American aircraft firms were $16 billion in 1944; by 1947 they were only $1.2 billion, . However,
finances weren t the only

North America And South America
Both North and South Americas span across many latitudes. This means that they experience many
different climates. North America is very wide and experiences continentality. South America is more
narrow and does not experience the same level of continentality. Both Americas have rain shadow
effect in their south west. They have desert areas created by this rain shadow. South America has a
huge tropical area that North America does not experience, but South America does not have an arctic
area like North America.
The physical geography of the Americas has lots to do with where the population densities are located.
These locations are also heavily rooted in colonialism. When the first settlers arrived in the Americas
the set up trading posts and small communities along the coasts. In areas that were good for growing
crops, the would bring slaves from africa to work the farms growing these resources for the European
states. (Demos, 2013) The population distribution has as much to do with colonialism as the Physical
geography. Whether they were called Native Americans, First Nations or Amerindian the people who
inhabited these lands in the pre Christopher Columbus times were often forced off their lands and onto
land deemed undesirable to the European colonist. The Europeans also brought many people of
African descent to the Americas as slave labor. While times have changed and both descendants of
blacks and natives are free and able to move around at their will, their

Analysis Of The Public Enemy And Scarface
Films have been around for a very long time starting from the silent era leading to the classical phase
up until today, and with time comes change and adapt to what s current and popular. However, one
thing that has stayed constant are the upcoming of film genre. One of the primary ways to identify and
differentiate films are by their genres and styles. This lays out the foundation of the film using many
factors like iconography, language, conflicts, lighting and story plot. One of the most iconic styles in
the cinematic world would have to be the typical gangster films. Two of the most recognizable
gangster films of their time were the Public Enemy (1931), along with the film Scarface (1983).
Although these two films were shot in completely different eras of the U.S. we see both encounter the
same stages in life despite the time change. This goes to show that these two films strongly
symbolizes and demonstrates just what the gangster genre is all about in terms of social context,
themes, conflict and iconography. This classical landmark film, The Public enemy, introduces the
social context of gangster films around the same time Prohibition and the Great Depression really
started to take a toll on lives. While the later well known film, Scarface, was placed in the era of mass
immigration from Cuba to Florida, with the growth in popularity of the drug cocaine . Due to these
two films, people become fascinated with the idea of wealth and power both found in the typical

Is Lying Ever Justified Essay
Is Lying justified or never justified? Lying is an everyday social factor and a moral duty when the time
comes. Lying is sometimes justified when it is used to protect someone from harm or to protect
someone s feelings; but on the other hand, others think lying is always justified. Most think lying is
sometimes ok to protect someone from harm. In It s the Truth:Americans Conflicted About Lying, the
article states, Not only is lying justified it s sometimes a moral duty, (NBC News). This shows that
lying is a part of every day life. In addition, it states that it is a duty. This shows that it is a duty to
protect someone from harm. Also, the article states, For Harold smith, it was worth the risk when he
lied to his daughter about his health when undergoing treatment for a kidney treatment. Why get her

In the article, Rejecting All Lies: Immanuel Kant, by Sissela Bok, Bok reports, Truthfulness in
statements which cannot be avoided is the formal duty if an individual to everyone, (Bok). This
statement is disagreeing with NBC News statement when stating that lying is a moral duty. It also
states that the truth will always come first which could be argued with. Kant also states This is an
absolutist position, prohibiting all lies, even those told for the best of purposes or to avoid the most
horrible of fate, (Kant). Kant states that even if lying to protect someone is needed, to not try and lie to
protect someone. This also shows that Kant disagrees with all lies even if it protects someone or
something from harm. Therefore, some think lying is never justified. Lying is sometimes justified
when it is used to protect someone from harm or to protect someone s feelings; but on the other hand
others think lying is always justified. Lying is apart of everyday life. It s better to protect someone
with a lie then letting them get hurt in the long

Attachment, Antisocial, And Antisocial Behavior
Attachment and Antisocial Behavior in Adolescents Secure early infant attachments are imperative to
a person s life because it assists in the development of empathy and emotional self regulation. A
healthy development of empathy and emotional self regulation promotes prosocial behavior. Prosocial
behavior is the deliberate action of helping and/or benefiting another person, group, or society in
general without any thought of being rewarded. Securing an early infant attachment can develop an
automatic response of prosocial behavior which can be applied throughout an individual s life as he or
she responds to immediate situations that may occur throughout a lifetime. Anti social behavior is
developed when a person lacks the ability to help someone because he or she fails to identify with the
feelings or difficulties of someone else (Steele, Bate, Nikitiades, Buhl Nielsen, 2015). Adolescents
that display anti social behavior are more likely to develop poor peer competence, have lower
academic performance, become involved in adulthood criminality and are at a higher risk of
developing adult mental health problems. Anti social behavior in adolescents is expressed by the
inability to respect the rights of others which leads to the violation of societal social norms. Some
behavior, such as being disobedience or defiant, can be considered as normal behavior in adolescents,
however it can also be a strong predictor of adjustment difficulties adolescents may face in their

The Link Between Social Interactions Among Peers And...
Introduction
Problem Formulation
Researchers have been discussing the link between social interactions among peers in school and
academic outcomes for over 40 years (Coleman, 1961). Children are categorized by the people they
associate with. Understanding the way social interactions affect academic achievement is important.
Major issue in the literature on peer pressure quality special mention are: cultural patterns penalizing
academic achievement and changes in the effect of peers over time.
Academics argue that peer pressure effects become important during adolescence (Steinberg, 1996).
Some literature says that is a cultural pattern within the African American and Latino population
where students discourage academic achievement (Ogbu, 1986). The purpose of this study is to
explain academic achievement by analyzing four factors: the peer pressure effect on students, gender,
and student s particular interest for education compared to their peers, and race and ethnicity.
This research relates to social work in many ways. Social workers find this research important because
during the adolescent stage, students are finding their own personal identity and their identity among
their peers. Students are also learning how to socialize. They socialize with peers who may share the
same goals as one another. Students may also socialize with those peers that have the same intellectual
vocabulary as one another.

Terror Dominates Our Perceptions Of The French Revolution
Terror dominates our perceptions of the french Revolution. Terror was a brief but deadly period where
Robespierre, the Committee of Public Safety and the Revolutionary Tribunals, condemned thousands
of people to die on the guillotine. The Reign of Terror was not driven by one man, one body,or one
policy; It was shape by different forces and factors. The Reign of Terror was certainly the most violent
period of the French Revolution. Between the years of 1793 and 1794 more than 50,000 people were
killed for suspected counter revolutionary activity or so called crimes against liberty One third of this
number died under the falling blade of the guillotine.
At the end of the 18 century the glorious kingdom of Europe would face the mighty foe.The power of
its own people. One man would rise to inspire the nation to cause the descend of a reluctant King and,

of the war the king was fighting, the government were bankrupt. With food prices on the raise and the

  • 2. Dr. Nash Case Study During the course of this trial, you saw how one man solved his 20 billion dollar problem. It was the prosecution s burden to prove my client guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. As the defense, we carried no burden in today s trial. However, you still saw that this was Dr. Nash s problem, Dr. Nash s plan, and Dr. Nash s patsy. First, it was Dr. Nash s problem. You heard how a computer glitch was causing Dr. Nash to mentally deteriorate at work. This glitch was causing a net loss on every car Dr. Nash produced. But if something were to happen to the plant, Nash wouldn t be responsible for returning that preorder money. He had 20 billion reasons to burn down that plant. Yet the prosecution points the finger at my client, arguing that by some transitive property, it would ve benefitted Taylor to solve Dr. Nash s problem. They point to prior crimes my client was arrested for when he was 16 and even 12 years old. They want you to convict my client simply because of his past. They want you to ignore Dr. Nash s motive because they don t have one that makes sense for Taylor Edsel. Second, it was Dr. Nash s plan. The prosecution s own expert told you how the fire was set: the safeties on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nash s patsy. Nash knew that my client used a navy zippo lighter to start his previous fires. You heard that lighter went missing inside of Dr. Nash s plant just three days before the fire and then turned up at the scene. What s also curious is the text message that Dr. Nash screenshotted. On the day of the fire, my client texted Nash, saying he was going to the company. Just one minute after the text was sent, Dr. Nash screenshotted it. What other reason would Nash have to screenshot this message, other than to turn it over to the police to place my client at the fire? When the police finally got around to speaking to Nash, he said he was watching fireworks that night. That s an alibi that can t be corroborated because Agent Duesenberg never investigated ... • 3. Contact Dermatitis Case Study Response # 2 Hello Mie Fowler, I enjoyed reading your great post about case study # 1. I do agree with you that contact dermatitis seems to be the probable diagnosis for this patient. According to Usatine and Riojas (2010); Mowad, Anderson, Scheinman, Pootongkam, Nedorost, and Brod (2016), contact dermatitis is a widespread inflammatory skin syndrome branded by pruritic and erythematous skin grazes that happen following a contact with a foreign substance. There are two types of contact dermatitis namely allergic and irritant, the irritant contact dermatitis is triggered by the non immune modulated irritant substance of the skin that spearheads skin vicissitudes while allergic contact dermatitis is a deferral hypersensitivity upshot with a foreign matter comes into skin interaction whereby the skin vicissitudes triggers with subject matter reexposure (Usatine Riojas, 2010). ... • 4. Justice In Oresteia In all areas where humans might concern themselves with examining the facts , views and perspectives are guaranteed to change. Not only do the perspectives of different thinkers change with time, the manners in which these thinkers think change as well. When Aeschylus wrote The Oresteia, he had in mind his perspective on the story as it was written. The physiological struggles that the characters go through are all influenced by his take on the world and of human beings themselves. Over time, however, new methods of approaching ideas are developed. In the years after Aeschylus there were many other philosophers who developed their own interpretations of the world and sought to contest the older, original ideas. Socrates was one of those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of his largest contemplative work was the assessment of ones virtues. He believed that by default people act based on the knowledge that they have. In following knowledge, emotions will surface and inevitably line up with the beliefs that the person has. Thus this leads to the question of free will. Are we truly having our genuinely own feelings? Or were we predestined to act this way and thus feel? Socrates argues that we are not predestined, that we can have self control over our emotions and passions and thus lead us to have self control over our actions. With this in mind Socrates also talks about having this self control, in that attaining it is based on one s knowledge/wisdom of the source of conflict, and assessing correctly what action should be taken. In accordance with self control Socrates is forming an argument for free will. This idea that humans are completely free to do whatever they desire (as long as it s possible) and completely determine their own destiny is an idea that may have seemed unacceptable to Aeschylus. Socrates might have stated that though Orestes asked for the gods help in the matter, he was in the end, deciding for himself to kill his mother. From Socrates s argument Orestes would only be fooling himself by letting his emotions conquer his own knowledge and wisdom, allowing him to justify his acts through conforming to the gods. ... • 5. John Basilon Leadership Essay For our legacy leader paper I have been assigned to select a leader who has had a positive impact on my growth as a leader and a Military Intelligence professional; as well as discuss the legacy that I would like to leave behind. In this paper I will discuss lessons that I have learned from the story of John Basilone. John Basilone was a Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp who earned the Medal of Honor during World War Two. He was a leader who left a resonating impression in the Marine Corp and the American people during a time of great turmoil; and while not a military intelligence soldier his story has left an impression on me as a leader in today s Army. On the 25th of October 1942 John Basilone and his Platoon were engaged in a battle at Guadalcanal that had already endured for two days. At midnight the Japanese began an attack in which hundreds of Japanese infantrymen rushed the remaining American lines. Sergeant Basilone, who was an experienced machine gunner was in charge of two heavy machine gun sections, quickly organized his formation and began to manage the fight. There are numerous accounts of the actions he took on the battlefield that day including running through gunfire and grenade bursts to resupply his men with ammunition and operating the machine gun himself. Eventually during a small break in the fighting, Sergeant Basilone managed to reorganize his machine guns and remaining men into an improved defensive position which ultimately lead to ... • 6. The Rise Of The Mid Size Farmer Essay In an increasingly globalized world, productivity and efficiency is crucial to the survival of agricultural businesses. Today, a smaller number of farms produce an increasingly larger amount of produce. Since 1920, the average farm size has grown over 300 percent (Ikred). Productivity is at an all time high, and in recent years the U.S. has had a tremendous increase in international agricultural trade (Brown, 2011, p. 168). For consumers around the world, this means cheaper, more accessible food, which is crucial for a rising world population with limited resources. However, the mid size farmer is diminishing in number. We will look at what trends are causing the downfall of the mid size farmer. What this means for rural communities, and whether or not these trends are inevitable. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, 3.2 million farmers operate the nation s 2.1 million farms. Although only 2 percent of the farms in America are operated by large corporations (2012 Census Highlights), they produce a considerable amount of the nation s food supply. Large scale operation enables these major corporations to cut production cost, allowing these businesses to sell their product a lower market price. These low prices make it very difficult for smaller farm operations to compete. Inability to compete causes many traditional farmers and farm families to look for additional means of income, or even completely different means of employment. Another trend driving ... • 7. The University Of Alabama And University At Birmingham Deciding on a four year university to transfer to can be a very stressful decision. Talking to recruiters from many different schools has revealed one thing; they all believe their school is the best. Recruiters are not going to disclose the problem areas of their programs, nor highlight areas where other schools are stronger. Therefore, leaving students to compare and contrast, everything the schools offer, and attempt to make an informed decision. When comparing the different electrical engineering programs, it seemed that every school claimed to be the most innovative, and had the ability to offer the most opportunities to their students. When looking specifically at the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama at Birmingham it became evident that their programs were very similar. Both schools require the same computer and engineering seminar classes and both require that their students achieve a C or higher in their math and science courses. Where they truly stood out from one another is in their transfer requirements, the organizations available on campus, and the cost of attendance. As a transfer student, one of the most important aspects of choosing any college is making sure that all of the requirements can be met. The University of Alabama requires that to transfer in, the student must have maintained a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, which is a C average. They also require that to be classified as a transfer student versus a freshman student, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Help By Kathryn Stockett For most women, whether you re an actress or whatever you do, there is this pressure in society and within the world to look a certain way, dress a certain way, act a certain way, say certain things, and be this idea as opposed to being a person. • 12. The Constitutional System Within The United Kingdom A constitutional system within a country could be classified as one of the most important structures for democracy; it should not only illustrate the structures and power of a government, but also state the relationship between government and individuals. Constitutionalism can be classified into two distinct categories: a codified written Constitutions (ie: United States), and an uncodified unwritten constitution (ie: United Kingdom). Some consider the UK constitution as a risk to the democratic society due to its flexibility and the chance of forming dictatorship. However, others believe that an uncodified constitution could be beneficial within a constant changing and developing society. Hence, rules and agreements could be easily modified and become up to date under an uncodified constitution, whereas, a codified Constitution is less flexible with complex amendment procedures and often seen as out dated. In general, liberty and authority are two political factors that could be in constant conflict with each other. Although John Stuart Mill (1869) suggested in On Liberty, that the only time a state could interfere with an individuals freedom is by preventing harm from one another, the subject of a rigid constitution and liberal democracy is still an on going discussion. Levittown, the mass housing facility designed and constructed by Levitts, was vehemently criticized by architects for producing homogenous and suffocating environment and being antithetical to lofted architectural principles (Jackson. 1985). But the critics ignored the fact that, Levitt could not incorporate the lofty and stylist architectural designs that were hallmark of most of Victorian style villas and bungalows and yet produce houses on mass scale, in quick time and provide them for sale at most affordable prices. The term grunge comes from the slang adjective grungy , meaning ugly, run down and dirty. Instrumentation usually consisted of an electric guitar, bass guitar, drum kit and a vocalist. Electric guitars were the dominant instrument in the grunge style, with heavy distortion and fuzz pedals creating growling, overdriven guitar sounds. • 17. General Theory Of Crime And Delinquency General Theory of Crime and Delinquency Many theories exist including biological, psychological, and sociological theories that have been proposed by many criminologists in the criminal justice field and have been closely studied by people (Agnew, Cullen, Wilcox, 2004). Most theories are proposed at the micro level meaning it tries to explain the criminal behavior of individuals and some are proposed at the macro level which tries to explain the crime rates in social groups, meaning micro focuses on individuals and macro focuses on groups (Agnew et al., 2004). When something gets integrated it means something is being mixed together and may form one idea when those items get put together. Messner heavily discusses integrated theories which he describes as being theories that are integrated or mixed to formulate relationships that list different variables from different theories (Krohn, Liska, Messner, 1989). The integrated theory seeks to describe the relationships between different theories and integrating them into one by gathering all the facts and information from several theories with different strategies being used to integrate theories. (Krohn et al., 1989). • 20. Cooking Is The Art And Science Of Cooking Introduction: Cooking is the art and science of preparing food for eating by the application of heat . It includes full range of culinary techniques: preparing raw, cooked foods for the table; final dressing of meats, fish, and fowl; cleaning, cutting fruits, vegetables; preparing salads; garnishing dishes, planning meals. Origins of cooking are obscure. Primitive humans have savored roast meat, flesh of beast killed in forest fire was found to be more palatable and easier to chew and digest than the customary raw meat. However roasting spitted meats over fires remained virtually the sole culinary technique until the Paleolithic Period, when the Aurignacian people of southern France began to steam their food over hot embers by wrapping it in wet leaves. Aside from such hard procedures as toasting wild grains on flat rocks and using shells, skulls, or hollowed stones to heat liquids, no further culinary advances were made. So advancement in cooking techniques made culinary methods improved with the introduction of earthenware and introduction of pottery during Neolithic Period . The cooking techniques of boiling, stewing, braising, and perhaps even incipient forms of pickling, frying, and oven baking were added. Early cooks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is also interesting to observe a higher production of IL 10 and TGF b in the group that received Ara LAM and re challenge with L. donovani compared to other groups, suggesting that the parasite in the first encounter modulate the cytokine production even in the presence of Ara LAM. Consistent with the previous reports that IFN γ is required to induce class switching of IgG2a (29 30), Ara LAM was successfully able to induce IgG2a antibody in infected re challenged mice. It is noteworthy to mention that naïve mice treated with Ara LAM when infected after 14 or 18 weeks, could not rescue from disease progression. Contrary to that, the results described in this study indicated, successful induction of a host protective effector response is possible by adoptive transfer of Ara LAM treated immune CD4 or total T cells (but not CD8 T cells). It is obvious that in uninfected mice, Ara LAM does not stay for such a long time in the body as opposed to what happens in the case of infected mice. Though, SLA immunized mice can show a mixed Th1/Th2 immune responses, but it is insufficient to control L. donovani infection. Miriam Webster defines a villain as, a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime , but does this truly define the psyche of Don John? As a bastard, or an illegitimate son, Don John has always been out of the spotlight, portrayed as an idea of someone who doesn t belong in a natural heir decent. In reality though, Don John is one of the only people in the play that shows a vulnerable, honest reflection of himself. In a scene he confesses to Conrad that, [he] cannot hide what [he is]. • 25. The Aircraft Manufacturing Industry During World War II During World War II, the aircraft manufacturing industry took off. According to Dr. Bright (1978), by the year 1944 it was the largest industry in America (p. 1). It soon declined in the years following due to material flaws, lack in engine performance, and production manufacturing methods. One contributing factor was metal fatigue, this occurs when metal parts that undergo many repeated strains eventually fail at a loading far below their original ultimate strength , Garrison (2005) (p. 1). Manufacturers at the time primarily used aluminum and steel, because of their overall strength and how readily they were available. What engineers did not consider was the abuse the airframes would take over time. This factor went overlooked, resulting in numerous crashes with fatalities. Although cheaper to manufacture, piston type airplane engines require more maintenance than that of their jet engine counterparts. In fact, a jet engine can go for 3,000 hours while an overhaul for a piston aircraft is generally 2,000 hours , Piston Engine (2011). This source goes on to compare the average top speed of a piston engine driven aircraft which is usually around 200 KIAS. This is relatively slow when compared to the average jet engine that can reach 300 KIAS. The manufacturing industry took a big hit after the war, Bugos (2001) found that total sales by American aircraft firms were $16 billion in 1944; by 1947 they were only $1.2 billion, . Attachment, Antisocial, And Antisocial Behavior Attachment and Antisocial Behavior in Adolescents Secure early infant attachments are imperative to a person s life because it assists in the development of empathy and emotional self regulation. A healthy development of empathy and emotional self regulation promotes prosocial behavior. Prosocial behavior is the deliberate action of helping and/or benefiting another person, group, or society in general without any thought of being rewarded. Securing an early infant attachment can develop an automatic response of prosocial behavior which can be applied throughout an individual s life as he or she responds to immediate situations that may occur throughout a lifetime. Anti social behavior is developed when a person lacks the ability to help someone because he or she fails to identify with the feelings or difficulties of someone else (Steele, Bate, Nikitiades, Buhl Nielsen, 2015). Adolescents that display anti social behavior are more likely to develop poor peer competence, have lower academic performance, become involved in adulthood criminality and are at a higher risk of developing adult mental health problems. Anti social behavior in adolescents is expressed by the inability to respect the rights of others which leads to the violation of societal social norms. • 31. The Link Between Social Interactions Among Peers And... Introduction Problem Formulation Researchers have been discussing the link between social interactions among peers in school and academic outcomes for over 40 years (Coleman, 1961). Children are categorized by the people they associate with. Understanding the way social interactions affect academic achievement is important. Major issue in the literature on peer pressure quality special mention are: cultural patterns penalizing academic achievement and changes in the effect of peers over time. Academics argue that peer pressure effects become important during adolescence (Steinberg, 1996). Some literature says that is a cultural pattern within the African American and Latino population where students discourage academic achievement (Ogbu, 1986). The purpose of this study is to explain academic achievement by analyzing four factors: the peer pressure effect on students, gender, and student s particular interest for education compared to their peers, and race and ethnicity. This research relates to social work in many ways. Social workers find this research important because during the adolescent stage, students are finding their own personal identity and their identity among their peers. Students are also learning how to socialize. They socialize with peers who may share the same goals as one another. Students may also socialize with those peers that have the same intellectual vocabulary as one another. Literature Review Introduction The purpose of this study is to ...
