Energy Drinks In Sports Drinks
Problem and Purpose
The problem is that many people use and rely on sports drinks, many of which contain high levels of
calories coming from sugar. This is a problem not only due to the many headlines on the obesity
epidemic in this country, especially in regards to children, and how too many people eat too much
sugar and this leads to major health problems like obesity and diabetes. I and many others use these
beverages to refuel from an activity and feel more hydrated or just to enjoy, so I wanted to test these
products and other beverages to determine which of the beverages contain the highest concentration of
electrolytes. The purpose of this project is to see if there is the ability to gain enough electrolytes
without the need to use a beverage with high sugar/calorie content.
Hypothesis My hypothesis is that the beverages with the most electrolytes would have the least
amount of calories and the beverages with the least electrolytes will have the most calories because
calories in beverages are usually from sugar while electrolytes are made up of salt, calcium,
potassium. I think this because usually when something is salty (what electrolytes are made of) it
would be less sugary (what calories are made of) and vice versa.
Background Research
A great many athletes will drink a sports/electrolyte drink after an activity or workout, while others
will just drink these to enjoy or to feel more hydrated. In most of these situations the person drinking

Immanuel Kant s Definition Of Ritual Peace
Immanuel Kant gives two definitions of perpetual peace. In his first definition, he states that in order
for perpetual peace to be achieved, the constitution of every state has to be republican. For under a
republican constitution, the people do not have much power, which means they do not have consent to
declare war. Which he believes is good because they need resources which can be expensive.
furthermore, reparation after the war can be costly (pg. 21). His second idea for as to do with states.
He believes the only way for perpetual peace is if a league of nation is created. As he states, Peace
cannot be established or secured except by a compact among nations (pg. 123). He goes on to state
that, war is even more evitable if states are

The Importance Of Body Cameras In Schools
Reachers say that prior to 1980, whites and nonwhites were equally represented among first time
heroin users. However, now nearly 90 percent of the people who tried heron for the first time in the
past decade were white. And a growing number of them are middle class or wealthy. The image of
needle using inter city junkies is no longer the case, these new users are our suburban neighbors, sons,
daughters, fathers and mothers. Most opioid users first try pills from the family medicine cabinet. The
pill bottles that all of us keep around long after what they were originally prescribed for has been

programs to combat the rising use of opiates. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Examples Of Idealism In Frankenstein
Initially, the creature has a mind that revolves around idealistic perceptions. These perceptions came
into the picture due to the creatures encounters with humanity. Victor Frankenstein for example,
abandoned the monster at birth, consequently leading to the creature s inevitable distress: But where
were my friends and relations? No father had watched my infant days, no mother had blessed me with
the smiles and caresses;...All my past life was now a blot, a blind vacancy in which I distinguished
nothing (101). This feeling of distress was accompanied by the monster s longing for a family or
companion. This sense of loneliness sparked by Victor s immoral actions is what led to the monster s
first idealistic perception. A perception that regarded the belief that he could mutually and happily
coexist with other humans. A symbolic representation of this is exact idea is the monsters second
encounter with humanity, an encounter which occurs after the monster has had time to ponder and
fantasize about his idealistic perceptions. Confidently and proudly, the monster enters a village full of
humans: But I had hardly placed my foot within the door before the children shrieked. And one of the
women fainted. (74) expecting his idealistic belief to be the truth he was once again disappointed and
so he creature s idealistic beliefs are questioned. Despite this heartbreaking encounter with humanity,
the monster s idealistic perceptions and beliefs only increase further. He alters his

Tragedy or Comedy? Final Project The following sample chapter will include definitions of both
Tragedy and Comedy. An analysis of each play will then follow. The chapter will also include an
explanation of how each work embodies a specific theme and compare/contrast how one work s
approach to a theme or concept differs from that of the other play. One of the most widely used styles
of literature is Tragedy. Tragic is an adjective that describes numerous sad or depressing incidents that
plague everyday life. Tragedy however is a bit more specific. Literary Tragedy is a written piece
consisting of courageous and noble characters that must confront powerful obstacles being either
external or from within. These noble characters are the epitome of bravery because they display depth
of the human spirit in the face of danger, defeat and death. Tragedy became a popular type of drama
with ancient Greeks. Tragedies during the ancient Greek era had powerful and influential protagonists
living happy fulfilling lives, not your typical everyday people. During the progression of Greek plays,
the protagonists lives were turned upside down resulting in suffering and deep agony. Falling from
high to the lowest possible status is essential in tragedy because it makes the suffering much more
distressing. (Sewall and Conversi) Comedy is a literary genre and type of dramatic work that is
satirical in its tone. The

Ieyasu-Sama Research Paper
In the two weeks leading up to the Honda clan s hospitality of the retinues of both Oda Nobunaga and
Tokugawa Ieyasu, the infamous Tiger of Sawara saw little sleep. Although a war council was expected
amongst those attending, it would reflect poorly upon the Honda clan if they didn t receive the great
lords with all the pomp and ceremony that was expected. Thus the duties of resource management and
event planning were added on the already daunting task of security management. Rice was collected
from the domain, as was pickled vegetables, miso, fish and salt. Chefs well practiced in their arts were

great lengths to procure goods from Nagasaki: meats preserved in salt imported from Ryukyu and

The Divine Command Theory (DCT)
One important aspect to morality is the distinctive rational authority of moral commands, how
morality seems to command and favour us doing certain things that we are strongly compelled to
oblige, regardless of our own beliefs. Many metaethical theories try to explain how and why morality
works like this. One of these theories is the Divine Command Theory (DCT); that morality comes
from the commands of some type of god. DCT provides some compelling arguments to explain the
distinctive rational authority though but the drawbacks keep it from being a definitive answer. This
will be explained by examining what the rational authority of moral commands is in more detail, how
DCT attempts to answer this question, the objections that DCT faces and ... Show more content on

While there are some strong arguments to be made for DCT answering the question of distinctive
rational authority of moral commands, if DCT has a theory itself is not strong enough, its answer to
rational moral authority becomes questionable. The concept of a single external mind, or a god, is one
that has been criticised by many to show how the theory is implausible. One of these
counterarguments is the horrendous deeds argument. This brings up the possibility of morally wrong
actions to be right, with the same circumstances and intentions, as the god could change their mind,
just as people change their mind on what they like and do not like. However, the issue with this is that
we get the intuition that it is impossible for a morally wrong act to be morally right unless something
about it is changed. While it is possible that the god would not change their mind, the possibility that
they could is the important part. One counterargument to this is to say that the god would not make a
morally wrong action good because it is not in the nature of the god to command or favour us doing
morally wrong actions. However, this objection falls into the problem of the Euthyphro Dilemma, is

Istanbul Palaces in Pre-Ottoman Era Essay
Istanbul Palaces in Pre Ottoman Era Byzantium, Constantinople and Istanbul, these names are

BC, that s where they found the remains of sinking ships belong to the earliest human settlement of
the city. In 700 BC, when the Greek Colonists which was led by King Byzas arrived in the area, they
settled there because of the strategic location along the Bosphorus Strait, and late King Byzas named
the city as Byzantium. Succeeding its progression by the Greeks, Byzantium became an important part

The Swastika And Symbolism In Hinduism
THE MISINTERPRETED SWASTIKA
The word swastika is Sanskrit symbolizes good fortune . The swastika is an ancient religious icon
used in India, where it has been and remains a sacred symbol of spiritual principles in Hinduism. In
India from thousand of year clockwise swastik represented light or sun and anti clockwise version
represented darkness
Swa in swastika means one s own possession to imself or herself , natural and inborn.Asthi means
present that exists or being. Therefore, swasthi means self existence, the fact that one is alive and
awake. In Sanskrit, swasti is used as an blessing or declaration, meaning, may you be good, maybe it
good.
Buddhism has is own meaning for swasitk, it represent the foot print of Buddha.
The Swastika is one of the great example of what has happened to Hindu beliefs in Europe and other
parts of the world. The Europeans saw its as a variation of cross. They also felt it was a symbol of the
sun. These are nothing but false constructs . Just as the theories invented by some of scholars from

COST‐BENEFIT ANALYSIS OF AN RFID ASSET TRACKING SYSTEM
INTRODUCTION
This paper outlines the cost‐benefit analysis of using Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Radio Frequency
Identification (RFID) technology in an asset‐tracking application. To facilitate the analysis, RFID will
be compared against the incumbent technology, bar‐coding. An experiment comparing these two
technologies was conducted, and the findings from this experiment are further analysed.

With a time saving of 90.82%, RFID proves its time and cost savings while performing asset
inventories.
BUSINESS ANALYSIS
In order to clarify what savings RFID can provide for an organisation currently utilizing outdated,
inefficient logistics technologies, these time savings should be used, along with some general
assumptions, to project indicative cost savings. To facilitate analysis of the labour cost savings
associated to implementing RFID processes to an asset tracking context, the life cycle of a typical
asset is considered. The different types of assets and their individual characteristics are ignored to
simplify the analysis. In order for this document to provide useful figures for a wider range of
customers, a basic logistics department with varying asset levels and traffic will be analysed. Some
general assumptions are listed:  Average warehouse worker works a 38 hour week and earns a
$60,000AU salary.  Number of assets to be tracked: o 10,000 o 20,000 o 50,000 o 100,000  Each
tagged asset follows an assumed asset life cycle. Numbers of reads associated to each task: o Asset

Woolf On Lies
The struggle that women had to endure through the centuries has been rooted deeply to the idea that
women are inferior to men. Men, as the stronger sex, were thought to be intelligent, courageous, and
determined. Women, on the other hand, were more governed by their emotions, and their virtues were
expected to be chastity, modesty, compassion, and piety. Men were thought to be more aggressive;
women more passive. Women education was primarily at home by mothers or fathers. The education
comprised of the arts of sewing, water color, and polite conversation for the upper class and domestic
work for lower classes. Those who did attempt to educate themselves in the male subjects of Greek
and Latin were measured by male standards of scholarship when they attempted to express themselves
in print. While this might not be the current situation for women in society women had to fight to get
where they are right now. In this paper, I will to be discussing two visionary women who saw that
women needed change their position in society. I will be discussing Virginia Woolf s A Room of One s

Justification Of Justification
Justification is defined as an acceptable reason for doing something in the Merriam Webster
Dictionary ( Justification ). Since the beginning of time, people have been justifying their words,
actions, and thoughts. People are taught to defend their answers or explain why they hold certain
beliefs in order to convince others to side with them. In other words, justification is the reasoning
behind a certain concept. Justification can also be used to validate or invalidate more complex ideas
such as betraying the government for freedom. One major example of justification of unjust actions
occurred at the hands of the controversial Sons of Liberty during the Revolutionary War in America
when they tried to propagate rebellion.
Originally known as The Loyal Nine, the Sons of Liberty was first established in the summer of 1765
in order to oppose the various taxations Great Britain had placed upon the colonies ( Sons of Liberty ;
Taxation and Colonial Protests ). The Sons of Liberty got their name came from a speech given in
British Parliament by Isaac Barre referring to the general populous as Sons of Liberty ( Sons of
Liberty ). However, the term Sons of Liberty could refer to anyone within this infamous group or
those who generally opposed British policies (Carp 37). This group claimed that they stood for their
rights lawfully but that was not always the case (Crompton 13). It is true that they used legal petitions,
assemblies, and propaganda, nevertheless they also used

Live casinos promise to bring the real time casino experience into your home and many ways they do
just that. Through a video stream setup you are able to interact with the dealer and play as if you were
at a real casino. What makes them so popular is that you forsake all the expensive costs that come
associated with land based casinos, you can bet anything and everything and do so without the need to

Essay about Polar Bears and their Retreating Habitat
Some of the risk factors that contribute to its registration on the Species At Risk Public Registry are
hunting, reduction of availability of their prey, the reduction of their melting sea ice, and pollution, but
mainly human actions. Polar bears were hunted more commonly in the past, since they have been
considered at risk, they have been given regulations and laws to ensure their species survives, thus

The burning of fossil fuels is most of the cause to climate change, humans can affect them directly

Congenital Condition Of Congenital Heart Defects
Congenital heart defects are problems intrinsic to the heart that present at birth. They develop during
fetal growth in utero mainly due to genetic malformations, environmental factors, and multifactorial
reasons. The environment within which the fetus develops (the uterus) is a very crucial contribution to
normal fetal growth and development. It is common to find disruptions within this microenvironment;
the consequent effect being the disruption of normal growth and organ developments. The timing is,
however, important as well. During the first trimester, organs are being crafted from primitive cells

1) Modern astronomy basically begins with the re emergence of the heliocentric view of the universe
by Copernicus. Who were the four other major contributors to the development of modern astronomy
after Copernicus? Explain what those contributions were. Finally, why did it take so long for the
geocentric view of the universe to be overthrown and what does that tell us about scientific research
and our society, even today? Copernicus release his theory of the heliocentric view while he was on

We have developed a lot of new technology to all us to do fairly accurate carbon dating; that alone has
changed previously established theories. There is so much about our planet that we do not know or
completely understand, and part of it is we do not have the ability to process the evidence we have
correctly, or the evidence that was there, no longer exists because it has decomposed, or broken down
into the the dirt and the soil. This resembles the holistic nature of geography, which is both a strength
and weakness. Because geography depends on many other smaller fields of knowledge, and
interconnect them into a larger picture, but then the holistic effect, causes people looking at the bigger
pictures, or a single field, to miss the specific details of cause and effect (Pidwirny, 2006).

Zimbardo s Theory Of Social Psychology
Throughout history there have been hundreds upon hundreds of influential figures, although not all of
them have devoted their career to understanding the human mind. Of the few who have devoted their
time to this hugely important task, Dr. Philip G. Zimbardo s theories and experiments have made him
stand out, and differentiate himself from the rest in his profession. Zimbardo s area of expertise in the
field of psychology is social psychology, the branch that deals with social interactions, including their
origins and their effects on the individual. Zimbardo may be most well known for his Stanford Prison
experiment, an experiment that seems to address the definition of social psychology perfectly. In this
experiment Zimbardo had clinically healthy and sane people volunteer for the position of a prison
guard or a prisoner and see how they behaved, for fifteen dollars a day. The prison was actually the
basement of the Stanford psychology building, where the experiment would take place for a planned
14 days. As said before, the prisoners and guards were all tested as mentally healthy, and for the sake
of the experiment were arrested, and processed on a random morning, August 14th 1971. (Zimbardo,
2007, p. 23). The results of this experiment are outstanding, shocking, and somewhat disturbing,
making this one of, if not, the most unethical psychological experiments. Although the experiment is
considered wildly immoral, Zimbardo is one of the most influential psychologists

China s Economic, Military, And Political Power
Abstract China has always been a country talked about whether it s because of trade that the U.S. and
other countries are involved in or how much they have grown as a country. You usually hear a story in
the news about their growing power. China has become one of the top countries in the world ranked as
#2 right behind the United States with a GDP of $10.4 trillion U.S. dollars as of 2014 and continues to
rise. China has transformed itself to a manufacturing and exporting hub since they were a centrally
closed economy in the 70 s and has grown over 7% in the past couple of years while continuing to
grow. What makes China s economy powerful? As you continue to read this research paper you ll
understand why and how China has grown with their economic, military, and political power. I.
Background Information On China With a population of over one billion, three hundred and three
million, seven hundred one thousand people (1,303,701,000) China continues to grow. China s capital
is Beijing but other major cities include Shanghai, Wuhan, Shenyang, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Harbin,
Chengdu, and Chongqing. China s typical climate is subarctic in the north and tropical in the south.

The Role Of Abortion In America Today
Although abortions in America today are both effective and accessible procedures, it has not always
been that way. Precedent to the 1860s abortions were legal, but also very dangerous. However, during
the nineteenth century when new procedures were invented and more people became educated in the
medical field, abortions could, for the first time ever, be performed safely. What instead came along
was the criminalization of abortion. The procedure was now seen as the unethical taking of another
person s life.
Approximately a hundred years later, in the 1960s, women started recognizing how the state was
controlling their bodies by either forcing them to stay pregnant or face unsafe methods in order to
remove the embryo. As a result, several women s

Essay on History and Philosophy of Science
History and Philosophy of Science
The world of science, as we know it today, is a difficult subject to grasp. So many new ideas are
present and these new ideas are not interchangeable. Some parts do work together although as a whole
they don t fully coincide with each other. The three basic ideas that science is now based upon come
from Newton, Einstein, and Hawking. I call these ideas/theories new based on what I classify the state
of the scientific community of today. After looking at what is going on in science, it is clear to me that
the scientific world is in a crisis state. According to Kuhn, a crisis state is when science is in the
middle of choosing a particular paradigm to work under. For scientists, there is a general theme ...

Newton had given the world what we now know as physics. For the past three hundred years
Newtonian Mechanics have been taught to every student aspiring to elevate their minds. Newtonian
Mechanics were the end all to the questions that had plagued thinkers since the beginning of time. The
key difference is that Newton was never exposed to the world of science that technology had made
prevalent to the likes of an Einstein or Hawking, or even my colleague studying neuro surgery at John
s Hopkins University. When Newton was sitting under his apple tree conjuring up ideas for how and
why he did not fly off into space or why the harder you hit something the farther it goes, technology
was moving along at the rate of most people s grandmothers in their walkers. The scientists that had
surrounded Newton knew only of what they could see. Their were no people looking to the far ends of
the galaxies and their were no people looking in to the unseen cells that make up everything that we
can see. Basically, Newton did not have a reason to explain what he was not aware of. He did have
quite good reason, however, to explain why he got a bump on his head from that ripe apple that no
longer needed the shelter of the tree. According to Shlain, Newton set the world he knew to mechanics
and set the parameters for the new and final, well what was thought to be the final paradigm of the
world. Then in 1905,

literature will expose what is employee empowerment, why create an empowerment culture, the tools
for managing employee empowerment and what are the benefits of empowering employees. Interest in
employee empowerment in service industry firms has been associated with many of the key issues
related to employment practices in general namely in gaining competitive advantage through
improved service quality. (Lashley, 1999). I have reviwed a few amounts of literature from another

1.4 Barriers to Employee Empowerment According to (Greasley, et al., 2005) managers are faced with
many difficulties when attempting to empower employees and these may prevent a business from
becoming an empowered organisation. As cited by Greasley, et al, Johnson (1994) claims that there is
a threat that employees may not want to become empowered, as they fear the increased level of
responsibility and accountability. Fiermonte (2004) adds employees may be unwilling to accept their
new empowered status as they are afraid their actions and decisions may infuriate mnagement resuts
in them being disciplined or loosing their job.

establishment long enough to provide a return on investment.

Emily Dickinson As A Pre-Romanticist Poet In American Culture
Emily Dickinson is considered a powerful and persistent pre modernist poet in American culture.
Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was born on December 10, 1830 in Amherst, Massachusetts on the family
homestead ( Emily Dickinson ). Her mother and father were Emily and Edward Dickinson: she had a
sister, Lavinia Dickinson, and a brother, William Austin Dickinson. Dickinson began attending
Amherst Academy with her sister in 1840 and graduated in 1847. After graduating, she began Mount
Holyoke Female Seminary in South Hadley. While she attended Mount Holyoke, she started a pattern
that would continue through out her life (Brand 15). She would attach herself to an older man and
confide in him. Sending frequent letters and poems was how she communicated with him; Dickinson
referred to whoever this man was at the time in her life as master or preceptor . Benjamin Newton, one
of her father s law students, visited the Dickinson home frequently. He and Dickinson met through this
habit of his and he became her first master . Benjamin influenced Dickinson s writing greatly; he
introduced her to Ralph Waldo Emerson and encouraged her to write. After only a year at Mount
Holyoke, she left the school. The reasons for her departure have been never agreed upon. Dickinson
slowly submerged herself in a life of seclusion after her school years communicating mostly through
letters. She traveled with her father and sister to Washington, the furthest from home she would ever

Wayne has said during interviews. Ready for the madness? Check it out for yourself below! Number
Seven: Lil Wayne on His Love for Jay Last year, Weezy did an interview with Wild Wayne, a New

just the simple fact that I ve never listened to anyone else s music but my own, and since I m not able
to do that up in here, I don t listen to anything. Number Two: On Doing What He Wants This Weezy
gem is one for the books. During his infamous interview with Katie Couric before the 2009 Grammy
Awards, Lil Wayne was asked what a gangsta is. He responded, I don t take nothin from no one. I do
what I wanna do. And I m gonna do that until the day I die. And if I can t do that, then I ll just die.

The Rights Of The Woman
and even if life did start at contraception, the rights of the woman gets thrown out and then she is
treated as an incubator because she is forced to give birth. A birth should be a gift and a privilege, if
everyone is forced to have a child out of their will then rather than a privilege and a gift, these aspects
of being female become an unbearable burden (MIT Know The Facts). I have not every known
anyone who has gone through an abortion, but I can think of the pain and trauma a woman can go
through when they want to have an abortion. A man who married my aunt sexually assaulted my little
sister at the age of 13. I can only imagine if she was raped and became pregnant out of it. I personally
would want her to go through with the abortion because if not the emotional impact to be forced to
deliver the pregnancy to term would be catastrophic. If the law were that of Chile, El Salvador, or
Ireland, then my sister would be forced to give birth. People need not be so high and mighty and quick
to say no matter what you never abort the child. No little girl should be forced to give birth. A woman
is raped and in a country where abortion is illegal except in the form of rape a woman would be forced
to prove they were raped. What if a woman cannot prove that she was in fact raped? Then a woman
would be denied what she is entitled to. One out of five women do not come forward when sexually

Asynchronous Transfer Mode for Transmitting Information Essay
ATM is called Asynchronous Transfer Mode. ATM is a networking technology which transmits
information in the form fixed cells. The main vision behind designing ATM was integration of
services and performance requirements of both telephony and data networking which was shortly
called Broadband Integrated Service Vision (B ISDN). This cell relay protocol was designed by ATM
forum and was universally adopted by ITU T. Usually the size of the fixed cells is about 53 bytes with
5 bytes for header and 48 bytes payload. When compared to the cell sizes used in the previous
technologies, the size of an ATM is small. The smaller size of the ATM cells gives us a major
advantage. ATM enables us to transmit video, audio and data over the same network ... Show more

This should be done without any degradation in the performance or without requiring any
replacement. 3. The design must be implemented in a less expensive method. In case the ATM
becomes the backbone of the international communications the cost of implementing it should not be a
major barrier. 4. The proposed system must ensure accurate and predictable delivery. This is possible
only if ATM is a Connection Oriented system. 5. The major objective of ATM was to move most of
the functionalities to the hardware side and have comparatively less functionalities in the software.
This will ensure higher speed in the delivery of packets. It is clear from the above points that the
major goal of ATM was to ensure guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS). To ensure this various service
classes were defined by the ATM forum like Constant Bit Rate, Real time Variable Bit Rate, Non Real
time Variable Bit Rate, Unspecified Bit Rate, Available Bit Rate. ARCHITECTURE OF ATM
NETWORKS The ATM is a cell switched network as discussed previously. There are two important
interfaces which acts as a backbone to the whole architecture of ATM. The first is Network to Network

used to connect the User access devices or the end points to the switches, while the Network to
Network interface is used to connect various switches. The connection between two end

Essay On Siddhartha
Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse details the life and quest of the novel s eponymous character, as he
ventures through countless walks of life in an attempt to achieve his ultimate goal: enlightenment. His
journey takes him through periods of both denial and excess, during the latter of which he meets
Kamala. Unlike Siddhartha, who spent his youth in holy devotion, Kamala is more akin to the average
person: she is a temptress, and thus has spent her life pursuing sensual pleasures and material wealth.

of love making, and to embrace the physical pleasures which he had so long denied. On his way to the

The War Of Canada During The Great War
At the end of the Great War, Canada plunged into economic darkness; the once powerful war industry
was no longer needed and factories shut down all over the country, causing unemployment for
civilians and veterans alike to skyrocket. This reflected on the military of Canada; vehicles that were
destroyed were not replaced; the number of permanent forces and militia barely grew. Canada s
military saw a period of inactivity that would even cause land, sea and air components merged as a
singular entity due to the Great Depression s effect on the military budget. However, the peace was not
to last. As Adolf Hitler s Germany appeared and showed the world its intentions, nations gathered and
Canada committed an important act demonstrating its independence as a nation; Canada declared war.
Viewed for a long time as a British colony even after Confederation, Canada took a stand against a
virtually universally recognized evil alongside the major powers of the world at the time. Canada s
participation in conflicts in many different operations throughout WWII demonstrated its military
effectiveness, but its important role in the D Day landings defined Canada s military competency
through the crucial Operation Overlord, dubbed by some as the beginning of the end of the Second
World War, in Normandy. Canada s role in Operation Overlord in Normandy solidified the military
structure that is our modern military and sculpted the image of an independent nation through Canada

Living During The Neolithic Period
Domestic versus wild is a separation seen during the Neolithic period. We see hunters slowly progress
into hunters and gathers and then we see an advancement of the people starting to live in permanent

Neolithic period. We see a transformation from the people following their food to settling down,
producing their own food and starting to view their settlements as their own. They go from, as one
may say, being one with the earth and following nature whether it is following food or climate

the calves, abdominal muscles and quads.
There s a great deal of exercises for each of these muscles, however experts agree that these 3 vertical
jump training exercises are some of the best ways to train your muscles.
The easiest of these training exercises is the calf raise. To perform this exercise take a stance having

will perform side planks. To perform this variation roll over to one side, with your elbow and forearm

Ecstacy Abuse Essay
GHB, or Gamma Hydroxy Butyric Acid is an intoxicating chemical with medical, recreational, and

found in every cell in the human body and is most properly considered a nutrient. It is believed to be a
neurotransmitter, although it is still unknown as to whether it exhibits all of the properties required to
be considered one.
GHB was first synthesized about thirty years ago by Dr. H. Laborit. He was a French researcher

many researchers have studied GHB s effects. In Europe it is used as a general anesthetic, a treatment

Some people find GHB useful for treating insomnia, others use it to treat alcoholism. Some use it as a
replacement for alcohol. The effects can be broken down by the dose amount.
Low Dose: .5 to 1.5g
This often causes effects similar to those of 1 3 drinks of alcohol. At this dosage, the user can fell a
mild relaxation, increased sociability, slightly decreased motor skills, mild dizziness, and other effects
similar to mild alcohol intoxication.
Medium Dose: 1 2.5g
This increases the relaxing effects and the physical disequilibrium experienced. Some report increased
appreciation for music, dancing , or talking. Many report positive mood changes. There is some
slurring of speech, silliness, and slight incoherency . Some report increased feelings of nausea and
grogginess. There are some reports of pro sexual effects, an increase in tactile sensitivity, relaxation,
increased male erectile capacity and heightened experience of orgasm, although some women report
that this is harder to achieve.
Heavy Dose: 2.5g +
A heavy dose can increase feelings of disequilibrium in many people to the point of feeling very ill.
(One reason the GHB has gained notoriety as a Club Drug is that some people experience extremely
positive feelings on Heavy Doses of GHB.) Reports of euphoria, feeling music deeply, joyous

He was criticized for his explicit lyrics and the negative references he made about Kim, his now ex
wife, his mother, and homosexuals to name a few. Critics claimed he is corrupting the minds of the
youth. Even still his talent was undeniable within the rap community. His ability write, rhyme and
flow on the microphone continued to keep the attention of many.
Against all odds, he had succeeded far beyond what the world presumed possible. His personal life
was cast into the limelight, as it was the center of most of his music. Marshall touched on topics many
would never rap about. He created an alter ego for himself, known as Slim Shady. He makes reference
to the fast changes in many of his songs, Ya know, I just don t get it, last year I was nobody, now I am
selling records. (Eminem). The criticism only gave him more to write about, most of the time
exaggerating what critics had to say about him. Parents claimed he promoted and provoked violence
in his songs, causing those that listened to his music to become violent. Gay activist protested against
him at the 2001 Music Awards, claiming he was homophobic his lyrics were hateful (Eminem s
Grammy Award Outrage, 2001). He had Elton John perform live with him at the show in order to
prove his lyrics were not to always be taken literally.
Eminem is well known for dis tracks, where he slices apart those that oppose him with his lyrics. If

Troubleshooting Centerfire Rifle
Troubleshooting centerfire rifles, there seems to be a few similar problem areas throughout the
different types of rifles. Failure to feed, failure to eject, failure to extract and misfire are the some of
the most common failures, usually from being worn out, misuse or not properly being maintained with
routine maintenance. Identifying what the problem is the best area to start to troubleshoot the cause of
the failure. Failure to eject can have several underlying issues depending if it is a semi automatic, bolt
action, lever action or slide action. The most common failure common across these types rifles is the
ejector spring is a week, broken or gummed up from oil, dirt and grease. For a bolt action rifle the

I must admit I have never heard of a Ruger Scout Rifle until reading this article. Looking at the
diagrams it kind of reminds me of M 14 carbine with a modern upgrade. Call me old fashion but I am
not sold 100% on synthetic stocks for rifles, except of course the AR 15 platform. I will have to seek
out a Ruger Scout Rifle and see what it is about. As far as the article this week it does not give any
troubleshooting advice on the Ruger Scout, but does offer some solid advice on the disassembly of the
rifle. The author is very adamant not to open then firing pin assembly as this is restricted to the
factory. This is due to very powerful springs and the need to proprietary tools. It appears the biggest
headache in disassembling the Scout is the forward mounting screw and lug. A very effective tool is
the California Torque Wrench with a hex adapter, it is designed to be used with super tight screws. The
action cannot be removed until these two screws are removed. Once the screws are removed the action
can be slowly lifted to assure the barrel and receiver remain level. The magazine well and trigger

upward and pull bolt to the rear while swinging the bolt stop

Analyzing A Piece Of Writing By Jessica Statsky
1.In the piece of writing by Jessica Statsky, she writes about children s sports and how they should not
be competitive. In making this claim she uses certain evidence to make her point valid. In one of her
pieces of evidence she uses states that, That a twelve year old trying to throw a curve ball, for
example, may put abnormal strain on developing arm and shoulder muscles, sometimes resulting in
lifelong injuries: (Statsky, 350). From this evidence Statsky is trying to make the claim that sports are
hurting children and could put a risk on their bodies and the development of their bodies, if they put
too much strain on themselves. Another piece of information Stasky uses says, The kids get so scared.
They get hit once and they don t wont anything to do with football anymore. They ll sit on the bench
and pretend their leg hurts (Stasky, 350). In the evidence that Stasky uses is good, but it is not very
ordinary situations that occur. She also does not provide any personal experience to go along with her
writing. Which in the end, would make the paper sound better and let the audience know that she has
her own experiences with playing sports at a young age. 2.In Christine Romano s assessment on
Stasky s work start off fairly well. She gives her credit where credit is deserved. Not to long after that
is when she starts to critize Stasky and her weaknesses. One of the points that Romano makes says,
Stasky s argument is also incomplete in that it fails to

A Critical Analysis Of Zia Akhtar s Article Aboriginal...
A treaty should not be seen as an alternative to constitutional recognition. Though, a reform of the
constitution itself will only yield a partial resolution for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders due to
its symbolic nature. A critical analysis of Zia Akhtar s article, Aboriginal Determination: Native Title
Claims and Barriers to Recognition , will emphasise the importance of recognition and self
determination to the Indigenous. This essay will explore the notions that reconciliation is more
achievable through constitutional recognition and treaty together, that changes must be made to the
Australian Constitution, particularly sections 25 and 51 (xxvi), and how the Native Title (Amendment)
Act has hindered recognition and determination in a variety of ways.
Constitutional recognition alone is not sufficient, as a preamble is tokenistic in nature. Thus, it is
necessary that more tangible insertions be made to the body of the Constitution in addition to a
preamble acknowledging Aboriginals. Akhtar s article emphasises a necessity for constitutional
change by stating that constitutional guarantees should be introduced to provide Indigenous Australian
s with enforceable rights that guarantee equality. Despite this, there is no suggestion by Akhtar to
include both. The inclusion of both is vital, as although the preamble is symbolic and does not invoke
physical change, it would be a formal acknowledgement of Aboriginals as the original inhabitants and
custodians of the

The Egyptian World
Throughout the Egyptian world, embalmers worked to preserve the inner life force that was thought to
reside within the body after death. It was common belief that by completing a seventy day process
known as mummification, the Ka, this spiritual entity, would be able to live on long after the person
died. Because of this, many people of the culture lived modest lives on Earth, saving immense
amounts of money and gold for intricate objects that could serve practical and decorative purposes for
their tombs. Every step of the preparations was handled with meticulous care as it was believed that
life on Earth was limited, while life in the afterlife was eternal. This cultural ideology of eternal life
after death is emulated by the statuary of the Egyptian world especially by the granite pair statue of
Nefu and Khemet setju from Giza, which was found in 1931 on the Harvard University Museum of
Fine Arts Expedition. During the Old Kingdom, artists worked to form statues that could accompany
the body within the tomb, and if necessary, serve as alternative dwellings for the Ka.The pair statue,
which was created between 2455 BC and 2350 BC in the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, was
likely created for this reason. One can identify the gender of the figures by recognizing how Egyptian
artists typically depicted males with darker skin than women. This common practice along with the
residual red paint on the body of the figure at the right, allows one to conclude that the person on

What is an RRSP?
A Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) is a tax deferred account designed specifically for
retirement savings. Any resident of Canada under the age of 71 who has earned income may establish
and contribute to an RRSP. (Edward Jones, 2013)
RRSPs are the Canadian government s way of helping citizens save their money for retirement.
Saving for 30 to 40 years of retirement may seem like a long task, but well planned contributions and
withdrawals from your RRSP can be a great way to get enough money for when you retire.
Objective
The objective of a RRSP is to provide individuals with an account which they may ... Show more

The maximum you can take out in one year is $10,000. You won t pay any tax on it as long as you pay
it back over 10 years. This does not include paying for a child s education.
My conclusion is that RRSPs benefit Canadians by reducing their taxes and allowing their savings to
compound tax free. Individual RRSP s are the most common type of RRSP s. RRSP contributions are
deducted from earned income before it is taxed, so the money that you put into an RRSP is not taxed
until it is withdrawn. Taking money out of an RRSP account before retirement can be very expensive
because withholding taxes often apply. The RRSP Home Buyer s Plan allows contributors to borrow
RRSP funds to finance the purchase of a home. Also that it would be the best to start making
contributions early to avoid early withdrawals.

The Qualities of Brutus in Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar ...
In Shakespeare s play Julius Caesar , Brutus is a main character and conspirator of the assassination
plot of Caesar. Unfortunately for Rome, Brutus does not wish to become the next ruler. If Brutus had
chosen to do so, he undoubtedly would have been one of Rome s greatest rulers, due to his many
virtuous qualities. One of those qualities is that Brutus is an honorable man. He does not have a single
iota of corruption But for supporting robbers, shall we now contaminate our fingers with base bribes,
and sell the mighty space of our large honors for so much trash as may be grasped thus? I had rather
be a dog and bay at the moon than such a Roman! (612) After Caesar is slain, Marc Antony sends his
servant to talk to Brutus because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no terror, Cassius, in your threats, for I am armed so strong in honesty, they pass me as the
idle wind which I respect not. (614) Many rulers allow their decisions to be based on emotion or
personal gain; however, Brutus is a more forbearing person. A perfect example is how Brutus
overcame the sadness and grief of killing his best friend for the good of Rome. Therefore, Brutus is a
stoic. Finally Brutus will put the needs of his fellow Romans in front of those of his own. Brutus is
originally brought into the assassination plot, because he truly believes in his heart that this is
something he must do for the good of Rome. If then that a friend demand why Brutus rose against
Caesar, this is my answer not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more. (595) After he kills
Caesar, he does not run and hide, but proclaims peace, and liberty throughout the Roman streets while
taking full responsibility for this deed. As I slew my best lover for the good of Rome, I have the same
dagger for myself when it shall please my country to need my death. (595) Brutus would have
absolutely been a great ruler due to this dedication and loyalty to his country. He would, at the very
least, have given his life to Rome when he felt they needed it. Brutus is an honorable man loved by
many in Rome. He joined the conspiracy

  • 2. Energy Drinks In Sports Drinks Problem and Purpose The problem is that many people use and rely on sports drinks, many of which contain high levels of calories coming from sugar. This is a problem not only due to the many headlines on the obesity epidemic in this country, especially in regards to children, and how too many people eat too much sugar and this leads to major health problems like obesity and diabetes. I and many others use these beverages to refuel from an activity and feel more hydrated or just to enjoy, so I wanted to test these products and other beverages to determine which of the beverages contain the highest concentration of electrolytes. The purpose of this project is to see if there is the ability to gain enough electrolytes without the need to use a beverage with high sugar/calorie content. Hypothesis My hypothesis is that the beverages with the most electrolytes would have the least amount of calories and the beverages with the least electrolytes will have the most calories because calories in beverages are usually from sugar while electrolytes are made up of salt, calcium, potassium. I think this because usually when something is salty (what electrolytes are made of) it would be less sugary (what calories are made of) and vice versa. Background Research A great many athletes will drink a sports/electrolyte drink after an activity or workout, while others will just drink these to enjoy or to feel more hydrated. In most of these situations the person drinking the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Which he believes is good because they need resources which can be expensive. furthermore, reparation after the war can be costly (pg. 21). His second idea for as to do with states. • 5. Examples Of Idealism In Frankenstein Initially, the creature has a mind that revolves around idealistic perceptions. These perceptions came into the picture due to the creatures encounters with humanity. Victor Frankenstein for example, abandoned the monster at birth, consequently leading to the creature s inevitable distress: But where were my friends and relations? No father had watched my infant days, no mother had blessed me with the smiles and caresses;...All my past life was now a blot, a blind vacancy in which I distinguished nothing (101). This feeling of distress was accompanied by the monster s longing for a family or companion. This sense of loneliness sparked by Victor s immoral actions is what led to the monster s first idealistic perception. A perception that regarded the belief that he could mutually and happily coexist with other humans. A symbolic representation of this is exact idea is the monsters second encounter with humanity, an encounter which occurs after the monster has had time to ponder and fantasize about his idealistic perceptions. Confidently and proudly, the monster enters a village full of humans: But I had hardly placed my foot within the door before the children shrieked. And one of the women fainted. • 6. Similarities Between Tragedy And Tragedy Kiera Dudley Professor Frances Fister Stoga English 240 15 December 2017 Tragedy or Comedy? Final Project The following sample chapter will include definitions of both Tragedy and Comedy. An analysis of each play will then follow. The chapter will also include an explanation of how each work embodies a specific theme and compare/contrast how one work s approach to a theme or concept differs from that of the other play. One of the most widely used styles of literature is Tragedy. Tragic is an adjective that describes numerous sad or depressing incidents that plague everyday life. Tragedy however is a bit more specific. Literary Tragedy is a written piece consisting of courageous and noble characters that must confront powerful obstacles being either external or from within. These noble characters are the epitome of bravery because they display depth of the human spirit in the face of danger, defeat and death. Tragedy became a popular type of drama with ancient Greeks. Tragedies during the ancient Greek era had powerful and influential protagonists living happy fulfilling lives, not your typical everyday people. During the progression of Greek plays, the protagonists lives were turned upside down resulting in suffering and deep agony. Falling from high to the lowest possible status is essential in tragedy because it makes the suffering much more distressing. (Sewall and Conversi) Comedy is a literary genre and type of dramatic work that is satirical in its tone. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Divine Command Theory (DCT) One important aspect to morality is the distinctive rational authority of moral commands, how morality seems to command and favour us doing certain things that we are strongly compelled to oblige, regardless of our own beliefs. Many metaethical theories try to explain how and why morality works like this. One of these theories is the Divine Command Theory (DCT); that morality comes from the commands of some type of god. DCT provides some compelling arguments to explain the distinctive rational authority though but the drawbacks keep it from being a definitive answer. This will be explained by examining what the rational authority of moral commands is in more detail, how DCT attempts to answer this question, the objections that DCT faces and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While there are some strong arguments to be made for DCT answering the question of distinctive rational authority of moral commands, if DCT has a theory itself is not strong enough, its answer to rational moral authority becomes questionable. The concept of a single external mind, or a god, is one that has been criticised by many to show how the theory is implausible. One of these counterarguments is the horrendous deeds argument. This brings up the possibility of morally wrong actions to be right, with the same circumstances and intentions, as the god could change their mind, just as people change their mind on what they like and do not like. However, the issue with this is that we get the intuition that it is impossible for a morally wrong act to be morally right unless something about it is changed. While it is possible that the god would not change their mind, the possibility that they could is the important part. One counterargument to this is to say that the god would not make a morally wrong action good because it is not in the nature of the god to command or favour us doing morally wrong actions. • 12. Woolf On Lies The struggle that women had to endure through the centuries has been rooted deeply to the idea that women are inferior to men. Men, as the stronger sex, were thought to be intelligent, courageous, and determined. Women, on the other hand, were more governed by their emotions, and their virtues were expected to be chastity, modesty, compassion, and piety. Men were thought to be more aggressive; women more passive. Women education was primarily at home by mothers or fathers. The education comprised of the arts of sewing, water color, and polite conversation for the upper class and domestic work for lower classes. Those who did attempt to educate themselves in the male subjects of Greek and Latin were measured by male standards of scholarship when they attempted to express themselves in print. Since the beginning of time, people have been justifying their words, actions, and thoughts. People are taught to defend their answers or explain why they hold certain beliefs in order to convince others to side with them. In other words, justification is the reasoning behind a certain concept. Justification can also be used to validate or invalidate more complex ideas such as betraying the government for freedom. One major example of justification of unjust actions occurred at the hands of the controversial Sons of Liberty during the Revolutionary War in America when they tried to propagate rebellion. Originally known as The Loyal Nine, the Sons of Liberty was first established in the summer of 1765 in order to oppose the various taxations Great Britain had placed upon the colonies ( Sons of Liberty ; Taxation and Colonial Protests ). The Sons of Liberty got their name came from a speech given in British Parliament by Isaac Barre referring to the general populous as Sons of Liberty ( Sons of Liberty ). • 20. Congenital Condition Of Congenital Heart Defects Congenital heart defects are problems intrinsic to the heart that present at birth. They develop during fetal growth in utero mainly due to genetic malformations, environmental factors, and multifactorial reasons. The environment within which the fetus develops (the uterus) is a very crucial contribution to normal fetal growth and development. It is common to find disruptions within this microenvironment; the consequent effect being the disruption of normal growth and organ developments. The timing is, however, important as well. During the first trimester, organs are being crafted from primitive cells and tissues. Internal and external factors, therefore, take the opportunity to cause disruption. The most common congenital anomalies are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Zimbardo s Theory Of Social Psychology Throughout history there have been hundreds upon hundreds of influential figures, although not all of them have devoted their career to understanding the human mind. Of the few who have devoted their time to this hugely important task, Dr. Philip G. Zimbardo s theories and experiments have made him stand out, and differentiate himself from the rest in his profession. Zimbardo s area of expertise in the field of psychology is social psychology, the branch that deals with social interactions, including their origins and their effects on the individual. Zimbardo may be most well known for his Stanford Prison experiment, an experiment that seems to address the definition of social psychology perfectly. In this experiment Zimbardo had clinically healthy and sane people volunteer for the position of a prison guard or a prisoner and see how they behaved, for fifteen dollars a day. The prison was actually the basement of the Stanford psychology building, where the experiment would take place for a planned 14 days. As said before, the prisoners and guards were all tested as mentally healthy, and for the sake of the experiment were arrested, and processed on a random morning, August 14th 1971. (Zimbardo, 2007, p. 23). The results of this experiment are outstanding, shocking, and somewhat disturbing, making this one of, if not, the most unethical psychological experiments. Although the experiment is considered wildly immoral, Zimbardo is one of the most influential psychologists ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So many new ideas are present and these new ideas are not interchangeable. Some parts do work together although as a whole they don t fully coincide with each other. The three basic ideas that science is now based upon come from Newton, Einstein, and Hawking. I call these ideas/theories new based on what I classify the state of the scientific community of today. When Newton was sitting under his apple tree conjuring up ideas for how and why he did not fly off into space or why the harder you hit something the farther it goes, technology was moving along at the rate of most people s grandmothers in their walkers. The scientists that had surrounded Newton knew only of what they could see. Their were no people looking to the far ends of the galaxies and their were no people looking in to the unseen cells that make up everything that we can see. Basically, Newton did not have a reason to explain what he was not aware of. He did have quite good reason, however, to explain why he got a bump on his head from that ripe apple that no longer needed the shelter of the tree. Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was born on December 10, 1830 in Amherst, Massachusetts on the family homestead ( Emily Dickinson ). Her mother and father were Emily and Edward Dickinson: she had a sister, Lavinia Dickinson, and a brother, William Austin Dickinson. Dickinson began attending Amherst Academy with her sister in 1840 and graduated in 1847. After graduating, she began Mount Holyoke Female Seminary in South Hadley. While she attended Mount Holyoke, she started a pattern that would continue through out her life (Brand 15). She would attach herself to an older man and confide in him. Sending frequent letters and poems was how she communicated with him; Dickinson referred to whoever this man was at the time in her life as master or preceptor . Benjamin Newton, one of her father s law students, visited the Dickinson home frequently. He and Dickinson met through this habit of his and he became her first master . Benjamin influenced Dickinson s writing greatly; he introduced her to Ralph Waldo Emerson and encouraged her to write. After only a year at Mount Holyoke, she left the school. The reasons for her departure have been never agreed upon. Dickinson slowly submerged herself in a life of seclusion after her school years communicating mostly through letters. The main vision behind designing ATM was integration of services and performance requirements of both telephony and data networking which was shortly called Broadband Integrated Service Vision (B ISDN). This cell relay protocol was designed by ATM forum and was universally adopted by ITU T. Usually the size of the fixed cells is about 53 bytes with 5 bytes for header and 48 bytes payload. In case the ATM becomes the backbone of the international communications the cost of implementing it should not be a major barrier. 4. The proposed system must ensure accurate and predictable delivery. This is possible only if ATM is a Connection Oriented system. 5. The major objective of ATM was to move most of the functionalities to the hardware side and have comparatively less functionalities in the software. This will ensure higher speed in the delivery of packets. It is clear from the above points that the major goal of ATM was to ensure guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS). Looking at the diagrams it kind of reminds me of M 14 carbine with a modern upgrade. Call me old fashion but I am not sold 100% on synthetic stocks for rifles, except of course the AR 15 platform. I will have to seek out a Ruger Scout Rifle and see what it is about. As far as the article this week it does not give any troubleshooting advice on the Ruger Scout, but does offer some solid advice on the disassembly of the rifle. The author is very adamant not to open then firing pin assembly as this is restricted to the factory. This is due to very powerful springs and the need to proprietary tools. It appears the biggest headache in disassembling the Scout is the forward mounting screw and lug. A very effective tool is the California Torque Wrench with a hex adapter, it is designed to be used with super tight screws. The action cannot be removed until these two screws are removed. Once the screws are removed the action can be slowly lifted to assure the barrel and receiver remain level. The magazine well and trigger guard as pushed downward to separate from the stock. In making this claim she uses certain evidence to make her point valid. In one of her pieces of evidence she uses states that, That a twelve year old trying to throw a curve ball, for example, may put abnormal strain on developing arm and shoulder muscles, sometimes resulting in lifelong injuries: (Statsky, 350). From this evidence Statsky is trying to make the claim that sports are hurting children and could put a risk on their bodies and the development of their bodies, if they put too much strain on themselves. Another piece of information Stasky uses says, The kids get so scared. They get hit once and they don t wont anything to do with football anymore. They ll sit on the bench and pretend their leg hurts (Stasky, 350). In the evidence that Stasky uses is good, but it is not very ordinary situations that occur. • 45. A Critical Analysis Of Zia Akhtar s Article Aboriginal... A treaty should not be seen as an alternative to constitutional recognition. Though, a reform of the constitution itself will only yield a partial resolution for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders due to its symbolic nature. A critical analysis of Zia Akhtar s article, Aboriginal Determination: Native Title Claims and Barriers to Recognition , will emphasise the importance of recognition and self determination to the Indigenous. This essay will explore the notions that reconciliation is more achievable through constitutional recognition and treaty together, that changes must be made to the Australian Constitution, particularly sections 25 and 51 (xxvi), and how the Native Title (Amendment) Act has hindered recognition and determination in a variety of ways. Constitutional recognition alone is not sufficient, as a preamble is tokenistic in nature. Thus, it is necessary that more tangible insertions be made to the body of the Constitution in addition to a preamble acknowledging Aboriginals. Akhtar s article emphasises a necessity for constitutional change by stating that constitutional guarantees should be introduced to provide Indigenous Australian s with enforceable rights that guarantee equality. Despite this, there is no suggestion by Akhtar to include both. The inclusion of both is vital, as although the preamble is symbolic and does not invoke physical change, it would be a formal acknowledgement of Aboriginals as the original inhabitants and custodians of the ... • 46. The Egyptian World Throughout the Egyptian world, embalmers worked to preserve the inner life force that was thought to reside within the body after death. It was common belief that by completing a seventy day process known as mummification, the Ka, this spiritual entity, would be able to live on long after the person died. Because of this, many people of the culture lived modest lives on Earth, saving immense amounts of money and gold for intricate objects that could serve practical and decorative purposes for their tombs. Every step of the preparations was handled with meticulous care as it was believed that life on Earth was limited, while life in the afterlife was eternal. This cultural ideology of eternal life after death is emulated by the statuary of the Egyptian world especially by the granite pair statue of Nefu and Khemet setju from Giza, which was found in 1931 on the Harvard University Museum of Fine Arts Expedition. During the Old Kingdom, artists worked to form statues that could accompany the body within the tomb, and if necessary, serve as alternative dwellings for the Ka.The pair statue, which was created between 2455 BC and 2350 BC in the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, was likely created for this reason. One can identify the gender of the figures by recognizing how Egyptian artists typically depicted males with darker skin than women. This common practice along with the residual red paint on the body of the figure at the right, allows one to conclude that the person on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Registered Retirement Savings Plan Taxation Assignment Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) Submitted By: Instructor: Date: What is an RRSP? A Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) is a tax deferred account designed specifically for retirement savings. Any resident of Canada under the age of 71 who has earned income may establish and contribute to an RRSP. (Edward Jones, 2013) RRSPs are the Canadian government s way of helping citizens save their money for retirement. Saving for 30 to 40 years of retirement may seem like a long task, but well planned contributions and withdrawals from your RRSP can be a great way to get enough money for when you retire. Objective The objective of a RRSP is to provide individuals with an account which they may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The maximum you can take out in one year is $10,000. You won t pay any tax on it as long as you pay it back over 10 years. This does not include paying for a child s education. My conclusion is that RRSPs benefit Canadians by reducing their taxes and allowing their savings to compound tax free. Individual RRSP s are the most common type of RRSP s. RRSP contributions are deducted from earned income before it is taxed, so the money that you put into an RRSP is not taxed until it is withdrawn. Taking money out of an RRSP account before retirement can be very expensive because withholding taxes often apply. The RRSP Home Buyer s Plan allows contributors to borrow RRSP funds to finance the purchase of a home. Also that it would be the best to start making contributions early to avoid early withdrawals.
