Neonatal jaundice is a common finding in the primary care setting, as almost all newborn infants
will develop an increased level of total serum or plasma bilirubin (TB) presenting as jaundice (Wong
Bhutani, 2013). The identification and treatment of severe neonatal jaundice is necessary to
prevent acute bilirubinencephalopathy and the chronic and permanent complication, kernicterus
(American Academy of Pediatrics [AAP], 2004). The laboratory implications for management of
unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia in term and late term infants ( 35 weeks gestation) after
discharge home will now be discussed. Risk assessment for jaundice should be performed on an
infant before discharge from the hospital, using TB or transcutaneous bilirubin and/or assessment
of risk factors. Therefore, if the TB is plotted on a nomogram prior to discharge, the PNP will
have an idea about the infants risk for developing hyperbilirubinemia at the initial newborn visit
and can guide the need for laboratory evaluation. If this is not available, the PNP should be aware
of major risk factors for the development of hyperbilirubinemia including jaundice present in the
first 24 hours of life, blood group incompatibility, gestational age of 35 36 weeks, sibling history of
phototherapy, cephalohematoma or significant bruising, exclusive breastfeeding, and East Asian
race (AAP, 2004).

Kamehameha and Sejong the Great King Kamehameha was the first ruler of the Hawaiian

The Transcontinental Railroad was a technological breakthrough that managed to make the
USA feel smaller to travelers. Railroad systems had been in place decades before the
transcontinental railroad had been constructed. However, these systems were not in synch as
there were many different railroad companies and even more laws in place from state to state.
This was in part due to the civil war, during this period both governments wanted better
transportation of goods and troops. This caused many factors like track gauge (spacings of the
rails) lengths to differ vastly. These differences in factors caused the slowing of transportation as,
many of the times, people and goods being transported had to move trains where these railways
met up. Also, many railways would not intersect towns, causing them to board trains on the other
side of town. The Transcontinental Railroad was one of the stepping stones towards
standardization as these factors were enforced by law for uniformity, and towns began to be built
around these railways. This allowed people to travel from the eastern coast to the western coast
without having to swap railways many times and would bring people and their ideas closer

George Washington crosses the Delaware River with his continental army on the night of December
25, 1776, during the American Revolutionary War. This event is considered to be the first move in
a sudden attack done against the German Hessian allied mercenary forces at Trenton, New Jersey in
the Battle of Trentonwhich took place on the next morning of December 26th. Battle of Trenton was
a small but a major contribution in the American Revolutionary War. General Washington driven
the primary part of the continental armyagainst the hessian soldiers who surrounded the entire

the Venturi and orifice meters. The purpose of the tray hydraulics experiment was to study the
vapor and liquid tray hydraulics parameters for sieve, or perforated, trays in a distillation column.
By performing experiments based on theory and comparing results to literature values, the
objectives of this experiment can be achieved. Both the orifice and the Venturi meters produce a
restriction in the flow and measure the pressure drop across the meter. The velocity of a fluid is
expected to increase as the fluid flows from an open area, to a more constricted area. Assuming
incompressible flow, a negligible height change, and steady state, Bernoulli s equation can be
simplified to show the correlation between the volumetric flow rate and the pressure drop. The

To further convince Jane of staying with him, Rochester tells her than he ll put Adele in a
boarding school and get rid of Thornfield. He calls Thornfield this accursed place This tent of
Achan. In Joshua vii Achan took of the accursed thing , i.e., he took spoils of war from the
conquered city of Jericho, and concealed them in his tent. He and his family were ritually stoned
to death at the Lord s command as a result. Rochester s situation parallels that of Achan. He, like
Achan, wants to claim what is not his. He wants to lay hold on something that he has no right too
essentially Jane Eyre. Also, it is interesting that he refers to Thornfield as an accursed place. This
symbolizes a foreshadowing of the destruction of Thornfield later on in the novel.
Despite all this, Jane, as all humans, falls weak to matters of the heart. Fortunately, whenever her
resolve quivers, Bronte uses imagery of cleansing fire to strengthened her. For example, when Jane

There are several differences in themes, writing styles, and conclusions found within historical
British plays, in particularly the plays of Everyman, The Second Shepherds Play, Shakespeare s
Twelfth Night, and Marlowe s The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus. These plays reflect many of
their times heated topics and concerns. While the endings to each of these plays significantly
contrast, the themes within each play fully prepare audiences for the ending to which will be
further explained. Of these plays, Everyman and Doctor Faustusare perhaps the most similar, yet
the most contrasting. While both appear to explore the subject of death, the act in which they come
to their conclusions differ greatly. For instance, Everyman tries repeatedly to convince company to
join him on his journey to death, while Faustus always has company attempting to persuade him
away from his evil deal with Lucifer or vice versa. As they approach the ending, the stories become
opposite as they were in the beginning. Everyman eventually finds his company, while Faustus must
face the consequences of his deal with Lucifer all alone. The ending of Everyman leaves the
audiencewith a peaceful feeling, knowing that they too can be accompanied at death by doing
good deeds. However, The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus leaves the audience with a tragic,
morbid ending as they watch him join Lucifer, alone and in despair, regretful of his deal.
