Who Was To Blame The Titanic Essay
In the year 1912 a ship named Titanic set out on her first voyage, but she never made it back. The
word was that this ship was unsinkable but that was proven wrong when she capsized along an
iceberg. The ship had many people aboard; some like Ruth Elizabeth Becker survived while
others died trapped in the water. Thousands of individuals believe that the Titanic sank due to the
large iceberg that it hit, but that s not the major factor in why so many lives were lost that day.
There were many contributors (most of them being human selfishness and faults). The ship had
many indications of failure before even hitting the ice. They were warned multiple times by
neighboring ships of possible danger, passengers reacted terribly in the chaos taking the every
man for themselves approach, pride, the lower class were not seen as equals and therefore not
prioritized, and the #1 cause made by crew and passengers alike is ignorance. The crew had been
warned about the icebergs in their path but would not slow down for the sake of an image. The
ship was barely filled with water when the people had been first notified of the hit, hundreds could
be saved with such a fast notice but instead they locked a whole class of people in with the water
too die. At one point... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these events could have been avoided if just one person on the ship would have just
stopped and told the caption that going forward in such conditions may mean they never make it
back. All in all, the Titanic was a true show of humanity s general disregard for anything but their
own livelihood and image when in a disaster. Yes, there were passengers who sacrificed their lives
for others and crew members who most likely felt uneasy after hearing the warnings from the
intercom; but there was also 1,503 lives lost that could ve been

Lennie Quotes From Of Mice And Men
Of Mice and Men
Lennie old Lennie the great old Lennie. Lennie wants to own a rabbit farm. But there are some
of Lennie traits that I believe will make it a little bit of a struggle for Lennie. The traits that will
hurt Lennie the most are he does not like to talk, he is mentally challenged, childish and playful,
also he is very strong. These traits will harm Lennie in the long run because rabbits are small
creatures and could be harmed if he is too rough.
Lennie will be hurt in his dream of running a rabbit farm by not talking very much will be a
challenge. An example is, We just come in. Said George Let the big guy talk. Said Curley
Lennie twisted his head in embarrassment. S pose he don t want to talk. said George. (Steinbeck
25). This quote is when they first get to the ranch and Curley is questioning George and Lennie.
Being quiet will hurt him because it will be hard for him to negotiate a deal for him to buy the
rabbits he wants. If he has no rabbits he will not be able to make any money and without money
he will not be able to live. It also will hurt him because he does not like to talk when he is selling

One example of his strength this, Behind him walked his opposite a huge man, shapeless face

the beginning of the book when they are describing Lennie. this will be helpful with the work on
the farm. Such as picking Alfalfa, making hay, and building shelters. On the contrary it will
probably hurt Lennie in the long run because being strong and working with little animals may not
be the best. Especially when Lennie doesn t know his own strength. He may end up killing or

The Importance Of Sustainability And Social Responsibility
Sustainability can be defined as a long and creative process which creates positive and lasting
results. Sustainability is a beneficial progress that consists of meeting people s needs without
conflicting the ability for future generations to meet their own needs. The change in resources will
enhance both current and future generations to meet human needs. Sustainability is an important
part that is presented in Ford s overall image. At Ford, sustainability is a business model that
involves long term conservation and enhances environmental, social and financial capital (
Sustainability Report , 2014). There are three main reasons that explain how Ford is improving the
importance of sustainability/social responsibility within their company compared to BMW. 2.1
Ford Named The Greenest Company On The planet Ford has a commitment to creating green
vehicles that will be beneficial towards the planet in the long run. Ford has incorporated many uses
continual activities throughout the company related to mas production, materials, and facilities
management. Ford s strategy will help protect the environment as a whole. Specifically, Ford is
trying to improve the fuel economy for their consumers. As a result, CO2 emissions will be reduced

the Vietnam War. After the 1970s, dramas about sports grew in popularity. Films began to

A Political Campaign Analysis
The political campaign environment in the United States changed in 2010 with the allowance of
unlimited independent expenditures by outside entities in elections. The courts decisions in
Citizens United and SpeechNow.org further increases Americans concerns regarding an undue
influence of money in politics. This, coupled with increasing polarization and congressional
gridlock in the U.S. House of Representatives, promotes skepticism of the political process.
Polarization and gridlock create perceptions that representatives do not represent the average voter
preferences but represent big moneyed interests (Briffault, 2011; Gilbert and Aiken, 2015) and
donors, who are more ideologically extreme than the average voter (Barber, 2014). Given... Show

Since the 1960s, the decline of moderate ideological voters has allowed more active, partisan
voters to determine election outcomes. This produces greater ideological conflict and stimulates a
further decrease in the level of voter turnout by ideological moderates (Rogowski, 2014;
Ansolabehere, et. al, 1994). Outside money that supports or opposes a particular partisan candidate
can increase the level of electoral conflict and promote a greater rallying effect around ideological
partisan leanings of particular candidacies. This diminishes the representation for the average
constituents, median voters, and ideological moderates. Diminishing representation of average
constituent interests in Congress also has a detrimental effect on political efficacy and willingness
to participate in electoral politics by average

Goventure Small Business Essay
For my project, I ran Coffee Roma, a coffee shop located in the business district of a large city. My
simulation ran for 60 days. Over this timeframe, I hired 7 employees and earned gross revenues of
$89,984.20. From those revenues, my net profit totaled $14,046.83. Below are the details of how I
attempted to best run my business. What adjustments did you make to try and improve
performance? The primary adjustments that I made to improve performance included proper
staffing procedures and inventory control procedures. With respect to staffing, I found that I
initially had trouble serving customers quickly enough during peak hours. Customers dissatisfied
with their queue times often left the store, resulting in lost sales.... Show more content on

I also undertook several other, less significant adjustments to try and improve performance. I
routinely invested in training for my employees when customer satisfaction levels were
dropping due to service related issues. Further, I occasionally invested in advertising and ran
sales to promote customer loyalty. I also closed my shop on the weekends, when I anticipated
that fewer potential customers would be in the area (due to the store s location in a business
district). Lastly, on the rare occasion that I was offered discounts by one of my suppliers, I
generally took advantage of that offer. Were these adjustments related to cost savings or
increasing revenue, or both? With respect to my staffing adjustments, those changes were aimed
at increasing revenue. Increasing customer satisfaction and the rate at which they were served
provided the coffee shop with increased revenues from more sales. My inventory control
procedures provided both increased revenues and cost savings. Quite simply, I ordered adequate
levels of products which were in high demand, I was able to better meet customers needs, and
my revenues increased. The cost savings I experienced as a result of my inventory control
procedures were a bit more complex. First, in establishing a routine schedule for ordering, I was
able to reap the benefits of lower shipping costs. Because I had a routine schedule, I could

Introduction
With a population of 1.357 billion (2013)3, China is the most populated country in the world. Along
with the huge population comes a market that is unmatched by any other country of the world.
Both domestic companies and foreign companies want to tap into this large market that just
recently embraced capitalism and entered into the World TradeOrganization.
China also provided a labor force that is able to tackle both white collar and blue collar job
positions. This made foreign companies rush both monetary and technological resources into China

The counterfeiting went on so that the Asian market s mass population can afford the things that
only the riches can without worrying too much about their expenses. With the technological
advances in multimedia and the Internet, China is seeing a flood of copyright infringements in
optical disk piracies, internet piracy, and other forms of piracy that didn t exist before the computer
and internet. I will address those technical piracies in China in this paper.
Optical disk piracy is the production of optical disks that contain intellectual property that can be
written and accessed from the disk. The copyright infringement of optical disk piracy is
affecting the music industry, the movie industry, and the software industry. Optical disk piracy
comes in the forms of CD, CD R, DVD, and VCD. The music industry in China has lost an
estimate of $600 million in revenues due to CD piracy, with the U.S. companies at $48 million.6
The pirated CDs either are counterfeited from the original CDs or a mix match of songs put
together by the violators. This is a huge crisis for the domestic music industry with them only
seeing a slight rise in revenue only in 2002.7 Next we have the CDs and CD Rs that are causing a
massive output of pirated software in China. There are licensed factories in China that actually
create these pirated software CDs along with genuine ones to be sold to the public with the
knowledge that they are violating the rights of the

The As And Ad Model Essay
The AS and AD Model
Aggregate Supply (AS): The total of goods and services produced in an economy at a given price
level (P), and period of time . The AS relation P=P^e (1+Ој)F (1 Y/AL,Z), explains the effects of
output on price level. A higher output results in an increase in price level hence the upward slope of
the AS Curve2. Aggregate Demand(AD): The total of goods and services demanded in an
economy at a given price level and period of time1. The AD relation Y=Y(M/P,G,T), captures the
effect of price level on output. A lower output leads to higher price level hence the downward
sloping AD curve2.
In the short run output can be below or above natural level, which is caused by shifts in AS or
AD. An economy is in expansion when the level of production (Y), is above the natural level
(Yn) due to increase in Investment, consumer or government spending. The short run equilibrium
is shown in graph 1, by intersection of the AS and AD curves at point A, where the labour, goods
and financial markets are all in equilibrium. Y and P give the equilibrium level of output and price
level, the positive gap between Y and Yn is called expansionary gap2.
Adjustment: From Short run to Medium run
Overtime the economy will experience adjustment, where Y moves towards Yn. Looking at graph
2, the short run equilibrium is at point A, where Y Yn and P Pe. Since P Pe wage setters will
increase their expectations of Pe in the future from Pe to Pe . This will shift the AS curve upward

In terms of surgical procedures, much of society refrains from using chloroform as an anesthetic
due to its life threatening effects on the human body and this chemical is not commonly used by
the average individual within society, so its absence will be barely noticed from the daily lives
of Americans. Yet, despite the fact that chloroform is an environmental hazard and is barely
used by the average individual, its is acknowledged that the chemical is also used as a reagent
and a solvent by factories in order to produce other chemicals. The hydrogen attached to carbon
within this organic compound allows it to participate in hydrogen bonding and serve as a solvent
for pesticides, fats, rubber, and oils. Next, chloroform also serves as a reagent (a compound added
to a system to cause a chemical reaction, that is not necessarily consumed throughout the reaction),
as it usually reacts with aqueous sodium hydroxide in order to produce the compound CCl2,
which can then be inserted into the bonds of other compounds to create new substances. As a
result, it can be noted that the economy, specifically the rubber and pesticide industries, will be
hindered for a short amount of time. It is only a short amount of time, as there are many
replacements available for chloroform that will result in the same or similar chemicals that
factories want to produce. These alternatives include the chemical dimethoxyethane, which can
replaced chloroform s role as a solvent due to its ability to mix in all proportions with a variety of
solutes, including water and ethanol, and ethyl acetate, which can replace chloroform s role as a
reagent to react with sodium hydroxide, as the reactivity of its elements are similar to the elements
found within chloroform. As such, many of the possible economical harms can be easily repaired
through the simple substitution of other chemicals that do not

Heart Of Darkness Analysis
In the novel Heart of Darkness, the characters who spend time in the heart of the jungle in the
Congo, seem to change as time passes by. One of the men who is most dramatically affected from
this change is Mr. Kurtz. This relates to what Pauline Hopkins once said in Contending Forces,
And, after all, our surroundings influence our lives and characters as much as fate, destiny or any
supernatural agency. Mr. Kurtzgoes from a man with a loving fiance and great attributes to man
with no morals and the need for power. Mr. Kurtz was once a man with morals, but once he
because a victim of the overwhelming power he had in the jungle, he abandoned the person he
once was. He originally believed he could bring light to the Congo, which was shown with his
painting of the woman, Then I noticed a small sketch in oils... representing a woman, draped and
blindfolded, carrying a lighted torch. The background was somber almost black. 21 22 This
shows how he uses the torch to show how Kurtz is trying to bring light into the the jungle where
only darkness is found. Despite this act, Kurtz soon changes his view of light and dark, his
actions become sinister and his main worry becomes the obtainment of ivory and power over the
Company. Kurtz becomes a God in the natives eyes and he uses this to his advantage. They hold

The Feminine Mystique And Shooting An Elephant
Both The Feminine Mystique and Shooting an Elephant discuss the confrontation between the self
and society. In The Feminine Mystique, Betty Friedan addresses The Problem That Has No Name
referring to the widespread unhappiness of the housewife due to their obligation to uphold their
ideal image rather than pursuing their dreams; in Shooting an Elephant, George Orwellcomments on
the societal expectations of imperialism and its effects on people who have the duty to uphold the
law. In both of these texts, the confliction between societal norms and personal desires is
emphasized, and both Friedan and Orwell agree that one must surpass the fear of breaking society
s expectations and use personal wisdom to achieve what one believes is right.
In The Feminine Mystique, Friedan defines The Problem That Has No Name to be the
dissatisfaction and longing in suburban housewives which was not caused by a lack of
femininity but an excess of education and awareness. Society defined the suburban housewife as
the dream image of the young American woman and the envy...of women all over the world
(Friedan 60). Women were expected to make a career out of being housewives, which Friedan
found to be ridiculous. Women should not be confined to the home when they have the same
capabilities as men. By failing to speak out, these women allowed this idea of the ideal housewife
to become engraved into every American s mind, and this image of the ideal housewife did not
benefit women at all

The Role Of Recording Industry Association Of America Essay
The Role of the RIAA in Protecting Intellectual Copyright
This paper examines the role of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in
protecting the intellectual copyright of recordings from illegal downloading, which continues to
be a major problem for the recording industry despite repeated efforts to stop this practice by
consumers. This role of the RIAA relates to the business and economic aspects of the recording
industry and illegal downloads from online platforms. The RIAA s role in addressing illegal
downloading has involved lobbying governments for enforcement of copyrights, litigation against
private parties (individuals and organizations), engaged in illegal downloads, and marketing
campaigns encouraging customers to refrain from engaging in illegal downloads. The paper begins
with a background on how the technological developments led to the problem of illegal downloads
before examining the role of the RIAA in curbing this practice. The analysis then concludes with the
finding that the RIAA has been deficient in curbing this practice, resulting in significant losses in
sales, revenues, and profits for the recording industry.
History of Illegal Downloads
The problem of illegal downloading in the recording industry was a result of specific technological
developments. It was the development of MP3 file formats for digital audio recordings, which first
emerged in the early 1990s, but did not become a significant copyright threat to the recording
industry

Generic Biologics As A Tool For Evaluating The Safety And...
1.Background/Statement Of Problem: Generic biologics (otherwise referred to as biosimilars or
follow on biologics), are described by the FDA as biological products that are highly similar to
already approved biological products, notwithstanding minor differences in clinically interactive
components and for which there are no clinically meaningful differences between the biosimilar
and the approved biological products in terms of safety, purity and potency [4]. Biosimilars are
copies of approved biologics, whose patent protection has ended and are analogous to a generic
version of a chemically derived drug. Generic biologics are however more complicated to
develop than a generic version of a chemically derived drug owing to their complex structure and
inherent variability [3]. The assessment of bioequivalence as a tool for evaluating the safety and
efficacy is based on the fundamental Bioequivalence Assumption that if two drug products are
shown to be bioequivalent in average bioavailability, it is assumed they will reach the same
therapeutic effect and be used interchangeably [1]. However, characterizing generic versions of
small molecules drugs is considerably easier than characterizing biologic drugs due to several key
characteristics [3], based on the fact that characteristics of biologics are influenced by: choice of
source materials (cell line), production process, purification process and the final pharmaceutical
formulation. Differences in

The Pros And Cons Of The California Water Project
6.The California Water Project takes water from northern California to the south through various
means. The two sides have disagreements on how the water should be used. Northern Californians
argue that if they sent more water to the south, they would waste it, resulting in the Sacramento
River being degraded. However, southern Californians still want more water, because they feel
that their growing populations and agricultural needs require the water. The Aral Sea was the
world s fourth largest freshwater lake in 1960. Since then, there has been a water transfer project
using mainly a canal that sends water to numerous locations across Asia. It is now almost dry
because of our use. Some ways it has been effected include: it s lost 72 feet of height, 89% of its
volume, and has been split in half. Also, its salinity increased sevenfold while toxicity increased
(resulting in contaminated drinking water and health issues). Recovery efforts soon began in 1999,
and with the contribution of 600 million dollars from the UN and the World Bank. Surrounding
countries also worked hard, and now the situation, though still progressing toward the worse, is
more or less stable. China s South North Water Transfer Project mostly involves three large
channels. This project is very expensive, but provides water to the water needy huge population of
northern China. There are critics, although there are scientists that believe the potential economic,

Grey s Anatomy Poetry Analysis
Grey s Anatomy is a popular drama doctor show to this day. They had a music event episode
where everyone sang and they had two songs that display the symbolic cycle. Both pieces
compliment each other because of their similarities in the symbolic cycle, birth and death. The
visual display of the songs fit together because of the setting and how the music itself develops
throughout each song. These songs were chosen to be in Grey s Anatomybecause they illustrate real
life of losing someone and being blind to someone s pain they try to hide. In How to Save a Life
and The Story the composers develop the theme of life and death.

The reason Torres is performing this song is because she is in a coma and essentially her spirit
is singing to herself to make own self wake up from her coma. In the beginning since she is in a
coma, it represents death as she is at the end of the symbolic cycle, death. She starts by saying So
many stories of where I ve been which shows she has experience of life and she is at the west
side where she is an adult knowing everything. As Torres is singing, she is walking through the
hospital as she gets closer to willing herself to wake up. One of the reasons was her girlfriend,
Arizona Robbins, who loves her and she has her child Sofia to fight for. Her child, Sofia,
represents life and birth as she beings her symbolic cycle. Most of this song is about being
experienced as Torres says she has climbed mountain tops and swam all across the ocean blue
and by her saying this, she is motivating herself to wake up and be strong for everyone. Also she
talks about how everyone around her is ignorant. And all of my friends who think that I m
blessed, they don t know my head is a mess. No they don t know who I really am . This quote
from the song proves her point how no one realizes how much she has been struggling in her life
and how she has had that pain of experience and depression from everyone. The song starts the
same as How to Save a Life with a calm and softer beginning. As

Use Of Chemical Weapons In Chemical Warfare
The first actual use of a chemical weapon was in August 1914. The French utilized tear gas
grenades during an attack against the Germans. One of the more known use of a chemical weapon
was at the Second Battle of Ypres in April 1915. 160 tonnes of chlorine gas was released onto the
French and Algerian troops. This could be considered the starting point in chemical warfareas it was
the first large scale deployment of a chemical gas meant for harm. As more and more chemical
weapons were developed, more and more countries followed the trend.
The use of chlorine gas in trench warfare was first developed by Fritz Haber in 1914 as of help to
the German army. At the Second Battle of Ypres, about 6,000 cylinders filled with about 160
tonnes of chlorine gas were opened and the gas made its way over to the French and Algerian
lines. At first, the French thought it was a smoke screen and that the Germans were advancing
towards them, but they were wrong. It was chlorine gas which would damage their respiratory
organs and cause violent choking attacks. Back on the German lines, barely anybody expected
this assault to be so successful and were not prepared to advance onto the French and Algerian
lines while their troops were amidst panic and fear caused by the chlorine gas. Despite their
unpreparedness, the Germans still advanced, but with a lack of self assurance and confidence.
Before this attack, Fritz Haber was not supported very much, but seeing as how

Use of Qualitative and Quantitative Research
Part 1 All research activities begin with a question. Research, in its most basic form is the process
of answering that question, or questions. Academic research, though, is a systematic process of
collecting and analyzing information so that it increases the understanding of the phenomenon
under study (Holton Burnett, 2005). Regardless of the complexity or nature of the researchproject,
there are at least eight characteristics that help define the process: 1) Research originates with a
question or a problem; 2) Research requires a clear articulation of a goal; 3) Research follows a
specific plan of procedure; 4) Research usually divides the principal problem into more
manageable sub problems; 5) Research is guided by the specific research problem, question, or
hypothesis;6) Research accepts certain critical assumptions. These assumptions are underlying
theories or ideas about how the world works; 7) Research requires the collection and
interpretation of data in attempting to resolve the problem that initiated the research (Leedy
Ormrod, 2009). While requirements of research may vary between disciplines, and some may
prefer qualitative or quantitative methodologies, multidisciplinary research within the medical
field should follow at least six basic guidelines in order to be robust: 1) Contribute to theoretical
development; 2) Be based on empirical data, on observation of some element of pedagogy; 3) Be
cumulative, build on previous research; 4) Be objective; 5)

Heresy In The Middle Ages
In twelfth century Sicily, an illustrated manuscript of the Byzantine Synopsis of Histories was
produced. Within this copy of John Skylitzes depiction of events (811 1157) are 500 plus
miniatures. One is the massacre of Paulician heretics in 843/844 (figure 1). Although this depiction
is not wholly historically accurate, it does exemplify the Christian stance on heresyin the Middle
Ages. Harsh treatment was occasionally necessary, to those who promoted Lucifer s teachings.
Hereby heresy was seen as a major threat to Christ s Church and His people. Nevertheless, as will
be shown, whatever means were put into practice by the Church failed since beliefs held at the
beginning of the Middle Ages were still evident in the fifteenth century. Regarding... Show more

On one level this was theological. Exemplifying this was Henry of Lausanne, a twelfth century
French heresiarch. Weaved throughout his preaching, was a Pelagian stance on original sin.
Hereby man was not tainted by the Fall, so only fell through his own actions. From this, Henry
concluded there was no need for the sacraments. Subsequently orthodox salvation was attacked,
arguably showing the Church was controlling the people. Moreover some taught the complete
removal of the clergy. Thus anarchy would ensue as services, tithing and Rome s supremacy
would be scrapped. Moreover since this Henrician stance was widespread, validated by the Free
Spirit movement later and Messalianism earlier, heresy as a whole in this period can be seen as
a major threat. Indeed the Church was also under attack regarding their secular influence too. The
Twelve Confessions of the Lollards proves so. Within this manifesto is the declaration, he that
hath taken him to the one (a temporal or a spiritual office) should not meddle ... with the other .
Therefore, a desire for division between the two existed, reducing the Church s political influence.
This was not necessarily a widespread belief among Lollards though, as its author John Purvey
represented Lollardy s greatest minds. Nevertheless this was the face the world saw (as it was sent
to Parliament) and even if a minority, was a threatening one. Furthermore, since heretics theology
was applied practically, they were incredibly threatening. The Waldensian preachers, who after the
Third Lateran Council disobeyed Pope Alexander III and continued preaching, prove so.
Subsequently Moore is justified when he proclaims that heresy attempted to subvert the Christian
order and bring ... chaos , since through their actions, the clergy were attacked. Yet Moore was
wrong to see the issue as beyond doctrinal disputes and Church made. Heterodox beliefs

Corresponding Themes in Frankenstein and Blade Runner
Ridley Scott s film Blade Runner reflects some of the key themes seen in Mary Shelley s classic
novel Frankenstein. For one, both the sources touch on the necessity of creators taking
responsibility for their creations. Another key theme established in both works is the idea that
emotional complexity and knowledge, over memory and appearance, allow people to be defined as
human beings.
Throughout the novel Frankenstein, author Mary Shelley builds upon the theme that one must take
responsibility for the actions and well being of their creations. Protagonist Victor Frankenstein
consistently toils with the degree of responsibility he owes to the monster he created. Initially,
Frankenstein completely abandons his creation, as the creature notes when he says, Yet you, my
creator, detest and spurn me, thy creature... (Shelley 83). When the monster pleads for a female
counterpart, Victor says, I refused, and I did right in refusing, to create a companion... He showed
unparalleled malignity and selfishness in evil; he destroyed my friends... (Shelley 200). Victor
fails to sympathize with his creation and fails to understand that all creatures desire something
from their creator. A parallel theme of the disasters that occur when a creator doesn t take
responsibility for its creations can be found in the 1982 film Blade Runner. In this film, Eldon
Tyrell, the creator of the rogue Replicants, takes absolutely no responsibility for the danger he has
created when he relegates the job of

The Characteristics Of Doctor Faustus As A Renaissance Text
1719963
EN6001 Renaissance
When answering the question of whether Doctor Faustus can be classified as a Renaissance text we
must first find out what the Renaissance is how we define the artistic and scholastic pursuits that
come from this age. We know that Renaissance just means to be reborn or rebirth. The dictionary
definition of the Renaissance age is the revival of European art and literature under the influence of
classical models in the 14th 16th centuries. The period before the Renaissance is known as the
Dark or Middle ages. It is known for a decline in the arts and the pursuit of such things. The
Renaissance wasn t only known for a growth in arts but also in the pursuit of knowledge. This was
a rebirth of man questioning his identity and his place in the universe. During this period there was
an explosion in science and discovering not only how the world works but how to make the
world easier for us. This only drove some to question more though man and his place in society.
Many people believed that if science went too far, if man tried to know too much or things he
should not dabble in then it was going to be the fall of us from grace. While others thought that
science had nothing to do with religion or God and that in fact it was our right as humans to try
and learn more and grow as a race. Due to this and the resurgence of religion during this period
there was much tension between people and their ideas. There was much call for reform from both
sides, some

Paraffin wax (or simply paraffin , but see alternative name for kerosene, above) is mostly found
as a white, odorless, tasteless, waxy solid, with a typical melting point between about 47 В°C
and 64 В°C ( 117В°F to 147В°F), and having a density of around 0.9 g/cm. It is insoluble in
water, but soluble in ether, benzene, and certain esters. Paraffin is unaffected by most common
chemical reagents, but burns readily. Pure paraffin wax is an excellent electrical insulator, with
an electrical resistivity of between 10 and 10 ohm metre. This is better than nearly all other
materials except some plastics (notably teflon). It is an effective neutron moderator and was
used in James Chadwick s 1932 experiments to identify the neutron. Paraffin wax (C25H52) is an

Demetrius And Helena In A Midsummer Night s Dream By...
In A Midsummer Night s Dream, William Shakespeare heavily expresses the distinct characteristics
of Demetrius and Helena through the direct and indirect characterizations that affect them in the
play.
Demetrius character is best emphasized, directly and indirectly, through the dialogue and actions of
himself and those around him. In Act One, Scene One, after Egeus explains to King Theseus that
he wants his daughter, Hermia, to marry Demetrius instead of Lysander, Demetrius demands that
Lysander relinquish his love and control over Hermia because marrying her is his certain right .

Helena is first introduced storming past Hermia and Lysander, being quick to accuse Hermia of
stealing Demetrius love from her. Helena s lengthy response, use of exclamations, sarcastic and
whiney tone, and admitted jealousy, portray her perfectly. In fact, the audience better comes to
understand the character in her following monologue containing phrases such as: ...how happy
some o er other some can be! Through Athens I am thought to be as fair as she ; ...he hailed
down oaths that he was only mine... heat from Hermia...dissolved, and showers of oaths did
melt ; I will go tell him of fair Hermia s flight...if I have thanks, it is a dear expense. This shows
that Helena isn t just a jealous friend, but a hurt girl with low self esteem; she is desperate to
have love and happiness again to extent of giving Demetrius what he wants at the expense of
her friends wellbeing. Despite the late hours, dangers of the night, and Demetrius annoyance
with her, Hermia expresses her desperation and relentless love for him by proclaiming ...you
[Demetrius] draw me, you hard hearted adamant , I love you the more , and ... spurn me, strike
me...only give me leave... to follow you . Humorously enough, even when Demetrius does not
grant Helena permission, she still devotedly follows him. Due to the constant flow of insults and
abuses from Demetrius, Helena s character is pushed to the point where she wallows in self pity
and despair as well as further compare her darker, less attractive complexion to Hermia s. When
Lysander awakens under a love spell and professes his undying love for her, she runs away in
distress believing he is implementing a cruel joke on her. When Demetrius follows in the same
love struck manner, she becomes exasperated and falls further into her self pity. Helena s tone even

A Study On Female Entrepreneurs
Chapter 1 Introduction
The main aim of this study is to explore how female entrepreneurs have managed to open new
ventures and also coping with the entrepreneurial system in the UK. Initially, women want to be
part of the entrepreneurship activities and studies shows that the rate of women entrepreneurs is
increasing (Brush et al, 2006). Gender discrimination is no longer a taboo in this twentieth century
(Butler, 2003).
1.1Research background
In today s business world, entrepreneurship is fundamental for the whole society and businesses
(Blundel and Lockett, 2011). There is a considerable interest in entrepreneurial activity worldwide
including the United Kingdom. Between 2010 and the start of 2015, UK experienced up to 36%

This was 19% higher than the same period in 2008, compared with growth of only 4% in the
number of self employed men (Kelley, 2012) However, this is due to women achieving in
education extraordinarily over the last few decades. Women constantly overtake men in terms of
college enrolment and receive 50% more master s degrees than men do. Among the youngest
workers, those eighteen to thirty two, female are now far more likely to obtain a bachelor s
degrees than male (Robb et al, 2014).
1.3Economic growth
The Global Entrepreneurship (GEM), 2011 reports a significant increase in the number of
entrepreneurship in 54 countries, creating positive expectations and development for the future.
Therefore, it is a must to make additional research as the scope and involvement of Female
Entrepreneurship as a societal and economical phenomenon is certain. Women entrepreneurship is
as important for the economy of the country in addition to innovation economic growth, job
creation and renewal through diversity (Ahl, 2006) However, in the UK, an additional 150,000
businesses would be created if rates of women s business ownership equalled those of men and an
additional 900,000 if UK rates equaled those in the US (Verheul et al, 2006).
1.4 Project aim and objectives

Thanksgiving Day dinner is a time for family celebration, but also a time for discussion, which

Jenny are having this argument, it s hard to determine a clear winner because the morality of
international trade and outsourcing is complex and often times inconclusive. There are great
benefits and costs to society and this topic needs to be looked at through all lenses. One of the
more heated debates regarding free tradeis sweatshops. I would generally define sweatshops as a
business that due to lack of respect, places employees in hazardous and unhealthy conditions for

Business are constantly compelled to cut costs, increase revenues, and overall increase the value
and profit of the company. Relocating production sites to non industrialized regions proves to be
cost effective for these companies due to the significantly lower labor costs, the ability to better
transport products to global markets, and the considerable lack of labor laws compared to the
United States. This drastic cut of expenses makes it much easier for businesses to charge less for
their products due to the large profit margin. Furthermore, some of these underdeveloped nations
need more jobs coming into the country to help boost their economy. Although international
workers are being paid significantly less than Americans, their jobs in these sweatshops provide
a steady income for their families. For instance, in Honduras the average sweatshop worker earns
about $13 a day whereas agricultural farmers live off of $2 per day (The World Counts, 2018).

Lady Macbeth s Sleepwalking Essay
Lady Macbeth s sleepwalking scene from Act V, Scene I was interpreted very well from both
Artus Scheiner s painting and Michael Lynch s stage adaptation. Lynch s stage adaptation of the
play provides a great sense of connection with Lady Macbeth. The dimmed lights and the darkened
stage gave the scene such an intense and eerie feeling. Scheiner s painting presents Lady Macbethas
scary with her long black hair that covers most of her face and her mouth wide open. Her being

Shakespeare is telling us that Lady Macbeth still sees blood on her hands from her involvement
in the murder. Shakespeare wants the audience to see that Lady Macbeth s actions led her to
guilty sleepwalking and rubbing her hands to wash the bloody spots away. In this scene,
Shakespeare s decision to make Lady Macbeth sleepwalk makes her look like she subconsciously

Constructionism And Intersectionality
From a social constructionism perspective, the meanings and definitions of race are created through
categorizing groups of people from a cultural context.
As stated by Bowleg (2012), the term women and minorities are ubiquitously wedded in public
health discourse, policy and research which fails to consider the intersection of these two
categories whereas a woman can be both a minority as well as a female. By combining two aspects
that each experience discrimination and oppression in their own rights individuals which share 1 or
more are often marginalized further. The term intersectionality refers to the concept of
acknowledging multiple aspects of individuals identities that may overlap or intersect. Gender, race,
sexuality and class are all mutually exclusive aspects of humanity which can be categorized into
groups; membership to one or more of these groups can intersect within the same individual. For
example, a high income, homosexual, Hispanic male describes his intersectionality.

Reform Movements in the United States Sought to Expand...
As Americans entered an era of transition and instability, they sought to expand democratic ideals
in the society. In response to sudden changes occurring and traditional values being challenged,
various reform movements during 1825 1850 began to focus on democratic ideals. The rise of
religious revivals, movements for equal rights and protecting liberties of different social groups,
want to advance society technologically, and desire to bring order and control helped reform the
society to live up to the nation s founding ideals. Teaching them (I don t get who them is) the habits
of thrift, orderliness, temperance and industry was a way to not only better their lives but a way to

The Transcendentalist movement, founded by Ralph Waldo Emerson was populated by his
essay Nature, as well as other works such as Henry David Thoreau s Nature. The increasing
quality and affordability of such books as well as newspapers, with new perspectives and
philosophies printed by new machines, allowed the common people access to new knowledge.
Society was now exposed to knowledge such as: philosophy, current events, and political
information which brought up the level of education of the common man. Not only were books
made cheaper and more available, an abundance of higher quality goods and services such as
better foods, clothes, and a better transportation system now became available to the society. As
Horace Greenley of the New York Tribune accounts: We have universalized all the beautiful and
glorious results of industry and skill... We have made them a common possession of the people....
We have democratized the means and appliances of a higher life (Art and Industry 58). Greenley
is saying that the Progress of the Age has brought high quality goods previously only for aristocrats
down to the common people, raising the living standard of the common people: a true democratic
value. Out of all these technological breakthroughs, the railroad became the symbol of the Progress
of the Age and the expansion of democratic ideals. Even artists of the Hudson

The Necessity Of Cell Phone
Cell phones , when many people hear these words, they think of a talking device, right? Well,
they re right to a certain degree, however, a cell phone is so much more than just that and they
don t even realize it. Instead of thinking of a phone as a type of device, people everywhere
should realize what it really is, a necessity. A necessity is something that people have to have in
an everyday life. In today s society, cell phones are used every single day, all around the world.
They have became a very important aspect in lives, and to make it throughout each day, citizens
have to have a cell phone. Phones are used for school, work, money, safety, and so much more.
Cell phones make things quick and they re convenient. A cell phone is definitely a have to have
in life today. They are used for essentially everything. It s remarkably more than just a phone, it s
a protection, communication, and an entertainment device all in one. The world is a scary
place, for both a tennager and a parent. For a parent, never knowing when an accident might
happen or where their child is at causes a lot of stress, and for a young teenager just being alone
is intimidating enough. How are people supposed to stay safe? Having a cell phone fixes those
problems and fears. People don t have to be worried or scared because, with a phone there is
always protection. There is access to 911, even in places that there is no service. Also, not knowing
directions can be very stressful a young teenager and

Benjamin Carson Research Paper
Benjamin Carson, born on September 18, 1951 is a world renowned neurosurgeon from Detroit,
Michigan. Growing up Carson lived in the projects of Detroit, making it hard for any young boy
to make a good life for himself. At the age of eight his parents divorced due to his father having an
affair. Ben and his older brother, Curtis, would solely be raised by their motherfrom then on. Their
mother would sometimes work three jobs at a time to try and make ends meet for her two boys.
The boys would even go to the local farmer and help pick crops in exchange for them to have

quoted saying, I m not a politician, I don t want to be a politician because politicians do what is
politically expedient. I want to do what is right (Biography). During his campaign, the media
started questioning some of his early life. They did not believe he was awarded a full scholarship
to Yale, nor did they believe that he was violent when he was younger. CNN then conducted a
report talking to his neighbors and some of his old school teachers. (Biography). Carson was very
popular in the beginning of his campaign trail, but slowly started to lose voters. He then decided to
drop out of the presidential race. Carson would later endorse Donald J. Trump, and would be one of
his loyal supporters in the presidential race. When trump won the presidential election he
announced Ben Carson as his secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Trump later said in a statement, Ben Carson has a brilliant mind and is passionate about

For example Amazon s Kindle e readers and tablets. Amazon busted into this market with an

Write An Essay On Rabies Virus
A virus by definition is any member of a unique class of infectious agents . . . that consists of
genetic material, which may be either DNA or RNA, and is surrounded by a protein coat and, in
some viruses, by a membrane envelope ( virus ). Such agents are unable to produce the necessary
nutrients to survive because they do not possess the biochemical mechanisms or organelles to
synthesize necessary elements. As a result, they feed off a living host cell by attaching to the cell s
docking proteins and injects its virusthrough the membrane. However, the cycle of a virus is more
complex than it may seem. There are eight main steps that occur in a basic virus: attachment,
penetration, uncoating, targeting, geneexpression, genome replication, virion assembly, and the
release of the new infectious virus. During attachment, the virus s attachment proteins dock on
specific receptors found on the outer membrane of certain target cells. In order for this process to
occur, the attachment proteins must bind with a certain receptor for that specific virus. For
example, the rabies virus has glycoprotein attachment molecules that bind with acetylcholine
receptors on neurons. The virus then penetrates the cell and injects its nucleic acid from the capsid,
the proteinshell that protects the virus, through either... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The most major advantages for Blog are the ease of use and the availability of many free open
source or low cost software and hosting options to return to them. It s also acceptable to discuss
topics or ideas that are not fully developed yet. The temporal nature of blogging makes it easier to
write a brief introduction with a promise to deliver more later on. The most censorable of
disadvantage is Blogs are sometimes prone to vandalism. The serious quality issues, because their

YouTube is simply a platform for public to share their videos on the web. Internet browsers can

Pros and Cons
The major advantages of YouTube are easy to use and it is for everyone for free. Also,
expressing the creativity through YouTube is a major benefit. People can easily get access from
Internet and broadcast video around the world. However, YouTube s biggest downside is the web
is open for everyone with strict limitations. Anyone can see and post videos. Therefore, there could

also worth noting that the food was purchased for a creditable purpose, which was to give
customers something to eat whilst waiting for their appointment and also that it is free of charge
meaning that he isn t trying to earn revenue through selling these goods. Although both Sergio

they originally purchased the goods it would ve came GST free. If it indeed includes GST, they can

Here the employee s portion is deductible however the Client s portion is not deductible.
However, with regards to the clients portion we can look into Div 111 which talks about the
reimbursement of expenses, and in this case the food purchased for the clients. This however
delves into Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), so how does this link to GST? There is rule where you
can claim GST credits for the cost of providing entertainment that is a fringe benefit so this is an
option for Sergio. But the amount he can claim back is dependent on how many clients he went out
with, or if we were given information about how much Sergio spent on himself we ll be able to
determine the amount of the deduction.
d)When dealing with lending money the term financial supplies comes up, it can be defined as
input taxed sales that do not have GST in their price. Here Sergio lends money to clients who are
having issues whilst charging an interest. However, interest expenses don t have the ability to
claim GST as stated before it is classified as input taxed sales and hence will be GST free.

Heredity and Hormones Effect on Behavior Essay
Human behavior has been a mystery to scientists and psychologists for years. What causes humans
to act the way they do? Is it learned by experience, or inherited from prior generations? The human
brain is a complex machine driven by numerous intangibles that influence our thinking process
directly and indirectly.
The endocrine system in the human body stores a chemical known as hormones. Hormones are
released by endocrine glands into the bloodstream and travel throughout the body carrying
messages. A hormonal impulse is similar to a nerve impulse only much slower. The messages
carried by the hormones trigger different behaviors. Hormones can affect behavior in many ways
such as: Mental activity or tiredness, boredom or excitement, sexual ... Show more content on

Both glands produce two distinct hormones, but produce differing amounts of each hormone.
Masculine hormones such as androgens and testosterone are predominately produced by male
testes. These hormones at high levels can be related to aggressive behavior regardless of sex, but
high levels are most commonly found in males. High levels of feminine hormones or estrogen,
most commonly found in females, have recently been linked to aggressive behavior as well. While
high levels of estrogen in females and high levels of testosterone in males have been linked to
aggressive behavior, normal levels of these hormones have been known to cause aggression as well.
Although these hormones have been related to human behavior, scientists have concluded that
these hormones alone do not dictate behavior (Morris Maisto, 2005).
Adrenal glands, located near the kidneys, secrete several hormones that are activated by the nervous
system. These hormones dictate the body s reaction to stressful situations. Each person secretes a
different amount of hormones, therefore affecting behavior in stressful situations differently
(Morris Maisto, 2005).
Behavior is party affected by human hormones present in the body built from genetic traits inherited
from the individual s parents. The genetic makeup of an individual combined with a certain
environment, can affect behavior. Genetics is the science of analyzing traits inherited through
generations. These traits are determined by genes that

In recent years, board members and staff of the Midsouth Chamber of Commerce (MSCC) have
been trying to update their information system. Their information has steadily required more
capabilities and in pursuit of better more efficient capabilities they have made several missteps that
have cost them a very large sum of money. They have had personnel acquire information systems
that did not meet the requirements of MSCC. The cost of these nonfunctioning systems has been in
excess of $277,000.00 dollars. MSCC is now on their third person to manage the acquisition of an

The Chamber has made numerous mistakes over the several months following Unitrak s installation
and implementation. Among them:
Failure of MSCC to take care of personnel. Kovecki was not as skilled as he could have been, he
was the only person within the MSCC who knew the Unitrak system. On top of that, he was the
only person who could keep it running and bringing in money to MSCC. Management should have
taken more interest in Kovecki s desire to run the computer operations. If they had, MSCC
management would never have hired Gramen. This probably would have limited the severity of
this situation and may have avoided it entirely.
The hiring Dick Gramen was a huge mistake. Gramen did not have the skills required to be in this
position. He came from a different computing environment (Macintosh), also he had no experience
on the systems in use at the MSCC. He never had had any prior contact with Unitrak or with any
trade associations.
MSCC had the mindset of we don t look outside our cave. This was clearly eveidenced when
Unitrak s developers found themselves in financial trouble. MSCC should have begun looking at
their options because they were already having problems with UNITRAK. Management should
never wait until problems arise to have a contingency plan in place. Unitrak was a bad choice for
information system, but not planning ahead is even worse perhaps inexcuseable. Also, MSCC did

Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince
Machiavelli wrote The Prince in 16th century. His methods of acquiring and maintaining rule over
people are not relevant in today s modern American society. There are many principles that are still
true in politics today, but the methods of ruling can no longer be used in American society today.
NiccolГІ Machiavelli was born in Florence, Italy in 1496. He was a diplomat in Italy s Florentine
Republic for fourteen years. This was during the Medici family exile, and when they returned,
Machiavelli was dismissed and shortly imprisoned. After he was released, he wrote The Prince. It
was written as a handbook for politicians to follow and is considered the most famous book on
politics ever written. Machiavelli is known as the father of modern political theory. He died in
1527 in Florence, Italy.
In The Prince, Machiavelli describes the different methods of acquiring the power over a state. The
first he mentions is if the principalities are acquired through one s own arms and virtue. They
acquire their principality with difficulty but hold it with ease. (23) The second, Of New
Principalities That Are Acquired by Others Arms and Fortune. (25) Someone gives these to the
prince either for money or by the favor of whoever gave it. Those who become princes from private
individual solely by fortune become so with little trouble, but maintain themselves with much. (25)

Sweetness And Power Summary
Sugar currently is the leading cause of obesity in both adults and children. How did sugar become
such a necessity that people are damaging themselves just because they want something sweet?
Sugar is also the cheapest calorie a person can buy; sugary food has become the cheapest food
item in many stores, but it wasn t always this way. Sugarwas once a costly foreign import, yet when
Europeans developed a taste and preference for sugar, there was no stopping Europes need to
have sugar. In Sweetness and Power, the author, Sidney W. Mintz discusses how sugar was first
introduced in Europe and its evolution from a luxury to an everyday necessity. Sugar was first

At this time, sugar is still a luxury, medicine, and spice in western Europe, (Mintz 83) yet it is
beginning to become more popular. This insertion of an essentially new product within popular
European tastes and preferences was irreversible, though the cost of sugar at times certainly
brake consumption (Mintz 38). Once europeans developed a preference for sugar, they started to
move away from sugar being a medicine and spice to sugar becoming a food. The rise in demand
for sugar followed Britain s increase in sugar supply. In 1660 Englishmen consumed 1,000
hogheads and exported 2,000 hogheads, in 1700 Englishmen now consumed 50,000 hogheads and
exported 18,000 hogheads, in 1730 Englishmen now consumed 100,000 hogheads and exported
18,000 hogheads, and in 1753 Englishmen consumed 110,000 hogheads and exported 6,000
hogheads (Mintz 39). These dramatically increasing numbers in consumption demonstrates
England s dependence on sugar. Although sugar was originally a luxury only available to the
elite wealthy households, as sugar production and industrialization became more refined, the
pieces fro sugar dropped and spread into the other classes. Sugar was used to make new desserts
and sweets as well as used in ceremonies and religious events. Sugar spread all the way to the
lower class as it became cheaper and more popular. Sugar consumption as

The Crimes Of The Criminal Justice System
When it comes being committed using technology, there are different types of crimes that can be
committed. These crimes have been traditionally defined as either computer crimes or cybercrimes.
The distinction in the two types of crimes seems to focus primarily on whether the crime can be
committed without the use of technology and if the computer itself was actively involved with the
crime. However, both types have created issues with the criminal justicesystem with how criminals
are committing their crimes, the difficulties in law enforcement performing their duties, and the
increased pool or potential targets and victims. Cybercrime is defined as any crime that involves
computers and networks, including crimes that do not rely heavily on computers (Choi, 3).
Cybercrime also consists of crimes that are illegal when committed without the use of technology
(Choi, 3). These types of crimes range from cyberbullying, exploitation of children, and online
harassment (Moore, 4). The types of crimes can be committed without the use of technology, but
have become more prevalent due to how more easy the crimes are to commit with the use of
technology. Child exploitation is a prime example as it is growing at a fast rate due to the
opportunities online. Child exploitation is a growing issue online as there are numerous avenues
that offenders can use to meet their perverse needs. There is the traditional avenue of sharing child
exploitation material through email or P2P

  • 2. Who Was To Blame The Titanic Essay In the year 1912 a ship named Titanic set out on her first voyage, but she never made it back. The word was that this ship was unsinkable but that was proven wrong when she capsized along an iceberg. The ship had many people aboard; some like Ruth Elizabeth Becker survived while others died trapped in the water. Thousands of individuals believe that the Titanic sank due to the large iceberg that it hit, but that s not the major factor in why so many lives were lost that day. There were many contributors (most of them being human selfishness and faults). The ship had many indications of failure before even hitting the ice. They were warned multiple times by neighboring ships of possible danger, passengers reacted terribly in the chaos taking the every man for themselves approach, pride, the lower class were not seen as equals and therefore not prioritized, and the #1 cause made by crew and passengers alike is ignorance. The crew had been warned about the icebergs in their path but would not slow down for the sake of an image. The ship was barely filled with water when the people had been first notified of the hit, hundreds could be saved with such a fast notice but instead they locked a whole class of people in with the water too die. At one point... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All of these events could have been avoided if just one person on the ship would have just stopped and told the caption that going forward in such conditions may mean they never make it back. All in all, the Titanic was a true show of humanity s general disregard for anything but their own livelihood and image when in a disaster. Yes, there were passengers who sacrificed their lives for others and crew members who most likely felt uneasy after hearing the warnings from the intercom; but there was also 1,503 lives lost that could ve been ... • 3. Lennie Quotes From Of Mice And Men Of Mice and Men Lennie old Lennie the great old Lennie. Lennie wants to own a rabbit farm. But there are some of Lennie traits that I believe will make it a little bit of a struggle for Lennie. The traits that will hurt Lennie the most are he does not like to talk, he is mentally challenged, childish and playful, also he is very strong. These traits will harm Lennie in the long run because rabbits are small creatures and could be harmed if he is too rough. Lennie will be hurt in his dream of running a rabbit farm by not talking very much will be a challenge. An example is, We just come in. Said George Let the big guy talk. Said Curley Lennie twisted his head in embarrassment. S pose he don t want to talk. said George. (Steinbeck 25). This quote is when they first get to the ranch and Curley is questioning George and Lennie. Being quiet will hurt him because it will be hard for him to negotiate a deal for him to buy the rabbits he wants. If he has no rabbits he will not be able to make any money and without money he will not be able to live. It also will hurt him because he does not like to talk when he is selling his rabbits he will not be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One example of his strength this, Behind him walked his opposite a huge man, shapeless face with large, pale eyes, with wide, sloping shoulders; and he walked heavily, dragging his feet the way a bear drags his paws, His arms didn t swing at his sides, but hung loosely. (Steinbeck 2).At the beginning of the book when they are describing Lennie. this will be helpful with the work on the farm. Such as picking Alfalfa, making hay, and building shelters. On the contrary it will probably hurt Lennie in the long run because being strong and working with little animals may not be the best. Especially when Lennie doesn t know his own strength. Further, I occasionally invested in advertising and ran sales to promote customer loyalty. I also closed my shop on the weekends, when I anticipated that fewer potential customers would be in the area (due to the store s location in a business district). Lastly, on the rare occasion that I was offered discounts by one of my suppliers, I generally took advantage of that offer. Were these adjustments related to cost savings or increasing revenue, or both? With respect to my staffing adjustments, those changes were aimed at increasing revenue. Increasing customer satisfaction and the rate at which they were served provided the coffee shop with increased revenues from more sales. My inventory control procedures provided both increased revenues and cost savings. Quite simply, I ordered adequate levels of products which were in high demand, I was able to better meet customers needs, and my revenues increased. The cost savings I experienced as a result of my inventory control procedures were a bit more complex. First, in establishing a routine schedule for ordering, I was able to reap the benefits of lower shipping costs. Because I had a routine schedule, I could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even though Iran has been an agricultural land for a very long time, more than half of the total populationdwells in urban areas. Both domestic companies and foreign companies want to tap into this large market that just recently embraced capitalism and entered into the World TradeOrganization. With the technological advances in multimedia and the Internet, China is seeing a flood of copyright infringements in optical disk piracies, internet piracy, and other forms of piracy that didn t exist before the computer and internet. I will address those technical piracies in China in this paper. Optical disk piracy is the production of optical disks that contain intellectual property that can be written and accessed from the disk. The copyright infringement of optical disk piracy is affecting the music industry, the movie industry, and the software industry. Optical disk piracy comes in the forms of CD, CD R, DVD, and VCD. The music industry in China has lost an estimate of $600 million in revenues due to CD piracy, with the U.S. companies at $48 million.6 The pirated CDs either are counterfeited from the original CDs or a mix match of songs put together by the violators. This is a huge crisis for the domestic music industry with them only seeing a slight rise in revenue only in 2002.7 Next we have the CDs and CD Rs that are causing a massive output of pirated software in China. There are licensed factories in China that actually create these pirated software CDs along with genuine ones to be sold to the public with the knowledge that they are violating the rights of the ... The AS relation P=P^e (1+Ој)F (1 Y/AL,Z), explains the effects of output on price level. A higher output results in an increase in price level hence the upward slope of the AS Curve2. Aggregate Demand(AD): The total of goods and services demanded in an economy at a given price level and period of time1. The AD relation Y=Y(M/P,G,T), captures the effect of price level on output. A lower output leads to higher price level hence the downward sloping AD curve2. In the short run output can be below or above natural level, which is caused by shifts in AS or AD. An economy is in expansion when the level of production (Y), is above the natural level (Yn) due to increase in Investment, consumer or government spending. The short run equilibrium is shown in graph 1, by intersection of the AS and AD curves at point A, where the labour, goods and financial markets are all in equilibrium. In terms of surgical procedures, much of society refrains from using chloroform as an anesthetic due to its life threatening effects on the human body and this chemical is not commonly used by the average individual within society, so its absence will be barely noticed from the daily lives of Americans. Yet, despite the fact that chloroform is an environmental hazard and is barely used by the average individual, its is acknowledged that the chemical is also used as a reagent and a solvent by factories in order to produce other chemicals. The hydrogen attached to carbon within this organic compound allows it to participate in hydrogen bonding and serve as a solvent for pesticides, fats, rubber, and oils. Next, chloroform also serves as a reagent (a compound added to a system to cause a chemical reaction, that is not necessarily consumed throughout the reaction), as it usually reacts with aqueous sodium hydroxide in order to produce the compound CCl2, which can then be inserted into the bonds of other compounds to create new substances. As a result, it can be noted that the economy, specifically the rubber and pesticide industries, will be hindered for a short amount of time. It is only a short amount of time, as there are many replacements available for chloroform that will result in the same or similar chemicals that factories want to produce. These alternatives include the chemical dimethoxyethane, which can replaced chloroform s role as a solvent due to its ability to mix in all proportions with a variety of solutes, including water and ethanol, and ethyl acetate, which can replace chloroform s role as a reagent to react with sodium hydroxide, as the reactivity of its elements are similar to the elements found within chloroform. In The Feminine Mystique, Betty Friedan addresses The Problem That Has No Name referring to the widespread unhappiness of the housewife due to their obligation to uphold their ideal image rather than pursuing their dreams; in Shooting an Elephant, George Orwellcomments on the societal expectations of imperialism and its effects on people who have the duty to uphold the law. In both of these texts, the confliction between societal norms and personal desires is emphasized, and both Friedan and Orwell agree that one must surpass the fear of breaking society s expectations and use personal wisdom to achieve what one believes is right. In The Feminine Mystique, Friedan defines The Problem That Has No Name to be the dissatisfaction and longing in suburban housewives which was not caused by a lack of femininity but an excess of education and awareness. Society defined the suburban housewife as the dream image of the young American woman and the envy...of women all over the world (Friedan 60). Women were expected to make a career out of being housewives, which Friedan found to be ridiculous. Women should not be confined to the home when they have the same capabilities as men. This role of the RIAA relates to the business and economic aspects of the recording industry and illegal downloads from online platforms. The RIAA s role in addressing illegal downloading has involved lobbying governments for enforcement of copyrights, litigation against private parties (individuals and organizations), engaged in illegal downloads, and marketing campaigns encouraging customers to refrain from engaging in illegal downloads. The paper begins with a background on how the technological developments led to the problem of illegal downloads before examining the role of the RIAA in curbing this practice. The analysis then concludes with the finding that the RIAA has been deficient in curbing this practice, resulting in significant losses in sales, revenues, and profits for the recording industry. Generic Biologics As A Tool For Evaluating The Safety And... 1.Background/Statement Of Problem: Generic biologics (otherwise referred to as biosimilars or follow on biologics), are described by the FDA as biological products that are highly similar to already approved biological products, notwithstanding minor differences in clinically interactive components and for which there are no clinically meaningful differences between the biosimilar and the approved biological products in terms of safety, purity and potency [4]. Biosimilars are copies of approved biologics, whose patent protection has ended and are analogous to a generic version of a chemically derived drug. Generic biologics are however more complicated to develop than a generic version of a chemically derived drug owing to their complex structure and inherent variability [3]. The assessment of bioequivalence as a tool for evaluating the safety and efficacy is based on the fundamental Bioequivalence Assumption that if two drug products are shown to be bioequivalent in average bioavailability, it is assumed they will reach the same therapeutic effect and be used interchangeably [1]. However, characterizing generic versions of small molecules drugs is considerably easier than characterizing biologic drugs due to several key characteristics [3], based on the fact that characteristics of biologics are influenced by: choice of source materials (cell line), production process, purification process and the final pharmaceutical formulation. One of the more known use of a chemical weapon was at the Second Battle of Ypres in April 1915. 160 tonnes of chlorine gas was released onto the French and Algerian troops. This could be considered the starting point in chemical warfareas it was the first large scale deployment of a chemical gas meant for harm. As more and more chemical weapons were developed, more and more countries followed the trend. The use of chlorine gas in trench warfare was first developed by Fritz Haber in 1914 as of help to the German army. At the Second Battle of Ypres, about 6,000 cylinders filled with about 160 tonnes of chlorine gas were opened and the gas made its way over to the French and Algerian lines. At first, the French thought it was a smoke screen and that the Germans were advancing towards them, but they were wrong. It was chlorine gas which would damage their respiratory organs and cause violent choking attacks. Back on the German lines, barely anybody expected this assault to be so successful and were not prepared to advance onto the French and Algerian lines while their troops were amidst panic and fear caused by the chlorine gas. • 25. Use of Qualitative and Quantitative Research Part 1 All research activities begin with a question. Research, in its most basic form is the process of answering that question, or questions. Academic research, though, is a systematic process of collecting and analyzing information so that it increases the understanding of the phenomenon under study (Holton Burnett, 2005). Regardless of the complexity or nature of the researchproject, there are at least eight characteristics that help define the process: 1) Research originates with a question or a problem; 2) Research requires a clear articulation of a goal; 3) Research follows a specific plan of procedure; 4) Research usually divides the principal problem into more manageable sub problems; 5) Research is guided by the specific research problem, question, or hypothesis;6) Research accepts certain critical assumptions. These assumptions are underlying theories or ideas about how the world works; 7) Research requires the collection and interpretation of data in attempting to resolve the problem that initiated the research (Leedy Ormrod, 2009). While requirements of research may vary between disciplines, and some may prefer qualitative or quantitative methodologies, multidisciplinary research within the medical field should follow at least six basic guidelines in order to be robust: 1) Contribute to theoretical development; 2) Be based on empirical data, on observation of some element of pedagogy; 3) Be cumulative, build on previous research; 4) Be objective; 5) ... Although this depiction is not wholly historically accurate, it does exemplify the Christian stance on heresyin the Middle Ages. Harsh treatment was occasionally necessary, to those who promoted Lucifer s teachings. Hereby heresy was seen as a major threat to Christ s Church and His people. Nevertheless, as will be shown, whatever means were put into practice by the Church failed since beliefs held at the beginning of the Middle Ages were still evident in the fifteenth century. Regarding... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On one level this was theological. Exemplifying this was Henry of Lausanne, a twelfth century French heresiarch. Weaved throughout his preaching, was a Pelagian stance on original sin. Hereby man was not tainted by the Fall, so only fell through his own actions. From this, Henry concluded there was no need for the sacraments. Subsequently orthodox salvation was attacked, arguably showing the Church was controlling the people. Moreover some taught the complete removal of the clergy. Thus anarchy would ensue as services, tithing and Rome s supremacy would be scrapped. Moreover since this Henrician stance was widespread, validated by the Free Spirit movement later and Messalianism earlier, heresy as a whole in this period can be seen as a major threat. Indeed the Church was also under attack regarding their secular influence too. The Twelve Confessions of the Lollards proves so. Within this manifesto is the declaration, he that hath taken him to the one (a temporal or a spiritual office) should not meddle ... with the other . Therefore, a desire for division between the two existed, reducing the Church s political influence. This was not necessarily a widespread belief among Lollards though, as its author John Purvey represented Lollardy s greatest minds. Nevertheless this was the face the world saw (as it was sent to Parliament) and even if a minority, was a threatening one. • 27. Corresponding Themes in Frankenstein and Blade Runner Ridley Scott s film Blade Runner reflects some of the key themes seen in Mary Shelley s classic novel Frankenstein. For one, both the sources touch on the necessity of creators taking responsibility for their creations. Another key theme established in both works is the idea that emotional complexity and knowledge, over memory and appearance, allow people to be defined as human beings. Throughout the novel Frankenstein, author Mary Shelley builds upon the theme that one must take responsibility for the actions and well being of their creations. Protagonist Victor Frankenstein consistently toils with the degree of responsibility he owes to the monster he created. Initially, Frankenstein completely abandons his creation, as the creature notes when he says, Yet you, my creator, detest and spurn me, thy creature... (Shelley 83). When the monster pleads for a female counterpart, Victor says, I refused, and I did right in refusing, to create a companion... He showed unparalleled malignity and selfishness in evil; he destroyed my friends... (Shelley 200). Victor fails to sympathize with his creation and fails to understand that all creatures desire something from their creator. A parallel theme of the disasters that occur when a creator doesn t take responsibility for its creations can be found in the 1982 film Blade Runner. In this film, Eldon Tyrell, the creator of the rogue Replicants, takes absolutely no responsibility for the danger he has created when he relegates the job of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Characteristics Of Doctor Faustus As A Renaissance Text 1719963 EN6001 Renaissance When answering the question of whether Doctor Faustus can be classified as a Renaissance text we must first find out what the Renaissance is how we define the artistic and scholastic pursuits that come from this age. We know that Renaissance just means to be reborn or rebirth. The dictionary definition of the Renaissance age is the revival of European art and literature under the influence of classical models in the 14th 16th centuries. The period before the Renaissance is known as the Dark or Middle ages. It is known for a decline in the arts and the pursuit of such things. The Renaissance wasn t only known for a growth in arts but also in the pursuit of knowledge. This was a rebirth of man questioning his identity and his place in the universe. During this period there was an explosion in science and discovering not only how the world works but how to make the world easier for us. This only drove some to question more though man and his place in society. Many people believed that if science went too far, if man tried to know too much or things he should not dabble in then it was going to be the fall of us from grace. While others thought that science had nothing to do with religion or God and that in fact it was our right as humans to try and learn more and grow as a race. Humorously enough, even when Demetrius does not grant Helena permission, she still devotedly follows him. Due to the constant flow of insults and abuses from Demetrius, Helena s character is pushed to the point where she wallows in self pity and despair as well as further compare her darker, less attractive complexion to Hermia s. When Lysander awakens under a love spell and professes his undying love for her, she runs away in distress believing he is implementing a cruel joke on her. When Demetrius follows in the same love struck manner, she becomes exasperated and falls further into her self pity. • 31. A Study On Female Entrepreneurs Chapter 1 Introduction The main aim of this study is to explore how female entrepreneurs have managed to open new ventures and also coping with the entrepreneurial system in the UK. Initially, women want to be part of the entrepreneurship activities and studies shows that the rate of women entrepreneurs is increasing (Brush et al, 2006). Gender discrimination is no longer a taboo in this twentieth century (Butler, 2003). 1.1Research background In today s business world, entrepreneurship is fundamental for the whole society and businesses (Blundel and Lockett, 2011). Therefore, it is a must to make additional research as the scope and involvement of Female Entrepreneurship as a societal and economical phenomenon is certain. Women entrepreneurship is as important for the economy of the country in addition to innovation economic growth, job creation and renewal through diversity (Ahl, 2006) However, in the UK, an additional 150,000 businesses would be created if rates of women s business ownership equalled those of men and an additional 900,000 if UK rates equaled those in the US (Verheul et al, 2006). 1.4 Project aim and objectives Main Aim: To assess how women entrepreneurs are ... However, when cousin Steve and Aunt Jenny are having this argument, it s hard to determine a clear winner because the morality of international trade and outsourcing is complex and often times inconclusive. There are great benefits and costs to society and this topic needs to be looked at through all lenses. One of the more heated debates regarding free tradeis sweatshops. Relocating production sites to non industrialized regions proves to be cost effective for these companies due to the significantly lower labor costs, the ability to better transport products to global markets, and the considerable lack of labor laws compared to the United States. This drastic cut of expenses makes it much easier for businesses to charge less for their products due to the large profit margin. Furthermore, some of these underdeveloped nations need more jobs coming into the country to help boost their economy. Although international workers are being paid significantly less than Americans, their jobs in these sweatshops provide a steady income for their families. Shakespeare wants the audience to see that Lady Macbeth s actions led her to guilty sleepwalking and rubbing her hands to wash the bloody spots away. • 35. Constructionism And Intersectionality From a social constructionism perspective, the meanings and definitions of race are created through categorizing groups of people from a cultural context. As stated by Bowleg (2012), the term women and minorities are ubiquitously wedded in public health discourse, policy and research which fails to consider the intersection of these two categories whereas a woman can be both a minority as well as a female. By combining two aspects that each experience discrimination and oppression in their own rights individuals which share 1 or more are often marginalized further. Write An Essay On Rabies Virus A virus by definition is any member of a unique class of infectious agents . . . that consists of genetic material, which may be either DNA or RNA, and is surrounded by a protein coat and, in some viruses, by a membrane envelope ( virus ). Such agents are unable to produce the necessary nutrients to survive because they do not possess the biochemical mechanisms or organelles to synthesize necessary elements. As a result, they feed off a living host cell by attaching to the cell s docking proteins and injects its virusthrough the membrane. However, the cycle of a virus is more complex than it may seem. There are eight main steps that occur in a basic virus: attachment, penetration, uncoating, targeting, geneexpression, genome replication, virion assembly, and the release of the new infectious virus. During attachment, the virus s attachment proteins dock on specific receptors found on the outer membrane of certain target cells. In order for this process to occur, the attachment proteins must bind with a certain receptor for that specific virus. For example, the rabies virus has glycoprotein attachment molecules that bind with acetylcholine receptors on neurons. The virus then penetrates the cell and injects its nucleic acid from the capsid, the proteinshell that protects the virus, through either... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cybercrime also consists of crimes that are illegal when committed without the use of technology (Choi, 3).
