What Were The Causes Of The Edwardian War
In 476 C.E. the Roman Emporers in the west were defeated by the Germans. The Romans were in
serious trouble. This meant that the Romans and their church were in trouble from Western Europe
state. Charlemagne s crowning made the Byzantine Emperor doubted them, and relations between
the East and the West deteriorated until a formal split occurred in 1054. The Eastern Church
became the Greek Orthodox Church by causing all ties with Rome and the Roman Catholic Church
from the popeto the Holy Roman Emperor on down. The Hundred Years War was a series of
conflicts waged from 1337 to 1453 by the House of Plantagenet, rulers of the Kingdom of England,
against the House of Valois, rulers of the Kingdom of France, for control of the latter kingdom....

The war marked both the height of chivalry and its decline, and the development of strong
national identities in both countries. Historians commonly divided the war into three phases
separated by truces the Edwardian Era War the Caroline War and the Lancastrian War . Conflicts
in the near areas, which were directly related to this conflict, included the War of the Breton
Succession the Castilian Civil War the War of the Two Peters in Aragon, and the Crisis in
Portugal. Later historians invented the term Hundred Years War as a memory to keep memories
of all these events, though constructing the longest military conflict in history. These facts lead
up on how the fight of misconfusion between the state and the state even started.By proximity of
blood, the nearest male relative of Charles IV was his nephew Edward III of England. Edward
was the son of Isabella, the sister of the dead Charles IV, but the question arose whether she should
be able to transmit a right to inherit that she did not herself possess. The French nobility, moreover,
balked at the prospect of being ruled by the English

Reflection Of Cooperative Learning
An important skill for students to develop in school is collaboration. During this course, I learned
more in depth knowledge about students working with others within a concept called cooperative
learning. Cooperative learning is one of three goal structures associated with motivation. The three
structures are cooperative, competitive, and individualistic. Though all three are used to motivate
students to achieve goals, I believe cooperative is the most ideal goal structure for student
development. Cooperative learninginvolves putting student in groups for a lesson and requiring all
students to succeed in order for any one individual to earn rewards. This strategy enforces
individual accountability for each child to complete their share... Show more content on

As a future educator, I want my own students to have those same experiences that I have had and
cooperative learning is a perfect way to motivate the development of collaborative skills.
The fifth and final concept I found to be enlightening throughout the semester was the concept of
divergent thinking versus convergent thinking. Divergent thinking is a type of thinking, whose
goal is to come up with numerous unique and original ideas. One of the most common aspects of
divergent thinking is brainstorming. This is frequently used within school and many other
domains in order to come up with a large amount of ideas or topics at once. To contrast,
convergent thinking is a type of thinking that focuses on finding a specific answer. Convergent
thinking is used for situations where there is only one answer such as how many presidents there
have been or how many states there are in America. Divergent thinking is more often used for
open ended questions or to come up with completely new ideas. Divergent thinking is also a
method of thinking that enhances student creativity. When in the midst of divergent thinking, a
person is supposed to defer their judgment of ideas until later and create the most off the wall
ideas possible. I especially enjoyed learning about divergent and convergent thinking because I had
not realized there were various types of thinking. I had believed people could decide to be creative

Are Humans Inherently Evil In Lord Of The Flies
Statement of intent: I am going to write a persuasive essay about how humans are born evil and
are conditioned by society to act civilised, using Lord of the Flies and Goldings idea that humans
are inherently evil, as well as current and historical events to expand on these ideas. The greatest
trick the devil pulled was convincing the world that there is only one of him David Wong. The
critically acclaimed novel Lord of the Flies written by Nobel Prize winning author William Golding
explores the idea that humans are inherently evil, among other ideas such as the loss of innocence,
civilisation versus savagery and much more. Golding portrayed the idea that humans are inherently
evil through the masterful use of symbols and motifs. In the... Show more content on

World War II was the setting for some of the most horrific atrocities man has ever committed.
Events including the Holocaust, concentration camps, atomic bombings and many more were
the cause of over 80,000,000 deaths, which at the time was about 3% of the world s population.
The acts of Hitler and the Nazi party in the war were acts of pure evil. Hitler can be directly
compared to Jack from Lord of the Flies as Jack s leadership was based purely on striking fear
into others. He made people believe that if they didn t join him he would hunt and kill them.
Hitler s leadership also followed some of this vicious dictating. Another example of Golding s
idea that humans are inherently evil was the murder of James Patrick Bulger. James who was
murdered on the 12th of February 1993 at the age of two. He was abducted, tortured and
murdered by two ten year old boys, Robert Thompson and Jon Venables. The mere facts the two
murderers were of such a young age and came from such good families is a perfect example of
humans are inherently evil and that evil is not taught or learnt, it is simply a part of

Congressional Era Of Reconstruction During Post Civil War...
Failure is simply an opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.
Henry Ford. This was the Southern optimist s view of what the results of post Civil War
Reconstruction could be. Unfortunately, once the Congressional era of Reconstruction began, this
view was squandered under federal punishment of the South. This policy led to strained relations
between Congress and the ex Confederate states. The difference of opinion was over how harshly
the South should be punished for leaving the Union. The South wanted to be readmitted with as
little friction as possible, so they sided with the Democrats, like Robert E. Lee, and Moderate
Republicans. Congress on the other hand, being mostly controlled by Radical Republicans, believed

One explicit difference of policy was over the use of troops to put the South into military
districts that were under martial law and putting Northern Generals over Southern troops. As
historian S. Chase said in the Democratic National Committee of 1873 There should have been
as little military government as possible. This policy was even more harshly debated because
these troops were there to enforce a law that the Southerners were not ever able to vote on until
they were forced to vote for it if they wanted to rejoin the United States, which they had to do
because they lost the Civil War. This force, both physically and ideologically, seemed very out of
place in a country that claimed to be the land of the free, and even more out of place since it was a
Democracy. This ideological difference between Southerners and Congress has been a major point
of contention in discussions about Reconstruction policy since it was put into practice.
Another point of policy disagreement can be seen in how representation in the South would be
handled. In accordance with Congressional Reconstruction, certain classes of ex Confederates,
such as the class that Robert E. Lee was in, were excluded from being granted their suffrage . This
was an outrage to Southerners for two reasons. The first is that the certain classes being exempted
from regaining their suffrage were the highest part of the upper class and the people of high rank
from the ex Confederate

Unit 1 Assignment 2 Biometrics
This report started with a motivational empirical study of the usability, security, and privacy of
enhanced fingerprint authentication as compared to password based authentication. This study
revealed that the password based authentication lacks usability and security, while the privacy
enhanced fingerprint authenticationis more usable than password based authentication. However
fingerprint data on the cloud poses a greater likelihood for attacks. A risk assessment was
conducted to evaluate the adequacy of controls available to mitigate the risks. Based on a
threshold set for the residual risk, a roadmap was established to close the gap on the lack of controls.
The solutions presented in the report have an edge over different models. The reason is that, once
an attacker obtains access to a unique finger impression template, he can claim to be a validated
client. Yet,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anonymous authentication at some point was good but it declined in the recent years. The last
known published research on anonymous authentication for biometrics is dated back in 2008.
Anonymous authentication can be considered as a good approach on the cloud. With a new mind
set and tools available, new innovative framework can be created.
Two of the upcoming works are as follows:
9.2Biometric data hiding in IPv6
The Internet Protocol (IP) has some vulnerability that can be exploited to transfer information along
the network by being anonymous. Some attempts have been made using IPv4 but now since IPv6
is the new mode of network the challenge is to design it to fit the new trend.
9.3QR Code biometrics

become a worldwide phenomenon among online stores. Its complicated matrix is an innovative
method to hide data among the grey area. This grey area can be used to transfer biometrics across

Taking A Look At The Sainsbury Corporation

initiation has affected its leadership style and the treatment of employees in its corporation. The
online shopping initiated by the corporation is basically done for the comfort of the consumers, in
order to provide them the opportunity to shop from their homes and not come to the store for their
purchases. However, this has created a certain bad environment with the employees as some of the
employees are not in favour of this new initiation. The research study will utilise the secondary
research as well as the primary research as its methodology in order to understand the topic with

the corporation provides approximately 1.1 million deliveries to stores every year. On an
average, 23.7 million cases are delivered to stores each week; whilst 30 million cases in a week

The Tragedy Of World War II By Siegfried Sassoon
throughout History, a major tragedy caused the world to become chaotic, which lead to millions
of brave individuals to lose their life. This horrific tragedy, World War 1 (the Great War), was
the beginning of a long terrible journey. Many strong and mighty men volunteered to join the
War with the persuasion of being Hero s . These men did not realize the terror they would face
when walking into this journey. Many soldiers were faced with seeing their fellow soldiers cold
blood drip from their aching bodies, their loving eyes becoming raged with anger by the
conditions of their sleeping arrangements, and their hopes of ever returning home or being a
normal human being was wiped clean. This was the beginning of a major change in the lives of
all individuals throughout the world. Before the War, many soldierss mindsets was that this war
would turn them into hero s and men . A poet, Siegfried Sassoon, wrote the famous poem They ,
explained, The Bishop (authority) tells us: when the boys come back/ they will not be the same
(1 2). These lines symbolizes how many or all soldiers were encouraged to join the War because
they will come out a better individual, and everyone will look up to them. Many of these fellow
soldiers entered the war singing, but suddenly realized the words given by an authority figure was
all wrong, which led them to trust no one. So, before the war men were chosen to fight and given
the encouragement of becoming a hero, then the view of the war

Qing China And Russia Essay
Both Qing China (1644 1912) and Russia (882 Present) collapsed because of external and internal
factors such as failing government, social problems, and political conflict within the land based
empires. Internal Factors in Russia and China were causing decline because people in Russia were
losing faith in the Romanov s, their leaders at the time, while Mao Zedong was trying to establish a

Japan invading China ultimately caused the collapse in China.

Haemoglobin Synthesis
In order for haemoglobin to be made from the base sequence provided, protein sysnthesis needs to
occur. Consequently, two major events are involved; transcription, which makes messenger RNA
(mRNA) that holds the codons that tRNA will translate into amino acids and eventually a
polypeptide; and transcription, which makes polypetide chains that make proteins. In relation the
hameglobin structure, the DNA(base sequence provided) partially unwinds, so it can be read. RNA
polymerase enzymes attach onto the promoter reigon of the gene. The RNA polymerase assists in
the complementray base pairing of free ribonucleotides with exposed bases of the template strand
of DNA. Therefore, new hyrdogen bonds will be formed between the bases of DNA and the newly
formed RNA molecule. When the RNA polymerase reaches the terminal reigon of the gene,
hydrogen bonds break of and a newly formed mRNA strand C A U C U A A C C C C A G A G G
A G is created.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With that being said, this mRNA sequence codes for six codons and six amino acids. After the
creation of mRNA, proteins need to be made in order to make hameglobin, through translation.
The mRNA strand exits the nucleus and attaches onto a ribosominal sub unit, within the
cytoplasm. Every three letters, which code for one amino acid is read, as the mRNA strand
flows through the ribomsomes. Once the mRNA is positioned properly in the ribosomal sub
uint, it triggers the approach for tRNA. Each tRNA (anti codon) brings one amino acid and
complentary binds it with the mRNA codon. The tRNA will then drop off its amio acids, which
will be attached onto the growing polypeptide chain. Once the polypeptide chain has gained all the
needed amino acids for new protein, it will break of the ribosome and make its way to the
endoplasmic reticulum. Later on these amino acids will combine and create a hemoglobin protein

Women Across The World Encounter Stereotypes
Women across the world encounter stereotypes. In the United States, our biggest stereotype has to
do with women s physical appearance, it is frowned upon to be overweight and to have curves. The
United States is seen as a modern country and the idea of a domestic household during the upraise
of the Feminist Movement during the 1960s 70s. That is the struggle that India is going through
currently. Instead of going with the wave of the new movement towards modernization, half of the
country is oppressing it and the other half is embracing it. The World Before Her is a documentary
over the two separate paths of two young women that are at the heart of the transitioning of their
country. One young womanhas hopes to become a model and win the nationally known pageant
Miss India which is equivalent to Miss America. The second young woman is the exact
opposite. She is tomboyish, she will kill to keep her countries values as well as train other
young girls to hold the same values as she does. The documentary was made to target the eye of
people like you and I, it is a prime example of the best of both worlds. The people of India may
benefit from seeing this film because it shows how their country is struggling with the preservation
of their culture but on the other hand, Americans may feel offended because the Indians that are
interviewed make it seem as though being modern is a bad thing. Modernization is not a bad thing,
without it, people will not be able to adapt to their

Australian Family Law
The aim of Australia s family law while responding the ever changing values of society, is to
achieve justice in any activity it undertakes. The success of this is valued and determined by
whether any significant action has been taken as a result, and what the effects of such actions are
on improving the situations of all parties involved. The effectiveness of familylaw on changing
values cannot be determined when regarded as a whole. However, when broken down into certain
values, such as in the topic of best interest of the child during separation and the issue of surrogacy,
it can be seen that Australia s family laws are not effective in levelling with the community s
changing values.

The procedures of surrogacy is a delicate and sensitive topic which raises many concerns in the
public. As a result of this, Australian laws and courts of law must allow and regulate these
practices to make it safe for all involved. Commercial forms of surrogacy agreements are illegal
in most states, shown in Part 2, Division 2 in the Surrogacy Act 2010 NSW and Chapter 4 Part 1
in the Surrogacy Act Qld. However, in remaining jurisdictions, couples are allowed to deal in
commercial agreements and therefore often turn to an overseas arrangement. It is here where
Australian law becomes more obscure and less regulated. In any arrangement including altruistic
surrogacy, there are no enforceable laws on the agreement, hence prompting multiple issues
regarding the parentage of the child. When the child is born from the gestational carrier the birth
mother and father, according to the Status of the Children Act 1996, are the legal parents. It is
when the intended parents apply for a parenting order and accepted by the birth mother that the
child s parentage is transferred this situation is set out in the case of Re Michael

Physiological Response To Exercise Analysis
Marathon running has been associated with a number of physiological lapses that occurs when the
body and the organs can no longer sustain itself. Specifically ultra marathon running especially in
the heat. Exercise in the heat is a physiologically challenging for the function of the cardiovascular
(GonzГЎlez Alonso Calbet 2003), thermoregulatory system (Johnson 2010; GonzГЎlez Alonso et
al. 2008; GonzГЎlez Alonso 2012). Thus exposure to prolonged exercise in the heat that increases

that NO plays a vital role within the coronary and the peripheral hemodynamic by increasing the

therefore reduces the physiological responses to exercise. Specifically NO has been reported to
assist in the thermoregulation system, by increasing the blood flow and muscle contractibility and

Elizabethan London Essay
Elizabethan London
From 1558 1603, Queen Elizabeth I was the ruler of England. This time period is known as the
Elizabethan Era, or The Golden Age, as this was the time of the expansion of creativity and
originality. In London during this time, many changes and advancements were taking place that
would soon set out in areas all across the regions and soon spreading across the world. The
advancements in science, the international expansion, the protestant reformation, and the works of
William Shakespeare and his contribution to the flowering of the arts were a few of the
fundamental changes that helped alter the history of the world that followed Elizabethan London.
Elizabethan London was the home to many advancements made to the scientific community. The
part it played in the developments of science paved the way for the scientific revolution that came
in the next era. While there were many important men in the era who contributed greatly to
science, such as Nicolaus Copernicus, Galileo Galilei, and Johannes Kepler, there were some
other forerunners of the scientific revolution. Two of those men were William Gilbert and Francis
Bacon. William Gilbert was an English physician who practiced in London for thirty years. In the
words of John Gribbin, author of The Fellowship, [Gilbert] deserves pride of place in any account
of the scientific revolution of the seventeenth century, because he was the first person to set out

What he wants is his dream, and that dream is embodied
in Daisy. Ironically, Daisy Buchanan, is a much more realistic, hard
headed character. She understands money and what it means in American
society, because it his her nature; she was born into it. Gatsby
intuitively recognizes this, although he cannot fully accept it, when he
remarks to Nick that Daisy s voice is full of money. Gatsby will not
admit this essential fact because it would destroy his understanding of
Daisy. In the end, this willful blindness helps lead to his ultimate
tragedy.
Gatsby is a romantic, a man who began with a high and exalted
vision of himself and his destiny. He aspires to greatness, which he
associates with Daisy. If he can win her, then he will have somehow
achieved his goal. Gatsby s wealth, his mansion, his parties, his
possessions, even his heroism in battle are but means to achieve his
ultimate goal. Gatsby is mistaken, however, in his belief that money can
buy happiness or that he can recapture his past if he only becomes rich.
One of these examples is when the epigraph becomes clear: the four line

describes exactly what Gatsby has done. He has symbolically worn the gold

Criticism Of Quicksand
Quicksand: A constant search for a satisfactory life
The time period that the fiction sets is the 1920s, when the society was experiencing significant
transformations in every aspect of life. The Progressive Movement, which aimed at eliminating
various means of political corruption and illegal business practices, had just abated. Harlem
Renaissance, a new element of the 1920s, took place in City of New York and its effect swept
across the country. Harlem Renaissance, a rebirth of African American culture and art, exerted
substantial influence on black people, regardless of the social status and wealth they had.
Nevertheless, such splendid cultural explosion could not conceal the limitations and inequality of

The Siege Of Jerusalem By Ezekiel
Ludicrous. Torturous. Appalling. The unthinkable prophetic acts that God commanded for Ezekiel
to perform throughout his ministry were meant to be sensational scenes that demonstrated what
was to come for the Israelites. Ezekiel, illustrating the siege of Jerusalem was one of the first
prophetic acts God required Ezekiel to complete. God commanded Ezekiel to create a miniature
version of an invading army camped around Jerusalemand then place an iron plate between
himself and Jerusalem. Ezekiel, while lying on the left side of his body for three hundred ninety
days, represented the number of years that Israel was punished, and then lying on his right side
for forty days, represented the number of years that Judah was punished. Ezekiel had to portion
out water and grain cake, which he was supposed to cook on human manure to demonstrate the
unclean bread that Israel would soon eat, but Ezekiel refused as cooking on human manure
disobeyed God s dietary laws. Therefore, God compromised with Ezekiel and allowed him to
prepare the food on animal manure instead. Ezekiel, portraying the siege of Jerusalemwas just the
beginning of what God required Ezekiel to do in order to illustrate the suffering that the Israelites
were about to experience due to their unfaithfulness. Not only did God use Ezekiel to perform
extraordinary prophetic acts in order to get His message across to the Israelites, but God also
allowed for Ezekiel to have visions that reached beyond history and

Ancient Rome, the Roman Colosseum
Ancient Rome, The Roman Colosseum
Historians have always used great structures from the ancient world to find out information about
the kind of lives they used to live. The Colosseum in Ancient Rome, Italy was one of the most
famous structures. The Colosseum in Rome gives historians a number of insights to the type of
civilization that existed during the time of the ancient empire, through the gory battles and violent
games that took place. This can be proven by the purpose of the Colosseum and the context
surrounding its construction, the political and economic benefit of the Colosseum to the empire,
the types of games which were held in the arena and the values which the structure suggests were

The construction of the Colosseum was a propaganda exercise with the aim of pleasing the citizens
which meant that the emperor kept himself in power. The emperors bought their popularity through
free entertainment and corn for the spectators which lead to the emperor buying the peoples votes
(Hopkins, 2011). The magnificent amphitheatre entertained the roman public becoming an
international emblem and propaganda tactic used by emperors to improve their political careers.
The economic benefit that the Colosseum had for Rome was enormous. The Colosseum provided
many jobs for the citizens of Rome; including work as ticket sellers, architects, merchants, slaves,
cleaners, curtain pullers, soldiers (crowd control), musicians, gladiators, animal trainers, sand
layers, engineers etc. (DeLasCasas, 2007). It also assisted the economy as it provided
opportunities for money to move around the different class levels as merchants sold many assets
at the games. Another way that money came into the Ancient Roman economy was through
gambling, people would win and lose fortunes at the games similar to the way people bet on
today s sporting events. According to DeLasCasas, 2007, when the Colosseum was closed in 399
AD the Roman economy suffered as it meant no jobs for a number of citizens, which lead to them
not being able to provide for their families and this lead to poverty. The Roman Colosseum had a

The case against Judicial Review Essay
The Case Against Judicial Review
In order to make a case against judicial review it is first important to understand the origins. Born
in 1803 out of the landmark United States Supreme Court decision of Marbury V. Madison, judicial
review gives the court the power to invalidate any law repugnant (or in conflict with) to the
constitution. Judicial review has for the courts, become a self made license to strike down
legitimately made legislation by democratically elected representatives. It has been a tool to restrain
laws that are in the bill stage by the threat that if the bill materializes into law then at its first
challenge the court will strike it down.
In a democratically elected society it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is exemplified by an individual who has brought a case through the court or legal system. Now
that its at the U.S. Supreme Court the person seeks to have the words under God removed from
the pledge of allegiance (the success of this case is unlikely because of how the court has a
conservative right wing majority). Another example of a group with their own agenda undermining
democracy is the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union). The ACLU is seeking to repeal the
Bush administration s highly touted Patriot Act. This is an example of a group that is making it
their mission to skirt the proper channels of American democracy and use the judiciary to get
sweeping policy change with or without the consent of the governed people.
Judicial review has become the tool of choice for all the public interest law firms. It is through
judicial review they are able to get (properly enacted) laws struck down or thrown out. Judicial
review goes from being a tool with the intent of protecting the constitution to manipulating the
legitimately enacted laws.
In conclusion of the second argument against judicial review, it is inappropriate for individuals
and groups to have the ability to make frivolous attacks on laws that are democratically enacted.
Furthermore, it is inappropriate to clog the judiciary with requests such as removing under God
from the pledge of allegiance when they should speak to their congressman or senator over the

The Costs And Benefits Of The Industrial Revolution
The Costs and Benefits of The Industrial Revolution
Numerous advancements in today s technologies are in lieu of the Industrial Revolution and its
major industrialization period in the 1800 s. However, with these advancements came several
negative and long term costs that include poverty, extreme human labor and pollution. Each cost
came with substantial, positive attributes such as a freedom of expression and a change in
mindsets, laborer s rights and technological advancements. Every benefit and cost of the Industrial
Revolution has affected modern day life significantly. The Industrial Revolution was a series of
beneficial progressions that were worth the costs created by mankind in the time of the Revolution.

This is evident since people who were considered part of the poverty status were trying find
ways to rise from that position by changing their mindsets and expressing their new ideas. When
people allowed themselves to do so, they were able to think with a creative and free passion that
allowed them to invent or form new ideologies, philosophies, and inventions. This would allow
either the inventor or their invention to gain popularity. With popularity, it is easy for people to
rise from their lower status to either middle, or even higher, class with their newly found fame.
The invention of a new, adored idea was seen as the easiest way to escape the tortures of poverty,
since working hard would barely ever help anybody of the lower class status. According to the
website, Biography.com, the story of Andrew Carnegie can prove the importance of freedom of
expression and change in mindsets. Andrew Carnegie was one of the most successful self made,
business men in the 1900 s that had owned Carnegie Steel Corporation. However, Carnegie was
not always a rich and successful man. As a young boy, Carnegie grew up in a poor family and
was deprived a proper education. At the age of 13, Carnegie and his family had moved to the
United States. Once there, he had gone through several different types of jobs until he become a
worker on the Pennsylvania Rail road. As a worker on the Railroad, he noticed the importance of
the steel being used. He thought of making a business centered around making steel. Once he put
his idea into action, he had become extremely wealthy and popular (Biography.com Editors, http:/

to create benefits for the inventor and allow for a lasting benefit into the modern

Beginning with the newly founded nation: America, many colonial people encountered illnesses
they have never been subjected to. Despite the different times in history, there is a similarity that
is still ongoing today. Those who have little income or live in rural settings have trouble
obtaining the health they need when an illness occurs. Hospitals are either too far to reach in
time or the bills are too expensive to pay. Now, there are countries who offer free health care but
it does not pertain to the land of America. America is based on money, and the old ways of paying
back someone through bales of wheat or firewood just will not cut it.
There were doctors in Colonial America. When a doctor visits a patient to check upon the sick
person s health, their pay will be in anything but money such as chopped woods, vegetables, et
cetera for the poor people. The poor people did not have money as stated in A Visit to a Colonial
Times Doctor s Office. They usually rely on their farming to feed their families and things such as
money were scarce. Those who are of the contrary to the low income and the rural settings have
better access to health and opportunities as written in Colonial Medicine (5). They can pay their

The Threat Of Criminal Activity
Today, most of society depends upon computers to produce, store, retrieve, manage information and

daily workings of human existence. In the United States, there are approximately 239,893,600
Internet users (Internet World Stats [IWS], 2010) and globally there are 2,095,006,005 (IWS,

continue to use computers and the Internet globally, the threat of criminal activity will continue to
increase. Society is concerned about keeping their personal information confidential and eluding
the traps that are in cyberspace. Due to the fact that society is at risk, law enforcement agencies are
in somewhat of a quandary trying to keep one step ahead of the phenomenon of cybercrime. The

2. Mechanical and electronic access control
Electronic access control
The next layer is mechanical includes gates, doors, and locks. Control of the locks becomes a
problem with large user populations and large user turnover. The use of keys can quickly become
unmanageable, thus forcing the adoption of electronic access control. The most desirable is
Electronic access control which easily manages large user populations, controlling the user
lifecycles times, dates, and individual access points.
Also, by using an additional sub layer of mechanical/electronic access control protection one can
reach a higher level of security, by integrating a key management system to manage the possession
and usage of mechanical keys to locks or property within a building or campus.
3. Intrusion detection
The third layer is intrusion detection systems or alarms. Intrusion detection monitors for attacks; it
is less of a preventative measure and more of a response measure, despite the fact that some would
argue it is a deterrent. Intrusion detection has a high incidence of false alarms and in many
jurisdictions, law enforcement will not respond to alarms from intrusion detection systems.
4. Video monitoring

of many things, including their investments. And, sad to say, not one of them could coherently

Rebalancing is simple. Your personal investment plan should have a target asset allocation in

Jesse Vs Agnus
Growing old is inevitable, it is something that everyone goes through, well unless you are the
Tuck s. The Tuck s some how lucked up and gained every lasting life, is it luck or is it a curse?
That depends on which Tuck you ask. There is no pain from growing old and no dying. Agnus,

whereas Jesse has embraced his longevity of life. You can t have living without dying. So you

Analysis Of On Keeping A Notebook By Joan Didion
ON KEEPING A NOTEBOOK RHETORICAL ANALYSIS The point of keeping a notebook has
never been, nor is it now to have an accurate factual record of what I have been doing or thinking.
Author, Joan Didion, in her essay, On Keeping a Notebook explains how to keep a notebook and
why. Didion s purpose is to inform us on how she keeps a notebook and why notebooks are
useful in helping us to remember events that happened in the past. She adopts a sentimental tone
in order to emphasize how many memories are kept alive by keeping a notebook. Didion uses
ethos, pathos, and different rhetorical devices in her essay to explain her point. Didion uses
ethos appeals. She explains in the first paragraph all of her accomplishments. She is the author
of novels, short stories, screen plays, and essays. She began as a staff writer for Vogue
Magazine in New York in 1956. Run River was her first novel published in 1963. Her collection
of essays includes On Keeping a Notebook , Slouching Towards Bethlehem, published in 1968,
The White Album, Salvador, Miami, After Henry, Political Fictions, Fixed Ideas: America Since
9.11, and Where I Was From, were all written and published within the next twenty four years
(paragraph 1). In the essay On Keeping a Notebook , Didion uses pathos appeals to reveal
emotions. In the second paragraph Didion states I write entirely to find out what s on my mind,
what I m thinking, what I m looking at, what I m seeing, and what it means, what I want and what I

Rhetorical Analysis Of Woodrow Wilson s Speech
World War One has ended, and the world is almost in a state of chaos because of the devastation.
Many people are turning away from religion, family, and their own country because they cannot
count on them to help or give hope amidst times of uncertainty. It is hard to believe that peace can
be achieved. Although, some governing bodies propose ideas that would help towards world peace,
such as Woodrow Wilson, they soon found out that world peace is just a dream. Wilson was the
president of the United Statesduring World War One and guided the Allies towards victory. He is
seen as an optimist, and does want to achieve world peace. Thus, he created The Fourteen Points, in
which he gave in a speech to Congress. His speech included ways that would... Show more content

His credibility can come from his stance in the government and the role he played during World
War One which was helping the Allies defeat the Central Powers. Because he was the president
of the United States, one of the world s strongest superpowers, he would not be ignored when
offering suggestions. In Wilson s early childhood, he had seen the horrors of war towards the
end of the Civil War, which gives him insight into how peace could be achieved before he was
interested in being president. Wilson attended Princeton, University of Virginia Law School, and
John Hopkins University, thus giving him more credibility because he is very well educated on
multiple topics ( Woodrow Wilson. The White House.). During his speech, he was very fair
minded and suggested solutions to problems that all countries faced, and not just what would
benefit a single country. As an example, Wilson believes that nations should live its own life [and]
determine its own institutions , which backs up the statement that he wants every nation to be its
own and respected by other countries (American Rhetoric: Woodrow Wilson The Fourteen Points).
The Fourteen Points speech was entirely about peace negotiations and this allows him to show his
morals throughout the speech. His morals being that he does not want any more fighting, and he
believes that the world should be a safe place for all humans and nations to coexist with one
another. In fact, Wilson and his secretary of state wanted to base their foreign policy on moral
principles rather than selfish materialism ( Woodrow Wilson: Foreign Affairs. ). This in turn builds
up his ethos because the citizens of America knows that he follows morals that most Americans
follow as

the Supreme Commanders of the Allied forces in Europe. He planned and served in the North

President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill both agreed that helping the Italians in
exchange for surrender was the best option. Eisenhower however, did not agree with this. The
Germans had an aggressive army outnumbering the Allies Powers 2 to 1. But in the end, the
invasion of Italy was successful. In 1943, president Franklin D. Roosevelt decided that Eisenhower
would be the Supreme Allied Commander, not Marshall. during this time he was in charge of
planning and organizing the attack on the coast of Normandy which was later referred to Operation
Overlord. Eisenhower had improved on his organizing and planning by previous operations in
which he encountered. Now Eisenhower was extra careful on his planning. Although after
continuous arguments with president Franklin D. Roosevelt on using the French resistance as a
decoy to delay the ongoing Germans, and getting help from the British in the air, Eisenhower plan
was now in motion. On June 6, 1944 also known as D Day, was the commencing of Eisenhower s
Operation Overlord. Though there were mass casualties, they started the invasion of southern
France. Everyone including Eisenhower thought that the war would ve

Proposal for a Skate Park in Nacogdoches Essay
There are about two thousand skate parks in the whole United States, and in contrast to this there
are approximately thirteen million skateboarders in the U.S alone. These are really shocking
numbers that the average everyday person wouldn t know, or care about. But when one of the
thirteen million skaters who don t have a place to skate come and skates in front of their store,
suddenly they care. In Nacogdoches this is a real problem, and I have personally observed skaters
getting told to leave someplace time and time again. The reason of this problem is that there is no
designated place to skateboardin Nacogdoches, such as a skate park. Skaters have a tendency to
find one particular place they like, and once they find this place... Show more content on

I will not deny it is bad when you have younger kids staying out late at night to skate. This not
only puts them in a bad place but gives them plenty of opportunities to break the law or be
mistaken for doing something that they may not have done, but at the time there the one taking
the blame. There are many respectable skaters who love to skate and don t do anything wrong.
But there are also irresponsible skaters, who care whether or not they mess something up or
break it. For all these reasons I think that if there was to be a skate park built here in
Nacogdoches it would greatly alleviate many of these problems. People are going to skate
whether people like it or not. But with a skate park, the community would have more control
over were these people do there skating. As well as this it would allow the parents of their
younger skaters to not have to worry as much about were their child is. The park would be new
and clean, in addition it would provide a safe environment to skate in. Moreover it would help
attract people to come skate, who would otherwise not want to deal with the problems skating on
the streets bring. From people I have talked to in the past there are a few things that they would be
concerned about if there was a skate park in our town. These problems consist of: graffiti,
vandalism, drug use, and negative influences.
My answer to this these problems is first off,

The Recruitment Process Methods
1. Introduction
The purpose of this academic assignment is to prepare a portfolio of documents that will illustrate
examples of most effectively practiced recruitment methods. Several documents that best reflected
efficient internal and external recruitment methods, productive interview design structures, useful
tests used in the selection process of recruitment and effective induction procedures were compiled.
The portfolio of documents will then be analyzed and examined so as to provide an in depth
understanding on the usefulness and importance of such recruitment methods on the recruitment
process.

2.7. Personality Tests
Appendix F demonstrates the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test. This test
allows recruiter to assess whether a candidate is Extraverted or Introverted, Sensitive or Intuitive,
more prone to Think or Feel and whether the candidate is more Perceptive or Judging. Such is
effective as the employer will be able to determine whether the personality of the candidate is
suitable with the job description of the vacant position and with the organizational culture of the
company (McShane Travaglione, 2007).
Appendix G illustrates the Big Five Personality Test. Similarly to the MBTI, the Big Five
Personality Test allows a recruiter to effectively determine the suitability of a potential candidate by
scoring the candidate s level of extroversion, neuroticism, conscientiousness, agreeableness and
openness (McShane Travaglione, 2007).
2.8. Effective Induction Procedures
Appendix H provides a very concise, informative and detailed induction schedule. This induction
schedule will serve as a very effective work procedure as it includes careful planning, introducing
the new employee to the company, supervised induction programme, meeting with Human
Resources to clarify employment conditions,

The Impact Of Stereotypes On Society
The Impact of Stereotypes on Society I think that we should get to know someone before we
discriminate on them because they could actually be a nice person. Stereotypes are judgmental
people that can be negative to society because if they are discriminating a person, it could affect
that person and everyone around them. Everyone can be a stereotype, even if they are not trying to
be. We all use stereotypes, all the time, without knowing it. We have met the enemy of equality,
and the enemy is us. b Stereotypes can be defined as a fixed image or set of features that a lot of
people stand for or represent a particular type of person or thing , and they impact our society in
many ways (Stereotypes). For example, in an interview with Guy Raz from NPR, Jamila
Lyiscott says it s like you re trapped. You have to constantly fight against it to disprove it, and
yet, at the same time, you don t want to appear as if you re not part of a collective and loyal to it
and reflect it in positive ways as well. (Raz, Jamila). This helps define stereotypes because they
will say things about you that aren t true and you have to fight to prove them wrong. At the same
time you want to reflect in positive ways because you don t want to appear as if you have a bad
reputation. Clearly, Stereotypes have a negative impact on society. In another interview with Guy
Raz, Maz Jobrani says A lot of times in Hollywood when casting directors find out you re of

Loyalty In Antigone By Sophocles
In Antigone, Sophocles introduces the struggle between loyalty to civil law versus familial loyalty
and divine law, which is a central conflict in the play. Antigone has a firm belief in upholding
family values and honoring the gods and deceased by burying her brother. In contrast, Creon wants
to do what is best for the city which is, in his opinion, forbidding the burial of Polynices. Both
Antigoneand Creonbelieve that their point of view is more important, and neither is willing to
change perspective, causing the chain of destructive events in the plot. Loyalty causes the deadly
dispute between Antigone and Creon because of their conflicting perspectives about precedence.
Antigone has the strong belief that loyalty to the dead and to the gods has precedence over all
other opinions, specifically those of Creon. Antigone does not at all care that the one with all
governing power has the most disagreement with her decision to remain devoted to her family
below. Since I must please those below a longer time than the people here, for I shall lie there
forever (Sophocles16). She knows and understands that time in the mortal world has a limit,
however time in the underworld is eternal. Pleasing Creon and his belief to only stay true to civil
laws are of no concern to Antigone, for all she wants is to please her family below and the gods
above. An example of this is the burial of Polynices, because while it is right in Antigone s eyes,
Creon believes it is foolish and a sin

The Cost of Tubular Travel and Our Environment People work hard throughout the year and

in mind, they also worry about the expense. Is the weather going to cooperate? Is their luggage
going to arrive? Have you ever been sitting at the bank drive through, watching people submitting
their transactions by way of pneumatic tubes? Imagine being inside that pod travelling at 800 miles
per hour with no worries of the above mentioned. Why not alleviate travel concerns and climb

What if an earthquake were to occur or just natural ground settling? No one has mentioned an
automated laser level leveling system for the exterior pads that the bracing rests on which
elevates the travel tube off of the ground. That to me would be considered a crucial safety
measure to be added, before discussing how much a ticket to travel would cost. * Musk pledges
would be less than 9% of the cost of the proposed passenger only high speed rail system between
Los Angeles and San Francisco. Pylons at 30m intervals would support the steel tubes, which
would minimize costs associated with footprint and construction area on the ground, according
to Musk. The capsules will be guided directly on the inner surface of the tube via the use of air
bearings and suspension the need for costly tracks would be eliminated and it would create a
smooth ride, he says. Wynne, Alexandra. New Civil Engineer (Aug 22, 2013). * There are many
more cost savings that would apply to Tubular travel versus the conventional ways of travel. For
instance, there is no fuel pricing to consider or fleet equipment costs to endure. * Elon Musk
contributor to the tubular travel system says that connecting San Francisco and Los Angeles
(through a proposed $20 fare, 35 minute ride) with the system would cost about $7billion, or a
tenth of the projected cost of California s beleaguered high speed rail system meant to connect those

Billy Mitchell Leadership Analysis
Billy Mitchell: A Critical Analysis of His Leadership
Billy Mitchell was a visionary airpower pioneer who demonstrated very effective leadership in
field operations, but his inability to develop a guiding coalition limited his effectiveness in leading
the major organizational change he so desperately desired.
General Mitchell was a famous, some would say infamous, airpower thinker who some regard as
the father of the United States Air Force.1 Born into a wealthy family and the son of a Wisconsin
Senator, Mitchell could have chosen a life of luxury. But Billy sought great adventure and chose
the military life instead. He joined the Army at the age of eighteen, six years before the Wright
brothers made their first historic flight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mitchell s personality was well suited for leadership in a field environment. He was able to
effectively utilize the coercive, authoritative, and pacesetting leadership styles that, according to
leadership research, were well suited for executing his vision in stressful environments with highly
motivated men.8 He engendered high levels of trust from those who worked under him and gained
the respect of those who worked by his side, including the British, French, and Italian allied
leadership.9
Relevance, the apex of the RTL model, is a direct result of a leader s influence and occurs at the
organizational, environmental, and personal levels.10 Mitchell showed relevance in all of these
areas. First, from an environmental perspective, he brought together multiple organizations, air
forces from Britain, Italy, and the United States, and integrated their personnel and equipment into a
viable fighting force, which culminated in the greatest concentration of air power that had ever
taken place. 11 He had high organizational relevance, changing the persona of his combined force
from one solely focused on

What Are The Four Books Of The New Testament
Books of the New Testament
The Bible is made complete by the New Testament because many things that were prophesied in the
Old Testament manifest in it. Some Bible scholars say that the Old Testament conceals the New
Testament that then reveals the Old Testament. Out of 66 books that make up the entire Holy Bible,
27 are of the New Testament. The 27 books can be classified according to authorship, target group
and time in history in the Christian calendar.
The first four books of the New Testament are called Gospels and are named after their writers
who lived with Jesus. These books give details on the life, teachings, death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ. The life of Jesus is often declared as the Good News to the world. Good News because

Due to the concept that I choose, I gained a better understanding on how much influence the

California as an example, the executive branch is entrusted with implementing the laws that are

Imagery In Hills Like White Elephants
In Ernest Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants , the use of imagery and symbolism in the
landscape of surrounding Ebro Valley, as well as the use of language and tone, shape our
understanding of the conflict between the two main characters. The man referred to only by The
American , is trying to convince Jig to get an abortion. Though the word (abortion) is never stated
directly in the entirety of the story, it is conveyed by the use of symbolism and imagery in the
surrounding landscape. Furthermore, we can conclude that the topic at hand will come to a final
and abrupt solution that Jig will, in fact, get the abortion due to her tone and language at the end of
the story. In the beginning of the story, Jig makes a very subtle and almost unnoticeable comment
that the hills surrounding Spain s Ebro Valley resemble White Elephants. Historically, in India and
many parts of the eastern world, white elephants were gifts of great honor and importance, but just
like most gifts, they had a large price that went along with them. White elephants were extremely
hard to care for and have no apparent use or utility for the person receiving it, and because of this
many people who received them went into financial debt and some even lost everything that they

Michael Strand is a 62 year old who has worked with children for 40 years as a coach, counselor,
and mentor. Due to his business, he maintains strong ties to his community. He is also strongly
driven and motivated by his wife and kids. While interviewing Michael, he didn t shy away from
sharing his personal stories and experiences that helped him become the person he is now. He was
honest and became emotional when sharing his long time stressors that began in his early
adolescence. In addition, the moment he described his obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and
his triggers, it became noticeable throughout the interview the types of patterns he created. These
patterns included cleaning and placement of drinks on a coffee table. However, he was humorous
and insightful when he made jokes that revolved around the societal stereotype of an old man and
his capabilities. The interview as a whole undertook different forms of emotions as Strand explained
the consequences to his drug use in his adolescence, overdosing twice, and living on the streets
from 15 to 17 years old. All of which made a big impact on him while growing out of adolescence
up to his early 30s. Although his life began troubled, his quality of life seemed to have improved as
he entered his adulthood to late adulthood years.

  • 2. What Were The Causes Of The Edwardian War In 476 C.E. the Roman Emporers in the west were defeated by the Germans. The Romans were in serious trouble. This meant that the Romans and their church were in trouble from Western Europe state. Charlemagne s crowning made the Byzantine Emperor doubted them, and relations between the East and the West deteriorated until a formal split occurred in 1054. The Eastern Church became the Greek Orthodox Church by causing all ties with Rome and the Roman Catholic Church from the popeto the Holy Roman Emperor on down. The Hundred Years War was a series of conflicts waged from 1337 to 1453 by the House of Plantagenet, rulers of the Kingdom of England, against the House of Valois, rulers of the Kingdom of France, for control of the latter kingdom.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The war marked both the height of chivalry and its decline, and the development of strong national identities in both countries. Historians commonly divided the war into three phases separated by truces the Edwardian Era War the Caroline War and the Lancastrian War . Conflicts in the near areas, which were directly related to this conflict, included the War of the Breton Succession the Castilian Civil War the War of the Two Peters in Aragon, and the Crisis in Portugal. Later historians invented the term Hundred Years War as a memory to keep memories of all these events, though constructing the longest military conflict in history. These facts lead up on how the fight of misconfusion between the state and the state even started.By proximity of blood, the nearest male relative of Charles IV was his nephew Edward III of England. Edward was the son of Isabella, the sister of the dead Charles IV, but the question arose whether she should be able to transmit a right to inherit that she did not herself possess. The French nobility, moreover, balked at the prospect of being ruled by the English ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Reflection Of Cooperative Learning An important skill for students to develop in school is collaboration. During this course, I learned more in depth knowledge about students working with others within a concept called cooperative learning. Cooperative learning is one of three goal structures associated with motivation. The three structures are cooperative, competitive, and individualistic. Though all three are used to motivate students to achieve goals, I believe cooperative is the most ideal goal structure for student development. Cooperative learninginvolves putting student in groups for a lesson and requiring all students to succeed in order for any one individual to earn rewards. This strategy enforces individual accountability for each child to complete their share... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a future educator, I want my own students to have those same experiences that I have had and cooperative learning is a perfect way to motivate the development of collaborative skills. The fifth and final concept I found to be enlightening throughout the semester was the concept of divergent thinking versus convergent thinking. Divergent thinking is a type of thinking, whose goal is to come up with numerous unique and original ideas. One of the most common aspects of divergent thinking is brainstorming. This is frequently used within school and many other domains in order to come up with a large amount of ideas or topics at once. To contrast, convergent thinking is a type of thinking that focuses on finding a specific answer. Convergent thinking is used for situations where there is only one answer such as how many presidents there have been or how many states there are in America. Divergent thinking is more often used for open ended questions or to come up with completely new ideas. Divergent thinking is also a method of thinking that enhances student creativity. When in the midst of divergent thinking, a person is supposed to defer their judgment of ideas until later and create the most off the wall ideas possible. I especially enjoyed learning about divergent and convergent thinking because I had not realized there were various types of thinking. I had believed people could decide to be creative ... • 4. Are Humans Inherently Evil In Lord Of The Flies Statement of intent: I am going to write a persuasive essay about how humans are born evil and are conditioned by society to act civilised, using Lord of the Flies and Goldings idea that humans are inherently evil, as well as current and historical events to expand on these ideas. The greatest trick the devil pulled was convincing the world that there is only one of him David Wong. The critically acclaimed novel Lord of the Flies written by Nobel Prize winning author William Golding explores the idea that humans are inherently evil, among other ideas such as the loss of innocence, civilisation versus savagery and much more. Golding portrayed the idea that humans are inherently evil through the masterful use of symbols and motifs. In the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... World War II was the setting for some of the most horrific atrocities man has ever committed. Events including the Holocaust, concentration camps, atomic bombings and many more were the cause of over 80,000,000 deaths, which at the time was about 3% of the world s population. The acts of Hitler and the Nazi party in the war were acts of pure evil. Hitler can be directly compared to Jack from Lord of the Flies as Jack s leadership was based purely on striking fear into others. He made people believe that if they didn t join him he would hunt and kill them. Hitler s leadership also followed some of this vicious dictating. Another example of Golding s idea that humans are inherently evil was the murder of James Patrick Bulger. James who was murdered on the 12th of February 1993 at the age of two. He was abducted, tortured and murdered by two ten year old boys, Robert Thompson and Jon Venables. The mere facts the two murderers were of such a young age and came from such good families is a perfect example of humans are inherently evil and that evil is not taught or learnt, it is simply a part of ... • 5. Congressional Era Of Reconstruction During Post Civil War... Failure is simply an opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently. Henry Ford. This was the Southern optimist s view of what the results of post Civil War Reconstruction could be. Unfortunately, once the Congressional era of Reconstruction began, this view was squandered under federal punishment of the South. This policy led to strained relations between Congress and the ex Confederate states. The difference of opinion was over how harshly the South should be punished for leaving the Union. The South wanted to be readmitted with as little friction as possible, so they sided with the Democrats, like Robert E. Lee, and Moderate Republicans. Congress on the other hand, being mostly controlled by Radical Republicans, believed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One explicit difference of policy was over the use of troops to put the South into military districts that were under martial law and putting Northern Generals over Southern troops. As historian S. Chase said in the Democratic National Committee of 1873 There should have been as little military government as possible. This policy was even more harshly debated because these troops were there to enforce a law that the Southerners were not ever able to vote on until they were forced to vote for it if they wanted to rejoin the United States, which they had to do because they lost the Civil War. This force, both physically and ideologically, seemed very out of place in a country that claimed to be the land of the free, and even more out of place since it was a Democracy. This ideological difference between Southerners and Congress has been a major point of contention in discussions about Reconstruction policy since it was put into practice. Another point of policy disagreement can be seen in how representation in the South would be handled. In accordance with Congressional Reconstruction, certain classes of ex Confederates, such as the class that Robert E. Lee was in, were excluded from being granted their suffrage . This was an outrage to Southerners for two reasons. The first is that the certain classes being exempted from regaining their suffrage were the highest part of the upper class and the people of high rank from the ex Confederate ... • 6. Unit 1 Assignment 2 Biometrics This report started with a motivational empirical study of the usability, security, and privacy of enhanced fingerprint authentication as compared to password based authentication. This study revealed that the password based authentication lacks usability and security, while the privacy enhanced fingerprint authenticationis more usable than password based authentication. However fingerprint data on the cloud poses a greater likelihood for attacks. A risk assessment was conducted to evaluate the adequacy of controls available to mitigate the risks. Based on a threshold set for the residual risk, a roadmap was established to close the gap on the lack of controls. The solutions presented in the report have an edge over different models. The reason is that, once an attacker obtains access to a unique finger impression template, he can claim to be a validated client. Yet,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Anonymous authentication at some point was good but it declined in the recent years. The last known published research on anonymous authentication for biometrics is dated back in 2008. Anonymous authentication can be considered as a good approach on the cloud. With a new mind set and tools available, new innovative framework can be created. Two of the upcoming works are as follows: 9.2Biometric data hiding in IPv6 The Internet Protocol (IP) has some vulnerability that can be exploited to transfer information along the network by being anonymous. Some attempts have been made using IPv4 but now since IPv6 is the new mode of network the challenge is to design it to fit the new trend. 9.3QR Code biometrics QR Code has been introduced quite a long time ago. Its lightweight properties have propelled it to become a worldwide phenomenon among online stores. Its complicated matrix is an innovative method to hide data among the grey area. • 7. Taking A Look At The Sainsbury Corporation This research study focuses on the Sainsbury Corporation and the way its online shopping initiation has affected its leadership style and the treatment of employees in its corporation. The online shopping initiated by the corporation is basically done for the comfort of the consumers, in order to provide them the opportunity to shop from their homes and not come to the store for their purchases. However, this has created a certain bad environment with the employees as some of the employees are not in favour of this new initiation. The research study will utilise the secondary research as well as the primary research as its methodology in order to understand the topic with much detail. • 8. The Tragedy Of World War II By Siegfried Sassoon throughout History, a major tragedy caused the world to become chaotic, which lead to millions of brave individuals to lose their life. This horrific tragedy, World War 1 (the Great War), was the beginning of a long terrible journey. Many strong and mighty men volunteered to join the War with the persuasion of being Hero s . These men did not realize the terror they would face when walking into this journey. Many soldiers were faced with seeing their fellow soldiers cold blood drip from their aching bodies, their loving eyes becoming raged with anger by the conditions of their sleeping arrangements, and their hopes of ever returning home or being a normal human being was wiped clean. This was the beginning of a major change in the lives of all individuals throughout the world. Before the War, many soldierss mindsets was that this war would turn them into hero s and men . A poet, Siegfried Sassoon, wrote the famous poem They , explained, The Bishop (authority) tells us: when the boys come back/ they will not be the same (1 2). These lines symbolizes how many or all soldiers were encouraged to join the War because they will come out a better individual, and everyone will look up to them. Many of these fellow soldiers entered the war singing, but suddenly realized the words given by an authority figure was all wrong, which led them to trust no one. Qing China And Russia Essay Both Qing China (1644 1912) and Russia (882 Present) collapsed because of external and internal factors such as failing government, social problems, and political conflict within the land based empires. Internal Factors in Russia and China were causing decline because people in Russia were losing faith in the Romanov s, their leaders at the time, while Mao Zedong was trying to establish a communist China. • 11. Haemoglobin Synthesis In order for haemoglobin to be made from the base sequence provided, protein sysnthesis needs to occur. Consequently, two major events are involved; transcription, which makes messenger RNA (mRNA) that holds the codons that tRNA will translate into amino acids and eventually a polypeptide; and transcription, which makes polypetide chains that make proteins. In relation the hameglobin structure, the DNA(base sequence provided) partially unwinds, so it can be read. RNA polymerase enzymes attach onto the promoter reigon of the gene. The RNA polymerase assists in the complementray base pairing of free ribonucleotides with exposed bases of the template strand of DNA. Therefore, new hyrdogen bonds will be formed between the bases of DNA and the newly formed RNA molecule. When the RNA polymerase reaches the terminal reigon of the gene, hydrogen bonds break of and a newly formed mRNA strand C A U C U A A C C C C A G A G G A G is created.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With that being said, this mRNA sequence codes for six codons and six amino acids. After the creation of mRNA, proteins need to be made in order to make hameglobin, through translation. The mRNA strand exits the nucleus and attaches onto a ribosominal sub unit, within the cytoplasm. Every three letters, which code for one amino acid is read, as the mRNA strand flows through the ribomsomes. Once the mRNA is positioned properly in the ribosomal sub uint, it triggers the approach for tRNA. Each tRNA (anti codon) brings one amino acid and complentary binds it with the mRNA codon. The tRNA will then drop off its amio acids, which will be attached onto the growing polypeptide chain. Once the polypeptide chain has gained all the needed amino acids for new protein, it will break of the ribosome and make its way to the endoplasmic reticulum. The unthinkable prophetic acts that God commanded for Ezekiel to perform throughout his ministry were meant to be sensational scenes that demonstrated what was to come for the Israelites. Ezekiel, illustrating the siege of Jerusalem was one of the first prophetic acts God required Ezekiel to complete. God commanded Ezekiel to create a miniature version of an invading army camped around Jerusalemand then place an iron plate between himself and Jerusalem. Ezekiel, while lying on the left side of his body for three hundred ninety days, represented the number of years that Israel was punished, and then lying on his right side for forty days, represented the number of years that Judah was punished. Ezekiel had to portion out water and grain cake, which he was supposed to cook on human manure to demonstrate the unclean bread that Israel would soon eat, but Ezekiel refused as cooking on human manure disobeyed God s dietary laws. Therefore, God compromised with Ezekiel and allowed him to prepare the food on animal manure instead. Born in 1803 out of the landmark United States Supreme Court decision of Marbury V. Judicial review has for the courts, become a self made license to strike down legitimately made legislation by democratically elected representatives. Now that its at the U.S. Supreme Court the person seeks to have the words under God removed from the pledge of allegiance (the success of this case is unlikely because of how the court has a conservative right wing majority). Another example of a group with their own agenda undermining democracy is the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union). The ACLU is seeking to repeal the Bush administration s highly touted Patriot Act. This is an example of a group that is making it their mission to skirt the proper channels of American democracy and use the judiciary to get sweeping policy change with or without the consent of the governed people. Beginning with the newly founded nation: America, many colonial people encountered illnesses they have never been subjected to. Despite the different times in history, there is a similarity that is still ongoing today. Those who have little income or live in rural settings have trouble obtaining the health they need when an illness occurs. Hospitals are either too far to reach in time or the bills are too expensive to pay. Now, there are countries who offer free health care but it does not pertain to the land of America. America is based on money, and the old ways of paying back someone through bales of wheat or firewood just will not cut it. There were doctors in Colonial America. When a doctor visits a patient to check upon the sick person s health, their pay will be in anything but money such as chopped woods, vegetables, et cetera for the poor people. The poor people did not have money as stated in A Visit to a Colonial Times Doctor s Office. They usually rely on their farming to feed their families and things such as money were scarce. Those who are of the contrary to the low income and the rural settings have better access to health and opportunities as written in Colonial Medicine (5). Control of the locks becomes a problem with large user populations and large user turnover. The use of keys can quickly become unmanageable, thus forcing the adoption of electronic access control. The most desirable is Electronic access control which easily manages large user populations, controlling the user lifecycles times, dates, and individual access points. Also, by using an additional sub layer of mechanical/electronic access control protection one can reach a higher level of security, by integrating a key management system to manage the possession and usage of mechanical keys to locks or property within a building or campus. 3. First, Hume argues that people are hurt by the silencing of opinions. Not only the person who is silenced, but also the person who silenced them. He states that people should be able to hear every opinion so that they can decide for themselves how they feel about it. He finds four criticisms of this argument which include: (a) even though people may be wrong they still have a right to conscientious conviction, (b) a government has the duty ... Wilson attended Princeton, University of Virginia Law School, and John Hopkins University, thus giving him more credibility because he is very well educated on multiple topics ( Woodrow Wilson. The Fourteen Points speech was entirely about peace negotiations and this allows him to show his morals throughout the speech. His morals being that he does not want any more fighting, and he believes that the world should be a safe place for all humans and nations to coexist with one another. The Impact Of Stereotypes On Society The Impact of Stereotypes on Society I think that we should get to know someone before we discriminate on them because they could actually be a nice person. Stereotypes are judgmental people that can be negative to society because if they are discriminating a person, it could affect that person and everyone around them. Everyone can be a stereotype, even if they are not trying to be. We all use stereotypes, all the time, without knowing it. We have met the enemy of equality, and the enemy is us. b Stereotypes can be defined as a fixed image or set of features that a lot of people stand for or represent a particular type of person or thing , and they impact our society in many ways (Stereotypes). For example, in an interview with Guy Raz from NPR, Jamila Lyiscott says it s like you re trapped. You have to constantly fight against it to disprove it, and yet, at the same time, you don t want to appear as if you re not part of a collective and loyal to it and reflect it in positive ways as well. At the same time you want to reflect in positive ways because you don t want to appear as if you have a bad reputation. Clearly, Stereotypes have a negative impact on society. Antigone has a firm belief in upholding family values and honoring the gods and deceased by burying her brother. In contrast, Creon wants to do what is best for the city which is, in his opinion, forbidding the burial of Polynices. Both Antigoneand Creonbelieve that their point of view is more important, and neither is willing to change perspective, causing the chain of destructive events in the plot. Loyalty causes the deadly dispute between Antigone and Creon because of their conflicting perspectives about precedence. Antigone has the strong belief that loyalty to the dead and to the gods has precedence over all other opinions, specifically those of Creon. Antigone does not at all care that the one with all governing power has the most disagreement with her decision to remain devoted to her family below. Since I must please those below a longer time than the people here, for I shall lie there forever (Sophocles16).
