A Brief Note On Legislation And Poor Oversight
Cause: deregulatory legislation and poor oversight Since 2001, the Federal Reserve System chose
easily monetary policy and reduced loan level again. As a result that America began to decrease
interest in the two half years. FRS totally reduced interests in 13 times. It allowed financial institution
to borrow money for unlimited times. And then, it leaded to increase American money supplement in
unusual. The liquidity of market enhance in rush. In this situation, the financial market stimulated
consumers costs appetite and brought investors enthusiasm. At last, it became inflation. It is clear that
there are many causes leaded to the financial crisis in the 2008. However, America s macro policy is
definitely the core reason for the financial crisis. Since 1999, America began to release financial
regulation. It made American financial ecological environment break out many problems. For
example, financial derivative instruments occurred changes, value chain became longer and longer,
which leaded to a subprime crisis. Before subprime crisis happened, the American government
proposed a series of acts and policies involved limited export. American government adopted different
trade barriers for developing countries. And it also limited technology products which push the
domestic products price increase and decrease the job opportunities. At the same time, the government
controlled domestic economical innovation power. That is also a main reason of financial crisis.

Analysis Of The Longest Day
As World War II was ending, the film industry saw a surge in the production of combat films depicting
what unfolded in the war. These films usually displayed the fighting as either patriotic or anti war.
However, some movies were produced which took a more neutral stance on the violence and focused
more on historical accuracy. In The Longest Day, directed by Darryl F. Zanuck, the Allies plan and
execute landings on several beaches in France such as Normandy to enter the European theater at the
start of the second World War. It also shows the events of D Day from everyone s point of view, even
including Nazi Germany and the French Resistance. The Longest Day asserted itself as an extremely
successful film because of the more neutral approach it took on the fighting, the historical accuracy it
possessed, and it s depiction of ethnic relations. Unlike most films at the time, The Longest Day did
not strongly take a pro war or anti war stance. Instead it had more of an uncommitted theme which
was centered around the correctness of the battles of the war. Nevertheless, there are some occasional
scenes showing valor and bravery, such as the scene at Utah beach where soldiers charge. I believe
Zanuck chose to make the film equitable instead of a patriotic film or an anti war film because he truly
wanted to capture the battles and what he saw of the war. The allies aren t particularly shown as heroes
as much as in other movies and the German soldiers are shown as average, non evil

A Woman Placed On Death Row For Murdering Her Pimp
Nawal El Saadawi, author of Woman at Point Zero, once said, Women in most countries have not
achieved much, because they can t be liberated under the patriarchal... system...which is governed by
power, not justice, by false democracy, not real freedom. This quote addresses a certain idea that is
prevalent in the novel: men have immense power over women in Egypt. Firdaus, a woman placed on
death row for murdering her pimp, recounts her life s tale of sexual abuse and inequality of gender to
El Saadawi to help her understand her past. Constantly mentioning money, pleasure, and other key
focuses, Firdaus describes her life in great detail to make it seem more real and relatable. Based on a
true story, El Saadawi articulates Firdaus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows that the significance of books changes from escape to wealth when Firdaus realizes that
they were mainly reserved for rich men. Essentially, men have the upperhand in most matters, even in
access to literature, as they generally have more money than women. Although she manages to buy
her own books, she only affords them by submitting to men s power through sex, which frustrates her.
Money is another symbol that supplements the main idea of men s power over women. In the
beginning of the book Firdaus uncle has the cash; therefore, has the control. He decides that Firdaus
needs to stop school after she gets her secondary school certificate, because it is too expensive. Simply
because men have the primary capability to earn piastres, women are made to do as the men please.
Firdaus feels very put down as she has a strong desire to continue her education or to search for a job.
Originally, she wants to earn respect by being financially independent, which relates to when she
attempts to get another job later on. In both attempts men take advantage. Firdaus stays with Bayoumi,
who ends up raping her, as she has no money for housing. She can t escape men overpowering her
solely because she has no piastres to call her own. In this sense, she feels trapped. She notes, ...men
force women to sell their bodies at a price, and that the lowest paid body is that of a wife. All women
are prostitutes of one kind or another (99).

Essay on The Jewish Partisans of The Holocaust
Resistance during the Holocaust, both Jewish and non Jewish, is a daunting task to cover. Information
abounds in relation to this which leads to the problem of putting all of it into one paper. Due to this, I
will only cover the specifically Jewish Partisan fighters. The movements are divided into two groups
of Eastern and Western Fighters. Partisans fought in almost every European country including but not
limited to Belgium, Poland, Russia, France, Italy, Greece, and Lithuania. A partisan is a member of an
organized body of fighters who attack or harass an enemy, especially within occupied territory; a
guerrilla. The Jewish partisans were mostly teenagers, both male and female, of which ten percent
were women, but also included all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They helped distribute anti Nazi propaganda and produced fake documents, fought in major battles
against the Germans, and smuggled people, arms, money, and food in and out of camps, ghettos, and
German occupied territories. Their main objective though was to harass the Nazis in hit and run
maneuvers. They did this by blowing up trains, assassinating major Nazi officials, and hitting Nazi
convoys. They also helped start major uprisings such as the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and the Sobibor
revolt. Partisan casualties were usually low in number due to the method of fighting used. They were
also successful due in part to the fact that they knew the lay of the land, where German soldiers did
not. A basic timeline of Partisan activities follows something close to the following. The first known
Jewish resistance was in Belgium in 1939 with the Jewish Solidarity. These Jews joined the Belgium
Army of Partisans in 1940 when Germany first started occupying Belgium. The resistance movement
grew even larger when French and Greek Jews joined resistance movements in 1940 and 41,
respectively. The Eastern partisan groups sprang up beginning in June of 41 after the Germans invaded
the Soviet Union. The partisans continued to fight right up to the end of the war in 45. As I mentioned
at the beginning, Jewish partisans are placed into two categories: Eastern and Western. There was no
major resistance in Germany, due to the fact that everything was highly scrutinized by Hitler s

Service Learning Project Paper
Service Learning Project When I began my Civics class, thinking it potentially difficult and boring, I
did not initially look forward to this project. However, as I did each activity, I found myself enjoying
each and every one. From sitting in a board meeting to collecting trash, I discovered something new in
all of the ways I volunteered. Not only did the people I volunteered for gain something through my
service, but I feel that I gained a lot as well.
The first activity I completed was observing a Davidson County School Board meeting on the topic of
an information breach that occurred. I took notes throughout the meeting and supported every teacher
that spoke about their concerns. Collecting trash around the Ledford High School campus, both the
football and baseball stadiums on two different occasions, was the next activity I completed. I then
helped to paint a set for the Ledford Production of The Music Man. When the Special Olympics was
held at Ledford, I decided to use that opportunity to become a buddy. I took the athlete and his family
that I was paired with around to the different games that were offered, and got him water and snacks
when he needed it. I was also a buddy for multiple athletes at the Miracle League of High Point. I
assisted and encouraged each child as they batted, ran the bases, and played in the outfield in every
game. I chose to attend the School Board meeting because I was interested to see how the release of
Davidson County employee information affected their lives. My mother is a teacher, and I was curious
if other employees shared her concerns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Importance Of Technology In The Organization
The world we live in today is more complicated, competitive and technologically advanced, and there
is always a demand for resource and if the existing resources are not utilized properly it leads to poor
results. Technology is a component that can be used for the productive use of resources. But
employees in the organization often resist adapting to technology. Introducing new technology and
tools into an organization can increase productivity, boost sales, and help you make better, quicker
decisions however getting every employee adjust to the change in technology is often a challenge.
Organization very constantly face the challenge of adapting themselves to the technology and it
depends on its employees to overcome the change and employees need the stimulation to adapt to the
change and this reminds me of a famous quote You can t build an adaptable organization without
adaptable people and individuals change only when they have to, or when they want to (Gary Hamel).
As per Gary Hamel individuals only change when they have to or when they want to and Motivation
is a factor that can drive individuals to change or adapt to technology. Motivation is the key ingredient
to bring about a change in the employees which can lead to the success of an organization.
Organizations even though they have all the technical skills, will not be successful if they are not able
to motivate their team to take up change. The manager or leader or the organization should have the
skill to

Zelda Wind Waker Research Paper
Students rarely have time where they can spend time doing the things that they revel in. One of the
most popular indulgences at ASU is that students love to play video games. Even though most
students would want to play more modernized games, I would highly suggest students take the time to
appreciate what the classic genre has to offer. The Zelda franchise literally formed the gaming industry
into the industry it is today. One of the games that has shifted the Zelda franchise is The Legend of
Zelda Wind Waker.
Similarly to the mass of the other ZELDA games; Wind Waker approaches gameplay with an almost
identical trial. On Outset Island it is a young warrior named Link s birthday. It is a special day where
he finally has the honor to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although he has a massive amount of health it, however, is not a good thing. You can fight an entire
swarm of enemies and not come close to dying. Even though it was supposed to be an exciting fix, it
pulls away from the challenge that so many players love. Boss battles are plentiful, but Link has too
much health for an intermediate to advanced player. But, this might be a better aspect for younger
players.
With rich, vibrant colors Wind Waker appeals to a more expansive age group. Instead of the dark
grotesque animations, Link is instead surrounded by fluid green and blues. For the time it was created
in Wind Waker excelled in animation. Even though the 3 D animation was a relatively new and
unestablished parameter, the animators did an impeccable job at creating a vivid platform. Although
the game lacks the realism of today, it does however, compare closely to the more modernized
generation of Nintendo games. Outstanding visuals can only be paired with energetic and exciting
music. The songs are fitting for each play through, with every step you take there is a new

Theme Of Identity In Treasure Island
In a quote by Joseph Kestner he said, In Treasure Island, Hawkins is forced to achieve an identity, but
this process is riddled with ambiguity, including the fact that Jim commits murder and remains
haunted by the experience as a nightmare, (______). He specializes in masculinity theory from novels
written in the late nineteenth century. Kestner is able to relate Jim because he is forced to become a
new person, kill a man to save his own life, and questions why situations happen. Wyeth suggests that
Jim is about take on a courageous mysterious journey by using Jim s poses, gender roles, darkness,
and specific details to portray his maturation throughout the novel, thereby suggesting that we are all
subject to transitions that are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of darkness and shadowing conveys a sense of mystery and of the unknown, altogether
foreshadowing events to come. Jim is displayed under a shadow and his mother is in the sunlight next
to the house. Wyeth designed this image to show that Jim is about to go on a mysterious journey, and
his mother is going to stay where she is. Jim states, I said goodbye to mother and the cove where I had
lived since I was born, and the dear old Admiral Benbow since he was repainted, no longer quite so
dear, (57). Jim is walking away from everything that he has ever known and starting his new life as an
adult. Jim s house and his mother are illuminated by the light to show that they are going to stay in a
safe, known place; meanwhile, the darker figures, like Jim, are heading to an unknown destination.
The use of darkness shows that Jim has a dark path ahead of him. Normally, darkness is associated
with evil and corruption, which is fitting for Jim s path. The use of darkness can foreshadow later in
the novel to when Jim kills Israel Hands. Ultimately, when Jim kills a man this shows how he became
corrupt along his adventure. When Jim killed Hands, this showed his transition from innocence to
corruption, which can also be viewed as his maturation to an adult. All transitions can mature us in
both good and detrimental ways this instance happened to be

A Day in the Life of a Dj
Have you ever wondered as you were driving down the road listening to the radio, How do they do
that? I certainly have, and so for my junior job shadow experience I chose to shadow Mike Shannon
from 99.7 WDJX, a very popular radio personality in Louisville, Kentucky. I chose to shadow him
because I was interested in how DJs do their job and how a radio station is run. I thought that the job
would be fun, exciting, and I thought it would be interesting. Going in to the Radio station I already
knew that it was probably a high stress job and that on occasion it was very exciting. Some of the
questions I had going into the situation were, what kind of history is behind the radio and radio
personalities and what kind of education do you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Self employed DJs usually pay for everything themselves. Some DJs become well known among the
community and are asked to make public appearances around the community. Most DJs that are well
know are the charismatic ones who are wild and crazy on air. Which leads me to my next question I
had what kind of personality do you need to be a radio personality and what is the environment like?
DJs are always trying to please the people. If people don t listen to you the ratings go down. When I
asked Mike what kind of personality is needed he responded by saying, The person needs to be
positive and outgoing. Also you need to be very patient with people who call in because not everyone
is going to be nice and happy when they call in. So you need to be able to hold back rude comments
you might want to say to them. (Mike) DJs must be able to multitask and between watching the clock,
choosing music, answering the phones, reading reports, entertaining guests and the audience. Again
everything is about timing. DJs are required to plan ahead and be able to keep up with everything that
is going on. They must be able to play the next song or commercial on time. It can be difficult to keep
up but once you do it for awhile it gets easier. Working at a radio station can be fun but stressful at the
same time. Dust and temperature control are very important parts of keeping the equipment running
and in good condition. DJs may not always have jobs either, especially

A Little Background Information About The Saw Movies
A little background information about the Saw movies is the first Saw movie was released October 29
2004, along with the newly created series, the second Saw movie was released October 28 2005,
almost a year after the first movie of the series was released. The Saw movies are an established
movie franchise. These movies are very dark as well as gory, which appeal to those who are fond of
graphic horror. The first Saw movies was directed and written by James Wan, the second Saw movie
was directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. When watching the two Saw movies, the audience can spot
the differences between them. Each movie has a few similar characters. The main characters in Saw I
as well as Saw II are as follows: Tobin Bell, as John Kramer/Jigsaw, Dina Meyer, Detective Allison
Kerry, and Shawnee Smith, Amanda Young. These characters were constant between the first two Saw
movies. The Saw series is known as movies that over uses gore for some parts of the movie;
nonetheless, the use of the gore causes the movie to be more intense for the audience watching.
In the first Saw movie, the movie starts, the audience is looking at a dark screen. They notice a man
under water, opening his eyes and rises from the water and screams. The audience then finds out that
there is another man in the room, but they do not know who either of these men are. As the movie
goes on, the audience acquires some background information about both men. They learn the man in

Colorado Creative Music
Colorado Creative Music
A company without a strategic vision is like a fish out of water gasping for air. This analogy strikes an
honest chord with Colorado Creative Music (CCM). In order for a company to be success in the
marketplace, it must have a clear vision statement. The company must also be founded by core
business competencies that will allow the business to operate flawlessly.
This essay will provide an overview of CCM, a situational analysis, a problem analysis including
analysis of each business function, recommendations for the company, and a plan for implementing
the proposed recommendations.

Another problem for CCM is Skanson is currently the general manager, leading talent developer, and
the leading performer. Skanson spends a majority of his time on tour promoting his music, which
leads to little time for managing the company.
Distribution
Distribution channels are another problem for CCM. CD revenues generated from performances
accounted for approximately 85% of total sales in 2000. Wholesale revenues were approximately 6%
of total sales. Direct mail sales accounted for approximately 6% of sales, while online sales accounted
for a mere 3% of sales. CCM recognized that the price its wholesalers were charging chain stores was
preventing its music from entering the market.
Financial
Financially, CCM is in distress. The company realized a net profit of $20,626.70 in 1998, but despite
additional sales growth and additional years of experience, the company only realized $4,292.00 in net
income in 2000. The company s gross profit increased steadily form 1997 to 2000, but expenses have
also increased steadily.
Technology
CCM isn t technologically up to date. The company is currently operated out of a large rental house. If
CCM wants to grow and attract potential artists and employees, the company should move into a
facility equipped to handle a record label. If CCM wants to be considered a reputable record label, it
needs to have all the amenities of a recording studio. For

Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1 Research Paper
When people think about a mutation or a genetic disorder, they often tend to think about fictional like
characters such as a half beast half man scenario. However, genetic disorders and mutations are
simply just mistakes in the genetic code. These mistakes can be so minor that it has no effect on you
whatsoever, or they can be a major problem. Myotonic dystrophy type 1 is one of those genetic
mistakes that has a huge impact on the way you live your life. Myotonic dystrophy type 1 is a type of
multisystem disorder that cannot be caught, but is genetically inherited. Myotonic dystrophy type 1
has to do with a special gene and chromosomal problem, with very severe, rare symptoms, and it has a
major impact on life.
First of all, what is myotonic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The symptoms are also effected by the age of the carrier. If an adult is experiencing muscle weakness
especially in the leg, hand, neck, and face, and myotonia, which is uncontrollable contraction of
muscles, they should be suspected of having DM1. If a newborn has hypotonia, facial muscle
weakness, general weakness, positional malformations, or respiratory insufficiency, it should also be
suspected of having DM1. Many testes are available to be able to determine if you have DM1. Some
tests include electromyography, serum CK concentration, and a muscle biopsy. Checking allele sizes
also help to determine whether or not you are positive for DM1. Unfortunately, since the disorder is
rare, it is very difficult to predict a prognosis on it. Non molecular testing that has been used in the
past to establish the diagnosis of DM1 currently has little role in diagnosis and is primarily used if
molecular testing of DMPK does not identify the CTG repeat expansion and other myopathies are
being considered. (Thomas D. Bird).
Living with DM1 usually has a major impact on your life. In some cases, you can be a carrier of DM1
and not be affected at all by it. But, in the majority of cases, it really puts a damper on life. Some
people may experience only mild stiffness or cataracts in later life. In the most severe cases,
respiratory and cardiac complications can be life threatening even at an early age. In general, the
younger an individual is when symptoms

returns to the front but becomes trapped with few other men from his battle group. After the men
refused to help him in their struggle to make it back, Henry shoots them at point blank range in an
effort to encourage the men to work harder. After this, Henry himself is almost executed after being
mistaken for an Austrian. His near death experience during his escape caused him to reassess his
beliefs because he is beginning to see that men are not meant to try and slaughter each other. He flees
the army and gives in to his desires to see Catherine, a sign that he is going back on his belief that a
man should never show any emotion. Henry travels to Switzerland with Catherine and tries to live out
a normal life there, but now he is a confused man struggling with internal demons about his actions:
The war seemed as far away as the football games of some one else s college. But I knew from the

The Segregation Of South Afric An Outcome Of Colonialism,...
The existing pattern of manipulated schooling in South Africa can be considered an outcome of
colonialism, segregation and apartheid. In the early 1800s, the arrival of the British introduced the first
system of education in Africa. The indigenous people of Africa were exposed to schooling under the
provision of British missionaries. At this time, education was a means of spreading the British
language, imposing their religion and just a general mechanism for social control. Their strategy was
to civilize the black Africans and anglicize the white Afrikaners. And most of the school
establishments were mixed, serving whites coloreds and Africans. However, the Afrikaners resisted
European control in attempt to avoid becoming the lower ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Education s role can be molding a person for their prescribed field of work, and that is exactly what
the whites conducted. They systematically programmed the Africans for work as cheap unskilled
laborers and thus left the superior roles in society for themselves to fill. Clear ethnic and class
stratification developed, and the government eventually adopted the view that Africans must fund their
own education, which continued throughout the apartheid. Between 1910 and 1948, per capita
expenditures on white education increased by 263% and African numbers in school plummeted to
about 30% (Johnson 1982). Once again, limiting education was a tool to shape society for the benefit
of one group the education of the White child prepares him for life in a dominant society and the
education of the black child for a subordinate society (Johnson 1982). And in 1948, the Afrikaner
National Party rose to power by an election victory, attaining further governmental policy control. The
aim of the National Party was to increase and rigidify the segregationism imposed in the few years
previous, and thus began the apartheid in South Africa. To facilitate the separation of all ethnic groups
the Bantu Education act was introduced in 1953. And in combination with the National Education
Policy Act of 1967, which stripped the provinces of most of their control over white education and

Mannerist Paintings
Paintings from the High Renaissance and Mannerist Period Mannerism emerged and rejected the
classical Greco Roman art in the 1520s, which constituted to the Renaissance era. The Mannerist
works challenged the Renaissance style and the interest in human anatomy, perspective, and
proportion (Kleiner 600). In contrast to the Late Renaissance painters where they were inclined to
create naturalistic art, Mannerist painters honed in creating art that was unrealistic by portraying
ambiguous space, unusual presentations of traditional themes, and removing the limitations of
expected conventions (Kleiner 643). The Venetian representative of Mannerism is Jacopo Robusti
(Kleiner 636). He is known as Tintoretto, and one of his most famous paintings is Last Supper.
Another great Venetian master was Paolo Caliari of Verona (Kleiner 637). He is known as Paolo
Veronese, and he painted Christ in the House of Levi. It is beneficial to one s knowledge in
understanding the similarities and differences in size, content, composition and form of these two
paintings. Furthermore, it is fascinating how these two works reflect and how they were influenced by
their time and culture; moreover, one is able to perceive the era in which the two paintings were
created. In regards to size and content, Tintoretto s Last Supper and Veronese s Christ in the House of
Levi share quite a few similarities. Both of these paintings were painted on huge canvases. Last

Political Development And Political Decay By Samuel P....
In the article, Political Development and Political Decay, Samuel P. Huntington looks at the
importance of modernization, institutionalization, and mobilization in political development. He
discusses the many definitions of political development and purposefully distinguishes it from
modernization. Instead, he defines political development as the activities of political institutions.
Huntington then addresses the affect political mobilization has on the deterioration of political
institutions, and the ways in which institutions can develop. Modernization is often attributed as an
aspect of political development, but Huntington believes otherwise and he gives several reasons for
why this is. First, associating political development ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He identifies two reasons why political development is viewed as a one way concept . First, because
modernization is an irreversible process, it is clear why some may believe political development is
also irreversible, considering that the two concepts are often viewed as interconnected. Secondly, an
optimistic view of progress may exclude political decay as a possible concept (392). In Huntington s
view, studying both political development and political decay will help us better understand the
developing world. Next, Huntington argues that political institutionalization should play a greater role
when writing about political development. Institutionalization can be a characteristic of any political
system, it can be clearly defined and measured, and it is a reversible process. As defined by
Huntington, political development is the institutionalization of political organizations and procedures
(393). Different degrees of institutionalization can be applied to organizations based on their their
adaptability or rigidity, complexity or simplicity, autonomy or subordination, and coherence or
disunity. An organization that is more adaptable to changes has a greater level of institutionalization.
An older organization which has had more time to adjust to its successes and failures is more likely to
have a higher level of institutionalization than a younger organization, which is more likely to be rigid
and less adaptable. In addition, an organization that has

##amophosis, And The Metamorphosis
Feeling like an outsider in normal in today s society; everyone has felt excluded at least once, whether
it be something as small as a conversation or as a large as not being invited to an event. However,
there are other people who have been completely left out, people who don t fit into a particular group
or ideal and are left out because they are different. Some may argue that they are excluded because
they are misunderstood, but that is not the case. The short story The Metamorphosis, by Franz Kafka,
the video Franz Kafka and Metamorphosis by BBC, and personal experience prove that people are
excluded because they are different from what is considered normal, and not due to a
misunderstanding or being misjudged.
In the short story The Metamorphosis, by Franz Kafka, the main character, Gregor, is turned into a
beetle and is excluded by his family. The reason for his exclusion was because he was different. He
could no longer speak or move humanly, and no longer looked human. Although his family thinking
he could not understand them may be part of the reason for his exclusion, but the fact that he would
have still been excluded eventually debunks the idea. It is human nature to reject something different
from them. For example, Mrs. Samsa, Gregor s mother and had even begged in paragraph 62, Let me
go to Gregor...Don t you understand I have to go to him? . However, when she finally did see him, she
fainted. Even though she had wanted to see him and most likely

The Effects Of Feedback On Learning Essay
The Effects of Feedback on Learning

Bachelor of Psychology
13 April 2015 Introduction
Feedback is an important construct found within many theories of learning and in instruction, where
information is provided to learners after each trials or group of trials, in response to their movement
patterns and facilitates their learning process (Schmidt Lee, 2011). A learning activity accompanied by
feedback can maintain or adapt cognitive operations according to how new information about
performance matches the learner s expectations about performance (Bangert Drowns, Kulik, Kulik,
Morgan, 1991). The person on the receiving end of a feedback session is able to gain knowledge of the
quality and the results of their performance through the person giving the feedback (Salmoni, Schmidt
Walter, 1984; Schmidt Wrisberg, 2004). Research has shown that the type of feedback provided has
influences in the process of learning, which are no feedback, partial feedback and full feedback
respectively (Grant, McAvoy Keenan, 1982). Research about the presence of no feedback in
experimental settings has shown that the lack of information allows assumptions to be made during
the process of learning, which tends to lead to higher risk of error (Levine, Leitenberg Richter, 1964;
Rimm, Roesch, Perry, Peebles, 1971). In a study conducted by Hanna (1976) which explores

resolution through clarifying mutual concerns and then determining an agreeable solution.
Action Stage While Dr. Susan Heitler begins to understand the concern between Richard and Judith,
she documents her observation and offers her insight about what she learned about their relationship
and what the issue is. Dr. Susan Heitler initiates an effective plan of action to achieve the objective of
what Richard and Judith need before the session. She explains to Richard and Judith what she wants
for both of them to do which is to go back to good humor. Dr. Susan Heitler continues to explain to the
couple that in order for them to proceed, they must learn new skills for talking about their issues.
Effective Interviewing Skills An important question to ask when meeting with a couple for the first

Romeo And Juliet Fate Vs Free Will
William Shakespeare once said, Everyone has their fate, and the more people try to avoid it, the more

Verona, Italy, Romeo and Juliet must keep their love hidden from their two feuding families, the
Montagues and the Capulets. After Romeo is banished from the city, he and Juliet will sacrifice
everything including their lives for each other. The tragic love story of these two star crossed lovers
has influenced our society and culture with movies like Titanic and The Outsiders where fate has a

The Pittsburgh Pirates, a MLB baseball team playing in PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, offers

The International Ecotourism Society
Often times when people think think of the environment they think of fields, lakes, or wild animals.
This, however, is no longer the reality of our world today. Because of human impacts on the
environment, fields have been turned to shopping malls, lakes have been dried up, and undomesticated
creatures are being wiped out by the thousands. One main perpetrator of this destruction is ecotourism.
ecotourism is defined as, travel to natural areas in ways that conserve the environment and improve
the welfare of local people. ( Significance of Protecting Natural Sites for Ecotourism Development ).
The term ecotourism was first used in the 1970 s, but became popular only in 1990 when the
International Ecotourism Society (TIES) was founded. The main goals of ecotourism were to have a
means for people to tour natural places, but without having a negative impact on the environment. (
Ecotourism ). This, however, has not been the case. Preservation of the environment is no longer the
main goal of ecotourism companies, for the great profits have become many of their main concerns.
The positives aspects of ecotourism are not worth the extinction of endangered animals, the overuse of
natural resources, and the disturbance of local communities.
Ecotourism has had a wide and vast history, spanning all around the globe. The International
Ecotourism Society (TIES) was first founded in 1990 and is the world s longest running ecotourism
company. TIES has 5 main principles that it says it

Imagery In Hills Like White Elephants
In Ernest Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants , the use of imagery and symbolism in the
landscape of surrounding Ebro Valley, as well as the use of language and tone, shape our
understanding of the conflict between the two main characters. The man referred to only by The
American , is trying to convince Jig to get an abortion. Though the word (abortion) is never stated
directly in the entirety of the story, it is conveyed by the use of symbolism and imagery in the
surrounding landscape. Furthermore, we can conclude that the topic at hand will come to a final and
abrupt solution that Jig will, in fact, get the abortion due to her tone and language at the end of the
story. In the beginning of the story, Jig makes a very subtle and almost unnoticeable comment that the
hills surrounding Spain s Ebro Valley resemble White Elephants. Historically, in India and many parts
of the eastern world, white elephants were gifts of great honor and importance, but just like most gifts,
they had a large price that went along with them. White elephants were extremely hard to care for and
have no apparent use or utility for the person receiving it, and because of this many people who

Elvis And Johnny Cash Essay
Historically, genres of popular music have undergone dramatic changes due to changing technology,

Dangers And Dangers Of Phobias
There are many obstacles to be faced in the world we live in today. Do you realize though that many
of these so called obstacles , whether they be big or small, are merely fears that have escalated in
status in our subconscious? As humans most of us live a very structured, nearly robotic, day to day
life. We wake up in the morning, we got to school, work, or other hobbies, then we come home, go to
bed, and if we are lucky, we do it all over again the next day.
Sometimes though, throughout our tedious lives we are interrupted by those pesky obstacles that I
mentioned before. Interestingly enough, some of these obstacles can be describe as phobias. A phobia
is an irrational and excessive fear of an object or situation. These phobias can range dramatically from
simply distracting to life altering.
Luckily most of us suffer from seemingly less harmful phobias that may not trigger an emotional
outpour every day of our lives. Due to the unlikeliness of confrontation some people are able to live
their lives avoiding phobias they might have procured. For example, a more common phobia known
would be Coulrophobia, the fear of clowns. Although you may be completely terrified of clowns, you
do not wake up every morning knowing you have to face one. You do however have to draw comprise
whenever carnival time comes around. Even though you may completely adore the amenities of a
festival you steer clear of the park to avoid any clowns, sacrificing amusement to bypass fear.

Pros And Cons Of Violence In Video Games
Ever since the nineteen eighties people, usually politicians and the news media, have been quick to
blame video games for societal woes, saying violence in video games causes violent behavior and
makes people anti social. Some have even argued video games cause racism, sexism, and cause health
problems, but most research that points towards video games being bad are inconsistent and
sometimes contradictory. And yet people still want to restrict and censor video games, even though
they are an art form just like film or paintings or what have you, and because they are an art form they
are a form of media and are protected under the first amendment. Violent video games do not cause
real world violence like any art form they only mirror the violence of the real world, and it is
contradictory to think that they cause actual violence. Video games have even been shown to be
healthy, they relieve stress and increase hand eye coordination, and are a positive, non violent form of
relieving aggression in a way that does not cause physical harm to others.

Nursing Career Path
Most people my age don t know which career path to pursue. I have always known that I wanted to be
a nurse. As a young child, I was involved in a burn accident that required emergency care. I distinctly
remember the care that I received from the nurses and their genuine compassion for me as a patient.
That event has had a profound influence on my decision to pursue a career in nursing.
As an adult, I have begun to make this goal a reality by applying myself to my academics and learning
to balance my school and work life. I believe that this skill will not only benefit my personal life, but
also greatly impact my ability to be a successful nurse in the health care field. In addition, I m lucky
enough to have two close relatives in the nursing

Homer s Odyssey
Once the Odyssey had entered an orbit around Earth, Chief Steward Pars stood at the front of the
cabin and announced, Ladies and gentlemen, we will begin our tour. Please follow me. They went in
single file from the main cabin through a manhole and into the dining compartment, filled with orderly
rows of slate gray tables and chairs fixed to the deck. On the starboard side, they could hear the
clanging of pots and pans from the kitchen. The lambent light throughout the Odyssey was neither
glaring nor menacing in any way, but rather they mimicked natural sunlight, which had a salutary
effect on the passengers. Through the portholes, they caught brief, reassuring glimpses of their home
planet, Earth. As they exited the dining compartment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, in order to put everything in perspective, we must return to the dawn of our universe. In the
beginning, nearly fourteen billion years ago, the Big Bang created time and space from a single
infinitesimally small point that exploded and released tremendous energy causing the universe to
expand as it still is today. Specifically, the energy was in the form of electrons, protons, and neutrons.
Protons and neutrons later clumped together to form the nucleus around which electrons orbited to
produce the very first atoms, such as hydrogen. In other words, atoms make up the building blocks of
all matter. The electrons, protons, and neutrons are the subatomic particles. Hydrogen, the lightest
atom, has one proton in its nucleus around which an electron orbits. Clouds of hydrogen atoms formed
the primordial nebulae. When the nebulae became thick enough, the hydrogen atoms clumped
together, amassing gravity and even more hydrogen atoms to eventually form the core of the stars.
After two hydrogen nuclei collided and fused at the high temperatures in the core, the element helium
formed in a process called nuclear fusion. Nuclear fusion releases tremendous energy that makes stars
give off light and heat. Our Sun shines chiefly due to nuclear fusion. In fact, stars first

Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha
It was a sign of growing up, when the dark made no more difference to you than the day. ― Roddy
Doyle (page 278) This quote is from Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha by Roddy Doyle. Paddy Clarke Ha Ha
Ha is about a 10 year old boy named Patrick Clarke, but everyone calls him Paddy. This books setting
is in 1968 s Dublin, Ireland. At the beginning of the book, Paddy is a cruel boy; he enjoys the Three
Stooges, Geronimo, Father Damien and the Lepers, and also his favorite soccer player George Best.
Paddy has challenges in life just like every other 10 year old boy he has problems at home, but when
he s with his friends it s a different story. Paddy hangs around with his friends in his neighborhood and
they just love to get into trouble, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The boys love playing around the neighborhood even though what they did was very chancy and they
could have gotten in trouble. Though they occasionally got in trouble, they kept up with their crazy
activities. School is also a big part of Paddy s life. Paddy believes that he is exceptionally smart and he
thinks that he is smarter than his teacher Mr. Hennessey. Paddy thought that hw was so much smarter
than Henno because he did everything that he was supposed to do. I listened. I watched. I did my
homework. I came home at Friday lunchtime. I m in the best desk. It was true. I d made no mistakes
all week. All my sums had been right. I d got through the twelve times table inside thirty seconds.
(192) Paddy believes that he does everything he can to be as smart and superior as he thinks he is.
Aside from Paddy thinking that he is superior, there are some crazy things that go one in school. An
example would be when James O Keefe got in trouble for pruning. He had been caught doing it to
Albert Genocci. Now he was going to talk about pruning. The shock made me forget to breathe... I
know you are only playing when you do it, said Mister Finnucane. (109) Pruning was something that
wasn t allowed in Paddy s school even though everyone thought that it was funny. School is very
important to Paddy, with his smarts and

Literary Devices In Stop All The Clocks Cut Off The Telephone
In Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone by W.H. Auden the author uses different literary devices to
portray the theme of overwhelming grief and loss. In the poem, the speaker is someone who has
recently lost a loved one. The person is so distraught that they start issuing harsh demands. The
speaker wants everything to stop and all noise to seize. He or she then starts revealing more personal
details by telling how much the loved one meant to them. This poem is dramatic and successfully uses
literary devices to show how the speaker is feeling in their time of grief. W.H. Auden uses metaphors,
personification, and overstatements to reveal the effects of overwhelming grief.
First, W.H. Auden uses metaphors throughout the poem in order to reveal how the speaker feels for the
loved one they lost. A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object
or action to which it is not literally applicable. The first metaphor W.H. Auden uses is He was my
North, my South, my East and West (9). This metaphor conveys that the person who has died means a
lot to the speaker. The directions refer to the direction the speaker s life is going. This implies that the
speaker has lost all direction now that they have lost this loved one. The next metaphor the author uses
is My working week and my Sunday rest (10). The author uses these words to show that the
relationship between the speaker and the person who died had an intimate relationship. The final

College Dropout Causes
The Social Cause of College Drop Out Rates Fifty six percent of students who enroll in college will
drop out within 6 years due to the constant stress of balancing work and school, expensive tuition, and
high societal standards (Atlas 1). The typical college freshman is not mentally or emotionally prepared
for college.(Allianz Tuition Insurance) The college drop out rate is seventy one percent higher due to
balancing work and school because students do not know how to properly manage their time. With
working so many hours, students tend to get overwhelmed because their time is limited when it comes
to studying for tests, quizzes, homework, or finals. Being in the workforce and going to school full
time interferes in your in and out of class study time. The article The Struggle of Work School balance
states Working full time can shrink the chance that students will graduate at all, by cutting into the
time available for studying and attending classes ( TheAtlantic). The social aspect of balancing work
and college are usually students who come from different racial backgrounds. Usually that are from a
Hispanic or Black background but are also older in age (TheAtlantic). This leads back to a social issue
because it shows how the system wants the lower minority group to fail.( ). Due to not having the
means to afford the university but also wants them to fail so they can stay in the bluecolor community
instead of making it big(). Also students from

  • 3. Analysis Of The Longest Day As World War II was ending, the film industry saw a surge in the production of combat films depicting what unfolded in the war. These films usually displayed the fighting as either patriotic or anti war. However, some movies were produced which took a more neutral stance on the violence and focused more on historical accuracy. In The Longest Day, directed by Darryl F. Zanuck, the Allies plan and execute landings on several beaches in France such as Normandy to enter the European theater at the start of the second World War. It also shows the events of D Day from everyone s point of view, even including Nazi Germany and the French Resistance. The Longest Day asserted itself as an extremely successful film because of the more neutral approach it took on the fighting, the historical accuracy it possessed, and it s depiction of ethnic relations. Unlike most films at the time, The Longest Day did not strongly take a pro war or anti war stance. Instead it had more of an uncommitted theme which was centered around the correctness of the battles of the war. Nevertheless, there are some occasional scenes showing valor and bravery, such as the scene at Utah beach where soldiers charge. I believe Zanuck chose to make the film equitable instead of a patriotic film or an anti war film because he truly wanted to capture the battles and what he saw of the war. The allies aren t particularly shown as heroes as much as in other movies and the German soldiers are shown as average, non evil ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This quote addresses a certain idea that is prevalent in the novel: men have immense power over women in Egypt. Firdaus, a woman placed on death row for murdering her pimp, recounts her life s tale of sexual abuse and inequality of gender to El Saadawi to help her understand her past. Although she manages to buy her own books, she only affords them by submitting to men s power through sex, which frustrates her. Money is another symbol that supplements the main idea of men s power over women. In the beginning of the book Firdaus uncle has the cash; therefore, has the control. He decides that Firdaus needs to stop school after she gets her secondary school certificate, because it is too expensive. Simply because men have the primary capability to earn piastres, women are made to do as the men please. Firdaus feels very put down as she has a strong desire to continue her education or to search for a job. Originally, she wants to earn respect by being financially independent, which relates to when she attempts to get another job later on. In both attempts men take advantage. Firdaus stays with Bayoumi, who ends up raping her, as she has no money for housing. She can t escape men overpowering her solely because she has no piastres to call her own. Information abounds in relation to this which leads to the problem of putting all of it into one paper. Due to this, I will only cover the specifically Jewish Partisan fighters. The movements are divided into two groups of Eastern and Western Fighters. Partisans fought in almost every European country including but not limited to Belgium, Poland, Russia, France, Italy, Greece, and Lithuania. A partisan is a member of an organized body of fighters who attack or harass an enemy, especially within occupied territory; a guerrilla. They helped distribute anti Nazi propaganda and produced fake documents, fought in major battles against the Germans, and smuggled people, arms, money, and food in and out of camps, ghettos, and German occupied territories. Their main objective though was to harass the Nazis in hit and run maneuvers. They did this by blowing up trains, assassinating major Nazi officials, and hitting Nazi convoys. They also helped start major uprisings such as the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and the Sobibor revolt. Partisan casualties were usually low in number due to the method of fighting used. They were also successful due in part to the fact that they knew the lay of the land, where German soldiers did not. A basic timeline of Partisan activities follows something close to the following. The first known Jewish resistance was in Belgium in 1939 with the Jewish Solidarity. These Jews joined the Belgium Army of Partisans in 1940 when Germany first started occupying Belgium. The resistance movement grew even larger when French and Greek Jews joined resistance movements in 1940 and 41, respectively. The Eastern partisan groups sprang up beginning in June of 41 after the Germans invaded the Soviet Union. The partisans continued to fight right up to the end of the war in 45. As I mentioned at the beginning, Jewish partisans are placed into two categories: Eastern and Western. However, as I did each activity, I found myself enjoying each and every one. From sitting in a board meeting to collecting trash, I discovered something new in all of the ways I volunteered. Not only did the people I volunteered for gain something through my service, but I feel that I gained a lot as well. The first activity I completed was observing a Davidson County School Board meeting on the topic of an information breach that occurred. Collecting trash around the Ledford High School campus, both the football and baseball stadiums on two different occasions, was the next activity I completed. I then helped to paint a set for the Ledford Production of The Music Man. When the Special Olympics was held at Ledford, I decided to use that opportunity to become a buddy. I took the athlete and his family that I was paired with around to the different games that were offered, and got him water and snacks when he needed it. I was also a buddy for multiple athletes at the Miracle League of High Point. I assisted and encouraged each child as they batted, ran the bases, and played in the outfield in every game. • 22. Political Development And Political Decay By Samuel P.... In the article, Political Development and Political Decay, Samuel P. Huntington looks at the importance of modernization, institutionalization, and mobilization in political development. He discusses the many definitions of political development and purposefully distinguishes it from modernization. Instead, he defines political development as the activities of political institutions. Huntington then addresses the affect political mobilization has on the deterioration of political institutions, and the ways in which institutions can develop. Modernization is often attributed as an aspect of political development, but Huntington believes otherwise and he gives several reasons for why this is. First, associating political development ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He identifies two reasons why political development is viewed as a one way concept . First, because modernization is an irreversible process, it is clear why some may believe political development is also irreversible, considering that the two concepts are often viewed as interconnected. Secondly, an optimistic view of progress may exclude political decay as a possible concept (392). In Huntington s view, studying both political development and political decay will help us better understand the developing world. Next, Huntington argues that political institutionalization should play a greater role when writing about political development. Institutionalization can be a characteristic of any political system, it can be clearly defined and measured, and it is a reversible process. As defined by Huntington, political development is the institutionalization of political organizations and procedures (393). Different degrees of institutionalization can be applied to organizations based on their their adaptability or rigidity, complexity or simplicity, autonomy or subordination, and coherence or disunity. An organization that is more adaptable to changes has a greater level of institutionalization. An older organization which has had more time to adjust to its successes and failures is more likely to have a higher level of institutionalization than a younger organization, which is more likely to be rigid and less adaptable. However, there are other people who have been completely left out, people who don t fit into a particular group or ideal and are left out because they are different. Some may argue that they are excluded because they are misunderstood, but that is not the case. The short story The Metamorphosis, by Franz Kafka, the video Franz Kafka and Metamorphosis by BBC, and personal experience prove that people are excluded because they are different from what is considered normal, and not due to a misunderstanding or being misjudged. In the short story The Metamorphosis, by Franz Kafka, the main character, Gregor, is turned into a beetle and is excluded by his family. The reason for his exclusion was because he was different. He could no longer speak or move humanly, and no longer looked human. Although his family thinking he could not understand them may be part of the reason for his exclusion, but the fact that he would have still been excluded eventually debunks the idea. It is human nature to reject something different from them. For example, Mrs. Samsa, Gregor s mother and had even begged in paragraph 62, Let me go to Gregor...Don t you understand I have to go to him? . However, when she finally did see him, she fainted. • 28. The Effects Of Feedback On Learning Essay The Effects of Feedback on Learning Choo Jun Jie 13107898 James Cook University Singapore PY1102 Exploring Psychology 2 Dr Aoife McLoughlin Bachelor of Psychology 13 April 2015 Introduction Feedback is an important construct found within many theories of learning and in instruction, where information is provided to learners after each trials or group of trials, in response to their movement patterns and facilitates their learning process (Schmidt Lee, 2011). A learning activity accompanied by feedback can maintain or adapt cognitive operations according to how new information about performance matches the learner s expectations about performance (Bangert Drowns, Kulik, Kulik, Morgan, 1991). The person on the receiving end of a feedback session is able to gain knowledge of the quality and the results of their performance through the person giving the feedback (Salmoni, Schmidt Walter, 1984; Schmidt Wrisberg, 2004). Research has shown that the type of feedback provided has influences in the process of learning, which are no feedback, partial feedback and full feedback respectively (Grant, McAvoy Keenan, 1982). Research about the presence of no feedback in experimental settings has shown that the lack of information allows assumptions to be made during the process of learning, which tends to lead to higher risk of error (Levine, Leitenberg Richter, 1964; Rimm, Roesch, Perry, Peebles, 1971). • 45. Homer s Odyssey Once the Odyssey had entered an orbit around Earth, Chief Steward Pars stood at the front of the cabin and announced, Ladies and gentlemen, we will begin our tour. Please follow me. They went in single file from the main cabin through a manhole and into the dining compartment, filled with orderly rows of slate gray tables and chairs fixed to the deck. On the starboard side, they could hear the clanging of pots and pans from the kitchen. The lambent light throughout the Odyssey was neither glaring nor menacing in any way, but rather they mimicked natural sunlight, which had a salutary effect on the passengers. Through the portholes, they caught brief, reassuring glimpses of their home planet, Earth. As they exited the dining compartment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, in order to put everything in perspective, we must return to the dawn of our universe. In the beginning, nearly fourteen billion years ago, the Big Bang created time and space from a single infinitesimally small point that exploded and released tremendous energy causing the universe to expand as it still is today. Specifically, the energy was in the form of electrons, protons, and neutrons. Protons and neutrons later clumped together to form the nucleus around which electrons orbited to produce the very first atoms, such as hydrogen. In other words, atoms make up the building blocks of all matter. The electrons, protons, and neutrons are the subatomic particles. Hydrogen, the lightest atom, has one proton in its nucleus around which an electron orbits. Clouds of hydrogen atoms formed the primordial nebulae. When the nebulae became thick enough, the hydrogen atoms clumped together, amassing gravity and even more hydrogen atoms to eventually form the core of the stars. After two hydrogen nuclei collided and fused at the high temperatures in the core, the element helium formed in a process called nuclear fusion. Nuclear fusion releases tremendous energy that makes stars give off light and heat. Our Sun shines chiefly due to nuclear fusion. In fact, stars first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The boys love playing around the neighborhood even though what they did was very chancy and they could have gotten in trouble. Though they occasionally got in trouble, they kept up with their crazy activities. School is also a big part of Paddy s life. Paddy believes that he is exceptionally smart and he thinks that he is smarter than his teacher Mr. Hennessey. Paddy thought that hw was so much smarter than Henno because he did everything that he was supposed to do. I listened. I watched. I did my homework. I came home at Friday lunchtime. I m in the best desk. It was true. I d made no mistakes all week. All my sums had been right. I d got through the twelve times table inside thirty seconds. (192) Paddy believes that he does everything he can to be as smart and superior as he thinks he is. Aside from Paddy thinking that he is superior, there are some crazy things that go one in school. An example would be when James O Keefe got in trouble for pruning. He had been caught doing it to Albert Genocci. Now he was going to talk about pruning. The shock made me forget to breathe... I know you are only playing when you do it, said Mister Finnucane. (109) Pruning was something that wasn t allowed in Paddy s school even though everyone thought that it was funny. • 48. Literary Devices In Stop All The Clocks Cut Off The Telephone In Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone by W.H. Auden the author uses different literary devices to portray the theme of overwhelming grief and loss. In the poem, the speaker is someone who has recently lost a loved one. The person is so distraught that they start issuing harsh demands. The speaker wants everything to stop and all noise to seize. He or she then starts revealing more personal details by telling how much the loved one meant to them. This poem is dramatic and successfully uses literary devices to show how the speaker is feeling in their time of grief. W.H. Auden uses metaphors, personification, and overstatements to reveal the effects of overwhelming grief. First, W.H. Auden uses metaphors throughout the poem in order to reveal how the speaker feels for the loved one they lost. A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable. The first metaphor W.H. Auden uses is He was my North, my South, my East and West (9). This metaphor conveys that the person who has died means a lot to the speaker. The directions refer to the direction the speaker s life is going. This implies that the speaker has lost all direction now that they have lost this loved one. The next metaphor the author uses is My working week and my Sunday rest (10). The author uses these words to show that the relationship between the speaker and the person who died had an intimate relationship. The final ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The typical college freshman is not mentally or emotionally prepared for college.(Allianz Tuition Insurance) The college drop out rate is seventy one percent higher due to balancing work and school because students do not know how to properly manage their time. With working so many hours, students tend to get overwhelmed because their time is limited when it comes to studying for tests, quizzes, homework, or finals. Being in the workforce and going to school full time interferes in your in and out of class study time. The article The Struggle of Work School balance states Working full time can shrink the chance that students will graduate at all, by cutting into the time available for studying and attending classes ( TheAtlantic). The social aspect of balancing work and college are usually students who come from different racial backgrounds. Usually that are from a Hispanic or Black background but are also older in age (TheAtlantic). This leads back to a social issue because it shows how the system wants the lower minority group to fail.( ).
