Why Do Students Should Participate In Music Programs
Today, many schools focus on preparing their students for their lives beyond the classrooms. They do
so by focusing their limited resources on programs that they deem necessary for a proper education.
Furthermore, when schools make cut backs, music programs are one of the first to be terminated.
Ironically, music embodies many of the subjects that are not eliminated: mathematics, history, science,
reading, etc. Music requires self discipline, accountability, and teamwork: traits that most employers
seek in young applicants. Students should participate in music programs because they foster cognitive
development, inspire teamwork, and encourage students to adapt a solid work ethic.
There are numerous benefits of participating in music programs;

Theme Of Ammu In The God Of Small Things
The novel The God of Small Things, by Arundhati Roy follows the story of the Ipe family. Set in
Ayemenem, India, this novel deals with issues of racism and prejudice relating to the caste system.
The character of Ammu is in the middle of the caste system and the issues of the love laws. Ammu s
family considers her to be somewhat of an outcast because she is divorced and friends with an
untouchable man, Velutha. Ammu s relationship with her family causes her to break the love laws and
thus condemning her to isolation. The Ipe families dysfunctionality left Ammu alone to fend for
herself. Ammu is the daughter of Shri Benaan John Ipe, Pappachi, and Shoshamma Ipe, Mammachi.
She also has an older brother named Chacko. Growing up in the Ipe house was very hard for Ammu.

Her childhood was full of humiliation, beatings, and being treated like an animal, and this pushed her
into a void that she would never be able to escape from, She developed a lofty sense of injustice and
the mulish, reckless streak that develops in Someone Small who has been bullied all their lives by
Someone Big. She did exactly nothing to avoid quarrels and confrontations. In fact, it could be argued
that she sought them out, perhaps even enjoyed them (172). Knowing that as a girl she would have to
keep on taking the punishments became reckless and would actually go and seek out fights so people
would know that she is not to be messed with. Since Pappachi was so busy she had to find herself a
husband, Since her father did not have enough money to raise a suitable dowry, no proposals came
Ammu s way (38). Even though Ammu did not have to get a husband she decided to show her reckless
streak by settling for a man that proposed to her five days after they met. She

The Migration Of The European Union
The current issue I will be covering within this paper will be the ongoing migration of individuals
from northern African states, such as Syria and Libya, into Europe and states contained within the
European Union as a result of furthering IS advancement in the region. The displacement of these
individuals or migrants form their home lands not only causes severe socioeconomic strains on the
nations of Syria and Libya on top of the current political conflict, but it also afflicts the resources and
politics of the nations these individuals migrate to in order to escape the current conflict. There really
is not limit to the amount of actors involved within, what now is a global issue. Relevant actors range

whilst reaching a deal between the EU and Turkey in response to the sizable amount of refugees
crossing the Mediterranean Sea between Turkey and Greece, which has been coined at the most

contributing to an uneven allocation of resources for the nation where these individuals end up,
potentially causing a shortage of assets to appropriately manage the amount of refugees

Why Eugenics Is The Human Population Responsible For...
Many wonder if it is ethical to use genetic information to alter natural processes of procreation to give
people the best genes they can get. There are already ways to predict the presence of a genetic disease
in a child based on the parents and in vivo testing. Eugenics is increasing the number of genes in the
human population responsible for improving intelligence, beauty, musical ability and other traits we
value (Munson, 2012 272 273) Eugenics is often confused to just be for consideration of the parents
and the child. However, the definition of eugenics is reliant on the outcome for the entire human
population. The two types of eugenics include positive and negative; positive eugenics is The aim of

He states that procreative beneficence is Couples (or single reproducers) should select the child, of the
possible children they could have who is expected to have the best life, or at least as good a life as the
others, based on the relevant, available information . (Savulescu 295). This definition suggests that
people have a moral obligation to choose what is best for their child based on what they know. He
argues that there is a way to select from a large range of possible children people could have; most
commonly, this is done by using fetal selection through prenatal testing and termination of pregnancy
(Savulescu 296). Technology is already in place for procreative beneficence , it just needs to be
utilized properly. He is not arguing for the positive selection of traits that will correspond to those that
result in a better life. When he presents the example of testing for the genetic predisposition for poor
memory, he suggests that there is a positive obligation to test for memory profiles if the results of poor
memory are horrible (298). Savulescu seems to support the idea of a decent life, but not the best life
possible for all traits. The boundaries about what defines intelligence are still vague, but plato claims
that life is a mixture of wisdom and pleasure (Savulescu 298). These factors need to be balanced, and
if there is a genetic code that selects for these traits, Savulescu would likely support them being
chosen.

The Clinical Micro System
In this ever changing modern day business environment, organizations should always be ready to
adapt to the ever changing concepts and customers needs. Both internal and external factors influence
the kinds of changes that take place in any business or organization. As of the complex adaptive
systems, in order to keep up with the constant upcoming changes, they need to keep on revising their
goals and objectives. They can do this by assimilating to any current changes present in society.
Most healthcare issues that face the system today are of a complex nature. An example is that of the

Analysis Of Orinda Upon Little And On My First Daughter
Throughout the seventeenth century, poets mourned the loss of a child publicly by writing elegies, or
poems to lament the deceased. Katherine Philips and Ben Jonson were two poets who implemented
the elegiac form in Orinda Upon Little Hector Philips , On My First Son , and On My First Daughter
respectively. Although Philips and Jonson s elegies contain obvious similarities regarding the nature of
the works, the differences between the approaches taken to mourn their children are quite contrasting.
These differences may be reduced to the emotions displayed in the elegies, which may be considered
reflective of the sex of either of the poets and their religious beliefs. The autobiographical grief shown
by a mother (Katherine Philips) and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She cannot even rely on fate; fate is now connected with mourning. Of the two poets, Philip s moves
farther away from the consoling nature that religion provides for Jonson. Philips s elegy is raw with
the emotion of a grieving mother who cannot seem to find consolation in the world. She got a taste of
what she wanted: she [saw] him and then he disappeared (Philips 5). Orinda Upon Little Hector
Philips is best illustrated as a mother s progression through her grief. It begins with Philips being
robbed of her son the first stanza, the second stanza has a sense of disbelief, in the third stanza the
pain of her son s death seems to engulf her, in the fourth stanza Philips grief is detached from those
around her, and the final stanza enforces a type of grudging acceptance that this is the last of her
unhappy...verse (Philips 20). Normally, the end of unhappy...verse (Philips 20) would signify the
return of a happy verse, but this is not what Philips is implying. She will cease to write due to her
seemingly unending unhappiness. Through this maternal perspective there is seemingly a stronger
connection between the poet and the lost child. Despite only having her son for a short time, her
maternal grief is ever present at his loss and presents her with continuous grief.
Jonson s son died at the age of seven. Because of this, he expressed a strong, personal bond between

Angry Black Woman Stereotype Analysis
The primary issue of this article lies in the perpetuation of the angry black woman stereotype. The
angry black woman stereotype can be seen as an extension of the matriarch and sapphire stereotypes,
both derivative of the dominant ideology of the slave era that was created to maintain black women s
subordination. The matriarch stereotype is presented as a domineering, aggressive, masculine, and
fiercely independent black woman whose forceful nature emasculates and demoralizes black men to
the point that they abandon their families (Newsome, 37). This image functions to devalue, exploit,
and subjugate African American women through an idealized wielding of power that is in no way
supported by the actual power structures of America (Newsome, ... Show more content on

This is problematic because often, black women feel inclined to either live up to the stereotype at the
risk of disguising any appearance of vulnerability, or they may modify their behavior in an attempt to
appear nonthreatening or stereotypical (Walley Jean 73). Even though there is little empirical research
that has specifically investigated black women s actual experiences with expression of anger, the
assumptions that it is a defining characteristic is pervasive. This stereotype has permeated American
society for decades and continues to influence the world s view of black women through television,
cinema, and virtually every other form of media. Anger is a universal emotion that is experienced
throughout the lifespan of every person, yet it is often seen as a definitive aspect of black women s
personalities and identities as human beings. Behaving in an assertive and outspoken manner would
usually be seen as a reflection of strength and intelligence, but for black women, it is viewed as
trenchant and domineering (Walley Jean, 69). This controlling image ensures black women are void of
anger privilege (social and structural freedom to openly express anger) that more powerful and higher
status individuals (whites) enjoy. (Walley Jean,

Closed-System Perspective
Initial Discussion Post
NURS6053 N 20
Week #2 In the ever changing healthcare field, organizations must be willing to adapt and make
changes when necessary. Patient centered care is of utmost importance in today?s healthcare
landscape. Therefore, management must not view change as a threat, but as a challenge to do
something new and innovative (Marquis, B., Huston, C., 2015).
Problem
My hospital is receiving a lot of negative feedback from patient surveys. The reason for this (I think)
is because we are unable to maintain an adequate number of qualified nursing assistants (NA) in the
medical surgical unit. NAs provide much of the ?hands on? care to patients and are a major asset to
nurses. Without NAs, nurses would not be able to provide adequate, quality care to patients.
Unfortunately, they are taken for granted at my hospital and given an unrealistic patient load.
Therefore, there is a lack of NAs and a high turnover rate.

If the hospital has an appropriate amount of NAs the patient care will improve, therefore, the surveys
will be positive. Applying an open system perspective and acknowledging outside contributors to

Consumerism Bruce Dawe Essay
Consumerism Bruce Dawe Poetry || 2009
Every society has mythology. In some societies, it s religion. Our religion is consumerism. As we are
constantly exposed to mass media and popular culture in our modern society, the insidious nature of
consumerism has allowed it to penetrate into every aspect of our lives, dictating our very beliefs,
values and wants. Nearly every individual in our society subconsciously conforms to the shallow and
superficial mindset that characterises our consumerist culture. This idea is highlighted by the
following texts; the poem Enter without so much as knocking by Bruce Dawe, an extract from the

This text clearly shows that consumerism is responsible for many of the decisions we make regarding
our life.
Bruce Dawe often deals with the issue of consumerism in his poems. Another of his works that
underlines how much consumerism affects our lives is his poem Breakthrough . The italicised words
at the start of the poem A little girl is reported to have died happily...singing an advertising
commercial. show the extent to which consumerism has affected this girl. On her deathbed, instead of
turning to a traditional faith or religion, she has instead turned to commercialism and consumerism,
highlighting the fact that consumerism has become more relevant and important than traditional
religions, especially to the younger generations. In the first stanza the first three lines starting with
Full volume up on the celestial choir! serve to cheapen her death and turn it instead into some sort of a
production. Full volume up and Stand by for action are examples of advertising jargon used to further
emphasise the point that consumerism exploits and demeans even something as serious as death. The

Personal Philosophy Of Ethical Decision Making

Introduction: Although education is perceived to be society s great equalizer, this is dependent on
school leaders ability to manage short and long term conflict. School reform efforts, bomb threats,

Difference Between Racial Inequality And Justice

Instructor M. Clark Sugata
Racial Inequality and Justice
Justice is a term that should not only prefer to different portions of distribution, but also to the
institutional conditions to develop individual capabilities, as well as cooperative communication.
Under this conception of justice, many people in the U.S. consider disciplinary justice as an
appropriate approach to sustain social order. However, it seems like there are more chances that the
minorities are targets of the inequality in justice system, especially in socio economic and political
problems.
Even if people of color were fully distributed in the capitalist hierarchy like white people, racism is
still a big problem of the inequality system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the National Center for Access to Justice (2015), a network of pro bono legal service
providers representing the poor has arisen to address the need of justice gap, but more than half of
those who seek help are turned away, as a result of unavailable adequate public funds and private
donations. By reducing the pro bono law firms, legislators indirectly thrust the poor into lack access of
finding qualified attorneys to represent themselves in bureaucratic proceedings. Rhode (2005)
suggests that in order to maintain the fairness of American justice, we need to press reforms in
political institutions, which has deep ideological and structural roots (p. 126). Those reforms include,
but not limited to, the distribution of legal self help materials, the procedures of resolving disputes
without lawyers or court hearings, the expansion of pro bono services, and the adequate funding of
legal aid agencies (Rhode, 2005, p. 126 134). Even though our laws can policies can change over
time, I believe Rhode s suggestions on reforms may have some involved complications due to the lack
of political actions, civil disobedience, and direct actions.
The United States is a dreadfully unequal society in terms of the distributions of material wealth,
especially the outstanding benefits and privileges that accumulate to wealth. This inequality is
enormous, regardless of race. However, the minorities are still struggling with the overall system of
socio economic inequality in which multiple scholars have to study, analyze, and suggest different

The Radio Frequency Identification ( Rfid )
Introduction As technology advances, businesses use technology to improve the efficiency of their
operations. Such is the case with the Radio frequency identification (RFID) in the health care industry.
These devices are very affordable to acquire and are currently used to track resources, patients,
doctors and expensive equipment. RFID helps with the collection of information for patients with lack
of communication or people with serious conditions. (Hu, 2015) With hospitals finding different way
to attract new patients in, these devices also help hospitals save money on the management side to
keep them afloat. This advanced technology has great potential to improve patient experience in
healthcare by taking away human error out of the equation.
Literature Review RFID uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attach to
objects. These tags contain electronically stored information. The information can be read by RFID
readers and can only be read if they are within the line of sight of the reader. There are two types or
RFID tags; passive and active. Passive RFID relies on RF energy transferred from the reader to the tag
to power the tag. Active RFID uses an internal power source, such as a battery within the tag to
continuously power the tag and its RF communication circuitry. The information is transfer efficiently
and automatically without human intervention. (Yao, 2012) RFIDs can be used the 5 areas that are

advance our lives, but may never consider its negatives. The media is a huge aspect of how we shape
our society. In the book Amusing Ourselves to Death by Neil Postman he shows his concern for how
this all can effect as as a people. He does this by using three popular persuasive literary devices to help
convey his message to the reader. The three devices being: Pathos, Logos and Ethos. All of these are
used many times throughout the book, with their own effects. Logos, is the appeal to logic. When using
this device you are using logical reasoning to help appeal to the reader. This also includes pulling facts,
statics and citing other credible sources to use. The next one is Ethos, which is showing that the author
is a credible source, and is well aware of what he is talking about. Lastly is Pathos, this is when you
appeal to one s emotion to get their attention. In this book Postman does a very good job of using all
of these devices.
Postman was able to incorporate all three of these devices into his book, but the most prominent one in
my opinion is, and that helps to best convey Postman s point is Logos. Logos is using logics and facts.
Two things you very rarely can fight against. Over and over Postman uses facts on how the media is
basically dumbing us down. An example would be

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Abrasive Jet Machining
Sapphire 0.2 0.8 300
Abrasive:
The most common abrasive materials used for Abrasive jet machining are aluminum oxide, silicon
carbide. Sodium bicarbonates, glass beads of small grain size and dolomite are used for cleaning and
polishing purpose. The selection of abrasive material depends on the work material, machining
operation and required material removal rate.
The size of the material is also important. The material removal rate (MRR) depends on the grain size.
The coarse grains give high MRR, and they are recommended for cutting. The finer grains are useful
in finishing operation. However, the finer grain tends to stick together and cause a clog in the nozzle.
The grain must be sharp edged, but fine enough to remain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thin sections of brittle and hard material like ceramic, glass, and germanium can be machined.
Disadvantages of Abrasive Jet Machining: The material removal rate is low. The process tends to
environmental pollution. A dust collection system must be provided to avoid air pollution and health
hazards. This can be eliminated by using abrasive water jet machining. The abrasive powder cannot be
reused because its cutting ability decrease and it may clog on orifice of the nozzle. Higher chance of
stray cutting*. Tapering may occur during drilling. AJM not suited for machining of soft material
because the abrasive may get embedded in the work material. Nozzle life is low (300hr), and short
standoff distance causes frequent damages on the nozzle. The air used for abrasive jet must be moister
and oil free.
* Stray cutting is an over cutting of material during machining process. It results in a non uniform
cutting surface. Stray cutting is unavoidable if cutting operation not properly controlled.
Applications:
AJM is suitable for machining heat sensitive material like silicon, gallium because the heat generation
during the machining is very

Examples Of Superstition In Julius Caesar
Superstition and the Supernatural Superstition and the supernatural have been around since people
first inhabited the earth. However, as society has progressed, these beliefs have been seen as naïve and
foolish. Nevertheless, superstition was a major part in Roman life and thus William Shakespeare uses
superstition and the supernatural in his play Julius Caesar. Superstition and the supernatural held great
importance in the time of Caesar and often influenced the decisions people made. Superstition is
defined as a belief or way of behaving that is based on fear of the unknown and faith in magic or luck.
Supernatural is defined as things that cannot be explained according to natural laws. In Julius Caesar,
many superstitious and supernatural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Three examples are Calpurnia s dream, the soothsayer, and Brutus seeing Caesar s ghost. Calpurnia s
dream foreshadows Caesar s death, which in turn furthers the plot. It also shows Calpurnia as a loving
wife of Caesar and also develops Caesar s fatal flaw, flattery. The soothsayer again foreshadows
Caesar s death, which again furthers the plot. The soothsayer also develops Caesar as arrogant and
proud. Caesar choosing between superstitious events also shows and develops his arrogance. Finally,
Brutus seeing Caesar s ghost is again another example of foreshadowing as the ghost predicts the
death of Brutus, which again progresses the plot. The event also shows that Brutus is second guessing
his decision of betraying Caesar. Superstition and the supernatural made Julius Caesar what it was, a
play full of fateful decisions. Although Caesar was arrogant, that was what him such a great leader.
Caesar was not afraid of the decisions he made and was not afraid of anyone or anything. As Caesar
said Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once (2.2

Analysis Of The Article Let s Make A Slave
After reading the assigned literature, I have now cast a light on several issues that are currently
causing problems today. The article titled, Let s Make A Slave, was depressing because it almost
forced one to go back in time and feel the plight of Africans Americans before slavery was outlawed.
William Lynch traveled a great ways to inform the people of the Virginia Colony about slavery and
how it should truly be done. As I was reading, it seemed as though William Lynch was reading the
instructions for a product (and not a human being) but he actually was talking about people (African
Americans). The speech that he prepared was delivered was so much conviction that it made it very
hard to believe that African Americans could have been treated any other way. The Europeans (during
slavery) did not respect Black people and regarded to them as uncivilized niggers (The Black Arcade
Liberation Library, 1970,p2) and sought nothing more than to treat them like the money making
machines they were. During the speech, William Lynch was talking about several topics that are still
lingering today (certain aspects have been passed down from generation to generation). For instance,
African American males were used to breed and once that job was done they were immediately
separated from their family (leaving the mother to raise the negro child). The slave owners sought to
pin the dark skinned Blacks against the light skinned Blacks and this was to ensure that there

Essay about John Keats s Ode to Indolence
John Keats has many memorable and distinct poems. He is well known for his ability to write and
adored by many. Ode on Indolence is a poem that can be relatable to its readers due to its idea of how
indolence interferes with life s opportunities, in particular the three mentioned in the poem, love,
ambition and poesy. Keats refers to these three figures as ghosts (51) therefore insinuating that they
once lived, but now they are mere figments of energy and air. Keats poem six stanzas of ten lines each
in iambic pentameter, he begins his poem with a passage from Matthew 6:28, They toil not, neither do
they spin , he uses this as reference for describing the three figures of the poem. In other, simpler
words, he is saying that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Keats identifies the three shadows in the third stanza labeling them as love, who was a maid, ambition,
pale and watchful and the last of the three shadows being poesy, which the speaker identifies as his
demon as well as his love. He also identifies them as maidens, each mild in their own way. Halfway
through the poem, the readers are shown three things that the speaker considers to be his maidens. He
shows his love individually for each of them as well as his dislike that they are there to take away his
peaceful summer, a metaphor that represents that warm weather is about to disappear, or that a
vacation is coming to an end.
The fourth stanza represents the speaker s sudden will for the maidens, as they were all he wanted,
until he decides on reasons as to why he may not need them. This only happens after the speaker
addresses that they faded, and, forsooth, I wanted wings! (31) He gives reason for love and ambition
to be given up on but cannot find a reason for poesy, as it is his favorite of the three. In the fifth stanza
the speaker understands that the figures have no influence on him and indolence is simply the way to
keep, he refers to them and says Oh shadows, twas a time to bid farewell! / Upon your skirts had
fallen no tears of mine (49 50). In the final

My Best Vacation
The best vacation ever! my cousin Vicky screamed from the bed next to me. I was just trying to fall
sleep, but she kept talking most of the night with her twin sister Emma. We all have the same age, and
this is the first vacation we have without parents, aunts, and uncles around, telling us what to do. We
arrived to Los Angeles, California at 11:00 pm, checked into the hotel and tried to rest. The next day
we planned to drive around the city and wait for our friend Annette, who was coming from Texas.
Annette was around twenty years old, but she had been traveling around the world with her father
since she was 13. I admire her, she is funny, has a good temper, and is really knowledgeable about
traveling. We are going to fly together to Mexico City first, and from there to Acapulco. We planned to
go to La Quebrada , it s a place in Acapulco where people do cliff diving. We had done some research
about it. The divers have to climb the cliff and do a freestyle jump into the water. We couldn t wait to
be there, Annette was going to be really happy too, she used to compete in platform diving when she
was in high school. The hotel room phone rang pretty early the next day. Our parents checking on us,
making sure we were ok. Emma talked to her mother and assured her that everything was ok and that
we will be careful driving around. It was funny, I looked at her facial expressions meanwhile she is
talking, and Emma rolls the eyes and nods a lot. Emma is the opposite of his sister Vicky. Vicky talks
a lot but she s a scary cat, on the other hand, Emma is quieter but really adventurous. Liz, my uncle
wants you on the phone! Emma announced. I picked up the phone and got myself ready for the
lecture. My father was concerned that we were going alone to Mexico. I promised that we were going
to stay in Acapulco a couple of days and go back to California. Don t do stupid things my father
continued, and, take care of each other. Annette arrived at midday, we were happy to see each other
again. We decided to go the movies. We say the premier of Batman Returns , the line at the movie
theater was extremely long, but we were so excited that the next day we will be flying to Mexico that

2. Analyze the arguments for government intervention as opposed to arguments for market based
solutions. Hint: See the information in our course textbook on market failures.
Without government intervention, the US economy would have continued to be devastated based on
the millions of Americans who lost their jobs, savings disappearances, and the senior citizens having
no source of income when they reached retirement age, (Koba, 2013). The market could not correct
itself from as the Gross National Product was almost cut in half from 1929 to 1932, where recovery
efforts without government intervention would be next to impossible.
3. Examine who may be helped and who may be hurt by the selected government intervention.
Social Security has helped the elderly receive income during their retirement years, and has helped
those who have disabilities from accidents and other disabilities to supplement their income sources.
Social Security takes a portion of income from workers paychecks each month, and pay those
individuals a retirement income based on when they elect to retire and receive this income. This
income makes up of more than half the retirement income of more than 75 percent of retired
Americans, and continues to help households with their daily living expenses by injecting funds back
into the economy (Osterland, 2014). Oddly enough,

The Egyptian Process Of Mummification
The Egyptian Process of Mummification
In ancient Egyptian society, preserving a body after death was an important process necessary for
entrance into an immortal existence.
According to Egyptian belief the soul did not die. The soul would take the form of a bird usually a
falcon and fly around in the world of the living returning later its dead body. The importance of
preserving the body revolved around the idea that the roaming soul would be able to recognize the
right body and return to it. As a result of this theology, Egyptians developed an effective system of
embalming.
The Egyptian embalming process was a significant and complicated process performed by priests.

The most well known mummies are those of Egyptian Pharaohs. The body of Tutankhamun is the
most renowned fully intact mummy. Several other royal mummies have survived the centuries but
they have been re wrapped and stripped of their jewels. Re wrapped mummies were not properly
completed and were always hurried(for fear of divine retribution). The Egyptians worshipped several
animals. Divine animals such as cats, jackals, hawks, and bulls were allowed the same mummification
privilege as humans. Entire cemeteries were reserved for animals. The cat cemeteries were situated
around Bubastis the center of worship of the cat goddess Bastet.
Underground catacombs house hundreds of thousands of mummified hawks. It was common practice
for visitors to the catacombs to purchase an animal mummy and dedicate it to a specific animal god in
return for a favour.
Nevertheless, most of these animal mummies when unwrapped contained no sacred animal, but twigs
and sawdust. The manufacture of phoney mummies would hundreds of years later in the eighteen
century again generate big business. The process of mummification was so esteemed that major
criminals would not be executed but denied being mummified. In another case, a prince who
attempted to assassinate Ramesses II was mummified alive. The wretched pose of this prince would
suggest he was asphyxiated. Another suggestion, is that the prince was impaled on a

want Helene to see me wipe my nose on my hand. The pipes were frozen again, there was no water in
the house, but I washed my socks and shirt every night. I d get a pot, and go over to Mister Ben s
grocery store, and stick my pot down into his soda machine and scoop out some chopped ice. By
evening the ice melted to water for washing. I got sick a lot that winter because the fire would go out
at night before the clothes were dry. In the morning I d put them on, wet or dry, because they were the
only clothes I had. Everybody s got a Helene Tucker, a symbol of everything you want. I loved her for
her goodness, her cleanness, her popularity. She d walk down my street and my brothers and sisters
would yell, Here comes Helene, and I d rub my tennis sneakers on the back of my pants and wish my
hair wasn t so nappy and the white folks shirt fit me better. I d run out on the street. If I knew my place
and didn t come too close, she d wink at me and say hello. That was a good feeling. Sometimes I d

Geostationary Satellite Essay
Optimizing the Bands in Geostationary Satellite Internet When it comes to each of the three main
bands, the Ka band, the Ku band, and the L band, we know that since they have a range of different
frequencies, they can therefore be optimized to work more efficiently. This can be done by three other
important characteristics. These would be bandwidth, the power of the signals used, and the quality of
the data transmission. The bandwidth can be utilized where there is currently outdated hardware such
as the modem or the receiver on a ground satellite or a geostationary satellite. When it comes to the
power of the signal, this can be increased which would help in the sending and receiving of data.
Finally, to improve the quality of the data, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Geostationary Satellite Internet Airline speed
On the flip side, the satellite internet provided in airlines is still slower than what the wired
counterpart offers. This was apparent in 2008 when one of the first Wi Fi s used on an airline had an
initial speed of 3 Mb which worked for that time. However, with the current technology of smart
phones and tablets, the demand for greater speeds is needed in order for passengers to be able to use
these devices efficiently. Today, speeds for geostationary satellite internet on airlines are around 12
Mbps, which is better than before but, still not as quick as wired internet. The price of the
geostationary satellite internet is still increasing but this is mainly due to the hardware associated with
having a stable connection. This is including but not limited to the antennas that increase the drag and
this in turn increases fuel costs for airlines. Adding on engineering costs along with maintenance,
these add up which the passengers of the airlines end up paying extra for ( How does in flight Wi Fi
work?, 2017).
Geostationary Satellite Internet and Portability
Users who are in certain organizations such as the Red Cross rely on an internet connect for GPS and
accessing the World Wide Web. Thanks to current advances in technology for geostationary satellite

How Does Pygmalion Change Throughout The Play
Pygmalion was a mythological character who liked to sculpture. He made a statue of his ideal woman
Galatea. The statue was so beautiful that he prayed to the gods it would be brung to life , his wish was
granted.
Have you ever had to learn how to speak fluently, in a brand new language that you are not used to ?
This is one of many problems for a flower girl Eliza Doolittle. In this story Professor Henry Higgins
makes a bet that he would get her to pass for a duchess at an ambassador s garden party by teaching
her to assume a veneer of gentility , the most important element of which, he thinks, is impeccable
speech. Throughout the play, many characters develop new problems and they all tie into each other.
Since Eliza is the newest character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At first he shows her that he has no interest in helping her with this transformation, then he eventually
came around to accepting because his friend made it more of a challenge that he could not do it. The
first thing he does is welcomes her into her new home as she will be staying with him for 6 months to
see if she can actually change before she can make it to London to pose as the Queen. Next , she is
given a bath and starts to scream like she is being tortured, this is because she has never had to be
washed up because she lived in such a poor place before. Now , everyone around her must use proper
language all the time so that she will know to never break this habit of using slang and sounds to
speak with people. Eliza s father ; Alfred Doolittle now enters the play , the main reason is because he
wants to get money out of Mr.Higgins. He doesn t seem to care about his daughter s welfare , only
himself. He views himself as a member of the undeserving poor, and means to go on being
undeserving. With his intelligent mind and not having much of an education, he has an eccentric view
of life. He is also aggressive, and when Eliza, sticks her tongue out at him, he goes to hit her, but gets
stopped by Pickering (The closest thing Pygmalion has to a father figure. He s a genial

Fashion Keg Parties
Physics is used in everyday activities even when the typical college kid is taking a break from class by
attending a bonfire or a house party to blow off steam. Yes, I m talking about those good ol fashion
keg parties that everyone seems to believe are the general college night out. You see, physics is at
work from the first beer can opened to the last keg stand before the blackout, but it is also acting when
the keg is tapped.
Kegs come in many shapes and sizes and there are no real measurements as far as weight and amount
of alcohol. That means that the physics of all kegs can be different. From lifting one to rolling it to
having the ability to balance on your arms above it, some kegs are just easier to commit adolescent
indecencies then others. Still all kegs are basically the same in the way of how they work.
There is one opening on the top of the keg and a hose that runs to the bottom of the keg called the
spear. There is also a self closing valve that has enough tension to hold itself against the unpressured
fluid in the barrel of alcohol. This in some cases will have another hose coming off of it with a spigot
or could just have a normal spout from which the contents will run until the pressure is relieved or the
valve is physically closed. When the tap is inserted into the keg and pumped in pushes air or other
gases of your choice into the keg putting the contents under pressure. Depending on the gas used and
the amount of fluid in the keg you may need to drink

Compare And Contrast Virginia And New England Colonies
In the New World, various resources, climates, and considerable amounts of land allowed numerous
opportunities for settlers. Those who once yearned to climb the social ladder or gain the freedoms
bestowed from land ownership flocked toward the newfound settlements. Colonization proved to be a
grueling task; however, success was found after adapting to the new environment and facing many
hardships. Two colonies established early in the seventeenth century included Virginia and New
England. Both Virginia and New England were forerunning settlements that differed in the following
senses: political, social, and economical. Politically, Virginia and New England differed in the basis of
their governing systems. Virginia focused on the desire of its individuals: (t)hat our governors by
reason of the corruption of those times they lived in, laid the foundation of our wealth and industry on
the vices of men. This standard of government was an early precursor to democracy and allowed
Virginian s to feel the rights of being freemen. New England, instead of basing their government on
the individual desires of man, governed the colony on the basis of Christianity. The New England
settlers strongly believed the spirit of God would deliver them and create greatness in the colony: the
God of Israel is among us, and ten of us shall be able to resist a thousand of our enemies. The Lord
will make our name a praise and glory. The colony wanted to be set above the rest, or in other words,

Redemption In A Christmas Carol
Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol presents to the reader the transformation of an egotistic, miserable
man, named Ebenezer Scrooge, to a compassionate and merrier elderly who finds the true perception
of Christmas. Good afternoon, my name is Hayley Harris Organ; I am here before you to address the
importance of studying the humorous yet stern approach to Scrooge s plight in the novella A
Christmas Carol. This short novel acknowledges the threat of holding a selfish life. The author makes
a clear reference to greed, cost on fate and redemption in the text.
Dickens has accredited greed in the course of his novel and discusses Scrooge as a covetous old
sinner. Scrooge believed that poverty could be avoided by hard work and claims that the prisons ...

He expresses change and vows to become a better person. Pg. 116 He became as good a friend, as
good a master, and as good a man, as the good old city knew... Some people laughed to see the
alternation in him, but he let them laugh... His own heart laughed; and that was quite enough for him.
The technique used is repetition to emphasize Scrooge s transformation. Scrooge repents selfishness
of his way of life and devotes to have a charitable heart and live his life fulfilled with joy and
surrounded by people. Page 110 shows an example of personification, I will honour Christmas in my
heart and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the past, the present and the future. The spirits of all
Three shall strive within me. Scrooge repents the selfish life he once invested in when he realised that
being a miser caused him to miss out on the most important and pleasurable part of living.
A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens is a compelling tale of greed, love and charity. Studying this
short novel at school is necessary because it concedes the threats of holding and leading a selfish life
and how acting greedy is notorious on your fate and your perspective of life. Through his
representation of Scrooge, Dickens wants the reader to learn from his miserable personality and
encourages others

  • 2. Why Do Students Should Participate In Music Programs Today, many schools focus on preparing their students for their lives beyond the classrooms. They do so by focusing their limited resources on programs that they deem necessary for a proper education. Furthermore, when schools make cut backs, music programs are one of the first to be terminated. Ironically, music embodies many of the subjects that are not eliminated: mathematics, history, science, reading, etc. Music requires self discipline, accountability, and teamwork: traits that most employers seek in young applicants. Students should participate in music programs because they foster cognitive development, inspire teamwork, and encourage students to adapt a solid work ethic. • 3. Theme Of Ammu In The God Of Small Things The novel The God of Small Things, by Arundhati Roy follows the story of the Ipe family. Set in Ayemenem, India, this novel deals with issues of racism and prejudice relating to the caste system. The character of Ammu is in the middle of the caste system and the issues of the love laws. Ammu s family considers her to be somewhat of an outcast because she is divorced and friends with an untouchable man, Velutha. Ammu s relationship with her family causes her to break the love laws and thus condemning her to isolation. The Ipe families dysfunctionality left Ammu alone to fend for herself. The displacement of these individuals or migrants form their home lands not only causes severe socioeconomic strains on the nations of Syria and Libya on top of the current political conflict, but it also afflicts the resources and politics of the nations these individuals migrate to in order to escape the current conflict. Tusk and other European PM s have been under fire by some of international community and some other European nations whilst reaching a deal between the EU and Turkey in response to the sizable amount of refugees crossing the Mediterranean Sea between Turkey and Greece, which has been coined at the most dangerous route, taking countless number of refugee lives. The alternative route include passage through various EU nations, leaving the possibility to lose track of migrants, not only providing false data in terms of logistics of migrants traveling to and from their country of origin, but also contributing to an uneven allocation of resources for the nation where these individuals end up, potentially causing a shortage of assets to appropriately manage the amount of refugees ... Many wonder if it is ethical to use genetic information to alter natural processes of procreation to give people the best genes they can get. There are already ways to predict the presence of a genetic disease in a child based on the parents and in vivo testing. Eugenics is increasing the number of genes in the human population responsible for improving intelligence, beauty, musical ability and other traits we value (Munson, 2012 272 273) Eugenics is often confused to just be for consideration of the parents and the child. (Savulescu 295). This definition suggests that people have a moral obligation to choose what is best for their child based on what they know. He argues that there is a way to select from a large range of possible children people could have; most commonly, this is done by using fetal selection through prenatal testing and termination of pregnancy (Savulescu 296). Technology is already in place for procreative beneficence , it just needs to be utilized properly. He is not arguing for the positive selection of traits that will correspond to those that result in a better life. When he presents the example of testing for the genetic predisposition for poor memory, he suggests that there is a positive obligation to test for memory profiles if the results of poor memory are horrible (298). Savulescu seems to support the idea of a decent life, but not the best life possible for all traits. The boundaries about what defines intelligence are still vague, but plato claims that life is a mixture of wisdom and pleasure (Savulescu 298). These factors need to be balanced, and if there is a genetic code that selects for these traits, Savulescu would likely support them being chosen. There are a few ethical problems with ... Katherine Philips and Ben Jonson were two poets who implemented the elegiac form in Orinda Upon Little Hector Philips , On My First Son , and On My First Daughter respectively. Although Philips and Jonson s elegies contain obvious similarities regarding the nature of the works, the differences between the approaches taken to mourn their children are quite contrasting. These differences may be reduced to the emotions displayed in the elegies, which may be considered reflective of the sex of either of the poets and their religious beliefs. Of the two poets, Philip s moves farther away from the consoling nature that religion provides for Jonson. Philips s elegy is raw with the emotion of a grieving mother who cannot seem to find consolation in the world. She got a taste of what she wanted: she [saw] him and then he disappeared (Philips 5). Orinda Upon Little Hector Philips is best illustrated as a mother s progression through her grief. It begins with Philips being robbed of her son the first stanza, the second stanza has a sense of disbelief, in the third stanza the pain of her son s death seems to engulf her, in the fourth stanza Philips grief is detached from those around her, and the final stanza enforces a type of grudging acceptance that this is the last of her unhappy...verse (Philips 20). Normally, the end of unhappy...verse (Philips 20) would signify the return of a happy verse, but this is not what Philips is implying. She will cease to write due to her seemingly unending unhappiness. Through this maternal perspective there is seemingly a stronger connection between the poet and the lost child. • 11. Angry Black Woman Stereotype Analysis The primary issue of this article lies in the perpetuation of the angry black woman stereotype. The angry black woman stereotype can be seen as an extension of the matriarch and sapphire stereotypes, both derivative of the dominant ideology of the slave era that was created to maintain black women s subordination. The matriarch stereotype is presented as a domineering, aggressive, masculine, and fiercely independent black woman whose forceful nature emasculates and demoralizes black men to the point that they abandon their families (Newsome, 37). This image functions to devalue, exploit, and subjugate African American women through an idealized wielding of power that is in no way supported by the actual power structures of America (Newsome, ... This stereotype has permeated American society for decades and continues to influence the world s view of black women through television, cinema, and virtually every other form of media. Anger is a universal emotion that is experienced throughout the lifespan of every person, yet it is often seen as a definitive aspect of black women s personalities and identities as human beings. Behaving in an assertive and outspoken manner would usually be seen as a reflection of strength and intelligence, but for black women, it is viewed as trenchant and domineering (Walley Jean, 69). Patient centered care is of utmost importance in today?s healthcare landscape. Therefore, management must not view change as a threat, but as a challenge to do something new and innovative (Marquis, B., Huston, C., 2015). Problem My hospital is receiving a lot of negative feedback from patient surveys. The reason for this (I think) is because we are unable to maintain an adequate number of qualified nursing assistants (NA) in the medical surgical unit. NAs provide much of the ?hands on? care to patients and are a major asset to nurses. Without NAs, nurses would not be able to provide adequate, quality care to patients. As we are constantly exposed to mass media and popular culture in our modern society, the insidious nature of consumerism has allowed it to penetrate into every aspect of our lives, dictating our very beliefs, values and wants. Nearly every individual in our society subconsciously conforms to the shallow and superficial mindset that characterises our consumerist culture. On her deathbed, instead of turning to a traditional faith or religion, she has instead turned to commercialism and consumerism, highlighting the fact that consumerism has become more relevant and important than traditional religions, especially to the younger generations. In the first stanza the first three lines starting with Full volume up on the celestial choir! serve to cheapen her death and turn it instead into some sort of a production. Clark Sugata Racial Inequality and Justice Justice is a term that should not only prefer to different portions of distribution, but also to the institutional conditions to develop individual capabilities, as well as cooperative communication. Under this conception of justice, many people in the U.S. consider disciplinary justice as an appropriate approach to sustain social order. However, it seems like there are more chances that the minorities are targets of the inequality in justice system, especially in socio economic and political problems. Even if people of color were fully distributed in the capitalist hierarchy like white people, racism is still a big problem of the inequality system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the National Center for Access to Justice (2015), a network of pro bono legal service providers representing the poor has arisen to address the need of justice gap, but more than half of those who seek help are turned away, as a result of unavailable adequate public funds and private donations. By reducing the pro bono law firms, legislators indirectly thrust the poor into lack access of finding qualified attorneys to represent themselves in bureaucratic proceedings. Rhode (2005) suggests that in order to maintain the fairness of American justice, we need to press reforms in political institutions, which has deep ideological and structural roots (p. 126). Those reforms include, but not limited to, the distribution of legal self help materials, the procedures of resolving disputes without lawyers or court hearings, the expansion of pro bono services, and the adequate funding of legal aid agencies (Rhode, 2005, p. 126 134). Even though our laws can policies can change over time, I believe Rhode s suggestions on reforms may have some involved complications due to the lack of political actions, civil disobedience, and direct actions. • 20. The Radio Frequency Identification ( Rfid ) Introduction As technology advances, businesses use technology to improve the efficiency of their operations. Such is the case with the Radio frequency identification (RFID) in the health care industry. These devices are very affordable to acquire and are currently used to track resources, patients, doctors and expensive equipment. RFID helps with the collection of information for patients with lack of communication or people with serious conditions. (Hu, 2015) With hospitals finding different way to attract new patients in, these devices also help hospitals save money on the management side to keep them afloat. This advanced technology has great potential to improve patient experience in healthcare by taking away human error out of the equation. Literature Review RFID uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attach to objects. These tags contain electronically stored information. The information can be read by RFID readers and can only be read if they are within the line of sight of the reader. There are two types or RFID tags; passive and active. Passive RFID relies on RF energy transferred from the reader to the tag to power the tag. Active RFID uses an internal power source, such as a battery within the tag to continuously power the tag and its RF communication circuitry. The information is transfer efficiently and automatically without human intervention. (Yao, 2012) RFIDs can be used the 5 areas that are considered to be where ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When you think of technology you mostly think about how it has helped advance our lives, but may never consider its negatives. The media is a huge aspect of how we shape our society. In the book Amusing Ourselves to Death by Neil Postman he shows his concern for how this all can effect as as a people. He does this by using three popular persuasive literary devices to help convey his message to the reader. The three devices being: Pathos, Logos and Ethos. All of these are used many times throughout the book, with their own effects. Logos, is the appeal to logic. When using this device you are using logical reasoning to help appeal to the reader. This also includes pulling facts, statics and citing other credible sources to use. The next one is Ethos, which is showing that the author is a credible source, and is well aware of what he is talking about. Lastly is Pathos, this is when you appeal to one s emotion to get their attention. In this book Postman does a very good job of using all of these devices. Postman was able to incorporate all three of these devices into his book, but the most prominent one in my opinion is, and that helps to best convey Postman s point is Logos. Logos is using logics and facts. Two things you very rarely can fight against. Over and over Postman uses facts on how the media is basically dumbing us down. An example would be ... Sodium bicarbonates, glass beads of small grain size and dolomite are used for cleaning and polishing purpose. The selection of abrasive material depends on the work material, machining operation and required material removal rate. The size of the material is also important. The material removal rate (MRR) depends on the grain size. The coarse grains give high MRR, and they are recommended for cutting. The finer grains are useful in finishing operation. However, as society has progressed, these beliefs have been seen as naïve and foolish. Nevertheless, superstition was a major part in Roman life and thus William Shakespeare uses superstition and the supernatural in his play Julius Caesar. Superstition and the supernatural held great importance in the time of Caesar and often influenced the decisions people made. The soothsayer also develops Caesar as arrogant and proud. Caesar choosing between superstitious events also shows and develops his arrogance. Finally, Brutus seeing Caesar s ghost is again another example of foreshadowing as the ghost predicts the death of Brutus, which again progresses the plot. The event also shows that Brutus is second guessing his decision of betraying Caesar. Superstition and the supernatural made Julius Caesar what it was, a play full of fateful decisions. The article titled, Let s Make A Slave, was depressing because it almost forced one to go back in time and feel the plight of Africans Americans before slavery was outlawed. William Lynch traveled a great ways to inform the people of the Virginia Colony about slavery and how it should truly be done. As I was reading, it seemed as though William Lynch was reading the instructions for a product (and not a human being) but he actually was talking about people (African Americans). The speech that he prepared was delivered was so much conviction that it made it very hard to believe that African Americans could have been treated any other way. The Europeans (during slavery) did not respect Black people and regarded to them as uncivilized niggers (The Black Arcade Liberation Library, 1970,p2) and sought nothing more than to treat them like the money making machines they were. During the speech, William Lynch was talking about several topics that are still lingering today (certain aspects have been passed down from generation to generation). For instance, African American males were used to breed and once that job was done they were immediately separated from their family (leaving the mother to raise the negro child). The slave owners sought to pin the dark skinned Blacks against the light skinned Blacks and this was to ensure that there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Keats identifies the three shadows in the third stanza labeling them as love, who was a maid, ambition, pale and watchful and the last of the three shadows being poesy, which the speaker identifies as his demon as well as his love. He shows his love individually for each of them as well as his dislike that they are there to take away his peaceful summer, a metaphor that represents that warm weather is about to disappear, or that a vacation is coming to an end. The fourth stanza represents the speaker s sudden will for the maidens, as they were all he wanted, until he decides on reasons as to why he may not need them. This only happens after the speaker addresses that they faded, and, forsooth, I wanted wings! • 40. Essay on Growing Up Poor Growing up Poor I did not realize until about the 5th grade, what being poor was all about. From kindergarten until then, kids didn t really pay attention to what you wore to school, what type of home you lived in, or what your parents did for a living. What mattered was how nice you were, that you shared your toys, and took turns on the playground. Fifth grade started a whole new chapter in life. It started with a new school with both familiar and unfamiliar faces and with that, new challenges that included trying to fit in with your peers. Not until I started getting questions like, You get free lunch? How? or being stared at while standing in the free lunch line as it was called in school, did I realize that I was different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I had to go to school for that. I was about seven years old when I got my first big lesson. I was in love with a little girl named Helene Tucker, a light complexioned little girl with pigtails and nice manners. She was always clean and she was smart in school. I think I went to school then mostly to look at her. I brushed my hair and even got me a little old handkerchief. It was a lady s handkerchief, but I didn t want Helene to see me wipe my nose on my hand. The pipes were frozen again, there was no water in the house, but I washed my socks and shirt every night. I d get a pot, and go over to Mister Ben s grocery store, and stick my pot down into his soda machine and scoop out some chopped ice. By evening the ice melted to water for washing. I got sick a lot that winter because the fire would go out at night before the clothes were dry. In the morning I d put them on, wet or dry, because they were the only clothes I had. Everybody s got a Helene Tucker, a symbol of everything you want. I loved her for her goodness, her cleanness, her popularity. She d walk down my street and my brothers and sisters would yell, Here comes Helene, and I d rub my tennis sneakers on the back of my pants and wish my hair wasn t so nappy and the white folks shirt fit me better. I d run out on the street. If I knew my place and didn t come too close, she d wink at me and say hello. That was a good feeling. Sometimes I d follow her all the way home, and shovel the snow off her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Geostationary Satellite Essay Optimizing the Bands in Geostationary Satellite Internet When it comes to each of the three main bands, the Ka band, the Ku band, and the L band, we know that since they have a range of different frequencies, they can therefore be optimized to work more efficiently. This can be done by three other important characteristics. These would be bandwidth, the power of the signals used, and the quality of the data transmission. The bandwidth can be utilized where there is currently outdated hardware such as the modem or the receiver on a ground satellite or a geostationary satellite. When it comes to the power of the signal, this can be increased which would help in the sending and receiving of data. Finally, to improve the quality of the data, ... Geostationary Satellite Internet Airline speed On the flip side, the satellite internet provided in airlines is still slower than what the wired counterpart offers. This was apparent in 2008 when one of the first Wi Fi s used on an airline had an initial speed of 3 Mb which worked for that time. However, with the current technology of smart phones and tablets, the demand for greater speeds is needed in order for passengers to be able to use these devices efficiently. Today, speeds for geostationary satellite internet on airlines are around 12 Mbps, which is better than before but, still not as quick as wired internet. The price of the geostationary satellite internet is still increasing but this is mainly due to the hardware associated with having a stable connection. This is including but not limited to the antennas that increase the drag and this in turn increases fuel costs for airlines. Adding on engineering costs along with maintenance, these add up which the passengers of the airlines end up paying extra for ( How does in flight Wi Fi work?, 2017). Geostationary Satellite Internet and Portability Users who are in certain organizations such as the Red Cross rely on an internet connect for GPS and accessing the World Wide Web. Thanks to current advances in technology for geostationary satellite internet, these organization can use a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The statue was so beautiful that he prayed to the gods it would be brung to life , his wish was granted. Have you ever had to learn how to speak fluently, in a brand new language that you are not used to ? This is one of many problems for a flower girl Eliza Doolittle. In this story Professor Henry Higgins makes a bet that he would get her to pass for a duchess at an ambassador s garden party by teaching her to assume a veneer of gentility , the most important element of which, he thinks, is impeccable speech. • 43. Fashion Keg Parties Physics is used in everyday activities even when the typical college kid is taking a break from class by attending a bonfire or a house party to blow off steam. Yes, I m talking about those good ol fashion keg parties that everyone seems to believe are the general college night out. You see, physics is at work from the first beer can opened to the last keg stand before the blackout, but it is also acting when the keg is tapped. Kegs come in many shapes and sizes and there are no real measurements as far as weight and amount of alcohol. That means that the physics of all kegs can be different. From lifting one to rolling it to having the ability to balance on your arms above it, some kegs are just easier to commit adolescent indecencies then others. Still all kegs are basically the same in the way of how they work. There is one opening on the top of the keg and a hose that runs to the bottom of the keg called the spear. There is also a self closing valve that has enough tension to hold itself against the unpressured fluid in the barrel of alcohol. This in some cases will have another hose coming off of it with a spigot or could just have a normal spout from which the contents will run until the pressure is relieved or the valve is physically closed. When the tap is inserted into the keg and pumped in pushes air or other gases of your choice into the keg putting the contents under pressure. Depending on the gas used and the amount of fluid in the keg you may need to drink ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Compare And Contrast Virginia And New England Colonies In the New World, various resources, climates, and considerable amounts of land allowed numerous opportunities for settlers. Those who once yearned to climb the social ladder or gain the freedoms bestowed from land ownership flocked toward the newfound settlements. Colonization proved to be a grueling task; however, success was found after adapting to the new environment and facing many hardships. Two colonies established early in the seventeenth century included Virginia and New England. Both Virginia and New England were forerunning settlements that differed in the following senses: political, social, and economical. Politically, Virginia and New England differed in the basis of their governing systems. Virginia focused on the desire of its individuals: (t)hat our governors by reason of the corruption of those times they lived in, laid the foundation of our wealth and industry on the vices of men. This standard of government was an early precursor to democracy and allowed Virginian s to feel the rights of being freemen. New England, instead of basing their government on the individual desires of man, governed the colony on the basis of Christianity. The New England settlers strongly believed the spirit of God would deliver them and create greatness in the colony: the God of Israel is among us, and ten of us shall be able to resist a thousand of our enemies. The Lord will make our name a praise and glory. The colony wanted to be set above the rest, or in other words, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Redemption In A Christmas Carol Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol presents to the reader the transformation of an egotistic, miserable man, named Ebenezer Scrooge, to a compassionate and merrier elderly who finds the true perception of Christmas. Some people laughed to see the alternation in him, but he let them laugh... His own heart laughed; and that was quite enough for him. The technique used is repetition to emphasize Scrooge s transformation. Scrooge repents selfishness of his way of life and devotes to have a charitable heart and live his life fulfilled with joy and surrounded by people.
