In the film the inmates used cigarettes as money, a way to get things in the prison,

The summer between our sophomore and junior year of high school, we started
officially dating. After junior year, Theo dual enrolled in collegeand that was when

Both Plato and Aristotle were prominent philosophers during their time and even
today remain some of the most well known philosophers ever. Aristotle was a student
of Plato s and Plato s influence was noticeable throughout Aristotle s work. Though
Aristotle believed and would later teach a lot of Platonic philosophy, that did not
mean that he agreed with everything that Platotaught. One thing that Aristotlewould
critique about Plato s teaching was his idea of what he called Forms and their role in
the world. Although both Aristotle and Plato believed that something s form helped
classify what it is, I found Aristotle s understandingof form to be more convincing
because he believed that Forms consisted within the one world in which we all
already live as opposed to Plato who thought that the world of Forms was separate
from the world of everything else. Both men make very compelling points to back up
their beliefs, but I just felt Aristotle s theory was more believable.
For Plato, the sense of the forms was about the understanding of something higher.
Plato believed that, when one beholds the Forms, one exercises Pure Reason, and

I like to give more detail to the setting, but in Freed s story you have to use your
imagination to flesh out the details. That s fine in some stories, too. The story
takes place over a week or a little more. There are 4 instances of the next day/the day

fashion without many flashbacks, and Freed clearly tells the reader how much

monologues I am going to be writing about are two elderly women who are lonely
and trapped in their own homes. I will be talking about how Doris, one lady from
Cream cracker under the settee and Irene, the other lady in Lady of letters are
suffering from loneliness. Doris and Irene both live alone. They don t seem to have

Like when she complained to the council about a curb being cracked, little things
like this are quite amusing to see such an intelligent women making a fuss. Irene
and Doris also have some things in common. They both have lost loved ones in
their lives. This is an important story line in both monologues, as I will explain
later on. The music in these monologues feels the emotions of what the characters
are feeling. When there is a scene where Doris or Irene is happy, the music will go
along with the expressions. I could tell when the topic came up on the loved lost
ones it was a very dramatic time for Irene and Doris. The music drained out the

with the different types and style of music, and with the pauses where no music is

I, By The Audience Experienced The Journey Of Chris Ladd
In the short film i , the audience experienced the journey of Chris Ladd as he
worked to determine his true identity. His journey reflected the change in ideas and
measurement of personality over time. He ultimately concluded that there isn t a
way to label one s own identity, but rather all measurements are simply descriptors.
To arrive at this conclusion he partook in the three major methods of personality
study: Subjective, Objective and BLIS Data Inventories. Through these tests, it was
present that though major themes were continued throughout the process for Ladd,
each measurement gave a different and incomplete answer. This led me to believe
that if I were to also study my own identity, I would use similar but look at the
results through a different lens, specifically one of introspection. Ladd began his
journey with projective/subjective methods, which was completed through the use
of a psychic. He was critical of this methodology from the beginning, mainly due to
its founding in Freud and the lack of reliability in the studies. This is alluded to in

Understanding yourself is an important step of effectively communicating with
others. The two theories presented this week were both interesting topics as they
provided me with an opportunity to look at my own behaviors in introspection.
The theories for this weeks discussion are the social judgement theory and the

Rights act, there was segregation all through the United States. Examples of

according to color. African Americans were not allowed in the same schools as

In the poem We Wear the Mask, author Paul Laurence Dunbar uses figurative
language in many instances. Personification, one of the figures of speech most used
by Dunbar, can be seen continuously throughout his poem. For instance, in the first
line of the first stanza, Dunbar uses personification when he writes We wear the mask
that grins and lies because the mask is portraying human like qualities. The mask
represents how the subjects of the poem, African Americans, display a physical image

The concept of forbidden knowledge is merely a blockade to what lies beyond the
wider scope of human experience. Thus, forbidden knowledge as we know it is
nothing more than a liability to the harsh reality of life. In the case of Never Let Me
Go, forbidden knowledge is present in that Kathy is truly unaware of what life has in
store for her. She does not understand the restrictions of her life, nor how vital her
physical body is to the donations of humanity. With that said, the theme of forbidden
knowledgeis also present in Dr. Faustus, and The Machine Stops, for the characters in
both novels are equally intent on comprehending what lies beyond their physical
realms. While the concept of forbidden knowledge is present throughout the diverse
works of literature, it is also present in my own life. Not only has forbidden
knowledge sparked an interest in my ability to surpass milestones, but it has also
altered my perception of the world as well. Having considered that each of the three
novels depicts the concept of forbidden knowledge, it is quite evident that forbidden
