English teachers don t need to be told the enormous value and pleasure of reading whole texts as class
readers. Little compares with that feeling when a class are truly engaged in the reading of a really
good book. Those moments stay with you forever indeed, they fuel the desire to find another such
book to repeat the experience, again and again. Fortunately, contemporary writers of fiction for young
adults continue to offer us fresh opportunities to enjoy literature with our students.

The Animal Of Animal Welfare Act
Animal Welfare Act
Casandra Sasaki
Eagle High School
Abstract
The Animal Welfare Act, passed in 1966, establishes guidelines for the protection of animals used for
research and other purposes, defines the requirements for facilities housing those animals, and outlines
the procedures for inspection and maintenance of those facilities by government entities. This paper
explores the pros and cons of the act as well as the effectiveness of the guidelines and their
enforcement. Finally, it makes several recommendations based on the evidence presented.
Policy Identification and Explanation
The policy that I am researching is: United States Code: CHAPTER 54 TRANSPORTATION, SALE,
AND HANDLING OF CERTAIN ANIMALS. (Animal Welfare Act, 2015). This is the Animal
Welfare Act. Because the Animal Welfare act has so many parts to it, the section I am focusing on is:
§2143: Standards and certification process for humane handling, care, treatment, and transportation of
animals (Animal Welfare Act, 2015).
This specific section is focusing on animal testing in research facilities across the United States. It tells
the minimum requirements for animals housing, treatment, care, sanitation, etc. This section also
states the requirements for procedures done on animals. Section three, part B states: the principal
investigator considers alternatives to any procedure likely to produce pain or distress (Animal Welfare
Act, 2015). The Animal Welfare Act is a federal law,

Foodborne Illness Is A Big Problem
Have you ever wondered how big of a problem foodborne illness is on the federal level in the United
States? Foodborne illness is a big problem on the public health. Foodborne illnesses are infections
caused by beverages or foods that contain harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites and/or chemicals. Foods
can also be contaminated with bacteria during the food preparation you do at home or the preparation
done at a restaurant. If the food cooks or food preparers do not carefully wash their hands, kitchen
tools, cutting boards, and other kitchen surfaces that come into contact with raw foods, cross
contamination can occur which is the spread of bacteria from contaminated foods to uncontaminated
foods. If hot food is not kept hot enough or cold food is not kept cold enough, bacteria can multiply.
Bacteria multiplies very quickly when the temperature of food is between 40 and 140 degrees. Cold
food should be kept below 40 degrees and hot food should be kept above 140 degrees. Bacteria
multiplies slower when food is refrigerated. Freezing food can also slow or even stop the spread of
bacteria. But once food is brought to room temperature once again the bacteria that is refrigerated or
frozen becomes active once again. Thoroughly cooking foods can also kill bacterias that cause
foodborne illnesses. The common symptoms of foodborne illnesses are vomiting, diarrhea, fever,
abdominal pain, and/or the chills. The Federal government has estimated that there is about 48 million
cases of

Paper On Charles Eames
One does not think the name Charles Eames without considering his other half Ray Eames. Ranked
among the elite of American designers, they were one of the largest contributors to what we know as
modernism today. their pronouncements on design emphasized the centrality of function in the use of
the technologies of mass production to make quality goods cheaper and more affordable. Charles was
not successful just an architect, also in furniture design, film and exhibition design all of which
brought him international acclaim. They found their most success in furniture design. Regrdless of
their success Charles preferred the word architect to designer, he believed it implied a kind of
structure, analysis, as well as a tradition behind it. Along ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He preferred the distinction because of what it implies. It implies a structure, a kind of analysis, as
well as a kind of tradition behind it. In 1945 John Entenza, using his magazine Art Architecture,
started the Case Study Houses Program as part of his attempts to further modernism. The Case Study
Houses aimed to produce contemporary solutions to house design and to offer prototypes from which
low and medium cost housing could be developed. Charles was involved in designing two Case Study
Houses, both located in Pacific Palisades, his own house as well as John Entenza s. The Eames house
was designed with Ray, with initial contributions from Eero, and the second Entenza house was
fabricated through contributions of both Charles and Eero Saarinen. They created two houses that
shared a site, architect, and basic steel frame, but differed completely in form. They have been called
technological twins but architectural opposites.
The Eames house focused on the American Dream of anyone having the ability to own their own
house on their own land. Their original goal to provide low cost housing was starting to develop, using
prefabricated steel to develop one of the first houses of its kind. It reflected so much of Charles and
Ray Eames. In their brief of the house they expressed

Walter Payton Essay
It is a popular adage that there are only two certain things in life death and taxes. But for the last
decade or so in the National Football League, there has been another sure thing as soon as he was
eligible in 1993, Walter Payton was destined to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That is
exactly what happened in January, 1993. All that remains was the exclamation point on his spectacular
career enshrinement day on July 31, 1993, when Payton and four other members of the Class of 1993
received pro football s highest honor.
In 13 seasons with the Chicago Bears from 1975 to 1987, Payton literally rewrote the NFL record
book with his ball carrying feats. He rushed 3,838 times for 16,726 yards and 110 touchdowns all
records. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Walter takes pride in the little things, the blocking, the faking. Once against Cincinnati, he picked up a
couple of linebackers and liked to have killed them, Payton s last Bears coach, Mike Ditka,
remembers.
His teammate, Brian Baschnagel, insisted that Payton could play any position. Then he hesitated: I
guess at 5 10, 202 pounds, his size might limit him at defensive tackle. The most incredible thing I
ever saw was the time he threw me a 50 yard touchdown pass. He was literally going down and he had
to whip the ball that far sidearm.
Payton played football with the enthusiasm of a 10th grader trying to be the best tailback on the team,
teammate Dan Hampton once said. He trained tirelessly by weightlifting and jogging during every off
season and always appeared at training camp in perfect physical condition.
He missed only one game in his rookie 1975 campaign in his first 12 seasons. I could have played but
my coach, Jack Pardee, wouldn t let me. I don t count that as a miss, Payton insisted.
Payton never tried to avoid contact. In fact, he relished it. His only possible flaw was his reluctance to
run out of bounds. He would rather punish a tackler than let the tackler punish him.
More than one opponent accused him of going out of his way to run over them and Payton readily
admitted that was

Descriptive Essay About Comeback
Comeback Wake up, Wake up, His mom yells him from his doorway. He slowly got up out of his
queen size bed and made out some of the words his mom said like where, to, be, late, but nothing after
that. He stuttered as he walked over to his white dresser in the closet of his room. He opened the
drawer slowly not knowing what to wear. Which felt like an hour but was only forty five seconds he
finally found what he was going to wear. He soon made it to the bathroom, turning the cold shiny
handle of the shower and not even waiting for it to get warm. Hurry up, his mom yelled as he hopped
out of shower and quickly put his clothes on. He was in such a hurry, he almost slipped on the slippery
cold tile of the bathroom floor barely catching himself with granite counter top of the sink. His mom
was waiting patiently in the car not knowing if he would be there until another two hours. Suddenly as
he looked at his phone charging on his bed stand he noticed the time. He basically sprinted for the
elevator in his five story house with his gear and rode it down three floors to the main floor. He
jumped out of the elevator and sprinted to his car still sore from being at the ice rink the last four
nights practicing and training. He wasn t happy that he couldn t get anything to eat, but new there
would be snacks on his plane. They sped out of the long driveway of the five story house in East

The Lack Of Ppi Claim Deadline Hurt Lloyds Shares
5 Will the lack of PPI claim deadline hurt Lloyds shares?
The PPI (Payment Protection Insurance) scandal has gripped the United Kingdom, as millions were
seemingly undone by this somewhat fraudulent contractual term. PPI is also known as credit
insurance, loan repayment insurance, or credit protection insurance and relates to the insuring of a
loan repayment should a borrower become ill, unemployed, or pass away. Sadly, while it sounded like
a fair enough concept on paper, it was far from it on reality. Banks such as Lloyds were mis selling
PPI, with some even having no idea that they had PPI until they faced charges later on. The issue
related to PPI would take years to come fruition, but when it did Lloyds shares would pay a heavy ...

This presents a serious issue for Lloyds and Lloyd shares, especially considering that in other
departments the bank is seen as a notably strong performer.
Addressing the matter head on, Lloyds is leading the charge when it comes to capping the time in
which a PPI claim is made. The original plan was for a deadline of 2018 to be implemented, but
Lloyds want it brought forward in attempt to boost Lloyds shares prospects. Speaking on the matter
Lloyds Finance Chief George Culmer said, We think that by implementing a shorter time bar, it will
force people s hand. It will make those people who have a potentially outstanding claim to act more
quickly . Pushing the matter forward, he has also declared the original cut off date of 2018 to be
unnecessary and excessive .
The facts are clear; people are apprehensive when it comes to Lloyds shares because the matter of PPI
has still yet to be settled. The results announcement failed to deceive in the sense that PPI is being
shown to be a huge burden on Lloyds, and in many ways is a black cloud that is hanging over the
bank. Since the turn of the 2008 credit crisis, Lloyds is one of the few banks that has been truly able to
steady ship. The problem is that due to PPI concerns that isn t necessarily showing within the price of
Lloyds shares.

Biometrics And The Black Market For Recognition Purposes
Just imagine walking into a GAP clothing store as a device measures a person s eyes for recognition
and then proceeds to deliver custom content on items previously purchased. In the futuristic sci fi
thriller Minority Report a scene, exactly as described, unfolds. The story was set in Washington D.C.
in the year 2054. While the film was filled with hero s, hacker s, and drama, a city wide optical
recognition system was used to identify its citizens. Minority Report gave an interesting perspective
on how biometrics might work in the future for recognition purposes. It also sparks the imagination on
what other forms of biometrics could be used to identify individuals. Is a journey to the black market
for a dicey eye transplant in our future?
Biometrics is a term that refers to the broad amassment of various human characteristics. In computer
science, biometrics authentication is used for access and a form of identification. Biometrics can also
be used to survey and identify individuals in groups. Statistically, biometrics are unique and
measurable to only one individual. When biometrics are used in authentication they can be broken
down into two groups of measurability, physiological characteristics and behavioral characteristics.
Physiological characteristic can be, but are not limited to, Biometrics that consist of a person s

St. Thomas Aquinas Arguments On Lawful Suicide
The topic of whether or not suicide is lawful is very popular among both ancient and modern
philosophers. Two of the most notable minds to opposing the issue include St. Thomas Aquinas and
Immanuel Kant. Both men come from different worlds separated by the centuries. Even though they
both oppose lawful suicide; they approach the topic in differing ways. I will analyze both of their
arguments, compare the similarities and differences, as well as provide my own though which I find to
be most agreeable. St. Thomas Aquinas is a widely renowned Christian theologian and philosopher, as
well as an important doctor of the Church. Because of his deeply rooted Catholic faith, Aquinas
reasoning is based heavily on Church doctrine and scripture. However, he is also known for his study
of Aristotle, whose more practical views he intertwines with Christian teaching. For Aquinas, the idea
of suicide is an obvious violation of Christian doctrine as well as the worst possible offence against
God. Aquinas argument against the idea of lawful suicide is rooted in the rules within his definition of
natural law. To Aquinas natural law is based on practical reason of beings. This practical reason is
conveys the notion that all beings naturally seek good ends. We are naturally inclined to do good
actions and avoid evil ones. His view is influenced from Christian ... Show more content on

The Importance Of Technological Changes In Education
From the past 20 years, there have been profound changes in education that people ever dreamt of.
Starting from the Abacus which made learning math easier, to word processor that changed the means
of writing and presenting a research paper; from the very beginning technological changes has shaped
education but with the addition of digital changes it has widely increased the speed of transforming.
According to the Global Competitiveness of Factors (2017), in year 2016 2017, the Philippines ranked
83 over 138 countries under the Technological Readiness Pillar. The Technological Readiness pillar
have 7 indicators, three of which are based on opinion survey questions (availability of latest
technologies, firm level technology absorption, and FDI and technology transfer) among CEO
respondents whose observations determine the country s ranking. Thus, technology has almost
influenced every aspect of life today and education is no exception. According to Jayson (2013), both
private and public sectors approve that technological innovations will continue to have major effects
on teaching approaches over the coming years. The walls of the classrooms are indeed no longer a
barrier as technology provides new ways of learning, communicating, and connecting efficiently. As a
result, according to Ayas (2002), new teachers are expected to enter the educational field with
knowledge not only in their content areas, but of technology as well. Visual learning employs the use

The Establishment of a Supreme Law Constitution in New...
The establishment of a supreme law constitution in New Zealand would enable the judiciary to have a
stronger role, and greater power, to check the executive and legislative branches of government. At
present our laws do not allow our judiciary the power that the American judiciary enjoys.
The creation of a supreme law constitution enforced by the judiciary would enhance the judiciary s
present role and powers and its ability to act as a check on the other branches of government. This can
be seen through the idea of a supreme law constitution, compared with New Zealand s current
constitution, the present nature and extent of the New Zealand judiciary s role and power to check the
other branches; and the role and powers that the judiciary would have under a supreme law
constitution, and how this would change its ability to check the other branches of government.
America has supreme law because their constitutional document is supreme which means it is the
supreme law of the land and overrules all other law in America that is not within the constitution.
Their supreme law constitution differs from New Zealand s current constitution as there is no
entrenched law that forms New Zealand s constitution. America s constitution distinctly sets out the
powers as well as the restrictions of the executive, legislature and judiciary in the own sections. They
do not have an overlap between their branches like New Zealand s system. America has put its Bill of

In the opening of Sister Carrie, Carrie is boarding a train from her small town, Columbia City, to
Chicago. Sister Carrie is set in the late Nineteenth century, and Carrie is moving to Chicago following
the economic boom that succeed the Civil War after Reconstruction. Chicago was one of the largest
American cities at that point, and Carrie joined the massive queue of wage earners searching for
factory work in large cities. While she is searching for work there are constant references to Carrie s
infatuation with material items. A huge theme in Sister Carrie is the obsession with material items. In

wage job and experiences with her sister are not enough to satisfy her, she runs off to be Drouet s
mistress. She lives comfortably with Drouet for awhile, however when she is introduced to George
Hurstwood, she begins to believe that the life she is currently living is very modest and bland. She
soon partakes in a love affair with Hurstwood, unaware that he is a married man. When Drouet refuses

that Carrie has little devotion to people. Although she did not leave Drouet, her actions and lack of

A Research Report On Zeus Botnet
Aim of this report is to build Zeus botnet in a test lab to understand its workings, applications and
risks.
Zeus, or as it is known under its other name Zbot or Trojan.Zbot is a Trojan horse that steals
confidential information of a user from a compromised computer (Ben Nahorney, 2014). At this stage
it can be downloaded from the internet and built for free at home (older versions) by using a building
tool called Trojan Builder, while new versions can be purchased (ibid). There are many different
versions of Zeus on the internet such as Citadel or GameOver Zeus. Once properly configured Zeus
botnet gives the attacker a high level of control over the functionality of infected computers (ibid).
It is distributed by spam and drive by downloads and is concerned with in particular to gather user s
banking credentials, logons, passwords and credit card information but can be customized to gather
other types of information also (ibid). It automatically gathers any internet explorer, FTP or POP3
passwords contained within Protected Storage using different methods (ibid). Most commonly used
method is monitoring websites included in configuration file allowing to intercept legitimate websites
and insert extra fields to get more data from the user (leaving user unaware throughout) (ibid). Also by
being infected, that computer becomes a part of a botnet that makes it available to perform any
requests of the attacker(s) (ibid).

1 What are the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear family?
A main advantage of the nuclear family is that a couple has ultimate privacy. Nuclear families incur
less stress and trouble when moving into a new home. There is a specific sense of freedom that gives a
nuclear family the ability to live life as they wish. It is also easier to avoid stress. A disadvantage is
that children are left to take care of themselves. Another disadvantage is that the feeling of safety and

Other competitors will sell more products: Because the supermarket of Gardiner Stores PLC doesn t

they make people redundant (explained above), so their competitors will take advantages on them, so

Rituals In John Wetering s The Empty Mirror
A ritual is a set of actions done in a specific order for a specific reason. Rituals are meant to signal the
importance of an observance because the ritual is unique, in that, it is only used for a special purpose.
One ritual that the author engages in is meditation which is an exercise aimed at detachment (Wetering
17). A specific meditation that is unique to each pupil is koan concentration. Meditation on the koan is
meant to discipline the monk and provide a concentration point for their meditation. Studying the koan
is also meant to lead monks to understanding that all things are connected. All beings are bound to
each other by strong invisible threads (Wetering 118). Another ritual in the book is the daily routine
that the monks undergo. The monks wake early, go to meditation, eat breakfast, see the master,
meditate in the afternoon, so on and so forth, each day repeating the same routine. This routine is also

The counsel for the appellant goes further to say that based on expert evidence, women with a long
history of violent treatment may react to provocation with what he calls a slow burn reaction rather
than an instantaneous loss of self control.10
The Judge held that the phrase sudden and temporary loss of control summarizes the main idea of the
defence of provocation, and that its main purpose as a defence is strictly concerned with the actions of
an individual who as not that that moment master of his own mind. However, the longer the interval of
time between the provocation and the fatal act the stronger the evidence on deliberation.11
The appellant s second submission concerned the way the judge in the first instance referenced sudden
and temporary loss of self control to the jury in the direction. The appellant submitted that this
direction was incorrect. He also proposed that the learned Judge s direction regarding the appellant s

the appellant criticized the learned judges direction on two grounds: Firstly, that the Judge did not
mention that the appellant was suffering from a condition known as the battered woman s syndrome
which so affected her personality that it put her in a state of learnt helplessness. Secondly, that the list
of characteristics should have been left open so that the jury may pick up on the fact that she suffered

Layers Of The Skin Essay
The skin is one of the most important organs of the body because it protects the
body from outer dangers, like, bacteria that can cause infections. There are many
structures that compose the skin, such as, the epidermis layer is the first layer of the
skin that is made of keratinized stratified squamous epithelial cells and has no blood
supply, and therefore it gets its nutrients through diffusion. This layer has many layers
before it reaches the second layer of the skin. The deepest layer is called the stratum
basale, this layer has a row of stem cells that are the most mitotic and nourished out of
all the layers of the epidermis. When the mitotic basal cells divide, one of the
keratinocytes daughter cells continue into the second deepest layer of ... Show more content on

The second deepest layer is called stratum spinosum, which is
composed of cells that contain thick intermediate filaments made from pre keratin
proteins that connect to desmosomes. In this layer the keratinocytes develop a spike
appearance and there is cell division, but not as much as the basale layer (1). This layer
also gets nourishment, but not as much as the basal layer, so when the keratinocytes
move to next layer of the epidermis they will slowly die until they get to the most
superficial layer, there they will become dead cells. The next layer of the epidermis is
the second superficial layer compared to the two deepest layers and it is called the
stratum granulosum. In this layer the keratinocyte go through a process called
keratinization, this is when the keratinocytes start getting filled with nothing but keratin
and they start to get flat. During this process, the keratinocytes organelles break down
and there are two type of granules that are taken in, which are lamellar granules that
contain water resistant glycolipids and keratohyaline granules that help

Donzoko High Socioeconomic Perspective
Oppression is a prologue of unjust and cruel control. It is closely associated with low socioeconomic
statuses making the desire to escape it very scarce. In Donzoko, by Akira Kurosawa and The Lower
Depths, by Maxim Gorky, characters are presented with low socioeconomic statuses. The absurdity
and cruelness of having a low socioeconomic status is displayed as well as the characters persistent
fight to escape it. The Lower Depths, by Maxim Gorky and the cinematic adaptation, Donzoko, by
Akira Kurosawa portray the inescapable oppressed socioeconomic status of characters, however, the
mean ways in which this is displayed vary as Gorky relies on dramatic conventions and Kurosawa
relies on cinematic conventions. In Donzoko, Akira Kurosawa utilizes the cinematic convention of
varying camera angles as it exemplifies the inescapable oppression and socioeconomic statuses by
expressing a multitude of perspectives. Throughout the movie, a reoccurring angle was shot from
below. The low angles intend for the audience to feel a sense of entrapment since only little sky and
high walls are seen in the background. In one scene Sutekichi whom is given a low socioeconomic
status walks outside. As a result of the low angle, the character is viewed from below and the audience
perceive a sense of entrapment. This sensation is justified by the seldom appearances of sky and
frequency of walls which expresses the impossibility of escaping this status. Additionally, the low
angle provides the

The Latest Major Dota 2 Tournament On Mainstream...
The latest major Dota 2 tournament was met with a huge reception and the largest prize pool in e
sports history to date. For the developers Valve, the tournament was a huge success and another
stepping stone in e sports rapid rise towards mainstream popularity and acceptance. However Valve
also made another and no less profound statement of intent with the tournament that marks them as a
distinctive force in the e sports and wider gaming industry and that is one of emphasising the
generative power of play. This statement of intent became clear after a controversial incident occurred
with the Ukrainian team Natus Vincere who employed a strategy that many considered to be a bug ,
glitch or exploit , or at least, certainly to an outsiders view. The strategy in question was the now
infamous fountain hook Pudge / Chen combination that utilises a unique ability of the two champions
(Pudges Meat Hook and Chens Test of Faith ) to create an effectively unstoppable move that pulls an
enemy hero into the certain death of the base fountain if executed correctly. The if word is key here.
This was an extremely hard combination to successfully employ that not only relies on a perfection of
team unity in combining moves, but also on a huge level of individual skill on the part of Natus
Vincere s Dendi in landing the initial Meat Hook from Pudge. However for the average spectator,
many of whom were from a League of Legends background (1), it looked like an (albeit fun) exploit

Analyzing Hershey s Tragedy Of The Commons

D Alessandro 2 Tragedy of the Commons
ABSTRACT
This experiment was used to explore how finite resources can be used and exploited when they are
shared throughout a group because of personal greed. The Tragedy of the Commons is the situation
where individuals shared a resource with others, but use the resource for their personal gain,
disregarding the impact it could have on the rest of the group and the fact that it is a finite resource.

ponds
In Part I, I took as many fish as I could, but in Part II, as a group we took only as much as we needed
to survive
If you cooperated that meant that everyone survived and the pond would not run out of fish.
In both the common and private pond I took only two fish so that the population of the pond would
reach carrying capacity for the start of each round.
Common usage can lead to exploitation because one of the members of the group could get greedy
and exploit the pond for everybody.
The ideal way to manage the common pond would be so that each party would only take what they
need so that the population of the pond could replenish for each round.
If I didn t know the students in my group I wouldn t want to communicate as much.
To avoid the tragedy of the commons there should be limits on how much of a resource people can use
over a certain time so that it doesn t get exploited.
If a new student joined my group we would not have been able to divide the fish up evenly to
everyone and that student might not have wanted to be as conservative as the rest of the people in my

even disagreements over its very existence. Before we get into the details, at least, let us look at one
definition. Social class is a set of concepts in the social sciences and political theory centered on
models of social stratification in which people are grouped into a set of hierarchical social
categories(Grant, J. Andrew (2001). Encyclopedia of International Political Economy ).British society

Marx thinks that the limited power of the worker is the base of the exploitation and the reason for the
conflict. He also believe that both of the class has their own wariness of the situation and unequal
states, they know their social position and why it is the way it is. But appearance of calm is the result
of the education of the capitalists . The workers are told they world works this way and it is
unchangeable, the both parties are compatible with each other. And he suggests that workers need to
be reeducated to gain control of the mind. Then there will be confrontation and gaining of leverage in
asking for better treatment or even revolution to put an end to the very existence of class . The radical
solution comes from careful philosophical thinking.
Weber s analysis of class likes Marx s. The difference is he sees the social classes as more complex
classes, and he argues about social stratification in social class with wider meaning. Weber argues,
Marx s famous dictum that Class . . . is ultimately market situation should be read in the light of his
methodological individualism, with the result that class analysis reduces to a weak rump of residual

Oppression Of The United States
In this course we learned about many different types of oppression, from the time America was first
discovered and the discoverers began oppressing the Indians, to slavery, to the oppression of the
mentally handicapped, all the way to more modern times in schools were students are being
oppressed. When the Europeans and Spaniards first discovered North America all was well. The
Indians at first were truly intrigued with the white man as the brought all sorts of new stuff to trade.
Matter a fact the first set of settlers would not been able to survive without the help of the Indians.
Unfortunately, the settlers had very little respect for the land and resources. The Europeans then
starting using violence to get what they wanted and as the number of settlers increased the Indians
new that they were in over their heads. With all the new settlers came diseases such as small pox and
measles. These diseases hurt the Indian tribes severely, and with the ignorance the settler s wars
began; the Indian Wars, the Indian Removal Act, Wounded knee, and the trail of tears are only a few
of the many. The U.S. Government took it upon themselves to start relocation programs, with these
programs the Indians were ripped from their homes, required to speak only the language of the settlers
and robbed of their customs. The children of the tribes were taken away and sent to special schools to
Americanize them and forget about their heritage. Then in the late 1800 s the government started

Reaction Paper On Exorcism
Exorcisms are rituals performed on those speculated to be possessed by an evil spirit. The exorcists
who do the act of removing demons are typically Catholic priests. An exorcism is the process of
driving out demons, associated with primitive Roman Catholic beliefs. Though the idea of exorcisms
are mainly related to Roman Catholics, there is documentation of Jesus Christ performing an exorcism
in the Holy Bible. This is a much older concept that is not widely believed the way it was in earlier
society.
Possession occurs when a person, place, or thing is taken over by a demon; which is when exorcisms
become necessary. Baptismal and simple exorcisms are preformed to avert possession, while a real
exorcism takes place after possession. The theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first is recognizing the presence of the demon. The second is pretense, the demon does its best to
act as if they are the person they are possessing. The exorcist tries their best to discover the demon s
name, which gives the exorcist control over the demon. The breakpoint is when the demon reveals
their identity, they will speak in their own voice. During the step that is referred to as the clash, the
exorcist and demon battle each other to win over the being of the possessed. If the exorcist is
successful throughout the first four steps, then the fifth is expulsion. At this point, the demon has
either departed or was killed. Each of these five steps have to be done correctly in order for the demon
to be driven out.
The success of an exorcism is dependent upon the exorcist. Your typical priest most likely isn t trained
to perform an exorcism. However, each Catholic church needs at least one exorcist. IAEO, the
International Association of Exorcists, was established in 1992. Pauline Fr. Gabriele Amorth is
supposedly the founder of this organization that originated in Rome. There are over five hundred
members in the IAEO, even though exorcisms today are extremely rare. An exorcist must be
exceedingly educated on exorcisms and dedicated to warding off evil

The World Of The Vietnam War
The year is 1965: the skate board is the latest craze in kids toys; the miniskirt makes its appearance;
hypertext is introduced for linking on the Internet; Kellogg s Pop Tarts pastries are created; Sonny
Cher make their first TV appearance in American Bandstand ; rights activist Malcolm X is shot dead;
the Gemini 3 launched the first US 2 man space flight; and the first United States combat forces arrive
in Vietnam. This was not the start of the Vietnam War since the war actually started in 1955, pitting
Communist North Vietnam against anti Communist South Vietnam. The United States believed it had
to protect South Vietnam from Communist take over and is the reason the U.S. supplied South
Vietnam with millions of dollars in military aid as well as with military advisors from the start of the
war. Eventually, the US had no other choice but to send troops to war and it became the first war
Americans opposed publicly and passionately, making the US involvement in the Vietnam War a
shameful venture rather than a noble cause. Although the Vietnam War was the first televised war, it is
unclear if Vietnam War films are able to give an honest portrayal of the Vietnam War experience, or if
truer reality of the war can be found only in textbooks. The Vietnam War was so much a part of
American life that it could not be ignored, and with war films losing their appeal after World War II, it

Thus, young designers will seek to profit from the support of investors to finance their growth.
Branded watches have continuously been well liked throughout the years and will still continue to be
trendy in the years to come for the reason that after consumers buy into a brand, they reap countless
benefits. With their knowledgeable purchasing routine, consumers continue to purchase in style brand
watches for five important reasons.
1. The primary goal consumers get branded watches is that they are very dependable. This is of unique
significance because they will know from their previous experience whether a brand is of quality or
not. After the watch confirms reliability, the brand will be bought often times by loyal customers. As a
result, the top quality brand watches will continually perform well.
2. The next cause boils down to a large extent of how the consumers regard the brand. There are many
assorted brands available in the marketplace these days but consumers continue to obtain only a
handful of the brands they trust and are familiar with. The reason for this is that when consumers
decide to buy a new watch, they normally purchase a brand which they highly regard.
3. These fashionable brand watches are known to be tough and this is the third reason why consumers
obtain branded watches. It is a considerable aspect to be aware of

Negative Effects Of Radiation
The word radiation means several things such as radio waves and light. When such types of radiation
travel through substances, it can become charged electrically. When it is also in a tissue that is living,
the ions that were produced by the radiation can affect biological processes (IAEA (International
Atomic Energy Agency), n.d.). There are several ways people are exposed to radiation, including x
rays, radiation used to diagnose diseases and for cancer therapy, nuclear explosive testing that goes
wrong, small quantities of radioactive materials released into the environment from coal and nuclear
power plants, etc. (IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), n.d.). The radiation that is emitted
from cell phones, X ray machines, and nuclear power plants are very different. They are all energy, but
the difference is that unlike the others, cell phones are not radioactive, and harms the body, unlike the
others (Ornes, 2011).
The phones operate by altering your voice into a radio wave, which it dispatches with an antenna that
it also uses to receive the radio waves from the other line, which it changes to a voice that the user can
comprehend. Since the radio waves are also a type of radiation, if the user s phone is close to the user
s head, the tissues can absorb the radiation, which hasn t yet been confirmed, but could later on be the
cause of a brain tumor or disease, since the use of cell phones didn t start until about 15 years ago
(Ornes, 2009). Studies show that spending 50 minutes or more with an active phone near your ear
increases harmful brain activity because when cell phones are actively working, the radiation they
emit could hurt you, after years of using a cell phone. Although there is a lot of evidence that suggests
that cell phones are harmful, scientists, are still not completely sure (Ornes, 2011). SAR (Specific
Absorption Rate) is the rate measurement of how much radiation your body s tissues can absorb when
you are using a cellphone. The SAR for a cellphone is set for a limit of 1.6 watts of energy absorbed
per kilogram of body weight (Highest and Lowest Radiation Cell Phones, 2017).

Advantages Of Competitive Advantage
Competitive advantage and sustainable competitive advantage
All men can see these tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which
victory is evolved. By Sun Tzu
Tactics may represent a brief competitive advantage. Strategy might signify a constant competitive
benefit.
An organization must implement a set of competitive advantages which can maintained and required
for the customer, fulfilling their requirements with the goal that they will pay for the value to contend
adequately in the worldwide condition.
Value chain analysis is a capable instrument for the organization to distinguish its important actions as
having the capacity to finish competitive need and make predominant routines. The value chain has
been utilized as an intense tool for management as it comprises of the various activity the company
uses to produce value and its profit. (Edwards, 2002)
Value Chain
The idea of the value chain is based on the process view of JULIA JUICE, the idea of seeing a JJ
organization as a system, made up of subsystems each with inputs, (mindtools, 2017) Conversion
procedures and productivities. Inputs, conversion procedures, and productivities include the
procurement and utilization of assets cash, work, materials, hardware, structures, land, organization

the Arabic buraq which was the name for borax. Boron is in the 13th column and second row of the
periodic table. Boron had five protons and five electrons with an atomic weight of 10.81. Boron
belongs to the boron group on the periodic table. Boron is also a metalloid which means it is neither a
metal nor a non metal (Boron Element Facts).

Boron is found combined in borax, boric acid, kernite, ulexite, colemanite and borates, but is never
present in nature in elemental form (Boron Element Information, Properties and Uses). Boric acids
can be found in Volcanic spring water. The world production of Borate is about 2 million tons per year
coming from Tibet, Chile, Turkey and the US (Boron Element Information, Properties and Uses). The

Lenny s Controversy About Selling Cheap Baskets Online
Lenny s opportunity experienced a needed evolution. It is difficult for investors and participants in the
company to get excited about selling cheap caskets online. First of all, the topic of funerals is a topic
that few people want to talk about as it reminds people of their own morality. Second of all, as Randy

competitive advantage. This additionally makes it unattractive to investors. From a personal
standpoint, as a member of a family who has had to plan their fair share of funerals, online casket
shopping would not have even been a consideration. In my family, the look and feel of a casket played
a significant role in our ultimate casket decision. If a person had to buy a casket online, they would not

If this incident occurred, it would result in extreme customer dissatisfaction at a moment in which the
customer is already feeling vulnerable. For these reasons, when I read Lenny s original idea for
Funerals.com, I just shook my head. In his final opportunity Lenny has more passion and comes
across to Randy as less profit driven. In his second meeting with Randy, Lenny is not just spewing
information that he believes both investors and Randy want to hear, like with his first opportunity, but
he actually has passion and purpose behind his pitch. It is this passion that will help him through the
rough stages of a start up. The final opportunity offers the intersection of the Deferred Life Plan.
Lenny is doing what he has to do, by growing the business, while pursuing what he presumably loves,
helping grieving families. In his original opportunity, all Lenny wanted to do was to sell cheap
caskets, make a profit, and sell the company as soon as

  • 4. The Animal Of Animal Welfare Act Animal Welfare Act Casandra Sasaki Eagle High School Abstract The Animal Welfare Act, passed in 1966, establishes guidelines for the protection of animals used for research and other purposes, defines the requirements for facilities housing those animals, and outlines the procedures for inspection and maintenance of those facilities by government entities. This paper explores the pros and cons of the act as well as the effectiveness of the guidelines and their enforcement. Finally, it makes several recommendations based on the evidence presented. Policy Identification and Explanation The policy that I am researching is: United States Code: CHAPTER 54 TRANSPORTATION, SALE, AND HANDLING OF CERTAIN ANIMALS. (Animal Welfare Act, 2015). This is the Animal Welfare Act. Because the Animal Welfare act has so many parts to it, the section I am focusing on is: §2143: Standards and certification process for humane handling, care, treatment, and transportation of animals (Animal Welfare Act, 2015). This specific section is focusing on animal testing in research facilities across the United States. It tells the minimum requirements for animals housing, treatment, care, sanitation, etc. This section also states the requirements for procedures done on animals. Section three, part B states: the principal investigator considers alternatives to any procedure likely to produce pain or distress (Animal Welfare Act, 2015). • 5. Foodborne Illness Is A Big Problem Have you ever wondered how big of a problem foodborne illness is on the federal level in the United States? Foodborne illness is a big problem on the public health. Foodborne illnesses are infections caused by beverages or foods that contain harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites and/or chemicals. Foods can also be contaminated with bacteria during the food preparation you do at home or the preparation done at a restaurant. If the food cooks or food preparers do not carefully wash their hands, kitchen tools, cutting boards, and other kitchen surfaces that come into contact with raw foods, cross contamination can occur which is the spread of bacteria from contaminated foods to uncontaminated foods. If hot food is not kept hot enough or cold food is not kept cold enough, bacteria can multiply. Bacteria multiplies very quickly when the temperature of food is between 40 and 140 degrees. Cold food should be kept below 40 degrees and hot food should be kept above 140 degrees. Bacteria multiplies slower when food is refrigerated. Freezing food can also slow or even stop the spread of bacteria. But once food is brought to room temperature once again the bacteria that is refrigerated or frozen becomes active once again. Thoroughly cooking foods can also kill bacterias that cause foodborne illnesses. The common symptoms of foodborne illnesses are vomiting, diarrhea, fever, abdominal pain, and/or the chills. The Federal government has estimated that there is about 48 million cases of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But for the last decade or so in the National Football League, there has been another sure thing as soon as he was eligible in 1993, Walter Payton was destined to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That is exactly what happened in January, 1993. All that remains was the exclamation point on his spectacular career enshrinement day on July 31, 1993, when Payton and four other members of the Class of 1993 received pro football s highest honor. In 13 seasons with the Chicago Bears from 1975 to 1987, Payton literally rewrote the NFL record book with his ball carrying feats. The most incredible thing I ever saw was the time he threw me a 50 yard touchdown pass. He was literally going down and he had to whip the ball that far sidearm. Payton played football with the enthusiasm of a 10th grader trying to be the best tailback on the team, teammate Dan Hampton once said. He missed only one game in his rookie 1975 campaign in his first 12 seasons. I could have played but my coach, Jack Pardee, wouldn t let me. I don t count that as a miss, Payton insisted. Two of the most notable minds to opposing the issue include St. Thomas Aquinas and Immanuel Kant. Both men come from different worlds separated by the centuries. Even though they both oppose lawful suicide; they approach the topic in differing ways. I will analyze both of their arguments, compare the similarities and differences, as well as provide my own though which I find to be most agreeable. St. Thomas Aquinas is a widely renowned Christian theologian and philosopher, as well as an important doctor of the Church. Because of his deeply rooted Catholic faith, Aquinas reasoning is based heavily on Church doctrine and scripture. However, he is also known for his study of Aristotle, whose more practical views he intertwines with Christian teaching. For Aquinas, the idea of suicide is an obvious violation of Christian doctrine as well as the worst possible offence against God. Aquinas argument against the idea of lawful suicide is rooted in the rules within his definition of natural law. To Aquinas natural law is based on practical reason of beings. The establishment of a supreme law constitution in New Zealand would enable the judiciary to have a stronger role, and greater power, to check the executive and legislative branches of government. At present our laws do not allow our judiciary the power that the American judiciary enjoys. The creation of a supreme law constitution enforced by the judiciary would enhance the judiciary s present role and powers and its ability to act as a check on the other branches of government. This can be seen through the idea of a supreme law constitution, compared with New Zealand s current constitution, the present nature and extent of the New Zealand judiciary s role and power to check the other branches; and the role and powers that the judiciary would have under a supreme law constitution, and how this would change its ability to check the other branches of government. America has supreme law because their constitutional document is supreme which means it is the supreme law of the land and overrules all other law in America that is not within the constitution. The deepest layer is called the stratum basale, this layer has a row of stem cells that are the most mitotic and nourished out of all the layers of the epidermis. When the mitotic basal cells divide, one of the keratinocytes daughter cells continue into the second deepest layer of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second deepest layer is called stratum spinosum, which is composed of cells that contain thick intermediate filaments made from pre keratin proteins that connect to desmosomes. In this layer the keratinocytes develop a spike appearance and there is cell division, but not as much as the basale layer (1). This layer also gets nourishment, but not as much as the basal layer, so when the keratinocytes move to next layer of the epidermis they will slowly die until they get to the most superficial layer, there they will become dead cells. The next layer of the epidermis is the second superficial layer compared to the two deepest layers and it is called the stratum granulosum. In this layer the keratinocyte go through a process called keratinization, this is when the keratinocytes start getting filled with nothing but keratin and they start to get flat. During this process, the keratinocytes organelles break down

It is closely associated with low socioeconomic statuses making the desire to escape it very scarce. In Donzoko, by Akira Kurosawa and The Lower Depths, by Maxim Gorky, characters are presented with low socioeconomic statuses. The absurdity and cruelness of having a low socioeconomic status is displayed as well as the characters persistent fight to escape it. The Lower Depths, by Maxim Gorky and the cinematic adaptation, Donzoko, by Akira Kurosawa portray the inescapable oppressed socioeconomic status of characters, however, the mean ways in which this is displayed vary as Gorky relies on dramatic conventions and Kurosawa relies on cinematic conventions. In Donzoko, Akira Kurosawa utilizes the cinematic convention of varying camera angles as it exemplifies the inescapable oppression and socioeconomic statuses by expressing a multitude of perspectives. Throughout the movie, a reoccurring angle was shot from below. The low angles intend for the audience to feel a sense of entrapment since only little sky and high walls are seen in the background. In one scene Sutekichi whom is given a low socioeconomic status walks outside. As a result of the low angle, the character is viewed from below and the audience perceive a sense of entrapment. This sensation is justified by the seldom appearances of sky and frequency of walls which expresses the impossibility of escaping this status. Additionally, the low angle provides the ... • 27. The Latest Major Dota 2 Tournament On Mainstream... The latest major Dota 2 tournament was met with a huge reception and the largest prize pool in e sports history to date. For the developers Valve, the tournament was a huge success and another stepping stone in e sports rapid rise towards mainstream popularity and acceptance. However Valve also made another and no less profound statement of intent with the tournament that marks them as a distinctive force in the e sports and wider gaming industry and that is one of emphasising the generative power of play. This statement of intent became clear after a controversial incident occurred with the Ukrainian team Natus Vincere who employed a strategy that many considered to be a bug , glitch or exploit , or at least, certainly to an outsiders view. The strategy in question was the now infamous fountain hook Pudge / Chen combination that utilises a unique ability of the two champions (Pudges Meat Hook and Chens Test of Faith ) to create an effectively unstoppable move that pulls an enemy hero into the certain death of the base fountain if executed correctly. The if word is key here. This was an extremely hard combination to successfully employ that not only relies on a perfection of team unity in combining moves, but also on a huge level of individual skill on the part of Natus Vincere s Dendi in landing the initial Meat Hook from Pudge. However for the average spectator, many of whom were from a League of Legends background (1), it looked like an (albeit fun) exploit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analyzing Hershey s Tragedy Of The Commons Robert Hoyt 9/14/14 D Alessandro 2 Tragedy of the Commons ABSTRACT This experiment was used to explore how finite resources can be used and exploited when they are shared throughout a group because of personal greed. The Tragedy of the Commons is the situation where individuals shared a resource with others, but use the resource for their personal gain, disregarding the impact it could have on the rest of the group and the fact that it is a finite resource. In both the common and private pond I took only two fish so that the population of the pond would reach carrying capacity for the start of each round. Common usage can lead to exploitation because one of the members of the group could get greedy and exploit the pond for everybody. The ideal way to manage the common pond would be so that each party would only take what they need so that the population of the pond could replenish for each round. If I didn t know the students in my group I wouldn t want to communicate as much. To avoid the tragedy of the commons there should be limits on how much of a resource people can use over a certain time so that it doesn t get exploited. When the Europeans and Spaniards first discovered North America all was well. The Indians at first were truly intrigued with the white man as the brought all sorts of new stuff to trade. With all the new settlers came diseases such as small pox and measles. These diseases hurt the Indian tribes severely, and with the ignorance the settler s wars began; the Indian Wars, the Indian Removal Act, Wounded knee, and the trail of tears are only a few of the many. The U.S. Government took it upon themselves to start relocation programs, with these programs the Indians were ripped from their homes, required to speak only the language of the settlers and robbed of their customs. This is a much older concept that is not widely believed the way it was in earlier society. The breakpoint is when the demon reveals their identity, they will speak in their own voice. During the step that is referred to as the clash, the exorcist and demon battle each other to win over the being of the possessed. If the exorcist is successful throughout the first four steps, then the fifth is expulsion. At this point, the demon has either departed or was killed. Each of these five steps have to be done correctly in order for the demon to be driven out. The success of an exorcism is dependent upon the exorcist. This was not the start of the Vietnam War since the war actually started in 1955, pitting Communist North Vietnam against anti Communist South Vietnam. The United States believed it had to protect South Vietnam from Communist take over and is the reason the U.S. supplied South Vietnam with millions of dollars in military aid as well as with military advisors from the start of the war. Eventually, the US had no other choice but to send troops to war and it became the first war Americans opposed publicly and passionately, making the US involvement in the Vietnam War a shameful venture rather than a noble cause. Branded watches have continuously been well liked throughout the years and will still continue to be trendy in the years to come for the reason that after consumers buy into a brand, they reap countless benefits. With their knowledgeable purchasing routine, consumers continue to purchase in style brand watches for five important reasons. 1. The primary goal consumers get branded watches is that they are very dependable. This is of unique significance because they will know from their previous experience whether a brand is of quality or not. After the watch confirms reliability, the brand will be bought often times by loyal customers. As a result, the top quality brand watches will continually perform well. 2. The next cause boils down to a large extent of how the consumers regard the brand. There are many assorted brands available in the marketplace these days but consumers continue to obtain only a handful of the brands they trust and are familiar with. The reason for this is that when consumers decide to buy a new watch, they normally purchase a brand which they highly regard. 3. • 42. Negative Effects Of Radiation The word radiation means several things such as radio waves and light. When such types of radiation travel through substances, it can become charged electrically. When it is also in a tissue that is living, the ions that were produced by the radiation can affect biological processes (IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), n.d.). There are several ways people are exposed to radiation, including x rays, radiation used to diagnose diseases and for cancer therapy, nuclear explosive testing that goes wrong, small quantities of radioactive materials released into the environment from coal and nuclear power plants, etc. (IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), n.d.). The radiation that is emitted from cell phones, X ray machines, and nuclear power plants are very different. They are all energy, but the difference is that unlike the others, cell phones are not radioactive, and harms the body, unlike the others (Ornes, 2011). The phones operate by altering your voice into a radio wave, which it dispatches with an antenna that it also uses to receive the radio waves from the other line, which it changes to a voice that the user can comprehend. Since the radio waves are also a type of radiation, if the user s phone is close to the user s head, the tissues can absorb the radiation, which hasn t yet been confirmed, but could later on be the cause of a brain tumor or disease, since the use of cell phones didn t start until about 15 years ago (Ornes, 2009). Studies show that spending 50 minutes or more with an active phone near your ear increases harmful brain activity because when cell phones are actively working, the radiation they emit could hurt you, after years of using a cell phone. Although there is a lot of evidence that suggests that cell phones are harmful, scientists, are still not completely sure (Ornes, 2011). SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) is the rate measurement of how much radiation your body s tissues can absorb when you are using a cellphone.
